- 2:57season premiere, picking up the pieces, which I don't know, I
- 3:01guess we'll be picking up the pieces on this episode.
- 3:05We open at Janelle's house, her beautiful homestead, her rental
- 3:08in Las Vegas. In case you guys have forgot
- 3:11where we are, we're in Las Vegas in the rentals that the Browns
- 3:16midst of the storylines of building their new homes, Meri's
- 3:23And we'll now be able to talk about Solomon's first birthday
- 3:31I know. I've just been waiting and
- 3:33waiting for his 1st birthday on bated breath.
- 3:35When we're at Janelle's house for the episode opening, Kody
- 3:38says he just got done with his workout.
- 3:40And he's, like, wearing his workout clothes and he's all
- 3:43sweaty. And it's like, OK, thanks, Kody.
- 3:47It's been almost two years since
- 3:50Utah, so queue up the flashback montage of the move.
- 3:53Oh. My goodness.
- 3:54The footage we've seen a million
- 3:58and hurrying out in the middle of the night for no reason.
- 4:01We have to see the footage again
- 4:04season with something that we've
- 4:08seasons with now. Is this flashback like they just
- 4:11can't move on from it? Two years in separate houses as
- 4:14well is what that means. Two years since they have been
- 4:19living in these separate homes
- 4:23falling apart. Kody and Christine are talking
- 4:26about this need to live together
- 4:30couch. And Janelle gives a sumMeri of
- 4:35their choice of their builds, all the things that you guys
- 4:39have heard us talking about that you've loved every minute of.
- 4:41But, and we have to of course we've loved every minute of
- 4:45going through these stories. And so of course we have to have
- 4:50And of course, Kody has to say, too, that they still have to
- 4:53qualify for the homes. So if two people just qualify
- 4:57and two people don't, that would be the end of it.
- 5:00It would be so awful. Catastrophe.
- 5:02That would be interesting though, if not all of them were
- 5:05able to move into the homes because of course, in practical
- 5:07sense the other people would just rent or move into the homes
- 5:14Well, what's weird to me about it is that they haven't
- 5:18qualified or they still have to continue to qualify, but they're
- 5:23So if they don't get the home, then some other person ends up
- 5:30Like it just seems bizarro but I don't know.
- 5:33And then yeah, you're right. They lived in one home as 3
- 5:37wives for the longest time. And if if you only made it into
- 5:42two of the homes, couldn't 2 wives live in each home?
- 5:46It wouldn't be ideal, but. No, it's probably bigger than
- 5:49the original home where three wives were living the whole just
- 5:54walls. And now they'd be moving into
- 5:56new builds that they would have to share.
- 5:57Someone would have to get the priMeri bedroom and that would
- 6:02you get the priMeri bedroom. See.
- 6:04Look. Yeah.
- 6:04Making up the rules here. That would make sense to me,
- 6:07yeah. Robyn tells us that, you know,
- 6:23number one. I think she needs more room for
- 6:26her horde, but that's my opinion.
- 6:28Yeah, Aspen and Leon only have a little bit of time left, so it
- 6:39rentals are depressing. Yes.
- 6:41They are depressing. Leon says that Vegas is their
- 6:46home. They consider Vegas their home,
- 6:48but the rental they do not consider their home.
- 6:52OK, at least Leon's cool with being in Vegas now, so there's
- 7:02adult and whatever. And it's like, I'll clearly that
- 7:08that they are they feel like Vegas is home.
- 7:11Yes. Our first scene after Janelle's
- 7:13house is out at the properties at the cul-de-sac and the bottom
- 7:19So do you think that this is our countdown for the season?
- 7:23I think we're going to get a countdown until Christmas and
- 7:27we're going to keep getting, you know, check insurance on these
- 7:34Until Christmas, maybe I'll put a little effect on it.
- 7:37It'll be all dramatic. But this is not exactly that
- 7:40kind of podcast, so don't expect it.
- 7:42They're doing a framing walkthrough again.
- 7:46I think we ended with that. You know, they were doing an
- 7:51original framing walkthrough or they went to see the frames up,
- 7:54but now we're doing a framing walkthrough and they're going to
- 8:00house first. Yeah.
- 8:01They're meeting Mona and then one of the guys from Pinnacle
- 8:05Homes. Oh yes.
- 8:05So this is probably when they're saying their first walkthrough,
- 8:08like officially. Officially can't forget about
- 8:11Mona, our best friend. Here, we definitely need Mona
- 8:13there. She's got her clipboard and
- 8:16she's following them around. Fortune telling Globe in her
- 8:19hand. Yes, they're crystals.
- 8:22A crystal ball, and it turns out it's not very good.
- 8:26No. Not very good indeed.
- 8:28We've got some mistakes. I think the the money might have
- 8:34Yes, the money and the builders doing whatever they're doing.
- 8:38My favorite part of this transition is when Christine
- 8:40says I know there's just going to be wood everywhere.
- 8:43Yeah, I'm like, what? Like, yes, there will be wood
- 8:47everywhere. They're building a house.
- 8:48And also, what are you, like, scared of wood?
- 8:50There's. Going to be wood everywhere
- 8:52like. I mean, it's a construction
- 8:54site, but it's not exactly. I don't know.
- 8:57She has an irrational fear of spontaneous combustion and being
- 9:03She might get a splinter. Oh.
- 9:06Kody says. I'm not carrying anyone across
- 9:11Yeah, and unfortunately we're starting at Robyn's house, so it
- 9:17a little bit in my mouth. I was like, Kody, when they're
- 9:25window and asked if they could change.
- 9:27It didn't seem like a big deal, A big dull.
- 9:29She says it's really dark in here and Kody says, yeah, I'd be
- 9:36window. It's not big enough.
- 9:37Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:38Our next house on this fabulous tour is Meri's house and as soon
- 9:47Like couldn't happen to a better sister, wife, you know?
- 9:50Yeah. Of course, she's like the first
- 9:53one to go. Now this is a problem.
- 9:55And I see it immediately, like, OK, here we go, Meri.
- 9:57Yeah, there's a big double door frame where there should just be
- 10:07funny. There's just, it's just, you
- 10:09know, like, yeah, I mean, you don't want to put indoors where
- 10:12you didn't have them plan. Whatever her plan is for that
- 10:14room, she should get that. It's just funny that of course
- 10:19be a solid wall. Like, oh, God.
- 10:21Of course, Mayor. It's funny because you know,
- 10:24when they're talking about the window at Robyns, they do kind
- 10:31And Meri says if we need to make any changes, like, what does
- 10:36that mean? What's the cost?
- 10:37And Mona says, well, it depends on what needs to be changed.
- 10:42And I hate this type of shit. This is like my fear with
- 10:46building a home is you plan everything out like
- 10:49meticulously. Like you take your time and you
- 10:52get there and the freaking contractor is messing things up
- 10:55and then the money comes out of your pocket to fix it even
- 10:59though they fucked up based on the plans.
- 11:02And I feel like the contractor should be held more accountable
- 11:06for that mistake and they should have to front the cost
- 11:09for that because their job is literally overseeing the build
- 11:12of the home. And if they're not doing that
- 11:15correctly, they're failing at their job.
- 11:17So for Mona to say it depends on how big the fix is, I just want
- 11:21to say like get bent to people in this type of business that
- 11:25take advantage of people and just like make mistakes and then
- 11:30Get bent. Yeah, they didn't go into too
- 11:32much detail about the things because the Window 1, I feel
- 11:36like when Robyn asked if that could be changed, I think the
- 11:38guy from Pinnacle Home said like
- 11:41or if it costs money and it's like, OK, we didn't really get
- 11:44details about these things. It was just kind of brushed
- 11:47over. But yeah, I know it is annoying
- 11:49when. Yeah, there was like a little
- 11:50sidebar conversation, but they
- 11:54And I'm just like, they're already worried about qualifying
- 11:57for these homes and going, like,
- 12:01and now you've got to get mistakes fixed.
- 12:04Like, yeah, regardless of the fact that it's the Browns, and I
- 12:07don't have much sympathy here.
- 12:11situations like this that have
- 12:15they are not very great to work with.
- 12:18I feel like saying, I've heard
- 12:22timeline and you double the budget and like that's a bit
- 12:26much. I mean, it's one thing to add
- 12:2710% or 20%, but to just go into it knowing it's going to take
- 12:32significantly longer than they
- 12:34significantly more, It's like,
- 12:37estimates, like get your shit together.
- 12:39I feel like they should be held more accountable than they are
- 12:41for things like that, honestly.
- 12:44Yeah. They're probably like, unless
- 12:45you're willing to sign this piece of paper that says we are
- 12:47not responsible for our own errors first, we're not going to
- 12:50So now, first we've got the window that's the wrong size,
- 12:54we've got the double door frame, and then we get to Christine's
- 13:00house? Well, Christine's house has an
- 13:05It's it was hard for me to follow a little bit.
- 13:07I feel like maybe it should have been around the corner or
- 13:09something. It just wasn't supposed to be
- 13:11off the foyer. Yeah, there's a doorway in the
- 13:26it's going to cost money to fix the errors.
- 13:28He tries to sell poor Christine on a library, but she falls for
- 13:32it hook, line and sinker. She says best mistake ever.
- 13:37Right. OK.
- 13:39Well, then, you know, it's interesting because with these
- 13:45like a Eden kitchen thing. Like there's like the kitchen
- 13:49and then a place for a table in the family room.
- 13:51So the need for a formal dining room is really up to if a person
- 14:10Like to her. And she starts talking about how
- 14:16space. I'm thinking about her kids.
- 14:18Basically. Yeah, you probably have to like
- 14:20close yourself in your room if you ever wanted any peace and
- 14:22quiet in any of these houses except for Meri's.
- 14:25Meri's probably very quiet what it needs to be.
- 14:28But do you remember how big computer rooms used to be?
- 14:31Yes. Like having a nook that was a
- 14:34computer room. Yeah, it was a big deal.
- 14:37We were looking for houses and I remember there being like the
- 14:41newer homes had a computer like nook either off the kitchen.
- 14:44Ours ended up being in the basement and it was this like
- 14:47framed out nook in the middle of the basement and that was a big
- 14:52deal or having like a small office space.
- 14:54And so I could see how that could be helpful, especially
- 14:58with all of the studying that she does for things, you know,
- 15:06helpful before her failures of tests.
- 15:09Yeah, the, the family home needs space for the PC and the monitor
- 15:17the fucking things like Oh my God.
- 15:19And you're right, remember? And so many times those built
- 15:21insurance or the big desk were like that oak, like the yellow
- 15:28Yeah, and they're like massive and like heavy pieces that even
- 15:31if you try to get rid of them, it's like no one wants it
- 15:34anymore. You could set it up by the
- 15:36street with the free sign and people are like, I'm just going
- 15:38to drive my bike. It's.
- 15:39Too much work. Yeah, Christine is wearing a
- 15:43green blouse with frog closures like buttons all down the front.
- 15:50No, like it's a, it's a type of closure.
- 15:53They're usually on kimonos and
- 15:56Oh, is it the kind of the thing that comes?
- 15:57Out. Yeah, with the little loop that
- 15:59goes through and she's wearing
- 16:03literally just like those frog
- 16:07front. And I was like, what is this?
- 16:11What is this? She's such a fashion icon that
- 16:14Christmas. Yeah, so unique.
- 16:16And on this parade of homes, we don't get to see anything about
- 16:20Janelle's. Nope.
- 16:22So I'm assuming that means either there was nothing wrong,
- 16:25which is not my assumption, or
- 16:28She's like, I'm easy breezy, beautiful.
- 16:30I'm Janelle. It's all good.
- 16:31Don't worry, don't. It doesn't matter to me.
- 16:34Save the dollars. Keep it as is.
- 16:36Oh, these rooms don't have doors
- 16:39That's all right. I'll make my kids find another
- 16:41way in. Don't.
- 16:42Don't spend the money. Want me to access the room at
- 16:46all? Yeah, we'll make our own doors
- 16:48when we move in. We'll make holes for the kids to
- 16:51crawl through. We'll.
- 16:52Just breakthrough the drywall.
- 16:57Ridiculous. Then we get a transition into
- 17:01our next scene where Robyn starts off by talking about how
- 17:05for Christmas last year she designed a necklace for her
- 17:08sister wives. And I was like did we get to see
- 17:11this necklace? We do hear about it more later
- 17:14so my my queries were calmed but
- 17:18necklace? Did I miss it?
- 17:21Was I sleep? They did show us when she gave
- 17:24it to them. Really.
- 17:25Yeah, she gave it to them for Christmas and it was like the
- 17:27first like mock up thing almost before the actual mock ups.
- 17:32OK, OK. Yeah.
- 17:33She talks about how it's been 5 months since they launched the
- 17:36My Sister Wives Closet website.
- 17:40Five whole months. Five months and I'm sure they've
- 17:49to discuss an upcoming Expo titled What Women Want in St.
- 17:53George, UT. Which is so funny because when
- 18:00hell did she say? I had to rewind it because she's
- 18:08It's like. What women want, What women
- 18:11want, it's a big deal for them to be part of this Expo because
- 18:16they have some issues boiling up.
- 18:17Issues coming up to the surface. They're having some trouble
- 18:20getting some traction on my sister wifes closet.
- 18:23Yeah, she blames the fact that they don't have a storefront.
- 18:29She says people can't see and touch the items and it's
- 18:33affecting the sales. Like people just don't know what
- 18:39that's why it's suffering online.
- 18:41Yeah, if they knew that the necklace was like an anchor
- 18:45tearing your body to the ground, they would love to have the
- 18:48necklace. They'd love to spend hundreds of
- 18:53It's made out of like, concrete. And she's like, they just don't
- 18:56get the comedy. And yeah, she talks about how
- 18:59this Expo can serve as like, a replacement, like a mini
- 19:03storefront. Like, they'll be there to let
- 19:05people touch and hold and smell and caress and taste my sister
- 19:11It tastes like Mantle. Like rusty pennies for some
- 19:15reason. These jewelries taste like rusty
- 19:27leave the Expo 1/2 hour after it starts because of an
- 19:30obligation with Leon. But then.
- 19:32Says she has a conference to do that.
- 19:35Oh, a conference? OK, see, this is, I feel like
- 19:37she's talking about two different things in this.
- 19:39Like one day she had something and then the next day she had
- 19:42something or something. It's just weird they focus on
- 19:44the fact that she's going to have to show up late and or the
- 19:50drive is 4 hours and if she has to leave you know and only be
- 19:55there 1/2 an hour. Kody doesn't think it's worth it
- 20:00But Robyn wants her to go and Meri pushes to go because she
- 20:05wants things to get done right? So they're just going back and
- 20:16like, why does this even fucking matter?
- 20:18Why does this matter? Robyn wants Meri to drive the
- 20:22four hours round trip because she's a pusher.
- 20:25Yeah, she's a pusher. She knows that Janelle and
- 20:28Christine are going to be like, we're doing our best.
- 20:31Yeah. And she thinks Meri's going to
- 20:36She can't do it without Meri.
- 20:38Oh. Yeah, her sister.
- 20:40Wife. God forbid I have to do all the
- 20:42work. Right.
- 20:43Heaven forbid she have to carry her own weight.
- 20:48Janelle lets us know that they
- 20:52this Expo worth it. 100 pieces
- 20:59that their jewelry, I, I shouldn't say that tells me, but
- 21:02my assumption is if she's running off of an average cost,
- 21:05that everything must be pretty
- 21:08order to sell a $15 ring versus a $2000 blah blah blah.
- 21:14That's a big difference. So I'm assuming they're all
- 21:16overpriced and relatively the same price.
- 21:20For sure. I was thinking 100 pieces to
- 21:24make an Expo worth it. You have to pay for your booth
- 21:27at the Expo. You're paying for gas for this 4
- 21:31hour drive. We find out that they're
- 21:33obviously staying the night because it's two days and
- 21:36they're going the night before.
- 21:38So two nights of hotel rooms and you'd only have to sell 100
- 21:43pieces to make it worth it. Either her math isn't maphing,
- 21:51shit is overly expensive as we already know too, but it's
- 21:55insane. And we do later, I mean, later
- 22:00So the the cost savings that could happen is maybe they're
- 22:04staying at Stepdaddy, Uncle Paul's house.
- 22:06Oh, maybe. She might have relatives, you
- 22:08know, like maybe her sister Fawn or her sister Dawn or her sister
- 22:15there. So let's give let's give Janelle
- 22:23really expensive. Yeah, Kody is like, you guys can
- 22:28We're getting a hotel room for the night.
- 22:31Have fun with Saul. Kody and Robyn stay in a hotel
- 22:37Because they need to be closer to the Expo.
- 22:40Because it's Robyn's thing, even though it's everybody.
- 22:43Oh sure, that that rationale. We're just coming up with this
- 22:47Robyn is wearing this weird like faux Jean blazer with some big
- 22:56Eyes Closet collection. It doesn't look like it.
- 22:58I don't think so. And I'm like she is trying to
- 23:01look serious. She has this like blazer outfit
- 23:04on but it's like fake Jean. It's not even real Jean material
- 23:12having a meeting about my Sister Wives closet and I just
- 23:16thought that was so funny. At Meri's kitchen table so like
- 23:20we're not going to like a meeting space or a boardroom or
- 23:23even a Co working we're just going to Meri's table.
- 23:26Robyn is wearing this ridiculous top and I think that the
- 23:29necklace now I, I feel like it was one of those ones that had
- 23:38kind of thought maybe it was one of theirs is because it had,
- 23:42like, a hoop with, like, charms hanging on it.
- 23:45And I'm like, maybe that is one of their necklaces.
- 23:48But the chain doesn't look like one of their chains at all that
- 23:52we've seen so far. So I'm like, is this lady even
- 23:59Yeah, we've seen Meri wearing the bear paw, which is their
- 24:03logo. Apparent like, yeah, the people,
- 24:10And it literally looks like if you were missing your fingers at
- 24:15So we've seen Meri wear that necklace a lot, and I think
- 24:18Christine's even wearing it. During this episode, I've seen
- 24:31The outfit reminds me of the club days at this time when
- 24:35you'd go out downtown and girls were wearing like business
- 24:38casual as their club outfit. And that's like what she's
- 24:43wearing. It's just funny.
- 24:44While they're sitting at Meri's table, the the important
- 24:47business meeting has started and Janelle tells everyone this
- 24:51weekend will be a big indicator on whether this business will be
- 24:56Right now it's not. Yeah, she she flat out says that
- 25:05be profitable. Yeah, she says she thinks it
- 25:07might be profitable, but won't be profitable enough to support
- 25:11multiple people. OK, so, yeah, so.
- 25:13She did give a little kernel to Robyn's ridiculous idea by
- 25:16saying it might be, you know, it might be profitable.
- 25:20Yeah, she says that she thinks she should be focused more on
- 25:23her real estate business, and she's worried about putting
- 25:26bread and butter on the table. This.
- 25:29Is it my sister? Wife's closet isn't going to
- 25:31give her that bread and butter that she can pass through the
- 25:34wall hole to her children as they're trapped in their
- 25:37bedroom. For like a little mice in their
- 25:39old hole. Yeah.
- 25:41Yeah, she's worried about basically paying her bills
- 25:45because she doesn't think that it will be able to sustain the
- 25:52about multiple income sources, which is something that they've
- 25:56discussed before. And it seems like they've kind
- 26:02afford bread and butter. Yeah.
- 26:03Yeah, I think this is a Harkin back to really the history of
- 26:08their family, how Janelle always had to work, Kody had to.
- 26:10I'm going to put work in quotes because I don't know what money
- 26:14he ever made. Meri worked and even though
- 26:16Christine was the stay at home wife, wife, you know, mom wife,
- 26:20she's still at work too. So they were all working and
- 26:24then Robyn came into the family and that changed.
- 26:26They just need instant gratification all the time,
- 26:29these people. And when they're not getting it
- 26:32and something's suffering or not working just a little bit,
- 26:34they ditch it and move on to the next thing.
- 26:36Like you've said before, they're they're grifters.
- 26:38They're like trying to find the quick and easy fix to
- 26:42everything, which it makes sense then why they're hawk and drink
- 26:47mix and Lularoe outfits because those are that instant
- 26:51gratification money maker businesses that end up kind of
- 26:57Well, and I'm curious too, because we're now starting
- 27:01season 6, I wonder what their income from the show also is,
- 27:06because if you my my best guess was that it would at least cover
- 27:12It has. To, I mean, it has to, yeah.
- 27:15So if what they're really talking about is earning income
- 27:18to set money aside for their kids, they do have a lot of kids
- 27:21and they for some reason think
- 27:23to college, which is insane. That's insane.
- 27:26And then, you know, whatever other things they have, you
- 27:28know, bread and butter. So I kind of, it's interesting
- 27:33because sometimes they talk about the money as if like, what
- 27:37are we going to do? They're obviously terrible at
- 27:39money. They have been on this show for
- 27:4020 years now, 20 seasons, and they still have money things
- 27:44where it's like, how have you not figured this out by now?
- 27:47Like how many years of TV do you
- 27:51I don't need to be scammy on TV about business because I'm OK
- 27:54like. Why don't you have an accountant
- 27:56or somebody that's helping you
- 27:59budget? I don't understand that at all.
- 28:02Janelle the bookkeeper. Because yeah, they've got their
- 28:05own personal bookkeeper. Oh God.
- 28:10So they're starting this discussion about like how
- 28:11they're feeling, what they're putting into the project, so
- 28:14like, what's happening? And Robyn of course comes in
- 28:17with her brilliant $0.02 and Robyn says that she thinks Kody
- 28:22thinks of it as like a hobby business after she says there
- 28:25needs to be more man hours put
- 28:28So everyone needs to put in more
- 28:30And you know, even Kody said that this is just a hobby
- 28:32business, which he has an amazing response.
- 28:35Oh my gosh, I don't see it as a hobby.
- 28:39I don't see it that way because I'm not enjoying it.
- 28:44He is flat out like not having
- 28:48There are days that I don't want
- 28:52want to run away. Screaming.
- 28:54Run away screaming. Like yeah, you wouldn't do a
- 28:58hobby business that you don't even enjoy.
- 29:02This is the second person that's
- 29:04the family. Now we've had Janelle say that
- 29:07she's felt like running away, and now we've got Kody saying he
- 29:10feels like running away. And Christine pipes up and she
- 29:14flat out says that she never intended to do this.
- 29:18She intended to do real estate.
- 29:20I'm sorry, Robyn, I never intended to actually do this.
- 29:22I intended to do real estate. And Robyn's like, well, I didn't
- 29:29at the table about how little everyone is invested
- 29:33emotionally. And Christine, she says if I
- 29:38don't groan during the meeting, get up and roll my eyes and walk
- 29:47And that had me cracking up because it's so funny because
- 29:54she does do that eye roll, but she's so obvious about it.
- 29:58When she rolls her eyes, her whole head rolls with her eyes.
- 30:02Totally.
- 30:03And I mean, I'm, I'm team Christine on this thing because
- 30:06it's not like we ever saw any footage.
- 30:08Now, mind you, we don't see everything, but I didn't see
- 30:10Christine going like, I can't wait to dedicate 40 hours a week
- 30:13to your jewelry business. Like, I feel like Robyn's delulu
- 30:17where she would think everyone
- 30:19availability and desire to support an online jewelry
- 30:22business. Like it's just weird.
- 30:24Yeah, I don't understand her need for everybody to be so in
- 30:28on this. And she keeps harping on it.
- 30:31You know, Meri says this is a critical time for the family.
- 30:35This Expo may tell us if it's right for the family or not.
- 30:39And then Janelle is going in on it again, saying, well, I just
- 30:44want to start focusing on my real estate and demote this to a
- 30:47hobby. Yeah, Janelle says she feels
- 30:49like it's a drain. And the money that they
- 30:52invested, they planned on this
- 30:55business. So they're going, if this is
- 30:57going to be more than a hobby business, it needs to be
- 31:00successful and it needs to be successful now because we've
- 31:02invested all of this money. And there is that thing in
- 31:04business where you either your
- 31:08And. Then if you are not, you cut
- 31:11your losses and be done with it.
- 31:13You don't drag it out and spend all this time on something
- 31:15that's not making any money. Yeah.
- 31:17And I think that their point here, too, is that they need to
- 31:20focus on, you know, external ways of making money as well,
- 31:24and that this should be Robyn's endeavour.
- 31:26And they're a little confused as to why they have to have such
- 31:30big part in it. And Robyn says it's called my
- 31:33Sister Wives Closet. It's not called Robyns Closet.
- 31:43It's about. Kody supporting his wives.
- 31:47It's about our differences and what we all bring.
- 31:51I'm like, no, it's not. When you start a business, it's
- 31:55about business. There are things that hopefully
- 31:57you like about it and you love about it and it's your passion
- 32:02are supposed to be dedicated to a non money making business.
- 32:05Like Robyn is so fucking dumb. Like she's just so dumb.
- 32:09Is it just Kody blowing smoke up her skirt that she's even gotten
- 32:14I mean, yeah, it's been around for five months, but we saw them
- 32:20They've sold however many pieces, not enough to pay any
- 32:24bills. So why is she so delusional to
- 32:31wife's closet. But also like, what work is
- 32:34there to do? You have the pieces, you've
- 32:37manufactured the pieces supposedly, and now you've got
- 32:43doing right now? And what the fuck are you doing?
- 32:47that run a one woman show a one person business and an online
- 32:52business and do just fine. They don't need help.
- 32:55So what are you doing? Why do you need help from four
- 32:59other adults to do this? And I think that she is trying
- 33:03to put the blame somewhere else again.
- 33:05And now with everyone backing out, if this business is a
- 33:08failure, it's not her fault. No one supports supported her.
- 33:12No one gave her enough time of
- 33:15Yeah. And now that it's failing, it's
- 33:17like, well, it's, it's not on me.
- 33:20Right, that totally makes sense.
- 33:22And Robyn, she could literally be doing things like drafting
- 33:25social media posts for her sister wives to be posting.
- 33:28You could you do the work. And even if you have to rely on
- 33:31other people for their followers, their engagement,
- 33:33their whatever, well then make it easy for them.
- 33:36I mean, what else is happening? They're not handcrafting the
- 33:39jewelry. What is going?
- 33:41On. What does Robyn do with all of
- 33:45Yeah, they're not running a little sweatshop with all their
- 33:48children making the jewelry. Little truly, truly has the
- 33:52perfect little fingers to put the snaps on the end of these
- 33:55necklaces. That's her job.
- 33:56Like we could drop the price, but we're not going to.
- 34:00No. They're like Nike over there.
- 34:02They're like keep it in the family so that all the money
- 34:05stays in the family. And when we finally make some,
- 34:10I put my heart into this business.
- 34:13I was hoping it would be Bible and bless our family.
- 34:17Bless your family. Maybe I'm just not insane, but
- 34:26I guess that's a blessing, but the way she talks about it, it's
- 34:33them, like change their lives or something.
- 34:35It's insane. She goes on and on about that.
- 34:43because this whole episode is just harping on the fact that
- 34:46they're all going back and forth about if this business is worth
- 34:48it or not and her trying to push the family to do it.
- 34:53And it's like, Oh my gosh, we are loading up the van in our
- 34:58next scene. Big, big deal loading up that
- 35:01red van. Going to go to Saint George for
- 35:05the What Women Want Expo. They are putting in literal
- 35:08chairs and table and furniture and display pieces.
- 35:12Yes, they're putting in like 1 of the.
- 35:15Things. Furniture.
- 35:16Yes. And one of the things was like a
- 35:21plates maybe or something. A Baker's shelf, they would call
- 35:27I was going to ask you about this if if you've ever worked at
- 35:35work for. And usually when you're setting,
- 35:40stipulations like you have to rent these things usually from a
- 35:45And so the fact that they were able to bring in all of their
- 35:49stuff, they probably rented like the big tables that were there.
- 35:51But then by the time they get
- 35:53their space set up, it literally
- 35:56basement. Like it was nuts.
- 35:58Like, Oh my God. They were like, Meri, take your
- 36:01fancy plates off of your Baker's
- 36:03We're going to take that and we're going to put these heavy
- 36:05necklaces on there and hopefully
- 36:08their weight. We want.
- 36:09People to be able to taste the
- 36:14Of course, Meri is leading this packing because duh, she's got
- 36:18the shoulders for it. She's doing it.
- 36:20She says she won't go the day before but the next morning to
- 36:23help set up because of her schedule issues or whatever.
- 36:28She'll be there bright and early.
- 36:29Who else is going to be there at
- 36:30Crickets, Crickets, crickets, crickets.
- 36:33Yes, yeah. And Meri and Robyn both say here
- 36:36that they don't see it as a hobby business.
- 36:39They're both full on in on this thing together.
- 36:42Bosom Buddies. It's true, Robyn says.
- 36:48They'll be celebrating Saul's first birthday when they get
- 36:51back because his birthday is going to fall on this very, very
- 36:54important Expo. So they won't be able to do it
- 36:56on his birthday. They'll have to do it when they
- 36:57get back. Yeah, Expo is on Solomon's
- 37:01birthday. Like are you kidding me?
- 37:04And Robyn makes the comment that
- 37:07his first year. And I'm like, Yep, you and every
- 37:09other mother, honey. I know.
- 37:11I literally was like, that isn't
- 37:14Relatable moment. Like maybe the first one in this
- 37:16episode where it's like, yes, of
- 37:19first year. Yeah.
- 37:22Now all the adults are driving
- 37:24Meri. They hit the road and Robyn
- 37:27tells us that she grew up in Saint George.
- 37:30There was always news about the FLDS and the people of Saint
- 37:34George don't have high opinions of Warren Jeffs in his cult.
- 37:39Yeah, I don't think anybody has high opinions of LDS or Warren
- 37:43Jeffs in his cult. FLDS.
- 37:44Excuse me, FLDS. I don't want to say LDS.
- 37:47I don't want to offend anybody.
- 37:49Kody says that they're going there to do business, and he
- 37:52hopes that the people there see them as something kind of in
- 37:56between. So like kind of in between, in
- 38:04Like, OK, you want to fall somewhere in between so that
- 38:09hopefully these people will do business with you.
- 38:13He was. He wants to make positive
- 38:17impressions. And it's like, yeah, I don't
- 38:20know if the positive place is somewhere between Mormonism and
- 38:24the FLDS cult. Yeah.
- 38:26But if that's where you're striving to be, that's that's
- 38:29where you could be. He's.
- 38:30Probably not wrong, that's kind of what it is, but it's like to
- 38:34come flat out and say it to the camera is like you buffoon.
- 38:39Yeah, what a mess. Robyn tells us about how she had
- 38:46like polygamists. And you know, she's nervous
- 38:49about the Expo because of how the community may respond to
- 38:52them. Robyn and Christine are
- 38:54unpacking the car and Robyn says I'm nervous, like to Christine
- 39:02And she said that she's nervous because she's coming back now
- 39:06and she's an open polygamist and she knows that some people won't
- 39:15make their quota OK. I can't remember if this is if
- 39:21And she's like, because this is Saint George.
- 39:24It's like, OK, that's not a real response.
- 39:25Like, Oh my God, you're so fucking dumb.
- 39:28Even your sister wives are like, bitch, we're going to an Expo to
- 39:32Like what would somebody going to come up and like, attack you?
- 39:37there and she was told and run
- 39:40Never come back and she's back
- 39:45How many lives did Robyn ruin in
- 39:48That's the real question. Oh, this is.
- 39:50Yeah, that is a good question.
- 39:54leader of the Expo. Did you catch his name?
- 39:56Jeremy Browning. Oh, Jeremy Browning.
- 40:00He says that they did get some
- 40:03there, but that the Expo committee decided to allow them
- 40:07to be there because they are, after all, selling jewelry.
- 40:10They're not. They're trying to convert people
- 40:12to plural marriage. So I guess that's very noble of
- 40:16this for profit organization to allow people to be there to
- 40:19sell things. And yeah, he's like, they're not
- 40:21here to promote plural marriage or to promote polygamy.
- 40:26They're here to sell their jewelry and it's like, but their
- 40:29jewelry literally is about polygamy.
- 40:32It's a literally called my sister wife's closet, but OK.
- 40:36Jeremy Browning. Well, this is it.
- 40:38I was hoping to get something more out of Jeremy.
- 40:39I felt like they were showing him and they didn't even need to
- 40:42like, OK, got it. Like they're sell jewelry and
- 40:45that's what you decided. Just to get a quote from
- 40:47somebody else that he kind of made it seem like people thought
- 40:50about pulling out or not coming if the Browns were there, and
- 40:54they obviously used him to get a
- 40:58discriminated against again. They've got to get us ready for
- 41:01all the hate that they're going to experience during this.
- 41:03So much hatred and vitriol being
- 41:08Day one of the Expo starts, come
- 41:17I just love an Expo built around
- 41:21Most people don't need any of this.
- 41:23What women want? I guess a lot of women do want a
- 41:26bunch of shit around, but you know, there was like only a
- 41:30handful of good vendors there.
- 41:33that's now in a landfill. There was like a smoothie stand
- 41:39right across from the brown stand that I noticed and there
- 41:43was like one other food stand that I noticed and then other
- 41:48jewelry stand. So what women want, it's
- 41:52basically like, come spend your dispensable income here, I'm
- 41:55sure. Like come have a smoothie and
- 41:57browse. Yes, yes.
- 42:00And we do find out that a lot of
- 42:02There's a lot of looky loos. We start out with Meri trotting
- 42:06on in, she comes skipping on in and she's actually impressed
- 42:10with how they've set up so far
- 42:12She says actually impressed she had to throw in actually.
- 42:16She says I didn't have to fix anything major, I might have
- 42:19just re angled a few things. I'm loling at Meri being the
- 42:23perfectionist. So she comes in and gives them a
- 42:25faux compliment that everything is actually good.
- 42:29And then she's like, I'm just going to do this and do that,
- 42:32maybe this. And like if there's not room
- 42:34that it goes away and blah, blah, blah.
- 42:35And she's got a lot to say. And then she's like, because I'm
- 42:38a pusher and I'm like. She says because she's a pusher,
- 42:40I guess. Her, she's so catty.
- 42:43Herring's teacher. She's such a pusher.
- 42:45They mention again that with the
- 42:50location, it is taboo there to
- 42:55worried about how they're going to be perceived there.
- 42:58They're all nervous, they're very nervous.
- 43:00One lady walks by the camera and
- 43:05Like not at the camera, but she might as well have made eye
- 43:08contact with the camera and done
- 43:12us. Yeah, it looked like she was
- 43:14like both noticing the shitty jewelry mixed with Sister Wives
- 43:18and then the camera to the left and was like.
- 43:20Yeah, she was like tucked. In the space.
- 43:23Like tucked her chin in into that face so.
- 43:25Good. So good.
- 43:27Yes, When they opened the doors,
- 43:30But he asks where's the wallet?
- 43:33And I'm saying Amen, you're there to sell things.
- 43:36So the looky loos, it is what it is.
- 43:38It's a hard part of retail. It's a hard part of selling
- 43:41things. People want to come and look,
- 43:43but you don't pay your bills on people looking at.
- 43:46It Robyn works very closely with one lady and they start picking
- 43:51out charms and going on and on. And the lady was so excited to
- 43:59necklace like whatever the fuck it is they're putting together.
- 44:03And then she says that she needs
- 44:05to go and get some money. She needs to go and get the cash
- 44:08out of the bank to pay for it.
- 44:12come back. Right, yeah, dot dot dot. 30
- 44:17minutes have gone by at the Expo, they say.
- 44:20And they haven't. Sold a thing.
- 44:22They haven't sold one thing in
- 44:24But you know, I mean, what? What I've always heard about
- 44:27shitty jewelry is that it's the long game.
- 44:30Right, right, right, right, right.
- 44:32Or maybe that was just Robyn, I don't know.
- 44:35They have a fishbowl set up on
- 44:38like it has papers in it, like
- 44:41drawing to win a prize of the,
- 44:45And I'm like, you guys are going
- 44:48because you're giving stuff away
- 44:51selling anything. Because if I was there, I, I
- 44:54would be putting my name in the drawing for something free.
- 44:56Yep. And then I would also be doing
- 44:57something that I caught out of
- 45:00pink, pink little little pink eye.
- 45:03Oh no, my little eye, my little baby blue eye.
- 45:06It was Janelle holding a couple copies of Becoming Sister
- 45:10Wives, their book. And I thought, you know what,
- 45:13Janelle, for as much as I talk
- 45:17with money and all of that, that's what they should have is
- 45:20a stack of books. You buy a book, I'll sign it for
- 45:22you. You buy a book, I'll give you a
- 45:24titty photo, like whatever you
- 45:27whatever. That's probably where they made
- 45:29really money is selling books.
- 45:33would guess like if I saw them, I would be like, I'm buying a
- 45:35copy of your book if you sign it
- 45:38this fishbowl. That's what I would have done.
- 45:40Same. The lady that you know was
- 45:42looking at all the charms with
- 45:46and you know Robyn took all this
- 45:49she was going to buy everything there.
- 45:51She was so excited, I bet you that she didn't realize how much
- 45:55things cost because it wasn't obvious and it wasn't like put
- 45:58out there. And then when it came down to
- 46:01the cost of it and she's like,
- 46:04get money if I'm looking to buy that.
- 46:07And I think she probably was like fuck that and didn't come
- 46:10back. Yeah, sticker shock.
- 46:11I one time was at a brewery and they had like a maker's market
- 46:16type of thing, but it was more
- 46:19businesses. And there was somebody that was
- 46:22selling products made from their
- 46:27soap and this and that. I've bought plenty of that stuff
- 46:30before, like at the farmers market or, you know, random
- 46:33places. OK, I'm going to buy this thing.
- 46:36And I remember getting up to the
- 46:39the price. But they also weren't listed
- 46:41anywhere on the ladies stand. And I want to say it was like
- 46:45$34 for this thing of lotion or something stupid.
- 46:48And the only reason I bought it was because I was like too
- 46:52embarrassed to not to buy it at that point.
- 46:55But it was way overpriced. And I went back to our table and
- 46:58my brother-in-law was there who used to have his own bees and I
- 47:01told him how much it cost. He was like, that's freaking
- 47:04ridiculous and was like annoyed for me, but I'm like, I have a
- 47:09feeling that they didn't have the prices very obvious.
- 47:12It didn't look like it anyway.
- 47:15So then what do you do? And you're going to be too
- 47:17nervous to buy something then because you, you just don't
- 47:20know. And I don't want to be that
- 47:23idiot that goes and like can't
- 47:26That's, like, probably the strategy, a part of it, you
- 47:29know, is to like get the person checked out and have them go,
- 47:32oh, fuck, I guess I'm doing this.
- 47:34Yeah, even though they don't want to.
- 47:36Yeah, like if the prices aren't listed or if the prices aren't
- 47:40like on the bottom of the item, I just don't even deal with it
- 47:44anymore because I'm like, they
- 47:47that's why they're not showing
- 47:49Agreed. Step daddy Uncle Paul shows up
- 47:54with Solomon in hand and I was
- 47:58him with a camera. I thought he would have been
- 48:00there to document, just like he was taking photos of Robyn's
- 48:03coochie during her birth. I thought maybe he'd be taking
- 48:05pictures. He'd be proud of his niece,
- 48:08granddaughter, stepdaughter. Yes.
- 48:11Whatever she is, he would have
- 48:14pictures of this, but no, he was
- 48:18Saul's getting carried into the Expo on his 1st birthday.
- 48:22Absolutely. And this is an opportunity for
- 48:24Meri to remind us that Saul's birth was when Robyn offered the
- 48:29surrogacy. So it's been a year since Robyn
- 48:32offered Meri to carry her child.
- 48:34Yes, she says that she thinks it's about time for her to bring
- 48:42in a couple of days, they're going to be getting ready
- 48:45together for the birthday at her house.
- 48:48And she thinks it'll be a good
- 48:51offer again. Like, OK, we're getting ready
- 48:54for your son's first birthday.
- 48:57topic together right before the party.
- 48:59Right before the party. But this is how this family is
- 49:01starting to operate. After the seasons of shows that
- 49:03we've seen is like production.
- 49:06conversation. They have something lined up.
- 49:08It was probably scheduled. It was probably pushed by a
- 49:10producer, frankly, to happen. And it's weird because Christine
- 49:15does echo what I'm saying about how they really didn't have
- 49:19conversations or do things outside of filming, which is
- 49:23bizarre because they're a family, supposedly.
- 49:26But it's maybe one of the only
- 49:28alone together soon again. Or yeah, that makes sense.
- 49:33When talking about the Expo some
- 49:36rejection from making pitches and not making sales.
- 49:40And this was I don't know if it's the first time, maybe it's
- 49:42not. Let's go with the second to be
- 49:44kind time where I've liked identified with Robyn.
- 49:47The reason I'm not good at sales
- 49:51rejection and I feel like I can't help but equate not making
- 49:55a sale or not doing something to
- 49:59And so it's hard for me, like many people in my life have been
- 50:02like you should be a salesman.
- 50:04blah, blah. And I'm like, just cuz you're
- 50:06like an over expressive person
- 50:09does not mean you're good at sales.
- 50:11Like when people are like, I just view that this is what
- 50:14somebody needs and so I'm helping them.
- 50:16I'm like, I can't delude myself into thinking they need this.
- 50:19They probably don't. So like, and then when people
- 50:23don't buy things or because I've
- 50:26in the past and it sucks when you're like, make a proposal, go
- 50:29to a pitch meeting, do all these
- 50:31work with you. It wears me down.
- 50:34It makes me not want to do it,
- 50:36Yeah, I don't think I could do
- 50:40way. Like if somebody doesn't
- 50:42actually need something, I can't
- 50:46need it, right? Where I think something like
- 50:49jewelry could be a little bit more fun because you know,
- 50:54people already know they don't
- 50:57It is just like a fun item or they have maybe the extra money
- 51:02to spend and that's why they're coming to you for jewelry as
- 51:05opposed to like a car salesman
- 51:09But I don't know, like you got
- 51:12So I guess you still are trying to convince people to buy your
- 51:14shitty jewelry even though, I don't know, it's a whole like
- 51:17round round Robyn situation for me.
- 51:22Yeah, it's more complicated than
- 51:24default to You have a nice personality, you should be in
- 51:26sales. It's like, that's not no, no,
- 51:28no, no, no, no. Christine talks about how most
- 51:33of the jewelry at the Expo is cheaper than theirs, so it's
- 51:36like she's putting the pieces together even more that their
- 51:40jewelry is probably overpriced
- 51:44quality. We're making assumptions that
- 51:46it's overpriced but that it's just expensive.
- 51:49Like other people that are selling their goods are less
- 51:53expensive than theirs. Yeah, She says their prices are
- 51:56too high for the Expo. And the name Sister Wives is
- 51:59negative. There has a negative connotation
- 52:02there. And she says that on the couch.
- 52:04And Robyn kind of looks down and, like, rolls her eyes and
- 52:07has this, like, her jaw is set.
- 52:09She's got the Habsburg jaw jutting out.
- 52:12And you can tell she's annoyed with the comments that are being
- 52:18And Christina's, like, I feel drained.
- 52:21We've been here so long and I'm feeling drained.
- 52:23And it is, it is draining when you're, you know, having to be
- 52:31And you have to be excited for every person you talk to.
- 52:34You have to make them feel like your, your attention is all
- 52:37about them when really you were there all day talking to the
- 52:41when I worked at Expo, I remember I went to a resort
- 52:44afterwards and I was meeting people at this resort and I was
- 52:47like, I've just met like 2000 people in the last two days.
- 52:51And now I'm meeting new people. And like the next day I had to
- 52:54And I'm like, I'm sorry. I just, I met so many people and
- 53:00Janelle says that 8 hours in, they've sold four pieces of
- 53:05jewelry and we need to still sell 120 pieces to make it
- 53:10valuable. And she goes.
- 53:11But I'm not worried. Yeah, she rolls her eyes and
- 53:15goes. Yeah, she chuckles.
- 53:17She chuckles. It it's so great 'cause it's
- 53:20like, Yep, that's the real shit right there.
- 53:22It went from they need to sell 100 to now they need to sell 120
- 53:29here. Probably because they bought a
- 53:37Yeah, their costs went up. We are at the final day of the
- 53:48Yes. Final day of the Expo.
- 53:51I'm guessing just day 2, like day one, day 2.
- 53:54And they sold seven things on the first day, Yeah.
- 53:57Yeah. Oh boy, Meri says that we have
- 54:08Are we going to be profitable on this?
- 54:10And Dingbat Robyn is like, given we're out of town, I don't
- 54:14imagine we're going to be that profitable.
- 54:17And I'm like that profitable. This isn't one of those things.
- 54:21Profit is either there or not.
- 54:23It is a number like PNL is profit and loss.
- 54:26It's not a thing that you feel
- 54:29town, you don't imagine that it's going to be that
- 54:31profitable. The answer is no, Robyn.
- 54:33The answer is no. And everybody knows that we're
- 54:35going to sell 113 pieces of jewelry today.
- 54:38Well, maybe they will. We get another gem from
- 54:42Christine here and she says that
- 54:47spiel, she sees the eyes glaze
- 54:53to. Yes, she says.
- 54:54I don't think anything is singing to anyone.
- 54:58Yeah, it needs when you see something and when you're
- 55:01shopping for jewelry, it just needs to sing to you.
- 55:03And I don't think our pieces are
- 55:06And that would have been so great to see in person.
- 55:08Is someone stopping in? You're going to tell them little
- 55:10story because of course then they show us examples of the
- 55:13women talking. They just give us a little bit.
- 55:15It's like not a whole story, but
- 55:18symbolizes when the time that I gave Meri a blah, blah, blah
- 55:21and the time that Christine touched my Hoo ha.
- 55:23And it's like, my God, like people need stories to know
- 55:28about what your jewelry's about.
- 55:30That's not good. No.
- 55:31God, like it should speak to them about something.
- 55:34Which is why jewelry generally doesn't need a story that you
- 55:37get told about it. It speaks to you where it
- 55:39doesn't. And who wants a bear claw with
- 55:48look like bodies? And you know what it reminds me
- 55:50of? Like the old Fisher Price toys
- 56:07sister wives? Who else has four sister waves?
- 56:10Yeah, who's going to wear that?
- 56:12Yeah. What the fuck were they
- 56:13thinking? If someone was like asked you,
- 56:15oh, what does that necklace mean
- 56:16It's like, oh, it's actually like a logo of a Sister Wives
- 56:20brand, like. Oh, is this show that I watch
- 56:24about this polygamist family and
- 56:28Now, by the way, if any of you
- 56:30jewelry, I would desperately, desperately love to have it so.
- 56:33Right. I would.
- 56:35I'd be the one telling that story.
- 56:36This is a necklace from Robyn's collection.
- 56:40And I have this podcast where I like to talk about it because
- 56:43it's so ridiculous. It's.
- 56:44A badge of honor I wear as a deadbeat loser.
- 56:48Ridiculous. Now we get to meet Susan, who
- 56:51gives us some precious pearls about this Expo and about her
- 56:54opinions about the Brown family.
- 56:56I I happen to like Susan, although if you were to have the
- 57:06that's not pleasant. She's got Susan has Karen
- 57:09energy. Yes.
- 57:10Oh, she has big time Karen energy and she says I have no
- 57:14respect for them whatsoever. I feel there's a lot of creepy
- 57:22We get this back and forth between Susan quotes and then
- 57:26Kody quotes for a few minutes here.
- 57:29So after they show Susan saying that, we cut to Kody saying that
- 57:39asking for people's approval. He thinks that this is an easy
- 57:46Scripturally, when he talks about how he's sick and tired of
- 57:52This is where I struggle with Kody is because I get it to get
- 57:56a little wound up by that. I, I, I, I think people are
- 58:00under the impression that their acceptance of me is some sort of
- 58:09approval to keep moving on in your life and be happy.
- 58:11I don't need it any more than you need mine, so fuck you.
- 58:14Right. And but what I would have to say
- 58:19So like right, like they're I'm. Boiling it down to the basics
- 58:23for. Sure.
- 58:24No, I know. And I can understand that as
- 58:26well. I feel like you get sick of
- 58:29having to explain your plight to people when it's not even like
- 58:41nervous when a man walks behind them at night.
- 58:44Like, go to the opposite side of the sidewalk, please, Sir, You
- 58:50Like walking home at night, that type of situation, it's like
- 58:54it's so fucking old having to explain you know, how you feel
- 59:01OK but you're literally on ATV show trying to explain yourself
- 59:05like constantly and. You've stated that one of your
- 59:10people are not agreeing with you and you're trying to change
- 59:13their mind. Yeah.
- 59:14So you are saying you want to explain to people and help them
- 59:17understand, but that you're sick of it at the same time?
- 59:20Yeah, I think he's sick of doing it in everyday life, like in
- 59:24person, like situations and scenarios like this.
- 59:27But if he gets a broad audience and gets to talk about put it on
- 59:36Doesn't mind that. Yeah.
- 59:38And once again, like, I can identify that.
- 59:39It's even almost like I'm not upset about people that would be
- 59:42blatantly homophobic or call me out in something that wouldn't
- 59:45be as upsetting to me as someone
- 59:48actually come to terms with me
- 59:51Like good for fucking you. Yeah, it gets tiring having to
- 59:55educate people when you're like,
- 59:58yourself. But then I look at somebody like
- 1:00:01Kody. And I'm like, I don't think you
- 1:00:05fall under that umbrella. Like this isn't some curse
- 1:00:07that's been put upon you. It's like, not like being
- 1:00:13anything is a curse, but I just mean that's how he acts about
- 1:00:16it. We have come to the conclusion
- 1:00:19that Kody is a polygamist because he is a showboat and a
- 1:00:23narcissist and he wanted attention and he wanted to live
- 1:00:25some life where everybody was all about him and he got to get
- 1:00:28away with everything. And that's not the same as being
- 1:00:32born a race or a sex or a gender
- 1:00:35Like it's just he's, it's hard
- 1:00:39when he's saying the things, I'm
- 1:00:44me. I know, I know because you can
- 1:00:49the nitty gritty of it, no, you don't fall under the umbrella of
- 1:00:56Absolutely. Like Lady Gaga doesn't have any
- 1:00:58songs about Kody Brown. Susan has another wonderful
- 1:01:02quote for us. She says polygamy is not a
- 1:01:05religion. It is a domineering, weird way
- 1:01:12Yes, Susan, yes. So even though her care and
- 1:01:16energy is a bit jarring and a little off putting, I'm not mad
- 1:01:20about what she's saying. She is Colleen in the future
- 1:01:24that can speak more clearly. Yes, that's funny.
- 1:01:27She does have. Yeah, like.
- 1:01:28She has some of that energy. She could take something from
- 1:01:31her. This is the future, Colleen.
- 1:01:35Susan is the future Colleen. Yep, we go back to Kody.
- 1:01:39He says. I'm tired of people trying to
- 1:01:41thump their Bibles at me. I know all of the old cool guys
- 1:01:46in the Bible had more than one wife and God didn't judge them.
- 1:01:50Give me a break because I'm
- 1:01:52tired of asking for your permission, OK?
- 1:01:58Yep, more the same. I mean I agree with him.
- 1:02:01I'm tired of people thumping their bibles at me.
- 1:02:03But then I'm also not turning around and saying that men from
- 1:02:06the Old Testament who had multiple vibes are the reason
- 1:02:08I'm cool and I'm good. Like he's talking out of both
- 1:02:11sides of his mouth. He is.
- 1:02:12He's thumping his Bible and then
- 1:02:16at me. Susan has a retort in this back
- 1:02:19and forth, which is funny because it's not actually in
- 1:02:21person. They're just.
- 1:02:22Doing the footage back and forth, Susan says I hate them,
- 1:02:26that's all I have to add and walks away.
- 1:02:28Yes, Susan snapping. I hate them.
- 1:02:32So once again, it's like, oh God, you hate them.
- 1:02:34Like, I don't know, there's something that you're doing
- 1:02:35that's just OK. But also, yeah, like they're
- 1:02:40yeah, OK, got. It I also love that they got her
- 1:02:42to say all this on camera because it takes a certain type
- 1:02:44of person to want to be on camera or allow someone to
- 1:02:48record them saying these things on camera.
- 1:02:50Yeah. So, you know, she's got the
- 1:02:52conviction behind what she's saying, otherwise she'd be
- 1:02:55embarrassed to be saying it on a
- 1:02:58Yeah, we go to the couch again
- 1:03:01you. She's like proud of him for
- 1:03:04speaking up and saying these things.
- 1:03:05I'm proud of my husband and gets
- 1:03:08After he says give me a break because I'm tired of asking for
- 1:03:11your permission. And that says once again, it's
- 1:03:14got this theme that I agree with.
- 1:03:16I'm tired of asking for your. I don't need your permission to
- 1:03:19live my life like fuck you. So I didn't mind seeing Janelle
- 1:03:24be proud of Kody for talking like that.
- 1:03:26It's just like polygamy. Yeah.
- 1:03:30It's gross. I can relate to this in a way
- 1:03:32because I have a shit ton of tattoos.
- 1:03:35I'm heavily tattooed and I get
- 1:03:40they have a right to touch me and grab my arm or ask me what
- 1:03:44my tattoos mean. And I'm like, I don't have to
- 1:03:47fucking explain my tattoos to every Tom, Dick and Harry that
- 1:03:50just wants a reason to talk to
- 1:03:53And I also chose to put them all
- 1:03:57So I feel like I get where you're coming from here because
- 1:04:01like, I can empathize with him.
- 1:04:03Like, yeah, it's that's annoying.
- 1:04:05But at the same time, like I did choose to put those on my body.
- 1:04:09So like, I know they're going to
- 1:04:10draw some sort of attention. So yeah, I get like kind of warn
- 1:04:15about situations like this. Do you ever get anything that
- 1:04:18aligns with the permission bit?
- 1:04:20Like the first thing I think of is like, Oh my gosh, you're so
- 1:04:26One time I was cutting a boy's hair and he was a teenager and
- 1:04:33me what to do. And then he looked at his son
- 1:04:36like in the mirror across from him and said, don't you ever
- 1:04:40come home with a girl that looks like that and pointed at me.
- 1:04:45And I was like appalled. I couldn't believe that he said
- 1:04:49that right in front of me. And first of all, I'm cutting
- 1:04:51your son's hair. Second of all, how dare you?
- 1:04:53My Co worker that was standing next to me who is like a little
- 1:04:57older than I was, she stopped cutting her person's hair.
- 1:04:59And she looked at him and she goes, your son would be lucky to
- 1:05:05She is one of the nicest people that you could ever meet and
- 1:05:09your son would be lucky to ever bring someone like her home to
- 1:05:15because I didn't know what to say in the moment.
- 1:05:17And I was really young. I was probably like 19 or 20.
- 1:05:20So I didn't really have the balls to like stand up for
- 1:05:24myself yet. But This is why I like the hair
- 1:05:26industry got me like so jaded because people just think that
- 1:05:32have to take it because you know their customer.
- 1:05:35The things that people will say to your face is insane.
- 1:05:39So I can only imagine what has been said to their faces.
- 1:05:43And especially after coming out on the show and being, you know,
- 1:05:49The things we say about them on this show.
- 1:05:51But like, at the same time, like, yeah, you're putting it
- 1:05:54out there. And you know, if you don't want
- 1:05:57to hear it, then also don't put it out there.
- 1:06:01And now I've got like the balls to be like, OK, fuck off, dude.
- 1:06:06But I have had people just like,
- 1:06:09my arm to look at it and think that that's like, OK to touch
- 1:06:12me because of them. And I'm like, don't fucking
- 1:06:14touch me. That's weird.
- 1:06:15It is weird. And so I think that people,
- 1:06:18probably, especially now that this is the sixth season, think
- 1:06:22that they have a right to come
- 1:06:24conversation out of nowhere because they're a public figure.
- 1:06:29Well, just because you made yourself a public figure here
- 1:06:31doesn't mean that you want every
- 1:06:34and have a conversation with you
- 1:06:36your kids. We don't actually owe you an
- 1:06:39explanation on everything. Yeah, it's not.
- 1:06:42Just because you're doing something that's available for
- 1:06:44public consumption doesn't mean that you are a public commodity
- 1:06:47that is indebted to people to the point of owing them whatever
- 1:06:50they feel like. Like you don't.
- 1:06:53This family doesn't. We don't.
- 1:06:55You don't. I think that one thing that
- 1:06:58they've done really well is drawing the line and talking
- 1:07:00about the sex and like they did a very good job of from the
- 1:07:05very beginning saying we're not answering questions like that.
- 1:07:08We find that inappropriate and
- 1:07:12it's easy for people with their morbid curiosity to cross
- 1:07:17lines. So I think no, that's one thing
- 1:07:19they did from the start that was good.
- 1:07:22It's funny as the seasons go on because it becomes more and more
- 1:07:33years in the future from this. I'm like, Oh my God, I wish they
- 1:07:38because it's it is one of those things where it's like, well
- 1:07:40what the hell is your sex life like?
- 1:07:41Titillating to think about other people and like what they're
- 1:07:45doing behind closed doors. And I think that when you're on
- 1:07:48a reality show, there are some lines that you have to draw.
- 1:07:52Yeah, yeah, Christine gives us an update on how they did at the
- 1:07:58Oh my gosh, they sold 19 pieces of jewelry.
- 1:08:03Yeah, it's 19, so 1/5 of their minimum goal, as ramen would put
- 1:08:12whatever the fuck she said earlier.
- 1:08:14We went out of town, we travelled for it and given the
- 1:08:21profitable. Right.
- 1:08:22Like, Nope, you lost money. That's what that's called.
- 1:08:24It's called the lost, not a profit.
- 1:08:25And Christine says that doing another Expo would be torture.
- 1:08:35And I listen. I've only done 1.
- 1:08:38My God, someone would have to pay me a lot of money to go do
- 1:08:42works for them, good for them. If it doesn't work for you, it's
- 1:08:47Yeah, I've only been to them as a consumer and they're even
- 1:08:51rough. Exactly in that when I leave one
- 1:08:58and that's being a person there not working.
- 1:09:00I get annoyed being hounded to buy things like, Oh my God,
- 1:09:03Everywhere you turn, someone's trying to tap you on the
- 1:09:05shoulder and tell you about their product.
- 1:09:07Imagine walking by an Expo and you get tapped on the shoulder
- 1:09:18is me, and this little hump there is Meri.
- 1:09:21This hump is Janelle. This hump's Christine.
- 1:09:23And then you've got Kody walking around being like, I'm here to
- 1:09:30Kody was always the salesman. I'm putting this in quotes.
- 1:09:34Sorry you guys can't see air quotes.
- 1:09:36He's the salesman. I wonder how many of the 19
- 1:09:39pieces Kody sold. That would be an interesting
- 1:09:41stat. Meri, if you're listening,
- 1:09:43please tell us. Please let us know.
- 1:09:45We hear Meri say that she doesn't understand why Robyn
- 1:09:49thinks everyone else needs to be invested like they are in this
- 1:09:58this, but she just doesn't understand why Robyn is pushing
- 1:10:00so hard on it. And especially after a weekend
- 1:10:07It didn't go well. And yeah, they gave it a fair
- 1:10:12shot. Yep, take it as a learning
- 1:10:14opportunity. And Meri acknowledges it could
- 1:10:24I don't really know what makes me feel something, but maybe I'm
- 1:10:30I see Meri and Robyn having a tight bond and I want that, but
- 1:10:34the amount of work it takes to have a tight bond with them is
- 1:10:48I felt it was hard because at first it seemed like she was
- 1:10:53talking about committed relationships period.
- 1:10:55Like across the board like that. She feels like relationships are
- 1:10:59And then I'm like, but is it just about Meri and Robyn?
- 1:11:02Because at this point, I don't even think that she's close with
- 1:11:06Everyone's like, oh, Christine and Janelle are super close.
- 1:11:09And like, I don't think they were that super close.
- 1:11:11I think that they work together as sister wives to raise
- 1:11:14children and run a household. But I don't think they're like
- 1:11:19I think they just worked well together for a long time,
- 1:11:22especially with Christine being, you know, the one that was
- 1:11:25taking care of the children and teaching the children.
- 1:11:27And then Janelle went out into the workforce and then came
- 1:11:31home. And I think that they
- 1:11:33appreciated each other. Yes, I think they had a good
- 1:11:36like symbiotic relationship. Agreed.
- 1:11:38And then I think as they got older and as their kids got
- 1:11:41older and the kids are taken out of the picture, that things fell
- 1:11:48again, it seems like. But I think that they kind of,
- 1:11:53necessarily a strong friendship relationship.
- 1:11:56But I think what Christine is saying here is that she sees
- 1:12:02that at least two of the sister wives, Meri and Robyn, have this
- 1:12:09does not have that right now. But she knows that it would be
- 1:12:15she's harping on like, needing to be closer to each other and
- 1:12:20I think what she is probably feeling is the need to just get
- 1:12:27physically close again so that they can get emotionally close
- 1:12:35working out. And even if that emotional
- 1:12:37closeness isn't best friends or whatever, the way that her and
- 1:12:43basis, getting your machine well oiled and whatever you do feel a
- 1:12:55feel that. And to have that relationship
- 1:12:57kind of in your face and know that they're working together
- 1:13:01nicely and knowing you don't have that, like obviously you're
- 1:13:08It was an interesting sound bite.
- 1:13:09It felt dramatic, but also kind of like Christine.
- 1:13:14She's dramatic. I don't know it, I don't know, I
- 1:13:20then obviously throughout this episode, she's having these come
- 1:13:34got to give, but she's not quite sure what yet.
- 1:13:38After Christine sound bite we get some more lovely words from
- 1:13:42Robyn and she says I know for us to be successful and united
- 1:13:46as a family, we need to be in business together.
- 1:13:50And I was like WTF? If ever I've heard a WTF moment
- 1:13:56on this show, it is. You know, for the family to be
- 1:14:04I'm sorry, the vast majority of most people are not in business
- 1:14:08with their family like I do not.
- 1:14:11She's just trying. She's grasping at any straw to
- 1:14:13make this thing happen so that
- 1:14:15expect everyone else to do all
- 1:14:17I guess. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:14:19It's a very weird thing to say.
- 1:14:21She says that she thinks it would help her learn how to
- 1:14:25speak with Janelle and Christine if they work together, and she
- 1:14:33This isn't just about business, it's about keeping the family
- 1:14:37together. Yeah, she says that she prays
- 1:14:40for inspiration from God to speak to Christine and Janelle
- 1:14:52why aren't you praying for ways to speak to your family in ways
- 1:14:56that you speak to your family? Like, not about the business.
- 1:15:00Like, she's a mess. She's a disaster.
- 1:15:03She's trying to make Fetch happen, trying to make this my
- 1:15:11God, Robyn. She's just a hoping.
- 1:15:13She's hoping And a brand. Yeah.
- 1:15:15And now we're going to go to Meri's house, where Robyn shows
- 1:15:19up early to Saul's first birthday party.
- 1:15:22We've got Meri. You know how they like to show
- 1:15:27up some things, moving some decor, some decorations.
- 1:15:30And then Robyn comes in with Saul on her hip looking like
- 1:15:33she's barely able to function coming into the house.
- 1:15:37And it is interesting. I don't want to say interesting.
- 1:15:411 year old birthday party decorations on the island.
- 1:15:44And at first I was like, are they just getting together to
- 1:15:46prep or like plan for the party?
- 1:15:48But then it's like, no, the party's actually happening.
- 1:15:49Like I didn't feel like that was really all that clear to me.
- 1:15:52But then it became clear. Yeah, they're setting up for the
- 1:16:03been a year since the offer was made.
- 1:16:05I'm going to talk to her when we're getting ready for the
- 1:16:08party, so the moment is here. The.
- 1:16:10Moment's here for a crucial conversation, and Meri tells
- 1:16:13Robyn that she's struggled because she doesn't know where
- 1:16:24Yeah. I mean, OK, that's what she
- 1:16:28wanted. She wanted you to feel that way.
- 1:16:30Is it? If you take your up on it, then
- 1:16:33she's doing this wonderful thing
- 1:16:35And if you don't, then wow, you didn't even take me up on my
- 1:16:38surrogacy. Offer.
- 1:16:39Yeah. I mean, it's your fault you
- 1:16:40don't have another baby. You could have had one.
- 1:16:42I could have helped you out. I offered and Robyn says I just
- 1:16:46wanted you to have a choice. Every woman should have the
- 1:16:50choice, and you didn't have that
- 1:16:54Sounds very woke for Robyn. She also says I would be excited
- 1:16:59to have kids with you. I imagined raising my kids with
- 1:17:03sister wives, Like, that's what you're doing, isn't it?
- 1:17:09They don't need to have kids the
- 1:17:12She says Janelle and Christine
- 1:17:16I'd love to do it with you. What she's implying here is that
- 1:17:20because Janelle and Christine's kids aren't her new baby's age,
- 1:17:26they're not technically raising kids together.
- 1:17:28Truly is 3 at this point. And Saul's turning one.
- 1:17:32Yeah, you could be raising your kid with Christine's kid.
- 1:17:37You're raising all the kids as a
- 1:17:39I'm so fucking confused by this.
- 1:17:42She's got Brianna, Aurora and Dayton.
- 1:17:44These kids are the same age as Janelle and Christine's younger
- 1:17:48children. I mean, this is not like there's
- 1:17:53that's not happening here. No, it's like we have some
- 1:17:56pregnancy packed type of thing that she is implying.
- 1:17:59Like she'd rather have a baby baby with somebody and raise
- 1:18:03babies at the same time. Oh, so those two babies are
- 1:18:06going to be raised differently as siblings because.
- 1:18:09Why? Because now she's part of this
- 1:18:12So it's like her new crop. It's like her second crop of
- 1:18:15children. That's literally what it feels
- 1:18:18And she wants to do it with someone else.
- 1:18:20That's why she wanted Sister Wives, she claims.
- 1:18:22You know, whatever. That's literally what you're
- 1:18:25doing. You have sister wives, now raise
- 1:18:29right now when you're not. Figure out how to talk to
- 1:18:32Christine without talking to her through the business.
- 1:18:35Yes, you dumbass. What a great example of
- 1:18:38something that they could be building a relationship on
- 1:18:40having their kids come together. We've talked about this multiple
- 1:18:44dates, do the thing, build a relationship.
- 1:18:46You don't have to be the closest people to have a perfectly
- 1:18:50adequate relationship with someone.
- 1:18:51A perfectly fulfilling relationship in multiple ways.
- 1:18:57Saul just turned 1. If you even got pregnant right
- 1:19:08because she's saying Meri's saying she would still want the
- 1:19:12baby to be her egg. By the time that were to happen,
- 1:19:19Your kids have the same age gap as Truly and marries So what the
- 1:19:29It reminds me of like when friends because their sister
- 1:19:31wives, it is different, but this
- 1:19:33Yeah. Like you said, pregnancy pack,
- 1:19:34like when girlfriends that are
- 1:19:38are girls get pregnant at the same time and they're so excited
- 1:19:40about it because it's like all
- 1:19:43know? But it wouldn't be that way
- 1:19:45either way. If you're carrying her baby, you
- 1:19:47can't be carrying. Right, it's not she's not having
- 1:19:50her own baby. Yeah, although she would know
- 1:19:53that from some of Robyns language.
- 1:19:54She's so dumb. And it is.
- 1:19:57There's so many elements to this
- 1:19:59always saw herself having a boy.
- 1:20:01Yeah. And then is looking at little
- 1:20:04Saul. Yes.
- 1:20:04Like, who's playing with the window blinds.
- 1:20:06Yeah. And she's like, I wonder if Saul
- 1:20:10And I'm like, just like you were saying.
- 1:20:13Yes. Hello.
- 1:20:13Why aren't you doing that right now, helping to raise him as
- 1:20:16your own son, I thought. That you guys did.
- 1:20:18I thought that was the whole point.
- 1:20:20That's their whole point, supposedly.
- 1:20:22Yeah, and she wonders if having this close bond with him is what
- 1:20:31Then go over fucking and also, I
- 1:20:34hate to say it, but it's like,
- 1:20:36doing all day? Go over and watch The Price is
- 1:20:39Right every God damn morning that you feel like it was
- 1:20:41solved. Take him off of his mom's hands
- 1:20:43for a few minutes. You know what I mean?
- 1:20:45Like enjoy the time. Like there's just so many things
- 1:20:47that could solve these people's problems so easily.
- 1:20:49It's really just spending some
- 1:20:51Well then she says too. I'm 42 and I'm still not sure.
- 1:20:55And here I am talking about this
- 1:20:59I mean, she wouldn't be the first person to have a baby in
- 1:21:01her early 40s. But if that's a big motivator
- 1:21:03for you, I mean, many people don't want to be continuing to
- 1:21:06raise their children into their 60s.
- 1:21:08Like, it's very reasonable to be
- 1:21:10this. It's too late in my life.
- 1:21:12I think we've said it before, but I think it's very obvious
- 1:21:15here that she does not want to have a baby.
- 1:21:19And she even uses past tense when she's talking about in
- 1:21:24vitro. It just makes me think,
- 1:21:26obviously, that the decision's already been made because you
- 1:21:29wouldn't be speaking in past tense at all.
- 1:21:31And then they're kind of both crying and Robyn says again, You
- 1:21:41have a choice, too. And then the party starts.
- 1:21:49Everybody. Yep, I love this show because
- 1:21:53then it's like, OK, there was this somber moment that we're
- 1:21:57supposed to maybe feel something, although what all I
- 1:22:03like party, everyone's here, hats are on, people are throwing
- 1:22:08family chaos. So everything seems disjointed
- 1:22:15fine. I didn't like.
- 1:22:16I need to move on. No, because this next part is so
- 1:22:24All I noticed was what they do next.
- 1:22:27Yes, Robyn has everyone write down their hopes and wishes for
- 1:22:31Sauls life on little pieces of paper, little whatever pieces of
- 1:22:39such an eloquent person. It's such a thoughtful,
- 1:22:41insightful person. Sometimes I just get disturbed
- 1:22:48Like, that's what you wrote down, you fucking moron.
- 1:22:51Yeah, but whatever. So they all write their well
- 1:22:54wishes on these pieces of paper and their goal.
- 1:22:56They're not doing anything cute with them, like, oh, let's put
- 1:23:02That's. What I thought they were going
- 1:23:04I totally thought that it was for him.
- 1:23:06Like when you are going to college, when you're where Logan
- 1:23:14family wrote down what they hoped for you in your life.
- 1:23:16Like that would be a thoughtful gift.
- 1:23:18Or put in his baby book A scrapbook.
- 1:23:20Yeah. Absolutely, but no.
- 1:23:22Nope, Nope, Nope, Nope. We got to add to the landfills.
- 1:23:27We got to add to the trash on
- 1:23:29the streets of Vegas. I was going to say, we're not
- 1:23:31even making it to the landfill.
- 1:23:32We're making it into the mouths of birds and into the lakes and
- 1:23:36the streams and the desert and the oceans and the forests.
- 1:23:40We are about to see something magical.
- 1:23:43Oh magical. They are going to tie these well
- 1:23:50Yes, they are. And we're going to walk out into
- 1:24:01I feel like Robyn's trying to remake the snowflake kite moment
- 1:24:10And now it's going to be this. It's going to be.
- 1:24:12Like remember that time And it's like, OK, I have been to a
- 1:24:16funeral for a an infant where we did this and it was very moving
- 1:24:20and touching because it was like, Oh my gosh, like a once in
- 1:24:27and let them go into the air for no reason to pollute and kill
- 1:24:32animals and Oh my God. And the balloons were like a one
- 1:24:36So they were all different colors.
- 1:24:38And it was red, yellow, blue, like all the priMeri colors.
- 1:24:42So dumb. It was so dumb.
- 1:24:44Yeah, I hate that shit. I do too.
- 1:24:47I honestly was like, I think we knew better at this time too.
- 1:24:51It's 2015. Yeah, I'm pretty sure we knew
- 1:24:53better. We knew better if it calls for
- 1:24:59In my opinion, this is definitely.
- 1:25:01This isn't even close to that. Well, they have different ways
- 1:25:06biodegradable balloons and like different things that you could
- 1:25:09do that are more environmentally friendly.
- 1:25:11I just think in 2015 there were probably better options.
- 1:25:16Oh yes, in 2015 I was aware that you're not just supposed to let
- 1:25:20balloons go into the atmosphere, but like I said, for
- 1:25:24a significant enough reason, I wouldn't say a word for this.
- 1:25:29Fuck you. Yep.
- 1:25:31Yep, Yep, Yep. We're getting close to the end
- 1:25:39episode. Where do we have to go?
- 1:25:41Where do we always end episodes and seasons and start seasons?
- 1:25:46We have to go to the cul-de-sac.
- 1:25:48Yet again. Oh my God.
- 1:25:50When they get to the cul-de-sac, Kody tells us that he's hoping
- 1:25:55So we're all going to draw names for gifts right here, right now
- 1:26:00for the holidays. We were told at the beginning of
- 1:26:05I understand the symbolism here. I think it's a bit much.
- 1:26:10I think it's 60 days before Christmas.
- 1:26:12So you're talking like almost two months before Christmas.
- 1:26:15Maybe that's not early. I don't know.
- 1:26:18I don't think I've ever drawn names for Christmas gifts at the
- 1:26:24got him. I wonder if she's still making
- 1:26:28She probably is, but that has nothing to do with this.
- 1:26:30I don't. Know who knows when this was
- 1:26:32actually shot too? It could have just been a good
- 1:26:36Yeah, that makes sense. Logan was there and I'm curious
- 1:26:40if Logan came home for Saul's birthday.
- 1:26:42You know when you go off to college and you are in November
- 1:26:45at the beginning of November of your first year of college?
- 1:26:47Are you going home for a one year old's birthday?
- 1:26:49It's only 30 minutes away. Yeah, I know.
- 1:26:52I'm such a bad person. I still would probably.
- 1:26:53No, I might. I probably would go home.
- 1:26:55What am I saying? I mean, it's Logan.
- 1:26:57He definitely would. Yeah, he's much better person
- 1:26:59than me. Yeah, they always draw names
- 1:27:02every year, I guess, for Christmas gifts.
- 1:27:04And it's an exciting thing to do.
- 1:27:06And everyone gets all jazzed about it.
- 1:27:08And so they thought it would be a good way to get the kids
- 1:27:13excited and keep them invested and keep the hope alive.
- 1:27:17And Christine literally says, like, yes, we're doing this to
- 1:27:25happening. Give them some hope.
- 1:27:26They have to keep giving their kids these.
- 1:27:29False. These things, I guess yes.
- 1:27:31Maybe it's not false, maybe it's just fabricated.
- 1:27:34I don't really know. It's weird.
- 1:27:37Leon says that all they want for Christmas is to be in the home.
- 1:27:42Yeah, I don't want anything else
- 1:27:44for Christmas. So selfless of Leon.
- 1:27:46That's what everyone says about Leon.
- 1:27:48Totally selfless. Anyway, another clip when
- 1:27:51they're going, they're showing a
- 1:27:54and Leon had this one. Another one that stood out to me
- 1:27:57that was so cute was Savannah.
- 1:28:00And she's sitting on the couch
- 1:28:02she's excited to walk to the other homes instead of asking
- 1:28:05for a ride. And she's like, I just don't
- 1:28:07want to. I have to ask my mom for a ride
- 1:28:09when I want to go over to Christine's house.
- 1:28:11And I was like, that's so adorable.
- 1:28:13And I have a soft spot for Savannah because she's so cute.
- 1:28:15Yes, other than the box of rocks, but.
- 1:28:18Well, she did ruin your life with that box of rocks.
- 1:28:20But, and you know, whoever she
- 1:28:25we'll have to see. We'll have to see.
- 1:28:26And it better be better be worth
- 1:28:30Better be better than a box of
- 1:28:32Oh my God, that's hilarious. Oh, Savannah, if you're if you
- 1:28:36ever listen to this as an adult,
- 1:28:39terrible things we've said about
- 1:28:42that your box of rocks severely damaged Kimber.
- 1:28:45But I'm OK with it. I'm fine.
- 1:28:47Oh my gosh, I just, it's one of the funnier things.
- 1:28:50Of course, you know, to wrap up the episode, the parents talk
- 1:28:53about being all in on making this happen for their family.
- 1:28:58They'll do whatever it takes, even work multiple jobs.
- 1:29:02Oh, that's right, Janelle says a
- 1:29:04Even if we have to work three jobs and it's like Robyn doesn't
- 1:29:06even work one job. Yeah, but also that has no like
- 1:29:11bearing on if the homes will be finished or not.
- 1:29:16What is your third job going to be going and working this
- 1:29:19fucking construction site? Hammers and nails, yeah.
- 1:29:23Making some holes in your walls so your kids can get in their
- 1:29:26bedrooms. It doesn't matter how many
- 1:29:27tricks Robyn turns on the street, their house is going to
- 1:29:30be done when it's done. Although maybe Robyn could go
- 1:29:33give the foreman at the construction site a little bonus
- 1:29:37for being done ahead of time. Oh there you go, that might help
- 1:29:41get things moving. Or he would just be like I never
- 1:29:44want to see this crazy bitch that offered me ABJ behind the
- 1:29:47toilet port a potty again. So we're going to finish these
- 1:29:49fucking homes now, everybody. And he will be dealing with that
- 1:29:53blowjob the rest of his life. Oh.
- 1:29:58Snap. OK darling.
- 1:30:00Oh, because he will just be so
- 1:30:03memories. Oh, this is all alleged.
- 1:30:04This is a story we're making up in our own minds.
- 1:30:06Our own imaginations are coming up with this.
- 1:30:09Robyn did not offer the foreman a blowjob behind the porta
- 1:30:13potty. OK, we made this up.
- 1:30:17Special shout out to our legal
- 1:30:19I think it's time for your mustard seed and shit stain.
- 1:30:22Which is funny because we are asking others to contribute
- 1:30:25their mustard seed and shit stain on this episode.
- 1:30:27Friendly reminder, if you're listening right now, pull up
- 1:30:30whatever you're listening to and
- 1:30:32Who's your mustard seed and who's your shit stain?
- 1:30:35We'll see if you have any similarities to ours.
- 1:30:38I have a suspicion that there will be.
- 1:30:40I am so excited to read these because this is one of those
- 1:30:43episodes where they're kind of
- 1:30:46Again, we talk about a few different things, so there's a
- 1:30:49lot of options here. Absolutely, there are some
- 1:30:52options. Would you like me to go first?
- 1:30:54OK. As is tradition sometimes.
- 1:31:01My shit stain. I'm going to start with a shit
- 1:31:03stain. Oh yes.
- 1:31:05It goes to Robyn. Oh, yeah.
- 1:31:07I don't think that's a shock at all, the surrogacy offer being
- 1:31:10brought up again. She just wanted to give, you
- 1:31:13know, an option to marry. Just wanted you to have the
- 1:31:17option. Yeah.
- 1:31:19OK, we get it, you want her to
- 1:31:22what decision she makes because she already said she'll feel
- 1:31:24guilty if she doesn't. But if she does, she's probably
- 1:31:27going to be, you know, your little bitch rest of her life.
- 1:31:30Like either way, Meri fails here.
- 1:31:33Same thing with the business. The business is failing.
- 1:31:37Robyn's going to start blaming
- 1:31:40she's not getting their support anymore.
- 1:31:41Everyone's kind of backing out
- 1:31:44So her business is failing. She is just a failure all the
- 1:31:48way around and multiple senses
- 1:31:52She won't take ownership for it.
- 1:31:54Good shit stain. She's a shit stain.
- 1:31:56My shit stain is going to go to her loving husband, her devoted
- 1:32:01husband, Kody Brown, because he is filling Robyn's head with
- 1:32:08delusions and illusions about this business.
- 1:32:11And if he stopped doing that because he has said in this
- 1:32:14episode that he doesn't even enjoy it.
- 1:32:15So as far as a hobby business, he's not signed up.
- 1:32:19But she is allowed to have this fucked up mindset because of
- 1:32:25him, not only about the business, but about the
- 1:32:28surrogacy with Meri. It's like he's continuing to put
- 1:32:33And I guess in this episode they didn't knock us over the head
- 1:32:35about him saying that they have to make a decision and blah,
- 1:32:38blah, blah. But I feel like a big reason
- 1:32:41Robyn gets to be so out of touch with reality is because Kody's
- 1:32:49I'm just as crazy as you. I don't know if he did anything
- 1:32:53all that terrible this episode as far as specific things.
- 1:32:56Yeah, he feeds the delusions for sure, but then also him just
- 1:33:02coming out and saying that he hates this and it's not fun for
- 1:33:06him. I'm like, you have been egging
- 1:33:19Janelle. He kind of doesn't ever help
- 1:33:23them follow out their dreams, but gives them the false hope
- 1:33:26that there could be a dream that plays out just like he does for
- 1:33:30his fucking kids. And it could be the edit, but we
- 1:33:41Christine doesn't like we need
- 1:33:42to be doing other things. He was more than happy to say
- 1:33:44that to Christine last episode, being like, we're all stressed
- 1:33:47and we're all whatever. But then when the other wives
- 1:33:49are like, I think I should be doing something that's money
- 1:33:51making and probably more aligned
- 1:33:54be backing that up. Then he.
- 1:33:56Really should. He gets my shit stain.
- 1:34:00Mustard seed, darling. What are you going to put in the
- 1:34:02ground and watch grow? I think that I have been doing
- 1:34:06this a lot lately, but Christine
- 1:34:09seed. Yeah, OK.
- 1:34:11She is just, I don't know if she's been on one, like she's
- 1:34:16just been on one in a way that makes me happy.
- 1:34:21She says something about the tight bond between Meri and
- 1:34:25Robyn and how she's recognizing that she's going to have to put
- 1:34:28in more work and that it's a lot of work if she wants to have
- 1:34:33yourself here, OK? OK, OK, OK.
- 1:34:36She also comes out and says that she can see people's eyes
- 1:34:42glazing over when Robyn's giving her spiels to them.
- 1:34:46And that had me cracking up because she's saying this stuff
- 1:34:51on the couch in front of Robyn. Like she's been saying this
- 1:34:57stuff and it's so funny to me. Christine says that if she's not
- 1:35:06her eyes and walk out, that she is showing support.
- 1:35:08So she says a couple of these really funny, almost just like
- 1:35:17She's just literally saying the the funniest shit that I'd be
- 1:35:21embarrassed to say in front of someone, Like, oh, I might hurt
- 1:35:24their feelings, but she just doesn't give a shit anymore.
- 1:35:26And I love that. And then she also has like, oh,
- 1:35:29the best little mistake ever getting my little library.
- 1:35:32Yes, yeah. That's true.
- 1:35:34That's true. She just was funny again this
- 1:35:36episode. I like her little quips she's
- 1:35:38been sharing with us lately. She did make me laugh out loud
- 1:35:43Yeah. My mustard seed is going to go
- 1:35:48seed for Janelle to water. She is earthy.
- 1:35:51She likes to do gardening. Love that.
- 1:35:54In the conversations, similar to like Christine, she's trying to
- 1:35:58be honest about how she needs to have income and that her
- 1:36:01interest is something that she already went and took courses,
- 1:36:12But she is letting Robyn know how it should be and what it
- 1:36:15should be, and I appreciate that.
- 1:36:16I also appreciated her joking about the Expo and when she was
- 1:36:22like, yeah, we've got to sell like 120 of these.
- 1:36:25And I'm not nervous about that at all.
- 1:36:27She looked right at the camera and it was at the Expo, Wasn't
- 1:36:35sitting in the booth area and Oh my God, that was great.
- 1:36:38She was being very honest and very funny about that.
- 1:36:40I also assumed that we didn't see footage of her home because
- 1:36:44she probably went with the flow.
- 1:36:45I mean, even the rooms that didn't have doors, she was OK
- 1:36:48with. You know, I guess maybe I have a
- 1:36:50little bit of a low bar for Janelle.
- 1:36:51I just need her to give me a little, a little a little
- 1:36:54something in an episode and I can give her my mustard seeds.
- 1:36:57So thank you for that, Janelle.
- 1:36:58I think that her and Christine are both just kind of over shit
- 1:37:01in their own way and they're showing it in their own little
- 1:37:06Our keep sweet moment this week comes to us from YouTube.

- 1:38:26was using on the mirror in the Expo.
- 1:38:30She was putting a decal on with what looked like a cut out from
- 1:38:34a cricket. So you know what?
- 1:38:36Meri possessed me and I am just ready to get down with the
