- 0:23SPEAKER_01: Check them out at def dash charts.com or def underscore charts on Twitter and Instagram.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: This is your host, Cameron Clark, and we have a busy show.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: We are going to go through the last week in Major League Baseball, some of the projected, and I'm saying that projected in air quotes because things are subject to change with a few days left in the regular season.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: We will recap UFC 331, some of the biggest fights.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: There was a massive upset on that card.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: And then I will have a new guest join me to talk all college football week three and then do our tail, the tailgate for week four.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: So let's get to it.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: So let's start in Major League Baseball.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: The Boston Red Sox traveled to Tampa Bay this weekend.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: They won the opening game Friday before ultimately the Rays won Saturday and Sunday.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: The Rays were able to extend their AL East lead up to six games over my Yankees.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: Tampa held Boston to one run Saturday and Sunday.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Next up for Tampa, a four-game series.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: You guessed it in New York, basically to decide the division.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: If the Rays beat the Yankees one time in this four-game series, the division is going to Tampa.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: Uh, and the and the Yankees will most likely be facing the Red Sox in the wild card round.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Speaking of the Yankees, they took on the Arizona Diamondbacks last weekend, and it was a very meaningful series for both of these teams.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: The Yankees were looking to keep pace with the Rays in the AL East.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Meanwhile, Arizona really needed to keep winning to keep pace in the NL wildcard mix.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: New York won the opening game Friday, and then the Diamondbacks ended up scoring 13 runs over two days, including a two-run home run walk-off uh on Saturday night, and then a grand slam from Nolan Arenado on Sunday to help Arizona get four games back of the last wildcard spot that currently belongs to the Philadelphia Phillies.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: The Phillies occupied the same division as the Atlanta Braves, who clenched the NL East over the weekend with a resounding sweep of the Houston Astros.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: The Braves outscored the Astros 16-7 in this three-game set, which not only did it clinch the East for Atlanta, but suddenly the Texas Rangers, with a week left in the season, hold a one-game lead in the AL East.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Those same Phillies that I just mentioned needing to continue to win to fend off those pesky Arizona Diamondbacks took two out of three from the New York Mets in New York to set up a very, very critical last week against the Rays and the Brewers, the two best teams in baseball.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: And lastly, the White Sox, they continue to maintain pace in the AL Central.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: They are only one game back of Cleveland and three games above the Astros for the last wild card spot in the AL.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: So they took two out of three from Detroit, but this will set up a very, very meaningful week, not only for the AL West, but the AL Central.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: And then whoever loses that AL Central race looks like they should be able to get that last wild card spot.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: So if the Rangers are able to hold off the Astros, that's going to be really interesting.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: They look like a team, you know, two months ago that was dead in the water, and they have caught the Houston Astros.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: That's really more saying more about the Houston Astros, I believe, than it is about the Texas Rangers.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: And then in the AL Central, the Guardians and the White Sox have been playing back and forth peekaboo all the last couple months of the season.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: And now the White Sox are on the outside looking in in terms of the AL Central race.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: So as of today, as of this recording on September 22nd, there's still obviously a week's worth of games to be played.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: The AL wild card matchups are the Yankees and the Red Sox, and the White Sox and the Rangers, as the Rangers again currently hold a half game lead over the Houston Astros as of today.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: In the NL, we have the Philadelphia Phillies who have that big week ahead facing the Brewers and the Rays.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: They will most likely be traveling to Atlanta to take on their nemesis within the NL East, the Atlanta Braves.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: And then the other NL wildcard series looks like it will be the Padres and the Cubs, as long as nothing major shakes up there.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: But like I said, there's still a week left.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: We will get through all of these postseason matchups next week once the seeding is finalized.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: But as of today, Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox, Rangers, and the wild cards for the AL, along with the Rays and the Guardians winning the Central and the East.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: And then in the NL, the Phillies, the Braves, the Padres, and the Cubs, with the Brewers and the Dodgers winning the NL West and the NL Central.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: So now let's go jump over to the UFC.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: UFC 331 took place this last Saturday, September 19th.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: And there was a title fight on this card featuring Joshua Van and his flyweight title belt and his battle against and I really what is a rematch, even though I don't think this was really marketed as a rematch, because in the first fight, Alejandro Pentoja broke his arm pretty early.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: I don't remember if it was in the first round, um, it could have been in the second round, but Alejandro Pantoja broke his arm in that first initial fight against Joshua Van.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Joshua Van was able to win the vacant flyweight title belt.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: And then on my scorecard for this rematch, or you know, really first full healthy edition that we got to see these fighters match up in the flyweight division.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: I had this as three to two in favor of Joshua Van.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: One judge did give it uh all five rounds to Joshua Van.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: You can never be too surprised in the UFC.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: Uh, but I did have Joshua Van winning this fight.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: He looked very dominant the the longer the fight went on.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: He won round four and round five.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: Overall, a very impressive and dominant performance from the still reigning champion Joshua Van of that flyweight division.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: Maybe my most anticipated fight of the night, though, was Armand Sarukian and Mauricio Ruffy.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: And Armand Sarukian got an electric knockout on Ruff in the first round, which this could then set up a pretty big title fight between Armand and Justin Gagey.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Um still to be seen.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: UFC usually does matchmaking on Tuesdays.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: So uh we have a few cards already booked out, but maybe um because of how quick that fight happened and the minimal amount of damage that Sarukian most likely took, we could maybe see this in December on that December 335 card.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: Um still waiting to waiting to see what we see in November and December in the UFC.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: But most likely I would anticipate that Armand Sarukian has now earned a title shot against Justin Highlight uh Gagey, but it's remaining to be seen if that actually takes place or not.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: The biggest upset and probably the fight that garnered the most social media attention Saturday night was Sean Saraff uh going against Gable Stevenson in the heavyweight division.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: So, for those that do not know, I'll give you a little bit of backstory.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Gable Stevenson is a former Olympian.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Um, he has fought in other fight promotions before.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: He is a very decorated wrestler, um, takedown specialist, um, not really a uh striker per se, but he can get up and scrap a little bit.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: The question about Gable Stevenson, I don't even know if it's a question, the asterisk I will say on his character record is that he was convicted.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: Let me just double check this before I say something that may not be true, but I I want to be sure that I say this correctly.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Um, Gable Stevenson was arrested in June of 2019 on suspicion of sexual assault, but a year later, prosecutors dropped that case without filing criminal charges.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Uh, a woman accused Gable Stevenson of rape in June of 2019.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Uh, Gable Stevenson and one of his uh teammates, Dylan Martinez, were arrested by Minneapolis police on suspicion of criminal sexual misconduct.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: The University of Minnesota suspended both of them during this investigation, but ultimately neither of them faced criminal charges.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: So there's really two likely outcomes there.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: Regardless, he was in that position where someone was accusing him of sexual assault, and he was by far the biggest favorite on this card at closed at about minus 2,000.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: Um, and Sean Saraf is a Palestinian American who is also a former U.S.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Marine, and in about 30 seconds, absolutely ended Gable Stevenson.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: He sent that man to the underworld, he knocked Gable Stevenson out clean, cold cut.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: Cold cuts like he got him from the deli.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: He knocked that man out into oblivion and it sparked an enormous social media reaction that I do not know the UFC was prepared for because they have been very excited about the prospect of Gable Stevenson uh being a you know noteworthy fighter on their roster, especially with Tom Aspinall not actively fighting in the heavyweight division and other uh, you know, uh most especially John Jones.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: But man, that knockout was one of the most electric knockouts that I've seen in quite some time, just from the anticipation for Gable, uh from the UFC side for how big of an underdog Sean Saraff was, just really, really incredible performance from Sean Saraff.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Uh, a few other notable performances.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: Uh, Marlon Vera got a knockout in the Bantamweight division on Canadian Charles Jordan, and Patricio Pitbull got a knockout as well of Doho Choi in the flyweight division.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: So, what is next in the UFC?
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: Well, this weekend on September 26th, there is a UFC fight night event with the main event of Raul Rosas, who is a um still up-and-coming prospect against Ryan Barcelos.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: And then October 3rd, we have UFC 332, which is headlined by the women's division Natalie Silva and Wang Kong.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: Coming up, we have a new guest joining the Tailgate Cam podcast.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: And like I said, we will break down everything re pertaining to college football week three, and then give you our tail, the tailgate locks for week four.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Stick around.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: The Tailgate Cam podcast is excited to welcome in a new guest on this episode.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: That's my boy Chevy.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: What's up, Chevy?
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: How you doing, man?
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: What's up, man?
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: I'm happy to be a part of the the podcast tonight.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Um, I hope we won't do no arguing, but let's see.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: We'll see.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: We'll see.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: Uh, Chevy is as big of a college football fan as I am, so I thought it made a lot of sense for Chevy to come and talk about college football week three and week four.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Before we get into any of that, Chevy, introduce yourself to the tailgate listeners.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: Maybe like a favorite hobby, something you'd like to do, who your favorite sports teams are, whatever you would like to distinguish yourself as.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: Cool.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: So, me, um, like he said, I'm Chevy, as y'all can see on the screen for the listeners, Chevy No Play.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: That's whatever everybody calls me.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: Well, I really call myself that, but whatever.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: It's a long story behind that name.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: But uh, yeah, man, I'm a Florida State fan, uh depressed Florida State fan right now.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: But hopefully it's light at the end of the tunnel.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: I gotta wait till November.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: I thought they would have pulled up the plug many, many times.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: So I don't even know if I gotta wait till November.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: I don't even know if this is gonna happen.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: But um, Florida State fan, all sports.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: Uh Cam don't know this, but in college basketball, I'm also a Georgetown fan.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Um, there we go.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: Alan Iverson, that's my favorite athlete ever.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: So I just used to, when he left, I just stuck with Georgetown, but they suck now.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Um my favorite hobby, if I'm not watching college football, I'm playing college football.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Um, that's what I paused to do tonight.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: So uh I'm just proud to be happy to be here, proud of my boy Cam for getting his thing rolling.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: And um, let's go.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: Let's get into it.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: So uh we'll start college football week three.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: We had a few bigger games than others, some interesting results.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: The one that obviously dominates the conversations across social media, across all the football chatter from this weekend was LSU Ole Miss.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: So the first time Lane Kiffin gets to face his old Ole Miss team, and Trinidad Chambless made sure that LSU knew who he was again.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: Uh LSU ended up losing this game 32 to 24.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Um, my first reaction to this is like, do you feel like this gives you gives either side like a uh win in this divorce settlement?
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: Or does it does more need to happen before one team can claim victory?
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: Well, I really think it depends on what side of the coin you are.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: You are.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: So like with Pete and the boys, he like, see, I told you, for one, he probably like looking at everybody, because like everybody was behind him anyway, because like he was the coach, all right, let's rally the troops behind you.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: But also he probably can look at Atman and be like, no, no, no.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: I was just as big of this last year as Lane was.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: So for him, he probably like, I hope he don't feel this way.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: But he probably like, I made it and I've arrived.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Now I finally put my stamp on this.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: Because if he would have lost that game, I feel like the season would have gone on a down spiral.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: Because like this was their Super Bowl.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: Um, now if you Lane, Lane probably like, this was their Super Bowl.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: So of course they're gonna beat me.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: They went for two.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: Like, why would you go for two?
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: Um, a lot of people think they went for two because he thought if Lane scored, Lane would have gone for two.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: But it's just like you went for two because you know you had you had to win that game.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: You at home, Lane already saying what he said at the postgame was like, I had to leave for it to get this pack.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: So like I don't think none of us know, except like from the people on the outside looking in, we all would be like, oh, okay, in December, we'll see how that shapes out.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: But if you Pete and the boys, he probably like, yeah, let's ride.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: That's probably like a big sigh of relief, too.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, yeah, we fucking first we had to play Louisville, yeah, then the cupcake, and then we had to play LSU.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: So he probably like, all right, now the season can start.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: And I think that's bad.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: But Lane, I probably think he just like, all right, Texas A and then, let's go.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: We LSU, everybody gonna hate us anyway.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: That's fair.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, my the two things like actually like breaking down the game that stood out the most.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: One, I think it's pretty clear to me now that Trinidad, in terms of like college football, is the best quarterback in the game.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: He does so many things like outside of the pocket that no other quarterback does right now.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: I don't know if much of that and the fact that he's like 5'10 translates that well to the NFL.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: But in the college game, he is so dynamic.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: I don't do you think there's a better quarterback in college football right now besides him?
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: Well, I know you got your boy in Mississippi State, but I feel like when Trinidad was going through like all this lawsuit stuff to get another year, I was like, why?
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: I thought he was gonna be a top pick anyway, because when you look at the slate, it wasn't that great.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: But actually watching him play, I thought he was just like uh a product of Lane.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: But like that little flip pass he did on third down, I think it was, it's like, wait, he kind of nice.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: Now I didn't know he was a tiny fella.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because he's not like 5'10 and quick like Tyler.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: And I don't know, he don't got like a Josh Allen arm.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: So I think he'll just have to play within the system.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: But nah, I think Trinidad, because the rest of them look pool like uh Mississippi State kid, he can't leave yet.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: Arch might come back.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: Dante Moore, he took a plummet.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: He's dookie, dookie juice.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah, nah, I think Trinidad, I think he done stamped it.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: No, that's I I I I think right now, the way we've seen the first four game or three games, first four weeks, if you count week zero, he's been the best quarterback.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: Um it it'll be interesting to see.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: You gotta look out for that kid from Oklahoma State.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, messy.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: He's nice too.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: He's nice.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: Was he the North Texas guy?
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: He came with Eric Morris over there.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: Um, to me, like I really want to see like can Trinidad do this again, like week in and week out, again in the SEC?
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: Because they have a hard schedule, and can they can he continue to be this dynamic and creative?
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: The other major takeaway, I'm not really like that down on LSU off this game.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Like, like you said, this was old missus Super Bowl.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: Like, I think they were gonna put everything they had into winning this game, but the actual like football piece of this that really stands out is when Trey des Green got hurt, LSU's tight end.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it felt like LSU didn't have they it feels like they have a bunch of like quick guys like Jackson Harris from Hawaii and Trey Wilson and Winston, yep.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: And it doesn't feel like any of those guys are like a guy, you know, like an NFL guy or like a guy that Levitt can go to over and over again.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: Do you feel like that is a problem for them to win not only like bigger games that they'll have in the regular season, but if they make it to the playoffs to win a playoff game?
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: Well, I feel like the LSU we had, we saw growing up, like his kids, they was like tough, running the ball.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel like Lane can still do that, but I also feel like he knew he was going into that like tradition because all the money he spent on Portal, he got a quarterback, he tried to get some some some trench players.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Uh C and I don't think he played terrible, but he didn't play like he got paid all that money.
- 20:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Um, the D-line, and maybe that's because of Trinidad and his legs, but they wasn't like dominating like you thought they would.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: So I think that's something he got to go to the drama board and be like, hey, we got to go to play Elko and the boys next week.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: We gotta buckle up that chin strap and put in your eyebase and play.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: Because Lane always been like the, he's he's in the same tree as like the Cliff Kingsbury's and the Lincoln Rileys.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: Like, they great offensive lines, but when it's time to put them bootstraps on, I don't think they team's ever done that.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: So that's gonna be a challenge for him.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Like he shouldn't be down on himself, like you said, but you gotta get some toughness in you, because all that cute stuff, like Winston, he ain't finna give you 115 catches.
- 21:39unknown: Right.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Your your tight end might he want to give you 100, but he was like your toughness.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and your and your quarterback tough, but you need him to survive.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: So they gotta figure that out.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they both have big games coming up this week.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: We're actually gonna talk about both of them later on.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: Um, we gotta we gotta touch.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: On this game, it's not it wasn't the biggest game of the week, but this ending of this game, this NC State Vanderbilt game, was one of the craziest college football endings I think I've ever seen.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: So for those that do not know, NC State was up 24 to 7 with about eight minutes left in the third quarter.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: Um, NC State has a quarterback that a lot of people were really excited about before the first game of this year, which someone was worried, someone was wondering why he didn't leave.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, like people really were high on CJ Bailey.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: And in this game, they like I said, they were up 24 to 7 midway through the third, and Vanderbilt starts chipping away, chipping away.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: All of a sudden it's 30 31 to 28, and there's I think like eight or nine seconds left.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: NC State has the ball on eight-yard line, and there's they need to waste the time, so they can't just uh you know get possession, kick a field goal, tie the game right away.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: CJ Bailey runs back into the end zone, and instead of just taking a safety, taking a sack, running out of the back of the end zone, he fumbles and Vanderbilt falls on the ball, wins the game, they actually cover the spread, which is the craziest thing ever.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: Uh, my only question about this, I guess two questions.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: One, how ridiculous was that in your point of view?
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: And then does any of this go on Dave Doran because they were up by so much?
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: Or is this all just that's on CJ Bailey?
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: So I feel like when you watch a game, we all watch games where people done been up a million, and then like the other team creeps back, and we always be like, Well, dang, like some to where you gotta stop the bleed.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: They did, in a sense, and then they lost.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: So it's like, I can't put it on the coach because like they still you rally the truth, you'd be like, Man, you gotta find a way to win.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: You gotta stop momentum.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: They stopped it enough to have the lead with eight seconds left.
- 24:11SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: And CJ, he's not us.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: Like, if we was quarterbacks in that position, we might have freaked out.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: But you know what that reminds me of?
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: It reminded me of, I want to say it's that the Duke game in the final four or the elite eight or whatever this past year.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: The kid just like cost it.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: I think it was a boozer.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: I think it was a little boozer.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: He just cost it.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: And people was like, What?
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: You could have done this, you could have done that, you could have done so much.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: And like me, I think it all would have ended in a safety.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: But yeah, take the sack.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Just chuck it.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: You might get attentional grounded, it's gonna be a safety.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: I feel like if you chuck it and get attentional grounded and the clock hits zero, I don't think they will allow another play.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Or maybe they do, but that's gonna be the kickoff.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: And we, I've never seen one in person where somebody take the kit back.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: So, like, for them coming back from such large of a deficit, I do blame on the coach a little bit, but they they basically won the game.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: Like, if you would have opened up Hard Rock and tried to bet, Vandy maybe would have been like plus 17,000.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like that doesn't happen.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: It should have happened, it was over, and everything points at CJ.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: CJ was the guy all summer.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, why he didn't get paid 10 million to go here, there, whatever.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: Well, that's why you saw the first game of the season.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: Well, they was like something to zero for a long time.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: Yep, and then that happened.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: I think he done paint his draft stop.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's he's definitely in a bad spot right now.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: I I don't really ever hear anybody hyping him up anymore, and deservedly so.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: I mean, that was probably one of the worst 10 football players I've ever seen, just awareness-wise, yeah.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: Um, just a crazy ending there.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: Um, and then even the last thing I'm gonna say on that is even if like because this coach is coaching for a job.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: Everybody's like, and it's like NC State, you're not supposed to do nothing now.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: But they've been seven and five, eight and four, nine and three his whole time.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: So they not, so they like, oh okay, you got CJ back, you got like a defense, you got like some weapons.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: So he probably looking at that loss like, you just cost me my job.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm cooked now.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: A game that they had in the bag and it's gone now.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: And Vanderbilt ends up winning.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: Uh, actually, the first time in Vanderbilt's history that they have won 10 straight home games.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: Um dating back to last season, they have won 10 straight home games now.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: So um, I mean Jarrett.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: Jared, Jared Curtis, too.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: He started hooping because at first he looked a little shaky, but then it just that five-star clicked.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: And you said, Oh yeah, I forgot.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: That was the best.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: The same way that we are gonna give a little blame to Dave Dorn, I gotta give a little bit of credit to Clark Lee.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: Like Vanderbilt isn't, you know, Ohio State or Alabama or you know, like a powerhouse.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: They could have easily given up, you know, down 20 in the third, almost fourth quarter.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: And changed the culture.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they have a different culture there where they continue to play hard and they won the game because of it.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: So um, well, another big upset occurred in the SEC, and that was the Kentucky Wildcats and their new head coach Will Stein, they traveled down to college station, and I would say Marcel Reid probably played the worst game of his whole career.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: Uh, he threw two pretty bad interceptions.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: Um, one of them was in the fourth quarter when they were driving to maybe cut it to one score, and then he threw another one later on in the game that just basically sealed sealed the deal.
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: But overall, AM outgained Kentucky.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: They had more first downs than Kentucky, they had more third down conversions than Kentucky, but Kentucky lost or Kentucky won the turnover battle, and they stopped Texas AM on fourth down three different times.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: That was the difference of the game.
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: My thought here is what does this mean for AM?
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: Like they've they've kind of been in a situation where year after year, whether it was Mike Elko or Kevin Sumlin before, where they are the nine and three, yeah, but you know, like the yeah, but SEC team, is that just what this is, or was that just a crazy upset that happened?
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: I hate I hate when stuff like this happens because I am a Florida State fan, but you start liking coaches, like I like Elko.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: So you'd be like, but when I like sit back and I be like, man, could they ever even play in a national championship?
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: Like, I can't envision that.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, nobody could envision like what Kirk did with Indiana either.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: But it's just like it's something around that school that just makes you be like, this can't happen.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Like, and then at the week, maybe it was week one.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, a lot of teams didn't play week zero, but week one, when Marcel had that little like flat footed 50-yard bomb, and everybody was like, oh my God, this is like crazy.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: That was him, right?
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: He he he had that throw, yeah.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: I was like, somebody's gonna draft him off that throw alone, and ever since then, he's been terrible.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, I'm never a fan of like, I don't think it's a lot of, I don't think it's 130 people that should be playing college quarterback anyway.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: And I feel like he might be one of them.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: Like the same thing I say that certain teams don't have that grit, like Texas AM have grit.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they just I don't know, they got some stink on them and they washed some of it off, but they just they I don't think they got it.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: They just another AM team.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: It's crazy because this AM team obviously they lost a lot of guys in the draft, like three, I think three offensive linemen.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: The Jags drafted their tight end.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: I mean, they the Jags also took one of their defensive linemen.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: They had a couple other defensive players get drafted, so they lost a lot off of last year's team.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: But still, this this team that they have is pretty talented, pretty, pretty good, and it's obvious to me that Marcel Reed is the thing that holds them back.
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: So that's one of those where I'd be curious to see how long of a leash he gets to keep playing, um, especially because Elko's gonna be there for several more years no matter what.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: So I'm curious if Marcel Reed, if he continues to play bad, especially with their game they have this weekend, how long Marcel Reed continues to be their starting quarterback?
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: Um, anything else you want to add about this Kentucky AM game?
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: I just looked it up.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: Jimbo got fired from AM 2023.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: So technically, Elko is is still kinda maybe playing with Jimbo players.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: What is gonna look like when Jimbo players are gone?
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: Because all those kids, well, it's a transfer porter, so he probably like I know this year we brought in 61 new kids.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: So, but but AM not a school that needs 61 players.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: So I would I will I will I should have looked it up before.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: I want to know how many of those kids that got drafted that like I want to know how many of those were Jimbo players, and nice and they you know what they always say, oh, you won with X person players, yeah.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: Like your coach, if he does good this year, people Billy might get on Twitter and be like, Damn, look at my boys, these are my guys, minus the quarterback, like that's Billy's guy, yeah.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: Um, so I want to know because that might be a thing.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Now let's see, because coaches always be like, I need four years so I can get my guys.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: Well, let's see, Elko, because if you don't do so hot this year and next year, that means the Jimbo class is done though.
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: Gone, yeah.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, especially if you're if you're gonna go back last year, like a lot of their guys that they had drafted, a lot of those guys were there when Jimbo was there, um, especially across the offensive line.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: Like our Jaguar Albert Regis, he was there with Jimbo.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: Um, some of the other guys maybe not, but definitely the offensive line, like the the major trench pieces that they had were from Jimbo.
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: So remains to be seen what what we get out of Texas AM the rest of the year.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: But speaking of Jimbo and speaking of your outfit that you have on, FSU traveled to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama last year.
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: Obviously, FSU upset Alabama in week one.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: Um, what was your last time I was happy?
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: What was your reaction to the pre-delay portion of the game?
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: Is this uh after I left our chat or before I left our chat?
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: Slightly before.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: So no, so watching that game, we we score, deuce touchdown, all of this wit, we get a three and out, we get two three and out in a row.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: All of this stuff is happening, and I'm confused.
- 33:25SPEAKER_00: So like I get excited, but now, and this is my fault, I'm thinking ahead, like, okay, we're gonna win this game randomly, and then what the next do we go lose to Virginia?
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: So I'm getting so I'm getting a little fret because it's like this is Mike Norvell in the in the bottle.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: Like he's about to have like five or six losing seasons out of seven or eight years or whatever.
- 33:50SPEAKER_00: But typically, this is what it is.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: We we win three straight, we lose four straight.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: So I'm watching this game, and a part of me is happy because it's like you always want us to win.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: And then you see how tough we can be, and then you see like Tony White is on Twitter because our DBs aren't 15 yards back on the 13 and one, and we're playing smush, smush mouth ball.
- 34:14SPEAKER_00: Ashton is like actually throwing the ball, they throwing it to Deuce.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: We can run.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: So it's like I'm elated.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: I'm happy.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: But then you're like, okay, but are they gonna do this again at Virginia?
- 34:29SPEAKER_00: Are they gonna do this again when we play Miami?
- 34:31SPEAKER_00: On Halloween, we play Clemson.
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: So, like, what am I getting happy for?
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: Just this like the lightning in the bottle again.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: This Jimbo, I mean not Jimbo, this Mike just hate Alabama for whatever reason and just always want to be this him and Kalen.
- 34:48SPEAKER_00: Kalen's still his girlfriend in middle school, so it's his mission to beat Alabama.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: So these are my thoughts, 21-6.
- 34:55SPEAKER_00: And then reality crept in.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: What what do you feel like aside from Keelan Russell playing better afterwards?
- 35:04SPEAKER_01: But what do you feel like changed?
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was 21 to 6, like you said.
- 35:09SPEAKER_01: Like they they were controlling the game on defense and on offense, like they were taking shots, like you said.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: What changed after that weather delay ended?
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: So two things changed.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Maybe one.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: No, two things changed.
- 35:24SPEAKER_00: Mike, I was tweeting this, I was telling everybody I could because I was getting all these incoming messages.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: I was like, I think Mike then called about 25 to 30 plays.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: That's typically the script.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: Coaches always come in with like 15 to 20 plays, 25 to 30 sometimes, depending on how much of a sicko you are.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: I say, I think he I think the plays are over.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: So now let's see when you gotta like actually do stuff.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: Like when you actually gotta read the flow of the game and you just not like calling stuff that you planned this is gonna work.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: Because the game was perfect.
- 36:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, if we get a three and out, this is what we're gonna do.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: And then I think Alabama just like they had to make adjustments because I don't know anything they we couldn't get a pass rush, but like we never could get a pass rush.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: So maybe maybe that delay had them sleepwalking, maybe they was just like, okay, maybe they'll break, which we did break.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, we kind of fought back.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: I hate that the score was 50 to whatever it was, 36 or something like that.
- 36:30SPEAKER_00: Because most people, Cam, would say that it was close, which I guess it was, but after 21-6, it was like nothing happened.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I would I know what happened.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: I would just say to that real quick, I would say if you were an Alabama fan, you would have walked away from out of that stadium saying, Man, that was a close ass game.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: Up until them at two-minute mark at halftime, I think that's when we lost it.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: Because Mike, he he does this thing where he like, okay, if it's if we get the ball back before halftime and it's a minute in 17 seconds left.
- 37:16SPEAKER_00: I don't want to be too aggressive and get a ball back because they got three timeouts.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: But I'm also gonna be like too conservative.
- 37:23SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: And I seen a screenshot.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: I see I know what happened, but when you see a screenshot and with two minutes left, it was 21 to 6.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: But then when it went to halftime, it was whatever the math is to 20.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: I think it was like 24, 22.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: It was we was losing basically.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: So it's like you can't, and then we got ball and did nothing.
- 37:50SPEAKER_00: And that Dabo, I I don't like him.
- 37:53SPEAKER_00: Dabo, if you want to sponsor Cam, this is all me.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: This is not Cam.
- 37:57SPEAKER_00: But Dabo thing was the middle late.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: Score before half, score after half, that's game.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: Now you just play ball.
- 38:06SPEAKER_00: And we had a terrible middle six, because that's what it was.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: It was a middle six, and we didn't we did nothing with it.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: And that's how you lose.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: You run out of plays, you can't adjust.
- 38:16SPEAKER_00: Dave got a five-star quarterback.
- 38:18SPEAKER_00: We got a guy who's been losing his whole life.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: No offense, Ashton, if you listen to this.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: Um, a better roster won, and a better coach won, a better atmosphere won, the football gods won.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: I lost.
- 38:36SPEAKER_01: So, well, that's what I was about to say.
- 38:38SPEAKER_01: So ultimately, based on how you started your reaction to this game, are you happy that they lost, or are you still upset because you're a fan?
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: Um, you you get mad.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: Like, if you watch something and you're like, all right, cool.
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: If the Gators play the Browns, right?
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: You're like, there's no way we should win this game.
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: But then you win in the game and you're like, okay, we can win this game.
- 39:04SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm proven we can win this game.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: And then let's say ball don't get the ball the whole second half, and you you like, I'm a little perturbed.
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: Because why didn't ball get the ball?
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: It was working, but then you come to a realization is like, wait, I was never supposed to win this game anyway.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: I was just in it.
- 39:22SPEAKER_00: Um, right, we all know the end goal is for Mike to get fired, but I don't know if the admin would do that.
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: They just fired the AD, so maybe that's the step.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: But it's a lot of people in the building that's that likes Mike and like maybe Mike not the problem.
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: So I don't know.
- 39:40SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'm just watching football to watch it at this point.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: Any other thoughts you want to leave us with on the FSU Bama game before we move to another ACC team?
- 39:51SPEAKER_00: Uh, Russell is the truth, and he's gonna be a kid to watch out for the the Dolphins.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: Uh, we'll be you'll be potting on ESPN and you'll be having a segment called Tanking for Russell or Rusty for Russell or something.
- 40:06SPEAKER_00: That'll be because that kid's nice.
- 40:09SPEAKER_00: He did some throws, he did throw at in the Kentucky game when he was getting like pulled back or something, and he just flicked his wrist and it went like 40 yards.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: He can use his legs, he's not chubby, uh, he doesn't have dreads.
- 40:23SPEAKER_01: Um he's to me after after the weather delay, he was just another level after that.
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: It was hard for you guys to to slow that offense down.
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: Whatever the adjustments their offense made, uh, with Calen DeBore after that weather delay, it came out and they were guns ablazing after that.
- 40:44SPEAKER_01: He was making plays, and I was I was impressed.
- 40:47SPEAKER_01: I'm not like completely sold on him yet.
- 40:49SPEAKER_01: Uh, but that was a baby.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: He that's what I'm saying.
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: Like, I need to see more, but that was very impressive.
- 40:56SPEAKER_01: Um, so any anything else, like I said, you want to leave us with for this game?
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: No, cool, go Knowles.
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: Go Knowles, that's right.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: Uh, SMU did travel to Papa John Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky for a major ACC matchup.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: To me, right now, Lincoln Keinholes is playing the second best quarterback in the ACC behind Darien Mensa.
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: And he is legit for a guy that was a backup at Ohio State.
- 41:28SPEAKER_01: Um, he actually played in the Cotton Bowl a few years ago against Mizzou.
- 41:33SPEAKER_01: Um, when I'm trying, I'm for some reason blanking on who Ohio State's quarterback, oh, it was Stroud at the time, um, wasn't there, and Kineholz got hurt in that game.
- 41:44SPEAKER_01: So I didn't really know that much about you been in school that long.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: He's yeah, he was in Ohio State like four four years ago.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: Um and SMU, they kind of fall into that Texas AM boat to me, where they're always like a yeah, but and I know they made the playoffs a couple years ago, but they got absolutely smoked by Penn State that year.
- 42:07SPEAKER_01: And it just feels like whenever they're in a big game, even the ACC title game that they had against Clemson that one year, like you know, there's a Duke last year, too.
- 42:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's always like a uh like with SMU.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: Um, and Kajon Brown had 163 yards and two touchdowns for Louisville, and they have another running back that might be just as good or better than him in Isaac Brown.
- 42:34SPEAKER_01: I think Louisville is a legit playoff contender.
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: They are a really, really good team, a really fun team to watch.
- 42:40SPEAKER_01: Uh, what was your reaction?
- 42:42SPEAKER_01: Did you get eyes on this game?
- 42:44SPEAKER_01: What was your thoughts about SMU and Louisville?
- 42:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they was in the quad.
- 42:48SPEAKER_00: That was an exciting game.
- 42:49SPEAKER_00: Um, I feel like Louisville, they they they're never gonna be the team that's gonna like just run it for a year, like and just win it and go crazy.
- 43:02SPEAKER_00: But they're always that person you look on the schedule and you'll be like, all right, when do I play my rivals?
- 43:07SPEAKER_00: And then you'd be like, I gotta play Louisville this year.
- 43:12SPEAKER_00: Cause like you gotta play ball, like Jeff Braum and them boys, they be dialing up some insane stuff, and you never know.
- 43:20SPEAKER_00: I never know who's on their team.
- 43:22SPEAKER_00: Like, obviously, I know some people, but like this quarterback, you was like, damn, he's been there since CJ Stroud, he under the Stroud tree, and it's like this guy's just you watch him play, and he's he's like a um a less battered Connor Wyman.
- 43:39SPEAKER_00: Like yeah, he's like Connor was just trying to die, he didn't care, he did it for the love of the game.
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: There was a name trending about Lincoln Kingholes.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: For those that do not know what Lincoln Kingholz looks like, he is a very lanky tall white man, but uh there was a name trending on Twitter on Saturday during this SMU Louisville game where he is not.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Donned Lamar Keenholes at Louisville.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: So oh yeah, they they swap faces with him too on the meme.
- 44:08SPEAKER_00: But like he's I don't know, man.
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: He's uh he's legit.
- 44:12SPEAKER_00: I gotta look at their schedule.
- 44:13SPEAKER_00: I gotta see if they gotta play Miami.
- 44:15SPEAKER_00: I gotta see if they like if they ducking and dodging some folks.
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: Because if they dodge the right people, I can see them easily beating Miami.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: I'm not as impressed with Miami.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: They once uh Tony went out, they kind of like froze a little bit.
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: They do not play Miami, they play uh Wake Forest, NC State, FSU, Syracuse, Stanford, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Pitt, and Kentucky.
- 44:42SPEAKER_00: But see, that that's another Louisville, another one of those teams.
- 44:45SPEAKER_00: Like, it's tiers, right?
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it's like 70 teams in the same, like, oh, they're dangerous, but they'll lose the wake forest.
- 44:53SPEAKER_00: They'll lose three games that they're not supposed to lose.
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: So, like, they just they just something fun to watch.
- 44:59SPEAKER_00: When I I find the time fly, I see when they watch because it's gonna be an entertaining game because they don't play defense, right?
- 45:06SPEAKER_00: But nah, that and then SMU, I kind of figured it was gonna be like a barn burner because none of them play defense, but they both got two good quarterbacks, two weapons, they get timely stops.
- 45:19SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah, that that that kid from Louisville, he the truth.
- 45:24SPEAKER_00: He he liked that my enemy behind you.
- 45:28SPEAKER_01: So big game there from uh Lamar Keenholz as he's now known in Louisville, Kentucky.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: Uh, a couple more games we're gonna get to in the Big 12 on Friday night.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: We had a pretty big matchup, number 22, Houston went on the road to Lubbock and lost uh in a pretty close game at the end to number 16 Texas Tech.
- 45:50SPEAKER_01: And at the end, they were down by eight.
- 45:52SPEAKER_01: Houston scored with a few seconds left, tried to go for two and did not get the two.
- 45:57SPEAKER_01: Uh, very close and competitive game in the Big 12.
- 46:00SPEAKER_01: My question here: who should Texas Tech's quarterback be moving forward?
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: Because it's uh it felt like because they kept forcing Castellanos into the game, it messed up all their momentum.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: But then at the end of the game, he had some plays that I mean, he scored the game-winning touchdown.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: Um, and they also were able to make some pretty big things happen, but he also had like that really bad interception on the first play, um, and another like boneheaded throwaway on third down.
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: Do you think he should be like their full-time guy or should they just stick to Will Hammond?
- 46:36SPEAKER_00: I think if you commit to Tommy, you commit to the Tommy experience.
- 46:40SPEAKER_00: Like he's gonna do some stuff, and then in the Big 12, you kind of need some of that stuff.
- 46:46SPEAKER_00: But also the other kid came in and he kind of like settled it down, but then he started sucking randomly.
- 46:53SPEAKER_00: So, like, I just think I think like what the that coaching staff is doing and Lubblick, Lubbock, what is it?
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: Lubblick.
- 47:01SPEAKER_00: Lubbock, yeah.
- 47:01SPEAKER_00: Lubbock.
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: I think they just like, hey, we could win this and go to the playoffs.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: Like, we spend hella cheese.
- 47:07SPEAKER_00: Like that money that they got pumping in there, this is they're not here to like play around with the Tommy experience, but like yo-yoing people in and out of the game isn't cool either.
- 47:19SPEAKER_00: So I just think you're right with Tommy because like why would you bring this old fella back to be on the team?
- 47:25SPEAKER_00: You know he don't want to be there to be a bench guy, then you don't want to mess up the locker room.
- 47:30SPEAKER_00: You got talent, right?
- 47:32SPEAKER_00: They got running backs that's really good, wide receivers that's really good.
- 47:37SPEAKER_00: They defense is decent.
- 47:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, just stick with Tommy, and you just got this one coaching coming.
- 47:42SPEAKER_00: You got a game plan and try and coach that bad Tommy out.
- 47:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I would say because of how if they were like not as loaded of a roster, I would probably say they should just play Will Hammond because he'll be there next year, most likely.
- 47:57SPEAKER_01: Um, but because they have such a good roster, they could very easily win the Big 12, probably go undefeated if they play well enough.
- 48:05SPEAKER_01: I would probably go with Tommy too, just because you know that you're gonna get those high-end plays, like you're saying.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: But it it really kind of threw their game off of off of a uh rhythm on Friday night, but they were able to get a win.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: Um, like I said, a big game in the Big 12.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: We also had a big game on the Plains in Jordan Hare.
- 48:26SPEAKER_01: Florida went on the road, the first road game under new head coach John Summerall against new head coach in Auburn, Alec Golish.
- 48:35SPEAKER_01: Uh, defense was a concern for both of these teams.
- 48:38SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't think there was any chance though, watching the way that Auburn kept responding in this game, that Florida would have ever won this game under Napier.
- 48:48SPEAKER_01: The situational awareness, the you know, the confidence and the poise to respond, even if Auburn's not very good, Florida loses that game eight times out of ten under Billy Napier.
- 49:00SPEAKER_01: Um, so to me, like my big takeaway was Summerall has already established like a good culture there.
- 49:06SPEAKER_01: Um, and that it helps to have Jaden Ball on your team.
- 49:10SPEAKER_01: Like, I think he's the if not the best running back in the country, either one or two with Mizzou's running back Ahmad Hardy and Ole Miss's running back Kawan Lacey.
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: And the other thing that I noticed that was pretty apparent in this game is Jaden Woods is an absolute freak.
- 49:27SPEAKER_01: Uh, he had two and a half sacks in this game and he had five quarterback pressures.
- 49:31SPEAKER_01: Uh, what were your thoughts on the Florida Gators, your favorite team in college football?
- 49:38SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm very impressed with ball for one, because I didn't I could be wrong, and maybe like my hate eyes was blinding me, but I never knew he was that fast.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: Like he he's not he's not 4-3, right?
- 49:55SPEAKER_00: But he it looked like he got another gear this year.
- 49:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he was getting away from people on those two long runs that he had.
- 50:02SPEAKER_00: If he hit a hole, if he get a hole, like it normally be like he'll be one of those backs where he'll go 30, but you need 35 for the touchdown, and then he get tackled.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: But now he's running through the stands now, and it's like, what the hell is this?
- 50:15SPEAKER_00: The quarterback, uh Philo.
- 50:18SPEAKER_00: Philo, yep.
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: Philo.
- 50:20SPEAKER_00: I I wish Ashton was what he is because he's just the he's the point guard.
- 50:26SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna just get it to my guys and they figure the rest out.
- 50:30SPEAKER_00: Y'all gonna make me look good.
- 50:31SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 50:32SPEAKER_00: Um I knew y'all when out y'all played FAU, the Camels.
- 50:36SPEAKER_00: I knew y'all was gonna have like a rough defense.
- 50:40SPEAKER_00: So like, but the score is also deceiving because John started doing some loony things when like it shouldn't have been that close.
- 50:49SPEAKER_00: I just think that's just him excited, getting the kinks out, you in a stadium with like a million people, you trying to shut them up.
- 50:57SPEAKER_00: If the football guys get adrenaline, uh the coach got adrenaline, like they feeding off the coach.
- 51:03SPEAKER_00: Um but he also human.
- 51:05SPEAKER_00: I don't like him, but I do appreciate when he came in for spring, and he was like, I looked at my line and I said, these guys suck.
- 51:15SPEAKER_00: He didn't say that, but he was like, they're tiny or something.
- 51:17SPEAKER_00: Uh this not the standard, this not what it looks like.
- 51:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was like, oh, he gets it.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, if you got a line and then you got, like you said, arguably top two, maybe not two, back in the league, you gotta have some big boys blocking for them.
- 51:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so um, I mean, the the Gators, no spoilers, but I feel like they fit that some this season gonna be something that I'm not gonna be happy about.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 51:45SPEAKER_01: But the other thing specifically about this game that I thought was cool as a fan, um, is the fact that there was the whole Lane Kiffin head coaching fiasco last year where was he gonna go to LSU for a long time?
- 51:59SPEAKER_01: It kind of felt like he was gonna go to Florida, and uh you know, kind of on the 10-yard line, Florida pivoted and very quickly agreed to a deal with John Summerall.
- 52:09SPEAKER_01: And all the reports were that John Sumerall was supposed to go to Auburn.
- 52:13SPEAKER_01: He's from Auburn, or he's from Alabama, grew up not far from Auburn.
- 52:18SPEAKER_01: He even said like his one picture that he has on his desk in Florida is a picture of Pat Dye and Bear Bryant together.
- 52:25SPEAKER_01: So, I mean, he's an Alabama guy, he coached at Troy, and so I thought it was cool for him to like get that win in his first SEC game against Auburn.
- 52:35SPEAKER_01: I thought that was really cool.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: Um, and I agree, like, I don't think Philo is anything special, but the one thing that is very obvious is Buster Faulkner might be the best coordinator hire in all of college football this year, and because of that, it makes Aaron Philo's job a lot easier to, like you said, be the point guard.
- 52:54SPEAKER_01: Um, but they have a big game coming up this weekend, and we will get to that shortly.
- 52:59SPEAKER_01: A couple more games we're gonna go through a little bit quicker.
- 53:02SPEAKER_01: Uh, Mississippi, they were down 16 to nothing on the road in Columbia, South Carolina, and because of that, this is now officially a Camario Taylor fan club podcast.
- 53:15SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the goal.
- 53:17SPEAKER_01: They hey, that's a goal.
- 53:19SPEAKER_01: He is electric.
- 53:20SPEAKER_01: I I can't help but see Vince Young when I see him play.
- 53:24SPEAKER_01: He's so long, and the way he effers effortless effortlessly throws the ball downfield on a dime.
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: Uh, he had three more touchdowns in this game.
- 53:35SPEAKER_01: And even when South Carolina got up on them, it never felt like Mississippi State was in any kind of panic mode or anything, which is crazy because it's Mississippi State.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, they've always kind of been like maybe they'll have a good year here and there, um, like even dating back to like the Dak Prescott seasons.
- 53:55SPEAKER_01: Um, but it's never really felt sustained or like legitimate.
- 53:59SPEAKER_01: Um, any thoughts about this Mississippi State South Carolina game?
- 54:04SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, is Harbor gonna be the next Jags pass rusher?
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: Or one of those?
- 54:09SPEAKER_00: Don't they?
- 54:10SPEAKER_00: Is it Dylan Edwards?
- 54:11SPEAKER_00: They got some guys.
- 54:11SPEAKER_00: Uh Dylan Stewart.
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: Stewart, yeah.
- 54:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 54:14SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't understand.
- 54:15SPEAKER_00: They got sellers, they got they got guys.
- 54:18SPEAKER_00: I don't, I don't understand what Shane and the boys are doing.
- 54:23SPEAKER_00: It's just, I don't know.
- 54:25SPEAKER_00: Like, your GOAT, he you're gonna be you stamping him like I stamped Drake years, years, years ago when they played Fam You that first night, his first game.
- 54:34SPEAKER_00: I was like, this kid's amazing.
- 54:37SPEAKER_00: Uh so this is this is your Drake moment.
- 54:39SPEAKER_00: You stamping him.
- 54:40SPEAKER_00: I am quick question.
- 54:42SPEAKER_00: It's rapid.
- 54:44SPEAKER_00: Do you think he's gonna graduate a Mississippi State Bulldog?
- 54:50SPEAKER_01: I do.
- 54:51SPEAKER_01: Uh, and my reasoning for that, unless I'm gonna give myself an out, unless Jeff Levy leaves, if their head coach leaves, things could obviously change very quickly.
- 55:02SPEAKER_01: But unless that happens, which I don't know why he would, um I would imagine that he will stay, and that's just because Mississippi State can find enough money where they could make him a competitive offer to anybody.
- 55:17SPEAKER_01: They can they may not be able to pay their entire roster what Miami pays their team or LSU pays their team, but they can find enough money to keep that guy, you know.
- 55:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I read something where they say he got so many connections like to Mississippi State.
- 55:32SPEAKER_00: Like, I think his mom and his dad they played something there, and he's from he's from Starkville, yeah.
- 55:39SPEAKER_00: So, but I just I just wanted to see somebody else input because it's like in this day and age, you give a kid 20 million, Miami will, they will definitely do it.
- 55:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, like you turn it down to stay home, you can come back home.
- 55:52SPEAKER_00: But yep, yeah.
- 55:54SPEAKER_01: Um, in the Big Ten, USC was on the tight ropes with Rutgers, they barely squeaked out thanks to a pick six that they got late in this game.
- 56:05SPEAKER_01: Uh Rutgers is now 0-3, and maybe the I don't even know if it's maybe they are the worst power four team in college football.
- 56:13SPEAKER_01: Um, any reason to be concerned for USC or um do you feel like this was like a trap spot given the fact that they're about to play Oregon this weekend?
- 56:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know I'm a big Lincoln guy.
- 56:25SPEAKER_00: Like that's my that's my man.
- 56:27SPEAKER_00: I love Lincoln.
- 56:28SPEAKER_00: Um, I just think it was a trap spot.
- 56:31SPEAKER_00: Uh, I think he feels it.
- 56:33SPEAKER_00: I think he know what they gave him to come to California and they like, all right, it's put up a shut up time.
- 56:39SPEAKER_00: I think he used his excuses, not enough money.
- 56:42SPEAKER_00: So they gave him hella money, and now he got the number one recruiting class last year.
- 56:47SPEAKER_00: So, like, I think you feel it.
- 56:49SPEAKER_00: You know, it's kind of hard.
- 56:50SPEAKER_00: That's why Nick Saban and Bill Belichick and all the great ones win so much because they know how every week just uh it's no relaxing.
- 56:59SPEAKER_00: Um I think it was just a hiccup, but we're gonna find out.
- 57:03SPEAKER_00: He got a he got a big one in uh Halloween.
- 57:06SPEAKER_00: I think they play Ohio State.
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 57:08SPEAKER_00: This is a big one.
- 57:09SPEAKER_00: Um now they finna get into the meat of the potatoes.
- 57:12SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 57:13SPEAKER_00: And we're about to see what you about, Lincoln, because if you don't make it to the playoffs this year, I think you might be outie.
- 57:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I tend to agree.
- 57:23SPEAKER_01: I feel like it was probably more trap spot vibes than it was because I've we've I've watched I watched almost all of that Rutgers UMass game, and unfortunately, most of the Rutgers Boston College game, which I'm probably the only person in America that will say that.
- 57:41SPEAKER_01: And Rutgers no, it was a good one.
- 57:43SPEAKER_01: Red Bandana game it was a good game, red bandana.
- 57:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly right.
- 57:46SPEAKER_01: Uh, I I'm not that worried about USC, but we'll we'll get into the Oregon USC game before I make my pick.
- 57:54SPEAKER_01: So uh and then the last game I want to touch on too is number 25.
- 57:58SPEAKER_01: Virginia got manhandled by Michael Hawkins in West Virginia 38 to 27.
- 58:04SPEAKER_01: Um, to me, this just signifies that Virginia needs to be removed from being a ranked team.
- 58:11SPEAKER_01: And Michael Hawkins can maybe carry West Virginia in the Big 12 to staying ranked all year.
- 58:17SPEAKER_01: I don't think that they are good enough or deep enough to win or be in the Big 12 title with teams like Utah, BYU, and Texas Tech that we've already talked about.
- 58:26SPEAKER_01: Um, but I do think that they are sneaky enough that they could catch somebody and maybe get like an upset on like a um, you know, like a Utah on the road or BYU that they play later this year.
- 58:39SPEAKER_01: Um, but Rich Rodriguez, you can never count that guy out.
- 58:42SPEAKER_01: Like he will get a quarterback feeling good about himself at some point.
- 58:47SPEAKER_01: So uh anything that you have on the Virginia West Virginia game.
- 58:52SPEAKER_00: Nah, I watch Virginia closely because when we played him, and plus their coach, uh they might be on uh somebody's hotboard.
- 59:01SPEAKER_00: He might go back to Clemson if they can get rid of Dabo.
- 59:05SPEAKER_00: Um, I like Tony a lot, but I think Virginia had like a little, they caught another team that caught lightning in the bottle last year, and this year people was like, oh, you gotta look out for them, and then they just get whipped.
- 59:18SPEAKER_00: So that's just Virginia, like everything is falling back into play.
- 59:22SPEAKER_00: And I have been letting some weird stuff happen, but I think that's one of the things what that team can be like, all right, you can come back down to earth a little bit.
- 59:30SPEAKER_00: We're gonna push this team up, this this year's team now.
- 59:33SPEAKER_00: But Virginia, you fall back down to the pack.
- 59:36SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 59:37SPEAKER_01: Uh a few notable results that I will also just kind of fire off here.
- 59:41SPEAKER_01: Notre Dame defeated Michigan State 27 to 10.
- 59:44SPEAKER_01: Clemson, they also dealt with a kind of a weird weather delay where they were losing that game, and then after the weather delay, somehow were able to pull out a win there and maybe turn their season around.
- 59:55SPEAKER_01: They defeated North Carolina 28 to 20.
- 59:58SPEAKER_01: Uh, Virginia Tech defeated Maryland on the road.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_01: James Franklin went back to a Big 12 or a Big Ten team and won uh 35 to 26.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_01: Miami much closer than they probably wanted it to be, got by Gio Lopez and Wake Forest 33 to 20.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_01: Arizona State and Kansas played in London, Arizona State got the better hand.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_01: And then lastly, Northwestern hosted Colorado and Coach Prime smoked them.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_01: Smoked them 41 to 7.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_01: Uh, any any of those kind of stand out to you or uh all kind of expected results?
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_00: Uh I did not expect Prime to get smoked that much, especially after he beat Georgia Tech, and that's like a gritty team.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_00: So I thought like he was cooking with something, but the Colorado just sucked.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_00: The experiment is over.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_00: It's over.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_00: Um, if they go bowl, if they don't go bowling, they I don't I think they respect him enough not to fire him.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but he might step down.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, the Miami game, obviously.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_00: Gio had a chance to win that game.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_00: They got like a little number eight, Hernandez, whatever his name is.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_00: He was cooking.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_00: Like, I think.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, on Wake Forest?
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:01:11SPEAKER_00: He was cooking something.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_00: I don't, I they probably didn't say something by now with um Tony's injury.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_00: But I hope he's uh like obviously I don't want the kid to do terrible and be out for the rest of the year.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_00: But you know, just come back after you know, like October 17th.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_01: That's fair.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_01: Um, a few notable performances I want to highlight.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_01: A couple running backs, Jaden Ball that we already talked about, had 162 yards and three touchdowns.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_01: UCLA's running back, Wayne Knight, who transferred from James Madison with their head coach Bob Chesney, had 177 yards over Purdue and a win for UCLA.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_01: Former Florida Gator Jordan Castell had 13 tackles and the game ceiling interception against Texas AM to get Kentucky a nice road win.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_01: And then you can't talk about best performances and not mention Trinidad 363, two touchdowns on the air, one on the ground, and they got the dub against LSU.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_00: If you got it pulled up, how efficient was he?
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_00: Like, was he above 70%?
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_01: He was.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_01: I had it a second ago.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_01: He was 33 of 48, so 11 of 16 numbers.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I mean, almost uh 75% pretty good.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's not bad when you throw the ball 48 times.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_01: It's not bad.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_01: And they only ran the ball for 63 yards because uh one thing that we'll talk about in just a second when we do the old Miss Florida game, Kwan Lacey got hurt in that game, and he might not play against Florida this weekend.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_01: So um that means that it's time for us to do some tail the tailgate picks.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_01: We will do eight picks of the biggest games this weekend.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_01: Last week I went seven and one of five point five five units, bringing my record to 17, 14, and one on the year.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_01: The biggest game of the week is number one Texas traveling to Tennessee.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_01: It is also the site of College Game Day in Knoxville, Tennessee.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_01: Texas comes into this game favored by five and a half points on the road.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_01: The over-under is set at 55 and a half.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_01: Disgustingly and ashamingly, I am taking Tennessee plus five and a half.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_00: Who are you on?
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_00: Where are they playing at in Tennessee?
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_00: Hmm.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_00: So I think I don't know, man.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_00: It could get Rocky and Rocky Top, but is Rocky still Rocky Top these days?
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_00: I don't know, man.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_00: I think ever since they done, like after Arch had his I'm still a kid moment in the press conference, I feel like they done gave him some PR training and then like made him like back focus because he was filming himself at the Ohio State.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna I I feel like Texas is gonna win that game.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_00: I I I like them outright.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_01: Texas on the road to get a win.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_01: So now we have there are actually four ranked versus ranked SEC matchups.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_01: We will actually pick all of them.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_01: Um, the next one, the Gators host Ole Miss fresh off of two big wins.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_01: Florida obviously beating Auburn last week, Ole Miss defeating LSU at home.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_01: Now Florida is a three and a half.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I said that.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_01: Three and a half point favorite against Ole Miss.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_01: The over-under is set at 58 and a half.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_01: I'll let you go first.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_00: What do you like here?
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_00: So with you dropping that lacey news.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_00: Well, before I even heard the Lacey news, I was already leaning gator um to just win that game outright for a couple of reasons.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_00: Um, one, I think that was Ole Miss Super Bowl.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_00: So I feel like Ole Miss isn't gonna be what they chalked up to be.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_00: They gave up all that, they exuded all that energy to beat Lane.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_00: I seen that steel shot of all those players running, pointing that lane after I guess like the game selling pick.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_00: Um it's in the swamp, John.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_00: And that's something about y'all coach.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_00: He be he be talking kind of crazy.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_00: He was like um the swamp, like wherever y'all played at.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, and uh War Eagle, how he was like, they stadium ain't gonna be nothing like us.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_00: Um I'm looking at the point total.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's gonna go over this figure.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_00: 57 and a half, but I do like the Gators to win outright.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_01: So we are both taking the Gators money line.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_01: That takes us to my Missouri Tigers, who have a very difficult matchup on the road this week.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_01: Another ranked versus ranked SEC matchup.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_01: They travel to Starkville, Mississippi, where Mississippi State opens as a six and a half point favorite.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_01: The over-under is set at 58.5.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_01: And I'm just going to take the points.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_01: I'm going to take all the points, 58 and a half of them.
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_01: I think these are two of the better quarterbacks in all of college football.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_01: I don't think that Mizzou will be able to slow Mississippi State down.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_01: But on the flip side, Mississippi State has just played two pretty competitive road games back to back.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_01: So I would anticipate that their defense might also be a little tired.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_01: I like the over here.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_01: I'm going to take the over 58 and a half.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_01: What do you like in Miss Missouri and Mississippi State?
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_00: Like you said, two good quarterbacks.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_01: This weekend.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I feel like this is because if, I mean, if me and you are saying this uh this kid that Mississippi State got at quarterback, it's good.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_00: Everybody else knows that too.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_00: They're trying to capitalize on this.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_00: They know they're not going too far in the SEC.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't think they're gonna be with the Georgias and the Texases and Tennessee and AM and all of that.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_00: But they do want to have a good environment.
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_00: It's a night game.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_00: Um, I I think I like I think I like Mississippi State, and I think I even like nine and a half it.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna win by double digits.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_00: Well, I hope I hope that's not the case.
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_00: Like you say, Missouri, they they didn't have some road, some tough road games.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_00: Now they got to travel again.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_00: You just you just said they're trying to break the record with the cowbells.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_00: I I don't I don't think this is gonna be pretty, I don't think this is gonna be close.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_00: And not like in the Missouri is ass thing, but yeah, you gotta travel, you gotta go to school.
- 1:08:26SPEAKER_00: We just did this.
- 1:08:27SPEAKER_00: Sometimes you just be like, all right, man, let's let's just get out of here.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_01: So I'm on the over.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_01: Chevy is on the Bulldogs minus six and a half, maybe even up to nine and a half.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_01: Uh, that takes us to LSU and Texas AM.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_01: This is what I would like to deem the loser leaves town bowl.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_01: Uh, because whoever loses this game is gonna be on you know, suicide alert.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_01: I I would say their fan base come 10 p.m.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_01: Eastern Saturday night.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_01: Whoever loses this game is gonna be down horrendous.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_01: I think that this is gonna have a real sluggish start to the game because of how both of these teams lost last week.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_01: That's why I'm gonna take the first half under 26 and a half.
- 1:09:13SPEAKER_01: I could just see this being like a real sloppy game until the second half starts.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_01: Um, just a lot of emotions that both of them are working through.
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_01: I'm taking the first half under.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_01: Where are you at?
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I'm gonna take the whole game under too, because it's it's gonna be hard to muster up that energy.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_00: And I think this Landon played in the SEC or coached in the SEC for a little while.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_00: Elko, I want to say this is like his third year, maybe, coaching in the SEC.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_00: So you know you got to bring it every game.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_00: But how easy is that?
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_00: Like, like I just said previously, it's only a couple coaches that can lock in every week through practice, through this, through that.
- 1:09:55SPEAKER_00: Uh, Lane had a couple antics with the coaches being with the all the quarterbacks doubtful.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_00: So like you don't you done ran all the gimmicks.
- 1:10:03SPEAKER_00: It's it's time to get back serious.
- 1:10:05SPEAKER_00: I think it's gonna be sluggish.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_00: I just saw that Levitt got more picks than touchdowns passing.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_00: Um, it's to five, it's a three to five right now.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_00: Um, the tight end is hurt.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think it's gonna be, I think the whole game is going under, like you said, it's not gonna be it's gonna be a snooze fest in prime time.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_01: I think so too.
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_01: Um, I do think LSU wins this game.
- 1:10:31SPEAKER_01: I think they are much more talented than AM, and it's at LSU.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_01: So, but I'm I'm right there with you in in your reasoning there.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_01: Um, another game that I could see being very sluggish, Iowa and Michigan, uh in Ann Arbor, Michigan is favored by five and a half.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_01: The overunder is set at 39 and a half.
- 1:10:53SPEAKER_01: That gives you an implied score of 20 to 14.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm whenever I see a total that low, everybody's intuition is like, oh, well, they can score 40 points.
- 1:11:05SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take the under 39 and a half and not watch this game.
- 1:11:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I'm with you, but just to switch it up, yeah, just for bragging rights purposes, I'm gonna take Iowa Moneyline.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, there is a dedicated listener of this podcast, Brandon Ogden, who you met actually last year.
- 1:11:27SPEAKER_01: Um, he's a diehard Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_01: He will love you for doing that on.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_00: I just feel like karma fine finally catches up.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_00: You're supposed to lose to Western Michigan.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_00: Um, who did they just play?
- 1:11:41SPEAKER_00: They just played somebody, and that game was well.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_01: They played Oklahoma two weeks ago, yeah.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_01: They won't barely won.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_01: And then they played UTEP last week, and they was yeah, UTE was close from a lot of that game.
- 1:11:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so it's like it finally you keep chopping that wood, the wood finally breaks.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_00: Give me Iowa.
- 1:12:01SPEAKER_00: That's just uh that's just a a good coach team.
- 1:12:04SPEAKER_00: You know they're gonna come with good defense, and this is just an Iowa game.
- 1:12:08SPEAKER_00: Like, this is what they do.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_00: I don't care if you Ohio State, I feel like all Iowa, Iowa had a run where like 15 games in a row went under.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I just feel like, yeah, give me give me Iowa money line.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 1:12:26SPEAKER_01: Uh staying in the Big Ten, uh, Oregon and USC.
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_01: So Oregon obviously removed two weeks away from their loss to Oklahoma State.
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_01: USC is still undefeated.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_01: Oregon travels to USC where they are road favorites by three points.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_01: The over-under is set at 62 and a half.
- 1:12:47SPEAKER_01: Honestly, I'll let you go first, actually.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_01: You you go you go first, and then I'll I'll give my pick.
- 1:12:53SPEAKER_00: Nicole Sam is a dump these days, but uh I feel like they gotta get up for this one.
- 1:13:00SPEAKER_00: Um Dan Dan Lanning is teetering on bus fraud watch, uh Phil Knight.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_00: Like, it's no coach that get an excuse.
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_00: Like, well, coaches get excuses, but he's one that don't get it.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_00: Because Phil Knight, you got Nike money, you got like the meth money, you got everything money-wise pumped into organ.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_00: Um, I feel like they on fraud watch.
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_00: I feel like both coaches on fraud watch, but Dan even more just because of the resources he had since day one.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_00: He was the chosen one.
- 1:13:35SPEAKER_00: Um, I should have known all of that was a fraud because he comes from the Mike Norvell tree.
- 1:13:40SPEAKER_00: So that's that.
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_00: I think I'm gonna take, I say all that to say, I think I'm gonna take uh USC the plus three.
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know how this game is gonna shake.
- 1:13:53SPEAKER_00: This one is one of those that's too close to call for me.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_00: So I just know it's not gonna be, it's gonna stay close.
- 1:14:00SPEAKER_00: USC could win, but do you trust them?
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_00: Would you put your money on it?
- 1:14:04SPEAKER_00: Oregon could win, but would you put your money on it?
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_00: They on the road.
- 1:14:08SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know, man.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_01: Maybe all the bluts and Crips get together and go to the hood and comp and I think that my take on this game is that most people are gonna be on USC.
- 1:14:20SPEAKER_01: Um, and a lot of people have left the Oregon bandwagon.
- 1:14:25SPEAKER_01: And I'm with you.
- 1:14:25SPEAKER_01: Like, I think there's a lot of sus behavior out of Eugene Oregon, whether it's things that he's Dan Lanning says or things that they do.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_01: I also didn't really love that they had to score 84 points on an 0-4 Portland state team.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_01: It just that felt weird to me.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_01: That being said, I just I do think they have a better team than USC.
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna take Oregon moneyline on the road.
- 1:14:51SPEAKER_00: Um, I think are you saying this?
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_00: Are you saying this based on the fact that you think Dante is gonna stop telling people if it's a runner or pass with a stance?
- 1:15:00SPEAKER_01: My God, I hope so.
- 1:15:02SPEAKER_01: That is one of the craziest that and the fact that Oregon didn't figure that out themselves before a linebacker on Oklahoma State did is well, you know they say Indiana.
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_00: Indiana was saying this last year when they played.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_01: Crazy.
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_01: Crazy.
- 1:15:21SPEAKER_01: Um, I am gonna take Oregon.
- 1:15:22SPEAKER_01: This could be the this honestly could be the last hurrah if Oregon loses this game.
- 1:15:27SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna I'm gonna die on the Oregon Hill this week.
- 1:15:31SPEAKER_01: Um, probably the biggest group of six matchup, um, and if Boise State is able to win this game, they will be a on near lock to make the playoffs as the 12th seed.
- 1:15:43SPEAKER_01: They travel out to Western Michigan to take on those Broncos who should be 3-0, but they are 2-1.
- 1:15:50SPEAKER_01: Boise State travels as a road seven and a half point favorite.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_01: The over-under set at 49.5.
- 1:15:57SPEAKER_01: I think that western Michigan is going to really get up for this game.
- 1:16:01SPEAKER_01: They have a good defense and they have a good running back.
- 1:16:04SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take Western Michigan plus the seven and a half.
- 1:16:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't think this game's gonna be close.
- 1:16:11SPEAKER_00: I feel like you lose a game like that.
- 1:16:15SPEAKER_00: And um, like you said, Boise, if they win this game, they should be in the playoffs.
- 1:16:23SPEAKER_00: That that regime, they they kind of know how it goes.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_00: They done been close, they done had a Heisman winner.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_00: They kind of, I mean, finalists, because he didn't win, right?
- 1:16:34SPEAKER_00: No, Travis won that year.
- 1:16:36SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 1:16:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Travis beat him.
- 1:16:38SPEAKER_00: But like going on the road, I feel like this is their prove it game.
- 1:16:43SPEAKER_00: They don't get a lot of those prove it games.
- 1:16:45SPEAKER_00: I think Boise is gonna win this game by a lot, but I'll just take the money line.
- 1:16:51SPEAKER_00: Um, I think Western Michigan is just hard to muster that up that you had for regular Michigan again.
- 1:16:59SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, I just think they're finna get smoked.
- 1:17:03SPEAKER_01: So I am on Western Michigan.
- 1:17:05SPEAKER_01: But uh Chevy is on Boise.
- 1:17:08SPEAKER_01: The last game we're going to pick is Georgia and Oklahoma.
- 1:17:11SPEAKER_01: This is going into Norman.
- 1:17:13SPEAKER_01: Georgia's going into Norman.
- 1:17:15SPEAKER_01: They are a 14-point road favorite in Norman.
- 1:17:20SPEAKER_01: The over-under is set at 44 and a half.
- 1:17:22SPEAKER_01: And to me, this just feels like if there was a buy low spot on Oklahoma, this is as low as it's going to get.
- 1:17:30SPEAKER_01: They will never be 14-point underdogs at home to anybody the rest of the season.
- 1:17:36SPEAKER_01: I'm going to take Oklahoma.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm going to take Oklahoma plus 14.
- 1:17:40SPEAKER_01: That feels like a big reaction number to how they played the last two weeks and how Georgia's played against not very good teams.
- 1:17:48SPEAKER_01: I'm going to take Oklahoma plus the 14.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_01: Where are you going?
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_00: Uh, give me the over in this game.
- 1:17:56SPEAKER_00: Um, I would have took the money line, but that's just too easy.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_00: So just give me the over.
- 1:18:01SPEAKER_00: I also think Oklahoma quarterback sucks.
- 1:18:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:18:05SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't think he's good at all.
- 1:18:08SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know how he still has a job.
- 1:18:11SPEAKER_00: I think he can just switch it, do the quarterback switch now while it's early in the year, and you only, well, you're about to be two and two.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 1:18:19SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I feel like Kirby, nobody's talking about Georgia.
- 1:18:24SPEAKER_00: This is like the first year with Georgia is like, oh, they're good.
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_00: They rank number two.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_00: But when you hear people talk about teams, what is Georgia isn't second in that pecking order?
- 1:18:36SPEAKER_00: It's probably Ohio State, it's probably Texas.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_00: Um like, so they're not getting the love, even like on defense.
- 1:18:42SPEAKER_00: I don't think people say they have like the best defense in the country no more.
- 1:18:47SPEAKER_00: So I feel like they just in even though they number two, they just in the weeds, they just like playing, but I feel like they on the mission.
- 1:18:54SPEAKER_00: Like ever since Kirby, like Kirby be on Twitter, and he's seen that he never covered a spread, or he never covered spreads.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_00: All he's been doing is covering spreads.
- 1:19:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, so yeah.
- 1:19:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_00: So give me that, give me that over because I feel like they're gonna score at least 31 themselves.
- 1:19:11SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 1:19:11SPEAKER_01: I like that.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_01: That I like I like that angle there.
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_01: Um, a few other notable games that I'll just uh point out, and you can tell me if you like or are excited about any of these.
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_01: Clemson at Cal late night on Friday night, actually.
- 1:19:26SPEAKER_01: I think that's a 10 p.m.
- 1:19:28SPEAKER_01: Eastern kickoff.
- 1:19:29SPEAKER_01: Um, Wisconsin at Penn State.
- 1:19:31SPEAKER_01: Penn State is a nine and a half point favorite.
- 1:19:33SPEAKER_01: Utah at Iowa State, they are a seven-point road favorite.
- 1:19:37SPEAKER_01: The Utah Utes are Wake at Louisville.
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_01: Louisville is a 12.5 point favorite.
- 1:19:43SPEAKER_01: Northwestern at Indiana, Indiana is a 21-point favorite against Northwestern.
- 1:19:48SPEAKER_01: UCLA at Maryland, they travel all the way across the country and they are still one and a half point favorites.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_01: Minnesota at Washington, and South Carolina travels to Alabama, who opened as a 12-point favorite.
- 1:20:02SPEAKER_01: Any of those stand out to you?
- 1:20:05SPEAKER_00: Um, a couple of them.
- 1:20:06SPEAKER_00: A couple of them stand out.
- 1:20:08SPEAKER_00: Obviously, the Miami game.
- 1:20:10SPEAKER_00: This is gonna be their second.
- 1:20:11SPEAKER_00: Because this at wait, no, they're not playing Cal Cali this year, right?
- 1:20:15SPEAKER_00: I mean this uh this week.
- 1:20:17SPEAKER_00: Clemson and Cal.
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah.
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_00: So I meant the Clemson game because uh Miami played like a high school this week.
- 1:20:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they play Central Michigan.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_00: So yeah, Clemson, they should have lost that game.
- 1:20:28SPEAKER_00: I'm just trying to see when does Dabbo actually just boil over and just lose it.
- 1:20:33SPEAKER_00: Uh, it should have been this week, but another delay saved somebody.
- 1:20:39SPEAKER_00: So um, yeah, I'm always watching them closely because they suck.
- 1:20:42SPEAKER_00: They offense is terrible.
- 1:20:45SPEAKER_00: Um, those two wide receivers they got that's supposed to be good.
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_00: They aren't.
- 1:20:49SPEAKER_00: Um maybe just a quarterback thing.
- 1:20:52SPEAKER_00: But yeah, so I'm I'm looking at that game.
- 1:20:55SPEAKER_00: I'm watching our Louisville Cardinals.
- 1:20:57SPEAKER_00: I gotta see if they're gonna keep it up or they're gonna stumble because Gino and Hernandez, they found something against Miami, who should have a better roster than Louisville.
- 1:21:07SPEAKER_00: Um, the Utah game, I'm not gonna really pay too much.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna watch it, but I'm not gonna really pay too much to attention to Penn State Wisconsin.
- 1:21:17SPEAKER_00: I feel like that might be the one.
- 1:21:20SPEAKER_00: I feel like Wisconsin, and I and watch, I'm gonna be saying this, and I'm gonna look at the score and it's 38-0.
- 1:21:27SPEAKER_00: But Penn State was playing some dookie team.
- 1:21:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was like maybe it was old Dominion.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_01: Uh last week they played Buffalo and they did not look very good.
- 1:21:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so they I think they that that could be a trap game for them.
- 1:21:43SPEAKER_00: It's an ugly kick.
- 1:21:45SPEAKER_00: It's on at five o'clock on Peacock.
- 1:21:47SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 1:21:48SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, them the ones I'm I'm paying attention to because it's college football.
- 1:21:53SPEAKER_00: Every time we look at a schedule, this is a juicy schedule.
- 1:21:56SPEAKER_00: I remember we were texting and we was like, dang, it doesn't get good to like week three, week four.
- 1:22:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is this is the week where college football is gonna show wise kings.
- 1:22:06SPEAKER_01: That's exactly right.
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_01: So to recap our picks, Chevy is on Texas, on the Gators, on Mississippi State, on the under in the LSU AM game, on Iowa, straight up to win as road dogs.
- 1:22:21SPEAKER_01: USC plus three, Boise State minus seven and a half, and Georgia, Oklahoma over 44.5.
- 1:22:29SPEAKER_01: I am on the Tennessee Volunteers.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry to say that again, plus five and a half, the Gators money line, Missoo, Mississippi State over 58.5, the first half under in the LSU AM game, the Iowa, Michigan under Oregon money line, Western Michigan plus seven and a half, and Oklahoma plus 14.
- 1:22:50SPEAKER_01: Well, the last thing that I always ask everybody that jumps in the tailgate cam podcast, Chevy, did you have a good time in the tailgate?
- 1:22:59SPEAKER_00: I had a great time, man.
- 1:23:00SPEAKER_00: This was fun.
- 1:23:01SPEAKER_00: This is like the second best tailgate, minus the slab.
- 1:23:04SPEAKER_00: It's it's almost as good as the slab.
- 1:23:06SPEAKER_00: Almost all we need to do is circle up.
- 1:23:09SPEAKER_00: We got to find a spot to circle up at.
- 1:23:11SPEAKER_00: Maybe we can do that next time.
- 1:23:13SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_01: That's a good idea.
- 1:23:15SPEAKER_01: Well, uh, I appreciate you jumping in the tailgate.
- 1:23:18SPEAKER_01: Uh, I'm excited to have him.
- 1:23:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, thank you.
- 1:23:21SPEAKER_01: Thank you for taking some time to join the tailgate and uh excited to talk some more ball and then see you this weekend at the slab.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_01: We have a big NFL game.
- 1:23:31SPEAKER_01: The Patriots travel to Jacksonville.
- 1:23:34SPEAKER_01: Uh, we'll we'll be there ready to tailgate for that game on Sunday.
- 1:23:38SPEAKER_01: So uh you oh go ahead.
- 1:23:41SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 1:23:42SPEAKER_00: No, I was saying we're gonna be there bright and early.
- 1:23:44SPEAKER_00: You coming with a guest.
- 1:23:45SPEAKER_00: It's always a good time when I see you.
- 1:23:48SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm just excited for this weekend.
- 1:23:51SPEAKER_00: After tomorrow, tomorrow's the last waste day.
- 1:23:54SPEAKER_00: And then Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, we're back.
- 1:23:57SPEAKER_01: Yep, that's exactly right.
- 1:23:59SPEAKER_01: Uh well, Chevy, again, I appreciate you jumping in the tailgate.
- 1:24:03SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much.
- 1:24:04SPEAKER_01: I'll talk to you soon, man.
- 1:24:05SPEAKER_01: Hey, go knows, baby.
- 1:24:16SPEAKER_01: That was our tail, the tailgate locks.
- 1:24:19SPEAKER_01: All of your college football picks and tips for week four.
- 1:24:24SPEAKER_01: You know, college football is one of the best and most entertaining sports because you never know what's gonna happen.
- 1:24:30SPEAKER_01: Just like we talked about with that NC State Vanderbilt game, you never know what's gonna happen.
- 1:24:35SPEAKER_01: But one thing that is almost always gonna be the case is that you can find a gold star of the weekend in college football, and I sure did this weekend.
- 1:24:45SPEAKER_01: So I have two gold stars for this weekend.
- 1:24:47SPEAKER_01: One of them has to go to Trinidad Chambliss.
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_01: He threw for 366 yards, excuse me, 363 yards.
- 1:24:56SPEAKER_01: Don't mean to overcredit him too much with those three extra yards, two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown.
- 1:25:04SPEAKER_01: And obviously, Ole Miss got the win against LSU and their former head coach and Lane Kiffin.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_01: So, Trinidad Chambliss, you are one of my gold stars for the weekend.
- 1:25:14SPEAKER_01: But the other one has to go to Sean Sheriff and his massive KO of UFC heavyweight Gable Stevenson.
- 1:25:22SPEAKER_01: He was the biggest underdog on the card, and he had the most electric knockout of the night.
- 1:25:27SPEAKER_01: Sean Saraff, Trinidad Chambliss.
- 1:25:30SPEAKER_01: Y'all both are my gold stars of the weekend.
- 1:25:34SPEAKER_01: What to watch this week?
- 1:25:36SPEAKER_01: We talked about baseball when the show opened, the conclusion of the MLB regular season, the seeding, and how things change as some of these final results unfold as it does every year.
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_01: Things will change during this last week of the season.
- 1:25:52SPEAKER_01: So make sure you're paying attention and following along to whoever your team is.
- 1:25:56SPEAKER_01: Specifically, my what to watch for heading into this week is the Diamondbacks and the Padres.
- 1:26:04SPEAKER_01: Both of those teams, the Padres are currently the last NL wildcard team, while the Diamondbacks are the team looking outside, looking in uh for the NL Wildcard race.
- 1:26:16SPEAKER_01: So it will be quite a sight there to see if the Diamondbacks are able to make up ground against the Padres.
- 1:26:24SPEAKER_01: And that is it for our Tailgate episode today.
- 1:26:27SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much to everybody that listens to the Tailgate Cam podcast.
- 1:26:31SPEAKER_01: Please remember to like, comment, subscribe, and rate the podcast wherever you get your shows.
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_01: I am your host, Cameron Clark.
- 1:26:40SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for tuning in.
- 1:26:42SPEAKER_01: Peace.
