- 0:50But jazz end the season. So we thought that this kind of
- 0:54preview would be a bit Nah, but then all the things that.
- 0:59Happened quiet week hasn't it? Is well, I say what has been
- 1:01nice, It's not. There's been no drama from a
- 1:04United perspective. It's been positive, positive
- 1:07news and it's kind of positive news or obviously other than
- 1:09Arsenal in the league, but like over some of the other big news
- 1:12of the week is that I can look at in a positive manner so.
- 1:17Definitely. And I kind of don't really know
- 1:19where to start. You just kind of throw it up on
- 1:21that doubt ball there. But let's start with something
- 1:23good from United Carrot confirmed permanent.
- 1:27What do you think? Yeah, like obviously everyone
- 1:29who has come in and I'm still happy with the decision and
- 1:34yeah, like 2 + 1 contracts, it's just sensible.
- 1:38Like I don't think they need to be messing around with four or
- 1:40five year contracts. And I don't think he would have
- 1:43expected that either just based on kind of what's been happening
- 1:46in the past and being stung so many times.
- 1:48So yeah, makes sense from a contract perspective.
- 1:52And then like the the the comments from the Carrick and
- 1:58and from the club were obviously really positive.
- 2:00And Ben, like we were saying the other day with Casimiro, it's
- 2:03like when you get get into United, like there's a it's
- 2:07slightly different like love affair which people have with it
- 2:09and players and coaches have with it.
- 2:11And obviously Carrot's one of those like, yeah, he's one with
- 2:15United. He's one of our most decorated
- 2:17players. And hopefully he can start
- 2:19building on that from a management perspective as well.
- 2:21But yeah, I've got a lot of optimism with it.
- 2:23It's hard. You can't not, I guess the only
- 2:26thing is like when you get like a new manager, like say we've
- 2:31got someone new in there's, it's like a shiny object excitement.
- 2:34But because he's kind of, he's already done it already, which
- 2:37is a good thing. I guess there's not that massive
- 2:40fanfare you get when he's actually signed the contract
- 2:42because he's been doing it and he's doing a great job.
- 2:44But like if we were again, Enrique, it would be buzzing.
- 2:46But I kind of like this. It's it's like a it's steady and
- 2:50it's like karaoke, just kind of calm and there's everything's
- 2:52being quite calm and hopefully that continues and the results
- 2:55continue in the same way. But what do you think?
- 2:59Yeah, I agree. I think it's clever in terms of,
- 3:02you know, the two years. Don't go crazy Racine, your
- 3:05stuff with six years and pile on like, you know, you don't have
- 3:08to be like this is the future forever because we all know in
- 3:10football as well, things changed so quickly.
- 3:13So yeah, hopefully he smashes those two years and then he just
- 3:17keeps going, you know. But yeah, I think he really
- 3:20deserves it. Apparently, you know, best
- 3:21Premier League record of any manager since he joined.
- 3:24Well, me and you, me and you have been advocates.
- 3:27He's done so well since he did join as well.
- 3:29Well, so yeah, I'm really, I'm really happy.
- 3:32How do you think it changes? Because he comes in as an
- 3:34interim and kind of not the pressures off because he's my
- 3:37United manager, but it's a completely different feel and
- 3:39now he's the guy. What?
- 3:41What do you think changes? I guess, yeah, the pressure
- 3:44changes and then I see the window will put more pressure on
- 3:50him as well, even though like he's not really a manager
- 3:53decision anymore. It's very much a head club
- 3:55decision on who people sign. But I think last year when we
- 3:59finished 15, Favor was like, give him a window, do all this.
- 4:03So it's like what? You've got to apply those same
- 4:05rules to Carrick, especially because he's actually done well
- 4:08rather than finishing 15 and playing horrendous football.
- 4:11So you've got to give him the same kind of bandwidth.
- 4:13So you've got to hope that I think the fans will be that way
- 4:18and supporting If when we do inevitably hit some bad patches,
- 4:21we've got to hope that we we people keep backing him.
- 4:24And you do, you just know, I already know like Gary Neville
- 4:28and Roy Keane will be jumping straight, straight on him.
- 4:31And it's like, well, like Gary was pretty defensive of Amarin
- 4:35for a long time despite those horrific results.
- 4:37So I'd like to see the same. But I think also looking at like
- 4:43some of the media the last few days, like related to Fergie and
- 4:46Pep and all this kind of stuff, like we are click bait.
- 4:49Like we're the biggest click bait club in the world, right?
- 4:51So, yeah, I suspect that will continue and that will kind of,
- 4:56I don't even add pressure to Carrick himself or the club
- 4:58internally, but the fan pressure and the media pressure will be
- 5:02there whenever anything goes slightly wrong because it sells
- 5:06advertising space, it sells papers.
- 5:08It's people still buy papers, you know, I mean, so that's
- 5:11going to happen. I just think, I think he's, I
- 5:13think he knows that and I think he'll be equipped to handle it
- 5:16as well. Yeah, banging on that.
- 5:18What is it Out of the flames into the fire.
- 5:20Yeah, but I think you'll be it'll be so delighted to stop
- 5:23having to feel questions about his future now and then at least
- 5:26he can just be like, right. I mean 1000 of a daft questions
- 5:29are going to come now in different forms.
- 5:31But but yeah, both of us have said it for a while, excited
- 5:35they've done excited they've taken us forward into summer and
- 5:38hopefully that gives us a nice setup as in terms of new players
- 5:41as well to be like this. The guy we did last season, run
- 5:44upward trajectory, Let's go. But sticking with managers on
- 5:50the other side of the City, Pet Guardiola is going jazz.
- 5:55My main question is he jumping ship before shit hits the fan?
- 6:00I it's a very weird timed thing and it came out in a bit quite a
- 6:09weird way as well. Like obviously kind of must have
- 6:11got leaked and they weren't happy and all this kind of
- 6:13stuff. And then I saw I think Steve
- 6:16Harrison put a did a video the other day and he referred back
- 6:20to a quote from when the charges first came.
- 6:22And he said, I think roughly said something like if I find
- 6:26out the club have lied to me, I'll leave the next day.
- 6:29And part of you wonders, like as he found out something, the way
- 6:34the results are going to go with the charges of my that all
- 6:38thinks he's been done dirty a bit and he's like, well, kind of
- 6:42sticking to his word, which you kind of think Peps the kind of
- 6:44guy who would do that and he's just going bust me out.
- 6:48I don't know, like, oh, you might just be burnt out and just
- 6:50be like, I'm done. 10 years is a long time.
- 6:51He's been very successful. So it just seems like weird
- 6:56timing to start, start the rebuild of a squad and not to go
- 7:04out with a title win seems a bit weird because, yeah, that's the
- 7:09only thing that makes me think maybe it is related to the
- 7:11charges, but we'll find out. But I think I saw it in the news
- 7:15every day that it is like imminent the result, which will
- 7:19be I think they said early June is likely it's going to come
- 7:21out. So, yeah, it is interesting
- 7:23timing. What do you think of the timing?
- 7:26Yeah, well, yeah, first of all, obviously if the Southampton
- 7:29stuffs anything to go by, then everyone now is extra tuned into
- 7:33OK, if this stuff has happened, it needs to be serious.
- 7:37Yeah, the whole of football will be up in arms if so.
- 7:40You know, even half of these charges come through and they
- 7:43just get a slap on the wrist. Our financial Interestingly, we
- 7:46were supposed to be joined by our city mate today, weren't we
- 7:49just Phil yeah, we do have city mate yeah, we we love we love a
- 7:52man hate him, but he ran off as well because he must be scared
- 7:55It's a. City empty seat, right?
- 7:59Exactly. We should have, we should have
- 8:00put on camera just like a blue seat because that's what we're
- 8:04used to. But no, I, I'm, I don't know.
- 8:08Yeah, I think that's a bit like that.
- 8:10In his farewell message, he did say don't ask me the reasons I'm
- 8:12leaving. There is no reason.
- 8:14But deep inside I know it's my time.
- 8:16Nothing is eternal. If it was, I would be here.
- 8:19Fair. Maybe that enough.
- 8:21Maybe don't feel as the energy. But Arsenal have just won it one
- 8:25more year just to kind of go back with this team that's now
- 8:28reinforced and just get it done and leave with the Premier
- 8:31League. Just feels that he'd do that,
- 8:35yeah. So yeah, maybe it's maybe it's
- 8:36wishful thinking, but it just does feel that there's something
- 8:39else. Yeah, potentially, yeah.
- 8:41Yeah, I just think you did. You'd want to go on a high, but
- 8:44I guess you still want 2 trophies, but not not the league
- 8:48or the Champions League. So yeah, it'll be, it's going to
- 8:50be a very interesting few weeks. It will, and we'll talk about it
- 8:54more if it gets confirmed, but obviously the strong rumors are
- 8:57that the rescue would be coming in his successor.
- 8:59What do you think? Bike like obviously our mate, he
- 9:03was going to become on he was he's quite underwhelmed by it.
- 9:06I think they're concerned now about the pull, like they
- 9:13haven't just they're just not them just won the league.
- 9:16They've lost the manager, which I think pulled in a lot of
- 9:18players. Obviously money helped as well,
- 9:19but to work under part, I believe that one of the better
- 9:23best managers ever, then that's a massive pull and Maresco
- 9:27doesn't have the same pull. There's no way.
- 9:29So I think that's what City fans are concerned about, I suspect.
- 9:34And yeah, as a manager, I think with the squad they've got, like
- 9:39he will still be a title challenger, I suspect.
- 9:43I'm not imagining a massive drop off, but I'm thinking more long
- 9:46term. Like I probably don't think
- 9:49they'll win the league next year.
- 9:50And it's going to be hard to to replace some of these stars
- 9:54because there isn't someone there.
- 9:57So again, probably thinks is he The Who was it?
- 10:04I guess you think in Enzo. Enzo Moiseska, the fall guy.
- 10:08Yeah, exactly. The fall guy.
- 10:09And then again, there's probably to be our luck that like Carrick
- 10:13has a good season and 1/2 or so, then we beat him off and then
- 10:17Enrique's gone to city like 6 months before.
- 10:19Like that's what I kind of think is that it could be that kind of
- 10:22thing. But also if they do get done by
- 10:24all these charges, then I don't think many managers are wanting
- 10:28to go there either. So yeah, I think he's, I mean,
- 10:31he's the obvious appointment. He's a similar sort of styled
- 10:34manager. He's summary intense.
- 10:36It's just when you get the same reaction from the players with
- 10:39that intensity when you don't have a million trophies in your
- 10:44your back pocket like Pepto. So I think that's, yeah, it's
- 10:47going to be really interesting. Like I guess we thought when
- 10:49clock left that slot would do rubbish, but that just took
- 10:54extra season because he didn't change anything and now he's
- 10:58doing rubbish. So yeah, it's going to be
- 11:00entertaining season next year. Yeah, it's going to be really
- 11:04interesting. Like I just I don't really know
- 11:06what kind of what to make event. It's just you mentioned men in
- 11:08terms of a manager going in. Surely you would go in being
- 11:11like, look, what is the crack with these charges before I come
- 11:14in? And surely you would have
- 11:16written in your contract somewhere that if worst case
- 11:18scenario happens, you know, then I'm not, I get to exit.
- 11:22But he's going to be it. Mariska has won the championship
- 11:25before, so maybe he fancies it again.
- 11:29Or is that the flag? Fancy is League 1.
- 11:31I don't know. We'll see.
- 11:33Plan. Plan for the future.
- 11:35Yeah. He's like, oh, I can win the
- 11:36championship again. I love that though.
- 11:39It's brilliant. Brilliant.
- 11:40All right, Well, a big one, a big one, and it's kind of all
- 11:44still coming out, so we'll probably get to chat about it a
- 11:47bit more when we review the last game of the season.
- 11:49But yeah, interesting. And then Jazz, we've had a bit
- 11:52of fun with them but we'll have to see it.
- 11:55Congratulations to Arsenal on winning the Premier League.
- 11:58You know, I will say it's horrible to watch and experience
- 12:04all of them happening, but we are, if I can look at it, I am
- 12:08happier that they won it and stately winning it.
- 12:10Yeah, especially now I know Pep's leaving.
- 12:12It's even, it's better because I don't want him going out on a
- 12:15high like thing he did. So yeah, yeah, it's, I think we
- 12:19said it throughout. It's like the Arsenal fans make
- 12:23us question it. But overall I came back.
- 12:26If I had the choice, I'd choose Arsenal to win over a city.
- 12:31But it just made it a little bit difficult because I guess also
- 12:35because of this and the table doesn't lie, they deserve to win
- 12:37the league because they've won the league.
- 12:38That's the way the table works. But the way they've done it is
- 12:43like start of the season, not so bad, but second-half season it's
- 12:46been stodgy and disgusting to watch.
- 12:51Like the last few games, like 1 Nils and dodgy decisions where
- 12:55habits kind of fly into people's legs and nothing happening.
- 12:58And like the river, the green went their way for sure.
- 13:01But yeah, fair play, they won the league.
- 13:03Like I can, I can handle it, I can move on quickly.
- 13:06I just can't, I can't win the Champions League because that
- 13:10will be horrific. I've some of the videos I've
- 13:12seen already about talking, I think what is it this guy?
- 13:18I saw this one one on Arsenal fan TV doing this guy who's like
- 13:23artist has just confirmed he's the best manager in history.
- 13:26Like I know they're doing it for clickbait as well, but just why
- 13:30don't Why can't you just win a league and be happy You won a
- 13:32league without always having to go this is the best at this or
- 13:35the best of this that just you won the league.
- 13:38You're the best team this year. Then just have that.
- 13:41I'd be happy. Give this the best only one in
- 13:4222 years. So be happy, but start.
- 13:45I saw another one soccer better than Messi.
- 13:48Like what the hell? It's insanity.
- 13:52When you've been a podcast, it'd be like to have a bit of fun and
- 13:54we like to make some bold claims sometimes, but some of the stuff
- 13:57he just bonkers. It's like, how are you even
- 14:01claiming best ever? The teams have won it with 100
- 14:03points. Teams have, I hate to say it,
- 14:05but when it four times in a row like it's you're 1,000,000 miles
- 14:09off, they've won it four times ever and you know, like the city
- 14:13you're being allotted and 18 and we want it 13.
- 14:16So he's like this. So it's so far because we tried
- 14:19to start with congratulations, but right now, congratulations.
- 14:26I mean, I was surprised that it didn't go to the final game of
- 14:29the season. What do you think about that?
- 14:30Yeah, again, I thought as well with the manager stuff coming
- 14:34out on Pet, I thought sure, they're going to win that
- 14:36Bournemouth game. I didn't.
- 14:37I didn't watch it, so I don't know how close the game it was
- 14:42or if City were unlucky not to win it, but yeah, I was shocked.
- 14:45I didn't get over the line to to take it to that last game, which
- 14:48I think Arsenal would have won anyway, but now it's yeah, but
- 14:53they really haven't dropped off City last few games.
- 14:55It's odd because that's the part of the time when you like fresh
- 14:57his arm. They should they should go do
- 14:59it. And they still got a lot of
- 15:00players who have won leagues before in that team, even though
- 15:04I know there's kind of sprinkling of new players.
- 15:05But yeah, it's I was surprised that they did get I guess
- 15:10Bournemouth had something to play for as well because they
- 15:11can still get Champions League football.
- 15:12So that is possibly that they just had less bum had more fight
- 15:19sorry than City did on the day. I don't know.
- 15:22Yeah, and credits of Bournemouth, but, and we don't
- 15:25know what's happened and it sounds like Guardiola kept it as
- 15:28quiet as possible until now because he said he had to focus
- 15:31on a mission. But I was kind of thinking if
- 15:33you'd have basically kind of said to the players.
- 15:35Yeah, it's right though. Yeah.
- 15:37Yeah. Yeah, wouldn't, wouldn't it be?
- 15:39Well, maybe you get a mixed reaction because some of them
- 15:41might think you, you know, I've just signed.
- 15:45Yeah, yeah, a bit like it happened with like Van Persie
- 15:48and stuff with Fergie. But surely they would be then a
- 15:51little bit more of an emotional end.
- 15:53And like you say, a game at Bournemouth just wouldn't have
- 15:55happened. But who knows, he might.
- 15:56He may have done that. But.
- 15:58Apparently what I heard is that he told them the day before the
- 16:01Bournemouth game basically that he was staying now he was
- 16:04staying and then and then and then it got leaked obviously
- 16:08that he's leaving and then that's obviously that some of
- 16:11the players are unhappy. But still you think you still
- 16:15got a potential outside chance of winning the league.
- 16:17So if that doesn't still get you motivated to try and beat
- 16:19Bournemouth, then I think they just dropped off in general
- 16:22towards the end of the season. Like maybe that Arsenal one nil
- 16:25win against Bernie just kind of killed their hopes.
- 16:28But what happened? Now Palace will probably batter
- 16:31Arsenal like 4 Nils. Yeah, well they're all drunk and
- 16:34they're all been out in London till the early hours and stuff
- 16:36as well. So but that that to me is not
- 16:39best manager moves ever. I think Fergie would have
- 16:41handled that a little bit differently, wouldn't he, in
- 16:44terms of getting the players up for it.
- 16:46But yeah, again we're having to congratulate Arsenal.
- 16:49We will also congratulate Pat because you know, he has done
- 16:53stuff, a lot of good stuff obviously there unfortunately,
- 16:57but might all be Astrid anyway. Harry Tyson, they.
- 17:01Went 115 was it? One that that's charges that.
- 17:07Charges. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:09Not championships. No, no, no, no.
- 17:12Yeah, yeah. Some of the news, y'all and John
- 17:17McGinn lifting the role police and you know Emory.
- 17:20Why do they just call it that? You know Emory.
- 17:22Trophy. Yeah.
- 17:23You know, you know, you know, you know, you're in police.
- 17:28Yeah, that's 5. 5 now, right? From. 1.
- 17:31Have you seen in the final to? Every.
- 17:35With Arsenal, I was it wasn't he lost it with Yeah, yeah.
- 17:38But did you see that? That.
- 17:42Every team that he's won it with had Villa in the name Villa
- 17:46Royale Severe. Yeah, yeah, I'm not claiming
- 17:51that. I was all over Twitter.
- 17:52Yeah, quite, quite interested. So now I was thinking I wonder
- 17:56if he's put 2 together and joined Aston Villa for that
- 17:59exact. Reason I think who did he go to
- 18:01next to when you're open league with?
- 18:05It'd be like a villa, some like Argentinian team or something.
- 18:11Gonna play, yeah, yeah. But yeah, Congrats to them.
- 18:16Yeah, yeah, it's nice, kind of. I've enjoyed watching their
- 18:19celebrations. Although I will say I saw a clip
- 18:22of Sancho just like really loving it.
- 18:24And I just saw this guy like enjoy the time and stuff.
- 18:27But I don't know, we're just spitter by a moment.
- 18:29See. Yeah, we are.
- 18:31We are, We are. But credit to Villa.
- 18:33Yeah, this. Is 1 of things when it's like
- 18:35clubs like that winning trophies like I'm always would like to
- 18:39see Villa do well. I want Palace to win the final,
- 18:41which basically maybe they don't want to see win things.
- 18:43It's basically like Chelsea, Spursish, well, obviously when
- 18:49they played us, but obviously then Arsenal, Liverpool, City, I
- 18:54don't want to see them winning anything.
- 18:55But everyone else I'm kind of like, yeah, crack on and Oh
- 18:59yeah, I'll just get Champions League spots and stuff, doesn't
- 19:01it? Because now I think it's down to
- 19:02sip, right? It's Champions League football.
- 19:04Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that's an interesting final,
- 19:08final day with that as well. Yeah, exactly.
- 19:11Question for you Jazz, would you swap United season for Villa
- 19:16season now so. While they finish Champions
- 19:20League football and when they Ripley and Yeah.
- 19:26Same. I was thinking of the other day
- 19:27and I was like, would I swap it? I'll be honest, this this is
- 19:31sometimes where we get called about elitist and stuff.
- 19:33I'm not a big lover of Europa League artists, I don't fully
- 19:36get it, but obviously it comes some amazing trips and some
- 19:39amazing games that happen. But I was thinking, yeah, I
- 19:43actually just had a thought there and I thought would I
- 19:45would I swap and probably wouldn't.
- 19:46Yeah, because they've still got what we've got in the and it
- 19:49plays behind a trophy and then celebrate this.
- 19:52Yeah. So yeah, I would.
- 19:53I'd swap it. Fair, fair.
- 19:57All right, let's keep marching on the moment got to the game
- 19:58yet, because there's so much going on and this is another big
- 20:00topic. I know you're a Scotsman, so
- 20:03we've got a little bit. You're not as in it as me, but
- 20:06too cool. I'm still.
- 20:07I'm still in it, especially when it comes to the United players.
- 20:10They obviously want to see United players at the.
- 20:11World Cup and tell tell everyone what you hope for England
- 20:16typically in tournaments that you always say to me.
- 20:18To get to get either at least to like a semi final or a fire they
- 20:24can get to final but basically you just never win it.
- 20:27Because I like the atmosphere of England going fire and my
- 20:30friends being happy and like drinking until the end.
- 20:34Until. Then you want us to cry?
- 20:35I want you to cry and lose some penalties.
- 20:40So yeah, that's my usual, my usual thinking behind it
- 20:43actually. Even more so when Scotland
- 20:45haven't made one. But we've made it this time, so.
- 20:48Yeah, I'm looking forward to that.
- 20:49I'm looking forward to World Cup content.
- 20:51But yeah, England squad jazz, what do you think?
- 20:54Yeah, like I just, it's a weird squad, but obviously the spine
- 20:59of it kind of obviously most of it makes sense, but there's a
- 21:01quite a few that I just I'd feel pretty gufty to with some of the
- 21:05players. I think the big, big one from
- 21:07from the United perspective is obviously McGuire.
- 21:09Like, I think he's had a great season.
- 21:11He even he said it himself, like he offers so much in both boxes.
- 21:15Like even if he's not starting, like bringing him on for the
- 21:18last 10 minutes against a team for corners, like, and he's done
- 21:23it. He's proven it time and time
- 21:24again for for England as well. So that one really shocked me.
- 21:27And I think if you saw, OK, Johnstone has been fit and
- 21:30playing well all season, then you go, OK, fine, but he's
- 21:33barely played. And even again, our mate city
- 21:36fan, he was like, I wouldn't have taken stones either.
- 21:39So I think that kind of shows that he he should be in there.
- 21:43And now I'm like, are you guys gonna I was thinking about this.
- 21:46Do you think because of his posts say concert gets injured,
- 21:51doesn't Ben, do you think they'll bring McGuire in or do
- 21:53you reckon he'll bring someone else in there because he's, you
- 21:55know, he's a bit like a temperamental manager, isn't he
- 21:56So. You might not have seen this
- 21:59because it was kind of just live before this, but I watched you
- 22:01close press conference and he got asked the question about the
- 22:04post and he kind of handled it. You kind of handled it well, but
- 22:07you could always quite blunt and honest.
- 22:10And he said he was surprised. You mentioned a couple of times
- 22:13he said he was surprised by the post and he said he was
- 22:16surprised because they had had a private conversation.
- 22:19So I definitely don't think it's gone down well.
- 22:21It's all I'd say it could really affect him, but he.
- 22:23Tried to translate surprise into German.
- 22:26That's human in it. Yeah, absolutely living.
- 22:29Yeah. And through that, you raised a
- 22:31good point as well in terms of he he just has to be there
- 22:37because he's played for England so often after during seasons
- 22:41when he's just been so much worse.
- 22:42And this is like probably the best.
- 22:44And. Then he's been through so much
- 22:47the person, which why is that relevant?
- 22:48Well, in a tournament you need to be so resilient and from lots
- 22:51of ups and downs and it's just, it doesn't make sense because
- 22:55you know, you look at I've got a lot of time for him.
- 22:56But Dan Burn, for example, how do you compare them to on paper
- 23:00and everything? Is it because he's played left?
- 23:02But this season is the only reason I can think that Dan
- 23:04Burns gone over. He's acted like he was between
- 23:07Stones and McGuire and Dan Ben was.
- 23:09I saw Dan Ben has that he has been playing left back a bit,
- 23:13which again, he's not. He's not a realistic if I'm
- 23:16Lewis Hall as well, he's probably in the best left back
- 23:19in the league this year and he's English and he's not in the
- 23:22squad. But your mate Dan Burney fills
- 23:24in that time again. He's in there.
- 23:26So that was well, never wanted to call you.
- 23:27I was like, that's an odd one. Yeah.
- 23:31And I kind of can get the shore thing because like he obviously
- 23:36has. He's played every game this year
- 23:37and he's been well, he's played well.
- 23:40But I guess if you're thinking like attacking outlet, he
- 23:45doesn't really have the legs to do that anymore, so that's
- 23:48probably why he doesn't blend. Does Dan Bern have the
- 23:50overlapping his pace? Probably not so.
- 23:53Yeah, but then Jed spends, for example, like is it you might
- 23:57get relegated, you know, I mean, and it's like, I don't know,
- 23:59he's just making he's making calls to call, which is like,
- 24:03you know, if we win it, the only the only way we get out of this
- 24:05is if we win it. Everyone goes this much.
- 24:07Yeah, he's made the right choices, yeah.
- 24:10Doesn't care what anyone says. He's made some great.
- 24:12It's a great blend. It just worked out amazing.
- 24:15If we don't win it, there's going to be more questions than
- 24:18the norm is which, you know, it's a circuit anywhere around
- 24:20England. So he's made some massive calls.
- 24:22I think let's go through some of us as well.
- 24:25No trend, I mean. I've not seen much of him this
- 24:29year I think from what I could see in the Champions League Real
- 24:33which I saw a few games. Same as old trend he basically
- 24:37you can put a worldly ball in, can cross but can't defend.
- 24:39So I get why he's yeah, not made it.
- 24:43Yeah, yeah, no, totally, totally.
- 24:46And then we've got folder no folder, no Palmer, which in a
- 24:50way I'm. I agree with that.
- 24:53It's quite. Refreshing, yeah, because a lot
- 24:55of time it's just pick the names, isn't it?
- 24:57And it has to be there. But like if they've not had the
- 24:59seasons and they're not necessarily fully fit or on it,
- 25:02like why should they go? Yeah, I get that.
- 25:04And it's a position which is a lot of talent anyway.
- 25:06So I I feel like there's the squad's not really missing much.
- 25:09And then Fodor's never played well for England either.
- 25:12So yeah, it makes makes sense. And I feel sorry for War and you
- 25:17know, he's a player and but I think there's like quite a few
- 25:21options as well. And I think it'll get his chance
- 25:24going forward. He probably just needs a bit of
- 25:26a move, doesn't need to be playing at a higher level to
- 25:27probably get even more on the radar.
- 25:29Yeah, missing him. I don't, I don't think not.
- 25:31I mean Wharton means that the squads lacking a particular
- 25:34style or skill or something. It's just he would be another
- 25:37good option in midfield if they're going to start.
- 25:41I guess actually the only thing I would be was talking for
- 25:44obvious one is Henderson because I'd literally have no idea why
- 25:47he's in the squad like. What did Roy Keane say?
- 25:50Is he do card tricks or something?
- 25:52Yeah, I don't know. What what does he do though?
- 25:54Like The thing is, he doesn't mean starting for for Brentford
- 25:58every week and he's in the squad.
- 25:59I'm like how? Because if you want that
- 26:02experience in this stuff, then we'll take McGuire because he's
- 26:05been playing well and he has all the experience that Henderson
- 26:07has and Henderson's never been a quality player.
- 26:10So I'm baffled by that one. Like, the one I feel sorry for
- 26:15the most is probably Gibbs White.
- 26:16I think he's been quality this season and he's been getting his
- 26:19performance recently been better.
- 26:21He's been improving as the summers got closer.
- 26:24And yeah, I feel very sorry for him.
- 26:27He's quite like he can play in multiple positions.
- 26:30So I felt pretty sorry for him and I thought he'd be a good
- 26:33addition in there. I'd agree.
- 26:36I think we raved about him as well, didn't we last week in the
- 26:39in the review of the game top player.
- 26:41You know, we are blessed with a lot of players and people are
- 26:45going to have to miss out on it just have to be based on I like
- 26:48you know, we don't want golden generations and names picked.
- 26:50We want a proper team that squad.
- 26:52More importantly, they can go and win this thing.
- 26:55But and so you, like I said, some of the decisions I
- 26:57understand, but some of my. What do you think containing?
- 26:59Inclusion. Yeah, I was going to say I think
- 27:02I'm happy with that because I mean without being very painful.
- 27:08Well, I think all right. You've done me, I think.
- 27:13That's why you think we know how's he going in front of Danny
- 27:16Welbeck. He's been scoring goals in and
- 27:18he's always scored for England when he's played as well.
- 27:20And yes, I think I've not seen Tony stats for this year.
- 27:24I don't know. He goes it in story.
- 27:26Ridiculous, but he's he's scored like I think it's 40 plus gold
- 27:30or something and I'm not being disrespectful, but obviously a
- 27:34different level. But then we won't we won't any
- 27:38well, but anyway, but look at the well.
- 27:39But what he's been doing, he's been basically like coming on
- 27:41making him like he's happy to kind of be second fiddle a
- 27:44little bit, mainly because of his age and that kind of stuff.
- 27:47But when he has started he's done it.
- 27:48So for me he just like would be a no brainer in the squad, but I
- 27:51guess he's looking at like, you know, all the strikers are
- 27:54available. And he said in his press
- 27:56conference that he managed. Did he manage or play with the
- 28:01manager of Tony right now? And he keeps getting really good
- 28:03feedback about him and stuff. So you have an idea.
- 28:05Some of the mad stuff go be about relationships and things.
- 28:09But Tony's a goal scorer. He's been playing at a lesser
- 28:12level. So I don't know what that means.
- 28:14But he's also got a bit about him, which.
- 28:16I guess it was a might be fresher in his hand, like if
- 28:18he's not playing such a high intensity lead and maybe after a
- 28:22hard season for lots of these players, he has more in the bank
- 28:26obviously. And conference is hard.
- 28:27It's got lots of goals. Also the strikers massive to
- 28:31have confidence, yeah. Well, Speaking of attackers and
- 28:34let's end the England chat on on this.
- 28:36You you made me aware of it just before we started recording.
- 28:39But I made Marcus Rashford is in which fair enough.
- 28:43Yeah. Then why is he have to have a
- 28:44little? I know I said dig because
- 28:46there's no need for it. Like at the end of day, maybe
- 28:50explain explain for people who he did a insta post basically
- 28:55saying obviously he feels really happy to have made the England
- 28:58squad, but then he called out like thanks to Hansy click
- 29:01again, fine, he's your current manager in bar.
- 29:02So yeah, great. But then he's already added on
- 29:05Unai Emery, he's added on Billa, he's added on.
- 29:08Is it someone else? Who else with it?
- 29:10Basically everyone apart from United.
- 29:12I mean, you wouldn't even be about any of these clubs if it
- 29:16wasn't United. Like, I know it just frustrates
- 29:19me that he makes out like he was done dirty at United, which he
- 29:24wasn't. He wasn't putting the effort in.
- 29:26He wasn't putting the work in. Like was always playing with a
- 29:29smile on his face now. And it's really nice to see.
- 29:31It's like that's your boyhood club that you support.
- 29:36Like how, why? Where was the effort?
- 29:38Where was the smile? Like it's just you should be
- 29:40appreciative of being at the club you grew up supporting and
- 29:44being happy. And so I just, yeah, fine if he
- 29:47feels that way. But those little subtle digs, he
- 29:49keeps making it United. He's done it a few Times Now.
- 29:51Just move on, mate. We've moved on.
- 29:54You just should just move on as well.
- 29:55But he keeps making these little comments and interviews and all
- 29:58this kind of stuff, and it's just like, unnecessary.
- 30:02Yeah, nailed on Jazz like and to me it just shows his true
- 30:06character a little bit because you know, Bruno keeps getting
- 30:09slammed all the time for everything he does.
- 30:11But he's such a professional, the way he talks, the way he
- 30:13conducts himself. You don't do snide things like
- 30:16that, Rashford. There's no need to do this like
- 30:18in theories kind of I would say ticking as well.
- 30:20We're down, but we're not we're not down or in a good spot.
- 30:23Obviously we're down in terms of we haven't won anything this
- 30:25season after that. But even if you post it and just
- 30:28kept a generic and just thanks to my managers, my clubs that
- 30:31kind of stuff or just don't post at all, but it just shows he's
- 30:34got this little bit of yeah, shit about him.
- 30:37And if the man forgets the reason why he's where he's at is
- 30:40because from I can't remember what the age he joined, but
- 30:43we've done so much towards his career progression and his
- 30:47development and then he's gone on to do the things he's doing.
- 30:50So we might have ended badly and you might not have been treated
- 30:53well at the very end, but don't write off the club.
- 30:55That's basically like. Those are the fans.
- 30:57Like I've seen social media, other people reacting like I
- 31:02have. And we have like, I think
- 31:06sometimes you think people forget that the reach and the
- 31:09people who are viewing this and the people who care about
- 31:11Manchester United and used to care about Rasford, and you're
- 31:14kind of just snubbing them and tarnishing everyone with the
- 31:17same brush where maybe it was just, yeah, I'm, I mean, you
- 31:19didn't get on or and so on. So it's just, yeah, it's just
- 31:25not nice, is it? I think I just think there's no
- 31:26need for it. Just just move on and stay
- 31:28quiet. Apparently thinks it's a little
- 31:32bit linked to the people around him but also there's this kind
- 31:35of what's going to happen with him officially in terms of
- 31:39Barcelona trying to get him on the cheap.
- 31:41That's where he wants to go. Is he trying to do?
- 31:43Is this to stab him doing a bit of a Ronaldo and a kickoff so
- 31:46that we're like miffed with him and we kind of like wash our
- 31:50hands of him and just try and. Just take it for 10 million.
- 31:52Yeah, yeah. Yeah, which I again that's.
- 31:55I'd rather I'd rather just bring him back and you can sit in the
- 31:58reserves if he wasn't on so much money, But like, yeah, if the
- 32:03way if you disrespect the club like he is doing, like we can
- 32:07just disrespect you. Yeah, I guess I can't figure if
- 32:09I was a multi multi billionaire, I'd be like I've got the power
- 32:13here, but you don't actually have the power.
- 32:15I have the power. Jim Radcliffe and go yeah, I'll
- 32:17just write off a billion quid. I'll no £17 million.
- 32:21Whoever is I probably made an interest in a month.
- 32:23So I'll put that in just just just despite you, which he
- 32:26could. He has the power to do that, but
- 32:29I'm sure that won't happen. Now I'm not a stupid like time
- 32:33to do it as well. Almost you can imagine almost if
- 32:35hammering we're still kicking around.
- 32:36But worst case you get to the in theory, go back to Manchester
- 32:40United, 1 of the biggest clubs in the world on the up with
- 32:43Michael Carrick, a manager that actually likes him.
- 32:46Yeah, and with us having a bit of a unknown on this left side
- 32:50as well. So it's it just seems ridiculous
- 32:53and like, yeah, you mentioned you show me you show me the post
- 32:55and I was just like, what are you doing?
- 32:56What do you get out of it? You're all you've had a good end
- 32:59to the season. You go into the World Cup, just
- 33:01say I'm buzzing. Can't wait.
- 33:02To go and. And leave it and.
- 33:05But yeah, so stupid. And he's just not helping the
- 33:09love for, you know, from up from United Funds, that's for sure.
- 33:13But yeah, all right, literally quite a few talking points
- 33:17there. We've got we've got a game to
- 33:20look forward to. To be honest, we can probably
- 33:21keep this pretty short as because let's be honest, last
- 33:24game of the season, it is a bit of a, you know, non event.
- 33:28Let's just say Brighton, they'll probably be a bit more skin in
- 33:32the game. Obviously they've got 53 points
- 33:35and depending on results they can and goals they can jump
- 33:39across a jump ahead of Bournemouth as well.
- 33:42So they've got. Nottingham Forest away.
- 33:49So I think Bournemouth would win that.
- 33:50So yeah, Brighton. But yeah, like basically
- 33:54Brighton have a bigger, a much bigger incentive to win
- 33:57obviously at home last game of season and and something to play
- 34:00for. So yeah, I don't think it's
- 34:02gonna be an easy afternoon for us.
- 34:05No, it needs to be a bit of a gold swing as well, I think for
- 34:07Brighton. But yeah, I think for us it's
- 34:10the Bruno mission, right? Let's try and get him at 21.
- 34:12Yeah. And then that's, I mean, if we
- 34:17lose, if we lose like 3-2 or something, but Bruno's got his
- 34:19assistant. Wouldn't that be asked?
- 34:22Really? I just want, I want him.
- 34:24That's that's the mission for the day.
- 34:26Obviously we always want to win the matches, but like for him to
- 34:28get that extra step, like, or if he got 2 assists, he ranks the
- 34:32European assist record as well. But I think it's Mueller.
- 34:35And so, yeah, like that's what we're hoping for.
- 34:38And I don't know, I feel like it will happen.
- 34:40I don't know if you agree, but I think it's going to happen.
- 34:44So do I, so do I, I really want it to, and I think you will.
- 34:47So let's see. Interesting as well.
- 34:49Castamero is not going to play. Yeah, we saw that.
- 34:53Yeah, we spoke last game about it being he's like Old Trafford
- 34:56farewell. And I kept slipping into it
- 34:58being his last game. I must have known, Yeah.
- 35:00It kind of makes sense when Sky explained it, didn't it?
- 35:02Like saying yeah, he's going out on a high, It's a nice way to
- 35:06end. We won the game, he got the
- 35:08amazing reception. Like if he actually last game
- 35:10for United was actually a loss to Brighton away.
- 35:13And yeah, I think it's quite nice.
- 35:16And also it's quite a good opportunity.
- 35:18Again, we'll get to teams in a minute, but for maybe to show
- 35:22some youth in some kind of key position and almost like it's
- 35:27like a free hit with playing some of these players.
- 35:30But then she because, well, we didn't want to play cast.
- 35:33We already agreed with that. And I don't know, maybe I don't
- 35:35know who knows about Yatte, But like, yeah, I think it's a free
- 35:38hit of a game really for some young blood to come into come
- 35:41into the team. Or should we have a go?
- 35:44I think this is I think will be will do very well to get this
- 35:47on. Well, go on chess then.
- 35:48I think my just to help you and maybe let's do it together.
- 35:51I think he's kind of going to be a bit of a farewell maybe for
- 35:53some players or a bit of a shot window a bit and a bit of youth.
- 35:56Yeah, maybe, but go on. Ever be brave of a star?
- 36:00But what do you think? I'm still going to go.
- 36:03I'll see Elevens and go. I'm still going to be Dallow, I
- 36:05think. I think it may be, I'm tempted
- 36:09to say Heaven and Martinez. That's a sense about caring.
- 36:16I think Shaw will play because if he does play and start, he's
- 36:18started every game with the Premier League season as you a
- 36:20nice little thing for him. So I think he'll start and then
- 36:24copy in the field. And this is where I'm like Mike,
- 36:30I would like him just to play like Jim Thwaites or something
- 36:32like that, but I don't think he will.
- 36:34I think it'll either be mount or Ugate there.
- 36:38I'm leaning towards Mount because I think what playing
- 36:44Ugate for one game isn't Maker gonna make someone go, Oh yeah,
- 36:46I'm going to spend 30 million on him.
- 36:49So I think maybe he won't start and it'll be Mount and then
- 36:54obviously Bruno and then it's Cesco still out, right?
- 36:59I think so. It's this injury again.
- 37:01Anyone with the world? They're not in the World Cup,
- 37:04no. No, they're not.
- 37:05Scrap that. I'm talking nonsense.
- 37:07But yeah, I think he's still got a doubt.
- 37:08Yeah, So I was thinking, is this where we can throw someone in?
- 37:12So you could have like Brian Lacey and Cuna.
- 37:21We'd be nice to see Shay Lacey start.
- 37:23I think in that game he played against Burnley cameo, like he
- 37:28looked really good. So it'd be nice to see him
- 37:29start. Like, I don't know where else
- 37:32you would start. Like it's easy to start a youth
- 37:36player in like attacking position because if you make
- 37:39mistakes, it's less costly, which is why it may be why we
- 37:43will see Mountain main field. But you obviously got like
- 37:46Fletcher Brothers and stuff like that.
- 37:48Potentially. I think we'll see lots of Subs
- 37:50come on, but I think maybe maybe Shay Lacy might be one that
- 37:53could start potentially. I don't know what you think
- 37:57like. Yeah, good effort because this
- 37:58is difficult. And I, I think it could be a bit
- 38:02bonkers because I think we spoke about it before, like you can
- 38:06almost like give up on the Premier League and like have
- 38:08focus on the World Cup. But I think now with it being
- 38:11one game left, we've kind of nothing to play for.
- 38:13It's almost a bit justified now to almost be like, is it really
- 38:16worth the risk for some of our better players to even play
- 38:20this? So I could even see for example,
- 38:22like Lemon's not actually playing for example, you know, I
- 38:25mean and like many changes. He's not going to start, he's
- 38:29not a starting goalkeeper in the World Cup, so I think he'll
- 38:31probably play. Yeah, My guess, yeah.
- 38:35Maybe, but you've got, you know, we've got people in school like
- 38:37by India is really just a chance to be like in this game, you
- 38:40know, I'm ever going to play if I'm not, if I'm not going to
- 38:42play with other things going on. So I don't know.
- 38:45I'm telling me seeing wherever you'll go.
- 38:47Yeah, like you say, almost strong to begin with, then start
- 38:50doing. A lot of.
- 38:50Changes I think McGuire, obviously it might be a bit of
- 38:53AFU game for him, you know, in terms of back back to to cool.
- 38:58And then they like say, I think we will see some some youth all
- 39:02being well, the likes of Lacy. But yeah, I can maybe see
- 39:06amount. I can maybe see zerks he coming
- 39:08in just a proper mix up to go. OK guys, you know, almost a
- 39:11farewell shop window. Yeah, I guess it could be either
- 39:14last game for like Xerxi and buying deer and people like that
- 39:18and. But this is me.
- 39:20This is me balling the liner. Really.
- 39:21I think you did a better job. Yeah.
- 39:23My theme is that I think Tarek might go very different and
- 39:27they'll we look. At it, I think I'd like to see
- 39:29that because I went obviously back in the day when we had one
- 39:33leagues and they were wrapped up by Fergie used to check in like
- 39:356 youngsters and it was mad and we often would lose games and
- 39:39the decision, but who cared? So I'm hoping I'd like I think
- 39:44we'll get to predictions, but I feel like we're probably going
- 39:46to lose whatever team we play, if that makes sense.
- 39:48Like even if we went with all senior players but like made
- 39:54changes like Xexicane comes in and there's no specific he's
- 39:57injured and you have Ahmad and junior and you have many new and
- 40:01legate. Like I still think because of
- 40:04Brighton have so much more to play for.
- 40:06We might still lose anyway. So it's like well raised.
- 40:08Well just checking some youth, not like the whole not half a
- 40:12team, but at least. Like start a couple maybe would
- 40:14be nice to see. And then maybe you do go.
- 40:16We've not seen Yoro for a while. Like maybe it could be heaven
- 40:19and Yoro starting. But yeah, I don't think, I don't
- 40:24think, I don't know if I don't think we'll see Pioneer.
- 40:26But other than that, yeah. Let's say I'm expecting to get
- 40:30the old off case and then go, yeah, but maybe obviously.
- 40:34But it is his first game as permanent manager, right?
- 40:36So maybe he actually does want to, you know?
- 40:37Yeah, that's true for that, yeah.
- 40:40Yes, this is the hardest one we've probably done, but go on
- 40:42then give me a predicted score and scorers if you want to try
- 40:45based on well. I did say I will never predict
- 40:50United lost, so I'm still not going to predict one even though
- 40:53I just said I think we'll lose 32A minute.
- 40:55So I'm going to go 32 United, right?
- 41:00And I'm goal scorers. Goal scorers, Kenya.
- 41:07Now I'm thinking that, like you said, that maybe McGuire will
- 41:09start. So again, McGuire slab header
- 41:12just to piss off too. Concha, this is what I can
- 41:15offer. That's Bruno.
- 41:17That's Bruno's assist. And then, yeah, I don't know.
- 41:21Shay Lacey, can you get on? My head this is so ridiculous in
- 41:27terms of prediction. So I have done 221 United and I
- 41:32did a McGuire with an FU goal. I did a Bruno and I've had and
- 41:37Bueno as well. I just think McGuire is going to
- 41:39score and maybe just take off all his clothes or whatever and
- 41:41just like run around like a madman.
- 41:43Just, you know, just against Tickle.
- 41:45Yeah, can just see it happening. But yeah, you've pinched me,
- 41:49pinched my thing again there, But OK, OK, so narrow wins.
- 41:54Like we say, it'll be modest. Interesting to see a better
- 41:56rotation. But still, as always, it's
- 41:58United. We should celebrate the end of a
- 42:01a decent season. You know, it's not good enough
- 42:03still for the club, but we'll have it anyway.
- 42:07For now it's a preview. It's the last one of the season.
- 42:11So as always, challenge Chaz. We've talked about loads so I've
- 42:14kept this quick fire linked to what we've been chatting about.
- 42:18Ask you one question before we get into chance, Chaz.
- 42:21All gone in. Who's getting relegated, Spurs
- 42:23or West Ham? Yeah, F Collins forgot about
- 42:28that. Great reminder.
- 42:29Yeah, like I say, with the title dance and European battles,
- 42:32which don't forget, I mean I called it a long time ago and
- 42:36said Spurs are going to get relegated.
- 42:38Spurs have got leads right. Sure, Yeah.
- 42:42And obviously in more recent, you know, the games, Spurs have
- 42:46looked a bit bare. West Ham got beat by Newcastle.
- 42:49So in theory, all the sense, Oh no, sorry, Spurs have got
- 42:53Everton. Spurs have got leads.
- 42:57Yeah, yeah, I still think Spurs are going to go down.
- 43:01Really. I just.
- 43:03I think they're going to stay pressed by goal difference, I
- 43:06think. I think they're because if
- 43:07spares lose and West Ham drawers spares that with goal
- 43:11difference, we've got a massively better goal
- 43:13difference. So that's why I think it's going
- 43:14to. Happen.
- 43:14Yeah, OK. OK.
- 43:17So yeah, yeah. I don't know.
- 43:21I just can imagine, you know, the classic last day, all
- 43:24kickoffs are the same. And then at their stadium, they
- 43:27hear about West Ham scoring and then it's just a load of like
- 43:30tension and pressure. It's a horrible place to go when
- 43:33you need a result. Is everything, because yeah, I
- 43:35guess it again, everything. I've nothing to play for unless
- 43:38they can sneak into the Conference league or something.
- 43:40I don't know actually. Yeah, Spurs are at home at this.
- 43:43So that's what that's what I kind of meant in terms of I can
- 43:46just imagine it being that stadium.
- 43:49We're full of home funds either being worse.
- 43:51I think Spurs would benefit from playing away because they just
- 43:54have like their car fans there cheering them on by home.
- 43:57I think you could get ugly. So I don't know why, but I just
- 44:00think Spurs going to go down. In theory, Everton could still
- 44:03sneak into the Conference League, yeah, up to like 8th or
- 44:089th, but so you have something to play for, like a reason to
- 44:12win. But yeah, Everton, a nice team
- 44:15to play when you need a result. We'll keep an eye on that.
- 44:19Good reminder, Chad. They almost forgot about that.
- 44:21You can change that. It could be.
- 44:23You can challenge me now. Yeah, go on, challenge Jazz.
- 44:26Like, say, just a few quick fire and linked to what I've been
- 44:29talking about #1 how many years since Arsenal last won the
- 44:33league? 2201 or none?
- 44:39Nailed it. Bruno's 20 assists record at the
- 44:43minute, it puts in level with which two players.
- 44:46Ornery and De Bruyne. Straight.
- 44:49In I'm one behind my land. Yeah, I think you asked this
- 44:53before and we had a little bit of a joke, but how many trophies
- 44:56did Pep win at City? Unfortunately, they're going to
- 44:59get taken away from him. Are a big asterisk spot next to
- 45:01them. Was it, I don't know if they
- 45:05kick, if it counts what you call it, community Shields or not, I
- 45:09think is it 25 or 22 or something?
- 45:13My my data, which as we know is always the answer whether it's
- 45:17right or not. Is 2020 OK?
- 45:20Yeah. But you are right, I don't know
- 45:22if actually charity Shields are covered in.
- 45:24I guess it's a trophy, right? Yeah.
- 45:27Yeah, but madly to me, like I say, that's so much to talk
- 45:30about today. It's just all happening at the
- 45:33end of the season. It's still a little bit to
- 45:34finish, yeah, this season as well, and then going into World
- 45:39Cup here as well. So stick with us.
- 45:41Obviously it will be back before the World Cup with a review of,
- 45:45I guess not just a match, but more importantly the last day of
- 45:48the season, how some of these stories are going to unfold,
- 45:52who's getting relegated, more updates on PET, all that kind of
- 45:55stuff. So, so stick with us, get in the
