- 0:06Speaker 2: to The Voice.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Come on.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Dig me now. One and only Steve Harvey. Got a
- 0:11Speaker 2: radio show. Got a radio show because God in the
- 0:14Speaker 2: blessing business. Got a radio show because God is in
- 0:17Speaker 2: the forgiving business. Got a radio show because God will
- 0:21Speaker 2: let you turn your life around business. Got a radio
- 0:24Speaker 2: show because God know better than you know. Yeah, Steve
- 0:28Speaker 2: Harvey got a radio show. Didn't see it coming, but
- 0:31Speaker 2: he did.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I'm going to share with you today a principle of success.
- 0:39Speaker 1: You know, it's important that we get our lives together.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I mean, it really, really is. You know, the hereafter
- 0:46Speaker 1: is exactly what it says is the hereafter. And hopefully
- 0:50Speaker 1: for the majority of us, it's quite a ways off.
- 0:55Speaker 1: So what about how you live in today? How about now?
- 0:59Speaker 1: You know, I often talk in the morning about your
- 1:03Speaker 1: relationship with God. That can never change. That is at
- 1:06Speaker 1: the forefront and the best thought process that I can
- 1:12Speaker 1: give you. And I know who I'm talking to on
- 1:14Speaker 1: the radio. I'm talking to a lot of people, man,
- 1:17Speaker 1: who are out there just not sure. And I'm talking
- 1:21Speaker 1: to a lot of people out there, man, that's trying
- 1:24Speaker 1: to pull it together. In other words, you know, I'm
- 1:27Speaker 1: talking to a lot of people like myself. There is
- 1:31Speaker 1: a principle of success that is out there that if
- 1:34Speaker 1: more people understood one of the bait, this is just
- 1:36Speaker 1: one of one of the basic principles of success, you
- 1:39Speaker 1: would have more success in your life. And that principle
- 1:43Speaker 1: is this. The more people you help become successful, the
- 1:48Speaker 1: more successful you become. Well, the more people you help
- 1:53Speaker 1: become successful, the more. Successful you become because you are
- 1:57Speaker 1: practicing helping you. And as you do unto others, then
- 2:02Speaker 1: it's done unto you. You know, you build relationships when
- 2:08Speaker 1: you do that. People forget in success there has to
- 2:12Speaker 1: be relationships. There is no one person in this world
- 2:15Speaker 1: who is just successful all on their own. You are
- 2:19Speaker 1: successful and successful people form relationships, right? And you've got
- 2:25Speaker 1: to really coddle these relationships. You've got to nurture these relationships.
- 2:31Speaker 1: They don't just happen. You don't just get cool with
- 2:34Speaker 1: people just because you cool. No, you've got to do
- 2:38Speaker 1: some cool things to these people and for these people,
- 2:41Speaker 1: for these people to be cool with you when you
- 2:43Speaker 1: need some cool. I don't know if I'm explaining that right,
- 2:46Speaker 1: but that's the best way I can tell it to you.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I'm just.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Regular, you know, I'm just, I'm just speak like that. This,
- 2:52Speaker 1: this is an important principle to put into your life.
- 2:56Speaker 1: The more people you help become successful, the more successful
- 3:00Speaker 1: you become. You can look, you have to say to people, Hey, look,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I've done that. This is what you got to do.
- 3:07Speaker 1: You got to take some time out to share. You
- 3:10Speaker 1: have to share information, experiences, thoughts. You got to take
- 3:15Speaker 1: a minute, man. To uplift somebody, give them some encouragement. Hey, man,
- 3:20Speaker 1: you can do it. Don't give up. You have no idea. You, you,
- 3:26Speaker 1: you right now, you have no idea how significant you
- 3:31Speaker 1: are to someone else. How your words of encouragement could
- 3:36Speaker 1: be the difference maker today. I'm talking about it's a
- 3:39Speaker 1: person looking at you that you don't even really know. No,
- 3:41Speaker 1: you don't really know them. And you see them struggling
- 3:44Speaker 1: with something. Just say, hey, you know what? I've been
- 3:46Speaker 1: watching you from afar. You're going to be all right, man.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I see some menu. Keep doing the right thing, man.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You're going to be all right. I had a meeting
- 3:55Speaker 1: with a young man for the first time. And this
- 3:58Speaker 1: young man came into my office. I never met him.
- 4:02Speaker 1: He has an Internet service. which anybody can teach me
- 4:06Speaker 1: something about the Internet because I know little to close
- 4:08Speaker 1: to nothing. He was 27 years old, and he was
- 4:14Speaker 1: amazingly bright at this. And I guess, you know, that
- 4:19Speaker 1: it's not that hard to impress me, but the fluid
- 4:24Speaker 1: speech pattern that he had about this very, very difficult subject,
- 4:28Speaker 1: he was tossing around the terms I had heard, but
- 4:31Speaker 1: he was actually putting them in sentences where it made
- 4:33Speaker 1: sense to me. It's very fluid, very, very sure of
- 4:37Speaker 1: himself when he was talking about this little thing. Young dude,
- 4:41Speaker 1: 27 years old. And when he got through the woman
- 4:45Speaker 1: that had introduced me to him, I was leaving my
- 4:47Speaker 1: office and she was going to escort him out. And
- 4:50Speaker 1: I turned around and I said, young man, I said, what, what,
- 4:54Speaker 1: what size pants are you? And I guessed it because
- 4:57Speaker 1: I've been dressing for long. I've been all them sizes
- 5:01Speaker 1: and I, I said, you bought a 30 waist? He said, yes, sir.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I said, what size shoe you wear? He said, nine
- 5:06Speaker 1: and a half. I said, what size shirt is that,
- 5:08Speaker 1: a medium? He said, I really like extra large. I said, well,
- 5:12Speaker 1: that's too big for you. You just want to look
- 5:14Speaker 1: lousy and baggy. And so I was talking to him,
- 5:18Speaker 1: and I said, man, I'm going to help you out.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I said, man, because let me tell you something. You're
- 5:23Speaker 1: a sharp young dude, man. You are razor sharp. I said,
- 5:27Speaker 1: you've really, really impressed me today. I said, and you
- 5:31Speaker 1: know what, young brother? I said, you're going to make
- 5:32Speaker 1: a lot of money one day, man. I said, but
- 5:35Speaker 1: I want you to get your image up. I want
- 5:38Speaker 1: you to look at how you dress because you're coming
- 5:40Speaker 1: into professional people's office and you're talking about doing something
- 5:44Speaker 1: for them and it takes money to make it happen.
- 5:47Speaker 1: I got to give you money to make this happen.
- 5:49Speaker 1: What you cannot afford to do is look like you
- 5:52Speaker 1: need every dime of this money. See, when you go
- 5:55Speaker 1: in there and you're talking about money with another person,
- 5:59Speaker 1: The person that's going to give you this money cannot,
- 6:01Speaker 1: it can't look like you need every dime of this money.
- 6:04Speaker 1: You know, so you got to start presenting yourself. And
- 6:07Speaker 1: that's all I just said to him. I just said, man,
- 6:09Speaker 1: but you know what? You're sharp. You're going to make
- 6:11Speaker 1: yourself some money. I'm going to help you out a
- 6:13Speaker 1: little bit. I walked out. I went on about my business.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Later on that afternoon, I had a meeting with the
- 6:18Speaker 1: woman that brought him in. And she said, Mr. Harvey,
- 6:21Speaker 1: you have no idea what you just did. He said
- 6:23Speaker 1: his eyes just teared up when you walked out. He said, wow, man,
- 6:27Speaker 1: that man don't even know me. And he just encouraged me.
- 6:32Speaker 1: He said, man, I always thought I might could make it.
- 6:34Speaker 1: But he said, I ain't never had nobody like him
- 6:37Speaker 1: tell me I could make it. And just hearing it
- 6:39Speaker 1: from him, man, that's all right. I'm going to get
- 6:43Speaker 1: my clothes together. But, you know, I've been homeless. And
- 6:47Speaker 1: then he started telling the woman that he had been homeless.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And so, you know, then she telling me that. Now
- 6:52Speaker 1: I'm fitting to cry because, you know, I've been in
- 6:54Speaker 1: that hole before. And I'm just sharing that story with
- 6:57Speaker 1: y'all just to say, You don't know who you're talking to,
- 7:02Speaker 1: but what does it hurt if you just extend your
- 7:05Speaker 1: hand to a person and give them a moment of encouragement? See,
- 7:09Speaker 1: this young brother right here, he could come back one
- 7:13Speaker 1: day and be a major benefit to me because he
- 7:16Speaker 1: has a skill set that I don't have. Oh, I
- 7:20Speaker 1: might be old Mr. Steve Harvey, but hey, guess what?
- 7:23Speaker 1: I don't know nothing about what this young cat knows.
- 7:26Speaker 1: And he went off and educated himself. And just a
- 7:28Speaker 1: word of encouragement from somebody like yourself can make all
- 7:33Speaker 1: the difference in another person's life. So remember, on your
- 7:38Speaker 1: way to the top, the more people that you help
- 7:42Speaker 1: become successful, the more successful you become. It's a requirement
- 7:47Speaker 1: of God that you do that. That ain't Steve Harvey talking.
- 7:50Speaker 1: If you read your Bible, somebody got a Bible verse
- 7:52Speaker 1: to back me up. Email it to me today if
- 7:54Speaker 1: you know what it is. I don't know, but y'all
- 7:56Speaker 1: do out there.
- 7:58Speaker 2: All right.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
