- 6:35we haven't had a bank job like this in six years. How's the
- 6:40gun? It's still unconscious. Doesn't look like you'll make it? Oh,
- 6:45Chief, Oh, Chief. I just had the witnesses look at the lineup.
- 6:50Didn't spin anybody. We haven't had a bank hold up in five years.
- 6:54In six years, No, here's how it stacks up, Chief.
- 6:59Five men went to the bank at eleven this morning as near as the bank
- 7:01until they got away with close to one hundred thousand. Ran for the street
- 7:05and this bank gun pulled a gun exchange shots with one of the hold up
- 7:09men, Julie L. Bilatti. Yeah, that's right, Billati and the
- 7:13gutter both in pretty much shape, unconscious and I like people live. Sergeant
- 7:16quins over with Bilotti in case he regains consciousness. The other forem up Bulotti
- 7:20on the sidewalk pilot or a Green Sadan. Witnesses say it was either a
- 7:25Chrysler or PLUMBERT couldn't get the license number code with one. The witnesses have
- 7:29identified two of the hold up men, Lam and Jack Holster there. We'd
- 7:32like to have those boys. They've never operated a hare chief. Well we
- 7:36know about him is what you've got from dinner. They've been on the circulation
- 7:39for about seven months, never pulled a job this big before, but that
- 7:43doesn't mean they couldn't. Originally from Oklahoma, a couple of brothers who started
- 7:46out both of them time skipped out on their parole a year ago. Well,
- 7:50this Bilatti is a local boy, we know him. I probably landed
- 7:54here in case the job. Then rounded up some local talent, and that's
- 7:57what we're hoping for him. They've got Billatti, but may die before we
- 8:00can tell us anything. The other three boys are local talent. Maybe we
- 8:03can trace that green Sitdan if it wasn't stolen. Even if it was,
- 8:07be easier running up some of our own local hoods and a wood the house
- 8:11set a bruns. We've set up the usual roadblocks, covered the airports,
- 8:13the bus stations and trains. He witnesses in the bank got a good look
- 8:16at all five of the men, and they say so. They identify the
- 8:20house at a brothers. Let's hope they can take the other two. And
- 8:22what about the sixth ma'am driving the car. Nobody got a good look at
- 8:26him. Just look, he's probably the one who owns the car. Jeep
- 8:33Bailey speaking, Yeah, okay, you better get down to the hospital.
- 8:39Let was climb. Doctor say, lad is regaining consciousness. Here comes Quine.
- 8:54Is he's still conscious? And no too late. Yeah he didn't even
- 9:00get a statement, just opened his eyes, took a look at me and
- 9:03died. It was a coffee man. Oh yeah, please, Well they
- 9:28didn't come up with one identification. I sent him home for no, no
- 9:35thanks. Let one identification. No, they were a little vague. They
- 9:43all got a good look at the host that are brothers, but the others
- 9:46were off near the door or by the side of the room. They identified
- 9:50be a Bobby's picture all right, they all got a good look at him
- 9:52while he was lying on the street. I'm keeping Belody's death out of the
- 9:56papers. I want the host that of boys to think he can still talk.
- 10:01Yeah, I got them in. You wanted them in the take contenant,
- 10:05Okay, I'll see him in the interrogation room. Stoolies. Yeah,
- 10:09I haven't been able to find out too much on Bulotti that maybe some of
- 10:13the stoolies might give us a lean. I'm sorry, I won't be able
- 10:18to finish your coffee. Man. I don't hope something comes out of this.
- 10:35I hope so. Jenny Cooky, heh Burt, have I can climb?
- 10:43How are you? He's just about the bank rubby this morning? Uh
- 10:45huh. I can't help you, Lieutenant. You know Julio Builatti ally of
- 10:50him. Don't know him. He was one of the men who stuck up
- 10:52the bank. He did a hundred thousand now here. He sure had a
- 10:56lot of noise putting a job like that. What do you know about Bulotti?
- 11:00And what have you heard? Got a record? Just a hood,
- 11:01that's all a hood? You know any of his friends? No, Lieutenant
- 11:07Bush nat you thank the NDA some know? How about the Hostetter brothers?

- 13:56I'm getting sick of this. We get a lead and we sit around for
- 13:58two days. I'm getting sick of it too. But we can't find Merit
- 14:03or the host stead of brothers, or an identification on the other two hold
- 14:05up men, or the green sedan. Yeah, FBI has got every available
- 14:11man on it. We've got every precinct in the city working on it.
- 14:15Sooner or later we're going to turn up with something. Yeah, alsis and
- 14:18I look at we don't pick up one of the house stead of boys,
- 14:22and we might find Merit and he lead us to the rest. We don't
- 14:24find him. We may get a lead on the green sedan, and so
- 14:28few green Christless sedans in this city. Maybe you'll have a better suggestion.
- 14:33No, but I have an alternate. Make some coffee, and I'm sick

- 21:47You're a stranger in this town, aren't here? I told you?
- 21:48Yeah, that car was identified as a hold up car. You're in trouble,
- 21:51Merit. Why I didn't do anything? Give me a lawyer. We've
- 21:53got sworn statements from a dozen witnesses in Julati. You won't stand a chance

- 27:55the line up starring Bill Johnstone is, Lieutenant Ben Guthrie and Wally Mayor Sergeant
- 27:59Matt Grebb, written by Blake Edwards with music by Eddie Dunsteader. Featured in

- 29:47this is CBS where you find songs for sale every Friday night at the Columbia
- 29:51Broadcasting System. Welcome back, Well. This is an example of a kind
- 30:11of typical pre Miranda case because because in addition to the Maranda warnings, when
- 30:22they were questioning the suspect with the car, the moment that he said I
- 30:29want a lawyer, that would have forced an end to the questioning the way
- 30:33that the Miranda Law has developed, And there are a couple of episodes like
- 30:41that I've heard. I remember one episode of Dragnet where Friday and Romero tried
- 30:51repeatedly to get a suspect downtown for questioning without his lawyer fighting out. Of
- 30:59course, the Marina warning situation makes that whole tactic kind of pointless. Speaking
- 31:07of Dragnet, over at Great Detectives dot net, we conclude our countdown with
