- 1:56Speaker 1: whether you're writing with a short track veteran, taking a
- 2:00Speaker 1: shot on somebody further down the board, or just trying
- 2:02Speaker 1: to pick who's gonna be there when things get interesting late,
- 2:04Speaker 1: Fandels got plenty of ways to ride with the boys
- 2:07Speaker 1: at Richmond. Just head tofandel dot com slash busting, place

- 2:58Speaker 1: from Racing with the Boys. Make sure you subscribe. Let's go,
- 3:02Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to another episode of Racing with
- 3:04Speaker 1: the Boys. We have two good buddies now teammates. Good
- 3:08Speaker 1: on the podcast. Please give it up for Ryan Priest.
- 3:10Speaker 1: And I'm just gonna say because this is how I
- 3:12Speaker 1: want to say it, Chris, Bobby Bouchet.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Fell us, how you feel about being Racing with the
- 3:19Speaker 2: Boys right now?
- 3:19Speaker 3: It's pretty stoked. Excited to get into this.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Chris too.
- 3:22Speaker 1: And by the way, congratulations just signed with RFK last
- 3:25Speaker 1: last month. Yeah, yeah, big contract absolutely guaranteed money.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Getting ready to I mean there's always a little bit,
- 3:31Speaker 3: yeah your own PJ. I can't say that one.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Not quite a full What do the contracts look like?
- 3:38Speaker 2: We guarantee? Is there a lot of guarantee? Are we
- 3:40Speaker 2: fighting for more guarantees or is it full guaranteed.
- 3:42Speaker 3: That's a little bit all over the place, but yeah,
- 3:45Speaker 3: I'd say there's always mixes of guaranteed, and then there's
- 3:51Speaker 3: uh performance clauses and I would bet on about everybody stuff,
- 3:54Speaker 3: which is you know, just a up percentage of winnings
- 3:57Speaker 3: uh and that probably varies based on if it's uh
- 4:02Speaker 3: P one or if it's thirtieth on the day, whatever
- 4:05Speaker 3: the race event goes it, it'll lose percentage as you
- 4:09Speaker 3: go down typically.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Okay, all right, all right.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I like that you guys being boys, Chris, I know,
- 4:15Speaker 1: when I'm going over the notes and everything else, you
- 4:16Speaker 1: seem like more of the quiet assassin before you get
- 4:20Speaker 1: on the team with your boy Ryan. It sounds like
- 4:22Speaker 1: Ryan brings out the personality and you because you guys
- 4:24Speaker 1: have this little prank war going on with each other
- 4:28Speaker 1: to where fans can now see the boy, Chris operate
- 4:30Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's uh, that's fair. Ryan's, among other things,
- 4:35Speaker 3: been called in enabler and fair enough. Yeah, that's probably
- 4:38Speaker 3: the best PG version of it. But but yeah it's
- 4:41Speaker 3: kind of great as some uh some eye catching moments
- 4:45Speaker 3: and uh and some that we we probably shouldn't talk about,
- 4:48Speaker 3: but uh but yeah, yeah, he.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Will know that a whole lot.
- 4:52Speaker 4: But like, I'm from New England, right, I'm from Connecticut.
- 4:55Speaker 4: He's from Texas. He's very laid back, and I think,
- 4:58Speaker 4: as you guys know, people from New England are like
- 5:00Speaker 4: I strung.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Yeah, on the go. The Patriots are good.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Yeah exactly, Yeah, very much fall.
- 5:06Speaker 2: From Texas unless you want to be like, unless you
- 5:08Speaker 2: just say, like Texas is smaller, not that great, Like
- 5:10Speaker 2: they're gonna keep to themselves a little bit more.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Yeah, that's exactly how it is. So when so Chris
- 5:15Speaker 4: was actually the one who started the whole thing with
- 5:17Speaker 4: prank wars. I get done.
- 5:19Speaker 2: That's a crazy journ of events, Chris.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Yep, exactly. You wouldn't expect that. Well, I get done
- 5:22Speaker 4: with the race at Kansas and there's a door missing
- 5:25Speaker 4: off my Bronco, my rental car and I drive to
- 5:28Speaker 4: the airport without a door because he felt the need
- 5:30Speaker 4: to take it off and in the.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Back of mine. Yeah, but it should be noted it's
- 5:35Speaker 3: like a thirty five minute drive to the airport in Kansas,
- 5:38Speaker 3: So it is a little bit of a hike.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I mean, and in the scheme of pranks, it's like
- 5:43Speaker 1: good prank, that's exactly, but the one that could right,
- 5:47Speaker 1: all right for thirty five minute drive to the airport, Like, yeah,
- 5:51Speaker 1: that's funny, but what the fuck?
- 5:53Speaker 2: See my break goes up to. I think that's good
- 5:55Speaker 2: old fashioned fun. Like you, the point of a prank
- 5:57Speaker 2: is inconvenience together, not harm or destroy. But just take
- 6:01Speaker 2: a car, take a car door, broncos there they're used to.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Just you can pop them things off, no problem. I
- 6:06Speaker 2: think that's a good, clean fun What year is this
- 6:08Speaker 2: When we're in Kansas, the race takes place and we
- 6:11Speaker 2: do the first prank.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Yeah, so that was last year, last year.
- 6:14Speaker 2: This is a this is a recent beef.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Yeah, this was last year in October or September, and
- 6:19Speaker 4: I had quite the long day to remember, you said
- 6:22Speaker 4: during that race, you saw I was having a tough day,
- 6:24Speaker 4: and you were thinking, man, that's gonna suck.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yeah, oh you did pre race.
- 6:28Speaker 3: I did it pre race. Yeah, while the garage opened.
- 6:30Speaker 3: And uh and Ryan's pretty famous for going everywhere early
- 6:33Speaker 3: on race day. So I found his rental. Uh, he
- 6:36Speaker 3: parked it a little too close to the fence, so
- 6:39Speaker 3: I couldn't get both doors off, but I did get
- 6:42Speaker 3: one and uh and I did think to myself during
- 6:45Speaker 3: the process. It only took about ten minutes to get
- 6:47Speaker 3: the door off, right, it was pretty simple. And I
- 6:49Speaker 3: thought to myself, I was like, man, if he has
- 6:51Speaker 3: a bad day, this is not gonna be very funny.
- 6:54Speaker 3: And uh and somewhere in that race, you had a
- 6:57Speaker 3: bad day, and it did dawn on me as I
- 7:00Speaker 3: should have been focusing on other things. I was like, uh, oh,
- 7:03Speaker 3: that's no longer as comical as I thought it was.
- 7:06Speaker 4: So it was, it was pretty funny.
- 7:08Speaker 3: It still it gets worse. So your wife was very,
- 7:13Speaker 3: very pregnant at the time, and uh, and it did
- 7:17Speaker 3: also click. I was like, man, what if he needs
- 7:19Speaker 3: to be on the phone on the way the airport,
- 7:20Speaker 3: He's gonna be able to hear a thing right, air
- 7:22Speaker 3: just swirling in there.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Yeah. They didn't even have a clue that we took
- 7:29Speaker 4: the door off, because when we got to the airport
- 7:31Speaker 4: you did put it back on. But uh, yeah, it's
- 7:34Speaker 4: just kind of started this whole thing ever since.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Then.
- 7:37Speaker 4: I waited until the last race of the season, and
- 7:39Speaker 4: what I did is at Phoenix Nice we uh we
- 7:43Speaker 4: had practiced that day. Well, he was in early at
- 7:46Speaker 4: a meeting and all these other other things he was doing.
- 7:49Speaker 4: So I went, I saran wrapped his car shut, I
- 7:52Speaker 4: had it towed so we didn't have a car at
- 7:54Speaker 4: the racetrack. I had it toad directly to the hotel,
- 7:57Speaker 4: wrapped it in Christmas lights, and then I zipped up
- 8:00Speaker 4: the drive shaft. Have you ever had somebody put zip
- 8:02Speaker 4: ties on the drive shaft.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, I don't even know who the drive
- 8:04Speaker 2: shaft is. That's not where you got me. I'm over here,
- 8:07Speaker 2: a smile like drive sheft got it, and I'm thinking
- 8:10Speaker 2: with the drive shaft. So you zip tie the drive shaft,
- 8:13Speaker 2: you sarran rafted, you put Christmas lights on it, You
- 8:15Speaker 2: got a toad. So we could just go ahead and
- 8:17Speaker 2: say that's a couple of steps above take a the
- 8:19Speaker 2: door off.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I took it to the extreme.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Good so retaliation though, yeah. So remember when I I
- 8:24Speaker 1: put the whip cream pie in Ben Jones's face yes birthday,
- 8:28Speaker 1: because he would go around and get everybody. But the
- 8:29Speaker 1: boys got me going like, hey, you should get Ben.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And then BEng goes to a wild extreme during meetings
- 8:36Speaker 1: and puts like a stink bomb.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Well, some of you guys, we were sitting out here
- 8:40Speaker 2: before the show, and I was like, we had a
- 8:41Speaker 2: guy who would take pranks to a new level. He
- 8:43Speaker 2: had a fart a fartd can that would like you
- 8:46Speaker 2: put a smell on somebody that came from like a skunk,
- 8:48Speaker 2: and he would just go and do it to random
- 8:50Speaker 2: people and the rest of the day they stunk and
- 8:52Speaker 2: their clothes were roomed. He was like, that's good fun
- 8:54Speaker 2: for Ben Jones, It's good fun for Ben jaft for Ben.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Because then there's another point too. Ben. I was like,
- 8:58Speaker 1: I was thinking about going to harm.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Waffleh Yeah, Waffles is his English bulldog, so he was
- 9:05Speaker 2: an object.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Well, you know, I won't say that. I was like, bro,
- 9:08Speaker 1: that's fucking crazy. I just put you whipped cream pie
- 9:11Speaker 1: everybody in the face. I just got you.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Yeah, And did you do anything after that?
- 9:16Speaker 1: No?
- 9:17Speaker 2: So Ben kind of he probably you've been probably did
- 9:20Speaker 2: to you what you were hoping. You were hoping to
- 9:22Speaker 2: just to end it and have it be done forever.
- 9:24Speaker 2: But Chris, you said, oh no, that's not how this
- 9:26Speaker 2: game is going to go.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Felt elevated.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Okay, so we wait. So September happens. All right, we
- 9:31Speaker 2: get a door, door taken off. I'm just trying to
- 9:33Speaker 2: fall a bounce to the ball. We'll get to the
- 9:34Speaker 2: end of the year at p I R where what
- 9:37Speaker 2: what time is this? That's November, November November of twenty five.
- 9:41Speaker 2: So we waited a few months. The dust is settled.
- 9:43Speaker 2: People are thinking, oh, this little interaction is done. Now
- 9:47Speaker 2: this happens. Where in your brain? What are you thinking?
- 9:49Speaker 2: You're from Texas. You'll mess with Texas, especially your car.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I had, uh had a suspicious feeling that uh, it
- 9:58Speaker 3: was probably coming, and so I did. Happened to park
- 10:01Speaker 3: next to a one identical rental cars with the hopes
- 10:05Speaker 3: that he would get the wrong one. That didn't quite work.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I also cranked the wheel all the way in a
- 10:10Speaker 3: very narrow lot to make it hard to be able
- 10:13Speaker 3: to get it out, and they drug it out. I
- 10:16Speaker 3: can see the drag marks in the gravel where where
- 10:19Speaker 3: they got it out of there? It It should also
- 10:21Speaker 3: be noted that we were on a tight time frame
- 10:26Speaker 3: to meet our new team president. For the first dinner,
- 10:31Speaker 3: we had a car service at the hotel that I
- 10:35Speaker 3: no longer could get to because I was missing a car,
- 10:39Speaker 3: and uh, I was a little weight to our inaugural
- 10:43Speaker 3: team meeting.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Our first time meeting the president of our company.
- 10:47Speaker 1: So yeah, that was maybe a little anger.
- 10:50Speaker 3: It felt elevated.
- 10:52Speaker 2: It elevated to a whole new level. What are you
- 10:54Speaker 2: telling the president, the new president? Are you sitting there like, hey, pranks?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Am I right?
- 10:59Speaker 2: He's over to the welcome to the crew.
- 11:01Speaker 3: He's getting pretty good laughs out of all of this.
- 11:02Speaker 3: So I got a bunch of well done text messages
- 11:06Speaker 3: from last weekend before it ever really hit the innerwebs.
- 11:09Speaker 2: So nice.
- 11:10Speaker 3: I think we're in a good spot now.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Is that the last prink that's taking place since these
- 11:14Speaker 2: first two pranks?
- 11:15Speaker 4: Well, he was taken really long, and I was like, man,
- 11:18Speaker 4: I got this great idea. So when we went to
- 11:20Speaker 4: Atlanta or Eco Park Speedway, I bought four billboards to
- 11:24Speaker 4: put all over Atlanta come see Chris Busher race and
- 11:28Speaker 4: visit prosper Texas, which is where he's from, and we
- 11:31Speaker 4: kind of made him look like another billboard out there
- 11:34Speaker 4: that advertises for, you know, a gas station, so we
- 11:39Speaker 4: took that as well as minute Rice. We shot a
- 11:43Speaker 4: social media video that has Chris in like this red wig,
- 11:47Speaker 4: so I put his face with the red wig on it.
- 11:49Speaker 4: So it was on I seventy five all over Atlanta.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Wasn't away, Georgia, wasn't a wig?
- 11:53Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 11:56Speaker 1: And what did you, Chris?
- 11:57Speaker 2: What'd you find out about this?
- 11:59Speaker 3: As we were being ready to head to Atlanta. I
- 12:03Speaker 3: Ryan's really bad about using AI for uh, you know,
- 12:07Speaker 3: small photoshopped moments and uh, and I've seen the billboards
- 12:13Speaker 3: from that and you could tell that they were photoshopped
- 12:18Speaker 3: in order to get the I guess the the preliminary
- 12:21Speaker 3: done right, and uh, it must have just been what
- 12:24Speaker 3: was used for the actual thing. So I'm sitting here like, oh,
- 12:26Speaker 3: it's fake, like you used AI. I know this is fake.
- 12:29Speaker 3: It's it's all over my my Twitter feed, I guess,
- 12:31Speaker 3: or I don't know where you post stuff, but so
- 12:37Speaker 3: it was everywhere. Yeah, my Space, it's right below my
- 12:41Speaker 3: playlist and it it don't like there's no way it's fake,
- 12:45Speaker 3: like you're not gonna spend that kind of money. I
- 12:47Speaker 3: was like, I didn't feel like I've done anything to
- 12:49Speaker 3: deserve this yet and uh and sure enough, we had
- 12:53Speaker 3: people start commenting like, hey, I just seen it. I
- 12:56Speaker 3: took a picture and uh and it was one of
- 12:58Speaker 3: those electronic billboards, so it even a picture looks kind
- 13:01Speaker 3: of fake. I was like, oh, he's he's got his
- 13:04Speaker 3: friends sending tweets right now that are saying they see it,
- 13:08Speaker 3: and yeah, it looks fake. It looks fake.
- 13:12Speaker 2: And uh and it does kind of look fake.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Somebody pointed out, like, there's no leaves on the trees, right,
- 13:17Speaker 3: there's no leaves And this was two weeks ago. Yep,
- 13:21Speaker 3: and it didn't make sense.
- 13:23Speaker 4: And well that's because it was a superimposed image for
- 13:26Speaker 4: when I gave him the approval. Yeah, and then all
- 13:29Speaker 4: the fans actually driving up and down seventy five, we're
- 13:32Speaker 4: taking pictures of.
- 13:33Speaker 3: It and copied it one percent and it actually exists.
- 13:37Speaker 3: My crew chief drove down to Atlanta with his daughter
- 13:40Speaker 3: and uh, he sent me a message as we were
- 13:42Speaker 3: getting on the plane to head down. He uh, he said, hey,
- 13:46Speaker 3: just want to point out it's real. Oh, got it
- 13:50Speaker 3: all right, Well, that's perfect, that's that's that's clean.
- 13:54Speaker 1: That could have been the retaliation one versus you get
- 13:57Speaker 1: his truck towed, wrap locked.
- 13:59Speaker 2: He kind of feel the first one.
- 14:01Speaker 1: He's late president.
- 14:05Speaker 3: The day before all of this goes down, I had
- 14:07Speaker 3: already taken possession of his his new Ford lowner and
- 14:11Speaker 3: uh and Ford loan darted.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 4: So as drivers, Uh, depending on the OEM you're with,
- 14:17Speaker 4: you get a loaner vehicle for a year.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Okay, sot perk of the gym.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Apparently a fly.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Oh very nice.
- 14:24Speaker 3: I didn't see that on the selection, did you.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 14:27Speaker 2: But and then this is very crazy. This is what
- 14:29Speaker 2: you did.
- 14:30Speaker 3: This happened before the billboard. I didn't know about the
- 14:32Speaker 3: billboard yet. He did not know about this. And this, Uh,
- 14:36Speaker 3: this happened Thursday before at Wana. Uh, we did this
- 14:40Speaker 3: in the shop at RFK while you were in the
- 14:42Speaker 3: gym on the working out.
- 14:43Speaker 4: They closed the door that's usually open and they had
- 14:46Speaker 4: it closed. And I'm just thinking they're doing maintenance on
- 14:48Speaker 4: our pit stop car. And apparently they were wrapping that truck.
- 14:52Speaker 4: So all I had to do was walk thirty feet
- 14:54Speaker 4: and I would have saw it.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a bang bang situation. And that's where
- 14:59Speaker 2: we stand now, is where we're at. It's my turn again,
- 15:01Speaker 2: it's your turn again.
- 15:02Speaker 3: See, I just don't feel it any good.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Ideas we get.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Listen, we can have a brainstorm on this podcast if
- 15:07Speaker 2: you like to How far do we want to go?
- 15:09Speaker 2: It's pretty much pretty.
- 15:10Speaker 4: You saw how far I'm willing to take it.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I think like your reaction here, you're like, oh, ship,
- 15:16Speaker 1: we're both getting each other right now. Yeah, Like it's
- 15:18Speaker 1: in the works. So this could be one where you
- 15:20Speaker 1: guys squash it. Hey, but somebody you want us to
- 15:24Speaker 1: make a move.
- 15:24Speaker 4: That's going to wait a little while, you know, get through,
- 15:27Speaker 4: get through trying to make the chase, and and maybe
- 15:30Speaker 4: get into September October. But yeah, I'm down for for
- 15:33Speaker 4: some ideas.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll definitely we'll get you. If we don't come
- 15:36Speaker 2: with anything on this show, we'll definitely get your number
- 15:38Speaker 2: and we can help with any type of prank that
- 15:40Speaker 2: you might need.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Could could this ever come out? Could this competitive nature
- 15:44Speaker 1: ever come out? On the track to where you guys
- 15:45Speaker 1: may be in the lead and one bumps the other.
- 15:48Speaker 2: That that'd be a good racing one and two. The
- 15:51Speaker 2: one to just cratches the other b This is one.
- 15:54Speaker 2: This is my one.
- 15:55Speaker 3: That is that is uh teammate racing one O one.
- 15:59Speaker 3: If if one or two of you have a shot
- 16:02Speaker 3: to win, you better not wet the third place car
- 16:04Speaker 3: win Like you can push and shove all you want,
- 16:06Speaker 3: But if you as somebody else win when one of
- 16:08Speaker 3: you should have, that's where it becomes a problem and
- 16:11Speaker 3: no longer a prank.
- 16:12Speaker 2: So that's happen a little bit.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And then that happened with somebody we had on and
- 16:16Speaker 1: where we were talking about the race? Maybe it was
- 16:18Speaker 1: was it with Denny Hamlin? Who am I thinking of?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Who it was?
- 16:23Speaker 4: Denny and Bubba?
- 16:24Speaker 3: Right?
- 16:25Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yeah? And then who messed up? Was it Bubba that
- 16:28Speaker 1: messed it up? Or Denny who was gonna win? Win?
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 16:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you guys know, you guys don't know.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I think it was Denny's an owner? Is that twenty
- 16:41Speaker 2: three eleven?
- 16:42Speaker 1: Right? Yeah?
- 16:44Speaker 2: He was going He wrecked Bubba is my assumption, because
- 16:47Speaker 2: I mean is definitely rearing its ugly head, right, you.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Don't remember, I know he's coming. It's I feel like
- 16:53Speaker 1: they know and they don't want to tell us. And
- 16:54Speaker 1: now we're just sitting here playing the guests.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Yeah, now we're just we're kind of we're on the island,
- 16:57Speaker 2: which is good because they've been on the island the
- 16:59Speaker 2: whole time. Yeah, it's good for us to fight through this.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Right, So whoever messed up the message to them? Teammate
- 17:03Speaker 1: one on one, Yeah, you're about to win. You don't
- 17:05Speaker 1: mess with the other car.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Is this the race right here? Oh?
- 17:11Speaker 1: It was Denny and Bubba up front, and then Danny
- 17:13Speaker 1: kind of ran Bubba high and then Chase.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Like this, Sonny's eleven. Yes, Bubba's twenty three. So right there,
- 17:25Speaker 2: you got you got your three win there. That's bullshit.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that that would not go over the phone.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I'm taking a seventy five thousand dollars. Fine, I'm gonna
- 17:33Speaker 2: go rear rear.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Naked mit t Man, Yeah, go bag Mitch, Okay, Ryan
- 17:40Speaker 1: say say you say you're twenty three, Chris, you're eleven.
- 17:43Speaker 1: What should be happening here? Teammate one on one? You're
- 17:46Speaker 1: breaking it down?
- 17:47Speaker 4: Well, you're racing, right, you're racing racing. See what happens
- 17:51Speaker 4: right here is when when Bubba gets close to his door,
- 17:54Speaker 4: it just puts a lot of air on the rear
- 17:56Speaker 4: spoiler and it makes the eleven tight. So I don't
- 17:58Speaker 4: think Denny meant to drive up the track, but it happened,
- 18:02Speaker 4: and it really was just racing.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Then they allowed the three to win.
- 18:06Speaker 4: That's just racing.
- 18:09Speaker 1: This just post race. You guys are playing this out conversationally.
- 18:14Speaker 3: This one isn't the worst offender, right, It's not like
- 18:16Speaker 3: you blatantly dumped somebody that was hard raising and it
- 18:19Speaker 3: didn't work out and it was close.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Right.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Can I just tell you guys how I feel about
- 18:23Speaker 2: that answer?
- 18:24Speaker 4: We'd love to hear it.
- 18:25Speaker 2: And I hated it. Here's what Sorry, we before this
- 18:28Speaker 2: video came on and Will and I got put in
- 18:29Speaker 2: a blender for a couple of moments. You guys said,
- 18:32Speaker 2: if your teammates and you're racing one and two, your
- 18:34Speaker 2: only objective is to make sure that three doesn't win.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Now we're watching a video of this exact situation happening,
- 18:41Speaker 2: and you're like, well, it's hard racing, Yare you guys
- 18:45Speaker 2: afraid of didn't handler?
- 18:46Speaker 3: It's a it's a.
- 18:49Speaker 2: They might be like kind of scared? Is MJ in
- 18:53Speaker 2: their head?
- 18:53Speaker 1: Right? Denny Hamlin like Voldemort on the track?
- 18:56Speaker 2: Oh my? Yeah? So basically, you guys have the floor.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Other Harry Potter reference like that.
- 19:03Speaker 2: So we're racing one and two. Yeah, we get up
- 19:06Speaker 2: close the door. He said something about a spoiler. You
- 19:08Speaker 2: said wind is getting in for Texas, walks for Texas.
- 19:11Speaker 2: You have the floor.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I mean, at the end of the day, that's hard.
- 19:17Speaker 3: There was nothing into it was. It was trying to
- 19:19Speaker 3: figure how to win it and it just got in
- 19:20Speaker 3: a bad situation. But I promise it will be a
- 19:24Speaker 3: bad Monday. Actually it'll be a bad.
- 19:26Speaker 4: So there's actually a piece of our contracts that says,
- 19:28Speaker 4: do not wreck your teammate unless it's for the win
- 19:30Speaker 4: on the last lap. I'm pretty sure yours says that
- 19:32Speaker 4: as well, or maybe it's not in the contract, but
- 19:34Speaker 4: it was like a little little piece of of things
- 19:36Speaker 4: that we.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Were giving fortune cookie or something like that.
- 19:40Speaker 4: These are your obligations, These are what we expect of you.
- 19:43Speaker 2: All right. This is yeah, that's that's inside the team
- 19:45Speaker 2: meeting room. Hey, guys, this is how we expect to
- 19:48Speaker 2: win this race.
- 19:48Speaker 3: If you're gonna wreck your teammate, you better win.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Got you is making that move he needs to win?
- 19:54Speaker 3: Would he would have come out of there and been like,
- 19:57Speaker 3: that's just that's that's hard race, and that's fine.
- 19:59Speaker 2: So let me says he lost.
- 20:00Speaker 1: It's like Denny, he kind of fucked up right there.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure he wasn't happy either. No, No, I
- 20:05Speaker 3: think there's a.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Since the boys will seem a little bit nervous about.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I think we got a little nervous right now. Then
- 20:13Speaker 2: he should have made the who was in the wrong here?
- 20:15Speaker 2: Who could have done better? Who could have made the
- 20:17Speaker 2: situation better? To where twenty three eleven wins this race?
- 20:21Speaker 1: Sounds like eleven, Well, sounds.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Like the eleven could have went twenty three eleven win
- 20:26Speaker 3: the race if he wanted to. But he's not. He's
- 20:30Speaker 3: not trying to win for twenty three eleven in that moment.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Man, I love the discomfort doing good. I love where
- 20:39Speaker 2: we're at. So this guy is right now, This happened
- 20:42Speaker 2: to you, guys, This happens to you two. You guys
- 20:46Speaker 2: are all good. Hey, it's just racing, all no worse.
- 20:49Speaker 4: See, here's the here's the thing about this. It's the
- 20:52Speaker 4: final Lapp final corner. The eleven is trying to get
- 20:55Speaker 4: under the twenty three and the twenty three is trying
- 20:57Speaker 4: to side draft him back, and it's just that the
- 21:00Speaker 4: outcome of it, right, It's completely different if somebody goes
- 21:03Speaker 4: in there and just absolutely obliterates, like intentionally rerex the
- 21:08Speaker 4: guy right and says, man, I'm sorry afterwards. That's that.
- 21:12Speaker 4: I think that's the frustrating thing is when you know
- 21:15Speaker 4: what the intentions are and then it falls up. Man,
- 21:19Speaker 4: I'm sorry. That's a frustrate.
- 21:21Speaker 2: How easy is it for you to tell as a
- 21:23Speaker 2: racer when things are intentional versus an accident?
- 21:33Speaker 3: Texas, you're trying to go the quiet one to get
- 21:36Speaker 3: the answer. You're the outspoken one. While are you out here?
- 21:39Speaker 4: That's it, man, We already know.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I'll tell you why. Steve's got the headphones on out there.
- 21:49Speaker 2: You know there, he's the ride back.
- 21:55Speaker 4: It's a long drive back to.
- 21:58Speaker 1: You.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Ain't lying.
- 21:59Speaker 3: We take a really big game when there's not a microphone, right.
- 22:02Speaker 2: But also no one watches the show, so it's all good.
- 22:05Speaker 1: We got out.
- 22:07Speaker 2: There were a couple out there, but they're say something
- 22:09Speaker 2: everybody who's watching this, keep it to yourself. Boom, you
- 22:11Speaker 2: have the floor perfects. How do we feel about that?
- 22:14Speaker 3: About that one? There was room the outside the entire time,
- 22:19Speaker 3: so to me it was a move to try and
- 22:23Speaker 3: grab his quarter panel, and there's consequences to putting somebody
- 22:26Speaker 3: in a really bad arrow spot.
- 22:28Speaker 2: At the end of the day, here's a really well
- 22:29Speaker 2: media trained If I think.
- 22:33Speaker 1: That was at a media trained answer, that's just inside
- 22:35Speaker 1: ball that Yeah we got.
- 22:37Speaker 2: There, Yeah we got we we got there eventually. God,
- 22:41Speaker 2: what was the question I was asking before? And he
- 22:43Speaker 2: brought it over at PASTPA Texas.
- 22:45Speaker 3: You just asked the same question six times?
- 22:47Speaker 1: Are answer every time? How ready are you guys week
- 22:51Speaker 1: in and week out to have Kiselowski's back again? Like
- 22:55Speaker 1: you want another big one to go down? Like, who's
- 22:57Speaker 1: the next Jeff Gordon out there? You guys always chomping
- 23:00Speaker 1: at the bit, Hay Brad, just let us know, man.
- 23:03Speaker 4: Yeah, eye contact, you're just saying to me you're ready
- 23:05Speaker 4: for ready, you're ready for that too much? Yeah, I
- 23:08Speaker 4: know I have him for sure, honestly, So ask that
- 23:13Speaker 4: question again because it went in one ear and out
- 23:16Speaker 4: the other for a.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Second weekend and weekt Like I'm sure you guys bust
- 23:19Speaker 1: balls laugh about Kazlowski and him and Gordon got in
- 23:21Speaker 1: the pit. Crew's got in a massive fight back in
- 23:24Speaker 1: what was that twenty fourteen, twenty and fourteen, where now
- 23:27Speaker 1: he's your teammate also he owns he's like the owner
- 23:30Speaker 1: to the boss. Yeah, he's your boss too. But chomping
- 23:33Speaker 1: at the bet, Hay, Brad, just let us know if
- 23:34Speaker 1: anybody looks at you little sideways, we can get another
- 23:36Speaker 1: one going. Oh, absolutely, you can relive twenty fourteen all
- 23:39Speaker 1: over again.
- 23:40Speaker 4: I don't think Actually, what was it last year? He
- 23:42Speaker 4: ran after a host bar on Pitt Road at walking
- 23:45Speaker 4: the left king right, he ran after him honestly for us, yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 4: one hundred percent. We got Brad's back. He's got our back.
- 23:54Speaker 4: But it's kind of like the team work aspect of
- 23:58Speaker 4: it is we're like step brother and he's like the dad,
- 24:02Speaker 4: you know what I mean, Like he's the one that
- 24:04Speaker 4: has to rain us in every here and every now
- 24:06Speaker 4: and again.
- 24:07Speaker 1: So get the young bucks back in a little bit
- 24:10Speaker 1: for you guys are goofing around a little too much.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Yeah, he'll call.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Us out on it. Really Yeah, I think, uh, it
- 24:16Speaker 3: costs a lot of money to uh to throw a
- 24:18Speaker 3: punch nowadays. So uh, we have we know.
- 24:21Speaker 1: We we have the we have the clear go ahead,
- 24:25Speaker 1: go ahead. Yeah, he's like you know Steve. This is
- 24:27Speaker 1: Steve as he's out there listening.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Steve Mile quoted on on Racing with the Boys that
- 24:31Speaker 2: if two drivers get into it, we can let that slot.
- 24:34Speaker 2: The issue is when the pit crews get into it,
- 24:36Speaker 2: when the big boys get into it. So maybe I
- 24:40Speaker 2: would take that clip. I would run with it next
- 24:42Speaker 2: time we have an interaction swing and when you go
- 24:45Speaker 2: to a peel it in front of the board, it's like,
- 24:47Speaker 2: just play the Racing with the Boys clip and he
- 24:48Speaker 2: has a real role. That's it? Am I wrong there
- 24:51Speaker 2: at all? Something? Step up and do it right. Someone's
- 24:54Speaker 2: gonna step up and be the guy to be like
- 24:55Speaker 2: he said, it's okay to do that.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I'm not gonna find out.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I don't wan.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Who would be the guy in NASCAR to be like,
- 25:04Speaker 2: see that clip and be like, all right, bet.
- 25:07Speaker 4: Uh, who is your head? I've already paid my fine.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Who's a feisty one?
- 25:13Speaker 1: Man?
- 25:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 25:14Speaker 4: There's there's there's quite a few quiet ones that you
- 25:16Speaker 4: can just tell her scrappy. Yeah, I'm trying to think.
- 25:22Speaker 3: I thought I thought you was going to throw a
- 25:25Speaker 3: punch in San Diego. I thought it was going to.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Throw a punch and hit the gritty and and it just.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Hit the.
- 25:34Speaker 4: I don't know what that means.
- 25:35Speaker 3: He doesn't, but uh, yeah, I really thought that was
- 25:42Speaker 3: gonna go down. And then uh and he made the
- 25:44Speaker 3: same comment that that I just made, that it would
- 25:46Speaker 3: be expensive and detrimental in that moment to uh to
- 25:51Speaker 3: throw a haymaker. So it's got to be the right situation.
- 25:55Speaker 3: I guess you gotta feel like you were wrong for
- 25:56Speaker 3: the right thing. I'd say, uh, some something happen means
- 26:00Speaker 3: for fifteenth you're probably not gonna take the risk of
- 26:05Speaker 3: finding out, but something goes down for the wind and
- 26:08Speaker 3: you feel like you were wronged.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Yeah. So I think the the biggest frustration as a
- 26:13Speaker 4: race car driver is when somebody repeatedly makes mistakes and
- 26:17Speaker 4: all you hear is I'm sorry constantly. Yeah, You're not sorry,
- 26:21Speaker 4: There is no there's there's no salt.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 26:24Speaker 4: You're just saying it because you were media trained to
- 26:26Speaker 4: say it, right. So I think that's where a lot
- 26:29Speaker 4: of frustration comes as a race car driver when you
- 26:32Speaker 4: get out, you know, and as Chris was talking about
- 26:34Speaker 4: race car drivers, we the better we finished, the better
- 26:37Speaker 4: we race. So it's almost like running up to somebody
- 26:40Speaker 4: grabbing their wallet and you know, taking taking food off
- 26:42Speaker 4: their table. Yeah, and uh so that can get really frustrating.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah, who comes to mind when you're speaking?
- 26:49Speaker 2: We were locked eye right there, and I just knew, why.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Keep you keep locking eyes with me?
- 26:53Speaker 2: You're hosting the show. I want to look at you
- 26:55Speaker 2: guys when I'm talking to you. You know you're looking
- 26:57Speaker 2: at me being like it really pisses you off when
- 26:59Speaker 2: a guy runs you have the wall a bunch of
- 27:00Speaker 2: times and keep saying I'm sorry.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's got a lot of emotion behind the opinion.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Yeah, love emotion, and someone's got to say that the
- 27:07Speaker 2: quiet thing out loud.
- 27:08Speaker 4: You have the floor, I have the floor.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Okay, Well what I'll say is, I'm I'm gonna race
- 27:14Speaker 4: you like you race me type of person.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Yeah all right, and I proved that. Okay, Okay, listen.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I don't have the full context of what you just
- 27:23Speaker 2: were talking about, but it sounded fucking cool, you know
- 27:25Speaker 2: when you said it out loud.
- 27:26Speaker 1: It's gonna be a great clip when we just make
- 27:28Speaker 1: a highlights driver in it.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I'm gonna race you like you race me, and then
- 27:33Speaker 2: just drops.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:35Speaker 2: It shows and shows and winning.
- 27:36Speaker 4: Ye know, there you go.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I'm sure the nascars probably know who he's talking.
- 27:40Speaker 2: You know exactly. They'll let us know in the comments
- 27:42Speaker 2: right now.
- 27:42Speaker 4: But the racing that I come from and how I
- 27:47Speaker 4: came up the ranks is I raced against a lot
- 27:50Speaker 4: of you know, forty fifty year old veterans, and you
- 27:54Speaker 4: had to give respect to get respect, right, So if
- 27:58Speaker 4: you're not willing to give respect, you're not going to
- 28:00Speaker 4: get it in return.
- 28:02Speaker 2: When you were coming up and what was a lesson
- 28:04Speaker 2: you had to learn to be able to be like, Okay,
- 28:06Speaker 2: that's how you should race. That's how racing should be done.
- 28:09Speaker 4: So there was a in the northeast. There was a
- 28:11Speaker 4: guy by the name of Ted Christopher, and he was
- 28:13Speaker 4: known for what's called the three tap rule. And that
- 28:16Speaker 4: three tap rule was like, hey, you know, I hit
- 28:18Speaker 4: you the first time, I'm letting you know him there.
- 28:20Speaker 4: The second time, get out of my way, or I'm
- 28:22Speaker 4: going to move you. The third time, you were gone.
- 28:24Speaker 4: And there was a race where when I got to him,
- 28:28Speaker 4: I we had instead of doors because these were open
- 28:31Speaker 4: wheel cars, they were called nerf bars. Okay, and I
- 28:35Speaker 4: did what a dirt racer would do except I'm on
- 28:38Speaker 4: asphalt and it was like a slide job, except you
- 28:40Speaker 4: would use your nerve bar to move him out of
- 28:42Speaker 4: the way. Well I did that to him. Well the
- 28:45Speaker 4: next corner he shipped me to the moon sit. Yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 4: and that was kind of that was a that was
- 28:51Speaker 4: a lesson for me, like, hey, if I want to
- 28:54Speaker 4: you know, not get shipped, I'm not going to do
- 28:57Speaker 4: the shipping. And then you just you race with the respect.
- 29:00Speaker 4: So I've had my rivalries, I've gone through you know,
- 29:04Speaker 4: I've gone I've gone through that, and I think the
- 29:07Speaker 4: biggest lesson is is when you race people respect, you're
- 29:10Speaker 4: going to get it back. So that's kind of that's
- 29:12Speaker 4: my code, right and you don't you don't lay a
- 29:14Speaker 4: bumper to me. I'm not going to lay a bumper
- 29:16Speaker 4: to you. But if you started, yeah, yeah, we're.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Gonna finish it.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Not really, but.
- 29:23Speaker 2: We're not going to intentionally finish it, you know, much like.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Steve reference to is is we're going to race, and
- 29:29Speaker 4: that's what racers. There's kind of a there's a code.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a code that takes place. Are there any
- 29:35Speaker 2: drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series now that don't follow
- 29:38Speaker 2: that code? That you're referring to.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, single week, I got a fun
- 29:43Speaker 1: question from both you answer for the other Ryan in
- 29:47Speaker 1: your mind. I'll start with you, who is Chris's biggest rival? As?
- 29:50Speaker 2: Great question.
- 29:54Speaker 4: You, yeah, but see, see that's tough because Chris is
- 30:00Speaker 4: so quiet prosper Texas like he.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Prosper Texas on a map that's exactly where it is.
- 30:09Speaker 4: But I'm telling you right now, Chris is not the
- 30:11Speaker 4: guy like he races with a bunch of respect. And
- 30:16Speaker 4: I don't I don't really know who.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Is having your boy, knowing your prosper Texas boy, who
- 30:20Speaker 1: would you think in his mind like, oh, that's just
- 30:22Speaker 1: he's happy to get this wing, because that's that's like
- 30:24Speaker 1: a that's the low key rival of his.
- 30:28Speaker 3: I don't think that I've got rival at this point,
- 30:32Speaker 3: Like we haven't had a consistent running I guess back
- 30:38Speaker 3: and forth with anybody for uh for quite a while.
- 30:42Speaker 3: And maybe that's not a good thing. Maybe it is,
- 30:44Speaker 3: but uh, bringing up prosper Texas picks it out here.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Christ for you, who would be Ryan's biggest rival?
- 30:53Speaker 3: Ryan's biggest rival? It hasn't been too terrible, it's uh, well,
- 31:00Speaker 3: I got a name in mind, but I don't know
- 31:03Speaker 3: if it's worth.
- 31:05Speaker 4: You can say it. I'll give you approval.
- 31:08Speaker 3: It's uh, well you and and Gibbs had a little
- 31:11Speaker 3: bit of a of a go earlier in the year,
- 31:14Speaker 3: but I think that's been okay since.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Well it's over. I paid a fine, right, so it's done.
- 31:19Speaker 3: It's done. So the rivalry kind of moves on. I
- 31:22Speaker 3: don't know. I feel like if you you have those
- 31:25Speaker 3: ones on track, and you're gonna feel like you're wrong
- 31:27Speaker 3: at times, but it's uh, it's gonna come back around
- 31:31Speaker 3: at some point. They always do.
- 31:33Speaker 1: So the rivals gives.
- 31:36Speaker 4: I don't think it's a rivalry anymore. Feel it you
- 31:43Speaker 4: feel this is just like being in our gym where
- 31:46Speaker 4: there's a bunch of athletes like our jackman, our pickrew guys.
- 31:49Speaker 4: They're all they're the same. It is the exact same.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Massive instigators. Which one is your favorite?
- 31:59Speaker 4: All of them?
- 32:00Speaker 1: Answer?
- 32:01Speaker 2: That's a good answer.
- 32:02Speaker 3: I know, never bothered you right down step.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you always have a favorite.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, yeah, No, there is one. Actually it's his
- 32:11Speaker 4: tire carrier. We like to go back and forth quite
- 32:14Speaker 4: a bit.
- 32:15Speaker 2: That's your guy, that's how that's your last.
- 32:16Speaker 4: One we like to, you know, take little jabs at Yeah.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah that's that man. What as you would you
- 32:24Speaker 2: consider your picker guys like family? Yeah, you love them
- 32:27Speaker 2: like a father figured to them in a lot of way.
- 32:29Speaker 2: It's not a father figure, but maybe like you're the
- 32:30Speaker 2: leader of the quarterback.
- 32:31Speaker 4: Well my jackman literally hill like after after Pitt packs,
- 32:35Speaker 4: he'll pick me up like I'm his kids. So I
- 32:37Speaker 4: don't know if I can.
- 32:41Speaker 2: So when Christmas rolls around, what are we getting the
- 32:43Speaker 2: boys for Christmas?
- 32:44Speaker 4: I took care of my guys pretty well. I feel like, yeah, no,
- 32:49Speaker 4: I had like these customs.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Actually I got this is what I want to see,
- 32:53Speaker 2: this is what you want to say.
- 32:54Speaker 4: Get them dollar. Yeah. So I had these money clips
- 32:59Speaker 4: made with their names on them and the number sixty
- 33:02Speaker 4: and and put some cash in there.
- 33:04Speaker 2: For him and those ship it.
- 33:07Speaker 3: There's no money in it now.
- 33:08Speaker 4: There's no money in it now.
- 33:09Speaker 2: It's a little buttony.
- 33:10Speaker 1: It's a good gift too, because it's when you don't
- 33:12Speaker 1: think about you just don't think about getting as a
- 33:14Speaker 1: gift and they use all the time.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Yeah, they love them.
- 33:16Speaker 3: That's pretty slick.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I like that.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Christmas about you? What do you get your boys. Uh
- 33:21Speaker 2: Christmas rolls.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Around Cash is king and mine just didn't come wrapped?
- 33:25Speaker 3: Is cool? I guess yeah, it didn't look as cool
- 33:28Speaker 3: as Texas.
- 33:28Speaker 1: He just gets the rubber band out of the podcast.
- 33:34Speaker 1: What's it like for you guys racing with Brad and
- 33:38Speaker 1: also him being the owner. How's that dynamic?
- 33:41Speaker 3: It's it's good, but it is certainly tricky at times,
- 33:44Speaker 3: I'd say, because Brad's a hard racer. He's a uh,
- 33:48Speaker 3: you know, a champion of our sport. He knows how
- 33:50Speaker 3: to win races, and he's uh, he's had his fair
- 33:54Speaker 3: share of run ins through the years as well, right,
- 33:56Speaker 3: so you know it's it's one of those when when
- 33:58Speaker 3: need be, he's gonna get after it. It's a little
- 34:01Speaker 3: easier in some ways where he has invested ownership in
- 34:05Speaker 3: all three of our race cars, and so you know
- 34:08Speaker 3: you're not going to get wronged in any kind of
- 34:11Speaker 3: intentional way because he wants all of us to succeed.
- 34:14Speaker 3: But we are competitors at the end of the day.
- 34:18Speaker 3: I'd say it's a little bit harder from our well,
- 34:21Speaker 3: I'll speak for myself from my point to to race
- 34:23Speaker 3: Brad at times, because his name is on my shirt
- 34:27Speaker 3: and my fire suit in my car and my paycheck
- 34:30Speaker 3: and not the other way around. So you have to
- 34:32Speaker 3: have like that, that fire and that drive to try
- 34:35Speaker 3: and figure how to race everybody. But there's a little
- 34:38Speaker 3: added level of respect once it comes to uh generally teammates,
- 34:43Speaker 3: but but also knowing that that Brad is also our
- 34:46Speaker 3: are our boss man.
- 34:47Speaker 1: At the end of the day, I pass him here,
- 34:49Speaker 1: Do not know?
- 34:50Speaker 3: You always pass?
- 34:51Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 34:52Speaker 2: Certainly enough in the.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Race I can pass them.
- 34:53Speaker 4: Here's like, you know, there's situations where you aren't going
- 34:58Speaker 4: to hurt each other on the track. When I mean
- 35:00Speaker 4: hurt each other, I mean like hurt how the race
- 35:03Speaker 4: is going. So like if if let's say Brad is
- 35:06Speaker 4: side by side with somebody and we have a run
- 35:07Speaker 4: coming where you can take them three wide and kind
- 35:10Speaker 4: of clear them both. There's definitely times where you'll get
- 35:12Speaker 4: behind the guy, you know, your teammate or Brad and
- 35:15Speaker 4: push him by, right, So instead of putting each.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Other in a bat small shaking big a little bank,
- 35:20Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 35:22Speaker 4: I think I feel like we do that at super speedways.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Quite we do that quote, So shaking bank is real.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah, there's been a lot of backs and forth
- 35:29Speaker 2: on that on every show, because every show I bring
- 35:30Speaker 2: up tell.
- 35:30Speaker 3: It we don't get to just grab a gear and
- 35:32Speaker 3: turn around people and drive on. But the principle, I
- 35:36Speaker 3: guess is rooted in reality. The execution in the movie
- 35:40Speaker 3: is wildly exaggerated amongst the entire movie.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 2: When yours are with Brad, youse are clearly a team.
- 35:51Speaker 2: He's invested shirts, his name's all over the shirt, the
- 35:53Speaker 2: fire suit everything. How much is he willing to give you, guys,
- 35:57Speaker 2: game on how to Hey, this is how you have
- 35:58Speaker 2: longevity in this league. This is how you should raise
- 36:01Speaker 2: this individual. And how much do you think He's kind
- 36:03Speaker 2: of like, Hey, this is kind of for me though,
- 36:05Speaker 2: if you want to you want this information, that'll learn
- 36:07Speaker 2: it yourself.
- 36:07Speaker 4: So I'll speak on this coming to RFK last year
- 36:10Speaker 4: was my first year, and what I've learned is Brad
- 36:13Speaker 4: as a race car driver, as Brad as part of
- 36:15Speaker 4: the ownership group, he'll sacrifice his team or or things
- 36:20Speaker 4: for them to be able to you know, put our
- 36:23Speaker 4: group together. When when they were doing that, so you
- 36:27Speaker 4: know in in twenty twenty five, didn't he Yeah, he
- 36:31Speaker 4: broke up his pit crew, which his pick crew at
- 36:33Speaker 4: the time was one of the best on Pitt Road
- 36:35Speaker 4: to make sure that I had, you know, a really
- 36:37Speaker 4: strong pick crew at the start last year. So yeah,
- 36:41Speaker 4: So my my opinion of it is Brad is not
- 36:43Speaker 4: selfish at all, and he's he's going to do what's
- 36:46Speaker 4: best for the organization.
- 36:47Speaker 1: What's something that would surprise people, but Brad.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Big stock guys, and that probably plays into he is
- 36:55Speaker 3: extremely methodical, and I don't know if that surprises a
- 36:58Speaker 3: lot of people that are are big fans, but from
- 37:02Speaker 3: a casual fan standpoint, Brad's extremely thoughtful in how he
- 37:08Speaker 3: goes about everything. I feel like, and I think that's
- 37:11Speaker 3: why he's he's been such a good race card driver.
- 37:15Speaker 3: I think that's why he's been such a good owner.
- 37:17Speaker 3: At the same time, I think it's why there's just
- 37:20Speaker 3: a lot of successes in so many different areas because
- 37:23Speaker 3: he is very methodical in everything he does, and there's
- 37:26Speaker 3: a lot more than a lot more than a knee
- 37:28Speaker 3: jerk reaction at any given time. And I just seeing
- 37:32Speaker 3: it through the years the last several years being at
- 37:35Speaker 3: RFK and and had a pretty good idea of it
- 37:38Speaker 3: before just with some small interactions, but it's it's in depth.
- 37:43Speaker 4: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Let's get to uh, let's get to you guys. Let
- 37:46Speaker 2: me let me hear about this love story. We had
- 37:47Speaker 2: an individual from the Northeast, another man from from tayhas like,
- 37:50Speaker 2: how did you guys become such close friends?
- 37:53Speaker 4: Well, it was twenty nineteen when we first became teammates
- 37:57Speaker 4: at JTG, right, and yeah, I don't think he knew
- 38:00Speaker 4: anything about me and I knew nothing about him. We
- 38:02Speaker 4: were just we were doing these Kroger skits, which is
- 38:06Speaker 4: our sponsor there and still to this day. Right, So
- 38:10Speaker 4: that was kind of how we got to know each other.
- 38:11Speaker 4: And you know, I'm really talkative in Northeast and very
- 38:15Speaker 4: blunt and like kind of a ball buster. Yeah, and
- 38:18Speaker 4: then he was really quiet. So it just kind of
- 38:21Speaker 4: worked really well.
- 38:22Speaker 3: So interesting to me was the first Kroger skit that
- 38:26Speaker 3: we did. I was the the ballbuster, the outgoing one,
- 38:30Speaker 3: and he was the quiet one. Complete role revers one.
- 38:33Speaker 3: I remember thinking I was like, I don't know if
- 38:35Speaker 3: he's going to enjoy this, Like this might not go over.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Well it turns out he's fine. I don't worry.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Yeah, but we just I don't know. I mean, it's
- 38:43Speaker 4: easy to get along with him because he's he's pretty.
- 38:48Speaker 4: I don't know what's the word I'm looking for.
- 38:51Speaker 1: You don't know.
- 38:52Speaker 4: There's not much like our We have common interests and
- 38:56Speaker 4: there's really no ego, right, so you just banner back
- 38:59Speaker 4: and forth and it's a good times. But the toughest
- 39:03Speaker 4: thing to me with Chris is that he likes all
- 39:07Speaker 4: his trucks lifted.
- 39:09Speaker 2: You have a hard time with.
- 39:10Speaker 4: That, Yeah, man, it's got to be to the ground,
- 39:12Speaker 4: on the ground to try.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, see, I uh, I'm what you call it
- 39:17Speaker 2: cake either. I like them both because I have like
- 39:19Speaker 2: this old seventy seven one hundred that I've lowered quite
- 39:22Speaker 2: a bit more of like a street truck. I think
- 39:23Speaker 2: that's pretty badass. But now I'm kind of getting into
- 39:27Speaker 2: the four by four crew cab. We got a too.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Like my truck out there right now has a two
- 39:32Speaker 2: inch lift on it. So I like them both.
- 39:35Speaker 1: I like that kind of goes natural with the raptor. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:38Speaker 1: but that's.
- 39:38Speaker 2: This custom see of the stance that like, I think
- 39:43Speaker 2: you can go way too far in a truck, but
- 39:45Speaker 2: every truck needs to have a little something personalized to
- 39:47Speaker 2: You can't just get it off the lot, get up
- 39:48Speaker 2: a lot. Put something, Yeah, put something on it, whether
- 39:51Speaker 2: it's a little system exhaust, whatever, something that's near and
- 39:53Speaker 2: dear to you. Butterflies, that's exactly butterflies. Like I thought,
- 39:57Speaker 2: by the way, I think so far from me knowing
- 39:59Speaker 2: you match your personality purpose for sure. Right, Yeah, we
- 40:03Speaker 2: kind of feel that way. A softie, yeah, but you
- 40:05Speaker 2: you are. We on the same page. Like customizing your
- 40:07Speaker 2: truck a little.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Bit, absolutely, we gotta maybe maybe more than a little bit.
- 40:11Speaker 3: I I can go both ways too. Will drives fine
- 40:15Speaker 3: to to lower down a little bit, but I like
- 40:18Speaker 3: to jump stuff and I don't like slowing down for
- 40:20Speaker 3: speed bumps. And and I found out there's, uh, there's
- 40:24Speaker 3: there's ways to do that and have a little funnel
- 40:27Speaker 3: on the way. And my stuff's not slow, but it's
- 40:29Speaker 3: not uh it's not as quick as Ryan stuff. It's
- 40:32Speaker 3: a little heavier, a little more rotating mass, but still
- 40:36Speaker 3: a good time. It's it's we're taking the doors off
- 40:39Speaker 3: the Bronco originated. I wanted him to experience that four
- 40:42Speaker 3: by four lifestyle.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Custom Yeah, it's good. You're just trying to culture your
- 40:45Speaker 2: friend a little bit exactly when it comes to the
- 40:47Speaker 2: lift on your truck, are we going the you know,
- 40:50Speaker 2: the higher the truck, the closer to God type of mentality.
- 40:54Speaker 3: I'm a little older nowadays, so uh yeah, we we
- 40:57Speaker 3: started there, and we're back to like about about four
- 41:02Speaker 3: four and a half inch lifts. That's about where I
- 41:04Speaker 3: max out at now.
- 41:06Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 41:06Speaker 3: I've matured right off to get into the thing. I
- 41:09Speaker 3: can just barely fitting car washes, gotcha. Yeah, yeah, I
- 41:12Speaker 3: don't like climbing, and and yeah.
- 41:16Speaker 1: You guys both you guys both grew up working on
- 41:18Speaker 1: race cars also while also driving them. Who would be
- 41:22Speaker 1: the most trusting one to work on a race car?
- 41:26Speaker 4: Mhmm, Your stuff's broke a lot.
- 41:29Speaker 3: I'm hard on stuff though in my defence, like it
- 41:32Speaker 3: does break a lot, but it's I do put it
- 41:35Speaker 3: together correctly most of the time. I'm just hard on it.
- 41:37Speaker 4: And see I was saying, I do it nice because
- 41:39Speaker 4: I do it twice.
- 41:43Speaker 1: So there's a car in the garage and one of
- 41:44Speaker 1: you are going in to fix the vehicle, and they're like, hey,
- 41:46Speaker 1: whichever one of you guys want to come in and
- 41:48Speaker 1: work on this thing? Who'd be the one who would
- 41:50Speaker 1: be the man with the keys.
- 41:51Speaker 3: To be clear, we have real professionals that work on
- 41:54Speaker 3: our race cars now so they do not do not
- 41:56Speaker 3: allow us in the shop nowadays. But we have lots
- 41:59Speaker 3: of personal and uh personal race cars, so I'd say
- 42:04Speaker 3: we're we're fairly uh fairly good with with wrenches your
- 42:09Speaker 3: body man.
- 42:12Speaker 4: That No, I mean that's where we've We've definitely grown out,
- 42:17Speaker 4: We've gotten older, we have kids, just like you know
- 42:19Speaker 4: y'all do, and it's uh, it's turned into where now
- 42:23Speaker 4: we don't have enough time to work on these projects.
- 42:26Speaker 4: So life has definitely changed quite a bit. But as
- 42:28Speaker 4: far as turbos, superchargers, all that good stuff, yeah, I
- 42:33Speaker 4: trust them putting one on my truck.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's nice. That's a really nice thing to say.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Do you think like being able to work on vehicles
- 42:38Speaker 2: and understanding the inside announce has helped you guys in
- 42:40Speaker 2: your NASCAR career?
- 42:41Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, yep, I mean I enjoy it that
- 42:45Speaker 4: that's part of racing though. Like as far as what
- 42:47Speaker 4: the sport was built on, the Moonshiner's like they all
- 42:52Speaker 4: built their cars and wanted to race them, and that's
- 42:54Speaker 4: that's you know, as far as where I come from,
- 42:58Speaker 4: racing modified up in the Northeast. You go up there,
- 43:01Speaker 4: now there's a lot of you know, twenty twenty five
- 43:03Speaker 4: year old thirty year old kids that work on their
- 43:06Speaker 4: own race cars and build race cars, and so yeah,
- 43:11Speaker 4: I think it's really important because it gives you a
- 43:15Speaker 4: level of understanding about you know, you need you need
- 43:18Speaker 4: a fast car in order to go fast and to
- 43:21Speaker 4: help the whole process to you know, I feel like
- 43:25Speaker 4: you're like really good about helping your team get from
- 43:30Speaker 4: where if you're like you're all right to getting really
- 43:33Speaker 4: fast at mile and a half and you know some
- 43:35Speaker 4: of those other places. It's you know, in communication.
- 43:39Speaker 3: From working on right, having an understanding of what it
- 43:41Speaker 3: is that you want the race car too because you've
- 43:44Speaker 3: worked on it in yourself right, and that's Oh, there's
- 43:47Speaker 3: so many, so many roads to go down on this
- 43:49Speaker 3: topic in general. But but yeah, my dad's a hot rodder,
- 43:54Speaker 3: So I grew up working in the garage holding the
- 43:56Speaker 3: flashlight wrong, right, getting killed after that, and then eventually
- 43:59Speaker 3: learning the rest of it. But we were a race
- 44:00Speaker 3: fans and it carried over when we started racing. You
- 44:04Speaker 3: worked on your own stuff, and it was for several reasons.
- 44:07Speaker 3: One was to have an understanding and to say, hey,
- 44:09Speaker 3: it's it's in the right rear is where I need
- 44:12Speaker 3: better feel or more platform control, or something's wrong and
- 44:16Speaker 3: left front you know something along those lines. And it's
- 44:19Speaker 3: also an appreciation for equipment. Right when you work on
- 44:22Speaker 3: your own stuff, you don't go out there and crash
- 44:24Speaker 3: everything every week. Yeah, and if you do that, if
- 44:27Speaker 3: you out and crash every week, you don't spend any
- 44:29Speaker 3: time refining and making your stuff better. You just spend
- 44:32Speaker 3: time fixing it back to where it maybe was in
- 44:35Speaker 3: the get go. So it's helped us have an appreciation
- 44:40Speaker 3: for your race cars, for the work that goes into
- 44:43Speaker 3: our race cars, the brain of the racetrack every week,
- 44:46Speaker 3: and know that there's a lot of things that you
- 44:49Speaker 3: need to take care of it. And then there's this
- 44:51Speaker 3: car has changed a lot, right, this car is way
- 44:53Speaker 3: more robust and it doesn't require the level of respect
- 44:57Speaker 3: given to it with without a metal body, it's really
- 45:01Speaker 3: the main thing. And with breaks on them that are
- 45:05Speaker 3: that are so good now, whether it's transmissions, I don't
- 45:09Speaker 3: think of transmissions breaking at this point. It's just they're
- 45:11Speaker 3: more robust to the point where you don't have to
- 45:13Speaker 3: have respect for the race car as much as it
- 45:15Speaker 3: used to. But it was certainly extremely helpful getting going
- 45:19Speaker 3: through through the years.
- 45:20Speaker 1: With all the drivers on the field, how many of
- 45:22Speaker 1: them know what's going on mechanically, you like to a
- 45:25Speaker 1: level that you guys seem to be at.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Hear the way Chris was just talking. He went to
- 45:29Speaker 2: a little days for a minute there and he was like,
- 45:30Speaker 2: this guy's an encyclopedia. Yeah, he loves the craft. Yeah
- 45:35Speaker 2: he was other transmissions. I'll tell you. It was just
- 45:37Speaker 2: it was beautiful.
- 45:38Speaker 4: But I think as the newer drivers come in, the
- 45:40Speaker 4: younger drivers, there's not as much knowledge there for sure,
- 45:45Speaker 4: from what I see, but there's there's quite a few
- 45:48Speaker 4: drivers that have a strong understanding of you think it's
- 45:50Speaker 4: tasking the fast.
- 45:53Speaker 3: I think there's knows what's going on that. I bet
- 45:57Speaker 3: there's drivers that don't know how to charge a battery.
- 45:59Speaker 4: I wouldn't. Well, yeah, maybe for sure. William William has
- 46:04Speaker 4: been racing. He's more of just the driver. Nothing I
- 46:07Speaker 4: don't Yeah, you don't.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Fault that, but you don't like that he doesn't respect me.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Actually a way of doing things. You can tell he's
- 46:18Speaker 2: got a way of doing is not the way he
- 46:20Speaker 2: would do it. But hey, you know more than one cat,
- 46:23Speaker 2: I guess there is.
- 46:24Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right.
- 46:25Speaker 2: And so you're like, William Byron, I love your craft.
- 46:27Speaker 2: I love the way you call what a cool story.
- 46:29Speaker 2: I wouldn't do it.
- 46:30Speaker 1: That comes up his mouth and William Bron comes up.
- 46:32Speaker 1: He's just a driver.
- 46:36Speaker 4: That was the New England in me, right there, he's
- 46:40Speaker 4: but well it's just it's totally different, right, and and
- 46:43Speaker 4: you know every driver is completely different. So William his
- 46:46Speaker 4: story and I don't I don't entirely know the whole thing,
- 46:49Speaker 4: but I want to say it started with I racing, right.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and legs and racing, and then it was.
- 46:55Speaker 4: It was pretty wild and yeah for sure.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it.
- 47:02Speaker 1: We're creating something.
- 47:04Speaker 2: We are we're becoming heel of Nascar. Yeah, don't go
- 47:07Speaker 2: on that show. They're going to fuck around the whole time.
- 47:10Speaker 4: I'm telling you, I feel like going to the RFK
- 47:13Speaker 4: gym has prepared me for this podcast.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Boys are going to be loving.
- 47:16Speaker 4: The difference is nobody's recording me at the RFK gym.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Yeah, what is it? What is your stance on I
- 47:22Speaker 2: racing on the not for you, huh, you love it.
- 47:26Speaker 4: I think I Racing is a huge, like a great platform.
- 47:28Speaker 4: I did it when it first came out, and I
- 47:30Speaker 4: think two thousand and nine or right around there. It's
- 47:34Speaker 4: it's been out for a long time. But I did
- 47:36Speaker 4: before I Racing. It was called NASCAR Racing two thousand
- 47:39Speaker 4: and three, where you would like download the different cars
- 47:42Speaker 4: that you could import into like files on the back end.
- 47:45Speaker 4: And but yeah, I mean as I got older and
- 47:48Speaker 4: time became, you know, it was a lot a lot
- 47:51Speaker 4: harder to get free time. Now I don't do it
- 47:54Speaker 4: nearly as much.
- 47:56Speaker 2: What what what started your love for racing? Like as
- 47:59Speaker 2: a young lad, we got that, We got that bug
- 48:02Speaker 2: going for you.
- 48:03Speaker 4: My father, so my grandfather on my mother's side, he
- 48:07Speaker 4: owned a modified that race in uh at Riverside Park,
- 48:11Speaker 4: and then my father always wanted the race, so we
- 48:13Speaker 4: started racing in street stocks at Thompson, Connecticut, and then
- 48:18Speaker 4: he ended up going to late Models in Connecticut. And
- 48:20Speaker 4: then when I was six years old, he took myself
- 48:24Speaker 4: and my two older brothers to go check out what
- 48:27Speaker 4: they call quartermages, which is like a different version of
- 48:29Speaker 4: a go kart for for kids, and we went there
- 48:32Speaker 4: and that was it. It was like you went from
- 48:35Speaker 4: playing baseball and all your kids sports to going to
- 48:38Speaker 4: the racetrack every Saturday.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Yeah, how about for you, Chris?
- 48:42Speaker 3: Uh, Like I said, my dad was a hot rodder,
- 48:44Speaker 3: so I was around cars a lot. We were at
- 48:47Speaker 3: a car shows in the racetrack and in Texas, so
- 48:51Speaker 3: we spent had season tickets to go to the races,
- 48:54Speaker 3: so we were around it.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Uh.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Started off on motorcycles when I was five or six,
- 49:00Speaker 3: I think, And yeah, I mean we started racing those.
- 49:04Speaker 3: I flipped over the hand of bars and got run over,
- 49:08Speaker 3: and I think my mom kind of pulled the plug
- 49:10Speaker 3: on my motocross career right then. But my dad had
- 49:13Speaker 3: a coworker that was racing Legends cars out of Texamare
- 49:16Speaker 3: Speedway and in which are are you know five eight
- 49:21Speaker 3: scale race cars meant to look like the mid thirties
- 49:25Speaker 3: for Chevy Dodges that that were the moonshine running cars,
- 49:29Speaker 3: right Yeah, and fired off into that and and kind
- 49:34Speaker 3: of just caught a bug really quickly. I was like, Yeah,
- 49:37Speaker 3: this is this is way better than anything else I
- 49:40Speaker 3: could have come up with, and made it all the
- 49:42Speaker 3: way to I think thirteen years old remember having a
- 49:46Speaker 3: sit down in the living room in text and was like, Hey,
- 49:48Speaker 3: if this is, you know, a hobby, that's great. We'll
- 49:51Speaker 3: keep going to the racetrack on Saturday nights and we'll have
- 49:54Speaker 3: fun as long as it done interfere with you know,
- 49:58Speaker 3: schooling or you know, whatever path you want or if
- 50:00Speaker 3: you want this to be your career, it's time to commit.
- 50:03Speaker 3: And I was like, well, I don't want to say
- 50:06Speaker 3: it a desk, so and this is awesome. So we
- 50:09Speaker 3: took off to Charlotte, North Carolina at thirteen years old
- 50:13Speaker 3: as soon as school let out, and we started try
- 50:15Speaker 3: one up and down the East Coast racing legends cars,
- 50:17Speaker 3: just trying to get in front of the right people
- 50:18Speaker 3: and win the right races, and kind of took off
- 50:21Speaker 3: from there.
- 50:22Speaker 1: So guys, listen up, we need to talk about something
- 50:27Speaker 1: very serious. Oh no, breakfast. Okay, actually, yes, very serious
- 50:32Speaker 1: because for too long breakfast has been either nothing but coffee,
- 50:37Speaker 1: which is a crime, or a full production chopping, prepping, cooking, cleaning,
- 50:42Speaker 1: and by the time you're done, it's basically lunch exactly.
- 50:46Speaker 1: And that's why we are fired to have to announce
- 50:47Speaker 1: that Kevin's Natural Foods now has breakfast. Kevin's for breakfast.
- 50:53Speaker 1: You guys already know we love Kevin's for lunch and dinner,
- 50:56Speaker 1: and now that we get to officially add breakfast to
- 50:59Speaker 1: the morning routine. They're scrambler starters, which means you can
- 51:03Speaker 1: now eat Kevin's all day, every day. That's a complete system,
- 51:06Speaker 1: that's a winning game plan. Kevin's Scramble starters are legit.
- 51:10Speaker 1: They're made with tender protein, criss vegetables, and a creamy
- 51:13Speaker 1: sauce with insanely good flavors like Denver style ham and
- 51:16Speaker 1: white cheddar and spinach and bacon florentine. Just add eggs
- 51:21Speaker 1: for a delicious scramble in minutes. Plus. They're made with
- 51:24Speaker 1: real ingredients, no added sugars, gluten free, soy free, and
- 51:29Speaker 1: no mystery meat, just high quality protein. You got that right.
- 51:33Speaker 1: You just take the scramble starter out of the freezer,
- 51:35Speaker 1: throw it in a pan, add your eggs, drizzle in
- 51:37Speaker 1: the sauce, and in about fifteen minutes you've got a
- 51:40Speaker 1: real breakfast that's better than anything you've ordered at a restaurant,
- 51:43Speaker 1: but without waiting forty five minutes for a table. So yes,
- 51:46Speaker 1: Kevin'snatural Foods has breakfast now find Kevin's Scrambler starters in
- 51:50Speaker 1: the Frozen Isle at Target, Kroger, Harris, Teater, Giant, and
- 51:54Speaker 1: Hannaford's stores. Kevin's for breakfasts, Morning's just got a major upgrade.
- 52:02Speaker 1: How much is it a game of knowing the right
- 52:04Speaker 1: people and knowing the right person in this industry because
- 52:07Speaker 1: everybody has such a fascinating story for how they finally
- 52:10Speaker 1: cut their teeth into getting into the bigger leagues and
- 52:12Speaker 1: everything else.
- 52:13Speaker 4: I mean, it's everybody's story is way different. Like I'll
- 52:17Speaker 4: let you talk about yours and then I'll tell mine.
- 52:20Speaker 3: I'd say it it would shock you when you're thirteen
- 52:25Speaker 3: fifteen years old anywhere in there, right, and you're having
- 52:28Speaker 3: conversations with people friends you've made along the way, You
- 52:31Speaker 3: would never think that that was a friendship that was
- 52:34Speaker 3: going to lead to something bigger at the time. Right,
- 52:38Speaker 3: I've got friends, good friends that are all the way
- 52:42Speaker 3: in Las Vegas that had a huge impact in getting
- 52:45Speaker 3: me in front of the right people in North Carolina
- 52:47Speaker 3: through you know, different different connections they had to through
- 52:52Speaker 3: car dealerships. I've got you know, families that so David
- 52:58Speaker 3: Reagan is a retired race car driver that when he
- 53:02Speaker 3: moved out of his family's home in North Carolina, I
- 53:05Speaker 3: basically moved in shortly after. And that's how I was
- 53:08Speaker 3: able to come to North Carolina and live and and
- 53:11Speaker 3: be around them. So I worked in David's shop in
- 53:13Speaker 3: the unions. I volunteered for pitt practice at roush Uh
- 53:17Speaker 3: you know, just a homeschool through high school and uh,
- 53:20Speaker 3: like I've heard others talk about it, I had to
- 53:22Speaker 3: go get my ged just because it's didn't have time
- 53:26Speaker 3: to actually do real schooling. Worked out, Okay at the
- 53:30Speaker 3: end of the day, right, I can spell ged, So
- 53:32Speaker 3: that's all right.
- 53:34Speaker 4: I'll tell your your high school story was a little
- 53:37Speaker 4: different than mine.
- 53:38Speaker 3: My high school was pissed. We started missing all those
- 53:40Speaker 3: Friday races that did not go over whether like, yeah,
- 53:44Speaker 3: this is this is not acceptable. And I was like, well,
- 53:46Speaker 3: everyone's leaving for football games. And I think I was
- 53:49Speaker 3: in band and the marriage band was was a nice
- 53:52Speaker 3: touch this morning. And I did play trumpet in school
- 53:56Speaker 3: and I attempted to. I attempted to. I failed band.
- 54:00Speaker 2: And you should have said, give me that thing.
- 54:05Speaker 3: You ever reached the first chair, I never reached sixth
- 54:09Speaker 3: or seventh.
- 54:10Speaker 1: But there was one time in my life.
- 54:13Speaker 3: Sixth grade, well done.
- 54:14Speaker 1: I celebrated and everybody's face in the row, and then
- 54:17Speaker 1: I immediately lost it the next week.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Man, you got a good memory, man, because I remember.
- 54:24Speaker 1: I remember that moment when I finally reached the first chair.
- 54:26Speaker 1: But I was usually average fourth fifth chair, jealous of
- 54:29Speaker 1: the others, sat back your you know the little yeah.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't take it home. That's why I failed.
- 54:36Speaker 2: I never played an instrument for it was the recorder.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Is that what they're called? The little flute?
- 54:42Speaker 1: Yeah, you had all of them, the percussion flutes, you
- 54:45Speaker 1: had trombones, tubas, saxophone. I was rocking the trumpet. I
- 54:50Speaker 1: thought it was what the cool kids did. Yeah, so
- 54:52Speaker 1: I did trump Because you had to choose between choir
- 54:54Speaker 1: and band in fifth, fifth and sixth grade, I would
- 54:56Speaker 1: choose band, so I was. I was. I was ripping
- 54:59Speaker 1: the band. I had been classic everything else. He had
- 55:00Speaker 1: your low case.
- 55:01Speaker 2: You brought home in a ska.
- 55:03Speaker 4: Man, Man, that's wild. See I was just best friends
- 55:08Speaker 4: with my guidance counselor. You got that's it, man, connect
- 55:13Speaker 4: you head to get Yeah, I didn't do this assignment.
- 55:16Speaker 4: I need to do this. Yeah, I missed this class,
- 55:19Speaker 4: try and get it done, but I graduated. Did graduate, dude,
- 55:23Speaker 4: with football.
- 55:24Speaker 2: For me, my guidance counselor was the golden key to
- 55:26Speaker 2: get to get to Michigan. My guidance counselor. I had
- 55:29Speaker 2: a thirty five percent in my Spanish class going into
- 55:31Speaker 2: the final, and if I did not get a C
- 55:34Speaker 2: in that class I went with the with the scale,
- 55:35Speaker 2: I wouldn't have been eligible to go to Michigan. So
- 55:38Speaker 2: I go into his room and I'm like, hey, I'm
- 55:40Speaker 2: not gonna I'm gonna do construction. It seems like that's
- 55:42Speaker 2: what I'm where I'm head. And he's like, go tate
- 55:44Speaker 2: the test and I'm like, no, dude, I'm not Why
- 55:46Speaker 2: would I do that. I'm go hand with the boys.
- 55:48Speaker 2: He's like, just go take the test. Get the little scantron.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Put see for every single answer, leave for like last
- 55:54Speaker 2: one in first one out. That scantron came back. I
- 55:57Speaker 2: got a seventy five percent in that class and I
- 55:59Speaker 2: was grading and going to Michigan. That guidance council end
- 56:02Speaker 2: up becoming the GM for the Raiders. Dave Ziggler, Yeah, yeah,
- 56:06Speaker 2: he was a gangster. Dude. He Without him, I'd be
- 56:09Speaker 2: working construction. We would not be hanging out on the road.
- 56:13Speaker 1: You know how much.
- 56:15Speaker 2: People just help. What's this? Uh a little note here,
- 56:18Speaker 2: says Daytona crash, Ryan's little crash. What happened here?
- 56:21Speaker 4: You want to show picture?
- 56:22Speaker 1: Remember show us the photos when he was naturally had
- 56:25Speaker 1: the massive wreck to where we're like, yo.
- 56:28Speaker 2: It's that's right. Yeah. I was too busy trying to
- 56:30Speaker 2: show you my truck and I couldn't figure it out
- 56:32Speaker 2: until Wilson. You got a blender, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 56:38Speaker 2: you know they're floating in the air right there, that's right.
- 56:44Speaker 2: And the wild that is crazy like a villain, and
- 56:52Speaker 2: that too.
- 56:53Speaker 4: Yeah to the moon that was, uh that was a
- 56:55Speaker 4: wild one. Honestly. There you go, Ryan Priest racing out shop.
- 57:00Speaker 4: Make sure you go get some merch. It's fine, but
- 57:05Speaker 4: it's uh yeah, I mean that that was a wild
- 57:07Speaker 4: one because I just remember getting hit from behind and
- 57:11Speaker 4: heading towards the grass and then everything getting completely silent
- 57:14Speaker 4: and that was it, and then I was out along
- 57:16Speaker 4: for the ride. So it's uh yeah, just uh. I
- 57:21Speaker 4: guess every NASCAR enthusiast that loves Daytona Motor Speedway is
- 57:25Speaker 4: pissed at me because the entire backstretch is just paved.
- 57:29Speaker 4: Now there's no grass really yeah yeah, And the reason
- 57:33Speaker 4: because is because when the car caught air going over. Yeah,
- 57:39Speaker 4: it's not over yet, don't worry. We still got another
- 57:41Speaker 4: few seconds. And right here, you're just not good. You
- 57:45Speaker 4: see remember Ricky Book, Ricky Bobby, He's just like, all right,
- 57:50Speaker 4: I'm flying. This is not good. That's exactly what was happening.
- 57:54Speaker 2: Things when you're in a crash like this, Is it
- 57:57Speaker 2: like happening in slow motion for you? Or is it
- 58:00Speaker 2: just chaos and all of a sudden it's over?
- 58:01Speaker 4: So I closed my eyes and I hope for the best.
- 58:04Speaker 4: So it happens pretty quick.
- 58:05Speaker 2: It kind of grab har.
- 58:06Speaker 4: I feel like if you keep your eyes open, it's
- 58:09Speaker 4: probably gonna go a lot slower. But they also say
- 58:11Speaker 4: there's a good chance that your eyes could like fly
- 58:12Speaker 4: out of here.
- 58:13Speaker 2: What Yeah, that sounds like one of those like if
- 58:17Speaker 2: you your eyes open, your eyes are gonna pop out. Man.
- 58:20Speaker 2: You have you have you heard that as a kid?
- 58:22Speaker 4: Yep?
- 58:22Speaker 1: Or they're trying to like just trying to get us
- 58:24Speaker 1: and believe in that right exactly.
- 58:26Speaker 4: They say spring car drivers like World of out Law Drivers.
- 58:29Speaker 4: They say, if you don't like, there's been some that
- 58:32Speaker 4: gracing too. Yeah, if you keep your eyes open, Yeah,
- 58:36Speaker 4: you close your eyes.
- 58:38Speaker 2: Okay, I pull it up. Has anybody ever had their
- 58:40Speaker 2: eyes pop out of their.
- 58:41Speaker 3: Head when they pull the shoes? They got to close
- 58:43Speaker 3: their eyes at the end. It's three hundred mile an hour.
- 58:45Speaker 2: Two?
- 58:47Speaker 1: So that was you two?
- 58:49Speaker 4: Yeah, pretty bad habit.
- 58:53Speaker 1: But I love it. That one right here? Did this
- 58:55Speaker 1: come after?
- 58:56Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 58:56Speaker 4: That one was after. That was the one that I
- 58:58Speaker 4: ended up doing, the whole spaceship thing. That one actually
- 59:01Speaker 4: hurt worse. My shoulder was didn't feel great for a
- 59:06Speaker 4: solid two months after that.
- 59:07Speaker 1: In the moment when it's happening, are you thinking, oh
- 59:09Speaker 1: my god, not again? Yeah?
- 59:11Speaker 4: I thought I was gonna fly out of the track,
- 59:13Speaker 4: because when it shows it, if you go back, if
- 59:16Speaker 4: you actually go back to when the car took off,
- 59:18Speaker 4: all I can see is just the sky, and I
- 59:21Speaker 4: know I'm going two hundred miles an hour, right, so
- 59:23Speaker 4: I'm thinking I'm going out of the race straight.
- 59:25Speaker 3: So you could have just as easily been thirty feet
- 59:27Speaker 3: off the ground as four feet off the ground right
- 59:29Speaker 3: there in your mind?
- 59:29Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's.
- 59:32Speaker 2: Who's the driver that bumped he there?
- 59:35Speaker 4: Uh, well, actually I didn't in the first one. It
- 59:39Speaker 4: was actually I love that one. No, so the twenty recks.
- 59:42Speaker 4: Then he comes back across and gets my right front.
- 59:44Speaker 4: So it happened to be around the forty three.
- 59:46Speaker 3: Again, that's never happened like that before, and it hasn't
- 59:50Speaker 3: since the way that the car took off and just
- 59:53Speaker 3: caught air with the nose. Yeah, it'll probably never happen again.
- 59:57Speaker 3: It's good job.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Buddy, It's tough. What is your direction after this?
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: Uh, it's kind of normal.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Well what is it? Okay, let's just potentially we don't
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: know what normal is. When you see a car, especially
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: second Oh my god. Right, well see that's the.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: When, especially the second one, it's kind of like, hey,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: what do we fucking what are we doing?
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: So to most people, if they haven't accent in their life,
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: it's a big deal, right Like for us every weekend
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: there's a chance that we could we can end up wrecking,
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: especially I guess like that. My wife I actually used
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: to race against her, so she's a racer, so she understands,
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: like when you get in a wreck, it's just part
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: of the game. When you strap in.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: So she's saying, walk it off. Yeah, all right, all right,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: let's star.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Yeah, that's it. Make a T shirt, my wife make
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: a T shirt.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: And yeah, my wife makes me. Uh she says, you
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: have to key up the button once it's over. Just
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: let me know you're okay, says I'm on the radio.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: I'm listening if I'm at home wherever it is. And
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: uh so I know that. And uh and while my
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: last flip was not as spectacular, my last one landed
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: upside down and the radio antenna broke off. So I'm
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: in there keying up saying, hey, I'm I'm fine, you know,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: mainly for team Spot wife everybody. And it was like
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: seven minutes. It was it was only the second car
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: to flip with the next gen car, and they couldn't
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: figure out how to flip it back over someth like
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: seven minutes, suspend it upside down. I'm starting to cut
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: jokes in the car on the radio, like I think
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: I'm the funniest guy in the room, right and uh
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: the radio was broke out of the things and no
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: one heard a thing.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Yeah, so everybody, like I'm already in tears thinking we
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: haven't got them on the radio.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: So my wife was in the grandstands at the top
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: right below the condos here at Charlotte and ran down
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: through the tunnel to the infield care center and I
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: came out of there. I was like, are you okay?
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: She's all winded sweating.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: He's uh right at the time, and I was like, yeah,
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: I'm good, are you?
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: Nothing came out of this one.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: No, that was just that's just sitting in the museum
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: now at our shop. For some reason, I thought there
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: was cooler stuff to put in there, but.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Just what not to do on a race?
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Daga. Yeah, Bro, that first one you at uh at Daytona,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: that is.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Crazy insane and it looked like someone just kind of
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: bumped you there.
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: Yeah. No, I mean you get hit the wrong way
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: at a super speedway. Your car could just go flying.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: You might be a good person to answer this question
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: for me when you that first, that first one where
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: it seems like it's an innocent bump. How does NASCAR
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: figure out what's intentional and not intentional? Yeah, that was
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: bumping somebody.
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: I mean that that was one hundred percent just trying
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: to actually push me forward. That he had no intentions
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: to turn me sideways. It was just you know, with
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: depending on if you're in a Toyota Chevrolet Afford, how
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: you hit somebody. So at that time, I don't know
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: if Toyota had different bumpers or if it was a
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: Chevrolet that he was driving at the time. Like Chevy specifically,
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: they have a point on the front of their the
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: center of their nose, and if they would hit you
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: offset to the right a little bit, it's just going
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: to shoot you into the infield. So uh, it was
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: actually really difficult for some of the other OEMs to
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: push at a super speedway and when you're getting down
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: to the final five seven laps of super speedway race,
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: patience goes down to where you're just like trying to
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: figure out a way to get forward. And that's ultimately
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: what happened.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Is it still like that to where cars have like
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: a different bumper on the front, It seems like the
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: point with you an advantage.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Yeah, they got anodynamics, but you're just science.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: Yeah, just science again, just science. The Chevy's got a
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: change this year to where they have a flatter bumper
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: to where they they definitely wind up and they it's
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: more comfortable being in front of them taking pushes now
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: than it was at that point for sure.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: Yeah, was it was there like a big thing that
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: took place for them to change that bumper where why
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: has to do something different here?
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: Well, it seemed like at certain race tracks they'd be
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: good and then when you'd go to super speedway racing
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: there their downfall was they couldn't push like all of
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: us forwards like the Fords, we could lock bumpers down
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: the straightaway and just haul the mail. And I don't
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: know if they changed some of that because of that,
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: but uh, but yeah.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Ford's just the best though.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: He was just trying to baby, just trying to keep
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: up with Ford.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: In your guys' opinion, being a couple racers now, like
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: looking back at the era of the nineties and early
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: two thousands, what do you think needs to take place
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: in this generation or era to get you know, like
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: that When people say get back to stuff.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: Like that, what do you really want to get back
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: to is the question? At times? Right, there was some
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: epic battles at that time, and there are some races
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: that you go back and watch and you're like, man,
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: I wish it was like that every week and then
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: there's other races that that are not talked about anymore,
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: and for good reason, because there was nothing exce about it, right,
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: it got strung out. It was hard to pass at time.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: So we have a way of remembering the highlights, I
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: would say, in a lot of those scenarios, and it's
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: not always the case now that The next problem is
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: we have very smart people in our sport, extremely smart people.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: I don't claim to be one of them, but we
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: have others that work on a race cars that have
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: figured out how to I got a guy, but they
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: figured out that the race cars back then, you know,
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: they were eight inches off the ground in the nose right,
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: and you know they didn't look as sporty. But it
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: put on some great race and we've learned since then.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: You steal the cars off to the racetrack, it makes
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: insane amount of downforce, makes more speed, and ultimately sometimes
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: it doesn't make the racing better, but it's faster. You
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: can't tell our people now that, hey, we want it
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: to look more like this, so why don't you just
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: raise the car up and and make it look like
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: it did back in the night. We can't unlearn what
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: we've gotten.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: To Yeah, as modern racers, does it ever get frustrating
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: hearing about like the prime of NASCAR in that late nineties,
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: early two thousands, Like, you're racing here in twenty twenty six,
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: and you guys are putting a great product out there.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: When you go to the races, you're like, this is
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: amazing to watch. But then there's still these like back
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: in my day type people that are kind of pressing
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: on like, well back then it was more like it
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: was better because of X, Y and Z. Yeah, so it.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: You know, as time goes on, everybody else is going
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: to be talking about their good times, right. I think
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: for me is I want natural rivalries to come back
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: and something to where it's not, i don't know, just
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: a little pure. And I feel like, much like Steve
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: has said, we're heading back in that direction, more raw,
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: and I think that's what sells, to be honest with you,
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: I think seeing the things that as a race fan
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: with Shane and Austin Hill and Zane and Carson hosts
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: of R and the list goes on, letting it naturally
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: play out is what's exciting and then.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Trying to manufacture it correct. Yeah. What what is interesting? Though?
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: So sitting with Jeff Gordon yesterday, and I know there's
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: like documentaries and stuff on some of these old rivalries
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: as well, but it did feel like when jeff'son here
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: recounting a lot of stuff, he wished he had been
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: in on Earnhardt's brain, because Earnhardt is manufacturing some of
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: it and fans are manufacturing some of it to war,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: it is a little bit more theatrical. Whereas the rivalry
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: is true, the competitive nature as far as disliking each
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: other didn't seem like that was necessarily there. And Jeff
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: being young and knowing that Dale might be on the
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: mic before he gets on and be like, oh, what
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: are we gonna celebrate? We're gonna celebrate with milk with
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: this guy instead of beer, the American way, all that
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: kind of stuff, to where some of it did seem
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: a little manufactured and playing into it. Does that even
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: make sense? I am not making any sense. It felt
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: like he was organic, but a lot of it was
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: fan based centric and Dale's like Dale had a brain
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: of thinking, more business savvyteur. Jeff wasn't necessarily in on it,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: and he's like, I wish I kind of would have known,
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: because it would it would boil his blood and he
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: just knew that. Dale's just like getting under his skin.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's the authenticity. You can't have everybody in
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: on what you're trying to do. People are going to
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: try to manufacture a little bit more. Yeah, you always
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: got to have one guy kind of pushing the cart
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: forward of the chaos and the rivalries and stuff like that. Yeah,
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: it's interesting, like the natural rivalries, like it is like
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: fascinating and it is something that we talk about so
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: much on this show. Is we need to get to
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: that like the WWE style UFC where guys are a
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: little more open about saying something a little more pushing
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: and shoving in like a I don't want to say
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: like tasteful way, because it's very difficult to be tasteful
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: in a fight, but just like adding that kind of
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: like oh shit, I wonder what's going to happen next
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: week or this next episode that's going to take place
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: in the reality TV of Nascar.
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: Also, what do you guys have in football anything like that.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: There's rivalries in the sense that like I played for
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: the Titans my whole career, so like AFC South is
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: your rivals like you have the Colts, the Texans and
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: the Jaguars as well, and then you internally will have
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: battles with people and sometimes they'll be public, sometimes it
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: won't be public. But there's so many games taking place
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: and that there's always going to be something to grab
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: and pull in these Oh, Jalen Ramsey and Odell got
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: into it, and look at how viral this situation is.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: That's happening on the West coast and on the East coast,
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: there's a five more things happening for you guys. It's
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: all one isolated event taking place on Sunday, individuals individuals,
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: and it's like, I'm not gonna like turn off this
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: NASCAR event to go turn on that NASCAR events, Like
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: we can watch these three four hours of you guys
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: racing right now, and that's it. So it's much easier
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: for the NFL to go pluck with sixteen games going
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: on on a Sunday afternoon.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you kind of get drafted or recruited or whatever
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: into the robbery that's already existing right when it comes
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: to team dynamic to where it might be take Titans
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: and Jaguars to where you get drafted there and you
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: kind of know, this is the team you got, guys,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: the team that fans love to hate again, So you
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: might just play up your own little theater in your
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: head about making it that much more of our Michigan
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: Ohio state. When a kid comes there from California, they
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: might know about the rivalry, but you don't really understand
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: until you're in those buildings. It's like, this is the
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: fucking game we gotta win. This is where it just elevates,
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: whether it's your personality or your style of play, or
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: the team style of play, feeding off of your fan bases.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: So as your matchups, though, would you have did you
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: ever end up building a rivalry somebody who you were
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: going to be matched up with for a game?
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, especially for my position, he was different
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: because he's like in the center of the defense. He's
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: kind of controlling where everybody's going, and then he's reacting
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: and playing off that. I was left tackle south stationary.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: I'm gonna be in the same place every single time,
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: and a lot of teams would just have one d
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: M that would go against me. So it's like there's
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: multiple games happening in one game. So yeah, for me,
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: it was very easy to have isolated, go back and forth,
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: like we have a rivalry taking place. This is a
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: corner that he and I got into it. But three
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: times when you play the same team twice in three
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: weeks and so this it would be like it would
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: become bigger in your head and based on the media,
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: mugglet what happened the week prior, that would be a
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: bigger deal. But going back to will like when you
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: get to college. I grew up in Arizona, and Arizona
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: is one of the most fair weather fans sports states
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: you'll ever been in your life. Like they unless their
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: teams are good, they're kind of like, yeah, sports are
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: going on, but they're kind of all outside. So when
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: I go to Michigan, I am like I am learning firsthand.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: I'm drinking the kool aid of Michigan and Ohio State.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: This is the game, the biggest robbery in sports, Like,
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: but it's fed to you from the minute you walk
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: in the building to you essentially graduate. When you get
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: drafted in the NFL, it's like we have jobs to do,
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Like the guys have families. I'm getting in there. I'm
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: twenty one years old when I get drafted, and I
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: got the guy in front of me, he's thirty five
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: years old and he's got two kids, and they kind
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: of do their thing and they go home. So it's
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: it's much harder to cause things like this to take place.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: You have to take it upon yourself. And that's that's
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: kind of what I decided to do in this situation, right.
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: Yeah, So how personal does it get for you guys
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: in this in this situation, Like does it get left
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: on the field or does it does it go beyond that?
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: I mean, do you want to speak to that or me?
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: Personally? I never had any that were like beyond the field,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: Like if you're you're getting into any situations, you just
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: you're almost feeding off of the team and the people
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: around you.
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: So when the game ends, it's over.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Yeah okay, Yeah for for myself, speaking for myself.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with that. Like once a game is over,
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: to me, it's like everything that just happened is now
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: a wash, Like we're all good. I was very mouthy.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: I talked a lot of shit, and I would definitely
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: irritate guys, So I could see there was multiple accounts.
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Even my teammates wrell be like no, fuck this guy,
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: Like this guy sucks, and but for me, it was
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: like I enjoyed, like getting under people's skin, having them
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: kind of hate me a little bit, and then after
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: the game they did a good job, but there was
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: a I mean, there's probably a dozen football players out
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: there that think I'm gay because I wouldn't say crazy
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: shit to them, and it just yeah, and after the
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: game they'd be like, are you hey, listen, I'm not,
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: but I was in your head for four course, cand
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: I get them going, so yeah, And I feel like
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: in the individualized.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: Jeffery Starry individualized sport, it's almost like trying to take
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: pages from UFC fighters or the WWE, where it's you're
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: having to sell the fight, you're having to sell yourself.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: So you're having to do things where you're engaging with
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: the fan base, getting the fan base going, then almost
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: speaking to the fan base or acting on behalf of
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: the fan base more than I actually do hate this guy,
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: because you're just trying to forward think on how where
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: some of the manufacturing would play a little bit of
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: a factor in the individual sports, right unless you're just
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: so dominant. It's like, again you think of like Earnharder
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Jeff Gordon I'm kind of talking out on my ass
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: because it's not like I was a NASCAR siko, but
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: guys who were so dominant to our fan base kind
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: of just gets created. When you're younger trying to come
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: up and trying to break through it, there is a
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: part of you that's got to it's got to do
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: something that would cut through to build your own little
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: like build the astronaut t shirt, like capitalizing on moments,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: the kind of build your personality because you don't have
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: something that you're getting drafted into per se unless you're
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: part of you get signed with RFK or Henrick Hendricks,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: the big name that kind of comes across when you're
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: for them, they kind of have a baked in They
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: kind of have the baked in fan base. So where
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: then you you know how to leverage yourself with your
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: fan base to go after another team.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: There's a whole different game to be played.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Different, Yeah, totally a lot of ours.
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: We don't We don't talk a lot of shit to
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: each other, Yeah, because talking a lot of ship can
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: end up having you get wrecked pretty quick.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: And you don't get to banter during right. It becomes
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: physical with race cars, which doesn't just affect you versus
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: the other driver, it's your entire team, right, It's definitely
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: if you cut a tire down just because you're bantering
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: back and forth, you're you're going to ruin your day. Essentially.
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: There's definitely got to be a fine line to be
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: played there because just having a mis steve on him
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: talking about how you guys as individuals, like your brands
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: are what also keeps the ship of NASCAR, especially the
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: day and age with living now, you said, like I
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: don't even know what you tweet at or do whatever. Twitter.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: It's like that is a huge machine now that you
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: guys can use to your advantage to get paid more money,
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: to have people more interested, all all those things. So
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: it it's like an untapped world kind of taking place,
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: and like in a world that's more like, hey, we're
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: not about the bullshit, we're about racing, We're about all this.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: So it's like an interesting world you guys kind of
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: have to Yeah, is colliding whether you like it or not.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: And there's just so much much more parody in your guys' sport,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: Like if you you know again, if you're if you're
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: speaking toward like a fighter, UFC fighter, and you know
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: you're dominant as fuck. Like everything in between the match,
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: the pre the build up, the post, you kind of
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: talk your shit however you believe it's your confidence level.
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: There's almost an element in racing to where the times
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: to do it would be in between races, or you're
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: on the podcast or you're doing the things, to where
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: you can build it up any way you want. But
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: there's also such a risk factor because there is so
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: much parody tour. If you don't show up, it's a
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: full bet on yourself, and there's so much more parody
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: in your guys' field, to where I kind of seem
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: obnoxious if I would talk a little shit right here,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Whereas if you're the champion of the world and you
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: know it's just one on one and like, yeah, this
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: dude ain't gonna he's not gonna mess with my stuff.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: You're gonna be able to build it up and promote
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: it the way you want to say. Yeah, for sure,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: we kind of just cooked right there in our little brainstorm.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: I feel like we did possible. I feel we're out there.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: It's really just for the audience. Did you guys ever
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: get nervous racing like I feel. Every racer I talked
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: to is like, no, when I get the race day,
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: it's just like, yeah, we'll go race. I'll find how
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: competitive I am in the first lap.
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: You know, the only time I've ever been nervous was
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: actually because you're you're going to talk about this in
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: a second. Is the Crown Vix when Chris, Brad, myself,
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: Cletus and and uh We're out at Talladega and this
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: is all during Brad's recovery and we're going one hundred
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: and sixty miles an hour in a Crown Vic at Talladega.
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: And I remember we were we were hitting the nitrous
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: buttons down the straight away to go as fast as
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: we can. I'm sitting here thinking like because Brad's leading
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: the pack, I'm like, we're gonna kill our team owner here, Like,
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: this is the wildest thing I've ever done in my life.
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: Have you ever been in a Crown Vic.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: I've been in a Crown Vic.
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: On front seater, back seat.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: It's very once in a back seat, I'll do honest
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: about that. But you know, mostly passenger princess with vic,
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: which is nice. Yeah, that's that's gotta be terrifying because
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: there's gotta be a level of safety. You'd be like,
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: all right, got the nets, I got the fire set on.
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: I feel good. I'm not seatbelt, I'm clicked in here.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: These crown Vics are just raw dogging correct, Like.
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: My man, uh no that I mean they're they're safeish
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: like that.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: I don't feel like you're safe at all.
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: But my man, like, you're going one hundred and forty
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: one hundred and fifty miles an hour at Talladay got
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: in a quote pretty much a stock crown Vic that
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: just has a cage in it and a bottle of nitrous.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: And this is this is Kletus is set up correct? Yes,
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: so Klidas does this every single year. Travis Pistrada was
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: telling is this what he was telling us about?
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: Yep, he said we need to come out and do it.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: And I think in my head like.
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: Yeah, y'all need to do it.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it sounds terrifying.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Like if you're talking about it as a racer crown
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: Vic nitrous.
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: Well, it's a lot of fun. It's like the adult
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: version of a goat krt. Right, So when you go
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: to a go kart track and it's got a six
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: and a half horsepower engine on it and you're driving around. Yeah,
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: it's fun. But driving around in a four thousand pounds missile,
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: as Kleatus calls at around a racetrack is the most
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: fun you'll ever have as a race car driver.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: Super how bad at the recks? Guys pretty nice about it?
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: Or what we don't have that happened?
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: We Yeah, we avoided that in this particular instance.
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: Would you do that? Should you?
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: Look? What is tandem mean? Okay? Got you? Yeah? I mean,
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: I guess I don't know what I don't know.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: I guess the answer is I feel being the pusher
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: because it's a raw driver.
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: Tandem is if I'm out there so much.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: Just saw my back end like buddy, come on, shaking.
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: There was shaking, bake in that moment.
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: There was definitely it was.
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: Uh, that was just the wildest thing you can ever
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: do as a race car driver.
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: If someone gave me like three or four days with
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: a professional and was like, this is how you should
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: do X, Y and Z, this is how you you know,
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: push somebody draft all the that, and I got just
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: a quick general studies degory on it, I think I'd
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: have a lot more fun doing it. But if you're like, hey,
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: just show up here, I think it's November thirteenth this
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: year and go race Talladay getting Crown Vicks. You know,
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: I don't know if that foot is hitting the ground,
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: if you know what I mean. When it comes to
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: the gas at first.
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: Oh yeah, unless.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: You're just by yourself and you just hit the straightaway.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: The boys are either upfront or you're having to be leading,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: and it's like a little bit.
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: And that's kind of how it was when we showed
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: up to Talladega and they were like, oh yeah, you're
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: gonna go out on the racetrack and Crown Vix with
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: Kletus and all this. When we pulled off Pitt Road,
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't drive these things all the time.
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: I don't know how they're gonna feel. So we pull
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: off Pitt Road and we're getting up the speed and
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: all of a sudden, I see Chris's head fly back
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: because Cletus just came and absolutely bump drapped the hell
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: out of them.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: And I'm talking like.
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: Probably would have set airbags off if they'd have been
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: hooked up.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: No way. Yeah yeah, So it's a cage no, and
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: then the rest of its stock that's it, and how
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: many laps are you all hitting?
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: It was?
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: Really probably did what twenty or twenty five?
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: We overheated a car every four or five laps?
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: Oh no, s hyeah from.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: Pushing a little too tight, not getting any air to it.
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: And how long is this? So you guys are all
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: just looks like the Blue Angels right there.
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: Effort right here as a team effort.
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it looks like the one of the.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Backs kind of locking it up a little bit.
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: Come on, I was working on it.
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: You're just kind of behind.
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: So I mean, I'm trying to push. I'm trying not
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: to push on corner entry, for one, which is about
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: where this is filmed.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: Going to corner entry, I think, well, and I wouldn't
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: even know that.
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: So we want to connect on corner on exit and
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: everyone be as straight as possible, hit bumpers and hold
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: on right hit the nitrous and tandem. Well, I guess
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: it's I don't know what's quantum? Quantum?
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: Yea quantum. That's a real word.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: I didn't graduates, don't look at you. Just you try
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: and get that straight away. Right when you get to
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: the corner, you cannot you cannot go as fast because
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: you are scrubbing speed out and it is a little
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: sketchier at that point.
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: It's a lot sketchy, but much Oh my god, you
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: want to know what? So I just did? Uh? I
- 1:21:00Speaker 4: did a race in in New England on this past Friday,
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: and it was a Crown Vic race with with all
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: those guys like Cleaves, McFarlane he's got all his buddies
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: and uh Vaughan getting who's a professional drifter, and you know,
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: the list goes on. And we were doing this race
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: and you're just out there, you're hitting your nitro spot
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: and you're sliding into each other. You're hitting each other
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: for normal people. That's not exciting for a race car
- 1:21:25Speaker 4: driver where we aren't supposed to like absolutely harpoon. And
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: when I say harpoon, I mean like punt, like punt
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: people bump them.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: Where you can just go out and have free rein
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: and do that and not get in trouble. It's great.
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: That was a lot of fun.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Each other.
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's of a Sunday cruise, right, it's not as competitive,
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: like you're still gonna compete, but it's it's almost easy.
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: You're going so slow. I haven't actually done the race yet,
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: but yeah, it's always seems like it's just fun. Right.
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: You get to play around and get moved around, and
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: almost you almost feel like you're cheating because you're a
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: little bit more qualified than others around. Either.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: Yeah, give me a little breakdown on this Cleidas McFarland fellow,
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: because when we started this, I had like ten friends
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: reach out to me, like you got to get Cleatis
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: McFarlane on this guy. His YouTube channel is incredible. I
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: wasn't savvy to his game, but like, how what was
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: this guy's come up? How close are we with this
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: Cleatis guy?
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: So I've just gotten to do some of these events
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: with him, but I can appreciate his story of how
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: he started to where his channel has grown. And you know,
- 1:22:27Speaker 4: I was a big fan of thirteen twenty video, which
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: is a you know, car street racing YouTube channel, and
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: so he was a videographer on there, and he on
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: one episode there was a there was a he ended
- 1:22:43Speaker 4: up doing his own little joking skit and that's how
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: Kleatus McFarland was born and that's how his channel ended
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: up happening. So he could obviously go way more into
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: detail on his own story, but I can appreciate it,
- 1:22:56Speaker 4: and it's just it's absolutely wild see what it was
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: to what it is now and uh so yeah, it
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: seems like, yeah, it's wild. They're all a bunch of
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: great people.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: Sounds like he's like kind of like the modern day
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: Nitros circus Travis ast and a crew. They're always like
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: kind of doing making fun things. And don't they have
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: like insane gifts or like like whoever wins? Like somebody
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: got a jet or something of that, and they.
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: Actually so when I will, I won one of them,
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: and I got this like this massive box o tools,
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: Like if you're a car guy and you want, you know, wrenches,
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: everything you need from a tools, all the tools and
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: then box, like I want all this great stuff.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Yeah, would you consider yourself more of like a tool
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: guy or more of an animal guy.
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: I'm a tool guy.
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: Your wife's an animal animal animal guy?
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Yeah, because.
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: Freeload is an elite names on that.
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: Thanks.
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: How many animals do we have now?
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: A lot which I don't know how many? My favorites.
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: A donkey. His name is Lucky, but he's not lucky
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: at all. Yeah, so there's Lucky. Yeah, we got we
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: have four horses, a pony, a mini horse, a few ducks.
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: I had a turkey, had to put it down. I
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: have a pit bull. He's the best dog in the world. Actually, Emma,
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: his wife, is the reason that we found my dog.
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: Really yeah, when we were first teammates.
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, she's ah. She has a habit. If anybody
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: mentions they even think they want a dog, she will
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: make it happen almost instantly, so be warned there. And
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: uh yeah, So.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: What happened with the turkey was it just was it.
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: Was a boy, Yeah, yeah, but it was just it
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: couldn't stand up anymore, and you know, trying to tot
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: in North Carolina and it wasn't doing well. So yeah,
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: that was that was it? Well, yes I did, I'm sensitive.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: Yeah, good.
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: Just usually put the shotgun up and it's like it's time.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: What was his name, Gobbler?
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: No, lurky lurky lurky turkey.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: I like that. Which one is your least favorite?
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: Choose your words carefully.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: So you know, I have like ten animals at my
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: house too. We have a little farm kind of like this,
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: not really horses, dude. I have horses in Arizona, and
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: every single day I'm like, when are we going to
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: sell these horses. Yeah. I grew up on a ranch,
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: and so I just I watched too many people just
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: think they're going to make a bunch of money on
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: horses and then lose their ass on it. And so
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: my wife exactly, she wanted to get the horses, and
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: I'm like, hey, listen, I'm telling you. She's like, no,
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: did this one and then you breed it and it
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: wins a raining thing, and then do that and I
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: promise we're gonna make our money back.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: They make it seem very profitable.
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: I don't know if you had this experience, but did
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: horse people just growing up? But horse people are some
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: of the slightest of hand people you'll meet. They're a
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: little skivy, you know what I'm saying. So it's just
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: a it's a snake oil. Yeah, there's snake oil. Everything's this,
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: it's always something. And then all that, then you had
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: a horse who's you know, kalalicky and has a bunch
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: of issues. What the fuck is going on here? But anyway,
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: your least for animal summer.
- 1:26:10Speaker 4: The ones, Yeah summer, because that's the one that breaks
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: all the fence posts, all the boards.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: I hate I hate to.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: Crazy.
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: She's crazy.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: You do you ride it all or you just got it?
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: Really I've probably rode like three or four times.
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: Yeah not not uh not for me. Yeah, you know,
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: I enjoy it.
- 1:26:32Speaker 4: I love I love that. It makes my wife happy.
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: But because they have a mind of their own right.
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: As a race car driver, I'm in control of that
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: race car. As much as you think you're in control
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: of that animal, you're not. It's twelve hundred it's twelve
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: hundred pounds. Like it's gonna do what it wants with you.
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just gonna decide when it's you're done riding it. Yeah,
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: Oh there's lurky. Don't love, don't love. Yeah, if you
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: could have one animal to add to your phone, what
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: animal would it be?
- 1:27:00Speaker 4: Probably cow?
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: Mini cow, Island cows kind of rip hun uh.
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: Huh god, what's the deal with the mini cows?
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: Uh? This this is but pull up, pull up? Highland cow.
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: They got they got that. Where are you look to them?
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: They're awesome?
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: It looks so cool.
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: Yeah, they got Chris.
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: Busher was an animal. I would expect him to be
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: a highland cow just because yeah, yeah.
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: Short the high liked guys. Rippeddude, I just for me,
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: it's the responsibility of animals. I'm like, I like animals,
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: but I'm kind of getting over having animals really, Yeah, dude,
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: it's just too much chickens, goats, bunnies, dogs, Yeah, we
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: got bunnies.
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: How many?
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: Just too just too off that way. Yeah. No, it
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: was like a I think it was my daughter's like
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: fifth birthday or something like that, my oldest daughter, and
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: we did like a little this this I think it
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: was called Ginger Farms. Chris, a bunch of like petty
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: like a bunch of animals and a couple of themyre like, yeah,
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: we're kind of actually looking for to find homes. You
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: can have two of them for free, And I'm like no,
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: my wife's like yes. So then we had two try
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: to get a couple more. They didn't make it ri ip,
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: but these two did. They just keep living. They just
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: keep doing it every winter. I'm thinking maybe every summer.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: I'm thinking maybe they just are resilient creatures, dude.
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: So there's a similar story. Actually, So my wife at
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: Christmas goes like we're standing there, we're talking. All of
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: a sudden she's looking at her phone. She goes, uh, oh,
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: looks at her mother and I'm like, what do you mean.
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: She's like, well, I put in this application for this
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: guinea pig that needed to be adopted, and our application
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: got accepted. And I said, huh okay, so we're just
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: gonna do these things without asking each other. Now, Yeah,
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: next thing, I knew I had a race car. She
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: wasn't impressed.
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: What crazy? Yeah, this goes back to the prank. So
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: you just took it five times too far. She can
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: take guinea pig. She gets a two dollars and sixty
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: cent animal from pet Smart. You're like, I'm gonna buy
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: a race car that's exact, and now we're even You.
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: Know what happens to that race car if you don't
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: feed it or go out and look at it for
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: three weeks at a time.
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: Nothing, absolutely nothing, little dust, little dust, get charger on
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: that thing a day, no problem. Give me a pig, dude.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: You look at it the wrong way that things have
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: a little seizure falling apart.
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: I have a I have a pig out in Nebraska. Yeah, earl, earl,
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: he does what I did. Some heartbreaking stuff happened this week,
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: and I'll let you have the floor on that, oh,
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: this isn't necessarily and so this this family reached out
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: their Husker fans and they were asking if I could
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: donate so their kid could get a pig out of Nebraska.
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: He just wanted to raise it, like take it to
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: some bears and stuff like that. And you know, me
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: and Jerry were just kind of chuckling, and I'm like, dude,
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: let's get let's let's give him some money to go
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: get his pig. And they've just I'm just thinking, I'm
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: giving him money to go get a pig. And they've
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: updated us without us, as in, she's updated us the
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: whole time. And apparently Earl. I was like, I'll get
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: the pig if you name him Earl. I want to say,
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: I gave a few different options for naming the pig,
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: and they're like, well name them Earle. So lay by
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: this pig, Earl, who doesn't come from apparently what do
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: they call it, generational generational show pigs.
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: He does or does not.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: Earl doesn't come from generational show pig, a generational show
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: pig family. He comes from the mud. So they get Earl.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: They we beef him up a little bit, get him
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: on the PDS. And I'm making that up. But he
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: goes and does a fair out in Nebraska this weekend.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: He got fourth in his weight class. They beef him
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: up to like two hundred and fifty plus pounds, and
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: so I got to pick somewhere out in Nebraska an
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: investment pig. I'm like an angel investor for this kid.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: But he's out there having fun raising his pig and
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: showing it in fairs, and I've grown to kind of
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: They update U with photos and I've kind of just
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: grown to kind of love the pig. He's not mine
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: ownly got to take care of him. I hope he
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: does well, and people are like, oh no, they're probably.
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: Gonna so, yeah, what happens at the end.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: I don't know Earl that he doesn't become bacon.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: If they do send us some.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: I think he can be your pet when they're done showing.
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: When he gets too big, I think think you can.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: Just keep kids bought in like that's his boy, Like
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Earl's his boy, and so I hope Earl lives a
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: long life.
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: You know what we should do. We should double down
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: and go get the best pig so this this boy
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: can win his thing. He can go get first place.
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: I don't even know the firs. I don't know if
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: they do like pig drills or something to show them off.
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: You've never seen. Was it Charlotte's Web?
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: I mean several times.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: I kind of get him. They get them all they
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: you know, they think and stuff like that. I think
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: he had a grease smut make him look nice.
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: The Towaday nights of the Pig Show.
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: There's there's untapped potential here, dude. I had a pig
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: in college. His name was doctor Hamle. With the third
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: he did, he was I didn't do good with the hoofs.
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: He was confined this old carpet space. He got very
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: aggressive and territorial and he would burrow into this blanket.
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: It's just pigs are kind of high maintenance.
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I have no again, you know your boy, I'm
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: hands off, but I get these updates. I mean, look
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: at this update results from the show. Fourth in his
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: weight class from market borrows is it borrows, burrows, barrels, barrows,
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: and came out with the blue ribbon. In showmanship, they
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: only ranked the top person. Unfortunately he didn't get that rank. However,
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: he fought to the very end, and that's all I
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: needed to know that. Yeah, I'm glad this pig. This
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: pig seems like he's in good hands with a good team.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: He went up against lifetime generational show pig families. We
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: are so proud of Earl and Skyler. It was a
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: battle and they fought for it. Now to look forward
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: to next year.
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: See see all, I'm here and there is We had
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: to take down those generational families like bust.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: Went the boys.
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: He's getting the pig game.
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: Yeah, Earl's no, he's not. He's not a privileged pig.
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: Maybe you guys want to jump in as well?
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: Do you think release that was a pretty good one.
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: Fall to the man, like, I don't even know how
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: they fight to the very end.
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: Probably that kind of makes it sound like Earl's and
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: alonger with us.
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: It was a good scene.
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: That looks like the shoulders of Kirk Herb Street's Golden Retriever.
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: The handlers too, how focused they are, and then look.
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: At that thing. Would you guys just sit in investing
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: in a pig with us?
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: Somebody who's walking out driver intros like that. I just
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: feel like you win.
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: You Yeah, so I get a pig name Mastern.
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: I know too, much about this world.
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: You know, I didn't do this, Yes, what happened the
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: story for Earl?
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: I have a very good friend who's uh whose kids
- 1:33:20Speaker 3: showed pigs and did extremely well. And uh, I just
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: want to point out that if you want to invest
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: and you want to take home top prize, you're gonna invest.
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: Oh ship for real? Uh huh. I thought it would
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: be like maybe a five k each kind of thing.
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: This is a six figure pig.
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: There's a good chance.
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: Yes, really, so we're doing generational show.
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: So if you want to invest, don't don't throw my
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: name into the hat on you're out on that place.
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: Seems like a good blue room, seems like a good dealer.
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: If that was a five thousand dollars, no.
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: No, it was like I don't even know. I want
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: to say, like in the hundred Oh my god, it
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: was like a few hundred dollars.
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: Yeah, he's but Earl's clearly like he doing way better
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: than anybody expected him to when he came out of
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: the pig loom.
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: He's undrafted, Yeah, he's undrafted.
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: He's a neck up type of pig. Yeah, neck up
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: type of peg man.
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: Six figures sunk into these pigs.
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: What do they win though? Like what do you win?
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: I win some some trailers some uh, you get some
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: money out of it, get a couple of grand here
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: or there.
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: And then you like what breed the bigger, sell the sperm.
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: It sounds a similar horse community there.
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: There's probably some time in there, and then for for
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: the kids, it's a lot of career opportunities or or
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: schooling opportunities come out of it.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: The size of these pigs Earl's way behind those are monsters.
- 1:34:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's the cream of the crop right there.
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: Those are six figure pigs. Yeah, that's a big money
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: walking around there a lot. If you guys can invest
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: in one unique thing, what would it be like, what's
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: something you're like? It'd be fun to like we're talking
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: about a pig right now. If you want to invest
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: in like maybe a buddy restaurant or maybe your own
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: racing team someday hm hm nasa nasa.
- 1:35:04Speaker 4: We change it to Ryan, just like my hat. Yeah
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: you know what I mean, I don't know what do
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: you think you go first? Let me think, Yeah, I
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: don't have a good answer. It's you said, there's no
- 1:35:14Speaker 4: bad ideas. But I've been warned about the restaurant business
- 1:35:18Speaker 4: and uh and I will say I've watched Brad run
- 1:35:21Speaker 4: around and and try to stay afloat trying to own
- 1:35:25Speaker 4: a race team. And I have zero desire to own
- 1:35:27Speaker 4: a race team. I just want to show up and
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: put my helmet on and go race and not worry
- 1:35:33Speaker 4: about the day to day stuff because that looks stressful
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: amongst other things. So yeah, on the investment side of things,
- 1:35:41Speaker 4: we got to.
- 1:35:44Speaker 3: It would not be in racing. I guess yeah, I
- 1:35:47Speaker 3: I'd go I'd go build hot rods. I think that
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: would be kind of back to roots and something that
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: Dad would be uh will be in on as well.
- 1:35:56Speaker 4: I was expecting you to say, like construction company, because
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: you're always in your skins tier riding around your property
- 1:36:02Speaker 4: digging something already clear and brush and all.
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: Was digging rocks up in mowing all day yesterday.
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: That's what I mean, Like, just stuff like that I
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: I already have.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: So, like racing wise, I have my own little short
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: track team with my father and so we have all
- 1:36:15Speaker 4: the equipment for that. But you know, I've I've joked
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: about maybe having like like those twenty five yard containers
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: where you could you know, pick them up, chop them
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: off the people's houses, they could dump all their junk
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: in there and then and then, uh, you know, be
- 1:36:33Speaker 4: the guy that that has like ten or fifteen of those.
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: So that would be kind of cool.
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: Dude, different, This was very lucrative.
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: Yeah, that's too.
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: I've got a design that makes Yeah, you already have
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: a pink due you do. I mean you just just
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: roll it right into the dumpsters butterfly dumpsters, I don't know, butterfly. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: we'll work on that. Made the worst purchase.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: The worst person, which, as you guys have made worst.
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: Purchase are the worst financial decision.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: Go ahead, let's do both.
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: Well. My first vehicle, after my first my first I
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: guess real contracted racing, I went and bought a went
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: bought an O eight f two fifty, and I have
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: blown that thing up four times. I continue to throw
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: money at it, rebuild it, and blow it up again.
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: I have not done the engine work myself, so I
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: know that sounds like I'm not mechanically inclined. I am
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: just really hard on stuff as well, but I am.
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: I am six figures into a vehicle that's worth maybe
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: eighteen grand a day.
- 1:37:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like that's normal story for a racer. Man.
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: Everything every bad decision for us is cars. So mine was.
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: I had a twenty thirteen Mustang that had, you know,
- 1:37:54Speaker 4: first contracting cop. I said, oh, man, I have one
- 1:37:56Speaker 4: hundred and twenty thousand miles on this thing because I
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: would drive it up and down East Coast. I'm gonna
- 1:38:00Speaker 4: pull it out and put a motor in it. Well,
- 1:38:02Speaker 4: that motor turned into our I'm gonna put turbos on it,
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: and then it turned into a wide body and I
- 1:38:07Speaker 4: probably the same thing as you. I was north of
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: like one hundred and twenty thousand into this Mustang that
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: wasn't worth anything, and I didn't even sell it. I
- 1:38:14Speaker 4: ended up just parting out parts and then you know,
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: scrapping the chassis.
- 1:38:20Speaker 2: So no ship.
- 1:38:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: I parked mine in the field for three years. When
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: it blew up the last time, I was so sick
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: of it, but I couldn't come to part with it,
- 1:38:28Speaker 3: so it just it was housing for the local rodents.
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but you got any questions about Buddy, nothing for you,
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: Jackie boy, other Jackie Boy.
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna say, you gotta ask you gotta
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: ask Jack over here, I producer. He's usually got one
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: that comes in.
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: From the something.
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: Oh, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, what's one thing that
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: Steve o'donald could be better at his job at?
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: But there you go, Jack, the hard Hitting's a great.
- 1:39:00Speaker 4: Question, Ryan, I honestly think Steve o'donald does a great job.
- 1:39:04Speaker 4: I'm a huge fan of everything that we've been doing,
- 1:39:08Speaker 4: and I appreciate the flight out here today.
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: Answer Chris coming Haymaker, good cut back.
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: I think I think he should change his name to
- 1:39:19Speaker 3: Steve O and just come on a little nickname. So
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: if we can just put that on all the name
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: tags and just commit to that, that would be fun.
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: Steve is a good name, Steve the CEO, Steve O
- 1:39:31Speaker 4: the CEO, Steve O the CEO.
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: That should be his Twitter handle, that should be a handle.
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: Still you hear that?
- 1:39:38Speaker 4: Not listening Steve?
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:39:40Speaker 4: He laughed, Pane already, Oh is he there?
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: You go?
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: You can.
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: Real answer?
- 1:39:47Speaker 4: No, Honestly, I've liked the whole brand that we went
- 1:39:50Speaker 4: into this year with the whole you know, hell yeah thing,
- 1:39:54Speaker 4: So I don't I'm just a fan of racing, like
- 1:39:59Speaker 4: I love everything about what it is, rivalries, the pureness
- 1:40:02Speaker 4: of it. And I feel like we we as a group,
- 1:40:06Speaker 4: much like Steve was talking about communication with the drivers,
- 1:40:10Speaker 4: I feel like that's better than it's ever been so,
- 1:40:12Speaker 4: or at least where I'm I'm standing because years and
- 1:40:16Speaker 4: years ago, you know, I didn't live the Dale Earnhart,
- 1:40:19Speaker 4: Jeff Gordon era. But do you know who Mike Helton is?
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: No, you ever heard of him?
- 1:40:23Speaker 4: Mitch has Yeah, So Mike Helton was like the guy
- 1:40:27Speaker 4: right and he was the guy that if you did
- 1:40:30Speaker 4: something wrong, you'd go in the trailer and he'd cuss,
- 1:40:32Speaker 4: you know, he'd let you know it. And but there
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: was a mutual respect of understanding, Hey, we're here to race,
- 1:40:38Speaker 4: but we're here to put on a show. And I
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: feel like we're closer than ever to being at that.
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: That guy.
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: God.
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a Reddit page Mike Helton without his mustache.
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: That's how how you people have seen them without that?
- 1:41:01Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: Well, fellas, do we appreciate you coming on the show,
