- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is presented by Yahoo Fantasy.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_02]: Hello!
- 0:10[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the MMQB NFL podcast.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's out of the rear.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Connor Orr.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_02]: We had football on a weekend and I know that Albert Scott is Ohio State's stuff on.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's feeling good.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: I did not wear my Notre Dame stuff feeling a little less good.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: But I will say this.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: Um, the quarterback that we had to face in our season opener was like twenty six years old.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, he's already got a fully vested pension in four one.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_02]: K Albert so high on state.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: But guys beat up on a poor child.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I forget his name.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: You know, this poor, this poor kid.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so a little bit different in terms of quality of of opponent this week.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: How was it?
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: You were there.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: It was awesome.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was my, it was my, my sons, my two sons first game.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_02]: which was a high-lessed Texas is not bad.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we were down in the field all the it was honestly like all the guys from last year's team were down there and they were all like unbelievable to the kids and you know my son actually so quick story like my son got to go to the Patriots commanders practice and
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: you know when they were when the when the commanders were up here and I was still on my camp trip but they got to do some cool stuff out there but the one thing that he he didn't get to do was meet one of his favorite players is Terry McLaren so is like the one piece of disappointment from another wise like unbelievable day in August
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: And so he got to meet Terry on the field before Ohio State Texas, which was a a real highlight for him.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like so, and Terry was awesome with him as he'd expect.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Terry's an unbelievable guy.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: And then the other one was, and this is a, this is a good story.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: My younger son's name is Drew, which means his name is Drew Brear, which is one letter away from Hall of Fame quarterback, right?
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't intentional, but it just sort of worked out that way.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: So Emily, we're down in the field.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I drew and I had a relationship when he was playing.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: Emily was like oh my god Drew breezes over there and I like Drew anybody's been around Drew knows like he he kind of like he looks like a regular guy he does yes he's not one of these guys it's like six foot five so it'd be very easy to miss him so I was actually impressed that that Emily Emily saw him and so M was very very much like we need to get Drew Brear a picture with Drew Breeze
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: So Drew is a real good sport about that and everybody was great.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: It was awesome.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: The atmosphere is unbelievable.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like the map Patricia redemption game.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think we can call it wow.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, finally gets one of those mad.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: Maddie P did an unbelievable job.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I guess it's the Patriot thing is the mannings right, but
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: Arch will be fine.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: Don't you think like I don't know like I like just being in the stadium like I know he missed some throws, but I actually thought like based on like the amount that got was getting thrown at him.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: And you think about this right?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: There's probably a handful of first round picks on Ohio State's defense.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a Super Bowl winning defensive coordinator who, like you, you don't have any college tape on him.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like so you think about like an ultra talented defense with an ultra experienced coordinator coming in and there's no tape.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: And so I personally think art is going to be fine.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think like the, it is like pretty hilarious hearing the same people who are building them up to being the first pick in the draft after two starts against UTSA and Mississippi State to be the number one pick in the draft or now the guy, people who are calling them overrated and tearing them down.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I guess that's the way that the,
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's just the environment that you and I work in now, right?
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: So here we are.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: I've always thought and I have my jokes about him if anyone wants to understand him a little bit better.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: I would highly suggest reading Mike Rosenberg from our, our magazine.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: He had a piece on arch in the football preview issue about how uncomfortable he is with his place in the world in terms of being a famous person that has not earned any bit of it.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: And, and how uncomfortable he's been with this idea for the totality of his life.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's the whole famous for being famous thing, right?
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's for that and thing.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm,
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: you know for an NFL Sunday if Dom Brady has a bad game and he's thirty eight and okay that's fair game for me right I never thought and and I will I will tease arch because I think it's there's a good nature teasing that can happen there but I do think like that there is something that needs to be done in terms of allowing this kid to grow up in football in a somewhat sane way and of course
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: a large swath of America is not going to eat to that, but that's kind of my personal code, which is still going to take his lumps and Texas probably should have never been number one to begin with.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: Let's be real.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_02]: I mean Ohio State.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was just two really good defenses like that's what I mean that's the way I look at it like I
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: I talked to scouts about, they obviously know where I went to school.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: When you're kind of shooting the shit with them before a training camp practice or whatever, it'll come up.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: The one thing I got from scouts who'd been through those two places over the course of summer was the defense was absolutely kicking the offenses ass and both spots.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: I went in, I was asked on a radio show last week, what do you expect them like?
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: I expect a rock fight.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: you know, I think it's gonna be fourteen to ten and I was pretty close, you know.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's just sort of like, I think that that was sort of the game that the way the two rosters are, I think that game should like was expected.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: I also think like, don't you think all this sort of validates the way the Cooper raised arch?
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I totally.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean like, he, I'll say this like, I've never met, I've never met Arch Manning.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: Everything I've heard about him has been overwhelmingly positive.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I was out to dinner during the Combine with Quinn Eures.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: And Quinn Eures had every reason in the world to hate Archmany.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: Every reason that he's coming in to take my he's coming in as the number one recruit with that last name.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: And like last year that like when Quinn was playing through injury, there was a lot of like most should arts be playing.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: Should arts be playing.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: So every reason the world to hate him.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: And Quinn loves him.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: And that to me says a lot about Archmage.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like when when I heard Quinn talk about Arch in those terms, I was like, all right.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like so I don't know if this guy, kids are going to grow into being the number one pick in the draft.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: But it seems like he's a pretty good guy.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and so I think like there were things in that game where you saw and this come back comes back to what I'd heard like this was going to be a tough go for both young quarterbacks.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: I actually think like he made some high level throws in the fourth core of the touchdown, the one down the sideline to the tight end of the last possession.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like it wasn't perfect, but like I think he showed some resilience and some toughness.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: And he made some things happen with his feet.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's gonna be fine.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like now it does that mean he's gonna be the one picking the draft.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: And no one could have known that either after two starts last year against two teams on schedule.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: No one could have known that last year.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like coming out of last year, people putting them at the top of the draft,
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: Can you say of one other example of a player with two college stars being projected to be the number one pick of the draft?
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the thing.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_02]: And maybe other kids don't get this benefit of the doubt.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: And maybe I feel like oddly protective because I'm in a different place in my life than some of these other fans who people were consuming this.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's twenty-one.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's twenty-one.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: And while I will say this, there was a true freshman at Notre Dame who was who was cooking at quarterback this weekend, and was a little bit younger than that.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we'll be... No, he's a registered freshman, isn't he?
- 8:54[SPEAKER_02]: Right, she's a registered freshman.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_02]: Right, she's a registered freshman.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, yeah.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_02]: Why met when he was in eighth grade at a quarterback showcase, by the way.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_02]: Holy balls.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: Does that make me feel good?
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, when he was in eighth grade,
- 9:05[SPEAKER_02]: In eighth grade at a quarter, I was at like a like a version of this elite eleven thing, you know, and he was there throwing for scouts.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Boy cars.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: Boy cars grandson and I talked to Lloyd about him not too long ago.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: I actually got chance to catch up with him and it's
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: it's crazy to me that I think back at myself at twenty one just like barely evading arrest for like stealing a yard sign and then we have these kids who are like operating high level college football teams
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: just like, you know, after our one game for arch banding, I'm like, all right, I'll check him with the M. Week six.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure you're going to.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I mean, here's the other thing too.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I, I, I've, over the last couple of years, I've kind of like trained, I think to my myself to like look at these things a little bit differently, too, and like, there's that whole thing like where,
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think when Brock Party had the success he had as a rookie with the Niners, it caused a lot of like teams to go back and look at how they're evaluating quarterbacks and a lot of teams leaned in to the experience thing, you know, and like that baseline of twenty five starts.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like the you should have at least twenty five starts under your belt before you go into the NFL.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: Now it's not been the case with everybody, but it has been a pretty decent marker for success versus failure.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: Among guys going from cost the pros as far as their readiness So why is it twenty five stars well the reason why is because
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to over that time accumulate a library in your head of things that you've seen, different coverages, different looks, different ways of team attacking you.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're also going to have gone through this process of teams learning you, right?
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like so now a defense of coordinators are going to have five games of tape on you.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to have ten games of tape on you.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: And they're going to learn about these little things that they can do to pick at you and to make you uncomfortable and having
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: And having you play, and having you play left hand and so to speak, right?
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like they're going to force you to do things that maybe you're not at your best at.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: And can you counter punch?
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: And there's this process that game a cat mounts that every quarterback has to go through.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: After two starts, where Arch Manning was barely touched, how is anything going to know what Arch Manning is going to be?
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: Just as not even as an NFL player, but as a prospect, as an NFL pro.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know, and that was why it was always ass-in-ine, the idea that, you know, like you're projecting him to be the number one pick in the draft.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Now, because of how he, because of the level of recruiting was, because of the town he has,
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: if like if his last name was Smith, Texas people would be excited about like what he could do.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: I just pulled it up again.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there wouldn't be this national hysteria.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there wouldn't be this projection of him being a first round pick.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: There would be like, okay, this kick can really become something.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what he'd shown us.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like he'd shown us like he really has some ability to become something.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: but we don't know much more beyond that.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: And he'll learn from this, you know what I mean?
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I just, I don't know, like I wrote it in May, like I think it's just insane to have this idea that this guy was the number one pick in the draft after two starts and that is not his fault, you know?
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: He may become that, but no one knows after two starts against a directional school and the worst team in the SEC.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and, you know, I just pulled it up again just to make sure that I'm not, because I'm, you know, you watch it and then, you know, you watch the every throw break down and, you know, I had it pulled up again.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, did he miss some throws?
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but was this kid throwing into the teeth of quite possibly the best defense in the country deep into the game and was Sark, who is one of the best offensive coaches in college football and possibly an NFL coach in two years.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: he did not take he did not rain him in at all and I feel like that's where we're at where I think if all of a sudden we did a little bit of what Notre Dame did with CJ car actually this weekend and it's like okay now it's getting too much we're just going to throw the same wide receiver screen eleven goddamn times until it gets picked off and
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: This wasn't the case for Texas.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's thrown it deep.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's pushing the ball down field.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: And that's a showcase of a good coach having faith in a quarterback.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's where they're at.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, to me, the result doesn't matter.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Peyton Manning, perfect example.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: had like, nineteen of those games to start as an developer, you know what I mean?
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he threw, I think, what did he throw?
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: Twenty eight interceptions?
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: This first NFL season.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: And so, I don't know.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm, I'm, I'm happy that in a lot of ways, I think this is the best thing that can happen.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: They're still going to make the playoffs and we'll get to see arch in the postseason.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: but this can put the hype train on ice for a second just allow this kid to develop normally and to have three or four normal games against whoever the hell Texas plays this year before we have to start doing this massive indictment of his future and so in a lot of ways I thought it was good because if you beat Ohio State
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: And then it gets completely out of control, right?
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: And then it gets completely ridiculous.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so I come back in that game.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: How close was that to happening?
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Caleb Downs made an incredible play.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought, like, if you watched his last throw, Archmaine's last throw,
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: like the he was getting hit he's getting pulled to the ground by a defensive line and he's still muscle the ball to the tight end and Caleb downs who's probably going to be a what a top ten pick right like stops him a yard like makes an unbelievable individual play to stop the kids to stop the tight end like a yard short of the sticks if
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: Texas finds a way to score their ties the game maybe forces over time I or we're talking about this in a completely different way and they were I mean like they made a real run at the end which I think says something about what the kids got upstairs but I I thought this
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: So our old colleague, Ross DeLinger, just a great job covering college football.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: Is it Yahoo now?
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: This quote from Michael Taff, who's like a safety on the team.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: One of ours is best friends.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: I thought said everything.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: This was from I think a month or two ago, right?
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: So Taff said he told me, I can't wait till I throw a pick and everybody goes, everyone goes from I'm the best player in the world to the worst player.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: That quote shows so much self-awareness.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: It shows so much self-awareness and like when I read that quote, I'm like, the kid gets it.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: The kid understands, you know what I mean?
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: And he gets that it's not fair.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like you already get that it's not fair.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and he's not being a jerk about it.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's not being a jerk about it.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's accepting it and he understands.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think that there's a reality to it.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: He understands he's had advantages in his life because of his last name and he's aware of it and he's also aware of what's going to happen in an accepting of the fact that a lot of people that were building them up again to be the first pick in the draft or have spent the last few days ripping them down.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: This year, the MMQB is playing on Yahoo Fantasy, and you should too.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: Whether you're a first time or a veteran creating your millionth league, I know that Yahoo goes back with me all the way.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: That was my first fantasy football league.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: It is my only fantasy football league.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: When it's time to round up all my best friends from high school to get our league going, it's a standard thing.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: We all log into Yahoo.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: We all draft together.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: And with the season kicking off on September fourth, now's the time to start playing on Yahoo Fantasy Football, which offers so many fun ways to compete, not just your classically, anymore.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: You want to play instantly with friends, try the new draft with friends mode.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: You want more ways to play.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: Try the brand new Yahoo Fantasy guillotine league where the lowest scoring team gets eliminated weekly until there's only one team left standing.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: Do you prefer the classics?
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like we said, get your old crew together, head back in and make a private league.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: No crew, no problem.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: Just join a publicly.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's the easiest way to play.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: You can play now at yakufinacy.com slash mmqb.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's yakufinacy.com slash mmqb.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: Here's someone we can rip.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm just kidding.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: But I, so
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to know where we're going here, but this is, uh, yeah.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: So it's funny, like I, uh, and by the way, where there were balloons around the press conference backdrop, right?
- 17:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's where we're headed.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_02]: I want to say this though.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to preview the two non weekend games in a couple minutes here.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_02]: And then on Friday show, we're going to take Friday morning for a full weekend preview.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: So just to give you guys a sense of what's to come
- 18:16[SPEAKER_02]: On the agenda here, I want to talk a little bit about Belvelle Check.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: Albert and I have not spoken to each other about Mike Parsons yet that happened over.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_02]: We both wrote, we both did video, we both did all that stuff independently because we were out with our families on Labor Day weekend.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I want to put a bow on that really quickly because I do think that discourse has shifted in a really interesting way.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: And then we're gonna get to Chief's Chargers and we're gonna get to Dallas and Philly.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: But just very quickly.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I've been told that I'm a very negative person.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: I read the comments recently on a couple of YouTube videos that said that I'm the most negative NFL analyst in the business, which shocked me a little bit, made me hurt my feelings a little bit.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm trying to become less of a
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like, as you do get a little bit of shot and Freud when you watch something like North Carolina and TCU last night, there's just something inherently funny about it, but I will try to be a little bit nicer.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: But my God, you have Lawrence Taylor.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: Michael Jordan.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: you have like every North Carolina luminary you drive down the field on the first possession and you score and the place is just like like going bonkers and then TCU beats the ever-loving shit out of you for four quarters and after the game the seventy-three-year-old Bill Beliceck
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: gives a press conference under like a southern wedding display of ridiculous balloons.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like it looked like what did you ever find that?
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think we know exactly who designed that.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: Someone in his life who's probably a little bit more interested in balloons, little bit closer to balloon age than that coach.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_02]: But so inherently,
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's funny, inherently it's funny, but here's my one takeaway and then I'm gonna stop.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: This is something that relates to all aspects of life, and we've all met people like this.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not talking about as much about Bill as I am, some of the people in his inner circle.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: When they went to North Carolina, what did they say?
- 20:32[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna be the third team.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna be the NFL prep squad, like no other teams doing it, the NFL way.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna do it the NFL way, and we're gonna build an NFL style program.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_02]: We all have someone in our lives
- 20:45[SPEAKER_02]: who, you know, even Irish sports writers, we know someone who's not a sports writer and who would be like, well, if I was a sports writer, I'd walk in and do it like this or if I was a lawyer, I'd go walk in and do it like this and sometimes those people actually get a chance to do it and they're
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: destructive lunatics and idiots that destroy a lot of things.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying this is bill in his circle, but I do think that there's that little bit of hubris that needs to get corrected when you think, oh, I'm just a good technical fundamental coach.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to be fine in college football.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: You're not.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what we saw.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: It was
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and I love Charlie Weiss, but it reminded me of what Charlie Weiss said twenty years ago when he got to Notre Dame, right?
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like where it was, we're going to have a decided schematic advantage.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: That that that phrase is like burned in my head.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, when you when you put yourself out there like that and you say things like that, you're basically calling into question the credentials of a lot of other people.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I think when Michael and Barty goes on the McAfee show and starts
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: calling Carolina the thirty thirteen were trying to be the thirty thirteen.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: I understand why he's doing it he's doing it for recruiting purposes but it's like okay like let's see let's see what that looks like because there are lots of really good qualified coaches at this level.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: there are qualified personnel people at the level and the challenge with the players is different when you're dealing with eighteen to twenty two-year-olds versus twenty two and up.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: So like this whole idea out there and I've even like noticed like NFL fans carry themselves with an arrogance about it which is insane because all you're doing is sitting on the couch versus somebody else who's sitting on the couch and enjoying college football.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean but it's like this like well that's a lower level of the game.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's like
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: that doesn't mean the people at that level are less qualified like that doesn't mean that it doesn't mean that that that that that coach at that level like it's a different job you know what I mean like a really different job and so like
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: That person may be as good a football coach as you are, but he can't do as much schematically because he's got a nineteen year old running that's running it.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: And what you're going to find out is when you get to that level and you try to do something that you were doing with a thirty year old with a nineteen year old, it's not going to work.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: And so like there's all of these nuances to the different levels of the game, I mean,
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think there are probably some high school coaches out there that would be plenty capable of coaching on higher levels, you know, that just their career paths took them to the high school level and they're great at what they do.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: And what the challenge is in coaching a sixteen year older different than coaching that the challenge is in coaching a twenty year old.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: So like I think that that's part of what you're facing now.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: The interesting thing to me was not
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: And TCU's got more talent than North Carolina.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so like that's part of it.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like that that that we should not dismiss that.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: North Carolina is bringing in seventy new guys.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: And this is not the NFL.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like when you're bringing in seventy new twenty year olds, like if maybe a little challenging to get all those guys on the same page and up to speed.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think, and I think like Deon Sanders, like his first year at Colorado, that's why that first year was so sideways was because they tried to do the same thing, right?
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: The thing that got me was how bad news bears and I'm going to date myself with that reference.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I love that news bears.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: How bad news bears they looked in the third quarter.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: It was like that third quarter was as big a belief show as I can I mean it was like so they had.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: The first play, I think the first play from scrumage in the second half was a seventy-five-year touchdown run, right?
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: Then I believe Carolina won three and out.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: Then on the on TCU's next offensive series, they were in third and twenty and threw it right down the seam for a first half.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: So in third and twenty, the TCU converts.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: Then the play after that after they convert the third and twenty, twenty-eight-year touchdown run untouched.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: The running back was no one laid a finger on the running back, right?
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: Soon thereafter, then you have a thirty seven yard fumble return for a touchdown.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like so that third quarter and then the quarterback goes out was he hurt was he not like whatever then Brad Johnson's son comes in and looks pretty good.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: That was Brad Johnson's son.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he shit.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know that.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: If I didn't, I had a lot of you off.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: It played at LSU and tech saying that.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's one of these guys.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's probably in his seventh year, you know, but like he, but yeah, like that's Brad Johnson's son.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: I love Brad Johnson.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's a great guy.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, anyways, but it's interesting like because I just, that was the thing that was kind of like,
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: like kind of like jarring about it for me it wasn't that they lost like I thought they lose um for me was jarring about it was like what up they come out of that half they're down twenty seven and they puked all over their shoes yeah you know so I'll be interested to see where this goes he's still up to a lot of his same tricks like do you see the depth chart thing
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_02]: And that's kind of what I wanted to get into.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: But that's not just for the media.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's the depth chart they gave the scout.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: The scouts.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the thing that really, that, like, like, do you understand what you're selling the kids on?
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you are selling, so you're going to be the thirty-third NFL team, but you're going to turn your treat the thirty-two teams like crap.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like, do you know who does it?
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: You know, never did that?
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: who never acted that way.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, every other college.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: You talked to NFL scouts like they would tell you how they'd be treated like royalty at Alabama.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: They would come back like talking about the what's the best what was the best Fred Prussbox spread in the NFL.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like maybe Dallas is way up there.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_01]: Dallas is really good.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: What would you say?
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: Dallas Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Ph
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: because Nick Sabin knows that every kid he brings into his program comes there with the goal of going there.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm going to do everything I can to accommodate these guys.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: So they're going to have a good experience here.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: So they're going to be encouraged to draft my players.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: And like doing that to it, like that makes no sense.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what are you doing?
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I don't know.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and if you want to be the thirty-third NFL team, a good start,
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: is to treat the thirty two teams.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: The actual thirty two teams a little bit better than that.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: Well, so and so for those of you who don't know what Albert's referring to so we in the media get a depth chart and scouts they get a depth chart and we go to games and so we know first second third string and you know I think a lot of it's for broadcasters if they have to immediately and they have their own charts to but if they have to immediately recall something or for a center goes down someone else is coming in.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: He handed them completely blank depth charts.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought it was funny because before the game, Pete Thammel, who's a great college footballer, boarder for ESPN, had the depth chart, machoing people, the depth chart.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: But he also said like, OK, I did talk to the NFL scouts who are here.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: And there's maybe two players on this roster.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: North Carolina's roster.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: That will play in the NFL.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_02]: And there's like, there's like, nineteen, it teach you.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: And so for me, it's
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand the way that he is approaching this.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_02]: Like we said, you come in with a lot of hubris.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_02]: You piss off a lot of other college coaches and I heard that.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: I heard that plenty of this offseason where it's just wait.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: Just wait and see what this is like because Bill was one of those guys who would say like, oh, what have you got?
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like Southwest Louisiana this weekend?
- 29:04[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I have to play the chargers.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: And now you come down into this arena, and TCU is the real deal, and they'll beat the brakes off you.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the idea that I could come in and do it my own way.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: and then to have this massive gathering and to be so deflated, uh, accidental word choice there.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: It was incredible to me, just to see what it was.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: I heard the word deflated coming out and I was like, oh, um, but it was like, how do you,
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm guessing you're going to come back to it.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like the North Carolina is going to be eight and four this year or whatever.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: It is seven and five.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to be fine.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to go to like the cheese at bull.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: But I think we all learned an important.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think we all learned an important lesson.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I was the last thing I'll say about this.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: My favorite part of the broadcast was outside of the embarrassment of guys like patmac feet.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: saying, oh, I'm picking North Carolina because Michael and Barty's my friend on the pre game show.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's like really this is what analysts are doing now before games and whatever.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's a separate, you know, that's like the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the segmented Desmond Howard School of, uh, of projections, I would say.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: We go from Lee court in the great Lee course so as to how it does been how to all this side and said Texas isn't very good after what happened on Saturday was interesting change in opinion there.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: We go from that to
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: By the third quarter, there was no Bella check angle remaining.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: None.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: There was nothing that Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbsry could talk about related to, uh, related to Bill Bella checks.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_02]: So we get deep into this story about a TCU kid who was so infected with poison ivy that no one could go near him and he practiced in a beekeeper suit for a week.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: And like, God bless.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody on that ESPN production crew for having that ready to go in on like under the slightest chance that Balachek was a non-relevant factor in this game, but like I just looked to my wife in the third quarter.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, we're talking about fucking poison ivy.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about right now.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's Bill Bellach, I coaching a college game and we're talking about a kid and Kirk Herb Street's like, oh, even the mention of Poison Ivy makes me itchy.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like it.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, this is what we're talking about.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with her beyond that.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, for sure.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: I got Poison Ivy on Nantucket like three or four years ago where my eyes were swollen shut.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: And then my son got it.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: My son got it like last year to the point where we had to take him to Urgent Care.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and like I honestly felt so freaking bad for him.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like just look, I couldn't, I was hard to look at him.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so Poison Ivy's no joke, take proper precautions, everybody out there.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, like also like big shout out to the producer who was probably really afraid that that story was going to die in the vine.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: And got to get it in there, right?
- 32:09[SPEAKER_02]: I know he's like, yeah, we prep the poison Ivy thing and we brought it home.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: Football is back and underdog is the best place to make picks and win money all season long playing on underdog is easy just pick whether your favorite players will go higher or lower on stats like touchdowns receiving yards interceptions or more guys it's one of those things where some of these places can be so intimidating you feel like you have to know so much about it but underdog is easy easy to find app just download it and you can jump right into the game with no pretenses no precursors
- 32:43[SPEAKER_02]: Just picking higher lower on stats.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's so simple.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's so intuitive.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_02]: My friends love it.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's a way that we can kind of communicate and talk about what we're doing each week on underdog.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: And this week, I'm looking at Joe Burrow and taking him for higher than two touchdowns.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: Emily, neighbors, higher for six catches.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone's fading, the league neighbors right now.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: Giants are going to be trailing in the second half of so many of these games.

- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: All right, I want to I want to support a bow on Micah Parsons really quickly and I suggest it.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: I would say that Albert and I both wrote very different things.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_02]: I got into a little bit of trouble.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I made some ages references to Jerry Jones and but I will say this.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: I got a little backlash, but I think the one thing that was not funny about it, because I'm trying to be nicer.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: But my, the whole premise of the column was centered around.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's time to take the keys away from Grandpa.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: He can't drive the car anymore.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: And that has become like an off the record thing with agents.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: Now I've seen like a couple of agents give interviews, and they're like, it's time to take the keys away.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, I guess somebody's reading, you know?
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: I just, we had to go through that recently.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: And so I am just familiar with that process.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: I actually like I can relate to like my where I would say like I'm just more nervous about my parents driving at night now.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'll be the one that will put it.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like I I'm fine with them driving in the day.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's like my wife is very sensitive to that where she's like when they come over for dinner because they live about an hour away.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: She's like we probably should just be careful about like having them drive after like eight o'clock.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: My grandpa, until the day he died, had no straightforward vision.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: Only peripheral could only see out of the corners of his eyes and still drove to the race track every day to bet on the pony's absolute legend.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not fair.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_02]: And you tell me where I'm wrong.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_02]: So here's the process, right?
- 35:30[SPEAKER_02]: And maybe it's just that I don't want to revisit my own reaction to it.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_02]: I had a very vitriolic reaction to this.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_02]: And the day five reaction to it now is this idea that like, well, it was going to be really, really expensive.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_02]: And no team that has this many expensive guys is going to win.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_02]: Here's my rebuttal to that.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm going to hand you the floor.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_02]: He dicked around with every single one of these guys' contracts, and if he paid deck press got early, and if he paid CD lamb early, he could have paid Micah Parsons, and this wouldn't have been the disaster scenario that we're doing.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_02]: And it blew up in his face.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_02]: And for the cowboys to use that, and to throw up their hands and say, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, this is an issue because it costs too much.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_02]: You knew that the whole time, and you knew it before the draft, when you could have maximized your leverage for the trade,
- 36:25[SPEAKER_02]: And you knew it after the draft.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: You knew it at every single step of the way that you're doing this and you thought and for for Jerry to throw up his hands and say, I thought we had a deal done.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand how this works.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: You've been the owner of an NFL team for what like forty years.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, come on.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_02]: That this is like to me this thing is so inexcusable.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that the effort to
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: Hold this man's pants up after he got completely embarrassed is laughable But I you know, maybe I'm wrong, but I thought this was a little Mac level embarrassing on steroids the Jets got more for Jamal Adams than the Cowboys got for freaking Micah Parsons.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_02]: Can you believe that?
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I would agree with you on the front end of it, right?
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like so I want a hundred percent like think the way the cowboys have been negotiating with these guys has I like I think antagonize a lot of guys has created an environment where guys, you know, like basically like hold it against the team the way that they've been handled.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: And it's affected like negotiations on the periphery of that.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: And so I, I'm with you on that part of it.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: The front end of it was completely screwed up.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't need to go through the whole process of putting him through the one-on-one negotiation without involving one of the most powerful agents in football and even we'll get up.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: All that was astronaut.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: I will say, there's one thing I do
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: I just think like, and this is just based on my reporting on it.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think what people aren't focusing enough on, that will be the best defense of the Cowboys here and the way that they handle this was after that first set of negotiations fell apart in April.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: They sat down and they talked big picture about, okay, what are we doing here?
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they took a very real look in the mirror as far as is the way that we've done business here working.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I, you know, like, they've talked a lot.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like you've heard Shadi use the term like we want to be, we want to create the greatest culture and professional sports.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's a little over the top.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: But you get the idea of what he's trying to do there.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: And Micah by all accounts has not been the best locker room guy.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, in defense of Micah, like a lot of past, or a lot of great past wrestlers are different or weird or like a little like just a little off, right?
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's something that for one reason or another is just just endemic to the position.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: So they sit down and they have this conversation about what we want to do and what we want to be.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: And over the course of those conversations, they really said like, let's lean in to what shot he's trying to build here.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: Let's try to make this more about, let's see what happens if we really try to
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: change like the environment in our locker room where forever and ever and ever they've done a great job of drafting great players and they've done they've been as good as anybody when it comes to that over the last twenty years but they've always had these kind of sideways locker rooms right so like let's see if we do it a little bit differently and I think the evidence of that of of that plan is right there in the trade with who they asked for
- 39:51[SPEAKER_01]: They asked for Kenny Clark.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I could tell you for a fact, the Packers were a little surprised by it, right?
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, you didn't ask for a Sean Garry.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't ask for Luke's fan nasty.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't ask for the younger defensive tackle who's got a lot of potential to volunteer.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: You asked for Kenny Clark.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: And then when you continue those conversations with the Packers people, what they would tell you is, we were kind of heartbroken that they asked for him.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: Because we knew we had, we knew we were going to do it.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: But we hate to let him go.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: Because he's the best pro.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: We have, he's the best leader.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: We have.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: we know exactly what we know exactly what to expect from him on a day-to-day basis.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why the cowboys asked for him.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's why the cowboys, that was the player they wanted.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's what I, again, like I said, if this thing up from the beginning, with the negotiation, the way they handle it, the way they antagonize Micah and his agent, all that different stuff, that's one hundred percent on.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think like the conversations they had after that are actually pretty valid and having those discussions about like big picture, what are we trying to become here?
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: Because they haven't been doing NFC championship game in twenty nine years and that's the second longest drought in the sport when it comes to that behind the dolphins and the browns who by the way like when this streak started
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: That brown team is actually the Ravens now.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's actually like that streak is actually like, I mean, it's actually one franchise because the browns were an expansion team in ninety nine.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: So it's actually the dolphins are the only team with a longer drought.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: And if you think about it, like, I look this up.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's a weird thing that I think the cowboys are top seven or eight and wins over that period.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yet they have the second longest drought of making it to the final four.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: What does that tell you?
- 41:41[SPEAKER_01]: So we are not a weird that they're like top quarter of the league top twenty five percent of league and wins over that period yet.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: They're as far as making it to a conference title game.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: They've got the second longest route.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: So what they look at that is there was something a little uneven here and we need to change something and I do think there is again like.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: They wanted to resign Mike a Parsons, but failing that I think there's something else that are leaning to leaning into here that's where I'll tell you this again.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_02]: Can you blame me and I'm not saying this on your end?
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying this on the end of because I think you had the best and kind of most nuanced take of anyone on this, but can you blame me for feeling like I'm being a little spin-cycled here because
- 42:29[SPEAKER_02]: for a couple reasons, right?
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: If you all of a sudden decided, oh, we need to stop the run.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_02]: We're not a run stopping team.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think the cost of things was a bigger piece of it.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: And Tyler Booker will say that they won't say that because that is taking a shot at Michael.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, but I mean, I think it's the reality of it.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: And drafting Tyler Booker.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not taking a shot at Michael either because again, like I think in a lot of cases when you have great players, you have to manage stuff like that, right?
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: And Michael is such a great player that I think like you would be willing to manage a lot of different things.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: But like, I think what station or the cowboys at versus what station the packers are at, right?
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and I, I just think there are two different situations, you know?
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: And in fairness to that take, I think drafting Tyler Booker and Donovan Azaraku is, it fits with that, right?
- 43:30[SPEAKER_02]: Those are two high character guys from, you know, stuff like that.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: But to say that you are now concerned about stopping the run, you didn't draft the defensive tackle until the tenth round or the seventh round in the twenty twenty five draft.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_02]: You drafted a defensive line in the second round or the twenty twenty four draft and then the seventh round.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: And then you had Macy Smith who just, you know, it just hasn't worked out to this point in time.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_02]: That to me, smacks of, okay, you're just trying to find something.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_02]: And also, you're handing a conference opponent, an elite player that's going to make a team that was probably an eight or nine win team if we're being real, the Packers, and turning them into a ten and possibly a eleven win team.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: Can you really do anything with a twenty fifth overall pick?
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the thing about like, I do like, look at that piece of it as like, okay, like that's
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's a very valid, like look at that situation, because you did make that team better, and that pick is probably gonna be worse as a result of it.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: And if it is a twenty fifth, twenty six, twenty seventh pick, that's obviously way different than, like if you're getting the fifteen pick, or the tenth pick in the draft, like they're two different animals, but it does give you more flexibility.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: It does give you what you can do, and you can move around some with extra picks.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I just,
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, again, look, I just think that they had gotten to a point with his relationships in that locker room and with like the issues with Michael weren't going to get fixed in Dallas.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: you know, like these weren't going to get fixed and Dallas and like he's established and and and and as it was away and you know the one coach who was really able to reach him there and get him to honor to play consistently on a down to down basis and play within the defense was actually Dan Quinn who like that's one reason why I think there were people that organization that wanted the
- 45:44[SPEAKER_01]: They wanted to move on from Mike McCarthy and go to Dan Quinn while Quinn was still there because Quinn had done such a good job of being able to
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: you know, reach different guys that were really hard to reach in the roster.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: And it was just going to be harder to do that.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: It was going to be hard to turn him based on everything that was happening here.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: You know, whereas when he goes to Green Day now, what they're betting on and having talked to people there, because they know all of this too, you know, but what they're betting on is like, we've got really great young leadership in our locker room.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: One thing that would be one thing that's like a really interesting thing to look at with them, actually, if you want to flip this to the packer side of it,
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: is like they had heard some stuff about like how things weren't perfect was Xavier McKinney and with the giants, right?
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: And they basically made the bet that we're gonna be able to reach Xavier McKinney and we're gonna be able to do more with them.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: And when he comes into our locker room and is around our defensive leadership and is around our guys and in this small town environment, like we're gonna be able to maximize him.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and he was one of the best safeties in football last year.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: So Dave you're McKinney trade.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: There's Dave you're McKinney signing of twenty twenty four.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: Actually kind of gives them a blueprint for how we're going to try to get the most out of Michael Parsons.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: And Mike a two.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you know, he was in state college.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that this is right.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: We're in part of it.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that's a foreign environment for him in Green Bay.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_02]: So my other two things are this and then let's talk about some actual football.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: Is so that
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: If you had the character thing too is an interesting thing, right?
- 47:25[SPEAKER_02]: Where if there's a backbone issue with character.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, you mentioned the Packers.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's almost like how you said, if because Brian Dable and Kevin O'Connell want to Drake May, the Patriots, we're not going to trade that pick.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_02]: If the most free agent of verse team in the NFL, who brought in Reggie White and Charles Woodson want my player, I'm probably not giving it to them for two.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_02]: For two first round picks in a thirty year old defensive tackle, you know, that's just me.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, probably scares me a little bit.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_02]: But I do wonder again, it's like if you all these things now that are coming out, if you felt that way.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sure Kenny Clark is a great guy.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_02]: You could have gotten a high character guy.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's like twenty seven if you traded him before the draft like that that's all I'm saying.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that that that that to me is like the most fair criticism is yeah like if you was that like things you know is is you absolutely could have moved him now I mean
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: We know this year's draft wasn't a great draft.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: The twenty-five draft wasn't seen as a great draft.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe it winds up working out for them in the end.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: But that's why it's like generally hard to get value for real value for a guy if you're trading him in August.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_01]: I almost feel like you have to create that tension with the player.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: If you're even having like an even if it's like a five percent chance in your head that you're going to deal with.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like I almost feel like you have to create that tension point with the player before the draft for the good of the franchise because like when you get to the end of August teams
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: budgets are set.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: Their cap is set.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_01]: Their rosters are set.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be less likely to give you a king's ransom than if you, like, create a bidding war in March or April.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_01]: And then on the flip side, I like the post trade part of it.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: You're actually going to get a player that you can use this year and you're going to know what pick you're trading for.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like they have no idea what picks they're trading for and getting picks in twenty six and twenty seven.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_01]: They might not be able to guess, but they don't know.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: Whereas like if you had made this trade back in in April, you know exactly what pick you're getting at least for the current year.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_02]: This spins perfectly into the fact that like the Dallas Cowboys have to play a game in two days.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_02]: I saw CD land the clip of CD land saying oh yeah there's a chip on our shoulders a chip on our shoulder and we're hearing about how everybody's talking about us and blah blah blah blah.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_02]: I can't imagine.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably hard to imagine this team's like ready to go right now.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think that Vegas is betting on that.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: The Eagles are like eight and a half point fake for sure.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: Was that number lower last week?
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm assuming it was, right?
- 50:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure it had to be.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_02]: So this is the ESPN Bet Sports Book.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not advocating for using any sportsbook, but I'm just letting you know that that's what this is.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_02]: I want to say, okay, minus, minus seven and a half.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, for sure.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you want to get it.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let's do it.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, minus seven and a half, though.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you tell me, but I mean, this game,
- 50:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna be watching for...
- 51:00[SPEAKER_02]: how the Eagles, because you had mentioned the retool defense.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's what's interesting to me.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_02]: We brought up a fact that Vic Fangeo a year ago, and I think in hindsight now, we'll say that, you know, maybe trying to be a little bit too complicated, trying to be a little bit over everybody's head, those first couple weeks.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_02]: What happens now that Cooper Digen has evolved into a player who can probably help run point on this defense.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_02]: Jalen Carter gets another year in the system.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean,
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what's going to happen, but I love the idea that we kind of know what the offense is going to look like.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be hard for Kevin Petulo.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think who's a future head coach in my mind, but it's going to be hard for him to put his stamp on things immediately.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_02]: I would guess.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_02]: It, you know, you kind of have to let Jalen Hertz run point guard in this offense, but I'm really excited to see what this defense looks like against Dallas.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the cowboys are still a formidable offense.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_02]: Anytime you've deck press got in CD lamb and George Pit, like you're going to be able to make plays and you're going to be able to move the ball.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_02]: But this would be a good showcase for them.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think to kind of, you know, see where they're at.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_02]: and see if they can get off the ground a little bit quicker as a defense because if they can, if they can be where they were at like week ten, and it's week two or three, I mean, look at that.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: And that's that again, like it's a hard ask cause like they did, and I think I told you, like you were reference that story that I had from my personal experience, like I was kind of like taking a back by how much they've lost on defense, which I didn't really remember it that way, you know.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_01]: from March, but like losing Josh, sweat, and Milton Williams, and Darious Sley, and and Chancey Gardener Johnson, like there's a fair amount of outgoing talent there, Brandon Graham didn't play as big a role, but obviously he was a really important leader for them, you know.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I think the, like they're gonna be looking for some young guys and some key spots to make plays for them, and don't forget like last year they started two and two, you know, and
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: you know you mentioned like it didn't look great the first few weeks of season it did take them some time to get off the ground with a new offensive coordinator and new defensive coordinator so now they have a new offensive coordinator and they have some personnel change on defense so are they able to start faster than they did a year ago that part of it's going to be really interesting to me
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm fascinated to see what the Cowboys do to generate a pass rush, because we'll all be really honed in on that.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think like we're all gonna be fully getting attention to that.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: And Matt Eberflus comes over.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_01]: He was in Dallas before.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, now he's gonna get a chance to
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's going to get a chance to put in his scheme and those players there are now on their third defense in three years.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because those guys went from Dan Quinn to Mike Zimmer to now to now Eberfluse.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: So what does that look like?
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I certainly think there's going to be pressure.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_01]: on Donovan Ezoraco and Sam Williams and Dante Fowler, guys that they're going to put out there on the edge.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: Because obviously, anytime there's a trade like this, you're circling that position that was vacated.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, we could talk about the Mike of Parsons thing until we're blowing the face, but we all know
- 54:17[SPEAKER_01]: There was one thing that he did at a higher level than maybe anybody else in the planet.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll see if the cowboys can come close to approximating any of that with the number of guys they have.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_01]: Because don't forget, they also lost a Marcus Lawrence.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so this is sort of a reset for them at that position.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_02]: It reminds me of when John Gruden played the Bears the first time after the Cleo Mac trade and I watched that game it was in London and I think they triple-teamed Cleo Mac for like the majority of the game with the I think the the unsaid part being this guy's not gonna get a sack against us Yeah, make us look stupid and so I do wonder
- 55:01[SPEAKER_02]: If the directive to Maddie Ruflus was like, if you don't wind up with five seconds, you know, get to jail and it hurts a couple times and you'll find a few gold bricks in your locker after the coaches locker after the game.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I do think that there's that part of it and there is certainly some concern there.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_02]: really quickly the charges in the chiefs to me this is the matchup of the weekend just because there are not the matchup of the weekend the matchup of the pre weekend the match the weekend's not great and we talked about this before that just kind of happens
- 55:36[SPEAKER_02]: when you have the networks and all these other corporate partners trying to eat alive the the best parts of the schedule.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, I think that this is the this could be the moment where Dallas or that LA pivots in my mind from
- 55:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know, okay, nice story.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to finish in third place in the AFC West to this team could win the Super Bowl in a year or two.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_02]: And like I've been there so many times with the Chargers or it's like almost almost no this is the year.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_02]: This is the year Brandon Staley.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oh Anthony Lynn like they got it.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_02]: But I think this this is could could start to very much be the year, you know.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: I was very excited.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_01]: When I, the one thing you notice when you're at their campus, how physically big they are, you know, like just the, the hardball, like way there, which is a massive, like lean on you offensive line, a defensive, like, runwall, hard edges, like all of that.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 56:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like everything that hardball is built
- 56:41[SPEAKER_01]: where wherever he's been, you know, whether it's Stanford San Francisco, Michigan, now the chargers, like all that, like I was fastening to see what that was going to look like.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what kind of sucked about, I mean, among other things, that's what kind of sucked about the, about the Sean Slater injury is that we don't get to see the full version of it, you know, but all that.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_01]: One of the makes, like for me, like one of the rookies I'm looking forward to seeing most, that I don't think anybody's talking about is I'm a Marion Hampton.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_01]: Because I think like, I think the kids got a chance to be, and I'm not comparing him as a player to a guy who is one of the all-time greats, one of the greatest players of, you know, the last twenty years.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: But what, what Harba had in Frank Gore,
- 57:29[SPEAKER_01]: in San Francisco, like that's the vision for Omarian Hampton.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's like they want to be, they want him to be that sort of focal point for them offensively.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I, there's been a lot of encouraging things over the course of camp with him just how fast he sees it like his vision.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_01]: His burst, his ability to hit this second gear is a big guy on the second level and really run by defenders.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be really interested to see what that looks like against the chiefs.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you know, there are questions, of course, like what does Joe all look like going back to his college position at left tackle?
- 58:07[SPEAKER_01]: Are they able to manage the right tackle position?
- 58:09[SPEAKER_01]: All that.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_01]: But like I do think like the hardbot vision for the team, like what he wants that team to be.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_01]: They're a lot closer to getting there and they did a good job of
- 58:19[SPEAKER_01]: of really pivoting and creating that year one, but they're like a lot closer to the full version of that vision now than they were in twenty twenty four and again like that sort of the shame of her son slater not being part of it.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_01]: What do you got this uh... what you got this for the first time for the Eagles if we're going straight up like no lines or whatever i think they're actually going to be too close games but i would take the goals and jeeps
- 58:44[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to take the Eagles and I'm going to take the Eagles in the Chargers and.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_01]: So are you one of these like Chiefs are taking a step back this year, guys?
- 58:51[SPEAKER_02]: No, no.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not like I think that they.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're going to be fine and then they're going to get Rashi Rice back for ten for eleven games and Rashi Rice is like and I think like last year.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_01]: They had no rushy rice for most of the year.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_01]: They had no Hollywood Brown for most of the year.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: Isaiah Pacheco was hurt.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_01]: They had their tackle situation was a dumpster fire, right?
- 59:20[SPEAKER_01]: And they still went to the Super Bowl.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't know, man.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_01]: They were able to keep Nick Bolton, which I think was huge.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_01]: Um, they resigned George Carloftis.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_01]: I, I, you know, I think the offense, like if you talk to my homes or you talk to Andy Reed, they'll tell you the offense should be better this year than it was last year with Josh Simmons at left tackle with Rice when he gets back with Hollywood Brown.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they feel really good about where they're at.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and they think internally at least, like, as long as, you know, Kelsey and Chris Jones can stay off father time for a little while longer, they feel like they got a chance to be better than they were last year.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_02]: Kelsey's making it to like the tenth round of fantasy football drafts and I keep just taking it and being like, okay, but I don't want to get it.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know what though?
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think once they get rice back, I think rice gives them a little bit of the middle of the production that Kelsey's giving them.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_01]: So I agree.
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_01]: And they also, I mean, here's the name to watch.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_01]: There's no a gray like they feel like based on what they saw in camp and they resigned him.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_01]: They quietly resigned him to like a three year extension.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's a guy they when you talk to their people.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_01]: They'll tell you like he's a starting tight end.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's just he's just got.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_01]: Travis Kelsey is a teammate, but he's a starting tight end.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm interested to see if we see at least while rice is out.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_01]: like gray playing a little bit more and maybe in the traditional tight end position with Calcy playing a little bit more like a move tight end position.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe that saves some miles on his on his body, you know, over the course of the year where you're, you're just taking a little bit less of a pounding.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_02]: You heard it here first, go pick up no grand the waiver wire.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_02]: What do you guys doing?
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_02]: Enjoy.
