- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: The bucks and ownership including Jason Light and Todd Bowles just wrapped up their owners meeting over there and Phoenix they just had a long talk a lot about a variety of things including two the glazers talking about Todd Bowles talking about the season last year as it blamed on injuries.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: Do they feel strongly about the season head also to where they at with Baker Mayfield and his contract coming up there is a lot to discuss in this week's episode.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: of here the cannons presented by our new friends sponsoring this show for the rest of this year going into next year and that is price picks will have a whole lot more to talk about there with them but very excited about that.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: You guys can go check out more and the description below if you're here on YouTube but with me this morning as Caleb Skinner our veteran writer at bucksgiving.com and over there
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: happy Thursday.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: Happy morning to you guys.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, looking like a good Thursday morning.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: I got a lot to talk about, given that.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_02]: And if I'll always meeting just wrap it up and always some little tip is what the draft and the tip is about what happened last year last season.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: So always a good time.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, doing well, starting to warm up here so that's good and just let the board talk in some ball here a little bit about the NFL owner's meetings and looking back at last year kind of what's transpired from their directions moving forward.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: Things that nature before we get into this dead period before we get into the offseason programs, guys.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: If you're here with us on YouTube or Facebook anywhere, definitely throw in a comment.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: If you have any questions or topics, you guys would like us to go through for sure.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: Send those in as you know.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: We always bring them up here on the screen and we appreciate y'all engage and hit the like button and subscribe button.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: You guys showing so much love to us and consistency there has allowed us to have these opportunities like with price picks for the rest of the year So we appreciate you guys a ton, but let's go and get started because we do have a handful of things to discuss this morning Gentlemen, let's start off with I think is a pretty Interesting thing I took away from the owners meetings because there was a handful but specifically talking about the glazers speaking on last year How the season went because immediately after you know the bucks did not make the playoffs
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: the fans reactions, wasn't so great.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we saw a lot of you guys in the comments here.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely instant reactions to games.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: Not too happy with Todd Bowles and how that team was not able to, certainly finish off the season, but in the middle of the season, just completely see that fall off.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: So we finally hear from the glazers and get their thoughts on, and they don't usually speak much.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: This is usually the one rare time that you get out of them is at the actual owners' meetings, but here's what they had to say.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Talking about last year.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, you see what the team could do, but every story has sub-stories.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's tough when you enter a season with a clear vision of what your team will be, and then you're constantly missing key pieces throughout the year.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone deals with injuries, but we had some significant challenges last season.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: It was unfortunate and frustrating down the stretch, still weekend and week out.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: This team plays hard for Todd Bowles.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody quits even when things don't go their way.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: They're fighting and told the final whistle There's no set line in the sand You have to look at the full picture the team where it is where it is in and it's journey and what you're building Toward after we won the Super Bowl people expect the things to fall apart It's not easy to win one and immediately do it again.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: You're dealing with the salary cap injuries and a lot of moving parts
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: But what that said, Todd knows we have the highest expectations.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: Jason Light knows it.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: We're all aligned there.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: We're very optimistic about this upcoming season.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: So like I had mentioned, going into that gentleman, you know, injuries were certainly broad up.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: It just so happens to be when the bucks had a lot of their injuries.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: They kind of played at their best.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: And that was the early parts of the season.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would agree and like one of our commenters here in the comments is saying the 49ers did also deal with a lot of injuries and it didn't affect them nearly as much as it did with the pandemic looking here and I think the reasons behind that are the depth of the team not being nearly as strong as it was in San Francisco.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: Once you've got past that first layer of players in Tampa Bay, you've got a little bit tough as far as starting Calvary players.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: And then also coaching a management has a lot to do with that.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: Getting the best out of your players regardless of whether their starters are back-ups or anything in between.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_02]: injuries do matter and they do greatly affects teams.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's not disputable.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: It absolutely can derail a team can make them play a lot worse because their sorting players are available.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_02]: But you look at the NFC South and you look at how weak the division has been.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_02]: You're in a near-out and you look at the fact that the Panthers won it at eight and nine last year, especially given the books had that little stretch there at the end of the season where they just had the win one game.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: and basically be good on the NSC South and they couldn't do it.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: So, injuries definitely are part of it, but the collapse goes away, way deeper than the injuries.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think for sure, and that's coaching, that's player effort, that's depth, lack of depth, talent building, roster building.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: All that went into what happened last year.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, pretty square on on the head there, um, by River, um, there's a lot of deeper problems.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: Um, if in, in the time of a bucket of ears, other than injuries.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: I would not put last year on injuries.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's never excuse is the thing, right?
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you can't everybody in the NFL deals with injuries.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, some teams might be affected more by injuries than others.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: But at the end of the day, it's kind of in the in the bones of your organization on to whether or not you're able to bounce back from that or not and clearly the buck and ears were not drinking their milk last season or the season before that or so on and so forth.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of what the problem we're in, the problem we're blinds, right?
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like so, you know, ownership, not willing to spend money, ownership, not willing to make the changes necessary to be able to keep guys in there.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: You look at the NFLPA, you know, the report cards that come out.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: But can ears are one of the worst teams you're in and you're out in that.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: in that manner of things, so like you're not in attractive, you know, location, you're not in a location as attractive.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: But as a franchise, you're not in attractive franchise.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have great ownership, everybody just keeps harping, you know, the glaciers are great, you know, so on support.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: They're really not that great of owners.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: If you think about it, I mean, you look back at, you know, their soccer fans, based on their soccer team.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, them kind of writing about what was going on there.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's starting to creep into their football team.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is where we are at now.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: And that's where it starts.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard for the head of the snake ultimately.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, you can blow smoke out my ass all you want to, or my ass all you want to.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not going to fall for it.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's over it.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm done with it.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: Start making the necessary changes that need to happen.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: They're all things are going to continue down this slow, but steady downhill slip that we're currently on.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: We believe in Todd Bowles 100% out tired of that like like he is not proven anything to you to show that he's an NFL caliber head coach to get you to where you want to be like a BA was and if you go back and look at you know what players have said in the past about BA in the difference between him and Todd Bowles.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's a massive difference right and BA was able to get the most out of his players because he was he wasn't scared to say what he what needed to be said right Todd Bowles isn't that type of guy as a head coach is going to
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: kind of let the players handle it themselves and I don't even know if he has one on one conversations like hard decisions like hey like so I say a player gets injured right like and goes down are you see having a one-on-one conversation with the back up who's going to be earning more playing time like hey these are the things that we need to do we need you to step up big time I don't know if that's happening or not and like I don't know I'm just going off on a tangent here because like it's so much deeper than injuries and just the words that come
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it starts to add up here now.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: There was a specific part where Joel actually talks about Todd Bowles in last season.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: It said last season, it started out great.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: And so, well, obviously, we were disappointed.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, for our fans, they're disappointed.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: But there's always a little more to it, you know.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: Every team has injuries.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Once again, bring up injuries.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: But there were significant injuries last year.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: were at significant positions.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of those close games came down to the stretch and didn't go our way.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: But we're trying to build a championship team and you can try and throw a dart every year or you can try to build a suitable winning team.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: And we feel like we have a great team and we're constantly building, building, building, building adding to the foundations of what we have.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: And if you look at our roster, look at our team, we think we're great in a lot of spots.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: But like a lot of teams, you have to add obviously ultimately the head coaches, the one who has to fall at his feet.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: But I know Todd is very respected in the locker room.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: nobody wants to win more than Todd.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: So the continuation you were just talking about their Caleb of falling on the sword for Todd Bow's.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly what this ownership group is going to do.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: We already knew that whenever they did, you know,
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know, not make a move to move on from bulls and they stayed very, very quiet about that as well.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like this is what we're seeing that quote, like, but everybody within that locker room believes in top bulls.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: I find that very hard to believe.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: We heard y'all the obvious what he had to say, you know, why Mike Evans potentially left, like,
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: Clearly not everybody within that locker room and Jamaal Dean, even having something to say about it.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like these are guys who have worked with all those for years.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: And our saying is about the man.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's nothing wrong with the man, the person, you know, respectable guy like that.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: But he's not the guy to lead this team.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm going to continue to say that like he's not.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: And then just the reverberation of the same thing about how everybody believes in him.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's a joke to me.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's just a complete joke.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, there are some players like to have a million that express support for top bulls and guys, like, you know, about they David, obviously retired, but guys are Tristan Warf.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, it's interesting to see what that split is.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we did hear a lot of notable criticism.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: on some of the ways that he was around team last year with walkthroughs, like Eddie, I've been mentioned.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_02]: I should know that he had a really bad quote.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think about not being ready and prepared on the game day.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, that's not great.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: You don't like here.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's yeah.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: So definitely some disjointment there, but you know what else are they going to say at this point that bulls is the head coach.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: You're going forward in for another season.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: And we will see what happens
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: You know, whether you believe him or not is entirely up to you and you're prerogative, but The idea that maybe Josh because I already had to have a lot of help on offense, so that maybe Zach Robinson's been enough as a coordinator He's gonna need to be a first-time play call or maybe he can pay more attention to the defense stuff like that, so it's gonna be a little different But I think even outside of all that so a lot to brief for doubles Just go over here.
- 11:31[UNKNOWN]: Yeah
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's off the this defense.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean has to play better the offense.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: I put a lot of the blame on Josh Gazar just because that was his first time taking over those duties.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: I understand that the injuries to bigger may fit what he had going on, but I'm on more of, you know, that was just.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: And that's just how it goes for a new office corner things click early for you, but then defensive coordinators are able to read you out very easily and quickly.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then losing some pieces of course did not help him as much, but I put it on, because are there more than anything I think you heard from, you know.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: Bulls, I don't know if lightsetting on about bulls specifically said, you know, he's just a few years away from being, you know, a strong offensive coordinator.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: So the bucks obviously took a major risk there with bringing in somebody that they still felt was years and years away from being an offense corner.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's what you did to yourself.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: And so that offense.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: wasn't so pretty but the defense has to be better and it's going to be intriguing to watch to see what Todd Bowles is going to change.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: If he doesn't change anything, then yeah, the box earned deep trouble for 2026.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: He's got to do adjustment and they've got to find past rush and they feel like they've
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: They're able to do that a little bit through a free agency, but they're going to have to do a lot more throughout, you know, this draft or whatever else happens.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: This offseason got a hope David Walker is able to recover fully and show, you know, what he was showing to us early on when he first arrived.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: Now he did, you know, we heard from the ownership too.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: They did talk about Baker Mayfield.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: talked about you know if they're still on board with him they said oh absolutely absolutely we're on board i mean he's gone above and in beyond anything we could have asked for and hope for a baker everybody loves him he performs on the field gives 250 percent when he's on the field and that's all you can ask uh i was asked about if you you know they're going to be pain top dollar form so that doesn't hurt all to write that check if things are going well
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: You don't mind writing that check at all.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, we hear this from Jason Light all the time.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like I said, we don't hear from the Glaser's a whole ton throughout the year, but Jason Light, it's been very clear that they are going to continue to ride with Baker Mayfield and they're backing him fully gentlemen, and it's going to be a big and interesting year for Baker Mayfield as well in the offensive side.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, um, I've talked at length about my thoughts on a very, very few extensions, um, you can go read my articles there on books game day.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: I did a breakdown of how much it would cost, whether or not it would be a good idea.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'll recap it a little bit.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think it would be the best for the books to let him play out this year for sure and to not extend him this off season.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: That way if he has a rough year his value goes down praise significantly You take the risk that if he has a great year it goes up praise significantly
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: And that would work for Baker Mayfield too, but Mayfield obviously has a lot more to lose.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: In that case, right, if he plays worse this year, then he's getting less money in pre-ADM, so he would go play somewhere else, right, when he's rather priced, you know, get roofs down here and tip a bag, get that contract done this off season.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the biggest risk for the bucks, I think, is that if you sign Baker Mayfield to a contract north of $50 million, if you why,
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: and the team is not very good and he has a down here and that could potentially lead to Todd Bowles and Jason Light being gone in the Aussies and then you have to kind of start over and rebuild but with a quarterback that's making more than $50 million a year.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: So when you talk about a new general manager coming to the team, a new head coach, but head to the team to be hired,
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think I mean was played some pretty good football.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think if he has an office of coordinator who knows how to play him to his strengths I think he's playing great football But that being said it's a pretty big risk I think to extend him this off season knowing what could happen next off season
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: So we will see how that goes.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's looking like all signs are pointing towards Mayfield being extended this off season.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely for north of 50 million.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: Whether or not he becomes the highest paid quarterback in the NFL is something that remains to be seen.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_02]: But I will be DAC Prescott right now at 60 million APY.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: uh... spot rack i believe but direct and about fifty three which rock perdie and gearing off are both making fifty three million dollars a year a b y uh... as a point of comparison if you will so interesting to see how much money he gets to the do attend this off season or if they are and you know willing to let it ride but it doesn't sound like that's the case
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it seems like they definitely are in on moving forward with bigger at quarterback as you franchise QP, which is fine, you know, but I to River's point, if you sign in this office and you're going to be getting a cheaper deal, right?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like you as it is every single year, every year that goes on and gets more expensive no matter what is it.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: Especially when it comes to your personal percentage or your quarterback, right?
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of what happens.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: It goes up every single year and then somebody resets the market and that's how it is.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: So I understand that trying to get it done sooner rather than later, but again, you're risking what river it already spoke about.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then say, it is another down here.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: And the Glaciers finally decided to pull the plug and everything.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, light's gone, bulls is gone.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: We got a new GM.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: We got a new head coach.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: We got a whole new coaching staff.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: And bakers on like a three year deal.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: Are those guys really going to want bakers or quarterback like you don't know what whichever comes in if they're going to want a guy like a baker may feel deleting their team right like it is
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: It can go both ways the same way too.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like you could retain Baker, Zach Robinson, all of a sudden becomes a head coach next to off season.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, you've got a new O.C.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: and they're working with Baker.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: So it's different.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of an intriguing situation.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: But again, they seem fine moving ahead.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: With him, I'm fine moving ahead with him.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: As long as you have the right place of people in order to be able to coach him, because obviously that's a big deal.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to Baker and Liam loves him, he was talking about how good Zach Robinson is going to be for him.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: There are kids, there's media availability too there at the NFL and there's media.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it'll be a good year for Baker I don't know if it'll be you know that that 2020-24 season that we saw from him.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's definitely deserving of a contract I'm not sure what that number is gonna come in at like 50 APY to me just seems absurd for for quarterback of Baker's you know caliber.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I still think he's kind of in that top 15 area But he I don't know if he's necessarily a 50 million a year guy, but
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: I could be wrong, he could prove me wrong, and that's completely fine, but I think Baker likes where he's at.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think he loves being in Tampa.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't necessarily think he really wants to go anywhere else, especially with him, you know, beginning his family here as well, and until, you know, they start getting older, his kids start getting older and things with that nature as we start with Mike, then he can start looking elsewhere.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I think he's comfortable here.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think they want to make them the franchise quarterback and it wouldn't be a bad idea.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: At least at least you are solidified in that area and can look to build out other areas.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, everything's going to fall in the defense, right?
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think Baker believes in this offense.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think he believes in what he has and what's going to be able to be pushed forward.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, if the bucks don't go all in on defense and his NFL draft and hit on the majority of these picks, like all of this could be a mood discussion by, you know, next off season.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, high quality.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I could be in volatile right now for for Baker going into this season Like you said it could rely on the defense and how good they are, but yeah, I can't really say Everybody steals are offensive coordinators and like you said there river 2 Liam Cohen was talking about he had a few things to say of course He talked highly
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: by the buck's new offensive corner, but also too, he didn't mention that he was also trying to hire Josh Guzard onto his Jaguar staff as well, but was allowed in and up going to the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: Nick is saying extend him now.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: Baker is going to have a better season this year.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't blame Baker.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: He has a different OC every year, and still puts up good numbers.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: Guzard was just in over his head.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: to get the impression is I think I give this impression by the articles I write in the thing as I know that I'm anti-baker may feel I do like that I feel I think when he is playing the his strengths and when offensive coordinators can allow him to play to his strengths he plays some pretty good football I mean we saw that at the beginning of the year right
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: Um, he was able to play it almost at MVP level basically and I think the question there is that if you can do that consistently over a whole year and if you can clean up some of the other aspects of his game and I think it's getting to the point now where those aspects of his game, uh, the amount of sacks he takes, the amount of fun balls that he has usually leads the league, uh, each year in that metric.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: Um, that's just going to happen.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_02]: with bigger mail that that's who he is that that is the reality that you face.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: So the rest of it has to make up for it.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: And if quarterbacks like sand don't know can get it done in Seattle and play good football guided by a really smart offensive mind and in a strong hand like in that case couldn't could be act last year.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's possible, but there's always limitations that bigger mail field has.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: And because of that, you really need to pair him with the right offensive coordinator.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: This deep ball is definitely not a strength whatsoever.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think Josh was already had him using a lot of those to little success last year I think Liam Cohen understood how to make him Release the ball quick get a short game going focus on your to the catch.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's where Baker may feel kind of thrives in an environment You know allowing him to scramble and then go off platform, but not doing anything too crazy not hold on to the ball too long
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: He said, oh, a lot of nuance that you could make or may have failed.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: And whether or not he's worth 53, 54 million dollars, doesn't really matter even the market value, right?
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: So it'll be interesting to see what they do.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_02]: But like I said, I think there's still a pretty big risk that if you do extend Mayfield and a lot of those negative traits we talked about, come out and full force next year, then you're kind of in trouble for the years coming.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: So both sides really want to get done, both sides like each other.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: I think that makes sense.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: you know to if you think about it that offensive line last year for Baker was not too pretty if you go back twenty twenty four you're in a pretty good spot Graham Barton saw fall off there he had multiple injuries even Tristan worse and me going to the latter latter half of the season man he was hurt I mean I'd see him walk off the field from the press box and that man is in a full lamp but he still tried to do everything in his
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: power to protect his best friend there, and we all know the injuries on the inside of a code you're getting, you know, being done for the season and such.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: So, and he was just starting to find his stride and seen great growth year over year from him as well.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: So, getting that full unit there is going to help immensely for what they want to do on air for Baker, but also to
- 22:33[SPEAKER_00]: and the run game getting buckier Irving back fully healthy I think the gain well pick up is really solid he can do a handful of things just like what buckier Irving can do and right now you're still having Sean Tucker on this team so there's a lot to like there you brought back Kate on who you know I write you know I think all of us on here you know where that ceiling is at with him but he's someone that's reliable specifically two-baker mafe when there's times where a lot of those guys were injured or it's a you
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's a game where bakers click and it's sometimes with Kate on and on has had to step up multiple times, but, you know, and then you're loaded with what you feel like is at wide receiver outside of losing Mike Evans this off season now specifically speaking on Mike Evans.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: Good transition here.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: I did grab a quote here from Joel Glazer.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: just coming from a joe bucks fan who asked to them, you know, the situation with Mike Evans, what happened there and the loss of him, a Joel said, I would say we were unfortunate to have Mike in our organization, not many organizations and franchises, get the pleasure of watching a Hall of Famer player for that long on one team, but at the end of the day, you know, each player gets to make their own choice, and that's for him and his family.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: And for Mike, he felt like this was the way this was the right
- 23:48[SPEAKER_00]: for him right decision for him and we wish him nothing but the best he's a great buckinier we will always he will always be a great buckinier we're obviously sorry to see him go but respect what was best for him a asked to you know are there any regrets that maybe instead of a two-year deal that his last contract should have been there three years
- 24:10[SPEAKER_00]: Or you could have franchise him or figure it out.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's a big deal.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's a franchise legend.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: He said no, you can't look back and what I could have should have this and that.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: And the end of the day after 12 years and everything Mike's done for us.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: Ultimately, you want Mike to do what's best for him because he gave us his all for all those years.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: and he's not the first great player to leave a franchise and move on to another franchise.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: He won't be the last, that's the national football league, he's entitled to have a new experience in his life.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: People do it in all walks of life and for him and his family, we wish him nothing but the best.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: Takeaways from those right there, gentlemen, because as we know, I mean Caleb,
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: He looks like Austin Vizion, our FSU show when we talk about Mike Norville, but yeah, that's on that stuff you're regarding Mike Evans.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: What did you do to try and keep him?
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: other than throw money, what did you do?
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: You did nothing to try and gave him.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like you gave him no assurances.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we're back to the complacency talk.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's complacent.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't do anything.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, you'd rather make a big a cool.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: But that was opposite of what we should have done if you wanted to keep Mike, right?
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I get that you were gearing up for him to leave.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: But like if you were to keep them, why, why are you drafting or why was you in the first round?
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and that's always been an interesting thing.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: There was there no communication between Mike and the bucks last year before they went and drafted a mechabooka like was he just signed it through your deal with 49ers, not he's not done any time.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: don't you think you want to have a conversation with your future hall of fame?
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: Why receiver who's still on your team about, hey, maybe, you know, we're thinking about this.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I understand you don't want too much player, you know, voice in the thing, but I think if you're going to say, you know, Mike's earned this.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: Mike's earned the opportunity to check out other options.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: Then it hasn't he earned the right to have a voice in the decision-making process of what the roster looks like and who you're drafting.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_01]: Right, so I think it's just you're going in circles if you're the glaciers like you're not doing anything the better the team you're not doing anything to make sure that this is heading in the right direction and you're not doing anything to put your best players minds at ease when it comes to the direction of your franchise and it's very clear like
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's just so if you're reading, right, like you didn't do what needed to be done to be able to keep them and that's just what it is ultimately and like instead of taking responsibility for those things you're trying to brush it off as like we can't look at things in hindsight 2020 yes you absolutely can why can't you look in and look back at what you didn't do to make sure this didn't happen or occur and it's just it's just going back to the same thing what are you doing like as an ownership.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_01]: Group I guess what are you doing?
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: Because I know your dad would not be very thrilled with what's happening right now Like I know Malcolm is rolling over in his grave like there's no way that he's not and it's I'm sure I'm not doing I want to feel that way and that that's completely fine, but like I'm over it like
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: We're past that point, right?
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I gotta move on myself.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: But it's just one of those things that really works my nerves.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's like, you didn't do anything to make sure that he didn't leave and said you were like, here's as much money as you possibly want.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: Here's a point check.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's gonna solve your issues, finance it.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: Because monetary value is what really matters.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: No, get the F out of here, do you like, get out of here.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's the way to put it, um, I think like I mentioned before on this podcast, um, now that he's moved up to bossy and he's starting to turn in the boss.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's probably not starting to start to trickle in a little bit.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's quite an awful thing that the books aren't tied up in my given's money at his age at this point, but likely mentioned before as well, if it was just about being outpriced, I think that would be one thing, but clearly it was not just about being outpriced, the books gave evidence a competitive offer.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: and he simply decided he did not want to play for the temperament book and years anymore and that comes down to a number of different things I think Competitiveness wanting to win not think the books can do that His thoughts on how to cause we don't really know we don't really know where his mind is at but clearly the sum of it is that he doesn't think the book and years could win
- 28:34[SPEAKER_02]: and compete for championships so I grew up and that's yeah I mean it's hard not to at this point it's given what we know about the roster and we know about the coaching and what we know everything else but um that's a general statement that can be sent up a lot of different ways but that's what it is and if that's what my game is to do all fair form but you know yeah I mean you kind of guys sit there and be like well
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I doesn't even think we can win, and if you can't figure that out, then I would agree that that's a problem.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, you didn't even wish that's not enough.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: So, I'm gonna, that's the right.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's jump into this real quick.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_00]: We're super excited about price picks partnering with us for this next whole entire year.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be freaking awesome.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: I personally am always making picks, and I usually use price picks as well, and using it for like the last three or four years, whenever it was first available to be honest with
- 29:28[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but if you guys haven't learned about them, you can go in, you can do more or less certainly when we're talking about players.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully when we talk about Baker Mayfield or McKinney Boko, we can do the more on those every single week, but we can pick the yards, passing yards for Baker, we can do Bucky.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: Irving you can do you can do rushing yards.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: You can also do and receiving yards for him Everything imaginable.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna be making some hopefully some really good picks as well What I just looked at too with price picks.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: They just introduced a new feature where you can actually go follow Creators or follow people that are making their picks like us and you can follow and track along and also Tail whatever you would like to do with us if you want to and follow our picks So you guys can go do that as well.

- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: the follow a friends feature or follow someone that is making their picks feature is incredible.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: So a new user offer you play five, get 50 bucks and line up to download the app.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_00]: Using code HMA, the link is in the description below and this show has been presented by price picks.

- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: We're able to go over and make our picks.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: Only when we get into NFL Sundays.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's you know, that's awesome.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_00]: But here's sin.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to make some picks and the NBA MLB whoever else to if you guys have some picks where it's in the chat.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely thumb in there.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: But price fixes awesome.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_00]: We appreciate them partnering with us.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: This entire year gentlemen.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_00]: Are you all ready to make some.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: Are you going to make some picks, man?
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm I'm the gambling head here.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I guess living is kind of too.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, I mean, I, it's been a while.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: I usually just an NFL guy.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: That's usually whenever I do my my picks and my gambling, my sports bed and whatever you want to call it.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, we'll dabble here in what do we have at the A Playoffs here soon.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: Hawking playoffs about to get started.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: Talkie too.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say lightning will be rolling with some hockey.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they sure.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: Baseball getting underway, you know.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out the rent socks on a fine game losing streak to open up the.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's great.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: Your bad luck moving up there, man.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: Bad luck so far.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, that's great.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's good for the race.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's out there, right?
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: Good for the race fans out there.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to the race.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: Jeez, but yeah, shout-priest fix.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_00]: We'll have a lot more to talk about them and our next next episode and we'll make some live fixes well for you guys.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_00]: I Wanted to bring up to I believe I've got something here and I know there's a couple questions which we'll get into here before we wrap up, but
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: There was something regarding, you know, the NFL draft coming out that is in just a few weeks.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of our focus is headed towards that way, ladies and gentlemen, and for, you know, we always give an eye on what Jason Lights talking about, and he always seems to stun us and Shaka's anyways.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_00]: So it's kind of, you can't really predict stuff with Jason Lights, but Joe Bucksman did ask him a question and asked, you know, kind of where he's feeling, do you trade up, do you trade down, kind of where's his mentality?
- 32:57[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, no, it's not too early.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: We go through
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we love our picks.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying there wouldn't be a scenario where we move up, but we have a lot of places where we want to add some depth and add some starters and add some help.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, it would be more attractive to collect more picks, but I'm not saying that we wouldn't move up.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: So, usually the Jason Lai way is to collect more picks.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: Is that going to be the case?
- 33:25[SPEAKER_00]: Or do we see a rare move from Jason Lai to jump up?
- 33:30[SPEAKER_00]: and go grab a tight end, no, I'm just playing, I'm just playing, I'm just playing, I think, uh, April Fools is yesterday.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah, I would be shocked if they moved up in this draft, I think it's, you never know.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's a very small possibility that happens given just how much help they need.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_02]: Moving back, I think it's pretty likely actually, especially given a lot of picks, a lot of players.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_02]: They're struggling with depth all around the defense and they need to really get
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: a strong foundation for next year on the defensive line on the quarterback room, you know, safety, linebackers, all of that.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: They need all that.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: So I do think training back into the first rounds pretty likely and you have mentioned Jason Light likes his surprise and he might so at this point, but I think edge rusher is definitively the number one need for the buck
- 34:31[SPEAKER_02]: you can get that in the first round or the second round I think and have a satisfactory sort of
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: You know, great in the gym and dressing that, but positional value comes in the play.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: You need to line back into play alongside oxen's low name.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: Do you get one of the first round?
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's pretty bad positional value.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_02]: So that'll be something that they have to consider.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_02]: Ed rushers are going to thin out as you get down, but it's a pretty deep class for Ed rushers.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of really talented Ed rushers in this class.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that's what you have to get soon, but I think you can trade down getting extra pick.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: maybe on day two and that would be very beneficial for Jason Light and the book and here to think that would be if you can download the 26 or 27 sort of pick have an extra day two in the pocket that you can use to address those needed and that would be a very good idea.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: but we will see how that goes when it comes to trade leverage everyone kind of knows the bucks want an edge russia so maybe some teams that want one in the middle round like those key measures that those type of players could try and get up there but we'll see how far back they could go they do I wouldn't be surprised at all and I would keep an eye on a trade down trade up I don't think so
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I think that's definitely a play, right?
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, especially with what you're hearing regarding Ty Simpson gaining a lot of traction right now.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, up to the NFL draft, so a guy that could kind of sneak his way a little bit higher right there in the first round, rather than maybe a guy later in the first round or day two type of guy.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so that kind of will change the dynamic of what you're able to do.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Rivers hit and it's, you know, spot on here too, is him saying, you know, getting those 20s get you another day to pick.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the first two picks obviously should be edge.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I think your linebackers should be right after that.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then you have another pick there on day two, why don't go ahead and get another edge recorder.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you need all of these directions.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: You need it, go do it.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever you have to do, make sure that you're, you're acquiring not only,
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: you know, quantity, but you want quality in that as well.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you could, I, I know you joked about the, the tight end thing.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, there was some, you know, chatter coming out.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we saw Sean McBeay use what three tight ends more than, than anybody last season.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: So that's something everybody likes to copy, can't leave, everybody likes to copy what Sean McBeay and Kyle Shannon and are doing.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: So you're probably going to see more teams start to use three tight ends sets and maybe Zach Robinson's going to pull from that as well.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: And if you look at it, I mean, Zach Robinson used what the second most two tight-ends sets last year when he was in the press.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: So that's something to pay attention to.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe you could see, you know, Kenyansidee, or maybe a guy later, um,
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you look at CDG, but because it's just not, you know, 15's not really a spot to take a tight end like that in my opinion.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe later in the draft, you'll get another tight end that has some some capabilities like Oscar Delp there at a Georgia believes where he's from.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: So a guy like that adds to the room.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously you've got pained around which, you know, so so whatever blocking tight end more so.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: And then obviously the guy that we all want to see a little bit more of and dead and cope.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting way to go about it.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: You could go tie it in, but I don't think it's necessarily a need.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you get a guy in the later rounds there, but yeah, I agree with River here.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a perfect opportunity to go ahead and trade back.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: Getting that 20 range drop about 5 to 10 spots there in the first round.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead and get you an edge that is going to be serviceable and probably should be.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: Get a lineback or take a brought re-guess with probably who you really want there in the second round and then pick up another edge there.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: Whether that's a Zion young or somebody like that, but you're gonna need a sideline to sideline guy coverage guy.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean if you're just you know
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: Colleen, as an option, as a lineback from baby, but he really isn't that good when he's down close in the box.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's more of a coverage guide, too, which I was able to only can pretty much cover there.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: So you're looking at Sebracia Dennis as a little bit probably better than Kyle Lewis.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to that, when it comes to stack in the box and being able to get in the back filter and track down running backs on the outside,
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, there's there's the contact issue with the hill out of Texas.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: So he's not real big contact guy and then he does things, you know, really well.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: So it'll be interesting to see what they do.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, again, trading back here seems like the most likely scenario in scenario that should happen.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the Buccaneer's Adressors drafted since 2016 with Jason Lyd 2016 Noah Spence 2019 Anthony Nelson 2021 JTS 2022 Andre Anthony 2023 Yaya Diabian Jose Ramirez 2024 Chris Braswell and this last year of course David Walker and initially you know Lyd Roberts but he more moved on the inside than anything
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: to help out a Collegiate Cancer's injury, but not so Blano, not so Blano in the edge position there for Jason Light.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_00]: He can hit well on offensive line, but something about going to the other side of the ball, man, just continues to hurt him quite a bit, unless it's going over and doing some moves and free agency or going and grabbing a shack bearer.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's just something about an draft.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_00]: They just cannot figure that out, and I still question the Chris Brassball thing,
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: You just haven't seen enough growth from him, but man, Todd Bowle still feels highly on him.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't see it.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't see it.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably a lie that's coaching as well.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: That could certainly help.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_02]: Hard to develop and add pressure once you get them to go in.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: I guess I don't Yeah, I just make this easy and go punch her round one.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: Don't tap Jason light.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to hit her round two second round.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, watch out.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, this is Jeffrey Hill saying I love Baker and I understand the offensive coordinator changes, but Baker has to stop with some of the bone headed the roads.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the thing about Baker, may if he was, he can't do that.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, he can't stop doing it.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_02]: He lives by that sword and he dies by that sword.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: And then that is the brand of football he plays when it comes to a true gunslinger.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_02]: And it may feel it is one of the last of the true gunslingers.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: You kind of have to hope that the good outweighs the bad in that respect, and towards the end of the year last year, it didn't.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, whether or not that's because of injuries, whether or not that's because of other factors.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: That is who he is.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: So, like I said, I thought Liam Cohen did a really good job making him get the ball out quick, not letting him hold the football too long as he takes a lot of sacks.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: And at a quarterbacks, getting a sack, it's half on the quarterback, as much as he does in the offensive line for sure.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_02]: Um, takes a lot of sacks, William Cohen had him get the ball out quick, uh, quick developing routes to a lot for a lot of yards after catch.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, they played the short game because William Cohen knew it.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of how Baker may feel like to operate.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_02]: And the deep ball is not Baker's forte.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_02]: Um, Baker's deep old accuracy last year was quite frankly really bad.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Liam Cohen understood how to make him take it in front of him go out quick and facilitate the offense that way, and that's something that Zach Robinson I think needs to do that's how you cut down on those turnovers that's how you cut down on the fumbles That's how you cut down the picks like I've done all of that so I think whoever works with Baker may feel in this case Zach Robinson needs to understand how to use him as a tool
- 42:11[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and if he can, I think making a place really good football, they he did at the beginning of the year as well.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: They're using his feet scrambling, making plays on nothing.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: He kind of operates best as a quarterback when everything is falling apart, uh, which is pretty interesting.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_02]: So it's trying to get him to that mindset's kind of tough thing to do is not as a coordinator, but, um, got to make him go fast, got to make him go quick, got to make him not think about it.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's the best way to utilize bit for me.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for me.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, uh, you know, at the beginning of last year, like it was said bizarre, it was like, yeah, we're going to, in our ages, they're really pushing the ball down.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think it may feel to want to do that.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_02]: And you got to look at him and be like, no.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: That was kind of like a brahmer last season, right?
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was like okay, well now with Zach Robinson in and the unsuccess that was seen from it.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_01]: Zach's going to be able to sit there and be like, all right, they're no.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: We're not to get your way.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: We're not doing what you want to do.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like we're going to make our Baker may feel in this as much of a plus for Baker as it is a master baker.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: Baker may feel beliefs he can make any throw on the planet.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you can.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_02]: But he thinks he can.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_02]: So you got to harm in that heart and you got to rain in that energy and harness that energy right free cat.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: Excellent.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I did not like that you said that you don't believe the big.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I did to say that.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: She's coming in.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: I did say that.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: She's reading your articles and everything.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_00]: I did say that.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: I did say that.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_00]: I did say that.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think harnessing that energy and rating and the energy is the key to making make her work and I think that Zach Robinson could potentially do that, especially given and he knows Liam Cohen very well.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_02]: He knows he has that relationship.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_02]: He worked at Baker in 2022 in Los Angeles.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_02]: So if anyone can kind of get that out of him, perhaps that would be a Zach Robinson.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: And to be fair, it was in two.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot about Zach Robinson's play calling that was not a fan of for the last few years.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_02]: The Eleanor Falkens.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_02]: But he never had a good quarterback there.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_02]: He never did.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: Not once.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: So if Baker may feel can be that guy, her hand may be they can really open up that offense only time will tell.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I got a shout out Kimberly from Facebook, uh, don't be hate not our boy James is 30 for 30.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_02]: No, you can't.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that was bad.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I mean, it was bad, but I'm entertaining.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: Did you guys just say it was entertaining?
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: Did you guys watch the Vante David's, uh, Yeah, you know, but some of the boys are he's talking about this.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: He was like, he's like, honestly, we didn't even know that he was going to throw a 30.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_01]: Except he was like, we honestly were just like,
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: as a defense who really like just give us the ball so we can get it back to him as many times as possible because no idea what's going to happen.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's a wonder if you're going to have a touchdown next drive.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a pick.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: So you just as a defense you wanted the ball as much as possible because you just wanted to give the ball back to James.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_01]: This is, this is, this is great stuff.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I mean obviously Baker is not
- 45:18[SPEAKER_00]: at where he's not getting as much as the bad side of being a good no not as not as you know let me let me bring it oh no shut it down isn't you but I don't want the gator get involved here on child oh no I mean yeah
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: The combo Chandler went more two men.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think that was.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's another interesting thing.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_00]: That might be in the best hire they may.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think it is.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: Give me the best hire.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_02]: And he worked with that grower than in Atlanta, right?
- 45:46[SPEAKER_02]: So he already knows that woman's pretty well in and out as he coached Fernando Andosa fairly well is the piano.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a lot different.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a lot different than last year where you brought in Josh Grosar just because you wanted to keep some kind of continuity.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the continuity, the scheme and everything.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_02]: Mark on your calendar.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's the order of the day.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, go ahead with the plans.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it was a major major risk there that the box took and we saw what happened to it, but now you're seeing where.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_00]: Zach Robinson, the ties there with wedley.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Colin was doing the offensively where Baker Mayfield had his best season, and then also to his time with the ram, the Robinson, and then also to Chandler Whitmer coming in.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he could have gotten a lot of other opportunities elsewhere, and I'm sure Indiana would have loved to keep him in Indiana because they don't feel like they're done anytime soon as well with how well they feel like, you know, with their talent that they're able to develop plus two.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_00]: with coaching, you know, like that's a goes a long way for them.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_00]: So being able to keep China women or bring them over to Tampa is huge.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_01]: Being able to watch like for me, no, like just going back to every touching on this little bit, like watching for me, I know that cow was completely different experience than watching him at Indiana.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's like an improvement in skill level in players on the roster's right, but like he looks like he looked like a totally different quarterback like he wasn't scared in the pocket.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_01]: He was confident in the pocket.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_01]: He was taking what the defense was giving in.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't forcing things like he wasn't cowling.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's all I would say on Chandler Whitmer for what he was able to do to be able to calm his quarterback down, be able to put him in the best position to succeed and allow him to get outside of that lane that he's in to be able to be successful.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's something that's going to be huge and I agree with you, Logan.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_00]: Corey Fleming here on YouTube is asking,
- 47:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, is my heart take.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, absolutely.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I mentioned this.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_02]: I wrote five prospects the books could should consider in the first round and, um, you know, Vega I only was definitely one of them.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_02]: That guard room, you've got Grand Barton who granted didn't have a lot of health on either side of them with backup guards on either side and center and then Ben Bryson was in and out of line up all year with injuries.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_02]: So with that being in mind, a big fan of I want to help him saying that right.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_02]: And what he, you know, the strength he plays with, especially in their run games on mall on the run game.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_02]: And, uh, it wouldn't be the best pick.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_02]: No, I think defense should be the focus, Ed's Russia linebacker, but would not be upset about that at all because, um, getting guys like that can really help pull through your future for years to come and you can never have enough girlfriends of linemen.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_02]: So, I mentioned if there was one offensive player, the bucks would pick.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_02]: That was not even the player.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_02]: I would like, I'm gonna, he might go a little bit higher than 15.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I like it a lot.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously there was issues and the interior that I'll fit some line Once you lost Malk it was like a whole point.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go I'm in Ben, Brett is in in and out of the lineup.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_01]: You saw I mean, Kadekki with his struggles on the right side.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_01]: It last year as well.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean look at that guy.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_01]: Just this huge No You want to do all right.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_00]: You want to drill out or got it.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean look at that guy.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's a that's a big man
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: And what your offense of mine, which would be, would be fantastic.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_00]: But again, that's true.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: Some work size legs right there.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: I like it.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: We got tree trunks.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: If you can jump out of a pool, we'll talk.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_00]: We're ready to go.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_00]: There's some, there's some lives on board.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_02]: There's some agility questions with him, but as far as pure power and blocking go, and that upper body, and you'll play in the wrong game, especially in a gap scheme.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_02]: The book and yours do use would be very powerful.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say, like, a,
- 49:51[SPEAKER_01]: even with those concerns of his, you know, versatility athleticism, whatever it may be from that position, you can always kind of hide that by pulling your center, right?
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: So you can kind of get away without a little bit depending on which direction you're running.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I think I'm going to be too worried about it and I'm sure he's serviceable enough to be able to get out there if you're talking about, you know, being able to move, move.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: You know, in a run game when you're being able to pull should be offense or defense should be defense if it is offense But you know who it's gonna be right.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna end up being then so I'll pass it There you go.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just because We got to get you got to get a new At first from 50 tough, but we're gonna what we're gonna move back to be able to get out
- 50:39[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's successful right there.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_00]: Typles did say you want some cornerbacks, man.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_00]: You want some cornerbacks.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I think this is going to be a fun cornerback either season to head.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_00]: Zion McCollum did not have a pretty year, ladies and gentlemen last time.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_00]: I am not happy for a year.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_02]: More worried about cornerback.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_02]: and other people.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think that could be a huge tip and point.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_02]: Major issue.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_02]: So they got to figure that one out.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_02]: So if it takes a man sort of laying for that, then it's so bad.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_02]: But you know, you have to move up, you have to move up, you have to move up.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's this way, an easy enough idea of 15, but I need to assume.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I'm not, like, as much as I probably should be paying attention to the corner of that class, I have it because it is such a big need for the bucks, but like, I don't really know a lot of the guys that are out there other than,
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he had an answer earlier.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a bit of a look at some of the guys obviously we saw what happened with the guy from Clemson and his struggles that he's having with his hamstring and he has pulled it.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's not bad.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I don't really know, but you know, maybe that's something we could we could dig into.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking a little bit.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, there will be lots of draft content coming up from us guys.
