Transcript
- 0:12Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to Pink Shade. It's Thursday. That means
- 0:15Speaker 1: we're going to talk about pop culture and Bravo, and
- 0:18Speaker 1: with this guest, I'll probably just talk about a lot
- 0:21Speaker 1: of nonsense that has nothing to do with either. It
- 0:24Speaker 1: is my good friend Doug, butuden and I can't smell you,
- 0:27Speaker 1: so I don't know why you're spraying on your cologne
- 0:31Speaker 1: at this moment.
- 0:31Speaker 2: This is for me. This is this is like it
- 0:33Speaker 2: puts me in a good mood. And so sometimes I
- 0:35Speaker 2: feel like I just kind of sprint because you know,
- 0:38Speaker 2: I'm like, sometimes I'll just brush my teeth right before
- 0:42Speaker 2: I do like a zoom call or something, just because
- 0:44Speaker 2: it makes you feel better.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I did just brush my teeth. See, but I'm a
- 0:48Speaker 1: I'm a tintim, a day toothbrusher.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Rush. You know what, I just got married me tell me.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Okay, So this is a hashtag ad.
- 0:57Speaker 2: This is not a hashtag ad, although I'd love it
- 0:59Speaker 2: to be. I always travel, like whenever we're traveling for work, whatever,
- 1:04Speaker 2: I always bring a little bottle of Listering. Okay, And
- 1:07Speaker 2: and because I love Listing, well, they just came out
- 1:10Speaker 2: with these mini packets. It's a travel packet, a listream
- 1:15Speaker 2: a single use like a little one ounce thing and
- 1:18Speaker 2: you rip it open and you in your mouth. Well
- 1:22Speaker 2: I got a thirty pack game changer seven.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Oh I love it. I will tell you this that
- 1:30Speaker 1: this is a hashtag sponsored hashtag ad hashtag sponsored post.
- 1:34Speaker 1: You turns me on because of your post about the
- 1:40Speaker 1: perfectly Snug.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I reached out to them and I am now a
- 1:47Speaker 1: partner with perfectly Snug mozzletov. Yes, and they were like,
- 1:51Speaker 1: thank you so much. For a friend of Doug is
- 1:54Speaker 1: a friend of ours.
- 1:55Speaker 2: There are great people and it's it's let's face it,
- 1:59Speaker 2: it's an incorrect a bowl beedtopper, right.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Uh, well, it's amazing. And so before I had and
- 2:04Speaker 1: I've told people this, before I had the perfectly Snug,
- 2:07Speaker 1: I had the chili pad Uhler and that is the
- 2:10Speaker 1: same thing, but with water.
- 2:11Speaker 2: That's there, that's the competitor.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yeah, but Doug, you have to clean it all the time,
- 2:17Speaker 1: and when you do clean it is disgusting.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Well, I have heard so because I was looking at
- 2:21Speaker 2: the water based systems versus the air base, and the one,
- 2:26Speaker 2: the one that you have is that you had originally
- 2:28Speaker 2: was the water base. I did research on the water
- 2:30Speaker 2: base versus the air base, and I got and I
- 2:33Speaker 2: heard from all these different people that you know that, truly,
- 2:37Speaker 2: especially in a hot climate, the water based systems do
- 2:40Speaker 2: tend to be more effective because they're actually cooling the water.
- 2:45Speaker 2: But the big caveat is they require a tremendous amount
- 2:50Speaker 2: of maintenance. The ones that I looked at only took
- 2:53Speaker 2: distilled water, and then I heard from people who said,
- 2:57Speaker 2: even with distilled water and they followed all of the
- 3:00Speaker 2: monthly maintenance, there was mildew and mold when they finally
- 3:05Speaker 2: opened up, and that schiathed me out. And then the
- 3:08Speaker 2: fanciest one, which is water based, they have a monthly subscription,
- 3:12Speaker 2: and I was sort of against the idea of having
- 3:16Speaker 2: a monthly subscription for my bed. So then I was
- 3:20Speaker 2: looking about the air based ones. Yeah, and I thought,
- 3:24Speaker 2: you know what, this company has a great return policy,
- 3:27Speaker 2: so I'm not afraid to return it. And then I
- 3:29Speaker 2: was lucky enough to be hooked up with them. But
- 3:32Speaker 2: I have been so happy with mine, so are you.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I'm guessing you like yours.
- 3:38Speaker 1: We love it and I did a thing for it,
- 3:42Speaker 1: and it literally took us seven minutes from out of
- 3:44Speaker 1: the box to get it on the bed and plug
- 3:46Speaker 1: it in and then set it up on the app.
- 3:48Speaker 1: It took no time and we love it and we are,
- 3:51Speaker 1: like I said, we were already used to our bed
- 3:52Speaker 1: being cool.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So there was one night where we were without it
- 4:00Speaker 1: because I had already unplugged the uller to get ready
- 4:02Speaker 1: to throw it out. And I got to tell you,
- 4:04Speaker 1: I just appreciate that I wrote you and was like,
- 4:07Speaker 1: I want one of these, maybe that they'll partner with me.
- 4:09Speaker 1: And they did, and we're continuing our partnership. And I
- 4:13Speaker 1: love my perfectly snug.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Oh hooray for perfectly snug. What is your code?
- 4:19Speaker 1: Uh? It is pink shaped.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Perfectly snug dot com slash pink shaped. And if that's
- 4:24Speaker 2: too much for you to type, you could just say
- 4:26Speaker 2: perfectly snug dot com slash Doug.
- 4:31Speaker 1: You're so funny.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I don't. I don't get a cut of the thing,
- 4:35Speaker 2: so I don't. It doesn't matter where you get it.
- 4:37Speaker 2: But if you are listening, and you should be, just
- 4:41Speaker 2: make sure you're getting the discount.
- 4:43Speaker 1: No, Yeah, I don't buy things without a discount. You know.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I'm that person. And yeah, I think you're similar and
- 4:48Speaker 1: I'm also not afraid to return things. My friends make
- 4:51Speaker 1: fun of me. As matter of fact, Amy Phillips thinks
- 4:53Speaker 1: it is the funniest thing about me that I On
- 4:56Speaker 1: Tuesdays I do my returns. I gather up my things
- 5:00Speaker 1: for the week and I take them to the upstore
- 5:02Speaker 1: and I have my codes to scan. I order a lot,
- 5:06Speaker 1: I try things on a lot. I don't like it,
- 5:08Speaker 1: I return it.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I don't mind, and I think it feels great. You know,
- 5:12Speaker 2: before we started recording, I was telling you about my
- 5:14Speaker 2: new medicine cabinet. Well, yes, I kept and installed one,
- 5:19Speaker 2: but I ordered three, knowing that I was going to
- 5:22Speaker 2: return two of them. Because I didn't, I didn't. I
- 5:26Speaker 2: didn't even open one of the boxes. I accidentally ordered
- 5:29Speaker 2: one in white instead of silver. So then I ordered
- 5:32Speaker 2: my backup in silver, and I kept it in the box.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I didn't open the box. But if the if the
- 5:38Speaker 2: one that I really wanted, the electric one with the
- 5:41Speaker 2: lights and the temperature and all that, if that didn't work,
- 5:44Speaker 2: then I had my failsafe. While I have the guy here,
- 5:47Speaker 2: I would have him install my fail safe backup plan.
- 5:50Speaker 2: But the good one work, so I was able to
- 5:53Speaker 2: return the white one and the silver of my backup,
- 5:56Speaker 2: and I was like, felt great, printed up the labels.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I have my stack of like FedEx plastic sleeves and
- 6:03Speaker 2: ups plastic sleeves ready right at my desk, right above
- 6:07Speaker 2: my printer. That's fine with me.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, it's so funny because I have
- 6:11Speaker 1: a printer too, it's right behind me. And we have
- 6:14Speaker 1: a beach house and have a printer at the beach
- 6:15Speaker 1: house too, because sometimes I get these sOliver to the beach.
- 6:19Speaker 1: And as long as you can print your label and
- 6:20Speaker 1: package your back up because it's a little small little
- 6:23Speaker 1: post office they have there, as long as you have
- 6:25Speaker 1: they'll they'll take FedEx or ups or anything, as long
- 6:29Speaker 1: as you've got it done, your.
- 6:31Speaker 2: The label right, Yeah, ready to go.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So when I was at the beach last week, a
- 6:36Speaker 1: friend of mine's brother sent me a text and said,
- 6:39Speaker 1: are you on the island and if so, do you
- 6:41Speaker 1: happen to have a printer. I've something that just came
- 6:43Speaker 1: through that I have to get printed and notarized. And
- 6:46Speaker 1: my sister said that you're such a dork that you
- 6:48Speaker 1: probably have a printer at your beach house. I go.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I do for returns, I do yeah, it's you know,
- 6:55Speaker 1: so many people don't have printers anymore.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Now. My former neighbor, Josh, he hasn't lived here for
- 7:02Speaker 2: now two years. He came by just a few days
- 7:05Speaker 2: ago and said could I print something? I was like,
- 7:08Speaker 2: are you Mary? Are you serious? Like? Just good? There
- 7:10Speaker 2: are four different staples FedEx kickbol places between my house
- 7:14Speaker 2: and where he lives now. But he comes here and
- 7:16Speaker 2: does his printing here at my house yours every two printers.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Excuse me.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I have a laser which is my black and white,
- 7:24Speaker 2: and then I've got the HP all in one.
- 7:28Speaker 1: That's what I have, an HP all in one.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Is it the eighty ten series?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Let me let me look. No, it's an HP Envy
- 7:40Speaker 1: forty five twenty.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Oh, the Envy. I'm familiar with the Envy with that
- 7:44Speaker 2: very interesting paper loader.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Yes, and I have a I have a different one
- 7:48Speaker 1: at the beach that I couldn't tell you what it is.
- 7:50Speaker 1: This is not interesting to anyone.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I'm sorry all those out I know this is.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Just old people talk with Mary Payne and Doug. Now,
- 7:59Speaker 1: before we start, we were talking about what Bravo we
- 8:01Speaker 1: were watching. So you're not a fan of the Valley,
- 8:05Speaker 1: You did watch Did you watch the first season of
- 8:08Speaker 1: Persian Valley because you know some people on that one.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I watched the Valley Persian stuff. I watched The
- 8:13Speaker 2: Valley Persian Style, but I watched The Valley Persian Style,
- 8:17Speaker 2: but I didn't watch The Valley. And I watched Next
- 8:24Speaker 2: Gen season one, but I haven't. I've recorded Next Gen
- 8:28Speaker 2: season two, but I haven't watched it yet. It's on
- 8:32Speaker 2: my iPad.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Next Gen I just I tried, but it's just too
- 8:36Speaker 1: much like texting popping on the screen, and you gotta
- 8:39Speaker 1: be looking up and paying attention. And these people are
- 8:41Speaker 1: so young. And I am interested in the Gia and
- 8:44Speaker 1: the Brielle. I am interested, and Candy's daughter, I am
- 8:48Speaker 1: interested in that aspect of it, and the Brooks marks,
- 8:52Speaker 1: and I'm not interested in these other people that I
- 8:54Speaker 1: don't know.
- 8:57Speaker 2: They're all so young.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Yeah, they're so young. They have problems that we don't have.
- 9:01Speaker 1: They don't have to worry about their two printers.
- 9:04Speaker 2: These people do not have printers.
- 9:07Speaker 1: They don't tell you that, right, No, what a printer
- 9:10Speaker 1: is exactly. OC has started and watching I think it's
- 9:15Speaker 1: off to a slow start.
- 9:17Speaker 2: That's what a lot of people have said. It's funny.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I'm I'm not one of those people who like kind
- 9:23Speaker 2: of rates the seasons as they're watching it. I'm like,
- 9:26Speaker 2: I either want but I watch it. I'm either like, yeah,
- 9:29Speaker 2: I'm liking it or I'm not liking it. It's like,
- 9:31Speaker 2: but I think it's fine. I don't see any I
- 9:33Speaker 2: don't know why. Why do you think it's slow versus
- 9:37Speaker 2: something out like in Atlanta or something.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I think because really nothing's happening. Now, this doesn't
- 9:43Speaker 1: mean something won't happen. But again, it doesn't matter what
- 9:46Speaker 1: Bravo is going to give me. As far as housewives,
- 9:49Speaker 1: I'm going to watch it. It could be there's all
- 9:52Speaker 1: the time when people go, oh my god, so and
- 9:54Speaker 1: so your real house Beverly Hill season six was horrible.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I was like, first of all, how would you remember that?
- 9:59Speaker 1: Seasons horrible? One reason that was the season where this
- 10:04Speaker 1: that and the other. I'm like, okay, but you still
- 10:06Speaker 1: watch the whole thing. So it wasn't that horrible, you
- 10:08Speaker 1: know exactly.
- 10:10Speaker 2: That's the thing. We're gonna watch it regardless. I watch
- 10:14Speaker 2: every housewife. I don't think there's ever been one that
- 10:18Speaker 2: I haven't watched.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Are you watching the news are you watching the House
- 10:22Speaker 1: of London London?
- 10:24Speaker 2: Of course I am. I'm having a hard.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Time one and I can get into the first episode,
- 10:32Speaker 1: but are you crazy the first one that ended at
- 10:35Speaker 1: that at that party with Panthea and the dentist.
- 10:38Speaker 2: And the drama. No, I'm totally on board. I am
- 10:42Speaker 2: on board.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I need to get into it. I think I'm so
- 10:46Speaker 1: mad at Bravo about canceling Ladies of London that it's
- 10:48Speaker 1: hard for me to do agree to get into another
- 10:51Speaker 1: London show because I'm mad.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Isn't that weird that it disappeared?
- 10:55Speaker 1: Doug? It makes zero sense. After their finale they had
- 11:00Speaker 1: Martha and Emma They're in the clubhouse and like, are
- 11:05Speaker 1: you kidding me? And they had Mark Francis on, and
- 11:08Speaker 1: they'd had everybody on Sirius on all the shows on Sirius,
- 11:11Speaker 1: John Hill and Jeff and Andy, so they.
- 11:13Speaker 2: All didn't Andy say it was ultimately a ratings thing?
- 11:17Speaker 2: Did he say that?
- 11:18Speaker 1: That's what he said? But I don't. I'm so annoyed.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I hope that the outrage will make them at least
- 11:26Speaker 1: consider pausing it for a year and then bringing it back.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Yeah, hope. I was surprised because I really enjoyed it,
- 11:34Speaker 2: and I'm certainly not the you know, the right sample
- 11:39Speaker 2: group in terms of like who the demo is, because
- 11:42Speaker 2: I'm not, but I really I loved it. But I
- 11:46Speaker 2: also loved the Housewives of London. I watched Melbourne, I
- 11:50Speaker 2: watched Chelmsford or whatever the hell it one was. There's
- 11:54Speaker 2: like forty one or forty two different Housewives franchises. We
- 11:58Speaker 2: only get to see a handful.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Okay, well I'm not. Okay, then you're more dedicated to
- 12:03Speaker 1: me because I'm not going into I'm not going into
- 12:06Speaker 1: Australia territory.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Oh, I loved I loved Melbourne. I also watched people
- 12:12Speaker 2: loved it. I think there was another Australian one.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Y'all, as ladies of a certain age, we know that
- 12:18Speaker 1: things are starting to happen. Okay, our skin loses some
- 12:21Speaker 1: glowt elasticity, Your hair and nails have a little bit
- 12:24Speaker 1: more breakage. Sometimes my joints feel more stiff. So let's
- 12:28Speaker 1: talk about why this happens. Okay, your body's natural collagen
- 12:31Speaker 1: production begins to decline in your mid twenties. So if
- 12:35Speaker 1: you don't know, collagen is the crucial protein that provides
- 12:38Speaker 1: structure and support to your hair, skin, nails, joints, and
- 12:41Speaker 1: overall longevity. It's often referred to as the glue that
- 12:45Speaker 1: holds our bodies together. So you can probably imagine that
- 12:48Speaker 1: a decline in collagen production has some big impacts on
- 12:52Speaker 1: your body. But here's the thing. You can actually turn
- 12:55Speaker 1: back the clock on your body's collagen production and start
- 12:57Speaker 1: feeling like you're in your twenties again. Come on now, now,
- 13:01Speaker 1: that's where Bub's natural collagen peptides come in. BUBBS helps
- 13:06Speaker 1: restore collagen levels closer to what your body naturally had
- 13:09Speaker 1: in its youth. That means your hair, skin, nails, and
- 13:11Speaker 1: joints are all getting the proteins you need to stay healthy.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Your body can continue to perform at its best. BUBBS
- 13:17Speaker 1: holds the potential to enhance skin elasticity and hydration, why
- 13:21Speaker 1: also contributing to stronger hair and nails. It can also
- 13:25Speaker 1: significantly alleviate your joint pain improve your mobility. So I
- 13:29Speaker 1: started taking the Bubbs collagen peptides and I, you know,
- 13:33Speaker 1: may have a little more pep in my step. I've
- 13:35Speaker 1: been using bubs really and it's made a difference in
- 13:37Speaker 1: my hair and my nails. They definitely feel stronger. My
- 13:40Speaker 1: left knee is not as achy as it was. And
- 13:43Speaker 1: it's crazy that just one scoop of Bubs collagen peptides
- 13:46Speaker 1: in your coffee each morning can have such an impact
- 13:49Speaker 1: on how you look and feel every day. I put
- 13:51Speaker 1: that scoop in my coffee and it just dissolves, no taste.
- 13:54Speaker 1: You could put it in water, you know water. I
- 13:56Speaker 1: just put it in my coffee. It has zero sugars,

- 14:51Speaker 1: heard about them. Please support our show and say we
- 14:54Speaker 1: sent you. But right now, Doug, I have to tell
- 14:57Speaker 1: you that you know, I cover all sorts of stuff,
- 14:59Speaker 1: right I do the ninety day, I do all the stuff.
- 15:02Speaker 1: But right now I'm deep into pre watching Love is
- 15:06Speaker 1: Blind UK for the next season. And I don't know
- 15:09Speaker 1: if you're a Love is Blind person, but Love is
- 15:11Speaker 1: Blind UK is better than America because of the accents
- 15:17Speaker 1: and what I find so fascinating. And maybe chat gpt
- 15:20Speaker 1: can help me with this. You, maybe you could tell
- 15:22Speaker 1: me when they talk about the areas that they're from,
- 15:25Speaker 1: this one's from Birmingham, this one's from Manchester, this one's
- 15:28Speaker 1: from Wales, this one's from Scotland, this one's from Ireland,
- 15:31Speaker 1: and even when they talk about the sections of London
- 15:33Speaker 1: that they're from, like I grew up here, Oh I
- 15:35Speaker 1: grew up Oh you were across the river. I want to,
- 15:38Speaker 1: like chat gpt a map and say I want a
- 15:41Speaker 1: UK map, but I want these twelve points on it
- 15:44Speaker 1: so that I can see because sometimes they do have
- 15:46Speaker 1: a problem, like you.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Don't do that already. Like when I'm watching anything, I
- 15:52Speaker 2: will pause it and then I will google the town. Yeah,
- 15:56Speaker 2: and then I'll like say, like, oh, they probably go
- 15:58Speaker 2: to this tesco. That's where they get there. I do
- 16:01Speaker 2: that obsessively, So it takes me like three hours to
- 16:04Speaker 2: watch a forty five minute show because I am constantly
- 16:06Speaker 2: pausing and googling.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I think when it's in the United States and they'll say,
- 16:11Speaker 1: you know, it's Love is Blind Charleston, right, So then
- 16:15Speaker 1: they talk about they live in different areas, which that
- 16:18Speaker 1: I can put my mind.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Right, we have your frame of reference.
- 16:20Speaker 1: But when we're talking about something so big and I've
- 16:22Speaker 1: only been to London one time, so I have no grasp.
- 16:27Speaker 1: And then when they say, like last season they had
- 16:29Speaker 1: a couple of though she was in Ireland and he
- 16:31Speaker 1: was in England and they would try to go back
- 16:33Speaker 1: and forth, and I was like, well, that I'm understanding
- 16:35Speaker 1: as a plane ride. So I'm really into it. It
- 16:39Speaker 1: is coming out next week, everybody, it will be the
- 16:42Speaker 1: first episode will be here and then the rest of
- 16:45Speaker 1: them will be on Pinchet Prime. But I am deep
- 16:49Speaker 1: into it because I'm about to.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Say that love is blind. Love is blind. Then there's
- 16:54Speaker 2: also the other one which everybody's talking about, which is
- 16:57Speaker 2: love Island.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Right, so Love Island is not for us. It is
- 17:02Speaker 1: not for us. We are too well.
- 17:04Speaker 2: I tried. I think I was with Crystal Minkoff who
- 17:09Speaker 2: was talking about it, and she said, she's like, you
- 17:12Speaker 2: will hate it, so you have to try it. So
- 17:15Speaker 2: I turned it on.
- 17:16Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I don't. I don't think I made it five minutes
- 17:20Speaker 2: and I thought I could not. I just could not
- 17:22Speaker 2: handle it.
- 17:23Speaker 1: It was it's my son. My son is twenty one,
- 17:26Speaker 1: his girlfriend is twenty. They like it, you know, and.
- 17:30Speaker 2: That they should have their own show.
- 17:32Speaker 1: That's for them, that's for the that's for the youth.
- 17:36Speaker 1: My friends Jake and Matt, who have the podcast Reality Gaze,
- 17:40Speaker 1: they were like, we're gonna we're gonna dive in. We
- 17:43Speaker 1: know these are like straight people in bikinis and they're
- 17:45Speaker 1: going to be stupid or whatever, but we're going to
- 17:47Speaker 1: do it because they you'll hate it, so it'll be fun, right,
- 17:50Speaker 1: I mean they and it's like five episodes a week
- 17:53Speaker 1: and they were immediately like one.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Right, everybody, Yeah, you could fall behind. I have Honest
- 17:58Speaker 2: to god, I have Joemo when it comes to that show,
- 18:02Speaker 2: and probably Love is Blind absolute Jomo not even remotely
- 18:07Speaker 2: interested in that.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Okay, well, Love is Blind is interesting because it is
- 18:12Speaker 1: the people that go like they meet behind a wall
- 18:14Speaker 1: and they only talk to each other and they you know,
- 18:17Speaker 1: now that we know more about behind the scenes, it's
- 18:19Speaker 1: ten days and on the tenth day, that's when everybody
- 18:24Speaker 1: who has decided, even on the first day or the
- 18:26Speaker 1: fourth day to get engaged, they do them all on
- 18:27Speaker 1: the tenth day.
- 18:28Speaker 2: They make you thinks like the dating game, right, So
- 18:30Speaker 2: they get to ask questions without seeing each other.
- 18:34Speaker 1: But they talk to each other for nine solid days.
- 18:36Speaker 1: They do like ten twelve hours shooting days, and they
- 18:39Speaker 1: can decide who they want to go on dates with.
- 18:41Speaker 1: But then they're by like day three, they're really narrowing
- 18:43Speaker 1: it down. So you may spend the next four days
- 18:46Speaker 1: talking ten hours a day to this one person.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Oh my god, do you think the crew will say
- 18:52Speaker 2: to the one person.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Like, no, they're not allowed to say anything. You're not
- 18:56Speaker 1: allowed to say anything.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Do you think do you think that happens?
- 19:00Speaker 1: Because sometimes when the people when they do you know
- 19:03Speaker 1: that the reveal you could tell this one guy is
- 19:05Speaker 1: super superficial and this girl is a perfectly fine looking girl.
- 19:09Speaker 1: But because of what he said, you know she's not
- 19:11Speaker 1: going to meet the expectations or vice versa has happened
- 19:14Speaker 1: that when they when they open the things and they
- 19:16Speaker 1: see each other and they're like, oh, look at you. No,
- 19:25Speaker 1: and then they immediately the guy drops to the knee
- 19:27Speaker 1: and they do the engagement and then then they're stuck.
- 19:30Speaker 1: And then sometimes only once or twice has somebody left
- 19:33Speaker 1: the other one, like on the honeymoon, the vacation they go.
- 19:36Speaker 2: On, and then when money is this, are they motivated
- 19:39Speaker 2: by money to win or no?
- 19:41Speaker 1: We know from behind the scenes that they So there's
- 19:45Speaker 1: that first part, the Pods part did if they couple up,
- 19:48Speaker 1: they go on this vacation together and all the other
- 19:50Speaker 1: couples are there. Then after that they go and they
- 19:52Speaker 1: live together for three weeks, and then after that they
- 19:54Speaker 1: get married. So we do know that if you make
- 19:58Speaker 1: it all the way to the altar, whether you you
- 20:00Speaker 1: say yes or no, then you get more money. So
- 20:04Speaker 1: if you drop out, if you drop out before the altar,
- 20:08Speaker 1: which lots of people do, they're like, I just can't
- 20:10Speaker 1: what's the point of going to standing up there? You know,
- 20:12Speaker 1: I'm going to say, no, you know, what's the point.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Why do we embarrass ourselves this way? But a lot
- 20:17Speaker 1: of people, most people do embarrassing them.
- 20:19Speaker 2: And is there anybody who got married and is still married?
- 20:24Speaker 1: I think they have the American version. They have like
- 20:27Speaker 1: nine couples that have stayed together been married to stay
- 20:30Speaker 1: together over the years. Yeah, it's pretty high rate compared
- 20:33Speaker 1: to like that's.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Other very compared to the national average, right, true marriages.
- 20:42Speaker 1: So I would recommend Love Is Blind's UK. It does
- 20:45Speaker 1: come out next week. Okay, Now, Ultimate Girls Trip first
- 20:49Speaker 1: episode twenty Ultimate Girls Trip. It's season not season twenty seasons.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Already Ultimate Girls Trip, but it's it's like the twentieth
- 21:01Speaker 2: anniversary of The Housewives.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Yes, now, I will say we opened the whole kind
- 21:06Speaker 1: of thing where we're starting in the OC and we
- 21:09Speaker 1: do a lot of Trace Amiga's talk, which I thought,
- 21:12Speaker 1: isn't that fitting that I'm having dug on who's the
- 21:14Speaker 1: quattro Amiga?
- 21:16Speaker 2: Well it was. I did one show with the Trace
- 21:19Speaker 2: amigas in Phoenix with Tamra, Vicki and Shannon, and then
- 21:24Speaker 2: they were like we're gonna book you for more dates.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I said, great, And then a couple of months things
- 21:28Speaker 2: they're like, okay, so it's the Dose Amigas and here's
- 21:30Speaker 2: the schedule. So then it became Dos a.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Mega's e Doug, did you know when they said it's
- 21:36Speaker 1: going to be dos Amigas, did you said which Amiga left?
- 21:39Speaker 2: Well, I had been in touch with Shannon the whole time,
- 21:42Speaker 2: so I knew that. I knew what had gone down
- 21:46Speaker 2: with Tamra after the Phoenix show. It happened like that
- 21:49Speaker 2: night apparently.
- 21:51Speaker 1: So there was there was a scandal.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Yeah, there was something of a of a kerfuffle, I
- 21:58Speaker 2: think so. But listen, I love the Trace Amigas as
- 22:02Speaker 2: the Trace Amigas, you know, eug Or, Eop Dug. So
- 22:07Speaker 2: I would always be a champion for them to get
- 22:10Speaker 2: back together, you know, in life. But it doesn't doesn't
- 22:14Speaker 2: seem like it's gonna happen.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Not on this episode. Well, let's go through. Let's go
- 22:18Speaker 1: through the episode. Okay. I took some bullet points here.
- 22:20Speaker 1: So I loved that we opened iconically with the Ninny
- 22:26Speaker 1: leaks right off the bat. Thank I, thank you. Rom
- 22:31Speaker 1: floored right away there she.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Was what did Nini have done?
- 22:36Speaker 1: Oh well her? I think this is my opinion. I
- 22:40Speaker 1: have no idea, but I do like to study people's
- 22:42Speaker 1: faces because I'm fascinated by it. I do well. First
- 22:45Speaker 1: of all, her skin is just like incredible she I.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Mean her skin was too flawless.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Yes, it's almost like she's a filter, but she's not.
- 22:54Speaker 1: It's I do. If I had to guess, I would
- 22:57Speaker 1: say she had a second nose job, because when we
- 23:00Speaker 1: do flashbacks to reunions where she had had some work done,
- 23:04Speaker 1: the nose looks a little different. I don't think she
- 23:06Speaker 1: needed a first or second nose job, but a while back,
- 23:09Speaker 1: a long time ago, she got her teeth done and
- 23:12Speaker 1: that was before, so I just think she's She was great.
- 23:17Speaker 1: She wasn't too over the top. She came in, she
- 23:20Speaker 1: was respectful to Porsche, and Porscha's like, of course you'll
- 23:23Speaker 1: have to be on it, and She's like, of course,
- 23:25Speaker 1: how could you have it without me? I loved that
- 23:28Speaker 1: we opened with Niini come into Porscha's first thing.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Agreed. I think her eyebrows looked different. That's why I
- 23:36Speaker 2: kept looking at her eyebrows and then they flashback and
- 23:38Speaker 2: I was like, oh, yeah, her eyebrows, eyebrows. Yeah, they
- 23:41Speaker 2: looked so different to me. And she was wearing this,
- 23:43Speaker 2: you know, a blonde I think she was in a
- 23:45Speaker 2: blonde wig for that scene, but I was I was also.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I was thrilled and really surprised to see her because
- 23:53Speaker 2: in my memory, they she ended poorly with the franchise
- 23:59Speaker 2: with the producers, right like, I feel like she threatened
- 24:01Speaker 2: to sue them or there was some kind of bad
- 24:03Speaker 2: blood between her and them. So I was like, that
- 24:08Speaker 2: is a perfect way to start. Because Matt I was like, Wow,
- 24:11Speaker 2: if they're delivering a surprise in the first ten seconds,
- 24:14Speaker 2: we got a whole season of craziness to look forward to.
- 24:17Speaker 1: That's yeah. When the doorbell rang, I thought it was
- 24:19Speaker 1: going to be Pedra. I was like, oh, it's gonna
- 24:20Speaker 1: be back crack. Yeah. So the ladies all go to
- 24:25Speaker 1: meet up in the OC to start this trip. We've
- 24:28Speaker 1: got Kyle Beverly hills Portia, Atlanta, Giselle Potomac, Dicky OC,
- 24:36Speaker 1: Lisa Barlow Salt Lake City, and Teresa from Jersey.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Who also looked beautiful.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I thought, yeah, I think I mean everybody. I did
- 24:48Speaker 1: think at one point Gill's like of course, like, who
- 24:51Speaker 1: else would they get, you know, the icon of Potomac.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I was like, well, she was probably not available. The
- 24:56Speaker 1: person that they wanted, she probably indisposed. So do you
- 25:03Speaker 1: think as we go, because now we've kind of seen
- 25:06Speaker 1: what they're doing, do you think as they go they
- 25:08Speaker 1: will increage? By the way, Oh, did I mention Luen?
- 25:11Speaker 2: Yes, Lana's okay, forgive.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Me Kyle, Lewayne If I didn't, I'm sorry, Kyle, aw Anne, Porsia, Giselle, Vicky, Lisa,
- 25:18Speaker 1: and Teresa. Now do you think as we go they
- 25:21Speaker 1: would include anybody from Dallas or even DC RIP.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I wish they would. I would be surprised, though, well
- 25:32Speaker 2: that this whole thing is about surprises and it's about
- 25:34Speaker 2: twenty years of housewives, so they really should. I mean,
- 25:37Speaker 2: quite frankly, the one person that I would love to
- 25:41Speaker 2: see is Kimberly from season one of the OC, because
- 25:46Speaker 2: Kimberly has always been like a standout housewife to me.
- 25:51Speaker 2: She remember she moved to like Wisconsin or Michigan or
- 25:54Speaker 2: something she got skin cancer season one, So like, I
- 25:59Speaker 2: thought for me, that really would have sealed the deal
- 26:02Speaker 2: for me. But I do think it would be appropriate
- 26:05Speaker 2: for them to pick up somebody and doubt, or at
- 26:08Speaker 2: least stop at Dallas and have chicken feet with I
- 26:11Speaker 2: forget her name, or some pink dog food with the
- 26:15Speaker 2: other one, Camryn Westcott, or like something. Would be nice
- 26:18Speaker 2: to have a nod to that, and maybe maybe they
- 26:21Speaker 2: have to crash a party in DC or like do
- 26:25Speaker 2: something just so that there's a lot to the other franchise.
- 26:28Speaker 1: That's funny. That's funny to crash a party.
- 26:31Speaker 2: If I were if I were a production person, that's
- 26:34Speaker 2: what I would pitch. But listen, I'll take what we
- 26:36Speaker 2: can get.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Okay, Well, they included we know they included for the
- 26:40Speaker 1: big white party at Kyle's house that'll be coming up.
- 26:42Speaker 1: We do know they included Rhode Island at that big party,
- 26:46Speaker 1: so that was that was very new when they included them.
- 26:50Speaker 2: They also included Rhode Island though at Dorinda's house because
- 26:54Speaker 2: we saw where Dorinda isn't that where Durinda says to them,
- 26:58Speaker 2: like you can go fight on the driveway, but you
- 27:00Speaker 2: can't fight in bluestone manner. I don't get like, I
- 27:04Speaker 2: don't I don't get any screeners. I've only seen like
- 27:06Speaker 2: this season on. But somebody was talking about it. Maybe
- 27:10Speaker 2: it was on somewhere on radio Andy how Deirinda was like,
- 27:13Speaker 2: you know, oh yeah, I think it was Kiki. Monique
- 27:15Speaker 2: was talking about it like you you can, you have
- 27:18Speaker 2: to take it outside, and that was to the Rhode
- 27:20Speaker 2: Island people, and that was that was.
- 27:23Speaker 1: At the end of the episode when they showed all
- 27:25Speaker 1: the quick clips.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, coming this season.
- 27:28Speaker 1: I think she was talking about Kelsey and Rosie and
- 27:34Speaker 1: they were fighting and she's let me tell you, by
- 27:36Speaker 1: the way, that's what my mom used to say to
- 27:37Speaker 1: us when we were little. If you want to fight,
- 27:39Speaker 1: you can get broomsticks to go hit your hit each
- 27:41Speaker 1: other in the yard. I mean it's so specific, right,
- 27:44Speaker 1: get broomsticks and meet each other in the yard. Now,
- 27:47Speaker 1: of course we were three girls were like, god, Mom,
- 27:50Speaker 1: but shut you off. Yeah, We're like, we're not going
- 27:52Speaker 1: to do that. Geez. So I love all the cutouts
- 27:57Speaker 1: of the ladies from their first seasons.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Yes, I love who was it who was like Teresa
- 28:04Speaker 2: has changed the most? Is that what they were saying.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I think it was Vicky. Vicky, who is in a
- 28:09Speaker 2: different face and a different body, is like I look
- 28:13Speaker 2: the same.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Yes, they Porscha tried to teach him how to tork,
- 28:17Speaker 1: which was hilarious. I mean, you got it or you don't,
- 28:20Speaker 1: and most of them don't.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Yeah, And they got on the boat. I mean, you
- 28:23Speaker 2: know they got on the yacht. We should say they're
- 28:25Speaker 2: on this this big yacht.
- 28:27Speaker 1: In all the clips about boats, we got the yacht
- 28:30Speaker 1: and all that stuff.
- 28:31Speaker 2: I was born on, but I grew up on boats.
- 28:34Speaker 1: The clips made me so happy, didn't they make you
- 28:36Speaker 1: so happy?
- 28:37Speaker 2: Same? That's one of the things that I love about
- 28:39Speaker 2: this is it's finally appropriate to not just show like
- 28:43Speaker 2: the family van clip, but we can get that family
- 28:46Speaker 2: van clip, and we can get the clip of Porsche
- 28:49Speaker 2: talking about where the train, where the engine is for
- 28:51Speaker 2: the underground railroad, and we can also talk about Teresa's
- 28:55Speaker 2: like it's it's because it's it has every or all
- 28:59Speaker 2: of those franchises in it that we get to see
- 29:02Speaker 2: the throwback the vintage clips of all of them in
- 29:05Speaker 2: one place, which I love.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I love when they're talking about boats and they show
- 29:09Speaker 1: all these different clips of all these different women talking
- 29:12Speaker 1: about boats. And so then we go to the eighties
- 29:16Speaker 1: party at the Quiet Woman. Now in the news and
- 29:20Speaker 1: our Bravo News kind of currently There's been a big
- 29:22Speaker 1: thing about tameras that Shannon acted horrible at the Quiet
- 29:27Speaker 1: Woman during this event. Now we haven't maybe it'll happen
- 29:30Speaker 1: next week, but I mean I didn't see Shannon acted
- 29:32Speaker 1: any worse than Tamra, right.
- 29:35Speaker 2: And ultimately it got them, I guess uninvited from the
- 29:40Speaker 2: finale party or something that they do during this show. Now,
- 29:46Speaker 2: just a little like from the news desk. Today on
- 29:50Speaker 2: Andy Cohen Live, Andy addressed that and said, I think
- 29:56Speaker 2: it was today that they actually softened some of those
- 30:01Speaker 2: scenes between Shannon and Tamra, so we didn't actually watch
- 30:06Speaker 2: all of it in this first episode, you know, he
- 30:09Speaker 2: was saying, and again I'm paraphrasing, but I was listening
- 30:12Speaker 2: this morning. He and John were talking about how you know,
- 30:14Speaker 2: this season of The Ultimate Girl Trip is really a celebration,
- 30:18Speaker 2: and that I guess it got really dark or too
- 30:22Speaker 2: angry between Shannon and Tamra in that Quiet Woman scene.
- 30:27Speaker 2: So it sounded like they either went back and removed
- 30:30Speaker 2: some stuff, or when they were cutting it together, they
- 30:33Speaker 2: purposely sort of left it a little milder than what
- 30:37Speaker 2: really happened. But it was bad enough that they were
- 30:40Speaker 2: not part of the ending whatever it is.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, well I know somebody that did production actually
- 30:48Speaker 1: on this the scene that we saw, so I might
- 30:51Speaker 1: see what I can find out. Have you ever been
- 30:54Speaker 1: there to the quiet woman? Yeah, I've been outside, stood outside.
- 30:59Speaker 1: I didn't go inside.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I've never been. I've always right.
- 31:03Speaker 1: It's right on the street, like there's there's hard right.
- 31:06Speaker 2: You could see. It's like it's on the main road
- 31:08Speaker 2: as it works.
- 31:09Speaker 1: It's on the main road.
- 31:10Speaker 2: It looks so much smaller than than what I was picturing,
- 31:14Speaker 2: you know. I kind of look at their menu. I'm
- 31:16Speaker 2: gotta I'm gonna go to the website and read their menu.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Is that where am I going to get? Like steaks
- 31:20Speaker 2: and chops there? Is that? What it is? Am I
- 31:22Speaker 2: going to get a burger?
- 31:23Speaker 1: Or?
- 31:24Speaker 2: Is it like a refined I really don't know, but.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Just seeing it, I don't think it's refined. I think
- 31:31Speaker 1: it's like like a pub pub.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, gastro pub. They probably have really good fries.
- 31:37Speaker 2: I wonder if they have steak fries though, or shoe
- 31:39Speaker 2: string fries. I hope it's a steak frag. I hope
- 31:41Speaker 2: it's a steak frog kind of a place.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Okay, well, we're not gonna find out right now.
- 31:45Speaker 2: But I'm gonna go I'm gonna look at the menu today.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Okay. So at the eighties party, so Bunko, the Bunco party,
- 31:53Speaker 1: the Bunco party. I used to be in a Bunco group.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Bunco was really fun. You were yes, I was yeah.
- 32:00Speaker 2: And they explained the rules and I did not understand that,
- 32:03Speaker 2: Like you have to roll three different dice and if
- 32:06Speaker 2: you get ones, it's bunko.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Yeah, if you get three ones, it's bunko. I can't
- 32:10Speaker 1: remember the rules exactly, but rolling the one is the thing, okay.
- 32:14Speaker 1: And you want to have like a certain score, like
- 32:16Speaker 1: closest to twenty one. I don't know anyway, So Luanne
- 32:21Speaker 1: and Giselle before they're going to the party, when they're
- 32:24Speaker 1: getting ready, are talking about how Vicki was being a
- 32:27Speaker 1: little aggressive about Teresa's finances and you know, and they
- 32:32Speaker 1: were like, god, you know. And then Vicki also said,
- 32:34Speaker 1: you know, she loves Tamera, but she worries sometimes what
- 32:36Speaker 1: Tamar will say. She's performative for the cameras. I guess
- 32:40Speaker 1: this is the point, like you don't know what she
- 32:42Speaker 1: might bring up or say. It makes you feel a
- 32:44Speaker 1: little unsafe because she might say things just for the camera.
- 32:47Speaker 1: But I'm like, Tama makes the show go. So they
- 32:51Speaker 1: brought out this gross family band to pick up the
- 32:53Speaker 1: women as a trick. I thought that was funny. I'm
- 32:55Speaker 1: sure that was a production planned, but it was like,
- 32:58Speaker 1: these are the this is what I'm loving having all
- 33:00Speaker 1: the throwbacks.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Yes, all these references, and I love that that women
- 33:04Speaker 2: got in and I don't know who, but one of
- 33:06Speaker 2: them was sitting on the floor because we hear one
- 33:08Speaker 2: of the housemens saying, are you sitting on the floor
- 33:10Speaker 2: and she's like yeah, And I thought that's great, you know,
- 33:13Speaker 2: just jump in.
- 33:14Speaker 1: That's funny. So at the quiet woman Tamra has arrived
- 33:19Speaker 1: and on roller skates, on roller skates with a thong,
- 33:23Speaker 1: and Gina Ko was there, who we know is currently
- 33:28Speaker 1: has a health battle, so I was glad to see her,
- 33:30Speaker 1: and Joe was there. But Gina and Joe really didn't
- 33:34Speaker 1: They didn't pop off the page. They didn't. I wanted
- 33:37Speaker 1: them to do more, but I guess we're not there
- 33:39Speaker 1: to see them. It was just nice to invite them.
- 33:41Speaker 2: No, But wasn't it amazing hearing Gina say, well, I
- 33:46Speaker 2: was really the first, the show was really built around me.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I thought that. I was like, oh, I love that
- 33:53Speaker 2: she said. Then I was wondering what Vicky would say
- 33:55Speaker 2: when Vicky heard.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Her, you know when I was waiting for that too,
- 33:59Speaker 1: But they didn't get into it.
- 34:01Speaker 2: I don't think Vicky was there yet. I think it
- 34:03Speaker 2: sounded like it was just a little private conversation. But
- 34:06Speaker 2: Gina Keo definitely says like I was the first one
- 34:09Speaker 2: cast and the show is built around me, which I
- 34:12Speaker 2: totally believe that.
- 34:15Speaker 1: But Vicky is the og of the OC and she
- 34:17Speaker 1: gets up and says that, and I wonder if Genie
- 34:20Speaker 1: Keo's over there going not rolling.
- 34:23Speaker 2: And we got to see that clip of Tamera throwing
- 34:26Speaker 2: the wine in Gina's face, and I had not seen
- 34:28Speaker 2: that clip in a long time. So yes.
- 34:32Speaker 1: So Heather Dubro arrives with the cake with the bow
- 34:36Speaker 1: on it. When she walked up with that cake, I
- 34:38Speaker 1: was like iconic, and she said, can you believe she
- 34:41Speaker 1: hit that cake?
- 34:44Speaker 2: What happened to Sarah?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Oh, well, she's shamed forever. So the Ultimate Girls Trip
- 34:50Speaker 1: Lady arrived. They all the ladies that are on the
- 34:52Speaker 1: cast all arrive, and then this is when Genie Ko says,
- 34:55Speaker 1: Vicky was the longest running housewife, but I was the first.
- 34:59Speaker 1: I was the first, and I love how Kyle is
- 35:02Speaker 1: talking to Joe. And then later she says the production
- 35:04Speaker 1: she goes, who's that she was there? And they show
- 35:07Speaker 1: her talking to her and she's like, I don't I
- 35:10Speaker 1: don't know. Right now, Shannon arrives in her costume that
- 35:15Speaker 1: she has ready to go at any time, she has
- 35:17Speaker 1: this same costume, always ready to go. She loves a
- 35:20Speaker 1: rocker costume. She's ready and.
- 35:24Speaker 2: They asked her if that's her missus Roper.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Wig and they showed that. I was like, that's clearly
- 35:29Speaker 1: not the same wig.
- 35:29Speaker 2: But I love that clip.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I love seeing that Clyph too.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Yep yep.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Vicky tells us that she and Shannon are close, that
- 35:39Speaker 1: they are still close, and she was upset with Tamra.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Vicky was upset with Tarma when she broke up the
- 35:46Speaker 1: Trace Amigas, and there's still a lot of tension between
- 35:48Speaker 1: Tamara and Shannon, even though you know they're filming together,
- 35:51Speaker 1: there's still a lot of tension. So Vicky gets up
- 35:55Speaker 1: and does this very strange speech. She welcomes everyone to
- 35:58Speaker 1: the Quiet Woman and twenty fifteen, Slade Smiley told her
- 36:02Speaker 1: she looked like miss Piggy And at the Bunko party,
- 36:04Speaker 1: she and Gretchen got in this huge fight and everybody's like,
- 36:07Speaker 1: what now, this would be the time to use the
- 36:10Speaker 1: sleep the snory and they're all like, he's the pig
- 36:14Speaker 1: who cares keep your face whatever. And the funniest thing,
- 36:17Speaker 1: Lisa Bartlow is like, I don't think you need to
- 36:19Speaker 1: fix your face at all, and they're like, she already
- 36:21Speaker 1: fixed it. She's like, oh, okay, looks great. Fish's great.
- 36:25Speaker 1: So tonight she wants to redo Bunko. She wants to
- 36:27Speaker 1: go forward, not backwards. And then for some reason she
- 36:31Speaker 1: puts up like memorial pictures of Gretchen and Gretchen and
- 36:33Speaker 1: Sleigh with candles, and they're like, Porscha goes, is it satanic?
- 36:37Speaker 2: I mean shrine? It was like a weird shrine. Yeah.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Porchia was like you could have just called them. They
- 36:43Speaker 1: live around the corner. So Lou gets the photos, breaks
- 36:48Speaker 1: some and goes the party started. Let's go. I mean,
- 36:52Speaker 1: so Gizelle's like, this has gone dark, but I don't
- 36:55Speaker 1: know what's going on, but okay, So they all sit
- 36:58Speaker 1: to like eat and play bunka, and Tama congratulates Vicky
- 37:03Speaker 1: on getting her orange back, and then we got to
- 37:05Speaker 1: see the clip of that which may be happy, and
- 37:09Speaker 1: she says, thank you for recreating this party. No one's
- 37:12Speaker 1: going to make fun of your looks. And then everybody's like, well,
- 37:15Speaker 1: that wig is terrible. That we will say that her
- 37:19Speaker 1: wig is horrible, and Tamara raises her glass to get
- 37:23Speaker 1: attention and says, here's to twenty years. Thank you, Wicky, Vicky.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Let's give a woo. Who they play bunko now? Tamra says,
- 37:30Speaker 1: I've hired some hot eighties guys to come and keep score.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Giselle's like, I mean I didn't think they were hot,
- 37:35Speaker 1: but you bring out the men, and lu Wan is
- 37:38Speaker 1: ready because they are men with penises, so she does
- 37:41Speaker 1: a care. So the guys come out. I was like,
- 37:44Speaker 1: I kept looking at them. I was like, is one
- 37:45Speaker 1: of them going to be like Terry debrou Like I
- 37:47Speaker 1: didn't understand.
- 37:48Speaker 2: I know it's going to be nice. Yeah, I thought
- 37:50Speaker 2: it was going to be the husband's first. In fact,
- 37:52Speaker 2: I kept looking like, is that one of the husbands?
- 37:54Speaker 2: Is that Eddie?
- 37:55Speaker 1: Yeah? No, everybody's screeching so much screeching, and Lisa Barlow
- 38:02Speaker 1: is trying to make get one of the guys to
- 38:04Speaker 1: take a picture and she's like, got her ring light.
- 38:07Speaker 1: She's like, no, you have to do this, so you
- 38:09Speaker 1: have to do this. No, you do this and then
- 38:10Speaker 1: you lean and then you twit. I was like, I
- 38:12Speaker 1: need to take notes.
- 38:14Speaker 2: She Lisa Barlow took ownership everybody. She's like, we don't
- 38:18Speaker 2: care about the game, we care about the selfie. And
- 38:20Speaker 2: so she directed this guy and then made everybody move
- 38:25Speaker 2: and told him how to hold it and how to
- 38:26Speaker 2: hold the light. But their pictures were cute.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I gotta say, listen, I need to take a lesson.
- 38:34Speaker 1: So Gizelle Gazelle, because she wants to stir the pot,
- 38:39Speaker 1: says to Tamaran and Shannon Shannon at the table, do
- 38:41Speaker 1: you guys hate each other? Like what's going on? And
- 38:44Speaker 1: Tamar goes no, I mean but last season with Shannon,
- 38:47Speaker 1: I tried and Shannon goes no, no, and Tama goes, well,
- 38:52Speaker 1: that's your story, and Shandon goes, it's not my story,
- 38:55Speaker 1: it's the truth. And Shanna says she filmed with Tamar
- 38:59Speaker 1: and just let the prior year ago, they had a
- 39:01Speaker 1: good time, they filmed with each other and moved forward.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Now are we talking about the current season we're watching twenty?
- 39:08Speaker 1: Are we talking about nineteen?
- 39:09Speaker 2: No? I think we're talking about nineteen.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Okay, all right, And then all of a sudden, randomly,
- 39:16Speaker 1: Tammar goes, girl, I'm good. I'm the one with the
- 39:18Speaker 1: husband and the kids going to college, and the one
- 39:20Speaker 1: who has everything. I'm not the one struggling. I was, like,
- 39:22Speaker 1: I do believe all three of Shannon's kids have graduated
- 39:25Speaker 1: college successful case.
- 39:27Speaker 2: I took note of that.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Also, what does that mean I've got a kid going
- 39:30Speaker 1: to college, Well, you've got one that doesn't speak to you.
- 39:32Speaker 1: So Shanna doesn't have that.
- 39:34Speaker 2: I thought the same thing. I thought. Both Shannon's daughters
- 39:37Speaker 2: are by all accounts, thriving in the world.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yes, very successful. So I'm the one who has everything.
- 39:44Speaker 1: I'm not the one struggling. And Shannon goes what she was,
- 39:46Speaker 1: I filmed with you after you treated me horribly and
- 39:49Speaker 1: you called me one night you called me a C
- 39:51Speaker 1: word eighteen times at a dinner table, So I don't
- 39:55Speaker 1: want to have this conversation. She gets she walks off.
- 39:58Speaker 1: She tells Tama that she's delusional. And she doesn't, and
- 40:02Speaker 1: I guess this is probably where it got bad that
- 40:05Speaker 1: they cut it out, because she's walking kind of back
- 40:08Speaker 1: and forth and telling Tamra she's delusional, and then taman
- 40:11Speaker 1: does the whole like, I'm not the one who drinks
- 40:12Speaker 1: too much. Yes, and Shannon, that's sort of where it
- 40:16Speaker 1: ended for us, right is when when she did that,
- 40:19Speaker 1: Well she did that, And then Shannon goes, you're the
- 40:22Speaker 1: one that says you're never drinking again, and then you
- 40:26Speaker 1: five hours later couldn't put two words together at a
- 40:28Speaker 1: table and quit the show. And Gazelle goes, well, this
- 40:32Speaker 1: was not productive, So well, Giselle, you started it. So
- 40:36Speaker 1: Shannon's walking around and saying, Tamara is calling me a
- 40:39Speaker 1: drunk again. So then Tammer's like, I was a good
- 40:42Speaker 1: friend and it took all her calls when she was drunk,
- 40:45Speaker 1: And then Lisa Barlow says, I don't like this. The
- 40:48Speaker 1: way that Tamara is acting feels icky. Shannon was in
- 40:50Speaker 1: the worst part of her life, like getting a divorce
- 40:53Speaker 1: and then the John Chances stuff and Tamer's like using
- 40:55Speaker 1: it against her, and it feels icky to me, And
- 40:58Speaker 1: I agree with that. I think that they do a
- 41:01Speaker 1: lot of this, Like, well, off season, you told me this,
- 41:04Speaker 1: and I don't know. I just think sometimes I don't know.
- 41:07Speaker 1: I just how could you ever be friends with anybody
- 41:09Speaker 1: in this world? You could never you, They wouldn't be
- 41:12Speaker 1: your real friends ever, for fear they would bring something
- 41:15Speaker 1: up later that you told them. Of course, Vicki's like,
- 41:18Speaker 1: can we just have cake? Can we just have cake?
- 41:20Speaker 1: Can we have cake? Y'all? At this stage of my life,
- 41:24Speaker 1: I'm realizing how much my sleep or lack of sleep
- 41:27Speaker 1: actually affects everything, energy, mood, focus, any kind of health thing.
- 41:34Speaker 1: It all comes back to sleep, especially mood, Like you
- 41:37Speaker 1: really don't want to be around me if I haven't
- 41:39Speaker 1: gotten eight hours of sleep. And at some point you
- 41:42Speaker 1: stop chasing trends and start investing in comfort that lasts,
- 41:45Speaker 1: like is it worth it to be hot and miserable
- 41:47Speaker 1: while you sleep? Or is it worth it to invest
- 41:50Speaker 1: in a good night sleep and get yourself some amazing
- 41:53Speaker 1: eight hours. Ball and Branch Betting is designed for exactly
- 41:57Speaker 1: that kind of rest. From their signature organic sheets to
- 42:00Speaker 1: plush pillows, breathable blankets, and temperature regulating comforters, everything is
- 42:06Speaker 1: made to create a bed that truly supports your good sleep.

- 42:12Speaker 1: They're built to get better over time. This is the
- 42:15Speaker 1: kind of sleep you should not have to compromise on anymore.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Now a lot of customers will start with their sheets,
- 42:20Speaker 1: but once they filled them, they upgrade the whole bed.
- 42:22Speaker 1: They get those waffle blankets and everything. We've now gotten
- 42:26Speaker 1: two sets of Bowling Branch sheets for our beds, and
- 42:28Speaker 1: when we change the sheets, we aren't mad like this
- 42:31Speaker 1: is the week we have to use the terrible old sheets. No,
- 42:33Speaker 1: we've got Bowling Branch, so every time we switch, that's
- 42:35Speaker 1: what we have, and they do get softer over time.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Now it's Bowling Branch all the time at our house.
- 42:41Speaker 1: And we just got the waffle blankets for our bedroom,
- 42:44Speaker 1: and now we have their towels. We're just fully a
- 42:47Speaker 1: Bowling Branch house at this point. You should upgrade your

- 43:13Speaker 1: So Gizelle says to Tamra, Vicky told us earlier today
- 43:18Speaker 1: that she can't trust you. She said it to me
- 43:20Speaker 1: and Luanne. So there was a cut there after Shannon
- 43:23Speaker 1: was kind of going back and forth to can we
- 43:25Speaker 1: just have cake?
- 43:27Speaker 2: To Giselle saying what Vicky had said about her.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Yeah, well we cut, but we cut away from the
- 43:34Speaker 1: Tarma Shannon fight. Yes, so there was something. There's unseen
- 43:39Speaker 1: footage there.
- 43:39Speaker 2: So that must be where it got darker.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Too too much for them, too much for them, So
- 43:45Speaker 1: Gizelle says, and.
- 43:46Speaker 2: They are loud. They really, they really. I mean I
- 43:49Speaker 2: felt like, oh, yeah, I guess these these OC women
- 43:52Speaker 2: are louder than the other franchises in a way. Although
- 43:55Speaker 2: Atlanta gets pretty loud, but I mean they all get loud.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Now that take calm down.
- 44:02Speaker 1: She's yeah, yeah, yeah, that's true, that's true. And definitely
- 44:06Speaker 1: Jersey can get fucking loud.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, of course, yeah, yeah.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Okay, So Gizelle has told Tama this situation. Vicky told
- 44:13Speaker 1: us earlier today she can't trust you. She said it
- 44:15Speaker 1: to me Luan. So Tama is like what. So Tamara
- 44:20Speaker 1: takes Vicky over to a table and says, Giselle says,
- 44:23Speaker 1: you were talking shit about me, which is not exactly
- 44:26Speaker 1: what she said, but that's creation. Yeah, and Vicky goes, no, no,
- 44:31Speaker 1: I just said that. No, sometimes like you just do things,
- 44:34Speaker 1: and I get kind of worried, and she goes, well,
- 44:36Speaker 1: she said that you talked shit and that you that
- 44:38Speaker 1: I make up things, and Vicky says, no, I never
- 44:41Speaker 1: said that you made up lies, which she didn't say that.
- 44:44Speaker 1: She didn't say that. She says, I just kid.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Does Tamra know that?
- 44:48Speaker 1: Is it?
- 44:48Speaker 2: Because Tamra does this also for a living, like she
- 44:51Speaker 2: knows what's going to be interesting and more salacious or
- 44:55Speaker 2: you know, drive more drama.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, Tamra does know what job is. And Vicky goes,
- 45:02Speaker 1: I just get scared of being around you because of
- 45:04Speaker 1: all the conflict I'm going to point in my life.
- 45:06Speaker 1: I just don't want this conflict, and so when I'm
- 45:09Speaker 1: around you, there seems to always be something, so it
- 45:11Speaker 1: makes me scared. And then Terre was like, what are
- 45:14Speaker 1: you talking about? And Vicky goes, it's because of the
- 45:16Speaker 1: trace amigas and she goes, well, who cares and Vicky says,
- 45:19Speaker 1: it affected us. It affected all of us. So that's
- 45:22Speaker 1: why I get scared of conflict with you. I worry
- 45:26Speaker 1: about how you treat other women, and I worry that
- 45:29Speaker 1: I am next, which I think is sort of like
- 45:32Speaker 1: the through line of all these shows. Right, A lot
- 45:35Speaker 1: of times you think you don't always see women that
- 45:38Speaker 1: are really good friends. Season three, they may be like, well,
- 45:41Speaker 1: we got to stir some shut up, so they may
- 45:44Speaker 1: turn on their friend, which I hate because I feel like, yeah,
- 45:47Speaker 1: if you're really really friends, you don't have to do that.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Like I feel like Kyle and Teddy or Tama and
- 45:53Speaker 1: Teddy are real friends that probably know a lot about
- 45:57Speaker 1: each other that they don't.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Say, and also that they can work through, but actually
- 46:03Speaker 2: work through it as opposed to just like, okay, let's
- 46:06Speaker 2: start fresh like that it never works, or if you're
- 46:09Speaker 2: feeling a certain way, come to me, Like every single
- 46:13Speaker 2: housewife has said that every single season, it just doesn't work.
- 46:18Speaker 1: It doesn't work, doesn't work. So Tammer goes, what do
- 46:23Speaker 1: you mean is it? Because I call tan Is called
- 46:26Speaker 1: Shannon out on her drinking, and Vicky says, yeah, it's
- 46:30Speaker 1: not your place. Let her deal with it, and I
- 46:33Speaker 1: loved that. I was like, okay, Vicky, because Vicky could
- 46:36Speaker 1: have said, like, yeah, we all know Shannon has a
- 46:38Speaker 1: drinking problem. But but she said, yeah, it's not your place.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Let her deal with it. She didn't agree or disagree.
- 46:43Speaker 1: She just said, it's not your place, it's her. It's
- 46:46Speaker 1: her thing to deal with, not yours. Don't worry about it, which.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Is about Channing. Let Shannon be about Shannon. Yeah.
- 46:53Speaker 1: So then Vicky says, look, Gizelle is just a poster. Okay,
- 46:57Speaker 1: you know, what was the point of her doing that? Like,
- 47:00Speaker 1: that's not her business either. So they hug it out
- 47:03Speaker 1: and so now of course they're like eyeballs on Gizelle,
- 47:05Speaker 1: trying to search it up when this is supposed to
- 47:07Speaker 1: be like harmonious. And then Heather talks to the ogs
- 47:13Speaker 1: and says, thank you for paving the way for all
- 47:15Speaker 1: of us. Let's have cake. Somebody can eat the bow.
- 47:18Speaker 1: They do cheers. I really wanted I really wanted that
- 47:21Speaker 1: cake to come with part of the bow missing. I
- 47:23Speaker 1: thought that would have been funnier.
- 47:24Speaker 2: I thought, oh, I thought she had taken it off.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Was the bow there?
- 47:28Speaker 1: It looked intact to me?
- 47:30Speaker 2: Well, then maybe this was their chance to redo everything
- 47:33Speaker 2: the way they were redoing. Bunco ever, was able to
- 47:35Speaker 2: serve the cake the way she had originally intended.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Maybe that's so funny. Well, I'm excited that as we're
- 47:42Speaker 1: going forward that we're that now we sort of know
- 47:46Speaker 1: what it's about. And I wonder if so, like on
- 47:49Speaker 1: this last episode, Giselle and lu Ane were roommates because
- 47:53Speaker 1: they do each other from the Love Hotel, I wonder
- 47:56Speaker 1: if each time they're going to make people switch up
- 47:59Speaker 1: who their roommate is.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I hope so, I hope so, and it's not. I mean,
- 48:03Speaker 2: I kept thinking because I watch on Bravo TV through
- 48:07Speaker 2: my directory, so like there are still commercials and stuff.
- 48:10Speaker 2: And although I used to be dop do pass commercials,
- 48:13Speaker 2: now I tend to scroll or google during commercials, So
- 48:17Speaker 2: I really enjoy the commercial breaks. But I put so
- 48:20Speaker 2: much thought into the logistics behind it, like how many
- 48:25Speaker 2: suitcases and all of these looks and like, oh, well,
- 48:30Speaker 2: you know, like Vicky didn't need a suitcase for this
- 48:32Speaker 2: first leg because it was going to be an OC,
- 48:35Speaker 2: but then when she travels she will needs like it.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Just that's all I kept thinking about is and again
- 48:42Speaker 2: having traveled with Vicky and Shannon specifically knowing how much
- 48:49Speaker 2: they bring just for an overnight, like three Bellman's carts.
- 48:55Speaker 2: When we went like on and overnight, I kept thinking,
- 48:59Speaker 2: like how many these support vehicles are there, you know,
- 49:02Speaker 2: like towing all the luggage and the glam people and
- 49:06Speaker 2: the stuff. You know.
- 49:07Speaker 1: I do wonder though that you're saying that, because por
- 49:09Speaker 1: should they show to with three suitcases And there's no
- 49:11Speaker 1: way she could take those three suitcases for fourteen days?
- 49:14Speaker 1: So you do wonder now that I'm thinking about it,
- 49:17Speaker 1: And I'll ask my friend that works in production if
- 49:19Speaker 1: he knows if they shipped things like okay, when we're so,
- 49:25Speaker 1: ship this to La, you know, ship these twos for them? Yeah,
- 49:29Speaker 1: I want.
- 49:30Speaker 2: And then they could also shed stuff like as they
- 49:33Speaker 2: leave a city, they can ship some stuff back. Yeah,
- 49:36Speaker 2: waiting for them because they have they had events during
- 49:40Speaker 2: the day, the head events at night. And now I
- 49:42Speaker 2: also understand with women, a lot of it also comes
- 49:46Speaker 2: down to shoes and which person you're going to carry
- 49:49Speaker 2: with which shoes and if you're not even sure, then
- 49:52Speaker 2: you need to bring your backup thing. Like that's something
- 49:54Speaker 2: that I just you know, I went to Asia for
- 49:57Speaker 2: three weeks in a carry on, and I just I
- 50:00Speaker 2: know that that's not going to be a reality for
- 50:03Speaker 2: any of these women.
- 50:05Speaker 1: How did you wash your clothes? I'm always concerned about
- 50:07Speaker 1: you need underwear, you need fresh T shirts.
- 50:09Speaker 2: I one of my favorite things to do, Mary Pay
- 50:11Speaker 2: when I'm traveling is to find a local laundromat like
- 50:14Speaker 2: a fluff and fold not at the hotel, because it
- 50:17Speaker 2: cause of fortune.
- 50:18Speaker 1: It does.
- 50:19Speaker 2: And I like having an errand to do like a
- 50:22Speaker 2: local errand when I'm traveling somewhere. So I would find
- 50:25Speaker 2: a local laundromat. You drop it off in the morning,
- 50:28Speaker 2: and like I would say, seven times out of ten,
- 50:31Speaker 2: maybe even eight out of ten, you pay a few dollars,
- 50:34Speaker 2: they'll deliver it to your hotel by end of day.
- 50:37Speaker 2: A couple of times I've had to go and pick
- 50:39Speaker 2: it up, but most times they'll just drop it off
- 50:42Speaker 2: at your hotel. And so it's not good if you're
- 50:45Speaker 2: staying one day in each city. You need to have
- 50:47Speaker 2: at least two days in one city. But that's what
- 50:50Speaker 2: I like to do. I'll just drop everything off and
- 50:52Speaker 2: have it laundered and send back to the hotel.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Yeah, we learned the hard way when we did that
- 50:58Speaker 1: trip a couple of years ago where we were in
- 51:00Speaker 1: Paris for five days and then London for five days.
- 51:03Speaker 1: There's four of us, and so we said, okay, before
- 51:05Speaker 1: we leave Paris with the hotel here, we'll just get
- 51:07Speaker 1: our laundry done and then we'll have cleaned when we
- 51:10Speaker 1: go on to London. She got to London, it was
- 51:12Speaker 1: going to be Christmas, so we're like, we're not going
- 51:14Speaker 1: to do it. Then that was like the price of
- 51:17Speaker 1: two meals to have four people. It was like five
- 51:20Speaker 1: dollars for an underwear.
- 51:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's like four euro just for one pair of underwear.
- 51:25Speaker 2: And we don't want to be like that weird woman
- 51:27Speaker 2: who made that video about washing her underwear in the
- 51:30Speaker 2: coffee maker. Did you see that in the hotel coffee maker?
- 51:34Speaker 1: That makes no sense because she wanted hot water. It
- 51:37Speaker 1: makes no sense.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Well that's what she was saying. She was like, the
- 51:39Speaker 2: hot water cleans it and flushes it through. I mean,
- 51:43Speaker 2: the weird thing is she then said she was making
- 51:45Speaker 2: it up, but I don't know if she really was
- 51:48Speaker 2: making it up. He was just trying to get out
- 51:50Speaker 2: of because they ended up suing her. They sued her
- 51:54Speaker 2: the hotel chain. We had to change all the all
- 51:57Speaker 2: the coffee makers, and of course some sleuth was like,
- 52:00Speaker 2: I know that hotel, that's the such and such hotel.
- 52:03Speaker 2: So then everybody knew what hotel it was. So then
- 52:05Speaker 2: they had to make a statement saying they were replacing
- 52:08Speaker 2: all their coffee makers. Blah blah blah. Nobody should do
- 52:13Speaker 2: that anyway, but.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Yeah, washing with hot water with shampoo used to do that, right,
- 52:20Speaker 1: and then hang up and then I'm sorry to whatever
- 52:22Speaker 1: cleaning person comes in, I said. We went on a
- 52:25Speaker 1: a Disney cruise several years ago, and I got into
- 52:28Speaker 1: my room and realized I had literally packed the underwear
- 52:31Speaker 1: on my body and like one other underwear and we
- 52:34Speaker 1: were there for like four night. I was like, I'm
- 52:36Speaker 1: gonna make this work. So I just every day wash
- 52:39Speaker 1: my and then hung it up. And I was like,
- 52:41Speaker 1: I'm so sorry to our to our room.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Housekeeping, but they had I did a Disney cruise. I
- 52:47Speaker 2: did a Disney cruise so long ago that in the
- 52:51Speaker 2: Hercules show, you know, because they do a different shot night.
- 52:56Speaker 2: Jennifer Hudson was one of the chorus sing in the
- 53:01Speaker 2: Hercules show on the Disney cruise. That's so I saw
- 53:05Speaker 2: pre American Idol.
- 53:07Speaker 1: How did you all know that? How did you know that?
- 53:10Speaker 2: Because I guess when she was on American Idol or
- 53:13Speaker 2: when she became famous. She talked about when she was
- 53:15Speaker 2: on the Disney cruise and the friend that I was
- 53:18Speaker 2: on the cruise with has photos and he showed me.
- 53:21Speaker 2: He was like, this is Jennifer Hudson. And I mean,
- 53:23Speaker 2: it's definitely Jennifer Hudson. But they were washing machines on
- 53:29Speaker 2: each floor, I think each deck, as they would say
- 53:32Speaker 2: they did.
- 53:33Speaker 1: But what am I going to do? Take one pair
- 53:34Speaker 1: of mounds every day? So I was like, I'll just
- 53:37Speaker 1: watch it in the seek. Anyway, I'm going on another
- 53:40Speaker 1: Disney cruise in January. I'm like the highest level and
- 53:43Speaker 1: I mean I don't have young children. I just go.
- 53:45Speaker 1: We just do concierge level, everything adult. We never have
- 53:49Speaker 1: to beat around any children. The shows. The shows are
- 53:52Speaker 1: spectacular with the food is good. We go to like
- 53:55Speaker 1: their five star restaurant there, the rimmy amazing. Where how
- 54:00Speaker 1: are we going this time? They always go to Nasau
- 54:01Speaker 1: and never get off because who cares?
- 54:05Speaker 2: And then they stop at the Disney Island.
- 54:07Speaker 1: Now they have two islands Oh, so the first one
- 54:11Speaker 1: is Castaway Do you say k or key, It's Key.
- 54:15Speaker 2: I think it's Key spelled K.
- 54:17Speaker 1: So it's Castaway Key. Now that used to be Pablo
- 54:19Speaker 1: Escobar's island.
- 54:22Speaker 2: Oh I didn't know that.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Yes, they show you like here's the runway where the
- 54:25Speaker 1: drug planes would come in. Yes, it was Pablo Escobar's
- 54:29Speaker 1: island that you saw on Narcos like for real. And
- 54:33Speaker 1: then they just bought a second island. And then that
- 54:36Speaker 1: one's called like Lighthouse Key or Lookout Key and it
- 54:42Speaker 1: just opened. So our boat's gonna go there as well.
- 54:44Speaker 1: But I don't know where they got that island from.
- 54:47Speaker 1: I hope it's not an island that we don't want
- 54:50Speaker 1: to go to, but it's.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Well they I remember hearing that they owned they built
- 54:55Speaker 2: up Castaway Key specifically so that they could skirt paying
- 55:01Speaker 2: the fines for draining drink, like the sewage cleaning or
- 55:04Speaker 2: they're long whatever it is. There's services that Disney does
- 55:08Speaker 2: at their little island which that they don't have to
- 55:11Speaker 2: do it in the Port of Call. They're able to
- 55:14Speaker 2: either process the sewage or the water plant or the laundry.
- 55:19Speaker 2: There's something there that's why they all stop there and
- 55:21Speaker 2: you know, go spend the day at the beach and
- 55:23Speaker 2: the barbecue. But it's because the ship itself is using
- 55:26Speaker 2: that stop to take care of some of the services.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and they only ever have your boat is there.
- 55:32Speaker 1: They never have two Disney boats there, so it's nobody
- 55:35Speaker 1: there but the people from your boat, which is nice.
- 55:37Speaker 1: And then now they've got this second island, so they
- 55:39Speaker 1: rotate and I don't know where that second island came from.
- 55:43Speaker 1: I don't know what you think.
- 55:44Speaker 2: And now they have a lot. They have more ships too.
- 55:46Speaker 2: When I went, I feel like there were only two ships,
- 55:49Speaker 2: the Wonder and the Magic, I think, and I went,
- 55:52Speaker 2: but again that was one hundred years ago.
- 55:54Speaker 1: I've been on the Wonder, the Magic and the Dream
- 55:56Speaker 1: and this one is like the Destiny. It's a new boat, fantastic.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Have to let me know.
- 56:01Speaker 1: And the kids are it's just me and the kids,
- 56:03Speaker 1: and we have a group of friends and all of
- 56:04Speaker 1: our adult kids are going. This is the first time
- 56:06Speaker 1: we're going where the kids are adults and can drink
- 56:10Speaker 1: you know, nice legally, and so you know, our favorite
- 56:13Speaker 1: thing we love to go to bingo. We love we
- 56:15Speaker 1: love the good, clean fun.
- 56:16Speaker 2: And it was beautiful. Do they still have that restaurant
- 56:19Speaker 2: where like it changes colors or it becomes.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you do your animation at the table and then
- 56:27Speaker 1: you hand it to your waiter and then they run
- 56:28Speaker 1: it through a thing and then you get to see.
- 56:30Speaker 2: Oh that I didn't exist that. Oh that's way a
- 56:33Speaker 2: p I didn't have such.
- 56:35Speaker 1: Your your thing that you do at your table. You animates,
- 56:40Speaker 1: you draw something, and then they take them up. And
- 56:42Speaker 1: then at the end when they do their little show
- 56:44Speaker 1: on the animator stuff on the walls, everybody your own
- 56:47Speaker 1: stuff is there and I love that. And then the
- 56:50Speaker 1: characters come out of the wall and like talk to you,
- 56:52Speaker 1: like the it's wild. It's really cool.
- 56:55Speaker 2: I remember we had we had the same waiter though
- 56:58Speaker 2: every night, so we would go to a different restaurant,
- 57:00Speaker 2: but we would have our same waiter. Felt that like
- 57:03Speaker 2: they had to put on like an equally ridiculous costume
- 57:07Speaker 2: from the one that they had to wear last night.
- 57:09Speaker 2: Like yes, it's just we felt so bad for our guy.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Yeah, the white staff follows you and that's really good.
- 57:14Speaker 1: And then they do have now on several of the boats.
- 57:17Speaker 1: They you could look this up because you're a foodie.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Remy and then they have another one on this new boat.
- 57:22Speaker 1: I can't think of the name of it, but Remy
- 57:24Speaker 1: is obviously a French restaurant. And when I tell you
- 57:27Speaker 1: we have two times, I've been the most incredible, Like
- 57:32Speaker 1: they have just like the little menus and this is
- 57:34Speaker 1: what you're getting. Yeah, a lot of choices. It's very
- 57:37Speaker 1: shashy yeh, fixed menu, fancy with the wine pairings or
- 57:41Speaker 1: not or whatever. And I would tell you it's like
- 57:42Speaker 1: one of the best meals you'll ever have in your life.
- 57:44Speaker 1: And they tell you that the chef chfon of the
- 57:48Speaker 1: in France created the menu, and you're like, okay, so
- 57:52Speaker 1: you know you do that again? No kids, so yes,
- 57:55Speaker 1: we just listen. I haven't been on anything but a
- 57:59Speaker 1: Disney cruise the years, and then I just with their friends.
- 58:03Speaker 2: I've been on two cruises. One was the Disney cruise
- 58:05Speaker 2: and one was the Viking Cruise. With my friend Brian,
- 58:07Speaker 2: I went to cruise a river cruise.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Did you like Paris and Normandy?
- 58:12Speaker 2: No, We went from Baslu up to Amsterdam. So we
- 58:16Speaker 2: went along the Rhine River through Germany and a little
- 58:20Speaker 2: bit of France, but mostly Germany, and I loved it
- 58:24Speaker 2: and I'm very afraid of the water. And what I
- 58:27Speaker 2: love about the River cruise is if you look to
- 58:29Speaker 2: your left, you see land, and if you look to
- 58:31Speaker 2: your right, you see land. Okay, and they do that
- 58:34Speaker 2: whole like muster station thing. The captain was like, so
- 58:37Speaker 2: if there's an emergency, you will swim there or you
- 58:42Speaker 2: will swim there, and that was basically and I was like, Okay,
- 58:46Speaker 2: I can handle I get it.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I get it. My husband only likes a cruise
- 58:50Speaker 1: ship if it has a casino.
- 58:52Speaker 2: And Disney does the Disney No, they do not, they don't.
- 58:56Speaker 2: Viking definitely does not either.
- 58:58Speaker 1: No, so he doesn't. He did a Disney Crust couple
- 59:00Speaker 1: of times and he's like, no, and he feels very
- 59:03Speaker 1: trapped on a boat.
- 59:05Speaker 2: I get it. I I totally can relate.
- 59:08Speaker 1: I can't. I can't. I love it. I love it.
- 59:10Speaker 1: I love it.
- 59:11Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad you're going.
- 59:12Speaker 1: I love to be trapped on a boat. Listen. We
- 59:15Speaker 1: are done, and again, as per huge, we talked about
- 59:17Speaker 1: a bunch of craft that you know what I want
- 59:19Speaker 1: to know about. But that's okay, Doug. That's the joy
- 59:22Speaker 1: of Doug Neton is that you are actually very, very
- 59:26Speaker 1: versed in almost every topic. You you're you great at
- 59:29Speaker 1: a dinner party or a cocktail party.
- 59:31Speaker 2: I bet Okay, now feel bad? No, of course, I love.
- 59:36Speaker 2: I love. I love to talk about all different kinds
- 59:39Speaker 2: of things. I mean, now, now I'm like, oh God,
- 59:42Speaker 2: I have to google if it's key. Okay, but I'm
- 59:43Speaker 2: sure it's key. You know, I think you know. What
- 59:46Speaker 2: I was thinking is of gentle breeze from Hashabai mountains
- 59:51Speaker 2: softly blows or lalla by bay. It's bo waiting wa
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: now and your boat waits down by the key. And
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: it's key because it brings your troubles to C. Key
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: rhymes with c.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: It's key, but it's spelled K.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's spelled k h a y.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: It's key, but castaway K is c a y.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Oh, but it's still key. It's what is K C
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: A y?
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: I think it's spelled it's castaway K. It's like it spelled,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: but it's pronounced key. I believe he's gonna look it up.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Guys.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Let's let's get let's confirm.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Let's cast away okay, Uh pronounce.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: How is k pronounced okay?
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Castaway c A y is pronounced castaway key rhyming with
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: B castaway K. Yes, it's held c a y. The
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: word comes from the Spanish term meaning small island. It
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: follows traditional Caribbean or Caribbean nautical pronunciation of key correct sound,
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: key incorrect sound. K, thank you it's key.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Let me tell you one more, one more fun fact. Yeah,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: it's for you to use at your next cocktail party.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Where we have our beach house is bald Head Island,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: North Carolina. So it's it's off the coast of like Wilmington,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: and it's an island and you go there on the ferry.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: When you get there, it's golf carts and bikes, no cars,
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: and we love it and it's my happy place. But
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: there's there's streets there and they're all named after various
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: pirates and things that happen on the island are the
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: way they have no like steed bonnet this or you know,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: the names of these pirates and things that came to that.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: And the street that we're on and the streets that
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: run around the island in the circle are spelled w
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: y and d wind but they're pronounced wind wind, So
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: lots of people with their house names are timed to
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: unwind unwinding right, because it looks like unwinding, but it's
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: w y and d So when I say to somebody
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: on the phone, like if I have you the address,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: I'll say blank blank blank west bald head wind and
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: they'll go can you spell that? Not go oh, I
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: just should just say wind. Yes, it's too hard. But
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: that's a fun fact. And I had to look it
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: up at one point as well, because I was like,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: some people say wind, but most people say whine wind. Yeah,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: the fact for you, Doug.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Last last one for me. What since we're talking about islands,
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: what animal are the Canary Islands named for?
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: Well, one would assume it would be birds, but that's
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: not the answer. Okay, I'm gonna say turtles.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Nope, what is it? Well if you think Latin? Okay,
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: because of course we're going to go back to Latin.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: So canare we get from? Can canus K nine k
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: c a N Canary Islands are named for dogs? Wow?
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Now I'm going to just add no joke. I learned
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: that as a child from these little Dixie cups that
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: my mom purchased that had little trivia and I know
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: that that's what it said. I boy do I hope
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: it's true, because it's been you know, fifty four years
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: of me. Canary Islands name for dogs, but I remember
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: it and then my mom teaches me, Yeah, the Canary
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: Islands get their name from dogs, Canaria meaning island of dogs.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: They found large fear. Dogs are the Latin root. It
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: comes from the Latin canis which is the Latin word
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: for dog.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: This is fun facts with Doug and Mary payin.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: We which is called Facts at the Beach.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: We the four of the kids and everybody when we
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: go every year, we always played trivial pursuit and this
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: year we had green Eyes versus Blue Eyes, which is
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: my husband and my daughter versus myself and my son.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: You and I could be in a team together.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: We could be in a team and guess what, my
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: son and I lost twice. But at the last, very
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: last question. But I was holding that team on my back.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: I mean everyone does. John's like, Mom, you're so smart.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: I was like, you are here for the sports questions.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: You are not helping. You are not helping.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's I would fail if it was
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: sports or pop current music or whatever.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: But well you get lucky because it's sports and leisure
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: and sometimes you get a leisure question.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that the sports ones would always.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: I'm always like Babe Ruth Lebron James, I don't.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: The other Wen and down. I remember it was like
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: went in dout just say King one Callers of Spain,
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Like somebody worked out that King one Callers of Spain
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: was an answer more than anything else in that original
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: trivial pursuit. And so your odds if you have to guess,
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: you just guess King One Callers of Spain.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: That's hilarious. Okay, I'm going to remember that helpful hint. Doug,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: tell everybody where they can find you on the social
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: media and about your fun cooking show and all the things.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Well, I am on Instagram at Doug Buden d Oug
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: b U d I N and you can join me
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: most Thursdays on Instagram Live at five pm Pacific, eight
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: eastern seventh Central, where I cook and kibbits where I
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: just go on Instagram Live and I usually have friends
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: with me in the kitchen and we cook and we
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: hang out and talk to each other and talk to
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: people who are watching.
