- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with our radio. It is an episode Almost Famous podcast.
- 0:07Speaker 1: We were breaking down the most recent episode of the
- 0:10Speaker 1: Bachelor with a guest host because my lovely co host
- 0:16Speaker 1: just had a baby. Ashley and Jeared are now parents
- 0:20Speaker 1: and we have uh the Top Tier Mom and Batchel
- 0:24Speaker 1: Nation as our guest host today, Trista Sutter, Welcome to
- 0:28Speaker 1: the Almost Famous Podcast. Thanks thanks for having me. I'm
- 0:32Speaker 1: so excited for them than how it is to be
- 0:36Speaker 1: a fun now that you have a puppy. So yeah,
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'm wondering. I'm gonna ask Ashley in a few months,
- 0:43Speaker 1: like what was harder a puppy or a baby? Because
- 0:46Speaker 1: the puppy is really difficult. Yeah, they are really Actually,
- 0:50Speaker 1: when you when you have a puppy after you have
- 0:52Speaker 1: a baby, you compare it to having a new one.
- 0:55Speaker 1: So if it is really hard, it's good training. Now.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I him actually triested in the Paul Springs airport. Right now,
- 1:03Speaker 1: I'm getting ready to fly to um Carmel by the
- 1:07Speaker 1: Sea for an I Heeart Live podcast series. So you're
- 1:10Speaker 1: gonna hear some background noise because I'm sitting in the
- 1:12Speaker 1: airport doing this. Um right now, and here's my point
- 1:17Speaker 1: to that. So I came up. I left Jessica at
- 1:19Speaker 1: home after two days of getting a puppy. With the
- 1:22Speaker 1: puppy for eight days, I'm gonna be gone, Um, traveling
- 1:25Speaker 1: for work and uh, we're gonna still be married. But
- 1:29Speaker 1: it's not. We're gonna still be married. But I've gotten
- 1:33Speaker 1: now to face times at night being like this is amazing,
- 1:37Speaker 1: and then at the same time, within seconds it turns
- 1:39Speaker 1: to being a nightmare. Um, he's he's a little he's
- 1:43Speaker 1: a little little goofball. Is he, Craig Jeney, he is he? Uh,
- 1:50Speaker 1: he's doing great. He was crying most nights, but now
- 1:53Speaker 1: he's not. But now he's developed. Because it's cold. You know,
- 1:57Speaker 1: obviously we live in Colorado. It's cold in Colorado right now.
- 2:00Speaker 1: And as a puppy, he's refusing to go outside to
- 2:02Speaker 1: go to the bathroom because it's too cold. Yeah, and
- 2:06Speaker 1: he's he's pretty potty trained. I think he's just being
- 2:09Speaker 1: very high maintenance and so instead you would rather wait
- 2:12Speaker 1: and find a warm place in the house. It's awesome
- 2:15Speaker 1: for me. I get to see it through pictures and
- 2:17Speaker 1: phone calls. I'm not there for right now. I'm the
- 2:20Speaker 1: worst husband in the world this week, but you don't know,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I don't think the husband in the world. But you
- 2:27Speaker 1: might have to bring home some Brownie points or brownie
- 2:31Speaker 1: whatever she likes. Yeah, I think I think we're going
- 2:34Speaker 1: on a date night. Um, yeah, good idea, trist Tristy,
- 2:38Speaker 1: you're here to celebrate obviously Ashley's baby show that we
- 2:41Speaker 1: just had. We did not expect the baby to come
- 2:43Speaker 1: as soon as it did, so now you're back co
- 2:46Speaker 1: hosting this episode with me. Um, thank you for doing it.
- 2:50Speaker 1: This is a big deal. We have some great guests today.
- 2:52Speaker 1: We have Restless Road, who performed on last night's episode
- 2:55Speaker 1: on the podcast. We're also going to break down the
- 2:57Speaker 1: most recent episode of the Batch Learned. Also to go
- 3:00Speaker 1: through bachelor headlines or hot topics. H Trista usually Actuley's
- 3:05Speaker 1: the expert at those. Uh do you feel really todate
- 3:08Speaker 1: on everything going on at vaccination? I do now. Um, yeah,
- 3:13Speaker 1: I got kind of a little rundown, but I do
- 3:15Speaker 1: know one of the things because it's happening in my home. Um.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Ryan just went back to work. He had to surgeries
- 3:24Speaker 1: this summer. He had a totally replacement and ankle surgery
- 3:27Speaker 1: after he was injured at work. And it's really big
- 3:32Speaker 1: news in our house. I guess it's news elsewhere. I
- 3:35Speaker 1: don't know why, but it is something that is happening
- 3:39Speaker 1: in our world. And I'm just really proud of them. Um.
- 3:44Speaker 1: He I don't know, I feel like you might follow
- 3:46Speaker 1: each other. But he did a post when he went back,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and the day he went back, he had quite the
- 3:54Speaker 1: a juxtaposition of UM people that they came in contact to.
- 4:00Speaker 1: One of them spit on the fire truck, spit on
- 4:04Speaker 1: the fire truck, Like what how? How do people think
- 4:08Speaker 1: that that's okay? Um? And then of course he had
- 4:11Speaker 1: you know, other support, like he felt really supported. But
- 4:15Speaker 1: it's it's a really it's really big news in our house.
- 4:17Speaker 1: What's what's happening in him going back to work? UM?
- 4:20Speaker 1: And I am. I'm really proud of them, especially dealing
- 4:25Speaker 1: with things like that. You know, how's he feeling. I
- 4:28Speaker 1: know last time we we well come months ago, we
- 4:31Speaker 1: had you on. You know, he was feeling pretty ill.
- 4:34Speaker 1: He you know, I think he was diagnosedant planing to eat.
- 4:36Speaker 1: How's that going? It's okay. He's actually been feeling pretty
- 4:41Speaker 1: good lately. Uh, he's been going through this protocol with
- 4:44Speaker 1: the company called the Heel Hive and working with his
- 4:48Speaker 1: doctor and Boulder, and you know it's not he feels great,
- 4:53Speaker 1: but um, he's feeling pretty good lately. Thanks for asking. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:58Speaker 1: Well there's a lot going on your house. You guys
- 5:01Speaker 1: have had a very eventful uh twelve months. But hopefully
- 5:06Speaker 1: now we can get back into the rhythm in the
- 5:08Speaker 1: Center house and that would be that feels like it
- 5:11Speaker 1: would be nice. Definitely, rhythm is good. I feel like
- 5:15Speaker 1: we are a family that that really does great with routine,
- 5:19Speaker 1: and so to get back into the routine is is
- 5:21Speaker 1: a good thing. It would be great. Well, uh, really
- 5:25Speaker 1: thankful for you to be here today. Again. Uh, let's
- 5:27Speaker 1: take a break. When we come back, we're going to
- 5:29Speaker 1: break down this week's episode of The Bachelor again. I'm sorry.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I'm at an airport because I gotta get to Karma
- 5:35Speaker 1: by the Sea for this podcast so we can do
- 5:38Speaker 1: a live episodes all week. So I'm sitting in Palm
- 5:40Speaker 1: Springs airport watching people walk by with palms, turns on
- 5:43Speaker 1: their shirt and uh sunburns. Hey, we'll be back with
- 5:46Speaker 1: almost new his podcast. This week's episode of the Bachelor
- 5:59Speaker 1: starts out, so with the cocktail party, we pick it
- 6:02Speaker 1: back up again. More drama, more injurgued What are you
- 6:07Speaker 1: thinking at this point, Trista, as somebody's been on the show,
- 6:10Speaker 1: a fan of the show, What what's going on in
- 6:12Speaker 1: your gut as you watch this? Thank God I didn't
- 6:16Speaker 1: have this kind of drama to deal with, that is
- 6:18Speaker 1: what I'm thinking. I mean, are my season obviously was
- 6:22Speaker 1: the first one. None of us had any idea coming
- 6:25Speaker 1: into it what was going to be happening. And then
- 6:27Speaker 1: on my season the Bachelorette, the guys got along so well,
- 6:31Speaker 1: there was no drama, and god, this is the point
- 6:37Speaker 1: when Clayton is like face to face with these girls
- 6:41Speaker 1: and talking about the drama, and I don't I just
- 6:44Speaker 1: feel so bad for him, Like why do the girls
- 6:48Speaker 1: think that it's okay too to be dramatic like this.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I don't understand it, Ben, Like why, why, why? Why?
- 6:58Speaker 1: It's like they've never watched the show before, because it
- 7:00Speaker 1: never ends well for the people involved in the drama ever,
- 7:03Speaker 1: Like you know, no matter what your intentions are, maybe
- 7:07Speaker 1: you come on this show to find it's not gonna
- 7:09Speaker 1: end well for you. To get involved in the drama.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Maybe you go on this show to get super famous
- 7:14Speaker 1: and make money on social media. You're still the drunk
- 7:17Speaker 1: workout well for you, Like I don't that, Like path
- 7:20Speaker 1: has never made sense to me from any point of
- 7:23Speaker 1: intentions going on the show, and it seems like like
- 7:27Speaker 1: she wants to cause drama. You know, this year, the
- 7:31Speaker 1: previews for the rest of the season we're different than
- 7:35Speaker 1: anything we've seen before, because it really did make it
- 7:37Speaker 1: seem like there were spoilers within the previews. People were
- 7:40Speaker 1: freaking out, like you just told a sud the final
- 7:42Speaker 1: three are there's no way the show would do like
- 7:44Speaker 1: the way too smart, way too savvy. Yeah, there's no
- 7:48Speaker 1: way that's the final three. They made it look like it,
- 7:50Speaker 1: and I think they did that intentionally. Uh so they
- 7:53Speaker 1: could have that good preview, But you're probably right. I
- 7:56Speaker 1: bet this like little two on one ROAs ceremony is
- 7:59Speaker 1: not leaving some on the island like I did. It's
- 8:02Speaker 1: like an actual like roast ceremony where like they dressed
- 8:04Speaker 1: up and they stand in front of him. He's like,
- 8:05Speaker 1: you know, I'll pick one of you, Tristan. I have
- 8:09Speaker 1: an interesting question for you. What I think it's interesting
- 8:12Speaker 1: Maybe nobody else does. How much of the drama can
- 8:17Speaker 1: we blame on the lead? You said, Hey, the drama
- 8:20Speaker 1: wasn't bat on my season. The guys got along right,
- 8:22Speaker 1: some of the best UM seasons that we've seen. I mean,
- 8:26Speaker 1: I would even say, for the most part, like a
- 8:27Speaker 1: Caitlin Bristow season, which is the iconic season you know
- 8:31Speaker 1: I live. This is only one I know by living
- 8:33Speaker 1: in the house with the most of the guys got along.
- 8:35Speaker 1: There was a little bit of weirdness, but nothing major
- 8:38Speaker 1: when it came to the guys. How much of that
- 8:41Speaker 1: is on the lead or how much of that is
- 8:43Speaker 1: just on the cast? It is there? Actually, don't think
- 8:47Speaker 1: it has anything to do with the lead. I I think,
- 8:51Speaker 1: you know, Cassidy and Say were kind of like buddy
- 8:55Speaker 1: buddies and teamed up, and Cassidy seemed to be like coaching,
- 8:59Speaker 1: like you knew to do this, you need to like
- 9:01Speaker 1: go for it and go hard and do not take
- 9:04Speaker 1: any prisoners kind of thing. Um And so had she
- 9:07Speaker 1: not been there, maybe Sena would have acted differently. We
- 9:10Speaker 1: all know that Cassy went home, and uh, you know,
- 9:14Speaker 1: I think that it's really hard if there had been
- 9:17Speaker 1: drama on my season, it would have been a very
- 9:20Speaker 1: very hard line to get to the bottom of what's happening,
- 9:25Speaker 1: but also just continue to focus on the the people
- 9:29Speaker 1: that I was really interested in, because when there's drama,
- 9:33Speaker 1: you can't focus on it. So it sucks because you know,
- 9:37Speaker 1: all of these girls are complaining about how they don't
- 9:40Speaker 1: have they're not getting time with Clayton because of the drama.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Like he canceled the Rose ceremony um and then he
- 9:48Speaker 1: pulled you know, Elizabeth and Senai to talk to them,
- 9:51Speaker 1: say is showing up on the group date like it's
- 9:55Speaker 1: it's not It's not anything that he is having to
- 9:58Speaker 1: deal with. Although I will say and because I think
- 10:01Speaker 1: it is an interesting question. When Shane came to the
- 10:03Speaker 1: group date, he gave her time, and I think that
- 10:08Speaker 1: he could have for sure said listen, Shane, I'm really sorry,
- 10:13Speaker 1: but I these girls one time with me, and so
- 10:18Speaker 1: I'm going to give them my time. That is one
- 10:21Speaker 1: way that I feel like the lead does have control
- 10:23Speaker 1: of any kind of drama, especially when the person causing
- 10:28Speaker 1: or involved in a lot of the drama is the
- 10:30Speaker 1: person interrupting the group date that she wasn't invited on.
- 10:34Speaker 1: You know, I completely agree with you. I don't want
- 10:39Speaker 1: to blame us all on Clayton, but I do think
- 10:41Speaker 1: he has a role in it because there is zero
- 10:44Speaker 1: chance he hasn't has he not picked up on some
- 10:49Speaker 1: of the signs, like some of the like things that
- 10:52Speaker 1: you're like, Hey, this doesn't seem like how everybody else
- 10:55Speaker 1: is acting. This doesn't feel like it's helpful. There's arguments
- 10:58Speaker 1: going on. But I'm going to give her time anyways,
- 10:59Speaker 1: I'm going to continue to facilitate that she can continue
- 11:03Speaker 1: to step on other people's toes um So you know,
- 11:07Speaker 1: it definitely is a personality thing. Definitely is going to
- 11:10Speaker 1: handle this situation that's on her. Clane has them to
- 11:13Speaker 1: do that. But how much of it are you going
- 11:14Speaker 1: to allow? People ask me all the time, Tris. It's
- 11:19Speaker 1: the most common question I got get asked, how much
- 11:22Speaker 1: did they forced you to keep people around? And I said, well,
- 11:24Speaker 1: they they never forced me to keep somebody around. However,
- 11:28Speaker 1: they would definitely like push for me to keep somebody around.
- 11:31Speaker 1: They would say, he would be really great if you
- 11:33Speaker 1: would keep the sees of the world around for another week,
- 11:35Speaker 1: you can get rid of somebody else in the process.
- 11:38Speaker 1: And if I wanted to, I always had the ability
- 11:40Speaker 1: to say, no, it's not gonna happen. I'm not keeping
- 11:43Speaker 1: them around. I could have said, okay, whatever, I'll just
- 11:46Speaker 1: do what you want me to do, even though I
- 11:48Speaker 1: know this is gonna be bad for the house. I
- 11:50Speaker 1: never was like, you know, hand to the fire, come on,
- 11:53Speaker 1: you got to keep them around. I never felt like that,
- 11:55Speaker 1: but but there was definitely like the it would be
- 11:58Speaker 1: awesome if you kept around. I kind of think so
- 12:00Speaker 1: Clayton could have stopped this where it was at, way
- 12:02Speaker 1: before it got to this point. Um. That's why I
- 12:05Speaker 1: just I think, Hey, some of this has to do
- 12:06Speaker 1: with him. A little bit of it. Um, how sick
- 12:10Speaker 1: are you or how ridiculous? You know? Do you feel
- 12:14Speaker 1: that this like a lot of this is around shrimp. Now,
- 12:16Speaker 1: obviously she said some really neat things about Elizabeth's mental health,
- 12:20Speaker 1: which is not okay. We talked about the last episode.
- 12:22Speaker 1: That's that's like hurt full and far beyond. That's the
- 12:25Speaker 1: thing that really set set it off the edge. But
- 12:27Speaker 1: a lot of this conversation is around shrimp. Like you're adults,
- 12:32Speaker 1: You're arguing over a plate of shrimp, and it's like
- 12:35Speaker 1: it drives me up the wall. Yeah, oh, I totally agree.
- 12:38Speaker 1: All I wanted to say. I wanted to reach in
- 12:40Speaker 1: the screen grab Clayton, shake him and say, do you
- 12:44Speaker 1: understand that this is not a mature conversation. There is
- 12:49Speaker 1: no maturity here. If she's worried about shrimp, and you know,
- 12:53Speaker 1: this could have been editing, but he was listening in
- 12:56Speaker 1: on the conversation that um, you know they were having
- 12:59Speaker 1: at the Rose there on mony last week's the end
- 13:01Speaker 1: of last week's week's episode, and so I don't know
- 13:05Speaker 1: for sure if it's editing and he was really truly
- 13:07Speaker 1: listening in or he wasn't. But if he was listening
- 13:10Speaker 1: in and the edit was like correct and true, then
- 13:14Speaker 1: he heard Genevieves saying, what the hell, why are you
- 13:19Speaker 1: talking about shrimp? Like come on? So, yeah, I don't
- 13:24Speaker 1: understand why there is this issue with shrimp. They were
- 13:27Speaker 1: in a hot tup. Maybe they didn't hear her say it,
- 13:30Speaker 1: maybe the levels were like too loud. I don't know,
- 13:33Speaker 1: but it really does seem like a super immature conversation
- 13:38Speaker 1: and a red flag because if she's more worried about
- 13:41Speaker 1: the fact that she offered people shrimp and they didn't
- 13:43Speaker 1: take it, there's there's a problem there. Yeah, I don't
- 13:49Speaker 1: even know how to talk about this because it feels
- 13:54Speaker 1: so ridiculous, Like it feels if you know, in my mind,
- 14:00Speaker 1: I'm taking the stance right now like a producer. Right,
- 14:05Speaker 1: you're a producer, and you're like, we're filming this show.
- 14:07Speaker 1: We're gonna see how this plays out, right, So this
- 14:09Speaker 1: shrimp shrimp gate goes down, like this is gonna be
- 14:11Speaker 1: a great, like kind of funny, little like dramatic moment
- 14:15Speaker 1: where like we she walks rocks around the play of shrimp.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Some people take it, some people don't, some people are
- 14:19Speaker 1: finn not and then everybody moves on. It's like not
- 14:21Speaker 1: a storyline The Bachelor. This season, Tristan I Bet has
- 14:26Speaker 1: gotten thirty minutes of content over shrimp. Wait. It is
- 14:32Speaker 1: carried like the last third or fourth of the last episode,
- 14:37Speaker 1: and that first fourth of this episode. Shrimp has made
- 14:41Speaker 1: not only a cocktail party get canceled, but it has
- 14:43Speaker 1: also been the underlying conversation. Now again, there is a
- 14:48Speaker 1: history here where was really need to Elizabeth about a
- 14:52Speaker 1: d h D. It really put up Elizabeth up against
- 14:56Speaker 1: all said some hertful things, but those things aren't even
- 15:00Speaker 1: really being discussed. I know we discussed more than everything else,
- 15:04Speaker 1: and that's confusing to me. Totally agree. Like I I
- 15:08Speaker 1: loved Elizabeth. She's also a Colorado girl, so I was
- 15:11Speaker 1: rooting for UM. But I and I thought she handled
- 15:15Speaker 1: it so classy. I know we're backing up episodes, but
- 15:17Speaker 1: I really do think that if she had brought up
- 15:20Speaker 1: to Clayton, because I think she wanted to stay so
- 15:22Speaker 1: far out of the drama it was, or at least
- 15:24Speaker 1: as much as possible, she didn't mention that, like Jane
- 15:29Speaker 1: told all of these people, it wasn't her right to
- 15:32Speaker 1: tell anyone about my mental health issues, Like I shared
- 15:37Speaker 1: that with her in giving her an olid branch to
- 15:39Speaker 1: try to, you know, let her know that. That's why
- 15:44Speaker 1: I wasn't able to UM respond to her in that moment,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and she totally abused that and then the hurtful things
- 15:52Speaker 1: that she I know the girls can't see that, and
- 15:54Speaker 1: I know Clayton can't see it, but in her I
- 15:56Speaker 1: t m s when she was like, oh, like she
- 15:59Speaker 1: was like rying and laughing about the fact that Elizabeth
- 16:02Speaker 1: has a d h D. I just I I always
- 16:05Speaker 1: think I wish, in some way, shape or form that
- 16:08Speaker 1: the leaves could get some kind of background or on
- 16:12Speaker 1: the I T M s or what's happening, and there
- 16:14Speaker 1: are interviews to understand what truly is going down in
- 16:18Speaker 1: the house, you know, and these people really are Yeah, definitely,
- 16:22Speaker 1: no that that would be. That would be fantastic, But
- 16:25Speaker 1: then you know, the show wouldn't be carried on drama
- 16:27Speaker 1: like we're gonna see you know, so the cocktail parties canceled.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Clayton cancels that just due to the like the confusion
- 16:33Speaker 1: and whatever is going going on in the world. The
- 16:35Speaker 1: women are obviously upset about that time was taken away
- 16:38Speaker 1: once again over shrimp Gate, and we've we reoved right
- 16:42Speaker 1: into the Rose ceremony, which you know is is shocking.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I think this will be Clayton's I think Clayton's gonna
- 16:49Speaker 1: have a hard week publicly because of this Rose cremon.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I don't think people are gonna be fans of his decision. Again,
- 16:56Speaker 1: it's important to note that he doesn't know all the
- 16:59Speaker 1: conversations going behind the scenes. He doesn't see what we see.
- 17:03Speaker 1: He doesn't know really how the women are interacting in
- 17:05Speaker 1: the house. He's trusting his gut a lot oftentimes. I
- 17:09Speaker 1: do think there's been enough signs for him, or he
- 17:12Speaker 1: could have probably said, hey, this doesn't feel healthy, but
- 17:14Speaker 1: he says Elizabeth Home keeps say so. Here's the ones
- 17:17Speaker 1: that received a rose, Marlin, Marlina Teddy, Rachel Mara, Sierra, Suzie, Jill, Serene,
- 17:23Speaker 1: Genevieve Hunter, Lindsay Nay and the ones to go home
- 17:26Speaker 1: where Elizabeth, Malin and Kira Um. That's it's gonna be
- 17:32Speaker 1: hard for Clayton this week. I think people are gonna
- 17:34Speaker 1: have a really strong reaction to this decision. And I
- 17:37Speaker 1: don't know if it's deservedly so, because again he doesn't
- 17:40Speaker 1: know everything. But I think this is a pretty bad
- 17:44Speaker 1: moment for Clayton miss season and probably his first major
- 17:48Speaker 1: mistake because keeps the drama and releases somebody like Elizabeth,
- 17:53Speaker 1: who really I felt like was trying her best to
- 17:55Speaker 1: like push aside this move on from it. She didn't
- 17:58Speaker 1: want to keep talking about it, and yet she just
- 18:00Speaker 1: keeps getting dragged back. I totally agree. I think I
- 18:04Speaker 1: think that is why he's going to have a hard week,
- 18:07Speaker 1: because I think Elizabeth was someone that people connected to
- 18:11Speaker 1: they thought that she handled at least for me. I
- 18:13Speaker 1: feel like I thought she handled it really really well,
- 18:16Speaker 1: and she was very classy and and you know how
- 18:20Speaker 1: she was treating the other girls too. And then I
- 18:23Speaker 1: think this was a note after he handed out the roses,
- 18:27Speaker 1: and of course it could be editing too, but she
- 18:29Speaker 1: is standing there by herself like that. To me, I
- 18:33Speaker 1: always thought, if if a guy can't get along with
- 18:37Speaker 1: the other guys, then that is a huge red flag.
- 18:40Speaker 1: To me, there's something going on that I don't know about.
- 18:43Speaker 1: And maybe it's something that is um like made up
- 18:47Speaker 1: or untrue or whatever, but there's something to it. So
- 18:51Speaker 1: if she is not able to forge any relationships with
- 18:55Speaker 1: any of the girls, that is a huge red flag
- 18:58Speaker 1: that I feel like he should have seen. I would
- 19:01Speaker 1: completely agree Tristan. So that is yeah, and I think
- 19:03Speaker 1: you maybe give me that advice before my season was like,
- 19:06Speaker 1: just see how the girls are acting with each other, like,
- 19:09Speaker 1: you know, just see if they get along and which
- 19:11Speaker 1: ones aren't getting along with other people. Now, it could
- 19:13Speaker 1: be that they're quieter and that's fine too, but also
- 19:16Speaker 1: could be that, like there's a reason for it, so
- 19:18Speaker 1: you gotta dig in. Well, um, obviously we're going to
- 19:23Speaker 1: fast forward a little bit. The girls are heading on
- 19:25Speaker 1: what Jesse Palmer calls an international journey. First off, the Houston, Texas. Uh,
- 19:30Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about Houston, Texas right after the break,
- 19:32Speaker 1: but let's take a break. We'll come back. We'll talk
- 19:34Speaker 1: about their international journey beginning in the great state of Texas. Well, Trista,
- 19:50Speaker 1: we have a obviously we just mentioned we're going to Houston.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Uh during this episode, and it starts out with the
- 19:57Speaker 1: one on one date. Let's bring on some ex words
- 20:00Speaker 1: for this one on one date. An incredible new band
- 20:03Speaker 1: not fully knew, but really coming to age right now
- 20:07Speaker 1: in front of our eyes. Restless Road came on this
- 20:10Speaker 1: episode and they're gonna come join us to talk about
- 20:13Speaker 1: this one on one day with Rachel and Clayton. Screamall, Hello,
- 20:18Speaker 1: we are here. What's up everybody? What's up? What's up? Guys?
- 20:24Speaker 1: Um it is Uh, it's a big deal that you're here.
- 20:26Speaker 1: It's also a big deal to premiere on ABC. To
- 20:29Speaker 1: get us started, can tell us how this happened, like
- 20:32Speaker 1: how the world View ended up performing on a date
- 20:35Speaker 1: on the ship. To be honest, Ben, we have no idea.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I think we got to give credit to our our
- 20:41Speaker 1: our publicist. She really shocked us. I'm not gonna lie.
- 20:44Speaker 1: We we you know, started working you know, uh with
- 20:48Speaker 1: our team the last few years, and we told them
- 20:50Speaker 1: day one, we said, hey, we have two huge goals
- 20:53Speaker 1: and uh, the first one is to play the Grand
- 20:55Speaker 1: Ole Opry. The second one is to play on the Bachelor.
- 20:59Speaker 1: And up we were. We were in the sprinter van
- 21:02Speaker 1: driving a vant the show earlier in the year and
- 21:05Speaker 1: our Paul was says, facetimed us and and and dropped
- 21:07Speaker 1: a bomb on us, and uh, let us know that
- 21:09Speaker 1: we were playing on the Bachelor, and we almost swerved
- 21:12Speaker 1: off the road, but we we kept it together. And yeah,
- 21:15Speaker 1: we were just so excited to be a part of it.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Have you watched the show before? Oh, we're super fans.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Were literally, oh yeah, we we watched every every night
- 21:25Speaker 1: when the Bachelor on Bachelor Beschlrett. We've we've watched it
- 21:27Speaker 1: for years now, and that was why it was such
- 21:29Speaker 1: a big deal to us, because we we've been watching
- 21:32Speaker 1: the show for I think Ben, your season was Garrett's
- 21:34Speaker 1: first introduction season for Garrett that that's when I jumped in.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Was was the Ben Higgins season. I remember watching back
- 21:40Speaker 1: when the Brad dude was there and Sean days, I've
- 21:47Speaker 1: been here, so you have no idea who I am. Yeah, no,
- 21:52Speaker 1: it's okay, probably not even born. We're here now, that's right,
- 21:58Speaker 1: that's what's important. The Uh, well, thank you through continuing
- 22:02Speaker 1: to watch even after my season. It does meet a lot.
- 22:07Speaker 1: It's very nice of you. But you know you came on,
- 22:10Speaker 1: you weren't joking, and you said it's a big deal.
- 22:12Speaker 1: It is a big deal, Like this is a great
- 22:14Speaker 1: moment for explos You're You're really a great band to
- 22:17Speaker 1: have on the date. Uh, I was. You know, Tristan
- 22:20Speaker 1: and I both have been leaves before, so we know
- 22:23Speaker 1: how how these kind of musical experiences feel on the show.
- 22:28Speaker 1: What was it like for you, Like behind the scenes.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I know during my season, Amos Lee came on and
- 22:33Speaker 1: I love Amos. He's a great dude. And he was
- 22:36Speaker 1: there for like three hours, played two songs and left.
- 22:38Speaker 1: He's like, I have no clue what I just did.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I've never seen this show, but I did it because
- 22:43Speaker 1: you were here. So tell us about like what it's
- 22:45Speaker 1: like to be the musical performer on the show. Well,
- 22:49Speaker 1: for us, I feel like it's probably a little bit different.
- 22:52Speaker 1: So we um, we were on tour at the time,
- 22:54Speaker 1: and we had just played in Denver, and so we
- 22:58Speaker 1: took a flight to Houston where the date was being filmed.
- 23:02Speaker 1: It was absolutely beautiful, this this barn in this on
- 23:06Speaker 1: this farm, and uh we heard they're having a barbecue date. Yeah,
- 23:10Speaker 1: and so we uh we kind of just we we
- 23:14Speaker 1: had to stay behind the scenes the entire time because, um,
- 23:17Speaker 1: because Rachel didn't know we were there, and so Clay
- 23:20Speaker 1: wanted to make sure that this was just a surprise.
- 23:22Speaker 1: So we kind of just were huddled in this uh
- 23:25Speaker 1: this house all night and then uh we performed. It's
- 23:29Speaker 1: a long day, as you guys know. Um, so we
- 23:32Speaker 1: we didn't perform until probably about one am. So um,
- 23:37Speaker 1: which may be that that that may be the latest
- 23:39Speaker 1: that any of us have ever had to to do
- 23:42Speaker 1: anything like that before. So but no, it was incredible though.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I mean the experience the producers, that's what that was
- 23:48Speaker 1: what was really interesting for us. I feel like because
- 23:52Speaker 1: being such big fans of The Bachelor's you always wonder
- 23:55Speaker 1: like what goes on behind the scenes and what is
- 23:58Speaker 1: running through the producer's mind. So we we probably picked
- 24:01Speaker 1: every producer's brain the entire time. We were trying to
- 24:03Speaker 1: come up with data ideas for him, flash cards, data ideas. Yeah,
- 24:09Speaker 1: we're trying to we're making a move right now. If
- 24:11Speaker 1: everything goes well tonight, we could really see a future
- 24:13Speaker 1: where we could host Bachelor in Paradise. Yeah, we want
- 24:16Speaker 1: to be there. Yeah, or be the house band. Why
- 24:20Speaker 1: not a house band? A bartender that why don't we
- 24:23Speaker 1: have a house band? Just sid right here? Have another job?
- 24:30Speaker 1: That's amazing, good idea we have. We know some people,
- 24:33Speaker 1: We're gonna make some calls. Let's do so. Uh. You know,
- 24:38Speaker 1: obviously you guys have had a ton of success as
- 24:41Speaker 1: a band. Uh. You uh premiered, Uh and you finished
- 24:46Speaker 1: fourth on the season finale of X Factor. Uh, you've
- 24:49Speaker 1: written a ton of song. Uh. You have a great
- 24:52Speaker 1: song out with the collaboration with Cam Brown. Uh. Now
- 24:55Speaker 1: you find yourself on The Bachelor. I think today kind
- 24:59Speaker 1: of kind of mid uh interview here. Um, you're gonna
- 25:03Speaker 1: play a little song for us. Uh, do you mind
- 25:06Speaker 1: giving us a little taste as we continue to talk
- 25:08Speaker 1: about your music, caper and the show, A little little
- 25:10Speaker 1: taste over your song. Why don't we do it? Yes? Please?
- 25:15Speaker 1: So when we performed to this for Clayton and his state, Rachel,
- 25:17Speaker 1: where are we were? Hearts were going a million miles
- 25:21Speaker 1: an hour all we were told. We were standing on
- 25:23Speaker 1: stage ready to go, and there was just this big
- 25:25Speaker 1: sliding door and they're like, hey, whenever that door opens,
- 25:28Speaker 1: y'all just start. So we were waiting there for probably
- 25:32Speaker 1: five minutes, but it felt like five hours, just waiting
- 25:34Speaker 1: at this door to slide open. And when it did, man,
- 25:37Speaker 1: they walked through and we started the song and it
- 25:40Speaker 1: goes a little something like this. It's called growing old
- 25:43Speaker 1: with you. What's you say? We put this stance roots,
- 25:48Speaker 1: find us some fun, travel around, put some pictures on ship,
- 25:57Speaker 1: hold you close and keep there's the kids with a
- 26:02Speaker 1: listening coming save a FeelA gintle. I just I'm like
- 26:17Speaker 1: about I am seriously. I love this song so much.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I don't want you to stop. Thank you just a
- 26:24Speaker 1: little pretty. It's absolutely incredible good. It's so good. I
- 26:31Speaker 1: it's a song that I want to now make um
- 26:34Speaker 1: my song with like I want to renew my vowels
- 26:36Speaker 1: with my husband just to play that song. There ain't
- 26:39Speaker 1: nothing wrong with that. We'll come, We'll come sing it
- 26:41Speaker 1: for you. We'll come sing at that at the renewed wedding.
- 26:46Speaker 1: I'm just in love with that song. So talented, you
- 26:48Speaker 1: three are going to be unstoppable. So congratulations, really appreciate it. Now.
- 26:55Speaker 1: We when we when we got this song, we knew
- 26:57Speaker 1: that this was like the perfect song to play a bachelor.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I mean, that's like what you go on. I feel
- 27:02Speaker 1: like what the song embodies is finding that person, that
- 27:06Speaker 1: person that you want to grow up with. And I
- 27:08Speaker 1: feel like this is hopefully And now I'm not saying
- 27:10Speaker 1: that that we're the reason, but you know, if they
- 27:14Speaker 1: happen to go on and get married, they might have
- 27:17Speaker 1: been because of this song. You never know that that
- 27:20Speaker 1: moment was created, So I don't know. I mean, the
- 27:23Speaker 1: perfect story planted the sea, That's all I'm saying. You're right.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I can't wait to the season finale when they do
- 27:30Speaker 1: a highlight reel of the season of their love story
- 27:33Speaker 1: and this is the song behind. I do think it's perfect,
- 27:35Speaker 1: and I really think this will be a good a
- 27:38Speaker 1: good thing for you all. I hope it is. I
- 27:39Speaker 1: hope it really uh launches this song into a whole
- 27:43Speaker 1: new sphere. That's why it's so excited. Have you on here,
- 27:45Speaker 1: But if you can take off your musician hats for
- 27:49Speaker 1: a second. Let's be Bachelor fans for just a few
- 27:52Speaker 1: moments here together. Um, you know, you you got to
- 27:56Speaker 1: meet Clayton, I'm assuming for a period of time. What's
- 28:00Speaker 1: your thoughts on Clayton? Uh? And you're probably short interaction,
- 28:04Speaker 1: but interaction with him, you know, Clayton was a really
- 28:08Speaker 1: really nice guy. You know, we didn't know what to
- 28:10Speaker 1: expect going into it, but he was super welcoming to us.
- 28:13Speaker 1: He was super thrilled to have us there, and we
- 28:16Speaker 1: found out that he was a brand new country fan.
- 28:19Speaker 1: He said he had been listening to country about eight months,
- 28:22Speaker 1: so he had discovered us and a few other artists
- 28:24Speaker 1: that we know. And um, he was just super cool,
- 28:27Speaker 1: asking us questions about how, you know, all the country
- 28:29Speaker 1: music stuff works and kind of what we do. So
- 28:32Speaker 1: it couldn't have been a better interaction. For real, he
- 28:34Speaker 1: made us look so small too. He's a very very
- 28:38Speaker 1: muscular guy. Realized how big he is until your standing
- 28:42Speaker 1: beside It never felt smaller in my life. What about Rachel,
- 28:46Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they were they were all over you know
- 28:48Speaker 1: that their their vibe off camera was definitely they were
- 28:52Speaker 1: drawn to each other. They were definitely like getting closer
- 28:55Speaker 1: and closer every as you know, as time went on,
- 28:57Speaker 1: and you could definitely tell there was a connection there.
- 29:00Speaker 1: And um, yeah, Clayton was just so down to earth
- 29:03Speaker 1: and and and genuine. So yeah, it really felt like
- 29:05Speaker 1: they were definitely very very into each other. Did you
- 29:09Speaker 1: get to talk to her? Yeah, we did. She was
- 29:13Speaker 1: they both were kind of standing there. We we we
- 29:15Speaker 1: took some pictures with both of them and got to
- 29:17Speaker 1: talk to her. She's bubbly, She's just her personality. She's
- 29:21Speaker 1: just very bubbly. And uh it honestly, like Zach said,
- 29:24Speaker 1: I feel like they just you could really tell. I mean,
- 29:27Speaker 1: it's one thing when you're own camera, but it's another
- 29:28Speaker 1: thing to see off camera. And their their connection was
- 29:32Speaker 1: definitely there was there was a lot there. So what Okay?
- 29:37Speaker 1: I kind of have to two questions back to back
- 29:40Speaker 1: for you. The first is when I've always wondered, is
- 29:43Speaker 1: it awkward or weird for you all to be singing
- 29:47Speaker 1: performing looking out at two people just necking right in
- 29:51Speaker 1: front of you. Sou well, yes, We've been trying to
- 29:56Speaker 1: tell everybody this. It was. It was so difficult. This
- 29:59Speaker 1: was the mos difficult part about for performing on the show.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Despite our nerves. Was just that they were they were
- 30:04Speaker 1: literally about five feet away from us, and uh and
- 30:07Speaker 1: you know we're this song is you know, pretty intimate,
- 30:10Speaker 1: romantic and serious and all that. So we're trying to
- 30:13Speaker 1: give this really honest, genuine performance. But it was super
- 30:16Speaker 1: difficult not to like, you know, laugh because of the
- 30:19Speaker 1: PA was so strong. It was so strong. I mean,
- 30:21Speaker 1: I don't know, they didn't come up for air. I'm
- 30:23Speaker 1: not gonna lie. Well, that was the connection. I mean,
- 30:25Speaker 1: that's what we were talking about. I mean even off camera.
- 30:28Speaker 1: I mean once the once the filming part was over,
- 30:30Speaker 1: I mean they were still kissing, still hugging, still talking.
- 30:33Speaker 1: So I mean it was it was really really interesting situation.
- 30:37Speaker 1: I don't think we've ever performed like that. See, we
- 30:39Speaker 1: were hoping we were going to get mean at some
- 30:42Speaker 1: point in time, because there's gotta be one of like
- 30:45Speaker 1: this really weird face. There's got oh that that I've
- 30:50Speaker 1: always wondered because, you know, being on those dates myself,
- 30:53Speaker 1: it was awkward for me, Like it's hard to be like,
- 30:56Speaker 1: all right, like three people are standing five feet from me,
- 31:00Speaker 1: singing to me, looking at me, and I'm supposed to
- 31:01Speaker 1: be like in the moment. The next question then, because
- 31:06Speaker 1: of the awkwardness, the cool part of it, the connection
- 31:10Speaker 1: that you've got to be around the production, the whole thing.
- 31:13Speaker 1: You were there in the moment. You're part of this show.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Are you gonna be bigger fans of the Bachelor Bachelor
- 31:19Speaker 1: or do you feel like now it's been ruined for
- 31:21Speaker 1: you because you've now seen it all? I've never felt
- 31:24Speaker 1: more all. Yeah, I mean so, I mean it's going
- 31:29Speaker 1: to be the most dramatic season in Bachelor history. I mean,
- 31:32Speaker 1: oh always. So. I mean I think it's just made us,
- 31:35Speaker 1: you know, love the show even more. I mean, we
- 31:37Speaker 1: we talked about it. I mean now we get we
- 31:39Speaker 1: kind of feel like we're a part of Bachelor history.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I mean it's one that, like you, we can go
- 31:45Speaker 1: back now and watch this season whenever we want, and
- 31:48Speaker 1: we're going we're going to be on there. So I mean,
- 31:51Speaker 1: I think it definitely made us bigger fans of the show.
- 31:53Speaker 1: You'll be on Wikipedia. You know how you can go
- 31:56Speaker 1: on Wikipedia. You put the Bachelor and Restless road and hey,
- 32:00Speaker 1: you're connected, and we can go back on Hulu and
- 32:03Speaker 1: watch it anytime we want. After we can we can
- 32:07Speaker 1: go back and live in the moment again. You know
- 32:10Speaker 1: what I want to know about your experience on X Factor?
- 32:13Speaker 1: How how was it working with Simon cow Well, you
- 32:17Speaker 1: know that was what eight eight or nine years ago now,
- 32:20Speaker 1: and uh, I just remember at that time, we were
- 32:23Speaker 1: just out of high school, so we were about eighteen
- 32:25Speaker 1: years old and coming from really small towns in West
- 32:28Speaker 1: Virginia and Iowa and stuff, and coming to l A
- 32:31Speaker 1: and kind of being thrown to the circus that was
- 32:33Speaker 1: you know, the X Factor, and it was so much fun.
- 32:35Speaker 1: We got to meet so many talented people and artists
- 32:38Speaker 1: and having Simon as our mentor you know, a lot
- 32:41Speaker 1: of people think Simon's a really tough guy and he
- 32:43Speaker 1: can be, but I really felt like having him on
- 32:46Speaker 1: our side was the best case scenario. Like he was
- 32:49Speaker 1: our I guess, our leader or are in our category
- 32:52Speaker 1: we were he was our Yoda basically. I mean, he's
- 32:57Speaker 1: one of those people that if he loves you, he'll
- 32:59Speaker 1: go to at I mean then he's he's roasting everybody
- 33:03Speaker 1: else in the room just to make you looking for that.
- 33:05Speaker 1: He's so funny, funny too. I felt like he was
- 33:07Speaker 1: just had a ton of personality and yeah, he was
- 33:10Speaker 1: He's someone I wish we could, Uh, we haven't really
- 33:13Speaker 1: seen him since the show. I would love to reconnect
- 33:15Speaker 1: with Simon and and uh, you know, show him this
- 33:18Speaker 1: Bachelor performance and say, hey, look how far we've come. Man.
- 33:20Speaker 1: It did it did kind of give me flashback like PTSD,
- 33:24Speaker 1: like when we were on the set of The Bachelor,
- 33:27Speaker 1: because so much is the same when you're on those
- 33:30Speaker 1: shows and and and the filming process, and I was like,
- 33:33Speaker 1: there's a lot of stuff that I loved about it,
- 33:36Speaker 1: like being on the show, and then there's a lot
- 33:37Speaker 1: of stuff that like the late nights, like the grueling
- 33:40Speaker 1: long hours of filming and doing the same things over
- 33:43Speaker 1: and over again. It's the hurry up and wait game,
- 33:45Speaker 1: I feel like, and so we that's what we were
- 33:48Speaker 1: talking about like that night. It's like, oh god, I
- 33:51Speaker 1: don't miss these late, long hours of filming. One of
- 33:55Speaker 1: our moments from The X Factor that felt the most similar,
- 33:58Speaker 1: like a parallel to The Bachelor, was we're like a
- 34:00Speaker 1: few episodes into The X Factor and like Demilovado and
- 34:04Speaker 1: the judges were like telling me, Zach, you're so you're
- 34:07Speaker 1: so stiff, you're so awkward on stage. You need to
- 34:09Speaker 1: like loosen you up. So the producers you know, that week,
- 34:12Speaker 1: you know, they filmed like a segment on every every
- 34:14Speaker 1: artist you know for the next episode. So they said, Zach,
- 34:18Speaker 1: we're gonna focus on you this episode, bring you out
- 34:20Speaker 1: of your show. And they dropped me in the middle
- 34:22Speaker 1: of somewhere in l A. I don't know, on a
- 34:25Speaker 1: street corner in l A and said, we're gonna have
- 34:27Speaker 1: you stand here and try to get girls phone numbers.
- 34:29Speaker 1: And it doesn't matter how even today that would would
- 34:35Speaker 1: be horrible, but especially back then when I was eighteen,
- 34:37Speaker 1: I was I really was shy, especially with girls and stuff.
- 34:40Speaker 1: And then to think, wow, they're gonna have all these
- 34:43Speaker 1: cameras in my face doing it, and uh, you know
- 34:46Speaker 1: I I got rejected many times in a row, and
- 34:50Speaker 1: until finally one girl I was able to get her
- 34:53Speaker 1: phone number. I gave her a compliment on her shirt
- 34:55Speaker 1: or something. I was like, could I have your number?
- 34:57Speaker 1: And she gave it to me, and I was so
- 34:59Speaker 1: nervous I couldn't even like, I couldn't even type it in.
- 35:01Speaker 1: But I was like, I think the camera guy got it,
- 35:03Speaker 1: so we're good. They didn't set you up for success, though,
- 35:05Speaker 1: I mean, they dropped you on a street corner, and
- 35:07Speaker 1: I've never felt more embarrassed or like or like just
- 35:12Speaker 1: put on the spot in my entire life. You said
- 35:15Speaker 1: they didn't set him up for success. They did because
- 35:17Speaker 1: he instantly became the fan favorite right after that. I
- 35:21Speaker 1: remember that because I was vulnerable. He was very vulnerable.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Have y'all have y'all figured out what the word is?
- 35:31Speaker 1: There actually a word that the Bachelor like picks every
- 35:35Speaker 1: year that they want to focus on, because this year
- 35:38Speaker 1: it's appreciative. Appreciative. That's that's the one that I've I've
- 35:41Speaker 1: seen them sneak into quite a bit. You're right, there
- 35:46Speaker 1: is always a keyword. Like Hannah Brown season it was bold.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Vulnerable is a big one. Michelle was like, I want
- 35:53Speaker 1: to be seen. See that's that's how That's how deep
- 36:00Speaker 1: we got. That's how deep we dive into the batchelor.
- 36:03Speaker 1: We notice the little things. Mine was unloved. Mine was unlovable,
- 36:08Speaker 1: and I just got um man, uh, well, hey, we're
- 36:15Speaker 1: gonna let you guys go here, but I do want
- 36:17Speaker 1: to end it. Thanks for sharing the stories, Thanks for
- 36:22Speaker 1: being a part of the show coming on. And um
- 36:24Speaker 1: it is a beautiful song, and and Tristan I and
- 36:27Speaker 1: this whole almost famous podcast really one s two, our
- 36:30Speaker 1: you three to be a huge success and we live
- 36:33Speaker 1: forward to watching that happen and hope it comes from
- 36:35Speaker 1: the show. But for you all, as we close out,
- 36:38Speaker 1: um this little segment with you, what where do you
- 36:41Speaker 1: hope your musical career goes? What are your guys goals?
- 36:43Speaker 1: What what would you like our listeners to know about
- 36:45Speaker 1: Restless Road now coming into a really bright future ahead?
- 36:50Speaker 1: Well man, we always say, you know, our our real
- 36:53Speaker 1: goal is just to be the biggest country music band
- 36:56Speaker 1: in the world. And uh that's a very broad statement,
- 36:59Speaker 1: I know, but U and that could really mean a
- 37:01Speaker 1: lot of things. But really where we're at today is,
- 37:03Speaker 1: you know, in the past couple of years, we've been
- 37:05Speaker 1: able to start going on tour, opening up for like
- 37:07Speaker 1: Kane Brown, got to put these songs out and uh,
- 37:10Speaker 1: really we've just seen the ball start to roll now
- 37:13Speaker 1: and we're about to go on our first headlining tour.
- 37:15Speaker 1: So our goal really is just to be able to
- 37:17Speaker 1: play and meet as many fans as possible and hopefully
- 37:20Speaker 1: get a song on the radio. Would be great. I
- 37:22Speaker 1: know that's a huge goal for us, and uh, I
- 37:24Speaker 1: think it's like really important for us as a as
- 37:26Speaker 1: a band, Like we tend to not set goals that
- 37:29Speaker 1: are like we we do have goals that are like
- 37:31Speaker 1: five ten years out and those kind of things, But
- 37:34Speaker 1: ultimately it's setting what do we want to accomplish this
- 37:37Speaker 1: year and um like that. That's what we did last
- 37:42Speaker 1: year and we knocked two of our biggest ones off
- 37:44Speaker 1: our bucket list, the Bachelor and the grand O Offering,
- 37:47Speaker 1: and both in the same year. So I think it's
- 37:48Speaker 1: just important to what figure out what these goals are
- 37:52Speaker 1: for this year. Like Zach said, we're we're going on
- 37:54Speaker 1: our headline tour. We hope to have a song at
- 37:56Speaker 1: radio this year. Who knows, uh A c M Awards,
- 38:00Speaker 1: c M as CMT Awards, those are all those are
- 38:03Speaker 1: all things, But ultimately, I think really just for us,
- 38:06Speaker 1: it's just kind of we've made a ton of new
- 38:08Speaker 1: fans this year, and I think more importantly, we just
- 38:10Speaker 1: want to get out and meet as many of those
- 38:12Speaker 1: people as possible. So well, it's awesome. Yeah, thanks for
- 38:18Speaker 1: joining us, Restless Road everybody, Thanks again for coming on
- 38:21Speaker 1: the show. Thank you for being a part of the podcast.
- 38:24Speaker 1: We will be watching and Trista, I know and myself
- 38:27Speaker 1: are huge fancy Also, thanks for coming on, Thanks for
- 38:31Speaker 1: appreciate it. Thanks guys, good luck Trisa. They're pretty fantastic,
- 38:36Speaker 1: aren't they. Like what a great band. I love that song.
- 38:39Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not lying. I love that song. It's
- 38:43Speaker 1: it's an incredible love song. It is, and it really
- 38:47Speaker 1: does make me want Rachel and Clayton to end up
- 38:51Speaker 1: together just so they have that song. I always think
- 38:53Speaker 1: about if it's not the person, like if he hands
- 38:57Speaker 1: was up with somebody else, and that song was so
- 39:01Speaker 1: iconic for the episode. I wish that whoever ends up
- 39:04Speaker 1: together has that song. I don't know, so I really
- 39:07Speaker 1: hope that it's Rachel. Now. Um yeah, I think they're amazing.
- 39:11Speaker 1: I really think they have a bright future ahead of them,
- 39:14Speaker 1: and I'm really honored that I got to meet him.
- 39:16Speaker 1: So thanks for having me to guest host, right, I mean,
- 39:19Speaker 1: and and like kind of really cool that they're huge
- 39:22Speaker 1: fans of the show. You can tell they're actually like
- 39:24Speaker 1: big fans of the show. And I thought they were
- 39:27Speaker 1: joking when they first said one of their goals was
- 39:29Speaker 1: the performing The Bachelor, But now that they did that
- 39:32Speaker 1: and their episode just aired, right. I mean that's a
- 39:35Speaker 1: huge milestone for them. Can you just imagine a bunch
- 39:39Speaker 1: of teenage kids being like, oh, I hope one day
- 39:41Speaker 1: to be performed a on The Bachelor. Now they get
- 39:43Speaker 1: to celebrate that success. That's a big deal. That is
- 39:46Speaker 1: really cool. I mean to be able to be on
- 39:50Speaker 1: ABC and with the audience that they have and millions
- 39:54Speaker 1: of people out there, and millions of people who will
- 39:57Speaker 1: probably you know, do instagrams, worries or snaps or you
- 40:02Speaker 1: know whatever TikTok's of their song. Like I am really
- 40:06Speaker 1: excited for them. Yeah, yeah, it's a big deal. Well, okay,
- 40:10Speaker 1: so we talked about the date with Rachel that they
- 40:12Speaker 1: have a connection. It's very obvious they have a good
- 40:15Speaker 1: thing going. She's definitely one of the fan favorite. She's
- 40:18Speaker 1: definitely a favorite here um this season. I mean, I
- 40:23Speaker 1: think we can close that date up there and just
- 40:24Speaker 1: say like this, there was a good date. There was
- 40:27Speaker 1: a lot to happen, and the connection was very obvious. Yeah.
- 40:30Speaker 1: I love her, I really do. Really, So now the
- 40:33Speaker 1: next day is a big group date. Sarah, Aliza Teddy, Marlena, Jill, Susie, Morrissy,
- 40:38Speaker 1: Era Hunter, Lindsay Genevieve, Gabby and here's the big one.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Girls aren't thrilled. Jenney joined the group date Um. At
- 40:48Speaker 1: this point, Elizabeth has gone, but the other women involved
- 40:53Speaker 1: are really starting to get frustrated. There's really starting to
- 40:56Speaker 1: speak up on this date Um that is not bringing
- 41:01Speaker 1: a positive vibe to the girls around them. And it's
- 41:04Speaker 1: very obvious after this day, very obvious. I mean, he
- 41:08Speaker 1: he notices that there's no football in involved in the
- 41:15Speaker 1: tackle situation that's happening. I think it was with Sia
- 41:18Speaker 1: and Say and I think he asked Sara about it,
- 41:21Speaker 1: you know, what was going on there, because clearly you
- 41:23Speaker 1: didn't have the ball, she didn't have the ball, so
- 41:26Speaker 1: what's happening? And she was just like, oh, well I
- 41:29Speaker 1: didn't know you couldn't tackle if they didn't have the ball. UM,
- 41:34Speaker 1: which is funny to me. Yeah, yeah, it's It is
- 41:38Speaker 1: funny because I think it's pretty obvious typically, like I mean,
- 41:41Speaker 1: I feel like most people sports fans are not I
- 41:45Speaker 1: know that just randomly hitting somebody with no clear intention
- 41:51Speaker 1: behind it is it's just probably not a good move
- 41:53Speaker 1: athletics or not. UM. But a lot of this group
- 41:57Speaker 1: date to me and tell me if you think I'm
- 41:58Speaker 1: wrong for staff if like, um, it's a good as
- 42:02Speaker 1: a fine group, big group days or what they are.
- 42:04Speaker 1: But a lot of it was kind of like hovering
- 42:06Speaker 1: around the idea of, Hey, we're going to talk to
- 42:08Speaker 1: Clayton about like the other girls are going to step
- 42:10Speaker 1: in and say something. It's kind of an underlying theme
- 42:14Speaker 1: of this whole day. They just don't exactly know when
- 42:17Speaker 1: to do it because they're all getting frustrated with the situation. Yeah,
- 42:24Speaker 1: I actually I like that they kind of came up
- 42:26Speaker 1: with a plan to say something so that it was
- 42:30Speaker 1: a it was a group effort, so it wouldn't waste
- 42:33Speaker 1: one person's time with him, you know, and so that
- 42:37Speaker 1: he knew that they were all serious because he's not
- 42:40Speaker 1: seeing what they are seeing of of her and shrimp
- 42:44Speaker 1: gate and and and her behavior. I just I think
- 42:49Speaker 1: it's great that they came together as a group. I
- 42:51Speaker 1: really do. Um. I think it's unfortunate obviously that she
- 42:56Speaker 1: heard them talking and then decide it too. And who
- 43:01Speaker 1: knows if a producer told her that it was going
- 43:03Speaker 1: on and gave her the initiative or the idea to
- 43:08Speaker 1: go interrupt the group date. But I've never thought that
- 43:11Speaker 1: was cool, Like if you didn't get invited on a date,
- 43:14Speaker 1: then maybe don't show up. I don't know. I just
- 43:17Speaker 1: think it's disrespectful. Call me crazy. I'm traditional, even though
- 43:20Speaker 1: I was on a very untraditional dating show. You know.
- 43:25Speaker 1: I just I don't know. I I think there's something
- 43:28Speaker 1: negative about that, But clearly he didn't think so, because
- 43:33Speaker 1: he really liked his time with her, puts her up
- 43:35Speaker 1: on a bar, they make out, you know. Um, he
- 43:39Speaker 1: was having it. So I mean, it is his journey,
- 43:43Speaker 1: so I'll give him that. I just I wish he
- 43:47Speaker 1: would um tune in to the red flags. It is
- 43:52Speaker 1: his journey, and I have to remember that. I have
- 43:55Speaker 1: to because I watch it. I go, what is he doing?
- 43:57Speaker 1: This is inappropriate, This doesn't seem right, This is going
- 44:01Speaker 1: overre good. But it is his journey, and that's what
- 44:03Speaker 1: we tuned in for, right to watch Clayton operate this
- 44:06Speaker 1: thing and do this thing. Um and and it shows
- 44:10Speaker 1: me once again, Trista again, I don't know Clayton as
- 44:14Speaker 1: a dude at all. I cannot speak too is I
- 44:16Speaker 1: can't speak to what kind of guy is? I'm watching
- 44:19Speaker 1: him from a seat, you know, I'm the armchair expert
- 44:22Speaker 1: sitting here watching him be the bachelor. At some point,
- 44:28Speaker 1: at some point, he has to pick up on these signs.
- 44:30Speaker 1: At some point. It's very like there's enough now happening
- 44:33Speaker 1: in front of him, there's enough things being said to him,
- 44:36Speaker 1: there's enough drama being associated around her that at some
- 44:39Speaker 1: point he has to pick up the signs. And if
- 44:42Speaker 1: if at this point he hasn't, I do think that's
- 44:44Speaker 1: on him, Like I think he has to take credit
- 44:47Speaker 1: for that, because this is no longer he's naive for
- 44:49Speaker 1: the situation. But he's seen it, he's experienced it well.
- 44:54Speaker 1: And and I'm interested to know if he will find
- 44:57Speaker 1: out about the trophy, you know, about her, about her
- 45:00Speaker 1: behavior walking up to the girls, grabbing the trophy, throw
- 45:04Speaker 1: on it, in the bushes or wherever it went. Um,
- 45:07Speaker 1: I'm interested to know how he'll react to that, because
- 45:11Speaker 1: to me, that would be like, are you kidding me? Like,
- 45:14Speaker 1: what is she two years old? Yeah? Well, I mean
- 45:17Speaker 1: honestly though, just like what I was referencing too, is
- 45:21Speaker 1: if somebody were to crash a group during the time
- 45:25Speaker 1: that I was the bachelor, that would be a red flag,
- 45:28Speaker 1: right because you're the most supportive people there, which were
- 45:35Speaker 1: the ones I was most attracted to. We're also the
- 45:38Speaker 1: ones that understood the situation I was in, Like, Hey,
- 45:41Speaker 1: you're dating a lot of us. This probably isn't easy.
- 45:44Speaker 1: You're probably really really tired, Like you're probably exhausted at
- 45:48Speaker 1: this point. I'm going to give you the space you
- 45:50Speaker 1: need to be the best you can be um and
- 45:54Speaker 1: then when my time is there, I'm gonna meet the
- 45:55Speaker 1: most of it. I'm gonna be there beside you and
- 45:57Speaker 1: for you and for somebody. Just Randy show up and
- 46:00Speaker 1: take up the time of the women that deserve to
- 46:03Speaker 1: be there would have been a red flag. I think
- 46:05Speaker 1: at that point. That's what I'm saying, is like he
- 46:07Speaker 1: has to see it now. The one thing I want
- 46:09Speaker 1: to do is as we close out the breakdown of
- 46:11Speaker 1: this episode, I do want to mention one of the
- 46:14Speaker 1: fan favorites that we haven't seen a lot from. We've
- 46:17Speaker 1: been missing her. She jumped off the page at us
- 46:20Speaker 1: UH night one was a fan favorite. Everybody was talking
- 46:23Speaker 1: about her. Teddy finally kind of has her moment again.
- 46:26Speaker 1: It's not a big moment, a long moment, but it's
- 46:29Speaker 1: a moment with Clayton where they share a kiss, they
- 46:32Speaker 1: talk again, they flirt a little bit. It's good to
- 46:35Speaker 1: have her back on the screen. Yeah, I love seeing her.
- 46:39Speaker 1: I think their connection is magical. Um. I love that
- 46:43Speaker 1: she had a scar like what do you call it?
- 46:47Speaker 1: A raspberry on her knee from playing football. It's so
- 46:52Speaker 1: that she was going for it. And you know, they
- 46:55Speaker 1: always seem to come back together. So it'll be interesting
- 46:58Speaker 1: to see how far are in the journey she gets. Yeah. Well,
- 47:03Speaker 1: it was a dramatic episode. It was very focused on Nay.
- 47:08Speaker 1: I'm sure viewers out there, at least I don't want
- 47:10Speaker 1: to speak for them, I'm sure they're gonna have a
- 47:12Speaker 1: very similar opinion this. Can we just move on from
- 47:15Speaker 1: Jane usually happened them about this week though most seasons
- 47:17Speaker 1: where somebody's like, can we just move on to the
- 47:20Speaker 1: connections and to the other people because this is just
- 47:24Speaker 1: getting to be ridiculous, ridiculous. I think I think we
- 47:27Speaker 1: will next week. I do think it's the end of
- 47:29Speaker 1: the chapter. I just have that feeling that um Clayton
- 47:33Speaker 1: is gonna understand and realize what's happening now. Uh, but
- 47:39Speaker 1: we didn't get it this week. Uh. The episode ended
- 47:42Speaker 1: and there's a lot of confusions still the drama continues,
- 47:46Speaker 1: and it will continue next week on another episode of
- 47:48Speaker 1: the Bachelor. Let's take a break. When we come back,
- 47:51Speaker 1: We've got some Bachelor headlines to break down. It's gonna
- 47:53Speaker 1: be interesting to do it because as she's not here.
- 47:56Speaker 1: I believe we ky in Trista. I believe we can
- 47:59Speaker 1: in that. I believe in you. It's time for Bachelor headlines.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Our resident expert is now a mother again. Congratulations to
- 48:19Speaker 1: actually I committee. That is such a big deal. In
- 48:21Speaker 1: Jared and the whole family, They've got so much cool
- 48:23Speaker 1: stuff going on. Um, but we're gonna run through our
- 48:27Speaker 1: headlines this week. Uh, Trista, here's the headline. That's number one.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Jin Sabana, who was on the season of The Bachelor
- 48:36Speaker 1: with me. Um just a really fun person to be around.
- 48:40Speaker 1: I've gotten to see her outside of the show. She
- 48:43Speaker 1: announced that she's pregnant and she's the first expecting her
- 48:46Speaker 1: first baby with boyfriend. Her quote is, I can't wait
- 48:50Speaker 1: to meet you. This is a big deal, this is exciting,
- 48:53Speaker 1: this is a big deal. I don't know Jen either,
- 48:55Speaker 1: but I've always been a fan of hers when she
- 48:58Speaker 1: was she was on Bachelor and PARROTI one or two
- 49:00Speaker 1: times because she was on didn't she fall for it?
- 49:05Speaker 1: Didn't her and Nick have a have a relationship? They did.
- 49:09Speaker 1: That's a good memory. Yeah, I kind of forgot that
- 49:11Speaker 1: they did have a thing for a while, uh in
- 49:14Speaker 1: Bachelor of Paradise. But she's with her boyfriend now they're
- 49:18Speaker 1: expecting a baby. Obviously. Again, she was on season twenty
- 49:22Speaker 1: The Bachelor, which is the season with me. She was
- 49:24Speaker 1: always one of those supportive types, always very fair and
- 49:27Speaker 1: sweet to the girls around her. Um, this is an
- 49:31Speaker 1: awesome thing to celebrate. But we have more baby news.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation's j J. Lane. He reveals the sex of
- 49:37Speaker 1: his first baby with wife Kayla on a Hawaii trip. Trista,
- 49:42Speaker 1: They're having a baby girl. It's a girl girl. It
- 49:47Speaker 1: is a big deal. A girl dad Again, I love it.
- 49:52Speaker 1: I love jj um. Next headline is one that's not
- 49:56Speaker 1: about babies. But Rachel Lindsay came out with a new book,
- 50:00Speaker 1: Missed Me. But that the book does address some things
- 50:04Speaker 1: within vat Nation addresses Peter Raven Gates, who was her
- 50:08Speaker 1: best friend, who you know, you know for a period
- 50:12Speaker 1: of time, It doesn't sound like they're very friendly anymore.
- 50:14Speaker 1: And Chris Harrison, you know she was very much involved
- 50:18Speaker 1: in the Chris Harrison UM storyline. She was the host
- 50:22Speaker 1: of the interview that was done with him that led
- 50:24Speaker 1: to his departure. UM. It seems like this book is
- 50:28Speaker 1: full of some do see details, but it is out now.
- 50:33Speaker 1: So she did come out with their book, and we
- 50:34Speaker 1: got to congratulate Rachel for just coming out with the book.
- 50:36Speaker 1: That's a that's a huge accomplishment, miss me with that
- 50:39Speaker 1: is now out. UM, So if you want to hear
- 50:41Speaker 1: about that stuff, pick it up. If you don't, at
- 50:44Speaker 1: least celebrate the fact that she came out with a book.
- 50:46Speaker 1: That's that's something that's something special. UM. In The final
- 50:51Speaker 1: headline today is one that we talked about at the
- 50:54Speaker 1: beginning of this podcast. Again. Ryan Sutter returns to firefighting
- 50:59Speaker 1: after two major surgeries. Tristy, you talked about at the beginning. UM,
- 51:04Speaker 1: but it is tell me if I'm wrong, this is
- 51:07Speaker 1: an exciting time for your family, right it is. It's
- 51:10Speaker 1: a big time. It's UM, we're getting really back to routine.
- 51:14Speaker 1: It's it's been a year, well, I don't know how
- 51:18Speaker 1: long it's been. Let's see, probably six months since um
- 51:23Speaker 1: surgeries and those surgeries that he had are no joke.
- 51:27Speaker 1: You know, a total knee replacement is kind of a
- 51:29Speaker 1: big deal, and as was his ankle reconstruction. So the
- 51:33Speaker 1: fact that he gets to now go back to the
- 51:36Speaker 1: truck and actually do what he what his purposes, you know,
- 51:42Speaker 1: being a firefighter and getting out there on the streets
- 51:45Speaker 1: of Denver and and really helping people out. So I'm
- 51:49Speaker 1: excited for him. I think it's good for him to
- 51:53Speaker 1: have that um routine, being that he doesn't always feel
- 51:57Speaker 1: great UM and and I think it's good for the
- 52:01Speaker 1: kids to see him come back after you know, suffering
- 52:06Speaker 1: so long from line and then from the surgeries. So
- 52:10Speaker 1: I'm really proud of him. Yeah, we're proud of him
- 52:13Speaker 1: as well. Here and what a great week to have
- 52:16Speaker 1: you as a co host on the podcast because we
