- 0:01Speaker 1: Thanks Mike Lane. First game out of the break Krakenfall
- 0:03Speaker 1: last night in Dallas for one in a game and
- 0:06Speaker 1: which last night this morning, not too thrilled with the
- 0:09Speaker 1: effort to take us back through your thoughts and that performance.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought we started the game pretty good.
- 0:14Speaker 3: We had a couple of dollars plays right off the
- 0:15Speaker 3: pat which I think, you know, if we score on those,
- 0:18Speaker 3: obviously you know the game might be a little bit different.
- 0:22Speaker 2: We did not.
- 0:23Speaker 3: We gave up a goal at the end of the
- 0:25Speaker 3: first period, which you can't do. You know, we didn't
- 0:29Speaker 3: box out Japa, you know, and then by the time
- 0:33Speaker 3: nine minutes are gone in the second period, it's four nothing.
- 0:35Speaker 3: So there was a ten minute window where we, you know,
- 0:39Speaker 3: basically lost the game.
- 0:40Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, you.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Can't just look at that ten minutes. I just thought
- 0:43Speaker 3: we were out muscled, out battled. I thought we played
- 0:47Speaker 3: too slow. I thought our execution was really poor. Their
- 0:51Speaker 3: second goal was scored off of an icing by us
- 0:54Speaker 3: on a simple pass that we should make.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Just not even close to being good enough for me.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Early in the game, a couple of massive hits from
- 1:03Speaker 1: Lyndren Jamie Alexiak that physical tone set early another seven
- 1:07Speaker 1: hit game from Jacob Allanson. Can you take the physicality
- 1:11Speaker 1: aspect of that game as something maybe to build off of?
- 1:15Speaker 2: Ah?
- 1:16Speaker 3: Well, I mean yeah, I guess you know, you know
- 1:21Speaker 3: you're gonna get that from Violins and every night pretty much.
- 1:24Speaker 3: You know, Lyndy that was a great hit. Unfortunately hurt
- 1:29Speaker 3: himself doing it. But sometimes those are the things that
- 1:33Speaker 3: happen when you lay your body on the line like
- 1:36Speaker 3: he does in all situations. You know, sometimes those things
- 1:39Speaker 3: can happen. Certainly, you know, he's a guy we're gonna
- 1:42Speaker 3: miss here for.
- 1:42Speaker 2: A little bit.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Do you attribute last night's overall performance to more russ,
- 1:47Speaker 1: to not being ready, to not being fresh? What do
- 1:49Speaker 1: you feel maybe contributed to that performance last night?
- 1:54Speaker 2: In your eyes?
- 1:56Speaker 3: I'm just mind boggled by the fact that we came
- 1:58Speaker 3: out and played that way. You know, Dallas had the
- 2:01Speaker 3: same break as we had. We can't use that for
- 2:05Speaker 3: an excuse. Our practices were really good leading into heading
- 2:09Speaker 3: to Dallas and then we just didn't didn't execute and
- 2:17Speaker 3: you know, disappointing.
- 2:20Speaker 2: So what do I attribute it to? I'm dumbfounded?
- 2:27Speaker 1: How was that we didn't get a ten? To ask
- 2:30Speaker 1: you about this yesterday and you were asked this morning
- 2:32Speaker 1: from from Piper Shaw. But two contract extensions for some
- 2:36Speaker 1: some guys that have put up some big numbers in
- 2:38Speaker 1: the role that they play in Ben Myers and Ryan Winterton,
- 2:41Speaker 1: two years extensions for them. What have they meant to
- 2:43Speaker 1: this team? And what has Ben and Ryan been like
- 2:45Speaker 1: to coach?
- 2:46Speaker 2: For you? Well, they're good, They're good. They mean a
- 2:48Speaker 2: lot to the hockey team.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Obviously, that fourth line has been very good all year
- 2:52Speaker 3: long for the most part, you know, and both of
- 2:56Speaker 3: them add an element of speed. They the game the
- 3:00Speaker 3: right way. They're focused, They compete every night. You know,
- 3:04Speaker 3: if you look at last night, who's probably our most
- 3:09Speaker 3: competitive guys? You know, and you got Lotson and you've
- 3:13Speaker 3: got Myers, and you know, you got Myers fighting, and
- 3:17Speaker 3: you know, he's earned it. Here's a guy who's sort
- 3:20Speaker 3: of come up the hard way. I guess I'd like
- 3:22Speaker 3: to see good things happen to good people, especially when
- 3:25Speaker 3: they deserve it, and he's he's done that. And I
- 3:28Speaker 3: just think Ryan Windchardon's going to continue to get better
- 3:31Speaker 3: and better. You know, his speed is dangerous. And I'm
- 3:35Speaker 3: happy for them, and I'm happy for the organization.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Looking at Saint Louis this morning, you characterize them all
- 3:41Speaker 1: not like Dallas, A big team that goes in front
- 3:42Speaker 1: of the net. They've got some skill with Cayrou and
- 3:44Speaker 1: Thomas and uh and that. Like, what are you expecting
- 3:48Speaker 1: out of the krackt here tonight? How can you handle
- 3:50Speaker 1: what Saint Louis is gonna throw at you?
- 3:52Speaker 3: Well, we better be a lot better than we were
- 3:53Speaker 3: last night in terms of our battle level and our focus,
- 3:57Speaker 3: you know, and we have to make sure that we're
- 4:02Speaker 3: solid in that department, because, like I said, it's a
- 4:05Speaker 3: physical team. It's a big team that plays well at
- 4:08Speaker 3: home for the most part. And you know, we're gonna
- 4:12Speaker 3: have to find a way to get to their net,
- 4:14Speaker 3: get a shot first mentality, instead of trying to pass
- 4:17Speaker 3: it into the net like we were last night.
- 4:19Speaker 2: And we're gonna have to keep pucks away from our net.
- 4:21Speaker 3: So I expect it to be a extremely difficult game
- 4:26Speaker 3: and a game in which everyone's gonna have to bring
- 4:29Speaker 3: their individual battle level to the table.
