- 1:50Speaker 3: issues out there and you know where they are, and
- 1:52Speaker 3: we've been reporting on for the last well over twenty
- 1:54Speaker 3: four hours now, but the cleanup does continue. Coming up
- 1:58Speaker 3: a little bit later on, we're going to talk to
- 1:59Speaker 3: making it his second straight appearance on the show for
- 2:03Speaker 3: two straight days. Lance Wheeler from the Kannah Canty Commission
- 2:06Speaker 3: already had him scheduled to be on today and then
- 2:08Speaker 3: yesterday of course we had a flooding situation. We checked
- 2:11Speaker 3: in with him, so he's going to be on the show.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Several things I want to talk about with Commissioner Wheeler,
- 2:15Speaker 3: including the flooding aspect of things. It was actually discussed
- 2:19Speaker 3: at the Canaw County Commission last night, So we're going
- 2:22Speaker 3: to talk to a Commissioner Wheeler about that. Plus we're
- 2:24Speaker 3: going to head into your weekend talking a little sports
- 2:27Speaker 3: with the Jim Workman from Wally and Whippies. He'll be
- 2:29Speaker 3: stopping by, of course it is Super Bowl weekend, and
- 2:33Speaker 3: also earlier in the week the WVU football schedule was

- 2:40Speaker 3: talk to Jim about that. Plus your calls and text

- 2:55Speaker 3: Gardner from the Gannaal Charleston Remain Association on with this
- 2:58Speaker 3: week's Adopt Me please pet of the week. Talked to
- 3:01Speaker 3: Hannovia text late last night and well Ryan has tried.
- 3:06Speaker 3: We've not been able to reach hand this morning. So
- 3:08Speaker 3: but as I always do, I already have the dog
- 3:10Speaker 3: taken care of. Our dog of the week, our pet
- 3:13Speaker 3: of the week, I should say, and as always the
- 3:14Speaker 3: pictures posted on Dave Allen Radio, on Facebook and also
- 3:18Speaker 3: on x the Yardist formerly known as Twitter. Our dog
- 3:21Speaker 3: this week's name is Sabrina. Now she is fully sponsored,
- 3:26Speaker 3: so she's also that means she's free. She is around
- 3:30Speaker 3: fifty pounds right about there. She is one year and
- 3:35Speaker 3: three months old. They say that she loves the snow,
- 3:39Speaker 3: which well that makes one of us. And she also
- 3:42Speaker 3: loves running in the snow. Probably, they say, needs a
- 3:46Speaker 3: fenced in yard because she does have a lot of energy.
- 3:49Speaker 3: And they report because people always want to know our
- 3:51Speaker 3: pets going to be kid friendly. She's had some bad
- 3:55Speaker 3: experiences with little kids in the past, so probably with
- 3:58Speaker 3: the older kids to be okay. So Hannah told me
- 4:01Speaker 3: maybe age ten and up should be okay. Probably just
- 4:05Speaker 3: be on the safe side there. And Sabrina can be
- 4:08Speaker 3: a little bashful at first. She loves other playful dogs.
- 4:12Speaker 3: And check this out, Ryan. She loves to eat boiled chicken,
- 4:15Speaker 3: So there you go, There you go. Sabrina is our
- 4:18Speaker 3: pet of the weekend. She again. Her picture is posted
- 4:21Speaker 3: on Dave Allen Radio, on Facebook and on Axe the
- 4:24Speaker 3: Artists from the Known to Twitter. So go check out Sabrina. Now.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yesterday there was some news that came out early yesterday morning,
- 4:30Speaker 3: just like a lot of kanav Valley, some flooding concerns
- 4:33Speaker 3: in and around the shelter yesterday. No dogs were injured
- 4:38Speaker 3: and if anything came they actually moved the pets to
- 4:41Speaker 3: a higher elevation there at the shelter and if anything
- 4:45Speaker 3: good came out of this. Very rarely does anything ever
- 4:48Speaker 3: good come out of a flooding situation. I do understand
- 4:52Speaker 3: and talking to Hannah yesterday, that they had I think
- 4:55Speaker 3: it was ten pets yesterday that were either adopted or
- 4:59Speaker 3: at least fostered out. I don't know if it had
- 5:02Speaker 3: to do with the high waters or what, but for
- 5:04Speaker 3: some reason, and you know, they're pretty much at capacity
- 5:07Speaker 3: year round anyway up there, but they were able to
- 5:10Speaker 3: get to ten. I think there was the number ten
- 5:12Speaker 3: dogs out the door yesterday at the Canawa County Animal Shelter,
- 5:15Speaker 3: so that is certainly some good news. Also, one of
- 5:18Speaker 3: the big events with the Animal Shelter is the annual
- 5:21Speaker 3: Tuxes and Tails event. That is that has been set
- 5:24Speaker 3: and they've got information on the dates and times and
- 5:26Speaker 3: everything available on the website. That's always one of I'm sorry,
- 5:29Speaker 3: on the social media, probably on the website too, but
- 5:31Speaker 3: it's also on the social media, and you know, that's
- 5:34Speaker 3: one of the big one of the premiere events. Charleston
- 5:36Speaker 3: dues people go all out for the Animal Shelters Tuxes
- 5:39Speaker 3: and Tails, and they've got the date set. You can
- 5:42Speaker 3: check that out on their Facebook page for more information there.
- 5:46Speaker 3: And also another another note here is if you are
- 5:50Speaker 3: of course, it's a Super Bowl weekend and it's going
- 5:52Speaker 3: to dominate a lot of the conversation over the next
- 5:54Speaker 3: forty eight to seventy two hours or so. There are
- 5:58Speaker 3: a great number of animals that are involved in the
- 6:01Speaker 3: annual Puppy Bowl that kind of coincides with the Super Bowl. Remember,
- 6:05Speaker 3: there is a dog from the Kanaw Humane Association that
- 6:08Speaker 3: is a part of Puppy Bowl. Now I don't exactly
- 6:11Speaker 3: know the name of the dog, but it's one of
- 6:14Speaker 3: them I'll try to get the information out to you
- 6:16Speaker 3: on social media. So that having been set, hold on
- 6:19Speaker 3: a second, I mean I got a couple of text here. Well, sorry,
- 6:21Speaker 3: Hannah's not available to oh okay, Well, I appreciate Texture
- 6:26Speaker 3: just sent me the information here, okay. Texas Alaska is
- 6:31Speaker 3: a thirteen year old puppy from the Kanaw Charleston Humane Association,
- 6:35Speaker 3: featured on the Adoptable segment of the Puppy Bowl. The
- 6:38Speaker 3: qute was born on Halloween. Nothing spooky about him, a
- 6:42Speaker 3: fuzzy bundle of love. And they give me more details
- 6:46Speaker 3: on that, so we don't know. The Texture wanted me
- 6:51Speaker 3: to ask Hannah. Unfortunately, Hannah's not here as to what
- 6:54Speaker 3: time it would be part of the Puppy Bowl. But yeah,
- 6:56Speaker 3: Alaska is the name of the dog. Apparently that's going
- 6:59Speaker 3: to be part of peop Bowl at some point from
- 7:01Speaker 3: the Humane Association, so look for Alaska text her. I
- 7:04Speaker 3: appreciate you bringing that up. All right, So again let's
- 7:08Speaker 3: review our pet of the week, and again the picture
- 7:10Speaker 3: posted over on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook and at
- 7:13Speaker 3: Dave A seventy on X Sabrina. She is fully sponsored,
- 7:17Speaker 3: so she is free around fifty pounds. She is a
- 7:21Speaker 3: one year and three months old. She loves the snow,
- 7:25Speaker 3: loves to run in the snow. She also loves boiled chicken,
- 7:28Speaker 3: so keep that in mind. Probably needs a fenced in yard.
- 7:31Speaker 3: And again, if you got little kids, probably not. Sabrena
- 7:35Speaker 3: is probably not the dog for you. But any child
- 7:38Speaker 3: that is a tenor above, Hannah says, should be okay.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Can be a little bit bashful at first, but again
- 7:43Speaker 3: does get along well with other dogs. So go check
- 7:45Speaker 3: out Sabrina. Let's go. We've had a really good run
- 7:48Speaker 3: folks the last couple of weeks of getting our pets
- 7:50Speaker 3: adopted here, so that is your assignment is let's go get.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Let's go get Sabrina adopted. Picture posted on Dave Allen
- 7:57Speaker 3: Radio on Facebook and at Dave A seventy on Twitter.
- 8:01Speaker 3: I may have said thirteen years old, thirteen months old,
- 8:03Speaker 3: thirteen week old. I'm sorry, thirteen week old. That's how
- 8:09Speaker 3: old Alaska is. I may have said thirteen months or
- 8:11Speaker 3: thirteen years or thirteen whatevers. It's thirteen week thirteen week
- 8:14Speaker 3: old puppy that will be part of puppy Bolt. Now.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I do have another little side note related to animals.
- 8:20Speaker 3: That I want to pass along to you. You heard
- 8:22Speaker 3: me talking about it on the show earlier this week

- 12:45Speaker 3: now for the second stray day. Kenna County Commissioner Lance Wheeler, Commission,
- 12:47Speaker 3: Good morning, Welcome to the show.
- 12:49Speaker 11: Good morning, Dave, thanks for having me on.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Well start, of course, yesterday I already had your scheduled
- 12:53Speaker 3: to be on today and then we forged you in
- 12:55Speaker 3: the action Action yesterday because of the flooding. I know
- 12:57Speaker 3: it was discussed at a length that the County commission
- 13:00Speaker 3: meeting last night. Let's talk about where we are right now.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I know that I was listening to the Morning News
- 13:06Speaker 3: this morning. They talked that, you know, the rivers are
- 13:08Speaker 3: starting to go down. I know there was some concern
- 13:10Speaker 3: with areas on the Elk River and things of that nature.
- 13:12Speaker 3: What can you tell us this morning.
- 13:14Speaker 8: Yeah, So, first off, I want to say the Governor
- 13:16Speaker 8: Jim just excuse me, Governor Patrick Morrissey in his office
- 13:20Speaker 8: sent out a declaration of emergency here in Kannall County
- 13:24Speaker 8: and Cabal County as well. And so what that means
- 13:26Speaker 8: is that the state is going to be sending resources
- 13:29Speaker 8: to help with assessments and potential clean up in some
- 13:32Speaker 8: of these areas that was afflicted. You know, what we
- 13:34Speaker 8: saw was again another flood that we've always talked about
- 13:38Speaker 8: here in Kannall County. It's always been eastern Connell County.
- 13:40Speaker 8: Those are the ones that are hit the hardest. And
- 13:43Speaker 8: so what we saw kind of on this one was
- 13:45Speaker 8: not only eastern Kennell County, but we saw Sissonville area
- 13:47Speaker 8: was probably impacted the most of everybody. We saw western
- 13:50Speaker 8: part of the county. So Tornado, Saint Albans, Nice Road,
- 13:52Speaker 8: cross lanes and some of these areas. Yet again, our
- 13:56Speaker 8: areas that have not been afflicted by flooding in pass
- 14:00Speaker 8: and so this is kind of new territory for emergency management.
- 14:03Speaker 8: It's kind of new territory for the property owners, you know,
- 14:07Speaker 8: so they have a lot of questions, you know, where
- 14:10Speaker 8: do I go for assistance? Where do I go for help?
- 14:12Speaker 8: So right now, what we're doing is we're doing what
- 14:14Speaker 8: we call windshield assessment. We're driving around with Emergency Management,
- 14:18Speaker 8: our plane department, and we're looking at the damage. We're
- 14:21Speaker 8: talking to property owners, and we're assessing exactly where that
- 14:24Speaker 8: damage is.
- 14:25Speaker 11: When it comes to help.
- 14:27Speaker 8: You know, what we have to do is we have
- 14:28Speaker 8: to look to see is there a threshold that the
- 14:30Speaker 8: FEMA will pay back and declaring this a natural disaster.
- 14:34Speaker 8: And so that's our hard work that we have to
- 14:36Speaker 8: do is prove that case. We're starting that right now.
- 14:40Speaker 8: But I've always said when it comes to a natural disaster,
- 14:43Speaker 8: it's not necessarily the damage that's caused from the flooding,
- 14:47Speaker 8: it's the hard work comes in at afterwards, right, And
- 14:50Speaker 8: so it's a lot of this assessment, it's a lot
- 14:52Speaker 8: of this talking to property owners and getting this data
- 14:56Speaker 8: collected so that way we could make a case if
- 14:58Speaker 8: we're going to go to the federal government for assistance.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I want to talk about the Culvert situation because this
- 15:04Speaker 3: is not unique to Kanawha County and I'm from southern
- 15:07Speaker 3: West Virginia. We see a lot of flooding down there too,
- 15:09Speaker 3: And every time it's not always now what we're looking
- 15:11Speaker 3: at when we after the rains or after the big
- 15:13Speaker 3: snow melts or whatever. River flooding. We understand that, but
- 15:16Speaker 3: a lot of times, it just seems to me the commissioner,
- 15:18Speaker 3: that so many of these things could be prevented, and
- 15:22Speaker 3: it's not always on the government to do that, you know.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Sometimes it's on the individuals, you know, to make sure
- 15:26Speaker 3: that your the storm drains are cleaned out, or that
- 15:28Speaker 3: areas on your roads are cleaned out of your ditches
- 15:30Speaker 3: or whatever. But it just seems like we keep going
- 15:32Speaker 3: back to this on the culvert situation.
- 15:34Speaker 8: You know, I've been on your show before when we
- 15:37Speaker 8: didn't even have flooding at the time, and I said that,
- 15:39Speaker 8: and I said, culverts and ditches being filled with debris,
- 15:43Speaker 8: sticks mud being clogged are a lot of the reasons
- 15:48Speaker 8: that we see the flooding here in Kannaw County that
- 15:51Speaker 8: we see today. And I think that that is the
- 15:53Speaker 8: biggest issue now when we look at the responsibility.
- 15:56Speaker 11: You're right, some of.
- 15:57Speaker 8: That's private property, and you know, we can't go in
- 16:00Speaker 8: and spend tax payer dollars on private property that's actually
- 16:03Speaker 8: illegal by state code. And some of this is actually
- 16:06Speaker 8: most of it is actually the responsibility of Department Highways.
- 16:10Speaker 11: Now I'll give them a little bit of.
- 16:13Speaker 8: Cover in the fact of that code says that they're
- 16:16Speaker 8: responsible for all the culverts and ditches across the state
- 16:20Speaker 8: of West Virginia. I mean, the amount of resources that
- 16:23Speaker 8: one department would have to have to be able to
- 16:24Speaker 8: clean those all out, it doesn't make sense. What we
- 16:27Speaker 8: need to do is we really need to look at
- 16:28Speaker 8: government and say, hey, how can we all work together.
- 16:31Speaker 8: How can the county commission in their respective county come
- 16:35Speaker 8: in and work with a state agency and seeing how
- 16:38Speaker 8: we can work together and actually create these culverts to
- 16:43Speaker 8: work first off, to unclog them so that they're working
- 16:46Speaker 8: properly during the flood. Because we can't just say, oh,
- 16:49Speaker 8: the storm's coming tomorrow, let's go out and clean all
- 16:51Speaker 8: the culverts in a nine hundred and eleven square mile county.
- 16:55Speaker 8: It's impossible, And so we really need to start looking
- 16:57Speaker 8: at how can government actually be better at helping out
- 17:01Speaker 8: not just private property owners with any assistance, but also
- 17:05Speaker 8: these ditches and culverts which are in right of ways,
- 17:07Speaker 8: which are the responsibility Department Highways. So we actually had
- 17:10Speaker 8: this conversation last night Commissioner Slango, Commissioner Tenant, myself and
- 17:14Speaker 8: we talked to CW Sigmun, our emergency management director, and
- 17:17Speaker 8: you know, he said, I know where a lot of
- 17:18Speaker 8: these culverts and ditches are. The Department of Powways doesn't
- 17:21Speaker 8: know where those are. You know, they have to cover
- 17:24Speaker 8: an entire state. We need to start working together. And
- 17:26Speaker 8: I think that's what we instructed CW to do. Go out,
- 17:29Speaker 8: talk with Department Pileways, get with planning, and figure out
- 17:33Speaker 8: to create a plan to bring back to this Commission
- 17:35Speaker 8: that we can start being proactive when it comes to
- 17:37Speaker 8: cleaning these culverts and ditches. You know, we're not blaming
- 17:40Speaker 8: anyone like a property owner, We're not blaming Department of Highways.
- 17:44Speaker 8: What we're saying is it's time that we work together
- 17:47Speaker 8: for the emptterment of the entire county and its people.
- 17:50Speaker 8: And if we're not able to do that, then we're
- 17:52Speaker 8: just going to continue to see these flooding and flooding
- 17:54Speaker 8: and flooding.
- 17:54Speaker 11: Over and over again. You know, we're not going to
- 17:56Speaker 11: prevent all flooding.
- 17:57Speaker 8: But I do believe that a lot of these areas
- 17:58Speaker 8: that got flooded, it's preventable if we can just work
- 18:01Speaker 8: together and actually be proactive in cleaning out these culverts
- 18:04Speaker 8: and ditches.
- 18:04Speaker 3: So how do we get everybody on the same page?
- 18:06Speaker 3: There there's the fifty million dollar question, Commissioner, how do
- 18:10Speaker 3: we get Department of Highways? How do we get the
- 18:12Speaker 3: County Commission, how do we get emergency How do we
- 18:14Speaker 3: get everybody on the same page.
- 18:15Speaker 8: I don't think anyone's reluctant to do it. I just
- 18:17Speaker 8: don't think that's been done yet. And that's what we
- 18:18Speaker 8: said last night. That's what this commission is doing. Is
- 18:21Speaker 8: going to be moving forward, is you know, saying let's
- 18:23Speaker 8: let's start those conversations. You know, I've always said things
- 18:26Speaker 8: great things can be done if nobody wants to take
- 18:29Speaker 8: the credit card, right, So we need to just work together.
- 18:33Speaker 8: Understand why we're working together, and that's to prevent further
- 18:36Speaker 8: flooding and being the embronment of the entire county and
- 18:38Speaker 8: it's people. And if we can move forward that I
- 18:40Speaker 8: think we can start seeing some real progress. Now, it's
- 18:42Speaker 8: going to take time. This is again a large county,
- 18:45Speaker 8: a lot of ditches, a lot of culverts. But as
- 18:47Speaker 8: long as we start the progress progress now, I think
- 18:50Speaker 8: we're going to be able to see a lot of
- 18:52Speaker 8: good things that can happen, and we'll see a lot
- 18:54Speaker 8: less flooding in future weather events.
- 18:57Speaker 3: And I do want to make sure that people realize
- 18:59Speaker 3: that there are sometimes I mean, yeah, I didn't want
- 19:03Speaker 3: to jump the gun to be too hasty there to
- 19:04Speaker 3: say this is all on somebody, whether it's Department of Highways,
- 19:07Speaker 3: because mother nature does what mother nature wants to do.
- 19:11Speaker 3: And when you get three inches of rain, as some
- 19:14Speaker 3: people did in a short amount of time, you're going
- 19:17Speaker 3: to have problems. If you have the most the most
- 19:20Speaker 3: pristine of plans, you're gonna have problems with that much rain.
- 19:23Speaker 8: Absolutely, there's there's only so much you can do with
- 19:25Speaker 8: so much water coming in at one time. But I
- 19:28Speaker 8: do think that there's areas that we can mitigate before
- 19:32Speaker 8: a flood comes and it will help either reduce or
- 19:37Speaker 8: eliminate that flooding in that area. There's nothing wrong with
- 19:40Speaker 8: us asking the question what more can we do as
- 19:43Speaker 8: a government official, And so that's what this commission has asked.
- 19:47Speaker 8: Our emergency management c W. Sigmund and our planning department
- 19:51Speaker 8: to do is to get together, work together and figure
- 19:54Speaker 8: out things that we can do to lessen the burden
- 19:56Speaker 8: of flooding in Kannall County.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Talking again with the Cannah Cana Comisioner Land Wheeler to
- 20:00Speaker 3: the Dave Allen Show in five and E Live is
- 20:02Speaker 3: brought too far by Snap Fitness. Snap offers a wide
- 20:05Speaker 3: array of professional wellness services, customized personal training, license recovery experts,
- 20:09Speaker 3: and a staff of dieticians. Five convenient locations too here
- 20:12Speaker 3: in Charleston, also Hurricane Winfield, Barbersville, and Milton. Visits snapfitness
- 20:16Speaker 3: dot com for more details. And I do want to
- 20:18Speaker 3: say if you want to read some more of the
- 20:21Speaker 3: actual stories of the people impacted by the flooding yesterday,
- 20:23Speaker 3: Chris Lawrence has got a great story at wv metronews
- 20:26Speaker 3: dot com. He was actually out there when the morning
- 20:28Speaker 3: news ended yesterday talking to these people and going in
- 20:32Speaker 3: and interviewing them, and there's some pictures and things of
- 20:35Speaker 3: that nature on the website. We'll move ahead just a
- 20:38Speaker 3: little bit talk about something a little bit happier, and
- 20:42Speaker 3: that is getting outdoors and enjoying the great outdoors. And
- 20:46Speaker 3: I understand you're going to be doing some stocking, some
- 20:49Speaker 3: fishing holes, so to speak.
- 20:50Speaker 11: Yeah, you're absolutely right.
- 20:52Speaker 8: Who doesn't want to go out here in West Virginia
- 20:54Speaker 8: and the great outdoors, Enjoy the fresh air, enjoy the mountains,
- 20:57Speaker 8: enjoy the waters. So this can all kind of commit
- 21:00Speaker 8: For years now has created a program of stalking the
- 21:04Speaker 8: Blue Creek River over in the Clendenon area with trout
- 21:08Speaker 8: and we do that in the spring, and we usually
- 21:10Speaker 8: do it in the fall as well. And this is
- 21:12Speaker 8: just a great opportunity for people to come out enjoy
- 21:15Speaker 8: the outdoors in the local area and these unincorporated areas
- 21:18Speaker 8: that we serve as a kind of commission and give
- 21:21Speaker 8: them an opportunity that they can enjoy West Virginia and
- 21:25Speaker 8: these outdoor activities. But it's not just about them. What
- 21:28Speaker 8: we see when we do this is they bring their kids.
- 21:31Speaker 8: This is for the kids. This is for kids can
- 21:33Speaker 8: come out with their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, you know,
- 21:37Speaker 8: family members enjoy a moment together being outdoors, getting off
- 21:42Speaker 8: an Xbox and a PlayStation and just getting outdoors and
- 21:45Speaker 8: learning how to fish and just having that moment with
- 21:48Speaker 8: those memories with the family and so us doing this
- 21:51Speaker 8: as giving that back to the community. We see tremendous
- 21:54Speaker 8: amount of support people coming out not just on the
- 21:56Speaker 8: day that we stalk, but throughout the entire weeks ahead
- 22:00Speaker 8: of people telling us, hey, we went out and we
- 22:02Speaker 8: caught a trout over in a blue creek. You know,
- 22:04Speaker 8: I my office. We move forward to looking at Meadowood
- 22:07Speaker 8: over in Tornado. Again, that's another unincorporated area. Meadowood is
- 22:10Speaker 8: a park owned by the County Commission through a parks
- 22:13Speaker 8: and wreck and we have a nice little pond on there,
- 22:15Speaker 8: and I said, well, why don't we just stalk this
- 22:17Speaker 8: as well so we can serve this area. So we
- 22:19Speaker 8: started doing that. So with this in the spring, we're
- 22:22Speaker 8: going to be stalking three thousand pounds of trouts in
- 22:25Speaker 8: the Blue Creek area in Clendenon, and then for the
- 22:28Speaker 8: Meadowood Park pond in Tornado, we're going to be stalking
- 22:31Speaker 8: I believe it's one hundred pounds of catfish and bass.
- 22:35Speaker 8: And so this is again another opportunity to come out
- 22:37Speaker 8: with the kids, come out yourself, make sure you have
- 22:41Speaker 8: your fishing license, but make you come on out, enjoy
- 22:43Speaker 8: the outdoors and just share some memories.
- 22:45Speaker 11: With the family again.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Lance Wheeler is with us, and there are so many
- 22:49Speaker 3: opportunities for people to get out in Kanawha County and
- 22:52Speaker 3: with the winner that we've had, you know, I have
- 22:56Speaker 3: a bill love any sense at all, they're going to
- 22:58Speaker 3: want to get outdoors, even a fan of the great
- 23:00Speaker 3: indoors like me. You know, I'm thinking I should probably
- 23:04Speaker 3: get out a little bit more because there's a lot
- 23:06Speaker 3: of things to do here in Conall County.
- 23:07Speaker 8: And see, that's the thing about Kannall County is a
- 23:09Speaker 8: lot you know, we are very royal, but we're very
- 23:11Speaker 8: urban at the same time, and so we have that
- 23:13Speaker 8: perfect mixture. You know, Dave, if you want to go
- 23:15Speaker 8: out the outdoors and be on a dirt bike or
- 23:17Speaker 8: go fishing in a pond, you can do that. And
- 23:19Speaker 8: then later that evening you can go to a restaurant
- 23:21Speaker 8: with your family in Charleston and join the downtown street. So,
- 23:25Speaker 8: you know, Kanaal County is a beautiful area. We have
- 23:28Speaker 8: everything going for us. We really just need to market
- 23:31Speaker 8: it more. And you know I mentioned our Conventions Visitors
- 23:33Speaker 8: Bureau that we just started and got a credit for.
- 23:35Speaker 8: That's going to be part of that program of not
- 23:37Speaker 8: just educating people to come to Kanall County for as
- 23:40Speaker 8: a tourist, but to really experience all the local businesses
- 23:43Speaker 8: and opportunities that we have in this county for our
- 23:45Speaker 8: locals as well.
- 23:46Speaker 3: And I don't want to you know, I think I'm
- 23:49Speaker 3: going to have you on a show in the future
- 23:51Speaker 3: because there is maybe some announcements coming out about some
- 23:54Speaker 3: more things that are going to be coming to Kanawha County.
- 23:56Speaker 3: You can't talk about it right now, but you're excited
- 23:58Speaker 3: about about some stuff there commiss You know.
- 24:00Speaker 8: I announced the hat film McCoy Dirt Bike Trails right
- 24:03Speaker 8: here on this show. That took two years of planning
- 24:07Speaker 8: and it took about six to eight months of construction.
- 24:10Speaker 8: These projects take time. A lot of people ask, well,
- 24:12Speaker 8: what's next. Well, those announcements are coming. I think we
- 24:16Speaker 8: might be able to announce next week. But we have
- 24:17Speaker 8: a really big project that we're working on for outdoor
- 24:20Speaker 8: recreation that we've been talking with some of the partners involved,
- 24:24Speaker 8: and I'm very excited about it. I think it's a
- 24:26Speaker 8: wonderful opportunity and I can't wait to have the announcement
- 24:28Speaker 8: and we're going to do it right here on your show.
- 24:30Speaker 11: Dave.
- 24:30Speaker 3: All right, sounds good. I appreciate that. Yeah, and you
- 24:33Speaker 3: guys to let me know what day so then I
- 24:34Speaker 3: can tease it and we can and we can we
- 24:36Speaker 3: can sell more AD dollars on.
- 24:37Speaker 11: Oh I will.
- 24:38Speaker 8: I will let you know as the more the more
- 24:40Speaker 8: listeners you have for the announcement, the better I want
- 24:42Speaker 8: everybody to hear about this announcement.
- 24:44Speaker 3: All right, I'll get with you later and we'll kind
- 24:45Speaker 3: of tease it just to what day you're gonna be on,
- 24:47Speaker 3: maybe one day next week or the week.
- 24:48Speaker 11: After you think, or yes, I think one day next
- 24:50Speaker 11: week is going to be perfect.
- 24:51Speaker 3: All right, CONNC Count of commission Lance Wheeler, there's always
- 24:54Speaker 3: a pleasure to have you in the show man. I appreciate.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Oh.
- 24:56Speaker 3: By the way, I forgot to ask you the big question. Yeah,
- 24:58Speaker 3: Kansas City or Philly? Who you take.
- 25:00Speaker 8: I'm going to take Philly because as Barkley's story I
- 25:04Speaker 8: think is remarkable. It's a great story. And that's that's
- 25:07Speaker 8: that's how remarkable that story is. Because I'm a Cowboys fan, ye,
- 25:10Speaker 8: and I'm rooting for Philly.
- 25:11Speaker 3: How did Kanawah County get and I don't I not
- 25:13Speaker 3: having talked to Commissioner tenant about this, But how did
- 25:17Speaker 3: Kanah County get at least two of the three county
- 25:20Speaker 3: commissioners to be Cowboys fans?
- 25:21Speaker 8: Because we're really good at being an elected official, being transparent,
- 25:27Speaker 8: being responsible with taxpayer dollars, but we're terrible at picking
- 25:31Speaker 8: football fans.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Okay, So you're going with Philly.
- 25:34Speaker 8: I'm going with Philly. Barkley story is absolutely amazing. And
- 25:37Speaker 8: if it wasn't for that those behind the scenes of
- 25:39Speaker 8: his free agency, I think the story for Barkley would
- 25:42Speaker 8: be completely different today that he left for a Super
- 25:44Speaker 8: Bowl team.
- 25:45Speaker 11: This was him being jail, you know.
- 25:47Speaker 8: I think this story is incredible for him, and I
- 25:49Speaker 8: just want to support Barkley.
- 25:51Speaker 3: All right, there you go. All right, So there's our
- 25:52Speaker 3: first prediction. Commissioner Lance Wheeler says, Philadelphia wins. All right,
- 25:56Speaker 3: Commissioner'll talk to you soon. Man, Thanks a lot. But

- 29:57Speaker 3: You believe that, right? Let me see text says don't
- 30:01Speaker 3: know where a previous texture got the deranged thought from
- 30:04Speaker 3: West Virginia's a proven over and over again through the
- 30:06Speaker 3: decades that we do not just sit around, ask for
- 30:10Speaker 3: and wait for the government to help each other. We
- 30:12Speaker 3: jump all in and do it ourselves. Not to mention
- 30:14Speaker 3: helping people in other states, like the miners who in Ashville,
- 30:18Speaker 3: North Carolina or Ashville, North Carolina called the West Virginia
- 30:21Speaker 3: Boys who went down there on their own time, of
- 30:23Speaker 3: their own time and time and cleared out the roads
- 30:26Speaker 3: where the government said, when the government said could take
- 30:28Speaker 3: up to eighteen months. Best thing government can ever do
- 30:30Speaker 3: is get out of the way, says a Texter. Okay,
- 30:37Speaker 3: I'm not going to read that one. Texas, West Virginia
- 30:41Speaker 3: needs to stick to its principles and reject federal assistance.
- 30:44Speaker 3: As a text, when disasters happened in West Virginia, Republicans
- 30:49Speaker 3: come hat in hand for federal assistance mainly provided by
- 30:52Speaker 3: blue states. As a texture, tex says Dave Morrisy talking
- 30:58Speaker 3: about illegals in West Virginia stopping fentanyl coming into the
- 31:01Speaker 3: state where he where was he with? The opioids were
- 31:04Speaker 3: passed out like candy on his watch, two thousand deaths
- 31:08Speaker 3: per year, the number one killer of all drugs on
- 31:10Speaker 3: the streets. As a Texter, Texas Dave, if the state
- 31:13Speaker 3: legislature could work for the people like Kanawha County Commission does,
- 31:16Speaker 3: we would all be better off. No social issues as
- 31:20Speaker 3: a text. Coming up a Monday show, Delicate Kaylie Young
- 31:22Speaker 3: is here. Of course, the session will begin at the
- 31:25Speaker 3: capitol next Week's State of the State and all that
- 31:27Speaker 3: good stuff. About a month late because they do that
- 31:29Speaker 3: when a new governor comes in. But we'll talk to
- 31:32Speaker 3: Delicate Kaylee Young from Americana add County and get her
- 31:34Speaker 3: thoughts on the upcoming session. Stay Treasurer Larry Pack will
- 31:37Speaker 3: be stopping by the studio on Monday, as will former
- 31:41Speaker 3: Charleston Meir Danny Jones. We had to have him rescheduled.
- 31:44Speaker 3: I originally had Danny on the show yesterday. He did
- 31:47Speaker 3: make his appearance on talk Line, but I couldn't have
- 31:49Speaker 3: him on the show yesterday because we kind of spent
- 31:51Speaker 3: the whole show talking about flooding issues yesterday. But I
- 31:53Speaker 3: do have Danny backing studio, A grilled Danny on some

- 32:04Speaker 3: One other news note, it was announced yesterday that Paula
- 32:07Speaker 3: Potter will be the new Canawh County School Superintendent. She'll
- 32:10Speaker 3: be taking over for the retiring Tom Williams. Kat Skelton
- 32:13Speaker 3: has a story posted about that over at wv metronews

- 32:20Speaker 3: will be on the show next week. I think Thursday

- 32:25Speaker 3: to see what she has to say. Again, we have
- 32:27Speaker 3: the story posted by Kat skeltonwv Metronews dot com. The
- 32:30Speaker 3: news team did an interview with her yesterday. I'll have
- 32:32Speaker 3: expanded an interview on Thursday's show with the new superintendent

- 33:13Speaker 3: States Premiere Sports Publication. Willian Weippees, how you doing.
- 33:17Speaker 5: Hey doing great? Dave, appreciate being in here. This is
- 33:20Speaker 5: one of the highlights of my week.
- 33:22Speaker 3: You probably need to get a life, Jim, not gonna
- 33:24Speaker 3: say that. And Instagram, okay, on Instagram, ye see. If
- 33:28Speaker 3: there's so many things out there for people to do
- 33:31Speaker 3: what I do, and just for general you know, normal
- 33:34Speaker 3: people too, not people like me, I mean normal people.
- 33:36Speaker 3: I mean you got the Facebook, you got you know,
- 33:38Speaker 3: the Snapchat, you got, the Instagram, you got what's there's
- 33:42Speaker 3: a telegram now and been there like a blue sky
- 33:45Speaker 3: or something like that. Now, how do you how do
- 33:46Speaker 3: you keep up with a you're a media mogul, how
- 33:48Speaker 3: do you keep up with all this?
- 33:49Speaker 5: You know, I'm not a big fan of Facebook and
- 33:53Speaker 5: Twitter as far as I forget about it. This discussion
- 33:56Speaker 5: goes on like with politics and things like that. I mean,
- 34:00Speaker 5: but it's a necessary evil, I think. To get your
- 34:03Speaker 5: name out there, to get your brand out there, to
- 34:05Speaker 5: get your content out there, you have to be on there.
- 34:08Speaker 5: So that's that's as much as I engage on there
- 34:11Speaker 5: all right, But now you are on what all of them?
- 34:13Speaker 5: Pretty much on the three x. Twitter is probably my favorite,
- 34:18Speaker 5: and then Facebook and Instagram.
- 34:20Speaker 3: The thing I've discovered about Twitter X, it's always going
- 34:25Speaker 3: to be Twitter to me, you know, it's kind of
- 34:26Speaker 3: like the coddle seem of convention centers. Most people as
- 34:29Speaker 3: always going to be the civic center, just part of it.
- 34:31Speaker 3: The thing I have noticed about Twitter is it seems
- 34:34Speaker 3: to me that there is a lot more and there's
- 34:37Speaker 3: a lot of fake information everywhere out there. We know that,
- 34:39Speaker 3: but it seems like it's a lot more on Twitter.
- 34:42Speaker 3: And one of the things I like about Facebook a
- 34:45Speaker 3: little bit more is you can kind of control a
- 34:48Speaker 3: little bit more what you see. If you have somebody
- 34:51Speaker 3: that maybe you're friends with, but you don't want to
- 34:53Speaker 3: see their pro Trump or anti Trump, no matter what
- 34:55Speaker 3: camp you're in, I'm gonna be equal opportunity there. You
- 34:57Speaker 3: can unfoddel them. But I've known that on Twitter, I
- 35:01Speaker 3: get the most outrageous things and they're all related to
- 35:04Speaker 3: politics or whatever and stuff that it's crap that can't
- 35:07Speaker 3: possibly in a million years be true. I see a
- 35:10Speaker 3: lot more of that on x than what I do
- 35:13Speaker 3: on Facebook.
- 35:13Speaker 5: Maybe it's just me let me help you out. I
- 35:15Speaker 5: just discovered this. There's two tabs on X Now there's
- 35:18Speaker 5: one that's just a general flow of information. Then there's
- 35:22Speaker 5: one only of the things that you're following so just
- 35:25Speaker 5: make sure you can unfollow those things you don't want
- 35:27Speaker 5: to see.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Yeah, got it, yep, social media one on one, Curtesy,
- 35:31Speaker 3: you two old guys. All right, we'll talk about Super
- 35:34Speaker 3: Bowl with a little bit later on, but earlier this week, Jim,
- 35:37Speaker 3: the WVU football schedule was finalized for the twenty twenty
- 35:40Speaker 3: five season. Overall thoughts on the schedule.
- 35:42Speaker 5: I'll tell you what I think that WVU is going
- 35:46Speaker 5: to have a good year. And I think, as always,
- 35:49Speaker 5: they're gonna win a game that they have no business winning,
- 35:52Speaker 5: and they're gonna lose a game that they have no
- 35:54Speaker 5: business losing. And I've run down the schedule and I
- 35:58Speaker 5: can give you my record, and I give you my
- 36:00Speaker 5: upset special already in February.
- 36:02Speaker 3: February. Okay, what do you got it? So they're going
- 36:04Speaker 3: to go nine and three overall. Write this down, listeners,
- 36:07Speaker 3: that's right, Jim Workman says, the Mountaineers go nine and
- 36:09Speaker 3: three and take them to the bank. Take it to
- 36:11Speaker 3: the bank.
- 36:11Speaker 5: They're gonna go nine and three. They're going to go
- 36:13Speaker 5: seven and two in the Big twelve, which means they're
- 36:16Speaker 5: going to lose a non conference game, and guess which
- 36:18Speaker 5: one they tell me, tell me, oh, hi, Bobcats are
- 36:21Speaker 5: going to beat the West Virginia Mountaineers.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Really yep, well that's going to make people like Amanda
- 36:26Speaker 3: Baron and Rob Cornelius really happy. But but again you're saying,
- 36:30Speaker 3: oh you beat what what do you base that on?
- 36:32Speaker 3: Old wise one? I have notes.
- 36:35Speaker 5: Oh hi, the Ohio Bobcats were first place in the
- 36:38Speaker 5: MAC last year. They won a bowl game. Guess who
- 36:42Speaker 5: they beaten the bowl game last year there they beat
- 36:44Speaker 5: Jacksonville State. West Virginia University brought in about a dozen
- 36:48Speaker 5: guys from Jacksonville State. So, oh hi, I beat them
- 36:51Speaker 5: in the Cure Bowl back in December. Okay, well on
- 36:54Speaker 5: these same guys, they won their last seven in a row.
- 36:57Speaker 5: And they've got a graduate quarterback, like a fifth year
- 37:01Speaker 5: quarterback that is a dual threat. He's a really good guy,
- 37:04Speaker 5: good good quarterback, dual threat throws. Well, they've got the
- 37:08Speaker 5: freshman of the year tight end coming back, and a
- 37:12Speaker 5: couple of years ago they had the freshman of the
- 37:14Speaker 5: year running back in the MAC. He had a great
- 37:17Speaker 5: couple of years in the MAC for Ohio. He transferred
- 37:20Speaker 5: to Minnesota. Think you know, I guess thinking he's going
- 37:24Speaker 5: to try to go a little bit bigger. He's back.
- 37:27Speaker 5: He's back with Ohio. They've got an offensive coordinator that's inventive.
- 37:33Speaker 5: Like I said, the Parker Navarro, the quarterback is a
- 37:36Speaker 5: good one. They've had three straight ten win seasons. A
- 37:38Speaker 5: lot of people around here really don't realize that. So
- 37:42Speaker 5: I'm thinking that Ohio is going to surprise the Mountaineers
- 37:45Speaker 5: in Week two. First first road game for the Mountaineers
- 37:49Speaker 5: in Rich rod and then they're gonna rebound that well.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Let me let me go ahead and make my prediction,
- 37:54Speaker 3: ok Jimbo, since you made George, here's my prediction. If
- 37:57Speaker 3: this happens as you say, in West Virginia loses that
- 38:00Speaker 3: second game against Ohio University, get ready for them to ready,
- 38:04Speaker 3: get ready for the fire. Rich Rodriguez chance to start. No,
- 38:09Speaker 3: I don't think that's gonna happen. I think they're just
- 38:10Speaker 3: write it down.
- 38:11Speaker 5: They're gonna beat Robert Morris dope in the year at
- 38:13Speaker 5: everybody's gonna feel great about that. And then they're gonna
- 38:16Speaker 5: get a little bit of a shock in Athens, and
- 38:19Speaker 5: then they're gonna they're gonna bounce back nicely.
- 38:21Speaker 3: You yeah, yeah, Okay, and Uh, is it too early
- 38:24Speaker 3: to talk about a Bowl for him next year? If
- 38:25Speaker 3: you looked at that, I guess at all there's probably
- 38:27Speaker 3: a lot of variables on that, though there is.
- 38:29Speaker 5: I mean, ninety three is definitely gonna get you a bowl.
- 38:31Speaker 5: It's probably it's not gonna be Uh, they're probably not
- 38:34Speaker 5: gonna be in the top sixteen. They're not getting getting
- 38:37Speaker 5: in the playoffs. But they'll get a decent bowl. They'll
- 38:39Speaker 5: get a good crowd to a warm weather, they'll feel
- 38:43Speaker 5: good about their season, and uh, they'll build for the
- 38:46Speaker 5: next season.
- 38:47Speaker 3: All Right, we're talking to Jim Workman again from Waly
- 38:50Speaker 3: and Whimpy's The Day Island showing five a d Live
- 38:51Speaker 3: brought to you apart by Bridge Valley offering custom tailored
- 38:54Speaker 3: trainings to supply skilled graduates and apprenticeships for your company.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Visit Bridge Valley dot E d U. All Right, any
- 39:00Speaker 3: further thoughts on rich Rod? You were the first guy
- 39:02Speaker 3: I think I had on the show talking about rich
- 39:04Speaker 3: Rod's higher Any further thoughts. I mean, there's not a
- 39:07Speaker 3: whole lot that's happened other than him, you know, doing
- 39:09Speaker 3: some media appearance and things of that nature. Any thoughts
- 39:11Speaker 3: on rich Rock yeah, I.
- 39:12Speaker 5: Think the excitement level for recruiting is as good as
- 39:17Speaker 5: it could ever get in Morgantown. With you know, Pat
- 39:20Speaker 5: McAfee and the Adam pac Man Jones guys talking up
- 39:25Speaker 5: you know, on a daily basis, on a national platform,
- 39:28Speaker 5: on TV and on social media. I think maybe they've
- 39:31Speaker 5: got a chance to get Chris Henry Junior next year.
- 39:35Speaker 5: He's committed to OHI State. You know, he's a very
- 39:38Speaker 5: highly recruited wide receiver, and of course Adam Pacman Jones
- 39:43Speaker 5: helped raise him after his father passed away tragically when
- 39:47Speaker 5: he was young, and you know, I really think that
- 39:51Speaker 5: he's given him a shot in the arm. Rich Rod
- 39:54Speaker 5: Fever for West Virginia University is nothing but going to
- 39:58Speaker 5: do nothing but to help them.
- 39:59Speaker 3: That's quick talk about WVU basketball. They've had some big
- 40:02Speaker 3: wins this season, gym, but they struggle at times on
- 40:05Speaker 3: the road. I think I heard this morning they've lost
- 40:06Speaker 3: three in a row away from the coliseum. On the road,
- 40:08Speaker 3: they had.
- 40:09Speaker 5: A really bad losing streak. They bounced back with a
- 40:13Speaker 5: victory last week. But you know, Big twelve is a
- 40:16Speaker 5: really good basketball conference, so I think they've exceeded expectations already.
- 40:21Speaker 5: They only brought one guy back from last season's team.
- 40:24Speaker 5: So I mean to post a couple of impressive wins
- 40:28Speaker 5: like they did, especially at Kansas for the first time,
- 40:31Speaker 5: I think gave them a lot of confidence. They just
- 40:33Speaker 5: need to kind of get it together. And you know,
- 40:36Speaker 5: it doesn't matter until March anyway, right, I mean, make
- 40:39Speaker 5: a good run in the tournament, in the conference tournament,
- 40:42Speaker 5: get a good seed in the tournament, maybe get a
- 40:44Speaker 5: couple of rounds in, and I think that's going to
- 40:46Speaker 5: be a successful season for a team that had zero expectations.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Let me go back your a minute and a Textra
- 40:51Speaker 3: pointed this out and we both skipped over this. You
- 40:55Speaker 3: said the surprise upset by that Ohio University would beat
- 40:59Speaker 3: WVU this year was a surprise win. I don't think
- 41:01Speaker 3: we covered the surprise win. We both missed that somehow.
- 41:04Speaker 5: All Right, I think that, well, here's here's the wins
- 41:08Speaker 5: that I have. I think TCU is going to be
- 41:10Speaker 5: the surprise win. Okay, because TCU was pretty good. They
- 41:14Speaker 5: were nine to four overall last year. But they're coming
- 41:18Speaker 5: into Morgantown on homecoming, so that's October the twenty fifth.
- 41:22Speaker 5: I think they beat TCU. But the other wins that
- 41:24Speaker 5: I have for the Mountaineers are Pitt. Actually, I have
- 41:27Speaker 5: them going undefeated at home this year. Okay, Robert Morris
- 41:31Speaker 5: pitt Utah, Utah was picked number one.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Last. They have a Friday Night game this year, don't they.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Friday Night is BYU. I have them losing that in
- 41:40Speaker 3: Provo Utah And Okay, so that's one of the loss
- 41:43Speaker 3: So TCU's win. They're going to beat Colorado at home,
- 41:46Speaker 3: and they're gonna beat Texas Tech in the season finale
- 41:49Speaker 3: at home. But the losses are Ohio BYU and Arizona State.

- 45:24Speaker 3: I can in the throes of news, you can refer
- 45:28Speaker 3: to it as the Super Bowl, but we cannot try
- 45:31Speaker 3: to sell it. So in the championship game for the
- 45:34Speaker 3: Lombardi Trophy between the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles and the
- 45:39Speaker 3: American Football Conference champion Kansas City Chiefs. What are you
- 45:44Speaker 3: looking for?
- 45:45Speaker 5: I think the Philadelphia Eagles are going to win this one.
- 45:47Speaker 5: They're going to end the three peat threat by the
- 45:50Speaker 5: Kansas City Chiefs. I think Jalen Hurtz was concussed in
- 45:54Speaker 5: Week sixteen. I think he's going to be healthy enough.
- 45:58Speaker 5: He's proved in the playoff, and I think with Saquon Barkley,
- 46:03Speaker 5: Jalen Hurts great defense for Philadelphia. I think they pull
- 46:07Speaker 5: it out, and I'm gonna say they win it by
- 46:09Speaker 5: a touchdown.
- 46:10Speaker 3: Okay, all right, Hey TJ. Meadows is here to a

- 46:19Speaker 3: for you, Jim, but go ahead. You want to weigh
- 46:20Speaker 3: in on.
- 46:21Speaker 7: Give me the Cowboys because they have the best helmets
- 46:24Speaker 7: and never let me live that down.
- 46:25Speaker 3: That's why I became a Cowboys fan. All Right? What
- 46:27Speaker 3: do you think in Philly? Are No?
- 46:29Speaker 7: I'm gonna go Chiefs. I think it's I don't know
- 46:32Speaker 7: about the score. I think one touchdown is probably good. Yeah,
- 46:35Speaker 7: but that's what I'm gonna go. The I'm gonna go
- 46:37Speaker 7: to the Chiefs.
- 46:37Speaker 3: I got the Chiefs twenty eight twenty one, I think so,
- 46:40Speaker 3: And like as I've been saying, and TJ and I
- 46:43Speaker 3: talked about this yesterday, all these conspiracy theories about the
- 46:46Speaker 3: Chiefs and you know whatever in them getting the calls.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Quarterbacks in generals get calls, you know, no matter who
- 46:53Speaker 3: they are. And I really don't care, to be honest
- 46:55Speaker 3: with you, who wins or loses this game. Being a
- 46:57Speaker 3: cowboy fan, I cannot possibly cheer for Philadelphia, So I
- 47:01Speaker 3: guess I'm pulling for Kansas City, but I really don't care.
- 47:04Speaker 3: I doubt I'll even stay away for the whole thing,
- 47:06Speaker 3: to be honest with you, One thing I will guarantee you, though,
- 47:09Speaker 3: is that people will complain about the halftime show. Because
- 47:13Speaker 3: if you don't like the halftime show, as we saw
- 47:15Speaker 3: the last couple of years, that's what people argue about
- 47:17Speaker 3: more on social media is if you dare say anything
- 47:19Speaker 3: about the halftime show, then you're a horrible person. And
- 47:22Speaker 3: if you don't like it because the performer happens to,
- 47:25Speaker 3: you know, be a hip hop or right than you're racist.
- 47:28Speaker 3: You can you can dislike something you know, no matter
- 47:32Speaker 3: what I mean, I don't even watch the halftime show,
- 47:35Speaker 3: to be honest with you. That's my time to go
- 47:37Speaker 3: grab another beer or grab some more food out of
- 47:39Speaker 3: the kitchen. So I'm not even probably going to watch
- 47:41Speaker 3: the half time. And you, like I said, on the commercials,
- 47:43Speaker 3: you've already seen the commercials. I mean they're everywhere. I
- 47:45Speaker 3: don't know if there's any commercial I haven't seen, but
- 47:47Speaker 3: I'm going with KC twenty eight twenty one. What are
- 47:49Speaker 3: we eating Jim on for Super Bowl? For you, man?
- 47:53Speaker 5: I think you have to go wings? Oh yeah, wings
- 47:56Speaker 5: and maybe pizza.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, the Staples Jay.
- 48:01Speaker 7: So normally I smoke a Chuck roast, but I don't
- 48:03Speaker 7: have that kind of time this weekend. So I'm gonna
- 48:04Speaker 7: smoke some wings before he start on Sunday early Sunday afternoon,
- 48:07Speaker 7: and that'll be the deal.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Nothing like. So we're invited, is that what you're saying?
- 48:12Speaker 6: Uh?
- 48:12Speaker 7: Check with the missage. She controls all the activities.
- 48:15Speaker 12: We know that.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I got it. I got it. Jim Texas West
- 48:19Speaker 3: Virginia has only finished above five hundred one time at
- 48:22Speaker 3: the Big twelve. It's the weakest the Big has seen
- 48:25Speaker 3: in the history of the conference. They're going seven and five,
- 48:28Speaker 3: says the Texter.
- 48:30Speaker 5: Okay, get your own radio show.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Hey, don't insalt my love.
- 48:36Speaker 7: I think Kelsey's gone the winn or lose.
- 48:37Speaker 11: I think he's done.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he's got a big enough brand right now.
- 48:41Speaker 3: He doesn't need the NFL, and the NFL needs him a
- 48:43Speaker 3: lot more than he needs the NFL. Text says Dear Dave,
- 48:46Speaker 3: win or lose, Philly will burn down half the city.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Philly going to Philly since a Texter tex says Eagles
- 48:52Speaker 3: win thirty one to twenty eight. Texas, Dave, I love
- 48:55Speaker 3: that Trump will be there. Football fans love him. Over
- 48:58Speaker 3: the years, we've made homemade subs or Ninies chips with
- 49:00Speaker 3: dep chips and salcea or buffalo chicken Depp and my
- 49:03Speaker 3: favorite wings, Gino's original breaded wings dessert is mandarin orange cake.
- 49:08Speaker 3: That's where we're going. We're gonna find out where this
- 49:10Speaker 3: person is.
- 49:11Speaker 7: Say, I'm canceling my smoke.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you had me at any of that
- 49:14Speaker 3: live remote from that last I broke that person's out.
- 49:17Speaker 3: We're just gonna show up and go, hey, we're here.
- 49:20Speaker 3: We won't even have equipment plugged into anything. We'll just
- 49:22Speaker 3: pretend we're on it. Jim, what else is getting your
- 49:25Speaker 3: attention in the world of sports these days? Anything, anything
- 49:27Speaker 3: else that you kind of get your eye on.
- 49:29Speaker 5: You know, it's it's basketball season. It's gonna be basketball
- 49:32Speaker 5: tournament for us. I'm just talking to Fred in the
- 49:36Speaker 5: in the green room a little bit. You know, for
- 49:37Speaker 5: the first time in a couple of years, I believe
- 49:40Speaker 5: that we've got the Mountain East Conference not interfering with
- 49:44Speaker 5: the girls state basketball tournament that week. He actually told
- 49:47Speaker 5: me that, you know, with the schedule the way it
- 49:50Speaker 5: turned out this year, they're going to be in Wheeling
- 49:52Speaker 5: for the Mountain East Conference and then the girls state
- 49:55Speaker 5: basketball tournament the following week, and then the boys state tournament.
- 49:58Speaker 5: Of course the boys and girls are and Charleston. So
- 50:01Speaker 5: that's that's gonna eat up a lot of March. And
- 50:03Speaker 5: that's that's great basketball. You know, the Mountain East is
- 50:07Speaker 5: a very underrated or overlooked frankly in West Virginia. That's
- 50:12Speaker 5: great basketball. We've got a couple of great programs right
- 50:15Speaker 5: here in the valley with State and you see, so
- 50:18Speaker 5: I really encourage people in the last few couple of
- 50:21Speaker 5: weeks of the regular season, get out and watch some
- 50:23Speaker 5: great basketball. Typically State and you see play against each
- 50:27Speaker 5: other in that last week, so it'd be a good
- 50:29Speaker 5: time to get out and watch some great basketball.
- 50:31Speaker 3: But Dave Island showing five any lie brought to you
- 50:33Speaker 3: apart by Morgan to Morgan in America's largest injury law firm,
- 50:36Speaker 3: Tech says with his over past twenty years, hits like
- 50:39Speaker 3: I'm Gonna miss Her, Alcohol, Mud on the Tires and
- 50:41Speaker 3: the gen X theme song Letter to Me. I think
- 50:43Speaker 3: Brad Paisley would put on an amazing halftime performance. Of
- 50:46Speaker 3: course he would close it with a crowd sing of
- 50:48Speaker 3: country roads. You say what, I love it? I love
- 50:50Speaker 3: it all right?
- 50:51Speaker 5: Yeah do it?
- 50:52Speaker 3: Jim? When are we going to do another Walley Whipy's
- 50:54Speaker 3: not at Buffalo Wild Wings? You have one of those
- 50:55Speaker 3: coming up?
- 50:56Speaker 5: Yeah, Thursday, February twentieth. We always do it on the
- 50:59Speaker 5: third Thursday each month. We've got some tickets to give
- 51:01Speaker 5: away a lot of cool stuff. It's always fun and
- 51:04Speaker 5: I always try to post about that. You can check

- 51:21Speaker 3: All right, Texas, Dave, I thought Trump was BOYCOTTI to
- 51:23Speaker 3: the NFL. Well, I guess he. I guess he forgot
- 51:26Speaker 3: all right, Jim wrightman, I appreciate you being here. TJ.
- 51:29Speaker 3: What's on the big show today?
