Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Life Audio. You know, God gives men dreams to do things,
- 0:06Speaker 1: but every one of those things fell short because the
- 0:09Speaker 1: resources weren't there. Well, I remember we had just enough
- 0:12Speaker 1: money to go to church and gas, and I didn't
- 0:14Speaker 1: know what I was going to do the next day. Well,
- 0:15Speaker 1: we go there, and some lady just, I don't even
- 0:17Speaker 1: know who she was, came up and surreptitiously just dropped
- 0:20Speaker 1: $ 10 in my wife's pocket. And at that time, that
- 0:23Speaker 1: bought us enough gas to do what we needed to do.
- 0:26Speaker 1: And there is nothing more satisfying than just laying down
- 0:30Speaker 1: money to provide what you know is a need and
- 0:33Speaker 1: a good need for people who need it. And God says,
- 0:37Speaker 1: try me. You know, there's not any time where God says,
- 0:40Speaker 1: test me. But he says in this, test me and
- 0:42Speaker 1: you will see.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to the March or Die show. Glad
- 0:46Speaker 2: to have you joining us again today. And this is
- 0:49Speaker 2: the show where we do our very best every single
- 0:52Speaker 2: episode to give you both the principles and perspectives you
- 0:55Speaker 2: need to march when it would be easier to stay
- 0:57Speaker 2: where you are and die. And today is really episode
- 1:02Speaker 2: two of a conversation that we began last week with
- 1:05Speaker 2: David Holland. David, thank you for continuing this conversation with us.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Absolutely, Jeremy. It's a pleasure to be on. I always
- 1:12Speaker 1: enjoy talking to you and your fine audience.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Our fine audience. We do have a fine audience.
- 1:17Speaker 1: We do. You have the best.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Some of the smartest in the world.
- 1:19Speaker 1: That's right. I'll back that up.
- 1:23Speaker 2: We started talking last week about really a lot of things,
- 1:27Speaker 2: but financial stewardship and kind of the whys behind even
- 1:32Speaker 2: investing in precious metals and those kind of things. You
- 1:34Speaker 2: are the founder and president of Alpha Omega Gold.
- 1:38Speaker 3: And man, great conversation, helpful conversation.
- 1:42Speaker 2: We talked about having peace and what that looks like
- 1:45Speaker 2: and why that's important and why we should be good
- 1:47Speaker 2: stewards of the financial resources that God gives to us.
- 1:50Speaker 2: And I think a lot of us get this wrong
- 1:52Speaker 2: as Christians, just I would say maybe like philosophically, we
- 1:55Speaker 2: just have the wrong philosophy or general operating knowledge of
- 2:00Speaker 2: why we should be good stewards. And so we talked
- 2:02Speaker 2: about that last week. For those that didn't watch or
- 2:04Speaker 2: listen to that episode, go and check that out. But today,
- 2:07Speaker 2: continuing this conversation, and I'd really love to talk today
- 2:13Speaker 2: about just some basic principles of stewardship. So someone hears this,
- 2:20Speaker 2: maybe last week they were with us. Again, we talked
- 2:23Speaker 2: about this last week, but I say last week, the
- 2:25Speaker 2: last episode, which we recorded about 15 minutes ago, but
- 2:28Speaker 2: it came out last week, right?
- 2:31Speaker 3: Time flies. Time flies. All right.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 2: But as we talked about that, you look at the
- 2:36Speaker 2: world around us and all the things that are happening.
- 2:39Speaker 3: It's crazy. And it's funny.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I was talking to my dad about this last week.
- 2:44Speaker 2: In the past, I've been able to keep track of
- 2:46Speaker 2: what's happening. There's a war going on, and that's the
- 2:49Speaker 2: big thing. There's a financial issue going on, right? The economy,
- 2:52Speaker 2: that's the thing. There's politics.
- 2:54Speaker 3: There's this. There's that. It seems like everything is happening
- 2:56Speaker 3: all at once right now. And so overwhelming. Overwhelming. and confusing.
- 3:02Speaker 2: And again, as we discussed, my response sometimes to that
- 3:06Speaker 2: is to just say, fine, I'm just going to grab
- 3:07Speaker 2: what's mine. I'm going to pull it in close and
- 3:10Speaker 2: just hope it all works out somehow. That rarely ever
- 3:14Speaker 2: works out. But certainly when it comes to finances, it
- 3:18Speaker 2: doesn't work out. And I think people do maybe now
- 3:22Speaker 2: more than they have in.
- 3:24Speaker 3: The last 10 or 20 years.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Want to understand how to take care of their finances,
- 3:29Speaker 2: how to invest, how to steward over those things, even
- 3:32Speaker 2: if it's just taking care of what they have, but
- 3:36Speaker 2: need good principles. And there are books, there are very
- 3:41Speaker 2: popular speakers and radio hosts who talk about how you
- 3:45Speaker 2: should handle your money. We've talked about one of those,
- 3:47Speaker 2: which you can talk about. So a lot of different
- 3:51Speaker 2: perspectives and it gets very confusing. And so again, even
- 3:54Speaker 2: when I'm trying to do my best, it can be
- 3:56Speaker 2: overwhelming and I can just say, forget it, right? And
- 3:59Speaker 2: step back and not do anything. So I'd love to
- 4:04Speaker 2: get your thoughts, some basic financial stewardship principles for Christians,
- 4:08Speaker 2: things that we need to hang on to. And I
- 4:10Speaker 2: don't know if you have a big five, a big 10,
- 4:13Speaker 2: a big one, whatever it is, where do we need
- 4:16Speaker 2: to start and how do we walk this out?
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that is where the rubber does meet the road
- 4:23Speaker 1: for Christians. Like, At the end of the day, I
- 4:27Speaker 1: think last episode we mentioned the parable of the talents.
- 4:30Speaker 1: At the end of the day, if God's setting everything
- 4:32Speaker 1: in motion and he and Jesus uses the parable of
- 4:34Speaker 1: the talents for a good stewardship of like, what are
- 4:37Speaker 1: you doing with what I'm giving you, was the overarching principle,
- 4:41Speaker 1: even though that one specifically was about money. It comes
- 4:46Speaker 1: down to that. And I think where we've struck a nerve,
- 4:50Speaker 1: and in a good way, I think, with a lot
- 4:52Speaker 1: of Christians is, you know, a lot of Christians, you know,
- 4:56Speaker 1: whether they go to church or not, a lot of
- 4:57Speaker 1: them give, they want to be helpful. They want to
- 5:00Speaker 1: service with the funds and the money that they have.
- 5:02Speaker 1: They want to like, okay, how can I do this?
- 5:04Speaker 1: But when I bring up the ideas, like, well, if
- 5:08Speaker 1: you can't take care of yourself, let's just say, you know,
- 5:12Speaker 1: the U.S. dollar did a nosedive and, you know, China,
- 5:16Speaker 1: who is currently setting up a gold alternative and basically
- 5:20Speaker 1: what they call the gold road, which they're going to
- 5:25Speaker 1: soon encourage all countries to trade with them in their
- 5:29Speaker 1: own currency in the yuan, but they're going to have
- 5:30Speaker 1: it settled in gold because no one really trusts China.
- 5:34Speaker 1: But if China has a vault that says, hey, I
- 5:35Speaker 1: can take this pile of Chinese money and I can
- 5:37Speaker 1: turn it into gold, hey, that sounds better. And so
- 5:41Speaker 1: they're trying to make that play for what the U.S.
- 5:43Speaker 1: dollar currently holds as the world reserve. But if you
- 5:47Speaker 1: and I were to wake up one day into a
- 5:49Speaker 1: world where the dollar was no longer king, we do
- 5:53Speaker 1: not have a context for that. I was not raised
- 5:57Speaker 1: by my grandfather. I was raised by my parents, but
- 6:00Speaker 1: I happen to live very near to my grandfather, who
- 6:03Speaker 1: was a good bit older than me. I think he
- 6:06Speaker 1: had my father when he was older, and he was
- 6:09Speaker 1: a child of the Depression and fought in World War II. Well,
- 6:13Speaker 1: he lived his life in that depression mentality where he
- 6:17Speaker 1: saved everything, where everything was set. I mean, you talk
- 6:20Speaker 1: about it, it was useful.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It had a use.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I could probably use it later. We lived on a ranch,
- 6:24Speaker 1: you know, he was a ranch owner and he had
- 6:25Speaker 1: retired and always had to use for things. But, you know,
- 6:30Speaker 1: and so I, I've gotten some of that into me
- 6:33Speaker 1: and I saw in the, in the culture that we
- 6:36Speaker 1: lived in, that was a really bad way to live
- 6:39Speaker 1: because everything is flying by you really quick. Everyone's taking
- 6:42Speaker 1: out loans. Everyone's maximizing the potential of the, atmosphere in
- 6:46Speaker 1: which they live at the time of what they lived
- 6:47Speaker 1: and so you know my grandfather did okay but he
- 6:50Speaker 1: wasn't he never like invested for that kind of world
- 6:53Speaker 1: well that world flourished from you know the 70s 80s
- 6:57Speaker 1: up until i would say even now where we're seeing
- 7:00Speaker 1: stock market at all-time highs but based on, you know,
- 7:04Speaker 1: the simple biblical principles of, you know, don't be a borrower, right?
- 7:10Speaker 1: Be a lender. And, you know, if you were a borrower,
- 7:13Speaker 1: there is going to be a slave to the lender. Now,
- 7:15Speaker 1: I know there's a lot of talk to say, hey,
- 7:17Speaker 1: if your house, it's an increasing asset. I get all that.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Like there's obviously stuff. Most of us have credit cards.
- 7:23Speaker 1: In fact, I'm beginning to think if you don't have
- 7:25Speaker 1: a credit card, you're in trouble now because there's so
- 7:27Speaker 1: much fraud on a debit card system that you really
- 7:29Speaker 1: need a credit card to protect yourself. So I'm I'm
- 7:32Speaker 1: finding that out here lately personally. But the idea is
- 7:37Speaker 1: that the dollar reserve king system that has served the
- 7:42Speaker 1: entire world where we were able to live our lifestyle
- 7:44Speaker 1: and our standard of living and basically export inflation around
- 7:48Speaker 1: the world is drawing to a close. And that's why
- 7:51Speaker 1: you're seeing higher prices everywhere. That's why inflation is a concern.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And what people aren't ready for is what does that
- 7:59Speaker 1: world look like afterwards? And as Christians, if our main
- 8:03Speaker 1: goal is to be of service in the kingdom and
- 8:07Speaker 1: do kingdom ministry, kingdom work, how are we going to
- 8:10Speaker 1: do that? You know, if our money is no longer
- 8:13Speaker 1: good or we don't have the lifestyle or the systems
- 8:16Speaker 1: in place to protect ourselves for when that time comes.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You know, right now, if you see a homeless person,
- 8:22Speaker 1: which I mean, there's one, there's probably 20 every block
- 8:25Speaker 1: here in Los Angeles because I walk to work and
- 8:27Speaker 1: neighborhood's not too bad, but it, you know, it can
- 8:30Speaker 1: be iffy. And, you know, I could stop and offer
- 8:33Speaker 1: every one of them, you know, a peanut butter sandwich
- 8:36Speaker 1: and it would probably help their day. But if you're
- 8:38Speaker 1: in a place where you're just trying to help out
- 8:39Speaker 1: your neighbor and you've got a little extra change in
- 8:41Speaker 1: your pocket, you know, what if you woke up one
- 8:43Speaker 1: day and the things and the tools you use to serve,
- 8:46Speaker 1: whether you give offering at your local church or, you know,
- 8:50Speaker 1: sponsor a missionary overseas or something like that, help out
- 8:52Speaker 1: a food pantry. What if those things didn't work? And
- 8:55Speaker 1: what if your tools that you lived a life by
- 8:58Speaker 1: were no longer functional and we would have a really
- 9:01Speaker 1: hard time wrapping our brains. It would be a very
- 9:03Speaker 1: rude awakening. And so I feel like part of what
- 9:06Speaker 1: Christians need to prepare for is what does it look
- 9:08Speaker 1: like in America? We've adjusted to different social changes. I'll
- 9:15Speaker 1: just leave it there without getting too deep in the
- 9:17Speaker 1: rabbit hole. Social changes in America, and we've adjusted as
- 9:20Speaker 1: a church, which when I grew up, those were things
- 9:22Speaker 1: we never talked about, but suddenly they're the law of
- 9:24Speaker 1: the land. So we've adjusted well. how are we going
- 9:27Speaker 1: to adjust when our currency fails or the stock market
- 9:32Speaker 1: crashes a bunch because AI is kind of a pipe
- 9:35Speaker 1: dream and the Chinese can do AI much cheaper than
- 9:37Speaker 1: we can. And all those valuations aren't really real. And
- 9:40Speaker 1: your stock portfolio goes down the tubes and suddenly you're like,
- 9:44Speaker 1: I don't feel as rich as I used to. And
- 9:46Speaker 1: maybe my mortgage, I can't buy a house. Basically, how
- 9:50Speaker 1: do we prepare for the transition time that I believe
- 9:52Speaker 1: is coming on America as Christians? And I think using
- 9:56Speaker 1: the sound principles of sound money that are found inherently
- 10:00Speaker 1: in the Bible of saying, hey, this is a unit
- 10:02Speaker 1: of measurement. This is a gold shekel or this is
- 10:05Speaker 1: a gold ounce. And, you know, what's odd and not odd,
- 10:09Speaker 1: if you've done this as long as I have, is
- 10:11Speaker 1: you look at an ounce of gold, look at an
- 10:14Speaker 1: ounce of silver, roughly, and outside of a few outliers
- 10:18Speaker 1: like the Hunt brothers in the 80s where they tried
- 10:21Speaker 1: to corner the market and there was a physical play
- 10:23Speaker 1: and a paper play. And there's a lot of manipulation,
- 10:26Speaker 1: which we won't have to get into here. But generally
- 10:28Speaker 1: over time, and you take that timeline and you stretch
- 10:31Speaker 1: it out, an ounce of gold will buy the approximate
- 10:35Speaker 1: same thing year over year over year. So as things
- 10:39Speaker 1: cost more, they always use the fine Italian suit. So
- 10:42Speaker 1: back in the 30s, an ounce of gold would buy
- 10:45Speaker 1: you a fine handmade Italian suit, 35 bucks. Now we're
- 10:49Speaker 1: coming to about $ 4, 500. If you're a fine handmade Italian suit,
- 10:53Speaker 1: an ounce of gold will buy that for you. So
- 10:55Speaker 1: that level of purchasing power stays intact. Now, gold and
- 11:00Speaker 1: silver typically will buy a lot more When you're in
- 11:04Speaker 1: those transitionary times, when people are offloading assets, think of
- 11:08Speaker 1: like post-World War I Germany, the Weimar Republic, seeing all
- 11:11Speaker 1: those pictures of people with wheelbarrow loads of dollars. Like,
- 11:14Speaker 1: this is a buy a loaf of bread. And in
- 11:17Speaker 1: those times, people are offloading assets and gold and silver
- 11:22Speaker 1: by much, much more than they normally would. So those
- 11:25Speaker 1: are opportunities that people can capitalize on. But because of
- 11:28Speaker 1: a debt-based system that we have, and we don't have
- 11:31Speaker 1: to go down the hole of the Federal Reserve and
- 11:33Speaker 1: all of that, but we have created a debt system
- 11:36Speaker 1: that it only has to expand to stay in existence.
- 11:39Speaker 1: God never created that. That, to me, is a thief.
- 11:45Speaker 1: They say inflation is a silent theft. If you were
- 11:48Speaker 1: to take 100 years ago, or let's just make it easy.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Let's say 40 years ago, you would take $ 100, 000 in
- 11:51Speaker 1: $ 100 bills and put it in a safe. And at
- 11:58Speaker 1: the same time, put $ 100, 000 of gold into that same safe.
- 12:02Speaker 1: You know, 40 years later, we've opened both of them up.
- 12:04Speaker 1: One of them is going to buy a lot more
- 12:06Speaker 1: than the other one because the value of the dollars
- 12:09Speaker 1: have lost their purchasing power over time where gold has increased.
- 12:13Speaker 1: But really what you're seeing is that gold is staying
- 12:15Speaker 1: the same and the dollar is just losing its purchasing power.
- 12:18Speaker 1: So that is a unit of measurement that I believe
- 12:21Speaker 1: absolutely God created. And it's universally recognized, universally understood. So
- 12:27Speaker 1: Good principles, to me, start with sound foundation of how
- 12:31Speaker 1: do I prepare for what's coming? If we stay here,
- 12:35Speaker 1: we're going to die, so we have to march. We
- 12:38Speaker 1: have to march toward the future with a plan of economically,
- 12:42Speaker 1: how am I going to be useful to my neighbors?
- 12:45Speaker 1: How am I going to bless my church? How am
- 12:48Speaker 1: I going to help out? And how am I not
- 12:50Speaker 1: going to be the inverse, which is basically a drag? Yeah,
- 12:54Speaker 1: we're not a heavy-duty prepper family. Again, we live in
- 12:57Speaker 1: a big city, but we have extra water filtration stuff.
- 13:01Speaker 1: We have extra food, even though it probably wouldn't last
- 13:03Speaker 1: that long with, you know, six children in the house.
- 13:06Speaker 1: But we have a little bit of that because you
- 13:09Speaker 1: never know if there's going to be an earthquake, is
- 13:10Speaker 1: there going to be a power outage and things like that.
- 13:12Speaker 1: So there are preparations that you should make. But there's
- 13:17Speaker 1: also a thing you have to prepare for, which sometimes
- 13:20Speaker 1: is not like, do I wake up when the power
- 13:22Speaker 1: goes out? Do I have enough food? Well, that's an
- 13:24Speaker 1: immediate need. But what happens if you know, the crumble
- 13:26Speaker 1: starts in, I don't know, 2026. And, you know, it's
- 13:30Speaker 1: crumbling all the way to 2028 and it's a slow crumble.
- 13:33Speaker 1: And suddenly you wake up one day and you realize, man, I've,
- 13:35Speaker 1: you know, I've missed my opportunity. Getting prepared now for
- 13:38Speaker 1: what you see in the future, I think is something
- 13:41Speaker 1: that Christians really need to get into their Bible and
- 13:45Speaker 1: kind of parse through and see what does God approve of?
- 13:48Speaker 1: What does he say is a good way to do this?
- 13:50Speaker 1: And then what is ways that we do currently that's
- 13:53Speaker 1: probably you know, not long for this world because it's
- 13:56Speaker 1: a more break.
- 13:58Speaker 3: There are a lot of people.
- 13:59Speaker 2: I honestly, I think probably most people who are trying
- 14:03Speaker 2: to get through one pay period after another. And so
- 14:08Speaker 2: when you say we need to prepare for what is coming,
- 14:12Speaker 2: we can see it.
- 14:13Speaker 3: We understand it. We need to start getting ready.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Now we need to buy the right financial instruments or,
- 14:19Speaker 2: you know, buy precious metals or whatever it is. This
- 14:21Speaker 2: is the best way to get ready for what's coming.
- 14:25Speaker 2: A lot of people may agree to that intellectually, and
- 14:29Speaker 2: I get it. Yeah, I should do that. But I'm
- 14:33Speaker 2: trying to get through this part of the month so
- 14:35Speaker 2: that I can get my next paycheck and then get
- 14:37Speaker 2: through that part of the month. What do you say
- 14:40Speaker 2: to someone that is kind of in that in-between where
- 14:43Speaker 2: I know I get it, I want to do that,
- 14:47Speaker 2: but I can't? I think that would apply even to
- 14:49Speaker 2: people who.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Are charitable people. They have a heart of charity. They
- 14:53Speaker 3: want to help others.
- 14:54Speaker 2: But I can't because I'm just not in a position
- 14:57Speaker 2: to do that. I'm struggling to get through on my own.
- 14:59Speaker 2: I'm trying to make it.
- 15:03Speaker 3: How do you, how do you have that conversation with someone?
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yeah, we, we do. I mean, we have people saying
- 15:08Speaker 1: I'm on social security and disability and I only have
- 15:11Speaker 1: a small monthly income. How do I get prepared? So
- 15:14Speaker 1: that is a conversation we have. I generally will, will,
- 15:17Speaker 1: this is where, you know, our, our kind of our
- 15:19Speaker 1: first leading conversation of, you know, I'll just pray about
- 15:23Speaker 1: it and God's going to take care of me. That
- 15:25Speaker 1: is where that does come into play because there are times,
- 15:28Speaker 1: I mean, I'm going to tell you, there have been
- 15:31Speaker 1: many times in my life up until, you know, where
- 15:34Speaker 1: I was just down and out. And I'm like, it
- 15:36Speaker 1: was by the grace of God that I kept going.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I was working hard. I was trying to provide, but
- 15:41Speaker 1: there wasn't anything there. So those situations, I believe when
- 15:45Speaker 1: you kind of just keep building on the principles, God
- 15:47Speaker 1: will open those doors and But there's going to be
- 15:49Speaker 1: times everyone's going to be there. And I think, well,
- 15:51Speaker 1: you know, most of us are going to be there
- 15:53Speaker 1: if we're walking that way because God needs to work
- 15:56Speaker 1: with us. But I would say, you know, take a
- 15:59Speaker 1: good look at where you're at. You know, if you're younger,
- 16:02Speaker 1: I talk to young people all the time who, you know,
- 16:06Speaker 1: are in a position of like, well, you know, I've
- 16:08Speaker 1: been to a couple of employers and I'm still in
- 16:11Speaker 1: my 30s. I can't, you know, do whatever. And I say, well,
- 16:13Speaker 1: do you have an IRA or 401k from a previous employer? Like, oh, yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 1: I got like 20 grand. hey, that's a perfect place
- 16:19Speaker 1: to start. You can take that and put that in
- 16:20Speaker 1: gold and silver. And you may still be building on
- 16:24Speaker 1: your foundations, but that is a good way to start.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Some people just have a small monthly stream that's like,
- 16:31Speaker 1: I have an extra three or $ 400 a month. And
- 16:34Speaker 1: I'm like, well, it makes sense if you can maybe
- 16:37Speaker 1: every two or three months, collect as much money as
- 16:40Speaker 1: you can. Give me a call. We'll find something that's
- 16:42Speaker 1: a pretty good deal at the time and I'll get
- 16:44Speaker 1: it to you. And then that's something you can do.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I have a guy who's, in his fifties and he
- 16:50Speaker 1: has all of his assets paid for, but he has
- 16:52Speaker 1: zero retirement. So he's a, I think a firefighter of
- 16:56Speaker 1: wildlands firefighter or something. And he, um, he's great guy,
- 17:01Speaker 1: but he, he just, he paid all this debt off
- 17:04Speaker 1: and his wife and wife was a stay at home
- 17:06Speaker 1: mom with the kids. And I think they did homeschooling,
- 17:09Speaker 1: which is, you know, what we do. And I'm like, Hey,
- 17:11Speaker 1: this all makes sense. He's like, I don't have retirement.
- 17:13Speaker 1: I was like, well, cash flow it. So get a
- 17:15Speaker 1: little bit of money together, send it. We'll get you
- 17:17Speaker 1: some gold and silver and you can start stacking it. Personally,
- 17:20Speaker 1: for my family, I have had a varied career to
- 17:25Speaker 1: where I had had to use the retirement when I
- 17:27Speaker 1: was younger to do start a business back in Texas.
- 17:30Speaker 1: That didn't go so well when God was trying to
- 17:32Speaker 1: get my attention. That was part of it. But nowadays,
- 17:35Speaker 1: what I use is I just when things are better,
- 17:37Speaker 1: I buy some gold and silver and I set it aside.
- 17:39Speaker 1: And if I need it, my family has some needs
- 17:41Speaker 1: that are unexpected. I take that and I can convert that.
- 17:45Speaker 1: So gold and silver for me, our family acts as
- 17:48Speaker 1: a savings account, a buffer, if you will. And I
- 17:51Speaker 1: can keep it at home. I don't have to worry
- 17:52Speaker 1: about if the bank's going to be shut down or not.
- 17:56Speaker 1: But there are many ways to do it. And I
- 17:59Speaker 1: would say just take a look at what you have often.
- 18:03Speaker 1: there's only small times in our life when we're in
- 18:06Speaker 1: a position to where we can't do anything, to where
- 18:08Speaker 1: we're just like, I'm leaving it in God's hands. And
- 18:11Speaker 1: that's okay. I am there. And I always tell people, look,
- 18:14Speaker 1: if you need someone to talk to, call me. Or
- 18:17Speaker 1: when things turn around, call me again and we'll see
- 18:19Speaker 1: what we can do. So if you're in the position
- 18:21Speaker 1: to where you can't do anything, have the extra time
- 18:24Speaker 1: and pray. God will take care of you. He's not
- 18:28Speaker 1: requiring you to bring really anything to the table. But
- 18:31Speaker 1: if he's giving you something, That's when you have to realize, okay,
- 18:35Speaker 1: how do I make use of what he's giving me?
- 18:37Speaker 1: So there's a lot of that, but there's plenty of
- 18:41Speaker 1: people and almost everyone has a little bit different variation
- 18:45Speaker 1: on that. Some of them are widowers. Some of them
- 18:48Speaker 1: are just the randomest type of thing you could imagine.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I come across it. So I think there's an answer
- 18:55Speaker 1: for everybody if we can kind of like go through
- 18:57Speaker 1: maybe some of their history. So that's what we're here
- 19:00Speaker 1: for is just to talk to people and see- How
- 19:02Speaker 1: can they take advantage of what they can look at?
- 19:05Speaker 1: And it takes a lot of the fear away. They
- 19:06Speaker 1: can either just be at peace like, hey, I don't
- 19:09Speaker 1: have a lot of options now, but I'm not going
- 19:11Speaker 1: to worry about it because I feel okay where I'm at.
- 19:14Speaker 1: And so that's what we want to leave people. I
- 19:16Speaker 1: don't want them to leave with a sense of not peace.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I want them to have a sense of, hey, I've
- 19:21Speaker 1: done what I can do. I'm in a place where
- 19:23Speaker 1: I can be taken care of. That's good.
- 19:25Speaker 2: And I think one of the keys there, just like
- 19:28Speaker 2: so many other areas of life, is getting help. You
- 19:31Speaker 2: don't have to have all the answers. It is very complex.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It is very confusing. And this has been a lesson
- 19:38Speaker 2: for me, and I'm still learning it, is it's okay.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Call it humility. Call it whatever you want.
- 19:45Speaker 2: But you need to put more value in the potential end.
- 19:50Speaker 2: the upside then you do the embarrassment that you'll feel
- 19:53Speaker 2: for 15 seconds when you ask for help of people
- 19:56Speaker 2: who are there to help you i mean that's that's
- 19:59Speaker 2: the point too and so don't feel like you have
- 20:02Speaker 2: to figure this out on your own and and again
- 20:05Speaker 2: you know and i and i obviously endorse alpha omega
- 20:09Speaker 2: one of the reasons it's funny so when we when
- 20:12Speaker 2: we met we started talking about having these conversations and
- 20:17Speaker 2: we talked about what we talk about and talked about
- 20:19Speaker 2: your company and talked about what i do and how
- 20:22Speaker 2: we do it and why and all those things because
- 20:24Speaker 2: it's very important to me that if someone needs help
- 20:28Speaker 2: they can talk to someone like you who's going to say, well,
- 20:31Speaker 2: this is what the Bible says. This is the perspective.
- 20:33Speaker 2: This is why we're doing this. Maybe that's not for you.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Maybe we shouldn't do that. And helping the client or
- 20:41Speaker 2: the customer is more important than kind of your bottom line.
- 20:45Speaker 2: And so that is important. So find the right people,
- 20:48Speaker 2: but also find someone to help you.
- 20:50Speaker 3: And that's okay.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Yeah. No, it totally is. And I have those conversations
- 20:56Speaker 1: all the time. People are halfway through and they're like,
- 20:58Speaker 1: You know, I got to pray about this. I need
- 21:00Speaker 1: a sense of peace. And so I'll generally ask, OK,
- 21:03Speaker 1: so you've prayed about it. And then I'll say, what
- 21:06Speaker 1: are your concerns? Because lots of times you with a
- 21:09Speaker 1: lot of people, they have unanswered questions and maybe they're too.
- 21:14Speaker 1: They're too– they think, you know, what is the old–
- 21:17Speaker 1: the only stupid question is one not asked, right? And
- 21:21Speaker 1: so they feel that way. It's like, hey, how do
- 21:23Speaker 1: I do it? So I'll start asking questions like, what's
- 21:25Speaker 1: really your concern? You're afraid you're going to send me
- 21:27Speaker 1: your money and I'm going to run off with it.
- 21:28Speaker 1: That's an okay concern. Let's talk about that. Where does
- 21:31Speaker 1: the gold and silver store it if it's in an IRA?
- 21:33Speaker 1: Or how do you ship it to me? Or, you know,
- 21:35Speaker 1: how does all this work? If I get it at
- 21:37Speaker 1: home and the world melts down, how do I use it?
- 21:40Speaker 1: I can't go to the store.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Right.
- 21:42Speaker 1: We talk about all that, like real questions. And so
- 21:46Speaker 1: we answer those because those are real questions where people
- 21:48Speaker 1: really are. And that's important at the end of the day.
- 21:52Speaker 1: You need that clarity. And at the end of the day,
- 21:54Speaker 1: clarity is, as someone said, clarity is currency. Like it
- 21:58Speaker 1: gives you the ability to make decisions. And I believe
- 22:02Speaker 1: that's what God intended. That's why we have the Bible.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I mean, the old basic instructions before leaving earth, you know,
- 22:09Speaker 1: the Bible acronym. it's what it's for. Like if we
- 22:12Speaker 1: were just showed up here, if I just was born
- 22:14Speaker 1: one day and if I didn't have the Bible, I
- 22:16Speaker 1: don't think I really truly don't think I would be here.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I think I would have faced too many hard things
- 22:21Speaker 1: in life with no answers, with no clarity. And I
- 22:24Speaker 1: couldn't take it, but the Bible is there to give
- 22:27Speaker 1: us clarity. And then people who, use the Bible to
- 22:31Speaker 1: understand things and in their relevant field, whether it's, you know,
- 22:34Speaker 1: talking about, you know, financial things or talking about, you know,
- 22:38Speaker 1: the hereafter, talking about death and life and children and marriage.
- 22:42Speaker 1: And I mean, you name the subject, Bible's got something
- 22:45Speaker 1: to say about it. It's not silent on anything. I mean,
- 22:48Speaker 1: I don't care if it's AI. I don't care if
- 22:50Speaker 1: it's technology. The Bible is always talking because it's an
- 22:55Speaker 1: eternal thing that God gave for us. So, there's plenty
- 23:00Speaker 1: of information for people, but don't be afraid. I mean,
- 23:03Speaker 1: even like on Sunday, I saw a friend I hadn't
- 23:06Speaker 1: seen since I left Northern California. That was six years
- 23:10Speaker 1: ago in 2020. Really hadn't talked to him, really had anything,
- 23:13Speaker 1: but he came and he preached at our church and
- 23:17Speaker 1: he had a word for me. I mean, that's all
- 23:20Speaker 1: I can tell you is that God knew what words
- 23:22Speaker 1: I needed to hear and he was there and God
- 23:23Speaker 1: had told him what to say and he prayed with
- 23:26Speaker 1: me and like I got what I needed because I,
- 23:30Speaker 1: I needed someone and I need people and God sends
- 23:33Speaker 1: people to me that I need. So he sends me
- 23:35Speaker 1: to people that need what I have. And he sends
- 23:37Speaker 1: people to me that need what, what I need and
- 23:39Speaker 1: they have it and, and everyone. And that's, that's that
- 23:42Speaker 1: whole point of the body of, of Christ is that
- 23:45Speaker 1: everyone's like, I've got a different strength and a different
- 23:48Speaker 1: gifting and they all come together to, to, to take
- 23:51Speaker 1: care of one another. And that's, that's the beauty of it.
- 23:53Speaker 1: And that's what we want to service is whatever part,
- 23:56Speaker 1: you know, we are, We want to help with that
- 23:58Speaker 1: and help it faithfully. That's awesome.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I think one of the other important reasons, we've touched
- 24:05Speaker 2: on this, but one of the other important reasons to
- 24:07Speaker 2: really get your hands around financial stewardship is generosity. We've
- 24:13Speaker 2: been called by God to be generous. And I think
- 24:16Speaker 2: sometimes we see that as kind of a leftover, if
- 24:19Speaker 2: we can get there kind of thing. But it's as
- 24:22Speaker 2: much a directive from God in scripture as any of
- 24:26Speaker 2: the other things we point to is like God said, well,
- 24:28Speaker 2: he also said, be generous. He also said, take care
- 24:31Speaker 2: of one another, not just your household, but the household
- 24:34Speaker 2: of faith. And so there's this understanding in both Old
- 24:38Speaker 2: Testament and New Testament that we'll be generous with the
- 24:42Speaker 2: resources that God gives to us. And so this conversation
- 24:45Speaker 2: is not just about how can I get more stuff
- 24:48Speaker 2: and hang on to it so I feel better. It
- 24:51Speaker 2: really is how can I position myself to be used
- 24:53Speaker 2: in whatever way God wants me to be used. I
- 24:57Speaker 2: don't know if I talk about this a lot, but
- 24:59Speaker 2: I remember when I was first kind of called into
- 25:02Speaker 2: ministry and I pastored for a while and going through
- 25:06Speaker 2: all of that, this topic became very important to me
- 25:09Speaker 2: because I realized having not spent a lot of time
- 25:13Speaker 2: preparing financially for whatever was going to happen in the future.
- 25:16Speaker 3: I didn't know what that was.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Having not prepared for it, When I did feel like
- 25:21Speaker 2: God was leading me into some things, I was not
- 25:23Speaker 2: in a position where I could follow.
- 25:26Speaker 3: So it wasn't that.
- 25:26Speaker 2: God hadn't called or hadn't led or hadn't shown me
- 25:29Speaker 2: what the next step was. It was that I was
- 25:32Speaker 2: not in a position, specifically financially, to be able to
- 25:37Speaker 2: walk that out. And so it took me time to
- 25:39Speaker 2: figure that out and to walk through that. But man,
- 25:42Speaker 2: I think a lot of our conversation is about that too.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Don't limit what God can do with you.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Yep.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Because you're not taking the steps to prepare right now.
- 25:50Speaker 2: So I think about this. A person could say, I
- 25:54Speaker 2: think the US dollar is going to be fine. I
- 25:56Speaker 2: think things are going to be fine. The economy is
- 25:58Speaker 2: going to bounce back. Look at what happened over here. Okay, well,
- 26:01Speaker 2: you can also hold that position, but prepare because God
- 26:06Speaker 2: has something for you in the future. So let's say
- 26:08Speaker 2: the economy takes off and David's wrong and Well, you
- 26:12Speaker 2: still need to be financially in a position where you
- 26:15Speaker 2: can be generous and helpful because there are a lot
- 26:18Speaker 2: of people that need Jesus, first of all, but also
- 26:21Speaker 2: need the resources necessary to get that message out. And
- 26:25Speaker 2: so generosity is a part of this conversation I don't
- 26:28Speaker 2: think we often consider because it's kind of like, well,
- 26:32Speaker 2: if there's something left over, sure, I'll be generous. But no,
- 26:35Speaker 2: this really fundamentally is about being in a position where
- 26:39Speaker 2: you can be.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yes, that's so true. I mean, I can say being
- 26:46Speaker 1: where I believe God didn't intend for me to be
- 26:49Speaker 1: in the length of time, you know, early on in
- 26:52Speaker 1: my life and after I married my wife for a
- 26:54Speaker 1: while and we started having kids, like I always, there's
- 26:57Speaker 1: always stuff I wanted to do. There's people I wanted,
- 26:59Speaker 1: there's things, there's like, you know, God gives men dreams
- 27:03Speaker 1: to like to do things. But every one of those
- 27:05Speaker 1: things fell short because the resources weren't there. Well, you know,
- 27:08Speaker 1: once you get into the will of God and I
- 27:10Speaker 1: had to go through a lot of bumps and bruises
- 27:13Speaker 1: on the journey getting there. But I remember many times
- 27:16Speaker 1: when we were pretty dirt poor, like I remember one
- 27:19Speaker 1: time and specifically we didn't have any money. This was
- 27:23Speaker 1: early on like 2018 and didn't know what I was
- 27:27Speaker 1: going to do. Maybe early 2019. I think my wife
- 27:29Speaker 1: was expecting our first child in California here. And, I
- 27:33Speaker 1: just was having a hard time adjusting to a new
- 27:36Speaker 1: job and couldn't make any extra money. And I remember
- 27:38Speaker 1: we had just enough money to go to church and gas,
- 27:41Speaker 1: and I didn't know what I was going to do
- 27:42Speaker 1: the next day. Well, we go there, and some lady just,
- 27:45Speaker 1: I don't even know who she was, came up and
- 27:47Speaker 1: surreptitiously just dropped $ 10 in my wife's thing. And at
- 27:51Speaker 1: that time, that bought us enough gas to do what
- 27:53Speaker 1: we needed to do. And I remember later on, someone
- 27:55Speaker 1: else gave us $ 500. And then someone else who I
- 27:59Speaker 1: never knew who they were gave us um i want
- 28:02Speaker 1: to say it was over a thousand dollars they gave
- 28:04Speaker 1: us a nice card and they basically you know gave
- 28:06Speaker 1: me a good word to like you know keep you
- 28:08Speaker 1: know working hard for your family i know you're trying
- 28:10Speaker 1: so things like that were generous to me well fast
- 28:14Speaker 1: forward several years you know god has has helped me
- 28:17Speaker 1: got me stabilized and i know a couple times it
- 28:20Speaker 1: was a one fellow who was you know he never
- 28:23Speaker 1: had a lot of money in our church but he
- 28:24Speaker 1: would rely on a bicycle um to get back and forth.
- 28:28Speaker 1: And he, I think finally got an electric bike and
- 28:30Speaker 1: then someone stole his bicycle. And so one of the
- 28:34Speaker 1: men in the church is like, Hey, well, we're going
- 28:36Speaker 1: to try to get together and take up a small
- 28:37Speaker 1: offering for, I think it was brother Bob. And I
- 28:40Speaker 1: was like, I'll pay for, I've got enough. I am
- 28:44Speaker 1: in a position. We're going to do this. So not
- 28:47Speaker 1: only are you going to just get enough to replace it,
- 28:49Speaker 1: let's get him a better one, right? Let's get him
- 28:50Speaker 1: some extra equipment. And I was in a position to
- 28:53Speaker 1: do that. I've been in a position to help, you know,
- 28:55Speaker 1: youth ministries to help kids who maybe they didn't have
- 28:58Speaker 1: enough money to go on, you know, youth outing or
- 29:01Speaker 1: things like that. Being in a position to be able
- 29:04Speaker 1: to do that is the one thing. I don't think
- 29:08Speaker 1: that the world... could ever possibly understand as far as satisfaction.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Like there is nothing more satisfying than just laying down
- 29:16Speaker 1: money to provide what you know is a need and
- 29:19Speaker 1: a good need for people who need it. And, you know,
- 29:24Speaker 1: going back to the homeless population here, it's really hard
- 29:26Speaker 1: because I can't just hand out money because I know
- 29:28Speaker 1: that's probably not going to go to their basic needs.
- 29:30Speaker 1: It's going to go to drugs or other bad stuff.
- 29:32Speaker 1: So here you got to kind of do food, but
- 29:34Speaker 1: it's different. But when it comes to needs within the
- 29:36Speaker 1: body of Christ, and James addressed it when he said,
- 29:39Speaker 1: You know, if you go up and you say, hey,
- 29:41Speaker 1: be warm and be filled, but you don't do anything.
- 29:45Speaker 1: The most frustrating thing I think I can in my
- 29:47Speaker 1: life is seeing a need and just being impotent and
- 29:50Speaker 1: not being able to do anything about it. So being generous, right?
- 29:53Speaker 1: Proverbs says that the generous soul shall be made fat.
- 29:57Speaker 1: And I live by that principle. I know One of
- 30:00Speaker 1: the men who helped me early on in my sales career,
- 30:04Speaker 1: he was the most generous person I'd ever met. And
- 30:06Speaker 1: it's like the guy just would give people money, but
- 30:09Speaker 1: he never lacked. It would just always come back to him.
- 30:13Speaker 1: And the old principle of you can't out give God
- 30:16Speaker 1: and those who lend unto the poor lend unto God.
- 30:19Speaker 1: It's like God takes careful notes. So being generous is
- 30:24Speaker 1: an untapped power source that you have. And in fact,
- 30:27Speaker 1: if you go into the scriptures, the scriptures plainly say,
- 30:30Speaker 1: God says, try me. You know, there's not any time
- 30:33Speaker 1: where God says, test me. But he says, test me
- 30:35Speaker 1: and you will see. And I'm telling you, the principle
- 30:38Speaker 1: of you cannot give God is true. But you need
- 30:41Speaker 1: to be in a position to prepare for that. So,
- 30:43Speaker 1: you know, basic, I think basic Dave Ramsey. Dave Ramsey
- 30:47Speaker 1: and I disagree on gold and silver. I think it's
- 30:50Speaker 1: foundationally stable. that a country has to operate on, let
- 30:55Speaker 1: alone you and me, for things to continue well. But
- 30:57Speaker 1: the principles of getting out of debt, of having extra
- 31:00Speaker 1: so that you can be a blessing, you know, the
- 31:02Speaker 1: whole blessed to be a blessing is a very important
- 31:04Speaker 1: principle for Christians. Because at the end of the day,
- 31:07Speaker 1: when we're talking about gold and silver, it serves a
- 31:09Speaker 1: definite purpose here on earth. but you know, up in heaven, it's,
- 31:14Speaker 1: it's the building material for, for the streets and for
- 31:17Speaker 1: the walls and for the city. And it's like the, the,
- 31:19Speaker 1: the purpose is shift, but they're both created by God.
- 31:22Speaker 1: So use them for their purposes. But, but you have
- 31:25Speaker 1: a purpose down here with your finances and that's beyond,
- 31:28Speaker 1: you know, God's going to provide for me and my family,
- 31:30Speaker 1: but I got other people who I know are lacking
- 31:32Speaker 1: and just want God to lead me to them so
- 31:34Speaker 1: I can be a blessing to them as well. Yeah.
- 31:37Speaker 3: That's so good. Yeah. That's so good.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Um, I've really enjoyed our conversations. Thank you for just
- 31:44Speaker 2: your insight and what you guys are doing. Tell the
- 31:47Speaker 2: audience again where they can find the company and get
- 31:52Speaker 2: in touch with you and get more information.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Or whatever they need to do.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Just go to AO.gold, but we have a special ending
- 32:00Speaker 1: page set up here for March or Die audience and
- 32:05Speaker 1: Jeremy's audience. Just go to AO.gold. forward slash MOD. And
- 32:09Speaker 1: then just tell us you heard us on there. We'll
- 32:11Speaker 1: send you some, we have different like PDFs we can
- 32:13Speaker 1: send over to you. Helps you understand gold and silver,
- 32:16Speaker 1: like different products, kind of some different, you know, things,
- 32:20Speaker 1: historical stuff. But most importantly, we have a thing called
- 32:23Speaker 1: should Christians buy gold? I think most of your audience
- 32:26Speaker 1: would find that interesting. Like I thought about it, but
- 32:28Speaker 1: I've always heard this. So we answer some like basic questions.
- 32:31Speaker 1: I won't gold and silver be, you know, worthless here
- 32:34Speaker 1: on earth and things like that, that are, sort of,
- 32:37Speaker 1: I would say sort of are mostly out of context
- 32:39Speaker 1: thinking why people will always say, because you get a
- 32:41Speaker 1: lot of those when I'm doing shows, I get a
- 32:43Speaker 1: lot of in the comments, well, it's going to be worthless.
- 32:46Speaker 1: And so it's something that we address all the time.
- 32:48Speaker 1: And there's a specific reason the Bible says that and
- 32:50Speaker 1: why it says that. And it's not in the way
- 32:53Speaker 1: that most people use it or pretty much never in
- 32:55Speaker 1: the way that people use it. But we have PDFs
- 32:58Speaker 1: that people can help. And then things about like the
- 33:00Speaker 1: control grid. So we're looking at a digital currency unrolling.
- 33:03Speaker 1: that is going to have far-vast reaching consequences that are
- 33:08Speaker 1: foretold in the Bible. So we kind of go through
- 33:10Speaker 1: the step-by-step of how that's going to affect people. And
- 33:13Speaker 1: it's interesting. It's free. You don't have to pay for
- 33:15Speaker 1: any of it. It's just PDFs we'll send you in
- 33:17Speaker 1: the email. So, yes, go to ao.gold forward slash MOD
- 33:21Speaker 1: and just say, hey, send me some of those PDFs.
- 33:23Speaker 1: You can call me. Our phone number is 855-426-8255. 4
- 33:27Speaker 1: 6 5 3 8 5 5 4. The number for
- 33:33Speaker 1: AO gold. My email address, you can even email me
- 33:36Speaker 1: as just David at AO dot gold. Ask questions. We're
- 33:40Speaker 1: a service. I don't, this is not just a, a
- 33:44Speaker 1: can to like get on that. This is my favorite part.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I like talking to people because I feel like I
- 33:48Speaker 1: get more satisfaction. Like I like selling gold and silver. It's,
- 33:52Speaker 1: it's how we keep the pay the light, you know,
- 33:53Speaker 1: pay the, pay the light bill and keep kids fed.
- 33:57Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, I like helping people.
- 33:59Speaker 1: And again, there's no satisfaction greater than saying, Hey, that
- 34:03Speaker 1: person is, is in a good spot and, and, and
- 34:06Speaker 1: laying out the information, especially when they come from it
- 34:09Speaker 1: where they don't understand it. They have a lot of questions.
- 34:11Speaker 1: I can tell you that the hours and upon hours
- 34:13Speaker 1: upon hours I've spent talking to people and, you know,
- 34:17Speaker 1: not all of them bought with me, but I can
- 34:19Speaker 1: tell you, I always enjoyed explaining it and getting that
- 34:22Speaker 1: light bulb to turn on. And that's something we take
- 34:24Speaker 1: really seriously and no pressure. Just want to answer those
- 34:27Speaker 1: questions and know that if this will work for you,
- 34:29Speaker 1: it'll work for you. If it won't, we're happy to
- 34:32Speaker 1: tell you that as well. Awesome.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Well, David, thank you so much. Really appreciate it.
- 34:37Speaker 1: You're welcome, Jeremy. It's been a pleasure, sir.
