- 0:48Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:54Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's Word with notes, quotes,
- 1:00Speaker 1: and stories along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:03Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:06Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that he has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations
- 1:12Speaker 1: chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:27Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:39Speaker 2: In Matthew's Gospel, chapter twenty four, verses nine through fourteen,
- 1:45Speaker 2: we read, then they will hand you over for persecution,
- 1:49Speaker 2: and they will kill you. You will be hated by
- 1:52Speaker 2: all nations because of my name. Then many will take offense,
- 1:56Speaker 2: portray one another, and hate one another.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Man fall.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Else, prophets will rise up and deceive many. Because lawlessness
- 2:05Speaker 2: will multiply, the love of many will grow cold. But
- 2:09Speaker 2: the one who endures to the end will be delivered.
- 2:13Speaker 2: This good news of the Kingdom will be proclaimed in
- 2:16Speaker 2: all the world as a testimony to all nations, and
- 2:20Speaker 2: then the end will come. You know, as followers of Christ,
- 2:26Speaker 2: we are told that we are in the world, but
- 2:30Speaker 2: not of the world. This is a familiar phrase that
- 2:35Speaker 2: basically tells us, if you lay down with dogs, you
- 2:39Speaker 2: will get up with fleets. This is not to say
- 2:43Speaker 2: that the world represents the similarity of dogs, but more
- 2:47Speaker 2: that we will begin to produce the same habits. Prejudices
- 2:51Speaker 2: form as the same for the unsaved. So how can
- 2:56Speaker 2: we be witnesses of Christ and still live in this world.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Let's look more into the world's system or systems. The
- 3:06Speaker 2: monetary system, which controls every country's currency, determines the economic
- 3:11Speaker 2: condition in which we all live. The political system in
- 3:15Speaker 2: democracies and dictatorships, determines in which manner we are governed.
- 3:21Speaker 2: The educational system is either a proponent of good or
- 3:25Speaker 2: used to mold and manipulate for ill purposes. We should
- 3:30Speaker 2: let history teach us the ways of the world, so
- 3:33Speaker 2: that we might not repeat the same pattern. We reflect
- 3:38Speaker 2: on history to tell us. In Germany, following their defeat
- 3:42Speaker 2: in World War One, their economic system was in shambles.
- 3:46Speaker 2: The German mark had very little value, and the political
- 3:49Speaker 2: system was geared for a new savior. People were desperate
- 3:55Speaker 2: for leadership. A very charismatic man stepped onto the scene.
- 4:00Speaker 2: He made promises of a new and victorious Germany. He
- 4:04Speaker 2: convinced the majority of the people that they were of
- 4:07Speaker 2: a superior race and that others were inferior. He manipulated
- 4:12Speaker 2: the educational system to teach only his dogma and rewarded
- 4:17Speaker 2: those who would inform on family, friends, and neighbors that
- 4:21Speaker 2: would not follow him. His name was Adolf Hitler. He
- 4:25Speaker 2: was called de Fua, the leader or guide, and everyone
- 4:30Speaker 2: saluted him for his plan of annihilation of all those
- 4:35Speaker 2: who would oppose him. It was a world system in
- 4:39Speaker 2: chaos during the years of Germany's rule by the Nazis.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Millions of men, women and children were subjected to the
- 4:47Speaker 2: most inhuman torture and ultimately died by a system that
- 4:52Speaker 2: was dedicated to an aryan race ruling the world. Jews died,
- 4:58Speaker 2: Christians died. Many other ethnic peoples were numbered in the
- 5:02Speaker 2: Nazi war crimes. The few that opposed Hitler and chose
- 5:06Speaker 2: to die rather than be a part of his system.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Many were Christian believers. One known as Cory ten Boon.
- 5:15Speaker 2: She and her family, who were from Holland, did everything
- 5:19Speaker 2: in their power to hide and protect Jews from the
- 5:22Speaker 2: Nazi Holocaust. Most of her own family perished along with
- 5:27Speaker 2: those they protected. Corey lived through the Holocaust. She became
- 5:33Speaker 2: a voice of warning to all of us never again.
- 5:38Speaker 2: She is only one of many that history records who
- 5:43Speaker 2: had given their lives to save some of those destined
- 5:47Speaker 2: to die. In Hitler's death camps. Jesus said before his
- 5:53Speaker 2: return that events such as those described here would happen
- 5:59Speaker 2: when our persecution comes to this country. Will we be
- 6:03Speaker 2: able to stand in God's power and die if need be,
- 6:08Speaker 2: rather than give in to the world system.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 6:15Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us you've been listening to
- 6:17Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word with Richard Ka. You can hear
- 6:20Speaker 1: this message in its entirety again online as well as
- 6:23Speaker 1: Richard's entire archive at Talknetwork. Radio dot Com. We would
- 6:28Speaker 1: like to acknowledge our theme song, how Great Is Thy
- 6:31Speaker 1: Faithfulness from the America's twenty five Favorite Hymns album unless otherwise.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Express scriptures are read from the Homan Christian Standard Bible,
- 6:41Speaker 1: which is published by Homann Bible Publishers in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Additional resources used for reflections on the Word with Richard
- 6:48Speaker 1: K include Great Is Thy Faithfulness by Our Daily Bread
- 6:53Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again here is Richard.
- 6:57Speaker 1: To wrap up today's.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Message, Jesus said, a greater love has no man than
- 7:05Speaker 2: that he would lay down his life for his friends.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Then they will hand you over for persecution, and they
- 7:12Speaker 2: will kill you. You will be hated by all nations
- 7:15Speaker 2: because of my name. Then many will take offense, betray
- 7:20Speaker 2: one another, and hate one another. Many false prophets will
- 7:25Speaker 2: rise up and deceive many. Because the lawlessness will multiply,
- 7:31Speaker 2: the love of many will grow cold. But the one
- 7:34Speaker 2: who endures to the end will be delivered. This good
- 7:38Speaker 2: news of the Kingdom will be proclaimed in all the
- 7:41Speaker 2: world as a testimony to all nations. And then the
- 7:47Speaker 2: end will come. And that is today's reflection on the word.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Thank You. Richard join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 7:57Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Word with
- 8:00Speaker 1: Richard k or Richard and the entire team. This is
