- 0:24No, we didn't. It wasn't on Friday last year.
- 0:27Dude, I can't remember what I ate yesterday.
- 0:29I, I I don't know. I don't even remember what we
- 0:31did last year. Last year we went to the to to
- 0:36the brewery. We went to a brewery.
- 0:38Last year, yeah. In costume.
- 0:39Three pizza we did. Yeah, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 0:42Yes. It's awesome.
- 0:43Back to. Me now.
- 0:46I yeah, dressed up as recent with.
- 0:48Wings, yes. Yep, and you didn't keep them,
- 0:50much to my dismay. The return was worth it because
- 0:55we got our money back, so it was totally.
- 0:58Fine. It's because they were
- 0:58defective. They were defective.
- 0:59They were defective. I remember portion it to my body
- 1:02either. Yes, mostly they were defective
- 1:04and you deserve that refund. Yes, exactly.
- 1:06And I got it. Good.
- 1:07What did you dress up as? I I think I told the podcast
- 1:10last week I dressed up as salt bird which I might be recycling.
- 1:15We do have fun Hallow weekend plans I am so excited for.
- 1:20Super excited and technically you could wait to listen to this
- 1:25episode and listen to it there on the way there.
- 1:29Yeah, if you're our friends who are who are joining us this
- 1:32weekend. Otherwise, it's just a regular
- 1:35Thursday for you and I hope you have a really fun weekend.
- 1:37Plans. Super fun weekend plans.
- 1:39Yeah, like going at the club or something.
- 1:42Club. Another club.
- 1:44Trick or treating? Trick or treating?
- 1:45Playing. Your neighbour's house.
- 1:48More trick or treating? Scarecrow Scarecrow.
- 1:51An empty field. A pumpkin patch.
- 1:54The freaky fields. Have you been in an empty field
- 1:56at night time? Where would we find one?
- 2:00I've done parking lots. Empty parking lots.
- 2:03That's scary. Yeah, I'd say that's the
- 2:05equivalent of a field. Especially if you're a woman.
- 2:08Oh no, no, no, I we don't wish that upon anyone.
- 2:15Never me, I'd be so scared. Friend, I'm excited the the
- 2:21weather has been OK. It's been a little crispy but
- 2:23today was like 90 something. It was a little disgusting.
- 2:27I walked to go get lunch today with Alexa and it I was sweating
- 2:31on the way back. Did did you happen to go to
- 2:34Jollibee? I did not go to Jollibee.
- 2:36It's never an option. Alexa has like beef with in the
- 2:40same way I have beef with lately.
- 2:42This is Alexa has beef with Jollibee.
- 2:44Alexa, why? I don't know.
- 2:47She said it just wasn't good to her.
- 2:48What did that bee do to you? I don't Jolly bee do to you.
- 2:51She hasn't had the mango pies yet.
- 2:52That's what I think the issue is, 'cause those are delicious.
- 2:54That is the number one thing you go for at Jollibee.
- 2:57Go for the mango pie. Is it like mango pineapple?
- 3:00Or something. Mango pineapple pie.
- 3:01Yeah, it. Is God, they're so good.
- 3:02They're just 10 times better than McDonald's apple pies.
- 3:04I agree, it honestly is the best, like fast food dessert I
- 3:08think I've ever had. Unfortunately we're not
- 3:10sponsored by Jollibee, so go at your own will.
- 3:12We're not telling you to go. We're not telling you to go, but
- 3:15get the pie if you go. Yeah.
- 3:17Do you have a good week so far? I've yeah, I've had a good week
- 3:20so far. It's been chill.
- 3:21Like I said, it's I feel it in the morning when I walk out and
- 3:24it's dark and it's cold and I can wear a hoodie and I'm like,
- 3:26yes, finally. Then 10 AM rolls around and.
- 3:31Then 10 AM rolls around and it's already 80 something degrees.
- 3:33You're like, OK, that's all coming up.
- 3:35I wore a beanie. How to take that off?
- 3:36Yeah, no, but besides that, it's been a good week.
- 3:39I will say it, it's already a faster week than last week.
- 3:42Last week for some reason it was super slow.
- 3:44It dragged. What did we even have planned?
- 3:47I had a busy week. I had a fun Halloween party last
- 3:50weekend. Did you have fun?
- 3:51I had lots of fun, hung out with friends, did have some crazy
- 3:56stuff happened that it's not my business to tell, but OK wait,
- 4:00poor friend. Hope you're hope you're having a
- 4:02good time. I hope you're having a a better.
- 4:04Time a better week, yeah. A better week?
- 4:06I don't know what this is about, but I hope you have a better
- 4:08week. That's how we like it here.
- 4:11Ominous and spooky and you don't know what we're talking about.
- 4:16Oh God, the spider man come out to play.
- 4:19I quoted that today on a megaphone to someone.
- 4:22Thank you. I I say this to Brian every time
- 4:25we hop on to play Fortnite, which we haven't done in a
- 4:28while. I know, so sorry my feelings are
- 4:30hurt the 1st. Thing I say when he jumps on
- 4:33onto the mic. Is that the green goblin quote
- 4:36with my green goblin skin? Anyways, sorry guys.
- 4:39OK, well my friend here brought us a little coke to celebrate
- 4:44our 15th episode. I think episode 15-1. 15 yeah
- 4:4915. And our big Halloween episode.
- 4:51I I think this deserves a cheers OK with these.
- 4:55I got some Coke Zeroes. I brought us 2.
- 4:57Coke Zeroes because I know Brian, my Co host here, love
- 5:00some Coke Zeroes. When he listens to.
- 5:02You It is spooky week with spooky weekend right around the
- 5:06corner. We are choosing to y'all because
- 5:09we love y'all. But friend, cheers.
- 5:12Cheers. Happy Halloween.
- 5:13Happy Halloween. There is nothing scarier than
- 5:16caffeine addiction. Oh.
- 5:17My goodness, that was Crisp was yours as Chris was mine.
- 5:21Yeah, that sounded good. Hopefully you guys got some good
- 5:23A somewhere. That was pretty good.
- 5:24Cheers. Cheers, hopefully you guys heard
- 5:26that. Oh, hopefully you guys like the
- 5:29sound of slurping. For a quick second, try not to.
- 5:31I'm going to try not to. Oh, that was a spicy one.
- 5:36Oh man, that does not taste like a like a Coke zero.
- 5:42I failed to mention I got these off of a website.
- 5:44I thought it was Timu, but it wasn't Timu you.
- 5:46I didn't. Oh, are you OK for?
- 5:48You that coke off of Timu I? Excuse us.
- 5:53Wow. Oh my God.
- 5:55I didn't read the fine print but it was like less than a cent.
- 5:59Oh my God, Oh my. Wait, wait.
- 6:03Give me a second. I'll be right back.
- 6:05Jeez, what is this it? That was weird.
- 6:11Well. Anyways, hi friend.
- 6:14Hi. Hi, how you doing today?
- 6:17I'm good. Yeah, I'm good.
- 6:20All right, Well, welcome back to the Daily Bean flick.
- 6:24I am half of your hosts, I would say.
- 6:27And I'm Melissa. And you know today, what do you
- 6:31think, friend? It's October.
- 6:33What does that mean to you? Spooky fall weather candy, yes.
- 6:40Pumpkins. Not much of A pumpkin spice
- 6:42girly, but I can get with a Chai latte.
- 6:45I agree with you, I'm not much of A pumpkin spice person.
- 6:47I had a like a matcha apple spiced thing the other day
- 6:53before Disney. Amazing really.
- 6:55It tasted just like a Chai latte.
- 6:57Just like very like spice flavor.
- 6:59That's yummy. But Yum.
- 7:01I love a cardamom. I love an apple.
- 7:04Apple Something, you know. Wow.
- 7:06Well, since it's October, what do you think about talking a
- 7:10little bit about ghost stories? Something.
- 7:15Yeah. Do you believe in ghosts?
- 7:17I do like I when I was growing up, I was a little bit of
- 7:20stitious, like I had a few paranormal experiences.
- 7:24But as I'm getting older, like I'm basically superstitious.
- 7:29Like I, I love the idea that there's another something,
- 7:34there's something and then they're still here because this
- 7:37is like. Yeah.
- 7:40Yeah, so like I do, I do believe in ghosts.
- 7:43I like that. I think so too.
- 7:44And I think mostly, you know, it makes me think of Day of the
- 7:47Dead, makes you think of, you know, Coco and all of those
- 7:51different. You know, and that's culturally,
- 7:53that's really important to us. Totally.
- 7:54I agree with that. But in terms of our own
- 7:57experiences, I mean, what do you think?
- 8:01Do you feel like you've ever had a paranormal experience?
- 8:05Success, if it's not already known.
- 8:10I don't know if I've ever told you this story.
- 8:11I think you might have, but tell me again.
- 8:13Yes. So we have a family ghost.
- 8:16He's a little Mia at the moment, but growing up we had a family
- 8:21ghost called Charlie. Oh, you named him Charlie?
- 8:24Or is this a dead child that you found?
- 8:26No. OK, we.
- 8:27I don't know who came up with the name, whether that was like
- 8:30my mom or, or I feel like it might have been my mom.
- 8:34But there was Charlie and he started showing up around when I
- 8:40was in like middle school and we had just moved houses.
- 8:43We like grew up in LA Baldwin Park area, moved to Chino,
- 8:47Baldwin Park, Baldwin Park, we moved to Chino and we moved into
- 8:53this new house. And my mom had this friend who
- 8:56she was working with and he was like, you have a new house, you
- 8:59have to bless it first. And we're just like.
- 9:02He knew something, yeah. And something was up.
- 9:04And so like he came to the house and he did like the whole
- 9:07tradition of like salt around, yeah, the outside around the
- 9:11property, around the property to prevent any spooky stuff or bad
- 9:16energy and the whole. I would call that like a
- 9:18cultural superstition too, right?
- 9:20Of of the salt or of the of the Olympia, right?
- 9:24Yes, of a place. So they did that, but I guess it
- 9:28didn't work because throughout our experience at that house, we
- 9:34there was a lot of it was a one story house.
- 9:36So it wasn't like creaking up the stairs, smaller house, just
- 9:39a smaller house. It was not an old house.
- 9:41So it wasn't like we didn't really think that there was like
- 9:45it was just, it wasn't the house making.
- 9:46Noise. There wasn't no flapper ghost.
- 9:48Prohibition Ghost. So my sister was little.
- 9:52She was like 5 years old when we moved into that house I believe
- 9:55and. She used to wake up.
- 9:57Yes, and she shared a room with me and so like she like would
- 10:01see she woke me up one night and she was like who is that And I
- 10:05was like. Burned the house down.
- 10:07What do you mean? And I'm like looking in the dark
- 10:10and she's like right there in the corner, like there's a like
- 10:12a, there's a man there. And I'm just like go back to
- 10:17sleep and I was like, I'm only two years older.
- 10:19Like I'm just freaked out, trying to be protective of my
- 10:22little sister. And she goes, she goes back to
- 10:24sleep and I'm just like wide awake, just experiencing like
- 10:28just dread and like, but over the years, like we just he was
- 10:33present. There was just like he would
- 10:35leave the light on, he would open the door, he would.
- 10:38Make a noise. Make a noise and but we turned
- 10:42like I think he got used to us and we like.
- 10:44So he was a friendly. He was a friendly ghost.
- 10:46Never did anything. He never sinister us, never.
- 10:49He didn't wake up with scratches or anything like that.
- 10:52Wow. And he was just present, like he
- 10:55was just made us like minding. Minding his business.
- 10:57Minding his business. So when we moved houses, he
- 11:00actually came with us. He followed, he followed us.
- 11:03He didn't want to leave us like I mean, we are.
- 11:05Very. He was like, oh, I wanna, I
- 11:07wanna this nice Mexican family would not me?
- 11:11So in that other house, same city, that's when he would hear
- 11:17walking up the stairs, leaving the light on in my momma's
- 11:20bathroom. Like one time my dog Sammy, she
- 11:24was barking at a space next to my mom and just barking,
- 11:28barking, barking like crazy. And my momma's like, it's not
- 11:31even looking at, like, my mom. Yeah.
- 11:32And she's barking at a space next to her.
- 11:34And it's just like, she's going crazy.
- 11:37And my mom's like, what's going on there?
- 11:38And there's nothing there. Dogs be seeing things too.
- 11:41It's always the dogs and the little.
- 11:42Kids. And Sammy was so protective and
- 11:44so loving. So I think she just tried to
- 11:47warn us. I think that might have been
- 11:48like, her first time seeing Charlie, maybe.
- 11:51And we assume it's Charlie. Yeah, because he didn't do
- 11:53anything to us. Essentially, that makes sense.
- 11:56I feel like you gotta assume because it's right.
- 11:58The same kind of vibe, the same non malicious energy, same.
- 12:02Acts that he was doing, like it wasn't like anything new.
- 12:05Your family ghost friend. Our family ghost and like that's
- 12:08one of the more mild stories of Charlie the.
- 12:12Charlie the Ghost. Charlie the ghost, but yeah.
- 12:14Do you have any? I do, you know, I, I like
- 12:19Charlie's Charlie the ghost story because I feel like it's,
- 12:22it's, for lack of better words, cute, you know, like it's, it's
- 12:26not, isn't ever anything bad. I would say my story is a
- 12:28little, a little darker, a little darker.
- 12:31Not to freak you out. I'm gonna start flickering the
- 12:33lights. But when I was around like 1516,
- 12:38it was back when I lived in San Diego with my parents and we
- 12:43would have a lot of family over, like small house, just
- 12:46two-bedroom house. But every once in a while when
- 12:48we'd have family over, my sister or me would go and sleep in the
- 12:52living room and we'd just make a, a tendido a little like, you
- 12:56know, bunch of blankets somewhere and we'd sleep.
- 12:59And then our family would get the rooms right out of courtesy.
- 13:04One night we had family staying over because we went to a
- 13:08funeral in, in, across the border in Mexico, in Tecate.
- 13:13So this is like probably 30-40 minutes from home, right?
- 13:20We went to this funeral and it was pretty late at night.
- 13:23By the time we got, you know, home, it was dark.
- 13:28It was dark. Early mornings.
- 13:31Witching hour. Witching hour, probably.
- 13:35It was one of those things where we got home late, everyone's
- 13:37tired, and then everyone just kind of crashes, right?
- 13:40So I made myself a little bundle of blankets in the living room
- 13:43and I went to sleep on the floor.
- 13:45And when you're like 15, nothing hurts.
- 13:47So sleeping on the floor is kind of cool and you don't really
- 13:50mind, but I remember I was sleeping and I couldn't tell you
- 13:56what time it was. Honestly.
- 13:57Probably 2-3, maybe 4, right? Still very dark and sleeping
- 14:04alone in the living room and clear as day.
- 14:07I heard a man's voice say open the door.
- 14:15Not a familiar voice. Not a familiar voice and it was
- 14:18like a one, one time it was, it didn't repeat, it didn't
- 14:21anything. It was one very clear male
- 14:24voice. Not my dad, not my anyone.
- 14:28Not the one that passed. I mean they would have probably
- 14:31spoken in Spanish. And and no, it was when I tell
- 14:37you I got like chills all over. And like, even right now, it's
- 14:41like sweaty talk, like thinking about it.
- 14:45But I heard it so clear that I you know how you like, like how
- 14:50a vampire will like stand up in a in a coffin, like, just like
- 14:52straight, straight up the core. Strength for that.
- 14:55The core strength 15 again, I stood straight up and I
- 15:00something just told me to like yell for my dad.
- 15:03So I yelled and I was like dad, and he came and he came like
- 15:08running right, 'cause he's like, what's wrong?
- 15:10And he came to the living room and he like kind of knelt like
- 15:13towards where I was. And he said what happened, what
- 15:16happened, like what's wrong? And I couldn't even, I couldn't
- 15:20even bring myself to explain. So I just said I had a
- 15:23nightmare. OK, Yeah.
- 15:25Because, of course, what else are you gonna say at 3:00 in the
- 15:28morning, right? But it was the creepiest thing
- 15:32that I've ever experienced. And for it to have been the same
- 15:35day as a funeral where there's probably so much energy in that
- 15:37cemetery, so many people. You have, they do have a saying
- 15:42like where not a saying, but like a thing where if you have
- 15:45good energy and you're not really protected and somebody
- 15:48that latches on to you like. Terrifying.
- 15:52Crazy. So many movies about that type
- 15:56of concept of the latching, right?
- 15:58But yeah, that's my one. Really an only ghost story.
- 16:02Wow. Creepy.
- 16:04Creepy. Yeah.
- 16:05No, that was a good one. Yeah.
- 16:07Yeah. I mean, I feel like we can talk
- 16:09about that. Talking for so long for.
- 16:12So long because I do have scarier ones, but just to keep
- 16:17in light of I think we're gonna keep it with you scary me like
- 16:21fun. Yeah, I wonder why that is,
- 16:23friend. Tell me, do you enjoy a scary
- 16:27movie? I do not.
- 16:29I am such a chicken like a scaredy cat, like all those
- 16:35little weenie Hut junior like. I cannot with the with the scary
- 16:40movies only because like. Yeah, what is it about them as
- 16:43a? Kid like I was introduced to a
- 16:46few like cousins would play scary movies or even like my
- 16:49brothers, specifically my brothers who played very but the
- 16:57the movies like would like linger in my head and I would go
- 17:02to sleep and I would have very, very vivid nightmares and like
- 17:07it's, it's something a feeling like that I couldn't and I have
- 17:11anxiety like and I didn't know what that was when I was little.
- 17:15So when I would wake up and my heart racing and I had asthma,
- 17:17like those things feel mixed. Couldn't breathe.
- 17:20Couldn't breathe. And just like I feel like I
- 17:24would envision like I just have a very.
- 17:26Vivid. Imagination and I would create
- 17:29scenarios even if they're not real.
- 17:31Yeah, and. So it would just create these
- 17:35effects and I'm. Doing it to myself, yeah.
- 17:37So it's not like it's the movie like I understand like some of
- 17:40them are expertly like crafted and made and enjoyable.
- 17:45There's a lot of. Art.
- 17:46And there's art appreciated. Yes.
- 17:48Not for me. Not for me.
- 17:51I like the fun Halloween, like just a just a nice wholehearted,
- 17:56like magic. Magic for me is like is what I
- 17:59like about Halloween. Yeah, How about you?
- 18:01Yeah, I mean, you know that I do enjoy myself a scary movie.
- 18:05I I think for me, I grew up First of all, my mom loves the
- 18:11scary movies. Wow.
- 18:12She just enjoys the thrill. So I think that just kind of
- 18:19picked up on that from when I was a kid.
- 18:21But I think for the most part I I like scary movies 1 because I
- 18:26can appreciate maybe the art of it all right, and the special
- 18:29effects and kind of the how do they do it of it has always
- 18:33fascinated me. But I think also I like that
- 18:37feeling of how should I put it? I think it's more of a a release
- 18:43of the the screws or the the jump scare, the adrenaline.
- 18:46Yeah, I think that that release is really fun and thrilling.
- 18:51And, and yeah, it's definitely not for everyone.
- 18:53So I totally understand because I also will enjoy a light
- 18:56hearted movie once in a while. And there's definitely been
- 18:59horror movies that have backfired on me and have caused
- 19:01me nightmares. I don't understand why people go
- 19:07through those things. It's self-inflicted, yeah.
- 19:09self-inflicted torture, Yeah. I mean, what do you, what do you
- 19:14think? Has there been any movies that
- 19:16you feel like really did it really kind of scarred you?
- 19:18Yes, and this is when I bring back the My brothers did this to
- 19:22me, They showed me it. That was too little the the.
- 19:27The classic 1, the Pennywise. Yeah, the classic one.
- 19:31Like I still like, I I avoid everything clown.
- 19:34Like, like historically, famously, all my friends know
- 19:39and family know that I do not like clowns to a point where
- 19:43they're so kind enough that they're not clowns for
- 19:46Halloween. They don't dress up as clowns.
- 19:48But the IT movie really scarred me because it was just like it
- 19:52was supposed to be a fun character doing such evil,
- 19:57harmful things to children. And then like even like the
- 20:02ending scene in the bathtub, like if we're in the original
- 20:04movie, like in the original, I still see that in my head if I
- 20:09still think about it. So I try to like avoid it.
- 20:12And then also in the same sense, in the same.
- 20:16Time when I was that little, they showed me Leprechaun I.
- 20:19Think that's what it's called? Oh OK, disgusting.
- 20:22Yeah, I wanna throw up. That little guy is little.
- 20:24Yes, but like those things, like you're taking something that's
- 20:28supposed to be fun and turning them into monsters.
- 20:32They're so twisted if you think about.
- 20:34It exactly. So I'm just like that was ever
- 20:36since then, basically like I those two movies, Yeah and
- 20:41dolls. Anything doll related not.
- 20:43Creepy a Creepy. Doll.
- 20:44Not my thing. Not my thing.
- 20:46Wow. Creepy mannequin.
- 20:48Yeah, No way. See, I don't know if there's
- 20:53been really scary movies that have created that effect in me.
- 20:59I think one movie which I know, you know, to this day we I bring
- 21:04up is The Witch, which we've probably mentioned.
- 21:07It's one of those unconventional, I wouldn't call
- 21:11it thriller, but I would definitely call it very
- 21:13unsettling movies. Yeah.
- 21:17That really makes, I think people feel unsettled in that,
- 21:22right? Comfortable, creepy way.
- 21:23Uncomfortable. Totally.
- 21:24It makes me want to kind of like turn it off type of thing, but I
- 21:29think the ring was another one we're seeing it as a kid maybe I
- 21:32didn't fully understand the idea of.
- 21:35Is that the girl with the hair? Yeah.
- 21:38Yeah, see, I know like main scenes.
- 21:39Yeah, but like. It's 'cause they're so iconic.
- 21:42Horror movies are so iconic, right?
- 21:44Yeah. But what's funny enough, which
- 21:46actually, I think my sister is one of the few people that
- 21:49knows. When I was a kid, I used to be
- 21:50terrified of ET. Terrified.
- 21:54Terrified. Don't know what happened there.
- 21:59Couldn't tell you. Alien.
- 22:00Couldn't tell you what happened. I think though it was partially
- 22:03head shape. The head shape creepy, the voice
- 22:06creepy, the little the finger disgusting.
- 22:09I would have nightmares about that finger and then also the
- 22:12the soundtrack. Oh, really?
- 22:15I don't. I was too young when I saw that
- 22:17movie, so that didn't scare me. Yeah, but I don't remember stuff
- 22:21like that, Like soundtracks. Yeah, it's, it's interesting
- 22:24because music can really, really set the scene, can't it?
- 22:27Yeah, and that's when, like, jump scares come into effect,
- 22:29when the music is just like building and building up, and
- 22:33I'm just there with my ears covered, my eyes covered.
- 22:36You know what I find even more creepy or unsettling than jump
- 22:40scares? Some people whisper us and are
- 22:43my feet? Yes.
- 22:46That creeps me out because I'm like, oh, something's coming.
- 22:48There's someone in the room with me.
- 22:51Yeah. Their hair standing back in the
- 22:53back of your neck. For those of you that don't
- 22:56enjoy ASMRI, apologize. Oh my goodness.
- 23:00Just kidding. Well, in the sake of lightening
- 23:03things up and being a bit chaotic, as we are on on
- 23:07occasion, how about we play a game?
- 23:10Sure. I want to play a game, oh God a
- 23:15fun game, a fun game. So I was thinking we could do a
- 23:18little bit of like AF marry kill of some classic and new horror
- 23:26characters. Alright, alright.
- 23:28Sound fun? Yes.
- 23:29OK, start thinking of some off the top of your head.
- 23:31I'm going to start thinking we got to do, we got to do little
- 23:34categories here. OK, Any come to mind?
- 23:38What do you think? I think we can do Dracula,
- 23:46Frankenstein or The Mummy. Oh, you got some real classic
- 23:50ones. OK, OK, Dang.
- 23:56Should we? Do you want to both answer or do
- 23:58you want to go like one off 1? Like I'd give you characters,
- 24:02you'd give me characters. Let's do that.
- 24:03OK, OK, this is hard. I'm gonna say OK, I'm gonna say
- 24:11I'm gonna marry Frankenstein F Dracula and and kill the bubby.
- 24:21I agree totally you. Know we're on the same page.
- 24:25OK, here's the reasoning. You ready?
- 24:26OK, so Dracula, I mean, you gotta you gotta do the vampire.
- 24:34That's kind of self-explanatory. You got to do the vampire.
- 24:37OK, Homie probably knows what he's doing.
- 24:38And based off of the classic movies with those very like
- 24:42swoony scenes. He leaves his mark.
- 24:45He. Leaves his mark.
- 24:46And the candle lit the dark bedroom vibes.
- 24:50So give me a. So totally.
- 24:53And then Frankenstein, he's just misunderstood.
- 24:57Yeah, I feel like he would be a good time.
- 25:00You know, I haven't seen the new Guillermo del Toro movie, which
- 25:03we definitely have to go watch. But yes, I'm down to watch that
- 25:05one. I'm not scared of Frankenstein.
- 25:07Yeah, but I think that one's gonna be good.
- 25:09But you gotta. You gotta marry Frankenstein
- 25:11you. Know I just believe he's like
- 25:13strong and he's obsessed with you.
- 25:16He's protective. He only has eyes for you.
- 25:18Yeah, he's also a little dumb, so you gotta.
- 25:21Like, you know, a himpo. A himpo.
- 25:24Freaking sights a Himmo and then the mummy.
- 25:29I mean, the mummy doesn't really have much going on for him, you
- 25:31know, he's, he's probably real effed looking under those.
- 25:35Yes, and like I. Don't know if you like try to.
- 25:37Touch him. I feel like he just crumbled.
- 25:39He's crumbled. Crumbled.
- 25:41Yeah. Not done nothing for me.
- 25:42No dust, nothing dust. No one wants dust.
- 25:44No one does dust. No one needs dust down.
- 25:46There dirty. Not that kind of dirty.
- 25:49Oh yes, agreed. Let's do next.
- 25:53Let me think. OK, so I'm going to do you the
- 25:55classic ones, the the classic Halloween costumes.
- 25:59As you see the little boys wear the mask.
- 26:02OK, so like Michael Myers. Classic.
- 26:06Jason OK And Freddy Krueger. Dang, OK, I'm going to be
- 26:11honest, I'm going to get these masks confused here.
- 26:14OK, I do know Freddy Krueger is he got the claw, He got the.
- 26:18He got the. He has the the Holy Face.
- 26:21He has the holy face, the burnt. I think he he got burnt or
- 26:25something. I don't remember the lore, but I
- 26:27know that he shows up in nightmares.
- 26:29He's the Nightmare on Elm Street guy.
- 26:31That's Freddy Krueger, right? And then Michael Myers is the
- 26:35one with the he he has like the mechanic suit with the white
- 26:38mask, OK, and he has a little knife, right?
- 26:41That's and he walks really slow, very slow.
- 26:45And then Jason, I'm he's the hockey mask guy.
- 26:49Yes, I don't watch scary. Movies.
- 26:55I want to say he's the hockey mask guy.
- 26:56I never I've I've disclaimer I've never seen any of these
- 26:59movies, but I do know the characters.
- 27:00Well, we're killing. We're killing Freddy Krueger, I
- 27:03think. Yeah, he's just.
- 27:05He, he's not going to be pleasant to look at.
- 27:07He doesn't seem like he, he, he knows what he's doing.
- 27:09You know, he, I I don't like that he's got the striped shirt
- 27:14going on. He has no sense of style.
- 27:18So I think we're gonna kill him. I think I give Michael Myers a
- 27:23chance. But then there's Jason.
- 27:28And I don't really know much about Jason.
- 27:29What does Jason even look? Like, OK, so from what I was
- 27:32looking up when I was getting these little names together, I
- 27:36think Jason is the one that has childhood trauma.
- 27:40All right, so. Like he was the one who has
- 27:41drowned and came back to life and all.
- 27:44Right, so let me have some wrong viewers.
- 27:46Let's have a little night with Jason.
- 27:47I'm not the most reliable source for Halloween related things,
- 27:51but yeah. Let's let's do a night with
- 27:53Jason just because, you know, if he has a lot of trauma, I don't
- 27:55want to do it that long term. True.
- 27:58And then we'll give Michael Myers a chance because at least
- 27:59he's quiet. You.
- 28:01Know he's he's not gonna also the the the blue mechanic suit,
- 28:06you know, maybe he's good he's maybe he's good at doing, you
- 28:10know. We love the working class.
- 28:11We love we love the working class.
- 28:12We love a a blue collar. Let's let's keep it at that.
- 28:17OK. Wow.
- 28:19All right. I'm gonna throw a real
- 28:21unconventional one at you. You ready?
- 28:22Yeah. All right.
- 28:24You might not like it. I.
- 28:26You're looking at me. You're already scared.
- 28:29OK, so we got Chucky, all right. Classic.
- 28:32What? Late 80s, early 90s doll.
- 28:36Chucky. We got Annabelle all right.
- 28:39Another one. Why are you doing this to?
- 28:40Me, I'm so sorry, but I need to know.
- 28:43OK, and then let's do another little doll, man.
- 28:45His name is Jigsaw that. Was a.
- 28:48Tricycle. Not that we're not talking the
- 28:52man. Yeah, that runs the game.
- 28:54We're talking the doll. Exclusively.
- 28:56We're talking the doll. Respectfully, I don't think I'm
- 29:02going to participate in this one.
- 29:04That's fair. Like shout out in love to the
- 29:08dolls for trans rights and yay. Love.
- 29:11Burn these three. Burn.
- 29:13These three, yes, these are the kind of dolls we stand.
- 29:17There is, yes. There is no way in hell that
- 29:20they belong in hell, but there is no way that I'm choosing to
- 29:25either marry or F or have any kind of passionate romantic
- 29:29relationships with these dolls. It's not happening, It's not
- 29:32happening, it's not happening. Just burn them alive.
- 29:34Are they alive? You know, they've tried to burn
- 29:37Chucky and it didn't work. Didn't this really?
- 29:41Is it an actual doll in real life so or is it just the
- 29:44movies? That they burned him.
- 29:46It's the movie, but is. Oh, I know what you're asking
- 29:49because Annabelle is an actual doll, yes Yeah, Annabelle's an
- 29:52actual haunted doll. So Chucky's not Chucky's like a,
- 29:57you know, the movie Chucky. It's it's called Child's play.
- 30:00The original 1 I think it's called Child's Play.
- 30:02I've seen it. Yeah, OK, I've seen it.
- 30:04So he's just, he's just a character in the movie, but they
- 30:07made him into like a doll that you could buy because obviously
- 30:10capitalism, right? People want it as like a memento
- 30:14because they like it. So he's not an actual haunted
- 30:17doll, OK? He's just a product.
- 30:18Oh, I think I'm remembering I I saw it in Spanish in Mexico.
- 30:23What was it called in Spanish? Choki choki El choki with an O
- 30:28choki no. Idea actually.
- 30:31But yeah, I did. I did.
- 30:32From quibbles and evils. Something.
- 30:38Like, I agree with you, yeah. No, not about that.
- 30:41Not gonna, never gonna be about that.
- 30:43Not gonna do it. That brings me back.
- 30:44I think that just closely relates to like just dolls in
- 30:47general. Like my grandma had given me a
- 30:49doll. Was that like a creepy the
- 30:51porcelain 1 and it was on my bookshelves were creepy.
- 30:55It was on my bookshelf in that in the 1st house where Charlie
- 30:58was came. Yeah, came through.
- 31:01Whose idea was that? My grandma, and she's a
- 31:04Christian woman. Maybe to her they look like
- 31:07some. Yeah, it's probably like an
- 31:08American girl dog or whatever. No, we couldn't afford.
- 31:11American No, we couldn't. We just afforded the creepy
- 31:14ones, the ones that you would get.
- 31:15All this was. Funny.
- 31:18But there, yeah, that we had that doll.
- 31:20We had two sets, one for me and my sister, and they were on our
- 31:23bookshelf. And one day we had a Jesus
- 31:27picture above our doorway just to protect the girls in the
- 31:31house. That when those dolls arrived, I
- 31:35swear, I swear. I swear in normal life like that
- 31:39same night the the Jesus. Shut up.
- 31:42Picture fell and cracked in half.
- 31:45Throw those whole dolls away. Throw them away.
- 31:47I did, I think, but I think my mom did.
- 31:49Horrifying. Maybe that's a sign they're not
- 31:52in our lives anymore. Thank God.
- 31:54Does that mean that that's so creepy, Fred?
- 31:59I also had one of those dolls. I don't know what happened to
- 32:01it. I think my mom gave it away or
- 32:03put them outside on the curb for someone to take.
- 32:07Yeah, no nose, no dolls. All right, let's do two more.
- 32:11What did you say? Sure.
- 32:13All right, I'll give you Leatherface.
- 32:19That's the guy from Chainsaw Massacre, isn't it?
- 32:21I think it's specifically his movie called Leatherface.
- 32:24Oh, OK, OK, OK. If you want to Google his his
- 32:28his what he looks like real quick Ghostface.
- 32:33Oh, OK. Or the one that I despise in
- 32:40Penny Pennywise. Oh, OK, fine, OK.
- 32:44So Leatherface, Ghostface, Pennywise.
- 32:47See, I already know what you're gonna choose.
- 32:49Yeah. I I think, OK, see, I think, I
- 32:56think we marry Ghostface. Hear me out.
- 33:01I think we marry him because I think long term he could be fun.
- 33:08Yeah, but there's a bunch of silly little memes with him.
- 33:11Yeah, he could be fun. He looks like he's limber.
- 33:14A cute photo shoot. Baby Ghostface.
- 33:19Pregnancy enough. Dang.
- 33:24Yeah. You know, Leatherface really
- 33:26creeps me out, and I kind of feel like if I got on
- 33:29Pennywise's good side, I think he'd be a good time.
- 33:31But the thing about Pennywise is he's in the in the remake, he's
- 33:38played by Alexander Skarsgard, who also does Nosferatu.
- 33:43Did you know that? Yes, I did.
- 33:45Yes, actually I did know that you're.
- 33:47Acting really, really good. So it's really hard because I'm
- 33:51biased because I like him. But it's not but.
- 33:53It's not him. It's not, I mean, I'd say I'd
- 33:59say Pennywise. Why not on my end to just
- 34:04because he's an entity he could shape shift?
- 34:08That's true. OK, that's true.
- 34:10He. Could shape shift, so I think we
- 34:15might be able to do something with that.
- 34:16OK, OK, let your imagination run wild.
- 34:19No thanks, Leatherface. He he's he gives me the creeps.
- 34:25A little bit more than Penny wise, personally.
- 34:26But you could put a a. He already has a mask.
- 34:30On a pillow over his face, Switch it up with the reverse.
- 34:34I guess like. Yee Haw.
- 34:36You could say the same from Penny Wise.
- 34:37That's true. You're so bad.
- 34:45Yeah, that one wasn't pleasant. No, it's hard.
- 34:49OK, one more and let's end on a let's end on a good note.
- 34:52Let's talk about the girlies for a second, OK?
- 34:54Shout out to the to the baddies, the literal baddies, because
- 34:58they do bad things. How about we got Poison Ivy, we
- 35:03got Catwoman, OK, and we got Harley Quinn.
- 35:08Classic baddie villains. Iconic.
- 35:12There's nothing bad about them. I say all three.
- 35:15All three take them home. Marry them all marry.
- 35:18We have a nice little nice little convent type household
- 35:23with just call ladies. OK, so I think if I had to
- 35:30choose Catwoman respectfully, I would offer her.
- 35:37I'm allergic to cats. I I can't really vibe with them
- 35:40as much. They're cute, but if I've been
- 35:43sneezing all day and not like, even if it's in like a quick one
- 35:47night stand or all my life, I can't do it.
- 35:51So yeah, we're going to kill Catwomen.
- 35:53You know she's not really a cat, right?
- 35:55Yes I know, but doesn't she keep cats?
- 35:58Yeah, you know what? That's the thing.
- 36:00That's. You want to go over her plate?
- 36:02Maybe she'd have cat hair on her.
- 36:04And then you got the asthma. My inhaler.
- 36:08Where is it? So what was the other two?
- 36:12Poison Ivy. Yeah, we got Poison Ivy and then
- 36:15Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn Harley Quinn I will
- 36:19have fun adventures with Harley Quinn.
- 36:22She gives off chaotic. I would not know when to get
- 36:25with her. Very chaotic.
- 36:28Just fun and I think I would love that for at least a night.
- 36:31I think I would have Harley Quinn mess around with her and I
- 36:36would marry Poison. I would marry Poison Ivy solely
- 36:39because I think she's seductive, She's confident.
- 36:44She's like things that I would want to be.
- 36:46She keeps plants alive. True.
- 36:50I wouldn't have to worry about that.
- 36:53And as someone who got a bachelor's, environmental
- 36:57science. It just makes sense for.
- 37:00You. I didn't even think of that.
- 37:02Like kudos? I like that.
- 37:05Yeah, it's just doesn't mine. She she's probably vegan too.
- 37:08Yeah, I like going for. Her eco luxuries like live in
- 37:12those apartments that have green rooftops, recycles, composts.
- 37:17Composts for sure. She composts.
- 37:20She got the thing with the egg shells going.
- 37:23Wow. I I'm gonna go off on a little
- 37:25bit of a different route. So I would actually probably
- 37:31kill Harley Quinn. I think.
- 37:33I think she's a bit much for me. I think she.
- 37:35OK, I get it. I think I'd end up punching her
- 37:38and it just wouldn't be fun. OK.
- 37:40She a little much, you know. She'll laugh in your face while
- 37:43you punch. Her I I think I'm chaotic
- 37:44enough. I don't, I don't think I don't
- 37:46think we would be a good mix. We would wreak havoc.
- 37:51So I think I'm gonna F Poison Ivy.
- 37:55Yes. And I'll probably marry Catwoman
- 37:58because I think, yeah, I just. I like what she got going on.
- 38:01And. And Poison Ivy.
- 38:03I agree with you. I think she'd be good time.
- 38:05She knows about the plants and everything.
- 38:07Her place is probably well kept. She's like a tidy woman.
- 38:11But I think Catwoman, I think our lifestyles would mesh, would
- 38:14be able to go out together. Something about her screams nice
- 38:18restaurants. She gives off nice restaurants.
- 38:20And also she's a thief, so she has money.
- 38:23She probably stole the jewels from the Louvre.
- 38:28Actually, I think they caught the killers.
- 38:29I mean killers. Sorry, someone died on the mind
- 38:34frame of the Halloween. No, they caught the thieves.
- 38:37Really. I didn't.
- 38:38I didn't look into it. I think yesterday somebody told
- 38:40me yesterday. Wow.
- 38:42That's also could be misinformation.
- 38:45The Internet is full of lies. Wow, I will be looking into
- 38:49that. Yes, I'm invested in the story.
- 38:52Nobody does crime right, Right For the people like Robin Hood.
- 38:59He did a good job. Robin Hood?
- 39:01Yes. Do we like him?
- 39:02We like Robin Hood in D&D. He's what we would call chaotic
- 39:06good. Oh.
- 39:08Yeah. Shout out D&D.
- 39:10Shout out D&D, Shout out MDA. OK, hear me out.
- 39:16I don't know why you said MDA and I thought of M.
- 39:20What MDA, The drugs, No. We are drug free since 93.
- 39:29What? What's the thing?
- 39:30Oh yeah, vomit free from since 93.
- 39:34We are. We are drug free.
- 39:35We are red ribbon. Dude I think the spirit weeks is
- 39:40actually happening this week. I honestly, that doesn't
- 39:43surprise me. That doesn't say dare the dare
- 39:46did. I love when people wear the dare
- 39:48shirts. Ironically, they're wearing a
- 39:51dare to what is it? Dare to say no to drugs.
- 39:55They're wearing the shirt, but then they're just like vaping.
- 39:59It's great. Ironic.
- 40:01So what do you think? And I'm thinking it's time for a
- 40:04little. Hear me out.
- 40:06Yes. 'Cause we brought up a lot of
- 40:07characters against our will. Yes.
- 40:12But I think it's time to talk about the ones that maybe we've
- 40:15thought about. Maybe, you know, they run across
- 40:18our mind sometimes. You never know.
- 40:20OK, this is. Judgement free space.
- 40:23It's just you and me and our 10,000 listeners. 10,000 and
- 40:28growing and. Growing.
- 40:30They won't say anything, will you?
- 40:32Put it down in the comments below.
- 40:34Judge us in the comments. Below please tell I'm sensitive.
- 40:36She'll cry so. OK.
- 40:41What's one of your hear me outs? Hear me out, OK?
- 40:45Those are the ones that are like, not, let's say if we were
- 40:49keeping on theme with the Halloween, it's characters that
- 40:54probably are not as good looking.
- 40:57Right. Not conventionally.
- 40:58Conventionally good looking and maybe, hmm, interesting.
- 41:05OK. Yeah, Yeah.
- 41:07I think you're on it. I think not conventionally hot
- 41:10or if they are they're they have red flags all over them.
- 41:16But we love the. Red flags, You know, we can be
- 41:18toxic every once in a while. That's feminism.
- 41:20We make our own decisions. OK, I'm done.
- 41:25Let me think of 1 real quick. I'm gonna start off with an easy
- 41:31one. OK, that's.
- 41:33Let's ease the people in. Yes, let's ease the people into
- 41:35our negative thoughts. A character that I love
- 41:39imitating. I'm not the best, I'm not the
- 41:41best, I'm not the best. Are we gonna get AI Don't know
- 41:43an impression? Maybe not, maybe not, I just
- 41:46heard. Myself.
- 41:47A Bane from The Dark Knight. Oh no, best main impression I've
- 41:55ever heard. I'll get worse in the room right
- 41:58now. Bane, The Dark Knight.
- 42:01Dark Knight. He's he's big, he's got muscles,
- 42:05he's bald, he's got that weird mask on his mouth.
- 42:11But that voice is very intoxicating, very.
- 42:15Bring me in. I see.
- 42:16I see. Dirty to me.
- 42:19Through that mask. So, yeah, like the physique, his
- 42:23presence, although he's not, if I'm remembering the movie
- 42:28correctly, he's a bad guy, but his presence gives off, like,
- 42:32calm energy. And he doesn't.
- 42:37Yeah, he doesn't. Yeah, He he's polite.
- 42:39Yes, he's polite. He's polite.
- 42:41You're right. He listened.
- 42:43He does he. And he's also kind of not
- 42:45chaotic, if you think about it. He's like very grounded.
- 42:48And he has. He probably had a purpose for
- 42:50what he was doing. Yeah.
- 42:51But everyone deserved to die. Yeah, I like it.
- 42:56I'm he also has childhood trauma.
- 42:59Yes, I I think he. Did he grew up in a pit?
- 43:01Yes. I I don't read comics, I just
- 43:03know the movie. I just know the movie too, but
- 43:06yeah. That's a good one.
- 43:08I know he was loyal to his to that one lady, I think her name
- 43:13was Talia al Ghul. I think that's what he chance.
- 43:17I don't know. Wow, but loyal king.
- 43:18Bane. We love.
- 43:20That's a good one, friend. That's a good one.
- 43:22Thanks. You know, I think the public
- 43:23would agree with you. Yeah, I think so.
- 43:26Well, one of mine, on that same note, also wears a mask, Also
- 43:29has a funky voice. You might have heard of him.
- 43:33Darth Vader. OK, hear me out.
- 43:36We got the mask, all right. The mystery is automatically
- 43:39there. Darth Vader.
- 43:40Yes. Or Anakin beneath because Anakin
- 43:45is under there. I mean, it's it, it's yeah, it's
- 43:48Anakin. He's not.
- 43:49That's the that's the lore. He's not good looking anymore,
- 43:51that's why he wears the mask. Right, right.
- 43:53Right. I think, yeah.
- 43:55I think we have to separate the 2 for this, this sake just
- 43:58because. I mean, Anakin's Anakin, you
- 44:00know, who doesn't love Anakin? Another misunderstood person.
- 44:06I think Darth Vader just in general, Right.
- 44:09He's got the same kind of thing going that you mentioned,
- 44:11actually, where he has the the voice, the presence.
- 44:16He yelled sometimes, but not not often.
- 44:19And he was very commanding, you know?
- 44:21Yeah, he had that going for him. I think I could change him.
- 44:27I believe in your that you could.
- 44:29Either that or we'd kill each other trying, yes.
- 44:33What color would your lightsaber be?
- 44:35Off topic. OK, I mean, you gotta go red.
- 44:39Red. You gotta go red.
- 44:41I gotta go red. I think I would choose green.
- 44:43The green is cool too. Yeah, the classics.
- 44:46Or purple Samuel Jackson. Purple Samuel Jackson.
- 44:51Wow. I mean, Yoda too.
- 44:53Yeah, you oughta had the green. You oughta had green.
- 44:56Yeah, I like the red. The red's just badass, scary
- 44:59looking. Wow, what's another one?
- 45:02Give me one more. One more.
- 45:05Yeah. OK, Listen, this is a big hear
- 45:09me out. OK, give me, give me your
- 45:12biggest. Hear me out, El Kukui.
- 45:20Crazy. It's the cautionary tale that
- 45:23we. Grew up listening to.
- 45:25In our culture, you. Know that he's gonna get us.
- 45:27It's a monstrous figure that supposedly kidnaps kids that
- 45:31misbehave, right? I'm a good girl.
- 45:35Yeah, he just wants me to be a good girl.
- 45:38But maybe sometimes you misbehave.
- 45:39Oops, oops. That's amazing.
- 45:44So this is like deep Mexican lore, right?
- 45:47I feel like every culture might have this type of story where
- 45:50little kids don't stay out past, you know, past sunset or don't
- 45:54do anything bad or, you know, listen to your parents.
- 45:58It's like. That don't wander off at the
- 46:00grocery store, yeah. That's funny.
- 46:03You know what makes that one kind of cool friend?
- 46:05I'm thinking that 'cause it's, it's really like a ominous.
- 46:08Yeah, you. Don't really know we.
- 46:09Don't know. Yeah.
- 46:10We don't know what he looks like.
- 46:12I'm curious. The mystery.
- 46:15Wow. I'm drawn in.
- 46:16Wow. Yeah.
- 46:17But then somehow it's always depicted as like a man.
- 46:21Yeah, growing up it's like it's a senor the.
- 46:25Mystery man. It's a mystery man.
- 46:27Love it. Mystery date.
- 46:29Door #3. Please choose #3 Malone.
- 46:32Yeah. Oh, that's a good one.
- 46:36I like it. I like it.
- 46:38Wow. And you wouldn't think, right?
- 46:40No. OK, my, my kind of weird.
- 46:43I I would say maybe weird. Hear me out.
- 46:45Is so have you heard of Sleepy Hollow?
- 46:49Yes. Have you heard of the Headless
- 46:50Horseman? Yes.
- 46:52OK, hear me out. One.
- 46:56He's good with animals. Yes, he got the horse, you know
- 47:01he has to be. Doing a cowboy love.
- 47:03We love a cowboy. Actually really do love a
- 47:05cowboy. You know what's interesting?
- 47:06I think interesting, My, my Latino came out for a second.
- 47:10You know what's interesting? I think that he's originally
- 47:14from Texas. Makes sense?
- 47:16Might be wrong. Sound off in the comments if you
- 47:18think that. I'm completely off, but I think
- 47:21he's from Texas, which would make sense because he has a
- 47:23whole cowboy thing going. Yeah, and he doesn't have a
- 47:27head, which means he can't bother me.
- 47:29Can't talk back, can't talk back, no smart mouthing.
- 47:32He still has his most important parts.
- 47:34Yes, he does. OK.
- 47:37Also, like who? Who doesn't like you know, who
- 47:40doesn't like a little mystery there too, right.
- 47:43Again with the mystery, I think we're on to something.
- 47:45I think we've found our recurring theme.
- 47:47We're just. Drawing.
- 47:48We're just curious little. Yeah, woman, it's not a van with
- 47:53candy. It's a van with a mystery face.
- 47:55A man, A man. A van.
- 47:57Man with a van, Yeah. All right, you want to do some
- 48:02rapid fire ones we can, we can include in like hot ones now.
- 48:06OK, OK. That have probably issues and
- 48:08are manipulative and what causes trauma but we love it.
- 48:12I like it. OK, let's go.
- 48:15Lucifer, have you ever seen that show?
- 48:18Mama, he is hot. The accent, the don't.
- 48:22Apologetically, he's the devil himself, Yeah.
- 48:27What do they put in that hell water?
- 48:28I. Don't know, I'm interested in
- 48:31those simple extra jumps. Right in.
- 48:34Yeah, he's a good one. He's a good one.
- 48:36Yeah. I like it.
- 48:37OK. I feel like we brought it up
- 48:39already, but what do you think? Scream.
- 48:43Scream. Yeah, scream.
- 48:45Is it the mask thing? That's the mask.
- 48:46That's the mystery. That's the mystery, Yeah.
- 48:50Who is he behind that cloak? Yep.
- 48:52What does his body look like? Is it there?
- 48:56So he's walking around. Oh, I brought up Teen Wolf a
- 49:01little earlier in this episode. Void Styles.
- 49:04OK, so this is evil evil style. Evil styles.
- 49:07Yeah, he can rock my world. He does things, he knows things,
- 49:13he knows things. That's a good villain.
- 49:15That's a good, that's a good. He was.
- 49:16He played beautifully by Dylan O'Brien.
- 49:18I think also we were like in our prime watching that.
- 49:21Yeah, we were. Teens.
- 49:22Yeah, I was watching in our in our youth.
- 49:26Definitely, definitely. That's a good one.
- 49:29OK, Venom. The tongue.
- 49:32The tongue venom. That's the only thing.
- 49:34Also a little shape shifting, right?
- 49:36Yes, that is beautiful man. And he plays Bane.
- 49:39He does. It's all connecting.
- 49:41Connecting, You know, another thing I think about Venom too is
- 49:45that the even in the comics, from what I know, because of
- 49:49course I live with a man that likes this comic.
- 49:52Venom has a sense of humor. Yeah, that's really funny.
- 49:55Like a lot. Yeah.
- 49:57A lot of the things that we're mentioning is very like female
- 49:59gaze coded where like we like love a sense of humor.
- 50:03You know, we love a little like loyal also not super chaotic
- 50:07person like. Yeah, it's I I think the sense
- 50:10of humor is really funny, too. Make me laugh.
- 50:13You make me laugh. That's all you need.
- 50:15Yeah, key to my heart. Last one and I this is more of
- 50:21like Kid ish the Danny Phantom. Oh, that's a throwback.
- 50:26Everyone's hear me out. Nostalgia.
- 50:29He was every boy's gay awakening, every woman's
- 50:32awakening awakening. Yeah, he's, he's a cutie.
- 50:38He's just a cutie. I think when we were little we
- 50:41were like, wow, so enamored by him.
- 50:43He was just a ghost that was saving the world from other
- 50:47ghosts, right? Like.
- 50:49Yeah, OK. I don't want to get demonetized,
- 50:54but yes. We need the money, girl.
- 50:56Great. Great little song too.
- 50:59Yeah, he was cool. Amazing.
- 51:02Alright, well, enough of that. You know, we talked about
- 51:08movies, we talked about favorites, but I want to know
- 51:12like, what's what's your take on just your favorite?
- 51:16Like go to October movie, everyone has one.
- 51:21Maybe you have a whole arsenal of them, but what's your like
- 51:24Die Hard? If you only could watch this
- 51:27movie in October, what would you watch?
- 51:30Practical magic. Amazing.
- 51:33It's everything you need. Magic spells.
- 51:36Sandra Bullock, Sandra. Bullock, Nicole.
- 51:39Kidman like the the Making a Wish of Your Perfect Man and
- 51:47Just like the Sisterhood and Midnight Margaritas.
- 51:50Midnight Margaritas. That movie also has a really
- 51:53good soundtrack. It's just so fun.
- 51:56It's so fun and musical and witchy.
- 51:59I love anything to do with like magic and witches and stars and
- 52:03the moon and not so that's and you believe manifest manifesting
- 52:08for sure. Good things happen.
- 52:11Good things happen. That is a feel good October
- 52:12movie. That's the best.
- 52:14I'll give you another one, OK. And it's also a feel good.
- 52:17We're we're gonna steer away from the horror for a second.
- 52:19OK. Except it's in the name Rocky
- 52:22Horror Picture Show. Classic.
- 52:24Classic. It's fun.
- 52:27The songs are bops. Bop Bop after bop.
- 52:30Upbeat. It's it's just so iconic.
- 52:34The storyline is a little confusing to me.
- 52:37That's fair. It's like 3 storylines in one.
- 52:39That's kind of the point. But the wardrobe, The acting.
- 52:45Yeah, it's a cult classic for a reason, let's put it that way.
- 52:50Yeah, I will never not want to watch that movie in October.
- 52:54It's just a great one. Have you?
- 52:56I I will watch that every October.
- 52:58And that's actually, I think our next movie night is we're going
- 53:00to watch them. But my friend Frenchie, which
- 53:03you know, and she knows all of the call outs to the Rocky
- 53:07Horror Picture Show. So if you've never seen it live
- 53:09or for everyone, anyone out there that hasn't seen it live
- 53:13in live theatre, when Rocky, when people do Rocky Horror
- 53:16Picture Show, there's a set of dozens of call outs that the
- 53:23audience does to the actors on stage.
- 53:26And they're really funny. And they just add so much like
- 53:29humor to the. It's very interactive.
- 53:32They add so much comedy to the, to the whole, you know,
- 53:35something that's already very good and very fun.
- 53:38But she knows, like every single one.
- 53:40It's so cool. Yeah.
- 53:41So I, I really want to try to watch it with her because I just
- 53:44would enjoy to see her do every single call out by memory.
- 53:47That's a talent. That's fun.
- 53:50Yeah. That's a good one, I like that
- 53:52pic. Yeah.
- 53:53Should we go into maybe our to get a little zesty, a little
- 53:58spicy and the kinks in horror? Like why are people drawn to
- 54:03horror? Wow, that's a good one.
- 54:06Yeah, that's let's you know, it's kind of like.
- 54:08Why does the dark attract? Us.
- 54:10Yeah, very, very late night hour talks.
- 54:13Very, very philosophical. I think, you know, we talked
- 54:20about some themes here, masks, mystery, and I think these are
- 54:27themes that sometimes we see in like conventional romances,
- 54:33right? We see mystery, we see, we see
- 54:36like people that are fearing for their lives because there's some
- 54:40sort of problem that needs to be solved.
- 54:43Like these are all very classic type of things, right?
- 54:46And then at the end of the day, we like to think that, you know,
- 54:48these villains, maybe they're powerful.
- 54:52They're there's something about them that's control or power or
- 54:57dominating, right? So I think a lot of it might be
- 54:59that too. Yes, because you never dynamics
- 55:03playing with them. Totally.
- 55:04You never see a villain or a like a horror person.
- 55:06That's weak. No.
- 55:08That's. You, you don't see power over
- 55:10somebody. They have control.
- 55:12They 'cause either fear or mm. Hmm, excitement or?
- 55:18And I feel like not to get too sciency here, but I think the
- 55:21same part of our brain that gets fear response is also the same
- 55:26part of our brain that gets exciting.
- 55:28Exciting Dolphins. Serotonin.
- 55:33Whatever adrenaline is Sarah, I think it's Sarah.
- 55:36It's Sarah. I think it's the that adrenaline
- 55:39one. Yeah.
- 55:40Because that that's what causes our hands to get sweaty, our
- 55:43heart rate to go up, our pupils to dilate, our hair to stand up
- 55:47on our right. So it's almost like the same
- 55:49responses if you think about it right?
- 55:51Yeah, totally. Wow, we're toxic.
- 55:55We're toxic. We just want to just have
- 55:58somebody be a little bit, make us feel a bit submissive.
- 56:00Make us feel something. Remember that movie we watched?
- 56:03Which one baby girl? Yes.
- 56:06Oh shut on Nicole Kim and. Chat again.
- 56:09But yeah, that's that's playing into the power dynamics, the
- 56:12submissiveness of. Right.
- 56:15Being this powerful woman in herself and day-to-day.
- 56:17And then being at the mercy of someone but.
- 56:19Being at the mercy of someone at night.
- 56:23Well. But yeah, for like the Kingston
- 56:26horror, I guess like the when I think about like the classics,
- 56:29right, it's always like the corsets on a woman, the lace,
- 56:34the candle. Yeah, it was always that that
- 56:38image of like the vulnerable woman.
- 56:41It's like fantasy, but we're not getting harm.
- 56:44Like fantasy without harm. Yeah, if you can understand
- 56:47that. Yeah, you know what I hate?
- 56:50I hate that in a lot of classic horrors, there was this trope,
- 56:57right of the like harlot women, woman being one of the
- 57:01characters that gets killed off, right, in the same way that
- 57:04there's this trope of like the black man always dies or or the
- 57:08jock always dies, right. I feel like those are like
- 57:11tropes that kind of reoccurred in these classic horrors,
- 57:16obviously from a different decade, right.
- 57:19But yes, I think that that another part of taking back the
- 57:23idea of women, you know, having a say in this control is really
- 57:28interesting because yeah, now we're look at us, we're talking
- 57:31about it. Yeah, we're strong.
- 57:33We're giggling about it, yeah. I'm just saying.
- 57:37Wow, that's fun. I.
- 57:38Would want our viewers to give us a little bit why they like
- 57:41horror Yeah in the comments below.
- 57:43Is that your favorite genre? Do you hate it?
- 57:47Do you have any favorite movies? Any hear me out to share?
- 57:54Sure. Good ones, I'm not familiar with
- 57:56a lot of them but I'll look them up.
- 57:58We need to educate Melissa, folks.
- 58:00Yeah. Give her some movie
- 58:03recommendations. We never stop learning.
- 58:05We never stop learning. Wow.
- 58:08Moral of the story, it's October.
- 58:11Everyone can be a little crazy. Hope y'all have some cute
- 58:15costumes planned for your weekend.
- 58:18Exciting. Yeah.
- 58:19I love that Halloween is on a Friday this year.
- 58:22That is kind of it just gives it a little bit more of AI want to
- 58:28think of a word, but I only think I think of as a sound.
- 58:30What is the word? What is the sound?
- 58:31Oomph is a word. I bet you would send some.
- 58:36It's onomatopoeia. Yeah, it's in some dictionary
- 58:39factor. I like it.
- 58:41Thoughts on having Halloween parties on November 1st?
- 58:46Sure. Why not, right?
- 58:48Why not? Why not?
- 58:48It's a Saturday. Yeah, if you can get it from
- 58:51last weekend, yeah. But also it's for us culturally.
- 58:55It's the Day of the Dead. True.
- 58:58You could party on the Day of the Dead then, you know.
- 59:00Celebrate life. Even more of a reason to
- 59:02celebrate all weekend long. And then there's those random
- 59:05people that put up their Christmas tree November 1st.
- 59:06Which for sure my mom is going to be doing that.
- 59:09We won't judge. We won't judge.
- 59:10It's all the fun. Tis the season.
- 59:12Tis the season. Happy Holidays.
- 59:18All right, well, let's close off with that.
- 59:22And how about we do something that we do every week?
- 59:28OK. Which is give our song Wreck to
- 59:32the people. I love songs like music in
- 59:37general. We talked about soundtracks, we
- 59:39talked about now let's get down to the nitty gritty.
- 59:42What's your song of the week? OK, keeping a little bit on
- 59:45theme, I've had one that's currently been in my rotation
- 59:50for a couple weeks now. It's called Must Have been a
- 59:53Ghost by Proxima Parada, so I'll link it below.
- 1:00:00OK, take a listen, enjoy it. It's like very.
- 1:00:04Smooth and and gives you that like old timey soul kind of
- 1:00:10feel. Anyway, it's it's very nice and
- 1:00:14I really like it. It's been a near October
- 1:00:16rotation. Yes, yeah, actually cool.
- 1:00:19Is this new song old song? It's, I think it's from like
- 1:00:222019 to 18 something around there.
- 1:00:25So not new, not new, but new to me as in the past couple months.
- 1:00:30Cool, and it's been heavy now in October just because it has
- 1:00:34ghosts in the title. It feels even more appropriate.
- 1:00:37Appropriate. I like it.
- 1:00:39How about yours? Yeah, mine's, mine's not really
- 1:00:42on theme, but it is a new release.
- 1:00:45And it kind of took me by surprise, I'll be honest,
- 1:00:47because they don't listen to this artist often.
- 1:00:53And I'm not like, I wouldn't call myself like a fan.
- 1:00:56But I do appreciate, I think a lot of the songs that this
- 1:01:00artist has put out and that the song is Bergain, Bergain by
- 1:01:05Rosalia. And this is the song that
- 1:01:07actually dropped the 20 the 28th on Tuesday the 28th.
- 1:01:13Oh nice. Yeah.
- 1:01:13So it's it's really, really interesting and unconventional.
- 1:01:18It doesn't really have. Like it doesn't sound like.
- 1:01:19Her it doesn't have like the classic Rosalia sound.
- 1:01:22Rosalia. It's actually in German.
- 1:01:25For. The most part, yeah.
- 1:01:26So, So this was a song that she did in collaboration with like
- 1:01:29two other artists. One is Bjorn and then the other,
- 1:01:33I forget what it's called. It's like I Ives tumor, Ives
- 1:01:37tumor or something. And haven't listened to either
- 1:01:41of those two other artists, I don't think.
- 1:01:43But it's really, really, like, vibey, very opera, very, very
- 1:01:50ghostly in her vocals. Yeah.
- 1:01:52Like, you know, Rosalia can get up to those registers where it's
- 1:01:55very angelic. So it really took me by
- 1:01:57surprise, I'll be honest. Yeah.
