- 0:26Speaker 4: Oh.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Yeah, we all have on our couch that on a

- 0:43Speaker 4: get him from Costco over the years. Okay, so now
- 0:46Speaker 4: I've gone to the age now where well over fifty
- 0:50Speaker 4: percent of my wardrobe is from Costco. But this was
- 0:53Speaker 4: a Costco purchase that I had forgotten about.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:56Speaker 4: I was putting away some clothes after doing laundry and
- 0:58Speaker 4: I was like, oh, I ram remember this top I'm
- 1:01Speaker 4: gonna start wearing. It's not quite cold this now. Like
- 1:05Speaker 4: it was earlier in the week. But yes, I'm feeling cozy.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Looks super cozy.
- 1:10Speaker 3: I bet you there's a blanket version of that Costco
- 1:13Speaker 3: has put out, but I love it. So we're off
- 1:16Speaker 3: to a good start here on a Friday morning. We
- 1:18Speaker 3: hope you are off to a great start as well.
- 1:19Speaker 3: As we head into the weekend. Chili's working on Top Story,

- 1:24Speaker 3: world coming up next. Plus we've got some music lined
- 1:26Speaker 3: up for you in just a few minutes here on
- 1:28Speaker 3: ninety seven point one wash.
- 1:30Speaker 6: FM Top Stories Top of the Hour.
- 1:35Speaker 4: A bill that calls on the Justice Department to release
- 1:38Speaker 4: all of its Jeffrey Epstein case files will get voted
- 1:42Speaker 4: on in the House next week. With the discharge petition
- 1:45Speaker 4: now reaching the two hundred and eighteen signatures needed, House
- 1:49Speaker 4: Speaker Mike Johnson is now required to put the bill
- 1:53Speaker 4: on the floor soon. Secretary of War Pete haig Seth
- 1:57Speaker 4: has announced a new military operation getting Narco terrorists. He
- 2:02Speaker 4: said that the US Southern Command will lead Operation Southern Sphere.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Now that the government shut downs over DC's Smithsonian Museums
- 2:12Speaker 4: are going to start to reopen, the National Museum of
- 2:14Speaker 4: American History, the National Air and Space Museum, and the
- 2:17Speaker 4: Udvar Hazy Center will welcome visitors again starting today, while
- 2:22Speaker 4: the rest of the museums and the National Zoo will
- 2:26Speaker 4: reopen by Monday. Montgomery County's MC Groceries program is expanding
- 2:31Speaker 4: now to help seven hundred working families who don't qualify
- 2:35Speaker 4: for federal food assistance but still struggle to cover basic
- 2:39Speaker 4: living costs. So qualifying families will get one hundred dollars
- 2:43Speaker 4: per child every month to shop on Instacart. In response
- 2:48Speaker 4: to safety concerns, Lime and Veyo are reducing the speed
- 2:52Speaker 4: of their e bikes in DC, so Lime's boost feature
- 2:56Speaker 4: will now top out at eighteen miles an hour and
- 3:00Speaker 4: at fifteen miles an hour. That's down from the previous
- 3:03Speaker 4: twenty mile an hour limit. And according to a recent survey,
- 3:07Speaker 4: forty four percent of holiday gifts are bought from small businesses,
- 3:12Speaker 4: and a third purchase most of their seasonal items locally.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Twice as many shoppers prefer small shops over big box
- 3:20Speaker 4: stores during the holidays, and seventy two percent say that
- 3:23Speaker 4: their celebrations rely on these local establishments. Forecast for today,
- 3:28Speaker 4: party cloudy Skies with highs around fifty eight. Right now
- 3:32Speaker 4: it's thirty one in Stafford.
- 3:33Speaker 3: All right, Chilli, thanks a lot coming up next to
- 3:35Speaker 3: our morning mindset for Friday morning and inspirational quote to
- 3:39Speaker 3: get us all in the right mindset, Chili, we'll share
- 3:42Speaker 3: that with us next. Mariah Carey, the Queen of Christmas,
- 3:46Speaker 3: and when she says we can start playing Christmas music
- 3:48Speaker 3: on WASHFM, we sure will. It's coming soon. Ninety seven
- 3:52Speaker 3: point one wash FM with Toby and Chile in the morning.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I'm kiddo'she it's time for our morning mindset.
- 3:58Speaker 4: So because we kick off our best of the eighties
- 4:01Speaker 4: weekend every Friday at five o'clock, I chose this lyric
- 4:04Speaker 4: from the song Sunglasses at Night by Corey Hart, one
- 4:08Speaker 4: of my favorites. In it, he says I wear my
- 4:10Speaker 4: sunglasses at night so I can, so I can.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Now.
- 4:15Speaker 4: It's a surprisingly motivational when you think about it. It's
- 4:17Speaker 4: like saying I'm choosing to face the world on my
- 4:20Speaker 4: own terms, even when things are unclear or challenging. Those
- 4:23Speaker 4: sunglasses become a symbol of confidence and self protection, so
- 4:27Speaker 4: you're not letting any distractions, doubts or negativity blind you.
- 4:32Speaker 4: That's why you're wearing the sunglasses. See how you can
- 4:35Speaker 4: twist it, make it motivational, inspirational. I wear my sunglasses
- 4:39Speaker 4: at night, so I can, So I can. It is
- 4:43Speaker 4: a lyric in the song Sunglasses at Night by Corey
- 4:46Speaker 4: Hart and you can find it on the Toby and
- 4:49Speaker 4: Chili page at washfm dot com or you can also
- 4:53Speaker 4: see it on our Instagram page if you follow WASHFM.
- 4:56Speaker 3: And you can hear it this weekend on our Best
- 4:58Speaker 3: of the Eighties weekend which starts today.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Five.
- 5:00Speaker 3: All right, Chili, thanks a lot. Coming up next, there
- 5:02Speaker 3: is a new trend when it comes to showering. We'll
- 5:05Speaker 3: share it with you next. Plus Chili has tried it,
- 5:07Speaker 3: so does it work? It's supposed to help you sleep
- 5:10Speaker 3: details next Toby and Chili in the Morning.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Ninety seven point one, wash FM.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I'm kidd o'she there's a new trend when it comes
- 5:18Speaker 3: to showering, and it's supposed to help you sleep better.
- 5:21Speaker 3: And our trendst are here on the Toby and Chili show.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Chilia Mahar has already tried it.
- 5:26Speaker 4: I didn't realize this was a trend. It's called dark showering. Okay,
- 5:30Speaker 4: it's when you take showers in very low light or
- 5:33Speaker 4: darkness at night to promote relaxation and better sleep. The
- 5:38Speaker 4: idea here is that dim lighting helps lower your cortisol,
- 5:41Speaker 4: which is your stress hormone, and it supports melatonin production,
- 5:45Speaker 4: which signals the brain at its time to rest. Boh,
- 5:48Speaker 4: And I do always take my showers at night because
- 5:51Speaker 4: I don't want to get up any earlier. I have to,
- 5:53Speaker 4: and I like to. Some bathrooms have that one like
- 5:57Speaker 4: just above the shower, and then there's the main room
- 6:00Speaker 4: light do you yeah, talk yeah, And the one above
- 6:02Speaker 4: the shower is the dimmest of them all. So sometimes
- 6:05Speaker 4: I just have that on and sometimes honestly I'll just
- 6:09Speaker 4: leave the bedroom door open just for a little bit
- 6:11Speaker 4: of light to come in. I just like it. I
- 6:14Speaker 4: just like setting the mood that way.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Well, that was my concern because once in a while,
- 6:17Speaker 3: like Kyle will accidentally turn the light off in the
- 6:20Speaker 3: bathroom when I'm showering. I'm like, oh, actually completely Dark's
- 6:24Speaker 3: kind of cool, but it could be unsafe if you
- 6:27Speaker 3: need to get out of the shower.
- 6:28Speaker 2: So you do need some light.
- 6:29Speaker 4: A little bit is very good. Hey, we do this
- 6:32Speaker 4: when we do bubble baths. Yeah, there are people who
- 6:34Speaker 4: like light candles, so it's the same idea.
- 6:37Speaker 3: But in the shower, I'm going to try to dark
- 6:39Speaker 3: shower more often.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I like that.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Just don't miss any spots.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Okay, perfect, good point. Coming out next year with Toby
- 6:45Speaker 2: and Tilly in the Morning.
- 6:46Speaker 3: We've got top stories for your Friday morning as we
- 6:48Speaker 3: head into the weekend together. Plus we've lined up a
- 6:51Speaker 3: bunch of music for your Friday drive in, so we
- 6:53Speaker 3: hope you'll stay with us here on ninety seven point
- 6:55Speaker 3: one wash FM, New Kids on the Block for Friday Morning,
- 7:00Speaker 3: getting us ready for our best of the eighties weekend

- 7:59Speaker 4: hundred and eight eighteen signatures needed, House Speaker Mike Johnson
- 8:03Speaker 4: is required to put the bill on the floor soon.
- 8:06Speaker 4: The FAA is keeping some flights frozen until things get
- 8:09Speaker 4: back to normal after the government reopened. Flights have been
- 8:14Speaker 4: cut because of staffing shortages. Johns Hopkins University announced that
- 8:18Speaker 4: beginning in twenty twenty six, it's going to eliminate tuition
- 8:22Speaker 4: for undergraduate students from families earning up to two hundred
- 8:25Speaker 4: thousand dollars a year, and it's funded largely by Michael
- 8:29Speaker 4: Bloomberg's one point eight billion dollar gift. Students from families
- 8:34Speaker 4: who make under one hundred thousand dollars will receive enough
- 8:37Speaker 4: aid to cover tuition fees and living expenses. Louden County
- 8:43Speaker 4: Schools enrollment has dropped to about eighty thousand, six hundred students,
- 8:47Speaker 4: which is the lowest since twenty sixteen, and it's expected
- 8:51Speaker 4: to keep declining into the next decade. Now despite having
- 8:54Speaker 4: a similar number of students as they did ten years ago,
- 8:57Speaker 4: the district's proposed budget now exceeds two billion dollars, which
- 9:01Speaker 4: is more than double what it was a decade earlier.
- 9:05Speaker 4: The Washington commanders have chosen Dallas based HKS as the
- 9:10Speaker 4: architect for the new stadium in DC. HKS, who's known
- 9:14Speaker 4: for designing Sofi Stadium and AT and T Stadium, is
- 9:18Speaker 4: going to start meeting with local community members to gather input.
- 9:22Speaker 4: Dorito's and Cheetos are getting a new look as PepsiCo
- 9:25Speaker 4: unveils simply naked versions that are made without any artificial
- 9:30Speaker 4: colors or flavors. The updated sacks will hit store shelves
- 9:35Speaker 4: on December first at A recent study ranked the best
- 9:39Speaker 4: US cities for dogs, and they considered factors like dog
- 9:42Speaker 4: friendly housing, parks, local laws, and also the cost of
- 9:45Speaker 4: training and boarding. Frederick, Maryland was named the most dog
- 9:50Speaker 4: friendly city in the entire country. Forecast for today partly
- 9:54Speaker 4: cloudy skies. Highs around fifty eight right now, thirty two Inlantam.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Right thanks a lot chili coming up next here. How
- 10:01Speaker 3: much would you be willing to pay for an accessory
- 10:03Speaker 3: that holds your phone? We'll tell you what the internet
- 10:06Speaker 3: is buzzing about this morning. Why some people are saying
- 10:09Speaker 3: this new fashion trend.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Needs to go away. That's next.
- 10:14Speaker 3: There Yo getting excited for our best of the eighties
- 10:16Speaker 3: weekend with Tina Turner on ninety seven point one wash FM.
- 10:20Speaker 3: All starts today at five with Toby and Chilly.
- 10:22Speaker 2: In the morning.
- 10:23Speaker 3: I'm kiddo'she There is a new trend on the internet
- 10:27Speaker 3: when it comes to where you put your phone, specifically
- 10:31Speaker 3: your iPhone.
- 10:32Speaker 4: So they've launched Apple has this iPhone pocket they're calling it.
- 10:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:39Speaker 4: It is a case that looks like a sock with
- 10:44Speaker 4: a strap attached to it for your phone. It is hideous.
- 10:48Speaker 4: There is a little tiny opening where your phone can
- 10:52Speaker 4: peek through from the side, and it comes in two
- 10:56Speaker 4: lengths strap lengths. The short strap is one hundred and
- 10:59Speaker 4: fifty dollars what and then the long crossbody style is
- 11:03Speaker 4: two hundred and thirty dollars. It's got a bunch of
- 11:06Speaker 4: different colors. Yeah, and it's going to be available now.
- 11:10Speaker 4: It's available now.
- 11:11Speaker 5: Now.
- 11:11Speaker 3: I wonder if the young hip kids know this fashion
- 11:14Speaker 3: designer and it's going to be one of those things
- 11:16Speaker 3: that you have to have. But as you look at it, Chili, yeah,
- 11:20Speaker 3: are you looking at this item and saying this is
- 11:23Speaker 3: something I could see myself using for my phone? I
- 11:26Speaker 3: absolutely need to get this. It's going on my Christmas list.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Don my husband better get this for me. Fat chance
- 11:31Speaker 3: not happening. I don't even care if it showed up
- 11:34Speaker 3: on team for two bucks. It ain't coming to my house.
- 11:36Speaker 6: Shelby and Chili's nearly impossible.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Questions, at least not this Christmas?
- 11:40Speaker 5: All right?
- 11:40Speaker 2: What is today's question?
- 11:42Speaker 4: More people worldwide own this than they own a toothbrush?
- 11:48Speaker 3: What is it planning for tickets to see Journey at
- 11:51Speaker 3: Capitol one Arena eight sixty six nine two seven four
- 11:54Speaker 3: three six one eight sixty six wash FM one. Grab
- 11:58Speaker 3: those Journey tickets if you can answer the ques question correctly.
- 12:00Speaker 3: What's that question?
- 12:01Speaker 2: Again?
- 12:01Speaker 4: More people worldwide own one of these than they own
- 12:05Speaker 4: a toothbrush. It is something that you probably are carrying
- 12:08Speaker 4: with you right now.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Interesting. I love the little clue there.
- 12:12Speaker 3: We'll have the answer to the nearly impossible question coming
- 12:15Speaker 3: up next with Toby and Chili on ninety seven point
- 12:17Speaker 3: one wash fl Toby and Chili's nearly Impossible question, and
- 12:22Speaker 3: I'm kiddoshe in for Toby. We are playing for tickets
- 12:25Speaker 3: to see Journey at Capitol One Arena.
- 12:28Speaker 2: What is today's question?
- 12:30Speaker 4: More people worldwide own one of these and they do
- 12:34Speaker 4: a toothbrush? What are we talking about?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Eight six six nine two seven four three six one.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Good morning, Glenn, how are you today? Thanks for listening
- 12:43Speaker 4: to Arlington.
- 12:44Speaker 5: Good morning, I'm good.
- 12:46Speaker 3: How are you?
- 12:47Speaker 6: I'm doing well.
- 12:47Speaker 4: It is Friday. How can I not be good?
- 12:50Speaker 5: You know that's true.
- 12:51Speaker 6: Good weekend.
- 12:53Speaker 4: We're going to try to make it a little bit
- 12:54Speaker 4: better for you. You've got the question, what do you
- 12:56Speaker 4: think The answer is.
- 12:57Speaker 5: I think it's probably a cell phone.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Okay, so you think there are more people in the
- 13:02Speaker 4: world that own a cell phone than a toothbrush.
- 13:07Speaker 5: Unfortunately, Yes, that.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Is the correct answer.
- 13:11Speaker 3: You know.
- 13:12Speaker 5: I went out with a guy once and I found
- 13:14Speaker 5: out that he shared a toothbrush with his roommate. Which
- 13:17Speaker 5: is gross. That is so, there's no world in which
- 13:20Speaker 5: he would share a cell phone with a roommate, So
- 13:22Speaker 5: it seemed like a fair answer.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Your personal experience came in very handy. You got these
- 13:28Speaker 4: tickets to go see Journey at Capitol An Arena March fourth,

- 17:39Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm big point every day to take go in.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Thank you very much.
- 17:45Speaker 4: You're very welcome. Your persistence paid off. Leila. You're gonna
- 17:48Speaker 4: go see the TSO at caval One Arena December thirtieth,
- 17:52Speaker 4: thanks to our friends at Live Nation.
- 17:54Speaker 6: Hey, thank you very very much.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Thank you for listening to Toby and Chilly in the
- 17:58Speaker 4: Morning on ninety seven point one wash FF.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 18:04Speaker 3: It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning, ninety seven point
- 18:06Speaker 3: one wash FM getting through a Friday together and on
- 18:09Speaker 3: this Friday morning, it's time for our feel Good Friday story.
- 18:12Speaker 4: In case you missed it. Earlier this week, Prince George's
- 18:15Speaker 4: County leaders they opened the doors to a new workforce
- 18:19Speaker 4: training center in Bowie at the former Kenhill Center, which
- 18:24Speaker 4: was once Bouie's City Hall, and the center is now
- 18:27Speaker 4: part of a broader effort across the county to help
- 18:29Speaker 4: residents navigate a shifting job market and also help them
- 18:33Speaker 4: build skills that employers are looking for. So visitors can
- 18:37Speaker 4: access a free computer lab there, complete online skills assessments,
- 18:42Speaker 4: and also take advantages of a variety of training programs,
- 18:45Speaker 4: from resume building and interview preparation to technical and professional
- 18:49Speaker 4: courses that are offered through the Prince George's County Employment Network.
- 18:54Speaker 4: The center also provides personalized career guidance to help people
- 18:57Speaker 4: who are looking for jobs map out their next step,
- 19:00Speaker 4: whether that's landing a new role, advancing their current career,
- 19:03Speaker 4: or exploring entirely new fields. So this Booy location, by
- 19:07Speaker 4: the way, is the third such center in the county,
- 19:11Speaker 4: and it joins others in Largo and National Harbor, with
- 19:14Speaker 4: plans to expand even further so that all twenty seven
- 19:18Speaker 4: municipalities have accessible training hubs. And the goal is very
- 19:22Speaker 4: clear here. They want to make the workforce development very practical,
- 19:26Speaker 4: local and approachable, giving their residents the tools and confidence
- 19:29Speaker 4: that they need to thrive in today's economy. So thank
- 19:33Speaker 4: you so much for giving us a story that makes
- 19:35Speaker 4: us feel good. You can read more about this new
- 19:38Speaker 4: center on the Toby and Chili page at waschefm dot com.
- 19:41Speaker 3: All right, Chili, thank you for sharing that with us
- 19:43Speaker 3: on this Friday morning. Coming up next, a local boutique
- 19:46Speaker 3: is offering mom recharge ours this holiday season. Oh yes,
- 19:51Speaker 3: Chili is going to share with us how this works
- 19:53Speaker 3: and talk to the woman behind it all next with
- 19:55Speaker 3: Toby and Chili in the Morning on ninety seven point
- 19:58Speaker 3: one WASCHEFL.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Ninety seven point every one wash FM. It's Toby and
- 20:01Speaker 4: Chilly in the Morning. I'm Chilli, Amar and you know,
- 20:05Speaker 4: a recent report found that seventy percent of moms feel
- 20:09Speaker 4: overstimulated during the holidays, which is a reminder that while
- 20:13Speaker 4: moms are busy making the magic happen, they rarely get
- 20:16Speaker 4: a chance to stop and enjoy this time of year
- 20:19Speaker 4: for themselves. And that is exactly what inspired a local
- 20:23Speaker 4: mom and business owner named Dana Dorrier, who owns Apricot
- 20:29Speaker 4: Lane Boutiques. There's one in McLain and Potomac and she
- 20:33Speaker 4: has created mom Recharge Hours throughout the month of November.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Good morning, Dana, tell us what inspired you to do this.
- 20:44Speaker 7: I have three elementary school aged kids, so I know
- 20:48Speaker 7: how busy the time of years with family obligations and
- 20:52Speaker 7: also school obligations and kid obligations and work parties and
- 20:55Speaker 7: all the things, and we wanted to do something where
- 20:57Speaker 7: they could come in and have kind of a recharge
- 21:00Speaker 7: event and do something for themselves. Everyone has to do
- 21:04Speaker 7: some shopping this time of year, whether you're shopping for
- 21:06Speaker 7: gifts or for yourself, and so this can kind of
- 21:09Speaker 7: take the stress out of that and make it a
- 21:10Speaker 7: nice relaxing evening. So we're doing kind of private shopping nights.
- 21:15Speaker 7: It'll be kind of just you and your friends or
- 21:18Speaker 7: your family in a common environment where things are catered
- 21:21Speaker 7: towards you.
- 21:21Speaker 4: And once they make that reservation, what can they expect
- 21:25Speaker 4: when they come in.
- 21:26Speaker 7: We're doing some light refreshments, we can change the music
- 21:29Speaker 7: so what you guys want. We have stilists so we
- 21:33Speaker 7: can do stiling sessions or trend reports so people can
- 21:36Speaker 7: kind of help, really personalize, help with whatever your group need.
- 21:40Speaker 4: What's some of the reaction that you've gotten from moms
- 21:42Speaker 4: who've taken advantage of this.
- 21:44Speaker 6: They love it.
- 21:45Speaker 7: I will say during this holiday season, with everything that's
- 21:48Speaker 7: been so stressful this year, I think for people, we've
- 21:51Speaker 7: just heard people saying it's so nice to be able
- 21:54Speaker 7: to come in and take some time with their girlfriends.
- 21:56Speaker 7: Because also I think as moms, it's really hard for
- 21:59Speaker 7: us to carve out time.
- 22:00Speaker 4: I'm Burt Belt it certainly is. Thanks so much again
- 22:02Speaker 4: for joining us, Dana who is the owner of Apricot
- 22:06Speaker 4: Lane Boutiques, And if you want to make a reservation,
- 22:09Speaker 4: we're going to make it easy for you. You can find
- 22:12Speaker 4: the Instagram pages for the boutique by going to the
- 22:17Speaker 4: Toby and Chili page at waschefm dot com. Coming up next,
- 22:21Speaker 4: we're going to get you updated on all the news
- 22:23Speaker 4: headlines with Toby and Chili's Top Stories on ninety seven

- 23:22Speaker 3: for our Best of the Eighties weekend, let's do a
- 23:24Speaker 3: little preview now with Wham Our Best of the Eighties
- 23:27Speaker 3: weekend kicks off today at five on ninety seven point
- 23:29Speaker 3: one wash FM.
- 23:33Speaker 6: Top Stories Top of the Hour.
- 23:35Speaker 4: The FAA continues to keep some flights frozen until things
- 23:38Speaker 4: get back to normal. After the government shutdown ended, there's
- 23:42Speaker 4: still about six hundred flights that have been cut today
- 23:45Speaker 4: because of staffing shortages. JOHNS. Hopkins University announced that beginning
- 23:50Speaker 4: next year, it will eliminate tuition for undergraduate students from
- 23:54Speaker 4: families that earn up to two hundred thousand dollars a year,
- 23:57Speaker 4: funded largely by Michael Bloomberg's one point eight billion dollar gift. Now,
- 24:03Speaker 4: students from families who make under one hundred thousand dollars
- 24:06Speaker 4: will receive enough aid to cover tuition, fees and living expenses.
- 24:11Speaker 4: The Washington Commanders have chosen Dallas based HKS as the
- 24:16Speaker 4: architect for the new DC Stadium. HKS, known for designing
- 24:21Speaker 4: Sofi Stadium and AT and T Stadium, will begin meeting
- 24:24Speaker 4: with local community members to gather input now. Former Commander's
- 24:29Speaker 4: owner Dan Snyder and his wife donated their Potomac riverfront
- 24:33Speaker 4: mansion to the American Cancer Society, which is now auctioning
- 24:38Speaker 4: it off to fund cancer research and patient support. That
- 24:42Speaker 4: auction will run December fifth through December eighteenth. Volunteers are
- 24:48Speaker 4: needed for weekend trash cleanups in northern Virginia. This includes
- 24:53Speaker 4: the Mount Vernon Trail, Dangerfield Island four mile run, and
- 24:57Speaker 4: also local streams that feed the Patrol Syoma and Chesapeake Bay.
- 25:01Speaker 4: So participants are going to be meeting tomorrow at eleven
- 25:04Speaker 4: am at the Virginia Square GMU Metro Station. And according
- 25:09Speaker 4: to a recent survey, eighty percent of adults say they
- 25:13Speaker 4: miss simpler times when we only had four TV channels
- 25:17Speaker 4: and in person conversations. Many folks also miss paying with cash,
- 25:22Speaker 4: phone calls, chatting with store clerks, milk delivery, and renting
- 25:27Speaker 4: VHS tapes. Still, thirty nine percent say life is better today.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Forecast for today partly cloudy skies with highs in the
- 25:36Speaker 4: upper fifties. Right now thirty eight in silver spring, All.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Right, chilly, thanks a lot. I'm kidd o'shee coming up next.
- 25:43Speaker 3: If you've ever had to make a big life decision,
- 25:46Speaker 3: you'll be able to relate to what I went through
- 25:48Speaker 3: this week. I'll share that big decision with you and
- 25:50Speaker 3: the lesson I learned. Next, Toby and chilly in the morning,
- 25:54Speaker 3: ninety seven point one wash FM. Good morning, I'm kidd o'sha.
- 25:58Speaker 3: If you've ever had to make a big life decision,
- 26:01Speaker 3: you know how tough that can be.
- 26:03Speaker 2: I'm with you. I went through it this week.
- 26:04Speaker 3: If you missed it earlier this week on Good Morning Washington,
- 26:07Speaker 3: I made this announcement well before we go.
- 26:09Speaker 8: This morning, I have a little personal news to share
- 26:11Speaker 8: with you. After an incredible run here at Good Morning Washington,
- 26:14Speaker 8: I'll be saying goodbye at the end of November. I've
- 26:17Speaker 8: accepted a new opportunity back home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- 26:20Speaker 4: Oh, you're leaving us.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I'm leaving you.
- 26:23Speaker 4: You're gonna be leaving us going home to Wisconsin news.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Is it something I said?
- 26:28Speaker 3: Naturally, you sadly know you're making it harder to leave.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Of course, my family here at WASHFM as well, and
- 26:36Speaker 3: a decade here in DC, which really you know, when
- 26:40Speaker 3: I first came here, I thought I'll be here for
- 26:42Speaker 3: about a year, they'll figure out I don't know what
- 26:43Speaker 3: I'm doing and send me back. But it lasted to
- 26:46Speaker 3: ten years. And hey, my parents are in their mid
- 26:49Speaker 3: seventies and they're healthy, and I think anybody that's lucky
- 26:52Speaker 3: enough to have both their parents around. You know how
- 26:55Speaker 3: precious that time is. And so I'm at a point
- 26:58Speaker 3: in my life where it's like that is the number
- 27:00Speaker 3: one priority for me, my partner, Kyle, and Biggie to
- 27:04Speaker 3: be closer to family, so we can do that.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Yeah, this job came up and I couldn't pass it down.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Now you're gonna be doing TV and still some radio
- 27:12Speaker 4: out in Wisconsin. And I think what you brought up
- 27:16Speaker 4: is very valid because most people who live in the
- 27:18Speaker 4: DC area do not live where their parents are, where
- 27:21Speaker 4: their family is. And if you ever did have an
- 27:23Speaker 4: opportunity to go back home, I think a lot of
- 27:26Speaker 4: people would do the same thing. I'm look, I've been
- 27:29Speaker 4: born and raised in the DC area. I will not
- 27:32Speaker 4: leave because my village is here. So I totally get
- 27:36Speaker 4: why you want to go back to being near your sister,
- 27:39Speaker 4: your nephew's nieces, the whole gang. And I mean, we're
- 27:42Speaker 4: gonna miss you around here when you leave.
- 27:44Speaker 2: I'm going to miss you guys.
- 27:45Speaker 3: But if there's one lesson I learned during all of this,
- 27:48Speaker 3: it was exactly what you said. It was go with
- 27:50Speaker 3: your gut, Go with what your gut's telling you, and
- 27:52Speaker 3: that's to get back home closer to family.
- 27:54Speaker 4: And you know what, you can always come back.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Chilli ninety seven point one and wash FM with Toby
- 28:01Speaker 4: and Chilly in the morning. I'm Chilly Omar. We want
- 28:04Speaker 4: you to be here right around a twenty Monday morning
- 28:08Speaker 4: where we are gonna make a very special holiday announcement
- 28:13Speaker 4: and all your questions regarding music will be answered. Again.
- 28:19Speaker 4: That's a twenty Monday morning, one thousand.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Dollars work day pay day can help out just in
- 28:24Speaker 3: time for the holidays.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Make sure you're listening right around nine to ten this morning,
- 28:28Speaker 4: Jenny Chase. We'll have your first keyword then, which you'll
- 28:31Speaker 4: hiner at washfm dot com.
- 28:33Speaker 3: That's coming up with Toby and Chile in the Morning
- 28:35Speaker 3: on ninety seven point one wash FM. Right now, a
- 28:38Speaker 3: preview of our Best of the eighties weekend with Belinda
- 28:41Speaker 3: carlyon Toby and Chile in the Morning, ninety seven point
- 28:45Speaker 3: one wash FM Workday Payday for one thousand bucks coming
- 28:48Speaker 3: up at nine ten with Jenny Chase. Right now, it's
- 28:51Speaker 3: time for our morning mindset.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Okay, so because it is our best of the eighties
- 28:55Speaker 4: weekend at five o'clock today, we are choosing a lyric
- 28:58Speaker 4: from the song Glasses at Night by Corey Hart, and
- 29:01Speaker 4: in it he says, I wear my sunglasses at night
- 29:04Speaker 4: so I can, So I can. It's like saying I'm
- 29:09Speaker 4: choosing to face the world on my own terms, even
- 29:12Speaker 4: when things are unclear or challenging.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I love that, Chili.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Now let's enjoy this song from Corey Hart and kind
- 29:19Speaker 3: of think about that a little bit as well. I
- 29:21Speaker 3: have a great weekend, Chilli and I are back with
- 29:23Speaker 3: you next week on ninety seven point one washef M.
