- Najah: How many family members are you still dealing with just because you love their kids? yeah, I'm finna go there. You don't even have a good relationship with them. But you love your nieces and nephews. And you want the kids to stay connected to their cousins, right? And I get it. Because I did that. And it did not work for me. People love to say the kids ain't got nothing to do with it. And let's keep the kids out of it. And you're right. The kids don't have nothing to do with it. And that's exactly why we're not finna use them as a bridge to keep adults connected. And listen, the kids didn't get to choose their parents. But kids and parents are a package deal. And that's just what it is. See for me, trying to maintain separate relationships through the kids only caused more turmoil. It kept doors cracked that needed to be closed. And it created more room for little games that I'm not finna play. I learned my lesson. That wasn't a good idea then... and I'm not finna convince myself it's a good idea now. If staying connected to the children of people you don't mess with works for you, cool. That ain't working over here. And the same goes for my kids. If you don't mess with me, you don't mess with them either. And I don't wanna hear that. so you gonna keep the kids for me? Yes, yes I am. If I wanna keep myself from you, I'm keeping my children from you too. You're cut off from all of us. Goodbye. And nobody is punishing the children. I'm accepting the reality that the parent and the child come together. And I'm no longer keeping unhealthy relationships alive just to keep the kids connected. And me personally, I could love anybody and still let them go. So I wish you and your kids a great life. I do. And as for me and mine, we'll be fine without ya.
