- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to the program for the first time, Mr. John Higgins.
- 0:06Speaker 1: It's John Higgins, everybody.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I'm so, so happy to be here, Joelle.
- 0:10Speaker 1: That's Joelle Monique. And Joelle Monique, you remember Ava Bunn?
- 0:13Speaker 3: Hi, Joelle.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Of course.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Hi, Ganeva.
- 0:15Speaker 4: Lovely to see you.
- 0:16Speaker 5: Hi.
- 0:17Speaker 6: Ava, you wanted to wear, you mentioned that you might
- 0:19Speaker 6: wear a full, what were you going to wear, a body?
- 0:22Speaker 3: A nude morph suit.
- 0:23Speaker 1: A nude morph suit.
- 0:24Speaker 4: What is that?
- 0:25Speaker 1: And explain that to the audience, for people who are
- 0:27Speaker 1: listening and to me. And to me.
- 0:28Speaker 7: So it's a nude morph suit that covers your fingers
- 0:34Speaker 7: and toes and just leaves out the.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Head, the face.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And it kind of just makes you look like a fetus?
- 0:39Speaker 7: Yeah, it just kind of makes you look like a fetus.
- 0:41Speaker 7: But the character that I do with it is Gilroy.
- 0:45Speaker 8: Let's meet Gilroy.
- 0:48Speaker 4: I'm afraid to meet Gilroy. I want to meet Gilroy.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Gilroy.
- 0:51Speaker 3: And Gilroy is just looking for a slice of gam.
- 0:56Speaker 4: What?
- 0:58Speaker 5: Slice of gum.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I think it's good you didn't bring Gilroy because it
- 1:01Speaker 1: would have been hard to sit here and have a serious,
- 1:04Speaker 1: even humorous conversation with you in a full body onesie.
- 1:07Speaker 4: I would have loved it.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Gilroy might appear later.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Okay, maybe in future podcasts.
- 1:12Speaker 2: It'd be funny, like minute 30 talking to Gilroy.
- 1:15Speaker 1: You know, we should do it just all of a sudden,
- 1:18Speaker 1: like without addressing it in the audience for the last
- 1:20Speaker 1: like 15 minutes she's in the suit.
- 1:22Speaker 8: Switch.
- 1:23Speaker 2: She brought it.
- 1:23Speaker 5: I brought it.
- 1:24Speaker 3: It's in my car.
- 1:24Speaker 9: Did you really?
- 1:25Speaker 3: It's in my car.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Okay, this might have to happen. I was like, oh,
- 1:28Speaker 4: you didn't bring it. And I was like, oh, yeah,
- 1:29Speaker 4: she brought it.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I was on Rick Glassman's podcast and I brought a
- 1:33Speaker 1: few different shirts because I was like, I don't know
- 1:35Speaker 1: what's going to look best. You tell me what will
- 1:37Speaker 1: look best. And he goes, why don't we do a
- 1:39Speaker 1: thing where just without addressing it, we both switch our
- 1:42Speaker 1: clothes four times.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Throughout the episode.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And I go, really? He goes, yeah. And we did that. Yeah.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Four different times. We just both changed our full outfits.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Did anybody say anything?
- 1:51Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 1: In the comments, people were like, what the fuck's going on?
- 1:54Speaker 4: It's so funny.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Well, John, welcome to the show. I got to say.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Welcome. Listen, let's give the man the props he deserves.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Thunderous applause.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Thunderous applause.
- 2:05Speaker 9: Thank you.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Thunderous applause, baby.
- 2:07Speaker 1: John, you are such a great addition to the show.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I'm having so much fun working with you.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Me too. I am so thankful to be a part
- 2:14Speaker 2: of this. It's so amazing, truly.
- 2:16Speaker 1: You can riff. For those of you who don't know,
- 2:18Speaker 1: John is in a troupe called Please Don't Destroy.
- 2:20Speaker 7: Yep.
- 2:21Speaker 1: And they were on SNL as a troupe for a while.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And you still tour with these guys, right?
- 2:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Well, we've been shooting in Vancouver. I've been going back
- 2:28Speaker 2: and forth to, you know, wherever we've been doing shows.
- 2:30Speaker 2: And yeah, we still tour.
- 2:32Speaker 1: It's so fun working with you because you're very quick.
- 2:35Speaker 1: And I love how you riff and I love doing
- 2:39Speaker 1: scenes with you because we just come up with such
- 2:40Speaker 1: silly shit. And some of it doesn't make it because
- 2:42Speaker 1: it's bad shit. And some of it, it reminds me
- 2:45Speaker 1: of when I used to work with Neil Flynn because
- 2:47Speaker 1: we would just riff stuff. And some of it would
- 2:49Speaker 1: be like, this is insane. And some of it would
- 2:51Speaker 1: be like, well, this is not going to make the show,
- 2:53Speaker 1: but it's funny. And then it would make the show.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And then people would love it. And we'd be like, wow, okay.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I feel that I'm having that kind of fun when
- 3:01Speaker 1: you and I are doing our thing.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I feel that way about all of you guys so much.
- 3:05Speaker 2: We went to that dinner, I think, for Spiller's birthday,
- 3:07Speaker 2: who was one of the directors.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Our directing producer, yeah.
- 3:10Speaker 2: And we all went around, and it was like the
- 3:12Speaker 2: second week I was here, and we all went around
- 3:15Speaker 2: and said something nice about Spiller, and you guys have
- 3:17Speaker 2: known him forever. And I didn't know what I was
- 3:19Speaker 2: going to say, but then I remembered this quote, and
- 3:21Speaker 2: I think of it as so true of, there's not
- 3:23Speaker 2: a word yet for old friends who you just met.
- 3:25Speaker 2: And I really felt that way about you guys because
- 3:27Speaker 2: you just like took me in immediately and I felt
- 3:29Speaker 2: a part of this like family and it was like,
- 3:31Speaker 2: thank you.
- 3:32Speaker 4: No, thank you, man. You jumped right in. You jumped
- 3:34Speaker 4: into the deep end too and swam very, very easily.
- 3:40Speaker 4: It was like you were born to be on this show.
- 3:42Speaker 1: And we do have to credit Uncle Bill Lawrence.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Yes.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Because Bill Lawrence is a big fan of John Higgins.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I love Bill. And Bill Lawrence is a good friend
- 3:50Speaker 1: to have, you guys.
- 3:51Speaker 10: Yes.
- 3:52Speaker 2: One of the most important friends you could ever have.
- 3:54Speaker 1: He's a pretty darn good friend to have. Donald and
- 3:56Speaker 1: I have hitched our wagons to the Bill Lawrence cart.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Yes, I've been holding on.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Holding on tight.
- 4:03Speaker 4: I've been holding on.
- 4:04Speaker 1: But it was Bill in this season who had this
- 4:08Speaker 1: idea that just the way J.D. was a thorn in
- 4:13Speaker 1: Cox's side, that what if there was someone underneath J.D.?
- 4:17Speaker 1: who was also, you know, was obviously a source of
- 4:20Speaker 1: conflict for him, who was a thorn in his side,
- 4:22Speaker 1: who kind of, in a way that would drive J.D. crazy,
- 4:25Speaker 1: you know. And so not only was that seed of
- 4:30Speaker 1: that character Bill's idea, but then when we started talking
- 4:33Speaker 1: about people, he really championed wanting John Higgins to join
- 4:37Speaker 1: the show because he finds you hilarious.
- 4:39Speaker 2: That's so amazing.
- 4:40Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Thank you, Uncle Bill.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Thank you, Uncle Bill. Thank you, Uncle Bill.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Thank you, Uncle Bill.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Ava.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Well, Ava. What? Ava has also benefited from having Bill
- 4:51Speaker 1: be a big fan of her. All right. Let's count
- 4:53Speaker 1: us in, Donald.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 4:56Speaker 8: Hey.
- 5:00Speaker 10: Welcome to episode 206, as we say in the business,
- 5:05Speaker 10: or episode 6 of season 2 of The Revival.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It's Halloween. At Sacred Heart.
- 5:31Speaker 4: So I want to put out there that this episode
- 5:33Speaker 4: that we've seen is to time and not cut to locked.
- 5:39Speaker 4: What I saw was to time. Does that mean it's locked? Yeah.
- 5:42Speaker 1: What you saw should be 2130 and that means it's locked. Okay.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Then never mind. Okay. then never mind.
- 5:49Speaker 2: There might be things in it that aren't... Were you
- 5:51Speaker 2: looking for edits on stuff?
- 5:52Speaker 4: Yeah, well, that's the thing. I get a lot of
- 5:55Speaker 4: shows now, and this... A new era has unfortunately begun
- 6:00Speaker 4: where Donald, as an EP, has access to early cuts
- 6:03Speaker 4: of the show. And I get texts like.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Don't leave that in. You're not going.
- 6:07Speaker 4: To leave that in, are you? You're not going to
- 6:09Speaker 4: leave that in. Don't take this out.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yeah, or more often, don't take this out.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Don't take this out.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Well, this one was really funny. My first thing I
- 6:22Speaker 1: wanted to say was that Rafi being death, there was
- 6:25Speaker 1: another beat that had to get cut.
- 6:27Speaker 8: Yes.
- 6:28Speaker 1: But that's when Rafi walked up to an old woman
- 6:30Speaker 1: and she said, and he was wearing his death costume,
- 6:33Speaker 1: and she said, please not tonight. I have tickets for
- 6:37Speaker 1: Les Mis.
- 6:37Speaker 2: It was so good.
- 6:41Speaker 4: And, uh, right.
- 6:42Speaker 1: And Rafi, uh, uh, see, this is something that we
- 6:45Speaker 1: all laughed at on the day, but had to go
- 6:47Speaker 1: for time.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Well, all right. So there's a couple of things that
- 6:49Speaker 4: happened in this. It's a Halloween episode. First of all,
- 6:52Speaker 4: And not only is it the Halloween episode, we learn
- 6:55Speaker 4: that Grant does not like Halloween.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yes, right off the bat.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Right away. That's one of the first things he says
- 7:01Speaker 4: when he enters. I do not like Halloween. Do you
- 7:04Speaker 4: see all these people dressed up around here, especially that
- 7:06Speaker 4: dude in the Mario outfit? He probably doesn't have good
- 7:09Speaker 4: sex with his wife. And then Turk comes in, and
- 7:12Speaker 4: Turk loves Halloween.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Loves Halloween.
- 7:15Speaker 4: And he wants the Mario costume. He thinks that costume's amazing.
- 7:18Speaker 1: He hopes they have it in double X.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Right, because Turk's big.
- 7:25Speaker 1: And JD's mourning Charlie and getting coaching right away from everyone,
- 7:30Speaker 1: especially Turk and Carla, saying, dude, this is the perfect holiday.
- 7:34Speaker 1: There's a buffet of booty everywhere. You can get over
- 7:37Speaker 1: Charlie with a mindless crush.
- 7:39Speaker 4: What is that about Halloween that it turns into that?
- 7:42Speaker 4: Because when you're kids, Halloween's about, you know, do I
- 7:46Speaker 4: got a really dope outfit on? But at the end
- 7:49Speaker 4: of the night, someone has a really dope outfit on
- 7:51Speaker 4: and everybody else has kind of lame outfits on, if
- 7:53Speaker 4: you ask me.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Let's just keep it a buck.
- 7:57Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 4: How come Halloween has turned into that? For some reason,
- 8:01Speaker 4: there's a group of people that dress really provocative.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I think it's fun for people who get
- 8:07Speaker 1: a chance to have permission to say, like, tonight's the
- 8:11Speaker 1: night I'm going to... Yeah, I'm going to be sexy.
- 8:14Speaker 7: Do you feel this pressure to be funny on Halloween?
- 8:17Speaker 7: Where it's like, I'm like, oh, God. It's like, I
- 8:19Speaker 7: have to do a whole bit.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Penny!
- 8:22Speaker 1: There's Penny.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Come on in, babe.
- 8:24Speaker 8: But.
- 8:25Speaker 3: And then one.
- 8:27Speaker 7: One Halloween I thought it would be funny if I
- 8:30Speaker 7: dressed up as really sexy and I was like that
- 8:33Speaker 7: would be so funny because no one would expect it
- 8:35Speaker 7: but then I realized.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Oh like your friends would think.
- 8:39Speaker 7: Of it they'd be like what the hell but then
- 8:41Speaker 7: I realized it's not that funny it's not funny.
- 8:45Speaker 1: And cold I always feel when I see the women
- 8:49Speaker 1: who are scantily clad I'm like they must be so cold.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Wait how did you realize that it wasn't funny Well,
- 8:55Speaker 4: because then I was like in my bathroom. Friends tried
- 8:58Speaker 4: to hook up.
- 8:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I was.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Like, wait, I was just friends here.
- 9:02Speaker 5: What?
- 9:03Speaker 3: No, I was just standing in my bathroom looking at
- 9:05Speaker 3: myself like, this isn't me.
- 9:06Speaker 1: What was your costume? Yeah, what was your sexy costume?
- 9:10Speaker 3: I was going to dress up like a sexy girl.
- 9:12Speaker 5: That was my costume.
- 9:15Speaker 3: It was just like sexy girl.
- 9:17Speaker 4: That's not a.
- 9:17Speaker 2: White dress or something.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Ava, it's usually.
- 9:20Speaker 4: We should all guess. What's a sexy girl all about?
- 9:22Speaker 1: No, but I mean, Ava, it's usually a sexy.
- 9:26Speaker 4: Snow White.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Sexy Snow White.
- 9:27Speaker 3: It was just like, oh, I'll be sexy girl. Oh,
- 9:30Speaker 3: and then....
- 9:34Speaker 7: And then this is what was messed up. I had
- 9:36Speaker 7: a boyfriend at the time and I was like, oh,
- 9:38Speaker 7: let's like... dress up as he's he's the horse and
- 9:42Speaker 7: i'm the cow girl and that'll be so cute.
- 9:45Speaker 3: And he wore a full horse head like covering.
- 9:48Speaker 4: His face this is a great costume great costume.
- 9:50Speaker 7: That's good and i was a cute little cow girl
- 9:52Speaker 7: and girls kept hitting on him and didn't even notice
- 9:54Speaker 7: me and they just went straight and i was like
- 9:55Speaker 7: you can't even see his face because he's tall.
- 9:58Speaker 4: And that's all he needed to do was tall and
- 10:01Speaker 4: a horse and.
- 10:02Speaker 1: They can use their imagination like I bet there's a
- 10:04Speaker 1: really hot guy under that horse head.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Yes that's what it is they put their.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Own image on them they're like a fool I was
- 10:10Speaker 2: Flava Flav for Halloween what? when I was in fourth
- 10:13Speaker 2: grade yeah no way And I tried to pull up
- 10:16Speaker 2: the picture, but he was quick. He was in and out,
- 10:18Speaker 2: so I couldn't show it.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Oh, when you met him here on Scrubs?
- 10:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:22Speaker 1: My go-to these days, because it's very easy, is Ray Gunn,
- 10:25Speaker 1: the Australian female breakdancer. That's great. Because I ordered the
- 10:28Speaker 1: full outfit, the Australian breakdancing uniform. I have ordered that online,
- 10:33Speaker 1: and it's hanging in my closet. I never have to worry.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I can always be Ray Gunn. It's perfect. All you
- 10:37Speaker 1: got to do is just go like this, and people
- 10:39Speaker 1: know who you are. That's good.
- 10:42Speaker 2: That'll hit hard this year because she just had a documentary.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Yeah, she just had a document about her so I
- 10:46Speaker 1: say I can bring it back out.
- 10:48Speaker 4: You go hard on Halloween. Ever since I'd known you,
- 10:51Speaker 4: when that first Halloween when we went to the Playboy Mansion,
- 10:54Speaker 4: you dressed up as Dracula.
- 10:56Speaker 8: Dr.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Dracula, yeah.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Yeah, not Dr. Dracula, but Dracula. And that shit was fire.
- 11:00Speaker 4: And then one Halloween... Well, we were newly successful.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I was newly successful. And we got invited to a
- 11:07Speaker 1: Halloween party at the Playboy Mansion. I was like, I
- 11:10Speaker 1: should probably put on a good costume.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Yo, one Halloween you dressed up like me, and I
- 11:14Speaker 4: was so proud of you because you didn't go on blackface. Oh,
- 11:17Speaker 4: come on. That's nice. I was so proud of you.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Like I would ever do that.
- 11:20Speaker 4: But, you know, some people, some dumbasses.
- 11:22Speaker 1: How did I dress up like you?
- 11:24Speaker 4: I'm going to put on blackface tonight.
- 11:26Speaker 1: How was I to you?
- 11:27Speaker 4: It's Halloween.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I was like baggy clothes and a Knicks hat. What
- 11:30Speaker 1: did I wear?
- 11:31Speaker 4: No, you put on a bald cap. And this is
- 11:34Speaker 4: how you... This is when.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I was like... I think the bald cap was brown.
- 11:38Speaker 4: No, it wasn't. It was white. But this is when
- 11:40Speaker 4: I was like... There's times where I'm going to want
- 11:43Speaker 4: to punch this motherfucker in the mouth. Because you were like,
- 11:45Speaker 4: you said to me, yo, you're going to love my costume.
- 11:48Speaker 4: I'm going as the douchiest person you've ever seen in
- 11:50Speaker 4: your life. And you set me up for a week
- 11:52Speaker 4: with that shit.
- 11:53Speaker 1: That's hilarious.
- 11:54Speaker 4: You set me up for a week. And then you
- 11:55Speaker 4: walked on the set and was like, sound, this is
- 11:58Speaker 4: my level. And you did my fucking bit and everything.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 12:01Speaker 4: And I was like. This motherfucker's gonna get it one day.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I think that was just at the scrubs for a
- 12:08Speaker 1: gag with you. I don't think I wore that out
- 12:09Speaker 1: on the town.
- 12:10Speaker 4: No, but that was for Halloween. It was a Halloween... It.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Was a prank on you.
- 12:14Speaker 4: On Halloween.
- 12:15Speaker 1: That was funny, though.
- 12:16Speaker 4: It was funny.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Let's get back to the show. There's a buffet of
- 12:19Speaker 1: booty at the hospital, and then Elliot comes in saying...
- 12:24Speaker 1: Everybody come outside, and we all get very excited for
- 12:27Speaker 1: the ice cream truck.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Well, we don't know that it's ice cream truck until
- 12:30Speaker 4: we hear the music.
- 12:30Speaker 1: We hear the music. We get ice cream. We start dancing.
- 12:33Speaker 1: We're so excited. Turk says he hopes they have the
- 12:35Speaker 1: little squirrel with the bubblegum nose.
- 12:37Speaker 4: This is very much an Eddie Murphy sketch. Ice cream!
- 12:40Speaker 7: Ice cream!
- 12:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:43Speaker 1: You know the tag is on your hat. It's supposed
- 12:45Speaker 1: to be?
- 12:46Speaker 4: That's the joke.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I know, but you're doing like the key and peel
- 12:48Speaker 1: sketch right now. That's the joke, bro.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Okay, just checking.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Just checking.
- 12:52Speaker 4: It doesn't have a sticker.
- 12:53Speaker 1: It does have a sticker. It has a sticker and
- 12:55Speaker 1: a tag.
- 12:56Speaker 4: My brother made this hat.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Oh.
- 12:57Speaker 9: That's great.
- 12:58Speaker 1: That's cool. I just wanted the audience who's listening to
- 13:00Speaker 1: know that you're doing the key and peel sketch.
- 13:01Speaker 4: That's the joke, man. If I could have it in
- 13:03Speaker 4: the bag, it would be in the bag.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Okay. So ice cream, ice cream. It's not an ice
- 13:09Speaker 1: cream truck. It's a mobile healthcare clinic. Elliot is developing it.
- 13:13Speaker 4: And everybody doesn't like that.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Everybody leaves. And, uh, JD, I don't know where she
- 13:18Speaker 1: so quickly gets a chocolate squirrel with a gumball nose.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I think it's supposed to be sometime later.
- 13:24Speaker 4: It's the world of scrubs.
- 13:25Speaker 1: It's the world of scrubs. One just appears. And, um, and,
- 13:29Speaker 1: and we're off, uh, we're off to the races when JD, uh.
- 13:32Speaker 1: taste that gumball nose.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Well, her truck catches fire too. It's a piece of
- 13:35Speaker 4: shit truck.
- 13:36Speaker 1: It does also catch fire.
- 13:37Speaker 8: Right.
- 13:38Speaker 4: She has a piece of shit truck.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Yeah, she's going to have to start from scratch. Yes,
- 13:41Speaker 1: pretty much. She really bought bottom of the barrel. Yes.
- 13:44Speaker 4: But this all comes from, you know, we've been building
- 13:47Speaker 4: up to this all season long where Elliot's trying to
- 13:49Speaker 4: figure out what it is that she wants to do.
- 13:51Speaker 7: Yes.
- 13:52Speaker 4: And she's finally, she's finally found something. She doesn't know
- 13:56Speaker 4: if it's going to work, but she's invested 100% into it.
- 14:01Speaker 4: And this is something that It's very new for her,
- 14:05Speaker 4: but she's trying to make her mark.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Yeah, she's looking for her lane to really make a difference.
- 14:10Speaker 1: And this women's health care clinic is what it's going
- 14:13Speaker 1: to be. Then we come to the first act and
- 14:16Speaker 1: we learn that we've got this real jerk who is
- 14:21Speaker 1: looking for his concierge doctor. He talks about how he
- 14:25Speaker 1: owns an aeronautics company and he makes bombs and And
- 14:29Speaker 1: Dubois says the only bombs I care about are bath bombs.
- 14:34Speaker 1: And Cox is back, and he's looking quite healthy, and J.D.
- 14:37Speaker 1: is very pleased to see him, and it's because he
- 14:40Speaker 1: is going to... He's a concierge doctor. He claims that
- 14:43Speaker 1: he's bored, and he's going to be a concierge doctor
- 14:48Speaker 1: catering to the very rich.
- 14:50Speaker 4: That is a fall, bro, for Dr. Cox, if you
- 14:53Speaker 4: ask me. I know he's bored, but to me, in
- 14:57Speaker 4: seeing that, And even in the beginning of it all,
- 15:01Speaker 4: it was like, yo, you went from the hero... Like,
- 15:04Speaker 4: it's a line that Two-Face says in Batman. You either
- 15:11Speaker 4: die a hero or you live long enough to see
- 15:14Speaker 4: yourself become a villain. And now Cox has lived long
- 15:17Speaker 4: enough that his hero days are now over and he's
- 15:20Speaker 4: crossed over to pretty much the dark side, the shit
- 15:24Speaker 4: that fucking all of us in the hospital... Well, actually,
- 15:27Speaker 4: what J.D.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Started doing in season one in the pilot, that people
- 15:32Speaker 1: who work in this hospital and work their asses off
- 15:34Speaker 1: saving lives look down upon as a cash grab, as
- 15:38Speaker 1: a way of making a living that they don't respect
- 15:40Speaker 1: as much. Particularly Cox, who said, what the hell are
- 15:43Speaker 1: you doing being a concierge doctor in season one of
- 15:45Speaker 1: the revival? I trained you to be better than that.
- 15:48Speaker 1: But as we're going to learn, obviously, through the episode,
- 15:50Speaker 1: there's more to the story than that. He's not bored.
- 15:52Speaker 1: You know, I got to say, it was fascinating. Interesting
- 15:55Speaker 1: watching Johnny play sort of beta to this alpha guy
- 16:01Speaker 1: because that's just not in Johnny's nature. Yeah. As a man.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Even your voice cracked at that moment.
- 16:08Speaker 4: I got uncomfortable thinking about it.
- 16:11Speaker 1: No, I just remember thinking like John is very intense
- 16:15Speaker 1: and his performance is going to have to be, in
- 16:19Speaker 1: this character, he's going to get bossed around by another
- 16:22Speaker 1: man and degraded.
- 16:23Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And I was aware that it was going to help
- 16:27Speaker 1: John inform playing the character because he was genuinely feeling
- 16:31Speaker 1: those feelings of like, fuck this guy. And I as
- 16:36Speaker 1: John's performance is so wonderful in this episode. I think
- 16:39Speaker 1: it inevitably helped him because he did not like it
- 16:43Speaker 1: in real life or as the character.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:45Speaker 2: You can feel the friction.
- 16:46Speaker 4: It's really, really good. if you're on set, you feel
- 16:50Speaker 4: the friction.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:51Speaker 4: Like, even if you're disrespectful to the character in the show,
- 16:54Speaker 4: it's like, I don't want to fucking get the glass
- 16:57Speaker 4: that's coming my way.
- 16:58Speaker 1: When you had that in your first episode where you go,
- 17:01Speaker 1: do you ever just not, do you ever just say
- 17:03Speaker 1: one sentence and stop?
- 17:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So, which is hilarious, but no one in the world
- 17:07Speaker 1: of Scrubs speaks up to Cox like that. So, just Johnny,
- 17:12Speaker 1: for like 25 years of playing this guy, you could
- 17:14Speaker 1: see that he kind of tensed up at it. Like,
- 17:17Speaker 1: Even when we were shooting it, right?
- 17:18Speaker 4: I remember. Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 5: And I was like, dude, I didn't write it. I'm
- 17:21Speaker 5: just saying mine.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I know. I felt for Higgins because he was like,
- 17:24Speaker 1: nice to meet you.
- 17:25Speaker 4: I didn't write this. I'm such a fan of his.
- 17:28Speaker 2: And his face, his reaction was so real.
- 17:31Speaker 1: He didn't love it.
- 17:33Speaker 4: No, he did not.
- 17:33Speaker 1: No, I'm saying Johnny C didn't love it. Yeah, I know.
- 17:36Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 17:37Speaker 2: But that was the most quoted thing that people messaged
- 17:40Speaker 2: me after that because I think it must have been
- 17:41Speaker 2: surprising to see nobody's ever done that.
- 17:45Speaker 1: And here we have a whole episode where he has
- 17:48Speaker 1: to be subservient to a douchebag of a man. And
- 17:52Speaker 1: even when we did the table read, you could feel
- 17:54Speaker 1: John just like, He started cursing. He was adding curses.
- 17:58Speaker 1: He cursed.
- 17:59Speaker 4: He added. Oh, shit. Oh, God.
- 18:03Speaker 1: It's funny because for those of you who aren't in
- 18:08Speaker 1: the business of doing table reads and that kind of thing,
- 18:11Speaker 1: people will add a little line here or there or
- 18:13Speaker 1: they might add a curse even though we know obviously
- 18:15Speaker 1: there's not going to be a curse on the show.
- 18:16Speaker 1: During that table read, John added like three cursors.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Yeah, fuck.
- 18:21Speaker 1: And I remember thinking like, what's going on? Like, it's
- 18:23Speaker 1: one thing to add one fuck that we all know
- 18:25Speaker 1: won't be in the show, but he's added a couple fucks.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Yeah, there's like three of them.
- 18:30Speaker 1: And then I went, oh, he is uncomfortable, A, and B,
- 18:35Speaker 1: that's going to be good for Johnny to play.
- 18:37Speaker 4: It'll work. Yes, it'll work.
- 18:38Speaker 1: All right, good. So, what's next?
- 18:47Speaker 4: We get to the, we go to the, the, the, where, shit,
- 18:53Speaker 4: the lunchroom, the cafeteria.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Yes.
- 18:56Speaker 4: That was a fucking porky pig moment for me.
- 18:58Speaker 1: We get to the lunchroom where we find out about.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Going dummy with it.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Going dummy with it. Now tell me about going dummy
- 19:07Speaker 1: with it because you young folks seem to know what
- 19:10Speaker 1: it was. Well, I had never heard of going dummy
- 19:12Speaker 1: with it.
- 19:13Speaker 5: No, I made it up.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Well, no, that was made up. Ha ha ha. Not
- 19:16Speaker 4: a thing.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Oh, but wait.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Going dumb is a thing.
- 19:20Speaker 1: But didn't you guys say that in the Bay Area
- 19:22Speaker 1: there's a slang or something? I don't... Or that wasn't
- 19:26Speaker 1: you guys. That was somebody else.
- 19:27Speaker 5: I don't remember.
- 19:28Speaker 2: That was someone.
- 19:29Speaker 7: One of the writers, I think, wrote in something about
- 19:31Speaker 7: the Bay Area and then.
- 19:33Speaker 2: You started saying go and dummy with it.
- 19:35Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 19:35Speaker 7: And I just kind of went, go dummy with it.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Go dummy with it.
- 19:40Speaker 4: And then it turned into this whole thing. Yeah. It's
- 19:43Speaker 4: really funny.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, what I think is cute, sweet, as we learn,
- 19:47Speaker 1: as we begin this relationship between these two. as reluctant buddies,
- 19:52Speaker 1: question mark.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:53Speaker 1: That she was like looking out for you.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Like, you're humiliating yourself.
- 19:58Speaker 8: Yes.
- 19:58Speaker 1: And I'm going to help you because this is so
- 20:02Speaker 1: embarrassing for you.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I love it when characters do that. When Ava comes over,
- 20:06Speaker 2: she goes, I'm trying to help you out. Like, that's...
- 20:08Speaker 2: I love that. Because it's just like, oh, there's this
- 20:10Speaker 2: whole backstory with them that we don't even know about
- 20:12Speaker 2: that we're just learning about now. And it was like, oh,
- 20:15Speaker 2: that's going to be fun.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Well, to me, this episode sort of launches that funny
- 20:18Speaker 1: relationship between you two guys.
- 20:19Speaker 7: Totally.
- 20:20Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 20:20Speaker 1: That I think... the writers are clearly liking because we
- 20:23Speaker 1: keep it going.
- 20:25Speaker 4: So you guys are so good together, you know, and
- 20:27Speaker 4: you guys both bounce off of each other. Even when
- 20:29Speaker 4: the podcast started today, you know, in the beginning, um,
- 20:33Speaker 4: with the outfit that you brought. You picked her on,
- 20:36Speaker 4: you know what I mean? I love Ava.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I think Ava's so funny.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Oh my God, I love you, John.
- 20:40Speaker 1: And they both come from a sketch background, so they
- 20:42Speaker 1: have that in their blood, which I think, and you're
- 20:45Speaker 1: both great riffers and you're funny folks.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Well, I enjoyed following this relationship, knowing that it wasn't
- 20:53Speaker 4: going to become anything more than a friendship, but that's
- 20:58Speaker 4: a good... Well, who knows?
- 21:01Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 21:01Speaker 4: But I feel like that's a good.
- 21:03Speaker 1: No, I'm not spilling any tea. I just think, like,
- 21:05Speaker 1: I agree with you, Donald. Sorry to interrupt you, but
- 21:07Speaker 1: I agree that there's no element of flirtation at all,
- 21:12Speaker 1: which I like. They both have crushes on other people,
- 21:16Speaker 1: but she's, like, she's helping him in a... funny, teasing way,
- 21:21Speaker 1: which I find very enjoyable to watch.
- 21:23Speaker 9: Totally.
- 21:24Speaker 4: And it travels through the whole casual sex thing and
- 21:27Speaker 4: all of that stuff. It's just.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Yeah, she's mean to me at the end. If you
- 21:30Speaker 2: can be mean to your friend, that's how you know
- 21:32Speaker 2: you're friends.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 21:34Speaker 4: And it'd be okay. Yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 1: So then we cross over to the erection hot tub debate,
- 21:39Speaker 1: which is really a heated discussion about whether the water
- 21:42Speaker 1: displacement will be an issue. Now, What's up? You want
- 21:47Speaker 1: to know the real answer?
- 21:48Speaker 8: No.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I'm guessing that the writer's room must have Googled this
- 21:52Speaker 1: and gotten into a hot debate themselves.
- 21:54Speaker 4: I mean, but in the show, this debate gets like
- 21:57Speaker 4: stadium size.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Well, no, it just moves to the Radisson.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Okay, so it gets fucking ballroom size.
- 22:05Speaker 1: That's one of the, it's later, but that's so funny when,
- 22:07Speaker 1: when Sibby's like, oh no, no, that's, that had to
- 22:09Speaker 1: move to the Radisson.
- 22:10Speaker 7: That was such a fun scene to film.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Is that going to make it? That's the question.
- 22:16Speaker 1: What?
- 22:16Speaker 4: Men and their dicks.
- 22:18Speaker 3: You know what?
- 22:19Speaker 1: We have not been flagged yet for men and their dicks.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I think it's going to make it.
- 22:22Speaker 8: Oh shit.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Because she improvised that. It was so funny.
- 22:25Speaker 8: I know.
- 22:25Speaker 1: And I, I don't want to jinx it. Um, but I, uh,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I have not seen an email saying you can't say
- 22:32Speaker 1: men on their dicks yet.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Okay. Okay, ABC.
- 22:34Speaker 5: Okay.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 22:36Speaker 7: Yeah, that was a fun scene because it was me, Sarah, Vanessa,
- 22:41Speaker 7: and Stephanie.
- 22:42Speaker 1: And it was late.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and it was like so fun. Oh, my God,
- 22:46Speaker 3: the ladies.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Let's talk about Stephanie Koenig who has just joined our cast.
- 22:52Speaker 1: She is really talented. In the spirit of you guys,
- 22:55Speaker 1: very quick on her feet, she's a writer herself.
- 22:58Speaker 4: Very natural.
- 22:58Speaker 1: And she's so natural.
- 22:59Speaker 4: So natural.
- 23:00Speaker 1: You never feel a false moment from her. And it just,
- 23:03Speaker 1: and she can just keep up with improv and she's never, uh, well, we, we,
- 23:08Speaker 1: we crack each other up.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Did she know, oh, this is from another episode, but
- 23:12Speaker 4: she's just been so impressive. You know what I mean?
- 23:14Speaker 4: Like everybody that we brought in so far, uh, has
- 23:18Speaker 4: just really, you know, I.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Love in this episode the stuff we have where JD
- 23:24Speaker 1: just can't figure out how to hit on her. He's
- 23:28Speaker 1: so fumbling it so bad. And the stuff with the raccoons. Again,
- 23:33Speaker 1: we have raccoons, raccoons. And we were just riffing back
- 23:38Speaker 1: and forth and making that so cringe. And we also
- 23:40Speaker 1: have the saxophonist from The Lost Boys.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Which I love. Which I loved. I used to love that.
- 23:47Speaker 9: I still believe. I don't want to cry. I don't
- 23:57Speaker 9: want to cry. I don't want to cry.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Now, Joelle, did you know Lost Boys as well as
- 24:03Speaker 1: Donald does?
- 24:05Speaker 8: Lost Boys is a slightly older canon. I'm familiar with it,
- 24:09Speaker 8: but I know the saxophone guy from Memes.
- 24:11Speaker 5: He's very popular.
- 24:12Speaker 4: I wonder if that song's in the Broadway show.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I saw the Broadway show.
- 24:18Speaker 4: It seems like we have to.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I saw the Broadway show.
- 24:21Speaker 4: I still believe in the Broadway show.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I honestly don't remember. I think there is a sexy saxophonist.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I don't know if he has a dog collar and
- 24:29Speaker 1: wearing that crazy outfit.
- 24:31Speaker 4: With the biker shorts.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, this guy, Tim, what's his real name? Oh, Joelle,
- 24:39Speaker 1: will you look that up for me, please? It is
- 24:41Speaker 1: Tim something. I'm sorry. We'll correct it. But he brought
- 24:45Speaker 1: the dog collar thing that he wore in Lost Boys.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Yes. Capello?
- 24:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Tim Capello. Thank you. He's a famous saxophonist, but
- 24:55Speaker 1: I believe his most famous thing of all time was
- 24:57Speaker 1: being the saxophonist in Lost Boys.
- 25:00Speaker 4: That is, I think that's where everybody, I mean, if
- 25:02Speaker 4: you're a real jazz fan, you probably know him otherwise.
- 25:07Speaker 1: I think he was in... Someone else's famous... Joel, can
- 25:10Speaker 1: you look it up? He plays with a lot of
- 25:12Speaker 1: famous artists. I know that. Obviously, he's an incredible saxophonist. Rock, rock.
- 25:18Speaker 4: A rock saxophone. I bet you he does jazz. I
- 25:20Speaker 4: bet you he does all that.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Go ahead, Joel.
- 25:22Speaker 8: Tim used to play in between Billy Crystal's sets. He
- 25:27Speaker 8: was also a saxophonist for Peter Gabriel. Oh!
- 25:32Speaker 4: You know who Peter Gabriel is? Yes! Or name a song.
- 25:35Speaker 8: Um....
- 25:40Speaker 1: Look up for anybody else, Jewel.
- 25:44Speaker 8: Okay, he performed on the 1993 soundtrack album What's Love
- 25:47Speaker 8: Got to Do With It.
- 25:48Speaker 2: That's what I was looking for.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I was looking for Tina Turner. I remember there was
- 25:53Speaker 1: a famous artist. It was Tina Turner. Okay, so J.D.
- 25:57Speaker 1: 's really fumbling hitting on Cassie. And then we cut
- 26:02Speaker 1: to Turk, who can't wait to trick-or-treat. He is so excited.
- 26:06Speaker 1: He's made a map and he's circled all the gays.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Right, because gays give out the best candy, as we
- 26:12Speaker 4: all know.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Is that an as we all know?
- 26:15Speaker 1: I didn't know it was a thing. Gays?
- 26:18Speaker 5: They celebrate Halloween.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Go ahead, Joelle. You know better than that. You're on it.
- 26:23Speaker 4: You're facts.
- 26:23Speaker 8: The gays just do Halloween better. And I think, too,
- 26:26Speaker 8: if you're in a smaller town with notable gays. I
- 26:30Speaker 8: grew up in a town where the mayor was gay
- 26:32Speaker 8: and we had music teachers who were gays. And they, like,
- 26:35Speaker 8: Halloween was a big event. The candy was hitting. I
- 26:38Speaker 8: find this very true.
- 26:38Speaker 1: The candy was hitting. And Michael James Scott agreed. He
- 26:45Speaker 1: said that, yes, the gays go take Halloween very seriously.
- 26:49Speaker 4: I can just throw one example into the fire and
- 26:53Speaker 4: everybody will agree. Let's just talk parade. Right, around Halloween.
- 26:59Speaker 7: Right.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Yes.
- 27:00Speaker 4: That West Hollywood parade is one of the.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Yes, and in New York City, too.
- 27:04Speaker 4: Oh, duh. Yeah.
- 27:05Speaker 1: That shit is out of control. I think they go
- 27:07Speaker 1: dummy with it.
- 27:07Speaker 4: They go dummy with it. They go dummy with it.
- 27:11Speaker 1: So Turk doesn't see the little girl that can't trick-or-treat.
- 27:16Speaker 4: Because she's sick in the hospital.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Her name is Tessa, and she's bummed, and Carla's like,
- 27:19Speaker 1: stop talking about trick-or-treating.
- 27:22Speaker 4: But Turk is so excited that he's going to take
- 27:24Speaker 4: his daughter trick-or-treating- Uh, he's going to take Nora, his
- 27:27Speaker 4: daughter trick or treating. And so he, when he sees
- 27:30Speaker 4: the little girl, he, he doesn't apologize. He just says hello.
- 27:33Speaker 1: But she does a very cute head shake when Carla
- 27:36Speaker 1: says she thinks it's appropriate. She helps him out.
- 27:37Speaker 8: So cute.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Do you think it's appropriate to circle all the gays?
- 27:40Speaker 1: And she's like, mm-mm.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Don't you do it.
- 27:43Speaker 1: That little girl was wonderful, by the way.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Yeah, she was great. Yes, what was her name? That's
- 27:46Speaker 4: the question.
- 27:47Speaker 1: I forgot her name, and I'm so sorry.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Okay, well, cut me asking that, Joelle.
- 27:50Speaker 1: But she was so talented and adorable. And we were
- 27:52Speaker 1: giving her lines on the day, and she just kept
- 27:55Speaker 1: riffing them perfectly.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 1: She was very talented.
- 27:57Speaker 8: Aw.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:58Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Then, all right, so Cox tells Rick, it's very important
- 28:03Speaker 1: you have to take the meds for your kidney transplant.
- 28:05Speaker 4: Well, we skipped some stuff.
- 28:07Speaker 8: Okay.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Didn't we?
- 28:08Speaker 1: Well, I think I'm going in order, but you go ahead.
- 28:10Speaker 4: I thought we skipped the fact that you don't, Cox
- 28:16Speaker 4: doesn't know how to.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Oh, no, we didn't. That's coming right up. So Cox
- 28:20Speaker 1: tells Rick that he has to take the meds or
- 28:22Speaker 1: he's going to mess up his kidney transplant. And Rick
- 28:25Speaker 1: is very dismissive and says, you call my wife, all
- 28:28Speaker 1: these things. And Cox goes to JD and he says, please,
- 28:31Speaker 1: how do you deal with this? How do you kiss ass? Like,
- 28:34Speaker 1: I don't know how to do it. It's not in
- 28:36Speaker 1: my blood, which is so true for Cox and Johnny C. McKinley.
- 28:40Speaker 4: I love the way that's written also, because the way
- 28:42Speaker 4: it's written is Cox goes to you for help, goes
- 28:45Speaker 4: to JD for help. And he's angry because of the
- 28:49Speaker 4: way he was treated. So he immediately throws it on
- 28:52Speaker 4: to JD. How do you, how do you, Act like
- 28:54Speaker 4: someone's little bitch.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:56Speaker 4: And because he's so angry at what just happened to him.
- 29:00Speaker 4: And so he insults JD. But JD does exactly what
- 29:05Speaker 4: Cox can't do and looks at that and tries to
- 29:09Speaker 4: find the heart in it or the. that know that
- 29:13Speaker 4: it's coming from love or something like that. And Cox
- 29:15Speaker 4: is like, that. How the fuck do you do that?
- 29:18Speaker 4: That's what I'm talking about right there. I'm not necessarily,
- 29:21Speaker 4: I was mad, I called you a bitch, I'm sorry,
- 29:23Speaker 4: but how the fuck do you do that? Because I
- 29:25Speaker 4: don't have that in me.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Yeah, well, JD's saying, hey, I'm going to sing a
- 29:28Speaker 1: little song for you in the spirit of Mary Poppins.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 29:32Speaker 1: And this was really fun to do. I haven't done
- 29:37Speaker 1: a lot of stunts for Scrubs where I could literally
- 29:40Speaker 1: legitimately die.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:42Speaker 1: And this one, if things had gone awry, I remember.
- 29:47Speaker 6: Thinking, I do want to make America laugh, but I
- 29:51Speaker 6: also don't want to die.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Yeah. And I was.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Dangling from 40 feet in the air in a Mary
- 29:55Speaker 1: Poppins costume. Literally... just hanging there going, I mean, I'm
- 30:00Speaker 1: sure these guys know what they're doing.
- 30:02Speaker 4: I mean, they do all the time. You were pretty
- 30:05Speaker 4: high up, yes.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Johnny C was like, I would never. I was like,
- 30:08Speaker 1: that's not helping. That's not helping, Johnny.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Did you ever tip?
- 30:11Speaker 8: No.
- 30:12Speaker 1: We've been doing a lot of flying this season and
- 30:16Speaker 1: rigging of things. And we always have the same guys
- 30:20Speaker 1: and I trust them. They really seem like they know
- 30:22Speaker 1: what they're doing. But it is still fucking scary to
- 30:25Speaker 1: be dangling 40 feet in the air with solely... a
- 30:28Speaker 1: cable that's as thin as that tied to your waist.
- 30:32Speaker 1: But it was really, they did a great job, and
- 30:33Speaker 1: I thought it was really funny. The song I thought
- 30:37Speaker 1: was really cute and funny.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Yeah, be the bitch for the rich.
- 30:40Speaker 1: And then on the day, we had this idea in
- 30:42Speaker 1: the spirit, I think this may have been your idea,
- 30:44Speaker 1: the 2D, so we had a, as you remember in
- 30:48Speaker 1: Mary Poppins, there's all those 2D animated animals. And was
- 30:52Speaker 1: it your idea that said we should do a 2D
- 30:53Speaker 1: animated rowdy that comes.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Up And it tries to sing along.
- 30:58Speaker 1: And so we're having that animated. And then I did
- 31:01Speaker 1: it on the day just to give us like the
- 31:04Speaker 1: idea of it. But then I thought, oh, it'd be
- 31:05Speaker 1: way funnier if it's Michael James Scott.
- 31:07Speaker 8: Right.
- 31:08Speaker 1: And then he did it so campy. He's like, rough, rough, rough, rough, rough.
- 31:16Speaker 4: So.
- 31:18Speaker 1: There you go. By the time the audience sees it,
- 31:20Speaker 1: you guys haven't seen it with all the VFX done,
- 31:22Speaker 1: it'll be like birds swarming around and leaves, and it'll
- 31:25Speaker 1: look really good. It'll look great.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Very popping-ass.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Sidney has... Sibby has been kidnapped multiple times.
- 31:33Speaker 4: Now, this is.
- 31:34Speaker 6: Okay.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Go ahead. What's your problem with it?
- 31:36Speaker 4: I remember you saying this, and I've said this a
- 31:38Speaker 4: couple of times, but the 70s and 80s were a
- 31:42Speaker 4: different time. And for some reason, I remember being kidnapped too.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I remember being kidnapped.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I know.
- 31:48Speaker 3: You said this once too, bro.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Like in real life?
- 31:50Speaker 4: Yeah, man.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I have a story in my life that I just
- 31:54Speaker 1: don't have. I don't know if you guys have anything
- 31:55Speaker 1: like this in your life where you have absolutely no
- 31:59Speaker 1: idea if it really happened or not. I'm literally 50-50
- 32:03Speaker 1: on it. And I wasn't kidnapped. It was a kidnapping attempt. Oh, shit. Again,
- 32:10Speaker 1: I really don't know, honestly. In my mind, I have
- 32:13Speaker 1: a very specific memory of this happening. But at this age,
- 32:17Speaker 1: I look back and go, it could have been a dream.
- 32:19Speaker 1: And I remember it. My parents don't remember it. But
- 32:22Speaker 1: I was at a very short version of it. I
- 32:24Speaker 1: was at a friend's house. A woman pulled up in
- 32:26Speaker 1: a station wagon. She had other kids in the car.
- 32:28Speaker 1: And she said, your mom wanted me to come pick
- 32:30Speaker 1: you up. And I said, I don't know you. I'm
- 32:33Speaker 1: not getting in the car. And I said to the
- 32:35Speaker 1: people I was with, I don't know her. And she
- 32:38Speaker 1: eventually gave up and left. And when I went home
- 32:40Speaker 1: to my parents, I was like, I told them and
- 32:42Speaker 1: they were like, we didn't tell anybody to come pick
- 32:43Speaker 1: you up.
- 32:43Speaker 10: Wow.
- 32:44Speaker 8: Okay.
- 32:44Speaker 4: So my dream, it's definitely a dream, but my dream
- 32:48Speaker 4: is that I got kidnapped and they pulled up in
- 32:50Speaker 4: a white van and they kept me for a while.
- 32:51Speaker 4: And I think, you know, when I saw, and this
- 32:53Speaker 4: is crazy because when you see big, this motherfucker runs
- 32:57Speaker 4: away from home and tells his mom pretty much that
- 33:00Speaker 4: he's been kidnapped. And she's like, Well, when you get
- 33:04Speaker 4: bringing the kid home, when you bring him home, like
- 33:06Speaker 4: he calls her. Yeah. Listen, I'm going to bring him
- 33:08Speaker 4: home soon. Don't worry. Pretty much in the fucking movie.
- 33:12Speaker 4: And in my mind, I was like, that shit feels
- 33:14Speaker 4: like that happened to me at one point. Now, I
- 33:16Speaker 4: know it didn't, but I dreamt at some point that
- 33:20Speaker 4: I got pulled in the van.
- 33:21Speaker 1: I honestly, I honestly have no idea if mine really
- 33:26Speaker 1: happened or is a dream. It's a very specific, detailed memory.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Did your parents remember you coming home and saying that?
- 33:32Speaker 1: No, I don't think they have any recall of it,
- 33:35Speaker 1: which feels like if it was real, they would remember.
- 33:37Speaker 1: But I don't know. I don't mean to dwell on it.
- 33:41Speaker 1: It's just so trippy that it's one of the few
- 33:42Speaker 1: things in my life that's crazy that I don't have
- 33:44Speaker 1: a definitive answer on.
- 33:45Speaker 4: And then Sibby says it.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Well, Sibby, I don't think this was written that she
- 33:49Speaker 1: was kidnapped. I think it was written that she keeps
- 33:51Speaker 1: getting hit by them. But I think on the day
- 33:53Speaker 1: we were laughing more at the fact that she had
- 33:55Speaker 1: been kidnapped multiple times and it was always Vance.
- 33:58Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 4: It's always Vance.
- 33:59Speaker 7: Yes.
- 34:00Speaker 2: It's always Vance.
- 34:01Speaker 4: It's always Vance.
- 34:02Speaker 1: All right. So the erection debate, we talked about this.
- 34:04Speaker 1: It moves to the Radisson. Now, this Gumby hair flying off,
- 34:07Speaker 1: I laughed out loud. It is so funny. And I
- 34:10Speaker 1: was very concerned because I wasn't there when you guys
- 34:12Speaker 1: shot this. And I said to everyone involved, Craig Zisk
- 34:15Speaker 1: directed this, we should say, and Michael Spiller was there,
- 34:18Speaker 1: our producing director. And I said, you guys, this is
- 34:20Speaker 1: not a fantasy. It's in the real world. The Gumby
- 34:23Speaker 1: has to fly off in a believable way.
- 34:25Speaker 4: I was so disappointed. I wanted it to fly off
- 34:28Speaker 4: like a young Frankenstein.
- 34:29Speaker 1: I know.
- 34:30Speaker 8: No!
- 34:33Speaker 1: That would have been a fantasy.
- 34:34Speaker 4: No, we did it on Scrubs before where Ted saw
- 34:37Speaker 4: something and his hair went from flat to fucking poofy
- 34:41Speaker 4: and then went flat again, bro. We did it before.
- 34:43Speaker 9: So funny.
- 34:44Speaker 1: All right. I hear that. I hear that argument. I just,
- 34:47Speaker 1: I mean, I laughed at the way it is, didn't you?
- 34:49Speaker 4: I laughed my ass off.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Okay. So we got to have our cake and eat
- 34:52Speaker 1: it too.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Yes, absolutely.
- 34:52Speaker 1: It falls off, but it falls off in a believable way.
- 34:56Speaker 1: I laughed.
- 34:56Speaker 4: I laughed at the fact that I'm dressed as Bobby Brown.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Now this is where I didn't laugh.
- 35:00Speaker 9: All right.
- 35:00Speaker 1: What's the matter?
- 35:03Speaker 4: Fucking John C. McGinley is ripped. He takes his shirt
- 35:05Speaker 4: off at one point and his motherfucker and his body
- 35:08Speaker 4: is ripped. Y'all let me walk around in a motherfucking jacket.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Don't blow out the mic.
- 35:12Speaker 3: You look great.
- 35:13Speaker 4: Thank you so much, Ava. But my fucking sides is
- 35:16Speaker 4: hanging over and shit. I do the running man and
- 35:19Speaker 4: I'm coming up and I'm like, damn it, John C. McGinley.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but he works his ass off every day.
- 35:24Speaker 4: John C. McGinley, I'm very impressed with how you're able
- 35:27Speaker 4: to do that.
- 35:28Speaker 1: It's because in Rooster, he's in the sauna a lot
- 35:31Speaker 1: and he likes to be ripped.
- 35:33Speaker 4: He takes off his shirt and that shit's flat.
- 35:35Speaker 1: But do you know how hard that man works? And
- 35:37Speaker 1: he doesn't have a sip of alcohol. He doesn't have
- 35:41Speaker 1: any sugar. He works out every morning. You could do
- 35:44Speaker 1: all that.
- 35:45Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 35:45Speaker 3: But was that intentional? I was like, okay, little peak.
- 35:51Speaker 4: At the same time. I said, okay. He's letting them know.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Johnny's going to be very happy that the ladies clocked
- 35:57Speaker 1: his abs. I think when he took that off, Whereas
- 36:01Speaker 1: most of us would make sure our shirt came down,
- 36:04Speaker 1: Johnny did not mind that.
- 36:05Speaker 5: His shirt came up.
- 36:06Speaker 4: It's coming up.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Well, he works so hard.
- 36:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 36:09Speaker 1: And if you got it, flaunt it.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Seriously.
- 36:12Speaker 1: By the way, I had a revelation. This is later
- 36:14Speaker 1: in the script, I guess, but I'll just get to
- 36:15Speaker 1: it now. And I don't know if the writers intended this.
- 36:19Speaker 1: You guys tell me what you think. When he has
- 36:22Speaker 1: had enough of Rick and he takes off the thing,
- 36:25Speaker 1: he's taking off the costume. He's taking off his costume
- 36:29Speaker 1: from Halloween. of being someone he's not.
- 36:32Speaker 7: Yes.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Very good. Did you guys see that or no?
- 36:35Speaker 4: Yes. Absolutely, I did. And I was wondering if.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Joelle, did you clock that or no?
- 36:41Speaker 8: Not in real time, but I'm seeing it now.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 36:44Speaker 5: I remember the hat flip off.
- 36:46Speaker 8: Was so aggressively. I was so done with this shit.
- 36:48Speaker 8: He's communicating a lot in these actions.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Yes.
- 36:52Speaker 1: I don't know if the writers intended that, but I
- 36:54Speaker 1: thought that that was very, very clever.
- 36:56Speaker 4: Yeah. I want to go back.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I'm sorry. That was to jump ahead. Go ahead.
- 37:00Speaker 4: You go. Let's talk about these two. Talking at the
- 37:03Speaker 4: end about, not at the end, in the middle, about casual,
- 37:08Speaker 4: about the casual sex.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Yes. Ava, you kind of do, when you're saying I
- 37:15Speaker 1: picture you as more of a.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Formal sex.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Formal sex kind of guy.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Formal sex kind of guy. It's not casual, it's formal.
- 37:22Speaker 4: And then you go into this formal voice.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Formal sex.
- 37:24Speaker 4: And then he says, and then he says.
- 37:26Speaker 2: I want to apologize for being an inquisitive lover.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but you do it in a formal voice. I
- 37:31Speaker 1: want to apologize for being an inquisitive lover.
- 37:34Speaker 4: I laughed at that too. But it just shows also
- 37:38Speaker 4: that you guys have a great fucking, we said it before,
- 37:41Speaker 4: we'll say it again. You guys have a great chemistry.
- 37:43Speaker 4: Was the first scene together?
- 37:45Speaker 3: Like our first like just us two.
- 37:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:47Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:48Speaker 4: You know, you both bring so much to the show
- 37:51Speaker 4: and it's great to have the both of you finally. Yeah.
- 37:55Speaker 1: I think they're going to keep writing to it too.
- 37:56Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 37:57Speaker 4: I hope so.
- 37:57Speaker 1: One thing you'll find on Scrubs and is that when
- 38:03Speaker 1: things are, when a new relationship, oh, that's funny together.
- 38:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:07Speaker 1: We all start writing to it.
- 38:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:09Speaker 1: You know? And I think that that's, you know, that's
- 38:13Speaker 1: clearly a new thing.
- 38:14Speaker 4: You two.
- 38:15Speaker 1: And I think, again, I like that it's not a
- 38:16Speaker 1: romantic thing.
- 38:19Speaker 2: She feels like my homie.
- 38:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's very much Turk and JD again.
- 38:23Speaker 1: But they're not easy homies. She's constantly dissing you. But
- 38:26Speaker 1: you're not, like, lusting after her. You've got your eyes
- 38:29Speaker 1: set on Amara. I like that the character of Grant
- 38:34Speaker 1: is meant to be a very exceptional doctor. But he
- 38:37Speaker 1: has absolutely zero skills with women.
- 38:40Speaker 4: I know.
- 38:41Speaker 2: It's a part that I can play well.
- 38:43Speaker 1: What?
- 38:46Speaker 4: You're married, aren't you?
- 38:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I am.
- 38:47Speaker 4: You did good.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Are you married?
- 38:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Oh.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Big time.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Big time.
- 38:51Speaker 1: I knew you had a partner.
- 38:52Speaker 3: Big time marriage.
- 38:53Speaker 1: What makes a marriage big time? The way I do it.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Big time marriage.
- 38:58Speaker 1: I marry hard.
- 38:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:09Speaker 1: I laughed out loud every time you pulled that fucking
- 39:12Speaker 1: red vine out of your pants.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Yes.
- 39:14Speaker 1: And in fact, I came up with the idea to
- 39:16Speaker 1: not let the audience ever see the end of it.
- 39:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Because it used to come out and then there was
- 39:22Speaker 1: a couplet after. I go, if we don't ever show
- 39:24Speaker 1: the end of it and the audience is mine, it
- 39:26Speaker 1: keeps talking.
- 39:27Speaker 4: She's still doing it. That's fun. That was a lot
- 39:31Speaker 4: of fun. That's another example of us getting really big.
- 39:35Speaker 4: There's no red vine in history that is.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Well, they had to have that made.
- 39:39Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a homemade.
- 39:40Speaker 1: That's not that big. I believe in the world that
- 39:43Speaker 1: someone could make a giant red vine. I don't believe
- 39:46Speaker 1: that hair flies off when someone's surprised. Obviously, the thing
- 39:56Speaker 1: about scrubs, and this was always the case with Bill,
- 39:58Speaker 1: is that you set rules, and then, of course, you
- 40:00Speaker 1: always break them.
- 40:00Speaker 4: Break them.
- 40:01Speaker 1: But you try and have the breaks be rare.
- 40:03Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean?
- 40:05Speaker 4: I understand.
- 40:06Speaker 1: By the way, it's so funny. The way your hair
- 40:09Speaker 1: falls off is hilarious to me.
- 40:10Speaker 4: That shit made me laugh. Yes, because Nora doesn't want
- 40:13Speaker 4: to trick-or-treat with her dad.
- 40:14Speaker 3: I get what you're saying, though, Donald, about it.
- 40:17Speaker 4: That would have been hilarious if it just flew off like...
- 40:20Speaker 4: Three Stooges style. Three Stooges, yes.
- 40:22Speaker 1: And Buckwheat. Do you remember when Buckwheat.
- 40:24Speaker 4: That was... Yes, I do remember that. And the eyes
- 40:27Speaker 4: and all of that stuff.
- 40:27Speaker 1: No, but wouldn't Buckwheat's hair unfold straight up?
- 40:31Speaker 4: No, all of them.
- 40:31Speaker 2: That's so fun.
- 40:32Speaker 4: It would happen to all of them. Steam would come
- 40:34Speaker 4: out of their ears or... You know what I mean?
- 40:36Speaker 4: Their hat would fly off or something like that when
- 40:38Speaker 4: they got surprised.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Do you know what the Little Rascals are?
- 40:40Speaker 5: Yes.
- 40:41Speaker 1: But you probably know the modern version.
- 40:43Speaker 5: Alfalfa.
- 40:43Speaker 4: Yeah, our gang.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Well, back in our day, we would watch the OG
- 40:48Speaker 1: black and white ones.
- 40:49Speaker 4: Called our gang.
- 40:49Speaker 1: They were on TV.
- 40:51Speaker 4: It was the Little Rascals, but they was really our gang.
- 40:53Speaker 1: I loved it.
- 40:54Speaker 4: So did I.
- 40:54Speaker 1: I grew up watching that.
- 40:55Speaker 4: So did I. All right.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Elliot struggles to explain a write-off to.
- 41:01Speaker 4: Let's go back. And say what happened. So, Elliot comes
- 41:05Speaker 4: into the office of Cassie, pitching her idea for women's health.
- 41:10Speaker 4: Because Cassie, in the scene that we were talking about
- 41:14Speaker 4: earlier with Sibi, Tosh, Elliot, and Cassie, they're all talking
- 41:23Speaker 4: about women's rights. Women's health care. Sorry. You could hit the.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Are you still actively feeling the marijuana that you have? No, but-
- 41:35Speaker 1: Or did you go re-up in the break?
- 41:36Speaker 4: I should have.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I should have.
- 41:38Speaker 4: I didn't.
- 41:39Speaker 2: You remember everything.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Thank you. Because I forgot names. Thank you.
- 41:48Speaker 9: Thank you.
- 41:49Speaker 2: And ever and ever and ever.
- 41:50Speaker 4: All right.
- 41:52Speaker 1: You got the names now, girl?
- 41:54Speaker 4: I said it.
- 41:55Speaker 1: You got them all out.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Is there a scene about women's rights?
- 41:57Speaker 4: Yeah, they were talking about them. And so now in
- 42:00Speaker 4: this scene, it's set up where, thank you, by the way. Yes, yeah, obviously.
- 42:05Speaker 4: Where Elliot's now in the office because she thinks that
- 42:08Speaker 4: Cassie is down with the rest of the ladies. And
- 42:11Speaker 4: Cassie's like, when I said nobody cares about women's health,
- 42:15Speaker 4: I was actually saying that it doesn't make money for
- 42:17Speaker 4: the hospital, therefore nobody cares. And this catches Elliot off guard.
- 42:22Speaker 4: And she said, well, it's a great tax write-off. And
- 42:24Speaker 4: this is where Cassie says, you know, well, explain tax
- 42:28Speaker 4: write-off to me. What a tax write-off is.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and Elliot has a really bizarre way of getting
- 42:33Speaker 1: to the words write-off.
- 42:35Speaker 8: Yes.
- 42:35Speaker 1: They threw the T right off the boat.
- 42:37Speaker 4: And I believe that's where the term.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Write-off comes from. They're funny together, too. Absolutely. Because Elliot
- 42:44Speaker 1: and Cassie, I think, is a new funny combo.
- 42:47Speaker 4: But anyway, but this also shows us how evil Cassie
- 42:50Speaker 4: is also. This is our.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Well, evil I don't think is the word. I think
- 42:54Speaker 1: that what we're going to learn is that you might
- 42:57Speaker 1: not like her. She doesn't give a fuck. This comes
- 42:59Speaker 1: up in the episode we just shot. She has a line, sorry, spoiler,
- 43:05Speaker 1: I guess, where she says, I literally don't care. I
- 43:07Speaker 1: have my phone on during the whole movie. I use
- 43:10Speaker 1: the flashlight. I don't give a fuck what people think
- 43:12Speaker 1: about me. And so she... She is like, I'm solely
- 43:17Speaker 1: here to make this hospital money. I don't really care
- 43:19Speaker 1: what anybody thinks about me.
- 43:20Speaker 4: But this is the first time that we see that also. Yeah, yeah.
- 43:22Speaker 4: This is the turn. Yeah, exactly. We should also talk
- 43:25Speaker 4: about how when JD meets Cassie for the first time,
- 43:28Speaker 4: he hits on her, not knowing that it's his boss.
- 43:31Speaker 4: And then this comes back around and bites him.
- 43:32Speaker 1: By the way, when I flowed out at the act
- 43:34Speaker 1: break at Mary Poppins again, it wasn't written that I
- 43:38Speaker 1: had those little heels on. Yeah, the heels are good.
- 43:40Speaker 1: But I thought that would be funny to put the
- 43:41Speaker 1: heels back on.
- 43:42Speaker 4: That shit was hilarious.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Hilarious.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Do you click them together?
- 43:45Speaker 1: No, that's not a... She doesn't click them, but she
- 43:48Speaker 1: does hold them out like that. Yeah, that's hilarious. That
- 43:52Speaker 1: whole run was funny too. We were cracking up on
- 43:54Speaker 1: the day. And don't be afraid to ride me. I mean,
- 43:57Speaker 1: ride me, not like ride me.
- 44:00Speaker 4: Is that going to make the show?
- 44:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Okay. We get racy in this episode.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Well, the ultra used to get racy. We just have
- 44:09Speaker 1: to find our balance.
- 44:10Speaker 4: But this Halloween episode, there's a lot of raciness in it.
- 44:13Speaker 4: We open with freaking breast assist, then we go, you
- 44:16Speaker 4: know what I mean?
- 44:17Speaker 1: Well, so far we haven't been dinged on anything. I
- 44:20Speaker 1: think we're allowed to say rock.
- 44:21Speaker 4: We say dicks in it? Like, there's a lot.
- 44:24Speaker 1: They're more lenient on dick than dongs.
- 44:29Speaker 4: Really? And they don't like berries? They don't want to
- 44:32Speaker 4: describe your balls?
- 44:34Speaker 1: We cannot find a term for testicles they will let
- 44:36Speaker 1: us use. Unless it's medical and you're referring medically to
- 44:41Speaker 1: a pair of testicles. You can do that. But if
- 44:43Speaker 1: you say my balls, my nuts, none of that.
- 44:45Speaker 4: My bag?
- 44:47Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 44:47Speaker 4: My sack? None of that.
- 44:49Speaker 3: The family jewels.
- 44:50Speaker 4: Nothing.
- 44:51Speaker 1: We ended up with berries.
- 44:53Speaker 2: And you can say berries.
- 44:54Speaker 4: My berries.
- 44:54Speaker 1: We ended up cutting it because we were like berries
- 44:56Speaker 1: doesn't make sense.
- 44:57Speaker 2: My berries. She kicked me in the berries.
- 44:59Speaker 1: It's so bizarre. Like, it's very hard to find, understand
- 45:04Speaker 1: the censor guy. Yeah. Because you're like, I can call
- 45:09Speaker 1: you a dick. You called me a puss.
- 45:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 1: We cannot say balls. We cannot say dong.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Dong is crazy.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Last season, last season, Todd was in episode two. He's
- 45:24Speaker 1: supposed to say, you should, well, she goes.
- 45:27Speaker 4: You're making real, you're making, uh, you're showing real growth, Todd.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Well, yeah. And he goes, yeah, well, you should, he's
- 45:35Speaker 1: meant to say, well, you should see my dong. They
- 45:37Speaker 1: wouldn't let us do that. So we came up with
- 45:38Speaker 1: the idea of, because there's, there's a marching band in
- 45:41Speaker 1: the episode where they take over the, they, but so
- 45:44Speaker 1: he goes, duh, he only gets the duh out. Yeah. Um, Anyway,
- 45:48Speaker 1: these are the high-class problems we face in Scrubs.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Is it one censor? Do you guys know the censor?
- 45:54Speaker 4: I don't know if.
- 45:57Speaker 1: The network might have multiple people, but I think we
- 45:59Speaker 1: deal with one guy.
- 46:01Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 1: And the emails are always hilarious. Guys are the best.
- 46:03Speaker 1: No dong.
- 46:05Speaker 2: At SNL, we had Betsy Torres, who was amazing. She
- 46:07Speaker 2: was the censor forever. I don't think she works there anymore.
- 46:10Speaker 4: But she would always.
- 46:12Speaker 2: suggest other options and they'd be like way worse.
- 46:18Speaker 1: I think we get suggestions from this guy too.
- 46:20Speaker 3: That's so funny.
- 46:22Speaker 1: But it's contentious. Your woman in SNL sounds nice.
- 46:25Speaker 4: Yeah, she's lovely.
- 46:26Speaker 1: I feel like, I don't deal with this person, but
- 46:30Speaker 1: when I see, sometimes I see the emails and I'm like, wow,
- 46:33Speaker 1: these are sort of heated. Like, no dick, no balls.
- 46:37Speaker 4: Wow. Wait, when you say she would make worse like
- 46:42Speaker 4: what would she offer then.
- 46:43Speaker 2: I don't remember a specific example but it'd be stuff
- 46:46Speaker 2: like instead of pussy it'd be like what about like.
- 46:50Speaker 1: What bad no.
- 46:52Speaker 5: No like worse like innuendo.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Like what John I'm trying to this is not it
- 46:57Speaker 2: so Betsy if you're watching I'm sorry but it'd be
- 46:59Speaker 2: like skin slit.
- 47:04Speaker 10: What?
- 47:04Speaker 5: That was my first thought that I had.
- 47:07Speaker 2: But it wouldn't be that, but that's like an example
- 47:10Speaker 2: would all of a sudden be just out of left field.
- 47:11Speaker 4: Like, what?
- 47:13Speaker 5: I'm not ever going.
- 47:14Speaker 4: To say that ever.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 47:16Speaker 4: We should try to get away with skin slit, bro.
- 47:18Speaker 1: I don't think we'll get skin slit through. I can't
- 47:20Speaker 1: say dong.
- 47:21Speaker 2: I mean, yeah.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Skin slit is just nasty.
- 47:23Speaker 4: Sorry, Ben.
- 47:24Speaker 1: And that came straight from Ava, I apologize. Ava, I apologize.
- 47:28Speaker 1: You had to hear that.
- 47:29Speaker 7: I'm sorry I said skin slip.
- 47:33Speaker 1: I'm sorry that we had a guest on that would
- 47:35Speaker 1: say something like skin slip.
- 47:36Speaker 4: Joel laughed really hard and so did Ava, so I
- 47:38Speaker 4: don't know if they're offended.
- 47:39Speaker 1: We're fine. All right, here we go. Let's get to
- 47:42Speaker 1: the end. We hear the song Teardrop by Jose Gonzalez,
- 47:46Speaker 1: which is a beautiful song. And then I really thought
- 47:49Speaker 1: it was great. well done, the rushing to the CPR
- 47:52Speaker 1: for the patient as they all get back to their
- 47:55Speaker 1: roots of what they're here to do, which is to
- 47:57Speaker 1: save lives in this hospital. And Cox kind of comes
- 48:02Speaker 1: back to life. He gets the fire back in his,
- 48:06Speaker 1: he gets his mojo back by saving a life. Sorry,
- 48:09Speaker 1: she passes, but he gets his mojo back in fighting
- 48:14Speaker 1: for people's lives and he gets livid that this man
- 48:17Speaker 1: who's a rich asshole is is not protecting the organ
- 48:21Speaker 1: that he was, that was donated to him. And, um, yeah.
- 48:25Speaker 1: And that really makes him sort of, as I say,
- 48:28Speaker 1: take off the costume of the, of the, of the
- 48:30Speaker 1: person he is not and go back to the amazing
- 48:33Speaker 1: person that he is.
- 48:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:36Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:36Speaker 2: That scene was like one of those ones where I
- 48:38Speaker 2: think I was talking to you guys in village the
- 48:40Speaker 2: other day or whatever of like, um, This show feels
- 48:44Speaker 2: like the actual textbook definition of dramedy, where it's the
- 48:47Speaker 2: comedy is hard comedy. I'm actually laughing. And the dramatic moments,
- 48:52Speaker 2: I really feel it. I felt like that Avengers Assemble
- 48:54Speaker 2: moment when Johnny C. runs in and gets fucking revved up.
- 48:59Speaker 2: But it's like this show just does such a good
- 49:01Speaker 2: job at that, of making you truly feel both things
- 49:04Speaker 2: in a real way. Because dramedy now, to me, is
- 49:06Speaker 2: just drama. Most dramedies are that.
- 49:10Speaker 1: But this is actually... I like that. Thank you. I
- 49:12Speaker 1: like that about the show. I like that you laugh
- 49:15Speaker 1: out loud. And then there's almost always not every. episode,
- 49:20Speaker 1: but almost always this really moving moment. Because, you know,
- 49:23Speaker 1: we always heard from the people who work in hospitals, like,
- 49:27Speaker 1: they love this show because that's the life in the hospital.
- 49:29Speaker 4: Totally.
- 49:30Speaker 1: It's so intense. And then you're belly laughing with your
- 49:33Speaker 1: friends because you have to.
- 49:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:35Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 49:36Speaker 1: And so that's why we tried to capture that tone
- 49:39Speaker 1: of working there.
- 49:40Speaker 4: Yeah. I want to say one thing.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 49:43Speaker 4: I look good with hair.
- 49:46Speaker 1: You could wear a wig like in real life if
- 49:47Speaker 1: you want.
- 49:48Speaker 4: You could.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Or you could go to Turkey.
- 49:51Speaker 4: Well, I suggested that to my agent, and my agent
- 49:53Speaker 4: was like, for what? You're known as this. What are
- 49:57Speaker 4: you going to do? Are you going to come back
- 49:58Speaker 4: with a swollen noggin and freaking it'll all fall out?
- 50:01Speaker 1: It would be funny, though.
- 50:03Speaker 4: It would be fun.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Will you do it for the bit? If to go
- 50:05Speaker 1: to Turkey, we'll document the whole thing?
- 50:07Speaker 4: Okay, look.
- 50:08Speaker 1: If I document it, I send a documentary. Do I
- 50:10Speaker 1: need to go to Turkey?
- 50:10Speaker 4: Can I go to America?
- 50:11Speaker 1: Turk goes to Turkey. Turk goes to Turkey.
- 50:13Speaker 3: Turk goes to Turkey.
- 50:14Speaker 4: Listen.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Oh, my God. That's the doctor.
- 50:16Speaker 9: There you go.
- 50:16Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Higgins, do you want to produce anything?
- 50:19Speaker 4: No, wait.
- 50:19Speaker 9: Time out.
- 50:20Speaker 4: Time out. Why do I got to go to Turkey?
- 50:22Speaker 4: They do it in America now.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Well, it's just much cheaper in Turkey. That's why people
- 50:25Speaker 1: go there.
- 50:26Speaker 3: And it's more fun.
- 50:26Speaker 4: But I got insurance and I got- For the doc,
- 50:28Speaker 4: it's better if you go to Turkey for the name. Yeah,
- 50:30Speaker 4: but Turkey is like- Yeah, the doc's going to be boring.
- 50:33Speaker 4: We already found the name.
- 50:34Speaker 1: By the way, the doc is boring if it's Turk
- 50:37Speaker 1: Goes to Beverly Hills.
- 50:38Speaker 5: Yeah, you can't go to Beverly Hills.
- 50:40Speaker 1: No one wants to watch Turk Goes to Beverly Hills.
- 50:42Speaker 4: How long is the flight to Turkey? What? How long
- 50:45Speaker 4: is the flight to Turkey? I just feel like those
- 50:46Speaker 4: guys are always sitting in that airport and their head
- 50:50Speaker 4: is on fire.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Joelle, can you look up, is there a direct flight
- 50:52Speaker 1: from LAX to Turkey?
- 50:53Speaker 4: There's definitely not.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Or Vancouver.
- 50:55Speaker 4: It looks like you can get to.
- 50:57Speaker 8: Istanbul, nonstop, 13 hours, 10 minutes.
- 50:59Speaker 4: Oh, great.
- 50:59Speaker 1: 13 hours.
- 51:00Speaker 4: There we go.
- 51:01Speaker 1: And we'll get you a life flat.
- 51:04Speaker 4: I don't know if you want to put your head down.
- 51:06Speaker 1: You're not allowed to. Yeah, you can't.
- 51:07Speaker 5: A life flat on the way there.
- 51:11Speaker 1: I've seen docs about it. Like, you have to keep
- 51:14Speaker 1: your head upright. They give you a neck pillow. You
- 51:17Speaker 1: can't fuck in them. There's saran wrap on your shit.
- 51:19Speaker 2: The Brazilian butt lifts, they have to get whole rows
- 51:22Speaker 2: because they have to bend down.
- 51:23Speaker 1: They can't sit on them. Did you have yours done?
- 51:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I did.
- 51:26Speaker 1: It looks great. I didn't know you'd had it done.
- 51:29Speaker 1: I noticed that you had a juicy trunk. Yeah, yeah. Yeah,
- 51:31Speaker 1: I got it done.
- 51:32Speaker 2: And I'm not afraid to say it.
- 51:33Speaker 9: Good.
- 51:33Speaker 4: Good for you.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Did you do Beverly Hills or Brazil?
- 51:35Speaker 4: I did Brazil.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 51:36Speaker 4: I'm going to go Beverly Hills, I think, if we
- 51:38Speaker 4: do it.
- 51:38Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 51:39Speaker 4: We should go Beverly Hills.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Of course you're going to get bougie hair. Yeah.
- 51:43Speaker 4: It'll be my hair. How is it bougie?
- 51:45Speaker 1: Well, Beverly Hills hair. Yeah. All right, let's wrap it up.
- 51:49Speaker 1: You coming in as Beetlejuice is hilarious. Shout out to
- 51:52Speaker 1: our hair and makeup team.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Truly, they did such a good job. It looked awesome.
- 51:57Speaker 1: When you shrink with your shoulders, because you realize everyone's
- 52:00Speaker 1: not in a costume, it is so funny. It's like
- 52:02Speaker 1: a turtle going into a shell. Your body, your physical
- 52:05Speaker 1: comedy there is so funny, John, when you just go.
- 52:07Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 52:08Speaker 4: That's what we said on set.
- 52:09Speaker 2: I was like, I should shrink after I realized that nobody.
- 52:12Speaker 1: But your whole body just like, collapses of embarrassment.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Well, it's weird that he goes, I know that the
- 52:18Speaker 2: girl that I have a crush on thinks it's cool.
- 52:21Speaker 2: to wear a costume. So I go, this is what
- 52:23Speaker 2: I'm going to do. We were talking about how insane
- 52:25Speaker 2: that would be in real life if somebody went to
- 52:27Speaker 2: that extent.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Well, this character looks like he hired pros.
- 52:31Speaker 4: Pros, for sure.
- 52:32Speaker 5: I mean, we know that we've established that.
- 52:34Speaker 4: This cost $ 5, 000.
- 52:36Speaker 1: We've established that Grant is broke.
- 52:38Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 52:38Speaker 5: This is what he spends his money on.
- 52:40Speaker 4: No, but he spends his money on crazy shit like
- 52:43Speaker 4: a turtle. Yeah, he's blowing it.
- 52:45Speaker 1: But by the last... I mean, he spent whatever money
- 52:48Speaker 1: he doesn't have on hiring pros. Match out a credit card, yeah.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Because this was not done by him in the mirror. No,
- 52:54Speaker 1: not at all.
- 52:55Speaker 4: It's too good.
- 52:56Speaker 5: It's really good.
- 52:57Speaker 4: Showtime.
- 52:58Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 52:58Speaker 2: I love that you kept the scream in, too.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Yes, that was so funny. And then you have a
- 53:03Speaker 1: really mean diss to him.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Super mean.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Was that a riff or where did that come from?
- 53:06Speaker 7: Well, I love that you said, because at first it
- 53:09Speaker 7: was just I say that and I walk away and
- 53:11Speaker 7: it's silent.
- 53:12Speaker 3: And then you were like, that's just mean and weird.
- 53:15Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that's what we kept it. You're going, that's
- 53:17Speaker 1: a really mean and weird thing to say to someone.
- 53:19Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Because when we were rehearsing it, it was just so
- 53:22Speaker 2: bald of just like, what?
- 53:23Speaker 1: And you said to me, you're like, I'm like, I
- 53:25Speaker 1: can't believe you kept that in.
- 53:26Speaker 4: That's funny.
- 53:27Speaker 7: And I think that was the first time we spoke to,
- 53:30Speaker 7: because we had filmed that before we did our scene.
- 53:33Speaker 4: That was the first thing.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:34Speaker 7: And so then when I would come up to him
- 53:36Speaker 7: and we were looking at each other, we were like,
- 53:37Speaker 7: why are we like different people right now?
- 53:39Speaker 3: It was like kind of jarring.
- 53:40Speaker 4: The magic of, the magic of, filmmaking that's crazy because
- 53:45Speaker 4: i would have thought you guys shot that after because
- 53:47Speaker 4: it's so endearing after too though even though you're making
- 53:49Speaker 4: fun of them yeah and and you say uh and
- 53:53Speaker 4: you clown them and you say you know you don't
- 53:54Speaker 4: look like you you definitely don't have casual sex it's
- 53:58Speaker 4: still endearing i know it is it is it's still kind.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Of because it's a buddy being making giving you know
- 54:05Speaker 1: it's like we do fucking all day long it's yeah
- 54:07Speaker 1: it's a buddy fucking with each other yeah a thousand
- 54:09Speaker 1: percent um I wanted to say when Turk is dancing
- 54:13Speaker 1: in the tag, it is in the exact same spot
- 54:17Speaker 1: that he did his famous poison dance back in the 80s.
- 54:22Speaker 1: And that is a fan, a mega fan Easter egg.
- 54:24Speaker 4: Absolutely. But this time I stick to actual Bobby Brown
- 54:27Speaker 4: dances where if you watch the poison video. They don't
- 54:31Speaker 4: do any of the shit that I do on the Poison.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 54:33Speaker 4: That was all you? Yeah, yeah.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Damn.
- 54:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:36Speaker 1: And did you know that it's the Fortnite default dance thing? Yeah.
- 54:39Speaker 1: They just took the dance from you.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Somebody needs to check for that.
- 54:41Speaker 10: No.
- 54:41Speaker 4: No, don't do it.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Don't get people riled up.
- 54:43Speaker 4: Don't get mad at me. Them kids.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Don't get the internet riled up.
- 54:46Speaker 4: Not the internet. Don't get these kids.
- 54:48Speaker 1: The little kids get riled up.
- 54:49Speaker 4: I don't need that.
- 54:50Speaker 1: I don't need that in my life. Yeah. Donald doesn't
- 54:53Speaker 1: need to be trolled by little kids. No, wait a second.
- 54:56Speaker 4: You.
- 54:57Speaker 1: These dances that you do are some of the moves
- 55:00Speaker 1: that Bobby does in the video.
- 55:03Speaker 4: Right. So there's two versions of that. So Bobby Brown
- 55:05Speaker 4: in the video does a certain dance, but then Bobby
- 55:10Speaker 4: Brown on Soul Train did it, and it was different.
- 55:15Speaker 4: And so I kind of incorporate that. Into both. Into both, yes.
- 55:21Speaker 1: And I just want to say lastly that I remember
- 55:24Speaker 1: getting a call saying, hey.
- 55:27Speaker 1: Michael James Scott called Asim, our showrunner, about something. And,
- 55:31Speaker 1: you know, obviously you can't help but go, oh gosh,
- 55:33Speaker 1: I hope Michael's all right. I hope no one's upset
- 55:36Speaker 1: about what's, And I go, what about? He said he
- 55:39Speaker 1: wanted to know if it was okay if he was
- 55:41Speaker 1: Oprah Winfrey in the Halloween episode. Like 80s Oprah. And
- 55:46Speaker 1: we were all like, oh, my God.
- 55:48Speaker 8: Yes.
- 55:49Speaker 1: We will find a way. And so in the very
- 55:51Speaker 1: last moments, we were able to get Michael James Scott
- 55:55Speaker 1: as Oprah in the episode. You get a candy. You
- 55:58Speaker 1: get a candy.
- 55:58Speaker 4: He looked amazing. Amazing.
- 56:01Speaker 1: We have the funniest shots, pictures of Michael and Donald together.
- 56:04Speaker 4: I just love that he's Oprah with a goatee.
- 56:06Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 56:07Speaker 3: I know.
- 56:07Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Sorry.
- 56:08Speaker 1: He's Oprah with a goatee.
- 56:09Speaker 4: With a goatee.
- 56:10Speaker 3: So good.
- 56:11Speaker 2: There's a great picture in the hair and makeup trailer
- 56:13Speaker 2: of you, me, and Michael.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Yes.
- 56:15Speaker 4: It's just like, what is this show?
- 56:17Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 56:18Speaker 1: Well, the other day they came up to me, they're like,
- 56:20Speaker 1: are you going to be able to straddle the casket
- 56:22Speaker 1: in the rain?
- 56:23Speaker 4: And I was like.
- 56:24Speaker 1: I love this show.
- 56:24Speaker 4: I know. It's like, this is your job.
- 56:26Speaker 1: Only on Scrubs would anyone say the sentence, would you
- 56:28Speaker 1: be able to straddle the casket in the rain? Yeah.
- 56:32Speaker 1: That's 206, everybody.
- 56:34Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 56:35Speaker 1: John Higgins, tell people how to follow you on the Instagram.

- 56:56Speaker 2: Also, I don't want to pin Ava out, but she's
- 56:58Speaker 2: really good at funny dancing, too.
- 57:00Speaker 3: Oh, thank you, John.
- 57:02Speaker 2: That reminded me.
- 57:03Speaker 3: Wait, can you tell them about the story that happened
- 57:05Speaker 3: when we were walking?
- 57:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:06Speaker 7: She.
- 57:07Speaker 2: We were walking, we were kind of delirious after set
- 57:09Speaker 2: one day and she busted out a dance move that
- 57:12Speaker 2: I'm not kidding, maybe seven people turned around and started applauding.
- 57:16Speaker 1: What is it? Can you do it?
- 57:18Speaker 2: Like, it was awesome. Like, it was just, like, this funny, like,
- 57:21Speaker 2: I was like, you got to do that on the show.
- 57:23Speaker 3: And people were applauding.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Can you do, like, the seated version of it?
- 57:25Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 57:27Speaker 2: It was not seated.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Oh, it's not a seated kind of thing.
- 57:28Speaker 3: It's a full body commitment.
- 57:30Speaker 2: But it was awesome, and that's my dream.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Maybe we'll find a place for Tosh to do that
- 57:36Speaker 1: on the show.
- 57:36Speaker 4: You know, I'm a little disappointed, though, Ava.
- 57:38Speaker 8: Why?
- 57:39Speaker 4: Because you said you were going to put on the costume,
- 57:41Speaker 4: and we didn't get to the costume.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Well, hey. How about next time you're on the podcast?
- 57:44Speaker 1: You should be Gilroy.
- 57:46Speaker 3: I have to be Gilroy.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Next time you're on the podcast.
- 57:48Speaker 4: Can I be Gilroy? When we interview you, you be Gilroy. Yeah,
- 57:51Speaker 4: we're going to interview you.
- 57:53Speaker 1: We don't want her to stay in character. That'll get old. Well, no,
- 57:55Speaker 1: it won't get old.
- 57:56Speaker 4: Maybe she just does a bunch of characters.
- 57:57Speaker 3: Gilroy has a lot of depth to him.
- 57:59Speaker 4: Maybe she does a bunch of characters.
- 58:00Speaker 1: You gave us a little sampler, and I don't know.
- 58:02Speaker 4: If that's going to hold up for a while. A lot. Yeah,
- 58:04Speaker 4: she's got a lot. 30 minutes of Gilroy. It's like
- 58:06Speaker 4: Jiminy Glick, right?
- 58:07Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 58:08Speaker 4: We could do that. You could do a bunch of
- 58:09Speaker 4: different characters. We could meet a bunch of your characters.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Have you guys.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Ever had Jiminy Glick interview you two?
- 58:15Speaker 4: That would be amazing. He'd diss us. It would be

- 58:36Speaker 4: that what he was on, where he had the freaking
- 58:38Speaker 4: spike on it?
- 58:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but let's talk about Men's Synchronized Swimming, SNL classic.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Perfect SNL sketch.
- 58:43Speaker 4: Let's talk about freaking Three Amigos.
- 58:45Speaker 1: All right, we're going to wrap it up here. Thank you, everybody.
- 58:48Speaker 2: Thank you guys for having us.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Thank you guys. And count us out, Donald.
- 58:50Speaker 4: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 58:56Speaker 10: About a bunch of docs and nurses and a janitor
- 58:59Speaker 10: who loved to hate. I said he's got stories that
- 59:03Speaker 10: we all should know.
