- 0:17Dayna Roselli: And get ready to ride, North America's largest Formula One attraction opens here in Las Vegas.
- 0:23Sean McAllister: Mandalay Bay is hosting a songwriter festival, too.
- 0:27Sean McAllister: We have all the details and so much more coming up now on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:34Sean McAllister: Vegas Revealed starts now.
- 0:37Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed.
- 0:39Sean McAllister: It is episode 260.
- 0:41Sean McAllister: I'm Sean McAllister, along with Dana Roselli, right here in Las Vegas.
- 0:46Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 0:47Dayna Roselli: It has been a while, and we apologize.
- 0:49Dayna Roselli: Last week we didn't do a show, and we feel like we need to explain ourselves because we always say every week we do a show.
- 0:55Dayna Roselli: We only skip like one week a year, and that's around the holiday.
- 0:58Dayna Roselli: But um we did recently skip a show, and my dad passed away.
- 1:02Dayna Roselli: Um, and I've been in New York back and forth a lot over the last two and a half months.
- 1:07Dayna Roselli: Um, and uh I had to go home for two and a half weeks, um, you know, take care of my mom, do the services.
- 1:13Dayna Roselli: Sean came in, which uh was was wonderful, that my co-host and business partner came in to support me.
- 1:19Dayna Roselli: So we've been, you know, trying our best to stay on top of Vegas things.
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: But as you know, if you have lost a parent, it's something that you never expect, leaves a big hole in your heart.
- 1:31Dayna Roselli: It's been definitely very difficult.
- 1:33Dayna Roselli: There's also a lot of people who know what it's like to feel like, oh, I don't know if I'm prepared for when that happens.
- 1:38Dayna Roselli: And, you know, you're never prepared.
- 1:40Dayna Roselli: And it's um, it's been a lot.
- 1:42Dayna Roselli: We've gotten through it, but I am back, I am in the saddle, and I'm feeling the love from everyone.
- 1:48Dayna Roselli: So I appreciate all the support for anyone who knew.
- 1:50Dayna Roselli: I've kept a little private about it, but uh kind of put it out there recently just to let people know where I've been.
- 1:55Sean McAllister: Yeah, and uh as always, our thoughts, prayers are with you, and we're glad to have you back.
- 2:03Dayna Roselli: And Pat Roselli is my dad's name.
- 2:05Dayna Roselli: He was our biggest fan.
- 2:06Dayna Roselli: He was he wore his Vegas Revealed merch like a proud dad.
- 2:10Dayna Roselli: And uh I took his sweatshirt with me.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: I have it here in Las Vegas because he wore it all the time.
- 2:15Dayna Roselli: And and I kept saying, How do you keep that in such good shape?
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: Because you know, he wore it all the time, he'd watch it, and I was like, that that logo stays on real nice.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: That's a good quality sweatshirt.
- 2:25Dayna Roselli: And he'd say, Oh yeah.
- 2:27Sean McAllister: I I love that dad dipped into the Vegas Revealed merch store and got that sweatshirt.
- 2:32Dayna Roselli: He sure did.
- 2:32Sean McAllister: He sure did.
- 2:33Dayna Roselli: Well, I have certainly been out of the Vegas loop, which reminded me.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: Have we mentioned the new stop?
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: The new Vegas loop stop at the Westgate?
- 2:42Dayna Roselli: I can't remember if we did that.
- 2:43Dayna Roselli: I know we did it in the TV show recently, but I don't know if we did it on the audio podcast.
- 2:47Dayna Roselli: But anyway, a quick reminder for everyone that there is a new Vegas loop stop at the Westgate.
- 2:53Dayna Roselli: Um that is in addition to the one at Resorts World and Convention Center.
- 2:57Dayna Roselli: That is the boring company's, you know, underground tunnel system that they've started and is gonna expand, you know, to all the hotel casinos, the airport, downtown.
- 3:05Sean McAllister: But we are only at stop number three currently.
- 3:08Sean McAllister: So there's a long way to go before this tunnel transportation system is fully built out and you know, really making an impact on moving people around.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: But you know, it'll be helpful for the the north end of the strip.
- 3:22Dayna Roselli: We did get a question on our YouTube page because we posted our latest television show, which had the Vegas Loop story in it.
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: And if you want to see that, you can go to our YouTube channel.
- 3:30Dayna Roselli: Um but uh somebody had asked, like, is it just for conventiers or like can anyone use the Vegas loop?
- 3:36Dayna Roselli: And no, anybody can use the Vegas loop.
- 3:39Dayna Roselli: It's really simple.
- 3:40Dayna Roselli: We use the one from Resorts World to Convention Center once, and you go down, you grab a quick ticket, very affordable.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: I don't even know.
- 3:47Dayna Roselli: I don't know the ticket price off the top of my head, but it was like a couple bucks or something.
- 3:50Sean McAllister: Uh yeah, I think uh even once everything is is built out, I was looking at the website and they're saying at least at this point, like twelve dollars is uh going to be the most expensive ticket.
- 4:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's good.
- 4:03Sean McAllister: And that's at this point.
- 4:04Sean McAllister: I mean, who knows?
- 4:04Sean McAllister: It could all change.
- 4:05Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: Um as everything keeps going up.
- 4:07Sean McAllister: As everything keeps going up.
- 4:09Dayna Roselli: But um, yeah, we'll have um you know a couple different stops, and you you grab you grab it, you there's a car that you get right in and it takes you through the loop.
- 4:16Dayna Roselli: So pretty simple, and it's yeah, not for anyone specific.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: Any person is uh allowed to use it.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: And we appreciate getting questions like that.
- 4:24Sean McAllister: We love to give answers when you have Vegas-related questions.
- 4:29Sean McAllister: And just a reminder uh you can go down in our show notes and you can text questions to us anytime you want.
- 4:36Sean McAllister: Just click the link that we have down there, uh, and it'll bring up a screen where you can just type in your your message.
- 4:43Sean McAllister: It comes right to both Dana and me, and we will answer those questions on the next audio podcast.
- 4:51Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 4:51Dayna Roselli: When it's done, it's gonna be pretty incredible.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: And I think uh a lot of times we sit here and we go, how is that gonna move so many people with just a car you know at a time?
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: But I'm I'm interested to see how it all works.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: So, you know, I'm sure the numbers don't lie.
- 5:04Dayna Roselli: You can't come up with that if you don't have a plan.
- 5:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:07Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 5:08Dayna Roselli: So we'll see.
- 5:09Sean McAllister: Well, and once it is all up and running, that could become uh another iconic uh fixture of Las Vegas, much like the sphere has become since it uh was built and opened up uh just behind the Venetian resort.
- 5:24Sean McAllister: And uh one of our favorite things that we see on the outside on the exosphere are those emojis.
- 5:32Sean McAllister: Because they have them for just about every uh occasion, every morning, night, warm, cold.
- 5:39Sean McAllister: There's lots of emojis that we see.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, it rings in the new year.
- 5:43Dayna Roselli: We see all the pictures, I'm sure people have seen it, of like when folks are golfing at what the wind golf course.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: Yes, the emojis making faces, people fly by in helicopters and planes and get the emoji looking at them.
- 5:54Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, he drinks coffee.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: Well, I say he, I don't know, it's it it drinks coffee and um well puts its winter sweater on to be warm.
- 6:03Sean McAllister: It sweats in the summer, it puts on sunglasses, the really cool ones, and watches the F1 cars zip around it.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: And then also gets the tan lines around its eyes when it takes the sunglasses off.
- 6:15Dayna Roselli: Oh my god, it's just too fun.
- 6:16Dayna Roselli: There's Valentine's Day.
- 6:17Dayna Roselli: So anyway, it has officially has a name and it's a cute name, I think.
- 6:21Sean McAllister: It is Orby.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: Orbi, welcome.
- 6:24Sean McAllister: We loved you even before you had a name.
- 6:26Dayna Roselli: And for this big debut, the emoji had a little hello, my name is sticker on it that said, Hello, my name is Orbi.
- 6:35Dayna Roselli: So Orby has officially been introduced uh on the exosphere, and the whole world has welcomed Orby.
- 6:41Dayna Roselli: And now you can even get Orby merch.
- 6:44Dayna Roselli: They've opened this uh e-commerce site, and you can go to uh shop.thesphere.com if you want some Orby merch to go along with your day.
- 6:53Sean McAllister: I like Orby's name.
- 6:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I do too.
- 6:55Dayna Roselli: I think it's cute.
- 6:56Sean McAllister: And you know what else I like?
- 6:57Sean McAllister: That they didn't hold like a uh public uh poll to decide what Orby's name was gonna be.
- 7:05Sean McAllister: They just came up with a name and stuck with it.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: Hey, um, but uh talking about voting, just FYI, if you do love everything sphere and you want to take part in the student design contest voting, they are doing that right now.
- 7:19Dayna Roselli: The second annual Sphere EXO student design challenge is up to a vote.
- 7:24Dayna Roselli: So if you'd like to go look at some of the designs, it's thesphere.com backslash vote.
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: And you can vote worldwide.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: So you can just go on the website, anybody around the world, um, and you have to vote now through Monday, March 24th at 1159 p.m.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: Pacific time.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: So they have great designs.
- 7:42Sean McAllister: They really do.
- 7:43Sean McAllister: And if you're not familiar with this contest, uh Sphere has partnered with uh the Clark County School District, UNLV, with a whole bunch of different students, different age ranges uh here in southern Nevada.
- 7:55Sean McAllister: They're provided with some really uh cool cutting-edge uh technology, some VR goggles, you know, all the all the software that you need in order to design something for the exosphere.
- 8:09Sean McAllister: And they're given this opportunity to come up with uh their own unique artwork that is entered into this contest.
- 8:15Sean McAllister: And so that's what you're voting on, which is an incredible opportunity for students who are into art and design and digital technology.
- 8:25Sean McAllister: So that it's a really neat partnership, and I love that it came back for a second year.
- 8:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and um that it's all in um conjunction with Earth Day, so that's kind of the theme.
- 8:34Dayna Roselli: So yeah, get on there and vote and and have some fun.
- 8:37Dayna Roselli: Hey, you went over to check out Netflix Bites while I was gone, and this is a new experience, a one-year culinary residency over at MGM Grand.
- 8:46Dayna Roselli: Tell us about it.
- 8:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, this is really neat.
- 8:48Sean McAllister: So you sit at home on your couch binging all your favorite Netflix shows, and now you can go over to MGM Grand and experience them in a whole new way on your plate.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so how does this work?
- 9:02Sean McAllister: A bunch of different menu items that are inspired by some of the most popular shows on Netflix, whether it's Bridgerton, Squid Games, uh, Love is Blind.
- 9:14Sean McAllister: They have some cocktails from that are inspired by Love is Blind.
- 9:18Dayna Roselli: Are they did they use those glasses?
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: The are they using the okay, so when you watch Love is Blind, they use these annoying glasses that everyone comments on on social media, and they're like these thick aluminum glasses, so you can't see what's in the cup.
- 9:32Sean McAllister: Oh, well, they I feel like they probably have those.
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: Maybe I'm gonna go to the code.
- 9:35Sean McAllister: I didn't have one of the drinks, okay, but they said that the Love is Blind cocktail is like one of the most popular things at the bar.
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: We'll have to check that out.
- 9:45Sean McAllister: But for Bridgerton, there's a a tea service.
- 9:48Sean McAllister: It really is uh a neat partnership with MGM Grand and uh Netflix.
- 9:54Sean McAllister: And like you said, Dana, I did stop over there and got all the details.
- 9:58Sean McAllister: Okay, so Netflix Bytes is now open here at MGM Grand.
- 10:02Sean McAllister: How did this partnership come about?
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, we are the entertainment authority, and to partner with Netflix, which is a great brand, uh, loves lots of great uh different shows that we could connect with, it really was just an easy knock out of the park kind of partnership.
- 10:18Sean McAllister: And uh what was the conversation?
- 10:19Sean McAllister: When was it MGM going to Netflix, or did Netflix say, hey, we've got this great activation?
- 10:26Sean McAllister: Are you interested?
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, Netflix had a uh Netflix uh show, or excuse me, a Netflix restaurant in LA.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: And so when we found out about that partnership, it was kind of between the two of us to kind of meet in the middle.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Um, we thought it would be great to bring them here, and they thought it would be great to be here.
- 10:42Sean McAllister: And obviously, for the Vegas audience, this is about as exciting as people can get.
- 10:48Sean McAllister: They watch these shows at home and then they come to Vegas and eat and experience the show.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Well, that's actually been the most fun part about this, is we've as we opened last week, people are actually coming in and they're seeing all the pictures, they're seeing all the different shows that are listed on the menu, and they're fully connected and just on board immediately.
- 11:06Sean McAllister: And have there been uh favorites on the menu that have uh started to stand out even this early on?
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: Well, that's what I wanted to show you today.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: One of our biggest standouts is the red bite, green bite, and that's a feature from Squid Games, and it actually has Young Lee, who's the little doll that turns around and stops doing the red light and green light game.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: People are loving it, and the smiles on their faces when they see it, it's just it's been uh just a home run.
- 11:31Sean McAllister: So this is interactive dining.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: And I think that in Vegas, that's what people expect.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: They expect an experience, not just great food, not just great service.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: They want to be able to put something on the table that they can Instagram, that they can showcase to send their friends back home.
- 11:46Sean McAllister: And what shows are represented on the menu here?
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: There are a lot of shows.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Um I just mentioned Squid Games, but um House of Cards, um, or excuse me, House of Usher.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: We also have um WWE, which people really love our Smash Burger right now.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: One Piece is a big one too.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: There are so many shows that actually learning the brands were a lot of fun for us because Netflix gave our staff free Netflix membership so we can all learn about the shows.
- 12:13Sean McAllister: That's a pretty good word.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: It was.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: And actually, our staff really enjoyed learning about it, and they're the ones who are having the most fun too.
- 12:21Sean McAllister: And is there, um now that the the staff is being completely engrossed in um Netflix productions, I mean, is there some brainstorming going on to come up with new concepts too?
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: I think that's what has been most fun about this, is that it's not just what we're doing today, it's what we're gonna do next month or the following month.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: Is what else can we bring to the table?
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Because we've gotten so creative in this partnership.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: There's so much more opportunity, and we're really looking forward to it.
- 12:46Sean McAllister: And I have to imagine Bridgerton is in the mix too somewhere.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: So that's what's fun about Bridgerton too.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: So we do have a this afternoon tea, which we do at night as well, but we have full tea service, we've got macaroons, we've got some of the sandwiches for music.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: I think guests are really gonna like that, and we're actually gonna see if guests will come dressed up as Bridgerton, and that's gonna be fun too, because you will totally be welcome to do that.
- 13:09Sean McAllister: So that's encouraged.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Like any costumes you have.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: Um, we did have a night where we brought in some of the guards from Squid Games, and they have the pink uniforms, and that was really fun, and the pictures were just incredible.
- 13:21Sean McAllister: I love that.
- 13:22Sean McAllister: Um, what's been your favorite on the menu?
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: Well, I really like the tacos on another menu too, but I think the whole tasting experience, and we do do um with um Chef David uh Ching, we do do a um a whole series with his dinner and with some of his steaks and some of his chicken.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: Like, so that stuff has been really fun for us too.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: And what's been um the reaction from guests who have come in and interacted and dined.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: Actually, from the from the minute you walk into the building and you see the big, big lips that say Netflix bites on it, it's just that odd experience.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: I think some people thought it was a Netflix museum at first and didn't realize it was a restaurant, but it's a full restaurant.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: We're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which is really nice too.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: And we're open late on Friday and Saturday.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: So the guest reaction has just been super warm and welcoming, and they're having a lot of fun.
- 14:14Dayna Roselli: And we'll be having this on a TV show, but what does it look like inside?
- 14:17Sean McAllister: I mean, it is bright orange and pink, and it is a colorful place.
- 14:23Dayna Roselli: It's very vegas.
- 14:24Sean McAllister: Very vagus.
- 14:25Sean McAllister: When you walk into the casino from the MGM Grand lobby, uh, you're kind of staring straight at Netflix bites.
- 14:33Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 14:33Sean McAllister: So you come into the casino, it's just a straight shot ahead of you.
- 14:37Sean McAllister: And you hop in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, what a great new attraction for MGM Grand.
- 14:42Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 14:43Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh, they are making use of the Formula One area outside of race time.
- 14:50Dayna Roselli: I love this.
- 14:51Dayna Roselli: North America's largest Formula One attraction opening here in Las Vegas on March 29th.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: We kind of told you about this way back, but it's a partnership with Round Room Live, and it's set within the 39-acre Grand Prix Plaza and it features three different ticketed attractions.
- 15:09Dayna Roselli: And I think this is a great idea to make use of that area they basically had to build up, you know, the building and everything.
- 15:16Sean McAllister: Well, this is the one a permanent part of uh the Formula One track.
- 15:21Sean McAllister: Obviously, we know every fall that we hear a lot about it, the track gets set up, and then before the new year it's torn back down again, and there's a lot that's said about that.
- 15:32Sean McAllister: But um the Grand Prix Plaza is here all year round.
- 15:36Sean McAllister: It's a beautiful building, and now they're uh letting you go there for the first time in off-track hours.
- 15:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it it's apparently gonna have like this virtual track that looks really fun.
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: They have an F1 karting experience, they have a store with uh area with elevated food and beverage offerings and much more.
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: I mean, they've got a bunch of different things you can do.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: So if you just want to go hang out over there.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: Um but it is three ticketed attractions.
- 16:06Dayna Roselli: So if you just want to go do one, you can.
- 16:08Sean McAllister: Yes, and you can do that.
- 16:09Sean McAllister: Uh you can go to grandpreeplaza.com um to see more about these individual attractions and to get your tickets ahead of time.
- 16:20Sean McAllister: Um it's really cool.
- 16:22Sean McAllister: The attraction will close for the season in late summer so that they can start preparing for the actual race with um reopening dates that'll be decided down the line.
- 16:34Sean McAllister: But I I I'm excited about this.
- 16:36Sean McAllister: I think it's a really great use of that facility.
- 16:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but new attractions uh bring more people to Vegas, so love it.
- 16:43Dayna Roselli: Hey, you know, I didn't know Keanu Reeves was in a band.
- 16:46Dayna Roselli: How about that?
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: Did you?
- 16:48Sean McAllister: I don't think that I did.
- 16:50Dayna Roselli: Well, he is, and they're coming to Fountain Blue for one performance only.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: April 26th at 8 p.m.
- 16:58Dayna Roselli: It's called Dogstar.
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: It's an alternative rock trio.
- 17:02Dayna Roselli: Um, and let's see, the band features guitarist and vocalist Brett Domrose, drummer Rob Malhouse, and bassist Keanu Reeves.
- 17:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that Keanu Reeves.
- 17:14Dayna Roselli: So they're coming to town.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: April 26th, if you want to go see Dogstar.
- 17:19Sean McAllister: Interesting.
- 17:20Sean McAllister: Well, well done, Keanu.
- 17:21Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 17:22Sean McAllister: I wanna I want to hear some of that music.
- 17:24Sean McAllister: I'm interested now.
- 17:25Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, let's keep with the music here.
- 17:28Sean McAllister: Uh Las Vegas is gonna play host to one of the largest gatherings of hit songwriters that we have ever seen here.
- 17:37Sean McAllister: This is a really neat thing.
- 17:38Sean McAllister: For the first time ever, the Las Vegas Songwriters Festival is coming to Mandalay Bay.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's coming in August, so you've got a heads up.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: This event will take place, let's see, August 21st to the 24th, so end of summer.
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: Now, I was reading about this and I thought, what a great idea.
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: So it's all these songwriters that are behind all these major hits from major artists, and uh they basically are going to do performances, live performances, and then they're gonna do QA sessions and have storytelling sessions where people can ask questions about where did the song originate from and at what was your thinking behind it and all that.
- 18:15Dayna Roselli: I mean, what a cool thing.
- 18:17Sean McAllister: It really is.
- 18:18Sean McAllister: And this seems like it's uh kind of you know how over at Mandalay Bay they have the the Nashville Unplugged series?
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: Well, some of those folks are part of it.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: I was reading in the press release, yes.
- 18:28Sean McAllister: And I was gonna say, this is like uh Nashville Unplugged on a large scale.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: And I wonder if they had a lot to do with it and maybe even the idea and concept.
- 18:38Sean McAllister: Um because Nashville Unplugged is uh fantastic.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's similar where they do country songs, but it's the song writers.
- 18:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, okay.
- 18:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, so you get the behind-the-scenes stories of these big hit songs.
- 18:51Sean McAllister: Now they're bringing in more songwriters to take part in this festival, and we can all be there and uh take part in it and listen to some darn good music.
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it sounds great.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: So if you want more information, go to Vegas Songwriters.com and you can learn more all about it.
- 19:09Dayna Roselli: Um, see how you can take part if you want.
- 19:11Dayna Roselli: But I love it.
- 19:12Dayna Roselli: I I just think it's so great to, I don't know, have a gathering of, you know, the songwriters that act make so many of these hit songs happen.
- 19:21Dayna Roselli: Like people don't realize.
- 19:22Dayna Roselli: I mean, there are a lot of artists that write their own music, but there's some that need the songwriters because that's how it works.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: And and there's a lot of you know, sometimes they don't get the the accolade.
- 19:32Sean McAllister: Yes, it's time for the songwriters to step into the spotlight and have that star moment because a lot of times uh they're spending their entire career behind the scenes.
- 19:43Sean McAllister: You know, and the the big A-list right music name gets all the credit.
- 19:48Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 19:49Sean McAllister: But here in Las Vegas, it's the songwriters.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: I know, and you know, they they want to tell their story, like this is why I wrote this song or whatever.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: So, and I thought it would be perfect for so-and-so.
- 19:59Dayna Roselli: Right, you know, Keith Urban or whatever.
- 20:01Dayna Roselli: Um, so anyway, that'll be really cool.
- 20:03Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh, let's do some tips now.
- 20:08Sean McAllister: Dana, you went to a restaurant that I am I'm envious that I was not able to go the night that you went because it looked absolutely fabulous.
- 20:18Dayna Roselli: This was like the one Vegas thing I snuck in in the last two and a half months.
- 20:21Dayna Roselli: And so yeah, I was like, haven't I talked about this already?
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: And you were like, No, I'm like, oh gosh, I haven't been here.
- 20:27Dayna Roselli: We haven't been here.
- 20:27Dayna Roselli: So, okay, so Sorolina.
- 20:29Dayna Roselli: I went to Sorolina and it's a great new neighborhood Italian restaurant.
- 20:33Dayna Roselli: It's in the southwest part of Las Vegas.
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: Sorlina means little sister in Italian.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: Now it's so, first of all, I don't even know how to it's like you're it's comfortable and it feels like family, but it's also nice inside, but also cozy.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: It's just got such a great vibe.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: I really loved it.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: The food was great, the pasta was wonderful, but I have to talk about this signature drink I had there, Sean.
- 21:01Dayna Roselli: It is called the Dirty Bambino.
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: It was so incredible.
- 21:05Dayna Roselli: Now I love dirty martinis, you do too.
- 21:07Sean McAllister: Oh, is this a martini?
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: Oh my god, did I not tell you about this yet?
- 21:11Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 21:12Dayna Roselli: It's an it's a take on the classic dirty martini, but with house-made parmesan infused vodka.
- 21:20Sean McAllister: What?
- 21:21Dayna Roselli: So I'm talking, you sip this and it tastes like you're sipping a blue cheese olive.
- 21:27Dayna Roselli: I it was so good.
- 21:29Dayna Roselli: My I I almost just started drooling.
- 21:31Dayna Roselli: Like I was thinking my mouth is filling with saliva.
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: We need to drive there this weekend, I think.
- 21:37Dayna Roselli: I think Uber there.
- 21:38Dayna Roselli: A good Mart Martini.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: Um it was so good.
- 21:43Dayna Roselli: And you know, I was talking to some of the owners as they were coming out, and they were like, Oh, yeah, like this this Parmesan infused vibe, like it sits like I don't know if she said all day or all week or whatever, um, infusing the flavors.
- 21:55Dayna Roselli: It's delicious.
- 21:57Dayna Roselli: It's wonderful.
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: Um, I have a little video.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: On our Instagram, if you want to go look at it.
- 22:02Sean McAllister: Go for the dirty bambino and stay for the delicious food.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: Go for the dirty bambino.
- 22:07Dayna Roselli: Start with some bread.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: Get an appetizer.
- 22:10Dayna Roselli: Uh I think we had the burrata, it was delicious.
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: We had some pasta.
- 22:14Dayna Roselli: It all of it was great.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: And I just I highly recommend it.
- 22:18Dayna Roselli: Pretty lights in there, the whole nine.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: If you want and and I it's great.
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: It's in this cute little plaza.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: And you know, it's in an area that I think needs more restaurants.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: So I think this is wonderful.
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: But I say if you're visiting Las Vegas, it would be uh definitely worth a trip from the strip.
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: I think it's great.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: Um, it's now open for dinner seven days a week, 5 p.m.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: until late.
- 22:36Sean McAllister: And maybe uh that is uh an unscripted tip here is that when you do come to Las Vegas, make sure that you get off the strip because we have some incredible restaurants away from the hubbub of the resort corridor.
- 22:52Sean McAllister: So be sure to venture out and that's a thing and find some of these places.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: Because a lot of people will, you know, in when you go on vacation or whatever, you write someone if you know them in the town and say, you know, what are what do the locals do?
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: Where do the locals go?
- 23:05Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 23:05Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 23:06Dayna Roselli: And so this could, you know, even if you put one thing on your list, it's great.
- 23:09Dayna Roselli: Or if you return to Vegas over and over, you know, and you want to venture out more.
- 23:12Dayna Roselli: Maybe if you're coming to Vegas for the first time ever, you know, I get it.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: There's a lot to do on the strip and you can't venture off.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: But um, we I like we have a lot of locals that listen to the podcast too.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: So I definitely recommend going over there.
- 23:23Sean McAllister: All right.
- 23:23Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, here's a ticket deal for you that we wanted to mention.
- 23:27Sean McAllister: Uh Carrot Top is doing a ticket deal,$40 tickets, because it is his 40th year in comedy.
- 23:35Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, I can't believe it.
- 23:37Sean McAllister: He started when he was 20.
- 23:39Sean McAllister: That means he's 60, Dana.
- 23:41Dayna Roselli: He just turned 60 in February.
- 23:43Dayna Roselli: I don't know how that's possible.
- 23:45Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: How did Carrot Top turn 60?
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: I don't know, but he's the king of props, is what they call him.
- 23:51Dayna Roselli: And let me tell you, you and I talk about this.
- 23:52Dayna Roselli: I've seen him so many times, and every time I literally cry tears laughing.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: He's hilarious.
- 23:58Dayna Roselli: He is so funny.
- 24:00Sean McAllister: I used to watch his special.
- 24:01Sean McAllister: Remember when he used to do those HBO specials back in the day?
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 24:06Sean McAllister: Like growing up, I remember watching his comedy specials.
- 24:09Dayna Roselli: We weren't allowed to have HBO in the Roselli household.
- 24:11Sean McAllister: Oh, okay.
- 24:12Sean McAllister: Was that a little too too risky?
- 24:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we didn't have cable.
- 24:15Dayna Roselli: I grew up with no cable, only the four channels, and we had to be outside playing, and we could only watch, you know, what was on the four channels.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: That was enough TV.
- 24:25Dayna Roselli: We didn't need all that extra.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: So anyway, no, I didn't see the comedy specials.
- 24:29Dayna Roselli: I saw them in the ATT commercials.
- 24:31Sean McAllister: Oh, there we go.
- 24:32Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: And then I wondered, what was this guy all about?
- 24:35Dayna Roselli: And then I used to see him on a lot of the late night shows.
- 24:38Dayna Roselli: He was always on and still is.
- 24:39Sean McAllister: Oh, he was always on with Carson and yeah.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: And yeah, all that.
- 24:45Dayna Roselli: Um, so anyway, he is wonderful.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: He's doing a ticket special because he's been in 40 years of comedy, as Sean said, uh, 40 bucks on select Sundays and weekdays.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: Now I'm gonna put a link in the show notes because it's kind of a long link to get there just to make sure you activate that special.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: You'll see the window pop up that'll say you're activated for the$40.
- 25:03Dayna Roselli: And then you can browse around.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: So I'll put the link in.
- 25:05Dayna Roselli: It's on the Luxor's website.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: But he's over at Luxor, by the way, and he's been there for such a long time.
- 25:10Dayna Roselli: But before that, he uh I think was over at MJM Grand.
- 25:13Dayna Roselli: And it's just so funny.
- 25:15Dayna Roselli: He uses props and he changes the show.
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: I mean, and the thing is, with the world today, I mean, there's always been stuff, but with the world today, you know, in social media, how like there's a hot topic that everyone's stuck on every day.
- 25:29Dayna Roselli: He literally incorporates it into his show.
- 25:31Sean McAllister: I was just gonna say, he used to come on our uh morning show, the morning TV show.
- 25:36Sean McAllister: Yeah, and he would have he would it he would come on with a prop that he like whipped up overnight.
- 25:43Sean McAllister: And like you were saying, it went with whatever the big headline of the day was.
- 25:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, right.
- 25:48Sean McAllister: He is so smart, so witty.
- 25:50Sean McAllister: He comes up with these ideas that are are just I don't know, my mind doesn't think like that.
- 25:56Dayna Roselli: No, his does.
- 25:57Sean McAllister: His does, thank goodness.
- 25:58Sean McAllister: He's a queer.
- 25:59Sean McAllister: He's a show because of it.
- 26:00Sean McAllister: Long running show.
- 26:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 26:02Dayna Roselli: He's funny to follow on social media.
- 26:04Dayna Roselli: And his name is Scott, by the way.
- 26:05Dayna Roselli: We see him around town all the time.
- 26:07Dayna Roselli: He loves his Sunday brunches.
- 26:08Dayna Roselli: We see him around at uh Sunday brunch and um he's great.
- 26:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think we saw him Super Bowl too.
- 26:13Dayna Roselli: Remember, we were at Super Bowl week, and he's a lot of fun.
- 26:16Dayna Roselli: He just was at the Keep Memory Alive gala too.
- 26:19Dayna Roselli: I think I saw him on the red carpet there.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: So hey, if you're looking for shows, go to Vegas near me and download the app.

- 27:45Dayna Roselli: Um, listen, I'm back, Sean's back.
- 27:48Dayna Roselli: I'm trying my best to dive into everything.
- 27:50Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be a little slow go, but um yeah, Vegas is a happening place.
- 27:54Dayna Roselli: And when you come back and you're away and you're in this different mode, it does take a little, takes a little bit to get back into it.
- 28:03Sean McAllister: It does.
- 28:03Sean McAllister: It's overwhelming, and you have to get into a rhythm in order to like manage all of it.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: I'm not re I don't know if I'm ready to throw on my high heels yet, you know?
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, so uh oh in the full makeup and all that that I normally do when I go out, but I'm slowly getting there.
