- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville, Jack Wars fans, welcome in to Dove All Daily, presented by Genjag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga, thanks so much for being here Tuesday.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: December 16th, right now we're talking about Basial Tutans injury.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: He has a finger injury that is going to require surgery, unfortunately, and he is expected to be back for the playoffs.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: This is a report from NFL Network, I believe.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see who it's from here.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: But either way, yeah, Mike Garifolo of NFL Network says, Jaguar is working running back basaltoot and will undergo surgery to repair a finger injury suffered and the Jaguar is went over the jets, sources tell me and rap sheet, he'll miss a few weeks, but should be back for the playoffs.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: That would indicate like back for the start of the playoffs, but that's not very clear based on the report.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to dive into what this means for the Jaguar's basaltooten.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: everybody involved really appreciate y'all be in here if you enjoy the content please like and subscribe and i'll just check out jenjag.com pick up some new dooval gear help support the channel look good while doing it so basial tootin jackwars running back he is not the jackwars starting running back i would say he's a jackwars top return man kick returner right now so that's a little bit of a you know
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: I guess issue you could say, I think he's not a good returner for the Jack Wars.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like, numbers wise, I don't, I don't know the exact numbers here for him.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, he's averaging what on, on how many key returns he had.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: 19 kick returns, he's averaging.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: 28 yards per kick return I don't know how impressive that number is overall compared to like other players but he's had some big returns.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's has longer turns of 54, 30, 41, 39, 43.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's had some explosive returns.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's for sure.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: And so they'll definitely miss him on the special teams aspect of it.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: I do think that the Jack Wars with Heath far well being
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: the amount of just quality special teamers that they do have.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: Lee Quint Allen, obviously, has also returned some kicks for the Jag wars and he's back there often as well, so it's not like they're bereft of talent.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Parker Washington can go back there if you need him to do that as well.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's like some massive, massive issue for the jags.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: You lose a little bit of explosiveness on your kick or turn team.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: So, special teams, why is that's where you're at?
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a worry at all, really, on coverage.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like, he's not one of the more impactful guys on coverage.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: But you look at offense.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar's offense has been absolutely humming over the last.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: Really, I mean, the last month, but the last, since the by week, the last seven games, the Jaguars are averaging 33 points per game, absurd, absolutely absurd.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: And Tutan, awesome catch the other day against the jets, going up and getting it.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: He was wide open, but it wasn't a perfectly thrown ball by Trevor Lawrence and Tutan said it don't matter.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Going up and getting it, and he did.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: So that was really cool to see.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's had some games where he was featured heavily as a runner against the Chargers, obviously that game got out of hand quickly.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: He averaged 4.9 yards per carry against them on 15 carries, but that's the only time he's had more than 10 carries in a game.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't think you're necessarily losing this high volume player, right, for the remainder of the regular season.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to lose your number two back, which is what he is.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: He's your number two back right now, and he's your top kicker turner.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to lose that player.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: But overall, do I think that this should massively impact the Jaguar's ability to compete on special teams or on offense?
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think that Lee Quint Allen has proven that he can be a capable number two down the stretch here.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a quality runner.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's a great, great pass protector.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: And he's just a guy you want on the field.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: because of his attitude, because of the way he approaches football, because of the the violence that he wants to bring, and you know, that's not bad.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: And you also obviously have Travis E.T.N.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: and I think that you'll see Travis E.T.N.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: and Lee Quay Allen get an uptick and an overall usage.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you could potentially see Jekwinden Jackson up from the practice squad.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: And Jekwinden is not a similar player to Baseltoot and they're not the same archetype at all.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: Jekwinden is a big physical bruiser of a back, but you could see him up.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: You could see the Jaguars potentially at a back.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: They had Cody Shrader for a while.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: He came over and he had experience with some of these guys from L.A. and the Jags ended up moving on from him.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: He went over to Houston for a minute.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: Now he's actually with the Broncos, of course.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Broncos, John Peyton, trying to get some insight from Cody Shrader, I'm not too concerned with that overall, but it is a Sean Peyton type of move.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: He is
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's a little bit of a dog, and he said the part you don't say out loud when the jack Wars were interested in trading for Devon Valle, he was like asked about the different landing spots, and he said he liked all the landing spots, you know, Jacksonville, he was interested, and he didn't have a problem with any of the landing spots, so he was like kind of complimentary of the jack wars, but also like you don't talk about that generally.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: the head coach of a team that trades a player doesn't normally put out, who the teams were, were, you were in talks with about trading a player.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: So when that happened earlier this year, I was like, you know, if I was James Gladstone, Liam Cohen and company, that would rub me the wrong way a little bit, that would piss me off a little bit.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a big deal.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it was like a secret around the league that the Jaguars were interested in acquiring another receiver, but it's just like totally unnecessary.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think Champagne knows that.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I also think he likes to rub people, or like he likes to try to get under your skin a little bit mind games.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about Sean Payton, Denver Broncos, where it's a Jaguar's a lot throughout this week.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: I just wanted to talk about racial tuton.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: And again, the good news is, even though you're losing the explosiveness and some of the consistency that he can bring as a runner and obviously as a returner,
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: You have Travis H.T.N., you have Lee Quint Allen, and Tudon should be back for the playoffs.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: Now does that mean he's back for a wild card round?
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you've got a little under four weeks until the wild card round, and obviously that's assuming the Jaguars don't get the one seed and get a buy, which is possible that they could still not out of the realm of possibility at all.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's more likely that I think the Jaguars will be playing wildcard weekend more likely than not.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: And so, will he be back for that?
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, even if he is technically recovered, like will he be ready to go with the finger injury like is he going to have to have a cast?
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's not like you can put him out there the same way you can put a defensive alignment out there with a little bit of a
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: a shell on the on the hand or cast or whatever it is like as a running back you need your hands.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: You can't go out there running back and I have both hands in my opinion so it's got to be like really recovered ready to go for him to be able to play in my mind so we'll see.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Not great news for facial.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: not great news for the jags you want to have him out there you want to have all your guys but also not like a tremendous loss just in terms of what his role is right now and your ability to fulfill that role with the players you currently have on your team.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: It is kind of crazy though just seeing the Jaguar's injuries with their rookie class this year.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: My loom missed a bunch of time, rants on miss the whole year.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: My clouds missed in the whole year.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like, I mean, yeah, I don't, I think he's done.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: You know, now seeing obviously, toot and go down for some stretch, Jack Kaiser, I think had to be attended to, you just haven't had a huge impact from your rookie class this year, which is fine.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're all good players.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, there's some people that have been really critical
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: But I think all of those guys can play in this league.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think all of them will help the Jaguars over the next several years.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not concerned with it.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Just kind of an unfortunate situation with the injuries with the rookies this year.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: But everything's still in front of the Jaguars and Tutan hopefully we'll get to see him play football again this year.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
