- 0:20Speaker 1: You want. Don't know why? Why? Because when the z
- 0:23Speaker 1: is away, the Wookie will play and these are always
- 0:28Speaker 1: better episodes. But what's going on? Everybody? I am the one,
- 0:32Speaker 1: the only, the w O O K I E. Joined here. Wow,
- 0:37Speaker 1: we lost half the misfits. God just z gone. We
- 0:44Speaker 1: don't know why, We don't know what happened. Maybe we do,
- 0:48Speaker 1: but I'm gonna say we don't know what happened. Ogre gone.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I don't know what happened. Zach gone. I can't even
- 0:57Speaker 1: make fun of that. I think I made fun of
- 0:58Speaker 1: Zach too much. That's what it was.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Now. We can't ever make fun of someone too much.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yes, Zach, I made fun of Zach too much, and
- 1:07Speaker 1: now he's gone. But there's the three of us. I'm
- 1:11Speaker 1: the one, the only, the w O O K I E.
- 1:15Speaker 1: We got Dexter, Hello, Hello, and we got uh. This
- 1:19Speaker 1: is basically going to be the Cole Cole Robbie Show.
- 1:23Speaker 1: He is returning from Pax Unplugged, where we kind of
- 1:26Speaker 1: had our second big altered event of the year, probably
- 1:32Speaker 1: the last one of the year. Also, PAX is always
- 1:35Speaker 1: a PAX is always a weird, weird event, right, just
- 1:41Speaker 1: because it's it's always at the end of the year.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It's in a really weird it's it's just it's at
- 1:46Speaker 1: a weird time. You're like, you're fighting holidays, but yet
- 1:50Speaker 1: somehow pax still does a thing.
- 1:53Speaker 3: They're range a Christmas market that caused a lot of
- 1:58Speaker 3: trouble for us the first day, being stuck in a
- 2:02Speaker 3: loop and uh, people in Philly drive pretty crazy. I
- 2:08Speaker 3: would say, the only place I've been where people drive
- 2:13Speaker 3: as wild is San Francisco.
- 2:15Speaker 1: So have you ever been to New York?
- 2:20Speaker 3: I have not been to New York yet?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Some crazy more shut your mouth.
- 2:27Speaker 3: It was like the light goes green if you're not
- 2:30Speaker 3: already going while the light's green, Just everyone starts talking.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Oh that sounds like that sounds like Milwaukee. I had
- 2:37Speaker 1: it just today, or the light the light turned green
- 2:39Speaker 1: and like, I like, my foot wasn't on the gas.
- 2:42Speaker 1: So the guy beeped at me. I'm like, can I
- 2:44Speaker 1: have the four seconds it takes to move my foot
- 2:46Speaker 1: from the break to the gas please?
- 2:48Speaker 3: Thank you, But yeah, you also need to move your
- 2:51Speaker 3: phone away from the technology.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Yeah. But we have our unique of the Week, which
- 2:59Speaker 1: is supposed to be done by Olger True Dexter.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Let's have your right out. I can read this first,
- 3:09Speaker 3: since you were looking at it all.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Right, So we've got a three from hand, three from reserve, Esmerelda.
- 3:15Speaker 2: This Esmerelda is in Muna instead of the normal Ira.
- 3:19Speaker 2: It has three stats in grass, zero stats in mountain,
- 3:22Speaker 2: and two stats in water, enters from anywhere, it gains
- 3:25Speaker 2: one boost, and then enters from reserve. You may put
- 3:29Speaker 2: a card from your hand in reserve, and if you do,
- 3:31Speaker 2: you can resupply when a character you control gains one
- 3:36Speaker 2: or more boosts up to one target character with hand
- 3:39Speaker 2: costs three or less. Other than me gains anchored. So
- 3:44Speaker 2: the first half of the card cool, you're maybe resupplying
- 3:47Speaker 2: or maybe getting a boost. Well, you are getting a boost.
- 3:49Speaker 2: But that last part of the text is a really
- 3:52Speaker 2: important part because whenever anyone gets a boost, you get
- 3:55Speaker 2: to anchor someone. And that's what we really really are
- 3:58Speaker 2: looking for in Muna. And like this is just a
- 4:00Speaker 2: perfect example of like what we were talking about one
- 4:03Speaker 2: of the previous weeks about like the moon unique you're
- 4:07Speaker 2: anchoring stuff.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Is this thing on hello she self fulfills, Yes, yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 1: it's helf fulfills.
- 4:18Speaker 2: He gets a boost. And then Tasia also Tasia has
- 4:23Speaker 2: whenever are the first creature you play each turn gets
- 4:26Speaker 2: a boost, so that would also trigger here. So yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 2: it will self fulfill anchor itself and the next turn
- 4:33Speaker 2: the first character you play will also get anchored. And
- 4:36Speaker 2: that's gonna happen every turn.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Yep.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Uh what a quarter in the jar for saying creature
- 4:42Speaker 3: though character my fault.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, I say creature. It's still the same thing, right,
- 4:56Speaker 1: Like that's that's that's a bad habit for magic.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Yeah. So the the fun part of this unique is
- 5:05Speaker 3: it is actually altered new Community Managers unique that we
- 5:10Speaker 3: saw at packs. We were playing a twov two game
- 5:15Speaker 3: and she put this down and it was in French
- 5:18Speaker 3: so we had to look it up. And then when
- 5:22Speaker 3: we looked it up, we were like, oh my god,
- 5:24Speaker 3: this is insane.
- 5:26Speaker 1: So uh, way to do it in English? Like if
- 5:31Speaker 1: you have a card in another language, you can order
- 5:33Speaker 1: it from the market in your language.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, once they have print on, that's very easy
- 5:39Speaker 2: to do. Yep.
- 5:41Speaker 3: And for tournaments that is another way the QR code helps.
- 5:46Speaker 3: If your opponent needs to scan the cards so that
- 5:49Speaker 3: they can read it. They can read the English version
- 5:53Speaker 3: in the app, and.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I mean, we do see like soon on the website
- 6:00Speaker 2: now for both market and print on demand. Those little
- 6:02Speaker 2: Soon markers weren't there before.
- 6:04Speaker 3: And I don't even know.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I thought that Soon's been there on the market for
- 6:09Speaker 1: some time.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Okay, maybe it's just new on the print on demand.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Then you're not very are.
- 6:18Speaker 2: I'm not good at information.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'm not good stuff.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Yeah, your your information is all being in college. So
- 6:27Speaker 3: just make sure you get good grades and then we.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Get good grades in school. Don't do drugs, say your prayers,
- 6:36Speaker 1: eat your vitamins. Bonus points.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Party or two though.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Yeah, bonus points if you understand all those references. But
- 6:48Speaker 1: this seems pretty busted now.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yep, very good unique.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Why can't I get this in lit?
- 6:55Speaker 3: Yeah? I love it for Muna, it's one of I
- 7:00Speaker 3: say that there is somebody out there who wants a
- 7:03Speaker 3: card specifically like this and would pay money to get
- 7:07Speaker 3: three of them. Fell in the live chat over on
- 7:12Speaker 3: Discord says perfect for our June problem if no one
- 7:17Speaker 3: plays our junees. So it's perfect for Tasia.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Yep, it's it's also great for Tasia.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Well, and moons for the Goose is good for the
- 7:25Speaker 1: gander now.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it has angering. Yeah, it has the three nature,
- 7:32Speaker 3: it has resupply. It would also be good for rin
- 7:36Speaker 3: rinstable is actually pretty pretty good, right yeah, yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 1: All right, so that's our unique of the week. We
- 7:49Speaker 1: all like it. Mm shocker, yep, great. I think we
- 7:53Speaker 1: need more bad uniques of the week. Like we're all like, yep,
- 7:57Speaker 1: it's good, feel bad hard right, Like it's always like yep,
- 8:02Speaker 1: this one seems good, and it's like, why, well, it
- 8:06Speaker 1: checks all the boxes, right, like it self suffills, it
- 8:09Speaker 1: self fulfills and it does what the chosen what faction
- 8:14Speaker 1: wants to do. But like some of the bad ones
- 8:19Speaker 1: are like wolf.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Yeah. At packs, we did a draft and we decided
- 8:27Speaker 3: to draft into two v two and one of the
- 8:30Speaker 3: packs I opened it had it had a unique in it.
- 8:36Speaker 3: And whenever you pull a unique in draft, you usually
- 8:39Speaker 3: say something, but you don't, you don't show it. And
- 8:44Speaker 3: I looked at this card and it was ritous, and
- 8:47Speaker 3: I was like, I'm going to do it. I'm going
- 8:50Speaker 3: to do it, and I passed on it. I handled
- 8:53Speaker 3: it to the next person.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Yes, I did it bad, So I I would say
- 9:03Speaker 4: it's bad because when you have a unique, you usually
- 9:08Speaker 4: if it's not you know, really good.
- 9:11Speaker 3: You want it to be a character you don't usually
- 9:15Speaker 3: want to play in your deck. So this was a
- 9:18Speaker 3: quests which you absolutely are going to play in most
- 9:24Speaker 3: I did. I did, But it was the exact same
- 9:29Speaker 3: as the normal and just had one star.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Uh.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I don't know, because.
- 9:37Speaker 2: If it's same as a rare and has one more
- 9:39Speaker 2: stat it's completely played.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it was just it had no extra ability, It
- 9:44Speaker 3: had no extra flair. It took me a second to
- 9:49Speaker 3: find out how it was even different.
- 9:50Speaker 1: But still shifts a slot.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Nope, garbage. I throw it away.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Like what he said, like it chips the slot. You don't.
- 10:02Speaker 1: She's a rare slot. Now I don't got to use
- 10:03Speaker 1: the rare.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Yeah, but you might as well use the rare.
- 10:08Speaker 2: You just said it.
- 10:09Speaker 1: But I don't.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Now, I don't have only fifteen places.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Those are rare slots are covered in slots and deck building.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Yep.
- 10:18Speaker 3: I think the next person also passed on it.
- 10:21Speaker 1: No, I don't believe you. Wow, Now I'm going to
- 10:24Speaker 1: tell you that you are one hundred percent.
- 10:25Speaker 2: That is crazy.
- 10:27Speaker 1: That guy was like, this is more on past this take.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Uh, Katie might have picked it up, but I cannot remember.
- 10:37Speaker 3: But it's arts. I would sooner just throw it in
- 10:40Speaker 3: the recycl I need you.
- 10:41Speaker 2: To message worth more than any rare and.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Said, I'm gonna need you to message Katie right now
- 10:46Speaker 1: and find out if she passed on it or not,
- 10:48Speaker 1: because there's no way.
- 10:51Speaker 3: All right, I will, I will get on that.
- 10:53Speaker 1: We're gonna need an update here by the end of
- 10:55Speaker 1: the show, all right, Why I suck it altered decks?
- 11:01Speaker 2: Yeah, so I don't play a whole lot of Muna,
- 11:04Speaker 2: but I do play some, and uh, I've been bit
- 11:07Speaker 2: way too many times for holding the dang dragons. So
- 11:12Speaker 2: and other similar scenarios have happened to It's just holding
- 11:16Speaker 2: big cards is often going to bite you in the
- 11:20Speaker 2: butt too much if you keep them early on when
- 11:22Speaker 2: you can't play them, or even if it's just holding
- 11:25Speaker 2: it for one turn, manating another like low cost card
- 11:30Speaker 2: hurts your curve and hurts the amount of cards that
- 11:32Speaker 2: you can play, especially if you're low on hand size.
- 11:36Speaker 2: So knowing when to get rid of the big cost
- 11:39Speaker 2: cards or even like key cards that you want that
- 11:42Speaker 2: aren't super big but don't work for your curve at
- 11:44Speaker 2: the moment is important, and just making it so that
- 11:47Speaker 2: your curve works, seems like it's more important to me
- 11:51Speaker 2: in a lot of cases. And another game I was
- 11:55Speaker 2: playing with Akisha, the build that Cole hates, and I
- 12:00Speaker 2: drew multiple of the bastions early on, and I had
- 12:04Speaker 2: to get rid of them because keeping them would just
- 12:07Speaker 2: slow me down too much and make it so I
- 12:09Speaker 2: didn't have cards to play. So getting rid of the
- 12:11Speaker 2: big cards hurts. And you want to keep the big
- 12:15Speaker 2: cards to have the big play, but you can't beat
- 12:18Speaker 2: Timmy all the time. You got to get rid of
- 12:20Speaker 2: them and keep your curve so that it makes sense.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Make it pretty, we have to say in magic, make
- 12:29Speaker 1: it pretty.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Hydras. Hydras are especially a really hard one. I absolutely
- 12:35Speaker 3: hate when I have two in my opening hand. And
- 12:39Speaker 3: the game that I played right before cast, while I
- 12:42Speaker 3: was putting together my notes, that's exactly what happened. So
- 12:46Speaker 3: I kept one in my hand. But then I have
- 12:50Speaker 3: a unique that the requirement is to put a card
- 12:55Speaker 3: from hand into reserve, So the second one went into reserve.
- 12:59Speaker 3: And I'm basically saying at that point, because I was
- 13:02Speaker 3: against Waru, it's gonna get sabotaged. But it's still too
- 13:06Speaker 3: far away. I'm not getting things to help support it. Surprisingly,
- 13:14Speaker 3: I do not know what that Warrio player was doing
- 13:16Speaker 3: in that game, because I absolutely smoked them kept sabotaging
- 13:21Speaker 3: my uniques instead, which is instead of the Hydra, which
- 13:26Speaker 3: I think when I finally played the hydrates, because they
- 13:29Speaker 3: knew it was expensive and they had sticky notes. But
- 13:32Speaker 3: they they did. They did exactly what you're saying not
- 13:35Speaker 3: to do. They held onto the sticky notes until I
- 13:39Speaker 3: played the Hydra, and by that point I was one
- 13:42Speaker 3: move away, so I'm like, okay, cool, I'll just move
- 13:45Speaker 3: next turn and win. Yeah.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I mean it's good to think ahead like one turn
- 13:50Speaker 2: or two, and you always need to keep some removal
- 13:52Speaker 2: in hand in case your opponent plays problem cards. But
- 13:55Speaker 2: thinking ahead like four turns and you're gonna be like, oh,
- 13:59Speaker 2: if they play hydro, now I have to have the
- 14:01Speaker 2: sticky notes. Like sticky notes on turn one. That's pretty
- 14:05Speaker 2: much always a discard, just because it takes too many
- 14:07Speaker 2: turns to get up to five manu which is or
- 14:11Speaker 2: seven man or whatever your opponent's playing that would be
- 14:13Speaker 2: big enough to get hit by the sticky.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's about I guess, changing your strategy on
- 14:24Speaker 3: the fly. Yeah, if anyone out there is playing the Bizarre.
- 14:30Speaker 3: It's like a perfect example of not sticking to one
- 14:34Speaker 3: thing or too long, because there's a type of game
- 14:38Speaker 3: where you get random items and you have to put
- 14:41Speaker 3: a build together. So if you decide early on, like oh,
- 14:44Speaker 3: I want to do a crit build, but then the
- 14:46Speaker 3: whole time you're not getting anything to support it, you're
- 14:49Speaker 3: just going to fall apart. So same same situation here.
- 14:58Speaker 1: This whole thing reminds me of golf, right. It reminds
- 15:04Speaker 1: me of a lot of.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Us, like things the sports game golf.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Like like golf like I don't know what you sports, Yes,
- 15:12Speaker 1: the sports game.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Where the golf balls with the clubs. There's other board
- 15:16Speaker 2: games and card games that are called golf.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Never heard of her anyway. Sometimes you just have to
- 15:24Speaker 1: keep it simple, stupid, don't don't, don't mindy the water,
- 15:30Speaker 1: and as much as it hurts, you can't all drive
- 15:32Speaker 1: three hundred yards. I feel like that was all lost
- 15:36Speaker 1: in translation. But let's move on to the marketplace.
- 15:40Speaker 3: I I got it is definitely trying.
- 15:46Speaker 1: To that's that's the three hundred yard drive, right, But
- 15:50Speaker 1: sometimes you just you can't pull that off, right, Like
- 15:52Speaker 1: you just gotta you gotta lay up.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Sometimes you gotta just make sure you hit it on
- 15:58Speaker 3: the green and have a better.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And having a better chance at the end game than
- 16:03Speaker 1: them slamming it down. There so many things I want
- 16:09Speaker 1: to say. I'm gonna keep a PG today. Okay. Anyways,
- 16:13Speaker 1: let's move into the marketplace. Last week we had found okay,
- 16:23Speaker 1: so we had found pre orders.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I gave you some extra information for the marketplace
- 16:31Speaker 3: this week.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Is that pre orders for Trial by Frost enter in here?
- 16:35Speaker 3: Oh?
- 16:35Speaker 1: No, here it is? Yes, Okay, So last last week
- 16:38Speaker 1: we had found one Kickstarter version for one forty and
- 16:43Speaker 1: retail for one sorry, ninety one to twelve. That seems high, Yeah, huh,
- 16:53Speaker 1: because here I found I found one for eighty this
- 16:55Speaker 1: week for the for the oj for the just the
- 17:00Speaker 1: normal beyond the Gates version. I am traving trouble finding
- 17:06Speaker 1: the Kickstarter version, but I did find one here for one,
- 17:12Speaker 1: so I guess I'll put that in the in the
- 17:14Speaker 1: boxes here. Huh. Yeah.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Kickstarter about the same as lest.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, and then a little bit a little bit cheaper,
- 17:23Speaker 1: a little bit cheaper for retail. So they're they're they're
- 17:27Speaker 1: staying the same.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Yep.
- 17:30Speaker 1: But uh, okay, you got you're giving us the goodie
- 17:33Speaker 1: goodie gum drops on Trial by Frost. What you got
- 17:36Speaker 1: call give us, give us, give us the tea sir. Yeah.
- 17:40Speaker 3: So we know that the retail cost of a booster
- 17:43Speaker 3: box is going to be around one hundred and forty
- 17:46Speaker 3: three dollars. I would say, don't pay that much because
- 17:51Speaker 3: just about every store is going to give you some
- 17:54Speaker 3: sort of deal, whether it's a pre order or if
- 17:58Speaker 3: you you know, buy it booster. Yeah, that's that's like
- 18:04Speaker 3: the retail price.
- 18:05Speaker 2: So I think what the MSRP is right now?
- 18:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right, yeah, MSRP.
- 18:12Speaker 2: No, it's not that high. MSRP for this set is
- 18:16Speaker 2: a lot more than ninety Yeah.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Pre orders. Game Nerds, I think is the most well
- 18:24Speaker 3: known that has their page up already and it'll be
- 18:27Speaker 3: ninety five dollars through them, So you're probably looking about
- 18:32Speaker 3: ninety five ish area or pre orders, and as more
- 18:38Speaker 3: stores put up information, will kind of keep a look
- 18:41Speaker 3: lookout for it, and when they start putting actual events
- 18:46Speaker 3: for pre release, which should be around the twenty fourth,
- 18:50Speaker 3: I will have that on the Altered Corner website. If
- 18:54Speaker 3: you're in Austin, Texas. I believe Wonko's is working on
- 18:59Speaker 3: putting something together. They're just finding out more information from
- 19:05Speaker 3: Asthma Day on what is actually included. And I think
- 19:09Speaker 3: they said they said it in the discord. I just
- 19:14Speaker 3: want to make sure what date they said that. They
- 19:18Speaker 3: are planning to have their pre release on Monday, January
- 19:22Speaker 3: twenty seventh, So if you're in Austin, lookout for that
- 19:25Speaker 3: at wang Ko's all right.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Also, right now you can head over to our Patreon.
- 19:33Speaker 1: We got a little box special for you over there.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I'm not going to give it away, but if you
- 19:38Speaker 1: are a Patreon member, we do have boxes at a
- 19:42Speaker 1: cheaper rate. As far as events go, Ace is still
- 19:48Speaker 1: going on, A Wall is still going on, and Kellen
- 19:51Speaker 1: Guy our boy killing guy over there running events. So
- 19:56Speaker 1: that'll take up your Tuesday, your Thursday, and more your Tuesday.
- 20:00Speaker 1: So just you know, clear out Tuesday and just play
- 20:04Speaker 1: Alter all day.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Yeah, basically your set for just about every day of
- 20:10Speaker 3: the week if you really look around.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I have not. I have been a bad Altered
- 20:17Speaker 1: player recently with my with the holidays here in me
- 20:20Speaker 1: working retail, I'm not playing much of anything besides catching
- 20:25Speaker 1: up on sleep. But what you're all here for all
- 20:31Speaker 1: that was just kind of like a tasty morsel in
- 20:33Speaker 1: the beginning. We all want to know what happened at
- 20:35Speaker 1: Packs Unplugged. We just so happened to have a member
- 20:40Speaker 1: that went to Pack unplugged, and that's col Coal. What
- 20:44Speaker 1: happened I Packs unplugged. Give us the juice, give us
- 20:47Speaker 1: the tea.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Drink. I drank a lot of juice. Yeah yeah, non
- 20:54Speaker 3: alcoholic juice for me. But everyone else drink a good
- 20:58Speaker 3: amount of alcohol.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Day this weekend, so I am getting whitecro wasted tomorrow.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Very nice.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Say what you want about the French, but from from
- 21:11Speaker 3: the outside looking in, it seems like they can drink
- 21:13Speaker 3: a lot and do it very well.
- 21:15Speaker 1: So you know, in my experience, it's a toss up.
- 21:20Speaker 1: We just had. We just played around with some French
- 21:22Speaker 1: people during Key Forde celebration. All right, you guys are
- 21:30Speaker 1: from Texas, Like I don't think you guys drink? Yeah, yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 1: from Wisconsin, where that's like what we do. Like if
- 21:37Speaker 1: there was a competition for drinking, every member would probably
- 21:41Speaker 1: be from Wisconsin. Wisconsin has twenty of the twenty five
- 21:45Speaker 1: drunkest counties in the world.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Very nice, so it's a great accomplishment, right, there, the
- 21:51Speaker 2: more you know.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Yeah, so like if you want to know who can drink,
- 21:56Speaker 1: it's your boys from Wisconsin. But anyways, back to PAXL.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Yeah, so I went to packs. I was judging some
- 22:07Speaker 3: of the Hero's Journey events for Altered, which is what
- 22:11Speaker 3: they called their constructed events. So me and Simon from
- 22:18Speaker 3: the A Wall tournaments, we were over the one v
- 22:24Speaker 3: ones constructed so based your standard, all the different words
- 22:28Speaker 3: you want to use to say the same thing. And
- 22:30Speaker 3: then the two v two tournament, which was the first
- 22:34Speaker 3: twov two tournament I think anywhere ever. So that was
- 22:39Speaker 3: really cool and it was very popular. But since I
- 22:43Speaker 3: was working, I got in a little early and we
- 22:48Speaker 3: had well, we had a whole bunch of moving around
- 22:54Speaker 3: to make sure everybody had rooms and make sure no
- 22:57Speaker 3: one was sleeping on the floor or in a bed
- 23:00Speaker 3: with a stranger. But other than that, the first day
- 23:03Speaker 3: was just kind of your training, getting to know everybody,
- 23:07Speaker 3: getting your shirts. The real fun started on Friday, So
- 23:13Speaker 3: the official event was Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And what
- 23:20Speaker 3: I will tell you first is a quick breakdown of
- 23:24Speaker 3: the tournaments that I and Simon were over. The other
- 23:31Speaker 3: events there were the learn to play, and the learn
- 23:34Speaker 3: to play was busy the whole time, So hopefully we
- 23:38Speaker 3: have some new people coming in, some more people showing
- 23:41Speaker 3: up to locals, and just continue to grow the scene.
- 23:45Speaker 3: And then there was a eight person kind of tournament
- 23:51Speaker 3: that just kicked off whenever they had eight people stop
- 23:54Speaker 3: by and ready for a little tournament. And then there
- 23:58Speaker 3: were draft. Katie and Lex were in the draft and
- 24:05Speaker 3: eight person area. So what I will be telling you
- 24:09Speaker 3: about is, I mean kind of the main event. It's
- 24:13Speaker 3: your you know, standard tournament and your TV two tournament.
- 24:19Speaker 3: So each day had basically one or the other, and
- 24:23Speaker 3: some days had two in one day, which turned out
- 24:28Speaker 3: to be a pretty big time crunch. I feel that
- 24:34Speaker 3: I've never been to a tournament that started and ended
- 24:40Speaker 3: exactly when it was supposed to, So I feel like
- 24:43Speaker 3: that's just that's just just commonplace for tournaments now, especially
- 24:50Speaker 3: with new software. Very luckily we were using Tournament and
- 24:55Speaker 3: not Melee. A lot of people have opinions on Melee,
- 25:00Speaker 3: the new software that Larkana is using, and Star.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Wars Unlimited, a lot of people are using that software.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Yes, I've heard not I don't think I've ever heard
- 25:12Speaker 3: anything positive about it. That's what I'm saying.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I think, fine, I don't really think. I mean, so
- 25:18Speaker 1: when lar Kana came out, we were I did do
- 25:21Speaker 1: some more kind of stuff. It was I did want
- 25:23Speaker 1: to get into Larkana. Just the speed at which Larkana
- 25:26Speaker 1: wants to release sets is a little fast for my taste.
- 25:32Speaker 1: But I never had like a bad experience with the software.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I don't think.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Yeah, and then that's mainly just me saying what other
- 25:42Speaker 3: people say. There was one thing though, I did also
- 25:46Speaker 3: judge the Dallas PQ for Star Wars Unlimited, and it
- 25:50Speaker 3: did erase an entire round of the tournament, so about
- 25:55Speaker 3: one hundred one hundred players, so what ifty match up
- 26:00Speaker 3: whatever erased. Very luckily, the head judge insisted on paper slips,
- 26:07Speaker 3: and I could I could not agree more.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I could see how that would be a problem.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Yep. So, but so the first day we did have
- 26:18Speaker 3: a little bit of a delay because tournament software. It
- 26:22Speaker 3: was ironed out the first day. But what everyone really
- 26:26Speaker 3: wants to know is kind of what heroes were there
- 26:31Speaker 3: and what was represented. I'll give you a quick rough
- 26:37Speaker 3: breakdown of the heroes, but if you want a more
- 26:41Speaker 3: specific breakdown of each tournament decklists that I've collected things
- 26:47Speaker 3: like that. Just make sure you join the Altered Corner discord.
- 26:53Speaker 3: I have it all on a Google doc. I'm gonna
- 26:57Speaker 3: try to make it pretty somehow. We'll see still collecting
- 27:02Speaker 3: deck lists, but this is what we saw so basically
- 27:07Speaker 3: over the weekend, as far as I know, in the
- 27:12Speaker 3: hour tournaments, there was one subash about six traced. And
- 27:20Speaker 3: the reason I have to say about and that these
- 27:22Speaker 3: numbers are rough numbers is because of some of the
- 27:26Speaker 3: people were the same people. A good chunk of the
- 27:31Speaker 3: people that competed in these events competed in every single
- 27:35Speaker 3: one the entire weekend, So they were here for Altered,
- 27:40Speaker 3: they were here for the prizes, and that's how they
- 27:43Speaker 3: spent ninety percent of next time at pack.
- 27:47Speaker 1: So there't nothing wrong with that.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, very very dedicated players. It was great
- 27:54Speaker 3: to see some of them switched up decks, some of
- 27:57Speaker 3: them didn't. Moving on to your Bravos representation, we saw
- 28:04Speaker 3: one bassira and two kojo for Lyra. There were three
- 28:11Speaker 3: different novenkas and one f Seems like Fenn has not
- 28:17Speaker 3: caught on in the paper realm that or with the
- 28:22Speaker 3: Waru changes or Robin Hood changes really Traced just beat out. Yeah, Fenn.
- 28:31Speaker 3: So if you're going to go to an in person tournament,
- 28:33Speaker 3: you pick Trace over Fenn. Did you say that's not true.
- 28:39Speaker 1: That's not true.
- 28:41Speaker 2: I mean I I don't play Traced. I would rather
- 28:44Speaker 2: play I think both are very strong. I have no preference.
- 28:48Speaker 2: I play both. I love Traced, I love Fenn. Yeah,
- 28:51Speaker 2: I think I can be great.
- 28:53Speaker 3: A lot of the ways that I decide what to
- 28:55Speaker 3: play is based on who else in the cast is
- 28:57Speaker 3: already playing it. So we we have Girl, we have Yeah.
- 29:03Speaker 3: So I'm I'm picking up Sebash. I just need two
- 29:07Speaker 3: more uniques to kind of flesh it out, and then
- 29:10Speaker 3: I'm Maine Tasia. Of course I am the Tasia player
- 29:14Speaker 3: of the cast. But I do love Novenka too. I
- 29:18Speaker 3: actually do really like playing Novenka.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I like playing I've never actually built a deck for it,
- 29:25Speaker 2: so I have no idea, no experience on that front.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I feel like, if you yeah, you got the Martin
- 29:31Speaker 3: Gills yet, Wookie.
- 29:33Speaker 1: The common ones are the rare ones.
- 29:35Speaker 2: The rare ones.
- 29:38Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie to you. I have not gone
- 29:40Speaker 1: and honestly looked. This is the holiday season, Like I
- 29:44Speaker 1: said for me, my my days are booked. I am
- 29:49Speaker 1: literally working nine am to eight pm, five days a week.
- 29:56Speaker 1: It's rock, it's it's not a fun time to be
- 30:01Speaker 1: in retail. So once once I get through my you know,
- 30:09Speaker 1: once I get through my U my busy time, I'll
- 30:15Speaker 1: start poking around. I don't even know if I own them.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I still haven't scanned some cards. I'm not gonna lie
- 30:23Speaker 1: to anybody. I still have piles of cars that are
- 30:27Speaker 1: sitting here scanned. I still haven't scanned my ortists stuff from.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Okay, are you telling me that I gave you all
- 30:34Speaker 2: that stuff in Minnesota and you still haven't scanned it.
- 30:37Speaker 1: It is sitting on a pile on my desk. I
- 30:38Speaker 1: am lying to no one. Okay, if I had I
- 30:43Speaker 1: don't even have my webcam backup from KFC. That's how
- 30:46Speaker 1: crazy this says. Right now, Like I've just got nothing done.
- 30:51Speaker 1: So when you get back, So for those of you
- 30:54Speaker 1: who never worked in retail before, most of you have,
- 30:58Speaker 1: like so was the first weekend of November. Literally I
- 31:04Speaker 1: got back, and like that's I mean, November is when
- 31:09Speaker 1: you are getting ready. You're you're literally getting ready to
- 31:14Speaker 1: go and start doing stuff, right, so my November is
- 31:19Speaker 1: filled and then you just you're in it right now.
- 31:21Speaker 1: You're now you're in the ship show, you know. So
- 31:24Speaker 1: it's it's time. It's time to go now, so you
- 31:27Speaker 1: just you just got to go. And that's that's kind
- 31:30Speaker 1: of where I'm at right now. Just it's it's time
- 31:32Speaker 1: to go, and uh, you know, let's let's get through
- 31:38Speaker 1: this horrible season known as uh known as Christmas. And
- 31:45Speaker 1: once I get through that, I'll be able to go
- 31:47Speaker 1: start doing some stuff and I will be able to
- 31:49Speaker 1: have a life again.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Uh huh. That's that's what we like to hear. And
- 31:55Speaker 3: we should note that I'm pretty sure Wookie just came
- 32:00Speaker 3: straight from said retail and jumped straight on the cast.
- 32:03Speaker 1: You are one thousand percent correct. I literally got home.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I took my pants off, as one does when they
- 32:10Speaker 1: get home, right. I put some PJ pants on, the
- 32:15Speaker 1: kicked off the shoes, kicked off the socks, put on
- 32:19Speaker 1: my fuzzy Wookie slippers, and I'm sat down ready to go.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Ye, and you're here, and three other people somehow.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Couldn't make it listen, and we don't know how.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Any life is a weird journey, right, Sometimes you got
- 32:37Speaker 1: to make choices. They made their choice. I'll make zero
- 32:42Speaker 1: regret it again, don't you worry?
- 32:44Speaker 3: Sounds good. Speaking of journeys, back to the Heroes journeys
- 32:49Speaker 3: at packs, we were at Mona. There were two Tasias
- 32:56Speaker 3: and two Rims. I believe, okay, let me, I believe
- 33:03Speaker 3: Rin was the same person. But I did put two
- 33:07Speaker 3: because one was for TWOV two and one was for
- 33:11Speaker 3: a normal constructive Both of them were a guy trying
- 33:17Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure who won Sunday's hero Hero's Journey with
- 33:24Speaker 3: that run now all yeah, yep, and this is his words.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Seeing as the tournaments kept going really long and top
- 33:41Speaker 3: cut was getting later, everyone on the last day agreed
- 33:48Speaker 3: to do best of one for top eight and top four,
- 33:53Speaker 3: So a guy trying to say he thinks that benefits
- 33:57Speaker 3: the index specifically a little better, but it was, it was.
- 34:03Speaker 3: It was a very well put together deck. Either way.
- 34:07Speaker 3: When when we kind of get to it, you'll you'll
- 34:10Speaker 3: see that TWOV two festival was and it was an
- 34:17Speaker 3: okay chunk. I would say it wasn't, you know, fifty
- 34:21Speaker 3: percent or more of the TV two, but people, uh
- 34:26Speaker 3: definitely tried to bring it out for TV two. So
- 34:31Speaker 3: for artists. There were only two different Warrio players, and
- 34:36Speaker 3: I know that one is correct because one of them
- 34:41Speaker 3: was matt Uh, which is Mundungu, and one of them
- 34:48Speaker 3: was a good old Maddox Maddicks faction who's been sticking
- 34:53Speaker 3: with the Warrio through ace and a Wall and brought
- 34:58Speaker 3: it to packs as well well, and then rounding it
- 35:03Speaker 3: out with Yazmir. There was one Akesha about six or
- 35:09Speaker 3: so Ofphonics, and one lind Away. The lind Away was
- 35:14Speaker 3: for the two v two and I do have a
- 35:18Speaker 3: breakdown of each tournament, top eight, top four, et cetera,
- 35:22Speaker 3: et cetera, what the TWOV two matchups were, and all
- 35:26Speaker 3: of the decks that I've been able to collect. It's
- 35:29Speaker 3: in the main discord. I've also posted it on Reddit,
- 35:32Speaker 3: but if you join Altered Corner Discord, I can reshare
- 35:37Speaker 3: it to you whenever needed. There was a Lindaway ten
- 35:41Speaker 3: am Friday and Solos I sat next to them, Hello
- 35:44Speaker 3: Zared in the chat. Let me read this here. I
- 35:51Speaker 3: do not have a lind Away for ten am on Sunday.
- 35:58Speaker 3: Are you sure you didn't look at a Kesha didn't
- 36:01Speaker 3: think it was Lindaway. I will reconsult my notes and
- 36:06Speaker 3: that Simon and I are kind of cross referencing, so yeah,
- 36:13Speaker 3: they did not make top eight.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I have the hero.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Breakdown for each tournament entirely, but I will double check.
- 36:22Speaker 3: So the the downside here is the turnout wasn't as
- 36:30Speaker 3: great as we would have hoped in total amount of players.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Friday started out really strong. It was about twenty players,
- 36:40Speaker 3: and then from there it kind of bounced between fourteen
- 36:46Speaker 3: to twenty. There was one day where we had seventeen
- 36:49Speaker 3: signed up, but three people dropped because they wanted to
- 36:52Speaker 3: go check out the rest of the convention. They'd already spent,
- 36:56Speaker 3: you know, two days playing altered. The two v two though,
- 37:01Speaker 3: was very popular, and I believe we had thirteen total
- 37:05Speaker 3: teams let me count here, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
- 37:11Speaker 3: eight and eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, Yeah, fourteen teams, so
- 37:18Speaker 3: that the twov two was the hit of the weekend
- 37:21Speaker 3: and it was really cool to see. There was I
- 37:26Speaker 3: believe it was a Finn and Tasia festival. There was
- 37:31Speaker 3: a Rin and Finn festival, and then maybe one more
- 37:38Speaker 3: festival that I don't have the deck lists for yet.
- 37:43Speaker 3: So that is the as quick as I can make
- 37:47Speaker 3: it breakdown of the hero showings, and that was that
- 37:53Speaker 3: was the main bulk of my time was those tournaments.
- 37:58Speaker 3: What what do you guys thinking looking looking at that breakdown,
- 38:01Speaker 3: hearing that breakdown?
- 38:04Speaker 2: I honestly, the thing that surprised me most is there's
- 38:07Speaker 2: not as many fins or Kojo's as I would have thought,
- 38:12Speaker 2: and a lot more traced. I mean, I love traced,
- 38:15Speaker 2: but six like that seems like a very large portion.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Well, you know, she's finally able to come out, you know,
- 38:23Speaker 1: you know, because.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Like, were there any wars cool.
- 38:29Speaker 3: And mundung?
- 38:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so a lot of people like abandoned, you know,
- 38:34Speaker 1: the their beloved Robin is dead and so they abandoned
- 38:39Speaker 1: ship and went and went and tried something else, which
- 38:42Speaker 1: is well, it's just crazy, right because war is still good,
- 38:48Speaker 1: Like that's insanity, but whatever.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Yeah, six traced is kind of a guesstimate because it
- 38:59Speaker 3: could have been more. But I know a big chunk
- 39:01Speaker 3: of them were the same people. So for winners the
- 39:08Speaker 3: morning tournament on Friday, the winner was a traced and
- 39:13Speaker 3: that was William A K A p KP Psycho z H.
- 39:20Speaker 3: The afternoon on Friday, the winner was a traced, which
- 39:26Speaker 3: I believe his name is Antoine or Stempy op Dash Quebec.
- 39:34Speaker 3: On Discord Saturday, the winner was Waru and it was
- 39:42Speaker 3: Mundungu's Warriu. Second place was Warriu and it was Maddox's Warrior.
- 39:49Speaker 3: So they had a show down there Saturday. The team
- 39:54Speaker 3: that won was a Kojo and a Kesha deck. I
- 40:01Speaker 3: do not remember the specific Discord names of that team
- 40:07Speaker 3: that won because Saturday ended up going so long that
- 40:13Speaker 3: I had dinner reservations at nine and I didn't get
- 40:18Speaker 3: out of there until nine thirty. And Simon watched over
- 40:23Speaker 3: the very final TV two match, and I guess it
- 40:27Speaker 3: was really uneventful because it was just a really quick
- 40:32Speaker 3: progression and then like a small step to win it. So,
- 40:37Speaker 3: as Sarah says, it was very uneventful Sunday, So what
- 40:44Speaker 3: did I told you? Yes, Sunday was just one tournament
- 40:50Speaker 3: and the winner was Rin, a guy trying. Yeah. Top
- 40:55Speaker 3: four was one one Rin, two, Sigi one Fenn. But
- 40:59Speaker 3: like I said, but if you want the full breakdown,
- 41:01Speaker 3: I have it. It's on Discords. I'm going to try
- 41:05Speaker 3: to make like something a little pretty or just hand
- 41:08Speaker 3: it over to Justin or someone I altered and see
- 41:12Speaker 3: if they just want to take it and make a
- 41:15Speaker 3: little fancy news report.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Was there any decklists involved?
- 41:21Speaker 3: Yes, my document. My document also has the deck list.
- 41:25Speaker 1: So if I have your document, do I have your document?
- 41:29Speaker 3: I can share it for you because we know that
- 41:35Speaker 3: you are.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Busy and I love this whole building by yourself. Roast
- 41:48Speaker 1: who does that?
- 41:50Speaker 3: Look?
- 41:50Speaker 1: Yep?
- 41:51Speaker 3: Those are those are my rough notes. I'm still kind
- 41:54Speaker 3: of working on it, piecing it together. The tournament was great.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Everyone was was really nice. There were very few hard questions.
- 42:07Speaker 3: I would say most of it was pretty straightforward. Uniques
- 42:12Speaker 3: always kind of make you double check certain things. I
- 42:17Speaker 3: don't remember any like exact specifics off the top of
- 42:21Speaker 3: my head, but there there was a capellia that we
- 42:25Speaker 3: had to double check, and then it's it's not too hard.
- 42:31Speaker 3: I'm the kind of person that likes to be one hundred,
- 42:34Speaker 3: so I'm I'm less likely to just throw an answer
- 42:38Speaker 3: off the cuff. For something a little more complicated, I
- 42:42Speaker 3: like to see it and read it and explain to
- 42:45Speaker 3: the player why it's such a thing. But most of
- 42:49Speaker 3: the time it was really easy questions and every everyone
- 42:53Speaker 3: was was really great. So shout out to everyone that
- 42:56Speaker 3: I met at Pax. You are all great. We've mentioned
- 43:01Speaker 3: some of the names, but there were a lot of
- 43:04Speaker 3: people from the community and even people from the Altered
- 43:08Speaker 3: Corner discord that I had a chance to meet, So.
- 43:14Speaker 2: That was great. How did the Boss battling go?
- 43:20Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 43:21Speaker 3: Thing, Yeah, the so the boss battles people have. People
- 43:26Speaker 3: had a lot of fun from what I saw, and
- 43:28Speaker 3: the Boss kind of sort of rotated a little bit.
- 43:33Speaker 3: And here on my notes there's a section about guests,
- 43:37Speaker 3: so I'll talk about their boss battles when we get there.
- 43:41Speaker 3: But it was it was mostly Loki and at gen
- 43:46Speaker 3: Con he did more of a scavenger hunt thing and
- 43:49Speaker 3: ran around a lot. But the Boss battles is I
- 43:53Speaker 3: would say it's probably a better system. I thought the
- 43:57Speaker 3: scavenger hunt was a lot of fun, but the boss
- 44:00Speaker 3: battle is just you know, you know where he's going
- 44:03Speaker 3: to be. There was a line almost the entire time
- 44:06Speaker 3: they were there. It's basically a very strong hero card
- 44:12Speaker 3: that has like huge reserve, huge landmarks, and it just
- 44:16Speaker 3: has busted Navenka style abilities. On rolling dice, the really
- 44:23Speaker 3: great thing is is it doesn't matter if you won
- 44:26Speaker 3: or lost. You roll the die and you still got
- 44:28Speaker 3: a prize. The best prize was the Loki Matt, which
- 44:36Speaker 3: is really cool like graffiti on Style Matt. You did
- 44:40Speaker 3: have to win for that one and roll a six,
- 44:43Speaker 3: but some people did it. Moon, the new community manager,
- 44:50Speaker 3: was also hopping into the boss a lot, so that
- 44:53Speaker 3: there were two different bosses. I will not elaborate too
- 45:00Speaker 3: much but say that she made some fans. Uh maybe
- 45:05Speaker 3: a super fan.
- 45:08Speaker 1: But yeah the lost Are you a super fan?
- 45:11Speaker 3: No, it's not me, but yeah, everyone did a great job,
- 45:20Speaker 3: so we can we can kind of skip here to
- 45:24Speaker 3: the guests. So there there were two guests, and uh,
- 45:29Speaker 3: when I talk about this next part, I will just
- 45:32Speaker 3: give the disclaimer that anything said by Wookie or anyone
- 45:36Speaker 3: else from here on out does not necessarily uh relate
- 45:44Speaker 3: to my thoughts and opinions.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Are is this whatever Wookie said is the official altered
- 45:51Speaker 1: Corner position, and that's what we're sticking to.
- 45:54Speaker 3: That that can be true, but your your thoughts are
- 45:57Speaker 3: your own and not mine my thoughts. On So we
- 46:02Speaker 3: we had uh two cause players that were there I
- 46:07Speaker 3: think only Saturday and Sunday but for a good amount
- 46:12Speaker 3: of time, and they were in the boss seats. So
- 46:17Speaker 3: there was Lua Dot Star Dust on Instagram as Kojo,
- 46:23Speaker 3: and she actually got to reveal the new fire Dog token.
- 46:30Speaker 3: Fire Dog has gotten kind of an upgrade and is
- 46:34Speaker 3: a lot more fiery and fleshed out, grown up a
- 46:37Speaker 3: little so that was pretty awesome.
- 46:40Speaker 2: She was, was that token just common all Trial by Frost?
- 46:44Speaker 2: That's just the token for fire Dog? Now, I think
- 46:49Speaker 2: that token, I.
- 46:51Speaker 3: Think it is the token that will be in Trial
- 46:53Speaker 3: by the Frost. Yeah. Oh well, yes, technic is.
- 46:59Speaker 2: An alternate R, but it's widely available in the next set.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. Doom Bringer in the chat says
- 47:07Speaker 3: Buddha is a cat.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I know it's a if you know, you know thing.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Z does not know the difference between cats and dogs.
- 47:17Speaker 1: We are still trying to teach him. It will take
- 47:19Speaker 1: some time.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Yeah. Uh. Just going back to a previous question about
- 47:25Speaker 3: turnout as well from Sayonara, the low turnout, will it
- 47:33Speaker 3: help them see that the US needs more support. It's
- 47:36Speaker 3: actually something we talked about, not the cast before, but
- 47:39Speaker 3: the one before. There actually is a ton of support
- 47:43Speaker 3: put into the US, and I mean PAS is a
- 47:46Speaker 3: good example of that.
- 47:48Speaker 1: It is it is not.
- 47:49Speaker 3: Cheap to get a booth space to hold that many people.
- 47:53Speaker 3: And then you have to hire staff, so it's a
- 47:57Speaker 3: it's a lot of money. I think just the unforced
- 48:00Speaker 3: thing is just how spread out the US is. It's
- 48:04Speaker 3: something that everyone on the team is aware of and
- 48:07Speaker 3: trying really hard. Justin the organized play. Manager was you know,
- 48:12Speaker 3: a little disappointed that it wasn't a bigger turnout, But
- 48:16Speaker 3: the answer is to just you know, keep trying, try
- 48:19Speaker 3: new things, keep going. They you know, moon is a
- 48:25Speaker 3: is a new community manager for a reason, so that
- 48:30Speaker 3: all of that discord, social media, et cetera as not
- 48:33Speaker 3: just one person, and they can start working on expanding
- 48:40Speaker 3: every everywhere a little more. One of the other guests
- 48:45Speaker 3: was it's Anna Margaret on Instagram and she was Novenka,
- 48:52Speaker 3: so they they both were the boss for a little bit,
- 48:56Speaker 3: which lost battle no matter what, had a line all
- 49:01Speaker 3: day long. Loki was actually late getting back and so
- 49:06Speaker 3: I had to lend Anna my Tasia deck And at
- 49:14Speaker 3: first it seemed rocky because lost the first game, but
- 49:17Speaker 3: then I guess from there on out it just started
- 49:20Speaker 3: beating everybody. So that's a if you got beat by
- 49:26Speaker 3: that Tasia deck in the boss battle, that was my deck,
- 49:28Speaker 3: so you're welcome.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Did it have the same Hero or did it just
- 49:34Speaker 2: have Asia.
- 49:37Speaker 3: I think what I said to do was just not
- 49:40Speaker 3: have a limit on your reserve and landmarks, which the
- 49:45Speaker 3: landmark part. The landmark part doesn't make a huge difference
- 49:49Speaker 3: in that deck, but it did not have the hero
- 49:53Speaker 3: rolling abilities. No, it was just basic Tasia.
- 49:57Speaker 2: Just make it so every card gets a boosts instead
- 49:59Speaker 2: of just the first one. That seems fair for Boss battle.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Yeah, and the boss battles do have one less tumolt cards,
- 50:07Speaker 3: so it's a little quicker, okay, and boosts being fast,
- 50:13Speaker 3: et cetera. So you can find both of them on Instagram.
- 50:18Speaker 3: I believe Lua was supposed to be a Kesha but
- 50:22Speaker 3: got sick right before, so it ended up being Kojo.
- 50:27Speaker 3: What we did see the new fire Dog token, which
- 50:30Speaker 3: is really great. You can see it on social media
- 50:33Speaker 3: all over. I'll post it in our discord the next
- 50:37Speaker 3: time I see it.
- 50:40Speaker 1: I'll see it. I saw new spoiler cards, which I
- 50:46Speaker 1: think we're going into in a different episode.
- 50:49Speaker 3: Yeah, so I know verments. Yeah. I put very basic
- 50:53Speaker 3: notes on the spoilers we saw because we are going
- 50:57Speaker 3: to do a spoiler heavy episode. So one of the
- 51:02Speaker 3: prizes for first place in each tournament, including the TWV
- 51:07Speaker 3: two was the winner got to reveal one of the
- 51:12Speaker 3: new cards from Trial by Frost. It was actually a
- 51:16Speaker 3: ton of fun because we all got in on trolling
- 51:20Speaker 3: the main discord, posting the cards like Fuzzy too far away,
- 51:27Speaker 3: half of it blurred out someone's head.
- 51:29Speaker 1: In the way. Somebody's head was in the.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Way, yeah, but then eventually giving the full card. So
- 51:38Speaker 3: each of the first six were what I wrote down
- 51:41Speaker 3: as ice bound sites. So you do a thing, you
- 51:45Speaker 3: get a counter, and when you get enough counters, you
- 51:48Speaker 3: create a dragon token. There was a lot of speculation
- 51:54Speaker 3: about what the seventh card would be, because there's only
- 51:58Speaker 3: six factions in altered a lot of I think almost
- 52:04Speaker 3: every single speculation was wrong. It was the token itself,
- 52:09Speaker 3: which is a new token. It is a dragon, and
- 52:13Speaker 3: it is the dragon that those ice bound sites create.
- 52:18Speaker 3: So it's very cool. We will go more into that
- 52:22Speaker 3: kind of stuff in a spoiler episode. There was some
- 52:27Speaker 3: new names that came out hidden in deck boxes, hidden
- 52:31Speaker 3: around in the boss deck, things like that. We did
- 52:35Speaker 3: get a better look at the winter clothing, which was
- 52:39Speaker 3: kind of teased before, and there is a whole overarching
- 52:46Speaker 3: lore bit to something like winter clothing that we'll see
- 52:52Speaker 3: more of in the expansion. So if you think it
- 52:55Speaker 3: looks different, it's different for a reason. And one of
- 53:02Speaker 3: the things I did learn a lot about over the
- 53:06Speaker 3: weekend was different tidbits of the lore, different you know,
- 53:12Speaker 3: ideas the team has had. And I will say, obviously
- 53:19Speaker 3: I can't give away everything. I can't say a lot
- 53:22Speaker 3: because I will get taken out back by Asthma day.
- 53:30Speaker 3: There there are things in the current set that people
- 53:33Speaker 3: haven't noticed. And I know last time I said something
- 53:38Speaker 3: like that, half the cast got kind of upset. But
- 53:42Speaker 3: it is true. It is true, and when you realize them,
- 53:47Speaker 3: it's kind of like an aha moment.
- 53:50Speaker 2: So are we talking low wise or like interaction wise.
- 53:53Speaker 3: Low wise lore or low wise related to the art,
- 53:58Speaker 3: related to the story. And I will just say, if
- 54:01Speaker 3: you know the basic lore of Altered, and you know
- 54:06Speaker 3: some of the things that are coming up for Trial
- 54:09Speaker 3: by Frost, I would say it's pretty safe to say
- 54:12Speaker 3: that nothing is out of reach for Altered outside of
- 54:18Speaker 3: you know, very obvious copyright things. There is a snow
- 54:24Speaker 3: queen in Trial by Frost, and that name was revealed.
- 54:30Speaker 3: Think of your favorite you know, mythological hero character, you know,
- 54:37Speaker 3: novel character, whatever. Maybe one day it will be a possibility.
- 54:45Speaker 3: People did notice that four already exists in the art,
- 54:49Speaker 3: and his foot adults can be seen in that card
- 54:54Speaker 3: that has been out and in play for a long time.
- 54:58Speaker 3: So they are a very.
- 55:00Speaker 2: Very closely Yep, they they are very.
- 55:03Speaker 1: Good at.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:07Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that the classic key Forde meme.
- 55:12Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't. I Don'm not gonna lie. I don't.
- 55:14Speaker 1: I don't look at art. The only time I'm looking
- 55:18Speaker 1: at art is when I'm scanning to find out if
- 55:20Speaker 1: I own it. That's that's it. After that, I'm out.
- 55:25Speaker 1: I don't. I don't look at the art. I don't
- 55:27Speaker 1: need it anymore. I just need to know what the
- 55:31Speaker 1: card does do, and then after that I'll figure out
- 55:34Speaker 1: art afterward.
- 55:35Speaker 3: Yep, this game, I just yeah, it is. It is
- 55:39Speaker 3: very good. The art is very very good, and a
- 55:42Speaker 3: lot of art stuff for the next set is also
- 55:49Speaker 3: very good. There will be sixty eight reveals coming in
- 55:55Speaker 3: January from various content creators. I don't know who, I
- 56:01Speaker 3: don't know where, but I know for a long time
- 56:05Speaker 3: a lot of people have been begging for different creators
- 56:09Speaker 3: to partner with Altered to bring more eyes to the game.
- 56:16Speaker 3: I think I have.
- 56:18Speaker 1: A question I have with back you and I had
- 56:20Speaker 1: we kind of talked about it, and I understand where
- 56:24Speaker 1: you're coming from, But are they will because like a
- 56:27Speaker 1: lot of those people, like people don't realize like a
- 56:30Speaker 1: lot of these creators charge money. Yes, like they're not
- 56:34Speaker 1: just going to pimp your game, like you have to
- 56:36Speaker 1: give them something to pimp your game. Like they don't
- 56:38Speaker 1: just do it for free. So I'm like, huh, we
- 56:43Speaker 1: would do it for free. Well, yeah, we would do it.
- 56:46Speaker 1: We would do it for free equinox.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Yes, saying and I mean they are.
- 56:52Speaker 1: Dirty, dirt, dirty, dirty little altered hors. But a lot
- 56:57Speaker 1: of these creators charge, so I don't I don't think
- 57:00Speaker 1: people realize that when they do it because like nobody
- 57:03Speaker 1: is doing this like the two who was the two
- 57:05Speaker 1: cosplayers there.
- 57:07Speaker 3: Lua and Anna and yeah, it did cost money.
- 57:10Speaker 1: I would say, I will guarantee you both of them
- 57:12Speaker 1: cost money. Like they were they were there x a
- 57:15Speaker 1: lotted amount of time. Their hotels were probably comped. Maybe
- 57:21Speaker 1: not their meals, that's typically not something that's comped. But
- 57:28Speaker 1: being somebody who's in the game knowing, yes, these these again,
- 57:33Speaker 1: these people aren't free. They cost they cost cash. So
- 57:37Speaker 1: I don't know if that's necessarily the correct approach, you
- 57:40Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like, Yeah.
- 57:44Speaker 3: I kind of have I would say a differing opinion
- 57:48Speaker 3: from the general public. I I, as I've said before,
- 57:53Speaker 3: I'm a little newer to the TCG scene at large.
- 57:57Speaker 3: Came from more competitive like video games like Rainbow Stakes
- 58:00Speaker 3: and stuff.
- 58:02Speaker 1: I hate that game.
- 58:04Speaker 3: Who's Who's a really big like TCG YouTube channel that
- 58:08Speaker 3: a lot of people just love the Professor Yeah, okay, yep,
- 58:12Speaker 3: that is one the Professor Hilarian whatever the hell. Yeah,
- 58:18Speaker 3: people are like calling for them to, you know, partner
- 58:21Speaker 3: up with altered and like you said, they cost money.
- 58:25Speaker 3: And I also think it's not as worthy of an
- 58:30Speaker 3: investment because they're probably just going to do the one video.
- 58:36Speaker 1: And then it's done and never talked about again.
- 58:39Speaker 3: Yeah. So I I do prefer what would be referred
- 58:44Speaker 3: to as micro influencers, and there's there's been a lot
- 58:47Speaker 3: of study to show that they end up being more
- 58:50Speaker 3: beneficial because you know, they're a little more in tune
- 58:54Speaker 3: with their community and they are going to talk about
- 59:00Speaker 3: the game more, play the game, more things like that.
- 59:02Speaker 3: But whatever, whatever, happens whatever, that's the.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Thing, and I can't I'm sorry, I can't see your
- 59:08Speaker 1: full name. All I can see is us I don't
- 59:09Speaker 1: so I don't know the full name. But let's up.
- 59:15Speaker 2: The least comments.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Yeah, sign Yeah, Okay, I can't see the whole name.
- 59:19Speaker 1: So my apologies. But I think it's great if they
- 59:25Speaker 1: get big names, but only if people who want to
- 59:27Speaker 1: continue to cover, not just a one time deal, like
- 59:31Speaker 1: and that kind of is like a big thing, right,
- 59:34Speaker 1: Like it would have to be like almost like we
- 59:37Speaker 1: need x amount of content for this you know, year
- 59:43Speaker 1: time period or whatever it may be. Because you know,
- 59:46Speaker 1: like a lot of you don't know a lot of
- 59:49Speaker 1: you do you guys, realize that the professor was doing
- 59:51Speaker 1: KeyForge content for free for quite some time.
- 59:55Speaker 2: I didn't realize it was for free. I knew he
- 59:57Speaker 2: was doing some he was.
- 59:58Speaker 1: Doing it because he liked the game. Okay, right, obviously
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: then FFG does fucked up, and you know, I'll do
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: the rest is history. We can go into a key
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Forge history lesson another day. But he was doing KeyForge
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: content for some time. And you gotta remember a lot
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: of this, A lot of these episodes and these videos
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: they put out. This is this is their livelihood. They
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: don't have another job to go to, you know, they
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: don't have anything else going on. This is how they
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: make their money and it's a big gamble going outside
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: of your what you know will get you views. So
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: that's where the compensation comes in, where a third party
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: will then pay them to do something. You know, it's
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: basically a compensation for any views they may lose.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: Yeh, yep. I would say it's probably. I mean, I
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: can't say for certain, but main Deck has done content
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: on the game, and I think that was out of
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: their enjoyment of the game because they've partnered Altered has
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: partnered up with creators before, but I think it was
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: mainly ones over in Europe when they were first revealing.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Which would make sense, like a European company, that makes sense.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: But I don't remember any from the US revealing cards.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: But because my question is you had two, I wouldn't
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: call their cosplayers. I don't know if I call them content.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I don't know if they create any content other than
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Instagram stuffs. I follow neither of them. I still don't
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: know who they are. I know one's heavily tatted, which
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: drives the lookie crazy, But like, how did they do,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Like did they seem to have a grasp of the game,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: do they know what they were doing? Yeah?
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I think both of them were a really great choice.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Uh Anna is very very magic heavy from what I know,
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: and Lewa is also magic and universes, and both of
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: them really took to the game, either having played it
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: before a little bit or I yeah, I think both
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: of them played at least a good amount before, but
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: packs I think kind of increased that that love. I've
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: seen them interacting more in the community, commenting in the discord,
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: talking about making new decks, things like that. So as
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: far as I know, they did really well and it'll
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: be good, I believe.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: Because the worst case scenario is like you bring a
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: creator in that like doesn't do their homework and they
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: struggle the whole way through, right, Like that's like worst
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: case scenario because nothing says I'm paid to be here,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Like you have no idea what's going on? Right yeahs,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: And that's terrifying for anyone that's like actually in the
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: community that's like looking for this game to be, you know,
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: more than just a fly by another fly by night.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: So it's it was definitely playing the game and knowing
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: how to play it, and their time in the booth
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: was spent playing instead of, you know, just standing there
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: and taking pictures, so it was very good. As for
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: if Altered Corner is going to reveal a card.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: I would say yes, absolutely, Okay, well, but remember what
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: the Wookie says doesn't necessarily those are not the thoughts
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: and opinions of all of the Altered Corner. They are
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: my own.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: Yes, we want to I as as much as I
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: know and as much as I can't say because I'm
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: under nda I I would say ninety percent chance ants
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: that the answer is no, because KPI's for podcasts are
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: not really like a very visible thing, and my TCG
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: YouTube is very small, and I do not make enough
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: videos because I'm busy doing all of this running the website,
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: trying to get people out to locals. So I have
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: not been told that there is anything. I guess there's
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: still a chance that either myself or Altered Corner could
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: receive an email next week. Well, I would also say
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: it could there could be a downside to how connected
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: I am in being that.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: You don't need to say that particle.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sorry I just gotta I gotta be honest, you.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Know, I'm kind of part of the thing so many
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: at all. Thanks cal, Yeah, it's all right, you know,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: and I'll be honest with you. Like, so here's the deal.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Like Arkans Corner the other show I do listen to
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: us every Thursday, Like there there there's I know. Like
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: spoilers are like real cool and whatnot, but like for
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: a for a podcaster, like for for podcasts ourselves, right,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: spoilers and special guests appearances kind of suck, right because
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: they are very they they they boost your stats for
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: the day, but then they do nothing for you afterward. Right,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: So like if we had Loki on right, like there'd
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: be a ton of people that probably come listen, but
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: then they'd never listen again. Right, They're they're just here.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Your retention rate is very very small when you do things,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: when you do things like giveaways, and you do things
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: like having special guests on and like reveal episodes, and
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: if you go in and you look like so go
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: look at some of your favorite content creators who are
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: doing magic, who are doing you gie, oh, Pokemon all
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: that kind of things, Nine times out of ten they're
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: not doing the bigger guys aren't doing the reveals, and
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: that's the reason, because it doesn't you get this idea
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: that it's gonna get you a whole bunch of views,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: and if you just get that one time, right, like,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: oh man, we're gonna make it. But like, either a
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: podcast is gonna make it, or a YouTube channel or
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: anything is really honestly gonna make it or break it
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: on themselves, as crazy as that sounds, like either this
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: podcast is going to do very very well, and it
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: has nothing to do with whether we've gotten a a
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: spoiler card or we get Loki on the show, or
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: you know, whatever that case may be. Right, the podcast
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: does well because the show does well. You know, the
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: show does. People enjoy it, people like listening to it.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: There's probably a reason that, you know, even though according
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: to ze our counts are you know, key Forge is dead.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: You know, there's probably still a reason there's a bunch
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: of people listening, And it's because the Wookie says dumb shit, right,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: and people are literally listening to see what dumb stuff
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: Bookie is going to say next, right, And it probably
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: has a little bit more to do with that than
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: anything else. How do I know this I've had a
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: lot of people that I've never met before tell me so,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: So that's that's that's your best thing is you know,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: I just listened to what kind of dumb stuff you're
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: gonna say? Perfect, that's keep coming back. The Wookie does, Yeah,
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: the Wookie does definitely say dumb shit. And the more
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: you listen, the more dumb things I'll say, and we
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: can keep going.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: Yep, And Altered Corner so far has Dexter's mom a
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: very lovely lady.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Dexter's mom is a very lovely lady. Let me tell
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: you Dexter's mom.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: So I would say, if there's a chance that there
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: was a spoiler reveal at all in the future connected
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: to Altered Corner, it would be because I actually started
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: putting out videos or someone else in the cast started
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: putting out videos, because you know, it's a visual format.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: Probably more likely I am not hot enough to get
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: an Instagram following.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: That's not true, Coal, You are a very handsome man.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: The problem is you don't have tits.
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: That's the real I mean, I might have too much anyways,
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: So if you want to see certain Altered videos, let
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: me know, because that'll motivate me. To actually do it. Well,
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: that's that's kind of all the main big things from packs.
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: Those are all the things I had notes on. Of course,
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: it was great to see friends. I have friends that
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: I usually only see at conventions because almost all of
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: us work them in some fashion around another. I used
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: to be big into tabletop RPGs, so I have friends
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: that way that sell them, DM them, GM them whatever.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: So that was nice. Lots of good food. I only
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: came away with one rash.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: What what what?
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: Listen, I'm gone to a lot of conventions and I'm
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: just gonna go out there and say this, I've never
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: come home with a rash.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: Well, Ghostbuster Girl.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Ghostbuster Girl's day. I might come home in a
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: little more than a rash, if you know what I mean,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: a Ghostbuster Girl a little more. But like I've come
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: home with the kon crud.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: Sure, I actually yeah, I actually feel pretty good. I
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: don't think I'm getting sick. I have really sensitive skin.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: And I don't know what it was about Philly. I
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: think it was.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Like dry Philly is a dirty tone from Philly. I apologize,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: but your city is filthy.
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: The water was different maybe whatever, Oh.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: You don't drink the water, Jilly.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Well, I had to shower. Nah, the detergent that the
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: hotel used on the sheets, I don't know something it
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: messed up my skin.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: But it was good.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: It was a good time, lots of good food, like
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: I said, good conversations. I guess, does anyone, including you two,
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: have any any questions?
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys didn't go out and and enjoy the
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: night life?
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: Like no, I mean, I can tell you all the
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: extracurriculars that I did, but I don't know if it's nightlife.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Like you hit up any cool but see Okay, so
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: on on ARCNS corner, right, we have something called the
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: draz Core experience where every member of AC almost dies once, right,
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: and it's normally from alcohol poisoning.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: But well, I did say at the start that the
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: French can seemingly drink really well.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: So yeah, was like, where'd you guys, like, you guys
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: hit up any cool any cool bars in the Philly
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: this because packs is Philly downtown, right Yeah?
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: Yeah, So the the big spot that we went to
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: a lot was the Reading Terminal Market because it was
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: really easy to get lunch, and I got like four
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: sandwiches from the same place over the time. Because they
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: were so good. We went the first night, we actually
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: went to Chili's and I had a very dry black
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: bean burger, but the fries were good. The dinner reserv
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: I had on Saturday was a place called Monster Vegan
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: and it's a like old horror movie themed like bar
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: and restaurant, so they had like horror reels playing. All
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: the drinks came in like skulls and stuff. I got
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: a drink called the Garden Party Massacre. I don't drink alcohol,
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: so it was just like a bunch of juice and
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: seltzer Man.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: What is what you guys in in Texas? Does nobody
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: drink in Texas?
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: I mean in Texas there's a lot of drive through
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: Margarita's drive through beer. I'm actually from Utah, though, so
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: that's that's more on brand. Utah liquor laws are very weird.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: But no, I just don't drink for a handful of
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: reasons that are probably depressing to get into on an
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: altered podcast. What else did we go.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: Drink for a variety of reasons? Yeah, I mean, if
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: you listen to Arcaves Corner, that's most of our fun
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: time is somebody got too drunk, dumped somebody else on
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: their head. Yep, there was.
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: We went to a place just down the street from
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: one of the hotels called Luca Cartel. I had some
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: really good tacos and there was a whole picture of
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: very blue Margarita's that three people split. One person named
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: Simon maybe drink way less than his fair share, but
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: he did warn us that he was a lightweight, so
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: you know, I guess, guess kind of a pass on that.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: Some good breakfast food but mostly Redding Terminal Market, and
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: then a lot of playing TV two And yeah, I
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: did a draft after hours at one time, drafted into
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: TV two, like I mentioned earlier, which was a lot
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: of fun, and I passed on a unique so I did,
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: I think you're not.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: Is TV two the only multiplayer format or is there
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: also just like four player free for all? Because I
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: haven't looked into the multiplayer rules at all.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: Still there is free for all, but I don't know
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: if there's official free for all rules there are Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: nothing official. I think it's the exact same, but I
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: think the rules are technically for TV two. But yeah,
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: it was a lot of fun. TV two is a
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: lot of fun.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Uh, it was.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: It was cool the city school other than giving me
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: a So.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I, like I said, I've never gone
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: to a convention, Like where does rash come from? I
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: mean I've been like, oh yeah, got cotton credugh, somebody
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: dirty was around me and then you know, never never,
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: never rash. But I think, when are they going to
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: be doing like the bigger events. I know that's coming
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: next year, No, no sort of anything on on that,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: and when some bigger events are going to be coming
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: so I can play in my twenty twenty five.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: So I think it's officially unofficial that they will be
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: at PAX East. I cannot confirm whether I will be
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: there or not. I would say there's a high chance.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: That exactly like we need. I feel like we need
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: the Altered Corner meet up, right, Like, yeah, I've met
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: the Boston Boston, I've met THEE and Zach. Right. We
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: used to all hang out. I mean not so much
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: because Zee and Zach are kind of lame, not gonna
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: be like They're like, We're gonna go to the hotel
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: and study, Like what I play better hungover, as proven
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: by key Forge celebrations, I did nothing but stay up
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: till four in the morning and drink heavily and I
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: went positive. The whole weekend didn't make anything, but it
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: went positive. And but like I've never met you, I've
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: never met Ogre, I've met Dexter. So I think it's
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: I think it's high time that that this happens. But
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: I just don't know when the next big event is
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: going to happen.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: Yeah, so pack Ceased is definitely the next convention that
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: Altered will be at. I don't know who, but it
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: will be right up next to Set three release, so
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: you can expect some similar thing.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: The next year is.
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: No, it's May ish somewhere around there. Yeah, Face East.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: I'm doing a Google somewhere in the middle ish of
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: the year, So late summer, early fall will be the
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: Confluence events. One will be in Paris, one will be
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: somewhere in the United States. My bet is Vegas, but
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: who knows. It might end up back at Phoenix, just
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: because the venue is really nicely sized. You know, it's
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: hard to get places to help out with an event
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: like that, but I know they want it to be
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: more than just a tournament, So maybe not back in Phoenix,
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: but who knows.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: For sure though, Yeah, Pax East is May eighth to eleventh,
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: so summertime. I should maybe make it there Boston. I
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: don't know, I've never been to Boston.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: Try to make see what friends we could freeload off of.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: I don't know anybody that I know anybody in Boston.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: I do not either, But if I'm going, it's because
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: I will be paid to go. The The Quebecuah players
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: are closer to Boston, so a lot of them will
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: probably be there. And as we usually give a shout
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: out to thirty nine cards dot com because of all
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: the deck list collating and collecting, I met Tom, the
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: creator of thirty nine Cards. Very nice dude. We never
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: see him play in the events because he's always grabbing
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: the deck lists, but can confirm also a very good
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: altered player.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: So nice. Did you pimp us out to any of
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: the brass around I mean, listen, listen to our podcast,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: big wigs, other influencers, whatever.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: No, I took a very bad job about that. Honestly,
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: I think I know. I think people why does my
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: computers do that? I think people that like knew us,
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: knew who I was, so they're like, oh, hey, like
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: I'm I'm Maddix or you know, I talked to Zared
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: for like thirty minutes and then he was like, oh hey,
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: I'm Zered by the way. I was like, oh shit, cool, But.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: I was I was very busy.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: I technically had my Altered Corner card in my deck,
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: but I was just I was busy paying attention to
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: everything the whole time.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: So maybe we got to create business cards like we
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: did for AC or other ace.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: I think we have little business cards, right. I think
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: I was little QR codes with the Discord server.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that those are the ones that Damos made, and
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: I did take one of those. I just didn't really
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: have much time to you know, uh what you gonna
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: call it network. I was busy or I was out
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: with friends or talking about altered just stuff.
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: That's where you gotta got into those conversations. Oh oh yeah,
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: totally forgot. I have a podcast, man, Yeah.
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: Yeah, will while I remind you that, uh, trace ability
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: does get counters this way, you should check out this
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: podcast exactly.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: See that you gotta work, You gotta fly about it. See,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: you need a little bit I could teach you a
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: thing or two. Call you need a little bit of
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: a wookie charm, you know, it's not for everybody, but
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: you know, it's okay.
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: I think I do. I think it was asked of
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: me to make business cards, so it's it's somewhere on
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: my list.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: It's somewhere on the list.
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: Yeah, record us on Twitch, Come watch on Twitch, even
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: if you don't subscribe. If you watch an ad, it
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: helps me a little bit and altered corner a little bit.
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: So I might need that more because I came back
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: from Packs and my first meeting back was me losing
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: my job, so that was cool.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: No bueno. But make sure you follow us over on

- 1:23:06Speaker 1: it's altered Corner. That's all right. Does a thing.
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: Where the where the downstairs neighbor paying?
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: No rent?
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: This is very true, This is very true. We're gonna
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: have to talk about that rent soon though. Just kidding,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: it's a joke.
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: Sorry, I'm unemployed.
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: I'm also unemployed, but that's not an issue for me.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: Dumb college student. I don't even know why you're on
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: the show. To be honest with you, you should be like,
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: it's Friday night, you don't have any parties to go to?
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Not now that college is over.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Oh that's right, college college is overall? Yeah, winter break?
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I want to break I just have one question, Dexter. Yeah,
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: how do you pay to live? And how do you
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: pay for your college? Uh?
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: So my parents pay for me to learn, I rest,
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: and then my granddad paid for my college.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I told you his Mom's a wonderful way.
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: I pay for key Forge and Altered. That's all that
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: I pay for.
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: I still owe twelve grand on the college that I
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: had to pay for myself while working a job and
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: dropped out and not getting a degree. Yeehah.
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: I work in a job that my degree has nothing
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: to do with. Also, yeehah. Maybe not. Dexter pays for
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: fun insurance. Yeah, I just I'm just like, I'm shocked
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: at like Dexter can squeeze us into his his busy,
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: tight schedule.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: I'm literally doing nothing, man.
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: I don't know why you're doing nothing. Man, you should
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: be out partying or something. That's what I did in
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: college and I got a degree didn't do anything for me.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: But I have one that does nothing. But anyways, I
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: think that's gonna do it. We'll bitch about college degrees
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: on a later episode. I think that's gonna do it
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: for us this week. Big thank you to Cole for
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: for going all the way to pass you and getting
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: a rash so that we can talk about it. And again,
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: make sure you follow us over on Twitter, make sure
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: you follow us on Twitch. Make sure you check out
