Transcript
- 0:04Bella Goode: Hi there, I'm Bella Goode and this is Surviving Trump.
- 0:08Bella Goode: In my last episode, we walked through how white supremacy has changed shape over the past four centuries.
- 0:16Bella Goode: From slave codes and segregation to the coded language of modern politics, we ended in the present where this ideology isn't hiding anymore.
- 0:26Bella Goode: It shows up in speeches and laws and in rules that shape what children learn in school Today we take the next step.
- 0:35Bella Goode: What happens when that belief system infiltrates the White House itself?
- 0:39Bella Goode: Because in 2025, white supremacy isn't just talk, it's a governing plan, written out, organized, and carried out under one name.
- 0:49Bella Goode: Project 2025.
- 0:54Bella Goode: Project 2025 is the 900 page transition manual, drafted by the Heritage Foundation and a network of far right policy institutes.
- 1:04Bella Goode: Not to mention Stephen Miller and Russell Vault publicly.
- 1:09Bella Goode: They describe it as a blueprint for restoring America, But beneath that patriotic packaging is something older and more familiar.
- 1:18Bella Goode: It's a plan to preserve racial and cultural dominance by redefining who belongs and who counts.
- 1:25Bella Goode: It blends the traditional tools of white supremacy, control over citizenship, voting, and public education with modern systems of bureaucracy, data, and digital communication.
- 1:38Bella Goode: The goal isn't chaos.
- 1:40Bella Goode: The goal is redesign.
- 1:42Bella Goode: Redesign the census, redefine citizenship, rewrite the meeting of democracy itself.
- 1:49Bella Goode: Inside the Republican Party, this agenda has exposed deep fractures.
- 1:55Bella Goode: Establishment conservatives still focus on economics and border management, but the MAGA wing demands something else entirely Ideological, purity.
- 2:06Bella Goode: And demographic control.
- 2:09Bella Goode: Donald Trump's dominance has pulled the party towards that faction, the one that views demographic change as an existential threat and government power as the instrument to stop it.
- 2:22Bella Goode: We saw the clearest example of this shift in October of 2025 when the administration slashed the US refugee admissions cap to just 7,500 people, the lowest number in modern history.
- 2:36Bella Goode: Almost every slot was reserved for white South Africans, specifically Africanos, descendants of the European settlers who once enforced apartheid.
- 2:47Bella Goode: The White House justified this move as an act of protection for victims of racial discrimination.
- 2:54Bella Goode: South Africa's government responded immediately saying there was no evidence of state sanctioned persecution against white citizens.
- 3:02Bella Goode: And yet the order stood, it redirected the refugee program away from people fleeing war and famine, people in Sudan, Afghanistan, Haiti, and towards a population that does not face systematic danger in its home country.
- 3:20Bella Goode: Human rights advocates called it exactly what it was.
- 3:23Bella Goode: White supremacy disguised as a refugee policy.
- 3:28Bella Goode: It wasn't bureaucratic adjustment.
- 3:30Bella Goode: It was a declaration of values, a statement that whiteness itself had become a credential for humanitarian priority for scholars and immigration organizations.
- 3:42Bella Goode: This decision offered unmistakable proof that the administration's immigration agenda is not colorblind.
- 3:49Bella Goode: It's color coded project 2025 carries that logic into every corner of government.
- 3:58Bella Goode: Its chapters lay out an architecture of control with two major components, one aimed at shaping demographics and the other one aimed at shaping political power.
- 4:11Bella Goode: On the demographic side, the plan calls for eliminating birthright citizenship, criminalizing undocumented presence, and expanding deportation operations to a scale not seen in modern history.
- 4:24Bella Goode: It proposes defunding sanctuary cities inserting a citizenship question into the census, reducing legal immigration based on nationality and dismantling diversity and inclusion programs across federal agencies.
- 4:40Bella Goode: It also revives English only standards and schools and public services while weakening enforcement of civil rights and fair housing laws.
- 4:49Bella Goode: Each of these measures narrows who is recognized as fully American taken together.
- 4:57Bella Goode: They attempt to freeze the nation's racial composition in place, slowing, shrinking, or reversing the very demographic changes already underway.
- 5:09Bella Goode: The second component focuses on political power itself.
- 5:12Bella Goode: Project 2025 outlines ways to move election administration under presidential authority to purge voter roles in the name of fraud prevention and restrict early mail-in voting, which are disproportionately used by young, urban, and minority voters.
- 5:30Bella Goode: It encourages aggressive poll monitoring and introduces new criminal penalties for election workers creating an atmosphere of intimidation around democratic participation.
- 5:43Bella Goode: The plan also limits federal oversight under the Voting Rights Act and weakens court review of election disputes.
- 5:51Bella Goode: And it leaves open a path for states to refuse certification of election results by invoking vague claims of irregularities.
- 6:01Bella Goode: None of this makes democracy stronger.
- 6:04Bella Goode: It creates a system where a smaller and smaller group.
- 6:08Bella Goode: That is the white population.
- 6:10Bella Goode: Soon to be a minority holds onto power by deciding who gets counted, who gets to vote, and who has a voice.
- 6:19Bella Goode: That's what modern white supremacy looks like.
- 6:22Bella Goode: It's not men with hoods and torches.
- 6:25Bella Goode: It's executive orders, edited census forms, school curriculum bans, online propaganda, and quiet rule changes.
- 6:33Bella Goode: Most people never even notice.
- 6:36Bella Goode: All designed to tilt the playing field towards one group and away from everyone else.
- 6:42Bella Goode: Social media, magnifies those messages, turning conspiracy theories about crime and immigration and education into mainstream talking points.
- 6:52Bella Goode: Outrage becomes policy.
- 6:54Bella Goode: Fear becomes governance.
- 6:56Bella Goode: Meanwhile, book bans and curriculum purges marketed as a fight against critical race theory.
- 7:03Bella Goode: Remove the very history that students need in order to recognize how systems of racism operate.
- 7:11Bella Goode: What started as a culture war has become administrative law?
- 7:15Bella Goode: Through project 2025, ideology is turning into an execution plan.
- 7:22Bella Goode: Inside the GOP, a few strategists have expressed quiet concern.
- 7:27Bella Goode: They warn that an overtly racial agenda risks alienating moderates and suburban voters.
- 7:35Bella Goode: But the Trump Wing has made its choice preserving white political power even for a short time.
- 7:43Bella Goode: Has become more important to these leaders than anything else, and when they start seeing demographic change as a threat to their control, they abandon ethics, ignore facts, bend the law, and do whatever it takes to hold onto power.
- 8:00Bella Goode: That's the shift we're watching happen right now.
- 8:05Bella Goode: The refugee cap decision is the most visible proof, but the same logic runs through immigration rules, education policy, census manipulation, and the systematic dismantling of voting protections.
- 8:18Bella Goode: Each action may look isolated, but together they form a coordinated design, an administrative system built to protect a shrinking racial majority.
- 8:29Bella Goode: None of this is hidden.
- 8:31Bella Goode: It's written down, published, and proudly promoted by those who have created it.
- 8:37Bella Goode: With this episode, we officially closed the foundation series of season two episodes one through six.
- 8:44Bella Goode: Were designed to give you the map, the why, and the how before we begin our deep dives.
- 8:51Bella Goode: We've established two pillars.
- 8:53Bella Goode: Demographics, meaning who gets counted, and included in the story of America and elections, meaning who gets to convert their voice through their vote.
- 9:03Bella Goode: From census edits to refugee caps, from curriculum bans to ballot restrictions, every tactic points back to the same objective.
- 9:13Bella Goode: Maintaining dominance through exclusion.
- 9:18Bella Goode: From here, season two will take those pillars apart, piece by piece we will examine birthright citizenship and the push to erase it.
- 9:26Bella Goode: We will follow the trail of voter suppression from state houses to Congress.
- 9:30Bella Goode: We will look at attacks on education, libraries, and teachers, and how each piece fits into a larger project to control public knowledge.
- 9:40Bella Goode: And we will trace the machinery of deportation and the growing role of data in determining whose voices matter.
- 9:47Bella Goode: In American democracy, America's story has always swung between inclusion and exclusion between democracy and domination.
- 9:59Bella Goode: Project 2025 is simply the latest attempt to formalize the latter to turn fear of demographic change into federal policy.
- 10:09Bella Goode: But context matters when we place these pieces next to one another.
- 10:14Bella Goode: Census questions, refugee caps, voting rules.
- 10:18Bella Goode: The design becomes impossible to ignore and recognition.
- 10:22Bella Goode: Is the first step towards resistance.
- 10:26Bella Goode: White supremacy keeps evolving and democracy will have to evolve faster.
- 10:33Bella Goode: In our next episode, we begin the deep dive.
- 10:37Bella Goode: We're gonna start with who gets counted, determining who holds the power.
- 10:41Bella Goode: We'll start with the census, the backbone of American democracy, and follow the trail from population counts to political maps to see how laws and algorithms determine whose voices shape our future.
- 10:56Bella Goode: I'm Bella Good, and this is Surviving Trump.
- 10:58Bella Goode: Season two.
- 11:00Bella Goode: Stay informed and never underestimate the power of knowing exactly what they're building.
- 11:06Bella Goode: And why they're building it.
