- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast this week on Yo
- 0:13Speaker 1: Gabble Gabble.
- 0:14Speaker 2: If you see your brother for a lean he put
- 0:16Speaker 2: on the property, can you get that money back?
- 0:17Speaker 1: Boss Ross says, lean on me.
- 0:20Speaker 3: If you wear a big hat, have a spit, take
- 0:22Speaker 3: and shower. The judges compliments, will they rule? Your favorite
- 0:25Speaker 3: judge Steve Harvey tells us how he sees it.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And if a runaway car it hits a car, will
- 0:31Speaker 1: you run away with some money? Judge? Million cases, real
- 0:34Speaker 1: people cases, thank justice? This is you gable gabble. Hey,
- 0:39Speaker 1: wasn't that was that was good?
- 0:41Speaker 2: You didn't even say thanke justice Brandon. I wanted the
- 0:44Speaker 2: one person that I thought would get it right.
- 0:46Speaker 4: So what I for some reason, what I thought was
- 0:49Speaker 4: gonna happen was it was gonna be real people, fake
- 0:52Speaker 4: real people, real cases. And then I thought Brian was
- 0:54Speaker 4: gonna do fake justice. For some reason in my mind,
- 0:57Speaker 4: That's how it was, even though we talked to about it.
- 1:00Speaker 4: But that's just it was three cases, not a not
- 1:04Speaker 4: a minute to lose.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Brian. Welcome to the pod. It's your gabble gabble gavel.
- 1:08Speaker 1: It's that's exactly right. Tribble the gavel triple the fun
- 1:12Speaker 1: Every gabble is a case. That's exactly right. We had
- 1:14Speaker 1: six they were.
- 1:16Speaker 4: That's right, Dan, do you let's just do it in
- 1:19Speaker 4: order of what we who brought it, who brought And
- 1:22Speaker 4: what I mean is the intro.
- 1:23Speaker 1: We always do it in order of who brought it.
- 1:25Speaker 1: That's what we do. I'm bringing it and bringing it
- 1:27Speaker 1: like an eight been brought. That's right. Do you have today?
- 1:30Speaker 1: I've got Judge Ross.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And I don't know if you know this, and Brian,
- 1:34Speaker 2: I don't know if you know this because you never listened.
- 1:35Speaker 1: But justice not a foreign content, that's true. Have you
- 1:40Speaker 1: ever watched a Judge Ross? Have you ever watched Kevin Ross?
- 1:46Speaker 2: He makes the most mundane cases, it is, and that's
- 1:49Speaker 2: the problem. He makes the most mundane cases great because
- 1:53Speaker 2: he just gives you a lecture. It's like he's America's dad.
- 1:57Speaker 4: It's like still it's still on, but like somehow always
- 2:02Speaker 4: looks ten years old.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It's always yeah, it's crazy.
- 2:05Speaker 2: And you know how I know it's still on is
- 2:06Speaker 2: because I watched the newest episode that I just know
- 2:08Speaker 2: at all. Uh No, people were back to the bailiff
- 2:13Speaker 2: has gotten old hair completely white.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Wow, same bailiff. Is he rocking a mask?
- 2:19Speaker 3: Uh?
- 2:19Speaker 1: No, mustache not a foreign concept? Not no.
- 2:22Speaker 2: And he's like, all right, he does the full thing
- 2:24Speaker 2: with his you know, yeah, and he does the full
- 2:27Speaker 2: vegg wy Thomas he does. And then we get to
- 2:29Speaker 2: talk about uh, Lena Davis, Lena del Rey. Lena Davis
- 2:36Speaker 2: is suing her brother, Daniel Brynner is related for two
- 2:41Speaker 2: thousand dollars. She's suing her brother too too large, too large. Okay,
- 2:45Speaker 2: and listen, this is gonna get serious here.
- 2:48Speaker 1: It is gonna get serious. Two thousand dollars is on
- 2:50Speaker 1: the table.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Lena is saying that, listen, there's a property that was
- 2:55Speaker 2: left to us by our parents. I'm gonna let you
- 2:58Speaker 2: know up front, the math is not gonna work out here,
- 3:00Speaker 2: and rarely the path is not gonna work out is
- 3:02Speaker 2: because I'm not sure exactly what happened in the case,
- 3:08Speaker 2: and I've.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Watched it so great, this is gonna come across real Well,
- 3:12Speaker 4: it's gonna be great.
- 3:13Speaker 1: It's gonna be good. It's gonna be good. It's gonna
- 3:14Speaker 1: be good.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Uh, the property has left us by our parents, and
- 3:18Speaker 2: he took a lean out on the property. Do you
- 3:21Speaker 2: know what to lean his brain.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Yeah, but if it's goot, like, why would they what's
- 3:25Speaker 4: the gain in doing that?
- 3:26Speaker 2: He took a loan to try to make improvements to
- 3:29Speaker 2: the property, and he didn't tell her. He didn't tell me.
- 3:34Speaker 2: And then basically Ross talks to Daniel and goes, what
- 3:37Speaker 2: what's going on? He says, it's a mountain property, no
- 3:39Speaker 2: construction on it.
- 3:41Speaker 1: It's just land.
- 3:42Speaker 2: But my dad, before he died, he had a dream
- 3:44Speaker 2: to make it a bed and breakfast, so he wanted
- 3:47Speaker 2: to turn this land.
- 3:48Speaker 4: So it's just land. It's just yeah, trees, land told it.
- 3:52Speaker 4: So he took out a loan to build something, to
- 3:54Speaker 4: build something on.
- 3:55Speaker 2: There, but later she says it was to make renovations
- 3:59Speaker 2: and the loan was only for six thousand dollars building
- 4:03Speaker 2: a porta potty.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I don't know what that.
- 4:04Speaker 4: What can you renovate? I don't know, Brandon, and we
- 4:07Speaker 4: don't know how renovator. They're just gonna mow it. Man,
- 4:11Speaker 4: these trees need some renovation. I just got to renovate them.
- 4:15Speaker 1: We don't know how much. It's not just two thousand means,
- 4:19Speaker 1: I don't Renovation is a foreign concept.
- 4:22Speaker 2: That's the weird thing about Judge Ross, because it is so,
- 4:26Speaker 2: Lena says, uh, the will, they read the will.
- 4:29Speaker 1: The land was given to us equally. Uh.
- 4:31Speaker 2: But when my dad passed away, my brother disappeared, and
- 4:36Speaker 2: and I and then Daniel said, listen, my father, yeah,
- 4:39Speaker 2: going just spontaneous disappearance.
- 4:41Speaker 1: My father and I didn't have the best relationship. He
- 4:44Speaker 1: was really tough on me.
- 4:45Speaker 2: And Ross takes this moment to say, that's what fathers
- 4:47Speaker 2: are supposed to do, because he's America's Justice daddy.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I'm trying to coin that. I don't know how it's going,
- 4:52Speaker 1: but that's what we're gonna do. What is it, America's
- 4:54Speaker 1: Justice Daddy? Yes, yeah, you like it?
- 4:57Speaker 2: Well.
- 4:57Speaker 4: I tried to coin Hallmark Daddy and people got mad.
- 5:00Speaker 4: I don't know it works. He's America's Justice and you're
- 5:02Speaker 4: saying Hallmark Daddy didn't did not work well, Hallmark Daddy disagrees.
- 5:07Speaker 2: The Devil's already come down on that. Uh So then
- 5:10Speaker 2: he says, look, he died. I didn't have a chance
- 5:12Speaker 2: to mend our relationship, make it right. I was ashamed,
- 5:15Speaker 2: and I just don't cope the same as everybody else does.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I cope by taking out loans. I cope by leaving apparently, okay,
- 5:22Speaker 2: And Lena is like, that's not it at all, Judge Ross,
- 5:25Speaker 2: he's irresponsible. I've been taking care of him financially for
- 5:28Speaker 2: a long time. And Daniel says, yes, that is true.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I'm kind of a jack of all trades, master of
- 5:33Speaker 2: none to be honest.
- 5:35Speaker 1: He's honest. I gotta be honest. I'm not good at anything.
- 5:39Speaker 4: I do feel like this is a type of case
- 5:41Speaker 4: that I like shouldn't be listening in on, Like this
- 5:44Speaker 4: seems like it's between the two of.
- 5:46Speaker 2: You, boy family issues. Yeah, no kidding, And Lena says,
- 5:50Speaker 2: that's not what it is. He's more like a man whore.
- 5:53Speaker 4: All right, listen. He agreed though that he's like he did.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Say worse in fact, and and uh and he's like
- 6:04Speaker 2: a man whore okay, And Judge Ross is like.
- 6:07Speaker 1: So he.
- 6:09Speaker 3: So.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Jud Ross tries to unpack it in America's Justice Daddy
- 6:12Speaker 2: would and he says, uh so he tends to get
- 6:16Speaker 2: financial support from the ladies, and Daniel's like, wow, my
- 6:21Speaker 2: sister's just putting my business out there. So he's upset
- 6:24Speaker 2: now he doesn't Master of none disagree though he never
- 6:27Speaker 2: and and and Judge Ross is like, so you like
- 6:29Speaker 2: the ladies, and he's like, yeah, yeah, I do.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Like you know your honor, it is what it is.
- 6:35Speaker 2: And Lane is like, so he came back after being
- 6:39Speaker 2: gone for forever, knowing the land was half his, and
- 6:41Speaker 2: he said he wanted to fulfill Dad's dream to be
- 6:43Speaker 2: the bed and bread, to run bed and breakfast.
- 6:46Speaker 1: That's what he wanted to do.
- 6:47Speaker 2: And I was supportive of that decision and was the
- 6:51Speaker 2: financial backer of that. This is where I get confused, okay,
- 6:55Speaker 2: because then we go to Daniel. We don't get any
- 6:57Speaker 2: more information, and I'd love for you to watch it,
- 6:59Speaker 2: because the cut is she sits on the financial backer
- 7:01Speaker 2: and Roscoe so.
- 7:02Speaker 1: What was it?
- 7:03Speaker 2: And Daniel says, well, I told her it was gonna
- 7:06Speaker 2: be two thousand dollars. It turned out to be six
- 7:09Speaker 2: thousand dollars. I'm reading exactly what she says. So she
- 7:13Speaker 2: gave me one thousand to help pay off the first half,
- 7:16Speaker 2: but then she left me to deal with the rest
- 7:18Speaker 2: on my own, and I put up three k Okay.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Give it to me one. Let's wipeboard this out. Give
- 7:23Speaker 1: it to me one more time.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I thought it was two thousand dollars. Who's saying this
- 7:27Speaker 2: Keith danielus Daniels saying he's not. But at what was
- 7:30Speaker 2: two thousand dollars? I guess the upfront money for this
- 7:34Speaker 2: loan I don't know, or just the loan e gin
- 7:37Speaker 2: or the money I don't know. Okay, the money for renovations,
- 7:40Speaker 2: the money. Here's the best I can figure is the
- 7:42Speaker 2: money for renovations was six thousand dollars. And he thought
- 7:45Speaker 2: it was gonna.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Be so there is a building there must be. It
- 7:49Speaker 1: can't just be land. They say.
- 7:50Speaker 2: It's literally no building, just land. Okay, you can see
- 7:54Speaker 2: where in the confusion lies, though. Look it's gonna get
- 7:57Speaker 2: murkier before it gets better. Brandon, I'm just letting you know.
- 8:00Speaker 1: He thought it was going to be just two thousand dollars.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Yes, And so he tells her and she pays her
- 8:05Speaker 2: half one thousand dollars. Great, and I put up he said,
- 8:08Speaker 2: she said. He said, I put up one thousand dollars myself.
- 8:11Speaker 4: So they weren't gonna So what I'm getting here is
- 8:13Speaker 4: they weren't gonna take a loan, that's right. What they
- 8:15Speaker 4: were gonna do is they were gonna try to do
- 8:16Speaker 4: all themselves for two thousand dollars.
- 8:18Speaker 2: So then it turns out it's six thousand dollars. There's
- 8:21Speaker 2: four of us four we need four and she didn't
- 8:25Speaker 2: give me anymore and I put up two more thousands.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Okay, well that's just still not that where we need
- 8:29Speaker 1: to be.
- 8:29Speaker 2: And Ross says, where'd you get three thousand dollars? And
- 8:32Speaker 2: he says, you know you know how to do? You
- 8:35Speaker 2: know how do man horing? Man horing is how he done?
- 8:38Speaker 2: Got it apparently, But isn't that doesn't that American jigglow?
- 8:43Speaker 2: Doesn't that equals seven?
- 8:44Speaker 1: No? One each? Right? Then two? Then he puts two more.
- 8:48Speaker 1: That's four.
- 8:49Speaker 2: There's two thousand hanging out there. This is what we're
- 8:51Speaker 2: being sued over, apparently, right, but you said three? You
- 8:54Speaker 2: said where did he put three up?
- 8:56Speaker 1: One initial? Yeah? Okay, got it? Got it?
- 8:59Speaker 2: Sorry, sorry sorry he's Ross says, oh, so you didn't
- 9:02Speaker 2: have the full six, So they put a lean on
- 9:04Speaker 2: your property, basically saying, whatever you do in that property,
- 9:07Speaker 2: you owe us before you anything else.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Got it? So that's where we are, And he said, yes, sir.
- 9:13Speaker 2: He goes and then he just Ross stops like he's
- 9:16Speaker 2: very disgusted by this, and he just goes, what's wrong
- 9:19Speaker 2: with you? Oh, my gosh, what's wrong with you? And
- 9:22Speaker 2: he says, your honor, I'm addicted to women and depression,
- 9:24Speaker 2: your honor. That's what he says, your honor. I'm addicted
- 9:27Speaker 2: to women and depression.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Your honor. Uh.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I think I don't think he means he's addicted to depression.
- 9:33Speaker 2: But that's a different conversation for different day.
- 9:35Speaker 1: He might be. He might if he knows his cycle,
- 9:38Speaker 1: then like, we have a lot of fact better help
- 9:43Speaker 1: promo code. I think it might still work. I don't
- 9:44Speaker 1: know who knows promo code.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Gavel that doesn't work, And he basically says, you know,
- 9:51Speaker 2: gabbles like gl Ross is like, if you have an addiction,
- 9:55Speaker 2: you just you got to acknowledge that you haven't and
- 9:57Speaker 2: then you got to fix it.
- 9:58Speaker 1: But you got to get some help. And so who
- 10:00Speaker 1: turns to Land and he's like, well, what'd you do?
- 10:02Speaker 2: Lene is like, well, instead of asking me to pay
- 10:04Speaker 2: the other two thousand, he didn't tell me there was
- 10:06Speaker 2: a lean and he asked me to buy him out
- 10:08Speaker 2: of the property. And so I bought him out. I
- 10:13Speaker 2: bought him out for ten thousand.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Dollars.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Can I ask you this question though, like why didn't
- 10:19Speaker 4: it just work? Like why didn't the renovations work?
- 10:23Speaker 1: You you would ask that question. I don't have an answer.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Because it sounds like if they needed six thousand dollars
- 10:28Speaker 4: to get a bed and breakfast up and running, which
- 10:31Speaker 4: is what I'm gathering here.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a really cheap bed and breakfast, you know
- 10:36Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Like he did the thing, he got the lid out
- 10:39Speaker 4: like trees, so clearly something didn't work and he's not
- 10:42Speaker 4: able to pay back the money.
- 10:43Speaker 2: That's right, right, Yeah, So she basically buys him out
- 10:47Speaker 2: for ten grand, and then she turns around and sells
- 10:50Speaker 2: the landat for twenty five thousand dollars.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Ross is like, oh, so he made a nice little
- 10:56Speaker 2: profit there. She's like, yeah, but because of the lean,
- 11:00Speaker 2: she lost two thousand dollars of it, okay, and now
- 11:04Speaker 2: she wants him to pay her that two thousand dollars
- 11:07Speaker 2: to make her hole because it was her property and
- 11:11Speaker 2: it was their property and she bought him out. Now,
- 11:13Speaker 2: the weird thing is she's bought him out at the
- 11:16Speaker 2: time that she sells it, so she wants the two
- 11:19Speaker 2: thousand back.
- 11:20Speaker 4: But technically by buying him out, she has inherited her ownership.
- 11:25Speaker 2: She and Ross doesn't want any more information. He's ready
- 11:29Speaker 2: to rule.
- 11:31Speaker 4: I think legally he doesn't owe her like she took
- 11:35Speaker 4: on that debt when she bought him out. I mean,
- 11:39Speaker 4: if you want to get fun with it, like I'll
- 11:42Speaker 4: be like I would be like, you have to pay
- 11:45Speaker 4: the two thousand, but you're not gonna pay it to her.
- 11:47Speaker 4: You're gonna go get go to rehab or something like,
- 11:49Speaker 4: just get wild with no no. But but I don't
- 11:52Speaker 4: think he owes anything personally.
- 11:54Speaker 1: It's a no go for you. Harold.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a criminal. Genius's great. Aleen handed that property
- 11:59Speaker 3: off and took off. Forget the guy. Yeah, she gets
- 12:02Speaker 3: it's she's it's a response.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It's a manhoring one oh one. Yeah, this is this
- 12:06Speaker 1: is daddy's mouth. This is the intro. That's right. Forget it.
- 12:10Speaker 1: It's the intro, that's what it is. Yeah, he he doesn't.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Basically as soon as he hears everything, Ross goes. So
- 12:17Speaker 2: this isn't about two thousand dollars. You want your brother
- 12:20Speaker 2: actually own up and be responsible.
- 12:21Speaker 1: That's right.
- 12:22Speaker 2: And the problem is is you've let him off over
- 12:24Speaker 2: and over again, financially back to him when he should
- 12:27Speaker 2: have been getting help. He should have been getting treat me.
- 12:29Speaker 2: You shouldn't have let him do this. I have to
- 12:31Speaker 2: rule in favor of the defendant. Then he looks at defendant,
- 12:33Speaker 2: he goes, you need to get some help right now,
- 12:35Speaker 2: and that's the end. The gabble rules. Justice Daddy is
- 12:38Speaker 2: in session and now out of session.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Wow, all right, fair enough.
- 12:41Speaker 4: I've never been more confused as to what exactly we
- 12:45Speaker 4: sued over, Like, yeah, the whole thing whatever, Brian, who
- 12:51Speaker 4: do we got?
- 12:51Speaker 1: What are we doing? I want with the judge Steve
- 12:53Speaker 1: Harvey one, you're gonna do one right now. I think
- 12:57Speaker 1: he's a good in this economy.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Yeah, this Harvey to play inflation the way it is
- 13:02Speaker 3: so if you so, this case has one big hat,
- 13:05Speaker 3: two spit takes, and it dips its toe into racial profiling.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Oh, these are three of my favorite and knew it
- 13:13Speaker 4: wow to do cases about guys.
- 13:16Speaker 3: God cal about so plaint of a Jeanette Levingston. She's
- 13:21Speaker 3: suing her friend of thirty years, defendant Melanie Williams. An
- 13:24Speaker 3: Jeanette claims that.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I got to be honest speak of profiling. I heard
- 13:28Speaker 2: hats and spit takes, and just assume we were talking
- 13:30Speaker 2: about men.
- 13:31Speaker 1: That's on me. That's on me. It's completely on me.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Yeah, this this case already taking a right turn, right
- 13:37Speaker 3: or left? You know, you don't know an Jeanette. So
- 13:40Speaker 3: she claims that her friend's cat, Panda, what the cat
- 13:49Speaker 3: has soiled her carpets all over her house, okay, suing
- 13:52Speaker 3: her for six grand to replace all the carpets.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Melanie says her panda would never do that. No, means
- 13:58Speaker 1: the cat, the cat. She named her cat, another animal, Yeah, pick.
- 14:05Speaker 3: The cat, be specific pen of the cat would never
- 14:07Speaker 3: do that other pandas cannot.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Technically, so Panda the cat is little box panda. I
- 14:15Speaker 1: don't know. These would not someone I don't know. Yeah,
- 14:21Speaker 1: I don't know, man, I don't know. It could be anybody. Uh.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Melanie's Panda is litter box trained. She's very specific about that.
- 14:28Speaker 3: So and she does not like confrontation, but she will
- 14:31Speaker 3: defend her panda. That's what she says at the very beginning.
- 14:34Speaker 4: So to be clear, what happened there was for the
- 14:36Speaker 4: you've never seen Harvey, they give he gives each of
- 14:39Speaker 4: them sixty seconds to state their case, thirty thirty seconds
- 14:44Speaker 4: to state their case, and then and now we're going
- 14:47Speaker 4: to get to more more of it your case. Now,
- 14:50Speaker 4: let's do that we were going to do before. Now
- 14:52Speaker 4: let's state the longer case. But I appreciate what you did, think.
- 14:55Speaker 3: So the So then we start with with Melanie and
- 14:59Speaker 3: she starts her statement. Actually this is her opening statement,
- 15:02Speaker 3: and the defendant mentally calls Enginette a damn liar. Oh
- 15:06Speaker 3: Anginette just happens to be taking a sip of water
- 15:09Speaker 3: at that moment and spits it out when she when
- 15:13Speaker 3: she hears this. So Steve loves that, Betty, Yeah, that
- 15:17Speaker 3: the crowd loves that. You can't stay just pit take
- 15:19Speaker 3: it's impossible.
- 15:19Speaker 1: No, yeah, that's what I've heard. There's your genuine every time. Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah. That was totally not planned, nothing like that.
- 15:26Speaker 1: So Antinette, so little background.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Anjeinett bought her house in twenty nineteen and she had
- 15:30Speaker 3: the carpet completely replaced before she moved in, and so
- 15:33Speaker 3: she had a brand new carpet. She had saved up
- 15:35Speaker 3: for this house for a few years and paid eight
- 15:37Speaker 3: thousand dollars for the down payment and at this moment,
- 15:39Speaker 3: we have a really funny exchange where Steve takes us
- 15:43Speaker 3: just deliberately takes a sip of his water, spits it
- 15:46Speaker 3: everywhere at the idea of her paying eight thousand dollars
- 15:48Speaker 3: for a house down This is where Uppercruss Steve peeks
- 15:53Speaker 3: through because he didn't he wasn't thinking about a down payment.
- 15:56Speaker 3: He doesn't realize, doesn't understand he's.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 16:01Speaker 3: We had a little We had to go through a
- 16:02Speaker 3: little back and forth for him to understand that the
- 16:04Speaker 3: A gram was just the down payment. And at this
- 16:07Speaker 3: point we have water all over the set, so they
- 16:10Speaker 3: were slipping slides, a mess. So Melanie visits her friend
- 16:14Speaker 3: and Jeanette. She brings her cat, Panda. When she visits
- 16:18Speaker 3: Pana the cat. Yes, yes, we do have a photo
- 16:20Speaker 3: of Pana the cat.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Very cute. Does he look like a pan does he
- 16:24Speaker 1: look at all?
- 16:25Speaker 3: He's he's a black cat, okay, thin, any white stripes, spots,
- 16:29Speaker 3: any white nose, white paws, yeah, very cool? White pause
- 16:32Speaker 3: and a white too white Tommy, nice full white Tommy,
- 16:37Speaker 3: good looking cat. Uh we so Anjeanette claims that there
- 16:40Speaker 3: are stains all over her carpet and they're from Panda,
- 16:43Speaker 3: and we do have photos of how long was she
- 16:45Speaker 3: there for? She visits like a few times a year.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I think they live in different cities. Okay, so Melanie
- 16:51Speaker 3: will go visit and bring her cat, stay for everywhere,
- 16:54Speaker 3: destroy the place. So we do have pictures of the
- 16:57Speaker 3: damaged carpet, and it was damaged there.
- 17:00Speaker 1: There's definitely stains.
- 17:01Speaker 4: So now are but are these stains from one specific
- 17:03Speaker 4: instance or is it accumulation of years of urine?
- 17:07Speaker 1: They don't say.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Okay, I assume it's over nineteen Yeah, so I assume
- 17:11Speaker 3: it's over the years that these things have accumulated in
- 17:14Speaker 3: different spots, and she's noticed them in different areas.
- 17:16Speaker 1: She's finally had enough, I think.
- 17:19Speaker 3: So we then have a brief discussion about Panda's diet
- 17:22Speaker 3: and how much food he takes in daily, and Steve
- 17:24Speaker 3: is trying to figure out clearly if what he's eating
- 17:27Speaker 3: could result in what's ending up in the carpet.
- 17:30Speaker 1: And so then.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Like pet Detective Steve Harvey, so Steve asks Anjeanette if
- 17:37Speaker 3: she's ever seen with her own eyes Panda defacing her carpet. Sure,
- 17:41Speaker 3: And at this point it comes up that Angeinette wears glasses,
- 17:44Speaker 3: and she's not wearing glasses at this moment, and she
- 17:47Speaker 3: doesn't usually wear them at home. We find out because
- 17:50Speaker 3: she knows where things are, so she hasn't seen Panda
- 17:53Speaker 3: the cat in the act, and so we have a
- 17:55Speaker 3: oh boy.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 17:57Speaker 4: So because she knows where things are in her house,
- 18:00Speaker 4: she just walks around half blived.
- 18:02Speaker 3: She just yeah, she see she would rather not see.
- 18:06Speaker 4: She's seeing friend of thirty years comes over for a week,
- 18:09Speaker 4: and she doesn't want to actually see her.
- 18:11Speaker 3: She must have barely see her fuzzy details. She does
- 18:15Speaker 3: not need how she discovered the spots then, right, well,
- 18:19Speaker 3: assume at some point she had to put on her
- 18:20Speaker 3: glasses for something and what is this? So maybe that's
- 18:23Speaker 3: how over the years she never really noticed this happening.
- 18:26Speaker 3: So one day she's never seen the cat do it?
- 18:29Speaker 3: Never she with her own eyes. So then we have
- 18:33Speaker 3: a very nostalgic moment for me. Anyway, where Steve goes,
- 18:37Speaker 3: you can't see you without your glasses. And I just
- 18:39Speaker 3: had to pause it for a moment and do a
- 18:41Speaker 3: little my girl replay.
- 18:42Speaker 1: In my mind. Oh took me right back, And then
- 18:44Speaker 1: I thought, take it to the tape my girl. Oh boy,
- 18:49Speaker 1: how that would God, I've never seen you. Yeah, that checks,
- 18:52Speaker 1: that checks, of course. I know there's a bed. How
- 18:54Speaker 1: old are you? Yeah? Forty? Forty? Dude, you look?
- 18:57Speaker 2: Are you really forty? That's unbelievable. Thank you, that's unbelieve
- 19:02Speaker 2: that's good. Come on, man, forty you thank you.
- 19:04Speaker 3: It's you know, it's the north Northeast living.
- 19:07Speaker 1: That's northeast. I heard that miles your food diet. Wow, yeah, forty,
- 19:15Speaker 1: Get out of here. I think.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah, turned forty this year, man, So you and I
- 19:20Speaker 2: always have the same references because we're very close to that.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I turned thirty nine. You. Yeah, I forget that.
- 19:24Speaker 1: You're I'm just a you don't.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Hey, I'm gonna I'm gonna spoil the whole have you?
- 19:28Speaker 2: Has it been spoiled? The beast things?
- 19:30Speaker 1: Colley dies?
- 19:31Speaker 3: Right?
- 19:31Speaker 1: Macaulay dyes? Are the girl dies? Does both die? It's
- 19:34Speaker 1: called my Girl brand? What do you think happens? That
- 19:36Speaker 1: could mean anything? That could literally mean anything.
- 19:39Speaker 4: They could Okay, Kevin' that's what he says.
- 19:44Speaker 1: And he's allergic to bees. Nobody can get that, bro EpiPen.
- 19:48Speaker 1: It's tough. It's tough out. They're on in the tree. Yeah,
- 19:52Speaker 1: dan Ackroyd, it's great. It's a good one. It's a
- 19:55Speaker 1: good one. Spring your tissues.
- 19:56Speaker 3: So so then Anginette and Steve had this weird flirt
- 20:00Speaker 3: flirt thing about her being able to find Steve's TV
- 20:03Speaker 3: show and his radio show without her glasses, and he
- 20:06Speaker 3: kind of is like.
- 20:07Speaker 1: You don't need your glasses for that. Huh. She's like,
- 20:09Speaker 1: I don't.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Need I got you, preset, I don't need my glasses
- 20:12Speaker 3: for you, Steve. And he's really into like her fandom
- 20:16Speaker 3: of him, and she's really in and so he's ready
- 20:18Speaker 3: to rule in her favor at this point.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he closed.
- 20:22Speaker 3: So Melanie is starting to feel the heat though, and
- 20:24Speaker 3: so she brings up that Anjeanette has young grown children
- 20:27Speaker 3: who come over her house, and a Jeanette insists they
- 20:30Speaker 3: eat at the table, they're not tracking anything throughout the house,
- 20:33Speaker 3: they're not making a mess anywhere. And so then man
- 20:37Speaker 3: Melanie defendant here, she's scrambling, and she brings up some
- 20:40Speaker 3: photographic evidence that Pandy uses the litter box by showing
- 20:43Speaker 3: a picture of him standing in a little.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I mean, there you go. That doesn't prove anything, but sure,
- 20:48Speaker 2: but the other woman hasn't ever seen the cat do anything. Yeah,
- 20:52Speaker 2: I'm not saying that's like not bad.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I'm just saying like you could put a cat in
- 20:57Speaker 4: a box and take a picture and be like, see
- 21:00Speaker 4: that's not that's not proof.
- 21:01Speaker 3: And in the photo, Steve points out and I I
- 21:04Speaker 3: agreed with Steve before he mentioned this, it looks like
- 21:06Speaker 3: the guiltiest cat he's ever seen in this photo. And
- 21:09Speaker 3: I tried to capture a screenshot of it, but I
- 21:12Speaker 3: Hulu blocked it.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Like, yeah, it's a classic a man whatever guilty.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Look, it did not look good for Panda in this situation,
- 21:22Speaker 3: even though he was in a litter box. Uh so
- 21:24Speaker 3: that he looked like you just got back from tagging
- 21:27Speaker 3: the rug?
- 21:27Speaker 1: What he looks like, uh the whole time?
- 21:34Speaker 3: Get that camera off me. So Steve asked a really
- 21:36Speaker 3: good question at this point to defend it. Melanie Penna's
- 21:39Speaker 3: owner there, do you have any stands on your.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Carpets at home? It's a great question.
- 21:42Speaker 3: She says, no, you know what else she doesn't have
- 21:45Speaker 3: at home? Carpet, hardwood floors throughout. That calls her out
- 21:50Speaker 3: on this, And Steve loved the sneakiness of Melanie in
- 21:54Speaker 3: that moment.
- 21:54Speaker 2: It's interesting the change of oh, yeah, because the carpet
- 21:58Speaker 2: could feel like a litter box, I said, because cats cats.
- 22:04Speaker 1: He's a jelical catelic.
- 22:07Speaker 3: So uh so, yeah, so she has hardwoods, and so
- 22:10Speaker 3: we do get an estimate to prove that Enginets has
- 22:13Speaker 3: a real quote for the six thousand dollars. You know,
- 22:15Speaker 3: it's very standard labor materials.
- 22:17Speaker 1: It adds up. The math in this one does add up.
- 22:20Speaker 1: It does.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Yes, So Steve, he makes a great joke at this
- 22:23Speaker 3: point about Panda getting blamed for this because he's black. Oh,
- 22:27Speaker 3: the place erupts class there. It was perfectly time. I mean,
- 22:32Speaker 3: Steve at his best. I want to say he is.
- 22:36Speaker 3: He's curled over over his desk or whatever he's sitting at,
- 22:40Speaker 3: and the plate they do camera shots of the whole audience.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Every single person gets a moment of.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Every individual person in the audience. Was a great laugh.
- 22:50Speaker 1: It was phenomenal. So that was really really funny.
- 22:52Speaker 3: And then uh he said, it's really easy to blame
- 22:54Speaker 3: Panda because he's black.
- 22:56Speaker 1: And then he's ready to rule, and that is it.
- 23:00Speaker 1: So it's for six thousand dollars six thousand to replace
- 23:03Speaker 1: the carpet.
- 23:03Speaker 4: This is a tough one, but I do think that
- 23:07Speaker 4: because she chooses not to wear her glasses and live
- 23:11Speaker 4: half most of her life half blind, I do think
- 23:14Speaker 4: it's a tricky one to give her money for most.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Of her life. House line is great.
- 23:18Speaker 4: I'm gonna choose to not award her any money. But
- 23:22Speaker 4: knowing Steve Harvey, can I ask you this? So like
- 23:25Speaker 4: their friend been best friends for thirty years?
- 23:27Speaker 1: Like years?
- 23:29Speaker 4: Is this the only thing that's like the reason why
- 23:31Speaker 4: they're in court is because of this? Like that's something
- 23:33Speaker 4: else happened to tear them apart.
- 23:34Speaker 1: They did not go into the friendship side of it.
- 23:36Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm gonna say Steve is gonna not award
- 23:39Speaker 4: her anything, but they he is gonna give them six
- 23:41Speaker 4: thousand dollars to go on a girl's trip and patch
- 23:43Speaker 4: things up.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I say that somehow like, uh, he like makes somebody
- 23:48Speaker 2: donate some money to like cats.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I don't know. He always calls weirdly.
- 23:52Speaker 2: He doesn't just do it normally because I would say,
- 23:54Speaker 2: no money for her at all?
- 23:56Speaker 1: What do you guess?
- 23:57Speaker 3: Yeah, uh, you can't see you without your glasses. We
- 23:59Speaker 3: get one more those lines, no money, no money. Go
- 24:02Speaker 3: fix your friendship.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Yeah, go just go fix it. Steves Than just ready
- 24:07Speaker 1: to get out of there. He told his joke. He's like,
- 24:11Speaker 1: it's time to go right. Uh one more guys, People's Court.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Are you ready for it? Ready? What judge is that?
- 24:18Speaker 1: Joseph forget that.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Joseph Marinelli is suing for seven hundred and thirty dollars
- 24:23Speaker 4: six cents for car damage. He's suing Mary Cleary.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Mary, clearly, that's the name you made up on take
- 24:30Speaker 2: the day off it is.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I will stand by.
- 24:33Speaker 4: So Joseph, our guy went to a pizza place. It's
- 24:38Speaker 4: in a shopping strip. Marinelli sounds Italian, so he knows.
- 24:41Speaker 1: He knows his pizza.
- 24:42Speaker 4: He's eating some zauce frust in his car, so I
- 24:46Speaker 4: guess he got it to go. Maybe it's a slice
- 24:47Speaker 4: or two, gets it to go. He's eating in his car,
- 24:49Speaker 4: talking to a friend and they hear a big calm down.
- 24:54Speaker 4: I thought it was going to be better. Yeah, that's
- 24:56Speaker 4: a bang on the back of their car. So he
- 25:00Speaker 4: he gets out. They go to look at it, and
- 25:03Speaker 4: they see a shopping cart has struck the back of
- 25:06Speaker 4: the vehicle, and so Mary comes running up. Mary Cleary
- 25:11Speaker 4: and she's like, I'm so sorry about that cart got away.
- 25:16Speaker 4: He notices at this moment a few dents, some paint
- 25:18Speaker 4: has chipped, and so he decides that he's going to
- 25:21Speaker 4: call the cops.
- 25:22Speaker 1: To file a report. Head was probably could have been
- 25:26Speaker 1: a lot of things.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Yeah, So at this point, he claims that a bigger
- 25:31Speaker 4: guy came following her Mary Cleary, maybe mister Cleary, I
- 25:36Speaker 4: don't know. Uh. He he assumed that it was her husband,
- 25:41Speaker 4: saying what he what he says? He he claims that
- 25:44Speaker 4: he said, uh, you're not gonna want to do that.
- 25:47Speaker 4: So Joseph felt threatened at this moment. So he says,
- 25:51Speaker 4: I just ended up exchanging information with her. I didn't
- 25:53Speaker 4: want to get the cops involved because a big boy
- 25:55Speaker 4: over there, you know, it is kind of threatening me.
- 25:58Speaker 4: I felt threatened. Mary pipes up and says, that's just Brandon.
- 26:03Speaker 4: I can't believe you're even saying that he's working today
- 26:07Speaker 4: or he'd be here, but he's so nice.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Job.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Also, also, we're just friends, so I want everyone to
- 26:16Speaker 4: know that. So she's like, but if anything, they were
- 26:20Speaker 4: harassing me for my info, and Judge is like, well,
- 26:24Speaker 4: that's kind of the thing, Like you gotta do.
- 26:27Speaker 1: You gotta get the info.
- 26:28Speaker 4: If they're not gonna give you the info, you gotta
- 26:29Speaker 4: try to, you know, get the info out.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I get it where you can do.
- 26:33Speaker 4: This is exactly right, but she continues by saying, well,
- 26:35Speaker 4: I just didn't feel like I needed to give them
- 26:37Speaker 4: my info because the parking lot at the stop and
- 26:40Speaker 4: shop is on a hill. The car went down the
- 26:44Speaker 4: hill on its own. I didn't push it or anything.
- 26:46Speaker 1: The cart.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you said, carry car with a t car rollerbox
- 26:50Speaker 2: derby situation.
- 26:51Speaker 1: So the cart went down the hill on its own.
- 26:54Speaker 4: I didn't push it, So I don't feel like it's
- 26:56Speaker 4: my responsibility. I was putting the groceries in my car
- 26:59Speaker 4: when came kart started to go. I ran after it
- 27:03Speaker 4: and hit his car. But he uh, he didn't say
- 27:06Speaker 4: that he wanted to call the cops. What he told
- 27:09Speaker 4: me was that he's an employee of the stopping shop,
- 27:13Speaker 4: and procedure is that you just get people's information, bring
- 27:17Speaker 4: it to the stopping shop, and they'll take care of
- 27:20Speaker 4: it because the supermarket is on a slant, so they'll
- 27:23Speaker 4: take care.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Of any damage.
- 27:24Speaker 4: Market sweep. It's a supermarket. Sleep That's exactly right. Joseph says,
- 27:29Speaker 4: that's old protocol. Stopping shop doesn't do that anything. Did
- 27:32Speaker 4: he say that to Mary Cleary though, Uh, he's I
- 27:35Speaker 4: don't think he's hold on. So he says, that's no
- 27:38Speaker 4: longer the protocol. They used to do that. People were
- 27:40Speaker 4: taking advantage of it. I do work there, but I
- 27:43Speaker 4: wouldn't have wanted to get my employer involved on my
- 27:46Speaker 4: day off, so I would never have said that.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I didn't say that, So I think what he's getting at.
- 27:52Speaker 4: There is that Mary Cleary has probably taken advantage of
- 27:55Speaker 4: the system before.
- 27:56Speaker 1: That's what I felt like he was saying there.
- 27:58Speaker 4: So she says, well, Cereal cart runner, that's exactly right.
- 28:03Speaker 4: So she says, well, I talked to the manager and
- 28:05Speaker 4: they said they consider a situation like this an act
- 28:08Speaker 4: of God.
- 28:10Speaker 1: We're a shopping cart like a hurricane.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Yes, exactly right, lose control shopping car. No, she didn't
- 28:16Speaker 4: lose control over it. The wind took it down a hill. Dan,
- 28:20Speaker 4: that is not an act of God. So he gives
- 28:24Speaker 4: pictures of the car, scratches and whatnot and estimates clearly.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Seven thirty is the well.
- 28:31Speaker 4: So she then pipes up and says that, well, he
- 28:36Speaker 4: likely only provided you with the seven hundred and thirty
- 28:38Speaker 4: dollars estimate. But he called me and he told me
- 28:40Speaker 4: that he got a second estimate of only three hundred
- 28:42Speaker 4: and fifty dollars. I told him I couldn't pay that,
- 28:46Speaker 4: so he said, I'm going to take you to small
- 28:47Speaker 4: claims court. He pipes up now and says, well, I
- 28:50Speaker 4: do actually provide two estimates. I did get two, one
- 28:53Speaker 4: for the amount that I'm suing for. One is a
- 28:55Speaker 4: little bit lower six hundred and seventy one dollars and
- 28:57Speaker 4: thirty cents what I told her on the phone. I
- 29:00Speaker 4: told her that amount of money. She said, I can't
- 29:02Speaker 4: pay that, so I offered to split it fifty to fifty.
- 29:05Speaker 4: So that's where that lower number of three hundred and
- 29:07Speaker 4: fifty we all.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Come to split the cost to fix his car that
- 29:10Speaker 2: she ruined, He says.
- 29:12Speaker 4: When she says that she couldn't pay the full amount,
- 29:16Speaker 4: I just wanted to try to get something. I was
- 29:18Speaker 4: trying to be nice. I was trying to stay out
- 29:20Speaker 4: of court. She said, she said no to the three
- 29:23Speaker 4: point fifty. That's why we're here today, and Milli Yon
- 29:27Speaker 4: dip it Low is ready to rule.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Bring it up slow, I am that last bit of information. Brand,
- 29:33Speaker 2: Can I tell you a bit of a curve bit
- 29:35Speaker 2: of a curve ball for me, because now you have
- 29:37Speaker 2: a verbal agreement to pay half. But keep in mind
- 29:42Speaker 2: she declined it. I'm gonna think he's gonna get the
- 29:47Speaker 2: six seventy one. It's gonna get the six seventy one thirty,
- 29:49Speaker 2: that's what I'm going with million, dip it low.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he's got it. And she you can't go
- 29:54Speaker 3: above that, right, she can't give could she give more?
- 29:56Speaker 4: Well, there's seven thirds, there's the higher mount, there's the
- 29:59Speaker 4: lower amount, and then there's there's three numbers that play here.
- 30:03Speaker 1: He's getting the most.
- 30:04Speaker 4: I think you think he's getting the most in the
- 30:06Speaker 4: full amount that he's.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Sooning frand new back end of that car. Yeah.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Yeah, he is going to get six thirty, she says,
- 30:16Speaker 4: because you can fix it for that amount.
- 30:18Speaker 1: That's how much you're gonna pay for. She tells Mary
- 30:21Speaker 1: clearly that I need you. That's right.
- 30:23Speaker 4: It shows Mary clear you should have just taken the
- 30:25Speaker 4: deal at fifty, but you are more. You're at fault.
- 30:30Speaker 4: If it's an incline, you just don't let the cart go.
- 30:33Speaker 4: So there can't say, as an act of God, you
- 30:36Speaker 4: let the cart go and the card is your responsibility.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Gotcha.
- 30:39Speaker 4: So even if it's on an incline or a decline,
- 30:42Speaker 4: however you want to look at this situation, they can.
- 30:46Speaker 2: No, there's a slants to God's right in supernatural territory.
- 30:53Speaker 1: That's right. We did. Everybody what a day? Three gavels
- 30:58Speaker 1: for the price of which is the price of one
