- 0:00Speaker 1: DFW, it's time to welcome Billy the Kid.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Billy the Kid.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 0:23Speaker 1: We're going to rock, baby. Monday, Monday, Monday, Monday. With
- 0:30Speaker 1: no AC.
- 0:31Speaker 3: No AC. No AC.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Yeah, it's about 150 degrees in the studio right now,
- 0:37Speaker 4: which makes me really happy, Candice.
- 0:39Speaker 5: Yeah, it makes me extremely happy.
- 0:40Speaker 3: You know, I love it. It's kind of like a
- 0:42Speaker 3: sauna that you didn't choose to go in.
- 0:44Speaker 6: Right.
- 0:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I love the sauna. When I plan to be
- 0:47Speaker 5: in the sauna, I have a towel and some nice music.
- 0:50Speaker 6: Right.
- 0:50Speaker 3: You can relax and there's.
- 0:51Speaker 5: Like a naked guy in the corner.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Staring at you. Wait, what?
- 0:56Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 0:57Speaker 4: It's Mix 102.9. Good morning. My name is Billy the Kid.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Candace Lopez is here. Producer Pooh is here. AC is
- 1:02Speaker 4: not here.
- 1:03Speaker 6: No.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Yeah, apparently our AC's been out for days, but nobody
- 1:07Speaker 4: wanted to tell us. So Pooh's like, yeah, by the way,
- 1:10Speaker 4: 4.30 in the morning. He's like, yeah, by the way, Billy,
- 1:12Speaker 4: AC's out.
- 1:13Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, okay.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Then I get here and he's like, yeah, I came
- 1:16Speaker 4: up here yesterday and it was like 95 degrees.
- 1:20Speaker 1: The whole building was off.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Wouldn't you want to tell me yesterday?
- 1:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Yeah. Or somebody. Right. Yesterday. Nah, we'll figure it out
- 1:28Speaker 3: Monday at 430. Right.
- 1:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:30Speaker 3: But why is there not a crew up here working
- 1:32Speaker 3: on it?
- 1:32Speaker 5: I don't know. We're here.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Yeah, we're here. But yeah. So any update on that, Pooh?
- 1:37Speaker 3: Do we have an AC update? No AC update as
- 1:40Speaker 3: of yet. Oh, cool.
- 1:41Speaker 5: Don't we have the hookup at A1 Air?
- 1:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:42Speaker 2: What is it?
- 1:44Speaker 1: A number one air.
- 1:44Speaker 5: A number one air.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:46Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:46Speaker 4: We didn't call them, though, because they would actually get
- 1:48Speaker 4: here and do things.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I don't know who we called. Oh, maybe we didn't
- 1:52Speaker 3: call anybody.
- 1:53Speaker 1: It's someplace called Net Tech or something like.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Oh, OK.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Well, good. According to our engineers.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Oh, awesome. Well, thank you, Net Tech. We'll see you soon.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Can't wait.
- 2:02Speaker 3: If you hear dead air, it's because of just pure
- 2:04Speaker 3: heat exhaustion.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 3: And honestly, it's not that hot outside. But when the
- 2:08Speaker 3: AC has been off, obviously for days.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Then it's a problem because I guess nobody's been here.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I don't know what's going on.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I couldn't tell you.
- 2:15Speaker 3: We're here.
- 2:15Speaker 5: We are here.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Candace, how are you?
- 2:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm all right. I mean, on top of the
- 2:19Speaker 5: hot flashes I'm already having, I mean, this is just,
- 2:21Speaker 5: I have a hormonal you-know-what storm today.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 2:24Speaker 5: So just a heads up, I got the brain fog.
- 2:27Speaker 5: Are you serious? I got the list of symptoms today.
- 2:29Speaker 3: I didn't know that.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Everybody be patient with me.
- 2:33Speaker 3: So besides the fact that there's no AC, I got
- 2:36Speaker 3: to sound the alarms?
- 2:36Speaker 5: Yeah, might as well.
- 2:39Speaker 7: Okay.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Now we know. There we go.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm here, though. You know, just had a really
- 2:46Speaker 5: busy weekend. We started off the weekend with Enzo coming
- 2:49Speaker 5: home from school, telling us that he, you know, said
- 2:52Speaker 5: that his good thing for the weekend was that he
- 2:54Speaker 5: was going to the Formula One race. Well, we hadn't
- 2:57Speaker 5: confirmed that we were going to be able to go.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Found out we weren't going to be able to go.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Poor guy. Then he says, well, I guess I just
- 3:03Speaker 5: lied to my class. We're like, no, buddy, you didn't lie.
- 3:06Speaker 5: You really legitimately thought you were going. He would never
- 3:09Speaker 5: tell everyone he was doing something if he wasn't.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I love that that's the first thing he worries about.
- 3:13Speaker 3: What a good kid.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I know.
- 3:15Speaker 3: He's like, wait, I didn't want to lie to my friends.
- 3:17Speaker 6: Right.
- 3:17Speaker 5: We felt so bad. But we ended up yesterday going
- 3:20Speaker 5: to this place called Velocity Sim Racing Lounge.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:23Speaker 5: They were having a big watch party, and so they
- 3:25Speaker 5: had all these supercars out front. Um, it's a whole
- 3:28Speaker 5: lounge full of racing simulators. You know, Enzo is obsessed
- 3:31Speaker 5: with the same. We have one at home. It's not
- 3:32Speaker 5: like these, these are like super, you know, legit. Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 5: So he got to race and watch the race and,
- 3:39Speaker 5: you know, meet a bunch of people that also love
- 3:40Speaker 5: formula one. And it was such a good time.
- 3:42Speaker 3: So he was happy.
- 3:43Speaker 5: He was very happy.
- 3:44Speaker 3: But the tickets to Formula One in Austin were insane.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Insane.
- 3:47Speaker 5: I went 10 years ago this exact race. I had
- 3:50Speaker 5: a hookup, but I've experienced it, like, you know, top
- 3:53Speaker 5: of the line, you know, experience in the paddock club.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Didn't get to go this year, but, yeah, it's over.
- 3:59Speaker 2: $ 500 a ticket.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Parking was over $ 200.
- 4:02Speaker 3: To park?
- 4:02Speaker 5: To park, yeah. Parking pass was like $ 215. Like, the
- 4:06Speaker 5: math just ain't mathing to have to go down and
- 4:08Speaker 5: come back for one day.
- 4:09Speaker 3: No, especially when you can see racing on the tollway
- 4:11Speaker 3: every morning.
- 4:12Speaker 6: Right.
- 4:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 3: That's Timu F1.
- 4:15Speaker 1: For sure.
- 4:16Speaker 5: But we had a good time over there at Velocity.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Well, good. Oh, I'm glad you made the best out
- 4:20Speaker 3: of it, then.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Yeah, thanks.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Producer Poo is here. Poo, what's up?
- 4:23Speaker 1: Man, last night, my son and his two friends, they
- 4:26Speaker 1: ordered Wingstop, and then they ordered the viral Sour Patch
- 4:30Speaker 1: Kids wings, and we tried them. And I'm going to
- 4:33Speaker 1: tell you right now, I love Sour Patch Kids, but no.
- 4:36Speaker 6: Really? Oh, no.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Not on Hot Wings. Oh, not on.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Oh.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I put it on my Instagram, but we did
- 4:43Speaker 1: an impromptu food review and no, zero out of ten.
- 4:46Speaker 6: Really?
- 4:47Speaker 3: Did I pass the food review? No, not at all.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I was like, what are you doing?
- 4:52Speaker 3: Oh, man. But you know what? You ordered it.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 4:55Speaker 3: That's what they're really trying to do.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 4:58Speaker 3: To get the curiosity factor.
- 5:00Speaker 2: If everybody orders one, we're good.
- 5:02Speaker 6: That's it. The new Mix 102.9.
- 5:04Speaker 7: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 5:07Speaker 7: Kid in the morning.
- 5:08Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9. We've got a.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Lot going on this morning. Candace Lopez, what's up?
- 5:14Speaker 5: Well, we have above normal temperatures continuing this week. We
- 5:17Speaker 5: do have low chances of rain overnight tonight. For now,
- 5:20Speaker 5: chances of rain closer to Halloween as well with slightly
- 5:23Speaker 5: cooler temperatures by the end of the week. It's 81
- 5:26Speaker 5: degrees in the studio, 61 degrees outside, guys.
- 5:29Speaker 6: I know.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I wish we had a window we could open.
- 5:30Speaker 5: Dude, can we do the show outside?
- 5:32Speaker 3: That would be so nice.
- 5:33Speaker 5: Right?
- 5:33Speaker 3: Right now, because it feels great out.
- 5:35Speaker 5: So good outside.
- 5:36Speaker 4: But 81 and rising in the studio. Either way, I
- 5:39Speaker 4: totally forgot that Halloween is this weekend.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 5: This weekend's a time change, too. Lots going on this weekend.
- 5:44Speaker 3: And rain. Great.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Well, possibly. We'll have to wait until we get a
- 5:47Speaker 5: little closer. There is a chance at this point. But
- 5:50Speaker 5: who knows if that's going to be during trick-or-treat hours
- 5:52Speaker 5: or not.
- 5:52Speaker 3: That's true.
- 5:53Speaker 6: Okay.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 5: Guys, the 2 and 4 Cowboys take on the 2
- 5:56Speaker 5: and 4 Eagles tonight in Philadelphia for Monday Night Football.
- 6:01Speaker 5: How do we feel about this?
- 6:02Speaker 3: Well, I mean, we have a good shot. And I
- 6:05Speaker 3: say this because their quarterback's out. Right. Jalen Hurts is out.
- 6:09Speaker 3: There's a lot of their starters are out. And we
- 6:11Speaker 3: play different against the Eagles just because we hate the Eagles.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Right.
- 6:14Speaker 4: And no matter what I feel that is going on
- 6:17Speaker 4: with the Cowboys right now, I.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Still will hate the Eagles.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Just as much as I ever have and ever will.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Exactly. Exactly.
- 6:24Speaker 5: Guys, by the way, we also got news that Miranda
- 6:27Speaker 5: Lambert will be the halftime performer on Thanksgiving here at
- 6:31Speaker 5: the Cowboys game where we again play the Eagles.
- 6:33Speaker 6: Oh, yeah. I know. I know.
- 6:35Speaker 5: I had to double check that. I'm like, we play
- 6:37Speaker 5: the Eagles tonight, but then we play them on Thanksgiving.
- 6:39Speaker 5: That's Miranda Lambert.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:41Speaker 5: It all checks out, guys.
- 6:41Speaker 3: That's cool, though. Yes.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Lots of things going on in the Cowboys universe, guys.
- 6:46Speaker 5: The parent company of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders is taking
- 6:49Speaker 5: legal action against the band My Chemical Romance. So apparently
- 6:54Speaker 5: they had dancers on stage dressed in costumes resembling the
- 6:58Speaker 5: iconic DCC uniforms. This was at their show last week
- 7:02Speaker 5: at the Hollywood Bowl. So I guess that wasn't the
- 7:05Speaker 5: big issue. The bigger issue was that these dancers appeared
- 7:08Speaker 5: to be carrying rifles during this choreography. They went through
- 7:13Speaker 5: this like staged a firefight with one dancer acting like
- 7:16Speaker 5: they were struck during the performance. So they're basically asking them,
- 7:21Speaker 5: do not wear the DCC style uniform while doing this.
- 7:25Speaker 5: But I haven't heard of an update just yet. But
- 7:26Speaker 5: did you see pictures of this?
- 7:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw. It's obviously the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.
- 7:31Speaker 5: Right. It's iconic.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, you know what it is. All they're
- 7:35Speaker 3: saying right now is just don't do it again.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Stop. Stop.
- 7:38Speaker 2: You can't do that.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you've done it multiple times. You're on stage.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Why is that necessary?
- 7:42Speaker 3: Using our likeness.
- 7:43Speaker 1: And it's there's violence everywhere.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Right, and people who see this aren't paying attention are like, hey,
- 7:49Speaker 5: wait a second, this looks real.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, people online started talking about it. They were like, oh,
- 7:53Speaker 4: they had cheerleaders on the stage. The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders
- 7:56Speaker 4: were on the stage. People started making jokes about it.
- 7:58Speaker 4: You're like, no, that's not okay. I think I was
- 8:00Speaker 4: more surprised that there was a... parent company to the cheerleaders.
- 8:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 5: Well, somebody has to own that brand, I guess, as
- 8:07Speaker 5: a portion of the Dallas Cowboys organization.
- 8:10Speaker 6: Right.
- 8:11Speaker 4: So it is the Dallas Cowboys, but it's like a
- 8:13Speaker 4: separate organization or business.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I know.
- 8:16Speaker 5: I mean, it's all confusing, but I'll keep you posted
- 8:18Speaker 5: if anything comes of that. And then real quick, guys,
- 8:21Speaker 5: the Backstreet Boys were the surprise performers at Drake's 40th
- 8:25Speaker 5: birthday party over the weekend. He joined them on stage
- 8:28Speaker 5: to sing I Want It That Way.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I saw that.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yeah. I love that.
- 8:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I love that he was giving out prizes at
- 8:35Speaker 5: his birthday party.
- 8:36Speaker 3: He was?
- 8:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I guess he had around 400 guests at this party,
- 8:39Speaker 5: but several people went home with luxury handbags. He was
- 8:42Speaker 5: giving out cash prizes from $ 10, 000 to a million dollars.
- 8:47Speaker 5: And then he was gifted a rare 1986 Ferrari Testarossa
- 8:51Speaker 5: for his birthday.
- 8:52Speaker 1: See, I need rich friends.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I know. We don't give you that.
- 8:55Speaker 3: All the parties I go to, I have to take
- 8:57Speaker 3: a gift. Exactly. I don't get gifts.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:01Speaker 5: He's out here giving away cash.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Good for him. Happy birthday, Drake.
- 9:05Speaker 5: Yeah, he's got AC too, guys, I guess.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Show off.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 9:10Speaker 4: I'm going to tell you right now, dirty little secret.
- 9:12Speaker 4: What I do know about it, it freaked me out
- 9:15Speaker 4: when I heard.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I was like, there's no way this is real. But
- 9:19Speaker 3: it's real.
- 9:19Speaker 4: She's calling in at 730. She's got a secret about...
- 9:23Speaker 4: It's just insane.
- 9:24Speaker 3: You just got to be a part of this secret
- 9:25Speaker 3: at 7.30 because it gave me, like, even what I know,
- 9:29Speaker 3: the chills right up and down. Like, the hair on.
- 9:32Speaker 1: The back of my neck stood up. And it wasn't
- 9:34Speaker 1: because I had a chill. Okay, no, definitely not.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Because the AC's not working in here.
- 9:38Speaker 4: So don't miss it. 7.30, Dirty Little Secret. Let's hook
- 9:42Speaker 4: you up with these tickets right now.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Who's this? Wendy. Wendy, what's up? Wendy, how are you?
- 9:46Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 9:46Speaker 2: How are you?
- 9:47Speaker 3: I'm good. Guess what? You're calling number one. Congratulations! Thank
- 9:51Speaker 3: you so much. You're so welcome. Where are you from?
- 9:54Speaker 2: Azle, Texas.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Azle. What's going on in Azle today?
- 9:59Speaker 5: I'm not there. I'm headed to Fort Worth for work.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Oh, you are?
- 10:02Speaker 2: All right.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Well, I was going to say, roll your window down.
- 10:04Speaker 4: I want to hear what's going on in Azle. I
- 10:08Speaker 4: love hazel.
- 10:09Speaker 3: I'm kidding around. Well, hey, Wendy, thank you so much.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Where do you work?
- 10:12Speaker 1: At the airport.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Oh, you do?
- 10:14Speaker 5: Yep.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Are you a pilot?
- 10:15Speaker 5: No, I'm a project planner.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Oh, that sounds important. Okay, well, go plan some.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Well, thank you so much, Wendy.
- 10:23Speaker 7: Thank you so much.
- 10:24Speaker 3: You're so welcome. Have a great day. Stay right there
- 10:26Speaker 3: so we can hook you up.
- 10:27Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Are you ready for real or fake news?
- 10:29Speaker 5: Yes.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Let's do it.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I'm going to give you three headlines. You're going to
- 10:31Speaker 4: tell me which one is the fake one out of
- 10:33Speaker 4: the three. I know it's early on a Monday, but
- 10:36Speaker 4: we'll get your brain working.
- 10:36Speaker 3: That's what this does.
- 10:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:38Speaker 3: That's why I run this drill.
- 10:39Speaker 5: Oh, that's why we do this every day?
- 10:41Speaker 3: You didn't know?
- 10:41Speaker 5: I thought it was fun.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Oh, no, it is fun. It's also like a little
- 10:44Speaker 1: thing that gets your brain moving.
- 10:46Speaker 5: Like a crossword puzzle.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Only less complicated, and we're not 90.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 10:52Speaker 3: There you go. Headline number one. You ready? Headline one is,
- 10:55Speaker 3: man living in Baltimore sewer arrested for harassing women.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Okay.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Man living in Baltimore sewer arrested for harassing women. Headline
- 11:06Speaker 3: number one. Headline number two.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Woman breaks up with man after discovering he'd been secretly
- 11:12Speaker 4: wearing her underwear.
- 11:15Speaker 3: To see how it felt. Okay.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Woman breaks up with man after discovering he'd been secretly
- 11:21Speaker 4: wearing her underwear to see how it felt.
- 11:25Speaker 3: I mean curiosity. Okay. Headline number three. A man who
- 11:30Speaker 3: swallowed a $ 700, 000 pair of earrings after stealing them found guilty.
- 11:36Speaker 3: A man who swallowed a $ 700, 000 pair of earrings after
- 11:41Speaker 3: stealing them found guilty.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Which story is fake? There's three headlines right there. Kind
- 11:49Speaker 4: of tough today?
- 11:49Speaker 5: Yeah, it is really tough, actually.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah, super hard.
- 11:52Speaker 7: All right.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Well, Candace, you want to go first or... Are you
- 11:54Speaker 4: just too hot and exhausted you'd like to pass to poo?
- 11:57Speaker 5: I actually am too hot that I'm going to go first.
- 11:58Speaker 5: I just want to get it over with. Lock me
- 12:00Speaker 5: in for that second story, the underwear story.
- 12:02Speaker 3: You don't think that's real?
- 12:03Speaker 6: No.
- 12:04Speaker 3: You've never caught Eric wearing your undies?
- 12:05Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Lock it in. You know the answer to that.
- 12:10Speaker 6: Okay.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Let's go ahead.
- 12:11Speaker 6: What?
- 12:12Speaker 3: Lock it in.
- 12:13Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Lock it in.
- 12:14Speaker 4: You are officially locked in. Let's go over to Producer Poo.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Which one do you think is the fake story out
- 12:19Speaker 4: of the three?
- 12:20Speaker 1: Lock me in for that first story.
- 12:21Speaker 3: What is he? A ninja turtle? Maybe. Living in a sewer?
- 12:25Speaker 3: Maybe he is.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Lock me in.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Donatello.
- 12:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Oh, I liked Raphael.
- 12:30Speaker 3: That was my favorite, too. Yeah. Or Leonardo. Yeah. All right.
- 12:33Speaker 6: Wow.
- 12:34Speaker 1: We nailed that.
- 12:34Speaker 3: We can still remember those names, but I can't remember
- 12:36Speaker 3: anything else in life.
- 12:37Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 12:38Speaker 3: All right.
- 12:38Speaker 1: You are locked in, and the winner today is Candace.
- 12:40Speaker 6: Hey!
- 12:53Speaker 5: All right, there you go, Candace.
- 12:53Speaker 3: You are correct.
- 12:54Speaker 4: The fake story was a woman breaks up with a
- 12:56Speaker 4: man after discovering he'd been wearing her underwear.
- 12:59Speaker 3: To see how it felt. So silly. I made that
- 13:02Speaker 3: story up. That's not silly.
- 13:03Speaker 5: That is silly.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Who's wore a thong before?
- 13:07Speaker 1: But they were women's.
- 13:09Speaker 3: I love that that was his argument.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Wait a minute.
- 13:16Speaker 3: They were not a woman's thong.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Those were edible and for a man.
- 13:21Speaker 6: Okay.
- 13:22Speaker 3: How dare you?
- 13:25Speaker 1: How dare you run my name through the mud? He did.
- 13:28Speaker 1: He did, Candace.
- 13:29Speaker 5: I know.
- 13:30Speaker 3: What do you mean you know?
- 13:30Speaker 5: Well, he did it at work.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Oh, that's right.
- 13:32Speaker 5: For somebody's birthday prank.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Billy's birthday. Remember?
- 13:36Speaker 5: Oh, it was Billy's birthday?
- 13:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I walked in. Why was it mine? That's not
- 13:39Speaker 3: a treat for me.
- 13:40Speaker 6: I know.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I know. I walked in and I said, I got
- 13:43Speaker 1: you a stripper, me, and then I was playing around.
- 13:45Speaker 3: That was awful.
- 13:45Speaker 5: That's right.
- 13:46Speaker 1: If you want to wear them, just wear them.
- 13:48Speaker 3: We don't care. Wear whatever you want. He just wants
- 13:50Speaker 3: to find an excuse. I did it for Billy. Didn't
- 13:54Speaker 3: do it for me.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Took one for the team.
- 13:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I took one for the team again. Every Friday I
- 13:59Speaker 3: like doing this. Thong Thursdays. All right. Man who swallowed
- 14:04Speaker 3: $ 769, 000 pair of Tiffany earrings found guilty. OK, so I
- 14:11Speaker 3: don't even remember this happening.
- 14:12Speaker 4: His name is Jathan Glider. He was found guilty. I
- 14:15Speaker 4: guess here's what happened. He went to Tiffany and he
- 14:17Speaker 4: was like, I like these earrings. He was pretending to
- 14:19Speaker 4: be a professional athlete. He wanted to see him because
- 14:22Speaker 4: usually they won't even take him out of the safe.
- 14:23Speaker 4: It's for just anybody because it's almost a million dollar
- 14:25Speaker 4: pair of earrings. So they take him out. He immediately
- 14:29Speaker 4: just runs, just takes off, squeals out.
- 14:33Speaker 3: He's out. Police start chasing him.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Troopers found him later on and discovered that he swallowed
- 14:41Speaker 4: the earrings.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:43Speaker 3: Well, I don't know if you know this, but what
- 14:45Speaker 3: goes in must come out.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Did they wait for it?
- 14:49Speaker 1: No, no.
- 14:49Speaker 3: They take this guy to the hospital. And they're like,
- 14:53Speaker 3: all right, you're going to stay here until we figure
- 14:56Speaker 3: this out. And he's like, are you serious? And they're like, yep.
- 15:00Speaker 3: And he's like, it's better than jail.
- 15:02Speaker 4: So he stays there, and needless to say, there was
- 15:05Speaker 4: a representative from Tiffany that came over to repossess.
- 15:09Speaker 6: Stop.
- 15:09Speaker 5: To verify that that's what they were?
- 15:11Speaker 1: They repossessed him?
- 15:12Speaker 5: No. How much of a discount do you have to
- 15:15Speaker 5: get on those if you want to buy them?
- 15:17Speaker 3: No discount.
- 15:17Speaker 5: No?
- 15:18Speaker 3: No doo-doo discount.
- 15:20Speaker 1: They don't even have a disclaimer, like a doo-doo disclaimer?
- 15:23Speaker 3: You might be buying these. You wouldn't even know.
- 15:26Speaker 6: Ew.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I think they're one-of-a-kind, actually.
- 15:28Speaker 5: They're in a very rich woman's ears right now.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Rich people want one-of-a-kind exclusive items. And this is one-of-a-kind.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Or rich man, yeah.
- 15:35Speaker 3: They've been in Jathan.
- 15:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 3: So, either way.
- 15:39Speaker 7: Wow.
- 15:40Speaker 3: I don't know if they sold them, but they did
- 15:41Speaker 3: verify that they were the correct ones. Right. And he
- 15:44Speaker 3: was found guilty. So now he's got to go into
- 15:46Speaker 3: jail because he swallowed almost a million dollars. Congratulations, Jathan.
- 15:50Speaker 3: You're an idiot. All right. Man living in Baltimore sewer
- 15:52Speaker 3: arrested for harassing women.
- 15:54Speaker 6: Ugh.
- 15:55Speaker 5: Can't go anywhere.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Can't go anywhere.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Yeah. Now I can't even walk by the sewer.
- 15:58Speaker 5: Right.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Now a woman can't even walk by the sewer without
- 16:01Speaker 4: getting harassed by some sewer trash.
- 16:03Speaker 5: No, can't do it.
- 16:04Speaker 4: A Baltimore County mother says a man living in a
- 16:06Speaker 4: sewer near her home was repeatedly bothered and bothering her
- 16:09Speaker 4: children and chased them down the street.
- 16:12Speaker 3: You ready for her name?
- 16:14Speaker 7: Sure.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Unique Wiggins.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Jason and Unique.
- 16:19Speaker 1: I know she black.
- 16:20Speaker 3: You don't know that. Yes, she is. I know a
- 16:23Speaker 3: white Unique. No, you don't.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yes, I do. Only us come up with names like that. Yeah,
- 16:30Speaker 1: I'll name her Unique. Unique Wiggins.
- 16:33Speaker 5: That's cute.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Initially doubted the story. She was like, this is not happening.
- 16:37Speaker 4: She changed her mind when she approached the manhole herself.
- 16:40Speaker 6: Oh.
- 16:40Speaker 3: And this guy popped out.
- 16:42Speaker 5: There was a man in there.
- 16:43Speaker 3: What are you doing?
- 16:45Speaker 4: She says her 21-year-old daughter also called her in fear
- 16:48Speaker 4: because the man told her not to walk nearby his home, which.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Was a manhole. Police arrested the man and released him.
- 16:55Speaker 4: Court orders have also been sought to stop contact with
- 16:57Speaker 4: the family, but Unique believes he also got under her
- 17:01Speaker 4: property somehow.
- 17:02Speaker 3: This guy's a problem.
- 17:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:04Speaker 4: And usually, I don't have to tell people that, you know,
- 17:06Speaker 4: if there's someone living in a sewer, they're probably a problem.
- 17:10Speaker 5: Right.
- 17:10Speaker 4: And police were like, hey, not only are we going
- 17:13Speaker 4: to try to stop this guy, we're going to try
- 17:15Speaker 4: to give him some help.
- 17:16Speaker 6: Good.
- 17:16Speaker 3: And he said, I don't need your help. I'm perfectly
- 17:18Speaker 3: happy in this sewer.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Okay.
- 17:20Speaker 3: And he stayed in the sewer.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Wow.
- 17:22Speaker 3: So, yeah, but he has a restraining order.
- 17:25Speaker 5: For sure.
- 17:26Speaker 3: But obviously a man who's living in a sewer is
- 17:28Speaker 3: going to listen to that.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:30Speaker 3: So there you go. Is that not a weird story?
- 17:32Speaker 5: That is so weird.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Like, how do you just say you can't live in
- 17:35Speaker 3: the sewer? Right.
- 17:36Speaker 5: That's why they call it a manhole.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Yeah. Candace, there you go.
- 17:40Speaker 6: Wow.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Never knew that.
- 17:40Speaker 4: So if you work downtown Dallas today, just be careful
- 17:44Speaker 4: if you're walking over manholes because.
- 17:46Speaker 3: I don't know this guy. I don't know his name, though.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I want to know his name. I'd love to interview him.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Can we get him on the phone?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 3: He has a phone. I got a whole damn set up.
- 17:54Speaker 3: I probably got AC.
- 17:57Speaker 4: It is Mix 102.9. Good morning. Bailey the Kid, Candice Lopez,
- 18:01Speaker 4: Producer Poo is here. I totally forgot to say hi
- 18:03Speaker 4: to somebody. I was supposed to do it at 630.
- 18:04Speaker 4: I messed up.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Oh, that's okay.
- 18:06Speaker 3: I messed up.
- 18:06Speaker 4: I got to say hi to Elena and Samaya at
- 18:09Speaker 4: the Mansfield 7 Brew. They are so sweet. We met
- 18:14Speaker 4: them Saturday at TCU. We were in Frog Alley. They
- 18:16Speaker 4: were giving stuff away. They're awesome, by the way.
- 18:18Speaker 5: They are.
- 18:19Speaker 4: The 7 Brew should be so happy to have them
- 18:21Speaker 4: represent the company.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Right.
- 18:23Speaker 4: They were just giving away free stuff, just in a
- 18:24Speaker 4: good mood. And we're just not happy. And we're just grumpy.
- 18:27Speaker 3: And they were just first thing in the morning. So excited.
- 18:30Speaker 1: And I just, I need some of that energy.
- 18:32Speaker 5: So customer service is kind of whack at a few places,
- 18:34Speaker 5: not with those girls. Cause they know what's up.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Elena and Samaya.
- 18:38Speaker 4: If you don't know him, when you stop by the
- 18:41Speaker 4: Mansfield seven brew today, say, Hey, we heard him talking
- 18:43Speaker 4: about you.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Cause they might've missed it.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:45Speaker 3: And seven brew, give him a raise for sure.
- 18:47Speaker 1: For real.
- 18:48Speaker 4: And you know, wait, is he really on the phone?
- 18:49Speaker 4: There's no way this guy. We were just talking about
- 18:52Speaker 4: this story, right? About the guy living in the sewer
- 18:54Speaker 4: harassing women.
- 18:54Speaker 6: Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Unique, the girl Unique, had a problem with him?
- 18:57Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 18:58Speaker 3: He's on the phone?
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yeah. Hold on.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Hello?
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yeah, y'all there?
- 19:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I heard you. Actually, I listen to you guys. I
- 19:06Speaker 3: listen on iHeartRadio. I got the app down here and everything.
- 19:09Speaker 5: Oh, no kidding.
- 19:10Speaker 3: God, it's so chilly in here. Hold on. I'm going
- 19:11Speaker 3: to have somebody.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Can you turn up the AC a little bit?
- 19:14Speaker 5: Hold on.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Wait, you have AC in a manhole?
- 19:17Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah. No, hold on. Oh, there she is.
- 19:19Speaker 3: She's walking by right now.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Unique, get the hell out of my manhole!
- 19:22Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Man can't have any peace down here is everything okay yeah.
- 19:29Speaker 1: This place is actually cleaner than who's apartment oh no
- 19:34Speaker 1: oh i gotta go my pizza's here you ordered a
- 19:36Speaker 1: pizza in the sewer.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Wow pretty amazing that was a crystal clear connection too
- 19:45Speaker 3: and he's got ac show off huh sounded familiar too
- 19:48Speaker 3: Must be nice. You want the seven rules that you
- 19:51Speaker 3: should follow for Halloween coming up?
- 19:52Speaker 2: Sure.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Because I love a list.
- 19:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:54Speaker 1: And I can't believe Halloween is Saturday.
- 19:56Speaker 6: I know.
- 19:57Speaker 4: So seven rules that they think apparently this list is
- 20:00Speaker 4: going around that people should follow for Halloween.
- 20:03Speaker 1: All right.
- 20:04Speaker 6: Number one.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Don't guess what someone else's costume is unless you know
- 20:08Speaker 3: what it is. Oh. Yeah.
- 20:10Speaker 5: Yeah, that's always awkward.
- 20:12Speaker 3: But also, can I make up another rule on the spot?
- 20:14Speaker 3: Don't wear something that we have to guess what it is.
- 20:17Speaker 5: It's like telling the joke.
- 20:18Speaker 6: Right.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Yeah. If I have to explain the punchline, it's probably
- 20:21Speaker 3: not funny. Right. So just be something that everybody knows.
- 20:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 3: If you're something obscure and I have to ask you,
- 20:28Speaker 3: then I'm annoyed.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:29Speaker 1: For sure.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Yeah. Number two. Don't bring bloody decorations into the office. Oh. God,
- 20:36Speaker 3: no fun zone. They say if you.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Decorate your desk, keep it fairly PG.
- 20:41Speaker 2: All right.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Is this Candace Lopez rules?
- 20:43Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 20:43Speaker 1: It sounds like it.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Number three.
- 20:46Speaker 5: Works different.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Don't wear an offensive costume. Okay.
- 20:51Speaker 6: All right.
- 20:51Speaker 3: I mean, that's fair.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:53Speaker 3: But also, too, this is rule number four.
- 20:56Speaker 4: They say if you do wear a costume that could
- 20:58Speaker 4: be offensive, don't forget it's going to live forever on
- 21:00Speaker 4: the internet.
- 21:01Speaker 5: That's a good point.
- 21:02Speaker 4: That's a very good point. I mean, don't do it.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Halloween's supposed to be fun.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Don't wear an offensive costume. What's wrong with you?
- 21:09Speaker 3: Number five.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Teach your kids to be polite trick-or-treaters.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Please do this one.
- 21:14Speaker 5: We always see the videos going around on Halloween. Say
- 21:17Speaker 5: thank you, say thank you. Say thank you.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you're on the sidewalk with your Yeti filled with vodka. Yeah, exactly.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Did he say thank you? He did? Okay, I'm just
- 21:25Speaker 1: making sure.
- 21:26Speaker 3: You too, thank you. Did you say thank you? Yes, Mom,
- 21:29Speaker 3: I did. Okay.
- 21:30Speaker 5: Right.
- 21:30Speaker 3: I'm 16. Let me trick-or-treat you.
- 21:33Speaker 1: No, no.
- 21:35Speaker 3: No, but I'll tell you what. I did have a
- 21:37Speaker 3: little game that I played last year with trick-or-treaters. You did?
- 21:40Speaker 3: I think it was last year when I gave out candy.
- 21:42Speaker 3: One of those years. I gave out full candy bars.
- 21:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:46Speaker 3: If you're dressed up. If you're one of these teenagers
- 21:48Speaker 3: that show up like, I'm Mike from down the street.
- 21:52Speaker 3: You're getting a can of beans.
- 21:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:54Speaker 3: I gave out beans.
- 21:55Speaker 5: Good for you.
- 21:56Speaker 3: And ramen, but they ended up loving the ramen.
- 21:58Speaker 5: Yeah, they're coming back. Yeah, so now- Yeah, they're going
- 22:00Speaker 5: to go around the block, change costumes, and come back.
- 22:02Speaker 1: If you don't use your manager, you're getting beans.
- 22:04Speaker 6: Right.
- 22:04Speaker 1: At my house. Nobody wants beans.
- 22:06Speaker 5: Pass the test, guys.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Pass it. Candace is like, I'll be there. Yes, you will.
- 22:10Speaker 3: She loves them.
- 22:11Speaker 5: A very fiber Halloween.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Love some beans. Fiber maxing.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Number six, if you do choose to offer allergy-safe treats
- 22:18Speaker 4: or non-food options, you can use a teal-colored pumpkin.
- 22:21Speaker 6: Okay.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I never knew that, though.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Did you know that?
- 22:24Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 22:24Speaker 4: That if you see a teal pumpkin on the porch,
- 22:26Speaker 4: that means they have allergy-safe treats?
- 22:28Speaker 5: Oh, okay. I thought that was for people that needed
- 22:31Speaker 5: the allergy-free.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Okay, got it.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Well, I don't know.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Good to know.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Just letting you know. That's awesome. And then seven, be
- 22:37Speaker 3: classy with outdoor decorations. Don't make your house too scary.
- 22:40Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. I hate that rule.
- 22:44Speaker 3: I'm not following that rule.
- 22:46Speaker 1: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 22:49Speaker 1: Kid in the Morning.
- 22:50Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Sean Paul, man. You know, he says so many great things.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Words to live by.
- 22:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Green banana.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Green Banana?
- 23:00Speaker 3: That's what he says in the song.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Listen, I love that song, though. Candice Lopez, it's Monday.
- 23:04Speaker 4: We have no AC in this mixed studio, but it's
- 23:06Speaker 4: okay because we're thriving.
- 23:08Speaker 3: What is going on?
- 23:08Speaker 5: Yeah, well, outside we have clouds. A high of 80 today.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Low chance for rain overnight at 63 outside right now. Yeah,
- 23:15Speaker 5: 83 inside our studio. Guys, the Granada Theater on Greenville
- 23:19Speaker 5: Avenue has officially been sold. The venue will host events
- 23:23Speaker 5: through April of next year. I know. The restaurant's going
- 23:27Speaker 5: to close November 1st, though. Sundown at the Granada.
- 23:30Speaker 3: That makes me sad. I feel like, and I said
- 23:32Speaker 3: this online, I feel like at this point, that should
- 23:34Speaker 3: be an untouchable historical landmark.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Why are we allowed to mess with it? And what
- 23:40Speaker 4: is going on with it? What are they doing to it?
- 23:41Speaker 5: Yeah, well, the theater, you know, opened in 1946. It's
- 23:43Speaker 5: going to turn into a bathhouse called Bath House. So
- 23:50Speaker 5: you hate baths, right? Or is it Pooh that hates baths?
- 23:53Speaker 3: Pooh hates baths.
- 23:54Speaker 5: I don't like baths.
- 23:55Speaker 3: I just don't like bad houses. It sounds dirty.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's odd.
- 23:59Speaker 5: It's going to offer spa services, saunas, massages. So they
- 24:03Speaker 5: have three other locations in New York, Philadelphia. They're working
- 24:06Speaker 5: on locations in Chicago and New Jersey. But listen to this.
- 24:10Speaker 5: The company that bought the Granada uses Bitcoin mining to
- 24:14Speaker 5: heat the pools in its other locations. They haven't said
- 24:18Speaker 5: whether the Dallas location will include that. But yeah, that's
- 24:21Speaker 5: how they heat the water for these, you know, bath houses.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Is this real life?
- 24:26Speaker 6: Yes.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Is this real or fake news?
- 24:27Speaker 5: No, this is real.
- 24:28Speaker 3: So they're going to keep that.
- 24:29Speaker 5: I confirmed it on their website.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Somebody told me they're going to keep the outside, the
- 24:32Speaker 1: front of it.
- 24:33Speaker 2: They should.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Like it's the Granada.
- 24:35Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:36Speaker 3: You know, at one point, the Granada Theater. showed adult
- 24:39Speaker 3: movies right back in the day back in the day
- 24:41Speaker 3: poo was.
- 24:41Speaker 1: There no wasn't that.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Weird yeah it's all it's kind of weird yeah bathhouse
- 24:46Speaker 5: is also weird i was in hot springs arkansas uh
- 24:49Speaker 5: over the summer and there's just bathhouses everywhere it's such
- 24:52Speaker 5: an interesting thing.
- 24:54Speaker 4: Yeah there's some off royal lane too and harry hines
- 24:57Speaker 4: as well i don't know if they're the same.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Bathhouses i don't think so.
- 25:00Speaker 1: They're not they're not no those are kind of different
- 25:03Speaker 1: oh Yeah.
- 25:04Speaker 5: The Bitcoin connection, though, is interesting.
- 25:07Speaker 1: That's weird.
- 25:07Speaker 4: So we're going to do the Bitcoin mining, and it
- 25:10Speaker 4: takes a lot of computers to do that.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Right. So the heat source of the pool is going
- 25:15Speaker 3: to be the computers?
- 25:16Speaker 5: Yeah, the electricity they use for the computing power converts
- 25:20Speaker 5: into heat as a byproduct, and that's captured and, yeah,
- 25:24Speaker 5: heats up the baths.
- 25:25Speaker 1: 2026 is weird.
- 25:26Speaker 5: Really, it really is.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Why can't we just do it the old-fashioned way? I
- 25:29Speaker 3: don't know if I want to soak in hot computer water.
- 25:31Speaker 3: I don't either.
- 25:33Speaker 2: You don't. You don't.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Speaking of computers, guys, Apple's first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo,
- 25:40Speaker 5: was officially released Friday. It sold out almost instantly. Back
- 25:44Speaker 5: orders have already been pushed into late January. That phone,
- 25:48Speaker 5: you know, it's priced at $ 2, 000 to $ 3, 000, but some
- 25:51Speaker 5: of these on eBay, like the 2-terabyte version, are selling
- 25:53Speaker 5: for like $ 15, 000.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Well, I would hold up on that. Did you see
- 25:56Speaker 3: what was going on with them?
- 25:57Speaker 6: What?
- 25:58Speaker 3: Oh, you didn't see this? No.
- 26:00Speaker 6: Oh.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Everybody's claiming that.
- 26:02Speaker 4: And there's videos online that they're pixelated and all messed
- 26:06Speaker 4: up within.
- 26:07Speaker 3: No! The same day.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:09Speaker 3: So, like, this guy left the Apple store and he
- 26:12Speaker 3: was all excited. He's like, yeah, I got the Duo, whatever.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Look at it flip. It's so awesome. And then he
- 26:15Speaker 3: reopened it.
- 26:16Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:16Speaker 3: And there was a big, like, digital, like, glitch across
- 26:19Speaker 3: the screen.
- 26:19Speaker 1: No!
- 26:20Speaker 3: I've seen four or five of those videos.
- 26:23Speaker 4: So I wouldn't be shocked if this Duo, Flip, Apple,
- 26:26Speaker 4: whatever iPhone gets recalled because... so many people that I
- 26:30Speaker 4: see online are having issues with it because it does
- 26:32Speaker 4: sound cool.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Yeah. Like it'd be awesome to have a foldable phone.
- 26:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:36Speaker 4: And then you see this and I'm like, well, what
- 26:39Speaker 4: if I sit on it? Cause I accidentally sit on
- 26:40Speaker 4: my phone sometimes and this phone, I don't know what
- 26:42Speaker 4: this is, but it's the iPhone.
- 26:45Speaker 1: 15, 16, one of those.
- 26:47Speaker 5: It's pretty durable.
- 26:49Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:49Speaker 4: So, I mean, I know, I don't feel like I'm
- 26:51Speaker 4: going to break it if I accidentally sit on it.
- 26:53Speaker 6: Right.
- 26:53Speaker 5: For sure.
- 26:54Speaker 3: And I'm not small, Candace.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 26:58Speaker 5: Real quick, guys. Rumor has it Jay-Z is calling in
- 27:01Speaker 5: every favor to make his Super Bowl halftime show perfect.
- 27:04Speaker 5: So I'm hearing he's going to bring in Beyonce, you know, Rihanna,
- 27:08Speaker 5: Alicia Keys, Usher, maybe even Nas. Super Bowl, of course,
- 27:12Speaker 5: happens on Valentine's Day. But yeah, we'll see. Rumors are
- 27:15Speaker 5: flying about that show.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Well, that would be great. Honestly, I mean, how could
- 27:18Speaker 3: she not do it? It's his wife.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 27:21Speaker 3: It's also Beyonce.
- 27:22Speaker 6: Right.
- 27:23Speaker 1: So she might go, you know, I don't know. I
- 27:24Speaker 1: don't like your stage production.
- 27:26Speaker 5: I don't work for free.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Do you have enough hits?
- 27:29Speaker 5: Do you have enough hits?
- 27:30Speaker 3: Are you sure you got enough hits?
- 27:31Speaker 5: Yeah, 30 years of hits good.
- 27:32Speaker 3: I got 40 Grammys or whatever I have. I think
- 27:35Speaker 3: she has the most Grammys out of anyone ever.
- 27:37Speaker 5: That's right.
- 27:38Speaker 3: She's going to be like, just get on my level.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Talk to my people.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll keep you posted, though. I'm Candace Lopez. Those
- 27:44Speaker 5: are your Texas Top Stories.
- 27:45Speaker 6: The new Mix 102.9. Get it off your chest.
- 27:51Speaker 5: We promise you'll feel better.
- 27:52Speaker 7: Welcome to Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in
- 27:55Speaker 7: the morning.
- 27:55Speaker 6: The new mix, 102.9.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Are you ready for it?
- 27:59Speaker 1: It's Billy the Kid.
- 27:59Speaker 4: Candace Lopez is here. Producer Pooh is here. Dirty Little Secret.
- 28:02Speaker 4: And don't forget, at 8.30, we're doing our Terror Tour.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Yay.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Our Texas Terror Tour.
- 28:08Speaker 4: We're going to talk about haunted places here. Around DFW,
- 28:11Speaker 4: today I'm talking about a spot in Garland I can't
- 28:13Speaker 4: wait for. And I'm going to give you the top
- 28:14Speaker 4: ten most haunted cities in DFW as well.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Oh, nice.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Then right after, Cutting Edge Pass is a four-pack, so
- 28:19Speaker 4: giving you something to look forward to on a Monday,
- 28:21Speaker 4: because Mondays suck.
- 28:22Speaker 5: I like it.
- 28:23Speaker 3: If you have a secret, 833-787-1029.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Let us know any time, doesn't matter what the secret is,
- 28:26Speaker 4: and you have a big one.
- 28:31Speaker 7: It is a big secret. And I did tell my mom,
- 28:35Speaker 7: but I honestly don't think that I will ever tell
- 28:39Speaker 7: anyone else ever again. But long story short, so almost
- 28:43Speaker 7: nine years.
- 28:44Speaker 5: Ago, I actually gave birth to a little.
- 28:47Speaker 7: Girl and I did make a very hard decision to.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Give her up for adoption.
- 28:55Speaker 7: And, uh, yeah, it's a, it's a really long story, but, um, yeah,
- 29:00Speaker 7: it was, it was, it was a very difficult decision
- 29:03Speaker 7: and I, and I don't really want to get into that, but, um,
- 29:06Speaker 7: it was an anonymous adoption actually. So it was arranged
- 29:09Speaker 7: through someone that I trusted and I never met the
- 29:11Speaker 7: parents and, um, that was how I wanted to do it.
- 29:14Speaker 2: You know, I, I, that was how I wanted to
- 29:15Speaker 2: do it.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:16Speaker 7: So, um, I, over the years, I have spent years
- 29:20Speaker 7: in therapy, uh, you know, dealing with it. And, and
- 29:24Speaker 7: some days I feel like I did the right thing
- 29:26Speaker 7: and other days, you know, it's, it, I regret it
- 29:29Speaker 7: almost like unbearably. So, um, yeah, I, but it, I
- 29:34Speaker 7: made my decision and I've lived with it and that's that,
- 29:37Speaker 7: but so here's where things get crazy. Um, so I,
- 29:40Speaker 7: worked as a nanny for several years and about six
- 29:45Speaker 7: months ago, someone that I knew had recommended this family
- 29:49Speaker 7: to me that they were looking for help with their
- 29:52Speaker 7: kids and they have a son and a daughter. And
- 29:54Speaker 7: I'm sure where you can see where this is going,
- 29:56Speaker 7: but I swear to you, this, second that i saw
- 29:59Speaker 7: the little girl i just almost fell to my knees
- 30:03Speaker 7: i i i can't explain how but i just.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Yeah yeah i'm.
- 30:11Speaker 7: Like yes i know what she looked so much like
- 30:16Speaker 7: me when i was little and i don't know there
- 30:19Speaker 7: was a feeling that i just cannot even put into
- 30:22Speaker 7: words that something inside of me recognized her And.
- 30:28Speaker 3: It was for sure. This is for sure your biological daughter.
- 30:33Speaker 7: Well, so then I started, you know, trying to put
- 30:36Speaker 7: the pieces together. Right. So I found out her age
- 30:39Speaker 7: and she was eight and just about to turn nine,
- 30:42Speaker 7: which meant that the dates completely matched up. And eventually
- 30:46Speaker 7: through conversations with her parents, I did find out that
- 30:50Speaker 7: she was adopted. and um i know i know um
- 30:55Speaker 7: and it's weird it's it's like crazy how the universe
- 30:59Speaker 7: works i mean we don't live in a like some
- 31:02Speaker 7: small tiny town where everybody knows everybody i mean we're
- 31:06Speaker 7: not in like the most the largest city ever either
- 31:08Speaker 7: but what are.
- 31:09Speaker 5: The chances you know what.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Are the chances yeah and i guess.
- 31:16Speaker 7: My actual secret, my actual secret is, so I've been
- 31:21Speaker 7: taking care of my own biological daughter for six months
- 31:26Speaker 7: and her parents have absolutely no idea.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Oh, so you didn't actually, so I, I, I thought
- 31:33Speaker 3: this could go one of two ways. Like you said, okay,
- 31:35Speaker 3: I can't do this because here's why, but you didn't
- 31:39Speaker 3: say anything and you, you've never mentioned it to them
- 31:41Speaker 3: once or anybody. Right.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Well, no.
- 31:45Speaker 5: Well, I told my mom.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 31:46Speaker 7: And my mom at first thought I was absolutely crazy.
- 31:48Speaker 7: But then the more info that we got, you know,
- 31:52Speaker 7: the more she believes that it could be possible. And
- 31:56Speaker 7: I did almost tell the family in the beginning. And
- 31:59Speaker 7: I actually was almost going to quit because I just
- 32:02Speaker 7: didn't think that I could, you know, emotionally handle it.
- 32:05Speaker 7: But I just kept showing up.
- 32:07Speaker 5: And now... I can't imagine not seeing her.
- 32:11Speaker 7: I mean, part of me feels like this is like
- 32:13Speaker 7: God's way of bringing us back together. And I don't know,
- 32:17Speaker 7: she has an amazing life. Her parents are wonderful people.
- 32:20Speaker 7: And I can, I'm so grateful for everything that they've
- 32:23Speaker 7: given her. But I would be lying if I said
- 32:26Speaker 7: that I wasn't jealous sometimes, you know, like watching another
- 32:29Speaker 7: woman be her mother and hearing her call someone else
- 32:33Speaker 7: mommy and it hurts like more than I can explain.
- 32:37Speaker 5: Um, and yeah, yeah.
- 32:40Speaker 7: So the light and things that, I mean, sometimes I
- 32:42Speaker 7: look at the two of us, I'm like, how do
- 32:43Speaker 7: other people not see that? We look so, so we
- 32:48Speaker 7: look so much alike.
- 32:49Speaker 5: How, how are people not seeing this? And I don't know. I,
- 32:52Speaker 5: I don't, I, I.
- 32:53Speaker 7: Feel like your listeners or people would say that I
- 32:57Speaker 7: need to tell her parents, but just so they know
- 33:01Speaker 7: where I'm coming from, I'm terrified that the second I
- 33:04Speaker 7: do that, that they would fire me and I would
- 33:05Speaker 7: never see her again.
- 33:06Speaker 5: And I don't know if I'm around long enough.
- 33:09Speaker 7: Maybe things would be different, and maybe someday I would
- 33:12Speaker 7: tell them. But right now, you know, I don't plan
- 33:14Speaker 7: on saying anything.
- 33:15Speaker 3: You don't.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Maybe it's selfish.
- 33:17Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe it's selfish.
- 33:18Speaker 7: But for the first time in, like, nine years, you know,
- 33:21Speaker 7: I get to be a part of my daughter's life,
- 33:23Speaker 7: even if she has absolutely no idea who I really am.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Literally gave me the chills.
- 33:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:28Speaker 3: I mean, because this is.
- 33:30Speaker 4: I'm trying to think how I would react as a
- 33:32Speaker 4: parent if I was in the situation in their shoes, because.
- 33:35Speaker 3: I don't know if I'd be comfortable with it.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Right.
- 33:38Speaker 3: And it's not to say anything bad about you or
- 33:41Speaker 3: the decision you made by any means. That's your choice,
- 33:44Speaker 3: your decision. there's so many, what ifs, what if, you know,
- 33:48Speaker 3: you get too emotionally tied and you can't let go
- 33:50Speaker 3: and you start to blur the lines. There's so many things.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Candace is a mom.
- 33:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:55Speaker 5: I'd be afraid that you guys would connect in a
- 33:57Speaker 5: way that would make her feel uncomfortable or question it,
- 34:00Speaker 5: or God forbid you said something. And then you, you know,
- 34:03Speaker 5: we couldn't have, we didn't have any words to say
- 34:05Speaker 5: about it at the time.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Right. But I mean, I'm in putting myself in your shoes.
- 34:10Speaker 3: I can't imagine walking into a room and you, you
- 34:13Speaker 3: felt that connection instantly. You just knew.
- 34:15Speaker 7: Absolutely with really honestly in that second without a shadow.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Of a doubt that is it that is such a
- 34:21Speaker 3: powerful coincidence yeah the positive part is at least she
- 34:25Speaker 3: has an amazing life yeah you know at least you
- 34:28Speaker 3: yeah you get some kind of um closure if you
- 34:31Speaker 3: needed it or not but at least you see it's
- 34:33Speaker 3: not a situation where you're walking into the parents are
- 34:35Speaker 3: awful and it could be.
- 34:36Speaker 7: Worse yeah and i know it's a gift and it's
- 34:40Speaker 7: also yeah it's.
- 34:41Speaker 4: Crazy Well, keep us up to date. I really appreciate
- 34:45Speaker 4: you sharing that because I know it's pretty emotional. But
- 34:48Speaker 4: please let us know what happens. And good luck with everything.
- 34:50Speaker 2: I will.
- 34:51Speaker 6: I will.
- 34:52Speaker 5: Thanks for letting me chat it out.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Yeah, of course. Hold on.
- 34:56Speaker 7: Oh, my.
- 34:56Speaker 1: What the? What would you if you found this out? Yeah.
- 35:01Speaker 3: And you're the parents who, you know, adopted this young girl.
- 35:05Speaker 5: Right.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Do you let her keep babysitting?
- 35:07Speaker 6: No.
- 35:07Speaker 2: I don't know if I.
- 35:08Speaker 5: Can trust you.
- 35:09Speaker 1: No, she got to go.
- 35:10Speaker 3: I'm like.
- 35:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 35:12Speaker 3: Oh, my. Okay.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Dirty little secret.
- 35:14Speaker 3: There you go. What you think? Let me know.
- 35:18Speaker 6: All right.
- 35:19Speaker 1: It's time for Candace Court. It gets settled here with
- 35:23Speaker 1: Billy the Kid.
- 35:24Speaker 6: In the morning. All right.
- 35:27Speaker 3: I can't.
- 35:28Speaker 5: Oh, Candace. You just have to laugh.
- 35:30Speaker 3: I know.
- 35:31Speaker 5: At the cards we're dealt.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I want to feel like a woman. Candace is like, no,
- 35:34Speaker 1: you don't.
- 35:34Speaker 7: No, you don't.
- 35:35Speaker 5: Not this year.
- 35:36Speaker 2: No, you don't.
- 35:37Speaker 5: Not next year.
- 35:38Speaker 1: She said.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Not with this pelvic floor.
- 35:42Speaker 1: No, you don't. You don't want these issues, Billy.
- 35:46Speaker 5: No.
- 35:46Speaker 4: It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kit. Perimenopause Lopez is here.
- 35:50Speaker 5: That's right.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Panama's perimenopause poos here as well. We're all here. We
- 35:55Speaker 3: have no AC in the studio. It's 83 degrees and.
- 35:58Speaker 4: The temperature's rising. Good news is it's beautiful outside with
- 36:01Speaker 4: an amazing sunrise.
- 36:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 36:02Speaker 5: I feel like I'm on the sun.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Yeah, we might need to break a window to get
- 36:05Speaker 3: some air.
- 36:06Speaker 5: Seriously?
- 36:07Speaker 3: In here. God, it's hot. All right, Candice Court.
- 36:08Speaker 1: I've got hot flashes, though.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Yeah, so do I. Seriously. Welcome. We all have them.
- 36:13Speaker 5: Same girl.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Yeah, same girl. All right. Are you ready, Candace?
- 36:18Speaker 5: Yes.
- 36:19Speaker 4: Now, if you have something for Candace Court at Candace
- 36:22Speaker 4: on air on Instagram, I need you all to settle
- 36:24Speaker 4: an argument between me and my husband because apparently I'm
- 36:26Speaker 4: the bad guy for finally catching my mother-in-law in a lie.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Mother-in-law drama.
- 36:32Speaker 4: So I've been married for almost six years and my
- 36:34Speaker 4: mother-in-law has never liked me. She's one of those women
- 36:37Speaker 4: who's as sweet as pie when her son is around.
- 36:39Speaker 4: But the second he leaves the room, she turns into
- 36:41Speaker 4: a completely different person. She makes little comments about my weight,
- 36:45Speaker 4: my cooking, how I raise my kids, so many mean comments.
- 36:48Speaker 4: And every single time I tell my husband what she says,
- 36:50Speaker 4: he acts like I'm exaggerating.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Well, I finally got sick of it.
- 36:55Speaker 4: So last weekend when she came over, I secretly turned
- 36:58Speaker 4: on the voice recorder on my phone.
- 37:01Speaker 3: And left it recording while we were talking. Well, she
- 37:04Speaker 3: started running her mouth again, all caps. She made a
- 37:08Speaker 3: comment about how I never cook for him anymore and
- 37:12Speaker 3: how the house is always a mess and asked what
- 37:14Speaker 3: I do all day. Like, really, B?
- 37:21Speaker 4: And I got it all on recording. Okay, so I
- 37:24Speaker 4: played it for him when he got home. I thought
- 37:26Speaker 4: he finally would see what I've been dealing with for
- 37:29Speaker 4: all these years. Nope, he lost it on me. Not
- 37:33Speaker 4: his mother, at me. He said I had no right
- 37:36Speaker 4: to secretly record a private conversation between him and his
- 37:39Speaker 4: mom or my, you know, me and his mom. What
- 37:42Speaker 4: I did was sneaky, manipulative and a complete violation of
- 37:46Speaker 4: her privacy.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Are you kidding me?
- 37:50Speaker 4: He still hasn't confronted her about a single thing she
- 37:52Speaker 4: said on the recording. Am I going crazy or is
- 37:57Speaker 4: this not a major problem? Candace Lopez, I mean, wow.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Yeah, it is a major problem. Yeah, it's a violation
- 38:04Speaker 5: of her privacy. But look, this is between you and I.
- 38:07Speaker 5: I'm not sharing this with the Internet or the rest
- 38:10Speaker 5: of the family. I'm sharing it with you, her son,
- 38:12Speaker 5: so that you'll believe what I'm telling you.
- 38:14Speaker 4: I mean, it's sad that you have to record it,
- 38:16Speaker 4: to be honest. First thing I thought is, why would
- 38:18Speaker 4: you have to record anything to prove it? This is
- 38:20Speaker 4: your wife.
- 38:21Speaker 6: Right.
- 38:21Speaker 4: If she's saying something, you should believe her. If you
- 38:25Speaker 4: can't believe her, you shouldn't have married her.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Yeah, 100%.
- 38:28Speaker 1: What are you doing? No, that's my mama. First of all,
- 38:32Speaker 1: you can't be doing that to my mama.
- 38:33Speaker 2: She's being immediate.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Mama was here before you. Mama created me.
- 38:38Speaker 3: See, Pooh has this thing.
- 38:39Speaker 5: Well, she'll be here when I'm gone then.
- 38:41Speaker 1: It's called loyalty.
- 38:42Speaker 3: That's your mama.
- 38:43Speaker 1: I'm loyal to her. When Enzo gets older, he's going
- 38:47Speaker 1: to be loyal to you. You might have an opinion
- 38:49Speaker 1: of his wife.
- 38:50Speaker 5: I'm not going to share that opinion.
- 38:52Speaker 1: If it's not appropriate.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 38:54Speaker 1: But you out here recording devices?
- 38:57Speaker 3: Come on, girl. Like, am I going to go to
- 38:59Speaker 3: the bathroom?
- 39:00Speaker 1: Is there going to be one? Behind the towel rack?
- 39:02Speaker 3: That's silly.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Like, what you doing? You're being silly now.
- 39:04Speaker 5: If this was the first time she just started recording,
- 39:07Speaker 5: you know, the first time she's been talked to this way,
- 39:09Speaker 5: that's different. But it sounds like she's brought this up
- 39:12Speaker 5: to you. You don't believe me. You think I'm exaggerating. Well,
- 39:14Speaker 5: I'm going to show you I'm not exaggerating.
- 39:16Speaker 3: No.
- 39:16Speaker 5: Here it is.
- 39:17Speaker 3: It's sad that she has to do that.
- 39:18Speaker 5: How do you argue with that?
- 39:19Speaker 3: You don't.
- 39:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:20Speaker 4: And you have to be pushed to the point where
- 39:22Speaker 4: you feel like you need evidence in a relationship that
- 39:24Speaker 4: you're married to this man. It's been happening for years
- 39:26Speaker 4: and it's obviously a problem. It doesn't matter what is
- 39:30Speaker 4: going on. If it's a problem with her, it needs
- 39:31Speaker 4: to be addressed. She should address it with the mother-in-law.
- 39:35Speaker 4: And then he should, too. And I know that's not
- 39:36Speaker 4: an easy position to be in as a man. I
- 39:38Speaker 4: know I get it.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Trust me, it's not easy.
- 39:40Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, your wife's your
- 39:42Speaker 1: wife and your mother shouldn't be being rude.
- 39:44Speaker 6: Right.
- 39:44Speaker 5: I don't expect you to bring up the recording and
- 39:46Speaker 5: the conversation with her. I don't expect you to bring
- 39:48Speaker 5: up specifics about that. But let her know that I've
- 39:51Speaker 5: told you that I'm not comfortable with how you talk
- 39:54Speaker 5: to me. And this needs to be addressed.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Keep me out of it. Both of y'all just handle up.
- 39:59Speaker 1: I don't want to hear neither one of y'all.
- 40:01Speaker 5: Well, your mom's trying to respect you.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm in a compromised position. Two of the
- 40:08Speaker 1: most important people in my life. Now I got to
- 40:10Speaker 1: be the mediator. But if you're not trying to hear it,
- 40:12Speaker 1: don't be recording. My mama, first of all, don't do that.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Grow up.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Grow up?
- 40:19Speaker 5: You just don't want to admit that your mom is
- 40:20Speaker 5: a monster-in-law.
- 40:21Speaker 6: Yes.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I mean, my mom's like 70-some-odd years old. Leave mom alone.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Well, she's mean.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Well, it doesn't matter what's going on. So what about
- 40:29Speaker 3: your wife's feelings?
- 40:30Speaker 1: I mean, I understand those, but she— But what? She
- 40:33Speaker 1: don't need to be recording. She needs to talk to
- 40:35Speaker 1: my mom.
- 40:35Speaker 5: What happens when your wife says, I don't want to
- 40:37Speaker 5: be around your mom anymore? Holidays are ruined. Birthdays are ruined.
- 40:40Speaker 3: How's that?
- 40:41Speaker 1: We're going to have to figure it out.
- 40:43Speaker 5: Yeah, your mom's going to have to figure it out.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Yeah, my mom ain't going nowhere.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Your mom? Yeah. Your mom is going to have to
- 40:48Speaker 3: figure it out. Yeah.
- 40:49Speaker 4: By the way, just because you have to talk to
- 40:51Speaker 4: your mom about a certain way that she's talking to
- 40:53Speaker 4: your wife doesn't mean you don't love your mom.
- 40:54Speaker 6: Right.
- 40:55Speaker 3: It just means that there's a problem.
- 40:57Speaker 1: But that mom guilt, I'm just trying.
- 40:59Speaker 3: To be in that position. Just leave. Well, then be single.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Like both of you.
- 41:02Speaker 6: Huh?
- 41:02Speaker 3: Be single. Yeah. I mean, if you don't want to
- 41:06Speaker 3: respect your wife's feelings and just be single and you
- 41:08Speaker 3: won't have to respect.
- 41:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 41:10Speaker 4: You know, if you don't respect what she says, I mean,
- 41:12Speaker 4: imagine if her dad was saying something to you, you'd
- 41:14Speaker 4: handle it with the dad.
- 41:16Speaker 3: I wouldn't involve her. At some point you might.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I'd be like, look, dad-in-law. Let's step outside and handle
- 41:22Speaker 1: it like grown men.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, right, Pooh.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Now you're going to fight. No, I'm not going to fight.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I'm not going to fight my father-in-law.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Step outside.
- 41:29Speaker 1: But I'm going to talk to him in a stern manner.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Catch me outside.
- 41:32Speaker 5: So you're okay with her disrespecting your wife, talking about
- 41:34Speaker 5: her weight, how she raises your children, how she doesn't
- 41:37Speaker 5: cook for you?
- 41:39Speaker 1: Mom's got an opinion.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Hey, ladies, Pooh is single, 833.
- 41:41Speaker 2: She didn't keep it to herself.
- 41:43Speaker 6: 787-1029.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Candace, do we have a verdict?
- 41:47Speaker 5: Yeah, you're guilty of being a voice memo, Vince.
- 41:50Speaker 6: Oh!
- 41:51Speaker 5: You've heard the evidence.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Wow.
- 41:53Speaker 5: You need to tell your mom to cool it.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Wow.
- 41:56Speaker 5: If we don't have anything nice to say, we just
- 41:58Speaker 5: don't say anything, right?
- 41:59Speaker 3: We don't say it.
- 41:59Speaker 4: Don't wait until your son leaves and then start roasting
- 42:03Speaker 4: this poor woman who's trying to put up with you. Otherwise,
- 42:06Speaker 4: if it wasn't for your son, she wouldn't even.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Have to deal with you.
- 42:07Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 42:08Speaker 6: Okay.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Is she or, yeah, everyone's guilty on that side of being.
- 42:12Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure. He's a voice memo Vince.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Voice memo Vince.
- 42:16Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 42:19Speaker 3: Kid in the Morning.
- 42:20Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9. I don't know if.
- 42:23Speaker 4: You know this, Candice, but we have a hidden Harry
- 42:25Speaker 4: Styles ticket on our app, on the iHeartRadio app.
- 42:28Speaker 3: So I would find... Find Mix 1029. Okay, fine. Put
- 42:31Speaker 3: us on your presets, too.
- 42:33Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:33Speaker 3: And get ready because that keyword's coming.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Up, so you'll need all that. You need all that
- 42:37Speaker 1: to get the tickets.
- 42:38Speaker 2: For sure.
- 42:38Speaker 3: All right, Candace, what is going on?
- 42:40Speaker 5: Well, we have above normal temperatures again this week. We
- 42:43Speaker 5: do have low chances of rain overnight tonight. For now,
- 42:45Speaker 5: chances of rain again closer to Halloween will be... Back
- 42:48Speaker 5: in the 70s by the end of the week. It's
- 42:50Speaker 5: 81 today. 81 in the studio. 61 outside-ish.
- 42:54Speaker 1: It's 82 in the studio.
- 42:55Speaker 5: Oh, is it 82? It's 62 outside, too. Okay, we're
- 42:57Speaker 5: just going up with the temperature outside.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Do we have the AC people here yet?
- 43:01Speaker 6: No?
- 43:01Speaker 1: No, I haven't seen them.
- 43:02Speaker 3: Hey, take your time. It's fine.
- 43:04Speaker 1: It's all good.
- 43:04Speaker 5: Yeah, no biggie.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Don't worry about us.
- 43:06Speaker 5: Yeah, we're off the air.
- 43:07Speaker 2: In two hours.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and I got my pants off in the studio.
- 43:09Speaker 1: You do?
- 43:11Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, you can't see over here.
- 43:12Speaker 5: Oh, no, I can't. My computer's blocking you.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Well, it's Halloween. It's a scary time of year. Candace,
- 43:17Speaker 3: what else?
- 43:17Speaker 5: Guys, the 2-4 Cowboys take on the 2-4 Eagles tonight
- 43:21Speaker 5: in Philadelphia for Monday Night Football. We've also got news
- 43:25Speaker 5: that Miranda Lambert will be the halftime performer on Thanksgiving
- 43:28Speaker 5: when they play the Eagles again that day.
- 43:30Speaker 3: I can't believe we have to play the Eagles again.
- 43:32Speaker 5: I know.
- 43:32Speaker 3: And do you have to say 2-4?
- 43:34Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I'm just letting you know that we're 2-4,
- 43:36Speaker 5: they're 2-4, so, hey, it could be a good game.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Well, it is going to be a good game. I'm
- 43:40Speaker 3: feeling good because here's why.
- 43:42Speaker 7: Why?
- 43:42Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm actually trying to figure out. A
- 43:44Speaker 3: lot is at stake. No, a lot's at stake, but
- 43:46Speaker 3: I feel like, you know, they don't have their quarterback. Right.
- 43:50Speaker 4: Jalen Hurts is out. They got some players who are injured.
- 43:53Speaker 4: They're a little bit shaky right now. And it's kind
- 43:56Speaker 4: of do or die for us at this point. Do
- 43:57Speaker 4: you want to go three and two and five?
- 44:00Speaker 5: Right.
- 44:01Speaker 3: I feel like, come on, turn it on. Like show
- 44:03Speaker 3: up tonight.
- 44:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:04Speaker 5: At least we're not playing a team that's four and two.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Right?
- 44:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean, I don't know.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Who knows? It just depends on what Cowboys show up.
- 44:10Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good point. Lots of things going on
- 44:12Speaker 5: in the Cowboys universe, guys. The parent company of the
- 44:15Speaker 5: Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders is taking legal action against the band
- 44:19Speaker 5: My Chemical Romance after they had dancers dressed in costumes
- 44:23Speaker 5: resembling the iconic DCC uniforms. This was last week at
- 44:27Speaker 5: a show at the Hollywood Bowl. The big issue was
- 44:30Speaker 5: more so that these dancers appeared to be carrying rifles
- 44:34Speaker 5: in the performance. And there was choreography they went through
- 44:37Speaker 5: that was kind of like a staged firefight with one
- 44:39Speaker 5: dancer acting like they were struck during the performance. So
- 44:43Speaker 5: DCC is basically saying, just don't wear our uniforms. These
- 44:48Speaker 5: replicas of our uniform. Just stop doing that. It's not appropriate. Online,
- 44:52Speaker 5: it looks real. It looks like they're actual Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Which is unfortunate.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what they're saying. They're saying, we don't want
- 44:59Speaker 3: to have to see you, but we will. Right. We
- 45:01Speaker 3: got Jerry Jones money.
- 45:02Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 45:02Speaker 5: It's going down.
- 45:03Speaker 3: We will sue you.
- 45:04Speaker 6: Right.
- 45:04Speaker 5: My Chemical Romance.
- 45:06Speaker 3: My Chemical Romance. Stop that. What are you doing?
- 45:08Speaker 6: Right.
- 45:08Speaker 5: Why?
- 45:09Speaker 3: Listen, out of all... I'll tell you who's never let
- 45:11Speaker 3: me down. Yeah. The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.
- 45:14Speaker 6: 100%.
- 45:14Speaker 3: So I will fight for them.
- 45:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:15Speaker 5: I think, by the way, they've actually just unionized. So
- 45:18Speaker 5: their pay and all of their benefits are going to
- 45:21Speaker 5: be where they should be soon.
- 45:22Speaker 6: Well, good.
- 45:23Speaker 3: They're iconic. They should get paid.
- 45:24Speaker 5: They're iconic. They're beautiful. The show is fantastic on Netflix.
- 45:28Speaker 5: So shout out to DCC. Guys, the Backstreet Boys were
- 45:32Speaker 5: the surprise performers at Drake's 40th birthday party over the weekend.
- 45:36Speaker 5: He joined them on stage to sing I Want It
- 45:38Speaker 5: That Way. I guess he had around 400 guests there,
- 45:41Speaker 5: and apparently he was giving out prizes, like big money prizes.
- 45:44Speaker 3: I know. I'm so jealous. I must have lost my
- 45:46Speaker 3: invite in the mail, but wow.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Well, you never check your mail, so that's probably why.
- 45:50Speaker 3: It's probably sitting there.
- 45:51Speaker 5: Yeah, people left with luxury handbags. Others won cash prizes
- 45:55Speaker 5: from anywhere $ 10, 000 up to a million dollars at Drake's party.
- 45:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 46:00Speaker 5: Yeah, he was gifted a Ferrari Testarossa.
- 46:03Speaker 3: I'm going to my friend's parties at Topgolf. And I
- 46:06Speaker 3: got to bring a gift.
- 46:08Speaker 6: I know.
- 46:09Speaker 3: Go to Drake's party. You get a gift.
- 46:10Speaker 5: Left a millionaire.
- 46:11Speaker 3: That's the way it should be. If you're going to
- 46:13Speaker 3: rich people's parties.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:15Speaker 3: Why am I going to bring you some if you're rich? Right.
- 46:17Speaker 5: No, that's a good point.
- 46:18Speaker 3: Give me some.
- 46:19Speaker 5: Yeah, good for Drake. Let's get an invite to the
- 46:21Speaker 5: next one, guys.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 46:22Speaker 6: All right.
- 46:23Speaker 5: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I don't know if you're ready for this.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 46:28Speaker 5: It's Billy the Kid in the Morning's Texas Terror Tour
- 46:31Speaker 5: on Mix 102.9.
- 46:32Speaker 6: Enter if you dare.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Oh, was that the scary laugh or was that poo?
- 46:43Speaker 3: Oh, okay. Are you ready for it? So I'm excited.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Candace Lopez, are you ready? Yeah. Poo, you ready?
- 46:48Speaker 6: I'm ready.
- 46:48Speaker 3: All right. Thankfully, well, I don't know if I should
- 46:51Speaker 3: say thankfully.
- 46:51Speaker 4: I was going to say thankfully we live in one
- 46:53Speaker 4: of the most haunted places they say in the United States, Texas,
- 46:55Speaker 4: in general.
- 46:56Speaker 6: Really?
- 46:57Speaker 3: It's very haunted. They say.
- 46:59Speaker 4: I mean, you know, I'm not saying it's the most
- 47:01Speaker 4: haunted place in the world, but we've had a lot
- 47:04Speaker 4: of history and things happen here. Whenever there's a lot
- 47:06Speaker 4: of history, it does matter. Do you want first the
- 47:09Speaker 4: story I have?
- 47:10Speaker 3: I'm going to talk about real haunted places all week
- 47:12Speaker 3: right around this time in DFW.
- 47:14Speaker 6: Okay.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Do you want that first or do you want the
- 47:16Speaker 3: five most haunted places in the Metroplex?
- 47:19Speaker 5: I think I want the five haunted places first.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Okay.
- 47:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 3: You like a good list. Yeah, I do. Then let's
- 47:24Speaker 3: do it.
- 47:24Speaker 4: I'm going to give you the five most haunted places,
- 47:27Speaker 4: and this is according to Paranormal activity and alleged sightings
- 47:33Speaker 4: of ghosts, ghost sightings, 911.
- 47:37Speaker 3: Calls about ghosts. Somebody compiled this list.
- 47:40Speaker 6: Okay.
- 47:41Speaker 4: Number five on the list. Haunted places as well. Number
- 47:45Speaker 4: five on the list. I don't think you'd guess this,
- 47:47Speaker 4: but there's one particular place in this city that makes
- 47:49Speaker 4: it so haunted.
- 47:51Speaker 3: Mineral Wells.
- 47:52Speaker 7: Oh, okay.
- 47:53Speaker 3: Because of the Baker Hotel.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Which we might dive into that at some point this week.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Number four.
- 47:59Speaker 6: Oh.
- 48:00Speaker 3: Because of what? Hell's Gate.
- 48:03Speaker 5: Hell's Gate.
- 48:04Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll have to tell you that story sometime this
- 48:06Speaker 3: week as well. Where is that? Number three. Number three.
- 48:09Speaker 5: Denton. Okay, I can see that.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Halloween capital of Texas. Yeah. And that's because I think
- 48:14Speaker 3: Goatman's Bridge.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Right.
- 48:16Speaker 4: Fort Worth is number two. There's so many haunted things.
- 48:20Speaker 4: They say from Sundance Square to... The stockyards, particular buildings.
- 48:26Speaker 4: Let's not forget about Miss Molly's Hotel. They say it's haunted.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Number one, Dallas.
- 48:31Speaker 5: Really?
- 48:32Speaker 3: Dallas is number one on the list.
- 48:35Speaker 4: From White Rock Lake, the Lady of the Lake, from
- 48:37Speaker 4: Adolphus Hotel, to many things that have happened here. But today,
- 48:40Speaker 4: we're going to talk about one place that I have
- 48:42Speaker 4: never heard before. Because, I mean, we've always talked about
- 48:44Speaker 4: those places.
- 48:45Speaker 6: Right.
- 48:46Speaker 3: You know, we've talked about... The Adolphus.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:49Speaker 3: We've talked about the Baker Hotel, but I've never heard
- 48:52Speaker 3: this story about a cemetery in Garland. This is called
- 48:57Speaker 3: Mills Cemetery. Have you ever heard of it?
- 49:00Speaker 5: No.
- 49:00Speaker 3: No, and that's where I stay. At the cemetery?
- 49:03Speaker 1: Not yet.
- 49:04Speaker 7: Oh, God.
- 49:05Speaker 3: I mean, you are getting old, but.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Let's see where it is.
- 49:08Speaker 3: So, yeah, yeah, you can find the exact address.
- 49:12Speaker 5: Centerville and Lakeview Parkway.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Right.
- 49:14Speaker 6: Whoa.
- 49:15Speaker 4: There's a cemetery... called Mills Cemetery in Garland and there's
- 49:18Speaker 4: a grave inside known as Smiley's grave Charles Oscar Smiley
- 49:26Speaker 4: really the entire Smiley family there's five people buried there
- 49:30Speaker 4: right father mother and their three young daughters all five
- 49:35Speaker 4: died in the exact same day in 1927 Witch Pooh,
- 49:40Speaker 4: do you remember that year?
- 49:41Speaker 1: No, I wasn't alive.
- 49:43Speaker 3: Now, supposedly and allegedly, his spirit in particular haunts the cemetery.
- 49:50Speaker 3: Here's the real creepy part.
- 49:51Speaker 4: For decades, I'm talking decades, teenagers around Garland, I mean,
- 49:55Speaker 4: they would dare each other.
- 49:55Speaker 3: To lie down on the Smiley Grave. Oh, no. No,
- 50:02Speaker 3: listen to this.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Nope.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Because they say, legend says if you lie on the grave....
- 50:10Speaker 1: Especially around midnight. And if you do it on Halloween,
- 50:13Speaker 1: that's next level.
- 50:14Speaker 5: It's got to be.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Something invisible will grab you. And I'm not talking about
- 50:20Speaker 3: just one person has said this. And here's the crazy
- 50:24Speaker 3: part is the rumor was going around for years.
- 50:27Speaker 4: And I looked into it that Charles, the dad, Ixnayed
- 50:31Speaker 4: everybody in the family. I'm trying to be friendly about it.
- 50:34Speaker 4: Deleted everybody in the family. But that's not what happened.
- 50:38Speaker 4: It was actually a devastating tornado that took everybody's lives
- 50:44Speaker 4: on the same day. So they were all buried. But
- 50:47Speaker 4: I guess it's the way they put it on the grave.
- 50:50Speaker 4: It looks very creepy. It's like all died.
- 50:53Speaker 3: On this day. And that's all it says. So they
- 50:55Speaker 3: say if you lie down on this grave, you'll feel
- 51:00Speaker 3: something invisible grab you. Or you'll feel an incredible amount
- 51:05Speaker 3: of pressure on your chest.
- 51:08Speaker 1: So for decades, people have been doing this. And if
- 51:10Speaker 1: you've ever done this, I want to know about it.
- 51:11Speaker 3: 833-787-1029. Yeah.
- 51:16Speaker 4: So here's the craziest part, though, is I'm looking at
- 51:19Speaker 4: stories that people have said about this online. And there
- 51:22Speaker 4: is a I don't want to say his name just
- 51:25Speaker 4: in case, but there's a Garland City official that was
- 51:27Speaker 4: I mean, I'm talking high up back.
- 51:29Speaker 1: In the day.
- 51:30Speaker 3: And he said that he went there in 1985 and
- 51:34Speaker 3: did this out of like being a stupid kid, whatever. Right.
- 51:37Speaker 3: And he told a.
- 51:38Speaker 4: Story as an adult and said, I thought it was
- 51:40Speaker 4: going to be laughable and we were going to joke
- 51:42Speaker 4: and we were going to leave and go, ha ha, whatever.
- 51:44Speaker 3: Nothing happened. He said he felt something sit on his chest.
- 51:49Speaker 4: Oh, I'm out. When he lied down, when he laid
- 51:53Speaker 4: down on the grave. So, and by the way, this
- 51:56Speaker 4: is a real cemetery. So I'm not telling you to
- 51:59Speaker 4: go do this.
- 51:59Speaker 7: Right.
- 52:00Speaker 3: Because I think it's incredibly disrespectful. Oh, yeah. You shouldn't
- 52:03Speaker 3: do that. I'm just saying what people have done over
- 52:05Speaker 3: the years.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Right.
- 52:07Speaker 3: But is that not terrifying?
- 52:08Speaker 5: That is, yeah.
- 52:09Speaker 4: It's called Mills Cemetery, Charles Oscar Smiley. Real grave, still there.
- 52:15Speaker 3: I don't know. If you've gone to haunted places near you,
- 52:19Speaker 3: let me know.
- 52:19Speaker 5: It's only 17 miles from here.
- 52:21Speaker 3: I know.
- 52:21Speaker 1: It's 10 minutes from my house.
- 52:23Speaker 3: Is it?
- 52:23Speaker 1: Centerville and Lakeview, yes.
- 52:25Speaker 4: And you can visit the cemetery, so people do. I
- 52:29Speaker 4: will say, though, that Don't do it. I'm going to
- 52:32Speaker 4: advise you not to do it because the cemetery itself
- 52:35Speaker 4: says they don't want you to.
- 52:37Speaker 5: Right.
- 52:38Speaker 4: Even the family, the Smiley family has said, please don't
- 52:41Speaker 4: lie down on the grave.
- 52:42Speaker 5: Right.
- 52:42Speaker 3: Of our loved ones. So I'm just out of respect.
- 52:45Speaker 3: I want to say that. But if we did it.
- 52:50Speaker 6: No.
- 52:50Speaker 3: If we got permission.
- 52:52Speaker 1: No.
- 52:53Speaker 3: If we got permission from the family.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:57Speaker 3: Should we send poo?
- 52:58Speaker 6: No. No.
- 53:00Speaker 3: Should we put it on the Wheel of Misfortune?
- 53:02Speaker 1: No, we can't, please.
- 53:04Speaker 3: Should we put it?
- 53:05Speaker 6: No.
- 53:06Speaker 4: I mean, that wouldn't mean just you. That would mean
- 53:09Speaker 4: all of us or one of us would have to
- 53:10Speaker 4: do it. You can always hit us up at Mix1029FM
- 53:14Speaker 4: on Instagram if you think we should do it and
- 53:16Speaker 4: put it on the Wheel of Misfortune.
- 53:18Speaker 3: We have to do it around midnight.
- 53:19Speaker 4: I don't know if we can do it around midnight
- 53:21Speaker 4: if we're doing it live on the air, but if
- 53:22Speaker 4: we did it early enough, it'd still be dark.
- 53:24Speaker 5: That's true.
- 53:24Speaker 3: If we did it like 610 AM.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Start the show there.
- 53:29Speaker 3: Start the show live from the Smiley Grave.
- 53:33Speaker 1: No!
- 53:34Speaker 3: Okay.
- 53:34Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 53:36Speaker 3: People are getting crazy.
- 53:37Speaker 4: It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. We're
- 53:41Speaker 4: going to do that at 830 pretty much every day
- 53:43Speaker 4: all week, our terror tour, and talk about haunted places
- 53:46Speaker 4: here in the Metroplex. And we just talked about this cemetery,
- 53:49Speaker 4: Mills Cemetery in Garland, where if you lay down on
- 53:51Speaker 4: Charles Smiley's grave, the Smiley Grave, It feels like something
- 53:56Speaker 4: will grab you, like it's an invisible thing that will
- 53:58Speaker 4: grab you or feel like someone's sitting on your chest.
- 54:00Speaker 7: No, thanks.
- 54:01Speaker 3: Yeah, no. People are saying they've done it before.
- 54:03Speaker 4: I just had somebody DM me, said, yeah, I did
- 54:05Speaker 4: it when I was a kid, and I totally remember
- 54:07Speaker 4: feeling pressure on my head.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Oh, man, come on.
- 54:10Speaker 3: No, uh-uh.
- 54:11Speaker 4: Either way, we're going to do it all. We talk
- 54:12Speaker 4: about different haunted places, then give away. Pass it to
- 54:15Speaker 4: Cutting Edge, which is one of my favorite haunted houses.
- 54:17Speaker 5: So good.
- 54:18Speaker 1: It's so good in Fort Worth if you want to go.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Let's hook it up. Who's this?
- 54:22Speaker 1: This is Randy. What's up, Randy?
- 54:24Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 54:24Speaker 5: I'm on the way to work, brother.
- 54:26Speaker 3: How are you? I'm good, man.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 54:27Speaker 3: Where are you from?
- 54:28Speaker 1: Well, don't hate on me too much.
- 54:31Speaker 3: You're from where? You cut out.
- 54:33Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 54:34Speaker 6: Randy.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 54:35Speaker 6: Randy.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know where you're from. What a teaser.
- 54:39Speaker 5: It's got to be Mesquite.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that Mesquite cell phone. See?
- 54:41Speaker 3: It's got to be Mesquite or Garland, and that was
- 54:43Speaker 3: Charles Smiley that hung up on us.
- 54:45Speaker 6: No.
- 54:46Speaker 5: Just sat on Randy?
- 54:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Oh, Randy. Where'd you go?
- 54:52Speaker 1: This is so.
- 54:53Speaker 3: This is very sad. Let's take a moment of silence
- 54:56Speaker 3: for Randy.
- 54:56Speaker 5: Yeah. Oh, call us back.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Oh, or you could do that.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:01Speaker 3: Whatever you want to do. Oh, maybe this is him
- 55:03Speaker 3: calling back up.
- 55:03Speaker 5: Wait.
- 55:04Speaker 3: Is this Randy? It is. There you are, Randy.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Okay, well, I didn't even have a chance to say
- 55:09Speaker 1: you won.
- 55:09Speaker 3: Congratulations.
- 55:11Speaker 6: Austin, Austin.
- 55:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't want to give away your... I don't
- 55:13Speaker 1: know what happened a minute ago.
- 55:15Speaker 3: No, it's okay.
- 55:15Speaker 4: I didn't want to give away your tickets, and then,
- 55:17Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Like, I was just going
- 55:18Speaker 4: to wait for you, but I'm sick of waiting around
- 55:19Speaker 4: for everybody, Randy.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Damn it.
- 55:22Speaker 3: I know.
- 55:23Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 55:23Speaker 3: But now we got to know where you're from.
- 55:24Speaker 5: I live in Prosper.
- 55:26Speaker 1: I'm from Garland originally. I know the cemetery that y'all
- 55:29Speaker 1: were talking about, actually.
- 55:31Speaker 3: Oh, you do? Have you ever laid down on the grave?
- 55:33Speaker 3: We thought it was him that hung up on him.
- 55:35Speaker 3: You what?
- 55:36Speaker 5: I have not, but I know exactly.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Where it is. Did you ever hear that growing up
- 55:41Speaker 3: about that guy's grave? I did.
- 55:42Speaker 7: I remember hearing something about that, yeah.
- 55:44Speaker 1: But you were a smart kid and were like, I'm
- 55:46Speaker 1: not going to lay down on some grave.
- 55:47Speaker 3: No.
- 55:48Speaker 6: Right?
- 55:49Speaker 3: Never.
- 55:50Speaker 6: Never.
- 55:50Speaker 3: Yeah, smart, Randy. See, that's why Randy survived. Seriously. Well,
- 55:55Speaker 3: thank you, Randy. We appreciate you listening. Stay right there
- 55:57Speaker 3: so we can hook you up, okay? Got it.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Thank y'all so much.
- 55:59Speaker 3: You're so welcome. Cutting edge passes for you. Your dad's
- 56:02Speaker 3: a Randy. Yeah. He is.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Yes.
- 56:04Speaker 3: You had to think about that. She was like, my
- 56:07Speaker 3: dad is a Randy. Wait a minute.
- 56:07Speaker 5: Yeah, that's right.
- 56:08Speaker 3: That's right. Randy's are smart.
- 56:10Speaker 5: They are very smart.
- 56:11Speaker 4: Can I ask you something that I was just laughing at, Candice?
- 56:13Speaker 4: And I want to ask you, Empu, I should have
- 56:15Speaker 4: you write down your answers because I don't know if
- 56:17Speaker 4: you're going to be honest about it.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Okay. And you might say one thing if someone else
- 56:21Speaker 3: says another. And just be honest about it. And I'm
- 56:24Speaker 3: begging you to be honest about it.
- 56:25Speaker 4: Don't lie about it because they were asking people on
- 56:27Speaker 4: Reddit this question.
- 56:28Speaker 3: It's such a simple question, but there were so many
- 56:30Speaker 3: different answers. Oh, God. How many times and how often
- 56:34Speaker 3: do you wash your sheets?
- 56:36Speaker 5: Oh, okay. That's an easy one.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Okay, what is it?
- 56:38Speaker 5: Like once a week.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Okay, see.
- 56:40Speaker 5: Sometimes I go a little longer, a week and a half.
- 56:42Speaker 5: It's like Sunday just doesn't work. I just, something came up.
- 56:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 56:45Speaker 3: I appreciate your honesty, Candace. Producer Pooh.
- 56:49Speaker 1: I clock work every Sunday. I don't believe it.
- 56:51Speaker 3: I'm going to play the line music.
- 56:52Speaker 1: Wow. Because y'all nasty?
- 56:55Speaker 3: No.
- 56:55Speaker 5: No, because life happens.
- 56:56Speaker 1: No, life happens, but Sunday is my dedicated wash day.
- 57:02Speaker 1: That's what I got to do. Start off early Sunday morning,
- 57:05Speaker 1: throw all the sheets, pillowcases, everything in there, scent beads. Boom.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Get it going.
- 57:10Speaker 5: Not on your sheets, bro.
- 57:11Speaker 2: Yeah, scent beads on your sheets.
- 57:14Speaker 3: Not on your sheets, bro.
- 57:16Speaker 5: And you're just like sleeping and breathing all that in
- 57:18Speaker 5: all night.
- 57:19Speaker 1: It smells good.
- 57:20Speaker 3: First of all, you know Candace says those are toxic.
- 57:23Speaker 3: She doesn't like that.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Well, I'm sorry. It smells good.
- 57:25Speaker 5: Well, that's fine. Do what you want to do.
- 57:27Speaker 1: All right.
- 57:28Speaker 4: Well, I do once a week, but... There's times like Candace,
- 57:32Speaker 4: I think we're being honest and Pooh's not.
- 57:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Every once in a while you get busy and you
- 57:36Speaker 1: might be at once every two weeks.
- 57:37Speaker 5: There's no way you have nothing going on on Sunday
- 57:40Speaker 5: every week.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Right.
- 57:41Speaker 5: You're just open to just throw your sheets in the
- 57:44Speaker 5: wash and dry them.
- 57:45Speaker 4: One of the most popular answers, surprisingly, on Reddit was
- 57:49Speaker 4: not once a week, not twice a week.
- 57:52Speaker 3: A lot of people said once a month.
- 57:54Speaker 5: Wow.
- 57:55Speaker 1: That's nasty.
- 57:56Speaker 3: Nasty. And I bet you they got the pink ring
- 57:59Speaker 3: around the toilet, too. No, I don't know if that's
- 58:01Speaker 3: the case. Someone else said, I'm going to give you
- 58:03Speaker 3: certain comments that people said. Somebody said, I'm once a month. Sorry,
- 58:07Speaker 3: but I'm not that sweaty. It doesn't matter that much.
- 58:10Speaker 3: Somebody said weekly.
- 58:11Speaker 4: If I were rich and had a maid daily, I.
- 58:14Speaker 3: Would do that. I swear I want them fresh every
- 58:15Speaker 3: single night. Room service.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't do that. Now, this one, okay. Someone
- 58:21Speaker 1: said this. They said, it depends.
- 58:23Speaker 3: It depends on whether you wear full body clean pajamas,
- 58:26Speaker 3: whether you shower before bed. Do you sleep on your back?
- 58:30Speaker 3: How much do you drool and how often do you sweat?
- 58:33Speaker 5: That's a lot of variables.
- 58:34Speaker 3: That is a lot.
- 58:35Speaker 4: I feel like in Texas you almost have to do it.
- 58:38Speaker 4: once a week because, I mean, I know we got AC,
- 58:41Speaker 4: but we're just, it's hot here.
- 58:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 58:43Speaker 4: So it tends to get sweaty. But that is a
- 58:45Speaker 4: good point. Like, I shower before bed. I go to
- 58:47Speaker 4: bed clean.
- 58:48Speaker 6: Right.
- 58:48Speaker 3: Same.
- 58:49Speaker 1: You do too?
- 58:50Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Now, this is something else Pooh lies about. What?
- 58:52Speaker 3: Pooh says that he takes a shower before he goes
- 58:55Speaker 3: to bed and when he wakes up.
- 58:56Speaker 1: I do.
- 58:56Speaker 5: Nobody does that.
- 58:57Speaker 6: What? I do.
- 58:59Speaker 3: No, you don't. Yes, I do.
- 59:01Speaker 1: I wish I could call up Space Girl. She'll tell you.
- 59:03Speaker 3: Excuse me?
- 59:04Speaker 1: She'll tell you. She even told me that's weird. Why
- 59:08Speaker 1: do you do that? Because that's what I do.
- 59:10Speaker 3: I always do it.
- 59:11Speaker 4: But you go to bed late. So if you go
- 59:12Speaker 4: to bed at 10 p.m. and you take a shower then,
- 59:15Speaker 4: and then you wake up at 3 and take another shower.
- 59:18Speaker 1: And pop up back up and take a shower. Yes,
- 59:20Speaker 1: I have to.
- 59:21Speaker 5: What a life.
- 59:21Speaker 1: To get my day going.
- 59:22Speaker 5: That sounds so great.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I have to. It's not true.
- 59:25Speaker 3: It is true.
- 59:26Speaker 1: You can come spend the night and I'll show you.
- 59:27Speaker 6: No.
- 59:29Speaker 1: Did you just.
- 59:29Speaker 3: Ask me to shower with you?
- 59:30Speaker 1: No, I didn't mean that. I didn't mean it like that.
- 59:34Speaker 1: I'm just saying.
- 59:35Speaker 3: I do think we should all stay. I think that's
- 59:37Speaker 3: something we should do soon. A sleepover? I think we
- 59:39Speaker 3: should do a show sleepover at everyone's house.
- 59:42Speaker 5: That'd be so fun.
- 59:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 59:43Speaker 3: You want to do that?
- 59:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 59:44Speaker 3: And we'll start with Pooh's house.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I hope y'all don't mind being on the cot. Somebody
- 59:48Speaker 1: got to take a cot.
- 59:49Speaker 5: Why?
- 59:50Speaker 1: Because my couch is like.
- 59:51Speaker 3: No, Candace gets your bed.
- 59:53Speaker 5: No, I'll sleep on the couch.
- 59:54Speaker 1: She is not going to sleep on my bed. I'm
- 59:57Speaker 1: the only one that does that.
- 59:58Speaker 2: I can sleep on the couch.
- 59:59Speaker 3: You wouldn't want to sleep on the couch?
- 1:00:01Speaker 6: No, that's weird.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: What if it's BYOS?
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: What?
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: For your own sheets?
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: No.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: You still want one of those? No, that's weird. How
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: old is your mattress?
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: About three years old. Be honest.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: Does it have brown stains?
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: No, it doesn't. No, it doesn't. No, it doesn't. It's Tempur-Pedic. Oh, well, Tempur-Pedic.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Got that soft phone.
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: Big flag.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: It has to be when you're getting old.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the Kid
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: in the morning.
- 1:00:31Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: We got $ 1, 000 coming up. Get ready for that. We
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: do it at 940 again. So we do it on
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: the 40s pretty much every hour, all day.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: So hook up some money on a Monday.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: Well, the Granada Theater on Greenville Avenue has officially been sold.
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: The venue will host events through April of next year.
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: The restaurant Sundown at the Granada, that's actually going to
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: close November 1st. Yeah, I saw this online. I think
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: it was like late Friday this happened.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: That's sad.
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: I know, it is sad. That theater opened in 1946.
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: It is going to be turned into a bathhouse called Bathhouse.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: We really need... Another bathhouse here?
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: I think there's a lot of spas in general.
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: Yeah, there are, which I love spas. But a bathhouse
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: has a different vibe to it that I'm just not
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: used to. But they have saunas. They'll have massages. I
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: guess they have three other locations in New York, Philadelphia.
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: They're working to open soon in Chicago and New Jersey. Yeah,
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: just sad to see that venue not be what we've
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: always known it to be.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Why an iconic place?
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: It should be a historic landmark at this point.
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: It's also, they say, haunted. You know, Lower Greenville is
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: very haunted.
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: I didn't know that.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Like Snuffers right there, they say, is haunted.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: I mean, one of the owners, I don't know if
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: it's still the same owner, but at one point, I
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: think we had him on the show. Either way, he
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: said he wouldn't even go in there alone.
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: Really? Yeah.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: He's like, it is terrifying, the amount of paranormal activity
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: at that Snuffers and the Granada.
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: And the building that used to be Red Jacket back
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: in the day.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:01:59Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: Which is next door, and if you know about Red
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: Jacket back in the day, it's time for your colonoscopy.
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: What's crazy is the company that bought the Granada uses
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: Bitcoin mining to heat these pools in the bathhouses in
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: their other locations. They haven't said yet if the Dallas
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: location will do the same, but what a weird concept.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: So the water from the Bitcoin mining, the computers, is
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: going to heat up the pool?
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: So we want to soak in hot computer water?
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Ew.
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: Yeah, no, it doesn't sound refreshing when you put it
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: that way.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Oh, it's not good.
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll definitely keep you posted, though. Guys, Apple's first
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, was officially released Friday. It
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: sold out almost instantly. They're saying back orders are now
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: pushing into late January for people who want this phone.
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: So right now they're priced $ 2, 000 to.
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: $ 3, 000.
- 1:02:46Speaker 5: But some are on eBay already for as much as $ 15, 000.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: Well, there's no way that's going to last because I
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: told you earlier the drama that's happening with that phone.
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: Yeah, I did.
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: Know about that.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: People are getting it then they're going home sometimes they're
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: not even home.
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: Yet and they open it back up and they're folding
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: it showing people what's going on look I can fold
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: it and they open it back up and there's like
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: a messed up pixelated screen or a line across it
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: and they're having they have to take it back that's
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: happened multiple times To multiple people. I've seen it online
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: like at least 10 or 12, 10, maybe 10, 11 times.
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: So I don't know. Maybe they want to rethink this idea.
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: Maybe so. Guys, real quick. Rumor has it Jay-Z is
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: calling in every favor to make this Super Bowl bigger
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: than ever. So, you know, he was announced as the
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: halftime performer. Now I'm hearing his performance will include Beyonce, Rihanna,
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: Alicia Keys, Usher and Nas. The Super Bowl, of course,
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: happens on Valentine's Day next year. So, yeah, I'm waiting
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: to see, like, an official announcement or teaser for this.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know. He's got a ton of
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: big songs.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: It's just kind of weird that he picked himself because
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: he's the one who controls everything.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: But, I mean, if you get Jay-Z. You get Beyonce.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: If she'll do it.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: It'll be huge.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Yeah, she'll do it.
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: What?
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: That's just because Beyonce is Beyonce. Even if it's his
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: wife or not, she might be like, how much?
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: They don't even get paid for these performances. But they
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: do in the long run because the streams go up.
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: If we're talking about it now, it's not even until February.
- 1:04:09Speaker 5: I mean, it's going to be a big deal. You've
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: got to have Beyonce. It's not the same.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Rihanna comes out. Right. I'm not mad at that show.
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: No, it'd be great. Yeah, I'll keep you posted if
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: anything official releases. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: Top Stories on... Put.
- 1:04:25Speaker 6: It off your chest. We promise you'll feel better.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Welcome to Dirty Little Secrets.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: Nix 102.9.
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: It's Bill and the Kid, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: $ 1, 000 coming up next if you want it, especially on
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: a Monday. Yeah. If you've got a morning like us,
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: you'll need this $ 1, 000. It could go towards fixing your AC.
- 1:04:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: Which is out in here.
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: I don't know if they have it fixed yet, but
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: I will say it's down to 81 because Pooh brought
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: a fan in.
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: Thanks, Pooh.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: Thanks, Pooh. You're welcome. What a hero. Not all heroes
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: wear capes.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Nope, they don't.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: All right. If you've got a secret, 833-787-1029. Confessing, you've
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: got a big secret.
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: It is a big secret, and I did tell my mom,
- 1:05:03Speaker 7: but I honestly don't think that I will ever tell
- 1:05:07Speaker 7: anyone else ever again. But long story short, so almost
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: nine years ago, I actually gave birth to a little girl,
- 1:05:16Speaker 7: and I did make a very hard decision to.
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: Give her up for adoption. And yeah, it's a really
- 1:05:26Speaker 7: long story. But yeah, it was a very difficult decision.
- 1:05:31Speaker 7: And I don't really want to get into that.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: But it was an anonymous adoption, actually.
- 1:05:36Speaker 7: So it was arranged through someone that I trusted.
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: And I never met the parents.
- 1:05:40Speaker 7: And that was how I wanted to do it. You know, I, I,
- 1:05:42Speaker 7: that was how I wanted to do it.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: So, um, I, over the years, I have.
- 1:05:47Speaker 7: Spent years in therapy, uh, you know, dealing with it. And,
- 1:05:51Speaker 7: and some days I feel like I did the right
- 1:05:53Speaker 7: thing and other days, you know, it's, it, I regret
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: it almost like unbearably. So, um, yeah, I, but it,
- 1:06:02Speaker 7: I made my decision and I've lived with it and
- 1:06:04Speaker 7: that's that, but so here's where things get crazy. Um,
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: So I've worked as a nanny for several years. And
- 1:06:11Speaker 7: about six months ago, someone that I knew had recommended
- 1:06:16Speaker 7: this family to me that they.
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: Were looking for help with their kids and they have
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: a son and a daughter.
- 1:06:21Speaker 7: And I'm sure you can see where this is going,
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: but I swear to you, the second that I saw
- 1:06:27Speaker 7: the little girl, I just almost fell to my knees.
- 1:06:31Speaker 7: I can't explain how, but I just.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Yeah no way I'm.
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: Like yes I know what she looked so much like
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: me when I was little and I don't know there
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: was a feeling that I just cannot even put into
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: words that something inside of me recognized her and.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: It was for sure this is for sure your biological
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: daughter well.
- 1:07:01Speaker 7: So then I started you know, trying to put the
- 1:07:04Speaker 7: pieces together. Right. So I found out her age and
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: she was eight and just about to turn nine, which
- 1:07:10Speaker 7: meant that the dates completely matched up. And eventually through
- 1:07:15Speaker 7: conversations with her parents, I did find out that she
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: was adopted.
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: And I know, I know. And it's weird. It's like
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: crazy how the universe works.
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: I mean, we don't live in a like some small
- 1:07:30Speaker 7: tiny town where everybody knows everybody. I mean, we're not
- 1:07:34Speaker 7: in like the most, the largest city ever either, but
- 1:07:37Speaker 7: what are the chances?
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: You know, what are the chances? Slim, they gotta be slim.
- 1:07:42Speaker 7: Yeah, and I guess my actual secret, my actual secret is,
- 1:07:48Speaker 7: so I've been taking care of my own biological daughter
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: for six months and her parents have absolutely no idea.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: So you didn't actually. So I thought this could go
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: one of two ways. Like you said, OK, I can't
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: do this because here's why. But you didn't say anything
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: and you you've never mentioned it to them once or anybody.
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: Well, no.
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: Well, I told my mom.
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:08:14Speaker 7: My mom at first thought I was absolutely crazy. But
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: then she was more and the more. info that we got,
- 1:08:20Speaker 7: you know, the more she believes that it.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Could be possible.
- 1:08:23Speaker 7: And I did almost tell the family in the beginning,
- 1:08:26Speaker 7: and I actually was almost going to quit because I
- 1:08:29Speaker 7: just didn't think that I could, you know, emotionally handle it.
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: But I just kept showing up. And now I can't
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: imagine not seeing her.
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: I mean, part of me feels like this is like
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: God's way.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: Of bringing us back together. And I don't know.
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: She has an amazing life.
- 1:08:46Speaker 7: Her parents are wonderful people. And I can I'm so
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: grateful for everything that they've given her. But I would
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: be lying if I said that I wasn't jealous sometimes,
- 1:08:56Speaker 7: you know, like watching.
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: Another woman be her mother.
- 1:09:00Speaker 7: And hearing her call someone else mommy and it hurts
- 1:09:03Speaker 7: like more than I can explain.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: I can't even imagine.
- 1:09:08Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah. Sometimes I look at the two of us
- 1:09:10Speaker 7: and I'm like, how do other people not see that
- 1:09:13Speaker 7: we look so.
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: Much alike?
- 1:09:17Speaker 7: How are people not seeing this and I don't know.
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: I feel like your.
- 1:09:22Speaker 7: Listeners or people would say that I need to tell
- 1:09:25Speaker 7: her parents, but just so they know where I'm coming from,
- 1:09:30Speaker 7: I'm terrified that the second I do that, that they
- 1:09:32Speaker 7: would fire me and I would never see her again.
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: I don't know if I'm around long enough.
- 1:09:37Speaker 7: Maybe things would be different and maybe someday I would
- 1:09:40Speaker 7: tell them. But right now, you know, I don't plan
- 1:09:42Speaker 7: on saying anything.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: And you don't.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: Maybe it's selfish.
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe it's selfish.
- 1:09:46Speaker 7: But for the first time in like nine years, you know,
- 1:09:49Speaker 7: I get to be a part of my daughter's life,
- 1:09:51Speaker 7: even if she has absolutely no idea who I really am.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: Literally gave me the chills.
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: I mean, because this is I'm trying to think how
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: I would react as a parent if I was in
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: the situation in their shoes, because I I don't know
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: if I'd be comfortable with it.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: And it's not to say anything bad about you or
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: the decision you made by any means. That's your choice,
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: your decision. there's so many, what ifs, what if, you know,
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: you get too emotionally tied and you can't let go
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: and you start to blur the lines. There's so many things.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: I don't know. Candace is a mom.
- 1:10:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: I'd be afraid that you guys would connect in a
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: way that would make her feel uncomfortable or question it,
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: or God forbid you said something. And then you, you know,
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: we couldn't have, we didn't have any words to say
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: about it at the time.
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: Cause we're not there. But I mean, I'm in putting
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: myself in your shoes. I can't imagine walking into a
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: room and you, you felt that connection instantly. You just knew.
- 1:10:43Speaker 7: Absolutely with really honestly in that second without a shadow
- 1:10:46Speaker 7: of a doubt.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: That is it that is such a powerful coincidence yeah
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: the positive part is at least she has an amazing.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Life yeah you know at least you yes.
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: You get some kind of um closure if you needed
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: it or not but at least you see it's not
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: a situation where you're walking into the parents are awful
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: and it could be.
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: Worse yeah and i know it's a gift and it's
- 1:11:08Speaker 7: also yeah.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: It's crazy Well, keep us up to date.
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: I really appreciate you sharing that because I know it's
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: pretty emotional, but please let us know what happens and
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: good luck with everything.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: I will.
- 1:11:19Speaker 6: I will.
- 1:11:19Speaker 7: Thanks for letting me chat it out.
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: Absolutely. I can't believe how many DMs I'm getting of
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: people saying I would never let her near my daughter. Right.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: I don't trust her. Yeah.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Which, it's not her fault that this happened.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: I mean.
- 1:11:34Speaker 5: It's kind of sus.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: What are the odds?
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: Well, someone else said that. What are the odds this
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: is going to happen by chance?
- 1:11:41Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: Some people don't think it's by chance.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: Which is terrifying.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: We're about to get out of here.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: Don't forget, thousands of dollars up for grabs, so we
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: still got money on the 40s.
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: Listen to win.
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh. By
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: the way, shout out to Derek, who said, wow, for once,
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: Pooh's not alone. I actually shower at night and in
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: the morning as well.
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: And I said, Derek, the difference is we believe you.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Oh, you're such a hater.
- 1:12:07Speaker 4: I'm just saying, I don't think poo changes sheets every week.
- 1:12:10Speaker 4: I'm not even saying it's a bad thing. I'm not
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: even picking on poo. I'm just saying, I think it's
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: like every other week for him.
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: And that's fine.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: I just can't do it. These are things that my
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: mom instilled in me early, early on. I used to
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: get in trouble when I didn't do this stuff. So
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: I just naturally do it. Just like I always wash dishes.
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: I know, but showering, she wouldn't care if you showered twice.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: No, she just used to always say, hey, you know,
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: take a shower, be thorough about it.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: You know, cause I was good.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: I was an athlete. I knew he was going to
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: say that.
- 1:12:43Speaker 6: Wow.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: I was an athlete.
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: You were a mascot.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: That counts.
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: That's an athlete.
- 1:12:49Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: But I also ran track. No, I know.
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: Which is hysterical. Yeah.
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: It's, it's fun to think about.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Cause I got bad wheels.
- 1:12:56Speaker 6: I know.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: Well now, I mean, it's just, you're not a big
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: fan of walking much less running. So just to think
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: that you, at one point, were decent at track is, man. Yeah.
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: Seems like a lifetime ago, that's for sure.
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: I think Justin said that he didn't believe you about
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: washing your sheets because you were at the fair last Sunday.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: That's a good point.
- 1:13:13Speaker 5: He was like, that was last minute, so.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: When did he have time to wash his sheets?
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: Because when I first got up in the morning, Justin,
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: I stuck them bad boys in there.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: You let them sit all day?
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:21Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Oh, funky. Aren't they funky?
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: Oh, musty sheets.
- 1:13:27Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: Oh, ooh, scent beads will cover it up. All right,
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: Candace Lopez, what do you got going on today?
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: What are you doing?
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: I'm definitely going to find some air conditioning somewhere, that's
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: for sure.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: What, it's only 82 in the studio?
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's fine.
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: Big deal. Who cares?
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: All right, yeah, no, I never thought I'd have to
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: take a shower after the show.
- 1:13:46Speaker 7: I know.

- 1:14:15Speaker 3: I don't know what's dirtier, poo sheets or that pumpkin costume.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: I mean, we're going on like year 11.
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: I know. I'll get it dry cleaned.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: You haven't?
- 1:14:24Speaker 5: No, I said I will get it dry cleaned before Friday.

- 1:14:30Speaker 3: Pumpkin kind of got it.
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: On that note, I'm not going to. We'll see if
