- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, let's get into the news.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: It was stewing for like 24 hours because the head coach kind of tipped his hand the day before by saying everything's on the table today he elaborated on this and he said Queen yours gives us the best chance to win well obviously I disagree with them right
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: But it's understandable once you realize two has a pretty large Indra Guarantee in his contract and if two has starts or Let's just say he leaves the reservation and by the way, why did you put him on the reservation to begin with?
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Right, but if he leaves the reservation such playing a little bit more reckless and he gets injured You're out a pretty big chunk of money
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: I believe there's injury guarantees like 20 million dollars, something like that, which is immediately guaranteed to do to injury.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: Although I believe he gets his entire salary no matter what next year, right?
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's no way around that.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, you try and avoid the injury guarantee, so you bench him now.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: but this is that the kind of decision that you don't necessarily come back from, right?
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I would say, you know, stranger things have happened and there's been some, some people have reminded me of other situations before where teams just, you know, bite the bullet and bring back guys for the final season, but there's other situations like the Denver Broncos where they did not do that.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now the Broncos bounce back rather nicely, but they did so with a rookie quarterback in tow.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well Miami have the opportunity to even take a rookie quarterback this year because if certain guys do not come out Dante Moore, Tysonson, people like that, the first round will essentially probably just have one guy and that's it.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: Fernando Mendoza, and we know he's going first overall, likely to the Las Vegas Raiders.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Raiders will overtake the Giants, but if they don't, I could see a swap from one to two, and the Raiders move it up to one to get him.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: Good news is that the Jets will not get him, because the Giants will not trade him inside of the same city, like that's not happening, right?
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're presented with something like that, then what is the alternative?
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: maybe it works out with when yours, although, what can you learn in three games?
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I guess if he goes crazy, 12 touchdowns, zero interceptions, they go 3 and L to end the season.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, down, like if that happens, then I guess you just say, okay, that's, that's, that's keep you one next year.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt about that.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's a starter next year, but that's not the case.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that that's something that you're going to see happen, and look, I've been pretty clear, but now he has a chance, right, I've been pretty clear of my opinion of Queniers, I don't think he's a starting caliber and a full quarterback.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: I just didn't like, I didn't, I had a bad evaluation from coming out of Texas.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he did.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he underachieved with spectacular rosters and maybe, you know, maybe those rosters weren't all that great, you know, look, exactly where the is.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: No great shakes.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: The running back blue, they went to Dallas, can't get on the field.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know, uh, you know, by the way, somebody puts in the chat.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: So if any other players you thought were crap turned out to be good.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I want to think about a few of those, you know, um, I did like very famously, I like Jordan love better than Justin Herbert.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: I, I, and coming out in that years draft that, Justin Herbert as my fourth rank quarterback, um, I'm pretty safe on that one, I think.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: I will get to your questions in the second half of the show, but still we got some housekeeping to do with this, with this situation.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: So what are, man, somebody's putting in the chat questions about, uh, brother, you got to spell Jalen Daniel's name correctly.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, yeah, he's a stud from Kansas, but he's small.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if we want to keep doing that.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: But let me, let me, I will get to
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: I will get to this, you know, in the second half of the show, but what are the alternatives, right?
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you need a quarterback.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to go back to Tua.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: I felt that the best case scenario is that you could have Tua be the placeholder in 2026.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: with a rookie intro that will take over in 2027, right?
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that that's that's in the cards now.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think the little attempt to trade to a and I think that the fallback will will be some type of
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: They'll just eat it, they'll eat his, his capture charge.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: And they'll try to do what the Broncos did.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: They'll bring in a cheap quarterback.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: And then you'll get out from under this mess in 2027.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: And then you can start building your team again, right?
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: But you're going to have to build in the short term, even if even if you're trading for a quarterback or whatever you do,
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: even if you do all those things and everything's not good or even if two was on the on the roster for twenty twenty six the twenty twenty six season at least the off season is was going to have to feature miniscule signings in free agency nothing big and a heavy emphasis on the draft
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: and the waiver wire.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: They were going to have to be very, very smart about how they built out this roster.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I advocated for, and I still do advocate for, bringing back a lot of these guys that you kind of like that are on cheap contracts.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like Rick Dulseach, like what are you doing getting rid of Greg Dulseach at the end of this season?
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like this is the guy you got to bring back.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's cheap and he's actually an NFL player.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have to find cheap NFL players.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: for the 2026 season.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: So you better hope to some of these young guys actually develop if you want to have a respectable season.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: Does that mean you're going to break the bank for somebody like a jackchones?
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: But do you offer them whatever you think is a reasonable contract to return?
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: You might even think about it with Russell Douglas.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready to cut bait with Ash and Davis and if I think my LeFan will, that's just the fact, okay?
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I would remake the entire wide receiver room except for a couple of guys.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: And we kind of know who those guys are, right?
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: But that brings us right back to the quarterback.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you know that two is not going to be hit, right?
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's not going to be hit.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: You don't come back from this.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: You don't really don't come back from what you're doing here, right?
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: So, do you trade for one?
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: Is there going to be an opportunity?
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: Look, I think there's going to be an opportunity to trade to a ton of value.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think somebody will see an opportunity there.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: Mind you, with us picking up at least 80% of it, right?
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to have to pick up like $40 million worth of his deal.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: At least, maybe we get lucky, we only have to pick up 35 for something like that.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: And some team picks up 15 or 16 or whatever the hell they have to pick up.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we get lucky, but more likely than not, some team is going to pick up 10 and we pick up the rest, right?
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to call it a win.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: And we get some, you know,
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: do to the contract.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: So you can't really hold up for great compensation on to it.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: Because this contract makes him not... essentially not tradable.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: The only reason he's tradable is because somebody's going to see something in him and he's going to see a starting quarterback at 10 million dollars.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, we're going to pick up the rest.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: So they're going to consider
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's the only way you're going to trade them, right?
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: But then how are you going to replace them?
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if you could do something like that.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: There are ways you can play with the salary cap that you could bring in your own trade target at quarterback and I understand everybody's help is going to start talking about Joe Burrow again.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I mean, I think that's something for it down the road and I have to go completely tits up in Cincinnati.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oddly enough, Quinn viewers could go a long way to helping us out to get Joe Burrow in
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to talk about Joe Burrow, but I'm going to talk about Brock Perti.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: Is there a way is he available?
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: Look he's not owed a lot of money going forward.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: His cap charges are really low for the next three seasons.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: would you trade something of consequence?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to take probably a first from pick.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: At least two second rompix to get somebody like Brock party.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: Brock party is essentially a healthy to a single la la, right handed.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: So he is right handed.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: So it'll help some of the, you know, some of the people on Twitter to understand Hordeback play a little bit better, you know, because I think two of being left handed broke people's brains.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Now is that something that is appealing to you?
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's appealing to me.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say that.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now, let's say targets.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: What about Mac Jones?
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: He could play in the system.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was insane that they didn't go after him as a backup this year, but oddly enough, of course, to a is healthy pretty much all year, healthy ish, and you don't need a backup the year that you probably would have liked to have seen a backup in there.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: What about James Winston?
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's everybody's favorite.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: Is he a real reclamation project?
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, not sure.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's happened before, right?
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's like these guys are found, like they're out there.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: They're guys that you can resurrect.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: You can resurrect their careers.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: Who are the Band-Aids?
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think Kirk Cousins is a Band-Aid.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think James Winston, oddly enough, is a Band-Aid.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: Can he play in the system?
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think he can.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's a really smart guy.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: Will it be effective?
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: No, he's a lottery ticket.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's going to win your games.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and he might even be really prolific in some of those games, but he's going to be he's going to make those same like he you see these are these mistakes that to his made this year He's going to do all of those he's going to make all those mistakes and he's going to make them much more consistently than to a ever has
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: So, what are the other realistic opportunities they may have to bring in a starting quarterback?
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: Well, one that that's going to be here for the long run, or as far as a reclamation project, does Daniel Jones do anything for you, and I understand what I'm about, he's with the the quotes.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he is a free agent, okay?
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: He is a free agent and he's injured.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: So, I don't think he's going to be ready for the start of the regular season, so maybe he'll sign on for something cheap.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: But that's another reclamation project.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: Are you going to do that?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: And that reclamation project is probably a two-year project.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: Are you going to do something like that?
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: While you have a rookie quarterback until that you draft?
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's something you want to do?
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know that there's going to be, especially in the owners box, right?
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be some apprehension about going too deep on this rebuild or this reset, because nobody likes to say rebuild anymore, right?
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I would doubt that they go the Daniel Jones route.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: But the one that intrigues me is Brock Perty.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: It does intrigue me and that's the one that I would monitor out of all of these.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we're going to go to break on the other side of the break.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: We will take all of your questions.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: But first, let me tell you about underdog football season is in full swing.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: Head it towards the playoffs and underdog and the dolphins will not be there.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, and underdog is the best place to get in on all the action.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: And is that time again?
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: So plan on underdog is easy.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: Just pick whether your favorite players will go higher or lower on stats like touchdowns, receiving yards, interceptions and more.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Can you fix right?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: And you can win up to 5,000 times your cash.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: Look, when you were just going to be on there, I understand, look, but the Cincinnati Bengals Defense is absolutely putrid.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: They're almost dead last in every single statistic that matters.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: They're 31st, oh, I apologize, they're 31st in third down defense, so they're not last on third down defense.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: They're the worst red zone defense, they're the worst in yards, they're the worst secondary in football.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: they're pretty much the worst and everything across the board so it's a good spot for queen yours man I could see a scenario where you could double dip on queen yours if you can right like you want to take the pick right because it's a rookie making his first start so he's going to be a little nervous he's going to be a little shaky so he might throw you one so maybe you want to take the you know higher on point five interceptions
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm thinking, look Burrow might put up points as the defense, you don't want to say that they're going to quit.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: But they say they're not going to be stressing or straining as hard because the playoffs are no longer on the line.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: And they have a rookie quarterback starting.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe Joe Burrow puts up a number.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: on the Dolphins and Quinnures has to throw a lot and he gets extended garbage time.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: You saw two, a garbage time put up to 53.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I think Quinnures numbers are going to be really low.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe you want to take higher on passing yards for Quinnures.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: That will be my play.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: So download the underdog app today and use the promo code three yards to score $75 in bonus entries when you play your first five dollars That's a promo code three yards the number three yards underdog make picks win money
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: It must be 18 plus, 19 plus in Alabama in Nebraska, 19 plus in Colorado for some games, 21 plus in Arizona, Massachusetts, and Virginia, and present in a state where underdog fantasy operates.

- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: And we are back.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let me get into your questions.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: You seem to have plenty.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: All right, uh, first question.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: In my opinion, the two of our McDonald's stay in Miami next year or neither.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm, look, if yours is absolutely horrid, I think neither is here next year.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: If yours is really good in these last three games, then Mike McDaniel is just gonna, he's gonna point to it and trust me.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: His buddies in the national media will make sure to point out, look, Mike McDaniel is genius.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: He did it again, you know.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: He turned Quinn Euras into something.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: They win some games, like look, put it this way.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: A lock to come back next season.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: He goes oh and three all bets are off He goes three and now that they'll extend them and give him a raise and give him bonuses But two and one man, he's a lock to come back and I think that the way the team looks like look if the defense Look I said this on the pod and I think it's the absolute truth.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: This is the first time in the McDaniel era They're gonna play games there are essentially meaningless, right?
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: every other time even last year the last game in New York remember if they beat New York the last game of the season and the chiefs had lost to the Broncos of course the chiefs were sitting everybody right so they were going to lose to the Broncos so Dolphins really had no chance but
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: Still, there weren't mathematically eliminated, right?
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: So this is the first time that I'm going to play a meaning in this game.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: Will this team lay down?
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: Will they quit?
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: If they do, then you get your answer there on Mike McDaniel.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: Next question, what do you want to see out of Quinn these next three games?
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like besides wins from an individual performance, what success?
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: What does success look like to you?
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: Success looks like to me, especially with Quinn yours, playing like a robot.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see and look, I will break down on only friends, by the way.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: And again discord.gg4slashonlyfins because I remember there a lot says 499 a month through it on a desktop I will break down every single one of his throws and what he's seeing as far as coverage is I want to see him play sound football good decisions over and over again he doesn't have to dazzle me with all my god look at that throw and oh my god he just scrambled for 25 yards I don't want to see none of that stuff
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: sound decisions all came, moved the chains, play like a robot, that's what this this scheme entails and what they want.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: Part of the problem with Tua is, especially this season is that he was playing with way too much personality and what he was trying against certain coverages, just take what they're giving you.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: Be boring.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: If you're boring,
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: The run game should assist you in scoring points in this in this in this game coming up Because again like I said the the Bengals are pretty bad defensively
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: uh next next question with two is contract and cap hit being so horrific kind of get relief with taryx contract yes uh they're gonna save a big chunk of it almost uh i think it's twenty four million dollars so yeah they're getting relief from taryx contract they're getting relief from Bradley Turbs contract those are the two big ones that are gonna start off.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: Next question.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: So chances they find a trade partner for two.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think the chances will be good.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's part of being a good general manager.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: You got to get creative Look as far as compensation.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: Don't get greedy.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: You're not getting much if anything.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: You might even have to pay something, right?
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: Can you get out from part of that contract next year?
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's going to be the goal.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what they're going to try to do.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: Next question, was the route combo on the interception about as dumb as a played assigned as possible?
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way you could run, look, first of all, you have to allow, and this is just quarterbacking 101.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: This is play design 101.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: You have to allow for the most popular coverage in all of football, which is,
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: Two deep.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's a zone coverage, okay?
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: To the field side to the field side remember this is the long side of the field corner carries Right line-backer has the flat line-backer on that side has the flat to the play side which is a short side of the field
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: corner roles, safety has over the top.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: So we're already starting with the assumption that the most popular play is what they're showing pre-snap and what they're going to play, right?
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: This is to the field side.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: If the corner has nothing to cover in the fat in the flat, he's going to carry.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: There was nobody in the flat.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: If there's nobody in the flat, you think he's sitting, why would he sit?
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: And guard what, grass?
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing out there.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: So he's going to carry.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: So essentially, you have a safety and you have a corner.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: You have the corner carrying, water up, and you have the safety over the top.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: double coverage, played as that was terrible.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: The decision was even worse.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think Julie Hill, Julie Hill might have screwed up on that play.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: It looked to me like he was supposed to release into the flat.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: If it releases into the flat, that might hold a Sonti Samuel for enough space for two to put that ball over his head and maybe you have a completion there.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen him do it before.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: Problem is the rock combination was absolutely terrible.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, next question.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: I know Chris referred to next season as a grenade on the pod, but I'm not sure I agree.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: We have bottom 10 QB play this year and got to six wins.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: Given that Ross has already seen the results of tanky, my guess is he wants to avoid that.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: Well, credible stopgap, QB options do you see that makes sense?
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: And we get credible league average QB play next year.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: And keep all our good players.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see why we can't have a respectable season next year.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: I like two guys in particular.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: Look, Jimmy Garoppolo.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: And you said stopgap remember who said stopgap can they dust them off for one season?
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I like Jimmy Garoppolo.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's a guy who Mike Nathaniel has worked with before and I like Mac Jones.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: If we're talking stopgap options meaning that's it.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's just one year and we have a rookie quarterback until those are my stopgap guys.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: Another guy I do like as a stopgap option and I think he could run the system is Kirk cousins.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: Those are my three stopgap guys.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, Daniel Jones, if healthy, would be one of those guys, but he is not healthy.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think he was returning until midseason next season.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: So he is not really an option.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: Next question, what are your thoughts on Mike McDaniel?
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: Do you personally want a new head coach?
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: Do you prefer to let him continue as the head coach?
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: Great question.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: Let me take a sip of my coffee.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's a fabulous play designer.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: Head coach manager of men.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty good.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: Game day game planning.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think some of his game plans are really, really creative.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: His game day management and flow to play calling.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: Not very good.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: Now, do I personally want to see a new head coach?
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: Man, the one that I, the guy that I, that I wanted here is an LSU, okay?
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's the guy that I would have actively pursued to replace Mike McDake, and of course, that's a link gift that I'm speaking of.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: So, I don't like the pool of, of,
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: had coaches right now.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like the candidates that are out there.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_01]: I really don't.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: So I would lean toward bringing him back, but man, it's getting hard.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's getting hard to make cases to keep him.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: Although you never know, he has non-lives and the national media absolutely loves him.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: What if Quenier was his absolute spectacitor, then he's going to be here?
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: If he went to out of three, he's going to be here.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: What are your thoughts on Kenneth Grant and Jonah's rookie season so far?
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: Look, Jonah Savanna has been better the last six weeks.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: He was not good against the Steelers, by the way.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: Kenneth Grant was not existing against the Steelers, but he's been really good for the most part for the last six weeks as well.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think arrow up on both guys, suspicious on Jonah, pretty excited about Kenneth Grant.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think Kenneth Grant's going to be a good player for this team.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: I like Jordan Phillips, better though.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think Jordan Phillips has star potential.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: And Zikbiggers is a guy who's gonna be in the rotation for a while.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: You just don't find guys that big, that affect the pocket as much as he does.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: Anywhere, okay, and you use the 7th problem, pick to get it.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, I wrote up on all three defensive tackles on Jonah.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm suspicious.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: But I'll give him a chance.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: Next question, please don't tell me champ is going to be the GM.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Look, there's...
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what's wrong with having champ Kelly as the GM the guy guys literally the only thing he's done now if you want to say lucky traded gentleman Phillips and he's an idiot for doing so and that's why I don't want them to as the GM sure but that's literally the only thing he's ever done here like why because he was standing in the building he didn't have an office for the most part in the facility so because he's standing next to the other guy and doing nothing you don't want him as the GM because he's here.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's anything wrong with Champ Kelly.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: Personally, that's not the structure I'm going for.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: I want somebody over Champ Kelly, I want a ZAR.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: I want a president of football operations, all right?
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever that may look like, whether it's an Alex Hallaby or a Lionel Hallaby or a Lewis Riddick or whoever, a Nick Sabin, anything like that.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: And then have a GM under that ZAR.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: Have that be the structure.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: uh... but champ cali i think you have every opportunity to win the job but
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: There's some evidence out there to suggest that he's not going to be considered for the job, but we shall see, right?
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: Next question, what one wrong for two of this year and how has he regressed as much in your honest opinion?
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's been deteriorating physically for two years now, and I think that he has fluctuated from year to year on what he's done with his body, and I think it's taken its toll.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: We do know he got lighter last season.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: Then took the concussion, right?
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: The year before he was heavier, right?
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: This year he tried to do a compromise between the two.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: But his place suffered.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_01]: Last year remember he was coming off of a hip injury that didn't allow him to train for almost two months, right?
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: for fear of reactivating it.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: And if he reactivated it, it was probably going to cut into his OTA time.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: So he took two months off to start the off season, right?
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: And it was a season where he had a concussion.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: So we know that doctors want you to actually take it light in the off season in a season where you had a concussion.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: So how much training did he do?
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he didn't do too much.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he worked on his body too much, either, due to the hip injury, and I think he paid for it this season.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: Next question.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: The GM higher is the key to everything.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: If you pick the right players, you can overcome a lot.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of things including coaching.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: Had we pick Herbert, Herbert, or love, and then Justin Jefferson and Jonathan Taylor, with the other two first founders, Chris Greer, what I win the Super Bowl by now, I have my doubts.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: It would be in line for the Hall of Fame.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: Man, that's pretty good.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: But he liked that vision.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: How can Ross identify someone with the right vision?
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: And instincts when it is both difficult to do, and that he has shown no ability to do it before luck.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay The recipe question is pretty good.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think what questions would you ask a GM candidate ask him for a vision as far as football?
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like what do you think the modern NFL?
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: What does it entail?
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: What kind of defenses do you like to see?
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: Who are you a fan of in the league as far as a
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: Accordinator.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_01]: What kind of schemes do you like?
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: What kind of running game do you like?
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: Do you believe in inside zone running, zone running, gap running?
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: What do you like as far as your schemes?
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: Your passing game?
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think a certain quarterbacks in this league?
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you think are the best quarterbacks in this league?
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you think are the best offensive line coaches in this league?
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you think are the best defensive line coaches in this league?
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: What makes it good offensive line and defensive line coach?
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's those are the questions I would ask to essentially see, you know, to test this guy's football mind.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I would ask.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: And see, what kind of level of thinking this guy's working on?
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the questions I would ask.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: And then the rest of your question is, what qualives are you looking for that go beyond work with how we rose from or something like that?
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, work with how we rose was a pretty good qualification, I think.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: All right, but I want an analytical background, and I would
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: I would essentially get all those resumes stack them up on my desk and then I would hire an intern.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: I would tell one of my interns to come in and say, go through these resumes, the stack of resumes.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: And don't tell me the names because I don't want to be biased in any way or, you know, one way or the other.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I want you to look at every resume that has an analytical or have salary cap background.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: And every resume that has a scouting background, and what I want you to do is get all of the resumes that have a scouting background.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I want you to take them out of my office and set them on fire at the 50 yard line of the practice field.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: Because I don't want to interview any of those guys.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: I want all analytical background guys.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: I want all guys that have worked in the salary cap.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: and the executive side of football.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I want.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want any redundancy in my front office because redundancy creates committees, committees create compromise, compromise creates bad football teams and that's what we had here, too much compromises and not enough accountability.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: Next question, comparing contrast to a versus Quinn physical traits, how different options does this give look to as a rookie, much better physical traits than Quinn yours.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: Quinn yours right now has a better arm and he's obviously he's in better shape physically.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: He can run.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: He can move a little bit.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's not particularly mobile.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: Quinn yours is not a particularly mobile guy.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: You can see on Sunday, okay, his limitations were pretty evident on film in Texas.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: Some people were, you know, had a much better grade than I did.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was a UDFA or seventh rompick and that's what he was.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: I remember a lot of people thinking that I was insane saying that.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people thought he was a day-to-guide.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Again, my issue and maybe I was wrong.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he underachieved with really good Texas teams.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: Really good Texas rosters, but maybe those Texas rosters weren't all that great.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I looked at a great Texas roster and Steve Sarkesian.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: Man, that's a hell of a combination.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think I think he undertook with that.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: And that was my major problem with him.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let me take a few more questions.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: We're going a little long, but I understand it's understandable.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: Only half joking, but one can we talk about Joe Burrow, more seriously, start talking about them now, but probably 2027.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: So if any other players you thought were crap and turned out to be good, is Quinn viewers are bigger than two of us, it's bigger now, but not much bigger.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: You'll see on Sunday, players that I thought were crap that turned out to be good.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Quinn viewers could be one of them, right?
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: uh... i thought jellon hurts was was not going to be a good enough all quarterback and yet he's a good enough all quarterback i'd try to think of somebody else uh... necocallence i wasn't a fan of necocallence
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: and he's been very, very, very good.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's a star-wide receiver.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: Hard to think, but there's a few.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: There's a few.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: I love action, Janty, and I don't think he's been very good as a rookie, but man, he doesn't have a lot of help.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, let me see anybody else anybody else that I thought was crap.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_01]: I usually don't think that guys are crap.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: I like to give them a Little bit of you know, a little bit of grace.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you one thing.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: I guy who I think is crap and is crap Muscraped a tie-in for for the for the packers.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was crap coming out and I think he's crap now I did like Tucker craft and he's pretty damn good to have any one of the best in football, but he's out for the year
- 33:53[SPEAKER_01]: Next question, if one does the scorched earth on Herbert's stop when he wins a Super Bowl on next and I can't stop liking the tweets I have work to do.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when he wins a Super Bowl, I'll stop.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, next question.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: Have you gotten the sense this year that two of us teammates have lost faith in him?
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: No, uh, it's teammates do like him.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: How do you think they privately reacted to Teddy's benching?
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to find out on Sunday.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: This team quits, laser, a complete egg.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: You fire everybody.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: You fire Mike McDaniel, and then you say, okay, these guys are not it.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: They're, they're, they're quitters on top of not being very good football players.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: This is not a very good roster and now they're quitting when they have nothing to play for.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: So, you get rid of them.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: Next question, did J-Rams, Ramsey's mind virus get into two of us?
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how I feel about that, but the leaders of the 2014 people, and I've said this to people before, the leaders of the 2014, you obviously had a leader in Tehran Armstead, but other than that, the leaders of that team were Jellon Ramsey, Tuatunga Baloa, and Tairi Kill.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: Those were the leaders of that team.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: What does that tell you about that team in 2024?
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: For whatever reason, Tuat has always gravitated to the Jellon Ramsey's the examined
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: Next pick next question, would you consider trading a late pick with tour with tour to Green Bay from Aliquelis and some capital leaf Green Bay can't afford tour so they can't take them and they wouldn't take them for ten million dollars either as a backup It's too much money I like Maliquelis a little bit Not too much
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: next question hey after you think of elevating field weeks from the practice squad could be a good idea He and yours seems to have a good connection in the preseason and it could help with reducing Nick Westbrook a keenest snaps.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, Nick Westbrook a keen.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: He shouldn't play anymore period We need that fourth wrong pick
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a good idea, especially if you're going to get rid of Nick Westbrook aka, so yeah, I feel he has good, good rapport with Queen Eorys bring him up bring up Taj Washington as well.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see some of these young guys, not feel, I wouldn't get too excited.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: I know Taj Washington had a bad time in that Ravens game, but I think he has some some notable skills for the NFL level.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: Theo Weesman, he's a 50-50 ball guy.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: I've never seen him gain separation.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even in training cap, none of the previous games You know, he just as a strikeman as a guy who's gonna it was gonna be a performer at this level Taj Washington, I think has some chops to do well in the NFL.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: Although he did have you know terrible debut
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: Um, per bury the open Sanders practice window.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's another thing that we reported on or I reported on only fence.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_01]: His Davis Mills worth a trade and he's one to think about.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: He was pretty good as a start on a bad Houston team and has looked good and relief of strad if we're looking for a diamond in the rough type.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: I like him.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: Not a bad idea.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty decent idea.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: We'll take two more questions.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think Jordan Brooks is the unquestionable leader of this team?
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and it's so highly doubt that they quit Man, he's one man Can he whip and and And prod this team
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: to performing.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of people he has to get in their faces to get them the playball.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: We shall see man, Sunday is going to be absolutely fascinating.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: Next question, do you think they should be cutting a chance workload now that they're out of the playoff?
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, generally right should be getting the ball more.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'll eat Gordon should be getting the ball more.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: A chance should be
- 37:41[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't say we'd do some to a third-down back, but he should have a limit of roll.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like his touches, like before, you always wanted 20, like that was the number.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like on your play call sheet, you had to write the number 20 out with a Sharpie, because that's the number of touches that Devon HN needed to get.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you write 20 on your play sheet anymore.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: Right 15 on it.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: Get him some touches in the passing game.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, we'll preserve him now for these last three games.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing to play for really, you know, except a little pride and maybe you want that record to look a little bit better But you want to develop the young guys, so you want to play the young guys play general right play all the Gordon.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: There is no more.
