- 0:33Speaker 2: Hey, Mark, Good to be with you now. I'm not
- 0:35Speaker 2: doing well. I spent so much time in the last
- 0:37Speaker 2: four days at the airport. This flight castle, that flight castle, delays.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It's just been a complete havoc. And now I hear
- 0:46Speaker 2: that it's probably going to go on for even another
- 0:47Speaker 2: two weeks, even now that they're finally about to reopen
- 0:51Speaker 2: the government. It's just been chaotic. And by the way, Mark,
- 0:55Speaker 2: what exactly did Chuck Schumer achieve from this? I mean
- 0:58Speaker 2: really nothing. I mean it was fifty six billion dollars
- 1:03Speaker 2: of lost tax payer money, caused mayhem, turmoil, frustration for
- 1:07Speaker 2: people around the country and he got nothing.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Well, did he get nothing? Or was the whole idea
- 1:13Speaker 1: just to screw up the Trump economy a little, maybe.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Screw up the old Well maybe that would be a
- 1:19Speaker 2: very nefarious motivation, you know, if he intentionally sabotaged the
- 1:24Speaker 2: economy to make Trump look bad. But I guess that's
- 1:26Speaker 2: what politicians do this these days. And you know, shame
- 1:29Speaker 2: on him because it really did ruin our whole weekend.
- 1:32Speaker 2: My wife and I we're gonna have a little retreat,
- 1:33Speaker 2: you know, get away for three or four days. We
- 1:35Speaker 2: spent half the weekend in the airports, and people were
- 1:38Speaker 2: so angry all over you know, everywhere we went. And
- 1:42Speaker 2: what a way to score political points is to is
- 1:45Speaker 2: to inconvenience people all over the country.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Well, if you look back fourteen shutdowns, no party has
- 1:52Speaker 1: ever gained anything from a shutdown the shutdown caucuses, Oh
- 1:56Speaker 1: for fourteen, isn't it? It never does anything?
- 1:59Speaker 2: Well, that's right. And what and by the way, you
- 2:01Speaker 2: know what what what Chucky Schumer wanted was to you know,
- 2:06Speaker 2: allow the legal immigrants to get healthcare benefits, to add
- 2:09Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty billion dollars a year in cost
- 2:13Speaker 2: to the federal government when we're already running two trillion
- 2:15Speaker 2: dollar deficits. I mean, it was outrageous demands and he
- 2:19Speaker 2: was basically holding the government hostage until in Trump, to
- 2:23Speaker 2: his credit, did not blink. Here he said, you know,
- 2:25Speaker 2: screw you, We're not We're not going to cave into
- 2:28Speaker 2: your blackmail. Uh. And I think Americans should be very
- 2:31Speaker 2: angry about what happened. And that's fifty six to sixty
- 2:35Speaker 2: billion dollars billion with a B that was lost to
- 2:38Speaker 2: taxpayers because of the cost of the shutdown.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Now, Steve Moore, am, I right, Obamacare is a total failure.
- 2:45Speaker 1: If it wasn't, why did you need If it's affordable,
- 2:47Speaker 1: why would you need subsidies?
- 2:50Speaker 2: You know it is. It would be hard to come
- 2:53Speaker 2: up with something stupider than what we have today. And more,
- 2:56Speaker 2: it's so expensive we pay through the WAHOO with the
- 3:00Speaker 2: with all of these costs, and since we passed Obamacare,
- 3:05Speaker 2: which was supposed to be the Affordable Care Act, the
- 3:08Speaker 2: cost of health insurance is doubled and tripled for most Americans.
- 3:12Speaker 2: You know, it's costing the average family now thirty thousand
- 3:14Speaker 2: dollars a year for healthcare. That's a lot of money,
- 3:18Speaker 2: and so we've got to figure out a better way
- 3:19Speaker 2: to do this. Trump has some very good ideas. I mean,
- 3:22Speaker 2: you know, let's just move to more of a catastrophic
- 3:25Speaker 2: insurance model, where you would, you know, for the first say,
- 3:29Speaker 2: five thousand dollars of costs, you know, you just pay
- 3:31Speaker 2: out of pocket, but you're not going to pay thirty
- 3:33Speaker 2: thousand dollars a year for insurance, and everybody would come
- 3:36Speaker 2: out ahead. I mean, when you go to the doctor
- 3:38Speaker 2: or the hospital mark, you know, do you ask what
- 3:42Speaker 2: it's going to cost?
- 3:44Speaker 1: No, nobody does, and then you're in there for five
- 3:47Speaker 1: minutes and the bills forty thousand dollars.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, can you imagine if we all went
- 3:52Speaker 2: to the grocery store and didn't pay for it, I'd
- 3:55Speaker 2: have lobster and steak and champagne every night.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Yeah. But the real reason for this is Obamacare and
- 4:01Speaker 1: the reason Democrats fight to keep it. The money goes
- 4:04Speaker 1: directly to the insurance companies from the government. Yes, so
- 4:08Speaker 1: what do we do about that? How are you going
- 4:09Speaker 1: to break that model?
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yeah? The insurance companies have become the real villains here.
- 4:14Speaker 2: So when they know they wanted these expansions, of Obamacare subsidies,
- 4:18Speaker 2: which is going to cost hundreds of billions of dollars.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Guess where seventy percent of the money goes?
- 4:23Speaker 1: Insurance companies.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Yeah, insurance companies they just put in the bank, so
- 4:28Speaker 2: they're making so much money hand over fists. And they
- 4:32Speaker 2: were the chief lobbyert. They were the group that, more
- 4:35Speaker 2: than any other group on Capitol Hill was lobbying for
- 4:38Speaker 2: these extensions because they have made a fortune off of Obamacare,
- 4:43Speaker 2: whereas there's no evidence that Obamacare has had any positive
- 4:46Speaker 2: impact on people's health.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey, Steve More, let me ask you another question.
- 4:50Speaker 1: If you are watching TV, listening to radio, reading stuff,
- 4:54Speaker 1: going to the news sets, and all you hear about
- 4:55Speaker 1: is the affordability crisis. This is all you hear a
- 4:58Speaker 1: thousand times an hour, You're going to start to think
- 5:01Speaker 1: there is an affordability crisis. It propaganda works that way.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Well, there isn't affordability crisis. There's no question about it.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I mean, prices are up, you know, thirty percent since
- 5:12Speaker 2: Joe Biden was present. Thirty percent. It's unbelievable. Now, guess
- 5:16Speaker 2: what twenty five percent of that thirty percent was under Biden.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I mean, you know, so I'm angry about the cost
- 5:22Speaker 2: of groceries. I'm angry about the cost of you know,
- 5:25Speaker 2: buying things. Today, it's health insurance costs, housing cost, grocery
- 5:30Speaker 2: costs up up, up, up up. But folks, remember the
- 5:33Speaker 2: vast majority of this insurance, of this inflation and higher
- 5:37Speaker 2: costs and higher interest rates was under Biden because he's
- 5:40Speaker 2: spent about five billion dollars we didn't have with this
- 5:43Speaker 2: massive spending spree. So we are seeing costs come down.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I mean, you know, the rate of inflation come down.
- 5:49Speaker 2: It was remember when it hit nine point one percent
- 5:51Speaker 2: under Inflace under Biden. That was in I think twenty
- 5:55Speaker 2: twenty one, twenty two. You know, now it's down to
- 5:57Speaker 2: about two point eight percent, which is still too high.
- 6:00Speaker 2: You know, we'd like to bring it down some more.
- 6:02Speaker 2: But Trump is doing that. The inflation rate is coming down.
- 6:06Speaker 2: But remember, you know, he's only been in office for
- 6:09Speaker 2: nine months and Biden, we just blew a hole in
- 6:13Speaker 2: the budget in the inflation rate, and it's going to
- 6:16Speaker 2: take some time. But by the way, I was traveling
- 6:18Speaker 2: last week, as I mentioned, and I was in the
- 6:21Speaker 2: Midwest for a couple of days. Two sixty nine a
- 6:23Speaker 2: gallon for gas. Yeah, that's the last time you saw that.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't see it in New York at California.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But in between, gas prices are ready down, and I mean,
- 6:34Speaker 1: it's just a mess. But inflation is down since Trump
- 6:37Speaker 1: took over, and you always said it is. You always
- 6:40Speaker 1: said it's going to take him a year or so
- 6:41Speaker 1: to really fix the problem. So we're only about halfway there,
- 6:44Speaker 1: right right, And.
- 6:47Speaker 2: But look we have the numbers, and what's happened to
- 6:50Speaker 2: people's real income? In other words, when you take inflation
- 6:53Speaker 2: into account, people things are more affordable today for most people,
- 6:58Speaker 2: not less affordable. So the average family about twelve hundred
- 7:00Speaker 2: dollars more after inflation income. Another point I want to
- 7:05Speaker 2: make about this is that, you know, the big beautiful
- 7:08Speaker 2: tax bill we passed, most Americans have not felt the
- 7:11Speaker 2: effect of that yet because they didn't change their withholding
- 7:14Speaker 2: on their taxes. So what that means, and Trump has
- 7:16Speaker 2: made this point you know several times. Next year, Next year,
- 7:21Speaker 2: people are going to see a big reduction and the
- 7:23Speaker 2: taxes withheld from their paychecks because they didn't do it
- 7:26Speaker 2: this year. So you know, relief is coming, folks.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey, Steve Moore in Florida. Ron DeSantis. He's talking
- 7:35Speaker 1: about getting rid of property tax, and he's saying that
- 7:37Speaker 1: everybody should, everywhere, every state, get rid of property tax.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And he makes the point, it's your land, you own it.
- 7:45Speaker 1: How's the government taxing you on this? But then what
- 7:47Speaker 1: do you do to make up for that needed money?
- 7:51Speaker 1: You have growth?
- 7:51Speaker 2: You know, I mean Florida has imported one trillion dollars
- 7:55Speaker 2: of capital from and disposable income from other states. And
- 8:00Speaker 2: guess where most of that money is coming from? New York,
- 8:04Speaker 2: New York, New York and California. And so they have
- 8:07Speaker 2: so much money coming in that they're able to cut
- 8:10Speaker 2: their you know, Florida has no income tax, and now
- 8:12Speaker 2: they're cutting their property tax. They've cut this tax, that tax.
- 8:14Speaker 2: The only tax that's kind of high in there are
- 8:16Speaker 2: sales tax, but everything else is pretty low. It's a
- 8:20Speaker 2: very affordable state. That's the other thing about the affordability issue,
- 8:23Speaker 2: Mark that you were asking me about. Yeah, if you
- 8:24Speaker 2: live in New York, everything's expensive. If you move to
- 8:27Speaker 2: a red state, things cost a lot less. Why because
- 8:30Speaker 2: they have high taxes in the blue states, they have
- 8:33Speaker 2: high regulations, they have you know, energy costs are much
- 8:37Speaker 2: higher in the blue states. So if you want more
- 8:40Speaker 2: affordability and you want your paycheck to go further, move
- 8:43Speaker 2: to a red state.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I'm not leaving. I'm staying right here.
- 8:47Speaker 2: How do you I know you're not? You know, we
- 8:51Speaker 2: need you there in New York and that in Northeast.
- 8:54Speaker 2: But a lot of people are and the problem is
- 8:56Speaker 2: that that tide will increase dramatically. I had a piece
- 9:01Speaker 2: of New York post on this the other day that
- 9:02Speaker 2: you know, if Mondami does what he said he's going
- 9:05Speaker 2: to do and continues to raise the tax rate, you know,
- 9:09Speaker 2: I think sixteen percent they want, Well, you can go
- 9:11Speaker 2: to Florida or Texas pay zero. You know, people don't
- 9:15Speaker 2: get rich by being stupid, right, and they're not stupid
- 9:18Speaker 2: if they see, Hey, I could pay sixteen percent in
- 9:20Speaker 2: New York or zero in Florida. What do you think
- 9:22Speaker 2: you'd do, Especially if you're a billionaire. I could save
- 9:25Speaker 2: one hundred million dollars a year by moving to you know, Florida. Unfortunately,
- 9:29Speaker 2: a lot of the billionaires are going to leave, and
- 9:32Speaker 2: then who's Mondomi going to get the tax money from?
- 9:35Speaker 1: Well, at least he's going to solve the traffic problem.
- 9:39Speaker 1: The good luck, will be dress.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Well.
