- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Fierazzo.
- 0:19Hi, guys.
- 0:21Welcome.
- 0:22What a week it's been.
- 0:23Great guest.
- 0:24I've got another one today.
- 0:25We're going out to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and we're going to catch up with Pastor
- 0:28Steve Smotherman, one of my favorite Patriot pastors, if you want to put it that way.
- 0:33He's an author, senior pastor of Legacy Church in Albuquerque, and he refuses to compromise
- 0:39on God's word, including critical issues of faith, truth, and religious freedom.
- 0:43And that's refreshing compared to a lot of churches today.
- 0:47Steve and his wife, Cynthia, have three children and eight grandkids, and we're just
- 0:51blessed to have them back on World View Matters, or actually for the first time.
- 0:54Steve, welcome to the program.
- 0:56Hi.
- 0:57Well, it's an honor to be here.
- 0:59Thank you for having me.
- 1:00I love what you do.
- 1:01I love your fight.
- 1:02I love your stance, and we need more people like you in the world and in the United States
- 1:08and with believers.
- 1:10So thank you.
- 1:11Hey, man.
- 1:12Well, kindred spirits, brother.
- 1:13I love what you do.
- 1:14That's why we connect, and let's go back to Liberty Pastors.
- 1:18We met, I think, two or three years ago in Dallas, Texas, or it might have been Edmund
- 1:22Oklahoma, I think it was Dallas, and it was so refreshing that I mean, I've had Trevor
- 1:28Loudon on, and of course, Alex Newman is a colleague of ours here.
- 1:32But we've had a lot of people from Liberty Pastors.
- 1:36Are you still speaking out there doing different events for Liberty Pastors, because now you
- 1:41know you guys have a lot of satellite churches or other churches from legacy there in New
- 1:46Mexico.
- 1:47What have you been doing?
- 1:48Well, we've just been in New Mexico fighting and continue to say, hey, we're never going
- 1:56to submit to anything but our biblical worldview.
- 1:59And so New Mexico is at the center of so much stuff, you know, bad stuff.
- 2:04We just, I'm a, I still talked to all those guys, you know, Dr. Scarborough, Paul Belair.
- 2:11I talked to them.
- 2:12We do some things together, and so I'm proud of what they're doing also.
- 2:16So before we get to one of the things I watched when you were going through this battle
- 2:21for the, of the second amendment with your governor, as really, really an interesting
- 2:27time there.
- 2:28And this is state by state battle, and you know, incredibly blue state there in New Mexico.
- 2:33Let's talk about legacy academy, because we always like to point out churches and organizations
- 2:39that are trying to help teach kids, disciple kids, biblical worldview, truth, and get
- 2:44away from the government run education centers.
- 2:47So tell us a little bit about legacy academy, Steve.
- 2:51Legacy academy is obviously a Christian school.
- 2:53It's a discipleship school.
- 2:55So the only kids allowed in it have to be like-minded believers.
- 2:59If you're, you can say, well, I go to this thing.
- 3:01If it's not like-minded, we don't let you in.
- 3:04And I believe people are paying not just for the education, but the environment.
- 3:09And so we were very protective of our culture.
- 3:12And so we started legacy academy, I think around 15 years ago, maybe 16.
- 3:17And we only had K-4 through 8th grade.
- 3:20And then we just moved up the high school ranks.
- 3:22And so this will be, I think, our fourth graduating senior class.
- 3:27And so we have football teams.
- 3:29We have basketball teams, great volleyball teams.
- 3:32And we're teaching our kids to have a biblical worldview.
- 3:38So one of the things I wanted to ask you and let you share with our listeners is
- 3:42there's so many fights that you've been involved in with your governor, very liberal,
- 3:49some might say, Marxist, leftist.
- 3:51Is it Michelle Grisham?
- 3:52Is that her name?
- 3:54Sure.
- 3:55So we were going through COVID.
- 3:58And was one of the churches you were trying to stay open.
- 4:01You were trying to hold services.
- 4:02You had a lawsuit or maybe two lawsuits because they were trying to tell you when you
- 4:07could worship, how you could worship, how many people you could have in the sanctuary.
- 4:11Tell us a little bit about that background in your history of battles with this governor
- 4:15that a lot of pastors won't do.
- 4:19Well, our governor came out and said that we, you know, her first statement when COVID
- 4:25happened was, don't go to neighborhood associations or churches.
- 4:29I'm watching this.
- 4:30And that's when the fight began.
- 4:32The fight actually began at that moment.
- 4:34I'm watching on TV.
- 4:35And I said, did she just say we're the same as the neighborhood association?
- 4:39And who even detends those?
- 4:41And she put us in the same category because she has a disdain for the church and disdain
- 4:46for the kingdom.
- 4:48And from that point on, we fought.
- 4:49I just said, I'm not going to yield to him.
- 4:51I'm not going to submit.
- 4:52She at one time said you couldn't have but five people in your whole church.
- 4:56So in our, like our central campus, our biggest, we have 155,000 square feet of space.
- 5:01You can only have five people in there.
- 5:03You wouldn't even know if there was five people around if they were spread out.
- 5:07And so she just continued to do that.
- 5:09So we said, we're not going to submit to this.
- 5:11We're going to stay open.
- 5:13And we fought back and we took it to federal court twice.
- 5:16Then it went to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
- 5:18And we actually ended up winning the whole thing.
- 5:21We did what we wanted.
- 5:22She never messed with us.
- 5:23We didn't pay any fines that she gave us.
- 5:26And so we won, but the news media would never tell you we won.
- 5:30Yeah.
- 5:31I think we're losing.
- 5:33We've interviewed some brothers, pastors up in Canada, Tim Stevens and James Coates.
- 5:40They kept their churches open during COVID.
- 5:42They actually had to go to prison.
- 5:45And this battle that we never thought we'd really see here in America, it's here because
- 5:50a lot of churches are still dealing with some of the fallout from that, you know, leftist
- 5:54governors and mayors trying to, you know, tell the churches, no, you can't be open.
- 5:59They're killing babies down the street.
- 6:00The Planned Parenthood clinic and they're, they're keeping the bars open and home deep.
- 6:05Oh, and Starbucks and other places.
- 6:07Anyway, Steve, I know you would like to speak on that.
- 6:09But let's talk about the silent pulpits on moral issues.
- 6:14And let's go over and mention, oh, wait a minute, before we do that, because I want to talk
- 6:17about what happened in Ohio with the recent elections and the pro life losses really sad.
- 6:23But I don't mean to have millions and millions of dollars come in from out of state, but your
- 6:27second amendment battle with your governor there, that was earlier this year.
- 6:32It was unconstitutional.
- 6:33How did that all play out?
- 6:34Tell us what happened with that.
- 6:36So what happened was she, she came out and said because we've had some murders that
- 6:41the only way to combat this is to take guns away from all law-biting citizens.
- 6:46And you cannot conceal care, you cannot care, you cannot do anything.
- 6:51Until we get this murder thing, you know, lowered.
- 6:58And so, and then she said, your rights are not absolute on the Constitution.
- 7:03I have the right, she said, to remove those rights.
- 7:06And when she said that, I'm like, no, our rights are absolute.
- 7:10And you as a governor don't have the authority to tell me what to do.
- 7:12So I got up immediately and said, guys, I hope nobody honors this.
- 7:16I hope nobody does what she says.
- 7:18And I know they watch our live streaming.
- 7:20This is over live streaming.
- 7:22Carry your guns, do what you think you need to do.
- 7:24But it's for me, I'm going to do what I want to do.
- 7:26She's not going to dictate to me.
- 7:28She became a laughing stock, really, of the country, even CNN got after a little bit,
- 7:33which I thought was awesome, because they said, but this is not constitutional.
- 7:38And she goes, we're going to, we're going to deal with this murder rate.
- 7:41And so she actually said, they said, they actually asked her, do you think the criminals
- 7:46are going to abide by this?
- 7:47And she said, no.
- 7:48So she wanted to arm the criminals criminals and disarm good citizens, law-biting citizens.
- 7:55What could go wrong?
- 7:56So, wait a minute, worlds are colliding.
- 7:58Worlds are colliding.
- 7:59If you said that CNN came criticize to her, I mean, there's far left as you can get.
- 8:05And she was on there with them and they said, isn't this uncomfortable?
- 8:08I mean, I watched it.
- 8:09I laughed.
- 8:10I'm like, they're not even agreeing.
- 8:11And all she did was overtalk them because she's so awful.
- 8:15And I labeled her over the last three years, the wicked witch of the North, and people
- 8:20thought I was being mean and vicious.
- 8:22And then someone finally made a bumper sticker that, through the election, it says, ditch
- 8:26the witch.
- 8:27So I said, see, it's catching on, but she is a satanist, she's narcissistic.
- 8:31And when someone that's in our government that's as public servant tells us that our rights
- 8:38are not absolute, I have a big problem with that.
- 8:41So Steve, I want you to speak to our viewers right now.
- 8:46Some of them might be thinking, wow, we haven't heard a pastor address a public official
- 8:52like that or that directly, you know, maybe they're just not used to seeing that.
- 8:59I mean, we need a lot more of it.
- 9:00But how would you respond to people that go, is that the pastor's role to step up and question
- 9:06the government?
- 9:07It is absolutely a role.
- 9:11Even when our revolution happened, you know, over 200 years ago, it was the pastors
- 9:15who led most of those battles.
- 9:17They're the ones that let's go fight.
- 9:19The problem with our prosperity is we've gotten weak.
- 9:23And so when you stand up and do what I do, it's an anomaly.
- 9:26It's like, well, we're not used to it.
- 9:28Yeah, but just because you know, when you have a problem with the truth, you shouldn't
- 9:33blame the truth, you should blame the lies you've been believing the whole time.
- 9:37And so we, you know, so when people say that, I said, well, who's supposed to stand
- 9:41up and fight?
- 9:42Aren't we the moral compass of this country?
- 9:44Aren't we the protectors of our biblical worldview and the Constitution that gives
- 9:48us a right to worship God any way we want?
- 9:52We need to beat fighters.
- 9:53We need to stand up and say, listen, we're never going to submit to this kind of ungodliness
- 10:00and violation of my constitutional rights that my dad personally gave his life for as he
- 10:06served in the military.
- 10:08That's right.
- 10:09And boy, we have seen an infringement on our rights and especially religious freedom
- 10:13in the last several years that we've never seen before in this country.
- 10:17I think a lot of people really weren't ready for it.
- 10:20But it built up to this point because in part of the silent pulpits.
- 10:26And I praise God for you and your voice and you're not silent about these issues.
- 10:30In fact, we can tell a story.
- 10:32We talked about this before on the radio that, at least in one case, you told them about
- 10:38a woman that you have in this conversation about pro life versus pro choice.
- 10:41And she was pro abortion.
- 10:44And you, how did you put it?
- 10:45You asked her, well, what are you doing at this church then?
- 10:48Could you share that story?
- 10:49Do you remember that?
- 10:50Oh, yeah.
- 10:51We had a conversation and she said, I don't care what you believe.
- 10:54I don't care what the Bible says.
- 10:56I believe in abortion.
- 10:58And I believe in a woman's right to choose.
- 11:00And I actually said to her, I said, if you believe that this conversation's over and
- 11:04I don't, you no longer need to ever come back here.
- 11:07Wow.
- 11:08Wow.
- 11:09That is such a misinterpretation of scripture.
- 11:13How can you not value human life in mother's wombs if you are a Bible believing, born
- 11:20again, Christian, a believer, true believer now.
- 11:23If you know what scripture teaches, there is so much ignorance out there.
- 11:26Because that, I'll tell you what, that's good marketing to Pastor Steve.
- 11:28The marketing of evil has been so successful in this country.
- 11:32We got to take a quick break, but we're going to talk about what happened in Ohio with
- 11:36the recent elections there.
- 11:37Some pro life losses.
- 11:38And never want to talk about the new house speaker, Michael Johnson.
- 11:42We'll talk about that with Pastor Steve Smotherman on World View Matters in just a minute.
- 11:47Today's show is brought to you by Harbinger's Daily.
- 11:50World News Bidlically Understood.
- 11:53Stay informed at harbingersdaily.com.
- 12:03All right.
- 12:04This is Fall.
- 12:05We're in fundraising season.
- 12:07This is a new show.
- 12:08So I've got a mug here that they told me about that you guys can get if you are willing
- 12:12to donate to our nonprofit organization here, World View Matters at Freedom Project.
- 12:18There it is.
- 12:19There are actually two mugs in that picture.
- 12:21But if you can give $25 a month, you get this mug that says, World View Matters on one side
- 12:28and the other side it says, keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
- 12:32That's my tagline.
- 12:34Or if you can give a one time donation of $200, it is tax deductible.
- 12:38So Worldview Matters.tv on that side and then keep speaking the truth about things that
- 12:44matter.
- 12:45Back to Pastor Steve Smotherman.
- 12:46Ohio.
- 12:47What happened?
- 12:49Well, we can't say for sure that Ohio citizens are on board with this, but the vote was
- 12:5557% to 43% that a ton of leftist money coming in including George Soros, $3.5 million
- 13:07from the open society policy center, George Soros and others, millions of dollars marketing
- 13:12the fact that women will be forced to use a coat hanger in the back alley if they wanted
- 13:17to have a portion of this goes through and this and that so that people too many believe
- 13:22the lies and Steve, just like in New Mexico there when it comes to this legislation, I'm
- 13:27sorry, elections have consequences.
- 13:30So what are your thoughts on what happened in Ohio and this is a state by state battle
- 13:34now since Roe V Wade was overturned?
- 13:37Well, my thought is that the reason we keep losing these things, you know, in our race
- 13:43here in governor, we lost because the guy running thought it was okay to kill a baby after
- 13:48five, six or seven weeks, which is still abortion and that's what these people keep saying.
- 13:53Well, you know, I think the governor in Virginia, I think 15 weeks is okay.
- 13:57The problem with it, it doesn't engage us because we're, there's so many people like
- 14:02me who will never vote for a candidate that believes in killing babies ever.
- 14:07Thank you.
- 14:08And so it keeps them at home on our governor's race.
- 14:11The Republicans didn't come out of the Conservatives didn't come out and vote because they said
- 14:14they're both abortionists and I think our messaging is wrong.
- 14:18I think we need to hold fast, say all abortion is wrong.
- 14:22You know, it's it's murder, they talk about the case of rape, incest, the death of a mother,
- 14:27which is less than one percent, probably of one percent of all abortions down in America.
- 14:32And I think we just need to message it.
- 14:35This is a lie.
- 14:36We keep calling it abortion.
- 14:37We should call it murder because that's what it is.
- 14:40The left wants to use nice words so it doesn't seem as harsh.
- 14:44And I think on our side, we just need to stand up and say, this is our message unapologetically.
- 14:51This is what we believe and we will never back off from it because then that that emboldened
- 14:56that emboldened people to stand up and say, if he's willing to stand up, I'm willing
- 15:00to stand up.
- 15:01If she's willing to stand up, I will, but when you when you kind of blur the lines, then
- 15:05it's like, what's going to motivate me to come out?
- 15:08Yeah.
- 15:09They've done a good sales job, snow job, reproductive health or reproductive freedom, women's choice.
- 15:17But you know what?
- 15:18The Latin meaning to the word fetus is little one or offspring.
- 15:24We're talking about human life.
- 15:25It is not a potential human human life.
- 15:28It is a human life that has potential.
- 15:31Anyway, I'll get off that soapbox, but it took $35 million in out of state funding for
- 15:37Ohio and ads filled with fear and a lot of deception to push through this.
- 15:43The most radical abortion agenda in the country now, this will cement late term abortion in
- 15:49the Ohio Constitution, strip parents of their rights and wipe out health and safety protections
- 15:55for women.
- 15:56So a lot of money went into this.
- 15:59Money in itself isn't evil, but the love of money and what you use it for, money, the
- 16:04love of money, the root of all evil, we're seeing that right here, Steve, a lot of lies
- 16:08through the campaign ads, fear about what they were trying to push, but it works in Ohio.
- 16:14I hope other states will learn from it.
- 16:17What are your thoughts on what we can glean from, what, what not to do?
- 16:20Because I think a lot of Americans, Steve and Christians, conservatives, Republicans,
- 16:25even some independents were tired of the political ping pong.
- 16:29We want abortion, we want it out loud.
- 16:32We don't want any abortion.
- 16:33Of course, I don't know if it'll ever get to that point.
- 16:35In the meantime, we've got to fight these battles, your thoughts.
- 16:38Well, I think we, you know, when it comes to what we learned and what we glean is that,
- 16:44you know, when, when you were talking about all the things, this thing, this vote, you
- 16:49know, constituted the, the taken away rights of parents and all that, that's what we need
- 16:54to come and say, listen, if there was, this was about a woman's right to choose and that's
- 16:58all it's about them.
- 16:59Why do they add all this other stuff?
- 17:01We have to be smart enough and, and again, when I say smart enough, we have to be so unapologetic
- 17:07of our beliefs.
- 17:09We just need to stand up and say, this is what we believe, like it or not.
- 17:12That's what the world does.
- 17:13This is what we believe, like it or not, and we don't like it, but, but there's not
- 17:17much to do.
- 17:18So I think what we need to do is message, the message needs to be clear.
- 17:22This is a lie.
- 17:23We need to say it's a lie.
- 17:24It's not about reproductive services.
- 17:26It's not about a woman's right to choose.
- 17:28This is about the human life.
- 17:30Do babies have a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?
- 17:34And do parents have a right to raise their children or train their children the way they
- 17:38choose to?
- 17:39In America, we do.
- 17:41And so I think our messaging just has to be so clear and concise and unapologetic.
- 17:50This is what we believe.
- 17:51And we have to engage and we have to, you know, let people know the lies, the deception.
- 17:57And I have yet to find someone that's really out there willing to do that.
- 18:02Yeah.
- 18:03We've got to fight on our hands, friends.
- 18:04We are still fighting for life.
- 18:05And more ways than one, souls, spiritual life, but also life in the womb, that will continue.
- 18:13So let's switch gears here now.
- 18:14I want to talk a little bit about what your thoughts on the new house speaker, Mike Johnson,
- 18:18because I've got an article here and many others came out like this, Democrats blast
- 18:23new house speaker for unabashedly holding to a biblical worldview.
- 18:29So Steve, I'm thankful.
- 18:31It's like to me, he came out of nowhere.
- 18:33I wasn't aware of who Mike Johnson was, but I've been pleasantly surprised what I've
- 18:38read about him.
- 18:40He is definitely pro-life, he's, you know, pro-family pro-marriage.
- 18:45He's even got a covenant eyes on his computer and him and his son, trying to keep away from
- 18:51pornography and they're making fun of him for that.
- 18:54So the left is coming after him, not because of any of his policies, because of his worldview.
- 19:00Surprise, surprise.
- 19:01What thoughts and what you know about this guy?
- 19:03Well, I don't know much more than you, but I hear what I do.
- 19:06I do like him.
- 19:07And when Mitch McConnell begins to attack him, I like him even more.
- 19:11And you know, it's just what the Bible says, that we will, if you stand up for what you
- 19:16believe, you know, they're going to attack you.
- 19:18You know, when you can't at all joy, when you fall into these things, the trials, the
- 19:22temptations, the persecution.
- 19:24And so I just, I'm glad, I'm finally glad we have someone that's uncompromising that
- 19:30we'll stand up for the truth.
- 19:32And we need to pray for him.
- 19:34I'm very grateful.
- 19:35And like you, I'd never heard of him.
- 19:37I thought it was going to be Jordan, thought it was going to be a, you know, Scalise or somebody.
- 19:42When they rejected them, I'm like, how do you reject Jordan?
- 19:45I mean, he leases a fighter and when, and they went with someone that I truly believe
- 19:51that God is put in such a time as this.
- 19:54And he needs our prayers.
- 19:55And apparently he already knows the system.
- 19:58So he didn't care what they say.
- 19:59If you're being attacked, if you're anybody watching a pastor or anybody, if you're being
- 20:03attacked by the left, you're doing your job.
- 20:05Yeah.
- 20:06I want to talk about something you said.
- 20:08God raises men up.
- 20:11And who knows what's going to happen, but God is sovereign over leaders.
- 20:15I think Daniel, chapter two says God raises up kings and removes kings.
- 20:22And he is sovereign over all these things.
- 20:24More scriptures talk about this.
- 20:26And Steve, it's very interesting that sometimes for such a time, we need certain leaders.
- 20:31And it's obviously clear in America.
- 20:33And of course, in the church, we haven't had godly leaders that have been bold enough
- 20:39to stand their ground.
- 20:40I mean, we don't know what's going to happen, but hopefully, you know, he will.
- 20:44But here's one thing he, I apparently used to be with Alliance Defending Freedom.
- 20:50He served as a senior counsel for ADF.
- 20:54It's a conservative legal powerhouse, if you don't know.
- 20:56And they were actually behind the overturning of Roe v. Wade and a lot of other great cases.
- 21:02But he supported the federal heartbeat law.
- 21:06And they call him an anti-abortion, mega extremist.
- 21:11And as you say, Steve's mother man, that's a badge of honor, right?
- 21:14It is.
- 21:15Listen, people tell me all the time, well, I go to church, my church never criticized.
- 21:19So here's what I tell them, and I do it as nice I can.
- 21:21That's because your church doesn't stand for anything.
- 21:24This is bottom line.
- 21:25I don't care.
- 21:26Well, my church, we never get any press or whatever.
- 21:29I said, it's because you don't stand for anything.
- 21:31If you're going to stand up in this wicked, lost world, this fallen world with the scriptures,
- 21:37the gospel, talking about Jesus, you are going to be persecuted.
- 21:41We just have to know that we're going to get punched sometimes and we just got to get
- 21:44back up and answer the bell.
- 21:46That's all we got to do.
- 21:50So Mike Johnson, apparently, is a Southern Baptist, I think I read something like that.
- 21:54That's, you know, with the church background, he comes from the denomination.
- 21:58And he says this, I don't believe there are any coincidences.
- 22:03I believe that scripture, the Bible is very clear that God is the one who raises up those
- 22:08in authority.
- 22:09He raised up each one of you, all of us.
- 22:12And I believe that God has ordained and allowed each one of us to be brought here for this
- 22:16specific moment and this time.
- 22:20Steve, we need godly men, more leaders in our churches.
- 22:24And boy, let's just start right there.
- 22:27We've really seen a lot of people just back off from what they consider, quote, political
- 22:32issues by political, I mean abortion, homosexuality, socialism, Marxism, those are political issues,
- 22:42right?
- 22:43And we've got some thoughts on that and how we can try to encourage more godly men to
- 22:46get into leadership.
- 22:47Well, I, here's the issue I see the reason that we don't is because too many people don't
- 22:54believe in the transformational power of God to change a life.
- 22:59What is the Bible talk about that, you know, when we get in the last days, people have
- 23:03a form of godliness, but deny the very power of God.
- 23:06What are they denying?
- 23:07The very power of God to change lives.
- 23:09So when we deal with homosexuality here, we say, listen, you can come in here and be
- 23:14anything you want.
- 23:15You can come as you are, but there'll be no public displays of affection.
- 23:18We won't allow, we won't tolerate it.
- 23:20And we believe God can heal you and set you free.
- 23:24The reason that they don't stand for these things and they want to call it all political
- 23:28even so-called preachers is because they truly don't believe that God has the power to transform
- 23:33a life.
- 23:34Well, I do.
- 23:35And if we would ever come back to the scriptures and understand that Jesus came to heal the
- 23:39brokenhearted and a lot of the homosexuals are just brokenhearted, a lot of them have been
- 23:44molested, abused, whatever, because that's how that spirit recruits.
- 23:48They cannot, that spirit cannot reproduce, but it does recruit.
- 23:52And we've allowed the recruiting of our young people.
- 23:55And I believe the church is to blame because we have been way too silent.
- 23:59So what we need to do is engage pastors and say, do you believe the scriptures?
- 24:03Then quit believing the rhetoric of the left that has infiltrated the church that said that
- 24:09only preach Jesus.
- 24:10How do you preach Jesus without dealing with the culture?
- 24:13How do you preach Jesus without not talking about the 60 million babies that have been murdered
- 24:17in our country?
- 24:18How do you talk about Jesus when they're taking our young people and mutilating their
- 24:22bodies with the most horrific circumstance?
- 24:25That's why they give them immune blockers because your body will see that as a wound.
- 24:29So if you have a man that, you know, cuts off his private parts and they create a woman
- 24:34part in them, then the body constantly wants to heal it because it sees it as a wound.
- 24:40Even our natural body knows it's wrong.
- 24:42And so we need to engage pastors and say, listen, and Christians stand up for the word quit
- 24:48buying into the culture.
- 24:50We've been so indoctrinated with the world that we've not been indoctrinated in the scriptures.
- 24:54And the scriptures are very clear.
- 24:56And God will not be mocked.
- 24:58And so for these pastors, they just need to be talked to and said, listen, how do you
- 25:03address these things?
- 25:04Abortion's not biblical.
- 25:05I mean, not political.
- 25:07It's biblical.
- 25:08It's homosexuality is sin.
- 25:11And if they engage in it, they're not going to have it, but they're told that God did
- 25:14this.
- 25:15They're blaspheming God.
- 25:16They're viling the third commandment and attributing this something to God that he didn't
- 25:21have any part in.
- 25:22That's right.
- 25:23Unfortunately, under our on our watch and our parents and grandparents, and that generation
- 25:28in the church in America, you said, recruit, we have allowed the left and Marxists and others
- 25:36to recruit an army of social justice activists because you go through the K through 12 system,
- 25:42then you go to the hateful rabid indoctrination centers of the universities.
- 25:48You're going to come out a leftist activist.
- 25:50You're going to put in the environment and nature and above human beings, human life,
- 25:54and you're going to be through for all kinds of agendas.
- 25:57They're against Israel, a lot of these universities, even professors.
- 26:01So this is what we've seen.
- 26:02You said, recruit, they have done, we're supposed to disciple as believers, preach the gospel,
- 26:08make disciples of all nations, the left has discipled young people for far too long.
- 26:15So Steve, you and I have talked about this a lot.
- 26:17And we just want to encourage people to keep speaking and fighting these things and resisting
- 26:22because the left is not going to give up.
- 26:24We just need to recruit more soldiers of Christ, your final thoughts?
- 26:28Well, we are called, you know, the street commissions in the Bible.
- 26:34The first one is go get people saved.
- 26:36The second one was in Matthew a couple of weeks later, make disciples and the third one was
- 26:41be filled with the Holy Spirit.
- 26:42We need to come back to the scriptural understanding.
- 26:45You have a biblical worldview, you're very versed and we need to come back and say, hey,
- 26:50the Bible's the Bible, we're not here to change it, we're here to believe it and act on it.
- 26:55And once we do, what the consequences that follow, there are the consequences that follow.
- 27:01Praise God, brother, we have to talk again in the near future.
- 27:04It's been too long, but it's still great to reconnect with you again.
- 27:07Good to see you.
- 27:08Thanks for your time today.
- 27:09Well, thank you for having me.
- 27:11You're awesome.
- 27:12I hope people watch and listen to you because we have very few voices like you out there
- 27:16making a difference.
- 27:17So thank you.
- 27:18Praise God.
- 27:19Steve Smotherman Legacy Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico, we will be in touch, brother.
- 27:23Happy Thanksgiving.
- 27:24I know it's a few weeks away, but anyway, we'll see Lord willing soon.
- 27:28Thanks for to Maria too.
- 27:30You too, sir.
- 27:31Thank you.
- 27:32All right.
- 27:33All right, guys.
- 27:34Tomorrow, Dr. Jake Jacobs, we're going to be talking about actually more of Israel and
- 27:37what's going on there in the indoctrination on the university campuses and we're going
- 27:41to talk about the propaganda war that we don't seem to be either aware of or not doing
- 27:47very well in.
- 27:48So that's with Jake Jacobs, tomorrow on World View Matters.
- 27:51Thanks again for sharing on social media.
- 27:54God bless you.
- 27:55And as always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
