- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, ah, I sure will. Good morning, everybody. Are
- 0:07Speaker 1: you listening to the voice? Come on, dig me now,
- 0:11Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay,
- 0:16Speaker 1: I got something for you today. I'm gonna have a
- 0:21Speaker 1: conversation this morning about my understanding of grace now that
- 0:27Speaker 1: I've gotten older and I've come into a better understanding
- 0:31Speaker 1: of a lot of things I didn't know about when
- 0:33Speaker 1: I was younger. This is just my interpretation of grace.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Now once again, y'all listen to me. I ain't nobody's pastor,
- 0:44Speaker 1: I ain't nobody's minister. So you know, I'm pretty sure
- 0:46Speaker 1: you can go to church and get a far more
- 0:49Speaker 1: extensive definition of one I'm giving you. I'm just talking
- 0:52Speaker 1: to people. You know, Grace is this thing that God
- 0:59Speaker 1: provides for us, and grace is just things that you
- 1:05Speaker 1: get that's really undeserving, you know. I mean, I look
- 1:09Speaker 1: at my life as it is today.
- 1:11Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Look, I work hard, and I have faith in God
- 1:14Speaker 1: that I do so things are going to happen in
- 1:17Speaker 1: my life. But the way my life is now, I
- 1:19Speaker 1: don't don't. I don't deserve all of this.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I don't don't.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I don't look at it that way, I have been
- 1:26Speaker 1: the beneficiary of God's grace. I have aligned myself in
- 1:31Speaker 1: a position to accept whatever grace God has for me,
- 1:37Speaker 1: and it will be far abundant and exceedingly in anything
- 1:41Speaker 1: you could think of. His grace supersedes anything you could
- 1:47Speaker 1: possibly imagine.
- 1:48Speaker 2: You know, the goals that I set, and.
- 1:50Speaker 1: The aspirations that I shoot for, and the things that
- 1:52Speaker 1: I have on my dream board. I have the faith
- 1:55Speaker 1: that God will give it to me. But what He
- 1:56Speaker 1: does with grace, he gives you far more than that.
- 2:00Speaker 1: He gives you what He has for you, not what
- 2:03Speaker 1: you can see. You can't see all He has for you.
- 2:06Speaker 1: It's impossible.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Who are you? How can you.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Possibly imagine what he can imagine? How can you possibly
- 2:12Speaker 1: think how he can think? How can you possibly do
- 2:15Speaker 1: what he can do? How can it be that isn't
- 2:18Speaker 1: a single mind living or a collection of minds that
- 2:21Speaker 1: could have thought of Earth? What in your wildest imagination
- 2:27Speaker 1: could have made you think of Earth? The stars, the heavens,
- 2:31Speaker 1: the oceans, the galaxy, the constellations. What in your mind?
- 2:37Speaker 1: What in any man's mind. We can point at it
- 2:40Speaker 1: and analyze it, but we show couldn't have thought of it.
- 2:43Speaker 1: So come on, now, I'm talking about lining yourself up
- 2:48Speaker 1: with God's grace, which he will give to you if
- 2:52Speaker 1: you want some of it now. But now, his thing
- 2:55Speaker 1: about grace, it can't be bought. Could If it could
- 2:57Speaker 1: be bought, I'm telling you I would pull all the
- 3:01Speaker 1: money I have and dump it into grace, because, after
- 3:06Speaker 1: discovering what it is, it's this goodness that God shines
- 3:12Speaker 1: on you simply as a reward of some type for
- 3:16Speaker 1: His love for you and for you attempting, for you attempting.
- 3:22Speaker 2: To do right, not because you get it right. Because
- 3:25Speaker 2: if He judged us purely on.
- 3:27Speaker 1: How we are the right and wrong of it, we
- 3:29Speaker 1: would all be doomed. All of us, every last one
- 3:34Speaker 1: of us, would be doomed because we all fall short,
- 3:38Speaker 1: we all make mistakes, we all sin, we all get
- 3:42Speaker 1: it wrong from time to time. Nobody's perfect.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Man.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Now I understand what my mother was saying about cleaning
- 3:49Speaker 1: the house. All I want is a little more grace.
- 3:53Speaker 1: All I need is a little more grace when the
- 3:56Speaker 1: last time you ask God for some grace. Now, I'm
- 3:58Speaker 1: not talking to you like I know it. If you
- 4:02Speaker 1: just benefit from His grace what you already have, But
- 4:06Speaker 1: if you're not aware of it, you don't know what's
- 4:08Speaker 1: going on. Become aware of grace, Get aware of the
- 4:12Speaker 1: fact that God does things for you simply because He
- 4:15Speaker 1: loves you. He does things for you that you don't
- 4:18Speaker 1: even deserve. Somehow, you just wonder how you just got
- 4:21Speaker 1: over when you didn't even do the things to get over.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Sometimes you don't even know how you got that job
- 4:29Speaker 1: you got when you ain't even really do the things
- 4:31Speaker 1: to get your job. How you end up where you
- 4:33Speaker 1: are all the education you thought you went and got,
- 4:36Speaker 1: and hey, how you end up where you are today
- 4:38Speaker 1: in a much better position than your education could have
- 4:41Speaker 1: ever gotten you. That's grace. How I get every place
- 4:46Speaker 1: I am today. I didn't plan this. Man, If I
- 4:49Speaker 1: could have planned my life the way it is, don't
- 4:51Speaker 1: you know how'd have done it when I was living
- 4:52Speaker 1: in that car if I knew how to do it.
- 4:55Speaker 2: No, I benefited from his grace.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I'm just a benefit of his grace, of his goodness
- 5:03Speaker 1: and his mercy. God's goodness is better than your goodness.
- 5:07Speaker 1: God's goodness is better than your mother's goodness. It's better
- 5:11Speaker 1: than your wife's or your husband or your Boo's goodness,
- 5:14Speaker 1: God's goodness is different. His goodness man covers some stuff
- 5:19Speaker 1: you can't even imagine. So why are you trying to
- 5:23Speaker 1: put your life together when the last time you asked
- 5:26Speaker 1: him for just a little bit of grace? When have
- 5:30Speaker 1: you thought of your life in terms of the grace
- 5:33Speaker 1: that it has already benefited from?
- 5:35Speaker 2: Have you ever done that? Man?
- 5:38Speaker 1: Just thought about you know you hear songs like my soul,
- 5:41Speaker 1: look back and wonder how I got over?
- 5:42Speaker 2: That was grace. That's all I can call it. Now.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Like I said, you can go to church or somewherever
- 5:47Speaker 1: you want to, and ministers at the window at school
- 5:50Speaker 1: to teach this thing way better than me. I'm just
- 5:53Speaker 1: giving you from a layman standpoint, Man, have you thought
- 5:55Speaker 1: about his grace? Would you not bewall to be a
- 5:59Speaker 1: beneficiary of His grace?
- 6:01Speaker 2: With it not sert? Now check this out.
- 6:04Speaker 1: The better you try to do, the more grace he'll
- 6:07Speaker 1: give to you. Now that grace can't be bought, Like
- 6:10Speaker 1: I said, it's free. You can't purchase grace. But the
- 6:14Speaker 1: better you try to become the more the more grace
- 6:17Speaker 1: he gets to put your way. So man, just try,
- 6:22Speaker 1: Why don't you just try to do better. Look, man,
- 6:25Speaker 1: quit talking about it. I'm gonna start next week. I'm
- 6:27Speaker 1: gonna start at.
- 6:27Speaker 2: The new year.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Now you not, Yeah, you do that every year ever
- 6:31Speaker 1: at the new Year. I wanna eat better at the
- 6:33Speaker 1: new Year. I'm I'm gonna go get in here and
- 6:35Speaker 1: the new year. If you're gonna do it, you're gonna
- 6:37Speaker 1: do it now. Man, You're gonna do it nowing, stop
- 6:41Speaker 1: trying do something, do it, Stop talking about it, do
- 6:45Speaker 1: it now. The best way to benefit from his grace
- 6:48Speaker 1: is starting action now.
- 6:51Speaker 2: N O W now, right now today. What you're waiting on.
- 6:57Speaker 1: All you doing is delaying his opportunity to blame that's you,
- 7:02Speaker 1: You know, man, you know do you know how many
- 7:03Speaker 1: times we do that? We delay his opportunity to bless
- 7:07Speaker 1: us by not starting now.
- 7:09Speaker 2: If you gonna get healthy, why don't you start now?
- 7:12Speaker 1: Now. You're gonna trip a little bit because the holiday's coming,
- 7:15Speaker 1: But you ain't got to eat bad all the time.
- 7:17Speaker 1: You could start eating correct today you could. You could,
- 7:21Speaker 1: and then guess what, there could be some grace on
- 7:23Speaker 1: the end of that. I'm just giving you a little
- 7:26Speaker 1: cheap analogy. But do you feel what I'm saying to you,
- 7:29Speaker 1: start thinking in terms of grace. What he has done
- 7:33Speaker 1: for you and provided for you that you ain't even
- 7:34Speaker 1: see coming. That you know, you keep calling them blessings,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and I got that a lot of it us all
- 7:39Speaker 1: it is. But man, have you thought about the stuff
- 7:41Speaker 1: that didn't happen to you you can't account for. For me,
- 7:46Speaker 1: that's been grace and I'm beneficiary of it. And that's
- 7:50Speaker 1: available to everybody that won't sung. Next time you're talking
- 7:54Speaker 1: to him, just check in with grace.
- 7:55Speaker 2: See what that is. That's that's better than money. Steve
