- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites, presented by DraftKings. The Crown is yours.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We are an Action Network podcast. I'm Brandon Kravitz and
- 0:17Speaker 1: the crew is back on this fine Tuesday morning. Kendra Middleton,
- 0:20Speaker 1: the Prime Minister Stuckey. On today's episode, We've got our
- 0:23Speaker 1: plant the Flag. Game of the week for Week nine
- 0:26Speaker 1: in the NFL, which, please God, be better than Week eight.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Thursday Night Football Preview, a breakdown of the top storylines
- 0:33Speaker 1: in terms of the betting perspective, and of course, the
- 0:36Speaker 1: main event Evans Primer coming up at the end of
- 0:38Speaker 1: the episode.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Be sure to stick around for that. We had an
- 0:41Speaker 2: eighteen inning game in baseball last night.
- 0:44Speaker 1: The sports equinox was equinoxing and Kendra's back from Scotland.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Kendra, how was your trip overseas?
- 0:52Speaker 3: It was good.
- 0:53Speaker 4: I was glad to have the break. I'm ready to
- 0:56Speaker 4: grind through the Super Bowl, though. Oh I didn't see
- 0:58Speaker 4: the Lockness Monster, I didn't learn how to play bagpipes.
- 1:01Speaker 4: And I did figure out that they don't wear underwear
- 1:04Speaker 4: under kilts at all.
- 1:06Speaker 3: No one Dei's they freeball that shit.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I always I always sort of assumed what was the
- 1:12Speaker 1: most fun thing you did while you were over there.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Ooh, good question. Most fun thing.
- 1:19Speaker 4: I am not a huge history person, but I really
- 1:22Speaker 4: enjoyed learning about the Mary Queen of Scott's situation, how
- 1:28Speaker 4: that there was like that giant power struggle, and I
- 1:31Speaker 4: also got to see a bunch of the Harry Potter
- 1:33Speaker 4: graves and how there was like a dog that basically protected.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Edinburgh for a while.
- 1:38Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with the dog probably, but lots of
- 1:40Speaker 4: lots of fun things.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Okay, we'll get a maybe you'll get a breakdown video
- 1:44Speaker 1: as well on the social channels. Not a horrible idea, Stucky.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You want to give us a recap of Monday Night
- 1:50Speaker 1: football twenty eight to seven. The commander is not able
- 1:53Speaker 1: to get it done for us.
- 1:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I did miss their chances early and then died late.
- 1:59Speaker 5: I mean, they'd five trips inside the forty first four
- 2:02Speaker 5: trips inside of the forty zero points and you can't
- 2:05Speaker 5: do that against the Chiefs. They also went zero of
- 2:08Speaker 5: two on fourth downs. Chiefs went two of two and
- 2:11Speaker 5: then the second half was all Chiefs dominant second half
- 2:15Speaker 5: by Kansas City washing them more injuries. That team is
- 2:20Speaker 5: just decimated. McLaurin didn't finish. They lost their left they
- 2:26Speaker 5: lost Tunsil, they lost another defensive lineman. They're just in
- 2:31Speaker 5: rough shape. But yeah, they couldn't take advantage early. They
- 2:34Speaker 5: came out hair on fire and just couldn't take advantage.
- 2:38Speaker 5: There was a fumble that they couldn't pick up which
- 2:40Speaker 5: was a huge turning point, and a couple fourth downs.
- 2:43Speaker 5: So yeah, I will say the Chiefs are playing their
- 2:48Speaker 5: offenses on fire, but I will say the team has
- 2:52Speaker 5: been pretty fortunate overall. They have nine fumbles on the year,
- 2:58Speaker 5: they've recovered all of them. They are fourteen of seventeen
- 3:02Speaker 5: on fourth down. This is a non sneak team eighty
- 3:05Speaker 5: three percent. That's getting up to like that's like Washington
- 3:08Speaker 5: Territory last year opponents are four of sixteen on fourth
- 3:13Speaker 5: down twenty five percent. So there might be some And
- 3:17Speaker 5: that's basically what these football games come down to, turnovers,
- 3:20Speaker 5: fourth downs, Right it's usually like five or six plays
- 3:22Speaker 5: that will decide a game and or cover, and the
- 3:27Speaker 5: Chiefs have been getting those plays. But they're also their
- 3:29Speaker 5: offense right now is looks pretty unstoppable.
- 3:32Speaker 4: How different do we think that game is if Jaden plays,
- 3:34Speaker 4: Because I definitely think it's a lot different of the game.
- 3:37Speaker 5: I mean, Mariotta was fine in the first half, they
- 3:39Speaker 5: just couldn't They turned it over. There was a throwoff
- 3:43Speaker 5: Deebo's helmet that ended in an interception. The fourth down
- 3:48Speaker 5: play calls were bizarre. I thought there was a.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Bad terrible what's that.
- 3:52Speaker 4: I didn't think his decisioning was good whatsoever? And he
- 3:55Speaker 4: was slow to make them.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Yeah, second half it was. It was especially bad. But
- 3:59Speaker 5: there was a spot on a fourth down that was
- 4:00Speaker 5: awful that took points off the board.
- 4:03Speaker 3: But umpires also going in the favor of the Chiefs.
- 4:07Speaker 3: That was a terrible spot on that. What is the
- 4:09Speaker 3: point of that?
- 4:10Speaker 4: I was in I was watching that game in the
- 4:11Speaker 4: shower because I have like a thing I can put
- 4:13Speaker 4: my phone on the wall in the shower so I
- 4:15Speaker 4: can watch games and ESPN while I washed my hair.
- 4:18Speaker 4: I was literally screaming like no, in my shower.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Yeah, it wasn't even close, you Like, I got up
- 4:23Speaker 5: by a half yard and they marked it a half
- 4:25Speaker 5: yard short. That was very bizarre. But now it's it's
- 4:29Speaker 5: on to week ten or week nine, and there are
- 4:35Speaker 5: lots and lots of injuries to track.
- 4:39Speaker 1: As per usual, let's get to our quick three, our
- 4:42Speaker 1: top three takes our storylines. Heading into Week nine, the
- 4:46Speaker 1: Pats and the Broncos have each won five straight games,
- 4:50Speaker 1: the Patriots five and zero against the spread in those
- 4:53Speaker 1: five the Broncos are three and two Ats within that
- 4:57Speaker 1: five game stretch. But who are we buying more stock
- 5:01Speaker 1: in right now? Between the two hottest teams in the NFL? Kendrey,
- 5:05Speaker 1: you are our resident Patriots experts? Are we all in
- 5:09Speaker 1: on this team? They just look so good, so fluid
- 5:13Speaker 1: on offense. Rabel is a phenomenal coach. Hard not to
- 5:17Speaker 1: buy stock here. Trees don't grow to the sky, but
- 5:21Speaker 1: they have it Atlanta this week, and Atlanta looks like
- 5:23Speaker 1: they are on major fraud alert.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Yeah, it's tough because the Patriots not only have, in
- 5:29Speaker 4: my opinion, probably the easiest schedule in the NFL, but
- 5:32Speaker 4: as far as luck being healthy at this point in
- 5:36Speaker 4: the season, they're probably the healthiest team in the league
- 5:39Speaker 4: right now. And I get that Will Campbell's not gonna
- 5:42Speaker 4: have to go up against Miles Garrett every week. Stefon
- 5:44Speaker 4: Diggs is playing at a level people didn't expect him to.
- 5:46Speaker 4: A lot of people, including myself, were wondering what Drake
- 5:49Speaker 4: May was going to look like this year, but it
- 5:50Speaker 4: looks like him and Josh McDaniels are forehead kissing each
- 5:53Speaker 4: other every night before bed. Everything is honey Dory there.
- 5:56Speaker 4: So I think that the Patriots are lucky with the
- 5:59Speaker 4: schedule and lucky with the health. I don't think that
- 6:01Speaker 4: both of those things last forever. I don't think that
- 6:03Speaker 4: they have the depths on the roster or that the
- 6:07Speaker 4: Broncos do so despite the fact that the Broncos don't
- 6:09Speaker 4: cover the spread at the highest clip in comparison. I'm
- 6:13Speaker 4: going to go with the Broncos because I believe in
- 6:14Speaker 4: their talent, I believe in their depth, and I believe
- 6:16Speaker 4: in kind of the seniority that they have in the
- 6:19Speaker 4: locker room a little bit more than the Patriots.
- 6:21Speaker 3: But I will say I do with the Patriots. They're flowers.
- 6:23Speaker 4: They are out kicking the coverage that I personally thought
- 6:26Speaker 4: they would this season. I'm going to go with the Broncos,
- 6:28Speaker 4: but I have to respect what the Patriots have done.
- 6:30Speaker 4: I just expect that luck to run out at some point, and.
- 6:33Speaker 1: The Broncos are getting points on the road against Houston
- 6:35Speaker 1: this week, the Patriots laying five and a half against
- 6:39Speaker 1: the Atlanta Falcons stucky.
- 6:41Speaker 2: If you want to look at this season long that's.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Fine, But in terms of this coming weekend, is there
- 6:46Speaker 1: are there one of those two where you're still willing
- 6:48Speaker 1: to invest in a team right now who's stock is
- 6:52Speaker 1: as high as it could be yet.
- 6:53Speaker 5: I don't think it's not the Broncos. I mean, the
- 6:55Speaker 5: Broncos won five straight. They beat Jake Browning, the Jets
- 7:00Speaker 5: by two, the Giants by one. In the game they
- 7:03Speaker 5: should have lost, they were down twenty and then the
- 7:06Speaker 5: you know, the Road Cowboys, they blew them out. And
- 7:08Speaker 5: then the Eagles they were down seventeen three and they
- 7:10Speaker 5: had a good comeback. But it hasn't been that impressive.
- 7:14Speaker 5: If you dig into the competition, I would take the Patriots,
- 7:17Speaker 5: Like if I wanted to buy long term, it's the
- 7:19Speaker 5: Patriots because Drake May he's playing extremely well. His deep
- 7:24Speaker 5: ball has been unbelievable, and I would just take him
- 7:27Speaker 5: over Bo Nicks any day of the week. Plus, Broncos
- 7:31Speaker 5: is gonna be without Patrick Sutan for quite some time,
- 7:34Speaker 5: and that's huge because he enables them to do so
- 7:36Speaker 5: much defensively. I could be interested in the Falcons this
- 7:39Speaker 5: week they need Penix back. He's clearly better than whatever
- 7:45Speaker 5: whatever Kirk Cousins is out there now. But they have
- 7:48Speaker 5: a bunch of other injuries, Like their defense wasn't the
- 7:50Speaker 5: same because Zach Harrison has been great. He was a
- 7:53Speaker 5: late scratch to play without Jalen Walker, Jesse Bates got hurt,
- 7:56Speaker 5: Billy Bowman didn't play, so they hadn't deep Devon Divine Diablo,
- 8:03Speaker 5: who's been a big loss. He's on ir though, and
- 8:05Speaker 5: then obviously they miss Drake London. So there's a lot
- 8:08Speaker 5: of injuries to watch, including Pennix for the Falcons. The Patriots,
- 8:12Speaker 5: on the other end, they've been fairly healthy. Texans Broncos game,
- 8:16Speaker 5: it's if you get Nico Collins back. That's very important.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Without certain but the concern there is does the Broncos
- 8:27Speaker 5: defensive line ruin the game for the Texans?
- 8:29Speaker 2: Right?
- 8:29Speaker 5: The Texans are c J. Strapp can still pick apart
- 8:33Speaker 5: defense as if he has time, and San franc can't
- 8:35Speaker 5: generate any pass rush, but Denver obviously ken, so is
- 8:40Speaker 5: that going to ruin the game. I think you're gonna
- 8:41Speaker 5: need Collins this week, so we'll see if he can go.
- 8:43Speaker 5: I don't think Christian Kirk will, but that's certainly worth monitoring.
- 8:47Speaker 5: And then just a note on injury reports. You want
- 8:49Speaker 5: to look at an injury report, go to the Giants
- 8:52Speaker 5: and forty nine ers for this week. That is as
- 8:56Speaker 5: long as you'll see in the NFL on both sides.
- 8:59Speaker 5: The forty nine is it gonna be is Brock party back?
- 9:02Speaker 5: I think, but we'll see. But they've had more injuries
- 9:04Speaker 5: on defense last week. We'll see if they get anyone
- 9:07Speaker 5: back on offense. But the Giants also Holland Flop a
- 9:11Speaker 5: debo like Art Green who was starting, he got hurt.
- 9:14Speaker 5: They were down to like a practice squad guy. And
- 9:16Speaker 5: Deontay Banks who's unplayable. So there's a ton of injuries
- 9:19Speaker 5: to watch in that game and a number of others.
- 9:23Speaker 5: But like I mentioned the Panthers, we'll see about Bryce Young.
- 9:27Speaker 5: They had some offensive line injuries, they had some key
- 9:29Speaker 5: defensive injuries last week. They got really beat up. And
- 9:33Speaker 5: they're going to Green Bay, who could be even healthier
- 9:35Speaker 5: this week, so they could be in trouble. Those are
- 9:39Speaker 5: some of the ones I'll point out. And then the Raiders,
- 9:42Speaker 5: are you gonna get Meyers, Bowers and Crosby obviously a
- 9:46Speaker 5: different team with them back, and then you have for
- 9:50Speaker 5: the Jags, the Jags Podcast, Murray BTJ, Devin Lloyd are
- 9:55Speaker 5: ones to watch there. So yeah, there's a There's definitely
- 9:59Speaker 5: a lot than Jaden and Dan on Monday Night Football
- 10:02Speaker 5: or Sunday Night Football. We'll see if he can go.
- 10:05Speaker 5: But there are a lot of injuries in the last one.
- 10:08Speaker 5: I keep saying the last one. But Lamar Jackson, we're
- 10:10Speaker 5: gonna do this dance again. He's expected to play.
- 10:13Speaker 1: The line indicates that he is in there against last week.
- 10:17Speaker 3: I don't believe anything anymore.
- 10:20Speaker 1: What does it matter, Just by the way and move
- 10:22Speaker 1: on with your lives. I am predicting it right now.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Thursday's pickle game for Kendra is Jags Raiders. I'll just
- 10:30Speaker 1: that one's sitting at three. Both teams off a bye.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Who the hell is Jacksonville. There's no way that you're
- 10:37Speaker 1: going to have.
- 10:39Speaker 3: We want the super Bowl.
- 10:42Speaker 2: It's already over super Bowl.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Speaking of the teams inside of the AFC South, the
- 10:47Speaker 1: Colts have the most ridiculous point differential in the NFL
- 10:50Speaker 1: there at plus one sixteen. The next closest is Kansas
- 10:53Speaker 1: City at plus eighty three. Yet the Colts are just
- 10:56Speaker 1: three point favorites on the road against the steel this week,
- 11:00Speaker 1: so it looks too obvious again to take Indianapolis, which,
- 11:05Speaker 1: by the way, we never do.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I would love to go.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Back in time and not be a Jags podcast and
- 11:12Speaker 1: just be a Colts podcast. Why do we not throw
- 11:15Speaker 1: this team in our parlay every single week? Somebody please
- 11:20Speaker 1: explain the stasses I have.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Our plan. Week twelve is when we fade the Colts.
- 11:28Speaker 3: And here's why.
- 11:29Speaker 4: From week twelve, their schedule goes at Kansas City home
- 11:34Speaker 4: versus Houston, at Jacksonville they haven't won a game in
- 11:37Speaker 4: Jacksonville in ten years, at Seattle home versus San Francisco
- 11:42Speaker 4: home versus Jacksonville, and then they close out at Houston.
- 11:46Speaker 4: We start fading the Colts week twelve.
- 11:49Speaker 5: I might start this week. I mean, look, I've upgraded
- 11:52Speaker 5: the Colts so much, but that the Packers just cloes
- 11:55Speaker 5: two and a half minus one twenty in Pittsburgh. Like
- 11:58Speaker 5: we're saying the Colts are better than the Packers.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Now.
- 12:01Speaker 5: No, I saw I saw the Packers power raided number
- 12:06Speaker 5: one in the NFL.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I don't believe Ben Jordan Love I don't.
- 12:09Speaker 5: I mean, he just I believe in love. See, I'm
- 12:12Speaker 5: like you, I believe in love.
- 12:13Speaker 1: But the thing that we've had, the thing this is
- 12:17Speaker 1: about Pittsburgh as far as the.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Like their defense has been so awful.
- 12:23Speaker 1: As we continue to upgrade the Indianapolis Colts, we have
- 12:26Speaker 1: to continue to downgrade the Pittsburgh Steelers too.
- 12:29Speaker 5: But I mean, I just can't get to especially three
- 12:31Speaker 5: and a half. I'll have to play the Steelers here.
- 12:35Speaker 5: I mean, the Colts defense isn't any good either. The
- 12:37Speaker 5: Packers defense is good that they the Colts don't have
- 12:40Speaker 5: a pass rush.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Forty nine and a half, by the way, is the total.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Maybe we played the over there.
- 12:44Speaker 5: Could be some weather there which would help Pittsburgh. And yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 5: I mean it's just a number. Just comes down to numbers.
- 12:52Speaker 5: I mean, like if the Packers and Colts but in
- 12:55Speaker 5: the neutral field, I would certainly have the Packers favored
- 12:59Speaker 5: over the Bolts. So yeah, I'm interested in the Steelers,
- 13:05Speaker 5: especially if I can get a three and a half.
- 13:07Speaker 5: It's weekly you couldn't even get a you couldn't even
- 13:09Speaker 5: get a clean three with the Steelers against the Packers. Yeah, like, no,
- 13:15Speaker 5: I'm I'm potentially interested in the Steelers this week.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I uh my, my new fangled numbers actually make this
- 13:22Speaker 1: Colts minus two. So if I was playing that, I'd
- 13:25Speaker 1: have to be on Pittsburgh also. But my general point
- 13:27Speaker 1: in saying all of this is I'm tired of either
- 13:30Speaker 1: fading or just not betting on the Indianapolis Colts. Now
- 13:33Speaker 1: does that mean that you have to go run to
- 13:35Speaker 1: the window and bet them. No, But there are those
- 13:37Speaker 1: teams that every year US Sharp's just sleep on and
- 13:44Speaker 1: they're out here just making people money every single week,
- 13:47Speaker 1: and Indianapolis is definitely doing that now the biggest game
- 13:49Speaker 1: of the weekend.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Chiefs at Bill No.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Because the second we do is when they'll come out.
- 13:54Speaker 2: That's why you have to You do have to compose yourself.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I'm thinking more like retroactively, we should have just been like, no,
- 14:01Speaker 1: this is the team, this is this year's Minnesota Vikings
- 14:04Speaker 1: with Sam Darnold, and just ride that train. There's always
- 14:08Speaker 1: a team where you can just they'll just sort of
- 14:10Speaker 1: take you to mid season profitability. And Indianapolis was that
- 14:14Speaker 1: we'd missed the boat on it, and I think we
- 14:16Speaker 1: should just call spata spade here. Fine and fine, okay,
- 14:19Speaker 1: thank you for giving into that. Chiefs at Bill's biggest
- 14:22Speaker 1: game of the weekend. I am not in charge of
- 14:25Speaker 1: your social calendars out there, but if you have plans
- 14:28Speaker 1: at four to twenty five pm on the East Coast,
- 14:30Speaker 1: you should probably go ahead and cancel those. We did
- 14:33Speaker 1: see this flip already. The Chiefs or the Bills opened
- 14:36Speaker 1: as favorites. The Chiefs are now favored there on a
- 14:39Speaker 1: short week. The Bills off of a blowout win against
- 14:43Speaker 1: the Carolina Panthers.
- 14:45Speaker 2: They look pretty damn good. This is a tough one
- 14:49Speaker 2: any early read.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I'm probably gonna wait until the last minute, but I
- 14:52Speaker 1: will be on this game because it's just too big
- 14:54Speaker 1: not to have.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Some action on it.
- 14:56Speaker 4: I'm annoyed by the NFL schedule makers once again.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Why why is this a four o'clock game? Why? Like,
- 15:03Speaker 3: I do not understand why they continue to do this
- 15:06Speaker 3: to us. This needs to be a like this Thursday
- 15:08Speaker 3: night matchup? Are we serious? We didn't look at this sooner?
- 15:11Speaker 1: You would rather have this game on a Thursday night?
- 15:14Speaker 1: Four twenty five is like to me, that's the best
- 15:16Speaker 1: window for games like this.
- 15:18Speaker 4: No, I want this in primetime at night. I want
- 15:21Speaker 4: this to be you know, I want this to be
- 15:26Speaker 4: all I'm watching. All I'm caring about. All I'm investing
- 15:29Speaker 4: in this is the two you know, top teams heading
- 15:31Speaker 4: into the season playing each other. That's what I want.
- 15:34Speaker 4: I want it stand alone by itself. That being said,
- 15:38Speaker 4: you're the only one is.
- 15:38Speaker 5: Is act to be just paying attention to this because
- 15:40Speaker 5: the other games are Jags, Raiders and Saints Rams.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Yeah, there's okay, we have three games. We turn the
- 15:45Speaker 2: others off.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Drags podcast.
- 15:48Speaker 5: What you're saying, you have to watch the Raiders like
- 15:50Speaker 5: the Chief Spills of base essentially have thero own window here.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Just turn your lights off, make it feel like it's
- 15:57Speaker 1: at night, and treat it like a primetime game.
- 16:00Speaker 2: That's why.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Well, you know what, this this game, unfortunately for me,
- 16:03Speaker 4: is not going to be on my big TV because
- 16:05Speaker 4: I'm going to be jagging off unlike you fake fans.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Anyways, I'm on the Bills.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I'm not a Jags fan. You guys are forcing me
- 16:12Speaker 2: into this every single week.
- 16:14Speaker 3: I do have the Bills, worst team in the state.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Don't do me that well.
- 16:17Speaker 2: We get primetime games though.
- 16:19Speaker 1: I do have the Bills, and a teaser bought them
- 16:22Speaker 1: up to seven and a half paired with the Bengals
- 16:23Speaker 1: at eight and a half against the Bears. So if
- 16:26Speaker 1: you wanted some way of playing into this early in
- 16:28Speaker 1: the week, I I feel like that's a good one piece.
- 16:33Speaker 5: Uh, the injuries are bad, Like I'm worth watching it,
- 16:37Speaker 5: Oliver the I are.
- 16:39Speaker 2: The Chiefs.
- 16:40Speaker 5: You want to watch their offensive line injuries looks Josh
- 16:42Speaker 5: Simmons I think is going to be out again. But
- 16:44Speaker 5: Tray Smith is questionable. That matters a lot more against
- 16:48Speaker 5: Buffalo than it does against Washington. Whoever they have left
- 16:52Speaker 5: on their defensive line, but maybe not because Buffalo d
- 16:55Speaker 5: lose that. Oliver Dae Kwon Jones is questionable. Their safeties
- 16:58Speaker 5: are a mess. Matt Malono and Terrell Bernard are questionable.
- 17:02Speaker 5: So like this defense is in rough shape. So but
- 17:08Speaker 5: like is they should be able to run the ball
- 17:12Speaker 5: in Kansas City. It's Josh Allen at home. I mean,
- 17:15Speaker 5: this is a Buffalo team that for the moment, I
- 17:17Speaker 5: think they have three losses at home over the last words. Now,
- 17:19Speaker 5: they did lose at home earlier this year. A lot
- 17:21Speaker 5: of that is the defensive injuries. Their defense hasn't been right.
- 17:24Speaker 5: Now you're going up against this Chiefs offense. But chief
- 17:27Speaker 5: short week traveling on the road, Bills have this circle.
- 17:30Speaker 5: They usually have the Chiefs number in the regular season,
- 17:33Speaker 5: but those defensive injuries.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Four and L I believe is the number.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Or yeah, defensive injuries might be too much. But nowan
- 17:40Speaker 5: I'll keep this close, so I don't mind that teaser piece.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Let's look at Thursday Texans.
- 17:44Speaker 5: I would pair with Texans too. Like Texans up over
- 17:47Speaker 5: a touchdown in a game with a total of thirty nine.
- 17:51Speaker 1: The Texans are favored now though, would you still play that?
- 17:54Speaker 5: Oh no?
- 17:55Speaker 2: As far as a teaser, no, no, no Little Wi
- 17:57Speaker 2: at San Francisco.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Oh no, I'm sorry. That was last week's game. I
- 18:01Speaker 1: was thinking about no Denver. And by the way, excuse yeah,
- 18:04Speaker 1: I mean the teasing Denver. Sure, Bo Nicks is a
- 18:08Speaker 1: teaser god. Evan Abrams puts this in his primer every
- 18:11Speaker 1: single week. This guy, when you use him, buy up
- 18:14Speaker 1: some points. He doesn't miss. So that I like that angle.
- 18:18Speaker 1: As far as the Broncos goes, Thursday Night Football Ravens.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Dolphins Thursday Night Football.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Dolphins seven and a half point underdogs, total sitting at
- 18:27Speaker 1: fifty and a half, both teams coming off of double
- 18:29Speaker 1: digit wins. But this number is where it is for
- 18:31Speaker 1: a reason. Lamar is supposed to be back for Baltimore.
- 18:35Speaker 1: John Harball played some games with the injury report last week.
- 18:38Speaker 1: We'll slap on the wrist, move on. Get Lamar back now.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Both teams sitting on two wins right now, and a
- 18:45Speaker 1: win for either one more likely the Ravens could actually
- 18:49Speaker 1: make a case to make a play for a wild
- 18:52Speaker 1: card spot. I think the Ravens are actually favored right
- 18:55Speaker 1: now to win their division, so pretty wild stuff. This
- 18:59Speaker 1: is a big game, even though you have two teams
- 19:02Speaker 1: record wise that have been terrible. The Dolphins four and
- 19:05Speaker 1: two against the spread over their last six games, so they're.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Not dead yet.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I kind of want to be on Miami. Can somebody
- 19:13Speaker 1: talk me off of losing money on my own team?
- 19:16Speaker 3: They suck? Have you not been watching the games every.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Two as last six weeks?
- 19:22Speaker 4: You know? But everybody's injured for them. The Ravens are
- 19:25Speaker 4: finally getting healthier. It's Baltimore and nothing for me here.
- 19:29Speaker 4: They've got to absolutely blow doors, not just win, to
- 19:33Speaker 4: get the confidence up, to get back on track to
- 19:35Speaker 4: actually be back in the playoff conversation. They don't have
- 19:39Speaker 4: to just I mean they do have to just win,
- 19:40Speaker 4: but they've got to win convincingly. Now it's not just
- 19:42Speaker 4: they're they're convincing, you know, the general public. They've got
- 19:45Speaker 4: to convince themselves that they are not the team that
- 19:47Speaker 4: they have shown everybody the last couple of weeks despite
- 19:50Speaker 4: the injuries that they've had, because some of the losses,
- 19:52Speaker 4: even with the injuries, are inexcusable. In my opinion, I
- 19:55Speaker 4: don't know what's going on with this team. It's got
- 19:57Speaker 4: to be Baltimore and nothing for me here. The Dolphins
- 20:00Speaker 4: no business doing what they did to the Falcons the
- 20:02Speaker 4: other day, and the Falcons I think are a good team.
- 20:05Speaker 4: I think it was just a bad spot for them.
- 20:06Speaker 4: It was an easy get up spot for the Dolphins.
- 20:08Speaker 4: They had nothing to lose. They could just go out
- 20:10Speaker 4: there and ball with the injuries that they have. But
- 20:12Speaker 4: they they're just they're they're like roadkill. When you feel
- 20:17Speaker 4: bad for them and they start kicking again and you're like, damn,
- 20:20Speaker 4: like they're eventually going to die. Should I just put
- 20:22Speaker 4: the car in reverse? And and their misery right now,
- 20:24Speaker 4: that's where I see the Dolphins.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Wow.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Just a disclaimer, no animals were injured during the use
- 20:31Speaker 1: of that take. Maybe we should put an eye patch
- 20:34Speaker 1: on Tua. That seemed to work the one eye Toua
- 20:37Speaker 1: was hurling touchdowns left and right. Stucky, you're the Ravens, whisper,
- 20:40Speaker 1: What are you seeing matchup wise Thursday night?
- 20:46Speaker 5: I just don't know. On themar and to lay over
- 20:49Speaker 5: a touchdown on a short week, and then like if
- 20:53Speaker 5: he does play the other like I like that spot
- 20:56Speaker 5: against the Bears. Regardless coming out of the by the
- 20:58Speaker 5: Bears defense has been a paper to Lamar has not
- 21:02Speaker 5: been efficient. But if Lamar plays is how is he
- 21:07Speaker 5: gonna look? How's the ofphense gonna be called? Is he
- 21:09Speaker 5: going to be healthy? Is he going to be fully mobile?
- 21:11Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:11Speaker 5: There's so much on certain the end. It's a short week.
- 21:13Speaker 5: I hate Thursday night football games already. The Dolphins also
- 21:15Speaker 5: had a ton of injuries last week, a lot in
- 21:18Speaker 5: the secondary. Storm Duck who just came back. I think
- 21:21Speaker 5: it will be out. Fitzpatrick got hurt. I mean it
- 21:23Speaker 5: goes on. That team is just decimated. And they caught
- 21:27Speaker 5: a sleepy Falcons team without Penix, without London, without like
- 21:31Speaker 5: four or five starting defenders, and they just caught him
- 21:34Speaker 5: on a good day. This is still a really bad
- 21:36Speaker 5: Dolphins team. But like, I have no interest in this
- 21:39Speaker 5: game whatsoever, will not be betting it.
- 21:43Speaker 1: It is a bad Dolphins team, and I have no
- 21:45Speaker 1: believe me, I have no delusions about what this Dolphins
- 21:49Speaker 1: team is.
- 21:49Speaker 2: But still, uh, I don't know. I think you might
- 21:52Speaker 2: Thursday night.
- 21:54Speaker 1: To me, it's about the perception not meeting up with reality.
- 21:58Speaker 1: The perception of Miami is what you said, Kendrid. It's
- 22:01Speaker 1: that their roadkill, that they've given up on their coach.
- 22:04Speaker 1: And outside of getting blown out by the Cleveland Browns,
- 22:07Speaker 1: the Dolphins play every team they go up against tough,
- 22:10Speaker 1: and their schedule hasn't been easy. They've faced the Bills,
- 22:13Speaker 1: They've gone up against the Patriots. I mean, they're covering
- 22:16Speaker 1: spreads against good teams, and yet the perception on them,
- 22:19Speaker 1: even after a win is still Yeah, but this team sucks.
- 22:23Speaker 1: They do, but they're good enough to cover numbers, especially
- 22:27Speaker 1: when you get over a touchdown and an extra point.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Legitimately, two years ago, my dog body slammed a rat
- 22:34Speaker 4: in the backyard and I thought that it had died,
- 22:37Speaker 4: and I went back out there two days later with
- 22:39Speaker 4: a shovel to put it in the trash, and it
- 22:41Speaker 4: started squeaking, and the body had already molded, and I
- 22:43Speaker 4: had to go out there and smash the head of
- 22:45Speaker 4: the rat in with the shovel so that it would die.
- 22:48Speaker 3: So I put it in the trash. That is this
- 22:50Speaker 3: Dolphins team.
- 22:51Speaker 4: My dog has broken the ribs and pounced on this rat,
- 22:54Speaker 4: and it just every once in a while shows a
- 22:56Speaker 4: sign of life.
- 22:57Speaker 3: The Ravens are gonna go out there be the shovel
- 22:59Speaker 3: that I had to be.
- 23:00Speaker 1: You know, this is where my stubbornness gets me in trouble.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Put your fucking shovel away. I'm taking the Dolphins plus
- 23:06Speaker 1: the seven end.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Do you collared?
- 23:09Speaker 1: We're about to plant our flag presented by Draft Kings,
- 23:12Speaker 1: but first the word from our very own Kendra as

- 23:45Speaker 2: All right, Kendra, what do you got? Where are you
- 23:47Speaker 2: planting your flag?
- 23:51Speaker 1: Flag?
- 23:52Speaker 6: And a shut up.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I'm trying to plant my flag here. Okay, you're really
- 23:55Speaker 3: planning your flag in that thing.
- 23:57Speaker 4: We were filling out our notes what's the same time
- 23:59Speaker 4: early and typed in the same game, and I decided
- 24:02Speaker 4: to pivot, and I'm gonna let you have it just
- 24:04Speaker 4: in case it's wrong. I want to say that this
- 24:08Speaker 4: slate feels like fools gold because it feels so good.
- 24:12Speaker 4: It feels like an easy slate to be able to
- 24:13Speaker 4: gamble on, which is what makes me think that I
- 24:16Speaker 4: might not have the best week because it feels too
- 24:18Speaker 4: good to be true.
- 24:19Speaker 3: However, I think I'm gonna go with the Bears.
- 24:22Speaker 4: Stucky alluded to the point that the Bears defense has
- 24:25Speaker 4: not been what some of us expected. It's, you know,
- 24:29Speaker 4: highest caliber to be so far this season. They're playing
- 24:32Speaker 4: the Bengals, though I get that the Bengals. Joe Flacco's
- 24:35Speaker 4: had some chemistry with Jamar Chase. They're kind of progressing
- 24:38Speaker 4: a way, but they're just unreliable. I think that what's
- 24:42Speaker 4: gonna happen is the Bears are going to be able
- 24:43Speaker 4: to outscore that offense, regardless of the chemistry that they have.
- 24:47Speaker 4: The Bears are the better team, don't think too hard
- 24:49Speaker 4: about it. The Bengals are a bad team. They need
- 24:51Speaker 4: Joe Burrow, They're beaten up, they're discouraged. I'm going with
- 24:54Speaker 4: the Bears. I'm closing my eyes and I'm just hitting
- 24:56Speaker 4: the smash button. I'm like that lizard and like that
- 24:58Speaker 4: Disney meme that was going aro.
- 25:00Speaker 3: For a while. That's just like lizard, Lizard, Lizard. That's
- 25:02Speaker 3: me with this game.
- 25:03Speaker 4: I can't even think about it. It just it's what
- 25:05Speaker 4: feels right. It feels the best to me. I'm going
- 25:07Speaker 4: with it, closing my eyes.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I'm just worried about what Chase is going to do
- 25:11Speaker 1: to the secondary. But that's why I bought the points up.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Can't talk you off of the Bears minus the two
- 25:15Speaker 1: and a half. Stucky you where you at?
- 25:17Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 25:17Speaker 5: I haven't bet anything yet this week. There's a lot
- 25:20Speaker 5: of favorites that I think are a little overvalued. I
- 25:22Speaker 5: don't know if I'll get to Maybe that's as a
- 25:25Speaker 5: result of this past week. I think favorites had their
- 25:27Speaker 5: best day and best weekend in twenty five years or something.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Eleven ats this week a.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Good season for him.
- 25:36Speaker 5: None were even close, So I think there's a couple
- 25:38Speaker 5: that are overvalued. I haven't played anything yet, but I'll
- 25:41Speaker 5: just go back to what I said before. I can't
- 25:43Speaker 5: get to this cold Steelers number. So I'll plan my
- 25:46Speaker 5: flag on the Steelers plus three minus one to five.
- 25:48Speaker 5: But wait, I think you're going to get to three
- 25:51Speaker 5: and a half. So but I'll plan my flag now
- 25:53Speaker 5: on the Steelers. The Bears Bengals, I mean you Kenjri,
- 25:57Speaker 5: you might also not get Flacco, could be browning Flacco's
- 25:59Speaker 5: younger shoulder injuries day to day, so that would be beneficial.
- 26:03Speaker 5: The Bears, I mean there they're secondaries and just such shambles.
- 26:06Speaker 5: We'll see if Stevenson can come back. But Gordon and
- 26:08Speaker 5: Johnson on I are but the Bears should be able
- 26:10Speaker 5: to move the ball. On the Bengals, I mean the
- 26:11Speaker 5: Jets with a bunch of backup receivers and at Justin
- 26:14Speaker 5: Field's put a five hundred yards. That's right insane. So
- 26:19Speaker 5: the Bengals defense is pathetic. Their offensive line is still bad.
- 26:21Speaker 5: I mean that should be a shootout, but there is
- 26:24Speaker 5: a chance that Flacco doesn't go, and it's clearly a
- 26:29Speaker 5: downgrade when when Browning is in there. But like some
- 26:33Speaker 5: other games that I think are a little too high,
- 26:36Speaker 5: I mean the Giant s Niners. I mean, I gotta
- 26:38Speaker 5: wait on the injury report there. Let's see maybe if we.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Talked about how Joe Flacco did a toush push. Though
- 26:45Speaker 3: that old man did the toush push, anybody.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Could do it.
- 26:50Speaker 5: Any everyone needs to adopt a sneak. I'm interested in
- 26:54Speaker 5: the Cardinals at three. I do think the Lions are
- 26:57Speaker 5: a tad too high. See what their secondary looks like.
- 27:02Speaker 5: I just think that should be seven. The Titans are
- 27:04Speaker 5: too high, But am I going to bet them? I
- 27:06Speaker 5: don't know. I doubt it. I do think the Falcons
- 27:09Speaker 5: are too high right now. But I need more clarity
- 27:13Speaker 5: on the injury situation. Like I need Panics back, I
- 27:15Speaker 5: need London back. A couple of defenders would help. And yeah,
- 27:20Speaker 5: I think that's about it on the radar for now.
- 27:23Speaker 1: How about the Carolina Panthers. That's thinking about putting them.
- 27:26Speaker 3: I thought about them too.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I never thought I would say this. I need Bryce
- 27:32Speaker 2: young Beck.
- 27:34Speaker 5: They also had more offense. They had a couple offensive
- 27:36Speaker 5: line and more offensive line injuries last week, and they're
- 27:39Speaker 5: already down offensive linemen. Derek Brown is like so important.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Their defense got hurt. Their defense had a couple injuries,
- 27:45Speaker 5: like their Rundy has been really good, had a couple injuries,
- 27:48Speaker 5: and the Bills did whatever they wanted. So I would
- 27:51Speaker 5: be a little cautious.
- 27:52Speaker 3: There, Andy asked Dalton. I can't do it.
- 27:55Speaker 5: You don't want to.
- 27:56Speaker 2: I'm betting.
- 27:57Speaker 1: I'm not betting on Andy Dalton three turnovers last week.
- 28:00Speaker 1: He looks beyond washed. I play at the flag game, though,
- 28:05Speaker 1: I was thinking about the well not to think. I've
- 28:07Speaker 1: already bet the Detroit Lions at minus eight and a half.
- 28:10Speaker 1: That number is not going anywhere. But uh, but I'm
- 28:13Speaker 1: gonna go with the forty nine ers minus two and
- 28:15Speaker 1: a half. I am over the Max Jones experience. We
- 28:17Speaker 1: might be getting Brock Purty back. I would love that
- 28:20Speaker 1: nice bounce back opportunity after getting dominated by a desperate
- 28:23Speaker 1: Houston team and the Giants are falling apart. The neighbors
- 28:26Speaker 1: injury was a big blow to the offense. I think
- 28:29Speaker 1: the Scataboo injury hurts their identity. Yeah, I think it's
- 28:33Speaker 1: much worse in terms of what and I mean the
- 28:37Speaker 1: the unquantifiable swag that him and Jackson Dart had. There's
- 28:42Speaker 1: a reason why Dart had the reaction he did when
- 28:44Speaker 1: when he saw Skataboo's leg twisted all sorts of ways.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I think that might have been the straw that broke
- 28:49Speaker 1: the Campbell's back. The Giants were a nice story.
- 28:51Speaker 3: But it was fine.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Yeah it was. It was a lot of fun.
- 28:54Speaker 1: But this is a big bounce back spot for about it.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Solidarity Bears minus two and a half is in the
- 29:05Speaker 1: plant the flag spread here forty nine Ers minus two
- 29:08Speaker 1: and a half and the Steelers plus three, but Stucky
- 29:11Speaker 1: advising that you wait until you get the plus three
- 29:14Speaker 1: and a half. Those are a plant. The Flag Games
- 29:16Speaker 1: presented by DraftKings. Now time for the main event. No
- 29:19Speaker 1: betting week can start without it. It's the primer courtesy
- 29:23Speaker 1: of Evan Abrams. Yeah, into the show, Evan, how much
- 29:27Speaker 1: fun have you had listening to us yell at each other?
- 29:30Speaker 6: So you guys said eleven and two ats or favorites.
- 29:33Speaker 6: That was in week eight, best win percentage for favorites
- 29:35Speaker 6: in a single week since December of eighty five. I
- 29:38Speaker 6: think the crazy thing is all eleven favorites covered by
- 29:42Speaker 6: seven plus points, which is the most I've seen in
- 29:45Speaker 6: a week in over thirty years. So really insane in
- 29:48Speaker 6: the fact that no game was even close for other
- 29:50Speaker 6: than the two upsets. The other note favorites thirty three
- 29:54Speaker 6: and ten straight up the last three weeks, so dogs
- 29:58Speaker 6: really not even winning on the mon as well in
- 30:01Speaker 6: that span. In terms of everything else, the one thing
- 30:04Speaker 6: you might notice from the slate this week is a
- 30:07Speaker 6: lot of high totals. So right now we have five
- 30:10Speaker 6: totals of fifty plus that would be the most since
- 30:14Speaker 6: Week ten of twenty twenty one at this point, and
- 30:16Speaker 6: we even have a few in the forty eight and
- 30:18Speaker 6: forty nine, so have to see how that goes. But yeah,
- 30:21Speaker 6: a lot of high totals this week. A few other
- 30:24Speaker 6: things I'll just throw at you. GoF eight to zero
- 30:27Speaker 6: against the spread versus the Vikings with the Lions. Wow,
- 30:30Speaker 6: he is absolutely dominated. Minnesota.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Oh love Tennessee.
- 30:35Speaker 6: We talk about this all the time, But got to
- 30:37Speaker 6: say it. They've lost eleven straight ats at home, so
- 30:40Speaker 6: they are getting ten points against Harbaugh, who usually crushes
- 30:44Speaker 6: on these road trips out east in Central does really
- 30:47Speaker 6: really well with those Chargers teams. But boy is at
- 30:50Speaker 6: a high number. And here's the best one. Colts and
- 30:53Speaker 6: Ravens can both cash their win totals this week. Colts
- 30:57Speaker 6: can go over seven and a half, Ravens can go
- 30:59Speaker 6: under eleven and a half.
- 31:00Speaker 2: With a loss.
- 31:01Speaker 6: And it is only week nine, so can't wait for
- 31:04Speaker 6: that stuff.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Wow, that's really good stuff. Do you have anything on
- 31:08Speaker 1: the Patriots? This feels like they're tied right now with
- 31:12Speaker 1: the Broncos in terms of winning streaks in the NFL,
- 31:14Speaker 1: but they're also doing it in terms of covering the number.
- 31:20Speaker 1: They're on the heater of all heaters right now. Is
- 31:23Speaker 1: there a cell point for them? Is there anything in
- 31:26Speaker 1: the primer this week about hey, ease up on trying
- 31:31Speaker 1: to tail this team as trees don't grow to the sky.
- 31:36Speaker 6: I feel like I kind of just used the same
- 31:37Speaker 6: stat I used last week because I went one in
- 31:39Speaker 6: one with Chicago and New England. But the fact that
- 31:42Speaker 6: teams are a four plus game straight at Ats who
- 31:44Speaker 6: didn't make the playoffs fifteen and twenty seven against the
- 31:47Speaker 6: number two and fifteen since twenty twenty two. So at
- 31:50Speaker 6: some point New England comes back to the mean. But
- 31:53Speaker 6: the crazier thing is those MVP odds. Drake May opens
- 31:57Speaker 6: the year at fifty to one, but crazy thing. Entering
- 32:00Speaker 6: Week five he was one hundred to one and now
- 32:03Speaker 6: he's five to one. So that is a massive, massive
- 32:07Speaker 6: correction based off the season that he's had so far,
- 32:10Speaker 6: two thousand passing yards, seventy five percent completion percentage to
- 32:14Speaker 6: eight games. Only Drew Brees in twenty eighteen pulled that off,
- 32:18Speaker 6: so what he's been doing is really really crazy. I
- 32:21Speaker 6: think the other thing when it comes to this game
