- 0:00Welcome to Pomoja Podcast, a ministry of Life
- 0:03of Christ International, where we build stronger
- 0:05lives, deeper faith, and Christ -centered foundations.
- 0:09One story, one message, and one revelation at
- 0:12a time. I'm your host, Barry Mwamba. Welcome
- 0:16back to another episode of Pomoja Podcast. This
- 0:19is When the Strong Get Tired, episode four, How
- 0:24Great People Quietly Fall. Today, I do not want
- 0:28to preach at you. I want to have a real conversation
- 0:30with you because what we are discussing today
- 0:33is one of the most dangerous realities in life,
- 0:37leadership, ministry, marriage, success, business,
- 0:41and even Christianity itself. How do strong people
- 0:45fall? How do disciplined people slowly lose vigilance?
- 0:49How do gifted people destroy their own future?
- 0:52How do anointed people collapse publicly? How
- 0:55do people who once inspired nations become cautionary
- 0:59stories. Because the truth is, great falls rarely
- 1:03happen suddenly. Most great falls happen quietly,
- 1:07slowly, internally, secretly, long before the
- 1:11public ever notices. And if we are honest, many
- 1:15times the signs were already there. Fatigue,
- 1:18pride, isolation, lack of accountability, secret
- 1:23compromise, carelessness, distraction. loss of
- 1:27spiritual discipline, comfort, success. And this
- 1:31is what makes this conversation important. Because
- 1:34many people think danger only exists during struggle.
- 1:38No. Sometimes the greatest danger comes after
- 1:41the blessing, after the promotion, after the
- 1:44platform, after the influence, after the success,
- 1:48after the doors finally open. And this is why
- 1:51I said in previous episodes, when the strong
- 1:54get tired, they become vulnerable in areas they
- 1:57once controlled carefully. A tired person stops
- 2:00watching carefully. A tired person relaxes spiritually.
- 2:05A tired person begins to lower boundaries. A
- 2:08tired person slowly loses discernment. And sometimes
- 2:12what starts as exhaustion ends as compromise.
- 2:16I want you to think about this carefully. Some
- 2:19people survive warfare, but cannot survive comfort.
- 2:23Some people survive the wilderness, but cannot
- 2:25survive success. Some people survive obscurity,
- 2:30but cannot survive visibility, because success
- 2:33tests character differently than struggle. Struggle
- 2:36forces dependence on God. Success can create
- 2:39the illusion of self -sufficiency. And this is
- 2:42why the Bible constantly warns people not to
- 2:44forget God after blessing arrives. God told Israel,
- 2:48when you enter houses you did not build, when
- 2:51you eat and are full, when silver and gold multiply.
- 2:55Be careful not to forget the Lord your God. Why?
- 2:59Because blessing has a dangerous side effect.
- 3:02It can slowly reduce dependence on God. And this
- 3:06is the deception of this generation. Everybody
- 3:09wants the promise, but very few people want the
- 3:12covenant. Everybody wants elevation, but very
- 3:15few people want the discipline required to sustain
- 3:17elevation. People want the blessing. without
- 3:21the lifestyle that protects the blessing. But
- 3:24hear me carefully. Every blessing is a covenant
- 3:27blessing. Psalm 1 says, blessed is the man, not
- 3:31everybody. The man who refuses certain paths.
- 3:35The man who refuses certain environments. The
- 3:38man who refuses certain lifestyles. That means
- 3:41covenant changes how you live. Covenant changes
- 3:44what you tolerate. Covenant changes your priorities.
- 3:48Covenant changes your private life. A covenant
- 3:51person rearranges life to keep God first, prayer
- 3:54first, presence first, obedience first, purity
- 3:58first, truth first, character first. And this
- 4:03is where many people fail, because they think
- 4:05blessings are sustained only by talent, intelligence,
- 4:09networking, education, or opportunity. No, those
- 4:14things may help you reach a level, but they cannot
- 4:16sustain you there. Character sustains blessings.
- 4:20Discipline sustains blessings. Integrity sustains
- 4:23blessings. The fear of God sustains blessings.
- 4:27And one of the greatest mistakes people make
- 4:29is skipping process. People want crowns without
- 4:33process, titles without preparation, visibility
- 4:37without maturity. But life does not work that
- 4:40way. What you skip learning today will eventually
- 4:43confront you tomorrow. And when it catches up
- 4:46to you, It exposes weakness. It exposes immaturity.
- 4:51It exposes incompetence. And many people are
- 4:54reduced back to levels they never properly grew
- 4:56beyond. That is why some people do not last long
- 4:59in positions. The position elevated them, but
- 5:03their preparation could not sustain them. And
- 5:06the Bible gives us example after example after
- 5:09example. Look at David. David did not skip process.
- 5:14Before the throne there was the field. Before
- 5:17leading a nation, there was loneliness with sheep.
- 5:20Before public victory, there was private preparation.
- 5:23David learned warfare, responsibility, dependence
- 5:27on God, patience, courage. The wilderness built
- 5:31him. But later in life, after success, after
- 5:35power, after becoming established, David relaxed
- 5:39morally. He stayed home when kings went to war.
- 5:42One decision, one moment of comfort. One moment
- 5:46of uncontrolled desire. And adultery entered.
- 5:49Then deception entered. Then murder entered.
- 5:52And from that moment forward, division entered
- 5:54his house. Rebellion entered his family. Violence
- 5:58increased. Pain multiplied. One private compromise
- 6:02affected an entire kingdom. Look at Moses. A
- 6:05deliverer. A giant of faith. A man who spoke
- 6:08with God face to face. Yet one uncontrolled emotional
- 6:11reaction. One moment of anger. cost him entrance
- 6:14into the promised land. That should humble all
- 6:16of us, because it teaches us something serious.
- 6:19No matter how anointed a person becomes, uncontrolled
- 6:22areas remain dangerous. Look at the Israelites.
- 6:25They survived Egypt physically, but Egypt never
- 6:28fully left them internally. Complaining, rebellion,
- 6:32disobedience, lack of gratitude, lack of faith,
- 6:36destroyed an entire generation. Character kept
- 6:38many from entering what God had already prepared.
- 6:41Look at Peter in Gethsemane. Peter loved Jesus.
- 6:44Peter was loyal emotionally. But emotional loyalty
- 6:47without spiritual discernment becomes dangerous.
- 6:50When the soldiers came, Peter cut off the servant's
- 6:52ear. Why? Lack of discernment. Lack of self -control.
- 6:57Personal ambition mixed with misunderstanding.
- 6:59Peter still imagined a political kingdom while
- 7:01Jesus was fulfilling a spiritual mission. And
- 7:04Jesus had to stop everything, heal the man, and
- 7:07protect Peter from unnecessary destruction. Sometimes
- 7:10one emotional reaction can delay destiny. Look
- 7:13at Judas. People think Judas fell overnight.
- 7:16No. The Bible already exposed the pattern early.
- 7:19Judas was stealing secretly from the money bag.
- 7:22Untreated compromise became an open door. Greed
- 7:25entered. Corruption entered. Satan entered. And
- 7:28eventually Judas destroyed himself. What is tolerated
- 7:31privately eventually manifests publicly. Look
- 7:34at Samson. A man born with purpose. A judge of
- 7:38Israel. A carrier of supernatural strength. But
- 7:41Samson kept entertaining what God warned him
- 7:43about. Philistine women, uncontrolled attraction,
- 7:47carelessness, pride in his gifting. And slowly,
- 7:50the strong man became weak. The anointed man
- 7:53became vulnerable. The man who once defeated
- 7:55lions eventually could not discern Delilah. And
- 7:59what did he lose? His eyes, his strength, his
- 8:02freedom, his dignity, and his assignment was
- 8:05shortened. One uncontrolled appetite weakened
- 8:08a divine calling. Look at Solomon. one of the
- 8:11wisest men who ever lived. Yet wisdom without
- 8:13discipline still becomes vulnerable. His attraction
- 8:16toward women slowly pulled his heart away from
- 8:18God. Compromise became normal, and eventually
- 8:22idolatry entered Israel. This is serious because
- 8:24it teaches us something. A person can be incredibly
- 8:27gifted and still slowly drift spiritually. Look
- 8:30at Noah, a righteous man, a survivor of judgment,
- 8:34a man used by God to preserve humanity. Yet drunkenness
- 8:38exposed vulnerability. and weakness entered his
- 8:41house through lack of sobriety. And if we are
- 8:43honest, we still see this pattern today. Pastors
- 8:46falling publicly, leaders collapsing publicly,
- 8:49ministries destroyed publicly, marriages destroyed
- 8:52publicly, businesses destroyed publicly, people
- 8:55who once inspired millions becoming headlines
- 8:57overnight. And we must be careful not to become
- 9:00arrogant while discussing this. Because this
- 9:02is not about saying, we are better than them.
- 9:05No. This is a warning for every single one of
- 9:08us. Without prayer, without accountability, without
- 9:11humility, without discipline, without the Holy
- 9:14Spirit, any human being can fall. And I believe
- 9:17this is one of Satan's most sophisticated strategies
- 9:20against the Church today. Because sometimes he
- 9:22cannot stop your blessing. So he waits. He waits
- 9:25until you become established, until you relax
- 9:28spiritually, until you become distracted, until
- 9:31prayer weakens, until success creates comfort,
- 9:34until boundaries disappear, until hidden compromise
- 9:37begins. because he understands something many
- 9:40people ignore. The higher the elevation, the
- 9:42greater the impact of the fall. And when spiritual
- 9:45leaders fall publicly, the damage spreads far
- 9:48beyond one individual. Weak believers become
- 9:50discouraged. Unbelievers mock Christianity. Some
- 9:54people walk away from church entirely. Others
- 9:56stop trusting spiritual leadership completely.
- 9:59And Satan uses these public collapses as sophisticated
- 10:02weapons against the body of Christ. This is why
- 10:04sustaining blessings requires vigilance. The
- 10:07higher God elevates you, the more careful you
- 10:09must become. Not fearful, but spiritually watchful.
- 10:13And this is why the fruit of the Spirit matters
- 10:15so much. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
- 10:21goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self -control.
- 10:26These are not weak Christian words. These are
- 10:28protections for destiny, especially self -control.
- 10:32Because many destinies are not destroyed by lack
- 10:34of opportunity, but by lack of self -control.
- 10:38Joseph understood this. When Potiphar's wife
- 10:40tempted him, he ran. Not because temptation was
- 10:44weak, but because Joseph understood something
- 10:46many people forget. Secret compromise can destroy
- 10:50public destiny. And sustaining blessings is not
- 10:53easy. It requires discipline. It requires accountability.
- 10:57It requires daily surrender. It requires prayer,
- 11:01fasting, meditation on the word, humility. and
- 11:05continuous dependence on the Holy Spirit. Because
- 11:08no human being naturally remains humble forever.
- 11:11No human being naturally survives elevation forever
- 11:14by human strength alone. We need God daily. And
- 11:18Psalm 91 says, He who dwells. Because the blessing
- 11:22is attached to the dwelling. The protection is
- 11:25in the dwelling. The peace is in the dwelling.
- 11:28The discernment is in the dwelling. The strength
- 11:31is in the dwelling. Many people want Psalm 91
- 11:34protection while living far away from Psalm 91
- 11:38presence. But our God is a covenant -keeping
- 11:41God, and covenant changes how you live. So today,
- 11:45do not only pray for elevation. Pray for the
- 11:48character to sustain elevation. Pray for integrity.
- 11:52Pray for discernment. Pray for humility. Pray
- 11:55for discipline. Pray for the fear of God. Pray
- 11:58for the strength to remain watchful after success
- 12:00arrives. Because blessings can be received in
- 12:03a moment, but sustaining them is a daily walk
- 12:07with God. Let us pray. Father, in the name of
- 12:11Jesus, we thank you for every blessing, every
- 12:14opportunity, every door, every level, every platform,
- 12:19and every assignment you have trusted us with.
- 12:22But Lord, today we ask for something deeper.
- 12:25Give us the character to sustain what you give
- 12:28us. Protect us from pride. Protect us from distraction
- 12:31after elevation. Protect us from hidden compromise.
- 12:36Protect us from secret weakness. Teach us to
- 12:38remain humble when doors open. Teach us to remain
- 12:41prayerful during success. Teach us to remain
- 12:44disciplined when temptation increases. Holy Spirit,
- 12:48restore spiritual vigilance inside of us. Restore
- 12:51discernment. Restore hunger for your presence.
- 12:54Restore integrity. Restore purity. Restore self
- 12:58-control. And Father, for every tired believer
- 13:02listening today, restore their strength before
- 13:05weakness becomes compromise. Do not allow one
- 13:08moment of distraction to destroy years of obedience.
- 13:11Keep us aligned. Keep us watchful. Keep us dwelling
- 13:15in Your presence. And may the blessings attached
- 13:17to covenant, obedience, discipline, and intimacy
- 13:21with You remain established upon our lives. In
- 13:24Jesus' name, amen. Thank you for joining me today
- 13:29on Pomoja Podcast. And remember, when the strong
- 13:32get tired, they must not run away from God. They
- 13:36must return deeper into His presence. Until next
- 13:39time, stay prayerful, stay watchful, stay aligned,
- 13:43and continue walking in purpose.
