- 0:20Speaker 1: Hello there, everybody. Welcome into JFK Book Reviews. I'm one
- 0:24Speaker 1: of your hosts, Rob Clark, along with me Joe Barelli.
- 0:27Speaker 1: A rare JFK book reviews here. Today, we've got a
- 0:33Speaker 1: good one for you. It kind of ties into something
- 0:36Speaker 1: we've been talking about on the show here recently, and
- 0:39Speaker 1: that is the anti Castro Cuban exile community. Today we're
- 0:44Speaker 1: going to be talking about crime without Punishment by doctor.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Is there a doctor in the house, Doctor Carlos Jay
- 0:56Speaker 1: bring Yer Bringier.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yes, And just to give it a little slap, it
- 1:04Speaker 2: is a little slick, a little fatter than it looks,
- 1:11Speaker 2: about four hundred and forty pages. And I'll let you
- 1:14Speaker 2: give some of the intro information on it and then
- 1:18Speaker 2: I'll get into the meeting taters.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yes, sir. This was published in about December of twenty thirteen.
- 1:31Speaker 1: He barely missed the fiftieth anniversary by a month. He
- 1:35Speaker 1: probably should have had this book out like two months
- 1:37Speaker 1: before it came out and might actually sold some copies,
- 1:41Speaker 1: But I digress. It's been out now for thirteen years
- 1:49Speaker 1: and has a whipping six reviews on Amazon. Yeah, if
- 1:54Speaker 1: that tells you anything, that's pretty bad. It's about four
- 1:58Speaker 1: hundred and fifty pages in length, eighteen chapters, an introduction.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I believe that's about the only thing updated from this book,
- 2:07Speaker 1: which I'll get into in a second published by Author
- 2:11Speaker 1: House Publishing. And basically what this book boils down to,
- 2:17Speaker 1: it is not a rewritten book in any form of fashion.
- 2:22Speaker 1: It is basically a reprint, a rebranding, if you will,
- 2:27Speaker 1: of his nineteen sixty nine book Read Friday, Fred Friday,
- 2:35Speaker 1: Red Friday, which probably didn't sell shit in nineteen sixty
- 2:41Speaker 1: nine either. And this book kind of takes a low
- 2:48Speaker 1: nut lean a little bit, Joe, Yeah, it takes.
- 2:54Speaker 2: A weird lean because the sub title, if you will,
- 2:58Speaker 2: is how Castro Is assassinated President Kennedy and got away
- 3:03Speaker 2: with it, So we kind of expected that type of
- 3:08Speaker 2: lean towards this book. And ironically, Rob Carlos Brigner was
- 3:18Speaker 2: born on June twenty second, nineteen thirty four.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Well, happy birthday, Happy birthday.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yes, a very spry ninety two years old. Definitely someone
- 3:33Speaker 2: that probably knows a lot more than he said, and
- 3:40Speaker 2: probably not going to say anything more. I think this
- 3:42Speaker 2: book was kind of his last kind of ditch effort
- 3:46Speaker 2: to kind of him Yes, and his last you know
- 3:53Speaker 2: take type of thing like you mentioned. There are eighteen chapters.
- 3:59Speaker 2: It starts with his roots in education on communism, exile
- 4:05Speaker 2: in Cuba, Guatemala, Argentina, then Guatemala to Miami, and then
- 4:10Speaker 2: New Orleans where he joined the DRE in I think
- 4:17Speaker 2: it was June sixty two. We'll get there in a second,
- 4:21Speaker 2: and then goes on to his encounter with Lee Harvey Oswalt,
- 4:25Speaker 2: the assassination of President JFK, back to New Orleans for
- 4:29Speaker 2: a few years, then the gas and investigation, and then
- 4:34Speaker 2: twenty seven more years in New Orleans Chapter twelve, then
- 4:38Speaker 2: to Miami for ten years, then back to Texas for
- 4:41Speaker 2: ten years. Lies, lies, more lies. The verdict and conclusion section,
- 4:48Speaker 2: And it's interesting because Brigner, kind of like Semi, argues
- 4:57Speaker 2: that Oswalt was not a genuine Castro supporter. He argues
- 5:02Speaker 2: that Oswalt's proactive pro castro activities were theatrical in nature
- 5:08Speaker 2: rather than sincere, and points to separate unusual facts, including
- 5:14Speaker 2: offering to train Cuban exiles.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Of course, a lot of people familiar with the case
- 5:19Speaker 3: will know he went into bringing a shop offered him
- 5:23Speaker 3: his marine manual, and then a couple of days after that,
- 5:30Speaker 3: was August fifth, encountered Oswalt's handing out fair play for
- 5:35Speaker 3: Cuba leaflets, which then a fracas and fight ensued. A
- 5:44Speaker 3: major argument of the book is Oswalt's behavior is difficult
- 5:48Speaker 3: to explain unless he had some relationship with US intelligence
- 5:52Speaker 3: or intelligence connected individuals. So he stops to know exactly
- 6:00Speaker 3: to say exactly who controlled Oswalt, but argues that the
- 6:04Speaker 3: official loan gunman theory there are major anomalies with and.
- 6:10Speaker 2: He's actually very has a lot of criticism of the
- 6:15Speaker 2: word commission. Important testimony was overlooked, minimized, contradictory evidence ignored.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Investigators failed to seriously explore Oswalt's activities in New Orleans.
- 6:29Speaker 2: It's kind of all over the place. A little bit.
- 6:35Speaker 1: That was like, it sounds like he has no idea
- 6:37Speaker 1: what the hell he's saying.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Right, let me read this part from his introduction.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I hope you can clarify as mindset here.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yes, we're gonna try here. It's hard. I was in
- 6:50Speaker 2: God's hands when I met Lee Harvey Oswalt during the
- 6:53Speaker 2: summer of sixty three in New Orleans, and in this
- 6:56Speaker 2: book I explained to truthfully explain truthfully the activities that
- 7:01Speaker 2: transpired during that period. Many lies and distortions of the
- 7:06Speaker 2: truth have been published about those incidents, which my law
- 7:09Speaker 2: school background, I confront and clarify each one that I've.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Been aware of.
- 7:15Speaker 2: God gave me the opportunity to meet, among others, Lee Harvey, Oswalt,
- 7:20Speaker 2: New Orleans, DA, Jim Gaddison, and movie director Oliver Stone.
- 7:26Speaker 2: God is my witness that I write the truth in
- 7:30Speaker 2: this book. It is time for the United States public
- 7:33Speaker 2: and world public to learn the truth about in caps
- 7:37Speaker 2: quote how Castro assassinated JFK and caps. With my lawyer background,
- 7:45Speaker 2: I always study the background and credibility of a witness.
- 7:48Speaker 2: In this book, you will have the opportunity to do so.
- 7:53Speaker 2: At the same time, you will also be reading events
- 7:56Speaker 2: and anecdotes never published before. Here. You also will have
- 8:00Speaker 2: the opportunity to know me where I come from, and
- 8:02Speaker 2: you could judge if if I am a credible witness.
- 8:07Speaker 2: So interesting, huh, kind of let you know kind of
- 8:15Speaker 2: where he stands there. But I was a little surprised
- 8:21Speaker 2: that he wasn't as gun ho as Oswald, being under the.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Uh influence of cashtro right or a cashtro agent if
- 8:37Speaker 4: you will, so, let's see Let's go seven page one
- 8:48Speaker 4: one two.
- 9:01Speaker 2: In New Orleans, there versus tradition to celebrate a special
- 9:04Speaker 2: Catholic Mass that, if my memory doesn't fail and fail me,
- 9:08Speaker 2: was called Red Mass. The celebration was at the cathedral
- 9:12Speaker 2: and the maximum leaders of the archdiocese were also there,
- 9:17Speaker 2: as well as the mayor, councilmen and other political leaders.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I went to Jackson Square in front of the cathedral
- 9:23Speaker 2: to watch what was going on. I was surprised to
- 9:25Speaker 2: see that there was a demonstration going on organized by
- 9:28Speaker 2: a leftist group. I was there on my own, but
- 9:33Speaker 2: my decision, by my own decision or intuition. I was
- 9:38Speaker 2: neither a CI agent nor an FBI one. I was
- 9:41Speaker 2: just in God's hands. He goes number two, number five.
- 9:52Speaker 2: At the end of nineteen sixty two, I received communications
- 9:56Speaker 2: from Miami directing me that in the afternoon August twenty fourth,
- 10:01Speaker 2: I should contact in New Orleans press and tell them
- 10:04Speaker 2: something big that was going to happen in Cuba that night.
- 10:07Speaker 2: They put it like an important broadcast would be coming
- 10:10Speaker 2: from inside Cuba. I went to New Orleans State Statesmen
- 10:16Speaker 2: and talked to newsman Bill Stuckey, next day was completely different.
- 10:21Speaker 2: A big article appeared in the front page where the
- 10:24Speaker 2: DRI and I were featured. On the night of August
- 10:27Speaker 2: twenty fourth, sixty two, two boats of the Dre had
- 10:31Speaker 2: departed to Havana. When the leader the DRE, Juan Manuel
- 10:39Speaker 2: Savat we have talked about rob on the show recently,
- 10:42Speaker 2: gave the order to fire. They did so with all
- 10:44Speaker 2: their hearts. Sixteen cannon shots were fired, hitting a hotel
- 10:48Speaker 2: where Russian soldiers were staying. Another place that received some
- 10:52Speaker 2: shells was the quote Cuban Institute of People's Friendship. After
- 11:03Speaker 2: the shelling and the article the front page of the
- 11:05Speaker 2: New Orleans item, I became a celebrity among the Cuban
- 11:10Speaker 2: in New Orleans. Unfortunately, I also became a celebrity to others.
- 11:15Speaker 2: If my recollection is not wrong, I believe that it
- 11:17Speaker 2: was after this event that I received in Casa Rocco
- 11:20Speaker 2: the first visit of an FBI agent. Agent apparently was
- 11:24Speaker 2: in charge of Puban affairs of New Orleans, and his
- 11:26Speaker 2: name was Warren C. Debris. Agent Debris was very interested
- 11:34Speaker 2: in knowing the names of other members of the Daria
- 11:36Speaker 2: New Orleans. When I explained him that I was the
- 11:39Speaker 2: only delegate of the Daria New Orleans. Debris believe me.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Debris became irritated and told me that it'd be easy
- 11:47Speaker 2: for the FBI to infiltrate my delegation to find out
- 11:50Speaker 2: what they wanted. My response was, you were losing your
- 11:53Speaker 2: time because I am the only member of the d
- 11:56Speaker 2: in New Orleans. You can't infiltrate the delegation because I
- 11:59Speaker 2: am the only one you would have to infiltrate. Unfortunately,
- 12:04Speaker 2: Debriz was the FBI man New Orleans in New Orleans
- 12:10Speaker 2: to deal with Cuban affairs so interesting that he doesn't
- 12:15Speaker 2: really have nice things to say about Warren Debris here
- 12:25Speaker 2: as sorry as they keep going here. After a few
- 12:34Speaker 2: minutes of conversation, another person came into the store that
- 12:37Speaker 2: now in August fifth, the day when Lee offered his
- 12:44Speaker 2: Marine manual to Carlos. After a few minutes of conversation,
- 12:49Speaker 2: another person came into the store and started browsing around. Finally,
- 12:53Speaker 2: he approached us to introduce himself as Lee. Harvey oswald.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I did not have the slightest idea that this person
- 13:01Speaker 2: was the same that on April tenth, sixty three had
- 13:04Speaker 2: attempted to assassinate General Walker in Dallas. Osen was very
- 13:10Speaker 2: interested in our conversation and he asked me for some
- 13:13Speaker 2: literature against Castro. You mentioned that he had military experience
- 13:17Speaker 2: and offered his services to trade Cuban and gorilla and
- 13:21Speaker 2: commando activities. I explained to Oswalt I did not have
- 13:25Speaker 2: anything to do with military activities. That emphasized to him
- 13:28Speaker 2: that my only activities were around press and propaganda alerting
- 13:33Speaker 2: the American people about the dangers of communism. Let's see
- 13:42Speaker 2: one seventeen.
- 13:44Speaker 1: These three.
- 13:49Speaker 2: When we returned to the First District of Police waiting
- 13:52Speaker 2: for us, there was arrest Suspania. This is after the
- 13:56Speaker 2: practice and they got arrested. Interesting, right, ral Oh yeah.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Mister Ores Panya.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Owner of the Havana Bar, to whom Rolando had given
- 14:10Speaker 2: fifty dollars to pay for the board bonds of Celso Hernandez,
- 14:15Speaker 2: also arrested in the fracas, and myself Miguel Cruz's father
- 14:20Speaker 2: paid for Miguel's bond, and each of us received summons
- 14:23Speaker 2: to appear August twelfth. As we were leaving the First
- 14:31Speaker 2: District of Police, I felt satisfied because I had taken
- 14:33Speaker 2: a stance against the defender of Fidel Castro, but I
- 14:37Speaker 2: had felt impressed by the cold blood demonstrated by Lee
- 14:41Speaker 2: Harvey Oswalt. I was worry about the plans that the
- 14:48Speaker 2: FPCC Fair Play for Cuba Committee and New Orleans Council
- 14:52Speaker 2: for Peaceful Alternatives and Lee Oswalt could have for New Orleans.
- 14:57Speaker 2: That night of August ninth, I received phone call from
- 15:01Speaker 2: Frank Bartes, who at the moment was the New Orleans
- 15:05Speaker 2: delegate of the c RC, and was asking me to
- 15:09Speaker 2: attend a meeting at the house of doctor Augustine Quetart
- 15:14Speaker 2: at the reunion, which was attended by ten or more Cubans,
- 15:19Speaker 2: among them Romiro Montelavlo, who was a member of the
- 15:26Speaker 2: twenty five or six Brigade. At the meeting, it was
- 15:28Speaker 2: approved emotion to give all of their support, which would
- 15:31Speaker 2: be sending a delegation to the trial in solidarity with us.
- 15:37Speaker 2: So interesting when you talk about a lot of the
- 15:45Speaker 2: important Cuban exiles that were attending the I guess it
- 15:50Speaker 2: was the August twelfth hearing that was decided in the
- 15:56Speaker 2: night of the ninth. So there are interesting tidbits in here.
- 16:02Speaker 2: A lot of it is propaganda, A lot of it.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I am now going to skip kind of through a
- 16:10Speaker 2: lot of this and go towards the end. Here, he states,
- 16:25Speaker 2: I have never received any money from any agency. I
- 16:31Speaker 2: never worked for the CIA or the FBI or any
- 16:33Speaker 2: other agency of the government of the United States. I
- 16:35Speaker 2: have never received any money from any agency of the
- 16:39Speaker 2: government of the United States. I have never received any
- 16:41Speaker 2: money from the DRE. The pro castro, distorters of the truth,
- 16:48Speaker 2: or just ignorant will never be able to prove otherwise,
- 16:51Speaker 2: because it is impossible to prove something that never happened.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Do you believe that, rob Yeah, it could be true.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Look, I believe Look, and we know the CIA was
- 17:07Speaker 1: funding the DRE to the tune of twenty five to
- 17:10Speaker 1: fifty thousand dollars a month, right, twenty five thousand for operations,
- 17:15Speaker 1: twenty five thousand towards propaganda. And I am quite sure
- 17:21Speaker 1: that the big swinging Dixon the DRE were not dispensing
- 17:27Speaker 1: this money in the fashion that they should have been.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Which would have been Rocca Salvat the likes of them.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Correct. Yeah, I think they saw an opportunity for themselves
- 17:40Speaker 1: to get rich. And I'll be damned. Delegates like Carlos
- 17:44Speaker 1: Brigner in New Orleans and doubtless others, you know, all
- 17:49Speaker 1: across the globe for the DRE. I'm sure they didn't.
- 17:54Speaker 1: They never saw a dime. Yeah, I mean, hence the
- 17:59Speaker 1: reason they're selling bonds in New Orleans, you know, raids. Yeah,
- 18:06Speaker 1: and the CRC was doing the same thing. They're doing
- 18:09Speaker 1: their own fundraising in New Orleans. And fun fact, Carlos
- 18:14Speaker 1: Brine was part of the CRC before he was the
- 18:17Speaker 1: loan delegate in the DRE in New Orleans, and many
- 18:21Speaker 1: of his friends also former CRC members.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:26Speaker 1: So when we're talking about this small dichotomy of anti
- 18:31Speaker 1: Castro Cuban exiles in New Orleans, they all knew each other.
- 18:36Speaker 1: They were all friends. And just because Carlos was the
- 18:42Speaker 1: loan delegate of the DRE in New Orleans doesn't mean
- 18:46Speaker 1: he still wasn't talking to all these other former CRC guys.
- 18:50Speaker 1: They're still his friends, they still get together, they still talk.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:54Speaker 1: And his shop is right next to Oris Paine's bar.
- 18:58Speaker 2: They're all the same click.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Yeah, will they all know each other?
- 19:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 1: For this to be some big revelation, I don't doubt it.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I don't doubt it that he wasn't seeing anything from
- 19:11Speaker 1: the the head Honchos of the dr in Miami.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and if for some reason he was, it would
- 19:17Speaker 2: have been minimal, right, maybe like some expenses reimbursed. I
- 19:22Speaker 2: don't know.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I doubt I doubt it. But like I said, if
- 19:26Speaker 1: he was, then he was getting paid by the CIA.
- 19:31Speaker 1: But yes, yeah, yeah, I mean I noticed in this
- 19:36Speaker 1: book he goes out of his way to profess the truth.
- 19:44Speaker 1: According to Carlos Bringa, I am not a liar. I
- 19:47Speaker 1: am telling the truth. You know, that does protest too much, Carlos.
- 19:56Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like when somebody when you're
- 20:00Speaker 1: having a conversation with somebody and they're telling you stories
- 20:03Speaker 1: and they keep saying, oh s where did God this happened?
- 20:05Speaker 1: This is absolutely true? The chances are it ain't fucking true, right,
- 20:12Speaker 1: I mean, if you have to keep re asserting the
- 20:15Speaker 1: fact that, oh this is the truth, this is the
- 20:17Speaker 1: way it really went down. I swear, I swear on
- 20:19Speaker 1: the God, I swear on the kids. You know.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Yeah, come on, man, Yeah, last thing I'm going to
- 20:28Speaker 2: read here before I hand it off for you. Do
- 20:30Speaker 2: you are reading? And this is from the conclusion part.
- 20:34Speaker 2: The reader has been able to read from memos of
- 20:37Speaker 2: the CIA, and he did include a couple memos and
- 20:41Speaker 2: some of his correspondents with you know it was a
- 20:45Speaker 2: congressman or some people. He does deny ever knowing Joe
- 20:50Speaker 2: Anides or E. Howard Hunt, just in case anyone was wondering,
- 20:57Speaker 2: that Fidel Castro organized very groups in order to assassinate
- 21:02Speaker 2: President JFK. That Lee Harvey Oswalt was under the control
- 21:06Speaker 2: of the Cuban intelligence services. That Lee Harvey Oswalt assassinated
- 21:11Speaker 2: President JFK and tried to escape, that a high ranking
- 21:14Speaker 2: Cuban intelligence officer was waiting for him at Redbird Airport
- 21:19Speaker 2: in Dallas. That the Fair Play for Cuba Committee in Tampa,
- 21:22Speaker 2: Florida was also, through some of its members, very much
- 21:26Speaker 2: involved in the assassination plots against JFK. That Jack Ruby
- 21:30Speaker 2: was not a patriotic mourner, but a friend of mafia
- 21:35Speaker 2: boss Santos Traficante and a double agent working for Fidel Castro.
- 21:41Speaker 2: He's talking about Santo there. During all these years, I
- 21:45Speaker 2: had the doubt in my mind of who really was
- 21:48Speaker 2: that CIA agent was a bernard An agent. I meant
- 21:52Speaker 2: in December sixty three, when my sister Maria was brought
- 21:56Speaker 2: to Germany to rescue her son. At this writing, the
- 22:03Speaker 2: assassination President Kennedy was around fifty years ago. Detect Dictator
- 22:08Speaker 2: Fidel Castro converted in a cynical predator old man, maintained
- 22:17Speaker 2: his power in Cuba and is the longest dictatorship registered
- 22:22Speaker 2: in this hemisphere. The United States of America is sliding
- 22:26Speaker 2: rapidly into socialism. Lee Harvey Oswalt would have had the
- 22:33Speaker 2: would have had feeling as great as this moment as
- 22:38Speaker 2: he did when he shot those three bullets from the
- 22:43Speaker 2: sixth floor window on November twenty second, sixty three. So
- 22:49Speaker 2: he thinks Lee Harvey Oswall did it. He thinks the
- 22:52Speaker 2: Cubans were behind that. There's a lot going on here
- 22:59Speaker 2: and this well, some things I expected to read, Rob.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Some thing's surprised me a little bit, but pretty much
- 23:10Speaker 2: what I expected. So I'm going to hand it to
- 23:13Speaker 2: you for your your rating, sir, You did.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Nothing about this book makes sense. So you know when
- 23:25Speaker 1: he says Castro is behind it. But Lee Harvey Oswald
- 23:33Speaker 1: wasn't alone. Nut that he was working in concert with
- 23:36Speaker 1: Cuban intelligence. I'm assuming on behalf of Castro at the
- 23:41Speaker 1: behest of Castro. And you just said, you know, he
- 23:45Speaker 1: believes Lee Harvey Oswald shot three bullets at Kennedy and
- 23:48Speaker 1: killed him. So how is he not alone?
- 23:52Speaker 2: Note?
- 23:55Speaker 1: I mean, obviously he thinks Oswald did it. Whether or
- 23:57Speaker 1: not Oswald's allegiance was to Castro or not, it doesn't
- 24:03Speaker 1: really make sense.
- 24:05Speaker 2: It does not.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Crime without punishment the title of the book. Well, Lee
- 24:11Speaker 1: Harvey Oswald certainly got a punishment, that is true. He
- 24:15Speaker 1: got a death sentence, yes, And you know, talking about Castro, well,
- 24:26Speaker 1: you know, this country allowed him to live a long, long, long,
- 24:32Speaker 1: long life. Okay. You know, we could have taken them
- 24:36Speaker 1: out at any point in time, very quickly, very swiftly,
- 24:42Speaker 1: and for whatever reason, we chose not to dick around
- 24:45Speaker 1: with him. We were okay with communists living ninety miles
- 24:50Speaker 1: off our shore, a dictator that treated people like shit,
- 24:54Speaker 1: ninety miles off our shore, and apparently we still are
- 24:57Speaker 1: okay with that way of living. You know, I watch
- 25:03Speaker 1: a lot of YouTube. Yeah, you know, whatever, but I
- 25:09Speaker 1: see these influencers. If you will go to Cuba and
- 25:18Speaker 1: like actually go around in neighborhoods where people really live,
- 25:21Speaker 1: not like the touristy spots, right, and Cuba is a shithole.
- 25:29Speaker 1: It is a decaying, crumbling, trash filled shithole unless you're
- 25:39Speaker 1: very near certain parts of the tourist industry, like the
- 25:45Speaker 1: hotels in Havana, they don't allow local people to stay there,
- 25:50Speaker 1: Like you couldn't get a room there if you wanted one.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Tourists only a lot of the there's a lot of
- 26:00Speaker 1: homelessness and the living conditions there are abhorrent and it's trifling. Man,
- 26:12Speaker 1: You know that we allow this so close to us.
- 26:16Speaker 1: But back to the book again, I think this was
- 26:21Speaker 1: a half asked effort to update Red Friday from nineteen
- 26:25Speaker 1: sixty nine. And look, Briga can frame this however you want.
- 26:37Speaker 1: But and it's interesting that he said that he never
- 26:41Speaker 1: met Joe and Needs because certain people will tell you.
- 26:47Speaker 1: But oh no, George, Joe and Needes. You know he
- 26:50Speaker 1: spent he spent some time in New Orleans. You know,
- 26:53Speaker 1: obviously he would have been meeting with Dre delegate, right,
- 26:56Speaker 1: since that's who he's over top of, you think, right,
- 26:59Speaker 1: Joe obviously obviously, But apparently not was Joe and Edie
- 27:04Speaker 1: ever even in New Orleans? Doubtful? Doubtful. I mean, if
- 27:13Speaker 1: he was, you think he would have made contact with
- 27:17Speaker 1: Brina and bring a just lying which wouldn't shock me either.
- 27:22Speaker 1: But I think Brignia is full of shit on a
- 27:25Speaker 1: lot of things. And it certainly seems to me, like
- 27:30Speaker 1: I said, Joe, the more we look at this thing,
- 27:32Speaker 1: that tight knit friend group of anti Castro Cuban exiles
- 27:39Speaker 1: in New Orleans, I think saw an opportunity with Oswald
- 27:44Speaker 1: all right to take out Kennedy and also blame it
- 27:49Speaker 1: on a Castro supporter. And I think these guys were smart.
- 27:55Speaker 1: They were they were calculating, they were very good at
- 27:59Speaker 1: planning things, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were
- 28:05Speaker 1: the ones behind the assassination. And of course he's not
- 28:10Speaker 1: going to come out ever and say that. And apparently
- 28:12Speaker 1: he's still on this side of the dirt, Joe at
- 28:16Speaker 1: age ninety two, still eleven, still alive allegedly as far
- 28:21Speaker 1: as we know at the taping of this book review.
- 28:27Speaker 1: So you know, with that being said, you would think
- 28:34Speaker 1: and you would hope that after fifty years of reflection,
- 28:41Speaker 1: you would get a little bit more, especially as many
- 28:45Speaker 1: documents as were released in the nineties and early two thousands,
- 28:50Speaker 1: for him to go back and do a little research
- 28:52Speaker 1: and revise maybe some things of his conclusions, but no,
- 28:57Speaker 1: this book has the exact same conclusion that I did
- 29:00Speaker 1: in nineteen sixty nine when it was called Red Friday.
- 29:04Speaker 1: And I've never been a fan of Carlos Bregnier. I've
- 29:09Speaker 1: never trusted or believed anything he's ever said. I think
- 29:13Speaker 1: he's a pompa's ass and a right wing scumbagh. With
- 29:22Speaker 1: that being said, Joe, I think I'm gonna give this
- 29:26Speaker 1: book for what.
- 29:28Speaker 2: It is.
- 29:31Speaker 1: And what it was A two guns up.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Oh all right, sir, Well, you know, I think whatever
- 29:49Speaker 2: value that could be ascertained from this book comes into
- 29:55Speaker 2: getting into the mind of Carlos.
- 29:59Speaker 1: His.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Thoughts on communism, his time in Guatemala, Argentina, Miami, New Orleans,
- 30:11Speaker 2: you know, some of his thoughts on Garrison investigation. I
- 30:16Speaker 2: think if you are really, really, really interested in the
- 30:20Speaker 2: Cuban exile angle, there could be some things in here
- 30:25Speaker 2: that could be of interest and value to you. But
- 30:30Speaker 2: like when we talked about, or when you talked about
- 30:34Speaker 2: the previous book on Fabian Escalante right the Cuban Files,
- 30:40Speaker 2: last book review, how much can you trust here? Because
- 30:44Speaker 2: everyone has their own agendas. He's still you know, on
- 30:50Speaker 2: his you know horse about having communists ninety miles off
- 30:57Speaker 2: our shore. I feel like he only he almost tries
- 31:03Speaker 2: to take like a sympathetic type of a more sympathetic
- 31:08Speaker 2: than some Cuban exiles. And maybe people on a jam
- 31:13Speaker 2: wave did based on President Kennedy. Now, whether that's trying
- 31:19Speaker 2: to balance it out sell copies, I don't know. I
- 31:23Speaker 2: haven't been able to really figure that out yet. I
- 31:27Speaker 2: do think there are some interesting parts. I think there
- 31:30Speaker 2: are some things you can kind of glean from his outlook,
- 31:36Speaker 2: you know what was it fifty five almost fifty five
- 31:40Speaker 2: years later? But again, how much can you trust? And
- 31:45Speaker 2: that's my problem with this, how much can you trust?
- 31:49Speaker 2: It seems like a book that's sixty percent propaganda at least.
- 31:59Speaker 2: So with that being said, I'm just going to give
- 32:02Speaker 2: it a four guns up because if you are interested
- 32:07Speaker 2: in bringing a I think it could give you some
- 32:09Speaker 2: interesting insights. But then again, what can you really trust
- 32:12Speaker 2: about it? Impossible to really tell.
- 32:17Speaker 1: But Regenitor the shit starter, because you gotta understand the
- 32:29Speaker 1: CRC dissolved in nineteen sixty two, just after the Bay
- 32:33Speaker 1: of Pigs after the cup Missile crisis. The CRC kind
- 32:35Speaker 1: of goes away, kind of just banned. The dre is
- 32:41Speaker 1: formed in the early sixties by the CIA, and Carlos
- 32:48Speaker 1: is the only one who wants to keep flying this
- 32:52Speaker 1: this flag, right, He's none of the other guys joined
- 32:55Speaker 1: the DR. They're all like at this point, I right,
- 32:58Speaker 1: fuck it, you know we you know, we try, We're
- 33:01Speaker 1: moving on, right. But Carlos is still very idealistic, very
- 33:09Speaker 1: opposed to Castro, still very pissed off about everything, still
- 33:14Speaker 1: very anti Communist in his ideals, and believes in it
- 33:19Speaker 1: enough to become the only DR delegate in New Orleans.
- 33:27Speaker 1: That tells me a whole hell of a lot. You know,
- 33:32Speaker 1: I can see him stirring his buddy's up very much,
- 33:36Speaker 1: especially after the whole Oswald confrontation, you know, getting them
- 33:40Speaker 1: all routed up. Man, we got to do something, We
- 33:42Speaker 1: got to do something, you know. So I don't know,
- 33:50Speaker 1: I just don't know.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm right there with you. I think there is some,
- 33:57Speaker 2: like I said, some value to kind of getting into
- 34:01Speaker 2: his head and maybe getting some details. But you don't
- 34:04Speaker 2: have to be very very involved in the Cuban exile
- 34:09Speaker 2: theory to really try to get some good tibits out
- 34:13Speaker 2: of this, and even if so, what can you really trust?
- 34:19Speaker 1: Agreed? All right? This book is selling for around thirty
- 34:24Speaker 1: twenty to thirty bucks depending on paperback or hardcover on Amazon.
