- 0:00Speaker 1: The bench with jacob hester and matt flynn let's go
- 0:03Speaker 1: baby let's go from a championship backfield to your morning
- 0:07Speaker 1: drive hands.
- 0:08Speaker 2: To hester and hester got it five out of.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Five you're locked in to off the bench live from
- 0:19Speaker 1: the raising cane studio here's jacob hester and matt flynn.
- 0:42Speaker 3: One man OTB here live from the Raising Cane studio.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Wolfpack all here. Jake, Flynn, Alondra, Tay-Tay back with us.
- 0:57Speaker 4: How we doing? How we living? Oh, we're doing just fine.
- 1:00Speaker 4: We are doing just fine.
- 1:03Speaker 5: It's, uh, Thursday, got football on tonight, even though it's
- 1:07Speaker 5: kind of a poo game. It's all right.
- 1:11Speaker 4: It's all right.
- 1:12Speaker 3: We'll watch.
- 1:12Speaker 6: We have two good ones in a row.
- 1:13Speaker 4: We'll watch.
- 1:14Speaker 3: We'll watch hard. We'll watch Michael Penix Jr. I'm excited
- 1:19Speaker 3: to see that. Makes it a little bit better. Yeah,
- 1:20Speaker 3: it makes it more exciting.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Cooper Rush. Or Tua. Or Tua. Or Jack Strand or
- 1:25Speaker 4: any of the other quarterbacks.
- 1:26Speaker 6: It's week three, and this is their third quarterback they're
- 1:28Speaker 6: playing already.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Not ideal.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Not great. It's not ideal. Well, this is the one
- 1:35Speaker 4: we like.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Two is not even one of the quarterbacks that have played.
- 1:38Speaker 6: The guy you signed to be your starter is not
- 1:40Speaker 6: one of the three quarterbacks that has played yet.
- 1:44Speaker 7: Everyone just point a laugh at the Falcons for a
- 1:46Speaker 7: second because that.
- 1:47Speaker 8: Is just so damn funny to me. Dang funny.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Very classic Falcons. I think this is the one, though,
- 1:55Speaker 4: that they want to play more. Yes.
- 1:57Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:58Speaker 6: First two games.
- 1:59Speaker 5: So we're saying they didn't even count. Yeah, I'm not
- 2:02Speaker 5: sure if his knees want him to play anymore.
- 2:04Speaker 3: They took him eighth overall.
- 2:07Speaker 8: He didn't say it couldn't happen.
- 2:09Speaker 4: He did not say that it could not happen. They
- 2:13Speaker 4: took him eighth overall.
- 2:15Speaker 3: When they had a quarterback they had just signed in
- 2:17Speaker 3: that offseason to a big contract.
- 2:19Speaker 5: We're going to go ahead and need you to play.
- 2:22Speaker 5: What is it you say you do here?
- 2:25Speaker 8: What is your role?
- 2:27Speaker 3: Define your role for us. Uh-huh.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Well, I like to practice. I love it. Games, not
- 2:34Speaker 4: so much.
- 2:37Speaker 6: It is.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I came back and I was telling you how bad
- 2:41Speaker 3: their practice was during training camp. And it is playing
- 2:45Speaker 3: out to be just that. The one that was most
- 2:48Speaker 3: impressive to me was the Chiefs.
- 2:50Speaker 4: And the Bills.
- 2:52Speaker 3: They were both 2-0. The Falcons and the Browns were
- 2:56Speaker 3: probably the ones that I was like, eh.
- 2:59Speaker 4: They got one win. Brown's got one.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 5: And Munkin did not like Brown's going to Brown. And
- 3:07Speaker 5: I'm trying to think, because somebody said it.
- 3:08Speaker 4: It was Tomlin.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Tomlin?
- 3:10Speaker 5: They were talking about it Sunday night. Now, I think
- 3:11Speaker 5: a lot of people said that. Thousands upon thousands of
- 3:14Speaker 5: media members across the world said it. Yeah, but when
- 3:16Speaker 5: a former head coach like that, that you probably have
- 3:18Speaker 5: a lot of respect for, says it.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:21Speaker 4: It gets back to you. It probably made Munkin kind
- 3:23Speaker 4: of sad.
- 3:25Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 4: But, I mean, they were his division rival. Of course
- 3:27Speaker 4: he's going to say it. He didn't.
- 3:29Speaker 5: Tomlin doesn't like the Browns. It's part of the reason
- 3:34Speaker 5: why they stunk for so long.
- 3:37Speaker 4: I loved it.
- 3:38Speaker 5: Tomlin actually took a little credit for their win.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Did he?
- 3:40Speaker 4: Yeah. He's like, you're welcome for giving you a little
- 3:42Speaker 4: bulletin board material. Okay.
- 3:45Speaker 3: The AFC North, more than, I mean, maybe more than
- 3:49Speaker 3: any division, just doesn't like each other very much.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Yeah, and they shouldn't.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Like, every team that plays hates each other. And that's
- 3:56Speaker 3: a good thing. That's a good thing. No, I love Port.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Yeah. I love. I'd love hating the Raiders and the Chiefs.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Nobody really hates that coach for the Bengals, though. Zach Taylor? Yeah,
- 4:09Speaker 4: nobody really cares. I think they're surprised he's there. Yeah,
- 4:12Speaker 4: he's like, oh, good, you're still here. You're the most
- 4:15Speaker 4: tenured fella here.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I mean, although they look pretty awesome.
- 4:22Speaker 6: I was like that. Let's wait and see on their defense.
- 4:25Speaker 6: Their defense is legit.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I mean, the.
- 4:27Speaker 6: Additions they made in that offseason are paying off big time.
- 4:31Speaker 3: It was probably the conversation on NFL radio that we
- 4:35Speaker 3: had the most is, okay, you got these teams that
- 4:37Speaker 3: have a quarterback and an offense, and they were horrid
- 4:40Speaker 3: on defense. Which one can... The Cowboys were in the conversation.
- 4:44Speaker 3: The Commanders were in the conversation. The Bengals certainly were
- 4:46Speaker 3: in that conversation. The Giants. And we went back and forth,
- 4:50Speaker 3: and I was like, the Bengals made some good moves
- 4:54Speaker 3: on all three levels. Now... For the Bengals, they had
- 4:56Speaker 3: some young linebackers that were bad because they were rookies.
- 5:00Speaker 3: They were young and dumb, like we all were in
- 5:01Speaker 3: the NFL. You don't know any better. You're just trying
- 5:04Speaker 3: to not screw up. And they put a lot of
- 5:06Speaker 3: faith into those players and didn't sign any veterans, and
- 5:10Speaker 3: that's paid off for them too, at least for Demetrius Knight.
- 5:12Speaker 4: He's played awesome. Yeah, it's paid off to them up
- 5:17Speaker 4: to this point.
- 5:17Speaker 5: And I hope they maintain it. I hope they can
- 5:22Speaker 5: stay healthy. They've kind of proven the last couple of
- 5:25Speaker 5: years that it's hard for them to stay healthy, but
- 5:28Speaker 5: they do. I mean, it's been a while that Joe
- 5:32Speaker 5: has been healthy, and it looks like they at least
- 5:36Speaker 5: have a complete team around him.
- 5:37Speaker 4: So we'll see. As Joe Burrow fans, we'll be cheering on.
- 5:41Speaker 4: I don't know. I like two teams in the AFC North.
- 5:48Speaker 4: And Jamar. Yes. Shout out Jamar.
- 5:50Speaker 8: Shout out to Jamar.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Yeah. Did you end up trading him? No.
- 5:55Speaker 7: I'm like, you want me to give you the person
- 5:57Speaker 7: that scored me the most points last week?
- 5:59Speaker 8: Why would I do that? My entire bench on fantasy
- 6:01Speaker 8: football is injured right now.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Whoever you were talking to seemed disrespected.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:08Speaker 4: You're not going to do what?
- 6:13Speaker 7: And then he said something about my team being not good.
- 6:16Speaker 7: And I was like, you're definitely not going to get
- 6:17Speaker 7: him with that attitude.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Not the way to my heart.
- 6:20Speaker 3: No.
- 6:21Speaker 8: But yeah, my entire bench is injured.
- 6:25Speaker 4: It's okay.
- 6:26Speaker 8: Everybody stand in solidarity with me.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Hey, it's going to be fine. It's a long season.
- 6:31Speaker 4: A lot of season. A lot of football to be played.
- 6:36Speaker 8: I didn't like the way that sounded when you said
- 6:37Speaker 8: it on Monday.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it didn't sound great.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I know.
- 6:43Speaker 8: So much football left.
- 6:43Speaker 4: So much football. There's ten games. Yeah. Nine.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Nine.
- 6:51Speaker 4: I forgot about a lot of tech. My bad.
- 6:54Speaker 3: That's on me. That's on me.
- 6:57Speaker 6: It still counts as a game, Matt.
- 6:59Speaker 4: I don't count them.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I don't do it.
- 7:00Speaker 4: We're in the Sun Belt, man.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Come on.
- 7:03Speaker 4: I like the Sun Belt.
- 7:05Speaker 6: LSU was almost in the Sun Belt.
- 7:07Speaker 4: That is a good point.
- 7:07Speaker 6: I mean, come on, Matt.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Come on now. Come on now.
- 7:10Speaker 6: For like three days, it was like our destiny.
- 7:13Speaker 3: I love the Sun Belt. On a Wednesday night in November.
- 7:17Speaker 6: So does Miami. Why does Miami never play on Saturdays?
- 7:20Speaker 6: They haven't played on Saturday yet this year.
- 7:24Speaker 4: I don't know. That's a good point.
- 7:26Speaker 6: They've been Friday, Thursday, Friday. Do you want to be
- 7:29Speaker 6: a Mac school that bad?
- 7:31Speaker 4: You're Miami.
- 7:31Speaker 6: You're supposed to be a big-time brand. Why are you
- 7:33Speaker 6: not on Saturday?
- 7:34Speaker 4: That's an interesting observation. Didn't think about this.
- 7:37Speaker 6: Me and Alondra were talking about it when y'all were
- 7:38Speaker 6: at Rouse's last week.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Huh.
- 7:41Speaker 6: Because we were looking at the parlays. She's like, they're
- 7:43Speaker 6: on Friday again? And we went back and looked. Friday, Thursday, Friday.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Now, does the school schedule that? Do they plan that out?
- 7:51Speaker 5: Or is it a TV thing?
- 7:52Speaker 6: Oh, no. I was thinking, does it have something to
- 7:56Speaker 6: do with them sharing the stadium with the Dolphins?
- 7:59Speaker 4: Hmm. Well, I'm sure they're not. They hadn't been at
- 8:01Speaker 4: home for all three games. No, I mean. They were
- 8:05Speaker 4: away on one of them.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I remember.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think it matters. I don't think that matters.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Maybe for Miami, they're thinking, let's get on some standalone nights.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 6: Yeah, they've been away twice.
- 8:19Speaker 5: They've been away twice. They can't be the ones that
- 8:22Speaker 5: schedule that. It's got to be a TV thing.
- 8:27Speaker 3: I think you have to agree to that, though.
- 8:29Speaker 4: I don't think they can tell you you're playing.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Right?
- 8:32Speaker 4: On a Friday?
- 8:32Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 8:34Speaker 4: NFL tells you when you're playing on Monday.
- 8:37Speaker 8: Conference games are from the conference.
- 8:41Speaker 7: And then non-conference games, individual school athletic directors and coaches book.
- 8:46Speaker 8: Their non-conference games.
- 8:48Speaker 7: And then once games are set, the TV networks coordinate
- 8:52Speaker 7: with the conference and the school. to select game times
- 8:55Speaker 7: and broadcast slots.
- 8:56Speaker 3: So it's a little bit of everybody. And we'd like
- 8:59Speaker 3: for you to play on a Friday night.
- 9:01Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 9:02Speaker 3: We'd really like for you to play on.
- 9:04Speaker 4: A Friday night. I don't know.
- 9:09Speaker 5: Maybe it kind of started with them just because they
- 9:10Speaker 5: can't draw anybody on a Saturday afternoon.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Probably. Maybe Friday they can get some people. Friday's reserved for, like,
- 9:18Speaker 3: the West Canaan Coyotes.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, too. Miami's got some good.
- 9:22Speaker 4: High school football.
- 9:23Speaker 6: Miami Central High School. That's the Friday night game.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Be better, Miami. How about Saturday? They do look pretty good. Whispers.
- 9:35Speaker 4: They look pretty good. When do they play Notre Dame?
- 9:38Speaker 6: They actually play Saturday the rest of the year.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Not the point, though, Matt. Not the point. That ruins
- 9:44Speaker 4: the narrative.
- 9:45Speaker 8: We're going to ignore that.
- 9:48Speaker 4: We're going to ignore what the rest.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Of the year was.
- 9:49Speaker 6: I'm talking up to week four they hadn't played.
- 9:52Speaker 5: When do they play Notre Dame? Because I want them
- 9:53Speaker 5: to beat them by 112. They play Notre Dame on
- 9:55Speaker 5: November the 8th.
- 10:00Speaker 1: 7th.
- 10:00Speaker 4: I'll be tuned into that one.
- 10:03Speaker 3: It's their only ranked game they have all year.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Miami. Yeah.
- 10:09Speaker 3: One.
- 10:10Speaker 4: I will be hate watching that hard. That almost makes
- 10:15Speaker 4: me angry.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:17Speaker 4: It makes me very angry. LSU will play more ranked.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Teams in these two weeks than Miami will play all year.
- 10:26Speaker 5: And they're graded on the same curve. Yeah, they all
- 10:31Speaker 5: feed into the same playoff system. It is not fair.
- 10:36Speaker 4: It's cowardly.
- 10:36Speaker 6: How do you get that while playing in a conference?
- 10:39Speaker 6: Because we crap on Notre Dame all the time.
- 10:41Speaker 3: I get it.
- 10:41Speaker 4: They have two?
- 10:42Speaker 3: I will say for Miami... They have Clemson and Florida
- 10:47Speaker 3: State on their schedule. Those two teams just happen to
- 10:50Speaker 3: be bad now.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Oh, Miami? Yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm fine. Miami's in a conference. Whatever.
- 10:57Speaker 4: It's fine. I'm good with that.
- 10:59Speaker 3: I was talking about Miami. They have one in Notre Dame.
- 11:02Speaker 3: That's their ranked game. Oh, well, Notre Dame's the same thing.
- 11:06Speaker 3: In the opposite direction. They have two.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Who? Actually, three.
- 11:12Speaker 3: But two top ten matchups on their schedule. Miami being
- 11:15Speaker 3: one of them and BYU being the other. BYU's number nine.
- 11:19Speaker 6: I think it's coming up, isn't it?
- 11:25Speaker 4: That is October the 17th. So, coming up-ish.
- 11:32Speaker 8: Can't believe it's almost October.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Don't you turn a Notre Dame hate session into hating
- 11:35Speaker 4: somebody else.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Well, to your point, though, at least Miami is in
- 11:39Speaker 3: a conference. They can't help that Clemson and Florida State.
- 11:43Speaker 8: Aren't good.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Yeah, because if you'd looked at that years ago, you'd
- 11:46Speaker 3: be like, we got Clemson and Florida State back-to-back weeks? Yeah.
- 11:49Speaker 4: My God. Not so much anymore.
- 11:52Speaker 7: No.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Not so much.
- 11:54Speaker 8: Both pretty bad, especially Clemson.
- 11:57Speaker 3: For Notre Dame, it goes Purdue, North Carolina, Stanford, BYU, Navy, Miami,
- 12:02Speaker 3: Boston College.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Here they're salty this year. SMU and Syracuse.
- 12:09Speaker 5: Now, no Clemson. Ended up pulling one out. But do
- 12:15Speaker 5: we think that Tabba makes it?
- 12:16Speaker 8: It's North Carolina.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Do we think he makes it to the end of
- 12:20Speaker 4: the season?
- 12:21Speaker 8: I think so.
- 12:22Speaker 7: I think they let him decide that he's going to
- 12:26Speaker 7: step away from the program.
- 12:27Speaker 4: They'll mutually part ways.
- 12:30Speaker 3: How would you feel if you weren't the head coach
- 12:32Speaker 3: here anymore?
- 12:33Speaker 8: What if we moved on?
- 12:34Speaker 4: Just thinking out loud. We'll give you a great position,
- 12:39Speaker 4: nice office. But you won't do anything.
- 12:44Speaker 6: I got Cal tomorrow, and I think Cal is actually
- 12:48Speaker 6: a favorite in that game because Clemson's got to go
- 12:51Speaker 6: all the way on the other side. If they lose
- 12:53Speaker 6: that and get blown out by Miami, that's going to
- 12:55Speaker 6: be tough.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 3: It's at Cal, Miami, Charleston Southern, Virginia Tech at home,
- 13:02Speaker 3: at Florida State, at Syracuse, Georgia Tech at home, at Duke,
- 13:06Speaker 3: South Carolina at home.
- 13:07Speaker 6: Virginia Tech's not ranked, but they've looked good.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Yeah. Florida State at Florida State would be tough, too.
- 13:13Speaker 5: I'm so upset with Bill Belichick and his man boobs
- 13:16Speaker 5: not finishing the job this past weekend. Oh, because you
- 13:23Speaker 5: blew the pontoon parlay? I did blow the pontoon parlay.
- 13:25Speaker 4: You blew it. Now I'm mad about that.
- 13:27Speaker 8: Are you the only one that didn't hit?
- 13:28Speaker 4: Yep. Yeah, we're perfect. No, Bill Belichick did not hit
- 13:32Speaker 4: for us.
- 13:34Speaker 8: Funny how that works.
- 13:35Speaker 4: I know. I know. I even went money line with mine.
- 13:39Speaker 3: I said Mississippi State's going to win.
- 13:42Speaker 4: That was obvious.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Not just cover.
- 13:44Speaker 5: That was clear. They were a five-point dog. Yeah, but
- 13:49Speaker 5: Vegas is dumb. We talked about this yesterday.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Who did Mississippi State play? A bad team with a
- 13:56Speaker 4: bad quarterback. Their name is? South Carolina. Say it so Marler.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Omar's not up. No, Marler's not up. Are you kidding me?
- 14:06Speaker 4: Say it so Marler can hear it.
- 14:08Speaker 6: He will come running.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Hey, mamas.
- 14:13Speaker 7: He posted a video doing that yesterday.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Wow. Why did that become his thing?
- 14:18Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 14:19Speaker 4: He loves it.
- 14:20Speaker 7: Yesterday, he said, instead of flew too close to the sun,
- 14:24Speaker 7: he said he rode too close to the sun.
- 14:26Speaker 8: And I said, no, that's not it.
- 14:27Speaker 7: And then in my head, I imagined him on a
- 14:30Speaker 7: motorcycle riding toward the sun. So then I took a
- 14:33Speaker 7: screenshot from his video where he's like, hey, mamas. And
- 14:36Speaker 7: I put it in chat in George Paul Thomas. And
- 14:39Speaker 7: I was like, hey. Put him on a motorcycle riding
- 14:44Speaker 7: toward the sun.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Sure you did.
- 14:45Speaker 8: And they did.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:47Speaker 8: And the way they made it, he was like looking
- 14:49Speaker 8: back at it. He was like this. And I was like,
- 14:53Speaker 8: I took this from your Hey Mama's video.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Oh my gosh. I don't think he'd be on a motorcycle.
- 14:58Speaker 4: I think he's more of a moped.
- 15:00Speaker 8: Probably so. But in my head, that's how. Yeah. Vespa.
- 15:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 8: The electric scooters maybe.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I don't know that his balance is good enough for that, but.
- 15:11Speaker 7: I feel like they shouldn't let athletes get on those
- 15:13Speaker 7: electric scooters.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Those things are... Yeah, I don't know why they did it. Like, say,
- 15:17Speaker 4: I'm a big moped guy. Yeah, me too. From college.
- 15:20Speaker 5: We all had mopeds. That's what we had. We zoomed around.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Was it Yamaha Zooms? Is that what it was?
- 15:29Speaker 4: I said we zoomed around. Zoom, zoom. Zoom, zoom. I
- 15:32Speaker 4: think it was. I think they were called Zooms. Actually,
- 15:33Speaker 4: it might have been. Yeah, we all had mopeds, you know,
- 15:37Speaker 4: like real men.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Now they have the electric scooters.
- 15:41Speaker 3: We were supposed to wear the helmets that were, you know,
- 15:44Speaker 3: certified with the state.
- 15:45Speaker 4: DOT approved. And we wore bicycle helmets.
- 15:49Speaker 7: I mean, we're going to be paying all this money
- 15:52Speaker 7: to these athletes.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:54Speaker 8: I need them to stay off the electric scooters.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe get them a moped or two.
- 15:58Speaker 5: I used to say, because they passed that rule, we
- 16:00Speaker 5: had to wear helmets, like second year of college for
- 16:03Speaker 5: me or whatever. And so I would never wear it
- 16:06Speaker 5: because it wasn't that cool. But I would put it.
- 16:09Speaker 5: on the handlebar just in case I saw.
- 16:12Speaker 4: I saw the 5-0.
- 16:15Speaker 5: I got caught so many times. They would pull up
- 16:17Speaker 5: behind me. I got caught so many times around campus
- 16:22Speaker 5: without my helmet on. I didn't even know. I was
- 16:25Speaker 5: stopped at a red light and behind me the cop
- 16:28Speaker 5: got on the microphone and said, Matt, put your helmet on.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Oops.
- 16:38Speaker 3: We will take a break. Got a lot coming your
- 16:41Speaker 3: way here on Thursday. Some good energy here on Thursday.
- 16:43Speaker 3: It's always good when you can start making fun of
- 16:45Speaker 3: Notre Dame and Clemson to start the show. We'll take
- 16:47Speaker 3: a look at Texas A & M, we'll take a
- 16:50Speaker 3: look at the Raiders, the LSU and Saints opponents coming
- 16:53Speaker 3: up this weekend, and we'll start that when we come.
- 16:55Speaker 4: Back here on OTB.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Or go to pelicanroof.com, pelicanroof.com, the website for our friends
- 17:03Speaker 3: over at Pelican Roofing in Baton Rouge in Lafayette. Go
- 17:07Speaker 3: check out the website, see what they can do for you. Remember,
- 17:09Speaker 3: free consultation. They'll come out and tell you exactly what
- 17:12Speaker 3: you need, or maybe you don't need anything at all.
- 17:14Speaker 3: They'll tell you that as well. Cost you nothing. Now,
- 17:17Speaker 3: when you work with Pelican Roof, you know you're getting
- 17:19Speaker 3: five-star service.
- 17:20Speaker 4: How do we know? Because if you go to the homepage, it.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Has over 600 five-star reviews. And again, those come in organically.
- 17:27Speaker 3: They are not cherry-picked by someone and then put on
- 17:29Speaker 3: the website. They are the best in the state. We
- 17:32Speaker 3: put that on anything. Go to pelicanroof.com.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Pelicanroof, pelicanroof.com, the best roofing company in all of Louisiana.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Five-star reviews all over the Internet. The meanest place on
- 17:41Speaker 5: Earth is the Internet. People like to talk a lot
- 17:44Speaker 5: of trash there and point out your flaws, but... They
- 17:47Speaker 5: don't point out any flaws because they don't have any
- 17:49Speaker 5: over at Pelican Roof.
- 17:50Speaker 4: They're the best roof. Give them a call. They're the best.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Give them a call.
- 17:55Speaker 3: New roof. Roof repair.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Whatever it is. PelicanRoof.com.
- 18:19Speaker 6: Take it easy.
- 18:24Speaker 9: Slow ride.
- 18:25Speaker 7: Take it easy.
- 18:32Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's off the
- 18:34Speaker 1: bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 18:40Speaker 9: Slow ride.
- 18:48Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in OTB.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Thursday morning.
- 18:59Speaker 3: You know, one of the things that as we continue
- 19:02Speaker 3: looking at LSU and Texas A & M that we
- 19:07Speaker 3: haven't really mentioned when it comes to LSU because, you know,
- 19:09Speaker 3: they gave up some yards obviously through the air last
- 19:12Speaker 3: week and there's a lot of people that thought maybe
- 19:15Speaker 3: the defense would play a little bit better. And if
- 19:18Speaker 3: you go watch our film breakdown on Eye in the Sky,
- 19:21Speaker 3: there was plays to be made. Position here, position there.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Half a step here, half a step there based off
- 19:28Speaker 3: what the technique should be. But with all that being said,
- 19:32Speaker 3: even though you did give up yards through the air,
- 19:35Speaker 3: you didn't give up anything on the ground. Lacey, I
- 19:39Speaker 3: know he went out with injury, but you really didn't
- 19:42Speaker 3: give anything to Trinidad Chambliss.
- 19:43Speaker 4: He had that one run at the very end, but
- 19:48Speaker 4: you're still the number one rush defense in the country.
- 19:53Speaker 3: And you're the number one rush defense in the country
- 19:55Speaker 3: by seven full yards. You give up 33 yards per game.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Navy is second with 40.5. Georgia is third with 45.7.
- 20:05Speaker 3: So you're 15... plus yards above where number three is.
- 20:15Speaker 3: They've been dominant, even against a good rushing attack in
- 20:18Speaker 3: Ole Miss. We'll reiterate again, Marcel Reed has to be
- 20:26Speaker 3: a thrower in this game. And I think, right, with
- 20:32Speaker 3: how good you've been, the candidates that you have to
- 20:36Speaker 3: be able to I'm not saying you spy Marcel Reed
- 20:39Speaker 3: every single play, but to come up with a game plan,
- 20:41Speaker 3: and I know you've had some injuries in the back end,
- 20:45Speaker 3: but you still have to make him beat you throwing
- 20:48Speaker 3: the football, showing you that he can read the defense,
- 20:50Speaker 3: go through his progressions, deliver an accurate football. He's got
- 20:55Speaker 3: to be better than he has been in the air,
- 20:59Speaker 3: and then if he is, then you adjust to that.
- 21:01Speaker 3: If he's the same guy, you win this game. If
- 21:05Speaker 3: you don't allow him to do what he's done the
- 21:06Speaker 3: last two years... You win the game. Yeah, you just
- 21:10Speaker 3: got to make him play like everybody else. He plays
- 21:14Speaker 3: against LSU better than anybody for whatever reason. A lot
- 21:19Speaker 3: of that is it's not luck.
- 21:20Speaker 5: It's just coincidental that he's had his best couple of
- 21:23Speaker 5: games versus you. LSU's defense is really good to stop
- 21:28Speaker 5: in the run because you're getting good defensive line play.
- 21:32Speaker 5: You're getting great linebacker play. And Blake Baker's bringing a
- 21:37Speaker 5: lot of different pressures and pressures. Aren't always just a sack,
- 21:41Speaker 5: the quarterback there to create challenges in the running game
- 21:43Speaker 5: as well. And when you bring pressures, you're putting a
- 21:46Speaker 5: lot of people in the box. So like you're, he,
- 21:48Speaker 5: he is taking calculated risks out there.
- 21:51Speaker 4: Right.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Um, it really hasn't, it really hasn't jumped up to
- 21:56Speaker 5: bite us at any point. Uh, Ole Miss made some plays,
- 22:00Speaker 5: but it wasn't because of calculated risk. Guys were in
- 22:02Speaker 5: position to make plays, and one small technique was the
- 22:06Speaker 5: reason for a lot of the big plays that Trinidad made.
- 22:09Speaker 5: But one small technique versus a dynamic elite player can
- 22:14Speaker 5: get you beat, and it did. Now, Marcel Reed is
- 22:18Speaker 5: not Trinidad Chambliss, so even if you do make those
- 22:21Speaker 5: small mistakes, he might get you a couple times, but
- 22:25Speaker 5: he's not going to get you consistently like Trinidad was
- 22:27Speaker 5: getting you. Um, so yeah, the, the run game is,
- 22:32Speaker 5: is pretty simple. Like they're, they're doing a really good
- 22:34Speaker 5: job stopping the run because there's just more people in
- 22:36Speaker 5: the box than the other team and they're playing really well.
- 22:38Speaker 5: And they're tackling, it's not, they're, they're not having to
- 22:40Speaker 5: gang tackle people. You're not seeing like one guy miss
- 22:44Speaker 5: a tackle. And then all of a sudden he springs
- 22:48Speaker 5: for eight, nine, 10 more yards consistently because everybody's straining.
- 22:52Speaker 5: We talked about the word strength. Like everybody is fighting
- 22:55Speaker 5: to get to the ball. And that's an attitude that
- 22:58Speaker 5: is a mindset. That's the DNA of this team is
- 23:03Speaker 5: to fight. And we've seen it from every position. Even
- 23:05Speaker 5: the guys that have a bad play or have a
- 23:08Speaker 5: bad game, they're still fighting. A lot has been said
- 23:11Speaker 5: about Sam Levitt. But my God, that kid's got some heart.
- 23:15Speaker 5: And he's got some competitive nature to him. Now, you
- 23:17Speaker 5: can't– doesn't mean you're– it doesn't win you games, but
- 23:22Speaker 5: it sure– Sure as hell helps because you can clean
- 23:25Speaker 5: up a lot of the other stuff. I'm excited to
- 23:28Speaker 5: see the defense go out there and finally right or
- 23:31Speaker 5: wrong with Marcel Reed. I think they take care of business.
- 23:34Speaker 5: I think this team has the right mindset. I think
- 23:37Speaker 5: they bounce back. Obviously, I think they're going to win.
- 23:42Speaker 5: I'm going to pick them to win, but I think
- 23:43Speaker 5: they win. I think they win big.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Outside of Marcel Reed, Owens, the running back, On the year,
- 23:50Speaker 3: 45 carries, 186 yards, one touchdown. Craver's been their best receiver.
- 23:57Speaker 3: He's got 19 catches for 194 yards and two touchdowns.
- 24:03Speaker 4: Marcel Reed on the season.
- 24:04Speaker 3: He is six touchdowns, three interceptions, 632 through the air
- 24:10Speaker 3: to kind of give you a look at what they
- 24:11Speaker 3: are offensively. Now, defensively, where Texas A & M has
- 24:16Speaker 3: been certainly stout in the past, Against Missouri State, they
- 24:21Speaker 3: didn't give up any points. No disrespect to Missouri State.
- 24:24Speaker 3: That's Missouri State. Against Arizona State, you give up 20,
- 24:28Speaker 3: and then you give up 31 to Kentucky last week.
- 24:31Speaker 3: And so I take a look at the, okay, who's
- 24:33Speaker 3: had success against them, how they do it. It's Kentucky.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Kentucky's quarterback was very efficient. He was 14 of 18,
- 24:42Speaker 3: 252 yards, so 14 per attempt. That's a big, big number.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Two touchdowns, no interceptions. They also stay committed to the run, though.
- 24:51Speaker 3: 36 carries, 156 yards. And they had two scores by
- 24:55Speaker 3: their starting running back, C.J. Baxter, who came over from Texas.
- 24:59Speaker 3: So that just, to me, is like efficiency. You probably
- 25:04Speaker 3: didn't take a whole lot of chances. You hit a
- 25:06Speaker 3: big play in the passing game. And I'm not trying
- 25:09Speaker 3: to be funny here. We know that offense. We've seen
- 25:11Speaker 3: that offense here. Joe Sloan's the offense coordinator there. And look,
- 25:14Speaker 3: you've got Will Stein's stuff, too, obviously. But their game
- 25:18Speaker 3: plan was, hey, We're going to high percentage passes. We're
- 25:22Speaker 3: going to stay committed to the run. Baxter had 19 carries.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Patterson had six carries. Skinner had two carries. I mean,
- 25:28Speaker 3: so they got three running backs involved in the game plan.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Do you expect LSU to kind of have that same
- 25:34Speaker 3: game plan where a quarterback is going to be under
- 25:37Speaker 3: 20 attempts? You're going to try to establish the run,
- 25:39Speaker 3: control the clock, or do you see something different from LSU?
- 25:43Speaker 5: I mean, I think that's what LSU has tried to
- 25:44Speaker 5: do all season is establish the run. Some of that
- 25:47Speaker 5: has been Sam Levitt taking off, but I think that
- 25:52Speaker 5: kind of got away from that this past week in
- 25:55Speaker 5: the first half, I was kind of yelling to the TV,
- 25:57Speaker 5: like run the ball, run the ball. But like, like
- 25:59Speaker 5: we looked at our film review and like, there was
- 26:01Speaker 5: a lot of times where the run was there. It
- 26:03Speaker 5: just made a bad count, made a bad read, try
- 26:05Speaker 5: to make, try to make too much happen. Maybe trying
- 26:08Speaker 5: to press a little bit at quarterback and try to
- 26:11Speaker 5: make a play with his arm early. Um, But sometimes
- 26:15Speaker 5: it's not time to press. It's not time to push it.
- 26:17Speaker 5: It's not time to take a risk.
- 26:18Speaker 4: It's time to read your keys. Read the keys, especially
- 26:20Speaker 4: early in the game. And I think that's probably a
- 26:22Speaker 4: big coaching.
- 26:22Speaker 3: First down runs. I don't know if you were wanting
- 26:26Speaker 3: on certain downs on the broadcast.
- 26:28Speaker 4: First down.
- 26:28Speaker 3: On the broadcast, I was like, run the ball on
- 26:31Speaker 3: first down. Like I said, just like that. Because when
- 26:34Speaker 3: they did, it was a completely different drive. Now, I
- 26:38Speaker 3: think it probably happened a little too late because you
- 26:40Speaker 3: got down. Now, I do give them credit. I give
- 26:42Speaker 3: LSU credit last week for not panicking because they had
- 26:45Speaker 3: the clock, and a lot of teams panic in that situation.
- 26:48Speaker 3: It was so good to see in the third quarter,
- 26:50Speaker 3: even down 10, they were still running the football in
- 26:52Speaker 3: first down because they knew they had time, and then, look,
- 26:54Speaker 3: you tied it up. They stayed committed, and it was–
- 26:58Speaker 3: I wish they would have got to it a little
- 26:59Speaker 3: bit sooner, but they got to it.
- 27:01Speaker 4: First down runs to make it second and six, huge.
- 27:06Speaker 3: They're huge. And certainly, I think with the way Sam–
- 27:09Speaker 3: was trying to find himself into the game, and he
- 27:12Speaker 3: did at some point. It wasn't perfect, but he got
- 27:14Speaker 3: better as the game went along. Second and six to
- 27:16Speaker 3: a quarterback, you could speak way better to that portion.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Of it than I could. It's just staying on schedule.
- 27:23Speaker 4: Keeping your offense on schedule.
- 27:25Speaker 5: Second and ten is not on schedule, especially second and
- 27:27Speaker 5: ten after a run-around scramble for no yards and take
- 27:31Speaker 5: two hits along the way. That's not what you want
- 27:33Speaker 5: to do. Less than ideal. That's not the key to
- 27:37Speaker 5: season-long success.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Right. So I think that was probably a really big point.
- 27:42Speaker 5: It should have been a big point of emphasis this
- 27:45Speaker 5: week was run the ball, establish, assert our dominance on
- 27:49Speaker 5: the line. Let's give this offensive line that, you know,
- 27:52Speaker 5: there may be, like from what Lane said earlier in
- 27:55Speaker 5: the week, there might be some new pieces. There might
- 27:58Speaker 5: be a little bit more of a rotation on the
- 27:59Speaker 5: interior part of the offensive line.
- 28:01Speaker 4: Maybe right now.
- 28:02Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 28:02Speaker 5: Like that's just kind of, you know, reading between the
- 28:05Speaker 5: lines on what Lane said earlier this week. And what's
- 28:09Speaker 5: the best way to get some new guys feet under him?
- 28:11Speaker 5: It's not pass protection. It's going to be run blocking.
- 28:13Speaker 5: Like go, go downhill, put your face in their face,
- 28:16Speaker 5: drive them off the ball. And let's establish the run
- 28:19Speaker 5: game earlier, early. So, um, I expect to see it early.
- 28:23Speaker 5: I expect to see it often. And then on top
- 28:26Speaker 5: of that, you're going to have the, the threat of
- 28:28Speaker 5: Sam's legs, play action, pass, practice the RPOs, throw it
- 28:33Speaker 5: when the numbers and the count is not advantageous in
- 28:36Speaker 5: the box. And, um, I think LSU comes out firing
- 28:42Speaker 5: on cylinders, and I think Sam does start to make
- 28:44Speaker 5: the improvements. Now, is it realistic that he's going to
- 28:46Speaker 5: make every improvement we saw and every improvement we talked
- 28:49Speaker 5: about and going through all his progressions perfectly and everything? No,
- 28:53Speaker 5: your quarterback's going to make some mistakes. It always happens.
- 28:56Speaker 5: But I think you're going to see steady improvement from Sam.
- 28:58Speaker 5: At least that's my hope, and I'm going to choose
- 29:01Speaker 5: to believe.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Nine times in the second half, LSU ran the football
- 29:06Speaker 3: in first down. There we go.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Nine times in the second half. I love throwing it
- 29:10Speaker 4: on first down. Don't get me wrong. Not me. But
- 29:13Speaker 4: not everyone.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Nine times. Like, being down 17 points and staying committed
- 29:19Speaker 3: to it nine times, that part of it they got
- 29:23Speaker 3: figured out. We'll see if they can continue more of
- 29:26Speaker 3: the same. We'll see if Dylan Jones can get started
- 29:29Speaker 3: like he did there in Oxford this weekend.
- 29:31Speaker 4: All right.
- 29:32Speaker 3: We will step away. We've got much more OTB coming

- 30:58Speaker 1: for all things Louisiana sports.
- 31:11Speaker 6: All right.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Welcome back in OTB reminder tomorrow.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Yes.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Tomorrow football Friday at Rouse's. We're going to be there
- 31:33Speaker 3: and do the show seven to 10 AM, but come
- 31:35Speaker 3: hang out with us. Catch up during the breaks. Come
- 31:38Speaker 3: listen to the show. eat some good breakfast from the
- 31:41Speaker 3: breakfast bar. And again, every single Friday during the football season,
- 31:45Speaker 3: we do our show live from there, 7 to 10 a.m.
- 31:48Speaker 3: So come hang out with us and go to Rouses.com
- 31:50Speaker 3: to find that location that's convenient for you as well
- 31:53Speaker 3: during the week so you can pop in, get your groceries,
- 31:55Speaker 3: get your tailgating packages for this weekend.
- 31:58Speaker 4: They've already got them made.
- 31:59Speaker 3: You walk in, you grab it, you check out, you go,
- 32:02Speaker 3: and they've got it all put together for you. Go
- 32:04Speaker 3: to Rouses.com, football Friday, tomorrow, 7 to 10 a.m. We've
- 32:10Speaker 3: talked a lot about the games coming up. It's a great,
- 32:13Speaker 3: great slate of games this weekend. And last weekend was
- 32:17Speaker 3: so poor that college football needed this one. It was
- 32:19Speaker 3: one big game and everybody else. And now you've got
- 32:22Speaker 3: a full slate of games, at least in the SEC.
- 32:25Speaker 3: We expect to be very competitive. But there's some teams
- 32:30Speaker 3: that are still playing bad teams. So it's hard to,
- 32:34Speaker 3: right now with the AP poll, it's hard to even
- 32:36Speaker 3: look at it and try to justify, you know, Indiana.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Defending national champ.
- 32:42Speaker 3: I get it. They've played North Texas, Howard, and Western Kentucky.
- 32:49Speaker 3: They got Northwestern this weekend, though.
- 32:52Speaker 8: Wait, did they get beat by the?
- 32:56Speaker 4: The Colorado beat the hell out of Northwestern.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Nope.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Sorry, Northwestern beat the hell out of Colorado.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Oh. 41-7?
- 33:01Speaker 9: 41-7.
- 33:01Speaker 6: Oh, I should have known that.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Don't you dare try to guess. I should have known
- 33:05Speaker 4: that Tay-Tay.
- 33:06Speaker 6: And, you know, the video went viral of them crapping
- 33:10Speaker 6: on the stadium. Then they got their ass kicked up there.
- 33:12Speaker 6: Not that I was keeping track or anything.
- 33:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:15Speaker 6: But that did happen.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Indiana, 21-point favorite in this one. You got to hit it.
- 33:23Speaker 4: You got to hit it. I was watching. Not too shabby.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I was.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Three touchdowns.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Taylor would say a high school team could beat Colorado.
- 33:33Speaker 4: He would.
- 33:35Speaker 3: You've got Texas and Tennessee, number one Texas, traveling to
- 33:38Speaker 3: number 14, Tennessee.
- 33:39Speaker 8: I wouldn't go that far.
- 33:40Speaker 4: No, I wouldn't say that at all.
- 33:41Speaker 6: Hey, Georgia Tech can't.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Right now, Texas is a four-point favorite on the road
- 33:46Speaker 3: in Neyland. That's going to be a hell of a
- 33:48Speaker 3: football game. You've got Illinois traveling to number seven, Ohio State.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Ohio State, 26-and-a-half-point favorite. You've got Sam Houston and Texas Tech.
- 34:00Speaker 3: I don't even think.
- 34:02Speaker 4: It's Sam Houston.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Okay.
- 34:03Speaker 4: 34.5-point favorite for the Red Raiders. Get your guns up.
- 34:07Speaker 4: Wake Forest and Louisville. Louisville, 13.5-point favorite.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Notre Dame, nobody, and I mean nobody, goes to Ross-Ade
- 34:15Speaker 3: Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana, plays Purdue, and walks out
- 34:20Speaker 3: on the other side.
- 34:21Speaker 4: No way.
- 34:22Speaker 8: Not according to their athletic director.
- 34:24Speaker 6: Tommy McClellan says that's the place you go to win titles.
- 34:26Speaker 4: So... Not Indiana.
- 34:28Speaker 8: So many titles there.
- 34:29Speaker 6: Not Indiana.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Not the one that just won it.
- 34:31Speaker 6: Purdue, obviously.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Notre Dame's 27.5 point favorite.
- 34:38Speaker 4: Oh, man.
- 34:40Speaker 3: You talked about this game because it didn't fall into
- 34:44Speaker 3: the category of ranked on ranked, but the team was
- 34:48Speaker 3: in the top ten two weeks ago.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Oklahoma traveling to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs. Yeah,
- 34:53Speaker 4: get right game for Oklahoma. Georgia, you want to guess
- 34:56Speaker 4: the line on that one?
- 34:57Speaker 6: 15.
- 34:59Speaker 4: 20.
- 35:00Speaker 6: I haven't pulled up. I was looking at the slate.
- 35:03Speaker 1: 14.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Oh, I'm such a ball knower.
- 35:07Speaker 4: Knower of ball.
- 35:08Speaker 3: I would.
- 35:10Speaker 6: Can Oklahoma score that much?
- 35:11Speaker 4: Oklahoma might win this one.
- 35:13Speaker 1: No.
- 35:15Speaker 3: You did have him in the natty, basically.
- 35:17Speaker 5: Basically, Mateer was going to blow it out the votes.
- 35:20Speaker 4: He was going to get every vote for the Heisman.
- 35:22Speaker 6: They only have one loss, Matt. So, like, everything is
- 35:26Speaker 6: still in front of them.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Everything is in front of them. They control their own destiny.
- 35:31Speaker 4: It's time.
- 35:32Speaker 5: It's time to activate. It's time to activate those three
- 35:36Speaker 5: tight ends. I got sold on the three tight ends.
- 35:43Speaker 5: I did too. They beat New Mexico 14-6.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Are you serious?
- 35:49Speaker 6: Yeah, 14-6 was their final score last week. That was
- 35:51Speaker 6: their get-right game.
- 35:52Speaker 4: It was 7-6.
- 35:52Speaker 3: 7-6?
- 35:56Speaker 4: The Lobos are salty this year. I mean, we've said it.
- 36:00Speaker 4: We have said it. Oh, God. 14-6.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Number 15, Utah traveling to Ames, Iowa to take on
- 36:10Speaker 3: Iowa State. Eight and a half point favorite. Iowa and
- 36:13Speaker 3: Michigan in Ann Arbor. 17 versus 18. Michigan at five
- 36:18Speaker 3: and a half point favorite. You might hear about that
- 36:20Speaker 3: one tomorrow.
- 36:22Speaker 6: I like Iowa this year. Iowa's finally got a quarterback
- 36:24Speaker 6: to sling the ball, man. Kalinske's playing well.
- 36:27Speaker 3: And Michigan stinks.
- 36:29Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, Ferentz always has a great defense.
- 36:32Speaker 4: Yep. You saying they're getting a little too much credit
- 36:34Speaker 4: for that Oklahoma win?
- 36:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Yeah. And Michigan pulled away. So don't. UTEP and Michigan
- 36:45Speaker 4: at halftime were in a dogfight. It ended up 52-17.
- 36:49Speaker 3: They crushed them in the second half.
- 36:51Speaker 4: But going into the locker room, it was 17-14. Michigan.
- 36:56Speaker 4: What is UTEP? What is their?
- 36:58Speaker 3: The minors.
- 36:59Speaker 4: Oh, the minors. They're salty, too. They do be mining.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Real tough.
- 37:12Speaker 3: Ole Miss and Florida. Number four versus number 21. Florida
- 37:17Speaker 3: a three and a half point favorite still in this game.
- 37:20Speaker 4: A half point is.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Do we think that's going to move? Do we think
- 37:25Speaker 4: it's going to be like two and a half a kick?
- 37:27Speaker 5: Three?
- 37:27Speaker 3: Maybe. ESPN matchup predicted against Florida a 53.2% chance to
- 37:32Speaker 3: win this one. Now, it's minus three and a half
- 37:34Speaker 3: at plus 100.
- 37:36Speaker 4: It is so funny.
- 37:37Speaker 3: It opened up at minus one and a half for Florida.
- 37:40Speaker 4: Like, weeks ago.
- 37:41Speaker 5: It's so wild to me that it's... You would think
- 37:45Speaker 5: that LSU ended up winning the game this past week
- 37:47Speaker 5: with the two lines. With Ole Miss being a three
- 37:51Speaker 5: and a half point dog and LSU being an eight
- 37:53Speaker 5: and a half point favorite. You would have thought that
- 37:55Speaker 5: the result of the game was opposite of what it
- 37:58Speaker 5: really was.
- 37:59Speaker 4: And both lines just seemed really.
- 38:01Speaker 6: I think people just respect the hell out of Jaden Ball,
- 38:03Speaker 6: as you should. I think Jaden Ball is awesome.
- 38:06Speaker 3: He's the best runner back in the country.
- 38:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:08Speaker 6: And he was good a year ago. It's just the
- 38:10Speaker 6: team around him wasn't that great.
- 38:11Speaker 4: He's been good his whole time.
- 38:12Speaker 3: He was a freshman. He didn't know any better. He
- 38:14Speaker 3: was just running over people. So it's hard for him
- 38:16Speaker 3: to stay healthy. But he's got 458 yards already on
- 38:21Speaker 3: the ground, 54 carries, eight tuds already.
- 38:24Speaker 4: This year. If you're Florida in this game, you're at home.
- 38:31Speaker 3: You have the best running back in the country, you
- 38:35Speaker 3: try to churn as much as you can off the clock.
- 38:38Speaker 3: You try to big boy Ole Miss a little bit, huh?
- 38:40Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. You try to run them into the dirt.
- 38:44Speaker 5: Again, LSU had runs to be had this past week.
- 38:49Speaker 5: And we had some success. Outside zone was awesome. I
- 38:53Speaker 5: would expect to see a lot of outside zone from Florida.
- 38:57Speaker 5: So I expect for Florida to run early and run
- 39:01Speaker 5: often and definitely try to run them into the dirt.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Is this one of those games where you hope the
- 39:07Speaker 3: lights go out in the stadium and nobody wins?
- 39:12Speaker 4: No, I always hope that Florida loses.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Always.
- 39:15Speaker 4: Even this one? Yeah. Why not? How do we feel
- 39:18Speaker 4: around the room about this one? Why not?
- 39:20Speaker 6: Of course.
- 39:20Speaker 8: I want Florida to win this one.
- 39:22Speaker 4: I want Ole Miss to win every game.
- 39:23Speaker 6: No.
- 39:24Speaker 4: They beat LSU. You want the loss to look better.
- 39:27Speaker 4: I get that.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't want Florida to win.
- 39:28Speaker 8: I get that, too, but I don't want Ole Miss.
- 39:30Speaker 8: to be able to.
- 39:31Speaker 7: Like, they're going to be able to talk mess since
- 39:32Speaker 7: they beat LSU, but I don't want them to have
- 39:35Speaker 7: any better of a season.
- 39:37Speaker 8: I really don't.
- 39:38Speaker 4: I feel you on that.
- 39:38Speaker 6: I hope Florida wins this game by 30 points. I mean,
- 39:41Speaker 6: I don't care that LSU lost to Ole Miss. If
- 39:43Speaker 6: LSU wins the rest of their games, that loss doesn't matter.
- 39:46Speaker 6: They're in the playoff anyways. As Matt would say, they
- 39:48Speaker 6: control their own destiny. Long season.
- 39:50Speaker 4: A lot of football left to be played. So wait,
- 39:52Speaker 4: you hope Ole Miss loses?
- 39:53Speaker 3: I hope Ole Miss gets.
- 39:54Speaker 6: Blown out of this. I hope Ole Miss quits at halftime.
- 40:01Speaker 3: I understand everybody's arguments there. But I understand Matt's, like,
- 40:07Speaker 3: you know, you want your loss. But I also understand
- 40:09Speaker 3: that you could lose another game and still make the playoffs.
- 40:12Speaker 7: The film breakdown made me feel better about the loss.
- 40:14Speaker 7: Go watch Eye in the Sky.
- 40:15Speaker 4: There you go.
- 40:16Speaker 8: Subscribe, like, smash.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Smash.
- 40:19Speaker 7: Comment.
- 40:20Speaker 6: Share.
- 40:21Speaker 4: I want the loss to look as good as it can.
- 40:25Speaker 4: I know what you're saying.
- 40:25Speaker 8: I think the loss is fine.
- 40:27Speaker 5: I hate Florida more than anything. Hating Florida is the
- 40:30Speaker 5: main thing.
- 40:30Speaker 6: I had the TV on last night. I told Victoria,
- 40:32Speaker 6: I was like, I've hated Florida my whole life. That
- 40:34Speaker 6: was the big rival when I was a fan. I
- 40:36Speaker 6: was like, I hope they smash Ole Miss. Bad taste,
- 40:40Speaker 6: I guess.
- 40:40Speaker 4: I just hope the power goes out.
- 40:49Speaker 5: I mean, I think Ole Miss is a bunch of nerds,
- 40:51Speaker 5: but I don't hate them like y'all do, I guess.
- 40:54Speaker 4: I hate Florida.
- 40:54Speaker 8: I just don't want them to do good this season.
- 41:00Speaker 4: They're going and they got a good quarterback. Pretty good one.
- 41:04Speaker 3: I think Florida wins this. If Florida does win this one, man,
- 41:10Speaker 3: you talk about John Sumrall and Statue.
- 41:15Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 41:16Speaker 6: Statue.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Now, do they still have Left on their schedule, multiple
- 41:21Speaker 3: ranked games, including against number one and number two in
- 41:24Speaker 3: back-to-back weeks. They do.
- 41:27Speaker 4: But they control their own destiny. But they do.
- 41:29Speaker 3: All right, we will take a break. We've got more

- 42:46Speaker 3: This is Off the Bench.
- 42:48Speaker 8: All right, welcome back in OTB. Matthew, I ran into
- 42:54Speaker 8: Hunter Palmer.
- 42:55Speaker 5: It's actually just Hunt.
- 43:14Speaker 4: Which I kind of appreciate, in the hallway.
- 43:16Speaker 3: And he said to tell you that we do not
- 43:20Speaker 3: play Florida anymore every single year, but we do play
- 43:23Speaker 3: Ole Miss every single year.
- 43:24Speaker 4: Well, I'm glad because he'd probably pick Florida to win.
- 43:27Speaker 3: So your hate for Florida needs to be turned to
- 43:30Speaker 3: Ole Miss.
- 43:31Speaker 4: Why? Because you play Ole Miss every.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Year, and you don't need them thinking that they're a
- 43:35Speaker 3: better program than they are.
- 43:37Speaker 4: I told him I'd relay the message.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Okay.
- 43:41Speaker 5: Well, Ole Miss will be irrelevant in a couple years.
- 43:44Speaker 5: That's why I don't really care about them. We should
- 43:49Speaker 5: play Florida for you.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Don't shoot the messenger. First time since 1973, I think.
- 43:53Speaker 3: Something like that.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Why don't you just worry about your LSU picks, bud?
- 44:01Speaker 4: You did get it right. It doesn't matter. I'm with you.
- 44:05Speaker 5: There's no coming back from that. Like, that is the
- 44:07Speaker 5: one game. There's no coming back from picking Ole Miss.
- 44:10Speaker 5: Muscona picked Clemson last year.
- 44:13Speaker 4: Well, he hadn't come back.
- 44:20Speaker 3: LSU was playing the 1972 Dolphins. LSU.
- 44:24Speaker 4: LSU. Duh. What about the 85 Bears?
- 44:28Speaker 6: LSU. I ain't worried about Jim McMahon. Squirrel in the defense,
- 44:32Speaker 6: I ain't worried.
- 44:33Speaker 4: Yeah, Mike Singletary. All those performance enhancers. Walter Payton. LSU, though.
- 44:43Speaker 4: That was a tough look. What was a tough look?
- 44:49Speaker 4: What was tough? The pick. Oh, yeah. No, but forever.
- 44:53Speaker 4: I hate you, Florida. I hate you so much. Is
- 44:59Speaker 4: there anything they can do about it? Nothing they can
- 45:02Speaker 4: do about it. But that's what makes college football beautiful.
- 45:06Speaker 4: Good old-fashioned hate. And again, I.
- 45:09Speaker 5: Often, even when we played them, I often cheered for
- 45:11Speaker 5: them to win other games because I wanted them to
- 45:14Speaker 5: be good.
- 45:14Speaker 4: You wanted them to be excited and heartbroken. I wanted
- 45:16Speaker 4: them to, like, really cry. Yeah.
- 45:19Speaker 3: The other ranked-on-ranked game in the SEC, it is 19-ranked
- 45:23Speaker 3: Missouri going to start Vegas, take on number 24, Mississippi State.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Mississippi State, six-and-a-half-point favorite.
- 45:31Speaker 4: In this one.
- 45:36Speaker 3: I have a feeling about that.
- 45:38Speaker 4: Are we state fans?
- 45:39Speaker 3: I'm a Camario Taylor fan.
- 45:42Speaker 4: I told you last week, were.
- 45:45Speaker 6: We hyping him up a little too much, too quick? No.
- 45:47Speaker 6: He's the real deal.
- 45:49Speaker 4: What did you say, Alondra?
- 45:50Speaker 8: I might hit Mizzou.
- 45:53Speaker 4: Six and a half is a lot.
- 45:54Speaker 8: Yeah, I might hit them to cover that.
- 45:56Speaker 4: I was like, Camario's going to look real good in
- 45:58Speaker 4: purple and gold next year. Don't do that.
- 46:01Speaker 1: What?
- 46:02Speaker 4: Don't do that.
- 46:03Speaker 3: That man is at Mississippi State this year from Mississippi
- 46:08Speaker 3: this year don't.
- 46:09Speaker 4: Do that young man money money money all.
