2 Samuel 7; 1 Chronicles 17
David has survived the wilderness.
Saul is gone.
Israel is united.
Jerusalem has been captured.
The Philistines have been defeated.
The Ark of God has been brought into the city.
For perhaps the first time in years, David can sit quietly inside his palace.
And in that quiet moment, he notices something that troubles him.
He lives in a house of cedar.
The Ark of God remains inside tent curtains.
So David develops what appears to be an excellent idea:
