- 0:01The gross physical forms result from the subtler levels that are
- 0:06either the immediate effective means or the causal level that
- 0:11has formulated the result. If we look at the construction
- 0:15of a bridge or a building, we see that first there is an idea
- 0:20that develops. The idea turns into a formulated
- 0:24mental process of design. Then there is an organizational
- 0:28phase whereby the various designed elements are acquired.
- 0:32What happens next is a step by step process to bring the design
- 0:37into being. Eventually the building or
- 0:41bridge results. It is the same way with all
- 0:45things that humans create in the world.
- 0:49Some things do not have specific physical forms such as described
- 0:53here, but have either mental or vital forms that never reach the
- 0:58stage of physical manifestation, yet impact things on these other
- 1:03planes or levels. We find that frequently people
- 1:08create in their minds various images about what may happen in
- 1:12the future, what will happen to them after death, what results
- 1:16may occur as they proceed through their lives.
- 1:20Depending on how they formulate these images of the future and
- 1:24how strongly they organize them, they set a direction, a
- 1:28trajectory, and an impulsion in that direction, which then tend
- 1:34to attract the circumstances and forces to carry out that
- 1:38intention in their minds. One of the things that people
- 1:43tend to dwell on is how they will experience life after
- 1:46death. Regardless of the actual reality
- 1:50of life and death, they imagine that they will attain to heaven,
- 1:55that they will rejoin their loved ones in heaven, or else if
- 2:00they have done things that caused them to carry guilt and
- 2:02fear around with them, they will tend to see their future
- 2:06existence in a sort of hell. Some people actually create
- 2:10these ideas with so much intensity that they live in a
- 2:15heaven or a hell of their own making right here in their
- 2:20earthly life. The Tibetan Book of the Dead
- 2:24describes the process of the dissolution of the tie of the
- 2:28consciousness to the physical body and the actual trajectory
- 2:33it follows as it traverses the intervening zone, which is
- 2:37called the bardo. Subject to the directions set
- 2:40during the life and at the time of departure from life, past
- 2:47causal energies propel them forward along the lines they
- 2:50previously created and based on their spiritual development,
- 2:55their clarity of mind, their vital purity, they will wind up
- 3:00taking birth in either another body that is either destined to
- 3:04various forms of enjoyment or suffering.
- 3:08As they work through all the past influences and achieve
- 3:12enlightenment, the Mother observes.
- 3:15Quote. In these invisible worlds there
- 3:18are also regions which are the result of human mental
- 3:21formations. One can find their all one
- 3:24wants. In fact, one very often finds
- 3:28their exactly what one expects to find.
- 3:32There are Hells, there are paradises, there are
- 3:35purgatories, there are all sorts of things.
- 3:39In accordance with the different religions and their conceptions.
- 3:43These things have only a very relative existence, but with a
- 3:47relativity similar to that of material things here.
- 3:52That is to say, for someone who finds himself there, they are
- 3:56entirely real and their effects quite tangible. 1 needs an inner
- 4:02liberation, a wideness of the consciousness and a contact with
- 4:07a deeper and higher truth to be able to escape from the illusion
- 4:12of their reality. But this is something almost
- 4:15similar to what happens here. Human beings here are mostly
- 4:21convinced that the only reality is the physical reality, the
- 4:25reality of what one can touch, can see.
- 4:29And for them all that cannot be seen, cannot be touched, cannot
- 4:35be felt, is, after all problematical.
- 4:39Well, what happens there is an identical phenomenon.
- 4:43People who at the moment of death are convinced for one
- 4:47reason or another that they are going to paradise or maybe to
- 4:51hell do find themselves there after their death.
- 4:57And for them it is truly a paradise or a hell.
- 5:02And it is extremely difficult to make them come out of it and go
- 5:06to a place which is more true, more real.
