- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast.
- 0:02Speaker 2: All right, singer Lizzo, you know her for her hits
- 0:05Speaker 2: like Truth Hurts.
- 0:10Speaker 1: About Damn Time.
- 0:11Speaker 3: It's my favourite one.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Oh, came in at the wrong part there.
- 0:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Well, she was the most recent guest on the Armchair
- 0:20Speaker 2: Experts podcast. And in this episode, Lizzo said she actually
- 0:24Speaker 2: just lives life completely.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Oblivious to everything.
- 0:29Speaker 2: And she tells this story about the moment that she's
- 0:31Speaker 2: realized that she's blissfully unaware.
- 0:33Speaker 1: It was back in high school. Take a listen.
- 0:35Speaker 4: I didn't find my clothes after gym one day. And
- 0:38Speaker 4: I was like, hmm, my clothes just disappeared. No, girl,
- 0:41Speaker 4: they took your clothes and threw it on top of
- 0:43Speaker 4: the locker so you wouldn't find it. So you'd be
- 0:45Speaker 4: walking around in your gym clothes all day.
- 0:46Speaker 1: So you were saved by your obliviousness. That's the word.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Because I'm oblivious to this day.
- 0:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Yeah, like I can't pick up on certain signals.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I'd be like, wow, how did that get past me?
- 0:58Speaker 3: I mean, but they were bullying her.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it kind of sounds like they were bullying her.
- 1:01Speaker 1: But you know what?
- 1:03Speaker 2: That's the best way to be if they are bullying
- 1:05Speaker 2: her and you're oblivious to it.
- 1:06Speaker 1: You are the winner in that situation. I'm a bit
- 1:09Speaker 1: like that.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Like I will go to like events or parties or
- 1:14Speaker 2: something and then I'll be with my girlfriends and they'll
- 1:15Speaker 2: be like, oh.
- 1:16Speaker 1: My God, did you see those shoes? Like those shoes
- 1:18Speaker 1: that she's wearing were blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, no.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Like I don't pay attention to anyone's anything.
- 1:24Speaker 2: If someone looks great, I'll be like, wow, she looks hot. Or,
- 1:29Speaker 2: you know, I choose to not actively watch the news.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I like to be blissfully unaware of what's going on
- 1:35Speaker 2: in the world.
- 1:35Speaker 3: You're still doing that?
- 1:36Speaker 1: Absolutely. The only news I listen to is Sean's.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:40Speaker 1: 5 a.m.
- 1:40Speaker 3: On my drive in.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that's it.
- 1:42Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:43Speaker 5: It is a good.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I'm oblivious to what's going on on socials.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:47Speaker 6: Because I don't log in. You know, though, I was
- 1:50Speaker 6: thinking about that the other day. They're talking about the
- 1:52Speaker 6: algorithm and people are getting really annoyed. I'm like, no
- 1:54Speaker 6: one's making you look at socials.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Like literally.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Well, most people are addicted. Yeah, I know.
- 1:59Speaker 3: And that's the problem.
- 2:00Speaker 6: Yeah. But like no one is making you go onto
- 2:03Speaker 6: Instagram every 20 minutes.
- 2:05Speaker 1: This is true.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Which is why I log out.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:08Speaker 1: And you're blissfully unaware.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I don't know what's going on.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Everyone's shit talking you on there. It's probably a good thing. No,
- 2:15Speaker 1: you're all good. But American singer-songwriter Neo.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:20Speaker 3: What's going on with him?
- 2:21Speaker 1: He's also famous for being in that polyamorous relationship.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I think he's got like 13 girlfriends or something.
- 2:27Speaker 1: It says three here.
- 2:28Speaker 3: It's three, yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 1: He actually has three girlfriends and they all know about
- 2:32Speaker 1: each other.
- 2:32Speaker 3: That's mental.
- 2:33Speaker 1: It's wild. And such effort.
- 2:35Speaker 6: Anyway.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Well, if they all know about each other, it might
- 2:40Speaker 1: keep things really interesting.
- 2:40Speaker 3: It's weird that all three of them are just like, yeah,
- 2:42Speaker 3: it's cool.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Well, there used to be four. I know that. And
- 2:45Speaker 1: apparently one tapped out.
- 2:47Speaker 3: He has money.
- 2:47Speaker 6: If he didn't have money, like John from the pub's
- 2:50Speaker 6: not getting three girlfriends.
- 2:52Speaker 1: You're not getting three girlfriends either, Mikey.
- 2:54Speaker 2: But despite his relationship status, Neo is actually quite talented. Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Now, AI music has been a massive topic, you know,
- 3:03Speaker 1: of late. And I can imagine as an artist it.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Would be– infuriating, especially when you see them turning up
- 3:11Speaker 2: on the charts and stuff. I know the Australian ARIA charts,
- 3:14Speaker 2: they've actually banned AI music.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, it was big news, yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It was.
- 3:18Speaker 2: But Neo has spoken out and said because of AI,
- 3:22Speaker 2: people now without even having any talent are making music.
- 3:27Speaker 1: So have a listen to what he said.
- 3:29Speaker 5: There was a time where if you could not really
- 3:34Speaker 5: play guitar or Get out of here. Like, why are
- 3:37Speaker 5: you in this session? If you couldn't really sing on key, leave.
- 3:42Speaker 5: You're not supposed to be here. Like, it was a
- 3:44Speaker 5: small elite club and you had to be good at
- 3:48Speaker 5: what you were doing.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I mean, it is true.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I agree with that.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 3: But an AI, it's scary, man. What it can do.
- 3:54Speaker 3: We were talking about your book before.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Amy Gerard Memoir or whatever it's called.
- 3:58Speaker 1: It's called Strap Yourself In. Yep.
- 4:01Speaker 3: You could have really just written that with Chad GPT.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Well, I'm sure that there are people that do that now.
- 4:06Speaker 2: But that was a huge accomplishment for me. And I
- 4:11Speaker 2: felt of all the things I've done, I mean, this
- 4:13Speaker 2: job I'm really proud of too, but I felt really
- 4:16Speaker 2: proud of that book and that I wrote every single
- 4:19Speaker 2: word of it. I would have felt like a fraud
- 4:22Speaker 2: had I got it.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Chat GPT or AI to write it.
- 4:25Speaker 3: It's so true, right?
- 4:26Speaker 6: Like, you know, getting a song written by AI, you
- 4:30Speaker 6: might get money and you might feel like the big man,
- 4:32Speaker 6: but you didn't actually write it.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you can just like put a prompt in now
- 4:35Speaker 2: and it'll just punch out a song.
- 4:37Speaker 1: But I mean, if I was to release a song
- 4:38Speaker 1: that was completely AI, I would just feel like a
- 4:41Speaker 1: shell of myself. Like a fraud?
- 4:42Speaker 3: Yeah, 100%.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 4:44Speaker 6: Hey, we're going to take your last calls coming up.
- 4:46Speaker 6: Anything you want to chat about, maybe that. 131065, we'll
- 4:48Speaker 6: talk to you up next.
