- 0:06We're the daily podcast that gets you started on the right foot and always with a positive
- 0:12vibe.
- 0:13I'm your host, Melissa, and it's Wednesday, February 14th.
- 0:18Today is Valentine's Day.
- 0:21Celebrated in memory of St. Valentine, a Roman priest and physician martyred around

- 0:30This day of love stems from a legend where Valentine, before his execution, penned a
- 0:36letter to his jailor's daughter, who he loved, signing it from your Valentine.
- 0:43So today, if you're being executed and happen to be dating the warden's daughter, you should
- 0:48write her a letter and sign it from your Valentine.
- 0:52If she has a good sense of humor, she'll think it's hilarious.

- 4:05But their goalie, Matthew Caron, faced challenges, allowing four goals.
- 4:13In the consolation match, Boston College achieved a decisive 5-0 win over Harvard.
- 4:20Go Huskies!
- 4:27Now on to sports.
- 4:29Danny Machado is intensifying his training following off-season surgery for tennis elbow.
- 4:36Currently in spring training, Machado's primary concern is building arm strength for
- 4:41the upcoming season.
- 4:43Despite a challenging year marked by his first injury list appearance in nine years, at a
- 4:48lower OPS, Machado remains focused and optimistic.
- 4:53The pondrays after missing last season's postseason have undergone significant changes,
- 4:59including trading Juan Soto to the Yankees and losing key players like Josh Hader and
- 5:04Blake Snell.
- 5:06Machado, alongside Fernando Tatis Jr. and others, is confident in the team's potential, emphasizing
- 5:13the need for collective performance improvement.
- 5:17The pondrays are still seeking to strengthen their roster, with general manager AJ Preller
- 5:22exploring trade options, especially in the outfield.
- 5:28Now on to the NBA.
- 5:31Last night, the Celtics on the road beat the Nets 118-110.
- 5:37In a stellar performance, Jason Tatum led the Boston Celtics, marking their fifth consecutive
- 5:43win.
- 5:44Tatum, tying his career-high first half score with 31 points, finished with 41 points and
- 5:5114 rebounds.
- 5:54Despite his personal scoring feed, Tatum emphasized the importance of team effort in pursuing
- 5:59an NBA championship.
- 6:02The Celtics, playing without Kristaps Porzingis due to injury, saw contributions from Al Horford
- 6:08with 16 points and Derek White, also scoring 16.
- 6:14Drew Holliday added 14 points and 12 assists.
- 6:18The Celtics now stand at 42-12, continuing their dominance over the Nets, with their
- 6:23sixth consecutive victory in Brooklyn.
- 6:26And will wonders never cease?
- 6:29The Cees are back at it tonight, taking on the Nets, again, on the road in Brooklyn.
- 6:35In national hockey last night, the Bruins at home lost another one, 3-2 against the
- 6:41Lightning in overtime.
- 6:43The Bees are having trouble keeping a rhythm lately.
- 6:49And top news, the USDA has announced a nationwide recall of certain charcuterie meats by Fratelli
- 6:56Beretta USA due to potential under-processing in foodborne pathogens.
- 7:02Affected packages are sold under brands like Appleton Farms, Dietz & Watson, and Hublix.
- 7:10They have been distributed to stores including Aldi, Costco, and Sam's Club.
- 7:16This follows a previous recall for Salmonella contamination.
- 7:20Consumers and businesses are advised to dispose of or return the products.
- 7:26Symptoms of Salmonella poisoning may include, but are not limited to, prolonged dehydration,
- 7:32sleeping in an empty bathtub, and death.
- 7:37In business news, Nvidia corporations surpassed Amazon in market value for the first time
- 7:44in nearly 22 years, closing with a market cap of $1.78 trillion.
- 7:52This achievement makes Nvidia, the fourth largest US company, a significant rise from
- 7:57its position outside the top 20 just four years ago.
- 8:03Despite overall market declines, Nvidia's smaller stock drop compared to Amazon's
- 8:08helped it gain the upper hand.
- 8:11And their progress doesn't stop here.
- 8:12It's now eigned to overtake Alphabet, which is valued at $1.81 trillion.
- 8:18Meanwhile, Amazon finished with a $1.75 trillion market cap last year.
- 8:26Upcoming Nvidia earnings are highly anticipated, with expectations of substantial revenue growth,
- 8:33signaling strong demand for its AI hardware.
- 8:37And crypto movement, Bitcoin is currently just under $50,000, Ethereum is at about $2,600,

- 9:39Let's talk tech and space exploration.
- 9:43Last night's SpaceX launch could mark a historic moment in U.S. space travel, being the first
- 9:49return to the moon since 1972.
- 9:54Funded privately and crafted by intuitive machines, the mission aims to deliver scientific
- 9:59instruments to the moon's south pole.
- 10:03This is crucial for SpaceX and Elon Musk's vision of making humanity multi-planetary
- 10:10with Mars as a key target.
- 10:13Although SpaceX has excelled in satellite deployment and astronaut transportation, planetary
- 10:18travel is a new frontier.
- 10:21The mission's success, hinging on today's launch from Florida's Kennedy Space Center,
- 10:26could pave the way for future interplanetary travel.
- 10:30However, risks remain, as highlighted by recent propulsion issues, in similar missions.
- 10:37SpaceX has made specific technical adjustments for this launch, acknowledging the challenges,
- 10:43but remaining hopeful for a successful mission.
- 10:48And in entertainment news.

- 11:43And today, our quote comes from the delightful Catherine Hepburn.
- 11:48Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, only with what you are expecting to
- 11:55give, which is everything.
- 11:59And I wish you all a lot of love on this Valentine's Day.
- 12:06And that's a wrap for this morning.
