- 0:00Flies upstairs with one of them. Having a meltdown right now
- 0:03she's in the room and she's safe all because we asked if they
- 0:08could wash their hands before eating strawberries.
- 0:10So yeah, so we've been watching a little bit of YouTube, but one
- 0:13of the things is like starting a monitoring team if you've got.
- 0:16So today I have the two other kids.
- 0:18So I have two kids from my, you know, previous relationship.
- 0:23And then Olivia has her three. So we have 5 between us.
- 0:27We don't have all 5 all the time, but today we have all 5
- 0:29today. So it's a bit crazy.
- 0:31It's a bit off the wall sometimes because like, as you
- 0:34can tell, look, this is typical stuff was a dog's squishy toy
- 0:38and then somebody's breakfast on the couch.
- 0:42Of course, of course, here's why wouldn't it be?
- 0:44So we have to get things in line.
- 0:47And one of the things, especially for daily life, like
- 0:49if you're dealing with like one of the main things is that you
- 0:51have to have your medication done.
- 0:54So we, we are both on two types of medication, ones S our minds
- 1:03and SMRI and probably you're taking an SSRI and then we're
- 1:08both on Vivint. So if you know what Vivint is,
- 1:10it's a stimulant for ADHD and it's some breakfast here.
- 1:17It's just kind of like a really, it's like a necessary life tool.
- 1:22I think it's probably one of the the most needed meds.
- 1:28However, I need to get flurries Med ready.
- 1:30So we get a Med ready. I charge the flurries
- 1:32headphones, charge my headphones.
- 1:34Wait oh, here's here, let's check dog.
- 1:38The dog keeps peeing there so OK check And I've also got a
- 1:44cheeky. I don't always do this, but
- 1:45like, recently I've been using Monster Energy drink just
- 1:48because, like, it's an extra bit of caffeine, which helps kind of
- 1:52like, keep me calm. But the boys are playing
- 1:56outside. The dog's crazy.
- 1:59So I'm going to get right then. Mala.
- 2:01Yeah, you go down, you go, baby. OK, So if I'm going to get
- 2:07flower migs ready so that she's got her Migs when she comes
- 2:10down, and then what we're going to do is stay Simon.
- 2:14We're going to hang out, play with everyone.
- 2:17Yeah, the donkey is so cute and we thought the dog the same
- 2:23donkey, but he's fully room. What is?
- 2:26That the dish massive donkey. Yeah, Oh yeah.
- 2:31So Sammy has autism level 1. Lucas has also a love one.
- 2:36I have box of love 1. Flammy has autism level 1 and
- 2:39me, Lucas and flower medicated. But Sammy isn't.
- 2:44So this is breakfast. This is awesome.
- 2:46This is like egg cheese toasty. So yeah, it's really
- 2:51interesting, you know, 5 kids, two parents, two of the kids
- 2:54autistic, 2 parents autistic. Like how do we deal with it?
- 2:57I'm actually writing a book right now on this exact thing,
- 3:01you know, like parenting whilst being an autistic parent, you
- 3:05know, how do you deal with those things?
- 3:06And we deal with it in many ways.
- 3:08We've got a lot of different things that we do.
- 3:09We use headphones is kind of like main one or so you're
- 3:11making sure we're medicated. Like that's like #1 so once, if
- 3:15we're not medicated, if we're not medicated, the struggle is
- 3:19harder, right? Oh, guys, salt and pepper is the
- 3:24queen and Corgi is not British. But yeah, if you're unmedicated,
- 3:29it's actually a lot. It's a lot more difficult
- 3:30because, you know, you've got to think about how do you, how do
- 3:35you function on a normal level, but how do you function when you
- 3:37need to function on a higher level?
- 3:39When you need to function when you've got like 5 kids, you need
- 3:42to function higher. So it's kind of like every other
- 3:44day we have 5 kids, but it still doesn't stop it.
- 3:47It doesn't make it any easier. So what we do is make sure we
- 3:52get medicated. That's not some no ones.
- 3:54I make sure you get medicated. Second one is headphones.
- 3:56These guys are amazing. I've had all different types of
- 4:00headphones. I used to swear by the Bose
- 4:02noise constant headphones. But since they they started kind
- 4:08of deteriorating like the sponge on the side of deteriorating.
- 4:11So I have to get a different 1. So I decided that I'd get these
- 4:14Apple ones and they're amazing and a Flavio track and she was
- 4:17like, whoa. So she got a pair.
- 4:19So like we are like Apple headphones.
- 4:22These are the Airpod Max, I think, or iPod pros.
- 4:26No, no iPod Max. That's what I thought.
- 4:29But it's my son's birthday tomorrow and we're doing a
- 4:33surprise birthday party for him to on Wednesday.
- 4:35So today and Monday we've got he's here today with my, my 2
- 4:39youngest. They won't be in the vlog
- 4:40though, because like, you know, his mother and, and my mother,
- 4:45his mother and myself don't want them in the in the vlog because
- 4:50it's just preference, I guess. And of course they don't want to
- 4:53be in the videos anyway. So.
- 4:55But that being said, I'm going to get on and do the dishes
- 4:58because we have dishes to do, dishes to put away, dishes to
- 5:01do. And this house has no
- 5:02dishwasher, which makes things a lot more difficult for executive
- 5:05dysfunction. But one thing that's really
- 5:07interesting is so Flavia is not always here all the time.
- 5:10So sometimes it's just me and my two boys.
- 5:13So I've actually asked the government for help and
- 5:17assistance when the boys are here to help me with executive
- 5:21function, like, you know, just doing things with the kids to
- 5:23make sure I can actually get around.
- 5:24So that's really interesting. It's going to be interesting to
- 5:27see how that gets mapped out. OK, on the other day and I'll
- 5:30let you know how we do different things.
- 5:33Look, my headphones flash headphones and the youngest, OK?
- 6:14So. Flies upstairs with one of them.
- 6:16Having a meltdown right now. She's in the room if she's safe.
- 6:20All because we asked if they could wash their hands before
- 6:24eating strawberries. It's like hard work, right?
- 6:27So we're just lucky that the other four are chilling.
- 6:32Currently watching a bit of the tube.
- 6:36I suppose this is something else nobody thinks about.
- 6:38It's a nice day and I can't decide because the garden's
- 6:40going to be the quietest place to sit because meltdown
- 6:43upstairs. So I have the dog inside with
- 6:46the kids. It's a bit kind of boisterous
- 6:49and kids watching TV. But now there's there's a yeah,
- 6:55honey, come here, babe. There's a lawn mower.
- 6:58Somebody's mowing that lawn outside.
- 7:00You just can't win. Somebody got which is like the
- 7:03most annoying noise. Hey, Sausage.
- 7:07Also we have like 3-3 kids who will have that type of meltdown
- 7:11at least maybe one every two days.
- 7:15So and, and it's hard because like, what do you do when you're
- 7:20the, when you're an autistic as well, But also you're the adult
- 7:23who has to deal with this because then sensory overload
- 7:25for you, right? And this is probably one of the
- 7:28the hardest things to do with headphones.
- 7:29Definitely work. Medication is amazing.
- 7:31And the other one is that you have to practice perseverance.
- 7:34Where is it, sausage little baby?
- 7:36You have to practice perseverance.
- 7:37You have to practice. It's like being calm in chaos,
- 7:40which is difficult because like, who can be calm in chaos, right?
- 7:44Because it's it's the opposite. Mama, Mama, Mama.
- 8:19What can we say about our family?
- 8:20What would you call our family? No, not destructive.
- 8:24What would you say we are? Superpower.
- 8:29Superpower. Unconventional.
- 8:32Super powered. Oh man, yeah, autistic, super
- 8:39happy family. Yeah, we are happy, but we're
- 8:41just. Lucas has a YouTube channel.
- 8:43Lucas, what's it called? Sigma experience.
- 8:45I'm going to link it in the in the description down below and
- 8:49you can check out his What are they just shorts right Just
- 8:52shorts Sammy All good. Okay, so now everyone's calmed
- 8:59down we're actually going to go to my parents house.
- 9:02My parents live just literally around the corner.
- 9:05But what they do have is everything finally got
- 9:07trampolines. They got like swings, they got
- 9:10right on cars, they got a bouncy castle, go swimming pool and all
- 9:12kind of stuff. So we're going to go there, play
- 9:15about with all five kids and my parents got like ice lollies and
- 9:18ice creams and stuff for the kids.
- 9:20So it just helps kind of one of the things that we've learned is
- 9:23that if we can take the kids to get distracted, but in groups
- 9:25like so we take the little ones to do something and then the
- 9:27other big ones to do something, it helps a lot calming them
- 9:30down. But if we can't do it, say it's
- 9:31raining, all my parents can't facilitate US1 of the things we
- 9:34do, is that like Fabio will take like her kids and do something
- 9:39or I'll take my boys and I'll do something just to split them up,
- 9:41you know, to kind of like have some respite.
- 9:42Because I feel like sometimes it's kind of like cabin fever
- 9:46when there's too much fits together.
- 9:47You know, it might have been locked in a room with like 7
- 9:48people, you'd go crazy and you. So I don't blame the kids
- 9:51really. But you know, we can all drive
- 9:53each other a bit mad. So yeah, that's right, isn't it?
- 9:56Let's go then Putz. So I'm wearing these red scented
- 10:00glasses because they give you kind of like a different lens of
- 10:03the world that not too far ahead boys that allow you to kind of
- 10:09like relax. Well, I feel like it helps me
- 10:11anyway. It doesn't, It's not flat
- 10:13doesn't like it, but I do it helps me like feel a bit more
- 10:18kind of like outside of my thoughts, I guess.
- 10:21So it helps me kind of like rationalize and reason things.
- 10:23So I'm trying them anyway whilst dealing with all this nonsense
- 10:28because five kids, wow. But I only got 4 of them because
- 10:31one of them's pending meltdown. So flat stayed home for a little
- 10:34bit to see if you can navigate the meltdown never ending, never
- 10:38ending, but kids issues, you know, like what are you supposed
- 10:41to do? We have to be able to deal with
- 10:43it and like I said, you build resilience to ride along.
- 10:47So anyway, right play time I have to you in a bit do.
- 10:57You know where he throws stuff out the window and the ends up?
- 11:03Here, I need my headphones. OK, guys, so it's the end of the
- 11:08night and I thought if you could see this, but fast sleeping
- 11:12obviously, and I'm I'm going to do some research.
- 11:16This is a great book by Peng Jung about content creation.
- 11:19If you're interested in content creation, this book is the boy
- 11:22and yeah, I want to go through it because I've done a lot on
- 11:27this. We can't see it, but we'll see
- 11:28if we can see it's not there you go.
- 11:30It's weird, you know, all saying anything.
- 11:33But anyway, it's it's a fantastic book and it's one of
- 11:37my content creation Bibles, so definitely check it out.
- 11:41Anyway, there's no rest for the wicked.
- 11:44See you guys tomorrow.
