- 0:39Speaker 3: Okay, start now with the little beetles. I know everybody's
- 0:48Speaker 3: jacked up, at least I am when you hear that.
- 0:50Speaker 3: But now things can go downhill because you're right. This
- 0:54Speaker 3: is not a bad version of Chip Howard. It's just
- 0:58Speaker 3: the bad version of Robert Sessna. Glad you can be
- 1:01Speaker 3: with us for a Monday. Chip's got in his contract.
- 1:05Speaker 3: If the temperature falls under forty, he doesn't have to work. Unbelievable.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Needless to say, he's not interviewing at any station's up
- 1:14Speaker 3: in Minnesota. So with that mind is, you'll have to
- 1:18Speaker 3: put up with me. Not luckily, not for the whole
- 1:22Speaker 3: two hours, because obviously I'm part of the writer's round
- 1:26Speaker 3: table on Monday night, and so that means rusty god willing.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I know he's God fearing, so he'll be here for
- 1:35Speaker 3: the second hour. And because they say I guess at
- 1:42Speaker 3: some point that I'm a boss or whatever, which I'm
- 1:44Speaker 3: really not. I'm not a boss at the house. My
- 1:46Speaker 3: dogs are over me at the house. At the office,
- 1:49Speaker 3: I forget it. But I asked my coworker. He usually
- 1:55Speaker 3: bails me out when I've got to go into the
- 1:57Speaker 3: last minute for Chip, and so Alex Miller has agreed
- 2:01Speaker 3: to struggle for the first hour with me. So and
- 2:05Speaker 3: he's on time. So way to go, Alex.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Hey, we do what we can. You know, I would
- 2:10Speaker 4: have been here about five minutes ago, but you know
- 2:13Speaker 4: they got the nice little construction on Highway six that's
- 2:15Speaker 4: closed off the exit ramped twenty eight eighteen, So really
- 2:19Speaker 4: I had to go down to Southwest Parkway and make
- 2:21Speaker 4: the old U turns.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Well, here's the deal is, I really had a rough
- 2:25Speaker 3: time because I got here on time, because there's so
- 2:28Speaker 3: few cars out on the road right now. And of
- 2:32Speaker 3: course I grew up in Pennsylvania. Come on, people, and
- 2:35Speaker 3: I get it. People are not equipped. I went to
- 2:37Speaker 3: work yesterday. I walked my dogs yesterday. Were there I
- 2:39Speaker 3: went to in the neighborhood. I walked them the day before.
- 2:42Speaker 3: I mean, come on, but I want to tell people, Uh,
- 2:47Speaker 3: we'd six nine three eleven to fifty. You guys didn't
- 2:49Speaker 3: change on listed number because the chip or anything. Are
- 2:52Speaker 3: Louis because anything like that. But it's going to be
- 2:55Speaker 3: kind of all off the wheels day. Hey, I'm doing
- 2:58Speaker 3: the show. It's going to be off the whey. So
- 3:00Speaker 3: if you want to go ahead and join in, or
- 3:03Speaker 3: you want us to change subjects, and it doesn't have
- 3:07Speaker 3: to be about sports, which I'm going to start out,
- 3:09Speaker 3: you know, off the wall. Needless to say. But you
- 3:11Speaker 3: can call us six nine three eleven fifty and I
- 3:13Speaker 3: guess you could also text right, Uh, Cale this, I'm handicapped.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Everybody knows I'm handicapped. So there's two people working my
- 3:22Speaker 3: board today or the or or Brian broadcasting, Trey and Caleb.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I don't know who's training who even though K go
- 3:32Speaker 3: open here for six months. You can't remember my name?
- 3:34Speaker 3: I don't remember. Don't I forget your name? Alex?
- 3:38Speaker 4: What's your name?
- 3:39Speaker 3: Out well? Caleb? He had his feelings hurt, like I go, okay,
- 3:42Speaker 3: what's your guys's name?
- 3:44Speaker 4: Cease? His two most common phrases to me at the office,
- 3:48Speaker 4: what's your name? And then okay the guy?
- 3:52Speaker 3: The guy answered out there, he just didn't drift in.
- 3:54Speaker 3: There's a board guy answering the phone. Right, he's not
- 3:57Speaker 3: in the men's waiting for the men's room. Who's at
- 4:00Speaker 3: jet J E T T. They didn't a jet sweep
- 4:04Speaker 3: after him. I thought that was I thought, only, uh
- 4:06Speaker 3: watch his face? Did at college station?
- 4:09Speaker 4: Huffy up?
- 4:10Speaker 3: Steve? Steve did that? Okay? Start out on a couple
- 4:14Speaker 3: what I would call civic notes. That was always laughing.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I go down North Street a lot because that's where
- 4:22Speaker 3: the ego is to go over to UH A and M,
- 4:26Speaker 3: and I cover things at A and M. I even
- 4:28Speaker 3: had a wreck on this way going that way. But
- 4:31Speaker 3: I always have to laugh when I go to North Street.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I said, you know, if one of these days, if
- 4:34Speaker 3: we get on a radio and I'm gonna what really,
- 4:39Speaker 3: I just have to laugh when you get down North Street. Uh,
- 4:43Speaker 3: I want to get up a petition. I'm thinking about
- 4:45Speaker 3: putting up a petition for people to sign that I
- 4:49Speaker 3: want to remove the signs that say remove the medians.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Because I always have to laugh. Is I'm against the medians,
- 4:57Speaker 3: but to have a sign out says, you know, remove
- 5:02Speaker 3: the meeting. They're not going to remove the medians. I
- 5:04Speaker 3: mean they're here to stay.
- 5:06Speaker 5: You know.
- 5:07Speaker 3: I'm thinking I need to put out a sign in
- 5:09Speaker 3: my uh, you know, uh house and say bring back
- 5:14Speaker 3: the Civil War. I mean we want to. I want
- 5:17Speaker 3: to do best of three or something like that. You
- 5:20Speaker 3: know what could I told we get around of my neighborhood,
- 5:23Speaker 3: but just what I could do? So every day I
- 5:25Speaker 3: got down there, I say, next time I wanted to
- 5:28Speaker 3: show and chip speak carte blanche. I'm gonna say I
- 5:31Speaker 3: want to remove the signs and say remove the medians.
- 5:36Speaker 3: And this is from a guy. And believe me, this
- 5:38Speaker 3: is from a guy. I blew out two tires running
- 5:40Speaker 3: over a meeting one time two years ago, raining I
- 5:44Speaker 3: went to I went to Kentucky Fried Chicken. I give
- 5:48Speaker 3: it to gas. I didn't know they were putting medians there.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Two tires, baby two tars.
- 5:56Speaker 6: O.
- 5:56Speaker 3: So just you know, so I don't know if if
- 6:00Speaker 3: you got a thought on the meetings, you can give
- 6:02Speaker 3: me a call. Uh. And I guess I got to
- 6:05Speaker 3: watch out driving down North Street next time that some
- 6:08Speaker 3: people don't shoot at me and figure out who I am,
- 6:11Speaker 3: because there's about five there's about four or five houses
- 6:13Speaker 3: that has removed removed the medians.
- 6:16Speaker 4: So yeah, I think I think many of us would
- 6:19Speaker 4: be okay if they removed the medians, but I I
- 6:23Speaker 4: sadly believe they are here to stay.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's kind of what I thought. And then my
- 6:27Speaker 3: next civic thing, by the way, is, uh, you can
- 6:31Speaker 3: you can count this maybe as going to church if
- 6:33Speaker 3: you're listening to Cease and Chip and company, because you know,
- 6:37Speaker 3: most churches we didn't have church yesterday. God gave it
- 6:40Speaker 3: a PTO.
- 6:41Speaker 4: You know, so you're having your Monday personal times.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I'm my sermon right now. You know, reverend Reverend Cease
- 6:48Speaker 3: is here, so any kind of help. Another thing that
- 6:51Speaker 3: I didn't know about that I'm kind of interested is
- 6:54Speaker 3: thanks to you.
- 6:55Speaker 7: Uh.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I guess I shouldn't say that, but I'm I'm I
- 6:59Speaker 3: was always I've been on this kick. Why don't we
- 7:03Speaker 3: have billboards honoring when A and M does something like
- 7:06Speaker 3: they win the national championship in volleyball or women's tennis
- 7:12Speaker 3: or track. I go, you know, we do around the
- 7:16Speaker 3: rest of the SEC once in a while because we
- 7:19Speaker 3: do cover things. And I was taken in by last
- 7:23Speaker 3: year in Florida about how many signs had about the
- 7:26Speaker 3: Florida men's basketball team win national championship. I'm thinking, why
- 7:31Speaker 3: don't we do that in Brian college station because a
- 7:36Speaker 3: lot of people passed through. Then you informed me, which
- 7:38Speaker 3: I was not aware of, that you can't have billboards
- 7:41Speaker 3: up in college station. There's a lot of times we
- 7:44Speaker 3: don't know about things that you think we should know about.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And then I know you said that about the billboards,
- 7:50Speaker 3: and I'm thinking, Okay, no one likes the bad billboards, like, uh,
- 7:57Speaker 3: you know, strippers to come to sell so or whatever
- 8:01Speaker 3: or something online free booze or whatever. But you could
- 8:04Speaker 3: go ahead and monitor your billboards. So I'm thinking, why
- 8:08Speaker 3: don't don't we publish in college station? Has always to
- 8:11Speaker 3: me been a progressive. I've lived half my time in
- 8:14Speaker 3: this town, in this city in Brian, half the time
- 8:16Speaker 3: in college station, so I can rip or commend either city.
- 8:22Speaker 3: So why don't you put your best foot forward? Why?
- 8:26Speaker 3: I just boggle me. You could have a committee saying, oh,
- 8:29Speaker 3: we're not putting a sign up, listen to Sessa or
- 8:31Speaker 3: read SESSTA. That's against our religion or something. But as
- 8:35Speaker 3: far as complimenting a team, I think that would be great.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I think the city should want to do that.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Well, they could do it in the city of Brian,
- 8:43Speaker 4: or they could throw one up south of College Station
- 8:45Speaker 4: called the Houston Aggy's Coming into Town.
- 8:47Speaker 3: You pointed out out to me, which I thought about it. Man,
- 8:49Speaker 3: I'm driving, I got an episode a lot, so you
- 8:51Speaker 3: come back and see all the billboards and never put
- 8:53Speaker 3: one and one together and got three. And I'm saying, okay,
- 8:55Speaker 3: that makes sense. But why don't they have billboards?
- 9:00Speaker 4: I don't know. I just you know, somebody had told
- 9:02Speaker 4: me along the way that I don't know if it's
- 9:05Speaker 4: a city ordinance or whatnot, but no billboards in College Station,
- 9:08Speaker 4: which you know, for those of us locals who know
- 9:12Speaker 4: the dividing lines that somewhat exist, there's that little creek
- 9:17Speaker 4: that goes through on Highway six. It's kind of the
- 9:20Speaker 4: dividing line, and on the Bryan side, of the creek.
- 9:24Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure there's a billboard and it's like the
- 9:26Speaker 4: last thing that's before you get out of city limits
- 9:29Speaker 4: and you cross into College Station.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I don't know what the name of that creek is.
- 9:33Speaker 4: I think it's Burton Creek. Actually Burton. My buddy David
- 9:36Speaker 4: used to go fly fishing down there when we were
- 9:39Speaker 4: in college. Chiplett had fun time fishing with David.
- 9:42Speaker 3: But yeah, I just when you told me, I just
- 9:46Speaker 3: just kind of never Maybe someone one time on a
- 9:49Speaker 3: radio show said something, maybe we need to remove the billboards,
- 9:52Speaker 3: and they remove the billboards, so maybe I'll be able
- 9:55Speaker 3: to remove those signs and say remove the median. So
- 9:57Speaker 3: you never know the power of the press or the
- 10:01Speaker 3: power of the radio. I mean, I'm sure Scott and
- 10:04Speaker 3: Lucy has had had a lot of situations where he's
- 10:07Speaker 3: been a trendsetter with what But then you gotta get
- 10:09Speaker 3: up roarer in the morning, and I ain't getting up
- 10:11Speaker 3: that early in the morning.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Needless to say, you stay up while he's getting up.
- 10:15Speaker 3: That's very true. Last week. We always have to laugh
- 10:18Speaker 3: because people don't know me. I try to go to
- 10:22Speaker 3: bed about three am because I'm always been a night
- 10:25Speaker 3: person as long as I can remember it. And the
- 10:28Speaker 3: wife Jessica. She usually gets up at five am to
- 10:32Speaker 3: go to work. And last time, I mean last week,
- 10:35Speaker 3: for the first time, it was on Wednesday or Thursday
- 10:37Speaker 3: night was really cranked up, so I was really working,
- 10:42Speaker 3: so I stayed up till six. So when she got
- 10:45Speaker 3: up at five, she goes, what do you do? You're
- 10:47Speaker 3: steal up And of course the dogs are snoring here,
- 10:49Speaker 3: like we need to go to bed because the dogs
- 10:51Speaker 3: stay up with me. But we overlapped, so that was
- 10:54Speaker 3: kind of a first. And people are going to go
- 10:56Speaker 3: when Chip getting back, I mean, is he getting back soon?
- 11:00Speaker 3: Chip wants to get a new contract, whatever, anything about
- 11:04Speaker 3: non sports that you want to bring up somece some
- 11:07Speaker 3: on my I would call this my let's make Brian
- 11:10Speaker 3: College Station better segment.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Uh, you know, the only thing that comes to mind.
- 11:16Speaker 4: I thought it was interesting. You know, I'm driving I
- 11:19Speaker 4: finally left the house today for the first time since Saturday.
- 11:22Speaker 3: You mentioned that, and.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Obviously I'm here, but I'm driving down Peach Creek Road
- 11:29Speaker 4: because I live south the College station where that's that
- 11:31Speaker 4: and it looks like a total ice worst, like it
- 11:34Speaker 4: looks spooky. There's you know, there's a lot of trees
- 11:36Speaker 4: out there, heavily wooded area, and I tried to take
- 11:40Speaker 4: actually stopped and I tried to take a picture, but
- 11:43Speaker 4: you know, my little iPhone camera is not really doing
- 11:45Speaker 4: it justice. But man, it was just it was kind
- 11:48Speaker 4: of freaky. It was kind of freaky. Uh. But hope
- 11:51Speaker 4: everybody was safe. I hope everybody enjoyed their time. I
- 11:55Speaker 4: made some chili. Do you make anything warm and tasty?
- 11:58Speaker 4: Yesterday or the day before?
- 11:59Speaker 3: The mother law made uh soup, vegetable soup. Last weekend,
- 12:04Speaker 3: I made my chili. My chili is very mild. I'm
- 12:09Speaker 3: not my stomach doesn't agree with it.
- 12:11Speaker 4: So but yes, you got Do you put beans in
- 12:14Speaker 4: your chili?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Love dark red kidney beans. I'm a red kidney bean fan.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's that's my hot take. You can put
- 12:22Speaker 4: beans in your chili. It's still chili. Sorry to offend
- 12:25Speaker 4: the chili police.
- 12:26Speaker 3: But beans, you gotta beans.
- 12:29Speaker 5: Now.
- 12:29Speaker 3: My wife has problems with beans, So I get it.
- 12:33Speaker 7: You know.
- 12:33Speaker 3: It's like, you know, I'm glad that God made it
- 12:36Speaker 3: so far that I can ruin my body which just
- 12:38Speaker 3: eat about anything. So that's but I love, I get
- 12:41Speaker 3: I like I like the salad bar rare salad bars
- 12:45Speaker 3: where you go and they have kidney beans on them,
- 12:46Speaker 3: because a lot of salad bars don't have that. But
- 12:49Speaker 3: if your members I think it was Mother Hubbard or whatever.
- 12:53Speaker 3: It used to be a chain restaurant and uh, I
- 12:56Speaker 3: think that was their name they had. Don't know that one? Okay?
- 13:01Speaker 3: Uh and anything you guys got anything on your mind
- 13:03Speaker 3: about civic before we go to uh, how what I
- 13:07Speaker 3: can say? We are actually gonna talk sports, but Tray
- 13:11Speaker 3: and Calb. You guys married, You guys need dates or
- 13:13Speaker 3: anything like that. You know, maybe throw the lines open.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Oh you are married, congratulations Caleb? Or I been married?
- 13:21Speaker 3: Oh wow, honeymoon still on? You better be careful. She
- 13:27Speaker 3: might be listening. I mean, you know it's like you're
- 13:29Speaker 3: gonna be careful about Oh I need my You guys
- 13:32Speaker 3: will tell me and I need to break you know,
- 13:34Speaker 3: ship usually gives me the sundow. I'd like to speak,

- 13:54Speaker 3: We'll turn to our bucket ball version of of of this.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Of the sports, you're gonna say something, No, I get

- 14:03Speaker 4: I might stick around for that if you'll have me.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Oh yeah, we gotta talk about that. We'll get back.

- 16:26Speaker 3: With flying colors and Alex thinking so much of his
- 16:31Speaker 3: boss married a woman with the same name, so I
- 16:34Speaker 3: can't screw their names up when I holler Alex. And
- 16:38Speaker 3: when I first came down here, a couple there was
- 16:42Speaker 3: good friends of mine. They were Dell and Dell, and
- 16:44Speaker 3: we were We kept them separated by calling one he
- 16:48Speaker 3: Dell and one she Del And this was afore transgender,
- 16:51Speaker 3: so we actually knew what we were talking about. You know,
- 16:54Speaker 3: that was the beauty of it. I'm gonna move on
- 16:57Speaker 3: for social justice with trade. Caleb and je Jets work

- 17:09Speaker 3: wanted to put a shout out. You'd go to a
- 17:16Speaker 3: tennis I mean, the weather is cool, and you'd think, like,
- 17:21Speaker 3: oh my gosh, last thing we want to talk about
- 17:23Speaker 3: is tennis. But I got to give a shout out
- 17:26Speaker 3: to Steve Denton and the men's team going up to
- 17:31Speaker 3: North Carolina and they win two matches and they get
- 17:34Speaker 3: to go to Nationals. And of course the women, you
- 17:36Speaker 3: kind of expect that they're a higher seed. But A
- 17:38Speaker 3: and M should have both gender teams going to the
- 17:43Speaker 3: ITA Nationals, which is amazing. So got to give a
- 17:46Speaker 3: shout out to them. And I know you pay attention
- 17:48Speaker 3: to tennis.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Yeah no, I mean, look that both of these teams
- 17:53Speaker 4: should have pretty successful seasons again this year. You look
- 17:55Speaker 4: at the men, they bring back a good bit of talent.
- 17:59Speaker 4: You think about they had the guy last year, THEO.
- 18:02Speaker 4: He was a freshman. Now he's a sophomore and he's
- 18:04Speaker 4: playing on Papa Malis.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Hey, yeah, the.
- 18:08Speaker 4: I was gonna I was gonna see how you said that.
- 18:12Speaker 4: But yeah, Vio has been playing strong. They got in
- 18:15Speaker 4: a couple of transfers, one from Auburn one from Oklahoma
- 18:18Speaker 4: that were both freshmen last year and we're all SEC caliber.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Brought in a guy from Europe, So look, this is
- 18:25Speaker 4: a This is a pretty solid, well rounded and went
- 18:28Speaker 4: men's tennis team. And they got two pretty good feathers
- 18:31Speaker 4: in their cap this past weekend beating Tennessee and Duke.
- 18:34Speaker 4: So definitely gonna be probably a contending spring for them.
- 18:39Speaker 4: And then on the women's side, look a hm, obviously
- 18:43Speaker 4: they knew they had big shoes to fill with Mary
- 18:45Speaker 4: Stoyana graduating from last year's team. Uh, Nicole Kieran's out
- 18:49Speaker 4: for indefinite amount of time with an undisclosed injury. But look,
- 18:53Speaker 4: they've got a talented team too. Uh, Luciana Perez and
- 18:58Speaker 4: Mia Coopers, they're they're the ones that are step up,
- 19:00Speaker 4: and they've got some depth to with Daria and Lexington
- 19:04Speaker 4: down down the courts. They've got in a couple of
- 19:06Speaker 4: newbies as well that have that have played pretty well.
- 19:08Speaker 4: So uh, they're playing tomorrow afternoon.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Oh, they go, You know, when I'm driving over here,
- 19:14Speaker 3: you think of things. And I said, man, I gotta
- 19:15Speaker 3: ask Alex if they because I don't remember them scheduling.
- 19:18Speaker 3: They said, they're going to wait to see who won
- 19:20Speaker 3: the Arizona whatever TC.
- 19:23Speaker 4: Right, they're playing. They're supposed to play tomorrow at one pm.
- 19:26Speaker 4: I think Tennis Center be a little chilly.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Today, got a little bit better, So that's good. And
- 19:32Speaker 3: once again, as you stay in the top sixteen, that
- 19:34Speaker 3: means you host regionals and so that's a great chance
- 19:36Speaker 3: and we'll have a and there is a strong tennis
- 19:39Speaker 3: community in Brian College Station, so there is good. So
- 19:42Speaker 3: we're gonna switch gears a little bit. I do want
- 19:43Speaker 3: to talk a little bit of NFL since obviously yesterday.
- 19:47Speaker 3: In the NFL, we'll talk a little bit about America's team,
- 19:50Speaker 3: my Steeters, will talk a little bit about Russia's team,
- 19:53Speaker 3: the Cowboys. So you know when you look at it,
- 19:56Speaker 3: Haron McCarthy and uh.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Yeah, what do you think of that?
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah? I was gonna say Trey asked me that when
- 20:03Speaker 3: I walked in sit again, this got the old chee
- 20:07Speaker 3: chee here. But my big Steelers fan obviously grew up
- 20:10Speaker 3: outside Pittsburgh. Uh, time for Tomlin to go, Past time
- 20:15Speaker 3: for Tomlin to go. I always tell people I love
- 20:19Speaker 3: my journalistic integrity, but when you get your fan, you're
- 20:22Speaker 3: a fan. I'm a fan of all the Pittsburgh teams.
- 20:26Speaker 3: I'm a big Pirate fan. And man, it's been a tough,
- 20:29Speaker 3: tough couple of decades, needless Paul Skins. But once again,
- 20:34Speaker 3: is who cares if you can win one? It's once
- 20:36Speaker 3: every five days. I mean, it's it's it's my life.
- 20:39Speaker 3: But it's not gonna make it in baseball. What can
- 20:41Speaker 3: we say? My Penguins are doing good right now. But anyway, McCarthy, so,
- 20:45Speaker 3: when I thought they got rid of Tomlin, I thought
- 20:48Speaker 3: they would keep the the ill going. I was actually hoping.
- 20:52Speaker 3: I wouldn't have been upset if they'd hadn't won the QBACS.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I mean, I think you got good jeans there. I've
- 21:00Speaker 3: fortunate enough to know Gary Kubiak. I can always tell
- 21:04Speaker 3: a story. One of the first times I met him,
- 21:07Speaker 3: he was had his any he would even forget this,
- 21:10Speaker 3: but he was at a place called the Sports Club,
- 21:14Speaker 3: uh and it was owned by Larry Stegent, former A
- 21:17Speaker 3: and M player, And I was in there and he
- 21:19Speaker 3: had his girlfriend, who I think became his wife, just
- 21:22Speaker 3: was in there for a night and I walked over
- 21:24Speaker 3: because at that time I was second in commit covering
- 21:28Speaker 3: A and M. So I ever just talk to him.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Just He's always been a great guy, that's my bottom line.
- 21:31Speaker 3: And to see how he has his life has gone.
- 21:35Speaker 3: He was back up to Alway and consider that and
- 21:37Speaker 3: then his kids. I mean, you know, they say you
- 21:40Speaker 3: don't learn far away, But my point being is I
- 21:42Speaker 3: wouldn't have I would liked to see one of the
- 21:45Speaker 3: qbacs get hired because follow the uh the blueprint, whether
- 21:51Speaker 3: it was Kower Love Kower love cowor that was to me,
- 21:55Speaker 3: you cannot how could you not like Chuck Knowle. I mean,
- 21:58Speaker 3: Chuck Knowle was was a class I'll Tom Landry. Everybody
- 22:02Speaker 3: knows I'm a big cowboy hater. But you can't hate
- 22:04Speaker 3: Tom Landry. Tom Landry is like you'd say, like you'd
- 22:06Speaker 3: hate God. I mean, come on, it's like you're in Texas,
- 22:10Speaker 3: not say you hate Tom Landry. I can remember when
- 22:13Speaker 3: he came and spoke to a banquet at Caldwell. Tom Landry,
- 22:18Speaker 3: you think about that just I mean, just a class guy.
- 22:21Speaker 3: But anyway, and then out of the clear blue when
- 22:24Speaker 3: they said they're gonna har they're gonna interview macarthy and go, wow,
- 22:27Speaker 3: that's different than all the other guys that are interviewing
- 22:30Speaker 3: because all the other guys was an assistant whatever. And
- 22:33Speaker 3: then they hired McCarthy and uh, it was a little
- 22:36Speaker 3: bit like when they signed Uh Rogers, I don't I
- 22:40Speaker 3: don't think it's a good move.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Uh.
- 22:42Speaker 3: And Rogers, I give him his prop. He played well
- 22:45Speaker 3: the last five, six, seven, eight games. They didn't lose
- 22:49Speaker 3: because of him. I mean, I can't say that they
- 22:52Speaker 3: have deeper problems, and I don't think they're gonna get
- 22:55Speaker 3: rid of their problems by hiring a veteran coach. Read
- 22:59Speaker 3: a lot of columnists up there, it's looked like they
- 23:01Speaker 3: just want to win a playoff game, you know. They
- 23:04Speaker 3: they haven't won a playoff games since twenty sixteen. And
- 23:07Speaker 3: you think about the Steelers, it's all this great franchise
- 23:11Speaker 3: with all these super Bowls and they got a coach
- 23:14Speaker 3: who's never had a losing season on who cares if
- 23:16Speaker 3: you don't win big games? I mean, that's ridiculous. So
- 23:20Speaker 3: you're a Cowboy fan, right? Oh yeah? So did you
- 23:23Speaker 3: like it when McCarthy was there? So yeah, I didn't
- 23:25Speaker 3: really pay that. I thought McCarthy was a pretty good
- 23:27Speaker 3: offensive coach. You know, I didn't know if he was
- 23:31Speaker 3: a good or back to be quite honest with just
- 23:33Speaker 3: a Steeler guy. I know, he didn't win any Super
- 23:36Speaker 3: Bowls with the Cowboys, so that was a good thing
- 23:38Speaker 3: for me.
- 23:39Speaker 4: So so, I mean, look, Dallas has had so many
- 23:42Speaker 4: issues and like the Steelers, Yeah, and you know, I
- 23:47Speaker 4: see stuff it's like Dak's like Dak w wasn't the problem, right.
- 23:52Speaker 4: You know, McCarthy was the kind of coach that I
- 23:55Speaker 4: think Jerry really wanted because I feel like he kind
- 23:58Speaker 4: of went in line with a lot of things that
- 24:00Speaker 4: Jerry wanted, Like Jerry, Jerry wants people that will follow
- 24:04Speaker 4: the marching orders. Right. Oh yeah, he would have never
- 24:07Speaker 4: hired someone like Dan Campbell that was just gonna do
- 24:10Speaker 4: his own thing, right Campbell, Like, could you imagine Dan
- 24:13Speaker 4: Campbell coaching the Cowboys?
- 24:14Speaker 3: That'd be crazy one game? Yeah, yeah.
- 24:19Speaker 4: But look, McCarthy's a great coach. He's won just about
- 24:22Speaker 4: everywhere he's been. He won a Super Bowl at Green Bay, right,
- 24:27Speaker 4: beat Steelers, beat Steelers. Look you at the cow The
- 24:30Speaker 4: Cowboys had like what four straight seasons of twelve wins
- 24:34Speaker 4: or more. I mean that, And I get it you're
- 24:37Speaker 4: judged by how you do in the playoffs. But the
- 24:39Speaker 4: fact of the matter is he had a team in
- 24:41Speaker 4: contention to compete in the postseason. It's just a matter
- 24:44Speaker 4: of can you win when it matters most?
- 24:47Speaker 3: Right, here's the deal is. And I hope I'm wrong
- 24:52Speaker 3: because I was talking to try and kind of before
- 24:57Speaker 3: the show went on about he does things the old way.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Great offense, but in today's today's offense. You got to
- 25:06Speaker 3: be like a Dan Campbell, you know, he kind of
- 25:09Speaker 3: change things. You talk about somebody changing things, gone for
- 25:12Speaker 3: fourth down at your own thirty nine yard line and
- 25:15Speaker 3: doing different things. And I'm not saying you have to
- 25:18Speaker 3: do that, but I always have to laugh when people
- 25:22Speaker 3: you know cover it and what do you think about
- 25:24Speaker 3: Elko and this and that? And I said, hey, I
- 25:26Speaker 3: don't care what he calls one third and two, just
- 25:27Speaker 3: as long as you pick it up, picks it up.
- 25:29Speaker 3: If he doesn't picks it up, he's gonna get ridiculed.
- 25:32Speaker 3: And I don't know if McCarthy's going to be modern enough.
- 25:37Speaker 3: When you look at you know, Burrough and Cincinnati and
- 25:40Speaker 3: you know Baltimore's gonna have a new coach now, Cleveland's
- 25:44Speaker 3: going to have a new coach with all that talent.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Is the old school the way to go, because I
- 25:49Speaker 3: don't want to just get to the playoffs and win
- 25:52Speaker 3: that first round. I want I want to have And
- 25:54Speaker 3: they're not built right now to have long time success
- 25:57Speaker 3: because when you look at Watts, when you look at Hey,
- 26:00Speaker 3: they're old. Their secondary, every most of the guys queen
- 26:04Speaker 3: at the linebacker, they're old and uh football. Uh, what's
- 26:10Speaker 3: what's funny is to me, the NFL has become a
- 26:12Speaker 3: young man's game, you know if you're young, but college
- 26:15Speaker 3: has become an old man's game. If you got to
- 26:17Speaker 3: twenty three and twenty four year old guys. Oh that's
- 26:20Speaker 3: it's amazing to me. Alex how that's changed. Uh when
- 26:24Speaker 3: you got Indiana you got a twenty three year old quarterback?
- 26:27Speaker 3: Or howeveryear old he was, all these veterans are getting
- 26:29Speaker 3: foot in football. I think it works against you. Uh,
- 26:33Speaker 3: Sam Darnold, I mean he was a he was a bust.
- 26:36Speaker 3: I can remember how bad he was when Hewans said, Jets,
- 26:38Speaker 3: he's got me in his Super Bowl.
- 26:40Speaker 4: He's got to be in the Super Bowl. And what
- 26:43Speaker 4: what a what a terrific day of football yesterday. I mean, look,
- 26:46Speaker 4: I know it kind of it was a slog fest
- 26:48Speaker 4: toward the end of that Denver New England game, but
- 26:52Speaker 4: I mean it was kind of fun to watch when
- 26:55Speaker 4: you thought about it. And then obviously the Rams and
- 26:58Speaker 4: Seahawks delivered to be a pretty good game as well.
- 27:02Speaker 4: I was hoping that the Rams would get just a
- 27:05Speaker 4: little bit more time on the clock to have had
- 27:08Speaker 4: a shot to make it interesting. What'd you think was
- 27:12Speaker 4: he in bounds? You get out of bounds at the
- 27:13Speaker 4: end of the game.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Okay, Now I can tell good story, good sea story.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Stayed up, stayed home and watched the Denver game against
- 27:24Speaker 3: New England. And I loved the game because that's the
- 27:30Speaker 3: kind of atmosphere I grew up, the weather or the
- 27:32Speaker 3: bat Let's go out and play. You know, we went
- 27:34Speaker 3: out as long as you know, our parents didn't care
- 27:38Speaker 3: if they could even see us or where we're ats
- 27:40Speaker 3: long as we got home on time. You're out doing
- 27:42Speaker 3: everything in the snow and having a good time instead
- 27:46Speaker 3: of watch that environment. This is what I love about football.
- 27:48Speaker 3: I loved the home field advantage. I loved going to
- 27:51Speaker 3: the stadiums. When you go out, there's going to Jerry World.
- 27:54Speaker 3: I get it. Gone to all those places, you know,
- 27:57Speaker 3: you and I have been to a lot of them,
- 27:59Speaker 3: but yet the elements it's still a game that should
- 28:02Speaker 3: be To me, football is a game. It should be
- 28:04Speaker 3: played outdoors. So and I see that. I love it.
- 28:06Speaker 3: So I watched the game. But yesterday ain't in women's
- 28:11Speaker 3: basketball game come on at five o'clock, which is a
- 28:14Speaker 3: bastard time as far as the NFL playoffs are concerned
- 28:16Speaker 3: because it's just coming on. So and we got to
- 28:21Speaker 3: watch the game on TV and write what we see
- 28:23Speaker 3: and listen to the postgame and do all that. So
- 28:26Speaker 3: I watched the women's game. So it turns out into
- 28:29Speaker 3: the third quarter when they and and women are getting
- 28:31Speaker 3: their butts handed to them, so to speak. I said,
- 28:33Speaker 3: I'm going down in the office, everybody and go. So
- 28:37Speaker 3: make a long story short. I never watched any of
- 28:40Speaker 3: the Rams Cigarets games. So what's funny is got the
- 28:47Speaker 3: story done by about whatever time. It was X time
- 28:49Speaker 3: to get into your boss and my boss, mister Ricky's
- 28:53Speaker 3: in love wigman, you know, and get get in. So
- 28:55Speaker 3: I felt real good. So get in the car to
- 28:56Speaker 3: go home and I go, man, you stop by, get
- 28:58Speaker 3: a sandwich. You go Wait a minute, there's still a
- 29:01Speaker 3: football game on. I'd focused so much on ani Whens basketball.
- 29:05Speaker 3: I plump forgot. Looked at my phone. There was two
- 29:09Speaker 3: minutes in seven seconds to play. I saw the play
- 29:12Speaker 3: before the two minutes. I missed everything. So I can't
- 29:16Speaker 3: answer your question, but there was a long.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Answer, wasn't it On the last play of the game season.
- 29:23Speaker 3: He was in bounced the clock rounds. It doesn't matter
- 29:27Speaker 3: when I'm watching it live as I'm making a salad
- 29:30Speaker 3: back in there, you know, because I'm getting ready. I go,
- 29:33Speaker 3: holy crap, he caught that ball. I said, he got screwed.
- 29:36Speaker 3: I said, he's got to be out of bounce. So
- 29:38Speaker 3: I ran out, ran from the kitchen over to the
- 29:41Speaker 3: living room. Closer. I go, dang, refs, got it right.
- 29:45Speaker 3: I go, what to catch? What two plays to get
- 29:48Speaker 3: to the almost the fifty yard line? I mean, that's
- 29:51Speaker 3: what I just saw. But oh yeah, he was in
- 29:54Speaker 3: and he caught the ball. But two seconds.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Oh man, the tough way to lose.
- 30:00Speaker 3: What game was? It was had been the Denver game.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Then when they got the one second time out, like
- 30:07Speaker 3: the guy fell right in front of him, was that
- 30:10Speaker 3: either I guess that was before halftime. There's no way
- 30:13Speaker 3: he caught that ball and got the attention of the
- 30:17Speaker 3: coach in one second. I go, that's almost like made
- 30:20Speaker 3: for TV. I mean, you you got to know that
- 30:22Speaker 3: he's going to catch the ball. You got to hear that,
- 30:24Speaker 3: and they go, please put one second. But I go,
- 30:26Speaker 3: there's no way. But it's the NFL.
- 30:28Speaker 4: But it didn't matter because he totally shanked.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Oh it looked like I was kicking it. I just
- 30:34Speaker 3: stared laughing. You know when I go, that's t shots
- 30:38Speaker 3: on it, Brocress, like, look, go out in the woods
- 30:41Speaker 3: and see if you find a squirrel before your mind
- 30:43Speaker 3: of my ball. But I did watch that game. I
- 30:46Speaker 3: always love those timing issues and all that. How about
- 30:49Speaker 3: the behind the behind the pass when uh, when the
- 30:53Speaker 3: quarterback got hit early. That was pretty close to whether
- 30:56Speaker 3: that was a backward pass or not.
- 30:58Speaker 4: That was a big play in the game to.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Stenham, You Steham game. Stenham came Ire and Platt. Remember
- 31:03Speaker 3: that you seen Stedman.
- 31:05Speaker 4: He he beat A and M twice at Auburn. Oh
- 31:08Speaker 4: I know, I mean twice. First year with Jimbo, animal
- 31:12Speaker 4: was at Auburn, came back and beat him. They were
- 31:14Speaker 4: down ten with ten minutes to go, scored two touchdowns
- 31:17Speaker 4: and won the game.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Who says people remember everything?
- 31:19Speaker 4: And then yeah, the next year it was one of
- 31:22Speaker 4: those eleven am kicks where a M just woke up
- 31:25Speaker 4: sleepy and didn't show up.
- 31:27Speaker 3: I always actually liked Bubbo knicks, I mean, because I
- 31:31Speaker 3: felt like, here's this small guy. He does not He's
- 31:34Speaker 3: not a six four two twenty. Guy is a cerebral guy.
- 31:38Speaker 4: Jake Wes likes him too.
- 31:40Speaker 3: I thought it was a good fit for Peyton. I
- 31:43Speaker 3: think Peyton's see I was hoping wouldn't happen. I'd love
- 31:47Speaker 3: the Steelers to have Sean Payton as a coach. I mean,
- 31:50Speaker 3: he knows how to coach and knows how to cheat.
- 31:51Speaker 3: I mean, you know, you think about all the good things,
- 31:54Speaker 3: but anyway Bo knicks. I feel bad for him. Your
- 31:58Speaker 3: second year, you have a team that you could go
- 32:00Speaker 3: and win the Super Bowl, and you hurt your ankle.
- 32:03Speaker 3: He might never get back to this situation where he's
- 32:06Speaker 3: got something, And that's when you feel like you're cursed.
- 32:09Speaker 3: You think about his career at Auburn, goes to Oregon,
- 32:13Speaker 3: comes close a couple of years, doesn't quite get it,
- 32:16Speaker 3: Goes to the NFL, big success story, quickly get a
- 32:19Speaker 3: chance to go to the Super Bowl. Man, he's gotta
- 32:22Speaker 3: feel You've got to feel a little like you're jinxed.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Hey what about like you said, though, Sam Darnold, what
- 32:29Speaker 4: a story?
- 32:30Speaker 5: I mean?
- 32:30Speaker 4: Oh, I saw I saw one of the ESPN analysts
- 32:36Speaker 4: that was saying, uh, you know when when when they
- 32:40Speaker 4: waived Gino Smith back then. You know that was such
- 32:44Speaker 4: a bad decision. But here we go.
- 32:46Speaker 3: You think about it, got rid of peck Carrol. I
- 32:49Speaker 3: mean I can't even here. I don't even know the
- 32:50Speaker 3: Seattle Seattle head coaches, but more power to him. Okay,
- 32:54Speaker 3: uh guys, this is uh subjects and that's all I
- 33:01Speaker 3: need to say. You guys are great.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Hey, if your car, your truck didn't run the way
- 33:07Speaker 1: was supposed to this past weekend, stop in and see
- 33:10Speaker 1: my friends at sefcheck Service Center, Pat and Marker carrying
- 33:13Speaker 1: on the long family tradition. When I say long, over
- 33:17Speaker 1: half century, they've been taking care of people all over
- 33:20Speaker 1: the Brass Valley. If you're going on the road, make
- 33:23Speaker 1: sure you are road ready and they will get you there,
- 33:27Speaker 1: whether it's something small like an oil change or something
- 33:31Speaker 1: a little bit more complicated. They take care of these
- 33:33Speaker 1: things every day, and there's no better place to go
- 33:36Speaker 1: for emergencies, debt, batteries, flat tires.

- 36:15Speaker 3: guys are long.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Hey, you know what we're talking about? Good stories, real quick,
- 36:20Speaker 4: good story I thought of. Okay, how about former A
- 36:24Speaker 4: and M football player Boone need Coffer going to be
- 36:27Speaker 4: on the team usay Bob sledding. That's a good one
- 36:31Speaker 4: group at the Winter Olympics here this next month. I mean,
- 36:35Speaker 4: I think a lot of us remember Boone.
- 36:37Speaker 3: He was a nice guy.
- 36:39Speaker 4: He was such a nice walk on turned scholarship player,
- 36:43Speaker 4: had a pretty productive couple of seasons towards the end
- 36:45Speaker 4: of his career too.
- 36:47Speaker 3: And I mean I forgot that good thing.
- 36:50Speaker 4: What an interesting Bob sledding? And you know I was
- 36:55Speaker 4: going you and I went back and our former colleague
- 36:59Speaker 4: and at kBT X now Travis Brown wrote a really
- 37:01Speaker 4: good feature about uh apples, Yes, uh Boone's journey to
- 37:07Speaker 4: Bob Sledding. Boone's Journey to Bob Sledding that's not oh,
- 37:10Speaker 4: I can say that via.
- 37:12Speaker 3: Sponsored by Boone's farm.
- 37:13Speaker 4: There you go, he wrote. Travis wrote a great feature
- 37:17Speaker 4: about this is back in twenty twenty one and thought
- 37:20Speaker 4: it was interesting going back and reading. You know the
- 37:22Speaker 4: way he got back in or got into bob sledging.
- 37:25Speaker 4: It was because of former twelfth Man Sam Miller and Mueller.
- 37:30Speaker 3: If you're like me, yeah, just make make sure you
- 37:33Speaker 3: spell it right.
- 37:34Speaker 4: And so just an interesting journey in pretty dang cool.
- 37:41Speaker 4: In Adam's press release today, they said that Boone's the
- 37:45Speaker 4: first aem athlete to be in the Winter Olympics. Of course,
- 37:49Speaker 4: Adams had many Summer Olympians, but first Winter Olympic participants
- 37:54Speaker 4: since at least nineteen eighty, which I'm trying to think, like,
- 37:58Speaker 4: who else would have even have been in the Winter Olympics?
- 38:02Speaker 4: Remain him?
- 38:03Speaker 3: I mean nobody.
- 38:04Speaker 4: I don't think you got any downhill skiers practicing at
- 38:07Speaker 4: Mount Aggie.
- 38:07Speaker 3: But but I also have to give him props because
- 38:10Speaker 3: I think he's thirty two, So that's sticking with it.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Being an athlete, you think about all the training you
- 38:13Speaker 3: gotta do.
- 38:14Speaker 4: Pay for a lot of that yourself.
- 38:16Speaker 3: You got to raise your own money. One or the other.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Go back when Travis did destroy before those guys had
- 38:21Speaker 3: go meet funds. Now maybe back then it wasn't funded
- 38:25Speaker 3: by by the government. Maybe now they get a little funding.
- 38:28Speaker 3: I don't know. You're right, just a great uh uh.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Every year the media has their favorites for all sports
- 38:37Speaker 3: because it's you know, Brenda, this is our job. So
- 38:41Speaker 3: we want people that are very quotable and don't give
- 38:45Speaker 3: the boy. We're gonna give it up. We're taking one
- 38:47Speaker 3: game at a time. We really want to do well.
- 38:49Speaker 3: This is the best team we faced our oh and sixteen,
- 38:51Speaker 3: but oh you never know, they might win da da duh.
- 38:54Speaker 3: And he was always one of the favorites.
- 38:55Speaker 4: You know, there's been a couple of guys on the
- 38:57Speaker 4: AE men's basketball team. We'll talk to some more. Inemen's
- 39:00Speaker 4: ask about here coming up, and I think we're gonna
- 39:02Speaker 4: listen to Bucky here in a short bit. But a
- 39:04Speaker 4: couple of players that have been really outstanding. Of course,
- 39:07Speaker 4: for Sean Agy, he's been Adams, the mass factor, glue guy, right,
- 39:11Speaker 4: he's the team captain. And then how about Ryle and
- 39:14Speaker 4: Griffin was just the quote of the year this last week.
- 39:18Speaker 4: You know, we talked to him after the Mississippi State
- 39:20Speaker 4: game and the day before he gave this long, really
- 39:24Speaker 4: great answer about amam's need to in the things they
- 39:29Speaker 4: need to look out for and guarding Mississippi State standout
- 39:32Speaker 4: guard Josh Hubbard. And so after the game on Wednesday,
- 39:35Speaker 4: I go, hey, you know, how'd you guys handle him
- 39:39Speaker 4: so well? And he's starting to talk and he's starting
- 39:42Speaker 4: to he's given this good answer, and he's like, you know,
- 39:44Speaker 4: the press just really wore on him, and he goes, yeah,
- 39:49Speaker 4: you know, I know Josh personally, And at one point
- 39:51Speaker 4: he's like, man, I'll ever gonna stop pressing. I'm getting
- 39:55Speaker 4: tired out here. And Ryland apparently told him like, unfortunately.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Not Bro, that's Li's sit on your broadcast.
- 40:03Speaker 4: Hilarious. I was watching the broadcast that is objectively hilarious.
- 40:08Speaker 4: And Ryland Griffin, great quote, great kid, he's playing fantastic rain.
- 40:12Speaker 3: And by the way, right now, by the way, you
- 40:13Speaker 3: brought a good thought. I could take ag with me
- 40:16Speaker 3: to pick up those medium signs. Okay, we'll right back
- 40:19Speaker 3: off this timeout.
- 40:20Speaker 13: You have Hona town people knocking on your door and
- 40:22Speaker 13: there are circus tents all over the area. It's bad
- 40:26Speaker 13: enough to handlos damage to your car truck, but you

- 40:35Speaker 13: they can pop the dents out. You can make an

- 41:50Speaker 4: I don't know we're doing karaoke too. You get a
- 41:53Speaker 4: little that bit of everything today.
- 41:54Speaker 3: We might have to put sitting by the talk of
- 41:56Speaker 3: the Bay back, bring it back from the seas on Saturday.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Glad us for a Monday. A nice Monday turned out.
- 42:04Speaker 3: You're here with Cease, Alex, Trey, Caleb. You still wake
- 42:09Speaker 3: out there, Jet Okay, got a nothing's hotter right now
- 42:15Speaker 3: than bucket ball. You gotta love Bucky ball. And I'm
- 42:18Speaker 3: interested because I didn't get a chance. I've been so busy.
- 42:21Speaker 3: I want to hear what he said after the game.
- 42:23Speaker 6: Great turnout by the fans and the students. It was
- 42:26Speaker 6: such a good vibe man, such an intimidating home court
- 42:29Speaker 6: atmosphere for someone to come in here and try to
- 42:31Speaker 6: play against that, and that's fun. And uh, we really
- 42:37Speaker 6: our crowd is is such a part of what we
- 42:40Speaker 6: got going on. And you felt them today and that
- 42:43Speaker 6: was that was really good. It's great first half.
- 42:45Speaker 3: Our guys.
- 42:45Speaker 6: We knew they'd probably make their run at some point
- 42:48Speaker 6: in the second half, but you know, we won both halves.
- 42:51Speaker 6: Scored ninety two points an sec game had twenty five
- 42:54Speaker 6: assists in the game and only nine turnovers, So we
- 42:59Speaker 6: did that. We shot will because we passed the ball. Well,
- 43:03Speaker 6: you know, we could say, well we were hot, but
- 43:05Speaker 6: you know, Ruben also could have made probably three four
- 43:07Speaker 6: more threes. So the good part is that, you know,
- 43:10Speaker 6: we were getting the right looks and it wasn't just
- 43:12Speaker 6: shot making. We probably we shared the ball so that
- 43:15Speaker 6: the shots that we got were ones I expect to
- 43:17Speaker 6: go in. So we obviously get a week off here
- 43:20Speaker 6: and then we go to Georgia, which will be obviously
- 43:22Speaker 6: a war in Athens. But I appreciate y'all covering.
- 43:25Speaker 7: Hey, Buggy, yeah, I know you expect me to go in.
- 43:28Speaker 13: But when you see a guy that's been a role
- 43:31Speaker 13: player like Sack Clemon's coming out and he just starts,
- 43:35Speaker 13: you know, so incredibly hot.
- 43:37Speaker 7: I mean, doesn't that at least surprise you to some degree.
- 43:41Speaker 6: Well, Zach can really shoot it. I mean he really can.
- 43:43Speaker 6: He's a great shooter, and you know he can get
- 43:46Speaker 6: going like I mean, that's that's It's easy to stop
- 43:50Speaker 6: a team that has a shooter or two on the floor.
- 43:52Speaker 6: It's really hard to shop stop a team that have
- 43:54Speaker 6: four shooters on the floor and sometimes five because if
- 43:57Speaker 6: you just say we're not gonna let Zach get one
- 43:58Speaker 6: off or Ruben get get and often pops open.
- 44:02Speaker 5: Right.
- 44:02Speaker 6: So I've seen Zach have practices like that where he
- 44:06Speaker 6: literally can't miss, and that's.
- 44:07Speaker 7: His strength, and that's one of the reasons we brought
- 44:09Speaker 7: him here.
- 44:09Speaker 6: He's a he's a stretch big and you know he
- 44:12Speaker 6: made he made seven or Sean made one.
- 44:16Speaker 7: So, uh, you know that was that was good to see.
- 44:19Speaker 6: Uh.
- 44:19Speaker 10: South Carolina entered the game, Uh, number one in the SEC,
- 44:24Speaker 10: tenth nationally and three point percentage defense.
- 44:26Speaker 7: Is there anything you guys.
- 44:28Speaker 10: Did differently to kind of exploit then like other teams
- 44:31Speaker 10: haven't or was it just a matter of getting hot.
- 44:33Speaker 7: And making open shots.
- 44:35Speaker 6: Just get it out in transition, right, try to try
- 44:37Speaker 6: to be teams just them or anybody before the defense
- 44:41Speaker 6: gets set, and try to keep them on the run.
- 44:43Speaker 6: I mean a factor in the game. You know, we
- 44:45Speaker 6: had eighteen fast breakpoints and held them to zero, which
- 44:49Speaker 6: is a big factor in the game.
- 44:52Speaker 7: So you know, I think that's the biggest.
- 44:54Speaker 6: Deal is just keep being us, try to get out early,
- 44:57Speaker 6: put him on the run, and keep them on the
- 44:59Speaker 6: run as much as we can can.
- 45:01Speaker 4: What did you see from the effort you guys had
- 45:03Speaker 4: on the boards today and just the collective effort as well.
- 45:06Speaker 6: Yeah, we're just rebounding the ball better offensively. You know,
- 45:09Speaker 6: obviously we had less opportunities to offensive rebound, but we
- 45:12Speaker 6: got almost double offensive rebounds, and then defensive rebounds we
- 45:17Speaker 6: obviously had more. We won the rebound margin forty three
- 45:20Speaker 6: to thirty. Just giving the right effort on the glass,
- 45:22Speaker 6: you know, and attacking balls. And you know, when you rebound,
- 45:25Speaker 6: you can run, so that's the thing which can't run
- 45:28Speaker 6: before you rebound, and so we're getting better with that.
- 45:30Speaker 6: The things we wanted to focus on with rebound and
- 45:32Speaker 6: better offensively and defensively this has been the deal in
- 45:35Speaker 6: the past couple of games, and then having less turnovers
- 45:37Speaker 6: on offense, and these are said than done. But we
- 45:40Speaker 6: went at halftime and we were shooting something crazy from
- 45:43Speaker 6: three in transition. I got to look at it was
- 45:45Speaker 6: just something insane. We're a good transition three point shooting team,
- 45:48Speaker 6: and when we can rebound the ball, we can play
- 45:51Speaker 6: to one of our strength, which is transition basketball.
- 45:55Speaker 7: You mentioned how much the passing plays into getting hot
- 45:59Speaker 7: like that.
- 46:00Speaker 4: Is there something you can see before a game or
- 46:02Speaker 4: during a game that you you can see the form
- 46:05Speaker 4: of the shot that maybe with the passing, that the
- 46:07Speaker 4: passing is going to be so precise.
- 46:09Speaker 6: Again, you know, it's just the vibe. They've been practicing good.
- 46:14Speaker 6: Their chemistry is good. The way we practice, we practice
- 46:18Speaker 6: a lot of disadvantage basketball, where basically, you know, we
- 46:22Speaker 6: have to read and find the two on one on
- 46:24Speaker 6: the floor, and we just do it so much that
- 46:28Speaker 6: it becomes second nature to them just finding the two
- 46:30Speaker 6: on one. And you're seeing these guys now like in transition,
- 46:33Speaker 6: Pop had a great play recomping he drops it back
- 46:35Speaker 6: to the shooter, And I think that when that stuff
- 46:39Speaker 6: becomes contagious, and it's contagious the other way. And so
- 46:42Speaker 6: I think our team's playing, uh where they're having fun
- 46:45Speaker 6: and playing the game the right way.
- 46:49Speaker 4: Does a break come in a good time or would
- 46:51Speaker 4: you rather not have a week off? Considering the way
- 46:54Speaker 4: y'all played this week, I.
- 46:55Speaker 6: Think breaks are always good if you can, if you
- 46:58Speaker 6: you know out there, they're always good. Our teams have
- 47:01Speaker 6: always seemed to play decent coming off of a break,
- 47:04Speaker 6: whether it was Christmas or whatever. I mean we play
- 47:07Speaker 6: up tempo. Some of these guys you need some rest.
- 47:10Speaker 6: I was in a league where you didn't have a break,
- 47:12Speaker 6: and that may not maybe in your first game back,
- 47:15Speaker 6: maybe you're not as sharp sometimes. But I do think
- 47:18Speaker 6: for the duration of the season, it's a good thing.
- 47:21Speaker 4: And coach, at the beginning of the game, you'll dropped
- 47:23Speaker 4: into a fourteen seven deficit.
- 47:24Speaker 8: What is about your team that you can get the
- 47:26Speaker 8: kind of response where everyone can get involved.
- 47:28Speaker 6: We can shoot it. I mean, but now, and we
- 47:32Speaker 6: stay with what we do. I mean, it's a good question.
- 47:34Speaker 6: We stay with what we do, which is we're going
- 47:36Speaker 6: to be us in the full court and you know,
- 47:40Speaker 6: just keep grinding, keep playing fast, and live with.
- 47:42Speaker 16: What we are.
- 47:43Speaker 6: We're a high bearance team, I meaning seven points is
- 47:47Speaker 6: not as much up seventeens not much, right, I mean
- 47:49Speaker 6: you can go either way. And we play in streaks,
- 47:54Speaker 6: so uh comes. I think what happened there at the
- 47:57Speaker 6: start that I didn't like. We weren't attacking their switches
- 47:59Speaker 6: great there at the start, you know, when they were
- 48:01Speaker 6: switching we just kind of were a little off for
- 48:04Speaker 6: a second. Then we kind of found our rhythm.
- 48:06Speaker 7: Was there a point in the game where you were like, Wow,
- 48:08Speaker 7: this is our night. I don't know, like I like.
- 48:14Speaker 6: There was there was very few times.
- 48:17Speaker 7: Do you have a half?
- 48:18Speaker 6: I think the first half of the game we held
- 48:19Speaker 6: them to I have it in there like point seven
- 48:21Speaker 6: two points of possession on defense, like we scored one
- 48:23Speaker 6: point three five. That doesn't happen to me League games, Like,
- 48:27Speaker 6: I mean when you come in there and you're like, well,
- 48:28Speaker 6: we got them. We're holding them in the first half
- 48:30Speaker 6: under thirty percent from the field, and we were scoring
- 48:34Speaker 6: in the first half at a very high rate. We
- 48:36Speaker 6: made fifty four percent of our threes, made twelve threes.
- 48:39Speaker 6: So I mean, when that happens, you look, you feel
- 48:43Speaker 6: like a great coach over there. Alrighty, I appreciate you
- 48:49Speaker 6: anyone more.
- 48:50Speaker 7: That's what Blucky balls folks to look like. Make every shot.
- 48:54Speaker 7: That's what I hope it looks like. Right, Appreciate y'all,
- 48:57Speaker 7: Thank y'all.
- 48:59Speaker 3: Okay, Bucky ball can definitely Uh it is hot right now.
- 49:04Speaker 3: And holy cow, Russy Berson comes in early today. Man,
- 49:09Speaker 3: I got all this sort.
- 49:10Speaker 4: He heard her talking basketball. He wanted to jump in
- 49:12Speaker 4: on the conversation.
- 49:13Speaker 3: I heard he's singing.
- 49:14Speaker 10: I was like, I gotta get there fast now he
- 49:16Speaker 10: needed to say it. I was like, he's singing, you.
- 49:22Speaker 3: Were singing Saturday. I'm sure the way that team was playing.
- 49:26Speaker 10: You know what, every once in a while we get
- 49:29Speaker 10: gifted floor seats, and I got I got gifted floor seats.
- 49:34Speaker 3: It was so much fun.
- 49:35Speaker 10: I think that first half was about as much fun
- 49:37Speaker 10: as I've had watching it in basketball.
- 49:40Speaker 3: In a long time. I mean, to be down fourteen
- 49:44Speaker 3: seven and go.
- 49:45Speaker 10: On that run, it's just like it was raining threes.
- 49:48Speaker 3: I mean, it's like, this is beautiful.
- 49:50Speaker 10: And I couldn't help but get on the Maryland message
- 49:53Speaker 10: boards after the game. I mean, they referred to him
- 49:58Speaker 10: as Buzzkill and this year is buzz dark year, and
- 50:03Speaker 10: it is just like one guy said, he speaks for
- 50:07Speaker 10: fifteen minutes, he says nothing like you got it, you
- 50:11Speaker 10: nailed him.
- 50:12Speaker 17: I don't know.
- 50:12Speaker 10: It's just everything about this year a lot of fun.
- 50:16Speaker 10: And I know it's not right of me to enjoy
- 50:20Speaker 10: the misery of the Maryland's sports.
- 50:21Speaker 3: It's sports. It's sports. I've enjoyed it because you set
- 50:26Speaker 3: through some of the bad times or and I need
- 50:29Speaker 3: to rephrase that they weren't they weren't bad times. They
- 50:31Speaker 3: should have been better times.
- 50:33Speaker 10: They just wanted me. I just wanted to pull my
- 50:35Speaker 10: eyes out after watching it, even wins last year, just like, God,
- 50:39Speaker 10: this is ugly basketball.
- 50:40Speaker 3: Well, when you listen to that postgame, you knew exactly
- 50:43Speaker 3: what he was talking about, You knew how what he said.
- 50:46Speaker 3: They hit threes, they did this. He's got a personality,
- 50:50Speaker 3: he can relate to people. Buzz is to me not
- 50:54Speaker 3: a problem. But he's so above a lot of people
- 50:56Speaker 3: when he's looking at his analytics whatever. I just the
- 51:00Speaker 3: score tells me everything I need to know.
- 51:02Speaker 10: You know, I watched Bucky walk around the court right
- 51:05Speaker 10: after the game, and he went over and he just
- 51:08Speaker 10: thanked the students like thank you, thank you for being.
- 51:10Speaker 3: Here, thank you for being here.
- 51:12Speaker 10: Everybody shook hands with like, man, I'm glad you're here.
- 51:15Speaker 3: I'm glad you're here.
- 51:16Speaker 10: I mean, just like little things like that.
- 51:20Speaker 3: Just I Alex Doyes the same thing.
- 51:25Speaker 10: I encourage A and M fans, yeah, to get out
- 51:28Speaker 10: there the next time they're here. We're watching something that's
- 51:31Speaker 10: really amazing. I mean, I didn't know if this team's
- 51:34Speaker 10: gonna win three conference games.
- 51:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean the lead to my column today was
- 51:39Speaker 4: all right, raise your hand if when A and M
- 51:42Speaker 4: announced the Mackenzie and Baca was gonna be out for
- 51:44Speaker 4: the season, yeah, you would have picked A M to
- 51:46Speaker 4: start six and one. And then I think the second
- 51:49Speaker 4: line is if you said, if you're still raising your hands,
- 51:52Speaker 4: you're either gonna fail a lie detector tests, you're the
- 51:55Speaker 4: world's greatest optimist. I mean, let's be honest. That was
- 51:58Speaker 4: such a at the time, and look, it could still
- 52:02Speaker 4: rear its head at some point this season. But the
- 52:05Speaker 4: way that A and M has responded to that kind
- 52:08Speaker 4: of adversity and just the way that they're playing, and
- 52:11Speaker 4: they haven't been perfect, and I get it, they've been
- 52:13Speaker 4: playing some of the teams at the bottom of the
- 52:14Speaker 4: league's standings. In this next five game stretch, we're gonna
- 52:18Speaker 4: really learn a lot about Okay, is this A really
- 52:21Speaker 4: is this a really true contending team, or where do
- 52:25Speaker 4: they fall online? We're gonna learn that these next three
- 52:27Speaker 4: weeks just by the slate that they've got.
- 52:30Speaker 10: Well, the thing is is, yeah, you're right, they've played
- 52:34Speaker 10: the bottom of the league, but the top of the
- 52:36Speaker 10: league's not that intimidating.
- 52:37Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, it's not as intimidating as
- 52:39Speaker 4: it has been.
- 52:40Speaker 3: No, not at all.
- 52:41Speaker 4: I mean you look at things and you're like, Okay,
- 52:44Speaker 4: Florida lost to Auburn, ain and beat Auburn. Vanderbilt hadn't
- 52:49Speaker 4: been playing as great as they were. Texas just beat
- 52:52Speaker 4: the snot out of Georgia.
- 52:53Speaker 10: And that before they played A and M, they had
- 52:56Speaker 10: won two really impressive games.
- 52:58Speaker 4: And yeah, and not to men, George's got to play
- 53:01Speaker 4: Tennessee on Tuesday in Tennessee. That Tennessee may not go
- 53:06Speaker 4: to the Final four. But that is a team that
- 53:09Speaker 4: if Rick Burnes is coaching a team, they're gonna be
- 53:12Speaker 4: a hard team.
- 53:13Speaker 10: And one of the things, you said six and one,
- 53:15Speaker 10: they're so close to being seven and zero, and I
- 53:17Speaker 10: know they could have been.
- 53:19Speaker 3: You know the Auburn shot if that had counted.
- 53:21Speaker 10: Now you're looking at five and two. Rights, But this
- 53:26Speaker 10: team has gone on the road and looked very impressive
- 53:29Speaker 10: against Auburn and even Tennessee. They didn't they shoot free throws.
- 53:33Speaker 10: That was the thing on Saturday up in the man
- 53:36Speaker 10: they're hitting free throws just left out of right.
- 53:40Speaker 6: Man.
- 53:41Speaker 10: If they'd have done that against Tennessee, they would.
- 53:42Speaker 3: Have right away with it games. Remember Hips said last
- 53:45Speaker 3: week they needed to shoot their free throws. Yep, Chips
- 53:48Speaker 3: got that power. He said that here because he said
- 53:51Speaker 3: they gotta do better. Absolutely, And then you said, whoever
- 53:54Speaker 3: missed that one was mad?
- 53:55Speaker 4: Because Griffin looked down. He goes, man, I was the
- 53:58Speaker 4: one guy who missed, like you know what, being on
- 54:02Speaker 4: the floor.
- 54:03Speaker 10: He had a beautiful pass to Zach in the first half,
- 54:08Speaker 10: and Zach waited way too long end up like he's
- 54:12Speaker 10: waiting for the defense to go back up. Well, the
- 54:15Speaker 10: defense didn't, and so it ended up throwing the ball away.
- 54:20Speaker 10: And Rylan, who he had played with Zach before, he
- 54:23Speaker 10: yells at him like Jack, go up, and Zach's like,
- 54:27Speaker 10: that's on me anyway. So after the game, I don't
- 54:31Speaker 10: know if you heard the radio version, but he was like,
- 54:36Speaker 10: dang Zach, seven of eight, Like he didn't even know
- 54:41Speaker 10: seven of eighth, three point right. He goes, I played
- 54:43Speaker 10: with that before, and I was like, he can do that.
- 54:46Speaker 10: I was like, man, he was unreal, wasn't he.
- 54:49Speaker 4: So what did Ryland say?
- 54:51Speaker 10: That true?
- 54:51Speaker 4: The technical foul, That's what I would like to know.
- 54:54Speaker 10: I didn't hear that.
- 54:55Speaker 4: It looked like he just screamed in the guy's ear.
- 54:59Speaker 4: He might just said something, but just finish. But I
- 55:04Speaker 4: was I was really wondering what he had said, because
- 55:07Speaker 4: I think that might have been one of the few
- 55:09Speaker 4: I can't remember another time this season that AM has
- 55:11Speaker 4: gotten a technical foul called on them.
- 55:13Speaker 10: Yeah, I don't think so. I mean, down fourteen to seven,
- 55:18Speaker 10: I was like, man, this is this could be bad.
- 55:20Speaker 10: This could be really bad.
- 55:22Speaker 4: Well, and the team has they've had a tendency to
- 55:25Speaker 4: go on these lulls, right Uh. They they're either really
- 55:28Speaker 4: hot or they when they're not hot, they're really not
- 55:31Speaker 4: and that that's something that they've kind of got to
- 55:33Speaker 4: clean up as the season goes on.
- 55:35Speaker 10: I thought South Carolina was on the verge of quitting
- 55:37Speaker 10: there in the second half.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Now they would a run.
- 55:40Speaker 4: Yeah, they did go on that run, And I was
- 55:42Speaker 4: looking up what was the most lopsided SEC history. But anyway,
- 55:46Speaker 4: we'll come back.
- 55:47Speaker 3: I guess tell you what, that's just gonna just what
- 55:50Speaker 3: everybody's appetite for more bucket ball after this.
