- 0:00Speaker 1: Chapter ninety, verses one through five. Third period, from Alexander
- 0:06Speaker 1: the Great to the Greco Syrian domination, chapter ninety. And
- 0:11Speaker 1: I saw till that in this manner thirty five shepherds
- 0:15Speaker 1: undertook the pasturing of the sheep, and they severally completed
- 0:19Speaker 1: their periods as did the first, and others received them
- 0:23Speaker 1: into their hands to pasture them for their period, each
- 0:26Speaker 1: shepherd in his own period. And after that I saw
- 0:30Speaker 1: in my vision all the birds of heaven coming, the eagles,
- 0:34Speaker 1: the vultures, the kites, the ravens. But the eagles led
- 0:38Speaker 1: all the birds, and they began to devour those sheep,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and to pick out their eyes, and to devour their flesh.
- 0:44Speaker 1: And the sheep cried out because their flesh was being
- 0:47Speaker 1: devoured by the birds. And as for me, I looked
- 0:50Speaker 1: and lamented in my sleep over that shepherd who pastured
- 0:53Speaker 1: the sheep. And I saw until those sheep were devoured
- 0:57Speaker 1: by the dogs and eagles and kites, and they left
- 1:00Speaker 1: neither flesh, nor skin, nor sinew remaining on them, till
- 1:03Speaker 1: only their bones stood there, and their bones too fell
- 1:07Speaker 1: to the earth, and the sheep became few. And I
- 1:11Speaker 1: saw until that twenty three had undertaken the pasturing and
- 1:14Speaker 1: completed in their several periods fifty eight times, chapter ninety,
- 1:20Speaker 1: verses six through twelve, fourth period, from the Grecosyrian domination
- 1:25Speaker 1: to the Maccabean revolt. But behold, lambs were borne by
- 1:29Speaker 1: those white sheep, and they began to open their eyes
- 1:32Speaker 1: and to see, and to cry to the sheep. Yea,
- 1:35Speaker 1: they cried to them, but they did not hearken to
- 1:37Speaker 1: what they said to them, but were exceedingly deaf, and
- 1:40Speaker 1: their eyes were very exceedingly blinded. And I saw in
- 1:44Speaker 1: the vision how the ravens flew upon those lambs and
- 1:47Speaker 1: took one of those lambs, and dashed the sheep in pieces,
- 1:50Speaker 1: and devoured them. And I saw till horns grew upon
- 1:54Speaker 1: those lambs, and the ravens cast down their horns, and
- 1:58Speaker 1: I saw till there sprouted a great horn of one
- 2:00Speaker 1: of those sheep, and their eyes were opened, and it
- 2:04Speaker 1: looked at them, and their eyes opened, and it cried
- 2:06Speaker 1: to the sheep, and the rams saw it, and all
- 2:09Speaker 1: ran to it. And notwithstanding all this, those eagles and
- 2:13Speaker 1: vultures and ravens and kites still kept tearing the sheep
- 2:16Speaker 1: and swooping down upon them and devouring them. Still, the
- 2:20Speaker 1: sheep remained silent, but the rams lamented and cried out,
- 2:25Speaker 1: and those ravens fought and battled with it, and sought
- 2:29Speaker 1: to lay low its horn, but they had no power
- 2:32Speaker 1: over it. Chapter ninety, verses thirteen through nineteen, the last
- 2:37Speaker 1: assault of the Gentiles on the Jews, where verses thirteen
- 2:41Speaker 1: through fifteen and sixteen through eighteen are doublets. And I
- 2:46Speaker 1: saw till the shepherds and eagles, and those vultures and
- 2:49Speaker 1: kites came, and they cried to the ravens that they
- 2:52Speaker 1: should break the horn of that ram, And they battled
- 2:55Speaker 1: and fought with it, and it battled with them and
- 2:58Speaker 1: cried that its help might come. And I saw till
- 3:01Speaker 1: a great sword was given to the sheep, and the
- 3:04Speaker 1: sheep proceeded against all the beasts of the field to
- 3:06Speaker 1: slay them, And all the beasts and the birds of
- 3:09Speaker 1: the heaven fled before their face. And I saw till
- 3:13Speaker 1: that man who wrote down the names of the shepherds
- 3:15Speaker 1: and carried up into the presence of the Lord of
- 3:17Speaker 1: the sheep, came and helped it and showed it everything
- 3:21Speaker 1: he had come down for the help of that ram,
- 3:24Speaker 1: And I saw till the Lord of the Sheep came
- 3:27Speaker 1: unto them in wrath, and all who saw him fled,
- 3:30Speaker 1: and they all fell into his shadow from before his face.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Chapter ninety, verses twenty through twenty seven, Judgment of the
- 3:38Speaker 1: Fallen Angels, the Shepherds and the Apostates. And I saw
- 3:43Speaker 1: till a throne was erected in the pleasant land, and
- 3:45Speaker 1: the Lord of the Sheep sat himself thereon, and the
- 3:48Speaker 1: other took the sealed books and opened those books before
- 3:52Speaker 1: the Lord of the Sheep. And the Lord called those
- 3:55Speaker 1: men the seven first white Ones, and commanded that they
- 3:58Speaker 1: should bring before him, beginning with the first star, which
- 4:01Speaker 1: led the way, all the stars, whose privy members were
- 4:05Speaker 1: like those of horses. And they brought them all before him.
- 4:09Speaker 1: And he said to that man who wrote before him,
- 4:12Speaker 1: being one of those seven White Ones, and said unto him,
- 4:15Speaker 1: take those seventy shepherds to whom I delivered the sheep,
- 4:18Speaker 1: and who, taking them on their own authorities, slew more
- 4:22Speaker 1: than I commanded them. And behold they were all bound,
- 4:25Speaker 1: I saw, and they all stood before him, And the
- 4:29Speaker 1: judgment was held first over the stars, and they were
- 4:32Speaker 1: judged and found guilty and went to the place of condemnation,
- 4:36Speaker 1: and they were cast into an abyss full of fire
- 4:39Speaker 1: and flaming, and full of pillars of fire. And those
- 4:43Speaker 1: seventy shepherds were judged and found guilty, and they were
- 4:46Speaker 1: cast into that fiery abyss. And I saw at that
- 4:50Speaker 1: time how alike abyss was opened in the midst of
- 4:54Speaker 1: the earth, full of fire. And they brought those blinded sheep,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and they were all judged and found guilty, and cast
- 5:00Speaker 1: into this fiery abyss, and they burned. Now this abyss
- 5:05Speaker 1: was to the right of that house, and I saw
- 5:08Speaker 1: those sheep burning, and their bones burning. Chapter ninety, verses
- 5:12Speaker 1: twenty eight through thirty eight The New Jerusalem, the conversion
- 5:16Speaker 1: of the surviving Gentiles, the resurrection of the Righteous the Messiah.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And I stood up to sea till they folded up
- 5:24Speaker 1: that old house and carried off all the pillars, and
- 5:27Speaker 1: all the beams and ornaments of the house were at
- 5:30Speaker 1: the same time folded up with it. And they carried
- 5:33Speaker 1: it off and laid it in a place in the
- 5:34Speaker 1: south of the land. And I saw till the Lord
- 5:38Speaker 1: of the sheep brought a new house greater and loftier
- 5:41Speaker 1: than that first, and set it up in the place
- 5:43Speaker 1: of the first, which had been folded up. All its
- 5:47Speaker 1: pillars were new, and its ornaments were new and larger
- 5:50Speaker 1: than those of the first, the old one which he
- 5:53Speaker 1: had taken away, and all the sheep were within it.
- 5:57Speaker 1: And I saw all the sheep which had been left,
- 6:00Speaker 1: and all the beasts on the earth, and all the
- 6:02Speaker 1: birds of the heaven falling down and doing homage to
- 6:05Speaker 1: those sheep, and making petition to and obeying them in everything.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And thereafter those three who were clothed in white and
- 6:13Speaker 1: had seized me by my hand, who had taken me
- 6:16Speaker 1: up before, and the hand of that ram also seizing
- 6:19Speaker 1: hold of me. They took me up and set me
- 6:22Speaker 1: down in the midst of those sheep before the judgment
- 6:25Speaker 1: took place. And those sheep were all white, and their
- 6:29Speaker 1: wool was abundant and clean, and all that had been
- 6:32Speaker 1: destroyed and dispersed, and all the beasts of the field
- 6:35Speaker 1: and all the birds of the heaven assembled in that house.
- 6:39Speaker 1: And the lord of the sheep rejoiced with great joy
- 6:42Speaker 1: because they were all good and had returned to his house.
- 6:46Speaker 1: And I saw till they laid down that sword which
- 6:48Speaker 1: had been given to the sheep, and they brought it
- 6:50Speaker 1: back into the house, and it was sealed before the
- 6:53Speaker 1: presence of the Lord. And all the sheep were invited
- 6:56Speaker 1: into that house, but it held them not. The eyes
- 7:00Speaker 1: of them all were opened, and they saw the good,
- 7:03Speaker 1: and there was not one among them that did not see.
- 7:06Speaker 1: And I saw that that house was large and broad
- 7:09Speaker 1: and very full. And I saw that a white bull
- 7:13Speaker 1: was born with large horns, and all the beasts of
- 7:16Speaker 1: the field, and all the birds of the air feared
- 7:18Speaker 1: him and made petition to him all the time. And
- 7:22Speaker 1: I saw till all their generations were transformed, and they
- 7:25Speaker 1: all became white bulls, and the first among them became
- 7:29Speaker 1: a lamb, and that lamb became a great animal and
- 7:32Speaker 1: had great black horns on its head, and the Lord
- 7:35Speaker 1: of the sheep rejoiced over it, and over all the
- 7:38Speaker 1: oxen and I slept in their midst and I awoke
- 7:41Speaker 1: and saw everything. This is the vision which I saw
- 7:45Speaker 1: while I slept, And I awoke and blessed the Lord
- 7:47Speaker 1: of Righteousness and gave him glory. Then I wept with
- 7:50Speaker 1: a great weeping, and my tears stayed not till I
- 7:53Speaker 1: could no longer endure it when I saw they flowed
- 7:57Speaker 1: on account of what I had seen. Forever every thing
- 8:00Speaker 1: shall come and be fulfilled, and all the deeds of
- 8:03Speaker 1: men in their order were shown to me. On that
- 8:07Speaker 1: night I remembered the first dream, and because of it
- 8:10Speaker 1: I wept and was troubled, because I had seen that
- 8:13Speaker 1: vision and of Chapter ninety
