- 3:06Speaker 1: We yes, of course it is technically around. It is
- 3:11Speaker 1: already October now that we're that we're recording this episode,

- 3:21Speaker 2: Actually, well, any of those episodes be up. Let's see
- 3:24Speaker 2: uh October part three, one two. If we can do
- 3:30Speaker 2: this in two parts. The thirty first might be because
- 3:32Speaker 2: thirty first is a Thursday, we're gonna do We're gonna
- 3:37Speaker 2: do a nooki spooky book on the third for the
- 3:39Speaker 2: Halloween of course, So regardless, if we have to skip
- 3:43Speaker 2: a week of Wheel of Time, if the book fourteen
- 3:46Speaker 2: happens to be three parts, we will do so, but take.
- 3:49Speaker 1: A little intermission for Alloween little Halloween special weekend, or
- 3:54Speaker 1: we could do both.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Who knows, multiple episodes, mm hmm, I mean I'm opposed
- 4:01Speaker 2: to it.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I think you know what you know. I like your
- 4:05Speaker 1: idea better because, yeah, give it a week and we'll
- 4:10Speaker 1: come back to Will of Time. Give you guys a
- 4:12Speaker 1: little bit.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Of r Yeah, if it ends up being three three parts.
- 4:16Speaker 2: If it does, yeah, thanking for two, but it might
- 4:19Speaker 2: be three. Who knows.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah, So without further ado, So this is going to
- 4:24Speaker 1: be multiple this this book is going to be multiple parts.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Hopefully we'll keep it down to two, but we may
- 4:30Speaker 1: end up splitting it into three like we did with
- 4:31Speaker 1: the last episode. This episode is going to be more
- 4:37Speaker 1: of a setting the stage because this is the final book.
- 4:39Speaker 1: This is this is book fourteen of the Wheel of Time,
- 4:43Speaker 1: A Memory of Light. This is the final battle. So
- 4:47Speaker 1: technically the final battle started in book thirteen. It was
- 4:50Speaker 1: just starting. Land has has led his forces, like a
- 4:56Speaker 1: small contingent, contingent of about seven thousand Malkiri men and
- 5:01Speaker 1: women and even soldiers from all over the borderlands. They've
- 5:06Speaker 1: all come together under the UH, the Golden banner of
- 5:09Speaker 1: the of the banner of the Golden Crane, which is
- 5:12Speaker 1: the which was the original banner of the fallen Kingdom
- 5:16Speaker 1: of Malkyr Mhm, which which Land is the rightful and
- 5:22Speaker 1: last king of Malkir. So he's led his people to
- 5:26Speaker 1: battle against against the Trollic forces at Tarmin's Gap. Uh.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Starting with this book, we got a few uh, we
- 5:36Speaker 1: got a lot of things going on. The first half
- 5:39Speaker 1: the book is mostly setting the stage for the battle,
- 5:41Speaker 1: and then when the actual battle starts, I mean, it's
- 5:43Speaker 1: it's I mean, it's not gonna be like half a
- 5:45Speaker 1: book of just dispositioning and like exp like disposition exposition
- 5:50Speaker 1: of like there's actual fighting going on. This book has
- 5:54Speaker 1: kept me on the edge of my seat, Like there
- 5:55Speaker 1: were moments where I had to take a break because
- 5:57Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, oh my god, oh
- 5:59Speaker 1: my god, like because I'll put it out there, guys
- 6:04Speaker 1: that there's going to be a good chunk of this book.
- 6:06Speaker 1: It's going to feel like our our heroes are losing.
- 6:09Speaker 1: And I'm not gonna lie there. I'm not gonna tell
- 6:13Speaker 1: you who yet. But some of our favorite characters, some
- 6:18Speaker 1: of the more recognizable characters, will not make it to
- 6:20Speaker 1: the end of this book. And and just give you
- 6:26Speaker 1: a little fish like hook and saint like, give you
- 6:28Speaker 1: guys a little hook and bait. This is one of
- 6:32Speaker 1: the characters that well that will not make it to
- 6:36Speaker 1: the end of the book. Is also one of the
- 6:37Speaker 1: main characters. And who I'm not gonna tell you who yet.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I told Devin and he was.
- 6:45Speaker 2: A ghost of us flabber ghosted mm hmm.
- 6:49Speaker 1: But I will say this, that character went out in style.
- 6:54Speaker 1: They didn't go down without a fight. They went down,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and they went down, and they took down as many
- 7:00Speaker 1: of the enemy bastards as they could. So to set
- 7:05Speaker 1: this so for this book, I'm knna for this episode,
- 7:07Speaker 1: I'm going to kind of follow, uh follow what they
- 7:10Speaker 1: did in the book, which was setting the stage, So
- 7:12Speaker 1: setting the stage for the battle. So the book starts out,
- 7:16Speaker 1: uh starts out actually in the Black Tower. Uh, the
- 7:20Speaker 1: Black Tower is currently under the control of Masrum Taim
- 7:28Speaker 1: what and it is revealed that Masrm Tayim is actually
- 7:32Speaker 1: truly a Dark Friend, and not only is he a
- 7:36Speaker 1: dark Friend, but he was recruited by the forsaken Demondred,
- 7:40Speaker 1: and he was sent with the task to get close
- 7:42Speaker 1: to Ran, to get as close to Iran as possible,
- 7:45Speaker 1: to try to thwart him, or to try to undermine
- 7:47Speaker 1: him in any way. But they could never could have imagined,
- 7:50Speaker 1: Demondred could never have imagined in that Tayim would have
- 7:54Speaker 1: been put in charge of training and recruiting male channelers
- 7:58Speaker 1: for the new Black Tower or the Shaman. So Taime's
- 8:02Speaker 1: mission changed from from just undermining Ran to taking men's
- 8:09Speaker 1: Rand's own men. He a shaman right from under him,
- 8:13Speaker 1: and Taim of course, had not only trained other Dark
- 8:18Speaker 1: friend other actual Dark Friends into using the power, but
- 8:24Speaker 1: using a process, using a process of linking with thirteen
- 8:32Speaker 1: mire drawl and channeling power directly into a male channeler
- 8:36Speaker 1: or even if to any channel or really it has
- 8:40Speaker 1: a form of this process has a form of morality
- 8:45Speaker 1: shifting type of effect, so it flips a switch in
- 8:50Speaker 1: the channeler, turning if their alignment is more with good
- 8:53Speaker 1: against the Dark One. Well, that switch is flipped and
- 8:56Speaker 1: suddenly they're all for like they embody everything that they
- 9:00Speaker 1: once opposed. So if they staunchly oppose the Dark One,
- 9:06Speaker 1: they are now the Dark One's strongest supporter. This process
- 9:10Speaker 1: turns them into what are known as dread lords. Last
- 9:13Speaker 1: time dread lords walk the earth was thousands of years ago,
- 9:16Speaker 1: not long after the breaking of the world during and
- 9:19Speaker 1: it was during the height of the Trollock Wars, when
- 9:22Speaker 1: male and female channelers were fighting against the White Tower
- 9:27Speaker 1: and the rest of the Westlands. And now dreadlords are
- 9:30Speaker 1: starting to are going to be making a rise again,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and it's up to as actually up to the weakest
- 9:38Speaker 1: of a shaman, a man named andrewl who's so weak
- 9:42Speaker 1: in the power he can barely he could barely create
- 9:44Speaker 1: enough power to shatter a rock. But he has a
- 9:49Speaker 1: special talent which allows him to easily open gateways, which
- 9:53Speaker 1: is a which typically for average channelers is a difficult
- 9:57Speaker 1: weave to use, but for him, as a talent, he's
- 9:59Speaker 1: able to do easily. And he ends up and Angel
- 10:02Speaker 1: ends up teaming up with Red, a sister of the
- 10:06Speaker 1: Red Aja woman named Pavara, to overthrow Tayim and push
- 10:12Speaker 1: him and his dreadlords out of the Black Tower. Now,
- 10:16Speaker 1: the Black Tower, for the most part, is going to
- 10:18Speaker 1: be out of commission for about half of the book.
- 10:23Speaker 1: So while there are some a shaman out in the field,
- 10:26Speaker 1: many of the most of these as shaman are actual
- 10:29Speaker 1: our non dark friends, are not dark friends. They are
- 10:32Speaker 1: people who are actually loyal to Rand and his cause.
- 10:36Speaker 1: There are a few of these a shaman out and about,
- 10:38Speaker 1: but the Shaman order in total is numbering nearly a
- 10:43Speaker 1: thousand members. There are almost as numerous as the Isadaie now.
- 10:47Speaker 1: So right now only a small fraction of them are
- 10:52Speaker 1: serving under ran and fighting, and for the duration of
- 10:56Speaker 1: this arc with a Black Tower, most of them are
- 10:59Speaker 1: in the Black Tower. Taim has been elevated to the
- 11:03Speaker 1: ranks of the Forsaken, so he's no longer just an
- 11:07Speaker 1: average run of the mill channeler. The Dark One has
- 11:10Speaker 1: given him access to his power. He has elevated him
- 11:12Speaker 1: to one of his chosen, and that also means that
- 11:15Speaker 1: Tayim is now, for all sense and purposes, immortal. Yeah,
- 11:22Speaker 1: because the Forsaken, they don't age, they don't die of
- 11:25Speaker 1: natural causes. The Dark One will keep them alive for life,
- 11:28Speaker 1: for as long as they as long as they can,
- 11:31Speaker 1: you know, keep themselves alive. If they die, the Dark
- 11:34Speaker 1: One will give them a bit of a respawn by
- 11:36Speaker 1: transmigrating their souls into a new body. But usually it's
- 11:41Speaker 1: a one and done deal. You fuck up, you die,
- 11:44Speaker 1: and you get resurrect and he resurrects you. That's it
- 11:47Speaker 1: your last chance. After that, he's going to take your
- 11:49Speaker 1: soul and you'll be his for eternity. With his elevation
- 11:57Speaker 1: to the ranks of the Forsaken, Tayim has now taken
- 12:02Speaker 1: on a new name, just like the other Forsakens have,
- 12:05Speaker 1: and now he calls himself Mahael, which in the Old
- 12:08Speaker 1: tongue means leader. Taim has been calling himself Mahael Uh
- 12:13Speaker 1: for quite some time now. Uh. He took that as
- 12:17Speaker 1: sort of like a self proclaimed honorary title because since
- 12:21Speaker 1: he is the Uh, since he is the head of
- 12:24Speaker 1: the Black Tower in rans uh Under. When in Rand's
- 12:28Speaker 1: absence absence, he decided to start calling himself the Mahaeal.
- 12:32Speaker 1: So usually most of these shaman call him Mahael during
- 12:38Speaker 1: their training or referred to him as Maheal, And of
- 12:40Speaker 1: course they referred to Run as the dragon reborn. Uh.
- 12:44Speaker 1: But little did we know that he has been that
- 12:46Speaker 1: Taim had been training dark friends and and converting non
- 12:51Speaker 1: dark friends into dread lords, so andrel and Pavara. Pavara
- 12:56Speaker 1: was trying to had come to the Black Tower to
- 12:58Speaker 1: try to choose at least one of the more skilled
- 13:01Speaker 1: or more powerful members of the a Shaman, but Tayim
- 13:04Speaker 1: refused to allow her or any of the other Isesidai
- 13:06Speaker 1: that came there for that purpose to bond with, to
- 13:09Speaker 1: bond any of the full the fully trained ashaman that
- 13:14Speaker 1: he has under his wing, so they couldn't. He wasn't
- 13:17Speaker 1: allowing them to take any of his inner circle, we
- 13:19Speaker 1: should say, as as they're warders, only allowing them to
- 13:23Speaker 1: take members of the dedicated who are somewhat midway through
- 13:28Speaker 1: their training. They're still powerful, but they're not fully trained.
- 13:33Speaker 1: And Pavara, realizing that Androl is a great a better asset,
- 13:39Speaker 1: she ends up bonding him, and he in turn bonds her,
- 13:42Speaker 1: creating a more unique two way warder bond with each other,
- 13:48Speaker 1: and and together they gather other members of the a
- 13:52Speaker 1: Shaman and they sneak into the Black Tower itself for
- 13:56Speaker 1: Time's headquarters and that and they learn a secret that
- 14:00Speaker 1: he and they learn his secret that he's been used,
- 14:02Speaker 1: that not only is he a dark that he is
- 14:05Speaker 1: a dark friend, but he has been using merdraw to
- 14:07Speaker 1: convert the Shaman into dread lords. And they also learned
- 14:12Speaker 1: that other members of the Black Aja are there as well,
- 14:15Speaker 1: and they are also assisting with transforming men into dread lords.
- 14:19Speaker 1: And they are also shocked to learn that Logan had
- 14:23Speaker 1: been captured by Tayim and that they've been attempting to
- 14:27Speaker 1: convert him into a dread lord. At first they were
- 14:30Speaker 1: using men, other male channelers to convert him into a
- 14:33Speaker 1: dread lord. But the thing is is that when it
- 14:36Speaker 1: comes to the power, the greater feats of power can
- 14:40Speaker 1: of the power can be attained if both halves of
- 14:42Speaker 1: the of the source work together. So if male and
- 14:45Speaker 1: female work together, they can achieve greater effects. And it's
- 14:49Speaker 1: the same when trying to use the power to affect
- 14:52Speaker 1: a state of change on another channeler if a woman
- 14:55Speaker 1: does so like these For an example, when when Ninive
- 15:00Speaker 1: covered the the weave to restore a person's power after
- 15:06Speaker 1: being stilled, she learned that she was able that she
- 15:09Speaker 1: while she was able to restore low Gain to his
- 15:12Speaker 1: full power. She wasn't able to restore uh Suan or
- 15:16Speaker 1: Leanne to their full power. They only got they lost
- 15:19Speaker 1: about a third of their power in the process. And
- 15:23Speaker 1: then later on when an a shaman by the name
- 15:25Speaker 1: of Damer Flynn discovered his own version of the of
- 15:30Speaker 1: the Weave to restore to restore a person's power, he
- 15:35Speaker 1: only had isid i to work with, three isid i
- 15:39Speaker 1: to work with, and each one he was able to
- 15:41Speaker 1: restore to their full power. So and then with this
- 15:47Speaker 1: they realized that they need the the darkest Shaman. The
- 15:51Speaker 1: dread Lords realized they needed the Black Ajia to perform
- 15:55Speaker 1: the conversion. They to perform the conversion on low Game
- 16:00Speaker 1: and they begin and the Black aja do arrive and
- 16:02Speaker 1: they begin to perform the ritual to convert him into
- 16:05Speaker 1: a dread Lord, but Androl and his friend managed to
- 16:09Speaker 1: intervene in time and stop them from happy and stop
- 16:12Speaker 1: them from converting Logan. Together with all their allies, they
- 16:15Speaker 1: managed to drive Logain I'm sorry not Logaan Tayim and
- 16:19Speaker 1: all of his allies out of the Black Tower, resecuring
- 16:22Speaker 1: it for the dragon reborn. Logane is immediately elevated to
- 16:28Speaker 1: the leader of the of the Ashaman. And by this point, guys,
- 16:33Speaker 1: this is already halfway through the book, they decide to
- 16:36Speaker 1: join the battle. Now, sorry, let me now, we started
- 16:48Speaker 1: learning more things about the forces of the remaining forsaken demon. Dread,
- 16:53Speaker 1: for the most part, has not been seen yet. From
- 16:58Speaker 1: what little we Knowedon has been sent to serve him,
- 17:02Speaker 1: So for the time being, Ogedian will not be seen. Grendel,
- 17:08Speaker 1: who unfortunately met a somewhat she somewhat fell into the
- 17:15Speaker 1: Dark One's bad side, on the Dark One's bad side,
- 17:19Speaker 1: so that as punishment for her failure to kill Paren
- 17:23Speaker 1: as well as for the destruction of the dream Spike
- 17:25Speaker 1: in book thirteen, Grendel was punished by having her soul
- 17:32Speaker 1: ripped out of her body and placed into a new body.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Her punishment was meant to be was meant to be
- 17:39Speaker 1: a sort of an insult to how she used to operate.
- 17:44Speaker 1: She used to use her physical appearance, like her seductive nature,
- 17:47Speaker 1: as her greatest weapon. All right, she was she was
- 17:51Speaker 1: very uh, let me, let me, let me tell you all.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Grendel was thick. She was thick, all right, dummy thick.
- 18:01Speaker 1: But then the Dark One ripped her soul out of
- 18:02Speaker 1: her body and placed it into the body of an
- 18:04Speaker 1: old hag. Damn ugly hag too. We're talking like like
- 18:10Speaker 1: if you when you think of like a like a
- 18:12Speaker 1: traditional witch in popular media, you know, warts and crooked nose,
- 18:18Speaker 1: bad teeth and everything all ugly. That's what happened, and
- 18:23Speaker 1: Grendel's name was stripped from her, and the Dark One
- 18:25Speaker 1: gave her a new name. The Dark One renamed Grendel
- 18:29Speaker 1: as Hesselam, which in the old tongue means without forgiveness. Damn, yeah,
- 18:37Speaker 1: each of their names. Yeah, if the Dark One gives
- 18:40Speaker 1: like renames you, it's usually the new name is usually
- 18:43Speaker 1: meant to be a jab as like this is like
- 18:45Speaker 1: you fucked up, this is your last chance, Like Sindane
- 18:48Speaker 1: means Sindane, which is Landfir's new name means last chance.
- 18:55Speaker 1: And then Hesslam means without forgiveness. I forgot what at
- 18:59Speaker 1: what Rangar and Austin gar Metz, but it's not important.
- 19:02Speaker 1: They're both dead. They're not They're not relevant to the
- 19:05Speaker 1: store anymore anyway. So Henzelon was also there at the
- 19:09Speaker 1: Black Tower assisting with the conversion processes, but she got
- 19:13Speaker 1: driven out by Androl and his allies, and Logan, after
- 19:17Speaker 1: taking some time to recover, decides to join the fight. Now,
- 19:21Speaker 1: let's go ahead and talk about the battle at hand.
- 19:25Speaker 1: They know for a fact that Camelin has fallen. The
- 19:31Speaker 1: Trollet forces have overrun Camlin by breaking through by traveling
- 19:37Speaker 1: directly into the center of it using the way gates.
- 19:40Speaker 1: So in the center of Camlin there is a waygate.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Elaine had set up a round the clock guard over
- 19:47Speaker 1: the way gate, but unfortunately the Trillic forces were able
- 19:51Speaker 1: to break through and overrun the city. Now Matt at
- 19:55Speaker 1: this time was still at the Tower of Genji, and
- 20:00Speaker 1: it was up to his second in command, Teal Maines,
- 20:02Speaker 1: to lead the band of the Red Hand in defending Camelin.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Him and other mercenary forces managed to help secure and
- 20:10Speaker 1: rescue refugees, lead refugees out of the city, but their
- 20:15Speaker 1: main goal was to resecure excuse me, what's her name,
- 20:20Speaker 1: eluders dragons. So they had managed to build at least
- 20:26Speaker 1: i want to say, about thirteen fully functioning dragons, and
- 20:32Speaker 1: all of them were being kept in a warehouse but
- 20:35Speaker 1: on the other side of the city. So Talmanes and
- 20:38Speaker 1: his forces had to fight through, secure a safe fight
- 20:43Speaker 1: through the city, secure a safe route for refugees, get
- 20:46Speaker 1: to exit the city, and then as well battle their
- 20:49Speaker 1: way to the dragons, which they do manage to secure. Unfortunately,
- 20:54Speaker 1: the trolocks surrounded them, forcing Talmanes to order them to
- 20:57Speaker 1: fire the dragons on Camelin's walls. Self, they were able
- 21:01Speaker 1: to break through the walls and they were able to
- 21:03Speaker 1: get the dragons out of the city. What remained of
- 21:07Speaker 1: the Kin. They were able to use gateways to get
- 21:13Speaker 1: the dragons safely out of the city as well as
- 21:15Speaker 1: any other refugees. The Kin were able to send word
- 21:18Speaker 1: to Elaine, who was currently at the back at the
- 21:20Speaker 1: field of Marylor with a vast majority of Andor's forces
- 21:25Speaker 1: as well. Now, at first Elaine was ready to leave
- 21:29Speaker 1: the field of Marylor to go and attack and go
- 21:31Speaker 1: and retake Camelin. But after but after hearing council from
- 21:38Speaker 1: the other monarchs, she agrees that Camelin is lost because
- 21:42Speaker 1: at this point if they try to recommit, If she
- 21:44Speaker 1: tries to recommit her forces to retaking Camelin, they would lose.
- 21:50Speaker 1: They would they would exhaust themselves. And since the Trillic
- 21:53Speaker 1: forces are using the way gates to get through. They
- 21:57Speaker 1: won't be able. There's nothing else they can The trouks
- 22:00Speaker 1: will just keep coming. But before Talmains and his forces
- 22:04Speaker 1: escaped the city, they did manage to destroy They did
- 22:07Speaker 1: manage to destroy the building that the waygate was hidden under,
- 22:14Speaker 1: so now the Trolluks can't get it. Now the Troaluks
- 22:17Speaker 1: are basically trapped in the city, but it seems from
- 22:20Speaker 1: what their scouts have told them so far, this trolluks
- 22:23Speaker 1: only purpose is to hold the city, so so Elaine
- 22:27Speaker 1: decides to stay in UH. Elaine decides to stay at
- 22:30Speaker 1: the field of Field of Marilore and Consolet with the
- 22:33Speaker 1: other UH with the other monarchs UH representatives from. Since
- 22:38Speaker 1: Elaine is now the queen of both Camlin and Kyrine,
- 22:44Speaker 1: she's she's the representative leader from them. From those two nations.
- 22:48Speaker 1: We had the king, we have the Queen of Galden
- 22:51Speaker 1: who's currently there as well under parents banner. We have
- 22:55Speaker 1: the King of Aarb Dollman. We have the King of
- 22:59Speaker 1: Ilien as well as the King of Tyr appearing as well.
- 23:03Speaker 1: And surprisingly, the King of Mirandi, which is a small
- 23:06Speaker 1: nation just south of and Or, has decided to show
- 23:10Speaker 1: up as well. At first, the only people that have
- 23:13Speaker 1: not shown the only nation that has not shown up
- 23:16Speaker 1: to be represented was Uh the Shan Shan, and that's
- 23:21Speaker 1: of course Ran has yet to bring them to the table.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Before Rand makes his proclamation, he does spend some time
- 23:29Speaker 1: with his allies, consulting, consulting with them. With the coming battle,
- 23:33Speaker 1: He and Avianda spend some time together, and Avienda confront
- 23:37Speaker 1: confronts Ran about the visions that she had while she
- 23:40Speaker 1: was in Ruidian. Avienda after seeing that after determining that
- 23:46Speaker 1: in the that Rand's Rand's price which is will be
- 23:51Speaker 1: which will be known as the dragons pre the Dragon's
- 23:54Speaker 1: piece will will exclude, inevitably exclude the I Eel from
- 23:59Speaker 1: whatever the Dragon's Piece details. So Ran is planning on
- 24:06Speaker 1: presenting a document to the to the other nations. This
- 24:11Speaker 1: is his price for the price for his life, basically
- 24:14Speaker 1: if he is to if he's to give his life
- 24:17Speaker 1: on the on the rocks of child goal to seal okay.
- 24:19Speaker 1: So Aviandah confronts Rand about the dragons the Dragon's Piece
- 24:26Speaker 1: because she knows that in the future his the Dragon's
- 24:30Speaker 1: piece will somehow exclude the I Eel from its proclamations.
- 24:36Speaker 1: So the Dragon's Piece, what it basically entails is that
- 24:39Speaker 1: it's going as as payment for the Rand giving his
- 24:44Speaker 1: life on the rocks of child goal to save the world.
- 24:48Speaker 1: He demands that the nations of the Westlands agree to
- 24:51Speaker 1: his to a to a written document which will set
- 24:57Speaker 1: form of union for all the nations. While the nations
- 25:01Speaker 1: will not be will still remain their autonomy and will
- 25:04Speaker 1: of course remain will remain there retain their sovereignty as well.
- 25:09Speaker 1: They can no longer change their borders. So what the
- 25:13Speaker 1: maps have their borders set as now? Those? The Dragon's
- 25:17Speaker 1: Piece will demand that those will set those borders as
- 25:22Speaker 1: the permanent boundaries, so they can no longer change their
- 25:27Speaker 1: borders by going to war with each other. The Dragon's
- 25:30Speaker 1: Peace demands that they will entail that no. Basically it
- 25:35Speaker 1: outlaws any kind of conflict between the nations, So and
- 25:40Speaker 1: Or and Kyrie, or rather not and Or and Kiring,
- 25:42Speaker 1: Kyrine and Tier. They can no longer go to war
- 25:44Speaker 1: with each other, and the same with Ilien and Tier
- 25:48Speaker 1: as well. Tier. It's pretty problematic in many cases, but
- 25:54Speaker 1: and Or cannot attack any of its cannot invade any
- 25:58Speaker 1: of its neighbors, and so on and so forth. It
- 26:01Speaker 1: also sets forth as a form of union, so if
- 26:06Speaker 1: two nations come into conflict with each other and decide
- 26:09Speaker 1: to go and decide to go to war with each other,
- 26:11Speaker 1: the other nations can intervene on their behalf and stop
- 26:15Speaker 1: the fighting and force them to come to terms. There
- 26:18Speaker 1: were many other stipulations, let me see here. So aside
- 26:25Speaker 1: from the Dragon's Piece, Reren is also going to require
- 26:28Speaker 1: them to other things. He will so he demands that
- 26:35Speaker 1: Igwayin give him the seals to the dark Ones prison,
- 26:41Speaker 1: and he also and for him, and he also demands
- 26:43Speaker 1: that for him to become the commander of the world's armies. Well,
- 26:50Speaker 1: while Avianda and the Ail don't really care much for
- 26:53Speaker 1: these other stipulations, they they are going to follow RN's
- 26:57Speaker 1: lead regardless. Avienda demands the Rand include the i Eel
- 27:02Speaker 1: as part of the as part of the Dragon's Piece,
- 27:06Speaker 1: because she knows for a fact that sometime in the
- 27:08Speaker 1: future this Dragon's Piece excludes the Aeel and the Iel
- 27:13Speaker 1: will left with nothing to do. They decide not to
- 27:18Speaker 1: They don't return to the Iel Waste. They stay in
- 27:21Speaker 1: the Westlands, and they end up going to war with
- 27:23Speaker 1: the sewn Sean and will eventually lose and their entire
- 27:27Speaker 1: civilization is eradicated. So, in order to prevent this, Avienda
- 27:33Speaker 1: and as well as the rest of the Ieel, demand
- 27:35Speaker 1: that Rand include them with the Dragon's piece. So Rand,
- 27:41Speaker 1: there's this whole. When Rend presents the Dragon's Piece as
- 27:46Speaker 1: well as his other demands, it causes a lot of
- 27:51Speaker 1: what's the word like, It causes a lot of h.
- 28:01Speaker 1: There's a word for it. Back Uh? Backlash, No, that's
- 28:07Speaker 1: not the right one. Retaliation no, uh, aside from okay,
- 28:13Speaker 1: So when Rad proposes the dragon the Dragon's Piece as
- 28:16Speaker 1: well as his two other as well as his two
- 28:19Speaker 1: other demands, uh. So far only the Boarder, the Borderlanders,
- 28:25Speaker 1: Barrelane of Mayen and Gallet agreed to sign the pack.
- 28:30Speaker 1: But the others, especially at GWayne, are furious that Wren
- 28:33Speaker 1: has declared. Uh. They are all furious, and they're arguing
- 28:38Speaker 1: back and forth. A GWayne is especially the like it
- 28:42Speaker 1: is especially the one arguing against Rand's demands. Uh. And
- 28:46Speaker 1: Rn is about to declare that all right, is about
- 28:49Speaker 1: to leave the meeting and decides and declares that all right,
- 28:51Speaker 1: this meeting is a waste of his time. Could have
- 28:54Speaker 1: fun and like walk away and walk away, But before
- 28:57Speaker 1: he can, that's when Morain enters the tent. So Moraine,
- 29:01Speaker 1: having been rescued from the Tower of Genji, she immediately
- 29:04Speaker 1: heads to the field of Marillore, where she greets rn
- 29:06Speaker 1: Anagwayne and after listening to Rand's demands, she does in
- 29:14Speaker 1: a sense agree with him, but she convinces him to
- 29:18Speaker 1: at least be more flexible with his demands. So rather
- 29:23Speaker 1: than just ratify the document of the Dragon's Piece, they
- 29:26Speaker 1: decide she convinced him to allow certain amendments and as
- 29:32Speaker 1: well as compromise in terms of his other demands, come
- 29:37Speaker 1: to a compromise in terms of his other demands, so,
- 29:40Speaker 1: for example, he agrees that the document will be void
- 29:45Speaker 1: if he cannot convince a sean Chan to sign it. Avien,
- 29:50Speaker 1: of course, demands for a place for the a Eel
- 29:52Speaker 1: and the Dragon's Piece, and Perrin suggests that the iel
- 29:57Speaker 1: be used as a form of executive and forcers, so
- 30:01Speaker 1: they the a Eel will be the one will be
- 30:04Speaker 1: the force. This will be the military force that is
- 30:08Speaker 1: used to enforce the uh to enforce the Dragon's peace,
- 30:11Speaker 1: so they'll have free reign to travel anywhere within uh
- 30:16Speaker 1: within the protected lands, and should any nations come to
- 30:19Speaker 1: conflict with each other, it will be the I Eel
- 30:21Speaker 1: that will be sent in to resolve matters peacefully. They
- 30:26Speaker 1: of course, by peacefully, I mean they'll make sure to
- 30:29Speaker 1: beat everyone's asked, to ensure that they don't continue period
- 30:34Speaker 1: to make to make folds of themselves.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Maurain also convinces Ran that somebody else should command the armies,
- 30:41Speaker 1: since he will be busy at child Gull and he
- 30:44Speaker 1: won't be able to effectively lead his forces. And after
- 30:47Speaker 1: some discussion, they all agree that Elaine will be made
- 30:50Speaker 1: the executive commander of all of the forces, including the
- 30:54Speaker 1: White Towers forces as well, So she'll be the one
- 30:57Speaker 1: organizing and giving and giving out the commands, telling, setting
- 31:02Speaker 1: up where the battlefields will be, distribution of forces and supplies,
- 31:12Speaker 1: and she agrees. Iguayne agrees that it is the responsibility
- 31:18Speaker 1: of the Ambulance Seat to protect the seals, so instead
- 31:22Speaker 1: of giving them to Rans, she will hold on to
- 31:24Speaker 1: them and when the time is right, she will be
- 31:26Speaker 1: the one to break the seals. After the meeting is done,
- 31:34Speaker 1: after everything is agreed, the battle is going to be
- 31:37Speaker 1: broken down. The forces are going to be divided into
- 31:44Speaker 1: into three warfronts. The three warfronts are decided by are
- 31:51Speaker 1: pretty much already been decided by the by the enemy forces.
- 31:56Speaker 1: So you have Trolks invading from Tarma from Tarmin's Gap,
- 32:04Speaker 1: and while Land is holding is holding their forces at bay,
- 32:08Speaker 1: he is currently fighting a a losing battle. What's that
- 32:16Speaker 1: kind of fight warfare where it's like, uh, I guess
- 32:21Speaker 1: it's like guerrilla tactics you fight in retree gorilla. He's
- 32:25Speaker 1: basically at this point fighting a form of guerrilla warfare.
- 32:28Speaker 1: He's leading his army, he's holding the line for as
- 32:30Speaker 1: long as he can, and then when it gets too rough,
- 32:34Speaker 1: his forces retreat a few hundred a few miles, gives
- 32:37Speaker 1: them a quick wristpite, and when the Trialks come in again,
- 32:40Speaker 1: they fight back and so on. So that is the
- 32:44Speaker 1: first battlefield that is immediately decided. The Borderlanders will be sent.
- 32:49Speaker 1: The Borderlander forces will be sent to assist Land and
- 32:54Speaker 1: reinforce his forces and keep the and hold the line there.
- 32:58Speaker 1: So wherever the Land had just stopped his retreat, that
- 33:02Speaker 1: is where the Borderlanders will try to at least hold
- 33:05Speaker 1: the Trollic forces for as long as possible in the
- 33:09Speaker 1: far Uh far to the far to the west, Candor
- 33:14Speaker 1: has been completely overrun by Trolks and they're slowly making
- 33:18Speaker 1: their well, not slowly, they're quickly making their way further south.
- 33:22Speaker 1: And if they get past a certain if they get
- 33:24Speaker 1: past the Candori border into southern into the southern lands,
- 33:28Speaker 1: including into Sealdeia and and Or as well as uh
- 33:32Speaker 1: our Domin, they'll quickly overrun the rest of the westlands.
- 33:36Speaker 1: So Aguaine and her for Agwaine and her forces, as
- 33:41Speaker 1: well as a contingent of let me see here, So
- 33:49Speaker 1: just to back up a bit, Lord Lord Agomyer Agomar,
- 33:53Speaker 1: who is who is the leader of the Borderland forces,
- 33:56Speaker 1: will lead for will lead his force, who will lead
- 33:59Speaker 1: the Borderlanders to Tarwan's Gap to back up Uh, to
- 34:02Speaker 1: back up Land, the Isidie as well as the White
- 34:06Speaker 1: Towers forces led by Gareth Brynn will lead, will lead
- 34:12Speaker 1: the forces to stop the trolix Uh currently invading Candor. Basically,
- 34:17Speaker 1: they're gonna, they're gonna, They're gonna set up right along
- 34:21Speaker 1: the Candor and borderline and they're just gonna hold them
- 34:25Speaker 1: there for as long as possible. Davren Bashir along with
- 34:30Speaker 1: along with the Lane and her forces of her combined
- 34:34Speaker 1: forces of Saldaeans and Dormant and Doorman and a few
- 34:39Speaker 1: and even a yel will lead their forces down south
- 34:43Speaker 1: to the battle at at Camlin. And then on the
- 34:47Speaker 1: fourth battle line. I said there's three, but there is
- 34:50Speaker 1: a fourth. The fourth battle line will be at schile
- 34:54Speaker 1: Goal itself. Now that battle line will that battle will
- 34:58Speaker 1: commence a little bit later than the rest of the
- 35:00Speaker 1: battles than the other three battles. First, once everyone's uh,
- 35:06Speaker 1: just to explain every everything a little bit more, Aglemar
- 35:10Speaker 1: and Land will hold the fort, will hold the line
- 35:13Speaker 1: at Tarmin's at Tarwin's Gap for as long as possible.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Gareth Brynn and the Isid Eye will hold the line
- 35:21Speaker 1: at Candor for as long as possible to keep any
- 35:23Speaker 1: Trolucks from getting further south. So that's the purpose of
- 35:26Speaker 1: those two lines. Elane's line is probably the most important
- 35:31Speaker 1: next to shile Goals. Purpose her and Davren Bashir. They
- 35:38Speaker 1: their goal is to eliminate the Trolluks that are currently
- 35:42Speaker 1: that have currently invaded Camelin. Now, the first thought would
- 35:47Speaker 1: be to seat lay siege to Camlin, but that would
- 35:50Speaker 1: only exhaust their forces a lot faster, So they decided
- 35:55Speaker 1: the best thing for them to do is to draw
- 35:59Speaker 1: the Trolucs out of Camelin and lead them on. Basically,
- 36:04Speaker 1: this is another form of gorilla of gorilla tactics. They're
- 36:07Speaker 1: gonna lead the Trolucks into more favorable battle grounds and
- 36:11Speaker 1: elimit the uh systematically eliminate them, and they succeed. They
- 36:16Speaker 1: fire UH fire, they rain down fire and brimstone into
- 36:20Speaker 1: the into the city itself, the dragons shoot UH. Elaine
- 36:24Speaker 1: fires her dragons from afar her the channelers that she
- 36:28Speaker 1: has at her disposal also rain fire down on the city.
- 36:31Speaker 1: This pisses off the the Trulucks enough that they come
- 36:35Speaker 1: pouring out of the city and begin chet and begin
- 36:38Speaker 1: UH chasing them all throughout and Or and eventually into
- 36:42Speaker 1: into Kyrine. So Elaine her forces will continuously retreat and
- 36:49Speaker 1: UH every time. Every time they come across more favorable battlegrounds,
- 36:54Speaker 1: they attack the Triluks and elimitate them as quickly as possible. Now,
- 37:01Speaker 1: if you look at the map of the Westlands from
- 37:04Speaker 1: she leads the she leads the Trollic forces slightly out
- 37:07Speaker 1: of Camland, somewhere south somewhere to the southeast before going
- 37:11Speaker 1: before curving around east towards Kyrine, so they eventually really
- 37:15Speaker 1: her forces eventually realized that there is another Trollic forces
- 37:19Speaker 1: that must have snuck around them through another waygate, and
- 37:24Speaker 1: the point of these of her line is to completely
- 37:28Speaker 1: eliminate any trolls south of the other within and Or,
- 37:34Speaker 1: so the Trillks that have already invaded through Camlin and
- 37:39Speaker 1: any other way gates, their goal was to eliminate them
- 37:42Speaker 1: before eventually moving back north to join the other two lines,
- 37:46Speaker 1: to reinforce the other two lines and make and make
- 37:49Speaker 1: a push for further into the blight. This doesn't really
- 37:54Speaker 1: work out the way that she'd hoped because her forces
- 38:00Speaker 1: are quickly becoming overrun. Her forces are quickly becoming overrun,
- 38:05Speaker 1: and they are being pushed back, and at one point
- 38:10Speaker 1: that Shir and her in Elane both simultaneously agree that
- 38:16Speaker 1: their best shot for completely eliminating the Trollus in Andor
- 38:22Speaker 1: and eventually Kyrine is to draw them to the walls
- 38:25Speaker 1: of Kyrine itself, so they completely disengage from the fight
- 38:30Speaker 1: and lead the Trolluks further west further east. I'm sorry
- 38:35Speaker 1: to Kyrine. This also unfortunately completely, almost completely and thoroughly
- 38:42Speaker 1: exhausts her people, her troops, but they do manage to
- 38:49Speaker 1: make it to They do manage to make their way
- 38:53Speaker 1: all the way to Camlin, where where they hold the
- 38:56Speaker 1: line and thousands, like tens of thousands of Trollucks assault
- 39:00Speaker 1: them at the walls of of Kyrine. Now, at first
- 39:04Speaker 1: the goal was to the lower one of the one
- 39:06Speaker 1: of the two UH separate armies of Trollus to Camlin,
- 39:12Speaker 1: eliminate them first, get a quick respite, and then attack
- 39:15Speaker 1: the other forces. Sadly, that is not what happens.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 39:20Speaker 1: They get to Kyrine, they fight the other force. They
- 39:24Speaker 1: do attack the other UH, the other army, and they succeed,
- 39:30Speaker 1: but their forces are almost are one. Her forces are
- 39:33Speaker 1: almost entirely are almost completely wiped out, and they're thoroughly exhausted.
- 39:38Speaker 1: She still has her dragon, her dragons which she's been
- 39:41Speaker 1: using to wipe out large scale like a large number
- 39:45Speaker 1: of them, but her but her channelers, her resources, they're
- 39:49Speaker 1: all beginning to fail and unfortunately she learns a Unfortunately,
- 39:56Speaker 1: she learns that she is being betrayed by her own
- 40:00Speaker 1: commander te She and her forces realize that they have
- 40:07Speaker 1: been subtly drawn into a pinch, like a form of
- 40:11Speaker 1: a pincer maneuver, like they were even though and like
- 40:16Speaker 1: so let me explain, m hm. Her greatest asset in
- 40:25Speaker 1: this fight has been one of the great captains of
- 40:27Speaker 1: the Westlands. Davren Bashier is one of the five great captains. Unfortunately,
- 40:34Speaker 1: Davren Bashier was was being compulsion, was put under compulsion
- 40:40Speaker 1: by Hesselam, so the compulsion was very subtle. He would
- 40:45Speaker 1: still sert he like, he's not going to outright betray Elaine,
- 40:50Speaker 1: but what he what he's been doing, has been subtly
- 40:53Speaker 1: maneuvering them into a position where the Trolot forces can
- 40:56Speaker 1: overwhelm them. The maneuver to get the to get Elaine's
- 40:59Speaker 1: force is to Kyrine to confront one of the smaller
- 41:04Speaker 1: of the two armies and then regroup before they confront
- 41:07Speaker 1: the larger army. That was a trap because the larger
- 41:10Speaker 1: army was much closer than they realized. Then Bashir he
- 41:15Speaker 1: got the report that the larger army was much closer,
- 41:18Speaker 1: but because of the compulsion, he ignored it and only
- 41:21Speaker 1: told a Lane that and told Alane that they're much
- 41:23Speaker 1: farther away, so when they defeated the smaller, more exhausted
- 41:27Speaker 1: force of Trolus, they were immediately met with the larger
- 41:31Speaker 1: and more refreshed force of Trolus. They quickly realized this,
- 41:38Speaker 1: and when she confronts Bashier, he realizes that he is
- 41:42Speaker 1: under compulsion, and he allows himself to be taken into custody. Unfortunately,
- 41:48Speaker 1: Bashier is not the only Great captain to be put
- 41:51Speaker 1: under compulsion. You see, the other battle lines are also
- 41:59Speaker 1: suffering began suffering their own losses, and they also begin
- 42:04Speaker 1: to get pushed back. You see. The thing is, uh,
- 42:12Speaker 1: the thing is is that going. Let's go back to
- 42:16Speaker 1: the Tarwin's Gap battle line. Agamar is assisting Land, but
- 42:22Speaker 1: now now the Borderland forces are being pushed further back
- 42:27Speaker 1: into the into the South, into the South Lions and
- 42:31Speaker 1: at first Land and his force, Land and his forces
- 42:35Speaker 1: they trust Agomar because Agamar is one of the great
- 42:38Speaker 1: captains as well, but they start noticing that his maneuvers
- 42:41Speaker 1: are becoming more risky. In some cases, they witness that
- 42:44Speaker 1: he's diverting their forces to attack like smaller his small
- 42:48Speaker 1: like smaller groups of their forces to attack larger groups
- 42:51Speaker 1: of trolks complete, causing an extreme loss of life. You know,
- 42:56Speaker 1: it's reckless. It's a maneuver that that a great captain
- 42:59Speaker 1: would not make. Eventually, Land and his other allies consider
- 43:05Speaker 1: the possibility that maybe Agamar is a dark friend. But
- 43:08Speaker 1: when they confront him and after reviewing the reports that
- 43:13Speaker 1: he'd been getting, they realized he wasn't intentionally betraying them,
- 43:17Speaker 1: and just like Bashir, Agamar was being compelled. Land has
- 43:26Speaker 1: no choice but to order the Borderlander's forces to abandon
- 43:30Speaker 1: the line and retreat back to the field of Mariylor.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Agamar is stripped of his tithe, of his position as
- 43:38Speaker 1: their commander, and which he willingly agrees to. After realizing
- 43:43Speaker 1: that he is being compelled, he decides that he's going
- 43:46Speaker 1: to completely step back from any command position he will,
- 43:49Speaker 1: and he also refuses to give out any kind of
- 43:52Speaker 1: advice or any kind of council when it comes to
- 43:56Speaker 1: battle strategy or commanding the forces, stating that he did
- 44:00Speaker 1: he's not sure how deep the stating that he's not
- 44:02Speaker 1: entirely sure how deep his compulsion goes. So they unfortunately
- 44:09Speaker 1: have to go back, have to retreat, going back over
- 44:15Speaker 1: to the third battle line. This line was the was
- 44:21Speaker 1: Gareth Brnn's forces being led by the isid I isid I,
- 44:28Speaker 1: so this one, for this one Gareth Brynn's Gareth Brynn
- 44:34Speaker 1: is also being compelled. The thing is is that gare
- 44:41Speaker 1: the isid I actually do an exceptional job of holding
- 44:45Speaker 1: the the Trolot forces at bay. Every iid I has
- 44:50Speaker 1: been outfitted with angrioll, every available onri all and saw
- 44:55Speaker 1: angri al that was hidden in the White Tower, and
- 44:58Speaker 1: in some cases they were also given to ron real
- 45:00Speaker 1: that have been deemed safe and of some form of
- 45:03Speaker 1: practical use. So while so for the most part the
- 45:07Speaker 1: Isidi being being supported by Gareth Brinn's forces.
- 45:13Speaker 2: They.
- 45:15Speaker 1: They basically just do most of the work Gareth Gareth
- 45:18Speaker 1: Brin's forces. They attack the trolls, They keep the trllocs
- 45:22Speaker 1: at bay and keep them from getting too close to
- 45:24Speaker 1: their Isidi, while the Isidi rain fire, brimstone, lightning. They
- 45:30Speaker 1: use their power and they are slaughtering trollocks by the
- 45:33Speaker 1: by the thousands, and they're doing such an effective job
- 45:37Speaker 1: that it's at one point a GWayne seems to think
- 45:41Speaker 1: that things are going a little too easily, but soon
- 45:45Speaker 1: she takes a quick. She begins taking a quick during
- 45:48Speaker 1: one of her respites in her camp. Betrayal is revealed,
- 45:55Speaker 1: though not but it's not immediately It is not immediately
- 46:03Speaker 1: apparent what the portrayal was m But the isid Ie
- 46:10Speaker 1: are ambushed by probably the most unexpected force you could
- 46:16Speaker 1: think of, ladies and gentlemen. If you look into the
- 46:22Speaker 1: if you pull up the world map of the Wheel
- 46:26Speaker 1: of Time, you'll see that there are two major land masses.
- 46:32Speaker 1: There's one the one land mass that we're currently there's
- 46:35Speaker 1: the one larger land mass that the Westlands is currently on,
- 46:40Speaker 1: and then you'll see another separate land mass that is
- 46:42Speaker 1: where the Shan Shan came from. But you see, the
- 46:46Speaker 1: thing about the Westlands is the Westlands. It's called the
- 46:49Speaker 1: Westlands because it takes up a small portion of the
- 46:54Speaker 1: western part of this continent of the larger continent. And
- 46:57Speaker 1: then in the dead center of that continent is the
- 47:00Speaker 1: Waste Desert. And then to the east of the Aeel
- 47:06Speaker 1: Waste there is another country called Shara. For the most part,
- 47:14Speaker 1: I'm sure Robert Jordan had bigger plans for the Sharans
- 47:18Speaker 1: in their story and probably was planning on introducing them
- 47:21Speaker 1: in some fashion, but unfortunately they never do. Unfortunately he
- 47:27Speaker 1: never got around to that, so Brandon Sanderson had to
- 47:31Speaker 1: use what he had available to him. Igwayne and the
- 47:37Speaker 1: and the other Isidai that are in the that are
- 47:40Speaker 1: in their command in their camp several miles away from
- 47:43Speaker 1: the battlefront, are shocked when a massive line of lights
- 47:51Speaker 1: splits the air just outside of their camp and it
- 47:55Speaker 1: expands into a massive gateway, and just on the other
- 48:01Speaker 1: side of that gateway they can see a foreign land
- 48:03Speaker 1: of plant life and a climate that's not really familiar
- 48:07Speaker 1: to the Westlanders. And just on the other side of
- 48:11Speaker 1: that gateway is a massive force of Sharons. Oh wow,
- 48:17Speaker 1: we're talking in a insane like the entire nation of
- 48:22Speaker 1: It's like the entire nation's army, because Shara is one
- 48:26Speaker 1: big name. Shara is about the same size as the Westlands,
- 48:31Speaker 1: but it's one nation. And the Sharans also have their
- 48:38Speaker 1: own group of channelers. They are called the Ayad, and
- 48:44Speaker 1: the Iyad are similar to the Isidie in terms of
- 48:48Speaker 1: knowledge and the power, but they're also similar to the
- 48:52Speaker 1: demane of the of the Shan Shan because one, they're
- 48:56Speaker 1: not afraid to use their power to fight and kill,
- 49:00Speaker 1: but also because they take on a more submissive and
- 49:05Speaker 1: servitude role in the Sharon Uh, in the shar and civilization.
- 49:12Speaker 1: When the when the gate when this massive gateway opens
- 49:16Speaker 1: just outside of the Uh, just outside of the Isidi's camp,
- 49:23Speaker 1: they really the isid I immediately sends hundreds of channelers
- 49:29Speaker 1: on the other side of the gateway, and those channelers
- 49:32Speaker 1: begin throwing began unleashing fire. The Isidai and their forces
- 49:38Speaker 1: are completely taken off guard. Many of them do escape,
- 49:42Speaker 1: but a lot of Isidi and and much of the
- 49:46Speaker 1: of the White Tower's forces are completely overrun by overrun
- 49:51Speaker 1: by the Sharn soldiers and the and the IAD. And
- 49:54Speaker 1: the IAD also employ male channelers as well, so the
- 50:00Speaker 1: i So when when referring to the ay Od Uh
- 50:03Speaker 1: for the future reference everyone, the iyod not only encompassed
- 50:07Speaker 1: just the women, but the men as well. So Agwayne
- 50:15Speaker 1: her order uh, Agwayne and her and her order. Uh.
- 50:24Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm like drawing a blank right now. People. Gwen,
- 50:28Speaker 1: that's his name. Gwen, Okay, I'm sorry anyway, So Elaine
- 50:35Speaker 1: and Gowen, I'm sorry, Agwaine and Gallen and Gowen managed
- 50:38Speaker 1: to take shelter and hide. Uh. Many of the other
- 50:42Speaker 1: Isaidae are either killed or taken captive. Any of like
- 50:46Speaker 1: the like any servants are immediately captured and made into
- 50:51Speaker 1: and made into wartime slaves. Uh. The Ayad have this
- 50:56Speaker 1: strange process of marking their new they're captured. They're captured
- 51:02Speaker 1: prisoners with strange weaves that leave like these kind of
- 51:06Speaker 1: like vein like tattoos on their skin, and the eye
- 51:09Speaker 1: of themselves have their own tattoos. They look like branches
- 51:13Speaker 1: or veins like. The women have more graceful patterns that
- 51:17Speaker 1: extend from their mid back up their neck into their face,
- 51:21Speaker 1: and the men have something similar, but it's more jagged
- 51:23Speaker 1: and more like rough. Yeah. And while the two of
- 51:29Speaker 1: them are hiding, Igwayne and Gowen notice the manage to
- 51:36Speaker 1: see the leader of the Sharan forces, a rather tall
- 51:40Speaker 1: man with the like very sharp and harsh face, dark hair.
- 51:44Speaker 1: He's wearing an suit of armor made of like it's
- 51:47Speaker 1: like coin it's like scale armor or like coin armor.
- 51:51Speaker 1: And the leader of the Sharans they learned that his
- 51:55Speaker 1: name is Bow the Wild and Uh Boo as he's
- 52:02Speaker 1: looking over the camp displays his own power. So Boo
- 52:08Speaker 1: is a channel. They realize that Boo is a channeler
- 52:11Speaker 1: and he he finds one of the Isidie that are
- 52:15Speaker 1: hiding in the camp and it turns out it's uh
- 52:17Speaker 1: Leanne herself. He doesn't kill her. He restrains her and
- 52:21Speaker 1: tells her to get to send word to the Dragon
- 52:25Speaker 1: that his greatest enemy has arrived and to fate and
- 52:27Speaker 1: challenges him to face him in battle and demon dread.
- 52:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry Boo. Whoops. Okay, Devin cut the part out.
- 52:36Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm sorry to lead. I'm trying to lead
- 52:37Speaker 1: up into it. Cut future Devin cut that part out.
- 52:39Speaker 1: I'm sorry. So Bao reveals his true name. So Bao
- 52:46Speaker 1: captures Leanne, tells her he's not going to kill her,
- 52:49Speaker 1: but wants her to take a message to the Dragon Reborn.
- 52:52Speaker 1: He tells her basically, his message is challenging the Dragon
- 52:57Speaker 1: to face him in one on one combat, face him
- 53:00Speaker 1: in the field of battle. That kind of ship, right,
- 53:04Speaker 1: He's displaying an extreme level of hatred for the Dragon,
- 53:07Speaker 1: and Bao tells her tells her to say to tell
- 53:11Speaker 1: him that Barret belmadar Well will finally defeat the Dragon,
- 53:18Speaker 1: and he releases her and she and she is allowed
- 53:22Speaker 1: to leave Igwayne and Gowen managed to escape the camp
- 53:27Speaker 1: under the under the nose of the Ayad Agwayne fear
- 53:31Speaker 1: not daring to channel until they are finally further out
- 53:34Speaker 1: of the camp, they do encounter Leowin, the former sean
- 53:40Speaker 1: Chan ship captain who's who's at one point traveling with
- 53:45Speaker 1: Matt and she's now with the White Tower and she's
- 53:48Speaker 1: dedicated herself to helping the White Tower, especially against the
- 53:50Speaker 1: Sean Schean. So she was in the camp and they met.
- 53:54Speaker 1: She also helps Agwayne and Gowan get out alongside her husband,
- 53:59Speaker 1: Barret Doman. The thing is Igwayne keeps thinking about the
- 54:05Speaker 1: interaction between Bao, that she keeps thinking about the scene
- 54:09Speaker 1: with Bao, especially when he said his real name, Barret
- 54:13Speaker 1: Belle Madar, and she realizes that the Sharans are being
- 54:18Speaker 1: led by the last male for the last of the
- 54:20Speaker 1: Forsaken that we have yet to see Demondred himself. So
- 54:26Speaker 1: a little bit of backstory about Demondred. Demondred was once
- 54:31Speaker 1: an ally of the original Dragon Lose there in Taliman,
- 54:37Speaker 1: and think about Demondred was that he is considered the
- 54:41Speaker 1: father of warfare because in the age of Legend, warfare
- 54:46Speaker 1: had become a lost art. It was a forgotten it
- 54:51Speaker 1: was it was considered a forgotten craft. There was no
- 54:55Speaker 1: wars going on in the age of Legends. They had
- 54:58Speaker 1: long since moved past that. They no longer make wars.
- 55:01Speaker 1: They don't manufacture weapons. Their conflicts were different. But in
- 55:06Speaker 1: terms of like warfare as we knew it, it was long.
- 55:10Speaker 1: It had long become extinct. But during the collapse, just
- 55:14Speaker 1: before the War of Power began, Demon Dread had rediscovered
- 55:19Speaker 1: the art of warfare. After studying old scripts and tomes
- 55:23Speaker 1: and history books, he rediscovered the art of warfare, battle strategies, distribution,
- 55:33Speaker 1: troop and supply distribution, tactics, different types of warfare. He
- 55:38Speaker 1: rediscovered it and his knowledge was influential and aiding the
- 55:44Speaker 1: Dragon the Dragon back then. But the thing is is
- 55:47Speaker 1: that Demon Dread and Lose Theren while they were part
- 55:53Speaker 1: of the same circles throughout their lives, Demon Dread was
- 55:56Speaker 1: often compared to Lose Theren because while Dread himself is
- 56:01Speaker 1: a very powerful channeler, he's considered he's still much weaker
- 56:06Speaker 1: than Rant, or rather the Dragon. So the Dragon was
- 56:11Speaker 1: at the very top of the power of the power
- 56:13Speaker 1: skill he was. He was a first class channeler, whereas
- 56:18Speaker 1: Demondred was just underneath that, he was a close second.
- 56:24Speaker 1: The problem with that is that Demondred consistently was consistently
- 56:30Speaker 1: compared to Uh to lose then all right. Oftentimes people
- 56:34Speaker 1: would make jabs at him about him being born too late,
- 56:37Speaker 1: because he was born literally the day after Lou's Tharn was.
- 56:42Speaker 1: And whereas Luz Thearren was like a genius, he was
- 56:46Speaker 1: a great philanthropist, and he was he became the leader
- 56:50Speaker 1: of the Hall of Servants, Demondred was often like just
- 56:53Speaker 1: a close second. He was often overlooked, and even though
- 56:56Speaker 1: he rediscovered the art of warfare, Louis Tharn came in
- 56:59Speaker 1: and was like, I can do it better, and he did.
- 57:03Speaker 2: So.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Eventually, years and years of just constantly being compared to
- 57:11Speaker 1: the Dragon, and his own achievements often overlooked, Demondred developed
- 57:18Speaker 1: an insane amount of hatred and jealousy for the Dragon. Eventually,
- 57:23Speaker 1: when the war of power was in full swing, he
- 57:27Speaker 1: eventually betrays the Dragon and joins the Dark One, becoming
- 57:31Speaker 1: going from barredel, leaving behind his old name and becoming
- 57:36Speaker 1: Demon dread m. Now you gotta imagine, see, the thing
- 57:40Speaker 1: is that when Luce Tharn was when he finally died,
- 57:44Speaker 1: he was already four hundred years old, so and Demondred
- 57:48Speaker 1: didn't become Demon Dread until the same age. So he's
- 57:53Speaker 1: over four He's over four hundred years old, and Demon
- 57:57Speaker 1: Dread has had to have to deal with sen tes. Basically,
- 58:00Speaker 1: he hit to deal with centuries of constantly being compared
- 58:03Speaker 1: and overlooked for the overlooked by the Dragon. So now
- 58:07Speaker 1: thinking about Demondred would make them so dangerous now is
- 58:10Speaker 1: that he's the leader. He became the leader of the Sharons.
- 58:15Speaker 1: What he had done in his free time basically since
- 58:18Speaker 1: since book one, what he's been doing is that he
- 58:21Speaker 1: has been He infiltrated the Sharan culture. He disguised himself
- 58:26Speaker 1: as a slave, led a rebellion, freed slaves, and eventually
- 58:31Speaker 1: he fulfilled prophecies. The Sharons had their own prophecies of
- 58:36Speaker 1: a figure they called the Wild. Now, if you were
- 58:41Speaker 1: to hear these prophecies, you would immediately assume that the
- 58:43Speaker 1: Wild was meant to be the Dragon Reborn, their version
- 58:45Speaker 1: of the Dragon Reborn. But Demondred took advantage of these
- 58:49Speaker 1: prophecies and began fulfilling them for himself. For his own purposes,
- 58:54Speaker 1: so he freed slaves. He became a great leader. And
- 58:57Speaker 1: one of the biggest things that he did was that
- 59:00Speaker 1: he rediscovered was he found one of the most powerful
- 59:05Speaker 1: sangreal from the Age of Legends. And this sangreal was
- 59:11Speaker 1: called uh Sakarnan, so Saicarnin was a was a golden
- 59:17Speaker 1: scepter with a chalice or cup like ornament on the top.
- 59:23Speaker 1: And it was believed that Sakarnan was as powerful, if
- 59:28Speaker 1: not more powerful than Colandor. So Colandor as a sangreal
- 59:33Speaker 1: was already very powerful, but it had its flaws and
- 59:37Speaker 1: it's dangerous to use. Skarnin is also very powerful, and
- 59:42Speaker 1: it also has its own flaws and it's ten But
- 59:45Speaker 1: the thing about it is is that it's not as
- 59:48Speaker 1: dangerous to use. So imagine Demon Dread entering the battlefield
- 59:55Speaker 1: carrying the most powerful sangreal. And since he he's also
- 59:59Speaker 1: been teaching the iad secrets of the of the Age
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: of Legends, they know he's been taking advantage of linking
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: with them. So what he's done is that he when
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: he enters the battlefield, he enters the battlefield linked using
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: a completely maximum sized link. So when channelers link. Only
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: female channelers can create links and on their own. If
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: they only link with other female channelers, the maximum amount
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: of people that they can put into that link is thirteen. Now,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: if you start including male channelers, that limit is removed
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: at least to a certain point. So at the absolute maximum,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: the absolute maximum size a circle can be is seventy two. Now,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: the seventy two has to be, can't it's not divided
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: evenly between men and women. There has to be more
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: women than there are men in the circle. So when
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: you have a full circle of seventy two channelers linked together,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: and then the person leading the circle, Demondred in this case,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: is also using a very powerful, soangryal. This dude is
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: literally walking into the battlefield and he is unstoppable. He
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: was like, it was like a total sorrow moment. Walks
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: into the battlefield and he's killing people left and right.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: He's laying waste to the landscape. He is a beast
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: in battle and he is almost completely unstoppable. Ewayne's forces
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: was forced to retreat back to the field of Marilor
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: as well go and over really quickly. We're going to
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: go back to Elaine's forces Elaine's forces. After arresting Bashir,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: they commit themselves to hold to holding themselves and holding
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: the line against the larger, more refreshed force of Trallus.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: They do get some reinforcements from Kyrine from the forces
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: protecting Kyrine, but it is not enough. There Elaine and
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: her forces are looking at the at the approaching Trollucs
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: with something akin to just despair. This is going to
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: be a final stand for them, that is until the
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: a Shaman show up. So by this point Andro and
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Pavara have already freed the the a Shaman from Tayim's
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: grasp time now going by the going by, Mahael has
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: fled the Black Tower with his force of dread Lords,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: and now the remaining forces there's several They are now
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: a good several hundred A Shaman ready to join the battle.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: They immediately they had immediately traveled to the field of Marillor,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: where they because the field of Marrilor is still being
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: used as the central command point. They travel there, they
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: get a they get an update from everybody see like
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: who needs them the most, and after realize after reading
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: reports that Elaine's forces are the ones in need the
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: most they travel to Kyrine. Logan leads his forces to
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Kyrine and it's there the shaman completely whoop ass. We
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: see this is this scene was awesome. The Shamans start
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: whooping ass. They're killing trolocks left and right. Elaine's forces
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: are able to get a nice respite and they're able
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: to fight back. They're able to fight back and defeat
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: this larger force andrel He's he's able to showcase his
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: abilities a lot more. He gets included in a larger
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: link of Elaine's kin. Some of the other Isidaie and
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: several other a shaman. And with this, with this much
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: larger link, he's able to create a massive gateway.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: This gateway opens directly into the caldera of the Dragon Mount,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: which is an active volcano. I should say, I should
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: add so when he opens this big ass gateway, matt
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: like a huge stream of lava comes pouring out and
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: lays waste to a large to like a huge chunk
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: of the Trollic forces, the trug. So Elaine's forces, with
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: the help of the Ashaman, they have succeeded. They've defeated
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: the Trollic forces south of the other two lines, and
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: now it's time for them to rejoin the others. Unfortunately,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: her forces have been almost completely depleted. She's at a
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: fraction of what she used to have. And their original
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: plan to push the Trollic forces in the north back
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: it's not going to work. But they come up with
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: a new plan. They're still going to hold the line,
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: but this time they're going to do it at the
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: field of Marilore. So just like a GWayne did with
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: her forces, and just like landed with his horses, Elaine
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: orders her forces to return to the field of Marylor.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: So all three battle lines have completely fallen, have completely
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: fallen apart the Trolic forces from tar from Tarwin's Gap
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: and the Candor and battle line have now have broken
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: the line. But they know where they're but they know
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: where their enemies are, and they're all going towards the
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: field of Marylor. Field of Marrillor is going to be
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: the last battle line. Now. I have somewhat neglected the
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: fourth battle line, the Hiogold battle line for the most part.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: So at first Ram does not head to chio Gold
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: just yet. He sends his forces there and he commands
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: and he leaves them in char in the charge of
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Rhodell Itterold, the fourth Great Captain. He tells him to
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: take the valley because schild Goal it's a big mountain
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: and it has a valley, and it's like the only
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: way to get to the mountain is through a valley.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: In this valley, there's trolls and there's other unseemly creatures
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: and dark friends as well. His forces, which are mostly
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: made up of a eel and other ragtag teams of
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: mercenaries and borderlanders and andorans and pretty much like a
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: like a amalgamation of all these different forces. Rant also
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: has a team of wind Finders with him. The wind
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Finders brought had brought the Bowl of the Winds, and
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: their job isn't to fight use the Bowl of Winds
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: to fight the trollis, but to keep the Dark ones
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: influence over the weather at bay. So while Iterall is
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: fighting on the ground, the wind Finders will be fighting
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: in the will be fighting the literal sky, because the
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: Dark One is going to be using his power to
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: try to overwhelm their forces. We using the weather, the clouds, lightning,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: He's going to try to He's going to try to
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: rain literal fire and brimstone down on them, so the
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: wind find. So the wind Finder's job is to use
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: the Bowl of the Winds to keep to keep the
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: dark ones hold at bay, to keep the weather calm,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: to keep it to keep all the fire and brimstone
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: from coming down. But before Rand makes his journey into Shaiogal,
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: he has a few loose ends that he has to
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: tie up, so he finally travels down south to the
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: capital of the shan Shan's controlled territory, where he confronts
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Uh for Tuona once again. Uh. At this point, Matt
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: had returned, had traveled south, he had spent some time
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: with Uh. With Tuon, he still refers to her as Tuon,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: even though she insists to be called by her new
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: her new name, Fortuona, Empress of the Shanton Emperor. Blah
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: blah fucking lah. Yeah, Like, I seriously don't like the
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: shan Chan, but Ran. The thing is that Ran recognizes
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: that the shan Shan are needed in the battle, especially
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: because they have the Aside from the Isid Eye, the
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: shan Chan have the largest force of channelers the demane,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: and the demane could be very influential in the coming battle.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: So the Demane, so Ran presents himself to Fortuona. Fortuona
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: does have him restrained by the dem by her demane,
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: and she threatens to enslave him much try to force
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: him to obey her, and the two of them get
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: into a bit of a like kind of a dick
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: measuring contest because she proclaims herself, I'm the I am
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: the descendant of I am the descendant of Arthur Hawk, Queen,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: who is the who was the original Emperor of the
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: west Lands. He had conquered all the west Lands, this land,
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: the lands, all these landes were his, and by right
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: these lands are mine. And Rand was like, oh, you
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: want to play this game, Okay, well, I am lose
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: there in Talaman, first of the Hall of Servants and
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: leader of the entire world. My right to these lands
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: far oversea yours and it' and they don't just stop there.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: My rights to right, my rights extend not only to
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: these lands, but to all lands. You got nothing on me.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: And this is like, it's just one of those moments
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: where like like he he does seriously humble her with that,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: because like she when you think about it, back in
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: the age of Legends, it was a one world government
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: and the one world government was being led by, of
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: course by a congress called the Hall of Servants. Yeah,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: and the Hall of Servants was led by the first
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: of the Hall of Service Servants, which was there in Taliman.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: So at one point LUs Tharn was the literal ruler
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: of the world. But you know, with that, with that
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: kind of like peaceful society, he didn't exactly rule it.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: He was just more of the executive leader. But Ran
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: dials it back a bit. He does tell her, he
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: does humble himself before her, and he's somewhat he does
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: fulfill the sean Chan's version of the prophecies, because the
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: seann Chan have a prophecy that the dragon be born
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: will kneel to the Empress of the shan Shan. But
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: like I've said before, the prophecy isn't going to be
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: fulfilled exactly the way they thought. They thought. The dragon
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: will be will be brought to kneel before her, meaning
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: he was forced to in the form of servitude. But no,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: he does. He does kneel before for Tuona, not but
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: not as like to serve her, but as a way
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: of placating her and begging for her help. He was
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: he just he kneels before her, and he tells her, please,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: we need we need everyone to fight the to fight
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: the Dark One, and we can't win without you and Fortuona.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: She's still like like of course, is like trying to
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: maintain control, wants to be in control of everything, and
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: she agrees to join his fight and Rand tells her,
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: all right, if you are to join us, though there
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: is stipulations, you must sign the Dragon Piece and agree
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: to UH and agree to not continue your expansion into
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: the other lands. He does try to convince her to
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: release the Demane that she had already captured when they
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: took peace, when they took over Taraban, ten Chi, Terrebon
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: Altara and Abu Dhar, but she staunchly refuses, saying stating
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: that the property that she has they will keep. And
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: I'm like, ah, fuck this bitch. But Randon has no
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: choice but to agree if he wants her, if he
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: wants her to join, he has no choice but to
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: allow her to keep the the demony she's captured in
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: the Westlands, but she does. He does force her to
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: agree not to expand into the other lens and not
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: to reach out, not to try to attack or antagonize
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: the Isidai ever again because he knows about their attack,
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: about their raid on the on the White Tower, and
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: she reluctantly agrees, but she does she does ask. She
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: does not so much ask but demand that the shan
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Chan be allowed to send emissaries into the other lens,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: not to like capture other channelers, but to kind of
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: like preach the basically as like evangelists. Like evangelists, she
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: wants to send missionaries into the other lands to preach
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: the dangers of channelers and that they must be that
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: they must be collared and chained. And Rant at first,
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: like Rant only agrees, but he has faith that no
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: one will agree to that. Like He's like, well, I
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: can't stop you from doing that, but I can't say
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: that you'd be successful in your endeavor. Jesus good luck though.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: Uh He leaves and Fortuona gathers her armies, and he
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: tells her to head to the field, head to the
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: field of mary Lore, where she will back up the
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: iid Ice forces. So the Sean Sean will be Uh
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: will be there at the field of mary Lore, and
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: they will be working more closely with the isid Eye,
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: which Agwayne is not entirely happy about. Uh. They this
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: is something that definitely rubs her the wrong way, but
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: she agreed. She agreed, eventually agrees that this is necessary.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: When everyone's at the field of mary Lore, they begin
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: they begin the process of planning and distributing assets and
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: basically so here's where everyone is going to be. The
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: field of Marrillore is split by three rivers. The three
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: the rivers intersect like in like kind of like.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: A t.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: Section. It's like one well, it's actually more of like
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: one river forks into like two. So the way that
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: they position their forces, like some of their like their
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: camps will be held on the southern half of the
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: on the southern side of the rivers, where they're more
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: protected from the trolic forces. The battles will be taking
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: place mostly around several ruins in the area, as well
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: as a large like it's not like a peninsula they
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: call it, they call them heights. It's like a land
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: formation where it's like there's a there's a section of
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: the land where it's like raised up, but it's like
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: flat on the top. So it's not like a it's
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: kind of like a hill, but it's like a flat
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: basin kind of deal. So for the most part, like so,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: at first Elaine will have her for end Oran forces
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: set up on the basin itself, like on that on
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: the heights itself. Her her dragons will be set up
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: there as well, so she can uh so they'll have
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: the height advantage and be able to fire effectively at
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: the at the Trollet forces, the isid Eye and the
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: Demane as well as the Shaun Shan and White Tower
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: forces will be fighting on the northwestern side of the
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: intersecting rivers, uh they will be. They will be engaging
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: the Trollet forces on more on the grounds, and then
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: the Borderlander forces will be on the north by northwest
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: eastern side of the rivers where more of the they're
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: kind of like more spread out, like there's a they're
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: more evenly distributed where their camps are being held as
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: well as where the fight will be mostly taking place.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: But the fight is mostly going to be taking place
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: on the northwestern side of the river where the base
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: where that hill is and where all the other ruins
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: are there is a point, so they do have some time.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: They had a lot of time to prepare because the
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: Trollic forces were days away, days of not weeks away
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: and while their force, while all their preparations are being done.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: There is a There is a minor interaction between Igwayne
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: and Fortuona. They speak just to make things clear. Like
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: prior agreement with Rand that you signed, you cannot you
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: cannot take any demand any prisoners. You cannot harass any
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: of us, is said I. And you cannot or any
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: other channelers that are allied with us, that includes wise
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: ones and wind Finders. Mescuse me, and Fortuana says that
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: she will honor her agreement because despite their barbaric ways,
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: that sean Chan are people of honor. They have their
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: own code of honor. So since the since the Empress
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: gave her words, she will uphold it. Uh. Though she
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: does make it clear that if they capture any that
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: if they do defeat any Enemily, any enemy channeler is
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: free game. So black Aja I od their free game.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: And while Aguaine doesn't necessarily doesn't necessarily agree to that,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: she there's nothing she can do. But the thing is
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: that two get into a bit of a back and
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: forth argument with each other, like with Fortune, with Fortswona
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: proclaiming that channelers all need to be need to be
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: collared and chained, and Agwaine is like, like a gosh,
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: She's like, how can you really believe that these women
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: behind me don't use their power for evil. We're using
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: our power to protect people, to fight for them. We
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: use it to heal, to nurture. We're not dangerous and
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: Forts one of those like, yeah, you can hide behind
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: those like plat anti platitudes, but you're still dangerous and
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: dessert and all. And like Fortsujuana goes on a bit
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: of a ranch. He's like, like, this dragon's piece will
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: not hold oh, and I can't wait to see I
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: won't I will rest until every uh, every marath domany
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: in that tower of yours is chained, is collared. And
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: then Agwayne is. Agwayne just looks her dead in the
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: eye and she's like, I plan on living for centuries
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: and I will enjoy watching your empire crumble. When you
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: think about it, the shan Shan are doomed too, Like
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: when I think about it, the shan Shan they are
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: a very dangerous and deadly empire, but they're very much
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: like the Mongolian Empire. They expand very quick, they're smart,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: they learn all right, but in the end, the mongol
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: the Mongolians, they eventually collapsed because the problem is is
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: that the Mongolians were also very self contentious, meaning there
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: was a lot of infighting all right. If the if
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: the khan, the absolute ruler, wasn't keeping a tight reign
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: on his on his generals or his governors, they were
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: often turning on each other, trying to undermine each other.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: And eventually, when the khan, the last Khan died, suddenly
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: there was no one there was no apparent heir for
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: the succession. So eventually the Mongolian Empire collapsed. And that's
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: exactly what happened to the shan Shan because when Samaraj
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: destroyed the killed the previous empress and all of her
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: attendants and any other relative she had, or any other
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: high blood back in the shan Shan, back in the
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: shan Shan homeland, their entire their entire nation fell to pieces,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: like descended into like one massive civil war where you
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: have others surviving high blood fighting for the crystal throne,
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: and you have other warlords proclaiming themselves as the new
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: emperor or empress and trying to make a bid for
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: the crystal throne. So unless Fortwo owner herself goes back
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: to the Shan Chun's consonant to resecure it. But they're
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: not ever the shaun Chan Empire is not ever going
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: to rebuild itself. We're gonna take a pause here from
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: the gathering forces at Marylord, and we're gonna take us
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: a little step back. We're gonna talk a little bit
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: about Rand. So during the fighting from all three battlefields,
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: Rand would repeatedly ape make appearances on the battlefield. He
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: would fight for a bit. He often disguised himself as
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: one of as a shaman, and he would fight for
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: a bit, kind of help take the take a load
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: off of the other of his forces. And every time
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: he appears, everybody would know that he was there because
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: his tever in nature causes the gloomy clouds overhead to
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: clear in a perfect circle for miles around him. So
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: every time that happens, people know that he's on the battlefield.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: And Rand did this purposely because he was trying to
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: He was trying to confuse the enemy, whatever remaining, whatever
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: remaining forsaken was still out there. He wanted to confuse them.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: He wanted to confuse the dark One to make it
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: seem like Rand was simply fighting alongside his forces, going
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: back and forth between the three battle lines. And then,
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: of course, he himself, until the very last minute, avoided
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: the battle at chile Gull, which rhodell Idorold had successfully
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: managed to take the valley. His forces managed to push
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: off the Trolks and dark friends that were there, and
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: he basically bottlenecked valley, so now the Trial courses can
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: only attack from the narrow valley entrance. Though itl himself
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: is he doesn't die per se, but he's eventually taken
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: out of commission because it is determined by one of
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: France's allies, mainly Parent, that all four of the of
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: the captains of the Great Captains have been compelled, and
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: Iterall was one of them. And at one point Iterult
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: himself realizes that he's fighting. He's not only fighting a
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: losing battle, but he's maneuvering them in the wrong direction,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: like he's setting the necessary traps to keep the trolks out,
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: he's keeping them from overwhelming the valley. But he feels
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: like he's being led into a trap, and he realizes
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: that he's been That's exactly what he's doing, and he
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: must not be in control of himself. The thing is,
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: he does get taken out of commission temporarily, and surprisingly Elias,
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: the other wolf brother, alongside a pack of wolves, capture
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: and take it or all away from the battle. This
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: temporarily confuses them, but they managed to get their bearings
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: again and other leaders take over. Now Parrin just give
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: you guys a bit of bring you up to speed
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: what he's been doing. Parrien and his wife Fayel have
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: taken on their own roles within the war. Fayel was
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: given charge of the Horn of Valier. They decided that
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: it's not safe. It won't be safe left in the
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: White tout being left in the White Tower like it's been,
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: so they decide to give it to fail and Fayel
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: is to basically take it carry it with her as
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: they travel throughout the Westlands, bringing supplies, bringing supplies to
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: many of their allies. And paren on the other hand,
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: he has decided to take on a mission of his own,
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: so his forces, of course will be uh will be
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: supporting the others. Mainly, his forces were supporting the Andoran
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: forces on the Camelin Battleground Camelin Kyrine Battleground. Also before
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: I forget the O Gear have also joined the battle.
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: So the O Gear did made up at Marilor I
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: almost forgot to mention them. They they also agreed to
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: be part of the battle, and they were actually assisting
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: Elaine on her battle front. And let me tell you something.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: The O Gear they're peaceful, but they're big. They're like,
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: on average, they're about nine feet tall. And they might
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: be peaceful, but they are strong. They are stupidly strong.
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: They're taller than that. They're taller than trollocks. And while
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: they only armed themselves with simple farmers tools like axes
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: and sickles and staffs, they were beasts on the battlefield
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: like they were slaughtering trollocks left and right. But going
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: back Parrin leaving forces in command of Elaine, he does.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: He decides that it is his that he needs to
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: stop the Slayer, which the Slayer, if you guys remember,
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: is the guy that is the dream Walker that Paren
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: has been fighting for the last couple of books. Now
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: he's decided he realized that Slayer may be used to
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: assassinate Ran in some way, and he decides that he's
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: going to have to fight Slayer, but not from the
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: dream world like he usually does. Usually, Paren will go
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: to sleep and enter the dream world in order to
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: fight him. But he realized that Slayer is there physically,
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: is in the dream the dream world physically, and Paren
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: doesn't have the ability to enter the dream world physically
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: like the Slayer does, but he knows of somebody who
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: can get him there, so he does approach Ran, and
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: he asked Ran to open a gateway into the into
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: the dream world and so he can track down and
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: defeat the Slayer, which he does. Paren basically, so Paren
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: spends the entirety of this book. I'll tell you guys
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: this right now. He spends the entirety of the book
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: fighting the Slayer. Now. The thing is the reason why
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: it seems like for him, it's he's going through a
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: similar thing like what Ran goes through. When Ran eventually
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: enters Schile Child Goal to come front the Dark One,
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: the Dark One's influence is causing time to warp, so
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: while time is moving so around him, time is moving slower.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: So inside Child Goal time is moving slower. Outside on
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: the battlefields, it's months are going by. So when he
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: enters the dream world, the Dark One's influence is much
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: stronger there as well, so Paren spends the entire time
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: fighting the fighting the slayer, he tracks him down. He
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: finds a slayer just outside the mouth of just inside
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: the mouth of Chile Goal. After finally tracking him down,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: Parrin also goes into the dream world with one ay
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: Eel his friend Gall. The two of them, mainly focusing
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: on using utilizing rants dream walking abilities, managed to chase
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: down the slayer and confront him in the mouth of
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: child Goal itself, the mountain itself, and they also encounter
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: several other assassins with the slayer. The slayer had brought
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: with him a pair of dark ay Eel. I've mentioned
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: them before in the last episode. The dark Aeel are
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: called the Nassayan. The nasay are basically all of the
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: male channelers that the Aeel sent into the blight. Every
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: single one of them was transformed into was transformed into
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: dreadlords and they now serve the Dark One. So in
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: the Childgal battlefield, the Ieel began encountering the Nissayan as well.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: So the Nassayan are different because, first of all, unlike
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: the Iel who put on their black veils when they
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: when they're about to kill, the nasayin pull off their red,
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: their scarlet red veils to reveal their file teeth, their
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: pointed file teeth, because they're about to make a kill,
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: so they do. They do everything as a way of
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: like as like it's a bastardized version of the Ael ways.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: But the Nassayan are all channelers, so the Iel have
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: to the normal Aeel and the wise ones have to
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: fight these dark channelers, these dreadlord versions of all the
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: of all the male channelers that they've sent into the
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: Blight because when they because that's what the Iel do.
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: If a man is discovered that he can channel, he's
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: sent into the Blight where he can find an honorable death.
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: And well, the thing is when they enter the Blight,
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: they're instead of being killed, their cap sure turned into
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: dreadlords and used to serve the dark one mm hmm.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: So they have to fight them. And and in the
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: and in the dream world, Parent is busy fighting Slayer.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: The two of them are jumping back and forth. In
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: the dream world, they can their very will affects the
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: landscape around them as well as like their position in it,
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: so they can literally just teleport like blip in a
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: period different spots. And that's how their fight goes it's
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: like it's like a game of tag goll fights. The
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: manages to fight and kill the Nassay that came with him,
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: and he's left at the mouth of Parent leaves him
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: at the entrance of Chile Goal to uh to guard
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: it from any further incursions, while while Parent himself fights
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: Slayer all across the Westlands. So basically the two of
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: them are blipping like it's like a speedster fight where
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: they're like zipping all across the Westlands. They're going from
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: Camlin to Tarbalan to child Goal again to here. They're
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: blipping in and out all over the place or fighting
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: each other, and this is what Paren pretty much spends
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: his time doing for the duration of the war, and
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: since they were so close to Schile Goal, months actually
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: went by and while mere moments went by for them. Eventually, though,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: Paren becomes severely injured and the Slayer almost kills him.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: And the thing is Paren had been contemplating what exactly
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: allows the Slayer to physically enter the dream world without
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: being a channeler, and he realizes that Slayer is also
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: like him, a dream walker, but he must have allowed
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: himself to become more of a part of the dream world.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: So he because he's always been warned that allowing himself
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: to delve too deeply into teleroand Riote will cause him
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: to lose pieces of himself to basically, I guess, become
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: more of a part of it and eventually fade away
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: or become something else much more danger So Paren accepts
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: that he needs to do the same thing in order
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: to beat the in order to beat the slayer, So
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: just before the slayer is able to deal the deal
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: a killing blow to parent, parent unlocks his own ability
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: to enter and exit the dream world physically and materializes
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: back into the field of Marilre, and he's immediately taken.
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: He's taken by gateway to uh the Keep at Mayen,
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: which is on the very southern part of the Westlands,
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: southwestern southeastern part of the Westlands, where the castle, the
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: capital of Mayen, has been turned into a field hospital.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: That's where all the injured are being taken to. Any
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: channeler who's who has talents and healing, they're there. So
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: it's like a conglomerate of wise ones wind finders, And
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: I said, I they're all working together to heal as
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: many people as possible, send as many soldiers back to
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: the battlefield or at least try to save the lives
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: of the ones that can't. And Parent is healed, but
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: he is knocked out of commission for a few days.
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: And he does learn, however, that his wife, Fayel, has
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: gone missing. Her caravan had disappeared, and what had happened
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: was her caravan encountered a bubble of evil and it
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: transported them into the middle of the blight. So Fayel
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: and her and her and her convoy have to try
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: to get out of the blight, and they realize that
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: they're not that far. They're actually not that far from
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: Chile Goal, so they realize they can try to get
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: out of Hio. They can try to get out of
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: the blight by going to Shile Goal, because once you
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: get closer to the Chile Goal, the blight and all
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: the dark creatures in the blight won't go anywhere near it,
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: so that's their own that's their safest bet, so they
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: start heading there. They a lot of them do get killed,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: and they do safely make it to Shy Goal, but
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: they actually encounter a village just outside of it, and
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: this village was a village used by dark friends and
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: the Nessayen and Trollish, and it's also become a supply depot,
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: so this is where all the Trolls supplies and the
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: Dark Friends supplies are coming from. Fayel and her team
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: disguised themselves as Shadow Friends and they go and they
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: move through the they move through the village and eventually
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: they they accidentally go through a gateway which takes them
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: to the behind enemy lines on the battlefield which Marillare
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: has currently become. So they make it back to the
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: field of Marylor, but they're behind enemy lines. That is
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: where I'm going to stop for their story. I'll continue
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: with Fayel's story later because since she she's also traveling
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: the young with that young boy. His name is God
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: He Why am I so bad with names? Oliver, that's
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: his name and it started with at all, So Oliver.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: She and Olver and her other and the rest of
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: her allies do make it through the gateway, but they
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: have to try to find a way to get out
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: of enemy lines. That's where their story is. Gonn I'm
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: gonna stop from their story. I'll continue with them next
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: in the next part, we are actually gonna go ahead
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: and start closing out because This is where the battle
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: gets even more intense, and I will end it off
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: with with Rand's part of the story. Ran, after fighting
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: several making appearances on all of the battlefields to confuse
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: the Dark One as much as possible. He finally after
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: he gets confirmation from iter All that the valley, the
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: valley outside of Chile Goal, has been taken, he arrives
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: at Child Goal and with the help of Avienda. Avienda
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: had given him a turang griole that she had discovered
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: this tarang rial using her gift to identify tarang rill,
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: as it turns out, hides you from the Dark One's site.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: So the Dark One is omniscient, so he knows everything,
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: and he knows where everything is, so he knows exactly
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: where Rand is at all times. So Rand started wearing
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: the started wearing the dagger to confuse him, and with
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: the dagger, the Dark One didn't see him, didn't realize
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: that Rand had appeared in Chile Goal until it was
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: too late. So Rand goes up to the mouth of
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: Chile Goal and it's there that he senses that the
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: Dark One has noticed him. The Dagger had done his work,
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: but right when they got right to where the Dark
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: One's influence is at its strongest. That's when it noticed
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: him and it was surprised, like, wait, how did he
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: get here? Yeah, the Dark One was really was surprised.
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: Rand decides to only take two people with him, Ninive
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: and Maring. Moraine at this point had already bonded Tom
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: Tom Marilyn as her warder, but she tells Tom to
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: stay on uh, stay outside of the of the mouth
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: of the stay outside of the mountain and guard the entrance.
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: So the three of them enter the mouth and not
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: far into uh, not that far inside the mouth of
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: Chiad Goal, they encounter Mordan. Mordan is Uh being the
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: the leader of the Forsaken. He is there, and they
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: also see the empty husk of what what what used
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: to be that strange souped up uh should our Hauran.
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: Its body looks like a husk, like something at like
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: something had come out of it, like a shedded, like
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: something shed its skin. And just beyond more than they
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: see this wall of just pure nothingness, just darkness. So
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: it turns out should should Our Haraan was basically like
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: it was like a dark Jesus. It was the dark One.
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: The Dark One had taken had managed to take on
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: a physical form, but it was just a small piece
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: of it. Evil Jesus Yeah, And when the power inside
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: the piece of the Dark One that was inside of Haran,
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: after it had after it had matured to a certain point,
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: it burst out of its physical body. And now a
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: piece of the Dark One is inside the pattern. And
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: the Dark One did this as a way of weakening
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: the power the Pattern further to allow him to break free.
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: So Ran immediately confronts rand Is using Mordan challenges Ran
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: to a sword fight. The two of them fight, with
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: Ran using his using Klandor as a sword, and Mordan,
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: of course, using his own weapon. The two battle for
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: some time and as they get As they're battling, Ran
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: manages to push Mordan closer to the wall of Darkness.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: And as they get closer, Ran missed accidentally comes in
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: contact with the darkness and is immediately assaulted by the
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: Dark One's mind. So both him and Morgan are locked
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: in battle. Their swords are locked against each other, but
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: inside Rand's mind, he's the Dark One is now fighting
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: for control. Now the two of them begin to fight
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: each other. Rand and the Dark One begin to have
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: a battle of Wills, and that is where we're going
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: to stop this episode. So, like I said before, Rand
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: had only just entered the uh had only just entered
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: child Goal. But there and while he's in there, for
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: him only, I'd say, about three hours goes by, but
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: outside three months go by. So he did his part
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: on the battlefield, and then he came here. He got
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: the Shawn Shawn involved, he got he all this, All
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: the pieces have been set on the on the board
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: and now this is where the final fight is going
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: to start. Done done, suspense music play here m hm.
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: So thank you guys for listening to the first half
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: the first part of this of book fourteen, Memory of Light.
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: So so far, no one has died, well, no one,
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: None of the major characters have died yet. Yeah, but
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: soon with this final battle, many of our many familiar
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: faces will lose their lives. And one of the main
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: characters is going to lose their life. I'm not going
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: to tell you who, all right, but I'll tell you this.
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: She goes out with a bang. Until then, Bye,
