- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:24Speaker 1: the hot girl energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:28Speaker 1: Happy Wednesday. This episode is definitely going to be up
- 0:31Speaker 1: later than I wanted, but that's okay. Things have kind
- 0:35Speaker 1: of been kind of chaotic this week, just because it
- 0:38Speaker 1: was Thanksgiving this past weekend and work has just kind
- 0:41Speaker 1: of been a lot just kind of catching up within
- 0:43Speaker 1: these next four days. I took the Monday off to
- 0:46Speaker 1: spend time with family and do some obviously family dinners
- 0:50Speaker 1: and all that, But I have not talked on the
- 0:53Speaker 1: MIC in two weeks. It's been a bit since i've
- 0:56Speaker 1: chatted on here last If you guys follow me on
- 0:59Speaker 1: social me or if you listened to the last episode,
- 1:02Speaker 1: then you guys know that I was actually in Dallas
- 1:05Speaker 1: last week for Zach's work, a very quick work trip.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I'm talking like from Wednesday to Friday. I was back
- 1:12Speaker 1: late Friday night so I could be home for Thanksgiving
- 1:15Speaker 1: with my family, and to be honest, it kind of
- 1:18Speaker 1: worked out that we didn't have an episode last week
- 1:21Speaker 1: because on top of being in Dallas last week, we
- 1:25Speaker 1: did unfortunately lose a family member on Zach's side of
- 1:30Speaker 1: the family. So it was a pretty interesting week last week.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It was very very tough, especially to be able to
- 1:38Speaker 1: like travel when you're in this really low place with
- 1:44Speaker 1: losing someone in your family. It was very difficult for Zach,
- 1:49Speaker 1: honestly specifically to go to Dallas and be present for
- 1:53Speaker 1: his job. So if you saw my story, that's kind
- 1:55Speaker 1: of what happened. Zach's grandmother unfortunately passed away very unexpected lee,
- 2:00Speaker 1: which was even harder. And I've known Zach for thirteen
- 2:05Speaker 1: years now, so I've known his grandma for thirteen years.
- 2:08Speaker 1: We would do, you know, monthly dinners with her, go
- 2:11Speaker 1: out to her home and cook dinner with her, and
- 2:16Speaker 1: it was always just something that we both really enjoyed
- 2:19Speaker 1: and Freddie loved her so much, and you know, whenever
- 2:23Speaker 1: I would travel, she actually would watch Freddy most of
- 2:25Speaker 1: the time. So yeah, we kind of just had a
- 2:28Speaker 1: special bond and it kind of hit me hard as well.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And again because it was very unexpected, we did have
- 2:37Speaker 1: to go to the hospital and say our goodbyes, and
- 2:39Speaker 1: what made it tougher was that she was awake and
- 2:42Speaker 1: she was aware of the situation that she was, you know,
- 2:45Speaker 1: slowly passing or I guess passed very fast in a sense,
- 2:51Speaker 1: so you know, she was able to say, like, you know,
- 2:53Speaker 1: she was able to hear what we had to say
- 2:54Speaker 1: for our final words, and you know, we were both
- 2:57Speaker 1: a wreck, obviously, Like losing someone is not easy, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: I have lost three other grandparents, so I have one
- 3:05Speaker 1: grandparent left, my Nona, And Zach has never lost to grandparents,
- 3:10Speaker 1: so this was his very first loss in his immediate family.
- 3:13Speaker 1: So he has been taking it pretty hard. So I'm
- 3:16Speaker 1: really just trying to be there for him and you know,
- 3:19Speaker 1: tell him that there's gonna be days that are good
- 3:21Speaker 1: and there's gonna be days that are not so great,
- 3:24Speaker 1: and it's okay to feel sad because you know that
- 3:27Speaker 1: you miss them. And I think the only thing that
- 3:29Speaker 1: you could really do is just think about the good
- 3:31Speaker 1: times that you did have and that she did live,
- 3:33Speaker 1: you know, up to eighty five, so she had amazing
- 3:36Speaker 1: eighty five years of great memories with you know, her life,
- 3:40Speaker 1: and then also just the past twenty nine years with Zach,
- 3:44Speaker 1: so Zach was very close with her, And yeah, it
- 3:47Speaker 1: was just kind of a really difficult week last week,
- 3:50Speaker 1: so I was really just trying to prioritize being with
- 3:52Speaker 1: his family, helping out where I can for the celebration
- 3:55Speaker 1: of life and all that. So yeah, it's been kind of, yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: a sad week last week, and then going into this week,
- 4:03Speaker 1: you know, we had Thanksgiving this past weekend, which was
- 4:06Speaker 1: hard losing a family member and not it feeling the
- 4:08Speaker 1: same obviously, and yeah, just I don't know, it's just
- 4:13Speaker 1: been kind of a weird few weeks, and I think
- 4:16Speaker 1: the time off from the podcast was probably needed in
- 4:19Speaker 1: that sense, but also like going into this week, it
- 4:23Speaker 1: just kind of feels like, obviously there wasn't much work
- 4:26Speaker 1: happening last week because I was traveling and because the
- 4:28Speaker 1: loss of a family member. So now I have so
- 4:30Speaker 1: much work that I'm trying to catch up on this week,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and I don't know, I'm just kind of feeling like
- 4:36Speaker 1: I've been in a funk. And I wanted to kind
- 4:39Speaker 1: of chat about that in today's episode of How I
- 4:42Speaker 1: Find Ways to get myself back in the productive mindset
- 4:46Speaker 1: kind of just get myself out of a rut, and
- 4:48Speaker 1: obviously with the seasons changing, I think a lot of
- 4:51Speaker 1: people can relate that, you know, it is getting darker
- 4:54Speaker 1: in the mornings, it is getting darker at night faster,
- 4:57Speaker 1: which makes it difficult to wake up, It makes it difficult,
- 5:00Speaker 1: you know, to drive home in the dark, maybe from work.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And then obviously the weather has been getting colder. So
- 5:07Speaker 1: I feel like it's just been, all in all, a
- 5:10Speaker 1: time of year that people typically feel this way where
- 5:13Speaker 1: they might feel a little unmotivated or just low, or
- 5:18Speaker 1: you know, just kind of feel lazy and don't know
- 5:20Speaker 1: how to get themselves back on their feet or just
- 5:23Speaker 1: back in the productive mindset that they want to be
- 5:26Speaker 1: in or the motivational person that they want to be.
- 5:29Speaker 1: So I figured this would be a really good time
- 5:31Speaker 1: to kind of just chat about things that I do
- 5:34Speaker 1: when I feel this way, And these are things that
- 5:36Speaker 1: I'm currently doing to kind of get myself out of
- 5:38Speaker 1: this funk or rut that I'm currently feeling and just
- 5:42Speaker 1: trying to find ways to, yeah, get myself back to
- 5:47Speaker 1: my motivational and productive self. Also another thing that I
- 5:50Speaker 1: feel like has kind of made an impact for my
- 5:52Speaker 1: routine and just my mental state as well, is that
- 5:55Speaker 1: I feel like I've just been like, so go go
- 5:58Speaker 1: in the sense where you know, I went to Italy,
- 6:01Speaker 1: I came home for two weeks, and then I was
- 6:03Speaker 1: gone to Toronto for a weekend, and then I came
- 6:05Speaker 1: home for a week, and then oh, I was off
- 6:07Speaker 1: to Dallas and then I'm home now. So I just
- 6:09Speaker 1: feel like, you know what, as much as I am
- 6:11Speaker 1: grateful for travel, I don't really love to travel back
- 6:14Speaker 1: to back. I'm more of a you know, every few
- 6:17Speaker 1: months kind of travel girl. Like I really like to
- 6:19Speaker 1: structure my routine, get back into it. I hate getting
- 6:21Speaker 1: back into the swing of things and then two weeks
- 6:23Speaker 1: later I'm off again. And that's just a preference. I
- 6:26Speaker 1: am a homebody. I am a routine person. I just
- 6:28Speaker 1: personally am structured that way, and that's just what makes
- 6:31Speaker 1: me feel my best self is when I'm in a
- 6:36Speaker 1: productive routine and when I have things all figured out.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I just I don't know, maybe it's a mental thing,
- 6:41Speaker 1: but I'm just a homebody and I'm a routine person
- 6:43Speaker 1: and that's just what works for me. So that could
- 6:45Speaker 1: be also why I feel like things have just been
- 6:48Speaker 1: so off is just kind of like the on and
- 6:49Speaker 1: off of feeling productive and then not and then you know, unpacking,
- 6:54Speaker 1: trying to reset, get the house in shape, all that.
- 6:56Speaker 1: There's just like so many things that you don't think
- 6:58Speaker 1: about that you need to just kind of like get
- 7:00Speaker 1: yourself back into it, if that makes sense. So, yeah,
- 7:04Speaker 1: so it's kind of multiple things. So we're going to
- 7:06Speaker 1: talk about some things that I personally do that I
- 7:09Speaker 1: feel like really helps, and it's actually been helping out
- 7:11Speaker 1: a lot these past few days. I have actually taken
- 7:13Speaker 1: a lot of these things into factor and wanted to
- 7:17Speaker 1: share with you guys if you're currently feeling this way
- 7:19Speaker 1: and also need to kind of get out of a
- 7:20Speaker 1: rut or a funk that you might be feeling. The
- 7:22Speaker 1: first thing that I always recommend when it comes to
- 7:25Speaker 1: feeling low or you know, just kind of like reasons
- 7:28Speaker 1: that you think might be causing this unproductive time that
- 7:32Speaker 1: you're having or just feeling super unmotivational is I personally
- 7:36Speaker 1: find journaling about how you're feeling in that moment is
- 7:39Speaker 1: really important to do, along with writing out things that
- 7:43Speaker 1: bring you joy. So this could be things that you
- 7:46Speaker 1: do day to day that kind of fills your cup.
- 7:49Speaker 1: We've talked about it in previous episodes that you know,
- 7:52Speaker 1: things that kind of make you feel good going into
- 7:55Speaker 1: your day. So three to five things that bring me
- 7:59Speaker 1: joy or some comfort in my day to day routine
- 8:02Speaker 1: are things like, you know, booking a workout class, you know,
- 8:06Speaker 1: going on a walk, making my favorite coffee, watching a
- 8:10Speaker 1: YouTube video, lighting a candle, maybe even turning on my fireplace.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Like those things to me brings so much joy in
- 8:17Speaker 1: my day. When I do those things, I feel very
- 8:19Speaker 1: happy and I find it just like I don't know,
- 8:22Speaker 1: makes me feel good starting off my day this way
- 8:25Speaker 1: because I feel like it puts me in that mindset
- 8:27Speaker 1: that I want to be in, which is obviously being
- 8:30Speaker 1: productive and getting shit done. And I find doing the
- 8:33Speaker 1: things that bring you comfort allows you to feel good
- 8:35Speaker 1: about yourself and you know, kind of makes you want
- 8:39Speaker 1: to get into that productive mindset, especially when it comes
- 8:42Speaker 1: to movement, which is kind of the next point, which
- 8:44Speaker 1: is finding ways to move your body, because I think
- 8:47Speaker 1: it plays such a huge role in your mental state.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I am an overthinker, Okay, I overthink about literally everything,
- 8:55Speaker 1: which I hate. I freaking hate it. I also am
- 8:58Speaker 1: a very stressful human being. I feel like I get
- 9:00Speaker 1: stressed all the time, and so I feel like whenever
- 9:04Speaker 1: I book a workout class and I actually go to it,
- 9:07Speaker 1: I feel like it literally clears my headspace so much
- 9:09Speaker 1: like I don't overthink, I don't think about anything. I
- 9:12Speaker 1: just think about that exact moment of getting my workout done.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I don't have those negative thoughts, it's all put aside.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I'm truly just focusing on moving my body. And it's
- 9:21Speaker 1: honestly the best way to kind of go into the
- 9:24Speaker 1: day as well, because I feel like it sets my
- 9:27Speaker 1: mindset and a better headspace throughout the day. And I
- 9:30Speaker 1: don't know, I just feel like it's the best way
- 9:32Speaker 1: to start the day off, is getting some movement in
- 9:35Speaker 1: and allow yourself to just kind of focus on that
- 9:37Speaker 1: one thing versus focusing on all the other things that
- 9:40Speaker 1: you might be focusing on when it comes to work,
- 9:43Speaker 1: personal life, whatever the case may be. I think just
- 9:46Speaker 1: getting that workout class in is so beneficial. And I
- 9:49Speaker 1: was actually talking to my neighbor about this. We went
- 9:52Speaker 1: on a walk together and she was talking about how,
- 9:55Speaker 1: you know, she's been postpartum now for I want to say,
- 9:58Speaker 1: like eighteen months. She's had two boys back to back
- 10:02Speaker 1: that are in close age and she has not gone
- 10:04Speaker 1: to a workout class for the past eighteen months, and
- 10:07Speaker 1: she's finally started to push herself to get into a routine.
- 10:11Speaker 1: You know, she's been going spinning like three to four
- 10:13Speaker 1: times a week. And she was telling me how she
- 10:15Speaker 1: feels so much better going to a workout class versus
- 10:19Speaker 1: going to the gym by herself and trying to get
- 10:21Speaker 1: a workout in herself. And this is something I totally
- 10:24Speaker 1: agreed with because I felt like during COVID, when I
- 10:28Speaker 1: was at home doing gym workouts and working out myself,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you know, just following people that I saw on you know,
- 10:34Speaker 1: Instagram or YouTube, I felt like my workouts were never
- 10:37Speaker 1: fully like productive or fully in it, if that makes sense.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I wasn't locked in because I felt like I would,
- 10:44Speaker 1: you know, do the twelve reps of a workout and
- 10:46Speaker 1: then I would either go on my phone or I
- 10:48Speaker 1: would just kind of like think about something that I
- 10:50Speaker 1: wouldn't want to think about, and then oh, I would
- 10:51Speaker 1: force myself out of that negative headspace and then keep
- 10:54Speaker 1: doing my reps all that so, I feel like booking
- 10:57Speaker 1: the workout class is what's changed my life, because I
- 11:00Speaker 1: feel like, you can't go on your phone for obvious reasons.
- 11:04Speaker 1: You are locked in for that forty five minutes and
- 11:06Speaker 1: truly have to focus on each movement. You know, you're
- 11:10Speaker 1: breathing everything. And that's why I feel like it helps
- 11:12Speaker 1: so much because you get to take away that distraction,
- 11:15Speaker 1: which could be your phone or whatever it is, and
- 11:18Speaker 1: it really just allows you to lock in and focus
- 11:20Speaker 1: on what is happening in that current moment. So she
- 11:23Speaker 1: was saying how beneficial the workout classes have been and
- 11:26Speaker 1: how enjoyable it's been because it allows her to kind of,
- 11:29Speaker 1: you know, really focus in those forty five minutes of
- 11:32Speaker 1: getting a good sweat in, and it allows her to
- 11:34Speaker 1: like go into her day feeling so much better knowing
- 11:37Speaker 1: that she'd like really focus on herself for those forty
- 11:39Speaker 1: five minutes. So I do find booking a workout class
- 11:42Speaker 1: does make a big difference comparing like just working at
- 11:45Speaker 1: yourself or doing a work at yourself. And again that
- 11:48Speaker 1: could just be us we feel the same way in
- 11:50Speaker 1: that sense. You may feel differently than that, But in
- 11:53Speaker 1: my opinion, I do find booking a worko class a
- 11:56Speaker 1: game changer and truly just like makes me so happy
- 12:00Speaker 1: be when I do a workout class before I start
- 12:02Speaker 1: my day. Another thing I love to do is I
- 12:05Speaker 1: love to create to do list or write out tasks
- 12:08Speaker 1: that I want to complete with the day, because I
- 12:11Speaker 1: think setting realistic goals for yourself for the day kind
- 12:16Speaker 1: of makes you feel like you've completed little wins. So
- 12:20Speaker 1: you know, it could be as simple as you know,
- 12:22Speaker 1: I want to make my bed, I want to clean
- 12:24Speaker 1: my kitchen, I want to organize my living room like
- 12:26Speaker 1: it could be the smallest things like that, and you
- 12:29Speaker 1: getting those little things done in a day and checking
- 12:32Speaker 1: it off kind of makes you feel like, Okay, I'm
- 12:35Speaker 1: getting back to where I want to be. Those little
- 12:37Speaker 1: things make me feel better. The fact I did it
- 12:39Speaker 1: today is a huge win. I'm proud of myself. You
- 12:42Speaker 1: feel accomplished. You go on to the next day, you
- 12:44Speaker 1: do the next task, you complete it again. You start
- 12:47Speaker 1: to feel that motivation and that boost of your mood
- 12:50Speaker 1: by completing these little things. So I feel like creating
- 12:53Speaker 1: to do list is a huge game changer, especially when
- 12:55Speaker 1: it comes to work. If you're feeling really overwhelmed with
- 12:58Speaker 1: work or really overwhelmed with school, and then that's kind
- 13:01Speaker 1: of what's putting you in a funk and you just
- 13:03Speaker 1: trying to like figure out ways to manage it again,
- 13:05Speaker 1: doing it to do list, writing everything out, figuring out, okay,
- 13:09Speaker 1: what's realistic for my structure for the week. And that's
- 13:11Speaker 1: why I always say to also do like a weekly
- 13:14Speaker 1: planner of how you want to structure your week, so
- 13:17Speaker 1: you know, on Monday, I have to do this, On Tuesday,
- 13:19Speaker 1: I have to do this, and it just kind of
- 13:20Speaker 1: makes things feel really organized, and then you don't feel
- 13:24Speaker 1: like you've bombarded so much in one day, and then
- 13:26Speaker 1: you feel overwhelmed, and then again you get yourself in
- 13:28Speaker 1: this negative headspace where you feel like everything is too much.
- 13:31Speaker 1: So because I have a short week this week, I
- 13:33Speaker 1: didn't do my weekly to do list to be fully transparent,
- 13:36Speaker 1: like I didn't do my task for Tuesday, my task
- 13:39Speaker 1: for Wednesday, my task for Thursday, like I didn't do
- 13:42Speaker 1: that when I typically usually do that every Sunday night.
- 13:44Speaker 1: So maybe that's why this week specifically for me, has
- 13:47Speaker 1: felt a little off, and last week felt a little
- 13:50Speaker 1: off because I was traveling, like so that right now,
- 13:53Speaker 1: just saying it out loud makes me realize that, Okay,
- 13:55Speaker 1: maybe I need to write it to do list out
- 13:57Speaker 1: for Thursday and Friday. That way, I'm going into those
- 14:00Speaker 1: days knowing fully what I have to get done and
- 14:03Speaker 1: achieving those things that I wanted to set my goals
- 14:07Speaker 1: for will make me feel good knowing that I did
- 14:09Speaker 1: those small wins, and it makes me feel like I've
- 14:11Speaker 1: completed things throughout my day that I needed to get done.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I also find setting a timer makes a huge difference
- 14:17Speaker 1: when you want to be more productive. This is something
- 14:20Speaker 1: that I've talked about in a previous episode that I
- 14:23Speaker 1: saw another influencer do, and she sets a timer for
- 14:27Speaker 1: sixty minutes each day to get whatever she needs to
- 14:29Speaker 1: get done around her house. So I've been doing that.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I've been setting usually a thirty minute timer just because
- 14:33Speaker 1: it's a bit easier for me to include it into
- 14:35Speaker 1: my lunch break, and I'll fully just lock in and
- 14:39Speaker 1: get everything that I want to get done, clean up
- 14:40Speaker 1: the kitchen. You know, if I have boxes that I've
- 14:43Speaker 1: unboxed pr from and there's just like boxes all over
- 14:45Speaker 1: my living room, I break them down, I put them
- 14:47Speaker 1: in my garage. Like sometimes you know, we put things
- 14:49Speaker 1: to the side and we don't think about it, and
- 14:51Speaker 1: so having a timer on I feel like motivates me
- 14:53Speaker 1: because I'm like, Okay, I need to finish all this
- 14:55Speaker 1: before the timer goes out. I also find playing music
- 14:58Speaker 1: is a good distraction and putting your phone on do
- 15:00Speaker 1: not disturb. Again, if you're very distracted, like myself who
- 15:05Speaker 1: is distracted by their phone, put your phone on do
- 15:08Speaker 1: not disturb and set a thirty minute timer and you
- 15:10Speaker 1: will be amazed at how much shit you can actually
- 15:12Speaker 1: get done in thirty minutes. And again, it just kind
- 15:15Speaker 1: of makes you feel like you've completed a lot of
- 15:17Speaker 1: things throughout your day. It allows you to lock in
- 15:20Speaker 1: and focus on everything that you have to get done
- 15:21Speaker 1: and you don't have any distractions. So those are like
- 15:25Speaker 1: big things for me that I feel like helps me
- 15:27Speaker 1: out when I am in a rut. Is just like
- 15:29Speaker 1: locking in, taking thirty minutes to myself to get shit
- 15:32Speaker 1: done around the house, and then I just feel like
- 15:34Speaker 1: a clean space really just makes me feel ten times better.
- 15:37Speaker 1: And I'm sure a lot of people can relate to
- 15:38Speaker 1: that as well. So doing that writing out tasks, completing
- 15:42Speaker 1: it just kind of checking off the list of you know,
- 15:44Speaker 1: your little to do list of what you want to
- 15:46Speaker 1: get done for the day, will just really motivate yourself
- 15:48Speaker 1: and put yourself in the right head space throughout the
- 15:51Speaker 1: rest of the week. Another thing that I find helps
- 15:53Speaker 1: me kind of get out of a rut or a
- 15:55Speaker 1: funk is resetting myself. And so what I mean by
- 15:59Speaker 1: that is it's almost like a mini checklist of things
- 16:01Speaker 1: that you want to do for yourself. So it could
- 16:03Speaker 1: be are you drinking enough water throughout the day? Are
- 16:06Speaker 1: you getting enough sleep? Think about it. Are you getting
- 16:08Speaker 1: that seven to eight hours of sleep that you want
- 16:10Speaker 1: to get? Are you moving your body? Did you book
- 16:13Speaker 1: any workout classes for this week? Are you eating healthy recipes?
- 16:16Speaker 1: Are you getting takeout every single night? Or are you
- 16:19Speaker 1: actually making home cooked meals? Should you consider going to
- 16:22Speaker 1: the grocery store and maybe picking up food so you
- 16:24Speaker 1: can eat healthy throughout the week. There's so many things
- 16:27Speaker 1: to think about when it comes to those little things,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and it does make a huge difference when you are
- 16:32Speaker 1: actually doing those things. Like if you're actually geting enough sleep,
- 16:35Speaker 1: you are going to have a good week. If you
- 16:36Speaker 1: are actually drinking enough water, you're going to feel good,
- 16:39Speaker 1: You're not going to have a headache, You're not going
- 16:41Speaker 1: to feel like you're overthinking too much. If you're eating
- 16:44Speaker 1: home cooked meals and healthy meals. Again, your body likes that.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Your body feels good, your energy feels good when you're
- 16:50Speaker 1: actually eating healthy and when you're moving your body finding
- 16:52Speaker 1: ways like going to workout classes or walking or whatever
- 16:55Speaker 1: the case may be. When you actually prioritize that, again,
- 16:58Speaker 1: your body is telling you that good job. You're doing
- 17:01Speaker 1: what you're supposed to be doing, and it's going to
- 17:03Speaker 1: make you feel better. So those little things is almost
- 17:06Speaker 1: like a mental checklist of things that make you feel good,
- 17:10Speaker 1: typically that you might not actually be making a priority.
- 17:13Speaker 1: So it's almost like a little reminder of just saying, hey,
- 17:16Speaker 1: if you aren't doing these things, you might want to
- 17:18Speaker 1: give yourself a bit of a reality check and start
- 17:21Speaker 1: doing those things because it's gonna make you feel better.
- 17:23Speaker 1: You're gonna feel good, You're gonna have the energy that
- 17:27Speaker 1: you have been missing. It's truly all about the energy
- 17:29Speaker 1: because sleep, movement, and food play a huge impact of
- 17:33Speaker 1: your energy levels along with how your mood is. So
- 17:37Speaker 1: if you're doing those things, then you know you're gonna
- 17:40Speaker 1: be in a better mindset. If you actually are drinking
- 17:42Speaker 1: enough water, eating enough healthy foods, along with getting enough sleep,
- 17:45Speaker 1: So not only are you going to like reset yourself
- 17:47Speaker 1: by doing those things, but you're also going to book
- 17:50Speaker 1: yourself a feel good appointment. I don't know why this
- 17:54Speaker 1: makes a huge impact, but it does for me personally.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I find when I just like need a boost of
- 18:01Speaker 1: my mood and just like feeling good about myself or
- 18:03Speaker 1: just like a boost of confidence. I feel like when
- 18:05Speaker 1: I book a nail appointment, or when I book a
- 18:08Speaker 1: hair appointment or getting a facial, like it's just something
- 18:11Speaker 1: that makes me feel good and makes me feel better
- 18:14Speaker 1: when I've put the effort in myself, if that makes sense,
- 18:17Speaker 1: and it doesn't have to be, you know, something like that.
- 18:20Speaker 1: It could also just be like doing in everything, shower
- 18:22Speaker 1: at home, doing a face mask, Like just knowing that
- 18:24Speaker 1: you've put an effort in yourself makes you feel good.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Maybe it's literally shaving your legs, like could be the
- 18:31Speaker 1: smallest thing, like just that's obviously something super random, but
- 18:34Speaker 1: like making yourself just feel clean and feel good is
- 18:38Speaker 1: the whole purpose of like a feel good reset, if
- 18:42Speaker 1: that makes sense. So I just got my hair done.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I feel so much better cutting off three inches of
- 18:48Speaker 1: my hair, you know, going darker for the fall season.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I kind of feel like a new me. But again,
- 18:54Speaker 1: it's been a great way to boost my competence and
- 18:56Speaker 1: I've definitely felt I don't know, just like better knowing
- 18:59Speaker 1: that I've gotten that done for myself. I did actually
- 19:02Speaker 1: book a nail appointment this week and I'm going to
- 19:04Speaker 1: be changing up the shape again doing a different color,
- 19:06Speaker 1: so I'm looking forward to that again. It's something I'm
- 19:08Speaker 1: looking forward to. It's something that I know that's going
- 19:11Speaker 1: to make me feel good and make me feel like
- 19:13Speaker 1: I put the energy towards myself by treating myself to
- 19:17Speaker 1: this feel good appointment. So I don't know, I personally
- 19:20Speaker 1: feel like when you put the effort in yourself, it
- 19:23Speaker 1: makes you feel like you actually care and it just
- 19:27Speaker 1: all in all makes you feel a little bit better.
- 19:29Speaker 1: So that's what I do when I'm in a funk,
- 19:31Speaker 1: is booking myself one feel good appointment, and I feel
- 19:35Speaker 1: a lot better going into my week when I treat
- 19:38Speaker 1: myself to a little appointment that's about taking care of yourself.
- 19:42Speaker 1: This next one is something that I never thought would
- 19:45Speaker 1: make a huge impact in my week, but it truly does.
- 19:47Speaker 1: And that is being more social or putting yourself in
- 19:51Speaker 1: a social setting. So if you work from home. Like me,
- 19:55Speaker 1: it could definitely be hard if you know, the back
- 19:58Speaker 1: to back days get really busy, you've ben still in
- 20:00Speaker 1: your office for eight hours getting all this work done.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Or it could be you know, you've been stuck at school,
- 20:06Speaker 1: you know, studying or writing a paper, and it's been
- 20:09Speaker 1: days of just like constant you know, same like, and
- 20:13Speaker 1: it's just been days where it constantly feels the same.
- 20:16Speaker 1: So what's important to do is it's important to kind
- 20:19Speaker 1: of change the environment. So whether it's going in a
- 20:21Speaker 1: social setting like a coffee shop or a library, like
- 20:24Speaker 1: getting out of your typical space might be good for you.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Just having a change of scenery and also just being
- 20:30Speaker 1: in a social environment just kind of makes you feel
- 20:32Speaker 1: a little bit better. But also like trying to make
- 20:35Speaker 1: the effort of making plans with your friends or getting
- 20:38Speaker 1: out of the house with your husband or your boyfriend,
- 20:40Speaker 1: whatever the case may be, like finding ways to putting
- 20:43Speaker 1: yourself in a social environment or just socializing with people
- 20:47Speaker 1: will really just make you feel a lot better. I
- 20:51Speaker 1: booked plans with my girlfriend this week. I'm actually seeing
- 20:53Speaker 1: two of my girlfriends this week, which I haven't seen
- 20:55Speaker 1: in a while, and I feel like that's going to
- 20:57Speaker 1: make me feel really good, just kind of reaching connecting
- 21:00Speaker 1: with them, catching up again, being in a social setting,
- 21:03Speaker 1: not being in the same environment that I'm typically in.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I also find again back to the workout classes, like
- 21:08Speaker 1: being in that social environment. I have a few friends
- 21:11Speaker 1: that I usually book classes with, which is nice. So
- 21:13Speaker 1: we usually talk for like fifteen minutes after the class.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I get my social fix in. It's nice. I get
- 21:19Speaker 1: back home, I lock in for work, and I feel good.
- 21:21Speaker 1: So sometimes just socializing and this is not socializing on
- 21:25Speaker 1: your phone, like I'm talking, socializing and connecting one on
- 21:27Speaker 1: one with a person in real life will make a
- 21:31Speaker 1: huge difference in your mood. And again, just make you
- 21:34Speaker 1: feel good and yeah, just kind of give you the
- 21:37Speaker 1: energy that you need. And then, honestly, the last one
- 21:40Speaker 1: is really just being kind to yourself and not being
- 21:42Speaker 1: so hard on yourself when you're going through this difficult time,
- 21:46Speaker 1: because you have to understand that when you're in a
- 21:49Speaker 1: funk or when you're in a rut, you need to
- 21:50Speaker 1: tell yourself that this is very temporary, like this is
- 21:53Speaker 1: not you're new forever, like it is going to be hard.
- 21:58Speaker 1: But doing these little things, doing these little tasks. It's
- 22:01Speaker 1: going to bring that spark back. It's just to make
- 22:03Speaker 1: ourselves feel better and feel more motivated and feel more productive.
- 22:07Speaker 1: That they're small wins like us doing these little tasks
- 22:10Speaker 1: are little things that we can check off in our
- 22:13Speaker 1: mind that we know is going to make us feel better.
- 22:16Speaker 1: And it's all about just doing the little things, moving
- 22:19Speaker 1: your body, drinking water, getting enough sleep, doing those little tasks.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Writing things down in a journal, Like you can spend
- 22:25Speaker 1: ten minutes in the morning writing on a piece of paper,
- 22:27Speaker 1: doesn't you have to be a journal of things that
- 22:30Speaker 1: you want to get done for the day or how
- 22:32Speaker 1: you're feeling in that current moment. It's so so important
- 22:35Speaker 1: to write things out physically. I think writing things out
- 22:39Speaker 1: makes a huge difference compared to like writing something in
- 22:42Speaker 1: your notes in your phone, and again just telling yourself
- 22:45Speaker 1: that this is temporary and that doing these little things
- 22:48Speaker 1: are going to bring back that motivation that you want
- 22:50Speaker 1: and that spark that you've been looking for. I also
- 22:52Speaker 1: didn't mention this tip as well, but I also feel
- 22:56Speaker 1: like romanticizing your life does also make a huge impact
- 23:00Speaker 1: in your mood. Like I personally love romanticizing my mornings
- 23:05Speaker 1: and nights by doing the extreme and the extra of
- 23:08Speaker 1: you know, putting on face mask, lighting candles, setting up
- 23:11Speaker 1: a fireplace, turning on my favorite TV show. Like, those
- 23:14Speaker 1: little things bring so much joy and comfort into my
- 23:18Speaker 1: life that I don't think people realize how those little
- 23:21Speaker 1: things make things feel so much better. I never bake, Okay,
- 23:24Speaker 1: I decided to bake cookies last week as part of
- 23:28Speaker 1: my night routine, and it was such a healing thing
- 23:31Speaker 1: to do of just like making the cookies, putting them
- 23:33Speaker 1: in the oven, taking them out, how to candle it
- 23:36Speaker 1: ate them, watch my favorite YouTube video like it truly
- 23:38Speaker 1: was such a vibe. Oh and I was scrolling through Pinterest,
- 23:40Speaker 1: like literally the little things that bring you so much joy.
- 23:44Speaker 1: When you actually like put the effort of doing those
- 23:46Speaker 1: things within your night or within your morning, you feel
- 23:49Speaker 1: so good. And again, it just kind of gets you
- 23:50Speaker 1: out of that negative headspace and more into a positive one.
- 23:54Speaker 1: So this week and last week, it's really just been
- 23:57Speaker 1: focusing on doing these little things really to get myself
- 24:01Speaker 1: out of this rut that I'm currently feeling, and how
- 24:03Speaker 1: I can really just boost my mood and get back
- 24:06Speaker 1: into my positive self. And oh, on top of that,
- 24:09Speaker 1: I never actually included this, but I've actually been off
- 24:13Speaker 1: these past two days of working out because I injured
- 24:16Speaker 1: my back, and obviously a back injury is no joke,
- 24:20Speaker 1: like it has really impacted my entire body, along with
- 24:25Speaker 1: really bad headaches. So I've been icing it, I've been
- 24:28Speaker 1: heating it, I've been taking advil. You know, my source
- 24:31Speaker 1: of movement right now has just been walking. So obviously
- 24:34Speaker 1: having an injury definitely makes an impact of not being
- 24:37Speaker 1: able to do workouts, which obviously brings me joy, and
- 24:41Speaker 1: it's been a little difficult. But I did book a
- 24:43Speaker 1: physio appointment, so I am getting that checked out, so
- 24:46Speaker 1: that has been a little hard. But again, I'm not
- 24:48Speaker 1: trying to be hard on myself because I know it's
- 24:50Speaker 1: temporary and I know going to this physio appointment is
- 24:53Speaker 1: going to make me feel better because they're going to
- 24:55Speaker 1: hopefully be able to figure out what's going on, hopefully,
- 24:59Speaker 1: you know, give me some wretches that I can do
- 25:01Speaker 1: to relieve this the just the muscle pain in general.
- 25:05Speaker 1: And I know I'm doing everything I can that I
- 25:08Speaker 1: can control to manage the situation. So that's kind of
- 25:12Speaker 1: been a little difficult having an injury, but hey, that's okay.
- 25:16Speaker 1: We know things are going to get better, and that's
- 25:18Speaker 1: why I'm here. I'm here to give you guys, tips,
- 25:20Speaker 1: tips that I'm taking in for myself, along with tips
- 25:23Speaker 1: for you if you're currently feeling this funk or rut
- 25:27Speaker 1: that you might be in. And again, as I said,
- 25:28Speaker 1: we are in a new season. It's one of those
- 25:30Speaker 1: seasons where it does get colder, it does get darker,
- 25:34Speaker 1: so it does make it hard on ourselves to you know,
- 25:37Speaker 1: have our typical routine, and it's all about adjusting things
- 25:40Speaker 1: and finding ways to make our days a little bit
- 25:43Speaker 1: better by yeah, just making little tweaks and finding ways
- 25:47Speaker 1: to motivate ourselves throughout our day to day life. So
- 25:51Speaker 1: I hope you guys found this episode inspirational and helpful
- 25:54Speaker 1: for anyone that might be going through a similar situation
- 25:56Speaker 1: like me, where we're in a funk and trying to
- 25:58Speaker 1: get out of it. But this episode's kind of short
- 26:01Speaker 1: and sweet. But again, I'm so happy to be back,
- 26:03Speaker 1: and honestly, I should be home for the rest of
- 26:06Speaker 1: the year, which I'm very happy about. So there should
- 26:08Speaker 1: be a lot of episodes coming before the end of
- 26:11Speaker 1: the year. But i'd love you guys. Also much thank
- 26:14Speaker 1: you guys for listening to another episode. If you guys
