- 0:36quarterly earnings missing both sales and earnings forecast.
- 0:40This miss was attributed primarily to lower average
- 0:43selling prices, or ASP's for its popular Model 3 and Model Y
- 0:48vehicles. Now Tesla reduced its prices
- 0:50more than expected to maintain its market share in the electric
- 0:53vehicle sector as high interest rates in a slow economic
- 0:56climate. Now this strategy while
- 0:58affecting short term financials, might not be a long term
- 1:01concern. As the economic situation
- 1:03improves and interest rates potentially decrease, Tesla has
- 1:06plans to introduce a new more affordable mass market vehicle.
- 1:10By 2025 it's going to be about $25,000 according to Elon Musk,
- 1:15which could temporarily affect current sales due to the Osborne
- 1:18effect. Now this phenomenon occurs when
- 1:20consumers delay purchasing in anticipation of a newer model.
- 1:24And despite this, Tesla's long term outlook remains positive
- 1:28with lowered future estimates potentially underestimating the
- 1:32company's growth potential. Now, following the year earnings
- 1:35report, Tesla's stock price fell to around $180.
- 1:39This is a significant drop from its high and this decrease
- 1:43reflects broader market sentiments but contrast with
- 1:46Tesla's increasing revenue and net income, highlighting the
- 1:49company's growing financial strength despite stock market
- 1:52volatility. Now Tesla stock has shown signs
- 1:55of reaching A generational low during the tech sell off with
- 1:59technical indicators like the RSI and stochastic oscillators
- 2:06suggesting potential momentum shifts.
- 2:08And long term prospects for Tesla stock remain pretty strong
- 2:12with potential for considering growth and market conditions
- 2:15evolve. Now let's take a look at some of
- 2:18the financials here. Looking ahead to 2024, the rest
- 2:22of 2024, Tesla's revenue projections paint kind of a
- 2:26promising picture of its growth trajectory.
- 2:28The company is expected to generate $80 billion from the
- 2:31sale of 2,000,000 Model 3 Model Y vehicles, assuming an average
- 2:35selling price of $40,000 each. The introduction of 75,000 cyber
- 2:40trucks with an ASP of 90,000 is anticipated to contribute an
- 2:45additional $6.75 billion. Now.
- 2:49Sales from 75,000 Model S s and XS with a higher ASP of 110,000
- 2:56are projected to add 8.25 billion to the revenue pool now.
- 3:01Furthermore, the emerging Tesla Semi with an estimated 25,000
- 3:05units sold at about $175,000 each, is expected to bring in
- 3:10$4.4 billion. There's additional revenue
- 3:14streams too, which are regulatory credit revenues of $2
- 3:18billion. Automotive leasing revenue is
- 3:20also at about 2 billion, and energy generation and storage
- 3:23sales projected at around 7 billion.
- 3:26Also, services and other revenue estimates of about $8.5 billion,
- 3:31culminating in a total revenue of about $118 billion for 2024.
- 3:37Now, the financial outlook for 2024 also highlights Tesla's
- 3:41profitability metrics. With a gross margin of 19.7%,
- 3:45Tesla's poised to achieve a gross profit of $23.44 billion.
- 3:50And after accounting for estimated operational cost of
- 3:53$8.8 billion and additional taxes and other expenses
- 3:57estimated at 1.2 bill, Tesla's net income is projected to reach
- 4:02about $13.45 billion. This financial performance
- 4:07translates to an earnings per share estimate of $4.20 for
- 4:132024. Now these projections show that
- 4:16Tesla's potential for sustained profitability and growth despite
- 4:19the dynamic challenges in the EV market.
- 4:21Right now, Tesla's ASPs for the Model 3 and Y segment dropped
- 4:25more than anticipated, impacting overall automotive sales.
- 4:28However, this trend might reverse as economic conditions
- 4:31change, potentially increasing ASPs and revenue from these core
- 4:35models. Now, despite the challenges that
- 4:38Tesla's facing, it's shown margin improvements in the
- 4:41recent quarter, indicating potential for enhanced
- 4:44profitability as it adjusts pricing strategies and
- 4:47operational efficiencies. Now, Tesla's profitability
- 4:51metrics, though currently lower than previous highs, are on an
- 4:54upward trajectory, though with new vehicle models on the
- 4:57horizon and an expected improvement in economic
- 5:00conditions, Tesla's profit margins are likely to expand,
- 5:04positively impacting its stock price.
- 5:07Now the. Announcement of Tesla's new mass
- 5:09market vehicle could lead to a temporary slowdown in Model 3
- 5:13and Model Y sales as consumers await the new model, the $25,000
- 5:17model. We don't know what it's called
- 5:19yet, however, this effect is expected to be a strategic shift
- 5:22rather than a long term detriment to Tesla's growth.
- 5:25Now projections for Tesla's 2024 revenues remain optimistic, with
- 5:29significant contributions expected from Model 3 and Y
- 5:33lineup and the introduction of the Cyber Truck and the Semi and
- 5:37the expansion of other business segments.
- 5:39Estimates suggest a strong revenue growth trajectory for
- 5:42Tesla in 2024 and early 2025. Now, current market sentiment
- 5:47around Tesla may be overly pessimistic though, with
- 5:51consensus EPS estimates potentially undervaluing the
- 5:55company's earnings potential. And as Tesla continues to
- 5:58innovate and expand its product line, its financial performance
- 6:01is likely to exceed market expectations.
- 6:04Given the current market dynamics and Tesla's growth
- 6:07prospects, the stock presents a potentially lucrative investment
- 6:11opportunity. Analysts suggest that the
- 6:13current valuation might be an opportune entry point for long
- 6:17term investors. Tesla faces significant
- 6:20competition for both established automakers and emerging EV
- 6:23companies too. These competitive pressures,
- 6:26along with other market and operational risks, could impact
- 6:29Tesla's growth trajectory and necessitate careful investment
- 6:32consideration. Now Tesla's an innovator.
- 6:36They challenge the markets, and they're also kind of financially
- 6:42volatile in a sort of bleak way right now.
- 6:46But it's looking good. And as the EV market continues
- 6:50to evolve, Tesla's strategic decisions from pricing to do
- 6:54model introductions will play a crucial role in shaping its
- 6:57future success. Investors and market watchers
- 7:00will monitor Tesla's progress, particularly in light of its
- 7:03ambitious plans for expansion and market dominance even more
- 7:07than they already have right now.
- 7:09With the $25,000 EV coming out sometime or being announced, I
- 7:14should say sometime in the coming year or two now, Tesla's
- 7:20fundamentals, their strategic initiatives and market
- 7:23positioning suggest a promising outlook and the company's
- 7:27ability to navigate market dynamics, innovate on the
- 7:31vehicles that they already have and come out with a new line and
- 7:35they also capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- 7:39It's a key to the long term success and also investor
- 7:43returns. Hey, thank you so much for
