- 2:01Speaker 2: Fellas how we live and how we doing? Oh man,
- 2:04Speaker 2: we are doing great. I'm excited.
- 2:05Speaker 6: Like I woke up five minutes before my alarm was
- 2:09Speaker 6: scheduled to go off, so you know it's.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Gonna be a good day. I got the internal clock going.
- 2:13Speaker 7: It's Dame week, and usually I felt like if you
- 2:16Speaker 7: wake up a little bit before wake up, and I'm like,
- 2:19Speaker 7: you know, set the alarm, you set it for five
- 2:22Speaker 7: thirty and you wake up and it's five twenty six.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Could have used that extra four? Could he use that
- 2:27Speaker 2: four minutes? Yeah? I don't know.
- 2:28Speaker 6: I just felt I felt good this morning. Put on
- 2:32Speaker 6: my LSU shirt signify that it's game week. I had
- 2:36Speaker 6: to let people know with.
- 2:38Speaker 2: My otherwise there's no way they would have known his
- 2:40Speaker 2: game week. That's right. I've been counting that down.
- 2:42Speaker 6: Nope, not at all. They needed my shirt to remind them.
- 2:46Speaker 6: I walked out to my car this morning. It wasn't humid,
- 2:49Speaker 6: which is nice. I don't know if that's just a
- 2:51Speaker 6: sign of the times, that's a sign of fall coming.
- 2:55Speaker 6: Taylor gave me a weather report for Wednesday, got a
- 2:58Speaker 6: high of eighty nine. Sixty nine is feeling good. I
- 3:03Speaker 6: know that's gonna change though. I know it's just a
- 3:05Speaker 6: little couple of days snap there. But look, I'm excited
- 3:09Speaker 6: we had some good football this weekend. Looking forward to
- 3:12Speaker 6: the build up.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Moose, how we doing?
- 3:15Speaker 4: Uh, you know, nothing like starting your week getting up
- 3:18Speaker 4: and uh, you know, god knows what time.
- 3:20Speaker 2: That's what I said.
- 3:21Speaker 8: Man, you know, I came to the group chat like
- 3:22Speaker 8: we need somebody to do OTV on money is like,
- 3:24Speaker 8: I'm your guy.
- 3:25Speaker 2: It's game week, let's go. I mean, we're here. It
- 3:29Speaker 2: took forever.
- 3:30Speaker 8: We can actually talk about the game now and not
- 3:32Speaker 8: sure you know, Oh man, how's the defense gonna look?
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah, there was that one week where Nuts had his
- 3:39Speaker 2: leg amputato.
- 3:40Speaker 8: Oh yes, And I mean I heard maybe a few
- 3:42Speaker 8: fingers and everything else as well.
- 3:45Speaker 2: So we're here game. We actually have a little bit
- 3:47Speaker 2: of energy. We'll see we'll see that last see that
- 3:50Speaker 2: milligrams of caffeine? Are you ready? Zero? Are you serious?
- 3:53Speaker 2: I don't drink coffee. He didn't drink I don't drink coffee.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I don't have kids yet. I don't like to take you.
- 3:58Speaker 6: You don't have to have kids to drink coffe. Yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 6: when you have them, you better find some beans. Good
- 4:03Speaker 6: for you though, Feeling.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Good though, Man, did this show for a long time?
- 4:07Speaker 4: Long time, well, at least a year, all in told,
- 4:10Speaker 4: at least when I started. You were the producer.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. You loved every morning, your energy. We
- 4:18Speaker 2: had fun. Moose is not a morning person. I'm not.
- 4:22Speaker 2: That's like you. I'm not a morning That's what I said. Job.
- 4:26Speaker 2: We'll see, we'll see how long this lasts. We will
- 4:30Speaker 2: probably come about eight thirty. I'd be like, all right,
- 4:32Speaker 2: that's okay. Hey, if you give us eight thirty, everything else,
- 4:35Speaker 2: anything else after that? Lane.
- 4:37Speaker 6: Yeah, Sometimes you got to just push your body to
- 4:40Speaker 6: do things you don't I'm like, I'm kind of like
- 4:41Speaker 6: David Goggins, you know, said that. Yeah, I know you
- 4:44Speaker 6: have you just gotta push you gotta do things you
- 4:46Speaker 6: don't like to do to make yourself tougher. So that's
- 4:49Speaker 6: what Moose and I are doing tonight today.
- 4:51Speaker 2: How bad do you want it? And what are you
- 4:52Speaker 2: willing to give up? To get there. Yeah, basically, now
- 4:55Speaker 2: I equal David Gaga exactly.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Now, somebody that never ever ever has of energy. How
- 5:01Speaker 4: you doing, Yeah, we're doing good. Uh, busy but fun weekend.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Guys.
- 5:06Speaker 1: We completed the fantasy draft yesterday. Said nobody worry. Very good,
- 5:10Speaker 1: but I do have a bit of bad news. Eric
- 5:15Speaker 1: Eric Dickerson was right before the fantasy draft started. I
- 5:20Speaker 1: got an email from the commissioners and it said, you
- 5:22Speaker 1: can't draft Door Sanders. Guy went undrafted. Eric Dickerson actually
- 5:27Speaker 1: nailed it. So he went undrafted and you probably catch
- 5:33Speaker 1: him on the waiver waiver wire week three coming.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Who is starting for the Browns? He was announcing a
- 5:43Speaker 2: week ago last week. Say Joe, hey, Joe boy, classic class.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Is he the only one left a draft? He has
- 5:53Speaker 2: to be. I feel like Josh Johnson's out there. Oh yeah, true,
- 5:56Speaker 2: he's out there somewhere. Yeah. There was a guy that
- 6:01Speaker 2: was in green What here's a guy I don't know?
- 6:07Speaker 2: Uh No, we had a guy in Green Bay my
- 6:09Speaker 2: rookie year. His name was j. J.
- 6:10Speaker 6: Jansen and he was a deep snapper and he was
- 6:14Speaker 6: a pretty good deep snapper. But anyway, he was in
- 6:18Speaker 6: in training camp and he like tours a cl in Trenting.
- 6:22Speaker 6: He's our our year, this is our year.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:24Speaker 6: So he was a rookie in two thousand and eight,
- 6:26Speaker 6: and so he's sitting there and he's like one of
- 6:28Speaker 6: these guys that we all knew he was on.
- 6:30Speaker 2: He got cut because he hurt himself.
- 6:32Speaker 6: He got paid for it, and then he got picked
- 6:33Speaker 6: up later in the year some the Panthers picked him up.
- 6:37Speaker 6: Sitting there watching the Panthers preseason game and on punt team.
- 6:42Speaker 6: I see the last time Jade Janssen guy still playing
- 6:46Speaker 6: deep snapping right now, right now, currently currently deep snapping
- 6:50Speaker 6: for the Carolina Panthers. And I think he's been with
- 6:52Speaker 6: the Carolina Panthers since two thousand and eight after he
- 6:55Speaker 6: got released. All Right, So if you if you're looking
- 6:58Speaker 6: to get in the NFL, no kid deep snap? How
- 7:02Speaker 6: does one learn that skill? I think you're just born
- 7:06Speaker 6: with it.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Do you have to be able to throw the ball
- 7:07Speaker 2: to do it?
- 7:08Speaker 6: You have to be a pretty good throwing Yeah, you
- 7:10Speaker 6: gotta be like talent. You gotta have to get a
- 7:12Speaker 6: good hand talent out. I can't make it comeback deep
- 7:16Speaker 6: snaps a little bit in high school. Well, you gotta
- 7:19Speaker 6: do something. Actually, when your honorable mention all District in
- 7:21Speaker 6: the four team district, first team, second team honorable mention,
- 7:28Speaker 6: I'm the only one of all those people that has
- 7:30Speaker 6: any honor.
- 7:33Speaker 4: If you think about it. Yeah, that's that's a great point. Actually,
- 7:37Speaker 4: everybody else no honor. It's really the one you want,
- 7:40Speaker 4: really the one do you want? Think about how bad
- 7:43Speaker 4: that fourth got felt?
- 7:45Speaker 2: Now that is the real question. What's he doing?
- 7:48Speaker 6: So everybody got something but me's going on here?
- 7:53Speaker 2: Well all right, uh, some of the big news coming
- 7:57Speaker 2: out of l U.
- 7:57Speaker 4: But let's go ahead as we prepare to give you
- 7:59Speaker 4: the news and get this show started.
- 8:02Speaker 3: It's time to get glowing courtesy of go flow ivy spa,
- 8:06Speaker 3: where hydration vitamins and a summer ready glow are always
- 8:10Speaker 3: on SAP. Now for starters.
- 8:14Speaker 4: All right, as we get this show started, I want
- 8:15Speaker 4: to tell you about our friends over at go Flow
- 8:18Speaker 4: iv SPA Go flowiv dot com. You know it is
- 8:21Speaker 4: right on Jefferson Nearbo cause you see the number there
- 8:24Speaker 4: two two five nine five three eight one five zero.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Go ahead and give them a call. Look, do not
- 8:30Speaker 4: get full by the scoonch of fall that we're.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Going to have this week.
- 8:34Speaker 4: It is still hot, it is still human and you
- 8:36Speaker 4: need to be hydrated, or or if you're just you know,
- 8:40Speaker 4: you had a really good Saturday night watching the Tigers
- 8:43Speaker 4: play Memorial Stadium, and maybe you know you need to
- 8:46Speaker 4: get your day jump started on Sunday. You can go
- 8:48Speaker 4: see them for that as well.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yeah, go see them. They are right there on Jefferson Highway.
- 8:52Speaker 6: And like, if you've ever thought of it, you've heard
- 8:54Speaker 6: of the IV treatments, You've seen it on whatever it is,
- 8:57Speaker 6: on social media, TV, whatever it is, Go give it
- 8:59Speaker 6: a try.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Go.
- 9:00Speaker 6: It takes about thirty to forty minutes to get you
- 9:02Speaker 6: count set up to get an IV you're.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Talking about staying hydrated.
- 9:05Speaker 6: You're talking about getting some all the alphabet vitamins, abc D,
- 9:09Speaker 6: whatever it is. You can feel better, IVY hydrated, get bottomized.
- 9:15Speaker 6: Go see him, go flow ivy dot com.
- 9:17Speaker 4: All right, So you know, look, we're gonna break down
- 9:19Speaker 4: the game and we'll continue to look at position battles
- 9:22Speaker 4: and we'll take a look at the Clemson Tigers throughout
- 9:25Speaker 4: the week. But some of the big news coming out
- 9:27Speaker 4: of LSU, Garrett Nussmeyer is going to wear number eighteen.
- 9:33Speaker 4: It is the first time that a quarterback will wear
- 9:36Speaker 4: number eighteen since Flenn's teammate Matt Mack in two thousand
- 9:40Speaker 4: and three. Actually, Matt Mack is going to join us
- 9:43Speaker 4: today at nine thirty, so looking forward to catching up
- 9:46Speaker 4: with Mack and a cool video LS you put out
- 9:49Speaker 4: there with Matt Mack and Nussmeyer facetiming each other. It
- 9:52Speaker 4: is wild to think it's been that long since the
- 9:54Speaker 4: quarterback has won it, but it kind of tells you
- 9:57Speaker 4: exactly you know who Garrett Neusmeyer is, and and he was,
- 10:00Speaker 4: you know, an obvious choice, but you know, you never
- 10:03Speaker 4: you're never quite sure, like numbers are a big deal,
- 10:05Speaker 4: so you never quite sure, like is someone going to
- 10:07Speaker 4: change their number? Look, he wore thirteen. Now, I wore
- 10:11Speaker 4: five when he first got here, but thirteen it's his number.
- 10:13Speaker 8: Uh.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Look I wore thirteen my whole life before I got
- 10:16Speaker 4: the LSU, so I understand it, right. I wore it
- 10:19Speaker 4: for Dan, the man Marino. I don't think he probably
- 10:21Speaker 4: wore it different generation.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I don't think he.
- 10:25Speaker 4: He let us know how old we are, but you
- 10:27Speaker 4: know he look, he accepted the number. Uh that is
- 10:30Speaker 4: not taken lightly, and so added him to the group.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Chat last night, and uh, you know, everybody was fired
- 10:37Speaker 4: up for him, sending him messages last night and uh,
- 10:39Speaker 4: nuss had a great response as nobody's surprised by that,
- 10:43Speaker 4: but very excited for him to be in the number.
- 10:46Speaker 4: It is something that all of us are very prideful about.
- 10:49Speaker 4: I know, it means the world to us, means the
- 10:51Speaker 4: world to our families. To be able to be a
- 10:53Speaker 4: part of that brotherhood and to have nuf Smyer wearing it,
- 10:57Speaker 4: it's great, it's incredible, it's it's somebody that certainly deserves it.
- 11:02Speaker 4: The guy sitting to my left kind of has a
- 11:04Speaker 4: very similar story of could have gone a lot of
- 11:06Speaker 4: different places, could have played for a lot of football
- 11:09Speaker 4: teams while he was waiting for his turn, didn't do that,
- 11:12Speaker 4: stayed worked hard.
- 11:13Speaker 2: And when it was his turn, certainly made the most
- 11:15Speaker 2: of it.
- 11:16Speaker 4: And so I can appreciate the way he goes about
- 11:18Speaker 4: his business, the kind of his story, his path, the
- 11:21Speaker 4: entire deal. He gets his opportunity, goes out, throws for
- 11:24Speaker 4: four thousand plus yards, second most in LSU history, and
- 11:27Speaker 4: now he's going to wear number eighteen as obviously a
- 11:31Speaker 4: permanent team captain for this team.
- 11:34Speaker 2: So fired it from us.
- 11:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, obviously nuss has been a big storyline
- 11:39Speaker 6: all last year, all through the offseason, the lead up
- 11:41Speaker 6: to build up to this season, and we are going
- 11:44Speaker 6: to talk a lot about him each and every day,
- 11:45Speaker 6: each and every week about his play on the field.
- 11:48Speaker 6: But I think this, I mean this day and kind
- 11:51Speaker 6: of coming on the heels of that announcement, we get
- 11:53Speaker 6: to talk about like him as a person and as
- 11:56Speaker 6: a leader of a team. And he is when I
- 12:00Speaker 6: when I when I see people throughout the country who
- 12:03Speaker 6: are fans of different teams and like, tell me about
- 12:07Speaker 6: the Tigers, tell me about the LSU football team leading up.
- 12:10Speaker 6: You know, I always lead with him and I tell
- 12:12Speaker 6: them people that don't know a lot about the LSU
- 12:15Speaker 6: team this year, I tell them, like, look, if you
- 12:20Speaker 6: if you just love college football, if you love the
- 12:22Speaker 6: spirit of college football, Garrett Nusmeyer is one of those
- 12:25Speaker 6: guys like anywhere in the country, any fan base you are,
- 12:28Speaker 6: is a guy that you can cheer for because in
- 12:30Speaker 6: a world that we live in now of college football,
- 12:33Speaker 6: where people take the payday, people transfer, they want instant gratification.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Uh, people are not patient.
- 12:40Speaker 6: People don't always like to do the right thing like that,
- 12:43Speaker 6: sometimes going to a different place is the right thing
- 12:45Speaker 6: to do for that situation. Like in that world, you
- 12:48Speaker 6: have a guy that had an old school mindset, Yeah,
- 12:51Speaker 6: had a patient mindset, did things you know, for him
- 12:56Speaker 6: the exact right way, even though he did not get
- 12:59Speaker 6: that in gratification, He's sitting there probably thinking that he
- 13:02Speaker 6: has a chance to be a starter. And okay, they
- 13:04Speaker 6: bring in to Jayden Daniels. All right, that's what's the
- 13:08Speaker 6: easy button at that point. Let's go play somewhere exactly.
- 13:11Speaker 6: I could go play at Auburn, I could go play anywhere,
- 13:14Speaker 6: but no, I'm gonna sit here and I maybe I
- 13:17Speaker 6: don't think I'm ready. Maybe I do think I'm ready,
- 13:20Speaker 6: but this is the place for me. I just love
- 13:22Speaker 6: the purple and goal like like I look back on
- 13:24Speaker 6: mind like I couldn't when I was here. I couldn't
- 13:26Speaker 6: envision myself putting on another uniform. I didn't want to
- 13:29Speaker 6: do it. Like I made a commitment. I loved it,
- 13:31Speaker 6: I bled it, and I couldn't envision myself with anything
- 13:36Speaker 6: with another helmet on. And maybe that's and I know
- 13:39Speaker 6: Garrett has that in him. But like in a world
- 13:41Speaker 6: I said, man if nothing else. You don't have to
- 13:43Speaker 6: cheer for the team. I know you're a you know,
- 13:45Speaker 6: Texas fan or a you know, a Wisconsin fan, whatever,
- 13:48Speaker 6: it is cheer for the person because that is what
- 13:51Speaker 6: embodies what is good about college football, and a person
- 13:53Speaker 6: that is like it's a little bit of a unicorn
- 13:55Speaker 6: right now because it doesn't happen, like this doesn't happen.
- 13:58Speaker 6: A guy waits around, waits turned. So that is embodied
- 14:03Speaker 6: with this decision. And of course I like to give
- 14:05Speaker 6: Jacob a hard time about the eighteen. It doesn't mean
- 14:07Speaker 6: blah blah blah like I kind of like you, I
- 14:09Speaker 6: like to make fun of the eighteen whatever, But I
- 14:13Speaker 6: mean it does embody, character, personality, what you mean to
- 14:19Speaker 6: a team. And of course they did that with a
- 14:21Speaker 6: permanent team captain, which is a huge deal. Yeah, and
- 14:27Speaker 6: just proud of who nes Meyer is for this team,
- 14:30Speaker 6: Proud of what he's done the patients has shown, proud
- 14:31Speaker 6: of the team and looking forward and excited to see
- 14:35Speaker 6: how his leadership is gonna The only question I have
- 14:38Speaker 6: on this whole situation there is which number are they
- 14:42Speaker 6: going to retire after a That's the real question. Thirteen
- 14:47Speaker 6: thirteen they go back to it. I don't know, it's
- 14:50Speaker 6: actually funny. Like as soon as like my next point
- 14:52Speaker 6: was going, what if Burrow would have worn eighteen, what
- 14:55Speaker 6: do they do?
- 14:56Speaker 2: Yeah? Can they just go in and retire at nine?
- 14:58Speaker 2: Just do it?
- 15:00Speaker 4: It's funny like so like my next point was going
- 15:02Speaker 4: to be, like eighteen will never be up at the
- 15:05Speaker 4: top of the stadium, and a lot of players that
- 15:07Speaker 4: where look, you know, we we contribute to our teams,
- 15:10Speaker 4: and you know there's certainly guys like Tredevius White that
- 15:13Speaker 4: were all American caliber players, and there's been there's been
- 15:16Speaker 4: really really really good.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Players about like the always the best exactly. Yeah, like
- 15:20Speaker 2: this is.
- 15:22Speaker 4: This is maybe I mean truly honestly for being honest
- 15:26Speaker 4: to ourselves the first time that the best player on
- 15:28Speaker 4: the team has ever more number eighteen. But I only
- 15:32Speaker 4: I only say that to bring up the point of
- 15:35Speaker 4: everything that Flynn just said, Like you've got everything that
- 15:39Speaker 4: you're supposed to have to worry number eighteen, right, a
- 15:41Speaker 4: guy that on and off the field, you don't have
- 15:44Speaker 4: to worry about him. You know he's going to do
- 15:45Speaker 4: the right things. You know he's going to be a leader.
- 15:47Speaker 4: When there's a situation when you should go right way
- 15:50Speaker 4: or wrong way. He's always going to go the right way.
- 15:52Speaker 4: So oftentimes you get a player that obviously contributes to
- 15:55Speaker 4: the team that's not the best player on the team.
- 16:00Speaker 4: This might be the first time that it's the best
- 16:01Speaker 4: player on the team because he is both these things.
- 16:04Speaker 4: He is the guy that's going to do the right
- 16:06Speaker 4: things on and off the field. You don't have to
- 16:07Speaker 4: worry about NFL scouts come in. They know you worry
- 16:10Speaker 4: a team. Okay, cool, check Mark, we don't have to
- 16:12Speaker 4: worry about it. But he's also the best player on
- 16:14Speaker 4: the team. So just tells you step on your throat
- 16:17Speaker 4: in the fourth quarter exactly, so he tells you kind
- 16:19Speaker 4: of his DNA and who we're talking about here, So
- 16:22Speaker 4: like that's what fires me up.
- 16:23Speaker 2: It's very very cool that it's on a quarterback.
- 16:25Speaker 4: I mean literally, like kind of the first time ever,
- 16:28Speaker 4: Like Matt gave it to me and that was the
- 16:29Speaker 4: first time, and the quarterbacks never warn it again. So
- 16:33Speaker 4: the fact that a quarterback the best player on the
- 16:35Speaker 4: team but also the guy that embodies everything that means
- 16:38Speaker 4: to wear a team at LSU, I think that speaks
- 16:41Speaker 4: so highly and speaks so loudly for Garrett Nusmeyer, it.
- 16:46Speaker 6: Absolutely does, like we and we know it, and we
- 16:49Speaker 6: can sit here and just kind of talking circles about
- 16:53Speaker 6: like what he means and what he's done. But the
- 16:55Speaker 6: fact of the matter is he's done something that not
- 16:59Speaker 6: many people do right now, that is wait his turn
- 17:02Speaker 6: and then take advantage of that turn. So like and
- 17:05Speaker 6: so in all the preseason accolades, he deserved it all.
- 17:08Speaker 6: He gets it off. Now it is game week time,
- 17:11Speaker 6: and now it's time to go and face face off
- 17:15Speaker 6: with mister kid club then with it, wearing the rock
- 17:17Speaker 6: and the number eighteen.
- 17:19Speaker 2: On his chest. This might be the last time we
- 17:22Speaker 2: ever thought of school was fifteen still, but it's all right.
- 17:25Speaker 4: I knew you had to get that in. Hey, look,
- 17:27Speaker 4: fifteen is not that much different than eighteen. It's just
- 17:29Speaker 4: two lines that's better looking. It looks you just close it,
- 17:32Speaker 4: you just close the road, but objectively looks better.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Sexy.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Again, it's kind of the same number. Thirteen, fifteen and
- 17:41Speaker 4: eighteen very very similar.
- 17:44Speaker 6: So is there any good uh, like any good hot
- 17:47Speaker 6: goss in the group text in the eighteen group chat.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Like, wouldn't you like to know Bud? I would wouldn't
- 17:52Speaker 2: you like to.
- 17:53Speaker 6: Know, and I'd like to make fun of y'all. That's
- 17:55Speaker 6: the only reason I want to know. I can only
- 17:58Speaker 6: imagine how, just like cringe that group text, man, welcome
- 18:04Speaker 6: to the club.
- 18:04Speaker 2: You really deserve it, and he's like, oh, thanks man,
- 18:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna try to live up to it. Blah blah blah.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I being proud of you. How the fifteen group text
- 18:12Speaker 2: pop off last night was pop It's like three of us.
- 18:16Speaker 6: It was you, Miles Brennan. I was like, who else?
- 18:23Speaker 6: I'm so proud of you, dude, It's awesome. There's probably
- 18:28Speaker 6: nothing cool said.
- 18:30Speaker 2: You don't know, you never know.
- 18:32Speaker 6: Nothing funny, nothing creative, nothing cool said. It was just
- 18:36Speaker 6: all like cheesy and gushy. There's no doubt in my mind.
- 18:42Speaker 6: The best part, though, is you'll never know. I keep
- 18:46Speaker 6: saying it, but I'm right, No, there's nothing good said.
- 18:50Speaker 6: What'd y'all talk about last night? You there anything that
- 18:52Speaker 6: was n sfw.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Uh No eighteen's gonna do that? Flynn, Yeah, that's right,
- 18:59Speaker 2: wouldn't I do that? So? Never been a curse word
- 19:02Speaker 2: said in that group text.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Congratulations too great Nesmar are all Flenninism's aside truly, though,
- 19:10Speaker 4: super proud of him, glad to invite him into the
- 19:15Speaker 4: group text last night that Flynn Bridge is he's a
- 19:17Speaker 4: part of truly though, truly, truly, truly, very excited for him.
- 19:23Speaker 2: And again, I know numbers are important.
- 19:25Speaker 4: I know that it's something that certainly when you are
- 19:28Speaker 4: an All American candidate and you are you know, somebody
- 19:31Speaker 4: that's potentially you know, Heisman front runner, to change your number,
- 19:35Speaker 4: that is not.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Taken lightly by anybody.
- 19:37Speaker 4: So glad that he accepted the challenge, and glad to
- 19:41Speaker 4: see those three permanent team captains with Nuss, Perk and Witt.
- 19:46Speaker 4: I think that's three really good guys that are going
- 19:48Speaker 4: to lead LSU.
- 19:49Speaker 2: To a big season. Yeah, I'm excited.
- 19:51Speaker 6: And they all need to watch Varsity Blues because we
- 19:54Speaker 6: know they haven't. There's none of them have seen it.
- 19:56Speaker 6: Do you think do you think Wit followed up on
- 19:59Speaker 6: this promise to watch it?
- 20:00Speaker 2: No? No, I didn't, liar, Maybe you did, maybe you did,
- 20:09Speaker 2: probably not take it back.
- 20:10Speaker 4: All right, we'll take a break more OTB. Like we said,

- 21:46Speaker 3: off the Bench with Hester and t Bob.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Stealing see I can still see myself on a bus
- 22:26Speaker 4: right now, pulling up to Victory Hill. Me and Brett
- 22:30Speaker 4: Haim sharing an earphone. Okay, because we didn't have a splitter.
- 22:34Speaker 4: We were balling on a budget, so we each shared
- 22:38Speaker 4: a little earbud listening to this song.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Getting ready to walk down the hill, Ye and beat
- 22:45Speaker 2: up on somebody.
- 22:46Speaker 6: I told you from my entire since I think my
- 22:50Speaker 6: software press for a software year of college. This was
- 22:53Speaker 6: the last song I listened to before every single game.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I played it until I retired to get like hyped,
- 23:00Speaker 2: but I couldn't get two hyped. It's a good it's
- 23:03Speaker 2: a good slow build up to get in your mind.
- 23:07Speaker 6: Right yeah, I told you, like I couldn't listen to
- 23:08Speaker 6: the hardcore stuff like the defensive people would do, because
- 23:13Speaker 6: like I did that in high school one time, and
- 23:15Speaker 6: I overthrew like my first five passes of the game.
- 23:17Speaker 2: It was a little too hyped. So this one was perfect. Man.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Right now, it's a stirn up all sorts of emotions
- 23:23Speaker 2: for me.
- 23:27Speaker 4: All right, So I want to ask you as a
- 23:29Speaker 4: defense right as I said, as a quarterback, So like
- 23:31Speaker 4: I am a a known meathead, I used to love
- 23:37Speaker 4: going on the road and playing against a big time
- 23:40Speaker 4: of puny.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Now you look, you love home games.
- 23:42Speaker 4: But for for an offensive player like here, when we're
- 23:46Speaker 4: on the field, the fans know, hey, we don't cheer, right.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Offense has got to be out there and communicate. Now,
- 23:52Speaker 4: on the road, it's like you can't hear yourself think
- 23:55Speaker 4: a little bit. And when you're a young player, it's awful.
- 23:57Speaker 4: It's terrible. It's like, oh my god, I barely know
- 24:00Speaker 4: the plays. I really don't even know. I'm just kind
- 24:02Speaker 4: of memorizing the plays right now. And if you check
- 24:04Speaker 4: to something and I don't hear it, I don't know
- 24:07Speaker 4: based off the look what you're checking to later on
- 24:09Speaker 4: in my life, I will. I don't right now, but
- 24:11Speaker 4: then once you get to that point and you do
- 24:14Speaker 4: become a veteran player, there is nothing better to me.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Then when you go to someone else's stadium and then
- 24:21Speaker 4: you make the play that puts the game away. Sometimes
- 24:24Speaker 4: that can be in the beginning of the fourth quarter.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Sometimes it can be in the third quarter. Sometimes it's
- 24:28Speaker 4: the very last play that you get and then when
- 24:30Speaker 4: it's so loud, and then you make the play and.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Then you can hear a pin drop in their stadium.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Like that is so hard to replicate that feeling because
- 24:39Speaker 4: everybody's just screaming everything they possibly can to get you
- 24:43Speaker 4: off your game, and then you make the play and
- 24:46Speaker 4: then it's just dead silence.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 24:48Speaker 6: That's one of the best feelings in the entire world,
- 24:52Speaker 6: is shutting up one hundred thousand people in their stadium.
- 24:56Speaker 6: And I was thinking about, like as a quarterback, like
- 24:58Speaker 6: you're you and the center, the only person that like
- 25:01Speaker 6: touches the ball every play, so like you're the most
- 25:03Speaker 6: impactful person on the field. It's like I'm sitting here
- 25:06Speaker 6: and I am controlling one hundred thousand people in the
- 25:08Speaker 6: palm of my hand right now. They basically no doubt
- 25:10Speaker 6: they either are gonna cheer against me, they're cheering cheer
- 25:13Speaker 6: for me, they're gonna shut up.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and uh it was. Yeah, one of the best
- 25:17Speaker 2: feelings in the world when you could shut up that many.
- 25:19Speaker 4: People two thousand and five at Alabama, two thousand and six,
- 25:24Speaker 4: at Tennessee two thousand and seven. I'm trying to think
- 25:28Speaker 4: of our road games. Alabama. Yeah, Alabama, that one that
- 25:37Speaker 4: was the probably that was probably the rowdy, that was
- 25:40Speaker 4: the rowdiest away game. Yeah, Tennessee. Tennessee's crowds a little bit,
- 25:46Speaker 4: a little bit different. It's a lot of people. Yeah,
- 25:48Speaker 4: it's a different feel two thousand and seven. Yeah, Chad
- 25:51Speaker 4: Jones when he made that play, Uh, it definitely went
- 25:54Speaker 4: quiet and then we scored a touchdown game over.
- 26:00Speaker 2: That's what else. Who's gonna be looking to do? Coming
- 26:02Speaker 2: up this Saturday?
- 26:03Speaker 4: It is going to it's whatever Memorial Stadium's peak is,
- 26:08Speaker 4: whatever it's always been, it is going to go up
- 26:13Speaker 4: another notch. Like I guarantee you that it's the most
- 26:17Speaker 4: fans that ever go to a game. You know that
- 26:19Speaker 4: is like it's like, wait a minute, how can you
- 26:20Speaker 4: beat that?
- 26:20Speaker 2: You have a capacity.
- 26:21Speaker 4: They're gonna standing room only. They'll bring in some bleachers,
- 26:24Speaker 4: they'll do like something will happen. It will be the
- 26:26Speaker 4: biggest crowd in that stadium's history. You are going to
- 26:30Speaker 4: be going against a crowd, first game of the year,
- 26:34Speaker 4: all the energy you can possibly imagine. They look they
- 26:38Speaker 4: remember you beat them in twenty nineteen for a national championship.
- 26:41Speaker 4: There's the whole Death Valley debate.
- 26:43Speaker 6: There's gonna there's I can imagine how much Death Valley
- 26:46Speaker 6: propaganda is going on in Clemson, South Carolina this week,
- 26:50Speaker 6: how much they're talking to their fans like, let's show
- 26:53Speaker 6: them up, show them, Like, sure, this is gonna be
- 26:55Speaker 6: the loudest. Probably I would say that's probably gonna be
- 26:58Speaker 6: our loudest Clemson Stadium is ever.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I agree, And it probably is not even gonna be close.
- 27:03Speaker 6: Yeah, Like, because you got the preseason build up to it,
- 27:05Speaker 6: everybody's just ready to pop right now, and then you
- 27:07Speaker 6: got the whole Death Valley situation, Like you got everything
- 27:10Speaker 6: that you just laid out so lsu From a mental standpoint,
- 27:14Speaker 6: when you go into a situation like that, you gotta
- 27:17Speaker 6: go in there with a mindset of CounterPunch. You gotta
- 27:19Speaker 6: be a counter puncher here, like I can't, Like there
- 27:22Speaker 6: is going to be this moment on every big game
- 27:25Speaker 6: as an offense where you have to withstand a blow
- 27:28Speaker 6: from the defense because they're gonna come out. They're gonna
- 27:31Speaker 6: come out swinging, like defense is the is the side
- 27:33Speaker 6: of the ball where you can just let your hair down,
- 27:38Speaker 6: light it on fire, and like play as fast as
- 27:40Speaker 6: you can and you don't need like there's positions out
- 27:42Speaker 6: there like defensive end, defensive ta Like they can just
- 27:45Speaker 6: play as fast as they can and they're gonna have
- 27:46Speaker 6: so much adrenaline. So you have to withstand that blow
- 27:50Speaker 6: and you have to kind of like a heavyweight fight,
- 27:52Speaker 6: like fighting somebody like.
- 27:53Speaker 2: That's bigger than you. Got to use their momentum against you.
- 27:56Speaker 6: But like on offense, we always would talk about with
- 27:58Speaker 6: stand the blow, CounterPunch, like we're not going to go
- 28:01Speaker 6: out there on the first drive and try to punch
- 28:05Speaker 6: them right because you just it's it's the way like
- 28:08Speaker 6: you have to you have to know on offense, and
- 28:10Speaker 6: that's what gets like the key of a really good
- 28:12Speaker 6: play caller is no one when to punch right, no
- 28:14Speaker 6: one when to punch, no one to block block, block, block.
- 28:16Speaker 2: And then no one wanted to throw a haymaker.
- 28:18Speaker 6: And usually in those types of games, you're kind of
- 28:20Speaker 6: you're hitting your screens, you're hitting your quick passes, your
- 28:22Speaker 6: middle little misdirection, try to try to pop off a
- 28:25Speaker 6: good a nice little three four yard run early on, Like,
- 28:28Speaker 6: those are the things. Get get the ball out of
- 28:30Speaker 6: your quarterback's hand, get a ball into playmakers hands, get
- 28:33Speaker 6: some get somebody out in space a little bit, and
- 28:35Speaker 6: then once play four, five six of that first drive,
- 28:38Speaker 6: then things starting to start to settle down a little bit, right,
- 28:41Speaker 6: But you have to withstand you got to be a counterpuncher.
- 28:46Speaker 4: I agree wholeheartedly with that. That's really honestly at every
- 28:48Speaker 4: level of football. But certainly when you're going on the
- 28:51Speaker 4: road like that and you are facing your crowd, that's
- 28:53Speaker 4: going to be again, whatever its peak is, it is
- 28:56Speaker 4: going to be exceeded. As a quarterback, though, do you
- 29:01Speaker 4: do anything different it? Like, like, what is different when
- 29:04Speaker 4: you're going into a situation like that, when everybody in
- 29:07Speaker 4: that stadium wants you to do poorly and they're gonna
- 29:10Speaker 4: be as loud as they can.
- 29:11Speaker 2: What are some of the biggest challenges for you?
- 29:14Speaker 4: Now, new offensive line right, you're going to have it
- 29:19Speaker 4: might be five new right at times if Chester's not
- 29:22Speaker 4: in there, but it's certainly going to be four new
- 29:25Speaker 4: offensive lineman first time that they'll be like they'll work
- 29:27Speaker 4: on crowd noise this week. That like if you drive
- 29:31Speaker 4: by the facility today and you're on Nicholson, you'll hear
- 29:34Speaker 4: the crowd noise, like it's going to be that loud.
- 29:37Speaker 4: But that's only in practice, that's only that's as best
- 29:39Speaker 4: as you can simulate it, obviously, But as a quarterback,
- 29:42Speaker 4: what are some of the things that you know are
- 29:43Speaker 4: going to be a challenge that you try to handle
- 29:45Speaker 4: this situation.
- 29:46Speaker 6: The communication is the number one thing, so especially with
- 29:48Speaker 6: the new offensive line, making sure you over communicate the cause.
- 29:53Speaker 6: So there's sometimes when you get in a situation where
- 29:55Speaker 6: it's so loud and you have to if you have
- 29:57Speaker 6: to make an adjustment to either the snap count, protection adjustment,
- 30:01Speaker 6: a mic adjustment, whatever it is. Like, there's situations there's
- 30:04Speaker 6: sometimes where you'd be in a game or a practice
- 30:07Speaker 6: where a lot of crowd noise and you have to
- 30:09Speaker 6: tell each one individually, like you got to walk up
- 30:12Speaker 6: and down the line. It's uh, walking down the line
- 30:15Speaker 6: and tell like left guard, center, right guard, right down.
- 30:18Speaker 2: You gotta tell everybody.
- 30:19Speaker 6: And it's that it's you have to learn how to
- 30:21Speaker 6: over communicate because a lot of times, like a young quarterback,
- 30:24Speaker 6: you get into a new situation with that much energy,
- 30:27Speaker 6: things are really fast for you. You're a little bit
- 30:30Speaker 6: like you got a journaline pumping. Things are a little
- 30:31Speaker 6: bit panicky. You got to be able to slow everything down.
- 30:35Speaker 6: And sometimes it's like, all right, I'm gonna I'm making
- 30:37Speaker 6: a call and I'm telling I tell the right side. Yeah,
- 30:40Speaker 6: And I'm like, okay, well i gotta get back and
- 30:41Speaker 6: I gotta say the snapcount. Oh, there's only seven seconds
- 30:43Speaker 6: on the play clock, like there's time ran like a breath.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Relax.
- 30:47Speaker 6: You gotta tell everybody because that happens a lot, like
- 30:50Speaker 6: when there's crowd noise. Half the line gets the call,
- 30:54Speaker 6: half does it. So you have to make sure that
- 30:55Speaker 6: everybody's on the same page. That's a big thing. It's
- 30:57Speaker 6: just communication. How do we communicate in that time a
- 31:00Speaker 6: crowd noise because the play, like the game play is
- 31:03Speaker 6: not you're gonna have a first fifteen. Yeah, you're gonna
- 31:07Speaker 6: wrap those first fifteen A billion times this week you're
- 31:09Speaker 6: gonna know the play, you're gonna know your read, you're
- 31:11Speaker 6: gonna know how to execute it. Now you got to
- 31:13Speaker 6: Now you just got to look for things that you're
- 31:15Speaker 6: not prepared for. Like, all right, we we think based
- 31:18Speaker 6: on their tendencies last year that week one they're gonna
- 31:22Speaker 6: be in this defense. This is the percentage they're gonna
- 31:24Speaker 6: do there, we're gonna be cover one, you know, single
- 31:28Speaker 6: hot safety sixty three percent.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Whatever that is.
- 31:31Speaker 6: You have to look for change ups to that because
- 31:33Speaker 6: week week one you don't really know, Like you think
- 31:36Speaker 6: you got an idea, but they could be they can
- 31:38Speaker 6: work and you're not ready to pack every so really
- 31:43Speaker 6: it's a communication. Then as a quarterback in a big game,
- 31:45Speaker 6: I always like to get hit early. Yeah I don't
- 31:47Speaker 6: even know get sacked, but like I wanted to like
- 31:49Speaker 6: take some contact because like as soon as that happens,
- 31:52Speaker 6: it's like, all right, I'm in a football game. Now,
- 31:54Speaker 6: this is eleven on eleven. And once you get into
- 31:57Speaker 6: the game, once you get a little completion, once you
- 31:59Speaker 6: get hit a little bit. As a quarterback, it doesn't
- 32:02Speaker 6: matter who's in the crowd, Like you forget all that stuff,
- 32:05Speaker 6: like what like the build up to the game is
- 32:08Speaker 6: the worst part at the beginning of the game is
- 32:10Speaker 6: the part where you're thinking about everything else around you.
- 32:13Speaker 6: But once the game starts and you get in the
- 32:15Speaker 6: start getting the rhythm with like a little completion with
- 32:18Speaker 6: getting it, It's like, man, all I see is inside these.
- 32:21Speaker 2: White lines right now. The crowd noise stinks, But like
- 32:24Speaker 2: I'm not I don't look at the crowd.
- 32:26Speaker 4: No, no, no. I always say, you put up like
- 32:28Speaker 4: these blackout curtains. If you're doing it right, you like
- 32:31Speaker 4: you hear it, not gonna act like you don't. But
- 32:34Speaker 4: as far as like seeing it and even like you know,
- 32:37Speaker 4: feeling it, like the noise is the one thing you
- 32:39Speaker 4: can't get rid of. But if you're doing your right,
- 32:42Speaker 4: you do create these blackout curtain It is only going
- 32:45Speaker 4: to be the field, like the sidelines, Like I'm not
- 32:48Speaker 4: even paying attention to that right now.
- 32:51Speaker 6: But you do something, you get that done something, And
- 32:53Speaker 6: it's not like you're not like cognitively doing that. You're
- 32:55Speaker 6: not focusing right walking up, walking up, No, you're just
- 32:58Speaker 6: you're mad at the other team. Yeah, just trying to
- 33:00Speaker 6: beat them.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Yep, all right, we'll continue to break it down.
- 33:03Speaker 4: How's else you're going to beat the Clemson Tigers, and
- 33:05Speaker 4: it might be the last matchup we see for a
- 33:09Speaker 4: very long time, a top ten matchup that features two
- 33:12Speaker 4: quarterbacks that signed with said school out of high school.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Thinking about that, thinking about the last time we've actually
- 33:18Speaker 4: had one of those, it has been a long time.
- 33:21Speaker 2: It probably will be.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Uh yeah, as far as like not freshman young players,
- 33:26Speaker 4: two veteran players, two guys that have been there for
- 33:29Speaker 4: four years that are going to be.

- 36:04Speaker 2: last song I would always listen to. You had an order? Huh?
- 36:07Speaker 2: I had an order? Sure do.
- 36:09Speaker 4: I like to go through a wave of emotions like
- 36:12Speaker 4: slow build up, the build up and then kind of
- 36:16Speaker 4: a little WUSA moment before I went out.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I like it. I mean, did you have a list?
- 36:22Speaker 2: Did you have an order?
- 36:24Speaker 4: The song in the middle changed, but shadow of the
- 36:28Speaker 4: Sun to started and then something very slow that's still
- 36:35Speaker 4: pointing to you, so.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, still had it pulled up just not playing. Yeah,
- 36:46Speaker 2: I get it.
- 36:50Speaker 6: It's a remake it's a limp biscuit. It's fine, don't
- 36:53Speaker 6: worry about I'm gonna say anything. It's a little bit
- 36:55Speaker 6: like you had to get a little bit more juice
- 36:57Speaker 6: to it for a pre game walking into Alabama playing Florida,
- 37:04Speaker 6: you had to couldn't listen to the who got be
- 37:07Speaker 6: an olympiscuit? I feel that, y'all feel that? Anybody else
- 37:14Speaker 6: feel it?
- 37:15Speaker 2: I feel it, you're feeling it. I feel something ready
- 37:18Speaker 2: to hit somebody in the face. Oh wait, now was
- 37:20Speaker 2: a quarterback? I was ready.
- 37:21Speaker 6: I was ready to throw a pass, read a defense. Well, hey,
- 37:24Speaker 6: check with me. Alert, alert, y'all hit people in the face.
- 37:33Speaker 4: All right, now watch it's mister quarterback, sir, Now watch
- 37:36Speaker 4: this fan. All right, You're facing a Clemson defensive line.
- 37:40Speaker 4: It's got two All Americans. Pretty good. They've got two
- 37:45Speaker 4: first team All Conference type players, a linebacker and corner.
- 37:49Speaker 4: But more importantly, the defensive line, two All Americans, one inside,
- 37:53Speaker 4: one outside. If you have a new offensive line, you're
- 37:59Speaker 4: on the road playing against again, two guys that are
- 38:03Speaker 4: going to be first round picks in Pittsburgh next year
- 38:07Speaker 4: for the NFL Draft, What is your game plan looking
- 38:14Speaker 4: like that first fifteen that we talk about the first fifteen.
- 38:19Speaker 4: All right, So I'm gonna get my I'm gonna get
- 38:21Speaker 4: the ball in the hands by playmakers fast, We're gonna
- 38:25Speaker 4: get a gun. We are probably gonna do a little
- 38:28Speaker 4: play action fake, a little quick play action fake with
- 38:31Speaker 4: an RPO like a slot receiver into the flat route,
- 38:35Speaker 4: get the ball out, quick block them with the outside receiver.
- 38:38Speaker 6: Something like that. I don't want to do many outside
- 38:42Speaker 6: zones or outside runs. I want to probably keep it
- 38:44Speaker 6: inside the tackle box because it's game one with new
- 38:47Speaker 6: offensive linemen. You want to stay on schedule. Yeah, and
- 38:50Speaker 6: early in seasons there's so many holding penalties, especially when
- 38:54Speaker 6: you start getting outside the box.
- 38:56Speaker 2: So stay inside the tackle.
- 38:57Speaker 6: Box because the what you can't do, like when you
- 39:01Speaker 6: when you what you said, the start of emotions of
- 39:04Speaker 6: a game, got two All American defensive tackles, good linebackers.
- 39:08Speaker 6: You want to stay on schedule. You don't want to
- 39:10Speaker 6: be in a second and seventeen situation. You don't want
- 39:15Speaker 6: to be on a first and twenty situation. Like you
- 39:17Speaker 6: want to stay on schedule because when you're on schedule,
- 39:20Speaker 6: they have to think. Those guys have to think. They
- 39:23Speaker 6: can't just go straight line, right, they have to be
- 39:25Speaker 6: able to al right, is it gonna be run, it's
- 39:26Speaker 6: gonna be passing, gonna be play action, Is it gonna
- 39:28Speaker 6: be a screen?
- 39:29Speaker 2: Is it going to be a you know, a two
- 39:31Speaker 2: count screen? Is it like?
- 39:32Speaker 3: What?
- 39:32Speaker 2: Like?
- 39:32Speaker 6: There's so many options. They can't just play straight line
- 39:35Speaker 6: line up with their head down and go. So you
- 39:39Speaker 6: gotta be on schedule. So I'm avoiding those types of deals.
- 39:41Speaker 6: I'm avoiding a big loss on a sack early line.
- 39:44Speaker 6: So if I am gonna take a shot, it's going
- 39:46Speaker 6: to be a run, run, play action, fake type situation
- 39:49Speaker 6: on a normal down and distance. And then of course,
- 39:53Speaker 6: if you're getting a third and long situation, then that
- 39:55Speaker 6: kind of takes all the that takes all the skill
- 39:58Speaker 6: in preparation off the play calling. At that point then
- 40:00Speaker 6: it's just like all right, we got to go execute.
- 40:02Speaker 6: We know it's gonna be some sort of exotic front,
- 40:04Speaker 6: exotic pressure. Now we just gotta rely on Garrett. It's
- 40:08Speaker 6: myrins experience in our good receiving cores, but on our
- 40:12Speaker 6: normal D.
- 40:12Speaker 2: And D I look for quick passes.
- 40:15Speaker 6: I would look for probably some sort of quick screens,
- 40:20Speaker 6: play action, fake with a safe with a safe outlet
- 40:23Speaker 6: throw something like that, but death. Like my my initial
- 40:26Speaker 6: thing would be, let's not do any exotic sort of
- 40:29Speaker 6: get on the edge and beat them to the edge
- 40:31Speaker 6: type of runs because we saw it this past week
- 40:34Speaker 6: and so many holding calls and reps are gonna have
- 40:36Speaker 6: a quick demand. It's their first week too, Yeah, so
- 40:38Speaker 6: they're gonna have a little bit fun trigger Farmageddon game
- 40:42Speaker 6: for sure. So like as far as the run game, right,
- 40:46Speaker 6: just be diverse in your run game.
- 40:48Speaker 4: And then like for me, in the way that I
- 40:51Speaker 4: always kind of view it when you're you know, if
- 40:52Speaker 4: I'm going against Glen Dorsey, right, I'm not gonna run
- 40:57Speaker 4: right at Glen Dorsey. Now I can run to his side.
- 41:00Speaker 4: That's why I love like we talked about the other day,
- 41:02Speaker 4: like hey, let's get in pistol a little bit. Like
- 41:05Speaker 4: if we're gonna run zone, we can run inside and
- 41:07Speaker 4: outside zone, but let's get everybody. Let's get a movie
- 41:10Speaker 4: because like you said, I don't want them going north
- 41:12Speaker 4: and south. I want those first round defensive linemen going
- 41:16Speaker 4: east and west. So like, if I have a zone,
- 41:19Speaker 4: let me open, step, crossover, get the ball, stretch, stretch, stretch,
- 41:22Speaker 4: and then boom because they over pursue because look, when
- 41:24Speaker 4: you are a first round NFL defensive lineman, you want
- 41:28Speaker 4: to splash, you want to make plays. So when you
- 41:30Speaker 4: see the ball going there, you want to say, hey,
- 41:32Speaker 4: I'm fast, I'm quick. I want to get to that point,
- 41:34Speaker 4: and then you over pursue. And that's why I love
- 41:37Speaker 4: a good zone run out of pistol, out of the
- 41:39Speaker 4: old eye formation, which look, I know they're not gonna
- 41:40Speaker 4: run a ton of but because that backside was always there.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Because early in the game, early in the season, when
- 41:47Speaker 4: you're a marquee player, you over pursue. You're trying to
- 41:50Speaker 4: make the play, and then if you've got a running
- 41:51Speaker 4: back that can read it, boom, that backside cut is
- 41:54Speaker 4: right there. It's seventeen yards right, And so like I
- 41:57Speaker 4: want to see some diversity in the ring game where
- 42:00Speaker 4: you give the running back the option, because if you're.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Running inside zone out of gun we showed it the
- 42:05Speaker 2: other day, you don't have as many options.
- 42:07Speaker 4: You don't get going either, So like you're not stretching
- 42:11Speaker 4: the defense like we're talking about, because it is so tight,
- 42:14Speaker 4: it's so compact right there, because you don't have that
- 42:17Speaker 4: ability to bounce it inside and outside like you do.
- 42:20Speaker 4: So that's for me. Just get some diversity in the
- 42:22Speaker 4: run game. Get that really talented defensive line going eastern way,
- 42:25Speaker 4: and the looks that you give them too.
- 42:26Speaker 6: I mean, we're going to assume that the majority of
- 42:28Speaker 6: our offense is probably going to be eleven personnel some
- 42:30Speaker 6: sort some yeah, some form some uh form of three wide.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Yeah, and then it could be like technically twelve personnel,
- 42:37Speaker 4: but you're really running eleven plays with trids in there.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:40Speaker 6: And I want to see I want to see some
- 42:43Speaker 6: different formations. I want to see some shifts. I want
- 42:46Speaker 6: to see some motions. Make them think a little bit
- 42:48Speaker 6: before the snap, because defense, I mean's defensive guys they
- 42:51Speaker 6: can't think. So make them do something they're uncomfortable with,
- 42:54Speaker 6: which is thinking using their brains, and then then throw
- 42:58Speaker 6: them some different looks to the run where linebackers they
- 43:02Speaker 6: can't just te off. Wall those some different looks with
- 43:05Speaker 6: your tight end, let them lead block, get up into
- 43:09Speaker 6: the second level on the play side. Then let them
- 43:11Speaker 6: go cut back side, end off and let a tackle
- 43:14Speaker 6: go up to the to the second level. Get some
- 43:16Speaker 6: different looks to where those linebackers they have to read
- 43:20Speaker 6: through the quarterback and kind of read through the tight
- 43:22Speaker 6: end to the running back at that point. So the
- 43:24Speaker 6: more movement we can have, the more it kind of
- 43:26Speaker 6: gets their eyes moving left to right, gets their bodies
- 43:29Speaker 6: moving left to right. Yeah, you just want to avoid
- 43:31Speaker 6: them being able to go north south the entire time.
- 43:33Speaker 6: That is the last thing that you want to do
- 43:35Speaker 6: against a dominant defensive line. All right, we'll take a break,
- 43:38Speaker 6: continue breaking down LSU and Clemson. Of course, we got
- 43:40Speaker 6: New Orleans Saints Starr coming your way as well. Stay
- 43:43Speaker 6: locked in here to.
