- 0:01Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:03Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. Welcome to
- 0:10Speaker 1: Patriot's Unfiltered. You said there's a strong correlation between athletes
- 0:16Speaker 1: being born early in the year in athletic success. I
- 0:19Speaker 1: was born at the end of that June. It didn't
- 0:20Speaker 1: hurt me, but I think that's sad that. You know,
- 0:24Speaker 1: just wear your own things, then, you know, and wait
- 0:26Speaker 1: till you get a boyfriend, and then where is stuff?
- 0:28Speaker 1: What if we don't ever get one friend? But I
- 0:31Speaker 1: don't know, you're doing great. So we're gonna get um
- 0:36Speaker 1: soap with a slot and I'll bring it in when
- 0:38Speaker 1: I get it. That's the slot right there. Who doesn't
- 0:41Speaker 1: love a petting zuo? Yeah, I get pink eye. I
- 0:43Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know. Sheeper's really gross me out.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I got this weird kind of thing with sheep. Avoid
- 0:49Speaker 1: the Salga milk and you just very gradually put the
- 0:52Speaker 1: milk in. You eat soaked one, so you still got
- 0:54Speaker 1: the crispy and then you keep going on milks. No,
- 0:58Speaker 1: it's so much work, department. Yeah, start making a list
- 1:02Speaker 1: for Vegas, hopefully Cereal. This is Patriot's Unfiltered fueled by Duncan.
- 1:11Speaker 1: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:14Speaker 1: at Gillette Stadium, and we're here for the next two
- 1:17Speaker 1: hours talking Patriots or whatever. Douce, yeah, Deuce to Marrow,
- 1:21Speaker 1: Paul me, Matt the booth. And yesterday was a big
- 1:25Speaker 1: day and Patriots Land was I mean for the fans,
- 1:28Speaker 1: the reveal of the red throwback jersey finally. Yeah, I know,
- 1:33Speaker 1: so many people have been waiting so long for those. Um,
- 1:35Speaker 1: I just feel bad for Eric, I know, right, somebody
- 1:38Speaker 1: tweeted me that, of course that they wait until he leaves.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But somewhere, I'm sure he's he's happy. I'm sure he's
- 1:43Speaker 1: already probably set the background on his phone to one
- 1:46Speaker 1: of those pictures. Oh that's actually a good content idea.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Maybe we should make a wallpaper of the red jerseys. Sure,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I thought of great picks, a lot of detail picks. Yeah,
- 1:55Speaker 1: I mean the Twitter video of the you know, the review,
- 2:00Speaker 1: great job, over a million views. Mackenzie and the team
- 2:03Speaker 1: did a great job. People love the pat Patriot fred.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I showed my you know, I showed my kids. They
- 2:09Speaker 1: are familiar with Back to the Future a little bit,
- 2:10Speaker 1: but even them like big smiles on their face the
- 2:12Speaker 1: whole time, and I like Tip getting in at the end. Yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 1: I kind of like it was like a little Easter egg.
- 2:17Speaker 1: And I was like, if he is he like going back,
- 2:19Speaker 1: he's going back in time to like back to his
- 2:21Speaker 1: glory days, just to like lay out a couple more
- 2:22Speaker 1: guys one more time. Or is it a problem that
- 2:24Speaker 1: I haven't seen Back to the future? Probably? Yeah, come on,
- 2:30Speaker 1: and we didn't know it, I mean, but just Sarendipitously.
- 2:35Speaker 1: They announced that there's going to be a Back to
- 2:36Speaker 1: the Future musical on Broadway yesterday. Crazy, yeah, random, It
- 2:40Speaker 1: kind of lines up. I really liked Tom Brady's response
- 2:44Speaker 1: on Twitter that that was funny. That hits a liar, liar, Oh,
- 2:46Speaker 1: come on, I thought it was funny. Good job, Tom,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I appreciate it. I mean, I'm assuming he meant, like
- 2:51Speaker 1: all those are cool. I would have liked to have
- 2:53Speaker 1: war I That's what I'm assuming he meant. But but
- 2:56Speaker 1: he did. Yeah, that's what it was. Just making sure,
- 2:58Speaker 1: just making sure well he did wear him Yeah, right
- 3:01Speaker 1: a lot, mm hmm, well three times right, I mean
- 3:06Speaker 1: that's a lot to me for a throwback. Yeah. I
- 3:09Speaker 1: mean you can't just wear a throwback every I think
- 3:12Speaker 1: you do every game, but you wear him every game? No,
- 3:15Speaker 1: every year you should have a throwback game. Yeah yeah,
- 3:18Speaker 1: Now I would say that they also wore different throwback
- 3:20Speaker 1: like the OH nine throwbacks with like from the sixties
- 3:25Speaker 1: right right then the all white ones that they wore
- 3:27Speaker 1: like in was that in Denver that that wasn't a
- 3:30Speaker 1: throw that was a different that was a different thing.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Or the white throwbacks. They had like a white throwback too,
- 3:35Speaker 1: didn't they that season? I think they wore him in
- 3:37Speaker 1: Miami and Denver maybe maybe remember I think the OH
- 3:42Speaker 1: nine season that they wore the those were like six
- 3:45Speaker 1: Denver had on those like the stripes vertical horizontal McDaniels pump.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I remember. I think they had vertical stripes in those socks.
- 3:56Speaker 1: If I'm not, well, they were the brown and yellow. No, No,
- 3:59Speaker 1: they wouldn't know they were. They weren't vertical, they were horizontal.
- 4:02Speaker 1: They were loops around. Whatever they were they were. They
- 4:06Speaker 1: were nice to be. They looked like they were prisoners,
- 4:09Speaker 1: you know McDonald land. They were like Ronald McDonald prisoners.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I don't know they were. They didn't hurt them. Apparently
- 4:16Speaker 1: they were bad. Yeah, those those Broncos ones were bad
- 4:18Speaker 1: and as bad as the uniforms where the Patriots played wors.
- 4:20Speaker 1: But uh, it great, too great to see him back. Um.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I know everybody's been waiting at what was the helmet
- 4:26Speaker 1: thing though, because it was that? What was what held
- 4:28Speaker 1: it up for so long? Were that? Like I always
- 4:30Speaker 1: thought it was this weird rule that you could only
- 4:31Speaker 1: have one helmet, And I'm like, well, yeah, they changed
- 4:34Speaker 1: the NFL makes millions of thought you can't have two
- 4:36Speaker 1: helmets like they did change it. Other teams have done
- 4:40Speaker 1: it before, so I don't know like what the deal
- 4:42Speaker 1: was with us, if it was a cost thing or
- 4:46Speaker 1: if other teams had the same helmet, but they just
- 4:48Speaker 1: did the heat wrap you. That's what the I guess
- 4:52Speaker 1: it all depends on how you how you use the socks.
- 4:54Speaker 1: You could spin them around, make them do a little
- 4:56Speaker 1: really swirl, right. They were, as I said, verticals stripes, well,
- 5:01Speaker 1: like all stripes on socks are horizontal conventionally. Yeah, but
- 5:05Speaker 1: you can see right, like if we look at the
- 5:08Speaker 1: tape as as what you would say if this were
- 5:10Speaker 1: at all legible candy stripe, yes, yeah, but that was
- 5:14Speaker 1: because the guy twisted them around. Okay, yeah, yeah, and
- 5:17Speaker 1: uh and then a bunch of guys. It seems like
- 5:19Speaker 1: the final wave of as signings and know reports of
- 5:22Speaker 1: cold strange and and it looks like Thornton posted a
- 5:24Speaker 1: picture at him and so it sounds like patriots are
- 5:27Speaker 1: getting all that that stuff in order. And I believe
- 5:30Speaker 1: Bailey Zappy as well. Zappy's coming. So that's the last
- 5:32Speaker 1: three guys, so getting h You wonder if there's any
- 5:36Speaker 1: kind of little cap gymnastics that they're doing to open
- 5:39Speaker 1: a little bit of money up. Maybe. I know when
- 5:40Speaker 1: I saw Miguel speculating of some kind of conversion at
- 5:43Speaker 1: jude On salary to bonus or whatever whatever it was, Miguel,
- 5:48Speaker 1: you can email and tell me how it was wrong.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Right there. As I always say, UM, so happy to
- 5:53Speaker 1: have Miguel do that work because I don't want to
- 5:56Speaker 1: do it. Yeah, he's doing the work that no one
- 5:58Speaker 1: else wants to do, you know, But it's it's a needed,
- 6:02Speaker 1: a needed, yes it yeah, it is, yes, it is
- 6:05Speaker 1: ok for people like somebody talk about it a lot,
- 6:08Speaker 1: somebody helped to do the work. It's helpful. I just
- 6:11Speaker 1: think you'd go to a website and say how much
- 6:12Speaker 1: how much cap space the Patriots have? Oh, two million? Okay,
- 6:16Speaker 1: that's about right. Yeah, so, but I think his last
- 6:21Speaker 1: thing is right now, the Patriots have one hundred and
- 6:23Speaker 1: forty two thousand dollars in cap space. Yeah. I believe they.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I believe that they had to tweak a veteran's contract
- 6:33Speaker 1: to sign the last three guys. Okay, Paul, don't play
- 6:39Speaker 1: coy with us now, PLA. We'll talk to you afterwards.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I guess. But you figured there's something like that the
- 6:45Speaker 1: offensive line, all right, Um, so Jersey reveal housekeeping when
- 6:52Speaker 1: it comes to contracts. That's that's happening. Goodell taking the stand,
- 6:58Speaker 1: Goodell taking the stand. Yeah, okay, go ahead. It's just unbelievable.
- 7:06Speaker 1: You know, the whole thing with Portnoy that started trending.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I don't know how he could say with a straight face,
- 7:12Speaker 1: he's not aware of that issue, right right, the guy
- 7:16Speaker 1: that like stormed into your headquarters right after after what
- 7:19Speaker 1: which one was it to flake K I guess yeah,
- 7:22Speaker 1: but he was very careful not to say I'm not
- 7:24Speaker 1: He didn't say I'm not familiar with David Portnoy. You know,
- 7:27Speaker 1: he said I'm not familiar with the issue. We have
- 7:30Speaker 1: been a long time, which the issue that he was
- 7:33Speaker 1: I'm not familiar with. I guess he was banned, he
- 7:35Speaker 1: was banned from going to games Porto. Yeah, I'm not
- 7:40Speaker 1: familiar with that issue. So I didn't know that. I
- 7:42Speaker 1: did not know that before this, but I knew that
- 7:45Speaker 1: he had snuck into things, and you know, I mean,
- 7:47Speaker 1: he's been a thorn in the side's been at more
- 7:49Speaker 1: Patriots postgame parties than I have. Yeah, he's on the
- 7:53Speaker 1: sideline of the Celtics, you know, talking to Draymondry. I know. Yeah, Yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 1: he's right in the middle of it. I don't know
- 8:00Speaker 1: the rest of it though, Ish, I just have always
- 8:02Speaker 1: seen Goodell as he's the target, right, like they just
- 8:05Speaker 1: they roll him out. You take all the arrows, you
- 8:07Speaker 1: look like that ever your fault and that's what you
- 8:10Speaker 1: do when we pay you a ton of money to
- 8:12Speaker 1: do it. That's his job. But for thirty million a year,
- 8:14Speaker 1: I do that too, right, Yeah, Like I kind of
- 8:16Speaker 1: come off like a buffoon. I don't know, you know,
- 8:18Speaker 1: you just kind of play that off. But yeah, I
- 8:21Speaker 1: just I mean, but he was right, like they were saying,
- 8:23Speaker 1: you know, are you going to get rid of Daniel
- 8:25Speaker 1: Steiner And he's like, I don't have the authority to
- 8:27Speaker 1: do that. He doesn't, Right, that's up to the owners.
- 8:31Speaker 1: You know, I saw Ron Rivera's plea of I wasn't
- 8:35Speaker 1: here when these things were happening. We're trying desperately to
- 8:37Speaker 1: change the culture, but it just keeps happening with these guys.
- 8:40Speaker 1: You know, things keep coming out and coming out, and
- 8:43Speaker 1: you know, you wonder at what point the other owners
- 8:45Speaker 1: are going to be like, all right enough, like this
- 8:47Speaker 1: just well, you know the problem with that is everybody
- 8:52Speaker 1: knows everybody else's secrets. So you're gonna gonna you're gonna
- 8:57Speaker 1: cap me. I'm taking you down with me. Yeah. So
- 9:00Speaker 1: it's what were your thoughts on this is it's the
- 9:04Speaker 1: same organization, but it's completely unrelated to the to this case,
- 9:08Speaker 1: the Snyder case is just another animal all to itself.
- 9:14Speaker 1: But the recent thing with del Rio and Rivera with
- 9:18Speaker 1: Jack del Rio's Washington's defensive coordinator, and he had comments
- 9:23Speaker 1: about the you know, the the January sixth events and
- 9:26Speaker 1: you know, made light of them, and he was fined
- 9:29Speaker 1: one hundred thousand dollars, Like, I don't think that you
- 9:32Speaker 1: should be subject to fines for saying things that people
- 9:36Speaker 1: don't agree with. Yeah, I tend to agree with you,
- 9:38Speaker 1: Paul at the time I said that he's you know,
- 9:41Speaker 1: if you want to reprimand him behind the scenes and say,
- 9:45Speaker 1: you know that was a dumb thing to say, don't
- 9:47Speaker 1: say it again or whatever, but to find a guy
- 9:50Speaker 1: for it, I don't think it should have done that,
- 9:51Speaker 1: And it's going to be silly. Like to my follow up, now,
- 9:54Speaker 1: if if you wanted to sit there and say, I'm
- 9:58Speaker 1: Jack del Rio's boss. What he said I think is
- 10:01Speaker 1: going to be unpopular in the locker room and because
- 10:04Speaker 1: of that, I need to get rid of Jack del Rio.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I have no problem with that. Like, if you think
- 10:08Speaker 1: he can no longer do his job because the vast
- 10:12Speaker 1: majority of his players are going to disagree with what
- 10:14Speaker 1: he's saying, how can he possibly have any authority that
- 10:17Speaker 1: you made your own bed, you said something stupid, you
- 10:20Speaker 1: you lost you. But like you're telling me you think
- 10:23Speaker 1: he's good at what he does. He said something you
- 10:24Speaker 1: don't agree with, so I'm going to find him right, Like,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I don't get that now. Obviously, I don't think anybody
- 10:29Speaker 1: on this panel would sit here and say I agree
- 10:31Speaker 1: with Jack del unless unless trying to suggest that in
- 10:34Speaker 1: any way, unless there's a rule, a written rule in
- 10:37Speaker 1: Washington that says no public comments about okay, political stuff okay,
- 10:41Speaker 1: and if you do that, there's a fine. That absolutely
- 10:44Speaker 1: be a fine. My guest may not be my guests.
- 10:46Speaker 1: If he came out in chastised that he would say six,
- 10:49Speaker 1: he wouldn't have gotten fined. Right. That's that's That's the
- 10:52Speaker 1: only thing that I'm saying. Like, and again, this is
- 10:54Speaker 1: not about what you agree with or disagree with, right,
- 10:57Speaker 1: that's up to everybody individually. I think when it comes
- 11:00Speaker 1: down to those things. Similarly, you saw a lot of
- 11:03Speaker 1: that too with people who disagreed with making the vaccine mandatory.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I think that when you work for certain companies that
- 11:10Speaker 1: your words are representation of them, even if you didn't
- 11:14Speaker 1: say that, you were speaking on behalf of said company
- 11:16Speaker 1: or team. Yeah. So saw a lot of people find
- 11:19Speaker 1: or suspended that worked other places that said they didn't
- 11:24Speaker 1: agree with being forced to get the vaccine. Same thing, Well,
- 11:28Speaker 1: listen and copies. Why friend's point is, if there's a
- 11:32Speaker 1: rule that says you can't say anything along political lines,
- 11:35Speaker 1: then he deserves to be fined. Yeah, same thing, I
- 11:37Speaker 1: would agree. And you know, I hear people say, oh,
- 11:39Speaker 1: First Amendment. You know, you're allowed to say whatever you
- 11:42Speaker 1: are in a public form. But companies have the right
- 11:45Speaker 1: to monitor their employees, you know, like you know, Um,
- 11:50Speaker 1: they have that right, you know. And so I can't
- 11:52Speaker 1: go on patriots dot com and start right, I'll get
- 11:56Speaker 1: fired because even though you think it's free speak, no
- 12:00Speaker 1: it isn't. This I'm a representative of the company and
- 12:03Speaker 1: they have a right to, you know, to monitor that. Um.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I was just taking it back. I don't remember ever
- 12:10Speaker 1: an instance like this, and maybe I'm just not thinking
- 12:13Speaker 1: of it through the right avenue, but I never remember
- 12:15Speaker 1: an instance of a head coach finding another coach this publicly,
- 12:19Speaker 1: and that that was what was most striking to me,
- 12:21Speaker 1: was like, how do you turn the page on that one? Like, yeah,
- 12:24Speaker 1: I you know, like if you find him and do
- 12:26Speaker 1: it in private and that that's great and fine and
- 12:28Speaker 1: tell him to shut up, but like to make this
- 12:29Speaker 1: a good real or yeah, but now you're gonna go
- 12:34Speaker 1: into the trenches with him, not to mention that you
- 12:35Speaker 1: have a place that you're literally on the other side
- 12:37Speaker 1: of things being like we're really trying to change the
- 12:39Speaker 1: culture around here. You know, it's I mean, you got
- 12:41Speaker 1: you're dealing with it on both ends. I guess they're
- 12:43Speaker 1: trying to not do anything else in private because they've
- 12:47Speaker 1: seen how allegedly that has um. I mean, it's like
- 12:52Speaker 1: an over correction then, like yeah, you know it's it's
- 12:55Speaker 1: I mean, it's you know, the old saying of of
- 12:57Speaker 1: praise and public criticizing private. Like I just I feel
- 13:02Speaker 1: like an NFL team, especially with you know, the head
- 13:04Speaker 1: coach on down, you want to feel like everybody's pulling
- 13:06Speaker 1: in the same direction. I know that these are side
- 13:08Speaker 1: issues that don't but to come out like that, there's
- 13:12Speaker 1: gonna be some guys that that agree with what Jack
- 13:14Speaker 1: del Rio said in the locker room. It doesn't you know,
- 13:16Speaker 1: it's not going to be, oh, everyone's now against you, So,
- 13:18Speaker 1: you know, are you kind of fostering more riffs between
- 13:21Speaker 1: everybody within the team. I mean it's a hard thing.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And I love coaching, and I love how you manage
- 13:25Speaker 1: all that and you know, try to keep everybody in line,
- 13:27Speaker 1: but it's harder that you release a statement about your
- 13:30Speaker 1: own coach like that. Just that That's why I brought
- 13:34Speaker 1: it up, and I know it's you know, it's a
- 13:35Speaker 1: couple of weeks old at this point, but yeah, I
- 13:38Speaker 1: just thought it was strange, and I think Mike articulated
- 13:41Speaker 1: what the reasons I thought it was so strange, Like
- 13:43Speaker 1: I can't really recall a precedent of that, yeah, like
- 13:46Speaker 1: you're coming out. Yeah, I mean the first thing I
- 13:48Speaker 1: saw too was the like the statement, the long statement
- 13:51Speaker 1: about it, and it was like, what, like, what's going on? Like,
- 13:55Speaker 1: just as a point of I'm sure there were a
- 13:57Speaker 1: lot of people in the NFL and a lot of
- 13:59Speaker 1: people with San Francis go that when Colin Kaepernick was
- 14:01Speaker 1: making his comments about the police didn't agree with it, Right,
- 14:05Speaker 1: should they have been able to find him? I don't
- 14:07Speaker 1: think they should have been able to find him for that.
- 14:10Speaker 1: It would be the same thing, though, but it would
- 14:12Speaker 1: be similar. And I'm sure there were a lot of
- 14:14Speaker 1: people that thought that those were disrespectful comments to law enforcement, right,
- 14:19Speaker 1: But he shouldn't get fined for saying. I mean, you
- 14:22Speaker 1: can't encourage athletes and people in sports in general to
- 14:26Speaker 1: use their platform to try to, you know, create change, right,
- 14:31Speaker 1: and then find them when some of the change they're
- 14:34Speaker 1: trying to create doesn't agree with your agenda for change.
- 14:37Speaker 1: And I think that's why some people have told Lebron
- 14:41Speaker 1: James and others to stick to sports because they're like,
- 14:45Speaker 1: leave your thoughts out of it. But they should be
- 14:48Speaker 1: allowed to, right. And and I have no problem with
- 14:52Speaker 1: like someone outside of the realm saying, you know, wow,
- 14:55Speaker 1: well that's you know, you don't know, you're you're ill
- 14:58Speaker 1: informed on the like you when you do that, when
- 15:00Speaker 1: you step out, you should then therefore be subject to
- 15:04Speaker 1: blowback for it too. I mean that's part of what
- 15:07Speaker 1: the courage is, you know for a guy like Muhammad Ali, right,
- 15:10Speaker 1: you know, when he was he was willing to take
- 15:12Speaker 1: the consequence. And when he when he was a conscientious
- 15:14Speaker 1: objector like that was there was a lot of blowback
- 15:18Speaker 1: for that. But he was he was willing to sacrifice
- 15:21Speaker 1: his career at the time for what he believed in. Right.
- 15:24Speaker 1: That's part of you know, being strong and your convictions
- 15:27Speaker 1: and creating change. Right. But can you imagine if like
- 15:32Speaker 1: the WBA or whatever the associate would for to find him, right, Well,
- 15:37Speaker 1: he did louse, I mean when yeah, he lost his title,
- 15:40Speaker 1: but he ended up but he was gone for a
- 15:42Speaker 1: while right, you know, he couldn't couldn't fight, but that
- 15:45Speaker 1: was more of a legal issue than like, we don't
- 15:48Speaker 1: agree with what you said. Yeah, but I'm just saying, like,
- 15:50Speaker 1: as an example, when you when you do step out
- 15:53Speaker 1: and you put yourself out there, a lot of people
- 15:56Speaker 1: will agree with you when you'll get a lot of
- 15:57Speaker 1: paths in the back, but a lot of people won't
- 16:00Speaker 1: and you need to deal with it. That's yeah, that's
- 16:03Speaker 1: what it means to take a stand, you right. Yeah,
- 16:07Speaker 1: if it was if everyone agreed, it wouldn't be a stand.
- 16:10Speaker 1: You wouldn't need to take it. You know, if it
- 16:13Speaker 1: was easy, everybody would do it. Yeah, all right, five
- 16:16Speaker 1: five PATS five hundred web radio at Patriots dot com
- 16:21Speaker 1: is the email address? UM? What else? Anything else good
- 16:26Speaker 1: Patriots wise? Yeah? No, no, nothing really, uh, you know,
- 16:31Speaker 1: too exciting. I mean, I mean it does feel like
- 16:32Speaker 1: they're just getting kind of everything in order before before
- 16:36Speaker 1: the break. Yeah, I mean for the most part, everyone's
- 16:39Speaker 1: gone downstairs. In football, it seems like the parking lots
- 16:42Speaker 1: a little bit empty. Yeah. Well, we had an event
- 16:44Speaker 1: with the rookies were involved with UM earlier this week.
- 16:49Speaker 1: UM like a community relations event, and I think that
- 16:52Speaker 1: may have been that's the end of it. I think
- 16:54Speaker 1: that may have been it for the rookies because we
- 16:56Speaker 1: had seen we had talked about it on Tuesday, right, Mike,
- 16:58Speaker 1: and we saw Bailey's app be and yep, taekwon. Yeah.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I mean, but it's up to them now if they
- 17:03Speaker 1: want to guess most of these guys are done with
- 17:06Speaker 1: their physical portion of preparation for training camp, yep. Yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 1: And hopefully the coaches are taking a well deserved rest
- 17:15Speaker 1: because they're gonna need it. You want to make sure
- 17:16Speaker 1: a Bill doesn't get sick because usually October that annual cold.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I want to avoid that it's gonna bring the double
- 17:26Speaker 1: mask back again. You know that that seems Oh you know,
- 17:32Speaker 1: I hope we're passing. I do too. I still get
- 17:35Speaker 1: such I don't want to say PTSD because I feel
- 17:37Speaker 1: like that's insulting real PSD. But like you just just
- 17:41Speaker 1: seeing like glimpses of those games from twenty twenty or
- 17:44Speaker 1: everybody in the coaching staff and mega masks, and I'm like, oh,
- 17:47Speaker 1: like you're so right amount like that, like how you
- 17:50Speaker 1: like end up offending people who you know. Really the
- 17:54Speaker 1: first time I went on a plane, I think was
- 17:56Speaker 1: when we went to Philly last year and we had
- 17:58Speaker 1: to put that, like we had gone a long time
- 18:00Speaker 1: without masks. Yeah, and then we had to get on
- 18:02Speaker 1: a plane, we had to put a mask on. And
- 18:03Speaker 1: I remember tweeting out we got there that I felt
- 18:06Speaker 1: like a new frame when I took my mask off,
- 18:09Speaker 1: which was totally just like just a joke. I didn't
- 18:12Speaker 1: need it. I got like seven thousand people like, oh,
- 18:16Speaker 1: I'm sure it was really hard for that our flight.
- 18:19Speaker 1: All right, all right, I deserve that, like you don't
- 18:21Speaker 1: have a sense of humor. All right, Okay, it's all right.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I was just joking. I wasn't equating like real life,
- 18:27Speaker 1: like prison, yeah, with having a mask on for an hour.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Lots of people wear masks. I get it. I know
- 18:33Speaker 1: it was. I mean it's it's you know, it's not
- 18:35Speaker 1: even just a mask. It's just that whole season and
- 18:38Speaker 1: everything that was involved with that, and just a constant
- 18:40Speaker 1: like somebody got it? Do I got it? Am I
- 18:42Speaker 1: gonna get it? I Mean there's still some of that
- 18:44Speaker 1: going on to some degree. Now. It's like every right
- 18:46Speaker 1: now was really sick. But she's she's negative, like she
- 18:50Speaker 1: she's a nurse something else she can't go back to work. Yeah,
- 18:53Speaker 1: but like every week we get tested and it was
- 18:55Speaker 1: like Russian roulette, right, it was just the week, Well
- 18:57Speaker 1: you had the one where I had the false positive
- 18:59Speaker 1: where I got like pulled off a radio likely needs
- 19:02Speaker 1: you to call it right now, kicked me out of
- 19:04Speaker 1: the building, and you know. And then well we got
- 19:05Speaker 1: back from Indie one week and it was a bunch
- 19:09Speaker 1: of us and we went go the trailer and we
- 19:11Speaker 1: all tested positive, including the people who worked in the
- 19:15Speaker 1: trailer who earlier that day had tested negative. And we're like,
- 19:18Speaker 1: wait a minute, this can't be right. So they they
- 19:21Speaker 1: retested us all, they sent all the results to this
- 19:24Speaker 1: other or they did different types of tests, and we
- 19:26Speaker 1: were all negative. Thank god. So I mean a credit
- 19:30Speaker 1: to us because we did shows all through. I mean,
- 19:32Speaker 1: you know, we came back at some point. I don't
- 19:34Speaker 1: remember when we actually got back to in person show us.
- 19:36Speaker 1: But we've never none of us have ever officially gotten
- 19:38Speaker 1: it right, Like, as far as I know, I probably have,
- 19:43Speaker 1: you have. I'm on even getting COVID cocky a little
- 19:46Speaker 1: bit of like you know, you see those like reports
- 19:47Speaker 1: like why haven't some people gotten COVID? Well, I was
- 19:51Speaker 1: talking to somebody. I was talking to somebody who works
- 19:54Speaker 1: in China today, and you know, they're having all kinds
- 19:57Speaker 1: of trouble because it's and they have like a zero
- 20:01Speaker 1: tolerance pot. They shut everything down. But they're trying to
- 20:04Speaker 1: get the WHO, the World Health Organization to reclassify this
- 20:08Speaker 1: amicron strain as not COVID because everyone's getting it. It's
- 20:13Speaker 1: highly transmissible, but they're asymptomatic. It's not. So they're trying
- 20:17Speaker 1: to reclassify that as not COVID so that when it happens,
- 20:21Speaker 1: you know, you don't have to shut everything down, you
- 20:23Speaker 1: don't have to go through the COVID guidelines and protocols. Yeah. Well,
- 20:26Speaker 1: how many times over the last two years I felt
- 20:28Speaker 1: like I'm definitely getting it after this, like some of
- 20:31Speaker 1: r or something that I went, like, I reft a
- 20:33Speaker 1: hockey tournament and you know, it's like people I've been
- 20:35Speaker 1: I flew in from Chicago, I flew in from Florida,
- 20:37Speaker 1: like just people from all over the country. Anytime you
- 20:39Speaker 1: get on a plane even all and I'm like, oh,
- 20:41Speaker 1: I'm definitely getting at this weekend. You get on a
- 20:44Speaker 1: plane and you get off, you just don't feel right. Yeah,
- 20:47Speaker 1: you know. Well then the allergies too, that's at least,
- 20:49Speaker 1: like you hear about people getting it now and often
- 20:52Speaker 1: they have fevers and feel sick and so, and like
- 20:55Speaker 1: I would know you wouldn't just get like a little
- 20:58Speaker 1: throat scratch. But I mean, but maybe I don't know.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I just I feel at this point that's the worst
- 21:03Speaker 1: part about COVID is like when I had it, I
- 21:06Speaker 1: really would not have known I had it until, like
- 21:09Speaker 1: unless we tested, because honestly, it was just congestion. And
- 21:12Speaker 1: I have congestion all the time. I have congestion right now.
- 21:15Speaker 1: So it's like if you have allergies, if you have
- 21:18Speaker 1: bad allergies, like are you just supposed to stay home
- 21:21Speaker 1: every day? Right right? Yeah? Oh well I lost my
- 21:24Speaker 1: voice a couple of weeks ago on the radiation, the
- 21:26Speaker 1: same thing, Like what was that. I don't know, Yeah, yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 1: I think it was allergies. But yeah, so knock on wood. Yeah,
- 21:33Speaker 1: so here we go, you're you're three. But yeah, I
- 21:36Speaker 1: mean it sounds like everything's aiming back to normal. Back
- 21:38Speaker 1: in the locker room. Yeah, all the all the protocols
- 21:41Speaker 1: we got verification of that. There are no more COVID protocols.
- 21:45Speaker 1: In the NFL. Is this what happened when like the
- 21:48Speaker 1: flu first became a thing. I think it did back
- 21:51Speaker 1: in a yeah, the Spanish, Well yeah that's what this
- 21:56Speaker 1: was compared to. Yeah, so like you know, they came
- 21:58Speaker 1: up with flu vaccines. Yeah yeah, people were dying. Yeah yeah, evolves,
- 22:03Speaker 1: Well you survived. I mean you see those old pictures
- 22:05Speaker 1: of like the doctors and they had those beaks, like
- 22:09Speaker 1: the masks were literally looked like bird beaks. Yeah, and
- 22:12Speaker 1: it was scary, like the pictures that you saw. It
- 22:15Speaker 1: was even weird a picture picture I saw of a
- 22:17Speaker 1: sporting event where everybody had masks on it, and you're
- 22:19Speaker 1: like that was bizarre to me that like, wow, this
- 22:22Speaker 1: has happened before, like people had to do this before,
- 22:24Speaker 1: even back then. Um, but hopefully hopefully this is it.
- 22:29Speaker 1: You know, it'll happen again. It just hopefully not in
- 22:32Speaker 1: our lifetime. Yeah yeah, I mean, let someone else deal
- 22:35Speaker 1: with it. Fred I like it. We think we're invincible,
- 22:38Speaker 1: but we are far from it. That's the truth. Whether
- 22:41Speaker 1: it's an asteroid or something huge or something molecular, we're
- 22:46Speaker 1: gonna get screwed eventually, probably true. All right. Eight's ticket
- 22:52Speaker 1: Hotline eight five five pats five hundred. Um, let's go
- 22:56Speaker 1: to the phone and see what people are thinking about.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Jim is in Lemonster. What's up, Jim Tred Your soap
- 23:05Speaker 1: will be there on Monday. Oh you're you're the guy. Okay,
- 23:08Speaker 1: thank you. I'm the guy. I'm the soap guy. And
- 23:11Speaker 1: you said you've been using it for years? Yes, yes, okay,
- 23:17Speaker 1: Actually you and Paul might actually remember the name where
- 23:22Speaker 1: I got it. You remember the old damn Way Corporation. Sure, yea.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I buy their soap and their laundry products. And I
- 23:32Speaker 1: after the resurgence of the soap with the Slot conversation,
- 23:36Speaker 1: I figured, hey, I'll send some to Fred Nice and
- 23:40Speaker 1: it works, right, zero soap Way. Yeah, that's the goal, right,
- 23:43Speaker 1: zero soap soap? Yeah, none absolutely. As you saw the picture,
- 23:48Speaker 1: it was quote unquote in action, so it works. So yeah, okay, excellent.
- 23:55Speaker 1: And to refresh your memory, I was in the studio
- 23:59Speaker 1: back in eighteen. I don't know if you remember. I
- 24:01Speaker 1: was in at a trade show at the stadium and
- 24:05Speaker 1: uh I reached out to Kevin Collins as the time
- 24:08Speaker 1: and offered you guys lunch. I was there, and I
- 24:11Speaker 1: came down and said with you Andy Eric and Paul.
- 24:15Speaker 1: I vaguely remember it. Um, you know more of the
- 24:19Speaker 1: lunch than you. But of course problem, I get it.
- 24:24Speaker 1: But I can't wait to get the soap. That's that's awesome,
- 24:30Speaker 1: all right, Well, let me know what you think. Excited
- 24:32Speaker 1: for the season and uh yeah, excited that the throwbacks
- 24:36Speaker 1: are coming back. I'm glad to see that. Yeah, that's cool.
- 24:38Speaker 1: If you're ever back in town, let me know, yeah,
- 24:41Speaker 1: I definitely will. Now you're not a fan of the
- 24:44Speaker 1: of the throwbacks, are you know? Patriot? Let yeah, let
- 24:48Speaker 1: me be clear. I love the red jersey. I would
- 24:51Speaker 1: love to have as an alternate, not just a throwback,
- 24:54Speaker 1: but an alternate red jersey with a white helmet with
- 24:57Speaker 1: the current Elvis logo. I was never a fan of
- 25:00Speaker 1: the pat Patriot logo itself when they were at it
- 25:04Speaker 1: or now. I'm not gonna you know now say oh no,
- 25:06Speaker 1: I loved it. I hated it back then. I thought
- 25:09Speaker 1: it was the NFL's worst logo cartoony. Yeah, let me
- 25:13Speaker 1: ask you this, Okay, wouldn't you like to see them
- 25:16Speaker 1: win a championship in those uniforms to kind of exercise
- 25:20Speaker 1: the demons from all of those bad years? No, I
- 25:23Speaker 1: don't think anything will ever exercise nineteen eighty five. Well
- 25:28Speaker 1: you got a valid point there, Yeah, yeah, all right,
- 25:32Speaker 1: thanks you for the season. Thanks for the time, Fred,
- 25:35Speaker 1: Thanks Jim, Thanks Jim, Jim, thanks for the SuDS. If
- 25:39Speaker 1: they got all the way to the Super Bowl and
- 25:40Speaker 1: then busted those uniforms out, I would not I would
- 25:42Speaker 1: be freaking out. Well, I think he's get them out
- 25:47Speaker 1: if they wore them for a season Bowl and a
- 25:49Speaker 1: super Bowl. But I just like, how the fact, you know, like,
- 25:51Speaker 1: don't you think they should wear those so they can
- 25:53Speaker 1: win a super Bowl? And those exercise the deep. I'd
- 25:55Speaker 1: love to just win a Super I never thought of that, Like,
- 25:57Speaker 1: why don't we just win a super Bowl? Yeah, I
- 25:59Speaker 1: would love it if they want a super Bowl, Like,
- 26:01Speaker 1: I don't care what they're wearing. Yeah. Like So to clarify,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I love the red jersey, you know, and I would
- 26:09Speaker 1: say red jersey, the white pants, white helmet with the
- 26:13Speaker 1: current Elvis logo as an alternate kit. It's as they
- 26:17Speaker 1: call it. I love it, and I love it. I
- 26:19Speaker 1: don't understand and I understand what you're saying about the
- 26:21Speaker 1: white helmet even with the current helmet. I don't understand
- 26:24Speaker 1: why they could never I don't like the silver in
- 26:26Speaker 1: the red. I don't know why they could never wear
- 26:27Speaker 1: the ray. I think the I mean, yeah, the helmet
- 26:31Speaker 1: is what it is. I do like the white helmet
- 26:33Speaker 1: better than the silver one. But I kind of agree
- 26:35Speaker 1: with you. I always thought of pat Patriot's cartoony yeah. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:38Speaker 1: it's a guy taking a dump. Yeah, you know, but
- 26:41Speaker 1: I do like that better than the current one. Yeah. See,
- 26:45Speaker 1: like you know, Patriots are ingrained in me now, but
- 26:49Speaker 1: like at the time, like I didn't even like having
- 26:51Speaker 1: a human as a mascot, you know, like I know,
- 26:56Speaker 1: you know, Purdue has the Boiling Makers and it's the
- 26:58Speaker 1: guy and the Brican and Notre Dame and everything like that.
- 27:02Speaker 1: But I think I don't think mascots should be human.
- 27:06Speaker 1: You never heard I No, I haven't heard this one.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I mean I have my maskot on, like, I like
- 27:10Speaker 1: plural ones, I don't like the singular. I'm not a
- 27:12Speaker 1: big fan of the spl But we're getting a new
- 27:13Speaker 1: territory now. I've never thought about it. But yeah, like
- 27:16Speaker 1: some weird mascots out here, yeah, human like the Demon Deacon.
- 27:22Speaker 1: That's weird. Yeah. Yeah, Also there's another one. That's one
- 27:27Speaker 1: up here that's really weird. Um is it Providence? That's weird. Yeah,
- 27:32Speaker 1: it gets they're human too, it's religious, it is. Yeah,
- 27:35Speaker 1: that's weird. Or actually the worst is Western Kentucky. What
- 27:40Speaker 1: is a hilltoppers? Hilltoppers? Yeah, I think that's where the
- 27:42Speaker 1: school is, right on top of the hill. It's like
- 27:44Speaker 1: a red blob with eyes. Yeah, um weird, but like, yeah,
- 27:49Speaker 1: how do you make a mascot out of that? What's
- 27:51Speaker 1: their mascot? What's a what is it a? Hell? It's
- 27:55Speaker 1: literally this like red blob with eyeballs, so that it's
- 28:00Speaker 1: so weird. Yeah, it's different times. We didn't didn't we
- 28:04Speaker 1: draft someone from Western Kentucky? Yeah, Bailey Zappy Yeah. I
- 28:07Speaker 1: asked him what is the Hilltopper? When he came in
- 28:10Speaker 1: for his interview, I was like, what is that? What
- 28:11Speaker 1: do you say? He was like a hill? He didn't
- 28:16Speaker 1: know a hill. He just plays someone that lives on
- 28:19Speaker 1: top of a hill. Simpler times simpler the red sauce
- 28:23Speaker 1: and then but tomaraw, what do you think of like
- 28:24Speaker 1: the singular name of a team, like the thunder or
- 28:28Speaker 1: the lightning, you know, like it's not plural, you know, Yeah,
- 28:33Speaker 1: that I hate that. He or what are your thoughts
- 28:36Speaker 1: on the teams that have like a lady version of
- 28:42Speaker 1: their names? That annoys me too. There are some teams
- 28:45Speaker 1: that are like I'm trying to think of the lady Valls. Yeah,
- 28:48Speaker 1: like the school is the volunteers. I think, especially in
- 28:53Speaker 1: this day and age, we should all be one, right,
- 28:55Speaker 1: Like why do we have to differentiates? Right? You can't
- 29:00Speaker 1: do that, dude, you had it, you away for two
- 29:02Speaker 1: hundred years. Dudes, like, no, but do you not like
- 29:07Speaker 1: that tomorrow? It's weird. Yeah, I think it's weird too.
- 29:09Speaker 1: My personal favorite for that is USC. Yeah, Trojans, no, no, no.
- 29:15Speaker 1: The women of Troy women, Well, that's kind of cool though.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I like that. It's their own thing. I don't know
- 29:23Speaker 1: if they still do that. I remember Cheryl Miller, Reggie
- 29:26Speaker 1: Miller's sister. Yeah, she won like eight thousand national chip.
- 29:28Speaker 1: She was the greatest women's basketball player, like ever. Yeah,
- 29:31Speaker 1: and she when she was at USC and they were
- 29:33Speaker 1: winning national championships. It was the women of Troy. That's
- 29:36Speaker 1: what they yes. To me, that's their own thing. I
- 29:38Speaker 1: like that. Yeah, it's not like the men of Troy.
- 29:41Speaker 1: And then these are the women of Troy. The men
- 29:43Speaker 1: are the Trojans and this is like their own thing. Yeah,
- 29:47Speaker 1: I like that. There's uh so Walpole. They were the
- 29:49Speaker 1: Rebels for a long time, which which they had changed
- 29:52Speaker 1: recently for obvious reasons. My mom stars and bars at
- 29:57Speaker 1: the field. Yes, frowned upon they did, you know. I mean,
- 30:01Speaker 1: my thing was like, why don't you just change it
- 30:03Speaker 1: to Star Wars. Font just be the Star Wars Rebels
- 30:05Speaker 1: and then no one will care. But um, but they,
- 30:07Speaker 1: but their women's field hockey team are called the Porkers
- 30:10Speaker 1: and they have forever been the Porkers, And I'm like
- 30:12Speaker 1: that it seems derogatory. They love it, though. I guess
- 30:15Speaker 1: they were named at at a hockey or a field
- 30:17Speaker 1: hockey camp, you know, I don't. I'm not familiar with
- 30:20Speaker 1: the origins, but I know that for as long as
- 30:22Speaker 1: I was covering high school sports, their field hockey team
- 30:25Speaker 1: was always good and they were known as the Porkers.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I always thought it was something that they dubbed themselves
- 30:30Speaker 1: though for some kind of meeting. I guess yeah, And
- 30:32Speaker 1: I don't even think it was initially, you know, like
- 30:35Speaker 1: you might think like a bunch of fat kids, you know,
- 30:37Speaker 1: like that's like what the director would could be a
- 30:41Speaker 1: couple of ways you could go with this, but anyway, right,
- 30:44Speaker 1: you know, but I guess they got it at a
- 30:45Speaker 1: camp and it was almost like complimentary initially. I don't
- 30:48Speaker 1: know if there's probably a Wallpole person out there, but
- 30:50Speaker 1: Arch Manning committing to Texas, I didn't see that. Jeez.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I saw him connect. I saw him committing to everywhere.
- 30:55Speaker 1: I saw rumors of him going Alabama, Texas. Big climb,
- 31:01Speaker 1: big climb for him. So they call him arch Arch. Yeah,
- 31:05Speaker 1: and is that Cooper's kid? I believe it's Cooper's son. Yes,
- 31:08Speaker 1: So somehow he'll he'll get his day. Yeah, let's go
- 31:14Speaker 1: to the phones. Back to the phones. Christians in la Hey, Christian, Hey, guys,
- 31:20Speaker 1: Happy Thursday to you. And I am still a guy
- 31:23Speaker 1: that the throwback jerseys or backs to me, they have
- 31:27Speaker 1: particular meaning because they are part and powerful with how
- 31:32Speaker 1: I became a Patriots fan back when I was ten
- 31:36Speaker 1: years old in nineteen seventy eight. It was about August,
- 31:39Speaker 1: I believe there was a a pre teason game and
- 31:44Speaker 1: um Steve Grogan, who was still my all time favorite
- 31:47Speaker 1: Pagers quarterback. You guys didn't disparage him, but we did
- 31:50Speaker 1: get to a super Bowl with them. Yeah, you ran
- 31:53Speaker 1: into a buzz stab, but it wasn't grow anyway. It's
- 31:56Speaker 1: back back to the a throwback. It was a game
- 32:00Speaker 1: that Jack Kadum hit Daryl Stingley right Grogan through a
- 32:05Speaker 1: pass of the middle as they reached out for it
- 32:07Speaker 1: and Tatum. Tatum's shoulder I believe hit his helmet. Back
- 32:12Speaker 1: then it was still legal, and in the confusion afterwards,
- 32:16Speaker 1: they did a throw to the commercial whatever was and
- 32:19Speaker 1: they put the two helmets face mask to face mask,
- 32:22Speaker 1: and I remember, I know you think it was cartoonish,
- 32:25Speaker 1: but I remember seeing pat Patriots there and as a
- 32:30Speaker 1: ten year old kid, maybe it was cartoonish. I became
- 32:32Speaker 1: enthralled with that that image of the guy the three
- 32:34Speaker 1: points Stan. You know, it looked really tough to me
- 32:37Speaker 1: at least, And that's how I became a Patriots fan.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I was watching that game, I was like, I liked it,
- 32:41Speaker 1: and I spoke to the Patriots. I've been a Patriots
- 32:43Speaker 1: fan everything, okay, And that's why the throwbacks have meaning different,
- 32:48Speaker 1: different strokes for different folks. And I personally loved those
- 32:51Speaker 1: uniforms that he was talking about that's the uniform. I
- 32:53Speaker 1: wish that they would use a throwback subtle changes, but
- 32:56Speaker 1: I mean it does have some kid appeal to that
- 32:58Speaker 1: that thanks you Christian, that logo I think, I mean,
- 33:01Speaker 1: we said it's cartoony, but see I've seen variations that
- 33:04Speaker 1: logo that I like better, Like it's even a more
- 33:07Speaker 1: burly guy and he's like, oh, you know, I didn't
- 33:10Speaker 1: know that. Yeah, well it's not a I don't think
- 33:12Speaker 1: it's an official Patriots version, but I've seen cartoons of
- 33:16Speaker 1: that guy that it's more like, you know, rugged, and yeah, yeah,
- 33:20Speaker 1: I definitely think it'll be really cool to see. I
- 33:22Speaker 1: felt the same way when they twitched the uniforms a
- 33:24Speaker 1: couple of years ago, you know, finally see them back
- 33:26Speaker 1: on the field. But you know, I can't help but
- 33:28Speaker 1: shake a little bit of the feeling of, you know,
- 33:30Speaker 1: we're a little bit out of crossroads right now with
- 33:32Speaker 1: the Patriots, and really most of my memories of them
- 33:34Speaker 1: and the uniforms getting trounced. So you know, I hope
- 33:38Speaker 1: they don't make the switch to these uniforms that that
- 33:40Speaker 1: it's like, oh god, this looks like the eighties Patriots
- 33:42Speaker 1: right here, Like in these red uniforms, you know, like
- 33:44Speaker 1: hopefully they can they can win those games and get
- 33:47Speaker 1: you know, it's so funny, you know. You know, there
- 33:50Speaker 1: were literally thousands and thousands of comments from the video
- 33:54Speaker 1: and all the content that we produced yesterday, and a
- 33:58Speaker 1: lot of them, would you know that eighties uniform the
- 34:02Speaker 1: Royal blue, Well, bring these back. It's like whatever, it's
- 34:05Speaker 1: not in you know, they want back, you know. But
- 34:08Speaker 1: at the time, people literally made fun of those uniforms. Oh,
- 34:12Speaker 1: I like those the least. Yeah, with the big elvis
- 34:14Speaker 1: and I don't even think they had numbers on the shoulders.
- 34:17Speaker 1: The number on the shoulder in ninety four. I like
- 34:19Speaker 1: the elvis. The big elvis on the shoulder is hideous. Yeah,
- 34:23Speaker 1: that's the worst univers Those are the starter days, right,
- 34:25Speaker 1: those are the worst uniforms where it was like soccer
- 34:27Speaker 1: jersey almost like yeah, it kind of panels panels that
- 34:31Speaker 1: went down. Yeah, bad, bad bad, It's bad bad. But
- 34:34Speaker 1: I think the Dynasty ones have to come back at
- 34:36Speaker 1: some point. That's I think those have to be back
- 34:40Speaker 1: in the rotation at some point because they won six
- 34:42Speaker 1: Super Bowls on them that yeah, I mean, you can't
- 34:44Speaker 1: argue with the success in them. I just don't like them.
- 34:46Speaker 1: What are the Dynasty ones just silver pants blue? Just yeah,
- 34:50Speaker 1: even just bring the blue, the old the you know
- 34:52Speaker 1: the classics that from two thousand to is that two
- 34:55Speaker 1: thousands when they switchine two thousand, Yeah, two thousand was
- 34:58Speaker 1: the first year or the to twenty nineteen, right, so yeah,
- 35:02Speaker 1: so we just changed him. Yeah, I'd like to see
- 35:05Speaker 1: this back. Um, Dwayne's in Boston. Hey, Dwayne here, you guys. Hey,
- 35:12Speaker 1: I have a question for you. Um, I'm a little
- 35:15Speaker 1: bit concerned about mac jones arm strength. No, that's been
- 35:18Speaker 1: a topic of conversation, but I wasn't asking questions a
- 35:21Speaker 1: little bit different. Um, whenever I whenever I remember Mac
- 35:27Speaker 1: Jones storing any past that was deeper than thirty thirty yards,
- 35:31Speaker 1: it looked like, I mean, looked like he was throwing
- 35:34Speaker 1: shot put, like the ball would just go up in
- 35:36Speaker 1: the air like a parabola. One, have you seen any
- 35:40Speaker 1: evidence that his harm has more more velocity in his throws?
- 35:45Speaker 1: And Two? Can you think of any uh, any quarterback
- 35:50Speaker 1: ever that made a substantial improvement in arm strength from
- 35:54Speaker 1: one year to the next. Yes, I think Tom Brady
- 35:57Speaker 1: did I think Tom Brady increased his You know, it's incremental.
- 36:04Speaker 1: We talked about this early when we first read you know,
- 36:06Speaker 1: after that first year from Matt, Kenny improved, Yes, incrementally.
- 36:10Speaker 1: He's not he's not going to go from a knuckleball
- 36:12Speaker 1: pitcher to Nolan Ryan. You know, that's not going to happen.
- 36:15Speaker 1: But he can increase it incrementally where it makes a
- 36:18Speaker 1: little bit of a difference. And I think he's already
- 36:20Speaker 1: started doing that working with Tom House on his technique,
- 36:23Speaker 1: and Brady did the same thing. He you know, he
- 36:26Speaker 1: wanted to and you know he didn't come into the
- 36:28Speaker 1: league with bad arm strength, but he increased it a
- 36:31Speaker 1: little bit. Well for sure. I mean you get stronger
- 36:33Speaker 1: and your mechanics get yeah, better, but more efficient. I
- 36:37Speaker 1: can't say that. I sat out there at OTAs and
- 36:39Speaker 1: was like, whoa, it's really popping out of his hands.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Like he does always look fine to me. It's never
- 36:43Speaker 1: you know, they're certainly throws last year where you're like,
- 36:45Speaker 1: it just didn't quite get there. But I think he
- 36:48Speaker 1: has the smarts to overcome it. I think it'll always
- 36:51Speaker 1: maybe be you know, he's not going to be justin
- 36:53Speaker 1: Herbert down the field ever, but I think he can
- 36:55Speaker 1: still win football games. He'll never have a cannon. Yeah,
- 36:58Speaker 1: and Dwayne brings it up. I think the way he
- 37:00Speaker 1: explained it was the right way. Like he throws the
- 37:03Speaker 1: ball downfield, fine, Like he gets it downfield just like
- 37:07Speaker 1: everybody else. It's the amount of time it takes. And
- 37:09Speaker 1: I think that's where the smarts gets you know less,
- 37:13Speaker 1: you know less in importance because and I give you
- 37:17Speaker 1: the I know the greatest interception in the history of
- 37:20Speaker 1: football that happened in the playoff game. Because when you
- 37:24Speaker 1: can be as smart as you want, when you have
- 37:25Speaker 1: to throw the ball fifty yards and it takes you
- 37:28Speaker 1: a ball, you know, maybe three seconds longer to get
- 37:30Speaker 1: there than someone else is it gives the safety three
- 37:33Speaker 1: more seconds to go over and make a play, right,
- 37:35Speaker 1: And I think it was it was Micah Hyde, right,
- 37:37Speaker 1: not Jordan Poyer. I always get them confused. Hide the
- 37:40Speaker 1: one that made the pick. Right. Yeah, it was a
- 37:42Speaker 1: great play by Hide to get over there in time.
- 37:44Speaker 1: But the ball was slightly late and in a little underthrown.
- 37:48Speaker 1: But well remember in in um the Super Bowl we
- 37:52Speaker 1: won against the Rams in eighteen. Remember that ball that
- 37:56Speaker 1: who go just he had the guy I'd open the
- 38:00Speaker 1: ends on the ball just took too long to get
- 38:02Speaker 1: there and it allowed mccordy was it over it to
- 38:06Speaker 1: break it up. I'll tell you not bad. I sometimes
- 38:11Speaker 1: I had most of that. I remember some things. You know. Yeah,
- 38:15Speaker 1: I think he has enough, but I think to expect
- 38:17Speaker 1: it to all of a sudden be you know, this
- 38:20Speaker 1: this crazy, But that's not going to be what his
- 38:22Speaker 1: strengths are. But but you know, beyond the mechanics and
- 38:25Speaker 1: working on strength and all that, I think one thing
- 38:27Speaker 1: that will help is his confidence. It's just getting rid
- 38:31Speaker 1: of it quicker, yeah, you know, and anticipating it and
- 38:34Speaker 1: being sure about it. And I think, you know, I
- 38:36Speaker 1: think there were times, especially you know, those sideline passes
- 38:41Speaker 1: where you know he's those are the ones I think
- 38:44Speaker 1: the strength shows. Yeah, I don't think it shows as
- 38:46Speaker 1: much on a fifty yard pass as it does on
- 38:48Speaker 1: a fifteen yard out small window. Well see, I mean,
- 38:53Speaker 1: if we if we're going by just what we started
- 38:55Speaker 1: in the spring, they threw the ball downfield a lot.
- 38:57Speaker 1: I don't know if that was just to sort of unveiling,
- 39:00Speaker 1: you know, see how much more he could do, or
- 39:03Speaker 1: if that's something they want to do more of, you know,
- 39:05Speaker 1: in in twenty two. Then they did. They were not
- 39:07Speaker 1: effective throwing the ball down the field last year. I
- 39:10Speaker 1: mean that's fact. I answer your question, Dwayne, sort of.
- 39:16Speaker 1: I was a little let down by the second, by
- 39:18Speaker 1: the second part of the question because Tom Brady you
- 39:22Speaker 1: could use him as an example to improve in anything. Mean,
- 39:25Speaker 1: he went from I mean people remember seeing him on
- 39:28Speaker 1: his draft day to what he is now. Yeah, any
- 39:31Speaker 1: other quarterbacks that, yeah, I haven't noticed like an incredible
- 39:36Speaker 1: you know to use you I think you said a
- 39:38Speaker 1: significant improvement in arm strength. I can't really think of
- 39:41Speaker 1: a guy who I watched throw one year and then
- 39:45Speaker 1: watch throw later when his career was like night and day,
- 39:47Speaker 1: like right. I agree with Fred. I think there was
- 39:49Speaker 1: an incremental change in Brady, you know, just from getting
- 39:52Speaker 1: stronger and you know, learning nutrition at the NFL level,
- 39:57Speaker 1: you get, you get stronger, and he probably in creased
- 40:00Speaker 1: his velocity a little bit. No question. I mean how
- 40:03Speaker 1: many throws in this I mean I'm not trying to
- 40:05Speaker 1: minimize it, but realistically, like how many throws over the
- 40:08Speaker 1: course of a game? Where is it you really need
- 40:11Speaker 1: arm strength on this one, you know, as opposed to
- 40:13Speaker 1: whenever you're off platform, whenever you're off platforms, so that's
- 40:16Speaker 1: arm strength or tight holes, right, tight windows, right, you
- 40:20Speaker 1: need to get it where, like to deuce his point.
- 40:22Speaker 1: If it's a tight window, and I know I need
- 40:24Speaker 1: to get it in there, I'm anticipating it and that's
- 40:26Speaker 1: why I get it in there. But if it's maybe
- 40:29Speaker 1: if you've got to make up a little platform, you've
- 40:32Speaker 1: got pressure on a side or whatever, that's where it
- 40:35Speaker 1: becomes magnified. And I think that's where you saw last year.
- 40:41Speaker 1: You know, the sequential, Like I think the offense was
- 40:45Speaker 1: effective at times last year, but not when it counted
- 40:48Speaker 1: in terms of scoring points. Like they move the ball
- 40:51Speaker 1: effectively at times, but eventually something happens. You get a
- 40:55Speaker 1: holding call, you get pressure that causes you to throw
- 40:58Speaker 1: the ball sooner than you want and you miss one.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Dwayne had enough of us, but it causes you to
- 41:04Speaker 1: miss one, um And I think those are the kinds
- 41:07Speaker 1: of things that I think are accentuated with a guy
- 41:09Speaker 1: like Mac Jones as opposed to you know, someone with
- 41:12Speaker 1: a strong around like Patrick Mahomes. He can make two
- 41:14Speaker 1: bad throws, run around and make something out of nothing,
- 41:18Speaker 1: and just now that's an extreme. The other way Mahomes. So,
- 41:22Speaker 1: but I think that's a good point, and not just
- 41:25Speaker 1: in the specific that you brought up, but in the
- 41:27Speaker 1: generality of this year, needing Mac to pull some rabbits
- 41:33Speaker 1: out of the hat when it's not all going your way,
- 41:35Speaker 1: you know, when it's third and seventeen and you know,
- 41:37Speaker 1: like like last year it was fine. I mean, I
- 41:39Speaker 1: know that there's some criticism, especially the first half of
- 41:42Speaker 1: the year, a lot of yeah, you know, let's not
- 41:44Speaker 1: push on schedule, let's paunt what happens, right, and so
- 41:48Speaker 1: you know, for someone like Mahomes, of course his arm
- 41:50Speaker 1: strength and platform of platform delivery is part of that.
- 41:53Speaker 1: But you know, he's never dead. The same thing with Brady,
- 41:55Speaker 1: like they're never you know, how many times do we
- 41:57Speaker 1: see Brady and Adelman third and sixteen in the plays?
- 42:00Speaker 1: You know where it's going and that's where it goes.
- 42:02Speaker 1: We need more of that from mact this year, whether
- 42:04Speaker 1: it's off platform, whether it's late in the down, being
- 42:06Speaker 1: able to you know, make something out of nothing. I think,
- 42:09Speaker 1: you know, I think he was protected a little bit
- 42:11Speaker 1: last year. Um, but I think he were advising Mac
- 42:14Speaker 1: Jones that this just came to me and you said,
- 42:17Speaker 1: I want you to watch this quarterback and learn would
- 42:21Speaker 1: it be Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes or Peyton Manning. Well,
- 42:29Speaker 1: I could make arguments for all of them. Um, you know,
- 42:31Speaker 1: I think I think it's the only one that jumps
- 42:34Speaker 1: to mind is like no, and not because I hate him,
- 42:36Speaker 1: is because Aaron Rodgers. Just because I feel like Aaron
- 42:38Speaker 1: Rodgers is probably the most naturally gifted athlete. That's why
- 42:41Speaker 1: I wouldn't want That's that's my point. I like, you
- 42:46Speaker 1: just you can't do what Aaron Rodgers does because he's
- 42:48Speaker 1: just so naturally athletic and you know, nothing is hard
- 42:51Speaker 1: for him, and he makes everything look easy. But you know,
- 42:54Speaker 1: Peyton Manning's intelligence, Brady's intelligence and anticipation, um, you know,
- 43:00Speaker 1: I think, and Mahomes for what I just talked about.
- 43:02Speaker 1: I think that's when he's at his deadliest, is when
- 43:04Speaker 1: you think you got him and then you know, all
- 43:06Speaker 1: of a sudden it's a little dump off to Kelsey
- 43:08Speaker 1: or or you know Tyreek Hill formerly those those are
- 43:12Speaker 1: I think those guys. But there's something that he can
- 43:14Speaker 1: take I think from everybody. And I think mentally is
- 43:17Speaker 1: where you know, we already had a really good grasp
- 43:19Speaker 1: of the offense last year and jumped into things and
- 43:21Speaker 1: seemed in control. And that's something you talk about arm strength.
- 43:25Speaker 1: I don't really know arm strength this year any improvement,
- 43:27Speaker 1: but just as far as looking like he knows what
- 43:29Speaker 1: he's doing and what he wants, I would say that
- 43:31Speaker 1: confidence jumped off the field to me. And you know,
- 43:35Speaker 1: how does that translate once the game's keep going? And
- 43:38Speaker 1: we talked about identifying rushers, identifying coverages, knowing where to go.
- 43:41Speaker 1: So a lot of those battles I think can be
- 43:43Speaker 1: won with his mind rather than having to worry about
- 43:46Speaker 1: getting it in there with with the armstrength. Uh, speas
- 43:49Speaker 1: and Fresno, what's up? Speak? I was so overjoyed that
- 43:54Speaker 1: so with a slot came back up that I took
- 43:56Speaker 1: a Google and yeah, that had incognito mode on because
- 44:02Speaker 1: pretty hot search results there. There there more holes than plots.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Not good. I think I got you good, speedy, Uh, Paul,
- 44:17Speaker 1: I finished those are but you weren't that into the finale? Yeah?
- 44:21Speaker 1: I love the show, um, and I would highly recommend
- 44:24Speaker 1: people watching the show. The finale should not in any
- 44:27Speaker 1: way say like I'm not gonna bother watching that because
- 44:30Speaker 1: it's not worth it because you didn't like the finale. Um,
- 44:32Speaker 1: it was not to that level. Um, But but yeah,
- 44:36Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't like the way it's sort of
- 44:39Speaker 1: kind of you know, left no repercussions basically, you know,
- 44:44Speaker 1: other other than other than the mental you know, the
- 44:47Speaker 1: mental repercussions for the kid. Yeah, I'm writing with you.
- 44:51Speaker 1: It's like they didn't they didn't really have their come
- 44:53Speaker 1: up and in a way it all kind of worked
- 44:55Speaker 1: out and as a little flat I'm with you on that, Um,
- 44:58Speaker 1: but you don't want to get it away. I to
- 45:00Speaker 1: the max stuff. Um, it's it's I just look at
- 45:04Speaker 1: this season, it's all about mac um and I know
- 45:07Speaker 1: it's it's unknowable, but I kind of wanted to get
- 45:09Speaker 1: your guys just bidey sense at this point. You know,
- 45:12Speaker 1: the is he or isn't he's the guy question? We
- 45:16Speaker 1: need to see it play out. But I mean everything
- 45:18Speaker 1: you've guys been just talking about about arm strength, the
- 45:21Speaker 1: question about it, you know, does he have it to
- 45:23Speaker 1: be able to maybe improvise outside of the pocket, throw
- 45:25Speaker 1: off the platform. I just don't think he's if I
- 45:28Speaker 1: had to guess, I don't think he's that kind of guy.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Or athlete to play that way, and maybe you kind
- 45:35Speaker 1: of do need to be able to pee that way
- 45:37Speaker 1: in the NFL now in order to be a franchise quarterback.
- 45:42Speaker 1: I lost you there. Do I kind of think that
- 45:45Speaker 1: you need some elements of that unless you're absolutely exceptional.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Um So there's always exceptions to the rules, you know,
- 45:54Speaker 1: like Tom Brady will continue to be able to play
- 45:57Speaker 1: the way he plays for as long as he wants
- 45:59Speaker 1: to play like he's that good at it. You know
- 46:02Speaker 1: when Manning was the same way until physically he couldn't
- 46:04Speaker 1: throw the ball anymore, but even then he was still
- 46:07Speaker 1: making plays with his mind. Ye. I think in general terms,
- 46:13Speaker 1: if you're asking you know, so and so comes in
- 46:16Speaker 1: and he has a set of skills, I think it's
- 46:19Speaker 1: gonna be harder for guys like like Mac, you know,
- 46:22Speaker 1: and there are others that that don't run around and
- 46:25Speaker 1: make a lot of plays with their legs. I think
- 46:27Speaker 1: it's gonna be harder to succeed that way because I
- 46:29Speaker 1: think the game's getting faster, It's played more and more
- 46:32Speaker 1: on the edges. You need some guys that can that
- 46:35Speaker 1: can just go out and make a play once in
- 46:37Speaker 1: a while. That's not like the defense won the play,
- 46:40Speaker 1: but but Josh Allen won the play anyway because he's
- 46:43Speaker 1: just too physically gifted. And I think that that's what
- 46:47Speaker 1: you need to be a league. You can succeed like
- 46:49Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins. You know, you know Mac Mac. You know.
- 46:53Speaker 1: I think Mac will have a solid career. I don't
- 46:57Speaker 1: think he'll be a stiff. I think he'll be solid.
- 46:59Speaker 1: He's smart, he'll be solid, But I don't know if
- 47:02Speaker 1: he can never be a lead. Well, I'm a fellam,
- 47:04Speaker 1: what's up, William? I think we had some what's going on? Hey?
- 47:09Speaker 1: All right? He's Mike and Paul and also as how
- 47:12Speaker 1: you doing? No Tamara's here today? No, I didn't know
- 47:18Speaker 1: how you are? All right? Um? Can I say something
- 47:22Speaker 1: about what y'all talked about earlier in terms of the vaccine.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Is that is that possible? Yeah? I mean sure, it's
- 47:30Speaker 1: just it's just short and briefested. And then I have
- 47:32Speaker 1: a basically a football question. Um, I just I know
- 47:38Speaker 1: everybody was kind of skeptical, like we had those that
- 47:41Speaker 1: didn't want to take in whatever like that, and I
- 47:43Speaker 1: understand that, but I mean we all we wanted solution,
- 47:47Speaker 1: you know, we wanted solution for this problem whatnot? And
- 47:50Speaker 1: we got it and everybody questioned it just about and
- 47:53Speaker 1: I understand, you know, but if we all had came
- 47:55Speaker 1: together though, and just you know, we can come to
- 47:58Speaker 1: thee if we can come together something, grady, why can't
- 48:00Speaker 1: we just come together to take care of something like this?
- 48:03Speaker 1: You know what I mean. I'm with you, and we
- 48:05Speaker 1: won't be still be wearing mask to this day, you know.
- 48:08Speaker 1: And you know you got people, you know, people had
- 48:11Speaker 1: their rights, and I understand it. It's just I just
- 48:13Speaker 1: wish we could have been over this so long time ago.
- 48:15Speaker 1: I come with you. See, I just wish that we
- 48:17Speaker 1: could do it like we do a lot of other
- 48:19Speaker 1: things and let individual people make choices on their own.
- 48:22Speaker 1: I think there're a lot to do that with a pandemic.
- 48:25Speaker 1: I think you could. And I can't have half the
- 48:26Speaker 1: people going around spreading it and the other half, you know,
- 48:29Speaker 1: wearing because it doesn't work. That think what we did
- 48:32Speaker 1: prevented spreading. Then we didn't do it right, that's William's point.
- 48:35Speaker 1: We didn't all come together. Nope, we didn't all come
- 48:39Speaker 1: to stay in our houses in masked for like six months. No,
- 48:43Speaker 1: we didn't. We didn't. My god, there was we didn't.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Basketball nets in my town were taken down. I know,
- 48:51Speaker 1: you couldn't go out. We didn't do it enough. It
- 48:53Speaker 1: didn't work, we didn't. It was handled poorly by that
- 48:57Speaker 1: health organization. Now, yes, no, this is why you can't
- 49:01Speaker 1: do it because someone said something you disagree with. Yeah,
- 49:04Speaker 1: I can't happen. I agree. No, I'm just with William.
- 49:09Speaker 1: We didn't come together. That's the problem. But no, we
- 49:12Speaker 1: had to do it the way they said it. That
- 49:14Speaker 1: was the problem. But we and it wasn't done right.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Foun emails that leads I know. And half the people
- 49:19Speaker 1: didn't do it. They didn't do it. They didn't do it.
- 49:24Speaker 1: They did it, I mean, think about it. And it
- 49:25Speaker 1: didn't work, Paul. We got to come together at some point.
- 49:28Speaker 1: You can't. I mean, it's going to be upsused at
- 49:30Speaker 1: some point. You know, we want we asked for a solution,
- 49:33Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So, yep, I agree, I
- 49:35Speaker 1: agree with you, William. Yeah, and it's and it's not
- 49:39Speaker 1: please you know, it's not a colored thing. I don't
- 49:42Speaker 1: care nothing about that. And I'm beyond it. I mean,
- 49:44Speaker 1: I would great better, you know what I mean. I
- 49:46Speaker 1: love all colors, and I don't care. We all believe
- 49:48Speaker 1: we brought we all blie rid, So it don't aslutely
- 49:53Speaker 1: and COVID don't have no pacific person. It's just you're
- 49:56Speaker 1: gonna get it. You're gonna get That's as simple that
- 49:58Speaker 1: I agree. You know, well, um I'm offen it. So
- 50:02Speaker 1: my football question is for football and Mike um, and
- 50:06Speaker 1: it's basically build. How do y'all feel about far as
- 50:10Speaker 1: I mean as a whole between how to face between
- 50:15Speaker 1: off season in terms of free agency in the draft, right, like,
- 50:19Speaker 1: how do y'all feel about that? What do you how
- 50:22Speaker 1: do you feel? I definitely want to know what Mike think?
- 50:25Speaker 1: What do you specific like just the overall from this
- 50:28Speaker 1: specific we've done so far, from from the move that
- 50:31Speaker 1: he made basically so far. Yeah, I feel good about
- 50:36Speaker 1: the offense. I mean, I think you know, we're able
- 50:39Speaker 1: to get a number one No, but I think that
- 50:41Speaker 1: they addressed a lot of their offensive needs. And I
- 50:43Speaker 1: am on the optimistic and of the offense. I don't
- 50:46Speaker 1: feel optimistic about the defense. I don't think they did
- 50:48Speaker 1: enough on defense. I think we're gonna be relying on
- 50:51Speaker 1: a lot of people that you know, are unproven on
- 50:53Speaker 1: the defensive side of the ball at cornerback and a
- 50:55Speaker 1: linebacker and along the edge. So um that you know,
- 50:58Speaker 1: that's my my general take. I don't think it's ever
- 51:00Speaker 1: gonna be perfect. I mean, I don't think you ever
- 51:01Speaker 1: gonna be walking in with it with a superstar team.
- 51:04Speaker 1: But I think Fred and I are kind of on
- 51:06Speaker 1: defensive feeling like this is going to be a better
- 51:09Speaker 1: offense this year, yep, But I think that the defense
- 51:13Speaker 1: might take a step back. I mean, I think if
- 51:14Speaker 1: I'm looking at this season, how I think it's going
- 51:16Speaker 1: to unfold is that we're going to be excited about
- 51:19Speaker 1: the steps that Mac takes with the offense, Romandre Stevenson,
- 51:23Speaker 1: incorporating Parker. I think that they'll be able to move
- 51:25Speaker 1: the ball and be better and that'll be exciting. But
- 51:27Speaker 1: I think that there's going to be a lot of
- 51:29Speaker 1: problems on defense that are going to lose games, and
- 51:32Speaker 1: that's what the frustration is going to be. That's how
- 51:33Speaker 1: I feel it. And I also think they'll be better
- 51:35Speaker 1: on offense, but that's because of Mac Jones. I think
- 51:37Speaker 1: he'll be better in year two than he wasn't year one.
- 51:39Speaker 1: I think that's just well if he isn't, then they're
- 51:41Speaker 1: not going to be right. But I think he I
- 51:43Speaker 1: think that Matt Jones was new as long as well
- 51:46Speaker 1: as like the pieces around him, like there was just
- 51:48Speaker 1: everyone was learning the offense. Yeah, just Mac Jones. Yeah.
- 51:51Speaker 1: And then also, second of all, I think that the
- 51:54Speaker 1: defense could surprise some people that the offense is better,
- 51:58Speaker 1: the defense won't be on the field as long they
- 52:01Speaker 1: won't be so burnt out on the second half of
- 52:02Speaker 1: the game listening that. I'm all for each side contributing
- 52:07Speaker 1: to the other, giving each the other hope. And if
- 52:10Speaker 1: the offense is better, it does give it helps the defense.
- 52:13Speaker 1: But where you know, other than that, where do you
- 52:17Speaker 1: think that improvements coming from on defense? I also think
- 52:19Speaker 1: that to Mike's point, there are a lot of unproven
- 52:23Speaker 1: people that need to turn this like potential into production,
- 52:28Speaker 1: and if they don't, then that's going to be a problem. Yeah,
- 52:31Speaker 1: it's to me, I know there's unknowns on both sides,
- 52:34Speaker 1: but to me, there's more unknowns on defense. This year.
- 52:37Speaker 1: I would agree with you guys on that. I just
- 52:39Speaker 1: don't I'm not as high in the offense as you
- 52:41Speaker 1: guys are. I don't see the problems have having been
- 52:44Speaker 1: addressed other than Davante Parker. Right, I think that's a
- 52:47Speaker 1: big address. Well, I think they lost more than the
- 52:50Speaker 1: gain to what I'm saying. Offensively, they lost two fifths
- 52:54Speaker 1: of their offensive line. And Josh McDaniels, Yeah, yeah, um,
- 52:59Speaker 1: one more call them. We'll take a break. John's in Duxbury.
- 53:02Speaker 1: What's up John? Gentlemen and ladies, how are you? Hi? Awesome?
- 53:08Speaker 1: A couple of things here before I want to ask
- 53:10Speaker 1: you people about the Sean watching there. But uh, you
- 53:15Speaker 1: were talking about the soap and I myself with Boa soap.
- 53:20Speaker 1: If you use the ba so to the point where
- 53:22Speaker 1: it's so thin that you can't use it, saved the
- 53:25Speaker 1: bas so use another by take a shower with the
- 53:28Speaker 1: new boy. When you're done, what the wafer, put it
- 53:32Speaker 1: on top and you'll use the entire by that one.
- 53:35Speaker 1: That's the concept. That's not concept. But but but with
- 53:38Speaker 1: the slot or in this you know, or someplace to
- 53:41Speaker 1: put it where it kind of is easier to meld,
- 53:44Speaker 1: that's the idea. But you get the concept. It's the
- 53:47Speaker 1: same thing where you meld it into its Okay, yeah,
- 53:52Speaker 1: you use it complete by that way. And then Alex
- 53:55Speaker 1: also brought up pizza and she was right on the
- 53:58Speaker 1: money about Frank Peppy. I grew up in the city
- 54:00Speaker 1: and I've had a lot of good pizza because I
- 54:02Speaker 1: grew up with a lot of Italians, and Frank Peppi
- 54:05Speaker 1: is the best beach I've ever had. I like friend Peppy.
- 54:07Speaker 1: There's one in Chestnut Hill that I go to. This
- 54:10Speaker 1: one of Burlington. Yeah, yeah, yeah, huh yeah and the mall.
- 54:17Speaker 1: I want you to watch Friday and Bayo. What is that?
- 54:22Speaker 1: What am I watching? This is Paul? Yes, what am
- 54:26Speaker 1: I watching? John? I want you to watch Brian Bao
- 54:29Speaker 1: for for the Worcester whatever they call themselves. Oh the
- 54:34Speaker 1: Mine Affiliates. The best pitcher I've seen in thirty years.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Come out of that. Wow, Okay, he is outstanding. He
- 54:42Speaker 1: pitched the other night. Yeah he had I think he
- 54:45Speaker 1: had twelve strikeouts. He is really talented. Thanks all right,
- 54:50Speaker 1: good tip. I wish I still liked Get down the Farm, Paul.
- 54:54Speaker 1: All right, thanks, John, appreciate it. Oh wow, um um.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Who's the six seven shortstop? That's like the big rage
- 55:03Speaker 1: now sixty seven shortstop? Yeah, and in the major leagues. Oh,
- 55:08Speaker 1: you haven't seen saw something? But I don't know who
- 55:10Speaker 1: it was like, it's just blam. He's the rage. Like guys, now,
- 55:14Speaker 1: tell me it's not about what a guy hits, it's
- 55:16Speaker 1: about what he's expected to hit. No, but listen this
- 55:19Speaker 1: guy um O'Neil Cruse. He runs faster than Tyree Hill
- 55:25Speaker 1: in short like his sprinting speed at six seven He's
- 55:29Speaker 1: faster than Tyree Hill. The team is he on, Matt Hope?
- 55:34Speaker 1: Please on the Pirates? He um his bat. His speed
- 55:39Speaker 1: off the bat is like over one hundred and twenty

- 1:05:54Speaker 1: bellbot shot up. I thought he was gonna wear like
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: tight tape form. That would be I don't do. I
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: don't do the year chet for obvious reasons. That's another
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: great moment from all right back in Patriots. On Filter
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: five five Pass five hundred is a stake of outline
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: web radio at Patriots dot Com, Robert in southern California says,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: first thing, where's Cole Strange gonna play this coming year?
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Left guard or center? Or maybe better question is where
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: are the needs on the old line and can he
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: fill those holes? Que Eric snickering. Eric's not here anymore,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: but um, it's probably gonna be left guard right there,
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: right in there once David Andrews gets hurt and maybe
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: there's some mix up, but you know. But second question,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: this is more important, how do I get in touch
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: with the guy with the soap that has the hole
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: in it. I'm recently single and I'm looking to upgrade
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: my soap game or something so okay, Wow, I'm just
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: surprised so many people still use bar soap. I thought
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: most of us said, move to uh liquids, a waste
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: of money, used too much of it. Get get a Yeah,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: one's actually true. One pump on the liquid soap. That's
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: all you need. Yeah, I agree with get a you know,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: a loofa and then you get a nice a nice
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: lather lather up good, you know. But the bar you
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: gotta that's gotta go to all kind of dark places.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: You know, you gotta rub it all over the place,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: you know, Like I don't want to do that. Do
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: you live on your own room? See? Now, if I
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: live by myself, I could be convinced is still used
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: bar soap? Yeah, otherwise I don't want oh Fred's ass
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: on my face. But that that's actually that's my ass
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: correct I. Well, I use bar soap because I needed
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: soap that like was fragrance for you with no all
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: that junk in it. Um. But I also do have
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: body washing case that I do want to switch it up,
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: but I smell delightful. But to Fred's point, I always
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: use too much, Yeah, way too much. Get the pump.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: Get one. Yeah, you can't get Yeah, it comes in.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: You don't have to like just squirt it out's half
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: the bottle, like when Will does it. It just seems
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: to me, like I guess if you use a loofa,
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: you only need a little to get the loofa and
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: that and that last for the whole sure upside down,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: I'm not using that. Oh it's good though. He said,
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: that's how you do that's how but that's how Mike does.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: That's how you get the crannies. You don't have to
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: do it that way if you don't want to, if
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: you don't like a loofah, but otherwise if you but
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: if dolls, what I'm saying is if you don't, then
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: you have to use more body wash. You don't put
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: just put a little bit in your hand. You rub
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: it and you get all kinds of lather, and that
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: last for the whole shower. Are you getting clean? How
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: long do you shower? Well, you have to clean your
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: whole body. Yes, you get all your upper body. Yeah,
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: you do that first. Yeah, and you get down on
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: the legs and get that done. It's still take care
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: of the other part. It's a little bit. One dollar
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: one dollar is getting the legs absolutely, Yeah, every white
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: people don't wash their legs everything. Okay, what you hear
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: about that? They get dripped on? Why why? Why it's
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: got to be about race white people? Friend said it
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: not me, But I did hear that. Yeah, I wish
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: my legs every day, I know, actually, especially what I got. No, okay,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: so I didn't hear that white people don't wash their legs.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: I hurt. White people don't wash their feet because the
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: water like, yeah, that's true. And yeah, in a shower,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: I don't wash my feet. Yeah, we don't go below
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: the nether regions. I mean it's too much bending over
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: to the top of my foot. But I don't like
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: pick up my my actual foot. And well, if you
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: had a bench maybe in your shower, like you were
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: fancy and down and am I too fat to balance
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: on one foot? Is that you're trying to sud I don't.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Well that's dangerous, Paul in the in the in the shower,
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: What am I going to break a hip? Oh? By
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: the way, did you watch that? I did it? It
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: was good, but I heard it was great. Yeah, he
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: was good. He was really good. Tomlin. Yeah, we're looking
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: for volunteers not hostages. No, but he had some really
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: good points to about, you know, leadership And can you
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: put in a good word for me? I will. I
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: love my time. I might see him in crect me
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: so I can do that. So this is the guy
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: that works the Patriot's been there like one hundred years.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: He really likes you. So what's going on with the
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: radio headsets in the place now? We were getting um
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: jacket and aba. As another caller mentioned, when my bath
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: soap gets too small to use, I squeeze it onto
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: a new bar so the two melt together, as you
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: have said, and then I use the small remainder of
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: the first bar instead of wasting it. In this regard,
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: I have noticed that the soap makers sometimes introduced new
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: bars of soap with unusual shapes that are hard to
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: squeeze together with another bar. I wonder whether the soap
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: companies are trying are trying to make it harder for
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: us to squeeze together bars of soap so that we
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: use more soap. Am I paranoid? Yes? Remember just because
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: your paranoid doesn't mean someone's not out to get you.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: It just means it's favorite one different. Yeah, it just
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: means it's somewhat different than who you think it is. Uh,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: that's a good yeah. They I always thought that the
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: reason why they curve it like that, So when you
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: put it down on the soap holder, the whole soap
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: isn't touching. I think it minimizes the amount that gets stuck.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: Doesn't it also sort of help with the contour of
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: your body? No, See, that's the thing when I don't
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: like rub. You rub the soap on your hands, and
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: then you use your hand. You don't like rub the
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: soap on you like you're standing your body. Well, I'm
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: trying to explore this a little bit because I think
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: at the root of all this is you. You don't
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: want to waste a tiny, little used up way for
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: a soap. So does this carry over in other areas
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: of your life? Like you have to get the full
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: use of everything, right down to the absolute glass from
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: the guy who buys lunch every day and gives like
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: three quarters of the right right like that being got
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: to make sure, I know, he's got to make sure
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: that everybody has no But I am kind I am
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: I do kind of have a little thing about that,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Like I don't like to start anything before I finish
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: the thing before, whether it's a book or a movie
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: or whatever. I like to finish something before I start.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: It's something new, I would agree with that. I've got
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: a question. So when you open a water bottle yep
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: at home yep, and say if you left that on
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: your nightstand, do you finish that water bottle on your
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: nightstand or do you go get a cold one from
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: the fridge. I finished the one on my nightstand, So
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: you're not one of those people who have like seven
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: open water bottles in the nowise known as will Oh yes,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: now that's that's my wife, who I think is listening
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: right now too. There's a bottle, there's playing out of
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: it ewhere shout out I finish, I finish it. If
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: it's warm, I don't care. Okay, yeah, okay, I don't care.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: And if you want to go back to the soap thing,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: because yet there's an element there's an element of the
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: soap thing that I don't understand. Like Fred, I get
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: your mentality of not wanting to start a new one
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: before finishing the old one. That makes perfect sense to me.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: I get that, but like, are you really saving anything
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: with like you have to buy a new bar or soap. Yep,
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: it's like everybody that's been stuck up here. Everybody has
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: talked to me about this. Whether you put it in
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: a slot like Fred's invention, you meld to you know,
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: the small piece of soap to a new box, like
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: you're not saving anything. You have to buy a new
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: bar of soap in order to continue to just not
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: waste out that you're just not throwing out, you know.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: It's kind of like recycling. It though a little bit okay,
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: but it's it's soap. It's not like you're recycling. Otherwise
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: I'm not listening. I would be dead. It's like, I
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: don't like, I'm not recycling. I'm not saving the planet.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: I get that, all right, But I also don't have
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: these little pieces that are like on the floor of
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: the shower or stuck to the soap dish, or that
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: I have to throw away. I guess you're limiting trash.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: I don't know. I would just be like, all right,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: I guess I'm searching. I continue to search for the
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: actual practicality of not wanting to use a little heel
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: of soap, which it's it's it's the wasting I've never
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: once thought to myself before the the you know, the
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: advent of all the liquid soaps and body watches, I
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: never once thought like, okay, my eye have another example.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: I don't want to use that. I have another example. Okay,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: I have a dog, all right, so I have dog food.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: Dog food comes in a bag, all right. You get
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: to the bottom of the bag and like there's a
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: little bit left, and it's really hard to get that
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: bag out. I don't throw that bag away. I pour
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: that bag into the new bag. So I'm not wasting
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: any dog food. Oh, I wouldn't suggest, why would you?
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: That's not the same thing. This universe. This is this
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: same universe. I think this is a little bit of
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: a better example. Are you when you know when you
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: have a lotion bottle and it like stops pumping, but
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: you know there's still some lotion in there. Okay, I'm
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: with you. People will cut it open, or here's what
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: I do. Like shampoo, same thing, Okay, So what I
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: do is I open it up, pumps still, put a
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: little water, and they open it up. I put a
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: little water, I wish it around and I keep using
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: it until it's empty. Yeah. Now, and I also have
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: a theory tomorrow I've shared on the show. These guys
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: probably forget no one has ever truly used every bit
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: of toothpaste in a in a toothpaste too. Yeah, I
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: do roll. I'm saying that people from the bottom people
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: throw way toothpaste before they actually use every bit of
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: I agree, Yeah, I got. I have a hand lotion
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: right now that's very similar to that. I refuse to
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: give up. Yeah, I refuse to give up some more
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: in there and every day I use it. I got
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: one more example that's kind of a little bit obscure,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: but I'm sure there's someone out there that knows. Coconut water.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: You ever get one of those coconut water things, No,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: you can never get every last drop out of coconut water.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: When you get one of those little like containers with
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: a little where there's always a little bit in there
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: that you can hear and you can tump it. I'm
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: saying down and never have to get coconut water. If
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: you're out there, try like water. I like coconut This
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: is another like you want to use all the but
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: I thought that the soap was really good, And I
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: get the same thing with coffee too. When I'm making
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: coffee in the morning and you know, there's only like
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: a table spoon laugh, But am I gonna get the
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: same kind of coffee again? And so I have a
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: little bit of I don't want to just throw it out,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: but you can't make one cup of coffee and you
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: throw it in with something else. But like that, Yeah,
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: the food, why why would you just throw food away?
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: It's perfectly good food. Why you know, yeah, empty it
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: completely before you throw it away, perfectly good soap, it's
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: just really small. Oh my god. Right, so just keep
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: using that. That's my point, that little How did this
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: conversation of soap even, like because Fred's chane he had
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: a soap with a slot and it's sparned the whole
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: seven shows worth of content. I think we marry You
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: probably were in high school when you started. We've always
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: had we've always been interested in inventions. Okay, so that
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: was one of mine. And I talked about, you know,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: what's the best way to pick up acorns? Because one
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: year in my in my one year in my backyard,
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: like whatever, the trees produced this huge amount of acorns.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: They were everywhere, Like, what's the best way to pick
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: them up? And somebody actually sent me the nut Wizard
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: and it's like a broom handle with this like you
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: know how they have the bingo balls and the like
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: in a cage. It looks like that at the end
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: of it and you roll it and it picks up
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: the acorns in this cage. Like there's like wires. I
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: just gave it the Boston the acorn. The acorn will
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: get squeezed through the wire almost like mash, and then
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: it stays inside. How do you get them out? Well,
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: there's so there's another metal tool that you put in
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: and it separates the wires and then they pour out.
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: Yeah all right, yeah, so I have them in my office.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Believe you should bring them down here and put them here,
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: someone display them. But you never brought it out to
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: use it. But after that year, I never had the problem.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: I don't think it was all that effective, to be honest. Um,
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Chris from Virginia, you guys really need a not safe
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: for the workplace caption for the summer shows. I love
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: the added oh my god from Tamara after every funny
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: comment from Paul and Fred love the summer shows. Oh
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: my god, h Spe says Fred is right. Paul is
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: wrong saying that Fred is not saving anything about the soap.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: The practicality in smushing the little remainder soap to a
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: new one is that it literally gives you more soap
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: to use. It increases the amount of time you'll need
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: before acquiring the third bar than the fourth, et cetera.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Compound that over a lifetime, and Fred will be retiring
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: on Easy Street. I agree, after fifty five years, you
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: probably saved one bar or soap's worth of time. Right,
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: I'm just imagining Fred, like you know what I'm Maybe
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: he's just got that little tiny sliver of soap in
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: his hand and he's rubbing it on his body, and
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: then all of a sudden it's gone. But you know
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: what he did it, He used the But you know
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: what actually happens when you have that little heel of
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: soap and you use it, You know what inevitably happen?
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: It breaks in half. Yeah, exactly it does, and now
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: you get two little pieces, and now it's really hysteria. Yeah,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: I got to zero. I finally got to zero or
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: deuce is what you're saying. You get to zero, but
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: you're not finished showering, So now I get to get
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: out of the shower. You must be the cleanest person
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: on the shower every day. Paul, I used soap. But
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: if you ever run out of soap in the middle
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: of a shower, like literally once, because you know, I
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: have the dilemma where okay, the soap is getting down there,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: when do you bring out the new bar? You know,
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: in my in my world, if I had the slot,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: it wouldn't matter as soon as the slot to bring
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: out the new bar, right right, But what do you
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: do when the soap and laneness and she my mife
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: has texting me through this hole. She's riveted by this conversation.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Not really, but she's like, but it gets soggy, so
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: when I wish I could tell you it was fake,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: but it's not. When it's sitting in the little soap dish,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: but some water gets in there and then all of
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: a sudden it loosens up and it's squishy. Do you
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: are you like, oh God, I gotta do like triage
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: on my soap and get it out of the water
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: and let it again. If you have the soap of
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: the slot, you don't need to get to that point.
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: You can avoid, thus defeating the purpose of saving the time.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: You can remount of time he takes worrying about when
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: you can avoid that. Yeah, the best piece of soap
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: I ever had. Well, you know what happens when you
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: mix you know, different sof soap, Irish spring with ivory.
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: It just now that's dogs and cats. Yeah, I used
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: to when you've mixed different bars of soap, I figure
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: you whatever kind of soap you uses, the kind of
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: stick with the dove Men's kid. But when I was
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: a little kid, when I was a little kid, they
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: made a soap that had a toy inside. So you know,
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: you use sear up like you use the soap, and
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: you get down to the point where there's this little
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: plastic dinosaur in the middle, so of was I can't wait.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: I get the soap and immediately shop and half that's
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: where it is and make a complete mass summatize. He
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: was wasted. We've unlocked its masses. Childhood guilt for all
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: the soap that you wiped it over the years. Oh
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: don't you guys again, you might be too young. But
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: back in the day with cereal, they used to put
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: toys inside. Oh yeah, oh yeah, so you don't wait.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: You stick your hand right down to the cereal. Yeah,
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: but you didn't waste any cereal. You didn't. Wait, but
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: if anyone else needs to use a serial, your arm
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: was just in there at a different time, Crack and Jack,
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: you know it was a different time. Yeah. Yeah. They
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: had googling this to see if I can find still
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: a thing. I just did this. I just googled it.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: I see it. So yeah, not a new thing. Oh
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: I didn't know that. Yeah, it's a little demetrid on. Yeah,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: this is crazy. I never knew there was a soap
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: with a with a toy inside. Yeah, never, I didn't.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: I never heard that before. Oh yeah no, with all
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: my Dove Dove men and Dial High free, those are
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: probably the whole time, just using regular people. So I
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: was just using no slots, no slots, no time. He
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: definitely had this Pokemon soap. Well you got the Pokemon
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: out of the middle. I didn't. Yeah, so they still
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: have it, okay, Yeah, I thought it was just back
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: when I was headphones done U Mike and Charlotte says,
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: people are looking at me, looking at me in my
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: office as they started laughing out loud. When Paul said,
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: I don't want Fred's ass in my face. Oh, it's crazy.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Grunk retired too. We haven't talked about it. Yeah, you
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: know what we did. We didn't talk well, we think
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: he retired. We didn't talk about it. He's coming back
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: a thousand percent, you think so, huh. We didn't talk
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: about that. She's gonna wait till about the summer, you know, not.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: It wasn't in the journal, Cameron, Brad will go down
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: and he's coming, he'll come back, He's yeah. I'm I
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: thought it was strange, Like the reaction to his retirement
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: in Boston was odd. I thought, like the amount of
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: like exasperation on the part of the media, Like, again,
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: well when he came back, did you think he was
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: never going to retire or a second time? This is
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: for those of you keep a track, this is his
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: second retirement, right, Yeah, no kidding. I think he retired
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: and came back. Right my definition, that means at least
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: two right. I'm most impressed that it didn't get leaked
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: like he was actually the one too and oh no,
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: someone had it and then he put out his social media. Yeah, George,
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: he's a new story breaker. It's been starting to half
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: them more and more. Is that the guy that has
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: all the stuff wrong all the time. I'm not being
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: dead and serious. I don't know if he does. I
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: know in the past he's broken stuff that I haven't
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: I've stayed away from just to get confirmation from. I
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: think that's the guy that generally is wrong, but he's
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: he has been right. I think like he tweeted out
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: like all kinds of facts about the Celtics in the playoffs,
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: about certain referees, and come to find out it was
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: all inaccurate. Anthony writes in um gotta chime in on
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: the soap. I agree with Deucey yet again. Body wash
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: is the only way to go. Bar soap leads me
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: too dried out, and it's disgusting when everyone else in
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: the house is touching it. All You non foot washers
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: must have blessed must have blessed glands, because my feet
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: smell too bad to not give them a good scrub
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: every time I shower. My dumb slash great invention is
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: a self cleaning TV. I can't stand even the smallest
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: smudge in my screen, and I hate having to find
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: the cloth and spray need it to keep them clean
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: every time. That's a little OCD. If you need to
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: get a cloth and spray to Yeah, constantly clean your TV. Yeah,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: I find that. I find that once you turn the
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: TV on, you don't notice the smudges. It's only when
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: it's off. But then all of a sudden you realize
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: it and you wipe off a little part and you're like, whoa,
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: there's a lot of dust on this. I didn't wasn't
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: even aware of it. Then give it, like distract from
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: your viewing pleasure, he invites big. When you know when
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: she'll wiper goes across clean. Um, it's like one of
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: those self cleaning litter boxes with the thing just another
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: Anthony writes, and he says, hold on, hold on clamation
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: full times. Oh wait please, So if I buy a
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: soap bar with a slot, that slot is empty, correct,
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: less soap? I agree? Aren't I paying full price for
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: less soap? But the items like a rip off? Well
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: what if they just make this so bigger overall? Oh,
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: you're gonna want that paying more money for it. So again,
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: it's all relative. You got to start the cycle on
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: that first bar, and then once you're rolling, you're just
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: putting soap into slots. Left him right, Um Marcos writes
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: in Fred it's all about the initial investment, right, you
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: gotta upfront costs and then you're okay. Marcos says, I
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: got one you might enjoy. Fred. I use heavy cream
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: in my coffee and over here it comes in a
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: plastic container. He's an Argentina that looks like sort of
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: a glass. When the container it's almost empty and I
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: can't get anything else out of it, I pour the
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: coffee straight into it and drink it from there. There
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: you go. So he's you know, it's good stuff. Yeah,
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: it is good stuff. Heavy cream in the coffee is good.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: But that's it's pretty heavy cream. Is that extra calories there?
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: I think for a non coffee drink, it's good. I
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: mean we I usually go and half. We got the
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: light cream here, which I can feel that difference that
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: here at the at the office. But but sometimes some
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: some restaurants are heavy cream. Then that's I like heavy cream.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: It's good. Heavy cream in the coffee is the only
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: one you can tell the difference. I think that's coffee absolutely. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: like if you put milk and coffee, Oh no, no, no, no,
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: it's you know, cream is so much different. I could
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: definitely tell, like if I had, you know, back to
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: our cereal talk from Tuesday. Um, the different kinds of
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: milk I could tell in my cream, like if it's
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: whole milk or skim milk on I wouldn't be able
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: to tell. Like did you know that that depend the
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: cap The color of the cap on milk tells you
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: what kind of milk it is. Nope, never pay attention
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: to that, Freddie Freddy, I just read the lace. If
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: it's red, it's whole milk. If it's yellow, it's two percent.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: I think orange. I think is skim like it's color
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: coded and it's standard, like it's not just hood like
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: all of them use the same colors. Didn't know that
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: usually just for your person? Am I col do you drink?
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: I like milk like in my cereal? Not me, but
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: when it comes when it comes to coffee though, I
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: am almond milk, oat milk creamer like it has what
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: do you have to have whole milk and coffee and anything?
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: No cream in my coffee, whole milk on my type
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: of cream, well, I get it from Duncan and they
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: put creaming unless you ask for milk. Yeah, it has
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: to be almond milk. Yeah, I don't. My wife makes
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: coffee at home, I don't. I just have one cup
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: of day and it's from Duncan. Yeah, I company cream, Yeah, partner.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: They fixed the lids, by the way, I had a
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: problem with Duncan over the last few years they changed
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: their lids. Um. It was like a hole that you
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: had a problem with you. You had a hole in
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: it that you needed a stopper, a plastic stopper to
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: put on this. It was two pieces and it was
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: leaking all over the place. But they went back. So
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: the money you saved on that plastic that wasn't covering
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: up that hole. Not right concept. They went back to
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: the little thing that folds over. I did really like
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: that in the Dunkin cups yet yeah so um, you
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: still got the the styrofoam I no get rid of.
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: Now they're paper cups. Now they've been paper for a while. Good.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: Are you a hot coffee person all the time, like
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: even in the summer? Yes, wow, yea. I dabble in both.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: I can go either way. I can have I can
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: have iced coffee when it's five degrees. I drink ice
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: coffee too fast. Okay, I'll get an extra large iced coffee.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Drink it like a soda. I know that's true. And
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: and they are also so packed with like syrups and
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: ice you get it always gives you don't get as
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: much for your money. I think that when you you
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: have to be smart when you order. You have to
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: be smart when you order. Don't add especially from Duncan.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: You don't need to add sugar because it's already sweet. Yeah,
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: don't need to add sugars those sweet all. What's the
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: difference between the swirl and what they have? Like two things?
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: What is the swirl and the shot? And you can
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: also get unsweetened like syrups yea, so you can also.
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: They all tear me up. That's why I just go
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: creaming coffee, no sugar, no sugar. I mean sometimes you
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: don't need the sugar because Duncans is already sweet. Yeah.
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: Usually coffee, Yeah, their ice coffee. Yeah, I don't get um.
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: Trent from Sylvan writing in um stoked for the old
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: New Old Jerseys this season read his back Baby, really
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: enjoying the offseason shows. On Tuesday, you were talking about
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: directors and producers and writers who are a must watch.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: Quentin Tarantino is a much must watch and Paul he
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: is one of those writers directors who have a unique style.
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: I agree, Yeah, you can definitely tell when you're watching
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: a Tarantino film. Martin McDonough is also a writer and
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: director who's worth checking out. Uh In Bruges, Seven Psycho Psychopaths,
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: and Three Billboards. I've never seen anything I have heard
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: of huge. Um, Three Billboards is great, But I mean
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: once upon a time in Hollywood that that was one
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: of my favorite movies. The last couple of years. It's
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: on a lot on TV now. Oh, it's the Three Billboards,
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: the one set in Midwest with the woman. Yeah, that
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: was a great movie. It's Missouri, right, Yeah, it's something Missouri,
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: like three Billboards in Missouri something, yes, Ebbing or yes,
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: something like that. Yeah, that was a good I didn't
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: see it. Good movie. Anything that's like critically acclaimed, I
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: probably haven't seen, right, Just it's hard because people like it.
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: You don't know, because people don't like it. If the
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: Academy likes it, that's not the same. Well critically acclaimed.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: I mean it was a good movie, paul By according
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: to me. No, Well that might be. I'm not saying
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: that every movie like that, like Rocky was an Academy
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: Award winner. I think everybody that was critically acclaimed correct,
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: But I'm saying in general terms, if a movie is
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: nominated for Best Picture, I generally don't have any interest
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: in it, Okay, and sometimes I miss good movies as
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: a result. God Father Again, again, I stayed it up front.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: There are exceptions to all rules. All the talk this
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: offseason has been surrounding the play calling and who will
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: be calling the plays? When was the last time a
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: quarterback called his own plays? Full time? Not saying Mac
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: will be calling his own plays, but what are the
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: benefits of calling our own plays? Are there any benefits?
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: Could it happen? That's interesting? I never not that I
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: can remember any personal experience of did they let you
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: call plays? Paul? When you were a quarterback in the
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Everett Every team they give you that. I will tell
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: you the only thing that I ever did in terms
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: of calling plays. No, they never allowed me or any
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: of the other quarterbacks to call our own plays. But
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: we used to run guys on and off the field,
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: or who would have it? Or you had to run
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: off the field and get the play like. We didn't
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: have an elaborate I actually had one year a pop
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: Warner where we had a signal system, but it was
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: pretty basic. But what I used to do a lot
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: was claimed that I didn't get the play and run
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: what I wanted to run. I didn't hear it. I
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: especially did that when I was younger, like when I
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: was like a freshman or sophomore playing like JV sophomore year.
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: Me and there was two there were two of us,
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: two sophomore quarterbacks, and we used to joke about, like,
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: you know, we should just stop throwing the ball like
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: and and we would do that like, oh, I didn't
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: get the plot, didn't get it, like I'm sorry, I'm sorry,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: you know, And we didn't do it like a lot.
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: You do it like once or twice a game. Maybe,
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: you know, I remember that game with remember that quarterback
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: Jonathan Moxon. He called his own plays a couple of
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: times whenever the best the best call at that game.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: You remember the signal, right, it was, so, I asked TJ.
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: This was possibly when when when when Lance took over
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: as the coach and he called the hook and ladder
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: by putting a fake finger in his mouth like a
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: hook and then pretending he was climbing a ladder. I
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: don't know how the defense was caught unawares on that play,
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: Like TJ was like dying hysterically that it's like the
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: statue of liberty play. That's like the only other one
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: we remember the Titans the other night, t J and
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: I and UH and Beth. It was it is a
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: great But do you remember quarterbacks ever calling their own
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: plays like I don't. I don't really ever remember and
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: hing that or no, and I mean really at any level? Yeah,
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: Grogan call his own place for years? Really, yeah, absolutely,
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: Johnny Unitis, I didn't called his own plays like every
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: play of his career. I did not know that. Yeah,
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: there used to be there used to be a lot
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: more in the quarterback than there is now. And I
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: guess how did that? The flip side of that, his
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: defenses are a lot more elaborate now than they were then.
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: So right, it's you know, yeah, I mean watches you
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: would think the bird's eye view that the offensive coordinator has,
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: you know, informs that a lot better than the quarterback.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: I mean, and I mean I just go back to
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: my own stupid court football playing experience, which is that
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: it just seemed like organized chaos and you had no
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: idea like what down it? Way did you get into
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: your stance? And you know what the what? What down?
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: You know what? You played football and you didn't realize
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: down in distance? Well you do, but it's I guess
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: when you go like I didn't believe I hired and
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: I grew up. I mean I grew up not having
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: it was too fat to play Pop Warner, you know,
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: which never made sense, like how can you be too
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: big to play football as a kid? But you know,
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: once you got into like the later time, like it's
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: just I don't know. It seems like it's really hard
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: to for a quarterback to be able to manage kind
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: of all that at one time fits back. Oh you
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: gave away my secret that I was gone. No, no, no,
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: Alex writes in He's from Patucket. In talking with the
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: people around me about the team in What the Future Holds,
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: I find two interesting points that were made which lead
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: to two questions. Let's do it. One, A co worker
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: mentioned that he believes Bill is over the hill as
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: a coach. I disagree with this notion wholeheartedly, but curious
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: as to your thoughts on Bill being over the hill
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: or passed his prime as the coach. I think he
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: has made questionable choices at times, but don't we all
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: being over the hill? Um, I don't know, I don't know.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: I mean, I think that the last few years have
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: have been difficult, and I think a lot of that
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: we can trace to just the simple fact that they
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: didn't restock the shelves with you know, really outstanding drafts
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: or at least a couple you know, real star offensive
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: defensive players. Um. He certainly has hit on a bunch
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: of them over the over twenty years, but I think
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: it it dried up twenty fifteen, twenty sixteen, and so
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: now you're getting to the point where either the guys
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: that they've drafted over the last few years are going
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: to step up or they're going to be stuck without
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: really any kind of foundation. So I'm you know, Mac
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: is great, and you found a good quarterback and that's
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: that's huge, and you know, Barmore seems like a piece.
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: But you know, I think that coaching is hard. And
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: how would you know when Bill is over the hill?
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: Like how would you know that that's what it was?
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: Whereas all right, he just missed on drafts, Like you
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: know what, how where do you draw the line, Well,
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: here's where I would look at that. And I don't
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: have the answer to this. I'm with Deuce, like how
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: do you how do you know? But is it simplistic
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: to just say, well, he used to be exceptional at
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: restocking his roster every year with young talented players that
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: were huge, you know in that oh one through like
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: you know, oh seven, You know that that's like, we
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: don't have to go over all the names they had
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: two three guys that were important parts of championships, seemingly
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: drafted every year and it's dried up. Well, it's easy
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: to say, well, drafting is hard, like you know, you
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: go through ebbs and flows of success in the draft.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Or might it be as he's gotten older and he's
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: continuing to draft the similar kinds of players that he
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: drafted back then and worked and in this day and
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: age don't And again I have no idea, I have
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: no idea why. But maybe he drafted a guy, um,
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: you know, in in twenty eighteen that if he had
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: drafted in two thousand and three might have been a
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: perfect fit. But maybe today he's not the same kind
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: of impact because the game has changed so much. Yeah,
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: I think I don't. I don't have the answer to
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: this question. So I don't want what do you say,
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: I don't want to don't add me. Yeah, I mean
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: Tom Brady covered up so many flaws that I think
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: you need a number of years without him to see
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: whether or not. Yeah, you know, you know, so I don't.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: I don't see any evidence that he's over the hill.
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: I don't have evidence that he's over the hill either.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: I'm I'm simply wondering, is this a draft drought or
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: something bigger than that? Right? Yeah? And I think, you know,
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: I go back a lot to like twenty twelve that
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: with the moving up twice to get to really impact
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: guys who you know, directly led to you know, Chandler
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: was Chandler you said it almost Okay, I was still
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: in my own head about that one. Um, you know,
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: he was only there for the first one. But you like,
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: I don't think we've seen that kind of aggression, you know,
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: in terms of the draft. And you know, but I
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: do think also too that some of those draft picks
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: that they hit on were you know, we're dicey and
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: you know, like it wasn't an easy slam dunk, and
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: you know, sometimes it just kind of worked out, you know,
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: like it wasn't necessarily that. You know, maybe if you
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: drafted Gronk in twenty eighteen and he never gets over
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: the back injury, you know, like like that that's a possible,
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: you know, and it's been like totally true. It's a
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: little bit of a different category. You drafted injured guy
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: and draft one and Gronky works out your draft one
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: and easily and he doesn't like that's not because the
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: game passed him by. He rolled the dice and whatever.
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: You know, sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. I'm
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: talking more about um, maybe the style of players that's
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: he's taken, like nikkil Harry to me, like to me
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: was there was a miss on what he could do physically.
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: And again I think it's more if I'm going to
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: take a wide receiver in the first round, he's going
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: to be able to do everything. He's gonna be able
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: to run, block and be physical and do except for
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: he can't get open and catch the ball, which is
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: what you tell me is your prerequisite for success as
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: you see if it starts so like that's to me,
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: what I'm talking about is maybe in two thousand and three.
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: He'd have been fine because you're not throwing the ball
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: every play, so the fact that he's catching twenty balls
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: isn't really killing you. You know, maybe he could have
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: been a guy who started slow and maybe worked his
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: way into like a David Gibbons role if you dress,
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: you know, back then, when you weren't throwing the ball
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: every single play the way they do now. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: and again that's probably not a good apples to apples comparison.
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: But I'm just saying the same kind of player, you
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: know back in the day. You know that you like
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: the High Tower. Maybe High Tower wouldn't be as good
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: if they drafted him today. Yeah, there's there's so two sixty,
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: there's just so much to impact with him. And you know,
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: but like he still has this encyclopedic knowledge of the
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: NFL and trends, and you know, he can look at
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: what teams are doing right now and he understands it.
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: I'm sure he can look at what He's just really
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: really smart, right he's you know, but but you know,
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: no word that starts with us that might qualify I
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: have another one surly, stubborn. Uh, that's that's that's that's
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: a good I think he looks at the trends around
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: the league and says that's not the way to do it,
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: and it has to work, like for three years in
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: a row, like say with Josh Allen. Now we probably
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: looked at Josh Allen a little bit differently than he
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: did back in twenty twenty when he told Lewis Riddick
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: and his boys, We're not not going to worry about there. Yeah,
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: you know, he had to get viscerated by him four
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: times before he said hmm, maybe he's better than I thought, right,
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: and well and and but you know, but to that point, like,
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: well what has changed though? You know, like even like
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: and I'm playing your side of the fence right now,
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: you didn't have an answer for Josh Allen this year.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: So the answer was to go to ray Kawa McMillan
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: and to bring Malcolm Butler and Terrence mitchellin like that,
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: like that's what we'd had to do. And I think
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: part of it, I think is he has faith in
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: the guys that, you know, the young guys that are unproven.
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: But I think the other part of that is like
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: he doesn't think that's that's sustainable, Like that's not the
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: way to do it, like you can't have Mahomes and
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: Allen running around and making plays and trucking guys Lamar
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: Jackson like, yeah, you can't do it that way, and
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: it'll come. I do think there's part of him is like, no,
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: that's not the way to do it. So he's not
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: gonna go out of his way to adjust to his
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: style that he doesn't think is maybe as good long term.
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: But there's a lot of yea suffer position. But I
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: think just my, my, my point of view on it
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: is just that he sees it all. He understands the
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: game at a level that none of us, none of
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: the fans, none of the media understand the game. Many
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: of the people and probably the league understand it. But
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: who do you think is the worst coach in football? Oh? God,
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, I'm sure all those at
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: the point you're trying to make they all understand exact Taylor.
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: Don't you think he understands the game at a level
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: that you couldn't possibly comprehend? No, probably, but probably probably.
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: Why don't know what I mean? You know, but it's
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: translating it from understanding what's going on to how can
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: we compete? And win in this environment, you know, And
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: and so I mean, I think it's a worthwhile debate.
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: And I know, I get, you know, pigeonholed as the
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: Belichick honk. I just I just think it's really cool
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: that the greatest coach of all time is still here.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: And you know it's not going perfectly right now for sure,
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: But how does he tack through all these things? And
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: I mean, you know, Paul's example of Buffalo is great.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: I mean, you know we all saw that they got
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: no answers against that team twice, a divisional team. I
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: mean when I talk in the off season, all I
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: bang is get ready for the division. Win the division.
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: The road of the playoffs goes through the division. You
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: can't beat miam anymore, and you can't beat Buffalo anymore.
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: So you know, what, what are you actually going to do?
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: Because it's not just going to be smoking mirrors anymore
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: that you beat these teams. You have to put a
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: team together with a plan. I'm sure they have a plan.
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: I know he's working his ass off. I know that,
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: but it doesn't mean that it's going to work or
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: that it's going to translate. And I still think Bill
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: can sit down and formulate a game plan better than
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: Sean McDermott, because I think he's a better, better coach
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: at his core than Sean McDermott is. But it doesn't
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: mean he can overcome the differences in the talent right right,
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: or or simply getting the guys to execute it, you know,
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: like even if you even because I still think that
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: that team that that ended the season last year was
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: better than what they put on the field, And I
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: honestly feel like that's more an indictment of the coaching,
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: you know, especially coming from me, than anything you know.
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: And I'm not trying to tell you that, oh, they
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: were so talented, but I do think I still believe
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: that coaching is able to bring certain teams like that
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: together if everybody's buying in, you know, the coaches, a
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: good coach can elevate a team. But they say it
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: all the time, right, players win games, coaches lose them.
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: So I mean I think that that that's true. I
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: agree that that the coach says that all the time.
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: I don't believe he believes it. For a second. Second
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: question from Alex is, do you have any second and
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: third year players that you're excited to see what they
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: can do. I think the defense is on the lighter
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: end of depth aside from safety in talent, we have
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: a lot of unproven talent, which makes this seem like
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: a volatile situation that can provide the core for the
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: future or a complete bust where the defense gets rolled
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: over again this season. I may be a little dramatic
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: with the core for the future or bust mentality, but
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: I'll stand on this hill currently m I'll throw Ronnie
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: Perkins in there, just because we didn't really get to
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: see much, if anything, at him, and I feel like
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: he's one of a small group of guys that kind
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: of play off the edge, that needs to kind of
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: have something. And the other guy, I'll say, is Dugger.
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: I mean, I know he's getting some stuff written about
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: him recently, other teams saying that they like him or
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: would want him. That's great, Like, I just he needs
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: to he needs to elevate to that level that people
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: are talking about him. I think we all think he
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: probably has that potential, but he's got he's another one.
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: I mean, this is the same thing. It's got to
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: it's got to translate, Like he has to become, you know,
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: a playmaker and How does he do that when you're
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: kind of mixing a match him with Adrian Phillips, you know,
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: maybe with Jabrill Peppers mccordy, Like, you know, he's one
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: of four potential safeties. How does he stand out in
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: that group? And you know, can he can he become
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: like the leader of that group when you know mccordy
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: is gone. Mark and Cheddar says, hey, guys, Alexandra and Tamara.
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: Alexandra's off today, great show recently. Two very quick points
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: from Tuesday. One when someone mentioned about not eating fish
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: and Alexandra, I think said grow up. I would. I
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: just wish Eric was still on the show to hear.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: That's my first thought. And two not that Eric will
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: be aware of the new helmet red Jersey ann announcement
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: unless it was on the news, unless it made the
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: new news. But if he is aware, I bet he
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: thinks it was a personal shot from the league to
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: do with the first season that he left. So my
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: picks for that second year thing, and I like Deuce's
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: pick of Ronnie Perkins, Um I would go Stevenson and Barmore.
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: No two guys that heck I thought good rookie years
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: that I'm anxious to see if they can make a
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: minus camera step up. I want to see what he
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: can do. So I am going to go offense. I am.
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to pick all of the free agents
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: that were signed. Can they do the second year? Yeah?
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: Free agent show? Yeah. I think for like Kendrick Bourne,
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: for example, we saw flashes, but I want to see consistency. Um.
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: I think that when you look at guys like Nelly
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: and Johnny Smith, it's like I want to see more.
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: I think Hunter Henry did his part, but I want
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: to see those three really show up and show out,
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: like not just one game, but every game. Yeah. Back
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: to the phones past five hundred. Sean's in Vancouver. What's
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: up Sean? Hey Tomara, I agree with you about washing
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: your feet and Fred I can relate to not wanting
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: to bend over it. It's difficult to reach sometimes. So
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: what I do is I sit down first and take
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: care of my feet. I use a tim of stone
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: for callouses and cream, and then I use the Dove
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: exfoliating ball at home Pedicaret. God, yeah, home Pedicare. I
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: don't have any callouses my feet or bottom. My feet
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: get dripped on with some silky water. I think that, Yeah,
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: that's washing your feet. What does you have like dirt
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: and grime right like you're wearing flip flops at like LOLLAPALU,
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: promise you fe don't smell I have when I get
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: out of the shower, I promise you. I have good No,
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: I have pretty good feet. That's one thing I have
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: going for me. Like they're not like your toenails really do.
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: Like it's like you take care of yourself. Yeah, I
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: got bad feet. You have bad feet. I have flat feet,
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: But I had it, I'm telling you. Soft as a baby.
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: I had a friend whose name will go unmentioned. He
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: had Matt. You want to feel the worst foot over Like,
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: I mean, it was like it would make you vomit.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: It was that bad. Was it just from like no?
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: He explained that like the cells on his skin didn't
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: like breathe. He didn't see, so all the bacteria would
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: just gather TJ's in the opposite then they sweat like crazy.
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so it was just the worst. And like
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: I wonder how to be in a car with him
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: and it's like, what's that smell? How does no socks
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: deal with it? Because no socks oh yeah, makes you
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: smell right absolutely when you don't wear socks all the
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: time the shoes, for I do sweat in the shoe
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: and it just And I had a specific like an
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: older pair of sneakers nikes that I used to wear
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: just coaching or like doing yard work, and they got
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: pretty pretty rank after a while. There were times like
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: I'd come home and I'd be sitting there, like after
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: the game, and I'd like, you know, you picked one
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: foot up your time and your shoe and you're like whoa, whoa,
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: what stinks? And you're looking like, oh man, that's me,
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: that's my foot, like the sneaker itself. Yeah. Yeah, So
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: that's when you're just gonna throw them out because you're
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: never gonna get rid of that. I can smell it
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: right now, like thinking about just that that coated foot
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: coaching slash, yard work sneakers gross. Well, but I'm in
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: short so like to wear sandals, So yeah, I guess
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: my feet with would smell if I didn't wash them.
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: Terrible and sandals though, because they your feet can breathe,
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: they're open. Yeah, it's true, yeah, yeah, but there is
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: nothing you know, like I love that. Sean just called
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: in to talk about. But some people it's just the
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: greatest show ever. Some people really do have a problem
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: footota problem. I mean it's a biological not that they
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: don't wash well, do you have? It has nothing to
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: do with that. But you know people that shower regularly
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: that just smell, Yeah, I do. I mean I worked
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: with one for years, Harold like, I mean bad, yeah, bad,
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: And he showered all I know when he showered. Yeah,
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: he just so I have another theory out to give
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: him a ride home once. Over the last five years
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: or so, there's been this rise of these you know,
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: clinically strong anti you know, deodorants, and my theory is
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: that they're weakening the normal deodorant. So people say, yeah,
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: this stuff isn't working for me anymore, so that you
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: pay more for the clinical deal. So how do you
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: feel about also give you less yea natural deodorance more
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: like the non aluminum deodorance. Yeah, I don't know. I
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: don't go into that. I use old spice by men.
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: I can't get into the natural deodorance. I'm like. I
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: also I'm under the the thought of like, oh, deodorant's
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: causing cancer. I'm like really, yeah, like being clean and
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: smelling good causes me. I don't want to I don't
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: want to go believe me, smell great. I have fun.
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: I love, I love what I do. I love my family.
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: But you know I would rather smell good than agree,
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: like some kind of like crystal that you just rub
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: on your armpit and expect it. No, no, give me chemicals. Well,
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: the other thing about deodorant, we have a finger in
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: the air. Getting You have to be careful, okay, because
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: you can buy anti perseprant, you can buy anti deodorant.
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: You need both, need both, You need one that does both.
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: I see that's like slimy armpits situation all day long
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: for me. If I just do Deodoran's so funny. How
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: many hang ups we all have. You have to get both.
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: You have to get the antipersperant and deodorant. So yeah, yeah,
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: but you have to read the label very carefully because
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: you're I don't make it apparent. You're right. Is it
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: white or is it colored? Both? White? Yeah? The white
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: I can't use, oh, because it leaves stains, makes me itchy,
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: makes it itchy. The color makes it anti perseprants in general,
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: I don't know if it's something that's in it. That's
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: a little different. Interest like the blue. It makes my
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: blue jelly kind of stuff, not jelly. It's a solid
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: just like the white, only it's usually like an ocean surf,
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: which wonderfully should try. Um. I haven't used it, but
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: it's effective. Yeah, I don't use it. Seems old school
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: to me. That's like if you're still like, I'll tell
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: you what I do extra dry. I'll tell you what
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: I do use in the summer, which I find very good.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: It's the gold bond body spray. Like it's a like
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: a it's not a deodorant, it's a you know, like
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: how you use baby powder to dry you off. Well,
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: this is a spray baby powder spray, but it's gold bond.
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: So he sprayed in certain areas keeps you, keeps you
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: from I could use. Does the call that a Chelsea shower?
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: When does the trade? No? Do you do it after
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: the show? Probably get arrested for saying that now, but
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: after the shell? Yeah? Yeah, I grew up in everywhere
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: people call it an every shower. I'm sure Eldred's in
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: North Carolina. What's up, Thouldred? Hey, ladies and gentlemen, how
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: y'all doing today good. I'm doing pretty good. Paul, gotta
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: get on that conversation that you and Deuced was having
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: a few minutes ago. Okay, which one go ahead about?
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: He just stubborn. I think that's what I think, because
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: the man is a genius. You know. I gotta give
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: his coach. He's a genius. You know. Yeah, But I
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: think you still think he can do it his way.
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: Were less guys instead of getting talent. So, like you said,
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: back the buffalo kicked my button four or five times,
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna find somebody stopped them. To Mike's point, he
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: really didn't do a lot um on the surface defensively
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: that you would say, oh so and so like Jabrill
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: Peppers was brought here to come back Josh Allen, I'm
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: not sure that that works. We needed a fourth work,
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: you know, and it wasn't like, well, well he didn't
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: have bad draft choices, but some of the guys he needed,
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: they was there. And I think it's down to money
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: and and you think this guy did he think you know,
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: you can do it? He can go to him in
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: they'd like the nixt guy. But like I said before,
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: you need an athlete sometimes instead of the blue. Yeah,
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: you need an athlete, yea, yeah, yeah, And then that's
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: a matter what I'm talking. I don't know what you know,
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: what the truth is, like, I don't you know. Bill
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: might laugh at us for saying that these kinds of things, um,
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: but it is part of like the economics of it, Like, yeah,
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: you could do it that way in two thousand and three. Now,
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: I think there's enough teams that have done it diametrically
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: opposite of the way the Patriots have done it over
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: the years and had plenty of success because you can
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: do it that way now. When the original structure of
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: the way the Patriots set up there, their salary structure,
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: that was the best way to do it. You know,
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: spread the money around, have a strong middle class, don't
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: tie up, you know, large percentages of your cap with
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: one guy. Well, now you could do that because you
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: have so much money to work with. Ten percent of
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: the cap now is a lot more money than ten
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: percent of the cap was then. But it's not the
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: same because there's so much more money to work with
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: and that other ninety percent. And I do think that
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: some of that, I think he's been a little slow
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: to to adjust too now, I don't know if that's
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: Bill being slow to adjust. I don't know if that's
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: something the way the Craps wanted run. You know, you
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: know that they believe in because I do think, like
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: I said, when they set it up that way, they
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: were far ahead of the curve. And I do think
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: that was part of their success, which is why I've
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: said to you, Fred, I haven't always been a cap
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: as crap guy, because in two two three, the cap
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: was not crap. It really mattered how you spent your money.
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: I just think as that that bottom line number has
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: risen exponentially, it's not as important anymore to make sure
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: you don't mess up. Yeah, Like you can be a
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: little bit reckless with your money. And if a guy
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: doesn't pan out like JOHNO. Smith last year didn't pan out,
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: they gave him a lot of money. They still won
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: ten games, they went to playoffs, Like would it have
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: been better if he panned out? Of course? Yeah? And
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: that's I mean. And and just like the bottom line
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: is they're either gonna win or they're gonna lose football games,
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: like they're either gonna have a way. I couldn't possibly
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: agree with that more, Fred, You know so it's they're
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: gonna win. I mean, it's it's I don't think there's
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: any gray area there. Non believe I hired it and
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: that's it, you know. I Mean the first year, you
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: could say, well, Cam Newton, post Brady, you gotta you
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: gotta gimme year. You're a couple of years moved. All right,
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: you needed a quarterball, right, you got a rookie quarterback.
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: You got that year out of the way. You've got
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: a bunch of free agents, and now it's all right,
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: We've already talked about the drafts from fifteen, sixteen seventeen.
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: Those equaled bad times in twenty twenty, twenty twenty one.
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: So now it's like, all right, we're we're post Brady,
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: We're a few years, You've gotten free agents. You know.
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: It's now now I feel like we're starting to get
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: real answers. And that's what it's like. I like that
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: they're gonna play a football season and the record is
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: gonna be what it's gonna be, you know. And and
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: certainly there's some nuance, and there was plenty of nuance
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: last year into how they won games and how it ended.
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: But still like they're gonna get some answers. They Mike
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: at least looks at it rationally. I think a lot
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: of people that are just died in the world. Patriots
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: fans the Bill can do no wrong. In Bill, we
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: trust crowd. They don't want the games to be played.
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: They just want to continue to say right. Everything Bill
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: does is right. Because when you go, you know, three
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: years now and be five hundred, you know, sort of
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: the last half of that, Brady, or it's two and
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: a half full seasons. Now that you're five hundred, I
- 1:56:21Speaker 1: think you're actually two games under. They don't want that
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: that that that's in't suit there no, no, no Bills
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: build it into this to give him time. Got to
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: give him time to build it, you know. Yeah. Um,
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: let's see Tom in the UK will finish up with
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: this email. Loving the recent shows on food choices, films
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: and TV shows throwing my opinion in on a director
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: whose films I always watch, Wes Anderson. Yeah, I absolutely
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: love his style if you haven't watched them. The classics
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: like Royal Tannenbaum's Grand Budapest Hotel and Worth Ago. My
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: favorite is Life Aquatic with Steve Suzoo. I love that movie.
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: These guys make fun of me for it. I don't
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: make fun of you. I just never I heard of it.
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: I just never saw it. He always is the same
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: you actors like Bill Murray, Adrian Brody, and Jason Schwartzman. Anyway,
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: my offseason question is, if you could only pick one
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: band or artist to listen to for the rest of
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: your life, who would it be? Mine? For anyone who
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: cares as a British band called All Jay whatever that
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: I've heard of them. I'd also throw Wes Anderson Bottle
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: Rocket his first movie in with with Owen Wilson and
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: Luke Wilson, and I thought that movie was awesome too,
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: But yeah, he's totally a guy that has his own
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: style and yeah that great stuff. Fire, Oh god, it's
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: it's tough. That would be yours. Yeah, Now, I wouldn't
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: be happy listening to one right group. My whole life
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: so crazy by the Rocky four soundtrack. But if I
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: had to pick something that would be something that's going
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: to put me in a good movie, I think I
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: would have to, you know, pick a band or an
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: artist that has a huge library, a huge selection, so
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: and I'd probably say the Beatles. You know, I'm going
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: to Metallica specifically. Wow, yes, I stand man, like every
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: Defense summer too. But yeah Italica, you're a big heavy
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: metal person. No, but interstand man. So you're just saying
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: one song. I could listen to that every single Okay,
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with led Zeppelin because I feel like
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: they can cover the gamut of of good acoustic chill rock.
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: I could go with everything, but the Beatles. You're making
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: out you definitely want to put one somebody with a
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: big Yeah, led Zeppelin for that's that's not on. It's
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: a good one. I mean immigrant song. I mean they
- 1:58:40Speaker 1: they have so many great, great tunes. But yeah, yep,
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: I love them. Okay, all right, Well that's gonna be
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: it for this edition of Patriots Unfiltered. Um. I hope
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: Billy Joel that's a big bad. Um. I hope everyone
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: has a good weekend. I will not be back next
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: week at all. I'm on VAK. How long were you
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: holding out on that? Yeah, so we have to figure
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: out who's going to host next week. I say I'm
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: looking at you, Tamara, I mean Samara and Alextras. I
- 1:59:11Speaker 1: ain't hosting, all right, we'll see you next Tuesday, all right,
