- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I am Lucas. Luna: And I am Luna. It is good to be here again. Lucas: Today we are looking at motion. Not walking or running. But cycling. Luna: Oh, I love cycling. In Norway, it feels very different from the city. Lucas: It does. So our first word is the verb for cycling. It is å sykle. Luna: Å sykle. Let me try that. Å sykle. Lucas: Perfect. Now let us put it in a sentence. We say: jeg sykler i skogen. Luna: Jeg sykler i skogen. I cycle in the forest. Lucas: Yes. That is a very common scene. Just you and the trees. Luna: It sounds peaceful. Can we say it is nice to cycle? Lucas: We can. The phrase is: det er fint å sykle. Luna: Det er fint å sykle. Yes, that flows well. Lucas: Now, sometimes when you cycle, you see water moving fast. Luna: Like a river? Or a waterfall? Lucas: Both. In Norwegian, there is a specific verb for rushing water. It is å fosse. Luna: Å fosse. That sounds strong. Like force? Lucas: Exactly. It comes from the same root as force. So if water is rushing down, you say: vannet fosser ned. Luna: Vannet fosser ned. The water rushes down. Lucas: Right. And this verb is not just for water. You can use it for people too. Luna: People? How do people fosse? Lucas: When you leave a place very quickly. Like a crowd exiting. We say: vi fosser ut av huset. Luna: Vi fosser ut av huset. We rush out of the house. Lucas: Yes. It implies speed and energy. Much faster than going. Luna: I like that. It paints a picture. So we have two verbs today. Lucas: We do. Let us review them slowly. First, the cycling one. Luna: Å sykle. Lucas: Good. And the full sentence about the forest. Luna: Jeg sykler i skogen. Lucas: Excellent. Now the opinion on cycling. Luna: Det er fint å sykle. Lucas: Very good. Now for the water verb. Luna: Å fosse. Lucas: Correct. And the description of the waterfall. Luna: Vannet fosser ned. Lucas: Perfect. And finally, the people rushing out. Luna: Vi fosser ut av huset. Lucas: You nailed it. Those were six solid phrases. Luna: It felt easy. Because they are so visual. Lucas: That is the key. Connect the word to the image. Luna: Before we go, I have a small request. Lucas: What is that? Luna: Can we take a moment to talk about how we make this show? Lucas: Of course. We want this to stay free for everyone. Luna: We deliberately do not run ads on these episodes.
