- 0:02SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Technical difficulties.
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: Hollywood go.
- 0:21SPEAKER_02: Hollywood goes Hollywood Go.
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: Go.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Mike Blitz.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: We are halfway through the season.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Mike Wade, co-host over there, Mike White.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: What's up, man?
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: How you doing?
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: I'm good, man.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: How are you?
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Oh man, what a crazy week of football.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Crazy, crazy, crazy.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Crazy, crazy week of football.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Uh lots to talk about.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: But you know, in the meantime, how are you, man?
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: How was your how obviously not the Tennessee game, but how was your weekend otherwise?
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: How you been since the last time we talked?
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Oof.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Oh man.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: I told you before we even started recording this show that I'm off college football.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: There's nothing like nothing like a devast, nothing like a devastating loss to really send you tilted.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: What'd you that would do the wife and kids this weekend?
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Do you guys do anything else besides uh watch football?
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Uh, what did we do?
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: We we were busy.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Um, we went to Lindsay's parents for a little bit.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, we uh did some Halloween y stuff, started decorating front looks great, got some spooks up, some ghouls, yes.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Yes, yeah, excited for that.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: We did some of that too.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: We went to uh Lloyd Family Farms, not a sponsor could be the pumpkin patch, did the uh the hay ride, um the corn maze, the corn pit, like got super fall.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Although I gotta tell you, it didn't feel like fall because it was like 81 degrees in the sun in the corn maze.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: And that corn maze is huge.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: And at one point I was pushing the stroll, I was pushing Anders in the stroller, and it's like off-roading in that thing.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: I was like, this is just a workout, this is not fall at all.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Like, I do not want a pumpkin spice latte right now.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: I don't want to Gatorade.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: So yeah, yeah.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Is it really Jafiel?
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, has not really gotten there yet.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Otherwise, um, pretty nice because LSU was a lot of buy, so I was more um casual observer.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Um, so so yeah, good stuff.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Uh, I guess we have nothing else left to do.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Should we go ahead and get into the uh the autopsy of week six?
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, people people want to talk some ball.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: All right, let's give the people what they want.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: All right, so we are looking back at week six.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, the top start with the top line.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Five of the top 11 go down.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Um, two of them were on bye.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: So if you count, if you take those equations, more than half of the top 11 teams uh went down.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Um, Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Uh help me out.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Who am I missing?
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Uh Missouri.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Missouri and who was the other one?
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Michigan today.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Somebody in there.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: We'll get to it at some point.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Um, it's it was a it was a bloody weekend.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: A lot of top teams going down.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Um, I was gonna ask you right away like, is this what happened this week?
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Was it just uh phenomenon?
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Has there is there more parody in the sport happening?
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: What do you uh attribute this week?
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Weird week was people looking ahead until next week, this coming week, which is like the best week of college football ever.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: What happened this past weekend?
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: I do think you have to you have to agree that there is more parody.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't think this is kind of a one-off.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: I think we're we've seen it across the board, even when you just look at the eye test, right?
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: Like when you look at the best teams in college football, you might have one or two, you know, head and shoulders above the rest.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: And this goes back to last year, too, but you've got a big chunk of that, like, you know, three through 15 that you know anybody could take anybody at any given time.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: And that's not always been the case.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: You don't have a single, you know, just head and shoulders above the rest.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: I think you're right.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: I think you're honest on you.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: I think one of the positive externalities of, depending on where you how you look at it, you know, because of the transfer port, because of NIL, because of the speed of which players can dissipate to places and get on the field, the gap between the top and maybe not the tip top, maybe not the Ohio State, Texas, although we'll talk about them, is smaller.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Like I think on any given, on any given Saturday, crazy happened.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: Like Diego Pavia, the New Mexico State transfer, played his heart out and took Vanderbilt to beat Alabama.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: We couldn't fathom that five years ago, 10 years ago.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Um, well, that wouldn't happen under Statement.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: It wouldn't happen under Saban.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: That would be a different story.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: That's a different story, which we'll talk about as well.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: I think there, you're seeing that.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: I think more players are getting to more places.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: So you're seeing better teams.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: I feel like in the past, with the one year, obviously the NCAA with a lot had a lot more rigidity in their rules once upon a time.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: The sit out a year, NIL wasn't really a thing.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Transfers were kind of a blue and moon more situation.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: So some of these teams, uh, you know, during that golden era 10, 15 years ago, Clemson, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, they could just stockpile talent.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: And, you know, the Hayden Hookers of the world or the Kyron Joneses or the Joe Burrows that couldn't move somewhere else easily to get somewhere else, didn't happen.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: So what you're seeing is more um just the like I said, the meaty middle or the lower half.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Those teams are better, and the teams at the top just can't stockpile the talent like they used to.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: That's that's kind of just what happened to me.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh, you can't keep a five-star, you know, defensive tackle and just mold him for four years until he's a senior.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: I mean, he doesn't have to sit out a year.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: He can go start right away at a team that maybe is one or two pieces away for competing for a national championship, and especially at a position like you know, the quarterback spot.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, you can have guys who just take over games and or boost a program into that next stratosphere.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: And that's, I mean, that is fun.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: It's fun to see these upsets.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: It's fun for these wild, unpredictable games to happen.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Um, that's one of the things we love about college football is the chaos.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Uh and each week, you know, we're still recalibrating and kind of reassessing who these teams are as they continue to grow and change throughout the season.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: And that's just another thing we love about the game.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, it is a different game week to week.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: Uh, you could be seeing it's just wildly unpredictable with 18 to 21-year-old kids, uh, numerous factors just to give us this this this outcome.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: That's the other thing.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: It is super hard for night to expect to expect high-level consistency at 19-year-olds is unrealistic.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: I don't care what you're doing.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, whether it's football, accounting, dance, art, music, it's just hard to expect that kind of continual continuity, uh, uh consistency throughout.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: But we'll move on to that.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Um, but that said, uh, there might be more coming.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Mike, let me ask you a question.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna give you four wins.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Uh which of these gives you the warm and fuzzies that you're really excited about?
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Beating Michigan, 31-12, beating Iowa, 35 to 7, beating Boise, 37-34, or beating Cal, 39-38.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Do any of those wins make you feel like, wow, that's really, really impressive?
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Do any of those get you that excited?
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think any of those really move the needle at this point.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: I think we're still, I think we're still looking to figure out, like I said, who some of these teams are, and and some of those wins might mean more later in the season.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: You know, if Boise State continues to go on the run they're going on, uh, if Michigan continues to fall, I mean, they're they're they're prone to lose one, maybe two more at least.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Uh, we still don't know anything about Cal, but that certainly doesn't uh resonate or move the needle a whole lot.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, I mean, I don't know, maybe Boise State, just because they're on the hot streak that they're on and have a potential Heisman winner.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: For those who didn't catch on, the Michigan win is the best one win on Texas resume.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: Iowa, uh, that's uh Ohio State.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: The Boise wins the best thing on Oregon's resume, and Cal is the best win on um uh Miami's resume.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Those are four, the top, those are four of the top five unbeatons.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: You could add Penn State in there, the West Virginia win they had.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: My point is of the five undefeated teams at the top, none of those teams are really have a signature win.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Now I realize this is the last week we'd say that because Oregon, Ohio State is coming up next, and one of those teams deep into comedy.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: We are getting deep into it, but as of now, even at the top top, uh the the unbeatons, none of them have done anything to say to me, well, they are a top five team.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: They have convinced everybody in the world that they should be a top five team because the things they have done where we are on October 8th aren't that that not necessarily that impressive yet.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: So yeah, we will see.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: And and and I think right now, what we have to go on is more so like the eye test, right?
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: Like, even though Miami's best win might be that Cal game, I mean, they could have easily lost several games by now.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's a lot of questionable ACC officiating going on with the the win against the hokies again in that cow game.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: Um, they haven't looked that based on the eye test, I'm not sure they are who we thought they were at this point in the season.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: It's a good reference.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: You tell me.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: I tell me.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Love it.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: Uh all right, we're gonna bring something new today.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: This is uh we're gonna do a little trivia in today's game, brought to you by TriviaThodan Online.com, your favorite place for all things uh virtual trivia with your team and workplace.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Mike, I'm gonna ask you a trivia question.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: There are 12 undefeated teams in the country left.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm gonna see how many you can name in 30 seconds.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Ready, set, go.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: Penn State, Ohio State, your Ruggers, uh Indiana, yep, Oregon, yep.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: That's all the big 10 teams, Texas, yep.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: Miami, yep, state?
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: Nope.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: Nope.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Move on, move on.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: You got half, you got six.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: So uh BYU, Iowa State, Pitt, your pit panthers, and then Army, Navy, and Liberty are your three.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: So we are getting about pit too.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: We are getting down to it.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: Uh, there's uh aren't that many uh teams left.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: So we've we've got 12, you know, we're kind of getting the picture, the the playoff picture, who's gonna be contending for spots is getting clear, clear.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: On the flip side, there are three winless teams.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: Any shot on who those are?
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: Three teams country 0 and 5.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: That would be your Kennesaw State Owls, I believe.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: The UTEP minors and Kent State Golden Flashes are your three uh Kent's the Golden Flashes, right?
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Kent State R?
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think so.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Those are your three winless teams at 0 and 5.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: The good news, Mike, is Kennesaw is playing UTEP, so one of them will get a win.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: Um, so one of them all eyes will be on eyes on the week 11 matchup of Kennesaw at UTEP.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but we're gonna see an 0-12 team this year, which is uh a bummer for one of those squads.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Um absolutely insert.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Uh let's get to the actual games.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Uh Ashton Genty is absurd.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Regg for 190 yards and a half.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Uh, he is well on his way towards Barry Sanders' 2600 yard mark, which he hit in 1980, whatever it was.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: He's gonna get pulled a lot.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Um, he he only played the first half and he still got 190 yards, three touchdowns.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: I think the opening play was like a 60-yard touchdown run, just a thing of beauty.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: Uh and give me your Ash and Genty takes, please.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: He should be the the clear favorite right now to win the highest.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: I don't I haven't looked at the odds.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: I don't know what they say right now.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: They've gone up and down every week.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Obviously, Jalen Milro was was high up there.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Now he's down.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: Uh Cam Ward has been pretty high up there the all year.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I mean, it should be at this point kind of a no-brainer.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: Barring injury.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: That's yeah, that's what it's gonna, that's probably what it's gonna take.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Or he might get pulled a lot.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: Obviously, the Mountain West competition is not what it was.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: I think he gets a lot of credit.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: He almost single-handedly beat Oregon in week two.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: Um, Oregon needed that special teams touchdown really to win.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: If he had gotten that, I think it really would have cemented him.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna ask you about the G5.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: So Ash and Genty seems to be the headliner of the G5 right now, Boise.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Outside of him, who would you what would you like to see as that for that last G5 spot?
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: If you could wave a magic wand and do anything you want, any team, any matchup, any scheme, any playstyle, certain school, what would you like to see in that G5 playoff spot outside of Boise and Ash and Genty?
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Uh, I think one interesting thing to see would be an army uh team.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: Or, you know, uh, I I just part of me wants them to run the table and so we can have this conversation at the end of the year.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: Um, to see their play style, to see, you know, how someone, a team with such a talent disparity might match up and and play in that setting would be awesome.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love that.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Or it would just be a bloodbath and everybody would be like, what are we doing?
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, honestly, if they get if they go there, if what either one of those schools goes 13-0, I don't care what they did, I don't care what they look like, get them in there.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, the American the American AAC is a respectable conference, and again, that includes beating Notre Dame, who I think is going to be a 10 winner and a much better talented, you know, on paper talented teams.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: If Army or Navy beat Notre Dame, run the table, win the AAC championship against presumably a pretty darn good uh two-lane, get them in there.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: That's a darn good resume.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: And I don't care for who they get matched up with.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Um, I love that.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Speaking of which, um, are you feeling more patriotic these days?
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: Army and Navy for the first time since 1943, I believe, are five and oh.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: So we're talking Army Navy every week until something changes.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: What does that say about our um military service academies?
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Whatever they're doing, man, they they got something, they got something right.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: Uh uh Kyle Horvath, the quarterback for um Navy, is awesome.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: I think he's leading the I think he's leading the country in efficiency or QBR at the moment.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, both teams are just really well coached.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: Obviously, it helps you talk about retention.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: You know, obviously in the golden era of college football, 10 years ago, we could you keep somebody army and navy still doing that because those guys are all signed officers going on to serve in the military.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: These teams are loaded with seniors.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: Maybe we're seeing that too.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: It's a unique phenomenon that's not happening in most places because they either move on, they transfer, take money.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: I know it's a different sport, but um, when you look at kind of the college basketball landscape, you know, you have to kind of have an older team these days.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: And maybe you can plug in a transfer or two, you know, maybe a young freshman.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: But like the teams that you see make these runs are these, you know, senior laden teams with a lot of you know, a lot of playtime.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: Um, so it's really interesting when when you when you you know contrast it against the transfer transfer portal era that you're you're talking about.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean it's your point's well taken.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: I mean, UConn, those guys were all from this is not a basketball podcast, but it could be, who knows?
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: I mean, Yukon was full of seniors the last two years, which is why they won.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: Purdue, obviously, you lost national championship with Zach Eady.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: Those guys they had a lot of guys in their team that were there for a long time.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: Now, obviously, in college basketball, the the the talent is concentrated with only five guys on the on the court, but I still think you're seeing it to a certain extent with Army and Navy.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: When you've got guys, especially who play such disciplined, know your assignment role football.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: If you're if you're looking at eye candy, if you're not in your gap, Army Navy is the perfect school, the perfect scheme to exploit that.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: So good in the troops.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: God bless the troops, man.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: I hope they uh I hope they keep rolling.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: Uh ACC power pit, Eli Holstein, another nice day.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Uh on the road beating UNC, 25, 41, 300 yards, three touchdowns and pick.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: First five and oh start since Dan Marino.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: You and I were three and four years old.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: So talking way back for pit.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Um, are they gonna go nine and oh?
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: Uh their next four games are Cal, Syracuse, UVA, all at home, and at SMU, which I think is gonna be a doozy, but before I think before they face a Miami or a Clemson, are we looking at a nine and oh pit?
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Are you are you buying the Nardoozy experience right now, Mike?
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: I am because I think there's another conversation that needs to be had here.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: The ACC is terrible.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Full stop.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: Go on.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: The class of the conference is Miami, who has looked worse and worse seemingly every week.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Clemson's still still very strong, despite our many attempts to put them into the garbage can.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: They keep coming back.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Obviously, they've got the talent.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: Who else do you have in the ACC?
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Tell me.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: It's yeah, I mean, it's then I mean, I'm we should talk, we're gonna talk about SMU here in a second.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: I really like them.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: I think they're moving up the ranks a little bit, and obviously Pitt's undefeated.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: You know, you're you you play who you're on your schedule.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: If you keep beating, they're gonna keep winning.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: But I mean, it seems like a 3-4 team race, you know, right now.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: I understand, I understand Pitt is uh is undefeated, but you put them against any middle of the road, middle of the pack, SEC team, and you tell me who comes out on top four out of five times.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay, okay, point well taken, point well taken.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: Uh speaking of which, let's go ahead and jump into the uh let's go ahead and jump into the um SMU game that we were talking about earlier.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: Oh shoot, lost my notes.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Um SMU, uh, another big win.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: They are now four and one.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: They have really nicely rebounded.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: So obviously, Preston Stone was supposed to be the starting quarterback going to the year.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: He was on some preseason watch lists.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: I put him in some of our prediction prediction prediction podcast episodes to talk about how high I was on him and SMU.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: They lose uh that ugly game to uh BYU early, which has aged like a fine wine.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: BYU also undefeated, five and oh.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: Um pretty good.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: They switched to Kev to Kevin Jennings, who plays a different kind of more dual threat type of offense, uh, as opposed to Preston Stow's more pocket passer, and they are killing people.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Very impressive win against Louisville.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: I think my SMU take I put to I put to bed early.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: I'm bringing it back.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: I think SMU is right back in the thick of it.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: Um, what's going on with SMU?
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: Give me your SMU takes.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Jennings looked really good.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: He carried them at times.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: He was doing it all, he was taking over with his legs.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Um, Louisville tried to claw their way back in that game.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: Um, Shuck, uh, Tyler Shuck showed some really good things.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, SMU just looked to be the better team, even when Louisville had some momentum um and some turnovers really cost them as well.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: But um, yeah, that was a fun one.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: Um, I got it wrong.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: I I picked Louisville.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: I thought I felt good about Louisville in that game.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: But I think with Jennings, yeah, it gives gives SMU a little something different, and they could be pretty dangerous um just based on his play alone.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: They're gonna win a lot of games.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: One of the reasons we liked him the preseason was their schedule, and their schedule sets up pretty well, still does, especially now that they have they're really back where they started.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: They just kind of had that slip up with BYU.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: They now have a new star quarterback and they still have a very favorable ACC schedule.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: So you might be looking at a 10 and two, maybe 11 and one, although I doubt that.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: SMU team coming down the stretch really challenging for the ACC.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: So good or Rhett Lashley, awesome coach, doing the good work.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and just looking ahead at their schedule Stanford, Duke, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Virginia, Cal.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: Uh, so that that pit game might be really interesting, but I mean, yeah, you're looking at a potential playoff team right now.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: You're looking at a lot, you're looking at a lot of very uh winnable games.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Uh moving on.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: Uh Missouri is soft.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: We were right, we saw that coming.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: We called them frauds, they were frauds.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: I expect them to lose.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: I did not expect them to get the doors blown off them the way they did um against Texas AM.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: Because just because of what happened, because Missouri is not that good, and because there's because they they lost so bad, and they're probably gonna lose pretty badly to Alabama and maybe Oklahoma later.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Kind of putting them to bed.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: But what I want to talk more about is uh Texas AM sitting alone at the top at 3-0 in the SEC.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: SEC wins are hard to get, and they've already got three of them.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: They're they're on top of the conference.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Um, their only two really tough games are LSU and Texas, both at home.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: They go at South Carolina, probably very winnable.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: Auburn at home, winnable.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: Mississippi State, they will win with their C team.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: Give me your AM thoughts.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: Are they back in the mix?
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: Are they are they are they threatening?
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: They look they look the part.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're definitely in the mix.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: They deserve to be in the mix, and they're gonna be in the mix for two more weeks.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: Um, that LSU game is gonna be pivotal, pivotal.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: South Carolina going to going at you know, at cocky.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: That might be a sneaky tough one.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, that that end of the year game at Texas or hosting Texas, I should say.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, they've got some big ones down the stretch, but right now they've they're in a good position.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: They're a really good position.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: Did you happen to see that tweet about the guy who posted the um Stub Hub uh outline of Kyle Field for that game?
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Seats for the Texas Texas AM game, which is those of you who don't know, was a rivalry that they played for million, many years.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Texas AM joined the big the SEC in 2012, stopped playing for a long time.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: This is the first time they've seen each other in a regular season a long time.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Um, tickets are well over a thousand dollars just for the nosebleed.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: So it's if Texas and Texas AM are as good as we think they are, and they're both and they arrive at that game at 11 and 1, 10 and 2, you're talking about a monster, monster matchup to end the season.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: So that'd be really exciting.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, AM is completely obsessed with the University of Texas.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's a little weird.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: It's for a school with AM's kind of profile and stature and what they do, yeah.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: Um, they really shouldn't have this little brother complex that they have.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: It's kind of embarrassing.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Like, come on, man, get over it.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Like, you can be your own school.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: Like, even when you we I went to a Tennessee game there, and you know, they they sing songs about Texas when they're not even playing them.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Like, come on, like I don't know.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: AM fans chime in, defend yourselves, but please, you know, it's just just be better.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're having a good season.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: You got a great coach, you've got a good quarterback, you got your guys, move on.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Uh, South Carolina, Ole Miss.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: Um, I was way off on this one.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: I loved South Carolina plus nine and a half.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: I forgot how painful their offense is to look, watch.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Um, uh Shane Beamer, the fake punt was woeful.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: Um, Lenora Sellers, I like some things that he does.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: I like the physical things that he could do, but it's just their offense, they just don't have it.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: Um, and that's all this really came down to for me.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it seems like they trick you once or twice a year and then go back to being terrible.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: And if you get it right, you look like a genius, but they are back to being terrible.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: And they might even sneak up on somebody at home uh one time this year, but we'll see.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: I think yeah given the defense, given Williams Bryce, given Shane Beamer's willingness to kind of sell out and go for the win and play recklessly they're they're probably they're gonna bite somebody.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: They almost bit LSU.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: Um I think you're right about that.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: Nebraska smothered ruckers.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: Uh it was 14-0 ruckers got a late touchdown 14-7.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: Um I really like Nebraska's defense.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: I thought Ruckers defense actually played pretty well as pretty great as well.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Nebraska didn't let Kyle Manungay get going at all.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: I was sad to see uh fighting uh Greg Ciano's uh Tennessee's favorite coach uh go down uh but uh Nebraska's offense at most also has a ways to go Dylan Royola true freshman he'll get there he's not there yet yeah I the only my only notes on this game was that I really had a missed opportunity to rub this one in your face.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: I know we didn't talk about this enough and it kind of went under under my radar um so I guess suck it.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: Fair enough.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: Rutgers probably has more losses on their schedule yeah ruckers has more loss on their schedule so don't worry the opportunity's probably not it's not lot not lost but uh tough first loss on the road uh in Lincoln uh let's talk about the let's talk about one of the big ones uh Vandy getting it done 60 can we talk about Vandy oh and 60 coming into uh top five teams against uh AP uh AP top five teams get their first win um kind of my initial thoughts i mean one just colossal win one of the earth shattering crazy unpredictable outcomes that is college football especially against a team as talented Alabama um love what Diego Pavia is doing um he played this game wasn't close they played it they played a great game they were they were ahead the whole time dominated time of possession first downs I was watching this game I watched it again on replay earlier Diego Pavia was going through his third fourth and fifth read and finding the right guys that this was not like a obviously the pick six off the helmet was a nice break but like for the most part it wasn't like a oh lucky breaks the ball bounce weird this they beat them they soundly beat them um yeah give me your Vandy uh baby well first off we have to be really excited for Vandy who um has recently passed surpassed their uh preseason uh over under win total uh which anchor down no doors but yeah I think you're right they um they they look sound um pavia has been a shot in the arm they play good defense um and they just they beat Bama Bama tried to surge back and kind of um establish themselves but bandy was pretty comfortable that that whole game and um they did it in every way you could think of this was not like a a couple fluke fumbles short fields um and it the only thing that's a shame is that half that stadium was filled up with Bama fans it was a home game it was a it was Bama North they were um against missed out on an opportunity to storm the field which they still did but um yeah not the same not the same and they took the uprights to the river through the river fire department got it out they're gonna chop the pieces love all that stuff another interesting stat I saw this um I think the last I think it was seven or eight teams to beat Bama at home have stormed the field dating back to like 2016 or something.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah I believe that that's pretty my tigers did it your vols did it so yeah absolutely um uh to say so bigger picture um Calen De Boer uh you know the highest high you had it last week beating Georgia colossal win your fourth game as Alabama head coach life in Tuscaloosa will never be better than the moment after that game losing to Vanderbilt is unspeakable to that right to that team um does Saban have I I think you both agree this Saban doesn't have a one loss in his eleven is what how many I mean yeah that's 17 years he was there he doesn't have a single loss as bad as this does he uh yeah uh it's not quite as bad because of where the program got handed to de Boer but Saban's first year at home he lost to UL Monroe Monroe game but that will I mean I yeah you almost was worse and I was at home but those weren't his guys and that was like him just getting there establishing no yeah yeah but it's worth bringing up I don't think it's necessarily as bad because of where the program is right now.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah I mean I'll be this this nobody thought that 2007 Alabama team was very was going to be any good this Alabama team is supposed to compete for a national championship would be a playoff contender.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: So what's your what's what's what's your mindset right now if you're a Bama fan put yourself in their disgusting shoes.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: Ah the realistic fans are going to say we just had the greatest football coach of all time coach come to our team we knew it was not going to be as good as that nothing will ever be as good as that so there has to be some regression there has to be some woes some bumps in the road that's this you can't have un you can't have unrealistic such unrealistic expectations put on Debore.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: That's what the rational ones are saying Alabama's got a lot of fans and we all do that are not rational that are not and I'm wondering right away like there's gonna be donors making calls they're gonna be pounding I'm not saying he's in the hot seat.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying anything like that but like the chirping is going to get really uncomfortable really fast.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: And Bama's got really tough sledding these next three weeks including going to Knoxville, Baton Rouge, um a couple other places where winning is tough.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: So um and that defense all of a sudden especially the secondary looks suspect.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: So I'm I wonder what I wonder what this means.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: The irrational ones to your answer your questions um Calen DeBore is not having as good a week this week as he had last week.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: I'll say that yeah yeah Tuscaloosa not a great place to be right now.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: A couple side notes um did you see uh I you watched this game did you happen to catch the illegal numbering call?
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Exactly so as you guys I'm sure you I'm sure you know I knew this ahead of time you can't have two players with the same number on the field at the same time sometimes offensive guys and defensive guys both have the same special teams special teams too so Alabama got called on it for this game they had two guys on defense that both came out in number two and the guy came that ref the umpire came out and called this an illegal numbering which I had never seen before I never heard before I didn't know the I didn't know that was what it was called so five yard penalty on Bama for illegal numbering uh something new every day.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Uh last thing on this game is Diego Pavia your favorite non-vol in college football this year and if it's not him who is it I think it's genty honestly yeah genty's really fun it's hard not to reprog I mean Pavia what he's done is awesome um genty's pretty high up on my list uh who else would be there I don't know that's a good question he's definitely genty definitely genty is awesome up there Pavia has endeared himself to me as well I love that everything runs through him I mean he's he's a huge part of the run game spreading the ball out I love the way he plays his attitudes gamer uh I just he's easy he is easier route for even though he's an SEC opponent in the future uh moving on uh I am off the UCF bus.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: Uh Florida beat them not impressed by Florida I still think they stink and we'll talk about Florida Tennessee in a minute um but UCF that running game case jefferson's a bad fit DJ Lagway throws a really pretty pretty ball but I'm off the UCF uh bus for sure they're they're not gonna win the big 12 what are your uh yeah they were they were gaining a little steam they were you know looking to kind of take the step as maybe a a sneaky team and then full's gold and I will say this DJ Lagway I think are he throws a really nice ball he came in I don't know why Napier is doing this is one of the reasons why he's gonna get fired.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: I think next week I think some of my takes we'll talk about in a second we'll talk about the Tennessee Florida game I think Tennessee as a as a silver line to what happened last week they're gonna be the team to put the the nail in the coffin for Napier he's still doing this dual quarterback thing in Gainesville is it makes no sense stop doing that start this is why you're gonna lose your job man because you don't know what you're doing.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: I will say the first job the first task of whoever is going to take his place whether it's Lane Kiffin somebody the G5 level level I mean there's we'll have lots of fun talking about the future Florida coach their first job is to get lag way to stay because I really do think he's really good and I think his he was a five star for a reason.
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: Get convincing him to stay on campus is going to be absolute priority one a for whoever the next uh coach is uh you uh UW not that great soundly beat Michigan uh Michigan down to their third or fourth quarterback they lost by 10 points um I can't believe I asked you last week if they if Michigan could muck it up enough to be Oregon that was a stupid question the answer of course no you appropriately answered that congrats on the Natty C in 2025 Michigan is cooked I'm done I'm UCF Michigan Ohio State I'm sorry Oklahoma State these are all teams I'm just burying I'm I'm over I'm not talking about anymore they stink any you dub Michigan takes uh no I think you have to be able to throw a forward pass or you have to be able to run a gimmicky enough run-based offense uh like a triple option that no one you know sees week to week where you're getting cut block and different things um something this is not the era of you know line it up and just run the ball you have to be able to make big plays throw the ball down the field they can't do that period uh Miami needed an epic comeback I don't watch this game because it started uh game day went to uh Berkeley for the Miami uh at Cal game it was a crazy game the game ended up 38-39 uh Miami needed a massive comeback to throw the way back credit to Cam Warden and Cain for getting it done this is two weeks of very questionable uh play out of Miami and super questionable officiating both these games could have been easily lost so we could be easy very easily talking about a four and two Miami or three inch games they played so far.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah does Miami still have the inside track for you like if you're putting your money down right now on who wins the ACC I'm I'm start I'm starting to think it might be Clemson.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: Who who has the inside track in the ACC for you?
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah I'm definitely leaning Clemson at this point.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: I think I mean Miami still has a a lot of NFL talent and a lot of a lot of big play ability um you know Cam Ward is still a a really good quarterback he really didn't play well um against Virginia Tech and still down the stretch found a way to take over the game and quote unquote win it whatever that means for them.
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah but I think Clemson is looking like the more complete team right now.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: And better coach I mean we say this a lot Mario Cristobal for a game day manager doesn't seem to be a I don't know what it I don't know why he couldn't get his team to get motivated until the second half I mean kudos for doing that usually he's not good at second half adjustment which is why I thought everybody who stayed up until like midnight Eastern when it was about halftime they were down what 35 to 10 they buried and they thought it was over kudos to rallying but like why were you in that position again after you were last week against Virginia Tech last week Miami and Cal's not a good team no I mean they're solid they're solid I mean they've got some five they got some things going for them Jay not's all right but like in general they're not the superpower that anybody should be particularly worried about.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: All right let's move on to the homers LSU was on a bye they got old miss coming UVA was getting punched in the mouth by a really physical Boston college team andrew my guy from St.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: Christ went saw a local kid he had a couple caught four balls for 25 yards huge bounce back comeback get the win um they held the defense Boston college under thir uh 350 yards uh malachi fields and Jonas senker probably their best players wide receiver and safety both made plays Malachi Fields beautiful touchdown cast senker uh game winning uh scoop and score fumble recovery uh touchdown uh really really huge win for the Wahoos any uh any four and one Wahoo takes no I mean that was when they really needed to win they're continuing to play pretty well they're you know when you're not a good team you see a lot of kind of ups and downs you might win you might lose but there's inconsistency and they're turning into a pretty consistent team right now I think you you've got a lot of momentum uh and and some really good things happening uh if you're a UVA fan and you really need it because reality look I was looking ahead the schedule sit at four and one which is great i mean the overunder win total I think was five five and a half four and a half so they're right now six of the last seven games this uh year UVA is going to be a dog in the one exception being UNC at home which is absolutely now a must win and UNC's not UNC is a bad team you should be able to beat them that's a must win because they're gonna be dogs in the six of the last seven so the UVA has some losses coming hopefully they can steal a couple more maybe get to a 7-5.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: I mean I think a UNA UVA 7-5 to a 24 season would be a huge win Virginia Tech uh at Stanford offense was humming that did you see that uh double reverse they did was actually just an absolutely beautiful play Stanford was down to their third string quarterback who couldn't throw a forward pass that's obviously helps but Virginia Tech did exactly what they're supposed to do.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: Kyron Jones looked really crisp 14 19 200 yards two touchdowns uh bashal tootin 21 yards 21 carries 73 uh four and a half yards per carry and touchdown suffocating defense held staff home to seven yards less than 250 yards uh virginia tech needed this soundly convincingly had to have it uh not where you want to be at three and three halfway through the season but looking good i mean this team even the loss to Miami last week and this resounding win this year this week Virginia Tech stock going up in your mind Mike yeah absolutely I think you're seeing a continuation off of a good performance against that Miami team and a lot of times even though you took care of business against a really bad team in Stanford like let's be honest they are really bad but that kind of momentum and that kind of confidence and getting some rhythm on offense especially can really kind of keep the ball rolling and and really allow you to build something.
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: And when you look ahead I mean they've got Boston College who just got beat by UVA.
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: They've got a pretty good Georgia Tech team but I think they're gonna be able to continue to build some of this momentum and build on some of the things that they're finding out what works and and so that's a very positive step in the right direction for them on offense.
- 37:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah this might be a real inflection point for the Virginia schools as we were just saying UVA is going to be dogs in six of their last seven Virginia Tech is going to be favored in five of their last six the one exception being the Clemson game um in Blacksburg which they could be favored.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: We'll see how the next month the football comes out but they'll probably be dogs there.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: As of today they are favored in five of the last six so my point is a tech team which we all looked at halfway point the schedule thinking maybe five and one four and two three and three is disappointment losing to Miami Vanderbilt and ruckers which are all actually age pretty darn well ruckers is good for Vandy can beat anybody as we all know now um they have a chance to be eight and four which is still a pretty darn good year for the Hokies.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: So not maybe nine and three if everything stars a line but going to the bye week at three and three they have a chance to ride that into kind of the future so I mean maybe the Hokies are just a slow starting team go ahead.
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah yeah I think you're right and we talk about how teams change over the season um our perception of these teams also changes as we see how their opponents um look.
- 38:10SPEAKER_01: I mean that Vanderbilt was lost was such an embarrassing loss now that Vanderbilt's beaten Bama you're kind of like okay well that's a that makes sense that's that's Diego Pavia puts some respect on that guy's name.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah they're speaking people who've blown through their preseason windows Vanderbilt's already uh three and two and they're uh they're looking like they're gonna be a bowl team which is really great for them.
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: Um Hokies the second year in a row what we might be seeing here what I think we're seeing here is there might be a slow starting team last year the first month of the season hookies looked really really bad they I think they won six of their last seven coming down the stretch and which was a lot of the reason the Hokies had so much love going 2024.
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: We already said it three and three at the halfway point of the season is not what anybody had in mind in Blacksburg but this might be a moment where you might see Brent Pryde turning the corner drones and Tootin dialing it in their defense really settling uh the that secondary get playing better like this might be the time where the Hokies really turn it on and pour it on down the stretch.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: There's might be a slow starting team that might just be well and you can change the whole narrative if you win that Clemson game.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: It's true and honestly if you win that Clemson game because this is this this is crazy talk.
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: This is crazy talk let's go there let's go there take me there if they beat that clem if they beat that Clemson team they're playing in the ACC championship against Miami a team if they win that game I'm assuming they run the table of a nine and three Virginia tech is going to go to Charlotte and play for the ACC championship against a Miami team that they know they can beat I'm not saying but I'm saying but I'm just saying but I'm just saying all right uh okay let's get the last one with pull the band aid off uh Arkansas uh gets a win over Tennessee and just a brutal loss I think this final score was 14 to 19 um you know this is your game go ahead what what the hell happened yeah it's so I wish I could say it was just one thing um or you know one area uh of deficiency I think it's the the scary part and for me being a fan and watching this game um you're starting to see a few trends that are disturbing and the alarm bells are starting to to go off a little bit uh first off we're having major protection issues uh it last last week against or two weeks ago against Oklahoma you know Oklahoma does have a good front given that we had some injuries on the line um but now you know those injuries may be lingering a little bit but still not getting the protection you want it's affecting uh the ability to throw the deep ball I think the play calling um the defenses are are throwing some different things at them that they haven't seen on tape um Arkansas actually played a lot of nickel uh which was really weird they were bringing safeties down to help in the run game confusing Nico and and and his pre-snap reads um but yeah I think the defense is still playing well enough they made a lot of key stops defense played well um but definitely some very very disturbing things on offense if you're a Tennessee fan so the game kind of I kind of had three notes for kind of what's going on I mean I'm gonna go ahead and say right now I do not think your run game is a problem I actually love Dylan Sampson I think he's a phenomenal back um he's earning himself some an NFL paycheck here pretty soon and I don't think our defense played really well I'm only I'm only crediting them for giving up 13 points on the road I think they let them that I think they let the very last touchdown that they got they you we can argue maybe you know for sure I think hypo let them score which I actually love yeah I actually love that hypo is a realist he recognized that they were going to just drain the clock take a chip yard field goal to win and he knew he said no give me the ball give me a chance to win let them score which I just enough coaches don't do that they can't it goes against their being yeah so yeah give hypo big credit for that um so I thought the defense and run game were awesome the three things that I thought that kind of haunted them was I thought the offensive line had an uncharacteristically bad game which I think you talked about um I do I'm I'm starting to wonder what the scheme kind of game plan is for hypo like what he's kind of going for um I'm starting to I'm I'm having questions about that and the biggest thing for me I think was I just I Nico needs more experience.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: This was a big moment and he was really rattled I think um he was like he was missing throws that I have seen him make flawlessly a lot and the biggest thing the biggest symptom and I probably don't want to hear this but you know the last play um when he didn't he when he the five seconds left I recognize it was probably covers probably a Hail Mary shot anyway on the 25 year old whatever the hell it was he didn't even throw the ball in the end zone.
- 42:40SPEAKER_00: And that just says to me 19 year old kid big spot was rattled inexperienced and moment was too big for him that's okay getting winning games on the in the SEC on the road is really hard that is not something kids are expected to do so you know it seemed like the O line the scheme and Nico just being the moment being too big for him were kind of the three things for me.
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: Can you can you rank those like what do you for you moving forward what are the goal what are the concerns that you're you're worried about well I'm really concerned about the offensive line because if you can't protect your quarterback um you're you can't do much on offense period um so that is my number one concern I do think they're gonna have to do a little something different with the play calling some of this offensive ineptitude falls on hypo because I think he's he's trying to be a little too protective of his five star you know freshman quarterback you got to open it up you got to let him use his legs and and flex the run game a little bit um some quarterback draws you know whatever it takes um but yeah I do think I Nico played uncharacteristically rattled down the right down the stretch there that doesn't worry me because that's gonna sort itself out eventually um but he he he did not he did not look the way you want him to look um in certain spots I mean he just he missed some open guys um in that final stretch heipel came out and said he should have called a timeout didn't I think he mismanaged the end of that game a little bit once the balls had the ball on offense they hit a big play put themselves in position to potentially win it and kind of shot themselves in the foot and that was a trend throughout the game penalties penalties penalties holds and and fall starts and and just you know that running into the kicker late is what set them up for their final yeah I mean if if it weren't for that you've got the ball on offense ready to ice the game so just a lot of just sloppiness um just so many things to clean up it's really in a we're in a scary spot right now I think
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: Was a couple that it's worth noting, despite all of that, like they were still like one third down conversion away from they had they had the lead 14-13 with three minutes left in the game until the final touchdown.
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: Like when they they had two chances to have the ball on third down where they just convert that ball, they roll away, they kill another 90 minute.
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: Like they just there was so Tennessee was one play away.
- 45:01SPEAKER_00: And we I know we say that a lot, but I really do feel that way.
- 45:04SPEAKER_00: Like one very convertible third down away, they salt that game away.
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: It's ugly.
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: We go, we we maybe we don't feel better about the vols right now.
- 45:13SPEAKER_00: OL's still a problem, Nico's still rattled, play calling's still weird, but you they could they could they they were an inch away from getting that win, and just uh it's gotta be a frustrating feeling for the vols.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: And I last thing I'll say before we move on till next week.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: I think Hypel knows that his team is better than anybody else.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: I think Hypel knows that Nico does have some some things he need to clean up and some inexperience.
- 45:33SPEAKER_00: So I wonder if he is not holding a lot back as he's trying to try to kind of get Nico more and more involved.
- 45:40SPEAKER_00: And I think you're absolutely right.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: The experience stuff, the big for the moment stuff.
- 45:44SPEAKER_00: You just have to have you have to have reps, you have to be in those tough spots.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: You gotta learn from him, he's gonna get there.
- 45:49SPEAKER_00: Um, so uh still bullish on the vols, but obviously a tough one.
- 45:52SPEAKER_00: All right, cool.
- 45:54SPEAKER_00: We are 44 minutes into this podcast.
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: We have not talked about week seven.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: So let's and this is crazy because this is arguably this is gonna be a long podcast, this is what it is.
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: This is probably the best week on paper college football all season.
- 46:07SPEAKER_00: It might not be that way, but it is an incredible week.
- 46:09SPEAKER_00: So let's just jump in.
- 46:10SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be hard to top last week.
- 46:12SPEAKER_00: So I mean exactly going a little long.
- 46:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, totally.
- 46:15SPEAKER_00: But I mean, looking at with just the the heavyweights on the schedule, this is an amazing week.
- 46:20SPEAKER_00: Uh, so let's go ahead and just try and bounce through many of these.
- 46:23SPEAKER_00: We'll put together the mic blitz bit of the week.
- 46:25SPEAKER_00: Um, we'll just see where it goes.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: Friday, Utah, minus four at Arizona State.
- 46:29SPEAKER_00: Um, the only thing I care about this game is if Cam is playing.
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know if Cam Rising is playing or not.
- 46:34SPEAKER_00: Utah is a team I care about.
- 46:36SPEAKER_00: If he is, if he is not, I do not.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: Any uh Utah, Arizona State takes.
- 46:42SPEAKER_01: Um no strong takes on this one.
- 46:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I they've got to get him back if they're gonna be competitive and get to where they want to be.
- 46:51SPEAKER_01: Um, I I don't for the sake of this game, they they need him just to win this game as well.
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: But for the big picture, he's gotta play.
- 46:59SPEAKER_00: And as of the recording, we do we do not we do not know if he's gonna play, right?
- 47:03SPEAKER_00: No, all right.
- 47:03SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna say we stay with the spread is minus four and a half.
- 47:06SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's moved six six and a half.
- 47:08SPEAKER_00: Which way?
- 47:09SPEAKER_01: It was six and a half Utah.
- 47:10SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's I saw it.
- 47:11SPEAKER_00: So okay, so that so that means I that's information.
- 47:13SPEAKER_00: I'm minus four.
- 47:14SPEAKER_00: If it's jumped two and a half points, that means they think Cam is playing.
- 47:18SPEAKER_00: And if they think Cam is playing, I don't know.
- 47:21SPEAKER_00: That's a little interesting.
- 47:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, here we go.
- 47:23SPEAKER_00: Again, every week.
- 47:25SPEAKER_00: I I haven't seen him play in 18 months, so I'm saying, I'm thinking this is a stay away for me.
- 47:29SPEAKER_00: I have no idea what's gonna happen, but if Cam is playing, that that makes me morched in Utah down the stretch.
- 47:35SPEAKER_00: Uh, do you want to play this one or you want to leave it off?
- 47:37SPEAKER_01: Uh leave this one off for sure.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: All right, let's leave it off.
- 47:39SPEAKER_00: We'll see what happens.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: Um, South Carolina plus 21 and a half at number seven, Bama.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: Um, South Carolina obviously underperformed.
- 47:46SPEAKER_00: They weren't supposed to win that game.
- 47:47SPEAKER_00: They they they got blasted by Ole Miss, which we didn't even talk about, did we?
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: Um, and Alabama, obviously, the crazy win.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: Um, 21.5 is 21 and a half is a lot of points.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: Uh what year South Carolina Alabama takes?
- 48:02SPEAKER_01: It is a bad week to be a game cock.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: You're going to Tuscaloosa after arguably the worst loss in Alabama history in the last like 20 years.
- 48:11SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be it's gonna be bad.
- 48:14SPEAKER_01: That's my take.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: Uh I think I I think I actually agree.
- 48:17SPEAKER_00: And also, like, you know, I last week I I bought the fool's gold of the uh old of the South Carolina Game Cock offense.
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: It's bad.
- 48:24SPEAKER_00: They can't score.
- 48:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm not saying Alabama's perfectly got warts, but Alabama's gonna score 40 points at this this maybe more.
- 48:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think Alabama covers actually.
- 48:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think so too.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go ahead, let's go let's go ahead and put that in there.
- 48:33SPEAKER_00: We got Bama minus 21.
- 48:35SPEAKER_00: Um, I think Alabama's offense is kind of a two-trick pony.
- 48:38SPEAKER_00: Uh, run the ball with uh uh Jalen Milro, uh, sprinkle some a little bit and then throw the ball down there.
- 48:46SPEAKER_00: You know, the classic, the classic meme, F it, Ryan Williams down there somewhere.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: It's kind of all they do, but I think that's good.
- 48:51SPEAKER_00: I think that's gonna be good enough today.
- 48:52SPEAKER_00: So I got Alabama covering minus 21 as well.
- 48:55SPEAKER_00: Uh Red River, the shootout.
- 48:56SPEAKER_00: Uh number one, Texas.
- 48:58SPEAKER_00: Uh last I looked was a 14-point favorite uh against number 18, Oklahoma.
- 49:02SPEAKER_00: This game is technically neutral site.
- 49:04SPEAKER_00: It's that the Cotton Bowl, I believe, or the old cotton bowl.
- 49:07SPEAKER_00: Um, 14 points is a lot.
- 49:09SPEAKER_00: Both teams coming off a bye, 14 and a half as of right now.
- 49:12SPEAKER_00: Actually, 14 and a half Oklahoma's getting.
- 49:14SPEAKER_00: Give me your Red River takes.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: This game is so unpredictable.
- 49:18SPEAKER_01: I mean, we've seen uh we've seen crazy comebacks, we've seen teams get blown out.
- 49:23SPEAKER_01: Um, I actually think that this is gonna be a pretty close game.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: Me too.
- 49:27SPEAKER_01: Uh go ahead.
- 49:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just I think Texas has come back down to earth a little bit.
- 49:33SPEAKER_01: I think maybe they were overvalued a bit to start the season.
- 49:36SPEAKER_01: They've got Michigan win doesn't look that great anymore.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I tend to agree with you.
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: And Oklahoma, while they've been suspect on offense, I do really believe in um Hawkins Jr.
- 49:48SPEAKER_01: I think he's a dynamic playmaker.
- 49:50SPEAKER_01: He's shown the ability to make something out of nothing, put the team on his back.
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: And I still think Oklahoma has a really good front seven.
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: So I do kind of like this in a lower scoring.
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: Whoever gets a couple big plays um ends up, you know, closing this one out.
- 50:03SPEAKER_01: But I think Oklahoma hangs in there, and I think 14 and a half is probably too many points for Texas.
- 50:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm taking Oklahoma.
- 50:10SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, I agree with you.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: We got Oklahoma, we're taking Oklahoma plus 14 and a half.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: Um, one, both they're both coming off a bye.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: That helps Texas get healthy.
- 50:18SPEAKER_00: I was it sounds like Quinn Ewers is going to play, and that's all well and good.
- 50:21SPEAKER_00: Although I don't see a lot of difference between Quintin Ewers and Arch Manning.
- 50:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't either.
- 50:24SPEAKER_00: On the other side of the coin, though, Michael Hawkins, a extra 14 days of prep and coaching, that means so much more to him.
- 50:31SPEAKER_00: It's a neutral site game, it's a rivalry that could one of the best rivalries in college football.
- 50:36SPEAKER_00: So, you know, the the spreads don't really matter.
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: It's uh go ahead.
- 50:40SPEAKER_01: No, I was just gonna I was just gonna jump in there when you mentioned, you know, kind of the injury report and and getting Quinn Yuvers back because on the flip side of that, Oklahoma has been one of the most banged up teams all year.
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: The product that we've seen thus far in the season is not really who they are.
- 50:57SPEAKER_01: They've they've had key offensive linemen down, they've had their entire wide receiving core down.
- 51:02SPEAKER_01: This might be the healthiest Oklahoma team you've seen thus far.
- 51:05SPEAKER_01: So that really bodes well for them.
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, so we are both bullish on the Sooners.
- 51:09SPEAKER_00: All right, I love that.
- 51:10SPEAKER_00: Good stuff.
- 51:10SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah.
- 51:11SPEAKER_00: So I'm I just I think give them more time, give Michael Hawkins another two weeks of prep.
- 51:15SPEAKER_00: I just think they're gonna have some wrinkles there.
- 51:17SPEAKER_00: Um, I wouldn't, I don't think they're gonna win.
- 51:20SPEAKER_00: I think Texas is an excellent, excellent team.
- 51:21SPEAKER_00: Probably one of the best two or three games to win, but I love Oklahoma here to cover.
- 51:25SPEAKER_00: Uh Penn State, uh, number four, Penn State, number four, Penn State, uh, is uh minus five at USC in SoCal.
- 51:34SPEAKER_00: Um, I think USC is bad.
- 51:36SPEAKER_00: Um, I I want to think they were winning because they beat my Tigers, obviously.
- 51:39SPEAKER_00: I think they're light in the pants.
- 51:41SPEAKER_00: What I saw in in Minnesota when they lost the gophers last week was them just playing physical ball.
- 51:46SPEAKER_00: If you want to, if that was the script to beat a USC team, and it usually is just be physical, play really hard, hard defense, run the bejesus out of the ball.
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: There is like one team in the country better built for that than Penn State, maybe Ohio State.
- 51:59SPEAKER_00: Penn State with Nick Sickleton, K-tron Allen, and that defensive front.
- 52:04SPEAKER_00: I think they're going to play, punch you in the mouth, grind it out football, and they're just going to push USC around for 60 minutes.
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: I don't even don't think this is going to be close.
- 52:14SPEAKER_00: I got Penn State big.
- 52:16SPEAKER_00: Oof.
- 52:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:17SPEAKER_01: I actually I I always get I always get a little worried when we agree with each other too much.
- 52:23SPEAKER_01: Hey, man, it worked out once.
- 52:26SPEAKER_01: It did work out once.
- 52:28SPEAKER_01: Um, I think Penn State has has the goods when it when it comes to this matchup.
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: Uh, I don't know how good they are on the national landscape.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: I think four might be a little bit high, but this is gonna be a really good test to tell us who this Penn State team really is.
- 52:44SPEAKER_01: I think you're spot on with with their physical ability and the way that they can um bully you a little bit.
- 52:50SPEAKER_01: They've also, though, sprinkled in a nice air attack with some big playability, which they didn't have last year.
- 52:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's called sure.
- 52:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and when you look at Miller Moss, he's shown some flashes.
- 53:02SPEAKER_01: Um, but he's also, you know, this that Minnesota game, he turned the ball over twice.
- 53:07SPEAKER_01: Uh, he's coming off of a kind of a rough performance.
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: I think, yeah, I think Penn State to win, Penn State to cover.
- 53:13SPEAKER_01: I don't know if they blow him out like you think.
- 53:15SPEAKER_01: I think it's gonna be a pretty good game.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: It is in the Coliseum, which three time zones something for that, yeah.
- 53:20SPEAKER_01: Body clock theory.
- 53:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 53:23SPEAKER_00: It is at 3:30.
- 53:24SPEAKER_00: It's at three games at 3:30 Eastern, which is actually noon.
- 53:27SPEAKER_00: Uh, which all another body clock, so it'd be like it'll be like a Big Ten kind of home game for them, theoretically, I guess.
- 53:32SPEAKER_00: Perfect.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: Um, big noon kickoff.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: I I mean, I I don't question Lincoln Riley's ability to coach an offense.
- 53:37SPEAKER_00: I think Miller Moss is a really good quarterback.
- 53:39SPEAKER_00: He's probably going to the NFL.
- 53:40SPEAKER_00: I think he's got two or three NFL receivers for sure.
- 53:43SPEAKER_00: I think the game plan is going to be keep that offense off the field.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: And for us, that means just pounding them physically.
- 53:51SPEAKER_00: Um, they I mean, Baron Alexander, who's arguably their best defensive lineman, just uh announced that he's redshirting and transferring.
- 53:57SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying he was a game breaker for USC by any means.
- 54:00SPEAKER_00: He's he kind of live up the billing yet, but I just this is a poor matchup, and we just saw it happened with Minnesota, who I do not think is very good at all.
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: So uh we'll see, but we both we both like Penn State to cover.
- 54:11SPEAKER_00: Good stuff.
- 54:12SPEAKER_00: Uh Cal um at at undefeated number 22, Pitt.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: This is a small line, it's only pit minus three and a half, which really gives me pause.
- 54:22SPEAKER_00: Um uh cow coming off a tough loss, could have had them.
- 54:25SPEAKER_00: Obviously, the cows is is only two plays away, also being five and oh.
- 54:28SPEAKER_00: The Florida State loss, they almost had, and obviously the Miami one.
- 54:31SPEAKER_00: So plucky, plucky cow pit is undefeated.
- 54:34SPEAKER_00: Um, both teams probably in the top six of ACC.
- 54:38SPEAKER_00: Eli Holstein being a gamer.
- 54:41SPEAKER_00: I I could go either way on this one.
- 54:42SPEAKER_00: What do you got?
- 54:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't have a strong feeling about this one um for any logical reasons.
- 54:49SPEAKER_01: I just really think that Pitt is solid, it's at home, just you know, Cal is going across the country, which you mentioned, you know, whatever huge emotional layover of the world.
- 55:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I don't know.
- 55:03SPEAKER_01: Um, it is probably harder to travel from California back to the east than it is to be a Penn State team going out west, as far as your body clap goes.
- 55:13SPEAKER_01: Um, so take take that for what you will.
- 55:15SPEAKER_01: I I still think you know, being a small line, I I do like pit here.
- 55:20SPEAKER_01: I give them the edge.
- 55:22SPEAKER_01: Also, just don't think Cal's that good.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'll take Pitt minus three.
- 55:25SPEAKER_00: We'll we'll I'll co-sign that.
- 55:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know what it's worth noting that uh both teams don't really have a home field advantage, so it's kind of feel like a neutral side game at Cal Stadium.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: Uh Pitt plays his game in Hinesfield, which is where the Pittsburgh Steelers play.
- 55:38SPEAKER_00: They the place is usually half empty anyway, so it's kind of a neutral side game for both teams.
- 55:44SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, give me Eli Holstein and that offense.
- 55:46SPEAKER_00: I'll go pit minus three.
- 55:47SPEAKER_00: Uh Arizona, um, at undefeated number 14, BYU.
- 55:53SPEAKER_00: BYU is a three-point spread, three and a half.
- 55:56SPEAKER_00: I'm double checking that right now.
- 55:58SPEAKER_00: Mobile with the minus five.
- 56:00SPEAKER_00: So money is coming in on BYU.
- 56:02SPEAKER_00: So this game boils down to me for kind of two things.
- 56:05SPEAKER_00: Two things.
- 56:06SPEAKER_00: Arizona has nothing outside of Noah Fafita throwing the ball to Tet McMillan.
- 56:11SPEAKER_00: The guy gets like 20 targets a game.
- 56:13SPEAKER_00: Noah Fita's a good quarterback.
- 56:14SPEAKER_00: Ted McMillan is an NFL first-round receiver and should get a bajillion targets, one of my favorite players.
- 56:19SPEAKER_00: On the flip side, BYU has no offense outside of their quarterback, Jake Red Slaff.
- 56:25SPEAKER_00: He's their leading rusher.
- 56:26SPEAKER_00: They have no playmakers on the outside, no playmakers on um the backfield, good defense.
- 56:32SPEAKER_00: For me, this game is like who can find anything else other than Fafita McMillan, Rudzlaff, and elevation.
- 56:40SPEAKER_00: What do you got?
- 56:41SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, the line is intriguing to me because I think BYU is pretty overvalued right now.
- 56:46SPEAKER_01: I think they're a decent team, but I think they're riding this number and this undefeated streak.
- 56:52SPEAKER_01: And I think Arizona's pretty good on offense.
- 56:54SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 56:55SPEAKER_01: Um I'm with you.
- 56:56SPEAKER_01: This again, you know, I don't have like a super strong ceiling on this game, but if you just told me to pick one, and based on what my eyeballs are telling me, this is something you always like to say.
- 57:07SPEAKER_01: I like Arizona.
- 57:08SPEAKER_01: Arizona's been able to put up some points.
- 57:10SPEAKER_01: You know, they kind of laid an egg um against Kansas State, but I like their offense.
- 57:16SPEAKER_01: I think their offense is good enough at times to carry them in a game like this.
- 57:19SPEAKER_01: Let's take Arizona to win plus 170.
- 57:21SPEAKER_00: They're only five-point dogs.
- 57:23SPEAKER_00: All right, let's do it.
- 57:24SPEAKER_00: All right, throwing Arizona there.
- 57:25SPEAKER_00: Because here's the thing Arizona, Ted McMillan is an NFL first-round receiver.
- 57:29SPEAKER_00: There is nobody in BYU's defense that can guard him, they just can't.
- 57:33SPEAKER_00: So if you have a difference maker like that, then who knows?
- 57:36SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, let's go ahead and take uh Arizona plus 170.
- 57:41SPEAKER_00: Yes, that is awesome.
- 57:42SPEAKER_00: Good stuff.
- 57:43SPEAKER_00: All right, uh, moving on.
- 57:44SPEAKER_00: Uh, number 11, Iowa State, undefeated at their minus three points at West Virginia, W W V U.
- 57:52SPEAKER_00: Vegas seems to love Morgantown.
- 57:54SPEAKER_00: I think it's probably gonna be a night game.
- 57:55SPEAKER_00: I'll look at that right now.
- 57:56SPEAKER_00: Uh, any Iowa, West Iowa State, West Virginia takes eight o'clock, eight p.m.
- 58:01SPEAKER_00: So 8 p.m.
- 58:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 58:03SPEAKER_01: West Virginia.
- 58:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this I mean, Morgantown is a tough place to play.
- 58:06SPEAKER_01: Um, it's on my list as somewhere I'd like to go check out a night game.
- 58:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, Iowa State.
- 58:12SPEAKER_01: This is a sneaky test for them.
- 58:13SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't think it raises a ton of eyebrows nationally when you're scanning, you know, the ticker, when you're looking to see who what what these big time matchups are, it doesn't stick out to you, but this could easily be a trip-up game.
- 58:25SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I like I think Iowa State takes care of business.
- 58:28SPEAKER_01: It's only a three-point um spread, which is kind of surprising.
- 58:33SPEAKER_01: I think Iowa State's good enough to go in there and get the win, but not super confident on that.
- 58:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 58:38SPEAKER_00: I yeah, part of me wants just like the Big 12 is such a mess.
- 58:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, honestly, I think what whoever wins the Big 12 is gonna be nine and three or 10 and 2.
- 58:46SPEAKER_00: It might be Iowa State.
- 58:48SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't be surprised if either team won this game.
- 58:50SPEAKER_00: And Morgantown at night, they are going to turn up for sure.
- 58:54SPEAKER_00: Let's let's stay away from this one.
- 58:56SPEAKER_00: Um, I I got no feeling.
- 58:57SPEAKER_00: 50 over under is 51 points.
- 58:58SPEAKER_00: Is they're gonna score a lot.
- 59:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, I have no strong feeling.
- 59:03SPEAKER_01: Me neither.
- 59:03SPEAKER_01: All right, we're all right.
- 59:05SPEAKER_01: It's a tough one to read.
- 59:07SPEAKER_01: West Virginia's actually looks good at times, you know.
- 59:09SPEAKER_01: They beat Kansas, um, they beat the breaks off at Oklahoma State last week.
- 59:13SPEAKER_01: Um, yes, yeah.
- 59:14SPEAKER_01: Well, Oklahoma State's proven to be a pretty bad team, I guess.
- 59:17SPEAKER_01: I think.
- 59:17SPEAKER_00: I think that yeah, I think Oklahoma State might be dead.
- 59:19SPEAKER_00: So um, yeah, uh, we'll stay away from that one.
- 59:23SPEAKER_00: All right, number 18, Kansas State.
- 59:26SPEAKER_00: They are four and a half point favorites at Colorado.
- 59:30SPEAKER_00: I can't believe we're doing this, but we have to do it.
- 59:37SPEAKER_00: The spread has actually come down.
- 59:38SPEAKER_00: It was four and a half, now it's only four.
- 59:40SPEAKER_00: Um, this game is in boulder, so there's elevation.
- 59:43SPEAKER_00: There's that thing.
- 59:44SPEAKER_00: Colorado will learn to run the ball.
- 59:46SPEAKER_00: Here's the thing.
- 59:46SPEAKER_00: Here's the thing crazy about this game.
- 59:48SPEAKER_00: If Dion wins this game, and I don't think that he will, because I think Kansas State's the best team in the Big 12, or for my money, that's my bet to go to the playoff.
- 59:55SPEAKER_00: If they win this game, we're talking about Dion going to the playoff, and the college football world is going to melt from the sun.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_00: You're going to see it.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_00: People are going to go absolutely nuts because you can't tell me with a straight face, for all Colorado's flaws, if they could beat Kansas State, they could beat anybody.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_00: And the winners of the Big 12 are going to be a two-loss team.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_00: Colorado would be at that point six and four, four-and-o in the Big 12.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_00: They're not losing, like, they're only losing one or two more.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_01: Like, who are you for?
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_01: For the sake of conversation, would you rather Colorado win this game or lose it?
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_00: Uh, for content, it'd be really great to see Colorado.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_00: Just to talk about just moving.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_00: Talk about it.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't hate that.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_00: Uh, that would be fun.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_00: Um, I said this last week and I was wrong.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_00: I said that you're two weeks ago.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_00: UCF is a very good running team.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_00: Colorado does not uh defend the run.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_00: It didn't work out that way.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_00: Colorado threw all over them and and they ran the ball.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_00: Kansas State is even better.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_00: They're an even better version of UCF.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_00: They're actually a really darn good version.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_00: Avery Johnson is an outstanding running quarterback.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_00: Um, Colorado is going to be really, really tested at what they don't do well, which is defending the run.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_00: Um, and oh man, I mean, the elevation might be a thing.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_00: Colorado plus four.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_00: I got Kansas State minus four covering because they're the best team um in the Big 12, I think.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_00: But Vegas disagrees with me.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_00: This spread has come down from four and a half to four.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_00: Talk me out of it.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_00: Talk me into it, talk me around it.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_01: I will dance around it with you.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_01: I don't have any strong feelings enough to talk you in or out of this one.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_01: I think that this is the type of game that Dion and Colorado and Shador Sanders and all those guys have really been just kind of waiting for.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_01: Like, I could see them winning this game and everyone talking about it all week long, and then I could see them turning around and losing next week to Arizona because I just think that their program is so volatile right now and inconsistent.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_01: And when you rely on you know a couple big-time playmakers, um, all it takes is for a team to find a way to shut that down, you know, shut one guy down, sell out enough times to shut it down, you know, one more time.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_01: So I don't know who's gonna win this game, but my eyes are gonna be on it if I can possibly it's 10-15.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_00: So it's actually it's actually the only it's the only really great game, the night slime slate.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_00: So so if you're if you if you have some some if you have some late night juice left in you, it's a good game.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_00: I'll say this the over-under is only 56 and a half.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_00: I think they blow through that.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_00: I'll just play.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay, there it is.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_00: That's that's how we're playing today.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's the play.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_00: That's the play.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_00: Colorado over uh over 56 and a half, and that was one of the winning legs the last time we Colorado was in it.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_00: Um, I think Kansas State's gonna score a lot of points.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_00: I think Colorado's gonna throw the ball a ton.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna see some hurry up stuff.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_00: So let's go ahead and pound the over.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_00: Let's go ahead and take that.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_00: Last we got there.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_01: We got there eventually.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_00: We got there, we did.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_00: All right, last headliner.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_00: Uh, number two, Ohio State.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_00: Uh, I think they are checking that right now.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_00: They are minus three.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_00: The spreads also come down.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_00: Uh, minus three at number three.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_00: Oregon, both teams undefeated.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_00: It's easy for me.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_00: Give me Ohio State by 17.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_00: Uh, I got no faith in Oregon.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_00: I like Dylan Gabriel.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_00: I like Dylan Gabriel.
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_00: What about that?
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_00: Outs and magic, though.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_00: And Dylan Gabriel's, he's been coming on a little bit.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_00: I just, I think Ohio State's defense is just filthy.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_00: And honestly, my biggest flaw with Oregon has been and still is they I don't think they have it in the trenches.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_00: And I still don't, they've gotten better.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_00: They've gotten better since they almost losing to the uh proud Idaho Vandals in week one and obviously the boys again, which they almost let get away.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_00: I'm not seeing anything out of Oregon since they're better.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_00: I love Evan Stewart.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_00: Uh, I they I think they do have some outstanding playmakers on the outside, but if anybody has the personnel to match up with that, it's Ohio State.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_00: I got Ohio State's defense traveling.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_00: I think Quinchon Judkins and Treyvon Hensers have a big day.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna make some holes.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_00: Um, I think Jeremiah Smith is the other 17-year-old phenom wide receiver other than Ryan Williams in Alabama that we're talking about.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_00: He's gonna make some guys.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_00: I just think Ohio State is a tier better on talent.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_00: So I think Ohio State wins and covers easily.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think that outson plays a major role in this game early.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_01: Um, this is the biggest game in that stadium in the like the last 10 years.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_01: I don't know when there's been a bigger name opponent with with a smaller number next to their name rolling into town.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_01: Um, so I think the environment is gonna be crazy.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_01: And I think that carries them into the second half.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_01: But seeing as it's only a three-point spread, I gotta take Ohio State to cover that just based on the talent.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_01: I do love Dylan Gabriel.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_01: I think he's gonna do some things.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_01: He's coming on.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_01: Um, I do think that he's gonna make some plays and he's gonna shine on the national stage.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I agree with you.
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_01: Ohio State's the better team.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_01: They've looked, they've looked more consistent.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_01: This is not new for them at all.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_01: Um, this will be a big test test on the road, though.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_01: So I think if they can if they can withstand a couple of those early punches, uh, they've definitely got enough to uh to pull off the the the win there and and cover.
- 1:05:15SPEAKER_01: We agree.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_00: Good stuff.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_00: All right, cool.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_00: Let's shift to the homers.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_00: Uh, first one, Virginia Tech on a bye.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_00: Enjoy your week off, hokies.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_00: Uh Louisville, minus seven and a half at UVA.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_00: We can't bet on this, obviously, because we know it's Virginia Law.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_00: Um, this is UVA's uh really big opportunity.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_00: Louisville's coming off a loss to SMU, UVA riding high in that Boston College.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_00: They're confident they're getting them again in Scott Stadium in uh Charlottesville.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_00: What do you got?
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_01: UVA Louisville minus seven.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_01: I like Louisville in this game.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_01: I I'm still high on them.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_01: I watched that game against SMU.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_01: They looked good.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_01: Shuck looked good, he made a few mistakes, but SMU um really just carried on on the back of their quarterback, and I just don't see that happening with UVA.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't see the talent across the board that that even SMU has.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_01: So I still like Louisville.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_01: Uh I I like I would pick him to cover.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I would too.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_00: Um Jacori Brooks is an outstanding wide receiver.
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_00: It felt I watched a lot of that game too.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_00: It felt like Louisville was making plays.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_00: SMU is just making more of them.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_00: Kevin Jennings was doing real like it wasn't like oh, Louisville played bad or was a bad team.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm I'm and I said I felt the same way kind of about the uh Notre Dame game as well.
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_00: I also agree with you.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_00: I think Jeff Brahm is one of the best coaches.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_00: We've been on him since his Purdue days.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_00: We like him a lot.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_00: Um, Corey Brooks, uh Tyler Shuck.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, give me Louisville Cardinals to unfortunately go into Charlottesville and get the win against our uh favorite Wahoos.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_00: Uh going to your game first or mine?
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_00: We can hop into mine.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_00: Florida at Tennessee.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna check it right now.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_00: I think the spread is 15 and a half.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_00: Um, very exciting times.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_00: Uh, this has been a historically been a tough game for the Vols.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_00: I think the last 10 years has been that got a couple wins against Florida.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_00: Um, that spread uh is high.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm actually impressed.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_00: That's uh they're giving they're giving Tennessee a lot of love, which is great.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know how Billy Napier still thinks I think he still thinks a bad coach.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_00: I don't know how he still thinks the two quarterback system works.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_00: Um, and I actually think this is the game that he's gonna get fired.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_00: Um, I got Tennessee answering in a big spot, unlike uh in Fayetteville, I think Nico knows how to play football, and I think he plays football in Nayland.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_00: I think the crowd is going to be electric.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it announced like a checkerboard situation or whatnot.
- 1:07:25SPEAKER_00: It's also gonna be a night game.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_00: Um I think it's gonna be balls to the wall in Knoxville.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_00: What do you got?
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um I like I said, after I have real recency bias, and it's not just from the Arkansas game, it's carryover from the Oklahoma game.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_01: Um, I am scared of this line.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_01: I think that we're certainly capable of blowing the doors off of a Florida team at home at night.
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_01: It is going to be an awesome environment.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_01: Um, there are chances for that crowd to swallow up a very shaky Gator team.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_01: Um, but I've seen Tennessee football figure out every way possible to lose to a less talented Florida team to take uh the vols confidently to cover that spread.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I do still I think we win the game.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_01: I think we find a way.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_01: Um, but do I think you know, if we win by if we cover the spread, we look awesome.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_01: Everyone's feeling great going into the band again.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_01: Um and I just I'm not ready.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_01: I don't I'm not ready for that because we if we have lots of offensive line issues um again, then we're not gonna be able to move the ball as well.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_01: I do think they lean on the run.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_01: It's a Dylan Sampson show, and we we we win.
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_01: But um, yeah, I gotta see it.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_01: I gotta see some down the field splash plays okay to know that they exist.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna trust you because you know this team better than most folks know anything.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_00: Well, let me ask you this what do you what do you think the final score is gonna be?
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_00: If the ballpark gets the score, what do you think that is?
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_01: I think Dennis, the um the defense does their part.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_01: I think um Lagway's talented enough to maybe to hit a play or two.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_01: Um, defense probably holds into 17, and we win 28-17, something like that.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_00: 2017 is 45 points.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_00: The over-under is 55 and a half.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_00: You want to pound that under?
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_00: I like the 50 over under 55 and a half.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_00: I like the under there.
- 1:09:13SPEAKER_00: I think you're right.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_00: I can honestly, Dylan Sampson is the best Vols player right now.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_00: Um, and then and he's really really taken the mantle and carried the team well.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_00: I think you might be right.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_00: This might be a run game, slow.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_00: That it might for that reason, might that spread might be too big a number.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_00: Let's do the under.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_00: Let's do under 55 and a half.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, can get can you get away?
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_01: The only thing that would scare me about taking that under would be um if the defense does what I think they're capable of doing with the that kneel and night atmosphere behind them.
- 1:09:41SPEAKER_01: They cause a couple turnovers, Lagway maybe does something dumb trying to make a play and either gets points or causes a short field.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_01: And then you see a game where it, you know, the the volts put up big numbers on the scoreboard, but maybe the offense, you know, Nico has 175 yards, Dylan Sampson has 100 yards, and there's a lot of points on the board, but the offense didn't have to do a whole lot.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_01: I could see that happening.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, if if if you feel good about it, let's let's roll.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_00: We can stay away.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_00: This is stay away.
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_00: You want to do a stay away with this one?
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's do a stay away.
- 1:10:10SPEAKER_00: All right, no stay away.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_00: All right, last game we're gonna talk about.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_00: My LSU Tigers are host or coming off a bye.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_00: We are three and a half point dogs getting three and a half points at home against Ole Miss game 730.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_00: It's a night game.
- 1:10:22SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, Tiger Stadium's gonna be electric coming off a bye.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_00: The defense has made some strides or doing some things in sacks.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_00: We were 112th total defense at this point last season.
- 1:10:33SPEAKER_00: We're down to about 70th, 50th and Havoc rate, which is kind of a quarterback pressure sack tackle for loss.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_00: So things are getting better.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_00: Um uh olmis uh beat us in a crazy shootout 45, 42, I believe it was last year in Oxford, Oxford.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_00: I am really worried about their ability to go hurry up.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_00: And then at that point, LSU just stops pass rushing and they just get picked apart.
- 1:10:57SPEAKER_00: Um, we're going to have the defense is going to have to stay fresh.
- 1:11:01SPEAKER_00: They're gonna have to rotate a lot, I think, for us to really have it.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_00: Um, I do think Ole Miss's defense is overrated.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_00: Um, they haven't challenged their best offensive team they've played is nobody.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_00: I mean, their offenses are pretty pitiful.
- 1:11:15SPEAKER_00: So this is LSU's offense is very, very good.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think we're going to score points.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_00: I think we're gonna challenge them in ways they haven't been challenged before.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think Kentucky is honestly the best offense um that Ole Miss has faced so far.
- 1:11:26SPEAKER_00: So it's been pretty bad.
- 1:11:27SPEAKER_00: Um, so I do love that.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_00: We're coming off a bye.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_00: So we've had time to practice, we have time to get healthy as we're gonna be.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_00: Ole Miss might be down.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_00: Trey Harris, I saw that.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_00: They're wide receiver, they're starting one of their star wide receivers might be hurt.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_00: Um, for the this is the biggest game of our year.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_00: This is the game for LSU.
- 1:11:44SPEAKER_00: It says, are we legitimate contenders for the playoffs?
- 1:11:48SPEAKER_00: And if we do and we're five and one, then I think all of our goals are still there, or we're not.
- 1:11:52SPEAKER_00: We're four and two, and we've got six SEC games ahead of us.
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_00: They're all hard games.
- 1:11:57SPEAKER_00: So this is a huge swing game.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_00: I don't know, it's a third party.
- 1:12:01SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 1:12:03SPEAKER_01: Um, I love this spot for the Tigers coming off of a bye, hosting, you know, a team like Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss Rebels at home.
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_01: I think that stacks up well for him.
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_01: The one thing that really concerns me for LSU in this game is their inability to run the ball.
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_01: One of the last teams in the SEC when it comes to rushing yardage, which puts everything on Garrett Nessmeyer.
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_01: Olmus does have a pretty good D-line.
- 1:12:30SPEAKER_01: They can get after the quarterback a little bit and they can run the ball.
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_01: The way to beat Olmus is to grind grind the the game down a little bit um and and hold on to the ball, limit possessions.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_01: I think this game turns into a shootout.
- 1:12:45SPEAKER_01: It's very likely this is another wild one.
- 1:12:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, and Just Meyer slinging it all over, and then it could go either way.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_01: So um, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_01: I think if you're Lane Kiffen, you you want to you want to run the ball uh to open up the pass game and and then make LSU feel like they've got to start slinging it.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_00: Over under 63 and a half, which is also really high.
- 1:13:09SPEAKER_00: I do like Caden Durham, the other freshman running back who's really emerged.
- 1:13:12SPEAKER_00: He he he showed out against uh South Alabama and UCLA.
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_00: So we're we are starting to see some progress.
- 1:13:17SPEAKER_00: I think the new office corner, Joe Sloan, is starting to scheme things up.
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_00: And honestly, because it's a week off, we're gonna see some trick plays.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_00: There's going to be some pandemonium, some chaos.
- 1:13:26SPEAKER_00: But yeah, Vegas is calling for a big spread.
- 1:13:28SPEAKER_00: LSU's getting three and a half points at home.
- 1:13:30SPEAKER_00: You could literally talk me into anything.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_00: Ole Miss beating us by 14, us winning by six, the game being surprisingly low scoring, the game being 45-45.
- 1:13:39SPEAKER_00: This is kind of like the Tennessee Florida game for you.
- 1:13:41SPEAKER_00: I also have no feel on this one as well.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_01: I do think it's gonna be a high-scoring game.
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_01: I think it's gonna be exciting.
- 1:13:47SPEAKER_01: I think for you, lots of ups and downs, busted coverages on the back end.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_01: You know, Lane Kiffin's gonna dial some things up, but I think you see Nessmeyer shine.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_01: And um, yeah, I think you'll probably see LSU.
- 1:13:58SPEAKER_01: Maybe they try to start the game balanced on offense.
- 1:14:01SPEAKER_01: Um, but I do think eventually they abandon the run and it turns into a shootout for better or worse.
- 1:14:05SPEAKER_01: What you want is a shootout where um you dictate that.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_01: You know, you're in the game, you're hitting some shots early and getting that crowd behind you.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, I think I think this is a fun one.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't know that I'm I'm scared to take an over.
- 1:14:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know who wins.
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_01: I'm not even gonna call who wins on this one.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_00: I think you I think you gotta both the same, but I think we're I think we're staying away from both of our teams this week.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_00: I think we're not gonna bet.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_00: Okay, we'll we'll do the rest anyway.
- 1:14:31SPEAKER_00: That's that's fine.
- 1:14:32SPEAKER_01: Maybe a best practice just in general.
- 1:14:34SPEAKER_00: Best practice, don't bet for or against the balls or tigers.
- 1:14:37SPEAKER_00: And we can't bet against we can't bet or for against UVA or Tech.
- 1:14:39SPEAKER_00: So we're just not gonna bet on homers for the rest of the season.
- 1:14:41SPEAKER_00: How about that?
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_00: Uh that's all good.
- 1:14:43SPEAKER_00: So anyway, we have a seven-legg parlay for today.
- 1:14:45SPEAKER_00: We've got Alabama minus 21, Oklahoma plus 14 and a half, Penn State minus five, Pittsburgh minus three, Arizona money line plus 170.
- 1:14:52SPEAKER_00: That's the big one we're gonna need.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_00: Uh Kansas State, Colorado, over 56 and a half, Ohio State minus three, ten dollars nets you twelve hundred and fifty-three dollars and eighty-seven cents.
- 1:15:03SPEAKER_00: So if you want to win over a thousand bucks, uh make sure you tail that.
- 1:15:06SPEAKER_00: We'll post that in the socials so you'll see the bet.
- 1:15:08SPEAKER_00: I'll probably find a boost.
- 1:15:09SPEAKER_00: So pick up a couple hundred bucks.
- 1:15:11SPEAKER_00: We'll see if I can get a slap of Caesars boost on that thing.
- 1:15:13SPEAKER_01: If you want to win, put booby in.
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, boob that spins.
- 1:15:17SPEAKER_00: Um, so that's the uh place of the game.
- 1:15:19SPEAKER_00: Uh we are at 74 minutes.
- 1:15:21SPEAKER_00: This is the longest probably done this season.
- 1:15:23SPEAKER_00: So it's probably time for us to get the hell out of here.
- 1:15:24SPEAKER_00: Perfectly so.
- 1:15:25SPEAKER_00: It's perfectly so.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_00: Thanks for hanging in there.
- 1:15:27SPEAKER_00: Seriously, and honestly, this has been the best.
- 1:15:29SPEAKER_00: This was the best week of college football we had previously, and we're looking at quite possibly we could be better.
- 1:15:33SPEAKER_00: So if we're gonna have a wrong, long show ever, it's going to be today.
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_00: Anything else with good order before we get out of here?
- 1:15:39SPEAKER_01: Let's get out of here, man.
- 1:15:40SPEAKER_01: Let's get some wins this weekend.
- 1:15:43SPEAKER_00: I'm so exhausted.
