- 0:40SPEAKER_03: I'm your host, Mike Wade, my co-host over there, Mark Franzit and Darren Steadman.
- 0:44SPEAKER_03: How do you guys like our new theme music?
- 0:46SPEAKER_03: At least for now.
- 0:47SPEAKER_04: Nothing like a drumline.
- 0:49SPEAKER_04: And uh one hit wonder from the 80s.
- 0:52SPEAKER_04: Man, what a match made in heaven.
- 0:54SPEAKER_03: Feel the same way.
- 0:55SPEAKER_03: It really does fit.
- 0:56SPEAKER_03: It really is good stuff.
- 0:57SPEAKER_03: It really is good stuff.
- 0:59SPEAKER_03: Uh uh, how was your weekend, guys?
- 1:01SPEAKER_03: I haven't seen you guys all weekend.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: What'd you guys do this weekend?
- 1:04SPEAKER_04: Man, went to the spiders game.
- 1:06SPEAKER_04: Went to see the University of Richmond Spiders.
- 1:08SPEAKER_04: Oh, you did?
- 1:09SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 1:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, here in the hometown, Richmond.
- 1:13SPEAKER_04: You can walk just right down on the track, right behind the benches where the players are sitting.
- 1:19SPEAKER_04: And just walk around.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: Who do they play?
- 1:24SPEAKER_04: Georgetown Hoyas.
- 1:25SPEAKER_04: So Mike and I have a friend who is the head athletic trainer.
- 1:30SPEAKER_04: Shout out, uh, Lydia for the uh for the Hoyas.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: And so she's there.
- 1:34SPEAKER_04: She said she'd been rapping ankles and wrists and backs and butt cheeks for like the last three hours prior to game time.
- 1:42SPEAKER_04: And she had a couple guys in the tent, like game time decision.
- 1:45SPEAKER_04: It was her, you know, it's go time on us on a Saturday morning for a had the athletic trainer, of course, just like the guys.
- 1:52SPEAKER_03: I was so disappointed we missed that game.
- 1:54SPEAKER_03: One, I just wanted I I still haven't been to a Spiders football game.
- 1:56SPEAKER_03: Been to like I've been to a Spiders baseball, lacrosse, and basketball game and women's basketball game.
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: I've yet to be to a football game.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: And this and going with Lydia and the uh Cathy Wrights would have been the perfect chance to do something.
- 2:05SPEAKER_03: So I'm so sad I missed that.
- 2:07SPEAKER_03: Speaking of on the football, on the gridiron, I heard they barely beat them, and that's not a great sign for our beloved hometown spiders.
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: I heard it was a close game.
- 2:14SPEAKER_03: Did you stay for the whole time or did you and Abby peel off?
- 2:16SPEAKER_04: No, we left at halftime.
- 2:18SPEAKER_04: It was blazing heat, sun.
- 2:19SPEAKER_04: Uh, we left, kind of kept track at the end of the game, but yeah, they needed a they needed a last second field goal to beat Georgetown.
- 2:26SPEAKER_04: Um, yeah, it's a lot of fun.
- 2:28SPEAKER_04: You can sit really close, it's like high school.
- 2:30SPEAKER_04: So you can sit really close, it's great.
- 2:32SPEAKER_03: I don't know if it says more about the spiders, more about the Hoyas, but I'm I'm glad you saw at least a half of entertaining football.
- 2:37SPEAKER_03: That's yeah, that's good stuff.
- 2:38SPEAKER_03: That's good stuff.
- 2:39SPEAKER_03: Mr.
- 2:39SPEAKER_03: Franzer, what'd you do this weekend?
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: I ended up going to a local high school game.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: Godwin played Hanover, a game we went to a couple years ago up in the middle.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: That's right, man.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: I got a late invite on Friday to go, and I took the 10-year-old, and it was great.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: They got destroyed.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: It was like 40 something to six at halftime.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: It was it was a bloodbath.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: But it's still a good time.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: Still a good time.
- 3:00SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 3:01SPEAKER_03: Proud Eagles.
- 3:01SPEAKER_03: I was at uh place called Shrymont, which some of you listening have heard of on our church retreat.
- 3:06SPEAKER_03: Had a good time.
- 3:07SPEAKER_03: I was watching LSU on an iPad in a uh basket chair with sketchy Wi-Fi signals in the mountains of Shenandoah County, where Darren Sedman's actually from, so he knows a little bit about that.
- 3:17SPEAKER_03: Um, great time.
- 3:18SPEAKER_03: Didn't get nearly as much football consumption as I typically do and didn't sleep as well.
- 3:22SPEAKER_03: I'm such an old man.
- 3:23SPEAKER_03: Like I was I slept at Shrinemont for two nights.
- 3:25SPEAKER_03: I'm like still like kind of sleepy and tired.
- 3:27SPEAKER_03: I can't sleep anywhere but my own home.
- 3:29SPEAKER_03: That is like, if that's not your 40s in a nutshell, I don't know what is.
- 3:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, I think it's really is the thing is like sleepovers, hard pass.
- 3:36SPEAKER_03: Can't do it.
- 3:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, as soon as you get to your vacation retreat, you just start talking about how you can't wait to get back home to my own bed.
- 3:43SPEAKER_03: You know what I really need here on my vacation?
- 3:46SPEAKER_03: My own bed at home, not on vacation.
- 3:48SPEAKER_03: That's what I need.
- 3:49SPEAKER_03: That'll make me feel better.
- 3:50SPEAKER_04: Lame.
- 3:51SPEAKER_04: Another wedgie lame.
- 3:52SPEAKER_03: So lame.
- 3:53SPEAKER_03: All right, that's enough.
- 3:54SPEAKER_03: Get off my lawn uh for this for this evening.
- 3:57SPEAKER_03: So schedules tonight.
- 3:58SPEAKER_03: We so it's already Monday night.
- 4:00SPEAKER_03: We the games were 48 hours ago.
- 4:01SPEAKER_03: You guys already know what happened, so we're not gonna unpack all that.
- 4:03SPEAKER_03: What we're gonna talk about tonight is just what did we learn?
- 4:06SPEAKER_03: Each of us have brought four things, four key takeaways that we have learned from week three action.
- 4:12SPEAKER_03: We're gonna kind of break them down by quarters, four quarters, four football games, first, second, third, fourth.
- 4:16SPEAKER_03: First ones we feel good about, the fourth one we feel the strongest.
- 4:19SPEAKER_03: So kind of a good, better, better, best type model.
- 4:23SPEAKER_03: We'll wrap up with a quick six.
- 4:24SPEAKER_03: Make sure you're on the Discord.
- 4:26SPEAKER_03: Uh, do that.
- 4:26SPEAKER_03: Dan will talk about that when we get there.
- 4:28SPEAKER_03: But for now, uh, let's go ahead and jump in.
- 4:31SPEAKER_03: Gentlemen, week three.
- 4:33SPEAKER_03: What what did you learn?
- 4:35SPEAKER_03: Who wants to start?
- 4:38SPEAKER_03: Oh, go ahead.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: I'm ready for you.
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: The middle of the ACC is undisciplined and sloppy football.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: Wake Forest, Louisville, SMU all had critical penalties that took them out of their own games.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: Louisville ended up beating SMU, but each time the team had a chance, they would get in their own way, fumble the ball, or get a horrible penalty, self-inflicted beatings of themselves.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: And I think that's what's gonna be that's what's gonna hinder most of the mid of the ACC, where I then see Pitt and Virginia Tech being able to step up and take a spot from one of those three teams.
- 5:14SPEAKER_03: You said Louisville SMU, and who was your other team who said those guilty penalty?
- 5:19SPEAKER_03: Wake.
- 5:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they wake it up some bad calls at a stupid Miami game.
- 5:22SPEAKER_03: I'll I did watch a fair amount of the Louisville SMU game, and I've got a I've got a take on that as well.
- 5:26SPEAKER_03: But it was for Jeff Braum team, which is one of the best coaches in the country, Louisville head coach, those teams are usually well coached and disciplined.
- 5:33SPEAKER_03: So it is a little bizarre.
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: You gotta think as the season goes on, that'll get cleaned up, but it has been weird how many flags have been the early action of ACC here in September.
- 5:44SPEAKER_03: Good stuff.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: Dan, what about you?
- 5:47SPEAKER_04: You know, keep it in the keep it in the ACC.
- 5:50SPEAKER_04: My first takeaway is that I think I now understand the pecking order of our uh Virginia football programs and Virginia Tech's at the top.
- 6:00SPEAKER_04: And I just want to be crystal clear about that uh here um on September 21st after week three at this particular point in time.
- 6:09SPEAKER_04: But a lot of people might have said UVA was the class um of the league of the conference over the past year or so, or several years.
- 6:18SPEAKER_04: Uh, but yeah, I think the Virginia Tech is the best of the Virginia schools.
- 6:22SPEAKER_04: And second place, here's where you're really gonna hate me, folks.
- 6:25SPEAKER_04: Um, JMU went to San Diego.
- 6:29SPEAKER_04: Big win.
- 6:29SPEAKER_04: Beat win San Diego State.
- 6:31SPEAKER_04: They were a three-point dog, they sure were, and went to the West Coast and beat San Diego State.
- 6:37SPEAKER_04: So where does that leave the Wahoos?
- 6:39SPEAKER_04: Um, maybe the third best team in Virginia?
- 6:42SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 6:42SPEAKER_04: I don't want to go there, but we could we can flip a coin for those two.
- 6:46SPEAKER_04: But you know, my hook.
- 6:47SPEAKER_03: Let's not besmirch let's not besmirch the proud ODU monarchs or Liberty Flames.
- 6:51SPEAKER_03: They're right there in that middle tier as well.
- 6:53SPEAKER_03: Let's not as well.
- 6:54SPEAKER_03: And you know, Jamiew looked really good in San Diego State.
- 6:57SPEAKER_03: It looks like Napier's kind of figured out his quarterback situation, so I that's good on them.
- 7:02SPEAKER_03: Uh good good on them, good on Jamiew for getting the win.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: Uh UVA, uh, not so much.
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: You know, that's actually my first one as well.
- 7:08SPEAKER_03: My first uh what did I learn?
- 7:10SPEAKER_03: The West Virginia University football team is a fun watch.
- 7:14SPEAKER_03: It is Rich Rodriguez all over again.
- 7:17SPEAKER_03: It's crazy.
- 7:17SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm we're all I'm gonna we're gonna I'm gonna date all the all the hosts on this podcast right now.
- 7:22SPEAKER_03: We all remember the Steve Slayton, uh Noelle Devine, Pat White, Owen Schmidt, um West Virginia teams.
- 7:30SPEAKER_03: Like they are running the same stuff.
- 7:32SPEAKER_03: Let me get you some with some quick stats real quick.
- 7:35SPEAKER_03: Uh uh Michael Hawkins and Cam Cook, the quarterback and running back, both averaging over 100 yards per game.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: They've rushed for 850 yards through three games.
- 7:44SPEAKER_03: They've only passed for 531.
- 7:47SPEAKER_03: They are the fastest team or second fastest team, 19.3 seconds left in the play clock, one of the fastest teams in football.
- 7:53SPEAKER_03: They are they're doing the same formation, same plays, like it's it's back.
- 7:58SPEAKER_03: It's literally, it feels like a time capsule for 20 years ago.
- 8:00SPEAKER_03: Um, I don't know how how I don't know what it means in terms of their like longevity, in terms of their ability to win the Big 12.
- 8:06SPEAKER_03: I'm still have major questions about their defense, but say what you will about West Virginia.
- 8:10SPEAKER_03: The fun is back.
- 8:11SPEAKER_03: That's what's one thing I definitely learned from that game.
- 8:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because 20 years ago, um, they were a huge thorn in the side of my hokies when we were really good.
- 8:20SPEAKER_04: I mean, when we were a top 15 team, they were a national championship flirting team, you know, going undefeated through most of the season.
- 8:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, West Virginia is a good watch.
- 8:30SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 8:31SPEAKER_04: That's well said.
- 8:32SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 8:33SPEAKER_04: Michael Hawkins.
- 8:34SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 8:35SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go ahead and do the second one because the second one kind of segues into all we're talking about.
- 8:38SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna go ahead and do it right now.
- 8:39SPEAKER_03: My second one, Ethan Gronkemeyer, Virginia Tech quarterback.
- 8:43SPEAKER_03: I think he's the NFL quarterback.
- 8:45SPEAKER_03: I think he is really coming to his own.
- 8:48SPEAKER_03: 865 yards, 21st in the country.
- 8:50SPEAKER_03: He's completing 78.2%.
- 8:52SPEAKER_03: That's absolutely elite.
- 8:54SPEAKER_03: Seven touchdowns, zero picks, QBR of 86.4, the 13th in the country.
- 8:59SPEAKER_03: This is what Penn State was excited about two years ago.
- 9:02SPEAKER_03: I don't think I realized how big of a coup it was for Franklin to get him to come with him, especially with Luke Reynolds, also a stud, which we can talk about at another at another monster day.
- 9:11SPEAKER_03: I think, I think like 12 catches and 100 yards and touchdown.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: Uh, I am more interested in Virginia Tech now than I was a week ago, specifically because I mean Maryland has flaws, Maryland did some things well, tech is imperfect, they got things to work on, but I didn't realize how high the ceiling was of Grunkenmeyer until this past Saturday.
- 9:30SPEAKER_03: I know, Darren, you agree with me, but I would love to hear your what do you think?
- 9:34SPEAKER_04: 31 completions the last two games.
- 9:37SPEAKER_04: Um, and that's I mean, yeah, he's throwing for over uh 78%.
- 9:44SPEAKER_04: His completion percentage is 78% right now.
- 9:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's doing all the right things.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: It's nice, it's nice to have those tight ends that can always catch a seven-yard pass, like always, always over and over.
- 9:54SPEAKER_04: And so that's how it's getting done.
- 9:56SPEAKER_04: But he's yeah, he's 6'2, 213, so he's got the build, he's he's got like season-long longevity build.
- 10:03SPEAKER_04: It's tremendously exciting.
- 10:04SPEAKER_04: And it sounds crazy because we're talking about a Virginia Tech quarterback like this, but like you said, he was a Penn State quarterback, he was a Big Ten national championship uh target quarterback just a year ago.
- 10:17SPEAKER_04: So that's that's who he is.
- 10:19SPEAKER_04: Uh uh, yeah.
- 10:20SPEAKER_03: Uh is it is it a hot take to say he's the best quarterback since Tyrod?
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: And I mean, I I I mean I think I think either him or Tyrod's gotta be the best Virginia Tech quarterbacks.
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm thinking Brewer, obviously Hooker.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: He blossomed when he went to when he eventually moved over.
- 10:34SPEAKER_03: Um Logan Thomas was good.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: Logan Thomas was okay, Sean Evans with adjusting for a minute there.
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I you know, I'm I'm not that high on Sean Glennon, which you and I talked about, Noel from back in the day.
- 10:47SPEAKER_03: I mean, like, honestly, it's it's a small sample size.
- 10:49SPEAKER_03: He says he has three starts, two of them were against paper bags, so okay, okay, okay.
- 10:54SPEAKER_03: But like, I don't think we're I think we're two or three weeks away from saying that's the best Virginia Tech quarterback since Tyrod.
- 11:01SPEAKER_03: And for my money, the first or second best Virginia Tech quarterback I've ever seen.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: I didn't watch the Hokies until the 90s, so there might be somebody further back that I don't know about, but that's that's about where I am on my man Ihook.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: That's oh well God, I don't I can't believe I said that.
- 11:15SPEAKER_03: That was embarrassing.
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: All right, sense Vic.
- 11:18SPEAKER_03: That's the take.
- 11:19SPEAKER_03: I can't believe I've got Vic.
- 11:20SPEAKER_03: Unbelievable.
- 11:21SPEAKER_03: No, you're good.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: And I think my my main I want to see him up against Pitt in two weeks.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: Boston College coming up should be, you know, hopefully he plays well as the last couple weeks.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: They should roll.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: But but uh going against Pitt defense is gonna be a great test.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: And then I want to come back to this conversation.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: Um, and this segues into my second quarter.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: Not to not to jump on the UVA train, but Bo Prabula and UVA can't throw the ball farther than eight yards.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: They are they are in the flats all day, they can run, but I think West Virginia just stood in the box and said, We dare you to run against us, and UVA couldn't do it.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: Nothing beyond a 10-yard pass.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: Now, Tweedy, I always want to say Conway Tweedy, but I think it's like Dakota Tweety is their tight end, and um he's a fine tight end, but they have no wide receiver help.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: And if they can't figure out how to get the ball downfield, everybody's just gonna stack the box against them, and they're not gonna be able to move forward and they'll stay in that middle range of the ACC.
- 12:18SPEAKER_03: That's kind of what we saw at the NC State game.
- 12:20SPEAKER_03: Was they they eventually, I mean, he did have a couple of big big plays, but that's where they had literally eight or nine guys in the box, and they were at those, they were they were totally selling out to stop the run, and they still couldn't do it.
- 12:29SPEAKER_03: So Grunkemer, so Gronkemeyer, excuse me, Prabula had his chance to take his shots downfield.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: Uh, that was, yeah, that was a major setback game in my mind for Prabula, who really looked like he could do no harm through two weeks.
- 12:42SPEAKER_03: And it also seems also just as I you know, as the sample size get bigger, the aperture, we are now learning that NC State actually might be an atrocious football team as well.
- 12:50SPEAKER_03: So what we saw happen week zero is getting less and less impressive.
- 12:56SPEAKER_03: All right, that's enough about the Hokies and the Wahoos.
- 12:58SPEAKER_03: I hope.
- 12:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, what's your second takeaway?
- 13:01SPEAKER_04: We'll take it um out of the ACC.
- 13:04SPEAKER_04: So I've got this group of teams that I've got to um unfortunately say goodbye to as my insta underbats team, and it's Iowa and Michigan and Auburn.
- 13:16SPEAKER_04: They're just no longer the instant under teams.
- 13:20SPEAKER_04: You know, for so a couple more couple years, it's been like I can always count on these guys to only score 17 points and like bet an under, like I said last episode.
- 13:31SPEAKER_04: You know, you wake up Saturday morning, you bet the Iowa under.
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: It's just gone.
- 13:35SPEAKER_04: Auburn can score a little bit, and their defense is not the defense I thought.
- 13:40SPEAKER_04: Same from Michigan.
- 13:41SPEAKER_04: Michigan's got their offense together, they're doing, you know, and Iowa all of a sudden is gonna score 40 points whenever they want to.
- 13:48SPEAKER_04: So I'm just saying goodbye to my um, you know, to my defense first and offense non-existent teams.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: You said that because one of them My number five was this is not your uncle's Iowa team.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: Uh but I held back on that one.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: But you're you're right, man.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: Like, no way did I think they would put up 55 against Northern Iowa.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: I and I even said it last week, they would lower themselves to the competition back in the day, but that's not the same team anymore.
- 14:15SPEAKER_02: And that's why I'm on the Iowa bandwagon.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: Mike?
- 14:57SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, I think what I think what's gonna happen is Michigan's gonna figure out who they are, which is they are they're a team that's that's gonna run with Bryce Underwood a lot.
- 15:04SPEAKER_03: Um, I think that guy's gonna be spending a lot of time in the ice bath this season.
- 15:08SPEAKER_03: I think he's gonna take a lot of shots, but that's that's really where they are best, is when they are really more a dual threat guy.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: I think they would prefer if he was a more pocket passer.
- 15:15SPEAKER_03: I just don't think that's the skill set.
- 15:17SPEAKER_03: And I think we've seen enough in the Oklahoma and the Western Michigan games.
- 15:20SPEAKER_03: He did a little better.
- 15:21SPEAKER_03: He was 19 for 25 or 223 and two touchdowns against UTEP, but we're still talking about UTEP.
- 15:27SPEAKER_03: My point is I think you're right, Darren.
- 15:29SPEAKER_03: I think Michigan has gotten their offensive identity identity together, but I think that identity is also Bryce Underwood.
- 15:35SPEAKER_03: I think it's a three-headed rushing attack.
- 15:36SPEAKER_03: I think it's Savion Heider, Jordan Marshall, and Bryce Underwood all running the ball a lot.
- 15:41SPEAKER_03: That's gonna be that's gonna be Michigan's gonna be.
- 15:43SPEAKER_03: Michigan's gonna run the ball and play defense.
- 15:46SPEAKER_04: Sounds like Coach Whittingham to me.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Sure does.
- 15:50SPEAKER_04: Sure does.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: Uh Mark, what do you got next?
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: Uh you have your second quarter.
- 15:56SPEAKER_03: My second quarter?
- 15:57SPEAKER_03: No, he didn't.
- 15:58SPEAKER_03: I think he did.
- 15:59SPEAKER_03: I did my two.
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: Oh you did.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: Oh, my bad, my bad.
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: Then I've done my oh, I've done my two.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: I did uh UVA can't stretch the field.
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: All right, third quarter.
- 16:07SPEAKER_04: We're coming out of halftime.
- 16:08SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 16:09SPEAKER_03: Coming out of halftime.
- 16:10SPEAKER_03: Uh I'll go I'll go ahead and leave with this.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: Um, so I yes, while yes, Louisville was sloppy.
- 16:16SPEAKER_03: I think you can go ahead and pencil them into the ACC championship.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: I'm looking at the rest of their schedule.
- 16:21SPEAKER_03: One, that old miss loss, which is looking a whole lot better.
- 16:24SPEAKER_03: Uh, 41-38, a couple stupid penalties, just couldn't have had it.
- 16:29SPEAKER_03: Their defense still has some ways to go, but I think they'll get better.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: They have a pass rush, they have uh two guys named Brown who are both outstanding, and Lincoln Penals, who I think actually might be an NFL quarterback.
- 16:40SPEAKER_03: We've talked about this before.
- 16:42SPEAKER_03: You know, he's the guy that lost the job to Julian Saiyan.
- 16:45SPEAKER_03: And like we said, like, man, I'm the second best quarterback on Julian Saiyan's team might be pretty damn good.
- 16:51SPEAKER_03: And I think Jeff Brahm's team with Link with a pass rush, with two outstanding running backs with wide receivers and an NFL quarterback versus Wake at NC State versus Florida State at Syracuse versus Stanford at Georgia Tech at North Carolina.
- 17:06SPEAKER_03: The last two games are interesting, of course, versus Pitt and at Kentucky.
- 17:09SPEAKER_03: Kentucky might be good.
- 17:10SPEAKER_03: We saw what happened when they when they beat the pants off of AM.
- 17:13SPEAKER_03: But I'm and that's not but that's not that doesn't count as a conference game.
- 17:16SPEAKER_03: So my point, I've got Louisville as that second team.
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: Maybe you're hokies, but right now I'm seeing I'm seeing it through through three weeks, a close loss to Ole Miss, who's the top three team, and beating SMU.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: I am really high on Louisville.
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: I think they are rapid league sending.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were the second playoff team in the ACC.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: That's that's kind of what I think I'm seeing.
- 17:39SPEAKER_04: You said it right, pencil them in, and even as a hokey fan, I cannot stand against that.
- 17:44SPEAKER_04: Um it's like it's like the I say it in my head, it's like the modern um law firm.
- 17:50SPEAKER_04: It's it's Keenholz, Brown, and Brown.
- 17:53SPEAKER_04: Just call Keenholz Brown and Brown for 500 yards a game.
- 17:58SPEAKER_04: Um yeah, both I mean both Browns.
- 18:00SPEAKER_04: Isaac Brown, we were talking about, but then here he comes K1 and Keywon, yeah, Keywon Brown.
- 18:06SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh.
- 18:06SPEAKER_04: Both those guys, and like you said, Keenholz.
- 18:10SPEAKER_04: Um, he looks NFL ready.
- 18:12SPEAKER_04: Decisions, size, scrambling, moving in the pocket and still completing long passes.
- 18:18SPEAKER_04: He's doing it all.
- 18:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Louisville, Louisville's for real.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: I don't I just don't think they're gonna be, I just don't think I really don't think they're gonna be detested until November.
- 18:25SPEAKER_03: I mean, Wake, NC State, Florida State at home at Syracuse, maybe tricky spots and people losing that dome sometimes versus Stanford at home, not even flying across the country.
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: I mean, I think they are going to roll.
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: They're gonna be sitting on seven and one with going at Georgia Tech, which also might be terrible, at UNC, also might be terrible.
- 18:44SPEAKER_03: I mean, I've got them penciled in.
- 18:47SPEAKER_03: If it weren't for Pitt, I would say, I would say confidently they're gonna go undefeated in the ACC.
- 18:51SPEAKER_03: Like, I I really am I really like what I see a lot out of Louisville.
- 18:54SPEAKER_04: So got a really excellent two-in-one roster uh record right now.
- 18:59SPEAKER_04: They've got a better two-in-one record than my three-o record.
- 19:02SPEAKER_04: That's for sure.
- 19:03SPEAKER_03: I think so too.
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: I think so too.
- 19:06SPEAKER_04: All right, what you got?
- 19:08SPEAKER_04: My number two, I got um, I'm sticking with uh quarterbacks.
- 19:12SPEAKER_04: Um the case for a quarterback will win the Heisman, and we've been debating this several weeks now about is the Heisman going to a wide receiver this year, perhaps a quarterback.
- 19:24SPEAKER_04: The case for a quarterback Heisman just got way stronger.
- 19:28SPEAKER_04: Camario Taylor is skyrocketed right up to the top five.
- 19:34SPEAKER_04: Keelan Russell right up there as well.
- 19:37SPEAKER_04: Um, you got Chamblis and Mensa at the top two.
- 19:41SPEAKER_04: I mean, this is like this is gonna be impossible.
- 19:44SPEAKER_04: And I love, love, I've said it every week.
- 19:47SPEAKER_04: Malikatoni, Jeremiah Smith, Electric, Electric, but these quarterbacks are amazing.
- 19:53SPEAKER_04: Comario Taylor, I'm I am already, thank goodness, I'm already done like questioning him.
- 20:00SPEAKER_04: I'm not gonna fade Mississippi State anymore.
- 20:04SPEAKER_04: I'm not I tried to I tried to say he's gonna learn his lessons and come back to earth at Minnesota.
- 20:09SPEAKER_04: South Carolina's a real defense.
- 20:11SPEAKER_04: Nope, he does not care.
- 20:12SPEAKER_04: He is Heisman ready, and uh Keelon Russell's doing the very same thing, and so these quarterbacks are electric.
- 20:21SPEAKER_04: Let's watch.
- 20:23SPEAKER_04: Go ahead.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: I was watching that first half, and I thought of you when he threw an interception, and I think it was like in the first quarter, and I was like, oh, Darren's right, Camario's going down, and then he just lit up that South Carolina defense.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: And I like you said, they are a legit D.
- 20:36SPEAKER_02: Mike.
- 20:37SPEAKER_03: I was just really impressed with the way they bounced.
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: I was gonna say those thought that South Carolina, I think they were down 16-0 or 13-0, and it was like no, that's Williams Bryce is a tough place to play.
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: South Carolina has a rabid fan base.
- 20:48SPEAKER_03: When that place is alive, it's a hard place to get a win.
- 20:50SPEAKER_03: And they were down 13, 16, nothing.
- 20:52SPEAKER_03: Kamario Taylor, like, no panic, had total control of that offense.
- 20:56SPEAKER_03: They are so he is so good at running what Jeff Levy wants to do, and they're so dynamic where they've got these track stars out wide, all they're getting they can get open.
- 21:05SPEAKER_03: And if but if but if you want to, if they want to, if they need to pound it, Fluff Bothwell is physical as heck and he could absolutely knock your teeth in.
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: So they've got this incredible triple threat of we can play smash mouth football with Fluff Bothwell.
- 21:18SPEAKER_03: We've got track stars on the outside, all while Camaro Taylor himself might just keep it and take it to the house himself.
- 21:23SPEAKER_03: Like Mississippi State's offense is something else.
- 21:27SPEAKER_03: Their offensive line is truly atrocious.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: That's that might be an issue that catches up with them at some point.
- 21:32SPEAKER_03: I think they have some tough games.
- 21:33SPEAKER_03: They're playing Texas pretty soon, and they have a doozy this week as well.
- 21:37SPEAKER_03: They're playing somebody pretty good this week as well.
- 21:39SPEAKER_03: I can't remember.
- 21:40SPEAKER_03: So they're far from a perfect team.
- 21:42SPEAKER_03: I don't think anyone's calling for them to make the playoffs or win the or anything like that.
- 21:46SPEAKER_03: But I mean, on offense, it is really, really hard to argue against Camario and what he's doing.
- 21:52SPEAKER_03: This, I mean, he's uh I mean I'm I'm gonna try I'm gonna try not to show my ass again this tonight, talking about uh quarterback histories.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Best quarterback since Dak.
- 22:01SPEAKER_03: And if you go back before Dak, I don't know.
- 22:04SPEAKER_03: I I got nobody.
- 22:06SPEAKER_03: There's no Mike Vick on that squad in the 90s that I know of.
- 22:08SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 22:08SPEAKER_04: Knock on wood.
- 22:09SPEAKER_04: No, yeah.
- 22:09SPEAKER_04: I think you got that one right.
- 22:10SPEAKER_03: I think I got that one right.
- 22:12SPEAKER_03: I think that I got that right.
- 22:12SPEAKER_03: I think him and Dak, two best Mississippi State quarterbacks I've ever seen.
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: I feel good about that.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: All right, good stuff.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: Uh who's next, number three?
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Take this one.
- 22:24SPEAKER_02: Uh I think Texas Tech ends above 20 in the rankings at the end of the season.
- 22:30SPEAKER_02: The Houston should have Houston tied that game, and uh they won't got that one called back.
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: That should have gone to overtime.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: Texas Tech, I think, ends up losing.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: That game in overtime.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: I think they end up getting upset by a Baylor, an Arizona State, Oklahoma State.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: Like they have been the perennial, the front runner in the Big 12 all season, but I think they're going to start falling off soon.
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: They were not very good against Houston.
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: And I think Houston had them all game.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: But that last that call, and I don't know how they did not call that last two-point conversion good, but I think Texas Tech drops out, and you're going to start seeing the bottom fall out in the next couple weeks.
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: They've got a little bit of time to get together.
- 23:13SPEAKER_03: They got Sam Houston next, and then go at Colorado.
- 23:15SPEAKER_03: At Colorado, we just saw just got embarrassed at Northwestern.
- 23:18SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you guys saw that.
- 23:19SPEAKER_03: Really, really.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: They really got mushed there.
- 23:21SPEAKER_03: Then it gets then it gets tough.
- 23:23SPEAKER_03: Arizona State at Cincinnati.
- 23:24SPEAKER_03: JC French is a good quarterback versus Arizona.
- 23:27SPEAKER_03: No Fafitas, again, well, you saw we did that BYU game.
- 23:30SPEAKER_03: He's not going to be afraid.
- 23:31SPEAKER_03: West Virginia is tough.
- 23:32SPEAKER_03: Oklahoma State might be really good.
- 23:34SPEAKER_03: And then you got Baylor and TCU, two teams that off to a slow starting season, but we think might get better.
- 23:39SPEAKER_03: My point is Texas Tech has some time to kind of figure it out, but they got to figure it out quick.
- 23:43SPEAKER_03: That defense, I got red flags going up everywhere.
- 23:46SPEAKER_03: It's nothing is more indicative than how little confidence.
- 23:49SPEAKER_03: I can't believe they put Thomas Castellanos in for one play.
- 23:52SPEAKER_03: He threw an interception and then they benched him.
- 23:54SPEAKER_03: Like it's bad enough.
- 23:56SPEAKER_03: Like it's it's all makes sense now.
- 23:57SPEAKER_03: Like I think I said this last week.
- 24:00SPEAKER_03: They really wanted to keep Brendan Soresby, and now it's becoming abundantly clear why.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: They do not believe in Will Hammond.
- 24:06SPEAKER_03: Will, what is Will Hammond thinking right now?
- 24:09SPEAKER_03: The whole Brendan Soresby, okay, Brendan Soresby's better than me.
- 24:11SPEAKER_03: I get that.
- 24:12SPEAKER_03: I'm his backup.
- 24:13SPEAKER_03: Oh, now I have the job.
- 24:14SPEAKER_03: Okay, they really, really don't want me to have the job.
- 24:17SPEAKER_03: They're going to court, they're fighting legal baggles.
- 24:19SPEAKER_03: Wow, they really don't want me to be starting quarterback.
- 24:21SPEAKER_03: They get they they get here and then they bring in Thomas Castellanos and he starts the game just to throw a pick.
- 24:27SPEAKER_03: Like if you're Will Hammond, your confidence has got to be hovering in the at sea level right now.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: Just there's no belief in anybody on that coaching staff.
- 24:37SPEAKER_03: That poor guy.
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: I just get like this obviously this defense.
- 24:40SPEAKER_03: There's no Devin, there's no uh David Bailey, there's no Romello Height.
- 24:44SPEAKER_03: Uh the superstars simply are not there.
- 24:47SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, I've got I am I am bearish on the Red Ragers.
- 24:50SPEAKER_04: So they are the fool's gold.
- 24:52SPEAKER_04: This is their this is their all-time peak of the season this week.
- 24:57SPEAKER_04: Coming off that win and going into some losses.
- 25:00SPEAKER_04: They are um they are fool's gold.
- 25:02SPEAKER_04: Hammond did enough.
- 25:04SPEAKER_04: Hammond is okay.
- 25:05SPEAKER_04: He is an okay quarterback, but he will be figured out by defensive coordinators and coaches really soon.
- 25:11unknown: Yeah.
- 25:12SPEAKER_03: Shout out to Arizona State for going to England and winning a silly game against Kansas.
- 25:17SPEAKER_03: Can't believe they did that.
- 25:18SPEAKER_03: Bizarre.
- 25:19SPEAKER_04: Bonkers.
- 25:22SPEAKER_04: Um, my third one, let's um no, uh uh are we in four?
- 25:25SPEAKER_04: Are we in fourth quarter?
- 25:27SPEAKER_04: I've only got one left.
- 25:27SPEAKER_04: I've only got one left.
- 25:28SPEAKER_04: How many of you got?
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: I've got one left.
- 25:30SPEAKER_04: Is this where we throw up the shall throw up the fours?
- 25:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, four courses.
- 25:33SPEAKER_04: Fourth quarter four.
- 25:35SPEAKER_04: Um mine is mine is that uh, and this is not gonna shock so many people, but the SEC is so deep and so good.
- 25:46SPEAKER_04: Um the bottom of of that conference is basically non-existent.
- 25:52SPEAKER_04: So I've got, you know, you can look at every conference, and I I would say the top is like who is scary good that you do not want to ever play, Miami being one.
- 26:02SPEAKER_04: Um, the top of that conference, I've got four scary good teams Texas, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Alabama.
- 26:09SPEAKER_04: Sorry for LSU fans after this week.
- 26:11SPEAKER_03: We'll be back.
- 26:11SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 26:12SPEAKER_03: You'll you'll be you'll be adding us to that list.
- 26:14SPEAKER_03: Then you know it.
- 26:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so there's scary good, and then the middle of every conference has a good handful of teams that are good, and then there's the bottom that should that is not good, that is bad.
- 26:25SPEAKER_04: Um SEC kind of doesn't have a bottom, so they have Vandy and Arkansas.
- 26:31SPEAKER_04: Vandy just uh took a win.
- 26:34SPEAKER_03: Vandy's undefeated somehow, right?
- 26:36SPEAKER_04: They just took a win.
- 26:37SPEAKER_04: Um, Arkansas's not great, but you know, that's the bottom of the conference.
- 26:42SPEAKER_04: There are 12 teams in the middle that are really good, that are just as good, I say, as who did I leave leave out?
- 26:50SPEAKER_04: Um, LSU, uh, you know, Kentucky and Mississippi State just joined the club.
- 26:55SPEAKER_04: Uh USC.
- 26:58SPEAKER_04: Florida's looking just as good as as anybody.
- 27:01SPEAKER_04: So the middle of that conference, SEC, anyway, it all boils down to this.
- 27:04SPEAKER_04: The college football playoff, I say today in September, should absolutely have six SE team teams in it.
- 27:11SPEAKER_03: Man, yeah.
- 27:13SPEAKER_03: It seems like they've raised the bar.
- 27:15SPEAKER_03: It might, I mean, I think I I don't know about six, I think, I think five, but I wouldn't be I obviously wouldn't be shocked.
- 27:20SPEAKER_03: If there's six SEC squads, I feel pretty good about my chances.
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: But um, I mean, I know I think you're I think you're absolutely right.
- 27:26SPEAKER_03: We're gonna learn a lot about uh this coming week when we see, I mean, we see we see I mean you we didn't mention Tennessee.
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: Tennessee could shock the world.
- 27:32SPEAKER_03: They get Texas at home at noon.
- 27:34SPEAKER_03: They got totally hosed on our time.
- 27:35SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna say it again.
- 27:37SPEAKER_03: Uh so we're gonna we're gonna learn a lot about them as well.
- 27:39SPEAKER_03: No, I agree with you.
- 27:40SPEAKER_03: I think that all the offseason chatter was rightfully so about the Big Ten.
- 27:43SPEAKER_03: They won three national championships, they looked like they had a three-headed super monster with um Ohio State, Oregon, Indiana.
- 27:51SPEAKER_03: Oregon, we are all second-guessing ourselves there on Oregon that at two and one.
- 27:54SPEAKER_03: Uh Ohio State's taking a loss and a bad, really a choke job, so to speak.
- 27:59SPEAKER_03: Indiana's kind of quietly putzing along.
- 28:01SPEAKER_03: Michigan has flaws.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: USC nearly lost to uh Rutgers this past weekend.
- 28:05SPEAKER_03: I don't think anyone's impressed by anything's doing yes.
- 28:07SPEAKER_03: UW seems like they're treading water.
- 28:10SPEAKER_03: It's it's you know, it seems like the shift is slowly happening back.
- 28:15SPEAKER_03: Now, the Big Ten took a week off.
- 28:17SPEAKER_03: They might they're they're they're scheduling, they scheduled some real games this week, so we'll get a better view.
- 28:22SPEAKER_03: But um, monster week for the SEC, I totally agree.
- 28:24SPEAKER_03: What are you saying, Mark?
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: My bad.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: No, I was gonna say earlier that I think Arkansas would go in and destroy Rutgers any day.
- 28:32SPEAKER_03: You would hope so.
- 28:33SPEAKER_03: I think they're S yeah, yeah, go ahead.
- 28:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the bottom of the SEC is way better than the bottom of the Big Ten.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: Oh, and they would destroy most any team in the ACC uh right now.
- 28:44SPEAKER_02: So I uh man, yeah, you're right.
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: I support your SEC is is really, really good right now.
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: And then the best part, they're all gonna be go beat each other up for the next couple weeks.
- 28:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: Carnage.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be carnage.
- 28:56SPEAKER_03: Carnage.
- 28:58SPEAKER_04: Make them a case for a 9-3 Florida to go ahead and make it.
- 29:02SPEAKER_03: Oh, there's a nine and three squad.
- 29:04SPEAKER_03: There is absolutely nine squad getting in this year.
- 29:06SPEAKER_03: Absolutely getting in the year.
- 29:07SPEAKER_03: I mean, are are you guys ready for the Big 12?
- 29:09SPEAKER_03: Gets nobody in hot take yet.
- 29:10SPEAKER_03: I'm starting to shoot.
- 29:11SPEAKER_03: I'm starting to chew on that one.
- 29:12SPEAKER_03: That one's not, I don't, I'm not there yet, but I'm thinking about it.
- 29:15SPEAKER_03: It's in my it's in my brain, it's in my brain.
- 29:17SPEAKER_02: It's in my brain.
- 29:18SPEAKER_03: Uh Mark, let's see your let's do your fourth quarter.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: Uh well, my fourth quarter is that Miami is only a three-quarter team.
- 29:26SPEAKER_02: They have not been able to play four quarters yet, and they did not look very good against Wake Forest.
- 29:32SPEAKER_02: Yes, they went out and they won, but Miami should beat Wake Forest by a lot more than they did.
- 29:38SPEAKER_02: And now Mensa had what, 24 completions in a row and 35 over a span of two games?
- 29:44SPEAKER_02: Incredible.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: But they've not been tested and they've not been able to play all four quarters.
- 29:48SPEAKER_02: They've had each game pretty much wrapped up by that point, and I think it's gonna be a rude awakening come Notre Dame, and I think it's early November.
- 29:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, November 7th.
- 29:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, I want to give Jake Dicker a little credit.
- 30:00SPEAKER_03: He's one of the best coaches um that no one really talks about.
- 30:02SPEAKER_03: He did a good job at Wazoo, he's the guy at um at Wake, and he's not dealing with a dearth of talent really at anywhere on this too deep.
- 30:10SPEAKER_03: Uh, so he deserves a little bit of credit, but no, I'm with you.
- 30:13SPEAKER_03: This Mario Crystal Ball, up until his playoff run last year, had the reputation of being a really, frankly, a poor game day coach and not having whether it's the side the the timeout fiasco, good strategy, deciding who to start, like clock management stuff.
- 30:29SPEAKER_03: Like Mario Crystal Ball has not been the best guy in the sidelines.
- 30:33SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, him being a three-quarter coach and sleeping through the fourth quarter of a wake and letting them crawl back in.
- 30:39SPEAKER_03: I can I I could subscribe to that.
- 30:42SPEAKER_04: Miami has six home games remaining and only three away games.
- 30:47SPEAKER_04: They play at Clemson at UNC and then at Notre Dame on the 7th of November.
- 30:54SPEAKER_04: So yeah, it's like they are they are set up to cakewalk, but somebody might sting them.
- 31:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if they come out against a mediocre team and play like as bad, they had an off day and they won, which is good.
- 31:07SPEAKER_02: But if they have another off day against a team that's you know on the up and up, they're gonna struggle.
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: And uh yeah, I I I see them dropping down in a little bit.
- 31:18SPEAKER_03: I mean, you is there what would happen if they lost at Clemson?
- 31:21SPEAKER_03: I mean, who would who would that be better for Dabo or worse for Crystal Ball?
- 31:26SPEAKER_03: Like where like would it help Dabo more or hurt Crystal Ball more?
- 31:31SPEAKER_03: I don't know what would happen for that for that kind of seismic shift.
- 31:35SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, that would be that would be great crazy ball.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: I mean, if you're gonna if we're gonna if we're gonna argue argue like dollars and cents, I mean Clemson has probably the other than Notre Dame, of course, probably the best talent roster on the rest of their schedule.
- 31:49SPEAKER_03: Um, if you're looking at just pound for pound kids with NFL caliber talent.
- 31:54SPEAKER_03: Um, so maybe, but probably not.
- 31:57SPEAKER_03: Clemson's trouble.
- 31:58SPEAKER_04: Here's my here's my uh September take on Miami.
- 32:01SPEAKER_04: They very well may go to Notre Dame and beat him and be undefeated.
- 32:05SPEAKER_04: Guess where they're doing the next week?
- 32:07SPEAKER_04: Hosting ACC champion Duke Blue Devils, who are sneakily a really good team.
- 32:12SPEAKER_04: Maybe Nate Shepard is a stud.
- 32:15SPEAKER_04: Maybe that's the team that stings the hurricanes when they least expect it, coming down off a huge one.
- 32:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, this that's the that's the thing, is like Marcus Marcus Freeman's the same way.
- 32:25SPEAKER_03: He's a he's lost a couple unexplicable, inexplicable boneheaded games either.
- 32:29SPEAKER_03: I there is a world where Miami loses yeah, NIU exactly a couple years ago and almost lost to Cal a while back.
- 32:35SPEAKER_03: There is a chance for both of those teams that we all think should be 11-0 with that one game kind of being the swing of their season, but I wouldn't be surprised.
- 32:43SPEAKER_03: There's a world where they get stung by somebody.
- 32:45SPEAKER_03: So in a world.
- 32:47SPEAKER_03: In a world.
- 32:48SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah.
- 32:48SPEAKER_03: I mean, Chris Paul's gotta be a four-quarter coach.
- 32:50SPEAKER_03: I mean, he's gotta be a four-quarter coach.
- 32:52SPEAKER_03: Um, is it me for the last one?
- 32:54SPEAKER_03: I think it's it.
- 32:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, bring us home.
- 32:55SPEAKER_03: I think it's it.
- 32:55SPEAKER_03: All right, here we go.
- 32:56SPEAKER_03: Game winner.
- 32:58SPEAKER_03: I have to talk about it.
- 33:00SPEAKER_03: I have to talk about it.
- 33:01SPEAKER_03: Oh man, okay.
- 33:01SPEAKER_03: Darien Mensa is the best quarterback in college football.
- 33:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 33:05SPEAKER_03: Uh he's just unbelievable.
- 33:08SPEAKER_03: I I I talked poorly about him.
- 33:10SPEAKER_03: He is number two in on Call Shee right now with the Heisman behind my boy Darien Mensah.
- 33:14SPEAKER_03: Luckily, I'm holding a ticket for that.
- 33:16SPEAKER_03: Uh, Trinidad Chambliss made so many good throws.
- 33:19SPEAKER_04: Wait, so many enemies, Mike.
- 33:21SPEAKER_04: You said Trinidad Chambliss.
- 33:23SPEAKER_04: You said Darien Mensah at first.
- 33:25SPEAKER_04: You meant to say Chambliss.
- 33:26SPEAKER_03: I've talked about it.
- 33:27SPEAKER_03: I've talked about it.
- 33:28SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 33:30SPEAKER_04: I thought we were going LSU here.
- 33:32SPEAKER_04: I thought that's the thing.
- 33:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we are going LC here.
- 33:33SPEAKER_03: We are going LSU.
- 33:34SPEAKER_03: We are going LSU.
- 33:35SPEAKER_03: All right, take us.
- 33:36SPEAKER_03: Take us to the city.
- 33:37SPEAKER_03: We iced the kicker.
- 33:38SPEAKER_03: Give him another try.
- 33:38SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 33:39SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 33:39SPEAKER_03: I blew it.
- 33:40SPEAKER_03: Man, my head is glue up my ass tonight.
- 33:42SPEAKER_03: Trinidad Chambliss is the best coach, best coach in college football.
- 33:45SPEAKER_03: The best quarterback in college football.
- 33:47SPEAKER_03: Jesus.
- 33:49SPEAKER_03: Look, I know we're going to be able to do that.
- 33:50SPEAKER_03: LSU's defense.
- 33:51SPEAKER_03: LSU's defense is very good.
- 33:53SPEAKER_03: We had DBs in incredible spots.
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: We had pass rushers coming down on him, and he was making throws.
- 33:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 34:00SPEAKER_03: Just absolute dots.
- 34:01SPEAKER_03: That there's and then I mean I want we lost that game.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: We can't, we came back.
- 34:05SPEAKER_03: We made it a game.
- 34:06SPEAKER_03: Kudos to Lane and for making some adjustments.
- 34:09SPEAKER_03: They got some pressure on him.
- 34:10SPEAKER_03: They they got him, we sacked him twice, we intercepted him once.
- 34:13SPEAKER_03: Um, we we tied the game in the fourth quarter.
- 34:15SPEAKER_03: We stalled out third and two.
- 34:16SPEAKER_03: We had a chance to take the lead.
- 34:18SPEAKER_03: LSU's gonna be fine.
- 34:20SPEAKER_03: I was panicking at halftime, but I was really impressed with the way we came back.
- 34:23SPEAKER_03: But the story, the story is if for me, it's not about Lane, even though I know all the hubbub was about Lane.
- 34:30SPEAKER_03: The story for me was about Trinidad Chambless, and I just cannot believe the throws he was making.
- 34:35SPEAKER_03: There was a couple throws where he threw the ball across the field, and if that ball is what two feet off, it's pick six.
- 34:42SPEAKER_03: There were balls that just barely over LSU's DB's fingers that were in the right spot.
- 34:47SPEAKER_03: He threw up a jump ball.
- 34:48SPEAKER_03: LSU had two DBs there, and the and the guy still came down with it.
- 34:52SPEAKER_03: Um, I just I can't say enough nice things about him.
- 34:55SPEAKER_03: I think he's the reason we beat him.
- 34:57SPEAKER_03: I kind of said this when we talked about in the preview.
- 34:59SPEAKER_03: I said he's gonna have to have his hair on fire, stand on his head, play out of his mind game.
- 35:05SPEAKER_03: And he did.
- 35:06SPEAKER_03: I mean, LSU rush defense did well.
- 35:08SPEAKER_03: They held him to 68 yards, even sack adjusted.
- 35:11SPEAKER_03: It was like 75 or 80.
- 35:12SPEAKER_03: Qon Lacey, I mean, he did get hurt midway through the third, but he was a non-factor in this game.
- 35:17SPEAKER_03: Trinidad carried this team on his back to the victory, and I'm just so impressed by him.
- 35:23SPEAKER_03: I'm so I'm mad he's gonna play for us.
- 35:25SPEAKER_03: I'm mad that we obviously handed my beloved Tigers an L in September.
- 35:29SPEAKER_03: That sucks, but he's the best coach, he's the best quarterback in college football, and I think he's going to New York, and I think he's got a real shot at being top five, top ten pick.
- 35:39SPEAKER_03: I'm just the it's about Trinidad.
- 35:41SPEAKER_03: Trinidad's the truth.
- 35:42SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 35:43SPEAKER_04: Yep, you said it.
- 35:45SPEAKER_04: I'm glad you uh mustered up the strength.
- 35:49SPEAKER_02: I don't think he's headed out already, but I do think he was good.
- 35:53SPEAKER_03: If he if he plays like he did, I mean he is this I recognize the height's an issue, and that's a real thing that obviously that's gonna that's gonna hold him back.
- 36:00SPEAKER_03: But if you can get if you can, if you if he's the next Drew Brees, would anybody be shocked at this point?
- 36:05SPEAKER_03: Like he is pinpoint accurate with his throws and he's so smart.
- 36:09SPEAKER_03: I couldn't believe there's there was a number of times where I mean Old Miss's offensive line played okay, but there was times where we got pressure on he was beat and he got the ball out so early, so fast.
- 36:20SPEAKER_03: I just think if you're talking, if you're if you're looking for a quarterback that can register what's happening, make the right read, get the ball out, avoid pressure, like he does all that stuff in spades, in spades.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: I can't wait to see what he does this coming week in Gainesville.
- 36:34SPEAKER_03: By the way, have you seen he's a two and a half point dog?
- 36:37SPEAKER_03: You see that he's there, they are they are they are a field goal underdog in Gainesville this week.
- 36:41SPEAKER_03: So crazy.
- 36:42SPEAKER_03: Which I'm I'm telling you right now for the for the parlay, I'm gonna push all you guys to bet on old miss.
- 36:47SPEAKER_03: That's coming next time we record.
- 36:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, I'm already there.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: Little teaser.
- 36:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, good.
- 36:50SPEAKER_03: All right, cool.
- 36:51SPEAKER_03: We'll we'll we'll have to talk Mark into it.
- 36:53SPEAKER_03: But I can't wait to see, go back to my point.
- 36:55SPEAKER_03: I cannot wait to see him in Gainesville.
- 36:58SPEAKER_03: I've been to that, I've been to that stadium.
- 36:59SPEAKER_03: I've I've been at the Florida Gators.
- 37:02SPEAKER_03: It is hostile.
- 37:03SPEAKER_03: Florida's feeling good.
- 37:04SPEAKER_03: They are fired up.
- 37:05SPEAKER_03: They're gonna make it every bit as hard.
- 37:06SPEAKER_03: If he can navigate that, if he walks out of there with a win, I mean, you Darren, you said it earlier with a quarterback surging.
- 37:12SPEAKER_03: I think you're gonna see him separate himself from the pack.
- 37:16SPEAKER_03: Because then you're talking about an impressive Louisville win, an impressive LSU win, and an impressive what's gonna be what a 17th or 16th ranked Florida team, 3-0 in the swamp.
- 37:26SPEAKER_03: I mean, his stock already high is about to go meteoric.
- 37:31SPEAKER_03: Meteoric is my question.
- 37:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and this is what I was trying to say last week when we we were previewing this game.
- 37:37SPEAKER_04: I was trying to say, is he this good?
- 37:40SPEAKER_04: And I think what I what I meant was he's basically matchup proof because he's facing the LSU defense, and the question is, you know, does that matter to him or not?
- 37:51SPEAKER_04: And the answer I believe is it does not.
- 37:54SPEAKER_04: He is matchup proof.
- 37:55SPEAKER_04: There's not a group of 11 defenders that any coach could put together that he would care about.
- 38:00SPEAKER_04: He's still gonna complete so many magical and amazing passes and win a ballgame.
- 38:06SPEAKER_03: I mean, other than I mean, he has he he has had some really tough defenses coming.
- 38:11SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm partial, I mean, I'm partial to my LSU Tigers, uh, but he's gonna play he's gonna face Texas, Georgia, and Oklahoma.
- 38:19SPEAKER_03: I mean, you might be talking about three of the top seven defenses in the country right there.
- 38:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 38:26SPEAKER_03: So he's gonna have, I mean, like, if he navigates all that and he makes if his team goes 10 and 2 and they make the playoffs.
- 38:33SPEAKER_03: I mean, heck, I actually think with the Louis Vuitton LSU win, even at 9-3, they might be the nine and three squad to get in.
- 38:38SPEAKER_03: Um, just because given that they've got a daunting schedule ahead of them, but uh yeah, bullish.
- 38:46SPEAKER_03: All right, anything else on the four quarters?
- 38:48SPEAKER_03: I like that.
- 38:49SPEAKER_03: It's a fun way to kind of debrief the week.
- 38:50SPEAKER_03: I like four quarters.
- 38:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was stressful.
- 38:53SPEAKER_04: I think we brought it home though at the end.
- 38:55SPEAKER_04: Game winner.
- 38:55SPEAKER_04: I think so too.
- 38:56SPEAKER_03: I think so too.
- 38:57SPEAKER_03: All right, good stuff.
- 38:57SPEAKER_03: All right, we're gonna do the quick six, Darren.
- 38:59SPEAKER_03: Uh I'm gonna turn it over to you.
- 39:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:01SPEAKER_04: So a little wrap-up from last week.
- 39:03SPEAKER_04: Thank you, Discorders, for uh clicking on the form and clicking your answers in.
- 39:09SPEAKER_04: Uh, you didn't get last place, Discord fam, so good job.
- 39:12SPEAKER_04: Um there was only one uh fraction of a point scored for the first question.
- 39:19SPEAKER_04: Will UTEP score a touchdown at all at Michigan?
- 39:23SPEAKER_04: We all said, boys, we all said no.
- 39:25SPEAKER_04: Discord split, and so they get a half a point because yes, UTEP scored the first touchdown of the day.
- 39:33SPEAKER_04: So so Discorders scored a half point for that.
- 39:37SPEAKER_04: Uh, which game is a higher total?
- 39:39SPEAKER_04: We all got it.
- 39:39SPEAKER_04: SMU Louisville.
- 39:41SPEAKER_04: That um proved the track meet that we wanted it to be.
- 39:45SPEAKER_04: Will Oregon cover that halftime?
- 39:47SPEAKER_03: Just super quick.
- 39:48SPEAKER_03: Did you guys actually watch the game?
- 39:49SPEAKER_03: Like every time I looked up, it was like, no, they're winning.
- 39:51SPEAKER_03: No, they're winning.
- 39:52SPEAKER_03: Oh, that guy's running for 70 yards, and that guy's running for 80 yards.
- 39:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I remember the seventh lead change, and there were, I think, a few more after that.
- 40:00SPEAKER_04: But it was, yeah, it was a three, four, five, six-point game at all times.
- 40:04SPEAKER_04: Wonderful game.
- 40:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 40:06SPEAKER_04: Uh, just like we hoped.
- 40:07SPEAKER_04: Oregon came back to life and did cover that 21-point halftime spread, of course.
- 40:13SPEAKER_04: Um, they my gosh, it was 84-0 at the end of it.
- 40:21SPEAKER_02: So Yeah, you don't get to play Portland State each week.
- 40:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 40:26SPEAKER_04: Um, so we all got that one.
- 40:28SPEAKER_04: Who scores the first touchdown?
- 40:30SPEAKER_04: Me and Michael Wade said Florida State scores the first touchdown at Alabama.
- 40:35SPEAKER_04: So that's good on us.
- 40:37SPEAKER_04: Good on us.
- 40:37SPEAKER_04: What a call.
- 40:38SPEAKER_04: Will Texas remain number one?
- 40:40SPEAKER_04: Yes, they will.
- 40:41SPEAKER_04: Mark and Darren both said yes.
- 40:44SPEAKER_04: Discord said yes.
- 40:45SPEAKER_04: Well, Mike, you're the only one who said no on that one.
- 40:47SPEAKER_03: So stupid idiots.
- 40:48SPEAKER_03: That's uh shot myself in the foot.
- 40:50SPEAKER_03: Zagoggles on.
- 40:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you zagged and tripped.
- 40:53SPEAKER_04: Sorry, buddy.
- 40:54SPEAKER_04: Uh, who scores more points?
- 40:55SPEAKER_04: Go hokies scoring some huge points.
- 40:58SPEAKER_04: UVA could not score those points this weekend.
- 41:02SPEAKER_04: So with three and a half points, the Discord beats Mr.
- 41:05SPEAKER_04: Wade.
- 41:06SPEAKER_04: Wade, you only scored three.
- 41:07SPEAKER_04: Mark, you scored four.
- 41:08SPEAKER_04: I scored five, though.
- 41:10SPEAKER_04: I love Winamon game that I make up.
- 41:12SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 41:13SPEAKER_03: Well done.
- 41:14SPEAKER_03: Well done.
- 41:15SPEAKER_03: That's the Discord.
- 41:16SPEAKER_04: That is the um the quick six recap.
- 41:18SPEAKER_04: Here we go.
- 41:19SPEAKER_04: Six questions coming up for week four.
- 41:21SPEAKER_04: Are you ready?
- 41:23SPEAKER_04: I I'm I am mad.
- 41:24SPEAKER_04: I'm winning this week.
- 41:25SPEAKER_04: I'm so ready.
- 41:26SPEAKER_04: You gotta get you gotta get your get your head game on, not your put your heart but to the side.
- 41:32SPEAKER_04: Dialed in.
- 41:33SPEAKER_04: All right, we're gonna take this in chronological order.
- 41:35SPEAKER_04: Starting at noon, we've got Texas going to Tennessee, perhaps the game of the week.
- 41:42SPEAKER_04: And so I am interested in these wonderful running backs.
- 41:47SPEAKER_04: We got running backs up against some of the best defenses in the country, in the SEC for sure.
- 41:54SPEAKER_04: We've got um uh D Bishop, is it Desmond Bishop?
- 41:59SPEAKER_04: What's his first name?
- 41:59SPEAKER_04: Deshaun Bishop, Deshaun Bishop.
- 42:00SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 42:01SPEAKER_04: Deshaun.
- 42:02SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 42:02SPEAKER_04: Sorry.
- 42:03SPEAKER_04: Deshaun Bishop, amazing running back for the Tennessee Vols.
- 42:07SPEAKER_04: Uh, he has got 43 carries for 286 yards so far, averaging 6.7 yards per carry.
- 42:15SPEAKER_04: Bishop is awesome.
- 42:16SPEAKER_04: Hollywood Smothers for Texas, he has um averaged 4.8 yards per carry.
- 42:23SPEAKER_04: So the question is who's gonna run for more yards?
- 42:26SPEAKER_04: And this is pure rushing yardage.
- 42:29SPEAKER_04: Um Bishop has bigger stats right now, but I think he's going up against the better defensive front of Texas.
- 42:36SPEAKER_04: So I think this is a coin flip.
- 42:38SPEAKER_04: Yardage between Bishop and Smothers.
- 42:41SPEAKER_04: Who you got?
- 42:43SPEAKER_03: Michael Bishop.
- 42:44SPEAKER_03: Uh, I think well, a couple things.
- 42:45SPEAKER_03: One, I think they I think they're gonna lean on him more than because they also Texas, Texas always also has Ralique Brown, which I think they like a lot.
- 42:52SPEAKER_03: They have a they've they have a backup quarterback, a backup running back that I think they're pretty they're pretty high on.
- 42:56SPEAKER_03: But also, I think they're gonna try and make Arch Manning beat uh Tennessee.
- 43:00SPEAKER_03: What Tennessee wants to do is Tennessee wants to run the ball, control the clock, and try and grind it.
- 43:04SPEAKER_03: I think they're gonna they uh keep in mind they've they've a true freshman quarterback in FaZe and Brandon, who Brandon, who we all think is gonna be really good, and maybe this is gonna be his coming out party, but uh that's a hell of a spot.
- 43:16SPEAKER_03: If they can keep the pressure off him, the better.
- 43:18SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna take Tennessee, Deshaun Bishop, to run for, I mean, not a lot.
- 43:23SPEAKER_03: I think both guys aren't gonna get much.
- 43:24SPEAKER_03: These are both actually pretty garn pretty darn stout run defenses.
- 43:28SPEAKER_03: I got Bishop getting 85 yards and Smothers getting 62.
- 43:37SPEAKER_01: Mark.
- 43:38SPEAKER_02: I'm going Smothers on this one because I think Tennessee will have a little bit more of a running back by committee.
- 43:44SPEAKER_02: Bishop was injured late in the Kennesaw State game.
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: So I think Smothers is healthy, and they're more likely to give him the ball uh just you know, like a bell cow type of thing.
- 43:56SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna go Smothers, and his name's Hollywood, and I love it.
- 44:01SPEAKER_04: Hollywood's so sweet.
- 44:03SPEAKER_04: Um, I'm gonna go with Bishop.
- 44:06SPEAKER_04: Uh, I'm gonna ignore that injury comment.
- 44:09SPEAKER_04: I hope it's not true.
- 44:10SPEAKER_04: He'll he'll come out of it.
- 44:12SPEAKER_04: Modern medicine is amazing.
- 44:14SPEAKER_04: Uh he's just he might be one of these matchup proof guys.
- 44:17SPEAKER_04: He's gonna be a matchup matchup proof running back.
- 44:20SPEAKER_04: He doesn't care, it doesn't matter what defense he's up against, and uh this is the ultimate test this weekend.
- 44:26SPEAKER_04: I think Bishop uh is gonna go off and the ball's gonna roll.
- 44:30SPEAKER_03: It's worth I'm told that uh Josh Heipel confirmed he was removed for precautionary reasons, could play, and is expected to play at at Texas.
- 44:38SPEAKER_03: So Um, yeah, I'm I'm with you, Darren.
- 44:41SPEAKER_03: That comment didn't happen.
- 44:42SPEAKER_03: He's he's full healthy, he's ready to go.
- 44:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, ready to roll.
- 44:44SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 44:45SPEAKER_04: Uh question number two, here we go.
- 44:47SPEAKER_04: Let's go to the what used to be your uncle's Iowa and Michigan three yards in a cloud of dust game.
- 44:55SPEAKER_04: We got a different different expectation here.
- 44:58SPEAKER_04: Um so this game, I just have to get it in my head that these teams are gonna score.
- 45:04SPEAKER_04: The question for you guys is which team is the first to reach 20 points?
- 45:10SPEAKER_04: So, um, you got three choices actually here.
- 45:13SPEAKER_04: Is it gonna be Iowa to get to 20 points first, Michigan, or neither team gets to 20 points?
- 45:21SPEAKER_04: Is this truly gonna revert back to the good old defenses uh slug fest?
- 45:29SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go chalk.
- 45:30SPEAKER_03: Uh I think um Michigan had a Michigan took some real lumps uh early in the season with the Western Michigan game and the Oklahoma game, even though they won.
- 45:42SPEAKER_03: I think I'm gonna go I'm going back to figure out who they were.
- 45:45SPEAKER_03: I don't I'm I'm sorry I I hate to I hate to fade Mark Squad, but I think Texas is gonna win and cover, and I think if you do that, the chances of you getting the 21st are pretty darn high.
- 45:54SPEAKER_03: So I'm I'm pretty chalk here.
- 45:55SPEAKER_03: I think uh Michigan is gonna continue to figure some things out.
- 45:59SPEAKER_03: This is more that this is more than I'm my bet is Kyle Whittingham improving Michigan more than it is.
- 46:04SPEAKER_03: Iowa I was gonna show up and play solid ball.
- 46:07SPEAKER_03: I'm expecting that.
- 46:08SPEAKER_03: They always do.
- 46:08SPEAKER_03: I think Michigan's ceiling is a little bit higher, and I think Whittingham's gonna get that out of them.
- 46:12SPEAKER_03: So I got Michigan getting the 21st.
- 46:15SPEAKER_04: Now I should add for context, the over-under of this game is under 40 points.
- 46:20SPEAKER_04: And so we are at a 37, 38 point over-under.
- 46:25SPEAKER_04: So Vegas.
- 46:27SPEAKER_04: Neither, neither is live.
- 46:28SPEAKER_04: Neither is a live bet.
- 46:30SPEAKER_04: Right, right.
- 46:31SPEAKER_04: Neither is very live.
- 46:33SPEAKER_02: I think that's where I'm gonna go.
- 46:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, Iowa only beat uh Iowa State.
- 46:37SPEAKER_02: Was it 16-13, 17-14?
- 46:40SPEAKER_02: So they didn't even get to 20 against Iowa State's defense.
- 46:43SPEAKER_02: I still think Iowa wins, but Michigan's defense is stout.
- 46:47SPEAKER_02: Iowa's defense is stout.
- 46:48SPEAKER_02: Like it's gonna be a low-scoring game.
- 46:50SPEAKER_02: I don't think either team makes it to 20.
- 46:52SPEAKER_03: Man, we got Did you guys see?
- 46:54SPEAKER_03: Did you guys see the Iowa uh pet band cover band?
- 46:56SPEAKER_03: It was uh Van Halen jump, but they changed the band to punt.
- 47:00SPEAKER_03: Might as well punt, punt, no, I didn't want to love that.
- 47:06SPEAKER_04: If you can't laugh at yourself, don't laugh at anybody.
- 47:09SPEAKER_04: Sorry, go ahead, Darren.
- 47:10SPEAKER_04: So yeah, we got three choices here.
- 47:12SPEAKER_04: We got three bros.
- 47:13SPEAKER_04: Um I might just cover the board here and say that Iowa is gonna come out there with Hank with Hammer and Hank and sling that ball around and figure out some offense, and uh Iowa's gonna shock the world.
- 47:27SPEAKER_04: Uh not really.
- 47:28SPEAKER_04: They're gonna shock the uh northern Midwest, at least.
- 47:31SPEAKER_03: I mean, if if I if Iowa won this game 20 to 13, nobody would be shocked.
- 47:35SPEAKER_03: Nobody's surprised.
- 47:36SPEAKER_03: Nobody would be shocked.
- 47:37SPEAKER_03: Nobody would be shocked.
- 47:38SPEAKER_03: Nobody it's a it's a live bet.
- 47:40SPEAKER_03: I love uh what uh Kamari Multon.
- 47:43SPEAKER_03: Is it Moulton?
- 47:45SPEAKER_03: I love him.
- 47:45SPEAKER_03: He's an awesome back.
- 47:46SPEAKER_03: He's he is a Sundays guy, I'm pretty sure.
- 47:49SPEAKER_03: So um, and they still have that awesome tight end.
- 47:51SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna keep talking about him.
- 47:52SPEAKER_03: Eventually he's gonna get some start racking up stats someday, but he's awesome.
- 47:56SPEAKER_04: So I can see it.
- 47:58SPEAKER_04: All right, question number three: another banger of a matchup.
- 48:01SPEAKER_04: We talked about it.
- 48:02SPEAKER_04: We got oh, the wrong team favored.
- 48:05SPEAKER_04: We got uh Mississippi, uh Ole Miss going to Florida, where Florida is a point or two favorite at home.
- 48:13SPEAKER_04: Minus three.
- 48:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah, oh, three points.
- 48:16SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 48:16SPEAKER_04: Florida minus three at home.
- 48:18SPEAKER_04: Um, so this is a similar question because this is gonna be your classic Barnburner, we think.
- 48:25SPEAKER_04: Uh, which team reaches 30 points faster, which might be in the third quarter.
- 48:31SPEAKER_04: This is not gonna be a neither, I don't think, play.
- 48:35SPEAKER_04: Of course, it depends on what you believe about these defenses.
- 48:38SPEAKER_04: So, same question is uh 30 points, is it gonna be Ole Miss or Florida or neither to reach 30?
- 48:47SPEAKER_03: Over under 16 and a half.
- 48:48SPEAKER_03: The question for Ole Miss, only the only question for Ole Miss for me is can they meet this moment?
- 48:52SPEAKER_03: Because I'm a little worried about them of having a letdown, just emotional letdown.
- 48:57SPEAKER_03: Going to the swamp, you need full focus, full buy-in, your full attention.
- 49:03SPEAKER_03: The gators, especially good, the gators are good.
- 49:05SPEAKER_03: The gators are good, especially on offense.
- 49:06SPEAKER_03: Like they're not gonna give, they're not gonna get let you get away with anything.
- 49:09SPEAKER_03: John Summerall has had this game circled.
- 49:12SPEAKER_03: My point, I'll go back to if Ole Miss is clicking the way I think it is, and Trinidad Chamblis can continue to do the things that Trinidad Chambliss can, and I think he can.
- 49:20SPEAKER_03: I think we're seeing a one-of-one type yeah.
- 49:22SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna ride that because it makes me feel better about my Tigers losing, and I just legitimately believe it.
- 49:27SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go back to my abuser.
- 49:30SPEAKER_03: I'm going back to Trinidad.
- 49:31SPEAKER_03: I think Trinidad's gonna go get the 31st.
- 49:33SPEAKER_04: Stockholm syndrome is real.
- 49:34SPEAKER_03: I didn't even say, uh, yeah, I didn't even say Ole Miss.
- 49:36SPEAKER_03: I said Trinidad.
- 49:37SPEAKER_03: Trinidad's gonna get the 30.
- 49:38SPEAKER_03: I don't know what the rebels are.
- 49:39SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 49:39SPEAKER_03: Trinidad's scoring 30.
- 49:40SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 49:41SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 49:42SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna I gotta follow that lead.
- 49:43SPEAKER_02: Ole Miss is gonna until they prove us wrong, like they've looked incredible.
- 49:47SPEAKER_02: And if you're gonna do that against LSU's defense, I can see them doing against Florida on the road.
- 49:51SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I'm going Ole Miss.
- 49:53SPEAKER_04: Alright, guys, I'm gonna zag here.
- 49:55SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna go Florida.
- 49:57SPEAKER_04: Um, I think they will Vegas agrees with you.
- 50:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they will get to 30.
- 50:02SPEAKER_04: Um, and I'm just gonna try to justify it by saying that Florida's got defense and this fan base, and I have as I've said on this podcast before, fan base is a big player in these Saturday matchups.
- 50:17SPEAKER_04: They just woke up.
- 50:18SPEAKER_04: We you woke up the sleeping giant in the swamp, and the fan base coach is for real.
- 50:25SPEAKER_04: Um, he knows what he's doing, and the players are ready.
- 50:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we got we got the makings for a classic uh letdown spot for old miss who just poured their heart and soul into a victory, and then days later they have to travel to the swamp.
- 50:40SPEAKER_04: That's gross, and Florida's gonna get it done.
- 50:42SPEAKER_03: I mean, there's a lot of things, but there's a lot of things going on your side.
- 50:45SPEAKER_03: One, I'll say, I mean, the line opened at one and a half and it moved to minus three.
- 50:48SPEAKER_03: So the people with the big brains in desert, they agree with you.
- 50:51SPEAKER_03: They are totally on that.
- 50:52SPEAKER_03: I've also I said this a couple weeks ago, Buster Faulkner, the OC who came from Georgia Tech to Florida, might be the outside LSU, but I've said previously, one of the best coordinator hires in the country.
- 51:03SPEAKER_03: I don't think Aaron Philo is that good, Florida's quarterback, but Jaden Ball is awesome.
- 51:08SPEAKER_03: He is an outstanding running back.
- 51:09SPEAKER_03: They also have wide receivers for days.
- 51:11SPEAKER_03: Vernel Brown, um, they've got guys who are just fast.
- 51:14SPEAKER_03: I mean, this is like this is like vintage Florida again, like in the 2000s or 90s.
- 51:18SPEAKER_03: Like they've got speed outside, color me shock.
- 51:21SPEAKER_03: So there's a lot of good things going your way on paper.
- 51:25SPEAKER_03: I'm just not betting against Trinidad.
- 51:27SPEAKER_03: I can't do it.
- 51:28SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 51:29SPEAKER_04: Summerall is um no longer uh an outsider.
- 51:33SPEAKER_04: He is an SEC coach.
- 51:35SPEAKER_04: Uh, he has won SEC stuff here in the last couple days.
- 51:39SPEAKER_04: So he's uh he is up for the task for sure.
- 51:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Goldie.
- 51:43SPEAKER_02: I think Golding did a great job at Ole Miss beating LSU.
- 51:46SPEAKER_02: I think he earned a little street cred with that win.
- 51:48SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 51:48unknown: Yeah.
- 51:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:50SPEAKER_02: I want to give it all a turn out.
- 51:52SPEAKER_03: I don't like that take.
- 51:53SPEAKER_03: I won't get it all turned out.
- 51:54SPEAKER_03: But I'm glad we're together on this one.
- 51:56SPEAKER_03: Well, we're gonna find out about listen to just super quick.
- 51:59SPEAKER_03: Florida versus Ole Miss at Missouri versus South Carolina at Texas versus Georgia versus Oakla versus Kentucky.
- 52:06SPEAKER_03: Their next six games is brutal.
- 52:09SPEAKER_03: So, you know, Florida, we don't learn today.
- 52:12SPEAKER_03: We'll learn about a little bit of Florida here in a minute.
- 52:15SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 52:16SPEAKER_04: Uh okay, moving to number four.
- 52:19SPEAKER_04: Same time slot, midday.
- 52:21SPEAKER_04: Uh, but I'll look at a couple quarterbacks here.
- 52:24SPEAKER_04: So love quarterback rushing stats.
- 52:28SPEAKER_04: Just a just kind of a favorite of mine.
- 52:30SPEAKER_04: Love to see a quarterback uh putting up huge yards, and Gunnar Stockton for Georgia can definitely do it.
- 52:38SPEAKER_04: John Matteer, by the way, at this time, one year ago, right now, John Matteer was the Heisman favorite.
- 52:47SPEAKER_04: And he is a he is a runner more than a passer.
- 52:51SPEAKER_04: I think we've seen that the last couple weeks.
- 52:53SPEAKER_04: And so I want to see Mathir run that ball, uh, get out of some tight spots against a great Georgia defense.
- 53:00SPEAKER_04: I want to see Gunner Stockton run that ball too.
- 53:03SPEAKER_04: Uh so here's the stat.
- 53:06SPEAKER_04: These guys have not scored a rushing touchdown yet this year.
- 53:10SPEAKER_04: They're three games in, and I've got Gunnar Stockton.
- 53:13SPEAKER_04: He has ran for 0, 3, and 97 yards in his three games.
- 53:20SPEAKER_04: One of those runs was a 62-yard run this weekend.
- 53:24SPEAKER_04: And so he's got 100 rushing yards.
- 53:26SPEAKER_04: Uh, John Mateer in three games, he's run for 7 and 45 and 17 yards.
- 53:32SPEAKER_04: So he's got 69 rushing yards this season in three games.
- 53:36SPEAKER_04: Neither of them have a quarterback rushing touchdown.
- 53:40SPEAKER_04: Question is, will Matir or Stockton, either one of them, rush for a touchdown Saturday?
- 53:47SPEAKER_03: So is it is it betting uh is it like last words like one-one or neither?
- 53:50SPEAKER_03: No, either one.
- 53:51SPEAKER_03: Either either one, either one, either one counts or neither.
- 53:55SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 53:55SPEAKER_02: Or push.
- 53:56SPEAKER_02: Wait, we can't beat neither.
- 53:58SPEAKER_04: No, no, it's just no, it's just uh yes, a quarterback rushing touchdown, or there won't be one, which is status quo.
- 54:06SPEAKER_03: Got it.
- 54:06SPEAKER_03: Okay, yep.
- 54:08SPEAKER_03: I I'll I'll I'll jump in.
- 54:09SPEAKER_03: No, they will not.
- 54:10SPEAKER_03: John Matteer is broken.
- 54:12SPEAKER_03: I I recognize that Oklahoma's offense right now is like him get out there and just kind of like street ball it, like see what he has.
- 54:18SPEAKER_03: So maybe he does scramble.
- 54:20SPEAKER_03: I'm not even sure they're gonna get to the red zone.
- 54:21SPEAKER_03: Uh is this game in Athens?
- 54:23SPEAKER_03: Where is this game?
- 54:24SPEAKER_03: Athens, Georgia.
- 54:26SPEAKER_03: It's in Athens, yeah.
- 54:26SPEAKER_03: I don't think Oklahoma's gonna, I'm not sure Oklahoma's gonna cross the 50.
- 54:29SPEAKER_03: Uh, and unless unless unless Mateer breaks his 70-yard run, I just don't see it.
- 54:34SPEAKER_03: And the same time, uh, I think Georgia is gonna be feeding Nate Frazier.
- 54:37SPEAKER_03: Um, they're gonna they're gonna do everything they can to keep Gunner healthy because they just don't need him to be taking a bunch of shots.
- 54:44SPEAKER_03: Uh, so I mean, I I got no rushing quarterback, rushing touchdowns, maybe on a pass interference at the one-yard line QB sneak situation.
- 54:53SPEAKER_03: I think that's but that's what it would take.
- 54:55SPEAKER_03: I don't see a designed rush outside the one or two yard line for either guy.
- 55:00SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna say no, no rush at all for quarterbacks.
- 55:03SPEAKER_03: Mark.
- 55:04SPEAKER_02: But it'll go, yeah.
- 55:05SPEAKER_02: I think there's gonna be a time where they're gonna have to have like a goal-line QB rush, or maybe somebody's gonna get flushed out of the pocket and they're gonna take it.
- 55:13SPEAKER_02: Uh, because I don't know that you get a lot of quarterback scores when you're up 45 to 17 on Arkansas, but when you need it in these crunch times against a better defense, I think that's where we'll see the the quarterbacks use their legs and score.
- 55:26SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna put it down for a yes.
- 55:28SPEAKER_02: And if I had to choose one, it's gonna be gunner.
- 55:31SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 55:32SPEAKER_04: Back that with a gunner kicker.
- 55:35SPEAKER_04: And I am with you, Mark.
- 55:37SPEAKER_04: I say yes, there will be.
- 55:39SPEAKER_04: This is the type of game, Oklahoma, Georgia, where you just feel like at the beginning of the game, Georgia's gonna win by 30, but somehow it's a three-point game in the fourth quarter just because defenses and odd fumbles and turnovers are happening.
- 55:55SPEAKER_04: Um there they just don't care.
- 55:57SPEAKER_04: These guys, these quarterbacks are gonna grit their teeth and just put their feet in the ground and give absolutely 100% of their you sacrifice the body and just get it done.
- 56:09SPEAKER_04: And so I want to see that rushing touchdown.
- 56:11SPEAKER_04: I say yes, there will be one.
- 56:13SPEAKER_03: Darren, are you talking about uh are you talking about taking an Oklahoma plus 13 and a half?
- 56:17SPEAKER_03: Is that what I'm hearing you say in your in your voice?
- 56:18SPEAKER_03: Is that was that was that was that what I'm what I think I'm hearing?
- 56:21SPEAKER_04: You know, that's a lot of it's a lot of points for the middle of the SEC team.
- 56:25SPEAKER_04: I mean they're not the bottom of the SEC, but no, they aren't they're a 13 and a half type of team.
- 56:32SPEAKER_03: If you want if you want to tell me Oklahoma had the best defense in college football, I wouldn't I wouldn't disagree with you.
- 56:36SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 56:37SPEAKER_03: I mean, they so that's that's they're they're elite on one side of the ball, it's the other side so much.
- 56:42SPEAKER_04: But there is something in Mathir that has not woken up yet.
- 56:45SPEAKER_04: Maybe it's in his shoulder or in his brain or something, but he is a good quarterback, and we haven't seen it this year.
- 56:53SPEAKER_04: Um, maybe this is the type of challenge he needs.
- 56:55SPEAKER_04: It's the type of guy he is.
- 56:58SPEAKER_03: They're talking about firing this the coordinator Ben Arbuckle, who I actually thought was pretty good.
- 57:02SPEAKER_03: He came with him from Washington State, I think is where they both came from.
- 57:04SPEAKER_03: It's a package deal.
- 57:06SPEAKER_03: Um, there's so one, they could dismiss him, and they maybe that would shake things up.
- 57:11SPEAKER_03: Maybe maybe they're maybe the just a change of just a change for the sake of change.
- 57:15SPEAKER_03: Maybe that maybe that could be the thing.
- 57:16SPEAKER_03: Um, but I also I mean I'll my point from trying to say is I also don't understand what happened to Mathir.
- 57:22SPEAKER_03: I don't understand the drop-off.
- 57:23SPEAKER_03: I don't understand why he's gotten so bad so fast.
- 57:25SPEAKER_03: And so maybe there's something else.
- 57:29SPEAKER_03: I mean, when he was good, yeah.
- 57:31SPEAKER_03: He I mean before he got hurt as Darren said he was here before he got hurt, he was pretty good.
- 57:35SPEAKER_03: And it and it and at Washington State he was pretty good.
- 57:38SPEAKER_03: So he has played better football.
- 57:40SPEAKER_03: It's not clear what's happening.
- 57:41SPEAKER_03: So a change for the sake of change, a wake-up call, a pep talk from Brian Bosworth, Oklahoma Great.
- 57:49SPEAKER_03: I don't know what it's gonna take, but something something in there might stir the stir the Holy Spirit, if you will.
- 57:55SPEAKER_04: We'll see.
- 57:55SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 57:56SPEAKER_04: Jeez.
- 57:57SPEAKER_04: All right, good.
- 57:57SPEAKER_04: Let's get us a good game in Georgia.
- 57:59SPEAKER_04: Uh let's go to number five.
- 58:02SPEAKER_04: Two questions left.
- 58:03SPEAKER_04: Um, this question is about uh the number one wide receiver in the country for uh in yardage.
- 58:14SPEAKER_04: Michael, do you know who the number one wide receiver is in yardage?
- 58:18SPEAKER_04: In yardage?
- 58:19SPEAKER_04: In the country?
- 58:20SPEAKER_04: Throw out a name and you might be real close.
- 58:23SPEAKER_04: What team is he on?
- 58:24SPEAKER_04: Tell me the team.
- 58:24SPEAKER_02: Uh-uh.
- 58:25SPEAKER_02: He's a beaver.
- 58:28SPEAKER_04: He's an Oregon Oregon State beaver?
- 58:31SPEAKER_04: You know, our brain, our brain goes to Malachi Tony, right?
- 58:34SPEAKER_04: It yeah, it so Malachi's number two.
- 58:37SPEAKER_04: That's what this question's about.
- 58:38SPEAKER_04: The number one wide receiver is an Oregon State Beaver.
- 58:42SPEAKER_04: Um, and his name is uh Jesse LeGree.
- 58:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Jesse.
- 58:47SPEAKER_04: Jesse Legree.
- 58:49SPEAKER_04: Jesse has put up uh 136 yards.
- 58:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he put up 240 yards, a bigger game than Malachi's big game, and that was his loss to Texas Tech when the Beavers went and lost at Texas Tech.
- 59:03SPEAKER_04: Uh 240, and then he put up 100 again.
- 59:05SPEAKER_04: And so we got this kid named Jesse Legree for the Oregon State Beavers, who are, by the way, not a bad team.
- 59:11SPEAKER_04: They're playing good ball.
- 59:13SPEAKER_04: Um, and he's got he's got 476 yards, happens to be 32 yards more than Malachi Tony.
- 59:21SPEAKER_04: So the question is after this weekend, when Oregon State hosts Montana, one of the best FCS schools there is.
- 59:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think they're ranked number one, number two in FCS, yeah.
- 59:33SPEAKER_02: So they played Montana last week.
- 59:36SPEAKER_02: This weekend they have um uh UTEP.
- 59:40SPEAKER_02: UTEP.
- 59:41SPEAKER_04: Oh, is that it?
- 59:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, ahead.
- 59:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, who's actually probably Montana.
- 59:44SPEAKER_02: I watched it.
- 59:44SPEAKER_03: Who's actually probably worse?
- 59:46SPEAKER_03: Who's probably worse than Montana, to be clear?
- 59:48SPEAKER_03: Excuse me.
- 59:49SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 59:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they're like 135 out of 138.
- 59:51SPEAKER_02: Although they put up some points against Michigan.
- 59:53SPEAKER_02: Sorry, Darren.
- 59:54SPEAKER_04: Thank you so much.
- 59:55SPEAKER_04: No, I needed that.
- 59:56SPEAKER_04: Um so they're playing, you said they're playing UTEP, right?
- 59:59SPEAKER_04: They're playing at UTEP this weekend.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_04: Um, and Miami is going to host Central Michigan.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_04: So they're playing at home.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_04: I think that Miami has a has an agenda of putting Minsa and Tony in the Heisman spotlight.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_04: They're gonna keep throwing those bombs.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_04: They want to get him 200 yards.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_04: Uh, but of course, Legree is gonna do his thing as well at UTEP.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_04: Is this the week that Malachi Tony overtakes Legree and has the most yardage in FBS?
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_04: Will he make up 32 yards that he's behind Legree this week?
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_04: Yes or no?
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_03: So I'm doing I've I've taken this time to do a Legree uh deep dive.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_03: Um not something, not something I thought I was gonna do.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_03: Um he I I I think Legree gets a lot of targets for that team and 32 yards.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_03: Malachi Tony.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna I'm gonna give it to my new favorite Oregon State Beaver, uh, Legree.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_03: He's gonna hold him off.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_03: He's gonna he's going to maintain, he's gonna hold him off.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_03: Uh also shout out KJ Duff, number three, the poor Rutgers receiver, who's absolutely balling on the worst team in the P4, I think, Rutgers football.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_03: Uh, yeah, give me Jesse Legree.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_03: I love that guy.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_03: Just met him five minutes ago.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_03: I'm psyched for him.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_02: I'll take I'll take LeGree.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_02: I go with Legree for the sheer fact that I don't think Tony plays in the second half because they'll be up on Central Michigan so far, where I do think that um Oregon State will at least have to play a full game.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_02: And that's the only reason why I think uh Legree's gonna end up uh keeping his lead going into the next week.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_04: And you guys are go both going Legree.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_04: I thought I was gonna get to Zag on this.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_04: I think I gotta go with him too.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_04: Um Tony's gonna go for 200 yards, and Legree's gonna go for 190 and keep the lead.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_04: He's gotta make up 32, and it's not gonna happen.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_04: Oregon State is is kind of throwing the rock around.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_04: They're they're a good team, they're gonna put up some points.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_02: So they went and played Houston, who we saw has a poorest defense.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_02: Then they played Texas Tech, who we know has a poorest defense, and they played Montana, bless their heart, but they're an FCS school.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_02: So like there's not been a lot of competition there for Oregon State yet.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean not the highest level, but this is the best Oregon State squad we've seen since Lord knows who.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_04: They scored points.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_04: They scored 20 points of Houston, 24 points of Texas Tech.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_04: Sorry, this was not supposed to be an Oregon State question, but when you got a baller named Legree, um watch out, people for the beat.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_03: What conferences?
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_03: So is Oregon State is Oregon State is in the Pac-12?
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_03: And they when do they when do they play when do they play Boise?
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_03: That's what I wanted.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_03: I want I want to see LeGree.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_03: Ooh, second to last game of the season.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_03: I want to see if I want to see Legree on primetime TV.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_03: Maybe, maybe that's the fight for the for the Pac-12.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_03: That'd be fun.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_04: Well, Texas, they got Texas State the week before that.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_04: Look at us getting into the Pac-12.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_04: Texas State, Boise.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_04: Um, these are these are high-flying teams.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_04: So we're gonna see the historic Pac-12 names.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_03: It was it's like we never left.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_04: I'm so glad to be back in my Pac-12 fandom.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_04: The Pacific Coast rejoices uh yes, the Texas State.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_04: So the okay, so I think we're we're straight on that.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_04: It's it's gonna be Legree.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_04: You can't you can't bet against Legree.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_04: We came into this no one that's but you could you could say we're in Lagrement.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_03: I would say that.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_02: Uh, if you disagree with us, go to the Discord, join the server, and subscribe, never block us out.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_02: Oh, that was that was all right.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_04: Question number six.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_04: Here we go.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_04: This is a banger.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_04: Um here's the second edition of The Wrong Team is favored.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_04: Oregon uh is the favorite going into USC at 7.30 p.m.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_04: And so we got Jaden Mayava.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_04: Let's see some stats on these guys.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_04: Um Oregon's a three-point favorite, I believe.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_04: Jaden Mayava.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_04: These guys are really close in their stats.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_04: Maiava's has got three 293 yards per game.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_04: Uh Dante Moore, 283 yards per game.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_04: They both have three touchdowns per game.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_04: USC has played four games to Oregon's three.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_04: So per game they're pretty much spot on.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_04: Um now the defenses are not really good.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_04: They're not terrible, but the secondaries have been given up a lot of a lot of yardage as well.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_04: USC defense has given up 174 yards a game.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_04: Oregon's defense has gotten given up 199.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_04: These are passing yards per game.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_04: And so the question is, which QB has more passing yards in this game?
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_04: It's kind of even across the board as the far as the stat book goes.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_04: We are playing in Southern Cal.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_04: Um, Oregon is the three-point favorite right now, but I don't think that's the right favored team.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_04: But the question remains which QB has more yardage passing?
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_03: This question is so hard because I think we haven't seen the best version of either defenses.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_03: I love Gary Patterson.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_03: Gary Patterson's a former TCU Hall of Fame coach.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_03: He's now running running the defense for USC.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_03: And USC is loaded with guys with stars in his name.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_03: A lot, a lot of talent.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_03: Uh, Oregon, as we all know, should have three or four first rounders on their defense.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_03: They have not played it up until the Portland State game.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_03: Sorry, Portland State, tough way to uh at least at least got paid.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_03: I think one of these defenses, I'll actually get back.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_03: I think both these defenses are gonna be much better by the time the season over.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_03: And the question is which one is gonna wake up sooner.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_03: I think Maeva and Moore are both gonna do well.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_03: I'll go with the home team.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_03: Give me the Maeva to get more yards in the home crowd, just a less hostile place.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_03: But I think the my what I really think will be the difference in this game is which defense starts to get to their potential quicker.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_03: Because we both thought Oregon was gonna be there in August, and they weren't.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_03: And USC, given their talent and Patterson, should be as well, and they aren't either.
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna go, yeah, give me, give me my Ava, give me the home crowd.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_03: Not by much though.
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_02: Everything makes me want to say my Ava.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_02: I liked what I've seen out of USC's defense.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_02: I I like um what's Mosley, if he's healthy, they've got a that.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_02: True freshman tight end Waffle that's really good.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_02: Uh but I'm gonna go Dante more because I feel like he's gonna step it up and he just he was lit a fire, he got his groove back against Portland State, and he's gonna come out in USC and just put up more yards.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_02: I'm not saying they're gonna win.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_02: But maybe they fall behind and all they have to do is throw.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_02: So uh I'm gonna go I'm gonna go Dante.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and the preseason uh talk about Oregon being the number one, number two team in the country, uh their defense was the talk.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_04: And their secondary unit in particular was uh at the time in August the third ranked secondary uh behind behind who Notre Dame for sure was number one and Miami Heritage.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_03: Georgia.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, but right up there with the absolute elite, and so these boys wearing green for the ducks are elite as a secondary.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_04: I do love Jaden Mayava.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_04: Did you know how big he is?
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_04: He's like 6'4, 230 or something.
- 1:07:38SPEAKER_04: Like he's a hoss dog.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_04: Good goody.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, it's awesome.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_04: Um, but he's a he's a big dude.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_04: I love everything I've seen out of him.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_04: I think that the Oregon defense is finally gonna wake up.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_04: Like they had their wake-up call the last couple weeks, and I think they've come around.
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_04: I think Coach Lanning has done the right things over the last two weeks, and he's gonna get his uh get his coordinators who are brand new, and he's like, you know, whipping these youngins into shape.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_04: He's gonna he's gonna get them in get them ready, and the the big boys are gonna are gonna eat for the Oregon Ducks in that secondary.
- 1:08:17SPEAKER_04: They're gonna pick off Maeva and uh and get it done and show us who they really are.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_03: Oregon's got two first rounders, at least in their secondary, and Brandon Finney Jr.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_03: and Koy Perrinch.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_03: Like I they like at some point they're gonna you gotta think they're gonna start playing like it.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_03: So, you know, if you want to tell me that they I mean if you want to tell me they wake up this week with under the big lights, on the road, in the Coliseum, USC, biggest game of their season, and probably a game they really can't afford to lose, they really cannot afford to lose with two losses this early.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_03: I don't think a nine and three Oregon's gonna get in.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, if you could if you told me that Oregon's defense finally fulfilled their form this week, I wouldn't be surprised at all.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_03: So you could talk into either quarterback.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_04: I love Evan Stewart, I love DeCorian Moore even more.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_04: Uh these wide receivers are are so for real.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_04: So um give me Dante Moore here.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_04: McClellan, Jeremiah McClellan, right?
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_04: Like, don't forget about this guy.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_04: We got three very real wide receivers, so give me Dante.
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_04: That's it for the quick six, folks.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_04: I got um I got Wade going Maava, but me and Mark are are holding steady on Dante.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_04: Discord when the link posts, just click, click, click, and and get in there.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_03: Please uh uh like and subscribe.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_03: Uh we're getting we're up to like uh 85 subscribers on YouTube, which is awesome.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_03: More and more traction.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_03: Thank you guys so much for your support.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_03: Much appreciated means so much to the three of us.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_03: We are so excited about that.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_03: Um, we will be back uh with uh a week four preview, which all of a sudden is turning out to be a monster game, a monster week with some great action.

- 1:10:28SPEAKER_02: How many xylophones do you think they got in this band?
- 1:10:31SPEAKER_02: There'll be at least nine.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_02: If you don't have nine xylophones, you are not a true margin fan.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, oh, what's that?
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_02: This is the mic button.
