- 2:51Speaker 1: Let's bring in my co host Marshall Marshall Man. Another
- 2:56Speaker 1: week of college football and, like I said at the end,
- 3:00Speaker 1: show just another proof. We don't need proof of this
- 3:04Speaker 1: to be honest with you, but I like to keep
- 3:06Speaker 1: repeating it that, you know, the regular season, that college
- 3:09Speaker 1: football is the best team sports there is. It just
- 3:12Speaker 1: it is what it is, that's just how it goes.
- 3:15Speaker 1: And last week proved it again.
- 3:16Speaker 2: My friend, Okay, am I allowed to start with the rant?
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yeah, usually you do. I've been kind of missing them.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Actually, Okay, so this one actually had the blood pressure boiling.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I even explained to the fiance because this cost me
- 3:30Speaker 2: a bet I was living. Okay, now I would say realistic, Chris,
- 3:34Speaker 2: I would say combined, you and I probably watched football
- 3:38Speaker 2: college football for over forty plus years. Okay, we're we're
- 3:41Speaker 2: not still young STALLI is yet, you know, but anyways,
- 3:44Speaker 2: we watched well for a long time. I've never seen
- 3:46Speaker 2: this fan called ever. So I had a first half
- 3:50Speaker 2: bet with Houston minus three and a half is Colorado. Okay,
- 3:53Speaker 2: Houston has the ball, they're up three, they're looking to drive.
- 3:56Speaker 2: They have the ball like the twenty three yard line.
- 3:58Speaker 2: It's like third and fifteen. Houston quarterback drops back to pass.
- 4:03Speaker 2: His helmet gets pulled, which was called a face mask.
- 4:07Speaker 2: As his helmet's being pulled and twisted to the left
- 4:10Speaker 2: side of his head, he throws the ball which was
- 4:13Speaker 2: affected by the face mask. Throws the ball. The ball
- 4:17Speaker 2: goes nowhere near a receiver. Okay, two flags on the play.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Now the refs called the face mask. They also called
- 4:25Speaker 2: intentional grounding, which waved away the it was redo the
- 4:31Speaker 2: go down. They didn't. They only got a field goal.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Carl go down to score and they actually I lost
- 4:37Speaker 2: my first half.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Bet.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Have you ever seen a face mask call where the
- 4:41Speaker 2: head gets pulled before he passed the ball or during
- 4:45Speaker 2: the past and then you float throw a grounding flight
- 4:47Speaker 2: on the quarterback.
- 4:49Speaker 1: So as he was getting his helmet pulled illegally, he
- 4:54Speaker 1: was throwing the ball to nobody or was he gonna
- 4:59Speaker 1: throw to somebody, but the helmet grab fucked up his throat.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I would venture to say that as his arm was
- 5:06Speaker 2: in progress his he heard and.
- 5:08Speaker 3: That like it's like it's like yeah, okay, and he
- 5:14Speaker 3: didn't see that even the announcers were like, dude, normally
- 5:17Speaker 3: the refs give the guy betted it out because like
- 5:19Speaker 3: you know.
- 5:20Speaker 2: You're ready to throw and your head turns that ball
- 5:22Speaker 2: is not gonna go where.
- 5:24Speaker 1: So, of course not.
- 5:25Speaker 2: I've just I've never, I've never in my life because
- 5:28Speaker 2: obviously the throw was dictated, so I just had to
- 5:31Speaker 2: get off my chest. I didn't think it was fair
- 5:33Speaker 2: to lose a bet that way. I just thought that
- 5:36Speaker 2: I don't I don't see how you can call it both.
- 5:37Speaker 1: It just seems, oh, that doesn't line up. Yeah, that
- 5:40Speaker 1: doesn't line up at all. And I'll tell you what
- 5:43Speaker 1: it feels like, the NFL type of vibe right there. Okay,
- 5:48Speaker 1: And this is a little scary because, just to add
- 5:50Speaker 1: on to your point, the first couple of weeks, I
- 5:53Speaker 1: have seen some catches that are normally catches in college football,
- 5:58Speaker 1: all of a sudden they're not. They're doing that we
- 6:01Speaker 1: don't know what a fucking catches. Yes, yep, you've seen that.
- 6:06Speaker 1: We fucking go. We better take Chris Carter and Jerry
- 6:09Speaker 1: Rice and all these great legends. We got to take
- 6:12Speaker 1: off like a hundred catches then, because they're not catches
- 6:15Speaker 1: anymore like it's just God, I hope that doesn't fucking happen, dude.
- 6:20Speaker 2: All Right, So when you're talking about.
- 6:22Speaker 1: The end zone, like once you get once you have
- 6:26Speaker 1: the ball and you've taken football, you've done a football move,
- 6:30Speaker 1: I'm saying football move. That's an NFL turn and.
- 6:33Speaker 2: That get the open interpretation as well.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Exactly. So you're running, you're taking steps, and you cross
- 6:39Speaker 1: the goal line. It's done. It's over. There's nothing, nothing
- 6:45Speaker 1: more to know about. So if you catch the ball
- 6:48Speaker 1: and you you you have it in your grasp and
- 6:52Speaker 1: you cross the line, it doesn't matter what the fuck happens.
- 6:57Speaker 1: It doesn't true. I don't like when did it matter?
- 7:01Speaker 1: But a running back they can fundle the goddamn ball
- 7:05Speaker 1: in the end zone is no, no, no where is passed.
- 7:07Speaker 1: It's already passed. Oh okay, it's fucking crazy anyway, So
- 7:12Speaker 1: you got me going, now, you know you got me going.
- 7:17Speaker 1: But yeah, I noticed that in a couple of games
- 7:19Speaker 1: this year so far. That's like, that's a fucking catch.
- 7:24Speaker 1: That's a touchdown. Dude. Yeah, but anyway, I don't know. Hey,
- 7:29Speaker 1: when I'm in this screen, can you still see me? Yeah? Okay, cool,
- 7:34Speaker 1: all right, let's go to Tennessee in Georgia. Tennessee up
- 7:38Speaker 1: twenty one to seven early and often. I wasn't ready
- 7:43Speaker 1: for all this joy. Joey Aguilarra has this thing pumping.
- 7:48Speaker 1: But then Gunner Stockings like, hang on, dude, we're not
- 7:51Speaker 1: just gonna pass, uh, you know, to the side, because
- 7:55Speaker 1: a lot of people have been giving them shit about
- 7:57Speaker 1: their offenses. They just they just go sideways. They don't
- 8:00Speaker 1: throw it down the field. Now, don't get me wrong,
- 8:02Speaker 1: some of those touchdowns. If they played again, I don't
- 8:06Speaker 1: know if they'd be able to catch that many deep
- 8:08Speaker 1: balls because my guess is the cornerback for Georgia wouldn't
- 8:11Speaker 1: be falling down as many times. But also, like there
- 8:16Speaker 1: was that one where they the Tennessee guy used the
- 8:21Speaker 1: you know, like he literally pushed down on the shoulder
- 8:23Speaker 1: pad to grab one of them. But either way, great
- 8:27Speaker 1: game went to overtime. Almost both of them almost put
- 8:32Speaker 1: up five hundred twll yards. It just was all over
- 8:36Speaker 1: the place Tennessee. Obviously some tough luck, I mean, time
- 8:43Speaker 1: of possession definitely was in Georgia's hands. But and they
- 8:47Speaker 1: had too many penalties ten penalties to five, five to
- 8:52Speaker 1: twelve on you know, third down or whatever. But in
- 8:56Speaker 1: two for two for Georgia on fourth down, obviously they
- 9:00Speaker 1: you know, the college kicker, you know the college kicker
- 9:03Speaker 1: comes into play. But uh, just a phenomenal game, dude.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I did not see that type of high scoring outcome, dude.
- 9:14Speaker 1: And I'm higher now on Tennessee than I was, much
- 9:17Speaker 1: higher than I was.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Yeah. One of my best friends, she was from there.
- 9:21Speaker 2: She loves that team, and in the last two and
- 9:23Speaker 2: three years I've watched with her a Tennessee beat Bama.
- 9:27Speaker 2: But I feel she equally hates Georgia and Bama, and
- 9:31Speaker 2: George is a little bit more because George's had their
- 9:33Speaker 2: ass like the past decade, I.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Think up until sixteen, since Dobbs on the on the
- 9:38Speaker 1: on the deep ball.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but before this game a few days ago, it
- 9:43Speaker 2: was like three hundred and sixty to eighty four points,
- 9:45Speaker 2: so they'd been whooping Tennessee's ass. So it definitely was
- 9:49Speaker 2: a really fun game. Obviously, if you're Tennessee, you can't
- 9:52Speaker 2: come up with a better start like that stadium is balancing,
- 9:56Speaker 2: it's going crazy, and then Georgia punched back, and then
- 10:00Speaker 2: the second half, every time they scored we played ten.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I was the DJ to play Rocky Top. I mean
- 10:05Speaker 2: we were having fun. There was definitely whiskey consumed, felt
- 10:09Speaker 2: felt pretty good. But a couple of just oh, I
- 10:13Speaker 2: could talk about this game for twenty minutes, so I'm
- 10:15Speaker 2: not gonna do that, but a couple of things that
- 10:16Speaker 2: jump out, aside from my tendency love for my sister.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Not not many teams Chris are able to come back
- 10:24Speaker 2: and win that game, like and I'm not a curby guy,
- 10:27Speaker 2: but fucking a dude, that is that is a test.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Then I would say maybe only two or three teams
- 10:32Speaker 2: in college Wall win that fucking game. You got punched
- 10:35Speaker 2: in the mouth, and I would say it's not dead
- 10:37Speaker 2: the value, but probably a top a top fifteen home field,
- 10:41Speaker 2: Avang Stadium roughly, you know it's it's one of the
- 10:43Speaker 2: bigger ones.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 2: So A you didn't quit in a game where a
- 10:49Speaker 2: lot of times, if you're down twenty one to seven,
- 10:51Speaker 2: with the way that place is going, I could see
- 10:52Speaker 2: you losing and it would be nothing to be ashamed of.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Part two. It's fourth and six, you're down seven. You
- 10:59Speaker 2: gotta this game up, and you have the fucking stones
- 11:03Speaker 2: to throw like a thirty yard rope touchdown pass. Like
- 11:07Speaker 2: to me that that that's still that's the play that
- 11:09Speaker 2: haunts me in my head. Of Like, dude, not many
- 11:12Speaker 2: quarterbacks have the boss to make that play or to
- 11:15Speaker 2: assume to try it and then to just land a
- 11:19Speaker 2: perfect like I would say ninety percent of college quarterbacks
- 11:22Speaker 2: do a crossing route something reliable. That dude said, fucking man,
- 11:25Speaker 2: we're going for the like we're tying this thing up
- 11:28Speaker 2: and then just drops a dime Like that's just that's
- 11:32Speaker 2: not a regular play called college quarterbacks make. And this
- 11:35Speaker 2: kid is the one of the elite quarterbacks, Like you
- 11:37Speaker 2: know you're not. He's not the Heisman favorite kind of
- 11:40Speaker 2: like talk, But dude, I the a maount of respect
- 11:42Speaker 2: I have for making that play. Was that's special? That
- 11:46Speaker 2: so again not a Curby guy, but you got to
- 11:48Speaker 2: give credit where credit is due. They got punched in
- 11:51Speaker 2: the mouth a couple of times, had a little bit
- 11:53Speaker 2: of luck from a kick or that missed it. But
- 11:55Speaker 2: that was a really impressive road win on top of
- 11:58Speaker 2: what you said for once, Georgia. Sure they get tests.
- 12:01Speaker 2: You surely hat with Georgia, but obviously that's a tough
- 12:03Speaker 2: kill to swallow for a loss.
- 12:06Speaker 1: It really is it really is, man, that that that's rough.
- 12:10Speaker 1: You know, they already like had their plans to go
- 12:13Speaker 1: to the river, and like, you know, I think people
- 12:16Speaker 1: will probably you know, leaving early so they'd get a
- 12:18Speaker 1: good spot at the river, you know what I mean?
- 12:20Speaker 1: Like that, Uh that was rough, dude. But you know
- 12:25Speaker 1: that both QB is untested coming in, but gunner to
- 12:30Speaker 1: put up those kind of numbers and that type of game,
- 12:32Speaker 1: Like I said, I just didn't see any of this happening.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Uh yeah, where both would have that many points. So
- 12:39Speaker 1: but you know, and nowadays, you don't know what kind
- 12:42Speaker 1: of game it's gonna be and you gotta be ready
- 12:43Speaker 1: for it all. And so that's got to give Georgia
- 12:47Speaker 1: in that offense a lot of confidence because last year,
- 12:50Speaker 1: as we know, man, their offense sucked. Dude. They're lining,
- 12:53Speaker 1: they couldn't get a running game going. Their receivers are
- 12:57Speaker 1: dropping balls left and right, and he you know, just
- 13:00Speaker 1: because he's having success at Miami. There's a few games
- 13:03Speaker 1: you could look at Beck and be like, ah, dude,
- 13:05Speaker 1: you're forcing it. What are you doing? You know? So
- 13:07Speaker 1: it was just a bad. The funny thing is Marshall.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It was bad, right, but they still won the SEC
- 13:14Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So yeah, I'm I'm all
- 13:20Speaker 1: of a sudden high on both those teams. Like I said, Tennessee,
- 13:23Speaker 1: Now I look at him and go, okay, it looks
- 13:25Speaker 1: like they got an offense back. Now, all right, let's
- 13:27Speaker 1: roll because their defense is gonna be good enough. Now
- 13:29Speaker 1: you don't walk away from that, you know, side going
- 13:32Speaker 1: or that game going. Man, those defenses were nasty because
- 13:36Speaker 1: of just the style of the game and peer lang
- 13:39Speaker 1: into the style of the game. Another game I did
- 13:42Speaker 1: not think would end up forty one forty You had
- 13:46Speaker 1: notre Dame up fourteen to seven A and m responds,
- 13:49Speaker 1: they go twenty one to ten in the second Reid.
- 13:54Speaker 1: When you look at like his completion number seventeen to
- 13:57Speaker 1: thirty seven, it's like, oh he had a rough day.
- 13:59Speaker 1: No wait, there's for three hundred and sixty yards. Actually,
- 14:02Speaker 1: you know, you're like, huh, what happened? And they they
- 14:05Speaker 1: both defense didn't allow a lot of run per se,
- 14:09Speaker 1: considering both you know, squads loved to run. Car had
- 14:15Speaker 1: a pretty good game. Obviously, they both the young quarterbacks
- 14:18Speaker 1: through picker and whatnot. But you know, we talk. We're
- 14:21Speaker 1: gonna talk positive about kickers here in just a second, okay, people,
- 14:25Speaker 1: but the thing about college, you just don't know about college.
- 14:29Speaker 1: It's not always negative. Like we're gonna get some positives
- 14:33Speaker 1: Georgia Tech, we're talking to you. But and it wasn't
- 14:36Speaker 1: even the kicker. It was the holder, the perfect the
- 14:38Speaker 1: snap was right there, just fucked it up. And then
- 14:41Speaker 1: on what was a fourth down play that they scored
- 14:44Speaker 1: that touchdown to go ahead. Crazy game though, huge win
- 14:47Speaker 1: for Elco and then Notre Dame. You know, that's back
- 14:52Speaker 1: to back. This one's more respectable because it's not Northern Illinois,
- 14:56Speaker 1: but back to back home openers. He's lost. Now kind
- 14:59Speaker 1: of random. You know, people are like, well if they
- 15:04Speaker 1: if they string off ten, they'll still be in Okay,
- 15:07Speaker 1: they better hope USC is like a one last team
- 15:09Speaker 1: by the time they get to them.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Then you know, yeah, I mean, obviously the lost to Miami,
- 15:17Speaker 2: I really thought they were not playing. Miami got a
- 15:19Speaker 2: conservative kind of let them back in it. But you know,
- 15:21Speaker 2: nonetheless that that was a close, good played loss on
- 15:24Speaker 2: the road.
- 15:25Speaker 1: And they got their ship together during the game, you know.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, And now Carr had another a decent game. Again,
- 15:31Speaker 2: but man, you have two such like very talents rain Backs.
- 15:34Speaker 2: It's hard to imagine that team just like they're a
- 15:40Speaker 2: good team. But you're on too, so you're you aren't
- 15:43Speaker 2: a loty more slip ups Like you said there, their
- 15:48Speaker 2: schedule for the remainder of the year is pretty light.
- 15:52Speaker 2: But I'm with you, I uh, just again, I would
- 15:58Speaker 2: I could have seen maybe I would have been more
- 16:01Speaker 2: surprised with are sorry more surprised with this score being
- 16:05Speaker 2: higher compared to George Tennessee because sometimes satsty gets going
- 16:08Speaker 2: a little crazy shirt, But yeah, this one be forty
- 16:10Speaker 2: one forty, especially because A and M and Notre Dame
- 16:14Speaker 2: both Notre Dame's kind of going for a running game
- 16:16Speaker 2: and A and M's normally had a pretty good defense.
- 16:18Speaker 2: So this the fact this one kind of became a shootout.
- 16:20Speaker 2: What was impressive? Again? Tab twenty in completions and still
- 16:25Speaker 2: throw for three sixty Obviously with the passes the completer
- 16:29Speaker 2: were pretty much pretty far down in the field. Uh,
- 16:32Speaker 2: I've seen Notre Dame secondary did not have the best
- 16:34Speaker 2: of games. I was given your guy Carson Beck because
- 16:39Speaker 2: your hurricane fimeas year some credit because I thought that
- 16:42Speaker 2: he took care of the ball and obviously redid too,
- 16:45Speaker 2: but maybe this Notre Dame Fighter Irish secondary has some holes.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Not to discrediting for Miami or A and M, but
- 16:51Speaker 2: this is two games in a row now where your
- 16:54Speaker 2: secondary has looked pretty pretty pretty bleak, like it's something's.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Missing up to the what it's billed as. You know.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so overall, the only thing I'll say though, and
- 17:06Speaker 2: this is kind of my last point for this one,
- 17:08Speaker 2: is that with the articles, you're like A and M
- 17:11Speaker 2: breaks down the door of this road win. I was like,
- 17:15Speaker 2: the mind you like this, A and M's not a
- 17:18Speaker 2: program that's like never been known in college football. I
- 17:22Speaker 2: know we're older, but like the Mike Evans and Johnny
- 17:25Speaker 2: Manziliers were terribly long ago, like ESPNS found out like
- 17:29Speaker 2: this was a game changing win for the program, But
- 17:32Speaker 2: I was like, how far did they fall? Because yeah, yeah,
- 17:36Speaker 2: they got.
- 17:37Speaker 1: To get to get a college football playoff to start
- 17:39Speaker 1: knocking on the door with that stuff.
- 17:41Speaker 2: But I just thought that the way this game was
- 17:44Speaker 2: presented was like A and M's like groundbreaking. What dude,
- 17:48Speaker 2: you're you're you're actually a pretty good program. I know
- 17:50Speaker 2: that you kind of fell down a little bit of Jimbo.
- 17:52Speaker 2: But now if again Northern Illinois, you could say that's
- 17:56Speaker 2: a program change and win to be Notre Dame on
- 17:59Speaker 2: the road. It's cool, But that's not to me. That's
- 18:02Speaker 2: not like, oh my god, what crazy. Yep, you're a
- 18:06Speaker 2: you're a good football squad and you have all night
- 18:08Speaker 2: in the world. So I just thought the narrative behind
- 18:10Speaker 2: this win, as good as it was, was over the
- 18:13Speaker 2: top for a program that again, they're not lacking financially,
- 18:16Speaker 2: they're not liking players. They just need a head coach
- 18:18Speaker 2: maybe fine tune things a little bit, Chris, But they
- 18:21Speaker 2: didn't drop off the map.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Yeah there, And like you said, they got a ton
- 18:25Speaker 1: of money, they get the recruit in Texas.
- 18:29Speaker 2: A great home field advantage.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Great home field like and no matter what Jimbo did
- 18:34Speaker 1: or didn't do, they had a ton of talent. Still, yeah, yeah,
- 18:41Speaker 1: I agree. I did hear some of that because if
- 18:43Speaker 1: bol boy catches the snap, then they can't get through
- 18:49Speaker 1: who knows, they may have gone for two and lost
- 18:52Speaker 1: the game, or they going overtime or who knows, you know, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 18:56Speaker 1: but I get you. I mean, it's a great anytime
- 19:00Speaker 1: you're going against it. And I still look at him
- 19:02Speaker 1: as like like, although if I if I was an
- 19:05Speaker 1: AP voter, I wouldn't vote him in. But I think
- 19:10Speaker 1: if you look at who they lost to there there,
- 19:14Speaker 1: you know, there's no Northern Illinois on there. So if
- 19:18Speaker 1: they went out, they better, like I said, they better
- 19:21Speaker 1: hope USC is like a one loss team because other
- 19:25Speaker 1: than that, there's just no way those are gonna be
- 19:27Speaker 1: quality wins probably or quality losses. But yeah, I don't know, man,
- 19:31Speaker 1: but you know, it is a name the name recognition,
- 19:34Speaker 1: so maybe they would get in. But either way, you know,
- 19:40Speaker 1: it was a great win. And I have that many
- 19:43Speaker 1: explosive yard like to have seventeen completions and it wasn't
- 19:48Speaker 1: like seventeen to twenty three, you know, But so that
- 19:52Speaker 1: still has to improve obviously. But yeah, I'm al golden.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I don't you know, he's in the pros now decordinator.
- 20:00Speaker 1: But clearly, I don't know if they have a new
- 20:04Speaker 1: system to where these these dudes aren't grasping it or
- 20:06Speaker 1: they're not taking advantage of what they're good at or what.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I don't know. I have no clue. I'm not gonna
- 20:11Speaker 1: act like I'm this excess and O's guru. But some
- 20:14Speaker 1: don't look right with that defense because at times it
- 20:17Speaker 1: looks good still, but other times you're like, uh, hell though,
- 20:20Speaker 1: you know, like they both both sides like contain the run,
- 20:23Speaker 1: considering all much teams run, you know, both sides run,
- 20:26Speaker 1: and they did a pretty good job of containing the
- 20:31Speaker 1: Miami run. But like you said, they let a true
- 20:33Speaker 1: freshman run all over the place wide receiver wise, so
- 20:37Speaker 1: that dude special. But still, yeah, there's something going on there.
- 20:41Speaker 1: It's just period there just is all right, Speaking of
- 20:45Speaker 1: something going on there, the Clemson Tigers are one and
- 20:50Speaker 1: two for.
- 20:51Speaker 2: The first time.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Yeah since twenty fourteen. They went ten to two that year. Okay,
- 20:56Speaker 1: so don't forget it. No, that was in two thousand
- 20:59Speaker 1: and four. Though the Yellow Jackets said, f it, we're
- 21:05Speaker 1: walking off this thing. I can understand. I heard people saying,
- 21:08Speaker 1: why didn't dead Will call a time out? Are you stupid?
- 21:12Speaker 1: Like why would you call a timeout for them? Like
- 21:16Speaker 1: you want him to go on that field and have
- 21:18Speaker 1: to kick the longest field goal in the fucking program
- 21:21Speaker 1: history at that field and he did it.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I really, I really thought the coach pulled netmu were
- 21:28Speaker 2: you could have got a couple of yards. It's like
- 21:30Speaker 2: these dives to oh god, dude, all right, right right
- 21:33Speaker 2: mad fifty? No big deal? Like Okay, as a Cowboys fan,
- 21:37Speaker 2: yesterday seen Audrey kick one from sixty four easy. Yes,
- 21:40Speaker 2: I'm spoiled, but these guys aren't Audrey. Like that was
- 21:44Speaker 2: like as I was, I was texting on my buddy
- 21:46Speaker 2: who you know I, and I was like he's like,
- 21:49Speaker 2: are they kid? What? What shit? Oh?
- 21:51Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Then all of a sudden, the ball.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Goes up like oh, it's good. And it looked like
- 21:55Speaker 1: it looked like it was going right dude, and then
- 21:57Speaker 1: it just it is like a perfect gulf Like yeah,
- 22:01Speaker 1: he's like, damn dude, that thing came back. But you know,
- 22:05Speaker 1: I guess when you got Haines King twenty five carries
- 22:07Speaker 1: Bucko three not too shabby through the air too that yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 1: I know what you mean though, But hey, dude, it
- 22:14Speaker 1: freaking worked and it was just like you just stuck
- 22:19Speaker 1: in that moment, and I love seeing that when you
- 22:22Speaker 1: have what was it sixteen seconds left or something they
- 22:24Speaker 1: started running off the field. Yeah, right at the buzzer
- 22:28Speaker 1: walked off. I mean, it's just it's just phenomenal. And
- 22:35Speaker 1: you know, we talked about Georgia Tech last year and
- 22:38Speaker 1: how they were pretty close to turn that corner. And
- 22:42Speaker 1: now that coach, since he's been there, like he pulls
- 22:46Speaker 1: off upsets, dude, And now what they have to do.
- 22:49Speaker 1: It's it's twelfth for FBS right since twenty twenty two.
- 22:54Speaker 1: It's a twelve win as an underdog since Brent Key
- 22:58Speaker 1: took over. So you know, like I said, longest kick
- 23:06Speaker 1: in history for the program. So you know, we talked
- 23:11Speaker 1: about this team last year and they just have to
- 23:14Speaker 1: make sure that they don't go and lose like two
- 23:20Speaker 1: games to people that they shouldn't. You know, I think
- 23:24Speaker 1: that's really key. But if you look at their schedule
- 23:28Speaker 1: Marshall Temple, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Duke, Syracuse, NC Standing
- 23:34Speaker 1: Outs at NC State, Boston College, pitt and of course
- 23:38Speaker 1: Georgia at the end, it's hard like would you call
- 23:42Speaker 1: it somewhat of a slight underachievement or maybe just an
- 23:46Speaker 1: underachievement considering if they don't make the a SEC title
- 23:49Speaker 1: or if they're not in a weird tiebreaker or something
- 23:52Speaker 1: like that. Because you heard what you heard the teams
- 23:56Speaker 1: that I just named off. You know, I think I
- 23:59Speaker 1: gotta get it.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I think their playoff chances are really good because you
- 24:03Speaker 2: you have two impressive wins so far or may but
- 24:06Speaker 2: you have two good win you know, and Georgia as
- 24:10Speaker 2: long as you look like respectable. But yeah, I think
- 24:13Speaker 2: they have a they have a definite chance. They're kind
- 24:15Speaker 2: of like Indiana. Yeah like that, you know, like I'm
- 24:19Speaker 2: not saying they're Indiana's firepower offensively, it's a little different
- 24:22Speaker 2: of a system. Yeah, I as a fan, you gotta
- 24:26Speaker 2: be thinking playoffs this year, which would be awesome for them.
- 24:28Speaker 2: That's a great story. Speaking of statistics, which I like
- 24:33Speaker 2: to share, I heard today that from twenty twelve to
- 24:40Speaker 2: twenty twenty, Dabbles Sweeney, not one of my favorites, lost
- 24:45Speaker 2: two games to underrated teams. So from an eight year
- 24:47Speaker 2: spanning lost two games to unranked.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Teams, that's pretty good.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Since twenty twenty one until now, they've lost eight. So
- 24:56Speaker 2: you know, maybe he.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Should have just lived up to his word and retired,
- 25:01Speaker 1: you know, Rememory he said, if there's any money in
- 25:03Speaker 1: this involved for the for the kids. Yeah, they had coaches,
- 25:08Speaker 1: but the kids. I'm done. I'm not gonna be I'm
- 25:11Speaker 1: not gonna do it.
- 25:12Speaker 2: And you know, the big hype coming into this year
- 25:15Speaker 2: really was the dim and Penn State, which I've heard
- 25:17Speaker 2: from a lot of different sites, and I'm not saying
- 25:18Speaker 2: they tell, but it was like Clemson Pence, they have
- 25:21Speaker 2: the best talent coming back in the country. If you
- 25:24Speaker 2: watch them offensively, clubing does sound like a heist and potential.
- 25:28Speaker 2: And I'm not saying it's all on him either. It
- 25:30Speaker 2: could be him.
- 25:30Speaker 1: It could be that they don't know Williams, who was
- 25:32Speaker 1: a stud, who would get draft, who's gonna get drafted.
- 25:35Speaker 1: I will say that that does hurt their wide receiver.
- 25:37Speaker 1: But still you can't. You can't do this though, you know.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just watching their offense play, it's just there's
- 25:45Speaker 2: not quite a rhythm and flow to it. And I
- 25:50Speaker 2: know that Haynes King is a tough son of a
- 25:51Speaker 2: bitch because I love watching him play. But even Clemson's
- 25:54Speaker 2: the defense, which used to be pretty stout, is not
- 25:57Speaker 2: the same.
- 25:57Speaker 1: So yeah, no, it isn't. So they're just not the same.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yeah, well, transfer portal, you.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Know whatever, but they hit that portal.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Dude, Clemson, Now though you can't afford you, you do
- 26:13Speaker 2: have to probably run the table, you know, so and.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Then now they you know, they're already a game back
- 26:19Speaker 1: with Georgia Tech.
- 26:20Speaker 2: You know yeah, yep, so yeah that was man And
- 26:24Speaker 2: you know, I know, I know everyone likes to do.
- 26:26Speaker 2: There are different themes. I'm pretty sure if you asked
- 26:28Speaker 2: a neutral person, because I would never say Penn State,
- 26:30Speaker 2: but like for white out spot, he'll say Penn State
- 26:33Speaker 2: has the coolest atmosphere. That Georgia Tech thame looked really
- 26:36Speaker 2: cool because they did a white out for that game, Chris,
- 26:38Speaker 2: they look pretty badass watching on TV, so hey, hats
- 26:40Speaker 2: up to them and to Haines King. He'll probably never
- 26:43Speaker 2: be a pro stud, but that dude, he probably gets
- 26:47Speaker 2: hit fifteen twenty times a game. He's a tough SOLB.
- 26:49Speaker 2: And they say he was banged up in week one.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I'm sure he's banged up this week. But that guy,
- 26:54Speaker 2: he leads his team. He's tough and he's just he's
- 26:56Speaker 2: you can't help but like him as a football fan,
- 26:58Speaker 2: unless you're like maybe a Georgia that hates Georgia Tech
- 27:01Speaker 2: like to watch play college football. He really is.
- 27:04Speaker 1: He's a college football quarterback dude. Like, like I think
- 27:09Speaker 1: people get stuck in that thing like we're watching the
- 27:12Speaker 1: pros or something like who gives a ship where they
- 27:14Speaker 1: get drafted. Look what he does on this field right
- 27:17Speaker 1: here on Saturdays, dude, not on Sundays. Who cares about Sundays?
- 27:21Speaker 1: You know, I mean, I watch the NFL. But I'm saying,
- 27:24Speaker 1: if we're talking about college ball, then we're talking about
- 27:29Speaker 1: college ball, dude. It doesn't matter. Now. They are a
- 27:31Speaker 1: grinder team. They had to grind it out on the
- 27:36Speaker 1: road against the rebuilding Colorado team like they you know,
- 27:39Speaker 1: it's it's easy, and they probably will. I'm not saying
- 27:44Speaker 1: they're going to go unefeated, you know, I think they'll,
- 27:47Speaker 1: but I with their schedule, they probably can only drop
- 27:50Speaker 1: one in conference, you know. And when I asked, I'll
- 27:55Speaker 1: say this again, Okay, I don't like to choot my
- 27:58Speaker 1: own hord, but too Okay, the ACC getting two teams
- 28:04Speaker 1: in is pretty is looking kind of likely right about now.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I'm just saying true, just saying they got what they
- 28:10Speaker 1: and it's not like they didn't do that last year.
- 28:12Speaker 1: They did, you know, they did get it in. So
- 28:17Speaker 1: we'll see. We'll see how that goes. But like you said,
- 28:21Speaker 1: to have that game that has nothing to do with
- 28:24Speaker 1: the conference, and it just has to do with like
- 28:28Speaker 1: basically how it was last year, like a big primetime game, right,
- 28:33Speaker 1: a rivalry and all that with Georgia, Like that's a
- 28:35Speaker 1: great it's actually a great way to end the season
- 28:38Speaker 1: because even if they lose it, like you said, people
- 28:41Speaker 1: will be like, yeah, but dude, that's Georgia, so it
- 28:43Speaker 1: really let's put him in. You know, they deserve to
- 28:45Speaker 1: be in even if you know they lose to Miami anyway,
- 28:52Speaker 1: But honestly, that matchup is really you know, it's funky.
- 28:57Speaker 1: It might you know, Georgia text played not justlast year,
- 29:00Speaker 1: they've played them pretty tough over the years, so that
- 29:05Speaker 1: you know, that's that's a different story anyway. So Florida,
- 29:10Speaker 1: we know that they have a daunting schedule. Legway was
- 29:15Speaker 1: hurt during camp. He looks like he's taken a step back.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I think four out of his five interceptions were on
- 29:22Speaker 1: third down. And who would have thunk it that the
- 29:29Speaker 1: LSU Tigers playing death alley that they are gonna have
- 29:35Speaker 1: to fine tune and improve over the year on offense,
- 29:43Speaker 1: but their defense looking pretty freaking good. Like I did
- 29:46Speaker 1: not see this coming clearly, LSU should have won this
- 29:50Speaker 1: by about ten to fifteen whatever, fourteen points more. They
- 29:55Speaker 1: got the job done, good old nuts through a pick
- 29:59Speaker 1: where you're like, what are you doing? You got a
- 30:01Speaker 1: ten point lead, why are you even throwing that ball? Dude?
- 30:04Speaker 1: But he's not on the same page, and the wide
- 30:08Speaker 1: receivers aren't either. Even the halfback coming out of the
- 30:11Speaker 1: there was, you know, a little miscue. They're not on
- 30:13Speaker 1: the same page. But I think they can get better.
- 30:16Speaker 1: And remember they got like four out of five new
- 30:19Speaker 1: offensive linement. I think they can get better. That Durham
- 30:22Speaker 1: is a good running back. He still had almost one
- 30:24Speaker 1: hundred yards. So I'm not completely sold on l s
- 30:29Speaker 1: U just because of their offense. But it sounds funny
- 30:31Speaker 1: to say.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Well, I'm happy not a reporter because you said to
- 30:36Speaker 2: Brian Kelly Chris.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Oh my god, we just beat CC. You're in the SEC, dude,
- 30:43Speaker 1: So don't be talking about you just beat it SEC T.
- 30:45Speaker 1: You're in the SEC, dummy.
- 30:49Speaker 2: And all the guy said was coach or struggling around
- 30:51Speaker 2: the ball. Well, no, we're done, Look, we just want
- 30:52Speaker 2: to get God. I really can't say yeah, Brian Kelly.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Dick like the cover of three today was like I say,
- 31:03Speaker 1: the players when they're going over the tape, they should
- 31:05Speaker 1: get all they should say that back to him, like,
- 31:07Speaker 1: oh so it's one play, coach, you're gonna get on.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Mean we won the game, coach.
- 31:11Speaker 4: You know, like I thought that was yeah, but yeah,
- 31:14Speaker 4: he got real real real, Like I guess that he
- 31:18Speaker 4: could do that in Indiana, but in the SEC, I
- 31:21Speaker 4: don't think he can get away.
- 31:22Speaker 1: With that, dude.
- 31:23Speaker 2: So, I mean, you know, again, Nussmeyer. The Nussmeyer hype
- 31:28Speaker 2: was big too. But honestly, I think the most talented
- 31:31Speaker 2: kid right now in NSCYC might be that kid in Arkansas.
- 31:36Speaker 2: That's why I'm hearing the boy that that Taylor Green.
- 31:38Speaker 2: That kid can play some football. So and Bobby and
- 31:41Speaker 2: Bandy I know that, you know, but like, so it is.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Another college football player, right. Yeah, I don't care where
- 31:49Speaker 1: Diego goes in the pros. I could care less.
- 31:52Speaker 2: You heard all the arch Manning hype and likens right
- 31:55Speaker 2: now and again, you know to Nusmar spread that hey
- 31:59Speaker 2: there aren't they're ranked top five and you know they're winning.
- 32:02Speaker 2: But that's a good it's okay problem to have though, Hey,
- 32:07Speaker 2: your defense is kind of burning back to like that
- 32:09Speaker 2: that DVU kind of which they it's been gone for
- 32:12Speaker 2: Ailso hey're winning games and you would assume that the
- 32:16Speaker 2: offense will kind of get the ship road in the
- 32:18Speaker 2: right direction again. So if you're all, you're you're sitting
- 32:22Speaker 2: pretty lucky, like you know, things are looking pretty good
- 32:26Speaker 2: because obviously, as we know their schedule, you still have
- 32:29Speaker 2: quite a few hiccups. It's not quite Florida, but you
- 32:31Speaker 2: still got after a really easy Southeast Louisiana game and
- 32:36Speaker 2: you got at Old Miss, home to South Carolina, go
- 32:39Speaker 2: to Vandy, home to A and M, go to Bama,
- 32:42Speaker 2: then home to Arkansas like that. That's still a really
- 32:45Speaker 2: hard stretch. So you're gonna need to get that offense
- 32:48Speaker 2: together a little bit. But hey, you're you're winning games.
- 32:54Speaker 2: If you're Florida, Man, this is a tough one. Like
- 32:56Speaker 2: I was telling you for the show, Chris, Florida's defense
- 33:00Speaker 2: has allowed two touchdowns this year in three games and
- 33:03Speaker 2: they've lost two games. Like you know, you know you
- 33:06Speaker 2: normally iway say a team is a team you know,
- 33:09Speaker 2: you never you shouldn't be one to ever trash your
- 33:11Speaker 2: teammates because y'all are from the same cloth. Dude, if
- 33:14Speaker 2: I'm if I'm a Florida Gator defensive linebacker, d being like, dude,
- 33:17Speaker 2: y'all gotta get your shit together, like we we're we're
- 33:20Speaker 2: playing our asses off keeping all these games and you
- 33:23Speaker 2: guys just gotta just not screw it up like man
- 33:26Speaker 2: to lose to USF and then LSU give up seven
- 33:31Speaker 2: touchdowns like, oh, that's dude, that's gotta be tough again,
- 33:35Speaker 2: I feel much simply, I know you're not gonna give
- 33:37Speaker 2: you sibody to Gator fans either, and the billionaire of
- 33:40Speaker 2: your hot seat that's just getting hotter and hotter again.
- 33:44Speaker 2: That guy's in a tough spot. The schedule he's been
- 33:46Speaker 2: given this year is the toughest of the land in
- 33:48Speaker 2: our opinion or my opinion. But at the end of
- 33:51Speaker 2: the day, moral victories don't count when you're on the
- 33:53Speaker 2: hot seat. So if you're LSU nicely done, you get
- 33:56Speaker 2: a cake walk game this week and then it's kind
- 33:59Speaker 2: of a death rowe for five weeks in a row.
- 34:01Speaker 2: So we'll see. But hopefully they can maybe tweak their
- 34:03Speaker 2: offense and get a little more productive because defense and
- 34:06Speaker 2: we are now they're playing like team that could win
- 34:07Speaker 2: a title. Potentially, which we've not said about Lis two
- 34:10Speaker 2: Christ For the past three to four years, it's been
- 34:13Speaker 2: kind of the floodgates of everyone's rocking through. And now
- 34:16Speaker 2: it's like, I'll say it, how they transferred so quick
- 34:20Speaker 2: is surprising, I thought this year, but kay of like
- 34:25Speaker 2: as US stiled with like Lincoln Riley and Oklahoma or
- 34:28Speaker 2: as tame to USC. Normally you see teams make progress.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Yeah, this has been a huge team that won the championship.
- 34:36Speaker 1: You saw make progress.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Yeah, this has been a quick flip to a really
- 34:39Speaker 2: style defense. Again. So now with that being said, are
- 34:43Speaker 2: Clemson and Florida getta shot?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Right? That's what I was going to say, Like, we
- 34:47Speaker 1: can't say they're top five defense, but it's way better.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Yes it is.
- 34:51Speaker 1: It's probably good if they can get their ship together.
- 34:53Speaker 1: It's good enough to make a run, that's for sure.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Fair, very fair.
- 34:58Speaker 1: So we did see some teams like Texas, Iowa State.
- 35:05Speaker 1: For a while, Ohio State was playing with their food
- 35:08Speaker 1: then they ran away with it. We saw some of that.
- 35:11Speaker 1: We definitely saw some of that Texas. Uh, I don't know, man,
- 35:17Speaker 1: I don't know. You know, the the arch manning thing.
- 35:21Speaker 1: You know, people have been like showing replays of him
- 35:25Speaker 1: grimacing when he throws. But then I've also seen the
- 35:30Speaker 1: same grimace from last year, so I guess he makes
- 35:34Speaker 1: that face when he throws. I don't know, but his
- 35:39Speaker 1: coach ain't bailing him out with that, that's for damn sure.
- 35:42Speaker 1: You know, he was saying, hey, dude, like you're you're
- 35:45Speaker 1: not fundamentally sticking to what you can do here, and
- 35:49Speaker 1: you're looking to run more and and he said there's
- 35:52Speaker 1: a danger in kind of the one look run because
- 35:56Speaker 1: obviously that's not the system they run. It's different if
- 36:00Speaker 1: you're a full on running quarterback and you know you
- 36:02Speaker 1: have two running backs that you know they do have
- 36:05Speaker 1: two running backs. I'm saying, it's a different system. They
- 36:08Speaker 1: passed the ball too, so they're a wait and see.
- 36:13Speaker 1: On offense, their defense is damn good and they're gonna look,
- 36:16Speaker 1: it's gonna be like Miami last year, where you know,
- 36:20Speaker 1: damn you wasted that offense without a defense, And now
- 36:23Speaker 1: you know, it feels like Texas is gonna just do
- 36:25Speaker 1: the opposite, you know, where they've got damn good defense,
- 36:29Speaker 1: but they just can't get it together. And I don't
- 36:33Speaker 1: think Arch is going number one anymore this year. I
- 36:37Speaker 1: don't know. It's pretty crazy. So but anyway, old miss Arkansas,
- 36:42Speaker 1: you brought it up a little bit forty one to
- 36:44Speaker 1: thirty five. Shambless Trinidad. Shambless came in twenty one to
- 36:51Speaker 1: twenty nine three fifty three, had sixty two yards on
- 36:55Speaker 1: the ground, and that's going against the guy you mentioned,
- 36:59Speaker 1: Taylor Green. Dude put up one hundred and fifteen on
- 37:02Speaker 1: the ground, had a tuddy on the ground average eight
- 37:07Speaker 1: point two carries again a rush and they ran for
- 37:11Speaker 1: two twenty one compared to one twenty four. And he threw, oh,
- 37:15Speaker 1: by the way, for three zero five through the air.
- 37:18Speaker 1: You know, the razorbacks tend to play these guys tough,
- 37:23Speaker 1: and especially when you're going with a new quarterback after
- 37:25Speaker 1: Austin Simmons. But man, you may want to just go
- 37:29Speaker 1: with shambless now. You know, we've seen players come in
- 37:32Speaker 1: and look good and then two weeks later, once they
- 37:34Speaker 1: put something on tape, someone puts to an end to it.
- 37:37Speaker 1: But it feels like Arizona or Arizona Arkansas is gonna
- 37:43Speaker 1: be a little bit more sustainable this year, because remember
- 37:46Speaker 1: they got off to a pretty good start where they were.
- 37:49Speaker 1: They were a tough out and then they fell apart.
- 37:52Speaker 1: But with that quarterback, this could get interesting. And they
- 37:56Speaker 1: got Memphis, Notre Dame at Tennessee, A and M Auburn,
- 38:00Speaker 1: Mississippi State, LSU, Texas and Missouri. Though that's that I
- 38:06Speaker 1: didn't know. That's their that's their next nine games, you know.
- 38:10Speaker 1: So they're gonna have to go ahead and prove it.
- 38:13Speaker 1: But what do you think man trying to add Shambless,
- 38:16Speaker 1: I mean, just the name alone. Gotta give a guy
- 38:18Speaker 1: another look.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and I like him more than the guy who's
- 38:24Speaker 2: been playing the first couple of weeks. Again, Man, I
- 38:29Speaker 2: don't know, And I can't really rip my guy because
- 38:31Speaker 2: I'm a huge linkift from supporter, but it.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Well, actually I know you can't rip him. I know,
- 38:36Speaker 1: I know, but but you know, for in Farness.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Last year, Jackson Darte put up good numbers. I just
- 38:41Speaker 2: know I wasn't a big fan because I've done the
- 38:43Speaker 2: big games. Canna would let the team down. Kiffin has
- 38:46Speaker 2: ways to have that offense work. Okay, but it does
- 38:51Speaker 2: seem that, like I just maybe maybe I'm too hard
- 38:56Speaker 2: for critics. I guess I'm not sure. But nonetheless, you've
- 38:58Speaker 2: your ale, miss, like, hey, you have another year where
- 39:01Speaker 2: you have the talent you have. I will say that
- 39:04Speaker 2: the ground games maybe not quite as strong as it
- 39:06Speaker 2: has been the last couple of years. The last two seasons.
- 39:08Speaker 2: They can run the ball like crazy. Obviously, two years
- 39:12Speaker 2: ago they had Judkins which was really clutch, and then
- 39:15Speaker 2: this last year they had some good running backs. This
- 39:17Speaker 2: year it's a little more of going back to passing
- 39:20Speaker 2: the ball. But if you're all Miss, I really think
- 39:24Speaker 2: again this other year where you're in the you're in
- 39:26Speaker 2: the teams right now. But I think their goal should
- 39:30Speaker 2: be trying to make the playoffs. And I do feel
- 39:32Speaker 2: kind of like the fact that they they're they're a
- 39:35Speaker 2: good B level team, Chris. They're they're gonna win probably
- 39:38Speaker 2: nine or ten games, but that get over the hump
- 39:42Speaker 2: with Georgia or Bama or winning the one he gotta win.
- 39:45Speaker 2: They haven't quite got to that point yet, or maybe
- 39:47Speaker 2: their schedule hasn't give them the chance to so again
- 39:50Speaker 2: a nice win. I'm kicking myself because I said on
- 39:53Speaker 2: the show, always bet the over for this game, and
- 39:57Speaker 2: I believe it's I'd be like forty four to forty
- 39:59Speaker 2: and I'll hit the score and that was I looked,
- 40:02Speaker 2: looked too much whiskey during the Tennessee Georgia gam unfortunately, Yeah,
- 40:07Speaker 2: m but hey, a fun one, a great watch. Kad
- 40:12Speaker 2: comes out of there. Who had the ball last? But hey,
- 40:14Speaker 2: for Taylor Green, I'm not sure what all the weapons
- 40:17Speaker 2: he has around him, but you you threw for three
- 40:20Speaker 2: hundred and five yards. He ran for a buck fifteen, Like, dude,
- 40:23Speaker 2: your fun to watch. And yeah, and for for Laying,
- 40:27Speaker 2: now you either got Trinidad or Simmons, So we'll see.
- 40:31Speaker 2: It's a good problem to have.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Because Simmons does struggle. You know, at least they can
- 40:36Speaker 1: go to him. And now I will say this about
- 40:39Speaker 1: old miss. These last two years a schedule, you know
- 40:42Speaker 1: from the sounds of it, these next two years, you
- 40:46Speaker 1: know like it's gonna be tough for schedules. So you know,
- 40:51Speaker 1: he better get a ship together because he may be
- 40:53Speaker 1: looking at a Florida schedule and then all of a sudden,
- 40:55Speaker 1: it might be seven and five, my friend.
- 40:58Speaker 2: So for for my guy Laying, you got two lange,
- 41:01Speaker 2: which will not be easy but should be a win
- 41:03Speaker 2: at home. But then you got a home to l
- 41:05Speaker 2: s U tough you play Wazoo should be a win.
- 41:09Speaker 2: But then you go at Georgia at Oklahoma. Yeah yeah,
- 41:13Speaker 2: you bet buck up the tense traps, sir, because that
- 41:16Speaker 2: l s U Georgia Oklahoma that that's Hey, we'll see
- 41:21Speaker 2: if Lane wins those I'll be I'll be Hoti Toddy
- 41:24Speaker 2: go miss Let's go. But that'd be really impressive for
- 41:27Speaker 2: a win for them.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and uh, you know Vandy Cruz is in
- 41:33Speaker 1: the second half. Obviously, you know, the QB getting hurt
- 41:37Speaker 1: for the Game Cocks did affect it. But when you
- 41:41Speaker 1: look at that game and how it was going and
- 41:43Speaker 1: the gashing them with the run, and they were gonna
- 41:45Speaker 1: win the game regardless. Even though I picked the game Cocks.
- 41:49Speaker 1: By the end of the week, I couldn't. I couldn't
- 41:51Speaker 1: stop not, you know, siding with Diego.
- 41:54Speaker 2: I had.
- 41:54Speaker 1: I had to throw a little money on Diego and
- 41:59Speaker 1: so they got the I'm done. Were they the team
- 42:02Speaker 1: that threw it in like a little like man made
- 42:05Speaker 1: creek looking thing? Is that what happened there?
- 42:07Speaker 2: I'm not sure.
- 42:09Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, that's wrong, because they got a river.
- 42:12Speaker 1: There was another team.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Who was Georgia Tech through like the goalpost and was
- 42:17Speaker 2: like a pond you see on your campus or something.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Yeah, they said it's a river. I said that ain't
- 42:22Speaker 1: no river, dude.
- 42:22Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 42:24Speaker 1: I don't know what they called that in the South,
- 42:25Speaker 1: but in the Midwest, we don't call that a river. Dude.
- 42:28Speaker 1: That's that looked like a man made something.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Now like three years ago, Tennessee through that ship in
- 42:33Speaker 2: the river when maybe, yeah, that was actual.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Vandy did too. Remember last year?
- 42:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they had the walk.
- 42:39Speaker 1: They had a walk. Remember they had to walk a
- 42:40Speaker 1: long time to get there. But yeah, that's what it was. Good.
- 42:45Speaker 1: I'm glad that you remember that. So Vandy got it done.
- 42:49Speaker 1: And they do look like a team on a mission
- 42:51Speaker 1: where they're not going to be six and six this year.
- 42:54Speaker 1: It looks like they're a better overall team. I'm not
- 42:58Speaker 1: saying they're gonna get to the SEC final case State.
- 43:04Speaker 1: You know, it's a rough one. They lose the Zona
- 43:07Speaker 1: good competitive game, but they but they did lose. And
- 43:11Speaker 1: then obviously, you know UCLA and VODSEEK haven't been looking great,
- 43:17Speaker 1: and uh, to get beat by New Mexico. I mean
- 43:23Speaker 1: I had the plus fifteen and a half because I
- 43:25Speaker 1: had seen the Michigan game, you know, but still I
- 43:29Speaker 1: wouldn't have guessed thirty five. I didn't think they'd win
- 43:31Speaker 1: the game. I thought it they'd be like, you know,
- 43:34Speaker 1: three points or something, Ucla Ucula would get over. But
- 43:37Speaker 1: vod Tech and Ukula, the head Honchos are no longer
- 43:42Speaker 1: the head honches. They're gone. Both of them got just
- 43:45Speaker 1: destroyed Old Dominion, New Mexico State or New Mexico. Sorry,
- 43:49Speaker 1: and they're like, nope, that's that's not going to happen
- 43:51Speaker 1: on our watch. So they're we've already gotten our first
- 43:54Speaker 1: two firings. And because the NCAA didn't want to take
- 43:59Speaker 1: action with rules five years ago, which let's not forget
- 44:04Speaker 1: before we blame the kids. You know this, they could
- 44:07Speaker 1: have already done this. There's a thirty day they can
- 44:09Speaker 1: start transferring right now, and you know, you could play
- 44:13Speaker 1: in four games. It's still red shirt. So maybe they
- 44:16Speaker 1: should have wait one more week, but that's just me.
- 44:19Speaker 1: What do I know? But yeah, you can. You have
- 44:23Speaker 1: a thirty day window. It just opened up. Whenever your
- 44:25Speaker 1: your coach gets fired, you know you can't play. I've
- 44:30Speaker 1: heard that rumor you can't play the same year. So
- 44:33Speaker 1: it's not a trade or anything like that, they can't
- 44:36Speaker 1: go someplace and play. I've heard that little misinformation out there.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I have not seen that that is from what I know,
- 44:45Speaker 1: you can't. You can't play on that team.
- 44:48Speaker 2: I will say. Obviously, public perception. Part of being a
- 44:51Speaker 2: head football coach in a big conference is kind of
- 44:54Speaker 2: how the media perceives you. And if you remember last year,
- 44:57Speaker 2: Chris Deshaun Foster, his old being press conference was.
- 45:01Speaker 1: Just super weird at the big time media.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Yeah, he wasn't prepared, his questions were awkward, So that
- 45:08Speaker 2: kind of really put him on a weird path and
- 45:09Speaker 2: he started the year off rough. So I I truly
- 45:13Speaker 2: believe that if he'd had a regular press conference that
- 45:16Speaker 2: were just maybe answered the questions in more of a
- 45:18Speaker 2: regular tone, he probably wouldn't be fired yet. But that
- 45:21Speaker 2: the weird starts of the year with the weird press conference, and.
- 45:24Speaker 1: He hadn't been a head coach at a high profile
- 45:27Speaker 1: you know it was he hadn't been a head coach, right,
- 45:30Speaker 1: I don't think he was a head coach anywhere, No.
- 45:31Speaker 2: No, never was. He was just lum so then but
- 45:34Speaker 2: then he fished out. OK, then you come back and
- 45:36Speaker 2: you obviously this year was off to a rugged start,
- 45:39Speaker 2: so hey, that's tough man. And obviously and.
- 45:42Speaker 1: They're recruiting well, we talked about that. You know, they
- 45:44Speaker 1: are recruiting well, so they probably want to try to
- 45:46Speaker 1: hold those recruits.
- 45:47Speaker 2: So it must be some some boosters probably tripping up
- 45:50Speaker 2: a little bit. And all right, dude, you gotta go.
- 45:52Speaker 2: And for Vo Tech, that dude was there for longer
- 45:54Speaker 2: than Foster. But that is a that's a pretty proper program.
- 45:57Speaker 2: I mean, hell, I remember back in the days where
- 45:59Speaker 2: you know, it was Michael Vay, like Vote's always just
- 46:01Speaker 2: been a pretty good team. But when you do get
- 46:04Speaker 2: smoked at hold my old Dominion and Vandy kind of
- 46:07Speaker 2: smoked you like they that's one of those things where
- 46:10Speaker 2: again you're kind of weird spot like it is tough,
- 46:12Speaker 2: Like you know, the bandy's not world beaters, but you
- 46:16Speaker 2: can't getting ran out the gym by a mid level
- 46:20Speaker 2: tier school. That's probably the last straw and which was
- 46:23Speaker 2: our pretty short leash already for for Bret Pryde.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Yeah, like you said before we hit record, like you
- 46:30Speaker 1: can't be entering sand Man getting everybody pumped up and
- 46:33Speaker 1: then just getting feel That's that's definitely not a good look.
- 46:38Speaker 1: My second favorite team behind the Gophers, of course, the
- 46:42Speaker 1: Miami Hurricanes looking sharp even in a weather delay, which
- 46:47Speaker 1: obviously in September hurricane season, you know, it happens, happened
- 46:53Speaker 1: a lot this last week. They got the job done.
- 46:56Speaker 1: They didn't you know, overlook them. They didn't do this.
- 47:00Speaker 1: They played damn good. And Beck has been very precise.
- 47:06Speaker 1: You know, he threw one bad pick or whatever, but
- 47:08Speaker 1: other than that, man, he looked good. The running game
- 47:10Speaker 1: is there, the defense is there, and I said, the
- 47:14Speaker 1: line of scrimmage is big for them. And you know,
- 47:17Speaker 1: like I for sure thought both of them were in
- 47:21Speaker 1: the top ten. I'd argue that they were in the
- 47:23Speaker 1: top five. Back to the Cover three Saturday night, they
- 47:26Speaker 1: were saying they have the best combination offense in defensive
- 47:31Speaker 1: lines in the country. Now that's them saying it. I'm
- 47:34Speaker 1: not ready to say that because I don't want to
- 47:35Speaker 1: jinx anything. But we all know if you take care
- 47:39Speaker 1: of the line of scrimmage, good things ken in will happen.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Speaking of good things, at least from a country roads
- 47:50Speaker 1: point of view, West Virginia have all these injuries, which I,
- 47:54Speaker 1: by the way, didn't know and a lot of them
- 47:57Speaker 1: happened in that game against Ohio. But they backyard brawl,
- 48:06Speaker 1: they get they find a way, rich Ord finds a
- 48:09Speaker 1: way to get a job Country Roads, and you know,
- 48:14Speaker 1: next year they're not playing, but they signed it basically
- 48:20Speaker 1: a decade long year or long contract, so the next
- 48:24Speaker 1: decade the backyard Brawl is in full full force.
- 48:30Speaker 2: My friend, that's awesome. I I I would love to
- 48:33Speaker 2: try to sing the song again, but I don't want
- 48:35Speaker 2: to be disrespectful to the my favorite karaoke or I
- 48:38Speaker 2: should say favorite piano barb Virginia. So it was actual
- 48:43Speaker 2: pretty cool because they're playing that song in the background
- 48:45Speaker 2: when rich Rod was h the game.
- 48:50Speaker 1: So yeah, I saw that, and.
- 48:53Speaker 2: That is one of the more like if you're a
- 48:54Speaker 2: college football fan, because you know in basketball it's not
- 48:57Speaker 2: the same for those two. But like that is like
- 48:59Speaker 2: a legit true, like great like blue collar football rivalry.
- 49:04Speaker 2: The backyard Brawl. It's always the start of the year.
- 49:06Speaker 2: It's always a fun game, it's always close. There's definitely
- 49:09Speaker 2: a lot of pride because obviously you own there's not
- 49:12Speaker 2: a lot of competition in West Virginia for football, so
- 49:15Speaker 2: that that kind of is their home pride and joy.
- 49:18Speaker 2: But yeah, that that was That was a really fun
- 49:20Speaker 2: game and another one of those awkward situations where a
- 49:25Speaker 2: quarterback is playing for his life to win a game
- 49:28Speaker 2: in ot and kind of the last play of the
- 49:29Speaker 2: game is kind of just chucks it away. It was
- 49:31Speaker 2: just one of those like what what what are you doing?
- 49:35Speaker 1: Dude?
- 49:35Speaker 2: Like it's just one of those like brain cramp moments. Uh,
- 49:39Speaker 2: but good for rich Rod. Hey, and that's just the
- 49:42Speaker 2: beautiful party college football. Chris to where you literally were
- 49:46Speaker 2: on our segment last week for the crafty craft pick
- 49:48Speaker 2: of the week. You lose to Ohio, a mid tier
- 49:52Speaker 2: max school, but then you come back as a literally
- 49:58Speaker 2: a rule you know, no power team against the small
- 50:03Speaker 2: team and they turn right around and win.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Then you come back to the home dogs, a seven
- 50:08Speaker 2: point dog and you be your huge rival and then
- 50:11Speaker 2: you Blair Country Roads, so take them home. Hey, that
- 50:14Speaker 2: was cool win and good for college football. I'm biased
- 50:16Speaker 2: to like the song, but yeah, it's just a fun
- 50:18Speaker 2: game to watch, and it's cool that despite so many
- 50:23Speaker 2: teams changing, so many rivalers disappearing like I still this
- 50:26Speaker 2: day miss Maryland Duke basketball. Like being a Carolina fan,
- 50:30Speaker 2: It was fun because it was Carolina, Maryland, and Duke,
- 50:33Speaker 2: and there was hatred amongst all three. We obviously hated
- 50:35Speaker 2: Duke together, but that was good for basketball. I never
- 50:38Speaker 2: missed Maryland Duke games either. So it's fun that you
- 50:41Speaker 2: still see some of these colleges keeping rivals that make
- 50:44Speaker 2: fans love their sport no matter what.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. And that's why, although it sucks they they're
- 50:51Speaker 1: going to miss a year, it is nice that they
- 50:53Speaker 1: got a decade long and I'd assume they're going to
- 50:56Speaker 1: keep it going. Why not. It's it's good. And this
- 51:00Speaker 1: is the thing that people that don't follow college people
- 51:03Speaker 1: don't understand, Like, no matter what year Westernton he has, now,
- 51:09Speaker 1: they still beat it, you know what I mean? Just
- 51:12Speaker 1: what it is like the Gophers beaten Wisconsin keeping him
- 51:18Speaker 1: out of a ball game. Yeah they were only seven
- 51:20Speaker 1: and five last year, the Gophers, but they kept him
- 51:22Speaker 1: out of a ball game. It was great, you know. Yeah,
- 51:24Speaker 1: So that that's that's what it's all about. Most teams
- 51:29Speaker 1: aren't gonna win the national championship. Although it is deeper,
- 51:32Speaker 1: The field is deeper. Now I will say this. I'm
- 51:35Speaker 1: just gonna mention this. The quarterback for the Alabama Crimson side.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Speaking of Wisconsin, had a good week. Okay, had a
- 51:47Speaker 1: good week, very economical, but it's Wisconsin, so let's not
- 51:54Speaker 1: get crazy. But he did look good. Okay, Well we'll see.
- 51:59Speaker 1: I did see in the very top of the stadium, Marshall,
- 52:03Speaker 1: I saw some empty seats up there, Okay in Tuscaloot,
- 52:08Speaker 1: I see, I seen it. I really, I looked up.
- 52:10Speaker 1: I said, man, they got some empty huh weird. But yeah,
- 52:14Speaker 1: hey did you see that lottery that clip of that
- 52:17Speaker 1: lady that the lottery that Yeah, yep, she's gonna buy
- 52:21Speaker 1: out the contract in the present air and the athletic
- 52:25Speaker 1: that ship is hilarious, dude, Oh I love that. Any
- 52:30Speaker 1: other items before we start breaking down, We'll start with
- 52:33Speaker 1: Oklahoma and Auburn, Jackson, Arnold coming back to or sorry,
- 52:37Speaker 1: coming back to the Sooner bill, But any other, uh,
- 52:41Speaker 1: any other items? What'd you think? You know? Miami? What
- 52:43Speaker 1: are you gonna say something about Miami? You're just gonna
- 52:45Speaker 1: not saying about him?
- 52:47Speaker 2: Uh? I thought, yeah, I thought they played good.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Again.
- 52:54Speaker 2: I do think do you kind of won like the
- 52:56Speaker 2: soup stakes? For now? Is he as flashy as cam
- 52:59Speaker 2: word or some other guys, mill but he's gonna make solid,
- 53:02Speaker 2: solid plays, and he just looks like he's comfortable. Like
- 53:06Speaker 2: That's what I used when they played Notre Dame because
- 53:08Speaker 2: I saw that game a lot more than I saw
- 53:09Speaker 2: the last one. Right, he's a veteran guy. He won't
- 53:14Speaker 2: get like, you know, phased out by big plays. He's
- 53:16Speaker 2: just gonna step back and make passes need to make,
- 53:19Speaker 2: which not a lot of college teams have that privileged quarterbacks.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Like again, he maybe maybe like that material Oklahoma, and
- 53:25Speaker 2: he's maybe got better wheels, but like he's been in
- 53:29Speaker 2: big game situations. Your your team should feel comfortable around
- 53:32Speaker 2: him just because he knows.
- 53:34Speaker 1: What he's doing.
- 53:35Speaker 2: So that that that.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Now, my my biggest spirit for you, guys, is your
- 53:43Speaker 2: head coach in the game, game time decisions, which is
- 53:46Speaker 2: out of players hands. He's chryst the ball scares more
- 53:49Speaker 2: than a player on your team.
- 53:50Speaker 1: I'll say that that's fair. Now, he did build the team, Okay,
- 53:54Speaker 1: so the number one offensive or line of scrimmage. True,
- 53:59Speaker 1: you got to get credit for that too, But I
- 54:00Speaker 1: hear you, I hear you. Yeah, I mean I think
- 54:05Speaker 1: the impressive part is they lost so many pass catchers one,
- 54:10Speaker 1: and to remember he didn't play in the spring because
- 54:13Speaker 1: of his elbow. So to look this good right now,
- 54:17Speaker 1: they're only going to get better, you know. So yeah,
- 54:21Speaker 1: I like, I like what I gotta see, but I see,
- 54:23Speaker 1: but you know, it's a long season and you know
- 54:28Speaker 1: there's plenty of Like I just mentioned Georgia Tech. That's
- 54:30Speaker 1: a funky matchup on average for US. So speaking of
- 54:35Speaker 1: a couple of years ago, could have taken a knee
- 54:37Speaker 1: against Georgia Tech. All Right, Auburn, Oklahoma, two thirty ABC Oklahoma.
- 54:47Speaker 1: You know, we knew they had a defense last year.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Their offense is producing more this year. They're running in,
- 54:56Speaker 1: passing the ball. John Mattire, you know, he may have
- 55:02Speaker 1: some throws where you're like, hey, dude, what are you doing?
- 55:05Speaker 1: What are you doing? But he's he's a good player, man,
- 55:09Speaker 1: He's a very good player who could pass in and
- 55:13Speaker 1: run Jackson Arnold so far, you know, they haven't really
- 55:19Speaker 1: needed him to pass just yet. And they ran all
- 55:23Speaker 1: over Baylor, and I had Baylor, but I was surprised
- 55:28Speaker 1: at that. I gotta say, I was very surprised that
- 55:31Speaker 1: they they were able to run that much. Not to
- 55:34Speaker 1: say Baylor's got this top ten run defense or whatever.
- 55:37Speaker 1: I just they were just gashing him. Now are they
- 55:42Speaker 1: going to be able to do that in this game?
- 55:44Speaker 1: I highly doubt. If that's not to say they're not
- 55:46Speaker 1: gonna be able to run. I think they'll get over
- 55:48Speaker 1: one hundred yards rushing, but you know they're they're averaging
- 55:52Speaker 1: a lot more than just that, you know, so, I
- 55:55Speaker 1: mean they average two forty two on the ground, you
- 55:58Speaker 1: know so, so if you get hold them to even
- 56:00Speaker 1: one thirty, that's winning. And they've done a good job
- 56:05Speaker 1: at stopping the rush too, so I mean, you know,
- 56:10Speaker 1: not as good through the air or whatever, but some
- 56:12Speaker 1: of that is the quarterback they faced with Baylor. Of
- 56:14Speaker 1: those yards, I do have to say in my against
- 56:20Speaker 1: the spread segment, I haven't put a bet down, but
- 56:25Speaker 1: that's six and a half or I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 56:27Speaker 1: keep an eyeball on it, especially because if they can
- 56:33Speaker 1: get the run going, that helps. Now, Oklahoma played a
- 56:38Speaker 1: running team, as we know, but in Michigan. But Michigan
- 56:45Speaker 1: doesn't have the wide receivers that Auburn does. Because Auburn
- 56:49Speaker 1: has Coleman, they have guys, So Arnold's gonna have to
- 56:53Speaker 1: hit on something because they're gonna contain the run enough. Yeah,
- 56:57Speaker 1: maybe the first driver too that they you know, they'll
- 57:01Speaker 1: have some success and then you know, here and there
- 57:03Speaker 1: they'll have success. But at some point I think Oklahoma
- 57:06Speaker 1: will at least if they have to, they'll probably sell
- 57:09Speaker 1: out to stop it and force Arnold to throw the ball.
- 57:13Speaker 1: It is just different than Michigan because, like I said,
- 57:17Speaker 1: the talent he has to throw to is much better.
- 57:21Speaker 1: So a big game, how do you see this one
- 57:24Speaker 1: playing out? Obviously it's in Oklahoma, correct.
- 57:27Speaker 2: Yes it is. It's in Norman.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it's in Norman. So what says you? My longtime friend.
- 57:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Oklahoma, and Vegas is suggesting the same.
- 57:40Speaker 2: I didn't get the minus six and a half, which
- 57:43Speaker 2: is a pretty strong respectable spread. I did think, you know,
- 57:48Speaker 2: obviously I'm not. I think Aubert is probably a better
- 57:52Speaker 2: team than Michigan. But you saw the way Oklahoma handled
- 57:55Speaker 2: Michigan's quarterback be a little bit different than But I
- 57:59Speaker 2: just overall think what do we really know about Auburn?
- 58:03Speaker 2: I feel like the last two seasons they've kind of
- 58:05Speaker 2: been kind of like that mid level tier SEC team
- 58:08Speaker 2: that's kind of taking a couple of SEPs back where
- 58:10Speaker 2: they've been.
- 58:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I get win and then you know, yeah, and
- 58:15Speaker 5: I'm I'm pretty I'm pretty sure they that Oklahoma beat
- 58:18Speaker 5: them last year in the Crazy Game in in Jordan
- 58:21Speaker 5: Hare Stadium.
- 58:22Speaker 2: So uh to see Oklahoma Now they're gonna be on
- 58:25Speaker 2: their home field. I like Venables and as the defensive coordinator,
- 58:29Speaker 2: that dude just kind of gets it. His game planning is.
- 58:32Speaker 2: He's kind of a higher level DC.
- 58:35Speaker 1: So yeah, the coach where did he used to coach?
- 58:39Speaker 2: Uh, somewhere in the A SEC, somewhere in the A
- 58:42Speaker 2: s C. Yeah, so some some team. Yeah, well and
- 58:46Speaker 2: and then maybe go show that he.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Was good since he left. That's what ye.
- 58:50Speaker 2: Maybe the head coach doesn't really know what he's doing
- 58:52Speaker 2: down in a good old uh Conway South out and
- 58:54Speaker 2: it's not Kyle or wherever wherever the hell Clemson's from
- 58:58Speaker 2: Clemson name of the city, I don't know. But anyways, Yeah,
- 59:01Speaker 2: so I'll be cheer and for all you. That's where
- 59:04Speaker 2: my good friend he'll be. Actually, he invited me to
- 59:07Speaker 2: the game. I'm not I'm I don't know if I'll
- 59:09Speaker 2: be able to go, but but I will be going
- 59:11Speaker 2: to Tusk Lucier for sure. Yeah, so I'll take o you.
- 59:14Speaker 2: I think they get the job done. I just think
- 59:16Speaker 2: that defensive coordinator is making it work. And now that
- 59:18Speaker 2: your receivers are mildly healthy and you have a quarterback
- 59:21Speaker 2: that is like kind of a dual threat, I think
- 59:23Speaker 2: Oklahoma's the better team.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to Oklahoma to win, but I'm not
- 59:29Speaker 1: one hundred percent sold on the on the spread just yet.
- 59:33Speaker 1: I think that Michigan was in that game and could
- 59:38Speaker 1: have furthered the game, if that makes sense, like all
- 59:41Speaker 1: the way down to the wire. Maybe they lose, sure
- 59:44Speaker 1: I think they would have, but I do think that
- 59:46Speaker 1: they could have. It could have been closer all the
- 59:49Speaker 1: way down. And I just I saw some circumstances where
- 59:52Speaker 1: you're like, man, man, But you know, Arnold, I don't know,
- 59:57Speaker 1: like I guess sometimes you the recency bias, right, And
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: we're gonna find out if my recency bias with Baylor,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: who by the way, has a good quarterback, Yeah, I
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: would say great on the college level, so you know,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: and they beat the shit out of that so but
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: they don't got Oklahoma's defense. But yeah, I'm with you
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: on the Soonerville especially at home and all that. You
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: know for sure now having watched Materier, he does have
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: to calm down on some of those passes. But like
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: dumb passes, risks stuff, But he's got balls, you know,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: so he goes for it sometimes. But yeah, I like it.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: I'm not I can't say which way on the spread,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: but the plus six and a half of that puppy,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: I may, I don't know, I'm not sure, but yeah,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: I like the Sooners as well. All right, Illinois in Indiana, Indiana.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: It's at Indiana number nine, he gets number nineteen Indiana.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: You know, they said that they played the they've they've
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: now we've seen a bunch of their scheduling in the
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: non conference and they said they're playing the SEC non
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: conference style. Funny, the SEC just changed their rules and said,
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: not only are we going to a nine conference games,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: but one of your non conference has to be a
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: power school. So therefore, you know, he snuffed that little
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: shot in. But to be fair, a lot of these
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: teams played, you know, power teams at the conference.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: People.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: What it is is that damn November game that you know,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: it's actually the more I look at the easy walk
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: through November first of all you have, they're gonna have
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: three of them, right or two of them? I should say, Yeah,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: every fucking team can schedule that anytime they want. Yeah,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: there's no rule that says it has to be in September.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: So if you're about to play your rival on rivalry
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: week during thanksgame, why in the fuck wouldn't you do that?
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: It does make a lot of sense. Now, I agree,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: there are schools like in the SEC They're gonna fucking
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: sell no matter what you know. So maybe they're thinking,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: do we can't do that in the height of a season,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, you know you have it
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: just a walk through. So but it makes sense to
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: heal and rest and shit, you don't play some young
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: players whatever. Anyway, Illinois at Indiana, Illinois at least played
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: a pretty solid duke team. Turnovers played a big role
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: in that one. Right now, Indiana, their stats are all
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: over the place, like three oh seven on the ground, Marshal,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: they're rushing three hundred and seven yards, they're putting up
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: fifty two a game, two eighty four in the air,
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: three oh seven on the ground. But they're and they're
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: not giving up any pass, which goes along with a
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: blowout because you know, they start to these bad teams
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: have to pass and then they look like shit. But
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: they are giving up a buck fifteen on the ground,
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: which is a little surprising. Fernando mende Mendoza comes from Cal.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: They got players, they got money, they really do. Indiana
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: has money. So you know when it's Ken State, you know,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: I'll say this old it was Old Dominion. I think
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: first week, wasn't it because that was a close That
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: was a close game, but we know Old Dominion is
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: pretty decent anyway, Uh the okay, so how do you
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: at least Illinois and that was was that on the road?
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: That was in Duke, wasn't it?
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Yeah, so at least they've been tested already. Now Ken
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: they're gonna have to be able to stop the run,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: which they've shown they can. You know, I don't I
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: like Illinois quarterback a little bit more, but not much
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: because Mendoza is a pretty good player. You know at
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: Cal they played really well with him. So I don't know, man,
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: I want to go Illinois, but also you know the
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Illinois bet I have, they got to go eight and four.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: I'm kind of like, I don't know, And when Indiana
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: had to play ranked teams last year didn't go good obviously. Now,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: I thought they battled pretty hard for a house state
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: for a while and then it got out of hand.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Notre Dame. They battled with Notre Dame, but Notre Dame
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: eventually just you know, clean their clock a little bit.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: But when Notre Dame, you know, they went to the
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: National championship game. So what says you won this one?
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: You know, this is a big matchup. I kind of
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: counted I counted it as an l at the beginning
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: of the year when I made that Illinois bet. But
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: but what says you and this one? This is a
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: great matchup.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: I feel, uh, last year like this would have been
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: in Indiana lock. But I don't. My gut says take Illinois.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: And you said Indiana lock or Indiana.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: Indiana lock like last because they were just like they
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: were like a wagon, like they were on fire. But yeah,
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: you're right, Yeah, you know, obviously people are gonna overlook
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: them this year. Obviously they still got some talent. Now
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: they've played they haven't played world beaters at all yet.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: But right, I guess I just feel that like Illinois
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: is the better team. But Vegas, Like, dude, we gotta,
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: we gotta let Indiana be the favorites, you know. Yeah, now, yeah,
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: because Indiana beat well Dominion again did whoop on a
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: votech but then Kenna saw in Indiana states they won
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: their last two game games roughly one hundred and thirty
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: one hundred and forty three to nine. Okay, but you know,
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: shiit I I'm just gonna take they have Illinois got
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: more training talently, they'll be ready to go. Uh and
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: if Indiana's running game defensively isn't quite ready, like, I
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: just think they're a little more proven, like because last
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: year in Illinois did when Indiana did have to step up,
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: they did kind of get their butt whooped a little
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: bit versus Ohio and in that playoff game, uh now.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: They were not even close. Yeah.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: Now, I'm not saying that Indiana with Beilama is same
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: level as Ohio, say, but relatively I do think that.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: Sure.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'm just gonna take I'm gonna kind of
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: blind me take Illinois and go with that. Yeah. I'm
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: not a fan of that guy either. But aside from that,
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: as you know, no, there's a lot of coaches I
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: really don't like in Calle football.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: The seventeen that you list, there's not that many. There's
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: one hundred and thirty sixteen, So I mean you know
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: that's that's not that many. Really.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: Hey, if myerver comes back, you just let me know
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: then then then the emotions get pretty high. Yeah, I
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: will take the the Ali.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Could you imagine if he came back to USC, or
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: not came back, but came back to Colls football and
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: went to USC, you'd be so you wouldn't know what
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: to do.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: I know, I I would know. I would never I
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: would never cheer I could. I would never. I have
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: some standards in life. As much I love USC, I've
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: loved him since two thousand and three, I could never
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: cheer for that, man. I promise you that. Chris.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I'm just saying once we get to the
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: semi final, I'll ask you again. So you're you're healthy
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: like I feel good.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: I may.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna see how this line goes. But it is
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: in my against spread. I do think they can keep
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: it close either way if they they lose or win.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Illinois so plus four and a half I like it.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: I'll see where it goes. I wouldn't doubt if it
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: goes a little lower, So maybe I should jump on it.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Would you think it'll go a little lower or at
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: least stay the same. I don't think it'll go higher.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't think you'll touch seven or seven
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: and a half.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see. Yeah, I'm not.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: I'm not one of those guys that are afraid to
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: buy a little little, you know, a little something, even
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: if it means you know, minus one, one, three and
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: a half, three and a half. I don't because I
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: can find it for plus four and a half.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Still, Okay, Yeah, I think that's pretty good value.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but I am gonna go Illinois. I happened to
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: like Belama. Even though I don't really like him, I
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: respect him. I know that he didn't besides Bama. He
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: could play Bama really good at Arizona. I mean it's Arkansas,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: but uh, because remember that tight end and all that.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: That's crazy games. But you know, they couldn't do what
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: they he did in the Big Ten, that's for sure.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: But I just they brought so much talent back and
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: I just I think that this is their year to
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: get to the playoff. So I like because Michigan's down too,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: you know. There there's some other teams that are down
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: that that. So I think they got like sixteen or
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: seventeen starters back, you know, something like that. So I
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: like Illinois to win the game. So that is one
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: of those against the spread plus four and a half
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: that I'm definitely in Texas Tech, who I believe led
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: the portal pretty much every recruiting. I'm pretty or at
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: least one or two in there in Utah. Right, this
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: is a really interesting matchup. Both of them are running
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: the ball like mad dogs two fifteen two ninety Texas
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Texas throwing that thing around two three eighty seven. Utah
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: is giving up ninety on the ground compared to forty one.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: But it's early this Devin Danpierre does look the part
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: of a guy who can throw it some but also run,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: so a real dual threat and just take care of
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: the ball, you know, let us do the rest. You
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: make your plays here and there. We don't ask you to,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: you know, save the day. But they it looks like
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: they got they got themselves a quarterback. That's what it
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: looks like to me. But Morton is playing pretty good too.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: But you know, neither team. You know, maybe week one
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: low you could say UCLA, but I mean, you know
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: that obviously they're not good and they've got their ass
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: kicked anyway. Oregon State's way down this year, so they
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: haven't really played anybody. But it's at Ujah and I
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: just like Utah on this spot. So I'm I'm going
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: with Utah to get the job done. But I think
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: it's a great game. And it's it's a high noon
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: game right Central sense the time, yep. So it's funny
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: ever since Fox brought that back, now all of a sudden,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: we have good games high noon. ESPN's like, oh shit,
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: so you could actually give us a good game. Remember
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: not long ago, the eleven o'clock Windows Central time was
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: just kind of whole home you're hoping for, like good
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: fourth quarters, you know. Yeah, you wait till that two
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: thirty that'shit. Those days are gone, man. But yeah, I
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: like Utah in this spot just because of track record.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: To be honest with you, Texas Tech has a lot
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: of talent.
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: Though I do think that this is a huge spot
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: for Texas Tech. You put together quite a nice team financially,
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: but you have had They've always had that magic and
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: allure at and Lubbock. But this is a road game
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: and you're facing one to arguably the best coaches in
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: college football. Like, I know, he's maybe not going to
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: get the accolades and probably never coach at Alabama, but
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: woodn't have a Utah is one of the best guys
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: to ever coach college football. It's just he's maybe not
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: the most popular name. So in this situation, I will
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: take the coach over the talent. It once surprised me
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: of Texas Tech one, but I'll take Utah now that
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: they have a quarterback who they know that a quarterback
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: is and does that any drama for like the stuff
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: from last year with the dude that was here for
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: eight and a half years, I'll take I'll take the Utes.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: But this could be the best game of the day,
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: obnestly out of all potentially could be the best game
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: of the day.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: So curious, too big, kind of like that you know
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: at the beginning of the year. Anyway, Iowa State in
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: K State, whoever wins that hasn't up. Whoever win's this
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: has a big up. Yes in that race in the
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: Big twelve, true, yeah, for sure.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: And and if you're Texas Tech and you are trying
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: to make the playoffs this year. This could be all
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: those games like, hey, this is the one put on
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: the resume. If they pulled off, and it kind of
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: maybe shows that they're a legit team, not just a
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: team put together, but they If you would to win
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: to Utah, I don't care who they are, that that's
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: still a hell of a win no matter what.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, exactly, I agree. Hold on, sorry about that. Okay.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Miami the Miami the Miami Hurricanes versus Florida one and two.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: Florida by the way, you know you said it, their
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: defense is still fucking good. They're they're only giving up
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: eighty seven rushing yards and they've played people. They they've
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: already played tough teams. Now you can say Miami has
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: two to an extent. We'll see where Notre Dame ends up.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: But they're gonna they're gonna they're gonna contain the run.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: More than likely. It's still a rivalry, you know, Unlike
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: last week with Miami with South Florida coming up that
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: big win, knowing even last year they gave him a
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: game of the first half, they kind of knew, all right, dude,
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: this they're not. They got all of a sudden, it's
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: like a target, like they don't. They're not coming in
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: here all lucy goosey, like this team's coming to win.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: And they handled business last week with that. Now we're
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: gonna find out if they can handle business with Florida
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: coming in kind of limp it right now? Will they
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: let their guard down? Now? If you want to get
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: make the college football Playoff, you can't let you guard down.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: You could do it in the SEC and Big ten
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: because there's other big wins to be had and you're
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: just going against better town, you know, on average anyway.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: But I'm really interested to see what might like. I
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: would not be surprised if this is a winnable game
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: for both, like the games on the table with eight
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: minutes left, because honestly, the game was on the table
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: for Florida last week. It's just lagway. You know, odds
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: are he's not gonna throw four picks on third down
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: seven and a half points. I probably wouldn't touch it
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: either way. I don't think i'd touch it ultimately. I'm
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: I'm I am picking Miami, but this has got some
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: weirdness to it. You know, It's like I said, it's
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: a rivalry game. You're just like, man, I hope they
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: don't screw this up. And also, by the way, are
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: they looking ahead to Florida State? That's next week? By
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: the way, oh, actually that's their next game. I don't think.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: I think they gotta buy So I think if if
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: Miami is in fact a playoff caliber team, they need
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: to go ahead, even if it's a you know, a
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: field goal, you know whatever. Uh, last year they whooped them.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: A chunk of years ago, they they they lost a
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: really close game. Florida doesn't like to schedule Miami. I
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: don't know why. I mean, right now, they're good, but
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: overall they've been really on, you know, pretty mediocre considering
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: how much talent they have. So but Florida doesn't like
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: to do the non conference stuff. But to be fair,
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: right now, anyway, they have a tough enough uh you know, schedule.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: But they didn't always have that same schedule but they
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: have now. But yeah, I got I like Miami. But
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: maybe it's just me, uh like a knee jerk reaction
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: because you know, I've been here before, and all of
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: a sudden they lose a game they shouldn't blah, blah blah.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: It's a robbery. We just talked about West Virginia. People
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: get up for it, and now all of a sudden
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: they're coming in. I mentioned it Lucy Goosey like Lagway,
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: people are expecting to throw three picks again. Well, wonder
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: if he doesn't Wonder if he looks like he looked
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: like last year down the stretch. You know, I'm just
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: a little worried. But I wouldn't be. I wouldn't doubt
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: it if it's a if it's a competitive type game, man,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: I really wouldn't.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I as far as porta schedule is, they're not
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: gonna go like, they're not gonna lose all like seven
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: hard games in the world. They're gonna win a couple. Okay,
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: there is enough out there. Yeah, there will be that. Hey,
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: women for the coach or all the players kind of
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: team together, just like last year. Last year they had
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: a Bruce Ketchers. Soon they still find a ways to
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: win some games. Obviously, hope it's not against your team,
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: so speakers, right, Cole is that situation. He obviously wants
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: to win, he wants his gams to win. But but
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: could you be on the to flip the coin. Could
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: you see that losing again for sure? Like the offense
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: is clearly in kind of a free fall right now.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: So would it make logical sense for Miami to beat
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: the Florida Ganers. Yeah, so I again, this is another
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: kind of flip of the coin matchup. Again, I do
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: think that Miami's offense with the Georgia transferm jonal Blanker
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: now is just it's it's consistent. It's consistent. He's I
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: can get rap, you know back. Yeah, and obviously the
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: defense is made progress. Maybe not quite as much of
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: a dress as flip as LSU, but they're playing better football.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: So overall, Hey, I do think that Miami wins. I'm
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: with you. I went touch of seven and a half.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: Maybe by six and a half or maybe seven, but
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: that's seven and a half. The year's dying for like
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: a backdoor cover or some crazy play to happen, or hey,
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: Miami wins by seven, may you lose by half a point?
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: That'd be a tough bet to lose, my friend.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it really would, it really would. There's other teams,
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: you know, Nebraska, is Nebraska ready to turn the corner? Well,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: they got Michigan coming up. Smu at TCU. We talked
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: about oh Miss and TWU Lane a little bit, ASU Baylor.
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: Whoever wins that keeps their their hopes alive. Iowa Ruggers
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: at at Rutgers. That's the Fox primetime game. Ruggers have
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: has actually been putting up a lot of points. I
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: doubt they'll do that against that Iowa defense, but well,
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: they have enough offense. I'm looking at that. I will
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: say this, I am looking at that plus seven with
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: s m U against the spread and going hmm, I wonder,
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: you know, if if they can't cover that, and because
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: they can move the ball. And they lost the Baylor
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: but it was, uh, you know, a very close game
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: that could have went either way obviously. So there are
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: some other kind of game flying under the radar. Michigan,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: at least on the Fox Sports app is two two
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: and a half point favorites at Nebraska. So there there's
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: the under the radar. There's they're full of good games,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: man under the radar. Uh.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: The one I'll probably lean to bet towards UCF minus
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: six and a half versus North Carolina. I mean, I
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: don't know shaking that what that that game vers TCU
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: out I don't know, if UCF is a decent team,
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: I feel Carolina maybe you could finish the year better.
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: But right now I was still like Carolina on the road.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: I think that's a pretty nice spot for UCF to
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: maybe get a nice win, just because that that Carolina
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: game vers TCU was not pretty and you can't you
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: can't change all that one night either, So I'll be
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: I'll be taking the UCF Knights and versus the my tardios.
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: I'm atario basketball fan, never been a football guy.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: Sarahcuse plus seventeen versus Clemson. I'm just saying. I'm just saying, okay.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: And then West Virginia plus thirteen and a half, now,
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: you know, coming off that big Now it's at Kansas. Well,
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: we know Kansas defens isn't all that great, so if
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: they can run the ball and hold the ball, you
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: know that usually bodes well to keep that offense on
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: the on the sidelines. So I don't, I don't know
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: that I'm looking at I haven't, I haven't made you know,
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: the these bets per se, but I but I am
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: looking at Quston, West Virginia as as plus numbers, those
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: are some of the other two you know, against the
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: spread bets that I keeping an eye on. Also, Dude,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: I just looked at this plus fifteen and a half
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: for Stanford for Virginia. Virginia looks explosive. Stanford just actually
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: pulled off an upset. So I don't know, I'm kind
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: of looking at that. I just noticed that, but I
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: haven't put any betdown or anything. How are you thinking
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: about your boys? The Trojans USC now seventeen and a
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: half point favorites. That's my last against the spread that
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: I just realized I didn't write down plus seventeen and
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: a half against Michigan State. Michigan State's not where they
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: were five years ago. We know that, but we don't
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: know for a fact of USC's all the way back
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: either yet.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: Ah, you know they I think USC just really be produce,
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: not barely, but they be Purdue by like eighteen. And
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: Purdue is kind of one of those teams that lost
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: like a ton ton of kids from last year. So
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: if you be Purdue by eighteen, Sparty's guy bredam purdueing theories.
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: So I don't know. I think that this USC team.
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: People say their offense looks nice this year, which is nice,
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: like usual for Lincoln, but they got to play a
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: real team Sparty might be the first kind of test
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: this year, but they still got to get their feet wet,
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: kind of in the the deep riend of the pool.
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: So I'd be nervous to take them for now, just
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: because I've not seen them at top tier level team
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: quite yet. And I I apologize your wrong numbers. In
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: my head, I thought that Miami was like minus six
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: and a half. Their their minus three on ESPN versus Florida.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: I had the wrong number. Three. Yeah, yeah, holy yeah,
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: So yeah, I dig that Vegas is telling you to Yeah,
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: Miami minus three over under fifty two and a half.
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: I'll take the Hurricanes minus three versus Florida at home
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: for sure.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: But at least, you know, at least I'm not way
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: off for being nervous because they have half. That sounds
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: you something.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: God, I had seven in my head, So I apologize
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: to the wrong numbers.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: That's what I've seen. I haven't seen no three. I
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: haven't seen a three.
- 1:23:49Speaker 6: So well, damn okay that that that'll be interesting. That yeah, huh,
- 1:23:58Speaker 6: that's interesting.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: Is it? Is it that time of the week, my friend?
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: Well, yes, yes it is.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: Well, okay, so the crafty craft picked the week. Hey,
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: they got a dub last week. Okay, thank you, f
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: I U. They may have one of the worst basketball
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: programs in the country, but that doesn't matter. We're talking
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: college football and my boy got off the schneid. So
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: we are going to the sun Belt, the sun Belt.
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: Yeah all right. So a couple weeks ago, I got
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: to saying country roads take me home. Now I get
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: to reference. I guess just I'm just gonna make this
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: segment about me this year in my personal favorite stuff,
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: and let you pick this week. I'm going to a
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: school we're arguably one of my No, I'm not arguably
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: my favorite. For a player of all time played there
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: that was not a quarterback. Randy Moss, a good old
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: farm boy from West Virginia. His Marshall Thundering Herd are
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: going to Middle Tennessee play to play the Blue Raiders.
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: The game is that six pm is on ESPN Plus.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: It's on September twentieth. The Marshall Herd are one and two.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: The Middle Testy Blue Raiders are one and two. The ESPN.
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna throw this on you phone, see I throw
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: it on me. The ESPN analytics matchup predictor. I think
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: they've changed the name a little bit. Shows that they
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: have They have a sixty nine chance that the Marshall
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: Thundering Herd win the game. But the spread, Chris is
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: only Marshall heard on the road as three and a
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: half point favorites. I'll tell you what, the the alumni
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: battle is not going to be close this week. I'll
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: let you go to the football game first.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: Well, you know this new Fox Sports. Uh, they've they've
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: really added to their game matchup stuff because I got
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: head to head all of a sudden. Now that some
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: of this stuff dates way back to like eighteen and
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: all that. Sure, the last time that they played was
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: in twenty one and it was thirty four to twenty
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: eight Middle Tennessee. But there's been some there's been some
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: tight games in here. Okay. So, and they have this
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: stat that says the quarterback Zion Turner didn't throw a
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: pass in a victory against Eastern Eastern Kentucky. That's kind
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: of crazy. They won thirty eighty seven. I'm assuming he
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: got in there late. Nope, that's their starting quarterback. Okay,
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: So they won a game Marshall where he was oh
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: for oh, that's crazy, dude, that is crazy. I got
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: a note that for for whoever hell that was if
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: they make it in there. But you know, Marshall, when
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: you're up at twenty one point seven points per game,
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: that's pretty good offensively, okay, whereas Middle Tennessee only twelve
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: point seven. They're passing the ball pretty well, but they
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: only rushed the ball for sixty yards a game and
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: they give up a buck sixty eight, whereas you know,
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: on the flip side, one seventy seven per game, and
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: Marshall's done pretty good at stopping the run. Now, the
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: old way to that I would pick these games is
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: look who they played in the non conference, okay, and
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: if they played a better team to kind of get
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: them used to it, that's what I would go with. Well,
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: Middle Tennessee played Wisconsin, they were a plus twenty eight
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: and a half. They lost forty two to ten. However,
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: in the first game of the season, Marshall went against Georgia.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: Now they get their ass whooped, but they win against Georgia, okay,
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: And to me, if you can win a game without
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: throwing a ball, that's pretty good to me. And also
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: they are and they have the third most sacks n
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: D one. That's enough for me. Wow, it's enough for me.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: I have the Randy Moss lead. No, I they'd be
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: they'd have a better spread. Marshall thundering herd going with Marshall,
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: my friend. Let's see if we can get it going.
