- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Welcome back to Around the Pod ATP, the Australia's favourite pickleball podcast.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: We've got a mini episode today.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: We're going to be talking about the MLP Australia draft and I guess the season coming up.
- 0:11SPEAKER_02: I'm going to speak about a few of the teams.
- 0:13SPEAKER_02: I know I was a part of it as a GM for the Melbourne Thunder, and it was a really good night, and it's a lot of big players to talk about.
- 0:20SPEAKER_02: Obviously, the biggest name, the number one draft pick was Harry Brown, who got selected by Joey Wilde, Brisbane Breakers, who's the captain of Brisbane.
- 0:28SPEAKER_02: Mitch Hargrave's captain of Sydney Smash.
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: The Coasters captain is Danielle Townsend, who's obviously been playing amazing in the US.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: And most improved player.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: Most improved player, MIP.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: Dallas Flash over in the US.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: Gold Coast Glory, Sarah Burr, one of a few captains that have been there since the very beginning.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: So you've got the Gold Coast team.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: Sarah Burr was there at the beginning of MLP.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: OG, Mitch Hargraves, OG as well.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: Pacific Flame, a new team as well.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: Sarah Denahee.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: Let's go with Sarah.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Huge name.
- 0:59SPEAKER_02: And then Melbourne Thunder, Zach Grabovic.
- 1:03SPEAKER_03: Good fellow at that Zach Grabovic guy.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: Huge step up with their captain for this year, the Melbourne team.
- 1:09SPEAKER_03: And then is it controversial that uh the captain of Melbourne Thunder isn't even in Melbourne?
- 1:17SPEAKER_03: Thoughts?
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: When selected, he was in Melbourne.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: Loophole.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: He is Melbourne through and through, though.
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: And you got Jason Taylor, the captain of the Bondi Pickleball Club, who obviously Rose Van Reek was the captain last year, and they won literally like four or five of the events last year.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: So big shoes to fill.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: He's part of the family, though.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: He's dating Rose's sister.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: So he's the second best pickleballer in that family.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: We're having a good conversation about it the other night.
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: And then you got Andy D, the captain of the Northern Crocs, who have had some immense um wins as well.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: Look, let's talk about the Brisbane Breakers.
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: Joey Wilde, Harry Brown, Brittany Yang, Kat Bellos.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: Good team, that.
- 1:59SPEAKER_03: That's a very good team.
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: Solid.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: Like, where do you guys think they rank?
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Probably out of those eight teams.
- 2:05SPEAKER_03: I don't know the others.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go top three.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go Adam Lindsay top three here.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: I reckon they're gonna be right up there.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: I mean, they're gonna be finals.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think it's hard to go past that.
- 2:18SPEAKER_03: The men's team, especially.
- 2:19SPEAKER_03: I think that's a really stacked men's side.
- 2:21SPEAKER_03: And um, I mean, for me, it'd be interesting to see who plays left, who plays right.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: I think early days we're looking at Harry Brown playing right.
- 2:30SPEAKER_03: Um, lanky dude, he's been playing a lot of left side, so it'd be quite good to see him on the right.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: Well, if you think about Joey Wilde's results, like in the US, he's just played MLP over there, shown himself really well with the California Black Bears.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: Um, shout out Jimmy Miller.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: We love his podcast too.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: But um, let's mean Joey's probably the top male or one of the top males in the MLP and one of the best players in Australia.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: So if you pair him with the number one draft pick, Harry Brown, who let's uh let's be honest, like he's still up and coming and winning PPA golds.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: He's only gonna keep getting better at doubles.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: He's a really good singles player.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: Him and Lucas Pasco have won a couple of PPA golds this year indoors as well, where all these MLP events are going to be indoors as well.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: You've got Melbourne next week, 18th to the 20th of September.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: You've got Gold Coast, you've got Brisbane, and then you've got the Sydney finals.
- 3:23SPEAKER_03: Will he wear a bucket hat indoors?
- 3:26SPEAKER_03: Is my main question.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: I haven't seen him wear one indoors, but I would love to see it.
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: You know, Connor Pardot is obviously calling out him and players wearing bucket hats, uh, which was funny.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: I'm all for the bucket hat.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: I'm a I'm a big bucket hat fan.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: I reckon it's a plus 0.1 duper, in all honesty, Joey.
- 3:43SPEAKER_03: Might have to do it.
- 3:43SPEAKER_03: Do you want a bucket hat?
- 3:44SPEAKER_03: Bucket hat.
- 3:45SPEAKER_03: Do you have a super?
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: Put a bumpy duper up.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: It's win-win.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: It's win-win.
- 3:51SPEAKER_03: You know what?
- 3:51SPEAKER_03: I played a I played a tournament recently a couple weeks ago, and I took a photo and sent it straight to Joey.
- 3:56SPEAKER_03: There was a dude wearing a bucket hat in Raya itself, and I said, You've started a movement, mate.
- 4:01SPEAKER_03: He has, he's all for it.
- 4:02SPEAKER_03: So, Joey, that photo was at Raya.
- 4:04SPEAKER_03: You've got to do it now.
- 4:06SPEAKER_03: True.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: Like this man, if you think about his results, I think all his biggest match wins are probably with a bucket hat as well.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna follow, follow him.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: Um, Brittany Yang, New Zealand player.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: Um, I know she's come into the PPA scene recently, um, and she's got some decent results.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: I know she played with Mitch Hargraves at a pro event in Melbourne, the PPA, and they what uh maybe not the Melbourne event, the New Zealand event as well.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: And I think they made a quarterfinal or a semifinal.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: So she can play.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: Um, and obviously Kat Vellos, a Victorian as well, which you play a lot with, uh Josh.
- 4:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Kat's a good player.
- 4:39SPEAKER_03: Uh, I'm sure she'll hold her own there.
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: And um, yeah, she's in a she found herself in a really good team, so happy for her there.
- 4:45SPEAKER_03: And yeah, she's working really hard.
- 4:47SPEAKER_03: So hopefully uh she plays well.
- 4:49SPEAKER_03: It'd be interesting to see.
- 4:50SPEAKER_03: I don't know too much about Britney, so it'd be interesting to see who plays left and right.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: I know Kat's been working on both sides, which um is a bit of her versatility too.
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know Britney's played a few challenges in the US, and I don't know, I think she mainly plays the right side, so you might see Vallas on the left.
- 5:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, shout out Team Friday, by the way.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: Big shout out.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: Big shout-out game.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: Um, but I think you're right.
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: I think I I wouldn't I would imagine you'd see Harry Brown on the right.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: He played amazing, I think, in Shanghai with Mitch when they nearly beat Len Yang and Colin Johns, played huge right.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: Like Len Yang's got one of the nastiest flicks in the game, backhand flicks from the left.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: And Harry Brown was just able to counter it over and over and over again.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: So I think Joey and Harry might be the men's team to beat at MLP this year.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: Um, we'll move on to the Sydney smash.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: Mitch Hargraves.
- 5:40SPEAKER_03: Your mate, your best mate.
- 5:41SPEAKER_03: He's a good player.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: One of my mates, OG.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: Um, he's won many Australian titles, won um lots of matches at PPA's golds in Australia, and he's done really well in Asia this year as well.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: Um, he's played a few in the US, and he's teamed up with Joey Farius, who played on the Melbourne Mavericks last year.
- 5:59SPEAKER_02: Um, incredible player, a lot of experience, and we got to interview him on the pod.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: This man's only a he's probably the only player on this list that's beaten Ben Johnson.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, former world number one.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: There you go, that's huge.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: Um, and then you've got Kat Westbury, who was on the Bondi team last year, who had who had a lot of success, and then you've got Shannon Spencer.
- 6:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, had a bit of time with Shannon Spencer.
- 6:19SPEAKER_03: Um, she's yeah, she's a good player, she's growing, and uh obviously her name is growing as well.
- 6:24SPEAKER_03: She's um playing a lot more as well, and yeah, her improvement's been pretty rapid this year.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, going off like seeing her recently at some pro events, like her right side's so strong, she's got a consistent forehand ding, she can speed up, um, and obviously her singles is really good.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: That's going to be valuable for a dream breaker because, like in the MLP format, you play the men's doubles, you play the women's doubles, you play both mixed.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: If it's 2-2 after all of that, you play Dream Breaker, which is rally scoring to 21.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: Um, so sometimes the singles is really important.
- 6:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she's she's pretty unassuming.
- 6:58SPEAKER_03: Uh, she's a bit of a pardon this, a bit of a hee-hee ha ha human, just cutesy vibes, and then she just goes bang.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: She's a bit of an assassin.
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: So um, shout out to you, Shannon.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: All the best for the yeah, I think she's won a bronze medal this year, or she made a bronze medal game in a PPA pro event too.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: And then she's done silvers at some other pro events as well.
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: Um, look, I think that team is actually looking really strong.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: I imagine Kat Westbury will play on the left.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: She's been practicing that.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: And then Mitch and Joey will probably play pretty big when it comes to the mixed as well.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: Um, the coasters, Danny Townsend, that's everyone's favourite in the US.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: Like huge.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: We've always been huge fans of her in Australia.
- 7:38SPEAKER_02: I'm glad like on the global scale now, like everyone gets to see her personality and her playstyle because she's one of a few females in the world that plays aggressive at the line, hits the ball out of the air, quick, quick as hands.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: And that's me.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: I think she's a 6-0 duper now.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: There's not many um females in the world that are over 6-0 besides those top 10, 15 females.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: Um, so she's teamed up with Roman Estera.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: He's played MLP previously, he's um from the US.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: Ryan Henry um won an Australian championships in singles, and he's played some MLP the last couple years, um, really good on the right, and you got Taya Cross as well.
- 8:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so that one's interesting to me.
- 8:17SPEAKER_03: So I obviously know a little bit about Roman and a bit about Ryan Henry.
- 8:21SPEAKER_03: That's seemingly like a more aggressive right sider and a more defensive left sider if he has to play left, Roman.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think I don't know.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: I assume they're gonna have to put Ryan on the left there, and then let Roman do he sing on the right.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: Roman's biggest asset is his defense and making a lot of balls.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: And that's mean he's got power when he's got it.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't know if he's got more of an aggressive play style now.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: I haven't seen him play for about 12 months, but he's been playing a lot in Asia.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: Ryan Henry's developed that forehand speed up and the right.
- 8:49SPEAKER_03: One of the biggest forehand drives I've ever seen.
- 8:50SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 8:51SPEAKER_03: In warm-ups.
- 8:52SPEAKER_03: I've he's very he hits it very big in a warm-up.
- 8:55SPEAKER_03: I'd I was waking up and he's just smacking straight out of my chest.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: He hits it pretty big in a match, too, and uh a really good intellectual when it comes to pickleball.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: I know Mitch speaks to him a lot, even though Ryan's been in pickleball for a less amount of time.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: He was a ranked tennis player, and I know he's got his little book he writes notes for when they leading up into matches.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: So um just been very smart player.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: And then Taya Cross, part of the Apex Academy, and she's just up and coming.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: She filled she played for the Gold Coast Glory last year with Sarah Burr.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: She's getting better and better and better.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: I think it's a great opportunity for her to play with Danny, who they're friends, so I think there's going to be some good team chemistry there as well.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: All right, Gold Coast Glory.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: Sarah Burr has been the goat of pickleball in Australia.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: She's been around for so long, won so many medals, and has represented Australia in multiple ways in pickleball.
- 9:44SPEAKER_02: She's teamed up with another two other lefties, Jamie Haas, Vish, Massand, and then you've got Liam Jespo, who's only brighty.
- 9:52SPEAKER_03: You got four lefties on that team.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: But I think that's been that team is interesting because you've got the three lefties.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: Okay, so the women's double is going to be all lefties.
- 10:02SPEAKER_02: You got, I reckon that Sarah's gonna play with Vish in mix, they play a lot together at some of these PPAs, and then you've got Jespo, who has obviously been playing Unreal Pickleball the last six months since he's joined the academy and playing every day.
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: What do you think?
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: What do you think, Josh, out of that team?
- 10:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think obviously um I'm not too sure much about uh Vish Masan's game and Jamie.
- 10:25SPEAKER_03: Is it Jamie Haas?
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: Jamie Haas.
- 10:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I've never seen Jamie.
- 10:28SPEAKER_03: I've heard a lot about Jamie's game, but uh obviously she's a mainstay in MLP, so big name, and obviously I think she'll she'll do pretty well.
- 10:37SPEAKER_03: And you got Sarah and her, but I'm I know Sarah is a pretty good defensive player, so um Jamie's gonna have to do a bit fair bit of offense.
- 10:44SPEAKER_03: I'm sure Sarah can still hit some offense, but um I think from what I'm hearing, it's primarily a defensive side.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think it's gonna be hard to get the ball passed.
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: I'm like Liam's probably their most aggressive player there.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: And Sarah and Jamie have had really good results in Asia playing together.
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: I know they made a PPA Asia final, um, and then Vish and Sarah have made like a semifinal quarterfinal.
- 11:05SPEAKER_02: I think they lost against Summer and Zach at the last PPA event.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: But Vish he used to play a lot of MLP, unassuming, very good hands, very good um at just making balls.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: Um he's played with Joey Wilde before as well, early on for the Eastern Rush back in the day.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: And Katie Hart was the captain of that team, so that's a throwback.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: Some big names in there, common names here.
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: Um big team here, all right.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: One of my teams I think might win it all.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: The Melbourne Thunder.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: All right, captained by Zach Graboic, and and I've been able to help him with the team as well, which was uh amazing for me to, I guess, help Zach with his first MLP season.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: And that's me, he's a top, top player and he's getting amazing results.
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: And he's teamed up with Tom Prozek, who's a US PPA signed player.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: He's got some good results against people that play premier over in the US.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: So he's played a lot of US PPA being coaching the last three or four months.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: He's from Germany.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Um B.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: Horsley, Victorian, and Arya Henare.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Henare, yeah.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: She's Victorian as well.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: I'm only 16 years old.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: She'd be the youngest person in MLP this season.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: Um, that's meant.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: I'm happy with team.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: What do you guys think about that team?
- 12:23SPEAKER_03: Well, you drafted a blitzy, or you were part of the draft, so you're not allowed to say anything, man.
- 12:28SPEAKER_03: Uh I reckon bottom two.
- 12:32SPEAKER_02: Just quite.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: This is my last pod.
- 12:36SPEAKER_03: No, I think it's a it's a really strong team.
- 12:38SPEAKER_03: And obviously, you've got uh Tom's a 6-0.
- 12:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, that's that's really strong and paired up with Zach, who I think when a few couple of years ago before he started playing in Melbourne, he was a 6-0 as well.
- 12:48SPEAKER_03: So that's that's a really strong men's pair.
- 12:50SPEAKER_03: And obviously, B's done it all.
- 12:53SPEAKER_03: Um, she's had some big results in 2025, 2026 as well.
- 12:57SPEAKER_03: Um, and yeah, really strong right side game.
- 13:00SPEAKER_03: And Aria's gonna have to step up this year, and uh I'm excited for her.
- 13:04SPEAKER_03: She's a really good prospect.
- 13:05SPEAKER_03: I've played a bit with Aria, I've got a lot of time for Aria, one of the best juniors, and just a good human too.
- 13:11SPEAKER_03: And I just really hope uh she learns a lot from this season, but can also perform pretty well, and she's got some good guidance.
- 13:17SPEAKER_03: You got an American pro there, you got Zach and also B, who's gonna step aside with her and show her the ropes too, which is really, really exciting.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: I think what I liked about this team is we got what three Victorians, even though Zach lives on the Gold Coast now.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: Um, but Tom Prozek, we didn't think we had the I think the number six pick um in the drafts, but it's been like a month now.
- 13:39SPEAKER_02: But uh Tom, we did not think it was gonna be left to that stage because you had Harry go, you had Jamie Haas go, you had um uh Ryan Henry went before Tom Prozek as well, I believe.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: And I think Lucas Pascoe as well.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: We didn't think Tom would get there, and he was like one of the high-the duper there.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: He's got some really good results overseas.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: I think the biggest thing for him was that we just had to guarantee he's gonna actually be there for all these events.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: And he he he messaged and he said, Yeah, I'm gonna be there, he's gonna be living close by, he's gonna be playing all the Asia events.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: So I was like, that's a plus.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: And Zach was super keen to play with him.
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: Um, because remember, Zach is the alpha male of the team as the captain, but he plays on the right.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: So you can get another really good player that's happy playing on the left.
- 14:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and guess what?
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: That left side guy can also be big in the mix.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: So I think we have a strong men's doubles team, one of the best there.
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: And then B brings so much good energy to a team.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: Like she's had a lot of success in multiple leagues.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: She's won an MLP title last year, Bondi Pickleball Club.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: She filled in for the Melbourne Mavericks twice, filled in for Bondi, and beat Melbourne Mavericks in the final last year.
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: So at least someone that's been part of the She got some intel on you, didn't she?
- 14:49SPEAKER_03: Very good.
- 14:50SPEAKER_03: Very smart.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: Hit the ball to Blitzy.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: Um, and then Aria, obviously, like you mentioned, that's been 16 years old.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: Um, she I feel like she's just gonna get better and better and better, but she is comfortable in the left.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: And we find a female later in the draft that was happy to play on the left with Zach.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: So just mean going to this season, it's gonna be pretty clear that Zach and Aria will play together.
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: B and Tom will play together.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: B can't make the first event because of a wedding, a prior engagement.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: So we've got Emily Martin filling in, who's a lefty, which would be a really good Melbourne player, um, who I play a lot of mixed with as well.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: Where we talked about it as a team, and we think Emily would be the right fit for this weekend.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: She's used to the conditions and indoors, and um, she's done really well lately.
- 15:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Emma's playing really, really well, and she's um her game's developed a lot in the last couple of months, and um yeah, I'm sure she'll be ready for this step up.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: It's been and then it's been she's excited just and then to see how the team goes the rest of the year.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: Like it and B's super excited.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: She loved it.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: I gave her a call after we drafted her.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: She's like, this is awesome.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: I love being on the Melbourne team.
- 15:51SPEAKER_02: Um so she feels like it's hard.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: She is so well.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: Hopefully she's actually enjoying it.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: Um next one, Bondi Pickleball Club, a lot of history.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: Won what four MLP titles.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: Actually, won the MLP finals at the end of last year.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: Purple Jesus, Kat Westbury, Louis Laville.
- 17:25SPEAKER_02: So it's going to be huge now for Jason Taylor to fill those shoes that had a team with Rose Van Reek.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: Um, so he's got Katie Hart.
- 17:33SPEAKER_02: I think they were the third pick.
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: She was the third pick in the draft.
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: You've got Katie Morris, so that's the international player from the UK, top female.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: And then you've got Ethan Chung.
- 17:43SPEAKER_03: Mark Chung Chummy Jungus.
- 17:45SPEAKER_03: Yes, what a guy.
- 17:47SPEAKER_03: Um yeah.
- 17:48SPEAKER_03: I mean, is it Jason Taylor pickleball, tennis?
- 17:52SPEAKER_03: We'll see what he comes out with.
- 17:53SPEAKER_03: But um is he gonna protect his ranking?
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: What day of his protective ranking is he got to do?
- 17:59SPEAKER_03: He just changed his Instagram handle, didn't he?
- 18:02SPEAKER_03: He might have to protect that duper for a little sec too.
- 18:05SPEAKER_02: Protected duper.
- 18:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, protected duper, just hold it there.
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: He might rise it though, but um, no, it's it's really exciting, and I'm just really happy for Ethan.
- 18:14SPEAKER_03: I think it's a really good feel-good story.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: Uh I don't know if you guys know much about this story, but um yeah, I at the start of the year I got messaged by one of my good mates, and he said, Oh, one of my mates, Ethan,'s just playing all these social leagues, but he really wants to get better and wants to learn.
- 18:30SPEAKER_03: And all I had to ask was, Are you a good bloke?
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: And he was like, Yeah, he's one of the best.
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: So we drilled for about two months, and he he actually said to me that he'd love to just make a leagues division two, and for him to play in multiple division ones um this year alone, and that's all within six months.
- 18:50SPEAKER_03: Um, massive credit to him and the work he's put in.
- 18:53SPEAKER_03: And yeah, I'm just super proud of him.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: He's he's done really, really well.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: That's huge in such a short space of time.
- 18:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's put in a lot of work.
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: I think he actually may have stopped his full-time job for a little sex.
- 19:03SPEAKER_03: So that's the key to success.
- 19:05SPEAKER_03: The full-time pickle, he might he might have protected ranking his tennis as well, and that's a commonality.
- 19:10SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think that's what's um amazing about Chungy, he's just got better and better and better over time.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: And yeah, I think he wasn't working for a period of that time, which meant he could train a lot.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: He's got to play with a lot of good pros and get a lot of good learning.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: Thanks, Clitzy.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: Thanks, Clinton.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: Um, you got to play with Josh too.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: Sorry, mate.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: I spent it's like the start of this year.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: I remember just having hit with him at Pickle Hollick, and he's like, Oh, he was just so happy to hit with like some of us guys that are pros.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: And look at him now, like he's just like skyrocketed.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: He's known as a really top right side guy, really good counters, everything.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: Now he's playing a lot of the left, developing that side too.
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: And I I think I feel like Jason would have talked to him about that.
- 19:53SPEAKER_03: Um, I know he's recently started playing left with Butson, uh, and that was a a change I didn't really expect because I know how good Chung he is on the on the right, but obviously I think they've premeditated that, or Jason's probably told him you need to get better on the left, and yeah, he's playing some really good left.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: Well, I think they were just playing on this this past weekend.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: I saw over in Asia somewhere playing.
- 20:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they played a Teams comp in Malaysia in um Penang, and they're playing the PPA together this weekend.
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, that's that's been great to see.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: That's been Jason Taylor, he's literally his name in my phone is Big Right Side Guy.
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: That's been that's he plays huge on the right, and then you got another really good right side guy.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be interesting to see.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: So I think yeah, Chung will probably play on the left, JT will play big right.
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: Um, I think that's gonna be a sneaky good pairing because a lot of people didn't know who Ethan Chung was before this draft, besides the Victorians.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: Chang you.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: I know um all about Chungy, and it's just amazing to see that he's made MLP premier.
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: Um, and I think Chungy is definitely in this mix and he's gonna prove himself this season.
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: I just think based on his projections of how how quickly he's risen, like who knows where he goes by the end of this season.
- 21:07SPEAKER_03: Obviously, playing with some really, really top players at 6-0, and he's currently just enjoying Malaysia at the moment.
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: And we spoke a bit, and he he just can't believe all the people he's meeting.
- 21:17SPEAKER_03: And the more he meets, the more he grows.
- 21:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm excited to see where he goes.
- 21:22SPEAKER_03: But obviously, I've just glazed him enough.
- 21:24SPEAKER_03: So um the female side in here is pretty strong, too.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say Katie Hart, Katie Hart, Katie Morris, Katie's um, I've got a lot of time for Katie Hart.
- 21:33SPEAKER_03: I think she's such a good player, such a good human.
- 21:36SPEAKER_03: And um, yeah, I'm really excited to see what she does this season as well.
- 21:39SPEAKER_03: And obviously playing with Katie Morris.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: That's that's a really good right side, left side player combo.
- 21:46SPEAKER_03: Two you're talking about a um, who was it?
- 21:49SPEAKER_03: It was Zach and Tom.
- 21:50SPEAKER_03: I think this is the female equivalent of it.
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's been Katie Morris probably will play on the left because Katie Hart's a lefty.
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: But it's been you got Jason Taylor, who was a captain last year, Katie Hart, who was a captain the last two years.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: That's mean you got two previous or two current MLP captains teaming up together as well.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: That's experience that you might not get on some of these other teams.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: And Katie Morris, who played a lot with George Wool last year and the Brisbane Breakers, played the played on the left, and she got better and better as the season went on, too.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: I think playing over here.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: And this means she's the top UK player right now on the women's side and in Europe.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: See, she's winning events all the time, really good at singles as well, which some of this is going to be really important, especially when those matchups are really tight.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: Um, second last team we'll speak about is the Pacific Flame.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: So you got Sarah Denehy is the captain, straight from the California Black Bears back to Australia.
- 22:43SPEAKER_02: Lucas Pasco, multiple PPA gold medalists this year in men's doubles.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: B Massey, it's been played for the Sydney Smash last year, um, playing some really good pickleball.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: And who's the last person on the team?
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: You wanted to give him a shout out?
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: I have no idea.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: What's his name?
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, I can't remember.
- 23:01SPEAKER_03: It looks like Nicola.
- 23:03SPEAKER_03: Nicola Maligani.
- 23:05SPEAKER_03: Never heard.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: As a guy, we we say too much in this poll.
- 23:10SPEAKER_02: That's why.
- 23:10SPEAKER_02: But Nick Mel, he's in the squad, and I think a really good opportunity.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: He was in the Melbourne Mavericks um Challenger team last year and was probably the top male in Challenger.
- 23:21SPEAKER_02: So it's really good to see he's made this squad.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: Sarah Denahi is probably outside of Danny, it's probably going to be probably the top female in this MLP, I guess.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: Especially for the singles as well, right?
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: And she'll play on the left, which is good.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: I think we spoke about this before as well.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: If you're a female captain in this draft, you are doing really well because the men's captains couldn't really draft a female as good as these top female captains.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: Like you're not going to draft someone as good as Danny or Sarah.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: So they've already got kind of a bit of a leg up.
- 23:55SPEAKER_02: But I think Lucas Pasco, does mean his hands are unbelievable and he's only getting better and better and better as well.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: What do you think of that team, Josh?
- 24:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think it's really strong.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: And the thing I thought about there was I was lucky enough to play one match under Sarah as a captain.
- 24:12SPEAKER_03: And just a legend of a captain, super chill vibes.
- 24:15SPEAKER_03: And I think that, especially under pressure, she's as good as it gets.
- 24:19SPEAKER_03: Um, and I'm I was actually thinking about mixed doubles pairings there in terms of you got two fiery humans and Nick and B.
- 24:27SPEAKER_03: I think from what I've seen of B, I don't know B as well, but you've got Lucas who's as calm as it gets on a court.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: I don't think I've seen much expression out of him.
- 24:36SPEAKER_03: Uh he's very yeah, he's very calm, he's very stoic.
- 24:39SPEAKER_03: And you got Sarah, so I don't know if she's gonna go one one calm in the storm and um one tornado, or where they're just two calms and two fiery.
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: That's gonna be interesting, but just a really, really strong, well-rounded team.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think you're right there.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: Uh it'd be interesting to see what they do with the mixed doubles combos, but I think Sarah and Lucas are not losing mixed doubles if you put them together.
- 25:03SPEAKER_02: But then B and Nick doesn't mean that they're a solid second team.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: But I don't know if some teams are gonna try and put their best female with their their second male and see what happens because Sarah Dennis is so good in that situation.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: So it'll be interesting to see.
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: Um, I guess last team, Northern Crocs, another team that wins quite a few MLP championships with Andy um as the captain.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: That's mean she was under summer Dalabonno a few years ago and then's just taken the Crocs to another level.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: She's a good captain, great captain.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: And you got Pryson Haas, who's obviously the husband of Jamie Haas, and they're both Hawaiian.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: Um, really good right side guy.
- 25:40SPEAKER_02: Played for the Northern Crocs last year um and played some really good pickleball.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: And you got Talia Saunders, um, who's elevated her game as well over the last 12 months, and then Dan Fogle.
- 25:52SPEAKER_03: The fog.
- 25:53SPEAKER_03: What a guy.
- 25:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's uh he's playing some good pickle too, actually.
- 25:57SPEAKER_03: Dan he's he's obviously focused a lot on his right side and um yeah, his level's really, really good at the moment.
- 26:03SPEAKER_03: Um, so really happy he got a spot on the team.
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: You I think he's been playing a little bit more left now as well.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: Like he's known as a right side guy.
- 26:11SPEAKER_02: Pryson is known as a right side guy.
- 26:13SPEAKER_02: So I'll be interested to see who plays on the left there.
- 26:16SPEAKER_02: Price isn't as aggressive.
- 26:17SPEAKER_02: I've played him in MLP the last few years, but Fogle as well is probably leaning to more be the aggressive one on the left side.
- 26:25SPEAKER_02: So it'd be interesting to see what they do.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: They might just play straight up or try and switch things around because the MLP format this season is going to be like the US.
- 26:32SPEAKER_02: So they're gonna play normal scoring to 11.
- 26:35SPEAKER_02: Um, while previously it used to be to 21 rally scoring.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think it's just a dream breaker that stays as being the um rally scoring.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, I think Andy and Tali are gonna be rock solid too.
- 26:46SPEAKER_02: I mean, Andy's built for the left, she plays so well there.
- 26:49SPEAKER_02: I know she plays a lot of mixed with Zach because she loves playing on the left.
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: Um so Tali has been a rock solid on the right as well.
- 26:55SPEAKER_02: So I think there's a lot of very good teams in this eight.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: Who do we think's gonna take it out this year?
- 27:03SPEAKER_02: Who's gonna take the three?
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: You're gonna start with top three?
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: Top three.
- 27:09SPEAKER_02: Okay, Melbourne, Melbourne, Melbourne.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: Yep, that's enough from Blitzy.
- 27:15SPEAKER_02: You go for it.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: You guys go, you guys go.
- 27:19SPEAKER_02: I'm a steeper.
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: Every episode has has Juzzy gone higher than me already with the uh the feeling of his ego at the moment?
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: I have no idea.
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: I can't.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: I haven't been playing with my left hand, so I wouldn't be surprised.
- 27:36SPEAKER_03: You're gonna fit perfectly on the Gold Coast glory.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: All right, who you got winning this thing?
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, we'll we're choosing top three, right?
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: Top three?
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah, who's your top two?
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's do it.
- 27:48SPEAKER_02: Go top three, and then maybe pick who you think's actually gonna win it all.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I think uh it's gonna be hard to go past Sarah's team.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: So what's that?
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: The uh Pacific Flame.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: I mean, so that's that's a huge team.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: No, I like the look of the Brisbane Breakers.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: Like that's that's a massive men's pairing um with with Joey and Harry.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, Cap, you know, obviously solid player, not as familiar with with um Brittany, but um that's looking good in my books.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: And then I think uh oh, I think it's a toss-up between Sydney Smash and and the coasters, I think.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Um probably leaning slightly more towards Sydney Smash.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: He's just broken Blitzy's heart, isn't it?
- 28:29SPEAKER_03: He's got like a space of concession here.
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: How can you be a Melbourne and not pick the Melbourne Thunder?
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: I mean, even even Zach's moved to the Gold Coast, mate.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: So great call, too.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's great.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I mean that that's again another massive men's doubles pairing, um, and then you know solid females as well.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: So out of those, who do I think's gonna take it?
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: I think maybe Pacific Flame.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: I think Sarah coming back from the US and having having all that experience, you know, she would have picked a team, I think, quite strong off the back of that.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: Obviously, great team.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Seems like they're the raging favorites, the Pacific Flame.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think that's gonna be hard to beat.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: And as I said, you know, if we go to Dream Breaker, like Sarah's gonna be absolutely lethal.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: And that's uh that's my pick.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: You really want me to start with Melbourne Thunder here, don't you?
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: You do want to do I've already placed them at the bottom.
- 29:24SPEAKER_01: You do all right.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm gonna get out of here.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm gonna throw throw everyone off here.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with Bondi Pickleball Club here.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: Big JT.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: Big JT.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: I'm chungus.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: Big big Katie Hart fan, so I reckon I reckon they're just gonna dominate.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: I actually really think they're gonna dominate.
- 29:47SPEAKER_01: Pacific Flame, they're gonna be pretty hard to beat.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: Uh, and Brisbane Breakers, because I've had them in my top three.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: They're they're the top three.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: Um, and yeah, Melbourne Thunder down the bottom.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: You heard it here first.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: I'm about to be clipped, literally.
- 30:07SPEAKER_02: Contractually obligated.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: Clearly, Melbourne Thunder, I think, is gonna win.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: But if I couldn't pick them, okay, if I had to pick another couple teams, I think Pacific Flame, I think Sarah Danahy did a really good job with her draft.
- 30:22SPEAKER_02: That's meaning you go and grab Lucas Pasco, who as is as good as all these top males in the draft, okay.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: You grab another good female, okay, and B.
- 30:32SPEAKER_02: Massey, who's a good middle range pick.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: And then Nick Mel, that's when he keeps getting better and better and better.
- 30:37SPEAKER_02: We spoke about it before.
- 30:39SPEAKER_02: I think that team outside of the Melbourne Thunder is probably the team to beat.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: Um, obviously, love my Melbourne Thunder.
- 30:45SPEAKER_02: I think Zach and Tom are going to be very hard to beat in men's doubles.
- 30:48SPEAKER_02: And if they both played huge and mixed, I think they can win a lot.
- 30:51SPEAKER_02: But our team, I think on paper, if it gets to a dream breaker, Zach's very good at singles.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: Tom is very good at singles, over a 6-0 in singles.
- 30:58SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 30:59SPEAKER_02: Aria can play good singles, and B Horsley has done really well in the last 12 months.
- 31:03SPEAKER_02: And she's won some events in Asia too, even though one of them might have been in the under 5-0 division when she uh was trying to get some money over there.
- 31:11SPEAKER_02: Shout out to B.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: Um, and then can't go past Brisbane Breakers and the Sydney Smash.
- 31:19SPEAKER_02: I feel like Joey Wilde and Harry Brown, like you mentioned, that men's pair, very hard to beat.
- 31:24SPEAKER_02: And I think Mitch and Joey are going to be another really good team.
- 31:28SPEAKER_02: Like, think about Mitch last year, him and Kim did really well together.
- 31:31SPEAKER_02: Joey is also really good on the right, and now he gets to take a step back a little bit because he had to like carry me last year and play a big left.
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: He can just sit there and he can take a bit of a breather, let Mitch dominate and do really well.
- 31:43SPEAKER_02: And that's been their women as good too.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: Like Westbury won multiple titles last year as well.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: And Shannon Spencer's solid.
- 31:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, wow.
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: Um wow, wow, thanks, Owen.
- 31:56SPEAKER_03: Shout out Owen Wilson.
- 31:58SPEAKER_03: Huge shout out.
- 32:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, tough one.
- 32:01SPEAKER_03: I think it's hard to go past what you guys have already said, and I just kind of want to stir the potty a little bit.
- 32:07SPEAKER_03: Please do.
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: Please do.
- 32:09SPEAKER_01: Tell me you want Melbourne Thunder down the bottom two.
- 32:15SPEAKER_02: Where's the support crew?
- 32:17SPEAKER_03: They're actually they're actually all they're all mates.
- 32:19SPEAKER_03: I can't do that, except for Tom.
- 32:20SPEAKER_03: I don't know Tom, but I'm sure he's a lovely bloke.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, I think I think Pacific Flame are definitely in the top three for me.
- 32:28SPEAKER_03: I think it's hard to go past the breakers, and then oh, that's a that's a tough one.
- 32:37SPEAKER_03: I think it's probably out of the Smash Thunder and Bondi for me.
- 32:45SPEAKER_03: Uh the third spot on the.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: Did you try to pick any other bloody team mate?
- 32:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'll actually chuck uh my second team, six of the eight.
- 32:53unknown: Yeah.
- 32:54SPEAKER_02: I'm just gonna go Brisbane, Sydney, Coast, Gold Coast, Pacific, Bondi's one of them will win.
- 33:00SPEAKER_03: No, I think you gotta go Pacific, Brisbane, and I'll chuck Bondi in there.
- 33:07SPEAKER_03: I gotta get around Chungus.
- 33:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Chungus.
- 33:09SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 33:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: Like it.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: Jeez, Northern Crocs didn't get much love, neither did uh the Gold Coast Glory.
- 33:14SPEAKER_03: But uh, your left-handed player.
- 33:17SPEAKER_03: Uh, if if you were in the side, I would have gone for you.
- 33:20SPEAKER_03: Thanks, mate.
- 33:20SPEAKER_03: Look, I'll I'll put my application for next season, but I don't know how many left siders are gonna left-handers are gonna be there.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: Obviously, the Melbourne Thunder need all the help that they can get.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: And I'm happy to put the cape on and be that helper guy.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: Just hear me out, right?
- 33:38SPEAKER_02: I don't know if you want to be seeing Zach at the event next weekend.
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: But um, but yeah, look, um with all these teams, I think it's gonna be really close between all of them, and I'm interested to see with the first event next weekend, the 18th to the 20th of September at Raya Pickleball Club.
- 33:54SPEAKER_02: It'll be interesting to see who picks up the trophy for this first event.
- 33:57SPEAKER_02: How it's gonna work is the first three rounds, every team is playing, they're trying to get basically a seeding for the MLP finals, which will be in Sydney, um, which would be amazing to see.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: Um, that'll be later in the year.
- 34:09SPEAKER_03: Um having said that, I'm gonna jump in.
- 34:12SPEAKER_03: I actually think the coasters will win one round.
- 34:14SPEAKER_03: That's gonna jump in as well.
- 34:15SPEAKER_02: That's me.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: You can't go past Danny as well.
- 34:17SPEAKER_03: I think that's a big, big shout.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: I think it depends how Roman arrives in Australia and plays, um, and then obviously how Taya and Danny gel as well on court.
- 34:26SPEAKER_02: So we'll see how that goes.
- 34:28SPEAKER_02: Um, with that in mind, we're gonna wrap up this mini episode and we'll see you guys next time.
