- 0:13Welcome to the mural of the soul this time of reflections with their own style
- 0:19here where they are listening to me on any podcast platform or even on YouTube
- 0:25and Facebook. Remember that YouTube at the moment is the only medium where you
- 0:29can enjoy podcast video. Every month an episode a month is video, but
- 0:35on YouTube, they also have that ease of listening to audio if they want.
- 0:40On all platforms we are in Deeaser, Spotify, Apple Podcast, Google
- 0:44Podcast, Iheart, Audible or Amazon Music. Everywhere we are practically with you
- 0:52enjoying these reflections in your own style. My name is David Fernando and Guera.
- 0:56I' m your host. Thank you for the support with the reproductions
- 1:00that you make and spread. Share these episodes so that many people can be
- 1:06built in some special way with this perhaps clumsy attempt to change the world using
- 1:11reflections and talking to you in a very familiar way, in a very humane
- 1:15way, believe me that every time I finish recording each of these episodes,
- 1:22apart from doing the corresponding review in the case of video podcasts, apart from
- 1:26making it post- video production, which always takes a long time. But
- 1:32in the midst of the journey of this whole affair, for I also learn,
- 1:37I learn from what I prepare, and that' s cool I love
- 1:42not only to do this for you, but also to learn, and not
- 1:47just to say no. I accept it not simply from the little I know,
- 1:51because that is a feedback to you, because your servant also learns.
- 1:57Thanks for the belt, thanks for the feedback. The suggestions are very important
- 2:04to make a better project and good we go forward. Welcome, look at
- 2:14this interesting story I just found. The poor mother was dying in all directions.
- 2:27Telegrams had come out calling his children by his bedside, seeking the fastest
- 2:35means. These young men were eagerly flying, wishing and begging that the life
- 2:42of the dear sick woman be prolonged until her arrival. Oh, sir,
- 2:50let' s get in time for one last look, one last handshake,
- 2:55one last caress. They came in silence, gathered around his bed. They
- 3:07looked at those worn hands that worked so hard for them the wrinkled forehead because
- 3:15of the daily task by theirs, the eyes in which they never saw more
- 3:22than affection and sweetness, could not avoid the anguish of their hearts nor shuddered
- 3:30by bowing the greater. She kissed the old lady' s face and said,
- 3:40" Dear Mother, you have been so good to us that we want
- 3:49to tell you how much we love you and thank you" The almost closed
- 3:53eyes already opened and his face lit up. Thank you, son. I
- 4:03' m touched to know. You never told me before. It was his
- 4:11last words and look at how he closes the story I just read. The
- 4:19moral of this sad account is very simple. If you love your mother,
- 4:26beat her today Don' t wait till tomorrow It could be late. Well,
- 4:34this is the story that leads us to today' s reflection. And
- 4:40look, I think in some episode the mural of the soul, we had
- 4:45already dealt with this topic and I have to emphasize it and I want to
- 4:56address it not only to the honor and memory of our parents, but also
- 5:01to the beings around us. Look, how important it is to understand that
- 5:10the people around us are not going to be forever. I mean, I
- 5:15mean, since we all have an expiration date, we' re all going
- 5:20to die someday, because that' s right, that' s the life
- 5:26cycle. Look, as much as one tries to get some ancient treatment,
- 5:32that' s great, it' s fantastic, or to have a balanced
- 5:42diet to exercise. That can delay and make it something that' s inevitable
- 5:49and it' s the fact that one day we' re going to leave
- 5:54this land, one day we' re going to die. Yeah, that
- 5:56' s the truth. But while there is life, there is hope,
- 6:00while we have breath in our lungs, we must enjoy life by putting it
- 6:03in the hands of God, always in the hands of Father God, to
- 6:09say, Lord in your hands I put this day forgive me. I'
- 6:13m, I' m bad at it, I' m greedy. Well,
- 6:16I' ll forgive myself. And, as I said in this podcast,
- 6:21always recognize that one is wrong, that one has failed, and recognize
- 6:26God and know, the good news is that God does not accuse us.
- 6:30Just like that, I wanted to horr you not just he hugs us and
- 6:35tells us well, a son you fell we go forward. I forgive you
- 6:41life goes on, you' re human, you fail, but thank you
- 6:46for recognizing your mistakes I' m your father. I love you too much.
- 6:47You have no idea how much. I love you and the lord is
- 6:51like that. God is like that. He loves us the Bible says that
- 6:56even in spite of our infidelities, to remain faithful. But that' s
- 7:00the thing. The theme is to value our own. So, first of
- 7:06all, she honors her father and mother. Exodus two thousand twelve in the
- 7:14Bible says it does not honor your father and your mother so that your days
- 7:17may be prolonged in the land that God gives you. That says the same
- 7:21scripture and in the new Testament, in one of the Pauline letters, reinforces
- 7:25it with a rather interesting mitigating and honors your father and your mother, which
- 7:34is the first commandment with promise to do well and to be of long life
- 7:40on earth? Interesting, that doesn' t honor your father and your mother,
- 7:48which is the first commandment with promise to go well with you and be
- 7:54long- lived on earth? That' s Ephesians Six, where it'
- 8:03s two, I read it to you in the Catholic version. God does
- 8:05not speak today the first commandment containing a promise is this honor to your father
- 8:09and mother so that you may be happy if you live a long life on
- 8:13earth. Look, this is very complicated to explain, but I' m
- 8:20going to do my best to do it. The Bible does not tell us
- 8:28honor your father and your mother under these conditions, if you behaved well hon
- 8:33relo, if you did not behave well, do not honor it. Do
- 8:37not vilate it does not denote such conditions simple and simply honor them point what
- 8:45were bad parents with me, which were such a thing, because I must
- 8:54honor them. You don' t have to honor them. Simple basic of
- 8:58them. God takes care of it. Simply one fulfills this divine principle.
- 9:03Honor your father and mother. The story I just read is quite tremendous,
- 9:09because they are children who even the last estertors, that is to say,
- 9:18as far as the last of life this lady, this mom, there,
- 9:22did remember her. You don' t have to remember her all the time.
- 9:28It is necessary to remember the old at all times, in all circumstances,
- 9:33as far as possible. Yeah, all of a sudden you say no,
- 9:35but it' s just that I do it, Fernando, and they
- 9:39kind of don' t want to see me like they kind of side me
- 9:41up, and that makes me sad. Well, we' re in the
- 9:46tech age of whatsapp, for example, telegram. So, well, a
- 9:50call, a message, do as humanly possible and do your part, do
- 9:56your part. Then nothing simple and simply honor them and I have said it
- 10:05in other episodes of this podcast, not honoring parents is not giving them money,
- 10:11although if it is the perfect possibility. But honor them with those words
- 10:18of affirmation, honor them with those words of affection. And don' t
- 10:26bring them any flowers anymore. When I' m in a drawer, in
- 10:31a coffin and I' m struck by the question of the veils, the
- 10:39epistles, and I want to deal with the matter delicately, because I know
- 10:48you listen to me all kinds of audiences. But there is a reality and
- 10:56it is that well, beyond the spiritual context, that you have some beliefs
- 11:01that I am not going to get into that, but it strikes me that
- 11:07there are pictures of the deceased, who died, who is a father,
- 11:11who is a mother. And I' m struck by pictures of children crying
- 11:18and saying don' t take him away, don' t bury him.
- 11:22Take me, take me with you, Mom, take me with you,
- 11:26Dad, don' t take him, don' t take him and cry
- 11:30and cry. I analyze and forgive you for doing so. That person had
- 11:39quality of time and life with his father and his mother. Why, because
- 11:43I interpret those tears and that regret, maybe because it doesn' t take
- 11:52advantage of my old people and they' re taking them to a vault or
- 11:58they' re burying them underground or they' re even taking them to the
- 12:01cremation room. I didn' t take the time to ask myself no,
- 12:11but well let' s leave it here, because, like I told you,
- 12:15it' s a rather delicate matter. The point I want to get
- 12:16to is have affections with them when they' re alive, not when they
- 12:22' re dead, because there' s the corpse. The human remains in
- 12:26a vault are in a drawer, in a coffin. That person no matter
- 12:30how much he is there, and I have a special meaning for everyone who
- 12:33attends a funeral won' t be able to hear, he won' t
- 12:37be able to see. Then let' s have those tokens of affection and
- 12:43that honor of our parents. When they' re alive. Let' s
- 12:50take advantage of that since Fernando already died. I think what you' re
- 12:54saying doesn' t apply my case anymore, because my parents are already dead.
- 12:58Now his memory. I have said so in some episodes of the mural
- 13:01of the soul honor them remember them with affection. Now let' s move
- 13:07on to another topic. Let us enjoy the company of those around us Notice
- 13:13that not only was I going to focus on the honor of parents, but
- 13:16also on enjoying our loved ones, family, friends, those people who are
- 13:24special along the way our partner, those we are married to, that spouse,
- 13:31that husband, that wife, as the case may be, let us
- 13:37enjoy sharing that quality of life time. And if in the midst of this
- 13:41society where it requires us to work enough and our time is absorbed by work
- 13:45and all this, but let us take advantage of that time of quality of
- 13:52life with each of our loved ones. Let us not wait until they die,
- 13:54let us not wait until they may go to another country, to another
- 13:58place where we cannot travel. Although of course, as I tell you,
- 14:01we are in the technological age where we can even by video call, have
- 14:09that contact with them. But there is nothing better than enjoying the physical presence.
- 14:13You know, I was remembering the times of the 19th Covid pandemic.
- 14:16That virus that was put us in check the whole world and that pandemic lasted
- 14:24from the two thousand twenty to the year two thousand twenty- one two thousand
- 14:30twenty- two practically and even the moment I am recording this episode of the
- 14:35mural of the soul. On March 11, the World Health Organization declared covid
- 14:41nineteen as a pandemic, that is, an already virtually global evil. And
- 14:48in that time of pandemic, the governments of the world ordered us to be
- 14:54quarantined, that is, every family was locked in their homes for prevention and
- 15:01to avoid the complications of this virus covid nineteen produced by the microorganism called Sarscop
- 15:09two, that sarscop two is a type of coronavirus. Coronavirus isn' t
- 15:13a disease, it' s a group, it' s a group of
- 15:18bugs, we could put it that way. Among them is dal sarscop two
- 15:20producing the covid Disney blah, blah blah. The point is, we weren
- 15:26' t allowed physical contact, we weren' t allowed to hug. We
- 15:31had to handle something called social distancing, in which, well, each person
- 15:37literally gave a distance of two meters, something so I remember and they couldn
- 15:43' t approach and everyone with mask, with mouthcaps why. Because the virus
- 15:50was transmitted through the mouth, it was a new virus and practically, because
- 15:54we were on our way to the unknown. We heard in the news of
- 15:58radio, television, social media, the Internet, that the numbers of dead
- 16:00and infected by covid nineteen were on the rise. And that disturbs us.
- 16:07We were scared for that time with my wife we were confined in our workplace,
- 16:14on the radio, in an apartment conditioned as a radio studio, and
- 16:18the scene was quite particular, because the streets were alone and all this,
- 16:23but I want to focus on the social approach that the covid marked nineteen And
- 16:29it is that we did not have that opportunity to hug ourselves, to give
- 16:33us a kiss, to shake our hands, but that the greeting code in
- 16:38times of pandemic was either fist or elbow with elbow. That was the greeting
- 16:42code. No hugs, no gestures of affection, nothing. Why. Because
- 16:48at least contact, because it could be that this virus did its thing.
- 16:56Now, the covid nineteen is still among us, but it is no longer
- 17:00so worrying. You know why it' s already becoming an endemic disease.
- 17:06What does that mean is that it is a disease that is practically between us
- 17:10and that each person is responsible for self- care or each person is responsible
- 17:15for whether or not he or she wants to carry a mask to protect himself
- 17:18or herself. Everyone is responsible for their care and health. But those covid
- 17:29times were tremendous because, for example, a person died well, either from
- 17:33covid or from any other illness, and a mass funeral or burial was not
- 17:41allowed, because health regulations said that maximum five people, at least here in
- 17:49Colombia, maximum five people could attend a funeral. But, look at the
- 17:57curious fact, it was this distance from the coffin. They couldn' t
- 18:02be near the coffin why. Because the belief was that if the patient had
- 18:07covid nineteen, the virus could still be alive, even though the body was
- 18:11decaying and could seriously affect the people around it. In such cases, in
- 18:19the first months of the declaration of pandemic. The order was even to cremate
- 18:27the bodies to avoid that situation. And there were practically no such mass funeral
- 18:38situations because it was complicated. The covid nineteen taught us if I am allowed
- 18:45to use the expression to value the company of our close beings. And I
- 18:51' m going back to thinking. Then, whenever we have a chance,
- 18:57let us appreciate the affection, the affection for the closeness of Dad and Mom
- 19:03and our loved ones. Let' s value it Let' s squeeze the
- 19:11juice at that always, always, always, always for when the time comes
- 19:15to leave, when the time comes for one or those people to die,
- 19:18because death is going to touch us all in some way. Some God does
- 19:22not want under a disease and or in most cases, how beautiful it would
- 19:29be for the natural cause of life, without blame, without disease, because
- 19:33the body has already completed the cycle. Yeah. In any case say,
- 19:41look you know that I took advantage of that person, I enjoyed it,
- 19:45I enjoyed it and I enjoyed his company, his friendship, his closeness,
- 19:51his company, the moments of going out, to play, to eat ice
- 19:53cream, to dinner, to eat, to do madness within the healthy,
- 20:00I did not take advantage of the time. Thank you, God, for
- 20:03giving me this man, this woman as a friend, a couple friend that
- 20:08I know. Thanks for lending it to me. I' ll live the
- 20:12rest of my days remembering him, honoring his memory and good. Thank you,
- 20:17sir, because you' re my best friend and I' m closing
- 20:22the episode. You' re my best friend, you' re with me
- 20:25always and it' s good to have your closeness, sir always. Thank
- 20:30you for that. Then morale of today' s reflection. Let' s
- 20:37enjoy Mom and Dad' s company. If we have them alive, if
- 20:38they are not, let us honor the memory and, above all, and
- 20:41this is what makes the difference with other episodes of the mural, let us
- 20:48also enjoy our loved ones, loved ones, those who are with us and
- 20:52who make us understand that, even when life is complicated and difficult, with
- 20:56them life can be fantastic and, above all, honor and glory be to
- 21:00God. My name, David, Fernando and Guera, thank you for joining
- 21:02me. Share this episode with whoever you want and good as I always say,
- 21:07we find ourselves in the next one to write together on the mural of the soul
